Can I request headcanons for Hubert Felix Ashe and Ignatz being shy around female Byleth separately?

All of this is pre time skip (as I don't write for post time skip Hubert)! I'm writing this as some sort of a puppy-crush thing and it's one-sided!

Hubert von Vestra

He's completely charmed by her face expressions. Her lack of reaction is cute... But getting her off guard is even better.

He's not the kind to be lost for words, he just tries his best to unsettle her in order to make her leave him alone so he can calm down a little.

But if it fails he always has plenty of reasons to leave. And he's not hesitant to use his excuses to avoid the professor.

Once she sees him, then she doesn't. He's in control of when they meet and he makes sure to always be ready just in case.

Ignatz Victor

Her grace is the attribute that makes him ever so less confident around her. Even though he was already intimidated to begin with.

The way she moved, talked, hell even yawned all was like looking at a goddess! Even her imperfections were perfect.

So he didn't really talk to her when she wasn't the one to approach him. He preferred to admire her from the distance.

You can probably imagine but he'd be totally lying if he said he never sketched her during a lecture. He never made it into a painting... But looking at Byleth sure inspired him as to how a goddess he imagines looks like.

Felix Hugo Fraldarius

Her strength is the key factor of him missing his words. Earning respect from your dream opponent is something he definitely wants to achieve.

He insults her like it's nothing, he's straightforward- but sometimes he himself doesn't know what he's thinking.

Asking for advice was a big no to him. He only wanted to adjust his mistakes by practice.

So having her fix his posture, or anything really made him lose his focus for so many reasons... That of which he wasn't aware of.

Ashe Ubert

Her being so helpful is perhaps one of the things he admires the most. She's so thoughtful and always makes time for everyone.

To himself he translates this feeling as total admiration and a reason why he'd like to be just like her.

So while being at a receiving end of her gestures is amazing... He often finds himself unable to think of a way to react to her kindness.

He always tries to be available to her too... But it's rare for her to reach out... Sometimes it motivates him to check up on her by himself! There's nothing wrong with looking excuses to being around her, right?

Lore rambling below the cut

I mainly thought about stuff about them for Three Houses but while drawing this I started thinking about how their relationship starts and develops in Three Hopes. Because regarding Three Houses, Remiel (he/they) and Mai (they/them) are always in whatever house Byleth chooses. In Three Hopes Mai starts in Golden Deer and Remiel is still hiding in Abyss, and when he stops hiding he joins the Adrestian Empire.

Mai was originally taken as a hostage by the Empire during a battle, but quickly ended up joining their forces by her own decision. The church still tries to get them back (because Mai is Seteth's adopted child) since they still believe Mai is a hostage.

I genuinely don't remember if you can recruit Ashe in the Three Hopes Black Eagles route but Remiel would convince him to join their forces becuse they're brothers (Remiel is Lonato's second biological child.)

Anyways, every time Mai finds themselves getting attacked, Remiel and Hubert rush to protect them. Mai can defend themselves decently, but feels overwhelmed quickly and needs their qpps to feel safe and for emotional regulation.

Crossovers I love you <3

I'm a sucker for crossovers. Love them, eat them up, especially with a good concept, good character writing, and good world building. The last one applies if's its part the fusion variety rather than the dimension travel variety. ESPECIALLY if there is a language issue. So here's one crossover idea and I'll post about more of mine later

OP x Fire Emblem Three Houses

I have a few ideas with this concept alone.

(a) Zoro, in his fashion, ends up within a Duscur village after being saved from drowning from a old fisherman. The village has been experiencing a pirating issue with no help coming from the Garreg Mach, the Eastern Church, or the Kingdom Soldiers. Zoro, despite not recovering fully, gets involved and that will have consequences.

No other Strawhats would show up, at least not till the very end and there wouldn't be chapters cutting back to them, maybe just a section or two. It would be Zoro, the Officer's Academy

The idea of Zoro interacting with fucking Claude, Edelgard, Hilda and Hubert is such a funny idea to me. They would not get his deal and he wouldn't not explain it. Felix would have a field day when he finds out Zoro uses three sword style, first because he'd find them obscenely stupid and second when he recognizes Zoro's strength in one way or another. Would Zoro see or sense Sothis? No fucking clue

It would also be an interesting way to discuss the viewpoints, social norms, and morality of both series. With his deposition and ideals, I do think he'd open up a lot of perspectives the students wouldn't have thought about before. I'd think he'd definitely clock Dimitri's tumbril. I'd have him leave before Edelgard starts the siege on Garreg Mach and be ambiguous

(b) Ashe ends up within the One Piece World sometime after Donato's death, Strawhats pick him up during some shenanigans and they help try and get him back home. Ashe is just coming off losing another father and another older familial figure, this could be an escape for him or a way to reignite his passion of justice and adventure again. Also I think his interactions with Nami, Luffy, and Usopp would be really interesting

(c) This time it's Glenn. Typically story of the Agarthans taking him during the battle, experimenting on him/using him as a test subject and he gets shot into OP. There's a million ways you can play with it. I imagine that he ends up on Drum Island and under Kureha's care. This would also have the end goal of Glenn getting back to Fódlan. Though we know some of Glenn's characteristics and a very, very basic backstory if that, he's still very much a sandbox character so writers can play with him however they want.

