I’ve always been a sucker for the ‘cold and distant type’ opening up to reveal they’re a total dork. Hes so caring and silly has a lot surprising things to him too (easily jealous?? really competitive?? not to mention that whole thing about being ‘scared’ of horror movies 🤭)

To be fair though, sometimes I do feel like the game favored him most since they knew he’d be the most popular. Especially when comparing his route to Doha’s—there just seemed like more text message opportunities with him than all the others, especially after dates or during the retreat. I really really like him but he just felt like a side character the entire time :’)

4) Chunsung Ki - the little brother type

okay so ig I placed chunsung last cause I really did see him as like a little brother by the end (even though he’s technically older than me???) tbh I was interested with him at first because I thought that it was really cool that he owned a cafe, but that ended fairly quickly, especially since he was really hard to talk to

And his route was very depressing too can’t forget that :’)

You’ve met by pure chance, the kind of thing you thought only happens in romcoms. Despite having different majors, you and Dani ended up in the same class, with a professor who was way too much into assigning group projects worth half of your grade. Normally you’d hate it, but this was the only time you made an exception.

Of course Dani caught your eye the second you saw her, but you know for a fact you wouldn’t have the guts to talk to her if you weren’t working together. And you definitely wouldn’t have the guts to ask her out on a date, much less – become her girlfriend. College life is truly great sometimes.

When the two of you need to study, you’ve got plenty of places for it: study halls, a library, even outside when the weather is nice. But your favorite is getting together at home – this gives you an excuse to cuddle afterwards, watching some terrible movie you pay little attention to and talking about everything and nothing at the same time.

Dani always reminds you to take breaks. She knows you can get really carried away sometimes and doesn’t want you to exhaust yourself. You comply every time, joking how you can’t say “no” to such a cute girl. You think it’s cheesy as hell, but it’s true – besides, it’s a guaranteed way to make her blush. So of course you do it again and again.

Ironically enough, Dani herself is the kind of person to put huge workloads on herself, so more often than not it’s you reminding her to take some time off and relax. You admire her dedication, but you also know her well-being is more important than any assignment could ever be. One word: snacks. Dani always buys or cooks something so your studying sessions don’t feel as tiring. For her, sharing food with you is a form of love. Making each other study playlists - music, YouTube videos, whatever you prefer. Truth to be told, you play the ones Dani made for you every chance you get: on the bus, while doing the dishes, before you go to sleep, everywhere. Even the thought of her taking the time to create something so personal for you warms your heart.

Constantly slipping encouraging notes between the pages of Dani’s textbooks – writing how much you love her, how awesome she is or just drawing silly faces. You don’t think much of it, just something small to brighten her day. She saves them all though: sometimes you see her using those notes as bookmarks and smile. She’s definitely a keeper.

From time to time, when you still have homework left and she doesn’t, Dani cozies up to you, putting her head on your shoulder, watching you do your thing in comfortable silence. You usually end up distracted anyway, putting off whatever you have to do to cover her face in kisses. After all, are you reallyexpected to concentrate when your beautiful girlfriend is right there? Absolutely impossible.

You love listening to Dani: doesn’t matter if she rants about a horrible class she’s forces to take or goes into depth on a topic she’s super passionate about. Sometimes she cuts herself off with an embarrassed look on her face, saying she talks too much and you must be bored to death already. This breaks your heart; you always assure Dani that her thoughts are valuable and you’d love to hear her out. She’s a great listener too, so she always returns the favor, wondering how she’d ever get so lucky.

By the way, you hype Dani up like there’s no tomorrow. There’s no doubt in your mind that your talented, smart and hard-working girlfriend will nail any challenge coming her way, no matter how hard. But even if not, who cares! She’s still her, and that’s more than enough - she’s more important than any grade. Dani always melts like butter in the sun and you love it; and you mean every word, so if you need to say it a thousand times, you will.

Sometimes, especially during the exam period, both of you get too tired to do anything in the evenings. When the fatigue hits, you end up snuggled on your bed, listening to some music and relaxing. You still try to give Dani some affection, even if you’re completely worn out: tracing her features softly, planting long, slow kisses along her jaw and down her neck… You want her to feel adored (and she really, really does).

Seungkwan says that everyday he comes around your apartment and it never fails to bring a smile to your face. You don’t even need to open the door for him anymore. You know it’s him when you hear the passcode being punched, followed by your name being called sweetly. You don’t turn away from your laptop as he makes a beeline to the kitchen and takes the food he brought out from the plastic bags. 

Your smile becomes wider when you feel warm arms wrap around your shoulders and soft lips smooch your cheeks. 

“Busy?” He asks.

You raise your head a little, resting it against his tummy. “Just a little bit.”

You can feel his smooth hands gently massage your shoulders and a sigh of pleasure escapes your mouth. Seungkwan just nods and pecks your forehead and goes back to the kitchen. He already knows that you can’t be bothered unless you yourself stand up from your table. He respects your schedule and he can’t get you out of it no matter how much he tries. Unless it’s way past your working hours. He’ll hold a spatula against you if you don't lift your fingers from the keyboard. 

Today is like any ordinary day. You clock in at eight in the morning and clock out at six in the evening. Your company is a foreign one so you have an option to work from the comforts of your home. You have business trips every two months, visiting and attending important meetings at the main branch. But other than that, you’re mostly at your apartment, making use of technology with emails, video conferencing and whatnot. 

Seungkwan is a regular to your humble abode. Although he doesn’t frequently come to your apartment, he makes sure he does at least six times a week. The one day left is usually you going to his, funnily enough. You’re not complaining about it anyway. He makes everything a little better after a tiring day. And since his family is in Jeju, he always assures you that there’s nothing to worry about. 

You hear the stove being turned on and the cabinets being opened one by one. You’re sure he’s cooking your dinner now. He’s actually pretty late today. Most days he’s here before noon, fixing you some brunch. He probably went to the store to fetch some things you’re sure your refrigerator cannot offer. 

You have to admit, you can cook but you’re not good at it. Seungkwan was brutally honest with you that one time you tried imitating his mother’s original recipe. It was embarrassing, but your boyfriend was kind enough to help you save the meal. From then on, he took the reins and does most of the cooking when it’s a meal you’re going to share together. 

