Did you just put Edelgard, Dimitri and Ferdinand in good social skill? HOW.

Placement is important. To me, good social skills means that they know how to hold a conversation and how to navigate social situations with relative ease. Edelgard, Dimitri, and Ferdinand all (at some point) had education on how to handle themselves socially, how else were they to become leaders?

Personally, I think that the three of them, at least pre time skip, are able to have a conversation with anyone. They don't particularly seem awkward or uncomfortable during these conversations either.

You're totally welcome to disagree with me, I just feel that out of the entire ensemble, they lean more towards having good social skills.

FE3H Family headcanons/expansions - Ferdinand von Aegir

this is part of a series expanding on and making up family interactions for the FE3H students. Some of these will contradict canon, and sometimes we will be filling in gaps that canon does not address

Ferdinand's parents tried for a very long time to have children. After years of trying and failing to conceive, Duke Aegir became desperate and arranged in secret for a surrogate. His wife successfully conceived and had their only child. This becomes the deepest secret of the von Aegir household, held so tightly that not even Ferdinand himself knows (but little escapes the sight of the Vestras, and Hubert's parents told him that Ferdinand is a bastard, in hopes he could use this as blackmail later in life. in the Crimson Flower timeline, Hubert never tells a soul)

So Ferdinand grew up as the only child of his parents who are desperate to maintain their noble status. It is an honor and a privilege to be an Aegir, and every aspect of their daily lives is intwined with the knowledge of their station. Many of the other leaders of the insurrection against the Emperor relaxed after it was successful, but Duke Aegir only doubled down. He strove for perfection, hired the very best tutors money could buy, and instilled in his son a constant need for improvement. Not only personal improvement, but keeping a weather eye on the Imperial line and making sure Adrestia as a whole is on the straight and narrow.

Ferdinand's mother tried to do her best by Ferdinand and taught him the refined manners of the nobility, dancing and courting and tea preparation, courtly manners and letter writing. But she had been quietly uncomfortable with the surrogacy before his birth, and keeping such a secret wore away at her, and she faded away in later years, preferring to spend her time at their country estate instead of under the pressures of the capital noble life. Ferdinand sends her many letters about his life and time at school, seeing her as more of a confidant than his father, but her replies are rare and short.