(d) All of the others are dimension travel so let's talk about one that can possibly work as a fusion. I'm thinking either a duo like Robin and Chopper, Law and Chopper, or just Law deliberately seeking out Fódlan in hopes of learning medical knowledge to help with the Smile Fruits. Why they are deliberately searching for Fódlan? Beats me, maybe something to do with magic and thinking outside the box.

Edelgard x Ashe x Dorothea: I'm going to take a minute to say that Ashethea is criminally slept on by both the fandom and Intys. Two street kids who got lucky one day and were able to leave the gutters behind for a more comfortable life, completely aware of just how delicate their stations are and how they could end up back on the streets at any moment so they're fighting for their dreams while they can? That's just gold star writing potential there.

Sorry it took me a while to answer, but here are my answers !!

Edelgard and Hapi:

I'm not a fan, but that's no fault of the ship. Of course, I appreciate the aesthetic, which might be even better that Lysithea x Edelgard given Hapi's natural dislike towards the Church; but I've just... always kinda struggled to love the Ashen Wolves ? I think it's because I played the DLC well after most people on here, so I had been super hyped up beforehand, but in truth i ended up finding them a bit underwhelming. I never thought Balthus would end up being my favorite out of the four, because he was the first one to flatter Byleth by calling them their professor.

But yeah. Good ship, just me being me. xD

Dorothea and Ashe:

I feel like they'd end up being an overall really wholesome pair, and their aesthetic would also be really nice. I definitely wouldn't be oppsed to see more content about them ! All in all, I do prefer them as friends, though.

Hubert and Ingrid:

The premise of this whole ship seems immensely funny, but I definitely see how it could work. Another impeccable aesthetic given how loyal the both of them are, but how twisted Hubert can be !! I feel like it'd be incredibly refreshing. They'd definitely be an odd pair !!

However, I do think the metaphorical value of Ingrid falling in love with someone from the """"evil"""" side is better conveyed through a ship like Edelgard x Ingrid. It'd be a lot less funny, though.

It focus heavily on Edelgard and the Blue Lions but some other characters like Claude get their own arc too! [Spoilers for everything]

This is a fun scenario so I went ahead and wrote it but in the future, I would prefer that rare pair prompts stuck to the lists provided in the info post. It's easier for me to craft a plot around one of those than to adhere to a specific prompt like this. But thank you for the excuse to write these two! I also learned a lot about archery competitions while doing research lol

"Like this?" Edelgard aimed the bow again.

Ashe shook his head. "No, higher than that."

With a groan, Edelgard lowered the bow and fixed a glare at Ashe. "It might be faster if you showed me what you meant instead of making me guess."

That was probably true, but Ashe was still trying to wrap his mind around how he had ended up in this situation in the first place. One moment he and Edelgard had been discussing axe throwing techniques--

Now he was instructing the Princess of the Empire how to shoot a bow and arrow. And apparently not doing a great job.

Trying to focus on the moment before him instead of puzzling out all the moments prior, Ashe shook his head again and moved beside her. "You need to raise your elbow higher." He demonstrated the proper stance.

Edelgard copied him. "How about this?"

"Almost." Kneeling down, Ashe gently nudged Edelgard's right foot back a bit. Then he stood with a grin. "There!"

"Have I earned the right to hold an arrow now?"

Ashe chuckled. "I think so. Here." He pulled an arrow from the quiver over his back. "So the trick here is to have one finger above the arrow and two fingers under it, but don't hold the bow string itself. When you pull back, try and pull all the way so your thumb is next to your jaw."

Edelgard took the arrow with a slightly stunned expression. "But if my thumb is by my jaw, wouldn't that put the arrow right by my lips?"

"It shouldn't if you do it right. Here, I'll show you."

He let Edelgard ready the arrow, then he moved around to stand behind her. "It's like this," he began. He wrapped his left hand around hers and showed her the correct finger placement, used his other hand to raise her elbow back up into the position from earlier--

And froze.

Because now Ashe was more or less holding the Princess of the Empire.

"Ashe?"

He tensed. "Y-Yeah?"

"What's the next step? I pull it back to my jaw?"

"Yeah. Um. Pull back slowly and I'll tell you when to stop."

Edelgard pulled on the bow string. Ashe held his breath as he helped her make a few adjustments. It was important she didn't hurt herself too bad on this first try-- Ashe's sister had come away with worrying bruises when Ashe had tried to teach the bow her some years ago. If that happened to Edelgard, there was no telling what her reaction would be. Or Hubert's.

Stepping back, Ashe waved a hand to the target across the training yard. "Okay. Go!"

The arrow flew. Ashe watched it sail in the air toward the target-- and catch the very bottom of it. A hit, but only just. Edelgard's face pinched in disappointment. Seeing this, Ashe pulled out another arrow and held it out to her. "Again?" He asked.

"Again," she confirmed, reaching out for the arrow. Her fingers covered his as she took it. They lingered there. "Thank you for this," Edelgard said.

Ashe swallowed. "Y-You're welcome." His voice sounded as shaky as he felt, and he blushed at the realization.

With a smile, Edelgard took the arrow and readied it again. "What can I do better?" She asked.

Mouth dry, heart pounding, Ashe lightly hit both his cheeks before stepping forward again. "You'll get a feel for it eventually. For now, try moving your fingers like this..."