Occasionally, you cook with him and learn a lot. You try to remember them for whenever he gets busy and can’t meet you for the day. He monitors it through video call and reminds you to save some so he can have a taste later. 

You’ve been dating Seungkwan for almost a year now and this dynamic that you have naturally came to be. It wasn’t forced at all. He offered to teach you how to make kimchi one time and the rest is history. You love it so much and it makes you beg to have him stay around for a long time. 

You don’t see yourself letting go of Seungkwan. And you hope he feels the same way. 

Around twenty minutes later, an alarm rings across the room, making you jump from your chair in surprise. It’s his phone and when he turns it off, he gives you a knowing smile. He set an alarm for when your shift ends, so that you don’t get carried away. You smile back before saving your work and sending one last email. Your laptop is currently shutting down when you stand up and walk to the kitchen, where the love of your life is with open arms. 

Seungkwan scoops you in a big embrace and you giggle when he whispers “finally” against your neck. You kiss his cheek when he sets your body back down, not letting go of him with your tight arms around his waist. 

“What are you making tonight?”

“Minghao-hyung taught me this fried recipe and I thought you’d love it,” he answers, wrapping one arm on your shoulder while the other continues stirring the rice on the pan.

You take a whiff and he’s right. “Smells good.”

“Of course,” he says, a little too proudly. “My cooking never tasted bad.”

Yoongi has been working on a new collaboration song all week with artist Max all week for hours straight.

The upcoming song was supposed to be added into both of their albums, but the night he came back to seek approval from his company, the song was accidentally erased from the files he worked so hard to organize.

Of course on the outside it didn’t seem like Yoongi was too bothered about it because he’s dealt with incidents like this before. This specific song was very special to him because it was about you and he wanted to tell the whole world how much you mean to him.

“Fuck...” He cursed under his breath as he felt a tinge of anger dwelling inside him. He knew sitting around all day wasn’t going to solve this so he grabbed his keys and walked out the door to take a night stroll collecting his thoughts.

Since you weren’t too far from his studio he’s decided to arrive at your house to pick you up and ride with him.

You expected this to be a quick trip to the market to pick up some snacks so you threw on a big black hoodie, some running shorts and some slide on sandals before you headed outside.

“Over here Yoongi!” You started waving as he started pulling up in your driveway. You were so excited seeing him after months of seeing him perform on tv, but you can already sense the vibe being completely off.

“Want to go to the usual spot babe?” You sigh as you buckle your seatbelt already knowing what’s going to happen next. He turns at you to give you a light kiss on the cheek, nods and starts heading on the road.

Car rides with Suga are normally relaxing and very quiet, but in the best way. He would blasts his favorite artists through the radio bobbing his head to the beats whenever he needed to release his emotions. The best part about riding with Yoongi is holding his hand while he’s steering the wheel with his other. It was his seek of comfort and favorite form of affection.

“We’re almost there hang in there...” He slowly parks into the lot and finds the best view of the city of Seoul on top of the hill.

You start getting out the car smiling almost instantly at the beautiful view of the whole city. You take a moment to sink in the beauty, but you still have this gut feeling that this isn’t enough to lift Yoongi’s mood up.

You lean your head on his shoulder as you start clinging closer to him. “Yoongi I’m so sorry about that song you worked so hard on. I know you were dying to release it today, but accidents happen. At least you have another opportunity to make a better version of it.”

He hugs you tighter and kisses the top of your forehead. “I know y/n...it’s still frustrating because I was looking forward to seeing your reaction, but-” He’s cut off with a quick smooch and you start caressing his face.

“Babe seriously you need to stop being so hard on yourself. Truth be told Jimin actually send the copy of it to me and I was able to listen to it. It made me cry honestly and I loved it so much!”

He realized Jimin might’ve been the one messing with his files and shakes his head clenching his fist chuckling. “That bastard. He must’ve accidentally deleted it in the process of sending it.”

You both laugh at the thought imagining the look on his face as he’s realized how baldly he messed up and would have to help Yoongi work on his song. He also owes him a month worth of paying for his meals.

“So what was your favorite part of the song? I would love to hear your feedback.” He looks down at you killing you with his deep voice.

“Well, I loved your verse and how well it blended with Max vocals. I love how you whisper in the adlids that was a nice touch. And best of all, the way you express your love for me. That was the killer part right there.” You start slowly backing up against the car until he’s towering over you.

“Hmm, is that all? Are you sure there’s nothing else I can improve on?” You start wrapping your arms around his neck and start whispering...

“Not at all, because your a pro at what you do. Especially this...”

The both of you slowly lean in kissing each other. The kiss starts off very smooth and soft, but quickly becomes intense and full of heat. Yoongi smirks in between and plays more dirty by sliding his tongue in the kisses. You start panting and try to muffle your moans by keeping your lips attached to him forgetting the other couple is parked 5 ft away.

“What’s the matter baby? You didn’t seem to care they was right there before. Why the silent treatment now?” He gives you the look that drags you straight into temptation and throws you off by picking you up off of the car with your legs wrapped around your waist.

“ I-I just froze up for a second. We’ve never done it out and in the open before. You know how loud I tend to be too.” You start covering your face on his hoodie blushing like crazy.

“Well how about we finish this in the car? The windows are tinted anyways and we can just blast the music in the car so no one can hear us. How does that sound?” He switches back to his cute sparkly kitten eyes waiting for your answer.

First off, the headcanons that weren’t mine:

Hubert reads tales to Ashe, and they're both in a warm blanket and are cuddled up together. Ashe often falls asleep on Hubert, but Hubert doesn't mind. In the morning, Ashe makes Hubert's favorite breakfast and coffee, every single morning. And before Hubert leaves to do work, Ashe always wishes him a nice day with a smooch on the cheek. (Anon 1)

I think Ashe stands out as one of those ambitious characters who try their best to improve, in just about every aspect of life. Seeing as Hubert is constantly monitoring everyone else, Ashe could easily be on his radar. (Anon 2)

And I know that it is definitely a point of debate how much people like Edelgard and Hubert had to do with Lonato's rebellion against the church, it is also a point of connection between the two characters. (Anon 2)

And now for my own, which became very ramble-y but honestly I’m kind of proud of how they turned out:

Going off of the point of Hubert being connected in a way to Ashe through Lonato's rebellion, Hubert would probably want to check up on Ashe after, but very subtly. He's not like Byleth who openly comforts him or Catherine who encourages him to find answers, but he keeps an eye on him. Of course, this has benefits to him, too - if Ashe openly shows disdain toward the church after that point, he could be of use in Edelgard's plans, something Hubert would be very aware of.

Though eventually Ashe would notice Hubert - he slips up and doesn't hide as well as usual, and Ashe approaches him. Hubert, being the introverted goth he is, would try to flee as casually as possible. Ashe isn't super confrontational, so he'd let it go until Hubert slips up again. And that's when a conversation actually happens, likely in the greenhouse. Hubert isn't super interested in plants, but he knows something about which ones are poisonous. It isn't Ashe's favourite conversation topic, but he knows something of poisonous plants as well, thanks to Lonato.

Hubert waits for Ashe to mention Lonato - and doesn't have to wait long, Ashe brings up his adoptive father fairly often, even just quickly mentioning him when Hubert asks who taught him what he knows of botany. Hubert offers his condolences (which sounds something along the lines of what he said to Byleth, though a little softer because Ashe is not their emotionless teacher) and asks him what he knew of Lonato. Ashe recounts some personal stories, to which Hubert asks him what he really knew. His goals, his plans, his hopes and dreams. Who was Lonato as a person, and what was he aiming to gain from his rebellion? And Ashe realizes that he learned the most of his adoptive father in his dying moments - the moments where he fought against him and saw him die, but for what? For his son? To make a statement?

Needless to say, his first actual conversation with the Black Eagles' resident vampire leaves him with more questions than before. Questions that eventually lead him to seek out Hubert, realizing that Hubert seemed to know more than he was letting on (it seems that way because he absolutely does). I'd like to think that his search for answers is what eventually drives him to join the Black Eagles, realizing that Edelgard's ambitions, once revealed, seem to align with Lonato's. And maaaaybe because he's come to enjoy Hubert's presence, despite him acting like a cryptid half the time.

Ashe's ambition, as one of the anons said, is something that Hubert would definitely pick up on. Something that he admires, maybe, or comes to find comforting. A steady constant within the change that war brings. So even if it means reading through half-true books of the knights of old approved by the church, because that's all that can be found in the monastery's library, he'll help Ashe to grow as a person and a fighter. And maybe point out where the books fabricate a thing or two. But maybe not, if it means Ashe looks at him like a hurt puppy, realizing that what he's aiming to be is a distant fantasy.

But... maybe Hubert doesn't have to crush his dreams of being a knight like the ones in his stories. Obviously because more knights would benefit Edelgard, from a purely logical standpoint, because he does not feel anything personal toward Ashe. He is grateful for his service to Lady Edelgard, and glad that he joined the Eagles, but nothing more. And he only smiles when given some of the food Ashe has cooked to be polite. And only checks up on him in the training grounds because Ashe is so nice, he'd accept gifts without a second thought, and they could easily be poisoned. And it wouldn't be of any personal concern to him if Ashe were in the infirmary, but losing a knight (especially one as dedicated as Ashe) even for just a couple weeks would be awful, so he keeps an eye out. For logical reasons.

Goddamnit, Hubert, your reasons aren't logical anymore, they're personal.

Ashe is, putting it bluntly, a little oblivious. Sure, he notices Hubert hanging around him more, but it must be because he wants to see his growth as a knight and make sure he's training often enough and such. And Hubert just appreciates the time and effort he puts into cooking (and that it's not Dorothea who cooked it), that's why he smiles. But he doesn't do that for anyone else ever... so Ashe must be overthinking things. Right?

Not right, Ashe, he likes you.

So, with Ashe being oblivious and Hubert ignoring his feelings, they'd need some sort of push. Something like, say, getting stuck cooking together, thanks to Dorothea suggesting it to Byleth. And as Ashe makes little suggestions on where Hubert can improve and tells stories of cooking with his family, Hubert just ends up blurting it out. Not intentionally, of course - he'd planned to either wait until the war's end or until discussing it with Edelgard, but some instinct takes over, and instead of waiting and thinking it over and rehearsing some big speech, he just comes out and says how he feels for Ashe.

Of course, Ashe reciprocates - and has a much easier time saying so. No overthinking his affections, no discussion with anyone else. Ashe is honest and to the point, both things Hubert likes about him,  but he's also incredibly genuine. His affection for people, whether platonic, romantic, familial, or otherwise, shines through in everything he says and does, especially his confession.

Anyway yeah I got off track at some point but I really like this ship now and am considering writing supports for them so uh yeah :)

Hurricane (Part 2)

Part 1

Paring: Dr. Ethan Ramsey x F!MC (Dr. Rebecca Lao) Word Count: 2.7k Warning: Nothing outright. The story is rated T+.  Summary: A hurricane is falling over Boston. Edenbrook has been evacuated and some very different doctor’s end up seeking shelter together. 

Author’s Note: This was inspired by an anon prompt request for “protection”. I hope I did it justice! This is a multi part story.

It took the group of friends thirty minutes to gather all their things and pack it all into Ethan’s borrowed sedan. They’d all be lying if they said they weren’t terrified of crashing the luxury vehicle or leaving a scuff on the pristine black leather seats. Elijah’s mind raced with all the expletives and face contortions Dr. Ramsey could throw their way if something befell his property. 

With four hours and twenty six minutes until high tide Becca programmed the navigation for Naveen’s river-house and the friends carefully made their way through the torrential start of the storm and out of the city. 

The ride was relatively silent as they drove with caution. It wasn’t until they made it onto the near-empty highway that someone spoke the looming question in the air. 

“Are you and Ramsey back together?” Sienna asked from the backseat.  

Becca’s eyes widened. 

In the commotion she didn’t even think of what this excursion would look like to those outside of her and Ethan’s secluded little bubble. Becca herself didn’t even know what they were. They spent time together outside of work, sure. But does that mean they’ve been unknowingly dating for the last few months? 

What she did know was that Ethan Ramsey and Rebecca Lao were not officially dating, not now and never were.  

Becca looked straight ahead at the disappearing road before them, mulling over her next words carefully. 

“We were never together,” she dismissed so eloquently and added for good measure, “And we’re friends.” She habitually bit her lip in hopes they’d stop the inquisition. 

“Bec, he gave you his car.” Elijah piped in, his grip on the door handle loosening a bit as his thoughts were moved from the impending doom. 

Elijah and Sienna were the only two friends who had an inkling of what had perspired between Dr. Ramsey and Dr. Lao - they did in fact catch the former sneaking out of the apartment one morning last year. Ever since the two kept Becca’s secret and gleefully watched the two doctor’s interactions with a new and keen interest.  

Becca was quick to retort, “How else were we supposed to get to Naveen’s?”  

Sienna tried to stifle a giggle at how uncomfortable her best friend had become, “He also asked you to stay with him at Naveen’s.”

“He also said you guys could come. He’s concerned, is all.” Becca explained as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. To her this situation wasn’t as weird as they were making it out to be. If Ethan and Naveen were in a pinch of course she would lend a helping hand. The two older diagnosticians had become staples in her life over the last year and a half, and although she knew hospital politics meant most colleagues couldn’t comprehend their bond she was hoping her friends would. With a definitive nod she added, “Friends helping friends in their time of need.” 

Elijah egged once more, “So there’s nothing between you?” 

“We’re not dating, no.” 

What was between us? Becca thought to herself. 

Mutual respect? Definitely. An unconditional affinity for the other? Surely. Was it time to finally define their intentions? The jury’s still out. 

With a mischievous gleam in her eye Sienna knew this was going to be a very informative and eye-opening experience for everyone.

After an hours drive and missing the hidden driveway nearly twice the group of friends finally made it to Naveen’s cabin. The rain was still consistently falling in large punishing splatters and the sky above loomed darker than before. The river was higher than she’d ever seen it, yet still so calm and accepting of the bullets colliding at its surface. 

Sienna wheeled Elijah into the foyer with nearly all of their bags while Becca disarmed the alarm with the code Ethan texted her. They removed all their wet clothes, leaving them on the designated hooks and shoe rack before dividing up the goods. 

“How many bedrooms are there?” the spritely doctor asked as she made sure all the food she packed was accounted for.  

“Three,” Becca explained, “Two down here. This one’s Naveen’s new room if I remember correctly.” She pointed to a door on the back far right wall just before the double doors leading to the den. “Then one more upstairs.”

She recalled how the old doctor had asked her and Landry to move his belongings from the upstairs master bedroom down to that one so it would be easier for him to move around. Back when he thought the phage therapy was futile and that he was dying.   

“Perfect,” Sienna squeaked. “Room for Naveen. One for me and Elijah. And one for you and Ramsey.” 

Becca scoffed at the thought of her and Ethan sharing the same bed with so many other eyes around. It took a while for Ethan to finally let her share his bed once again after giving her space in his life in the form of his second bedroom whenever she stayed over to work on cases or just enjoy his company. Events from the past year rolled through her mind at rapid speed, recalling all the times they’d lean on one another mentally, hold one another physically, and then Ethan would push her away emotionally. They were teetering on a fine line and Becca didn’t know if it was in her best interest to fall or continue trekking at a stagnant pace.  

“He’ll probably sleep on the couch in the den,” she told her friends in earnest.  

Sienna smirked knowingly, completely bemused by the whole conversation. There was simply no reason her best friend should know so much about the chief of medicine’s home or her boss’s habits if there wasn’t anything between them. Naveen is Ramsey’s most trusted friend and not even months of doctoring together could bring these intimately behavioral facts to light. 

The girls unpacked the food in Naveen’s narrow kitchen glad they brought more than necessary, odds are they would be held up here for a while. Meanwhile Elijah sat in the living room near the big bay window reading one of the comics he brought with him, the staging a bit too close together for him to move freely throughout the cabin. 

“Just out of curiosity,” Elijah called out, “wouldn’t the river flood too?”  

“Huh. I didn’t think about that,” Becca uttered, the wheels in her head now turning. Rivers do flood, lakes don’t. The river is probably connected to the bay… So why had they sought shelter here? She quickly stopped her thoughts and shrugged, “Seems like a question for Dr. Banerji though.” 

Sienna noticed the permanent furrow of worry between Elijah's eyes. Trying to console her friend she added, “It’s got to be safe if they’re taking refuge here.” 

Becca folded up the empty reusable bags that carted their food and moved to put them with their luggage still idling waiting by the front door. “Ethan definitely doesn’t want Naveen anywhere near a natural disaster after last year’s events.”  

“Doesn’t want you deep in one either.” Sienna tried desperately to hide the smile from her face. 

Elijah chuckled, “Becca is a natural disaster.” 

“A her-icane,” Sienna added with wit.  

Elijah continued, “Completely disobedient. Follows whims.”  

Sienna was so giddy in her addition of, “Breaking Ramsey down, wearing him thin.” 

“Hey!” Becca scolded them playfully. She knew they didn’t mean any harm and were only quoting one of her favorite songs back to her. However the irony wasn’t lost on her. 

“We know you don’t mean to be chaotic sometimes.” Sienna bounded over to her closest friend and wrapped her tiny arms around Becca. “We love you anyway.”

An hour later they saw bright lights breaking through the fog and heard car doors slamming in the distance. Becca opened the front door to a soaking wet Naveen walking in first with a rambunctious Jenner on the lead. Ethan wasn’t far behind carrying his overnight bag and two coolers of food. 

“How was the drive?” she asked. 

“Uneventful, luckily,” Naveen responded with his signature fatherly smile. 

Sienna stood up and greeted, “Hi, Dr. Banerji. Lovely home you have here.” 

Ethan slipped off his coat and shoes and bounded into the kitchen to drop the things off without saying a word. 

“Please, Sienna, call me Naveen. You’re in my home, no need for formalities outside the hospital. That goes for you as well Elijah.”  

The smile that spread across the young doctor’s face was that of a kid who had just met his childhood hero. “I’m honored.” 

Naveen turned back to Becc, “Rebecca can you grab a towel from my bathroom please. Don’t want a wet dog running around.”  

“Oh, of course!” She scurried off to the other side of the house and grabbed the first towel she found in the downstairs en-suite. When she came back Jenner tried to jump at Becca but Naveen held the lead tightly, his glasses still clouded with raindrops. 

Becca grabbed the lead and motioned, “Go ahead, I’ll dry him off.” 

He removed the spectacles and smiled brightly at the woman he considered a daughter, “I’ll go help Ethan.”  

Beca threw the towel over Jenner’s wiggly body and knelt down to begin to dry him off. It was a feat. The pup was so excited to see her he kept jumping up and licking whatever part of her he could get at. The antics sent Becca into a fit of sing-song laughter. 

“I missed you too buddy,” she cooed. She looked straight into his elated amber eyes and asked, “What’ve you been up to?” He popped up and kissed her cheek. “Thank you.” She brought the towel up to dry the underside of his neck and he lunged with another kiss. “Thank you.” Becca couldn’t help but return the favor, planting a nice big smooch to his soft cheek.  

“He’s so cute!” Sienna cried, kneeling down to share in the action.  

“Isn’t he?” Jenner wasn’t Becca’s dog but that didn’t mean she didn’t have a sense of motherly pride for the good boy.  

Sienna whispered in her ear, “Just like his owner.” 

“He’s cuter,” Becca said flatly as she rubbed behind his ears. “Better personality too.” 

Just then they heard that deep velvety baritone voice admonish, “Rookie, are you insulting my dog?” 

“Nope,” Becca chimed and leaned in to give Jenner another kiss on the nose.  

Sienna couldn’t help the giggle. 

After the food was settled away in the kitchen, Ethan and Naveen spread out the furniture in the main living space to make it more accessible for Elijah. Sienna sat on the rug by the coffee table completely enamored with Jenner, while Becca and Elijah finished the game of checkers they started moments before the older doctors’ arrival. 

“I’m making a meat lasagna for dinner, is that alright with everyone?” Ethan asked the eclectic group of medical professionals.  

They all agreed with a mix of nods, “yes” and “sounds good”. 

Sienna looked up to see the attending standing behind the rotated sofa with a look of apprehension drawn all over his features. He seemed like he was in a daze and she wondered what could possibly be plaguing his mind. “Do you need any help, Dr. Ramsey? Becca and I would be more than happy to lend a hand.” 

Ethan shook his head slowly, “Thank you for the offer, but please keep the old man company.” He took one quick sweep of the room as if he was taking in the physical symptoms of a patient, trying to diagnose how these next few days will play out.   

In his absence, Naveen and the young residents spoke about the weather and how they seem to be getting on in their second year, and what hobbies they had besides working. Death's door gave Naveen an appreciation for all the small things in life and now he made sure he gave ample time to his other passions, such as painting, fishing and reading. Noting how Naveen only owned a small television and not many movies, Elijah took it upon himself to quiz the man on his imperative film knowledge. 

Already knowing which way this conversation was going Becca opted to cater, “I’ll see if Ramsey needs help.” She stood up and left Sienna to mediate the depth of the conversation. 

There in the middle of the tiny kitchen was Ethan staring blankly into a pot of tomato sauce as if he was looking for a deeper meaning to his worries, and a dish towel draped over his shoulder. Becca leaned on the wooden door frame and took in the sight of the man she’s seen cook on many occasions. This time was different. The motions and methodology to his recipe didn’t seem to soothe him like usual. He was standing as straight as possible, his shoulders tense under his white button-down, and from the side she could see the three lines of perplexity etched into his forehead.  

“You okay?” she asked quietly from her position.  

He didn’t need to look at her to know her light brown eyes had darkened over with concern. “Why wouldn’t I be?” he replied as he intently stirred his sauce.  

“Seem a little on edge.” Becca pushed herself off the wall and closed the distance between them. She could now fully see what Ethan had been preparing - a large pot of tomato sauce, minced beef already seasoned and cooked through sitting on a back burner, a tray and cheeses laid out on the counter to his left. She was so close to him, her chest a nudge away from pressing itself against his side.  

Out of the corner of his right eye he let himself admire the short brunette and the way she was this close and still smelled like sweet freesia after a long day and the rain. “I assure you I am fine.” 

Her eyes darted up and caught him staring, a small smile begging to shine just for him. She moved ever so much closer, letting her left hand fall to the small of Ethan’s back and her head rest lightly on his upper arm. “This is weird, isn’t it?” she paused before clarifying “Them being here?” 

Without hesitation Ethan sighed, “God, yes.” His free hand moved briskly to rub down his face. “I didn’t think - I- I’m glad we could help. It feels…” he stumbled over his words and Becca finished for him, no doubt in her mind they were feeling the same way about the situation;

“Foreign?” 

He nodded once, “Like I’ve stepped into someone else's life.”  

“What?” Becca pulled her body away from his, obviously taken aback by his admission. To her the situation just felt unfamiliar and scary that what they tried so hard to protect could now be out in the open. But his choice of words made her feel less than, like Ethan didn’t want to be there with her or her friends, or even make any effort at curating a semblance of a normal relationship.  

Ethan moved away from her and to the counter. “Stir the sauce,” he commanded. 

Becca picked up the wooden spoon from where he left it in the pot, watching him intently. 

Ethan grabbed a knife and began slicing a ball of mozzarella. Becca opened her mouth to say something but he was quicker, “I can handle you, me and Naveen. That’s a bubble I don’t mind,” he began to explain. “I don’t know how I feel about letting your friends into my business.” 

She wanted to reach out for him but knew leaving the sauce to burn would create a whole other world of problems in an already delicate situation. “You can trust them. I do, with my life,” she said sweetly, trying to convey years of gratitude in just a few words. When he didn’t respond she added, “At any rate they know there’s something between us and just want us to be happy.” 

He suddenly stopped his movements and gave her a side eye, silently asking if she told them of their situation. He knew she would never break his trust but he needed the confirmation - he needed to be sure nothing was hanging out there and on the line. 

Becca shook her head in reassurance. 

His shoulders slouched briefly as he brought his attention back to the cheese at hand. 

She let a few moments pass before saying, “Be yourself, Ethan. That’s all any of us ask of you.”

“You’d better be quiet if you don’t want to get caught.”

Steve whispers the words in Bucky’s ear as he gives his ass a squeeze, setting Bucky’s blood on fire as much with desire as with acute exasperation.

“Well, Steve,” he hisses, “you’d better get your hands off me then, if you want me to keep quiet.”

Steve slowly shakes his head, a small but perfectly infuriating smirk playing on his lips. “Sorry,” he mouths, clearly not sorry at all. “No can do.”

“Ass,” Bucky mutters, rolling his eyes so hard he can see the inside of his skull.

Steve just grins and gropes Bucky’s ass again. “Exactly.”

Since the two of them are facing each other, standing chest to chest, Steve’s groping causes Bucky’s hips to, well, buck against Steve’s, which makes them both moan, which is not something they should be doing when all that separates them from their friends is a flimsy wooden door. Bucky and Steve are currently hiding in the walk-in pantry attached to the communal kitchen in the Tower, where most of their teammates are having breakfast. 

Bucky’s been protesting from the moment Steve got that glint in his eye that could mean nothing but trouble, grabbing Bucky’s arm and dragging him into the pantry a millisecond before the rest of the Avengers stepped out of the elevator and into the kitchen. Unfortunately, despite his protestations, Bucky’s been hard ever since Steve started kissing his neck with those stupid, soft lips of his, which was approximately one second after the door closed behind them. It’s just no use. Bucky’s body betrays him every single time Steve gets his hands or mouth on it, even if he’s valiantly resisting in mind and spirit.

It’s not that he doesn’t enjoy all the groping and smooching, of course he does. He’s a red-blooded male and Steve is Steve. It’s just that Steve wants it all the time. Including at highly inopportune moments, such as when Bucky is trying to wash his hair, when he's on the phone with Fury, when he's brushing cat hair off his sweater with one of those roller thingies or when he’s just trying to have some breakfast on a regular Sunday morning.

Which is what he thought he was about to do just a few minutes ago, until apparently Steve had had another idea.

Silently, Steve spins Bucky around, pressing up against his back and wasting no time in getting his mouth on Bucky’s neck again – which is totally playing dirty because Steve knows that’s his weak spot, goddammit. To add insult to injury, he then starts moving his hips in a slow, dirty circle, grinding his dick on Bucky’s ass, and despite his objections, despite himself, Bucky feels himself turn to putty in Steve’s hands.

It’s crazy, really, how hungry they still are for each other. Not just considering they’ve been together since 1938, but also because they had sex not an hour earlier, just after they woke up. Steve is truly, genuinely insatiable – had been before the serum and it'd only gotten worse since – and Bucky, even though he’d never admit it, is just as bad. The only difference between the two of them is that Bucky also has other interests besides fighting for noble causes, saving the world and getting laid. Bucky also likes knitting and cats, for example.

Wrapping one huge arm around Bucky’s chest to keep him close, Steve slides the other down Bucky’s stomach, lower and lower until he’s cupping his cock through his jeans. It takes him approximately five seconds to work him up to full hardness – which, embarrassing – so Bucky’s glad when Steve stops teasing and simply unbuttons Bucky’s jeans before pulling them down his hips. “Not quite yet,” Steve quips, because he’s also a smartass. Steve pulls back, and for a second there is only the sound of Bucky’s rapid breathing and the rustle of clothing, and then Bucky tenses in sweet, sweet anticipation as he feels the head of Steve’s cock nudge at his hole.

“Yes,” he breathes, silently willing Steve to hurry up, which, blessedly, he does.

Steve pushes in slowly, just the tip at first, stretching Bucky out so deliciously he almost wants to cry with how good it feels. Something lights up in the back of Bucky’s brain at the praise, and he feels good, so good, thinking, I can do this, I can be quiet, I can be good.

Unfortunately, Steve chooses that moment to up the tempo and pound into him, really going for it now, and fuck, Bucky was wrong, he can’t do this. A low, pained whine escapes him, which prompts Steve to clap a hand over Bucky’s mouth, muffling his moans and forcing him to breathe heavily through his nose. His body feels strangely tense and loose at the same time as he gives himself over to Steve’s full-body assault, unable to do anything but brace himself against the shelf in front of him and take it.

“Oh, you like that, Buck?” Steve coos, not once breaking his punishing rhythm. “Yeah, I think you like that.”

Bucky groans into Steve's palm, furiously nodding his head.

“You know what else I think?” Steve continues in a low whisper. “I think you like the idea that your friends are just on the other side of this door. The words spark electric in Bucky’s brain, touching on some things he hadn’t even fully realized about himself yet but which, obviously, Steve had managed to figure out before him. He’s not even surprised anymore, at this point, but he does whine, high in his throat.

He feels needy, hot all over, suddenly so, so close. Reading Bucky’s body like an open book, Steve takes Bucky’s neglected cock in his free hand, pumping it one, two, three times at the same time as he sinks his teeth into Bucky’s neck, and Bucky gasps, body jerking helplessly in Steve’s grip as he starts to come. With his free hand, Steve magically produces a handkerchief to wipe his hand and dab ineffectually at the sacks of flour, which Bucky makes a mental note to replace later. And then Steve, the fucking asshole, gets a plug out of his pocket, which means he totally planned this, which means he was confident that he could get Bucky to agree to a quick fuck in a fucking supply closet not ten yards from all their friends and teammates, which, argh. Bucky vows to himself that he will have his revenge, but for now he just bites his lip as he lets Steve plug him up.

Pulling Bucky’s pants back up, Steve gives Bucky’s ass a pat to indicate he’s all done before buttoning up his own jeans. Bucky finally turns around, a glare firmly in place, but when he opens his mouth, ready to give Steve a whispered piece of his mind, Steve swoops in and kisses him.

Now, the thing is, Steve’s kisses have the unfortunate side effect of dispelling every last thought from Bucky’s brain; a fact of which Steve is clearly well aware, seeing as he uses it to his advantage happily and frequently. Oh well, Bucky thinks dazedly as Steve pulls back and gives him a wink. There’ll be plenty of time to yell at him later, when he’s not feeling quite so loose and sated.

Steve finally lets go of him then. He turns towards the door, putting his ear to it and listening closely, but as far as they can both tell, all is quiet now. It’s not unusual for the team to have a quick breakfast even on Sundays. There are always things to do, people to see, after all, so Bucky assumes everyone has left by now.

Steve seems to come to the same conclusion, because he grabs the handle and opens the door –

 – and freezes.

Because there, sitting at the breakfast table with her ankles crossed on the table top and giving them the smuggest smirk Bucky has ever seen, is Natasha ‘Black Widow’ Romanov.

“Well, well, well,” she drawls, wicked glint in her green eyes as she slowly drags her gaze up and down their bodies, no doubt registering the state of their clothing and the hickeys on Bucky’s neck. “Look what the cat dragged in.”

Bucky feels himself going red as a beet, but when he chances a glance to his right, Steve is smirking right back at Nat.

“Whoops,” Steve shrugs, easy as anything. He reaches for Bucky’s hand and pulls him towards the elevator. “Guess we’re busted.”

As soon as they step into the elevator, Bucky presses the button to their floor, desperately willing it to hurry the fuck up. It’s not like he’s scared of Natasha, but he’s also not not scared of Natasha.

“Oh, and Nat?” Steve says, almost as an afterthought. “I know you and Wanda were planning on making blinis this afternoon, but you might wanna ask Jarvis to order in some new flour before you do. The stuff that’s in the pantry might be a little – sticky.”

Bucky is treated to the rare sight of Natasha’s eyes widening a fraction in horror just before the elevator doors slide closed.

Rockstar! MC3 x Benten music headcannons pretty please??

Rockstar! Protag 3 x Benten

So just to preface, I have,,,, VOICE HEADCANONS! Specifically singing voice headcanons!

So I feel Protag 3′s singing style and voice would be very similar to Blu Stahli; the guy has a very beautiful voice with a lot of energy and he has an amazing amount of control of it. Two good examples are his two versions of ULTRAnumb!

I also feel like he looks up to a wide variety of rock bands ((and other bands/singers/musicians in general, I’m just focusing on rock ones for now! (or the Housamo universe equivalent of them lmaoooo)), like:

Rammstein- he lives for this dudes growl! He also loves how their music has so much meaning in the lyrics, and thanks to Protag 1 he doesn’t need a translation anymore! He can just mellow out and sink into the music, it’s amazing. Speaking of the meaning in the music, he’ll watch the music videos over and over and over again, just to make sure that he didn’t miss anything.

Within Temptation- He had a mega crush on Sharon Janny den Adel- she’s super pretty ok??? And her voice???? Fucking SUPERB

Miyavi- He really loves the hype that Miyavi puts into his music, he also is just,,,,, so in love with this guy’s voice!

Starset- Absolutely, 100000% also had a crush on Dustin Bates; he loves the passion in their music and the story in each of them. He also loves how romantic they can be despite the stereotypes that come with the music, it makes him ecstatic and their music lifts him up when he feels bummed out

Chevelle- This was one of the bands that originally got him into rock in the first place. The emotion in the songs, Pete Loeffler’s voice- just everything about this band took his breath away and he was hooked ever since

Benten, and yes, if you were here for the entire “what songs remind us of Benten thread” then I hardcore headcanon her songs having a very Paramore mixed with Avril Lavigne vibe; also I think out of the two she’d sound more like Avril-

Benten also looks up to a lot of singers, though they tend to revolve around more 2000′s and alt groups:

Linkin Park- A huuuge influence on her and a band that helped her get through a lot of slumps in her middle school and high school years and when she was first starting out in the rock world, they were also a really big motivator for her. She was devastated when Chester passed away and held a dedication for him, defiantly sang one of his songs (which she killed); it was most likely One More Light or Castle of Glass.

Bring Me the Horizon- SHE HAD A BIG OOOOOOL’ CRUSH ON OLIVER SKYES OK???? THE HAIR, THE TATTOOS, THAT VOICE? MMMMMM- SHE WAS HOOKED

U2- hooooly shit, my dude, she loves them sooooo much, she just loved how atmospheric their music could be

Muse- Very similar to why she likes U2; she also really loves the lead singer’s voice, it soothes her a lot. Her favorite song by them in Madness

Green Day- Ok, this one is kind of a given- have you seen her style???? She looks up to them, they were a major player in her falling in love with rock

Disturbed- TWO WORDS: DAVID DRAIMAN. HIS VOICE???? CHEF’S KISSES- Amazing. Superb. Good food. She lives for this band and absolutely loves the shit out of them 

Ok, onto the relationship!

I feel like Benten was the first to notice Protag 3 since I feel like he was a rising star in the Rock world and it pissed her off to no end because it felt like this dude was just doing it seamlessly

She felt extremely cheated, because it took blood, sweat, and tears for her to get to where she is now, and this dude- this newbie- who barely started a few months prior was already making number ones and shit

And thus he became her unknowing rival 

They don’t meet until their at a rock concert festival where they’re both performing and when Benten catches wind of this, she is so ready to rip this dude to shreds with her music prowess. She’s ready to take names and show Protag 3 up

But when she meets him, it all..... kinda goes down the drain.

Because

A) This dude is an absolute sweetheart, like, he’s so humble and sweet despite him towering a good foot and couple of inches over her (The guy can look Ifit in the eye, that’s scary enough)

And B) He is absolutely gushing over the band. He’s so excited, he honestly reminds her of a puppy- but he’s jumping from band member to band member, shaking their hands, being all around really sweet and showering them all in compliments

Then, he gets to Benten and he shoots into this long winded thank you for writing music and performing and he hopes that he can reach her level one day and preform by her side 

And dangit-

How do you hate a dude like that? You’re a monster, that’s what. An asshole, he’s sweet, how could you? 

Anyway, it’s crush at first sight for her because omg, he’s adorable and I have to smooch him at least once

And that’s how Protag 3 and Benten’s relationship begins

Once they do get together, Protag 3 is a very openly affectionate person with his partners in general, and it throws Benten for a bit of a loop sometimes. It takes her a bit to get used to all the sudden affection that is handed to her by this big ol’ god of a rockstar- but once she does she. is. H O O K E D.

Benten buys Protag 3 gifts, she’s a borderline sugar mama, I ain’t gonna lie. She likes to provide, that’s all. And she has the money for it- especially if it’s for her adorable himbo of a boyfriend, then anything is on the table. 

Protag 3 has gotten particularly internet famous due to Benten taking so many photos of him and posting them on all her social medias. This dude has an angel face and when he smiles it’s like God has come down himself- it also helps that he’s super nice? He’s the biggest teddy bear out there. And Benten was a little jealous of all the attention he was getting at first and then she stumbled upon his Insta and, there’s so many photos of them together and everyone is gushing over them and it’s just,,,, it melts her heart.

Benten get’s jealous easily, she is by far the more possessive of the two- and it’s not like she doesn’t trust Protag 3- she just doesn’t trust other people, it also doesn’t help that he’s the sweetest thing on the face of the Earth- what if someone stole him? What would she do then??????

So, she defiantly clings to his arm and sticks her tongue out at people who are getting a tad too touchy with him

I’ve headcanoned before, but Protag 3 doesn’t get jealous- it’s nearly impossible- but what he does do, it get protective. So it fans are pushing at Benten just a little too hard, he will defiantly take a step in front of her and give ‘em a look that says: ‘back the fuck up’

These two sing to each other if the other is stressed or they just can’t go to sleep and they’re exhausted

They really enjoy doing duets together and their voices mesh pretty well- it’s really sweet and it makes their souls hum

Benten really likes to play with Protag 3′s piercings. Specifically his lip and nipple piercings

It flusters the fuck out him, but as long as she’s having a good time, it’s fine  

They’re really each other’s biggest fans and it’s fucking cute as hell, dude, so cute

How do you think Runaan supports Ethari?

Quietly, and I think there’s a difference between public and private support. And Runaan’s a master of both.

One thing it took me a while to notice is that, during the flashback scene, Runaan doesn’t stand completely opposite Ethari to receive his flower until after they’ve kissed. He scoots over into his “proper” position to receive it, but he’s been standing just a bit off to the side for the whole private exchange with Ethari--words and kiss alike. And no one even bats an eye. Like, if Runaan’s not in his proper official position, then it’s not really happening. Maybe any small asides in Moonshadow conversation are to be pleasantly ignored as if they’re not happening? And that’s where Runaan’s little kisses and murmurs would thrive. He always knows exactly where he’s standing, physically and socially, a master of dances, because dances have rules.

I don’t think anyone believes he’s afraid to show a bit of affection in public after that kiss. I bet he’s softly affectionate when they’re walking around together. Holding hands a lot and walking in step--easier since they’re almost the same height. But whatever they do, I can see Runaan touching Ethari a lot to get his attention, and they’d all be soft lingering touches and brushes, not just taps. And that all goes to show Ethari that Runaan’s deliberately being soft with him, that he can speak Ethari’s language, which he probably learned from Ethari in the first place. If every time Runaan touches Ethari it reminds Ethari that Runaan has dedicated a portion of his life to speaking Softthari, then each touch will be a reminder of Runaan’s loyalty and dedication, a message within a message. But that’s just literally the surface. Runaan may be the leader of the assassins, but he’s married to a busy and influential craftsman who has his own business needs and opinions. I can easily see Runaan simply adopting everything that’s important to Ethari, work-wise, and advocating for it whenever he needs to, because what keeps Ethari happy in his work will obviously spill over into Ethari’s personal happiness, which Runaan naturally wants to provide. Those two on the village council always vote together. (And anyone who wants their vote probably goes to Ethari first to try to get him to sway Runaan, lol)

In private, I think Runaan opens up a lot more to Ethari and communicates with him much more. Touch is a big part of Runaan’s communication, and I’m sure he’s very touchy-feely with Ethari, whether they’re in bed or just pottering around the tree house in the morning. Runaan seems the type who prides himself on his ability to speak so directly with his hands that he doesn’t need words, and Ethari’s the type to have a really hard time keeping quiet about receiving such tender attentions. Runaan’s definitely a service top okay

But I think that Runaan does say a lot to Ethari, too, out loud. They’ve known each other for a long time, and Runaan trusts Ethari with every part of himself. Including speaking his deepest, truest feelings right out into the world, so that Ethari knows exactly how much Runaan loves and appreciates him. And admitting any deep insecurities or concerns that he has, which he’d never let anyone else see or hear of. 

I think he values Ethari’s advice in regards to people’s softer sides, too. Runaan can assess the threat anyone poses on various levels, and he can predict their behavior in a fight-or-flight way. He can read hard motives and anticipate both physical and psychological shifts. But he has a harder time following the vagaries of the elven heart, and so if there’s ever an issue that involves it, I think he tells Ethari about it and asks what he thinks. That’s tantamount to admitting he can’t solve the issue on his own, and that’s something he won’t admit to anyone else. But simply by asking Ethari’s advice, he’s showing a deep trust in Ethari’s ability to read people’s hearts, translate that knowledge into Runaanese, and speak it in a way that Runaan can then act on for the best interests of all involved.

Runaan has to be very aware of just how much time and effort Ethari pours into supporting him and his assassin position, so I can see him lending a hand around Ethari whenever he’s home. Carrying stuff, helping in the kitchen, letting Ethari gently boss him around to balance out Ethari’s support role in the hardware side of assassination. Ethari giving Runaan something really heavy to carry up the stairs, and Runaan just silently struggling with it so that Ethari can see 1: how much Runaan wants to help him out, and 2: how much stronger Ethari is because he was carrying the same load in like one arm. Ethari sees Runaan all pink and sweaty from effort and smooches his cheek in gratitude, and Runaan just grins, because Ethari’s smile and kiss was the whole point all along.

Runaan’s got the privilege of being the more visible, respected member of their marriage. I think--I hope--he’s acutely aware of the inaccuracy of that appearance. He’ll definitely use it to Ethari’s advantage every time he can. But he’ll also act in private to subvert it and to let Ethari be in charge of as much as he likes, like cooking and planning vacations and decorating the house and picking who tops whom that night. Because he wants to balance with Ethari, and he’ll bend in whatever direction he needs to in order to get it. And the lengths he goes to for Ethari to feel respected and appreciated and heard, that’s the truest way Runaan can show his love and support.
