hi firstly oh my gosh you're literally so sweet i am gently shaking you i love you so much /p. secondly, i apologize for the long answer! (it's all under the cut. this got away from me. i'm so sorry apparently i have a lot to say.) (also you're so good about the questions i would constantly be asking one of my professors questions during class to the point where she said i didn't have to go "i have a question" every time i approached her)

i've been editing since 2016! around march/april, i think? loved it so much i went into film & video production in college as a major so i could do editing for a living. (i have done more motion graphics for my classmates than i have done edits outside of class assignments, BUT!)

the program i use is after effects - i started learning it when covid first hit the united states because i had nothing better to do with my time (other than music theory but i failed that bc my professor focused more on the history aspects than the actual theory soooo) and my ipad kept giving me the "no more storage" whenever i tried to use videostar lmao. (vs has, apparently, gotten a LOT of good updates, so if you're looking to start editing and have an ios system, i'd look into it! only downside is you have to pay for some of the cool stuff).

also the program i use for masking (i think i explain this later dwdw) is superimpose. i've been using it since 2014 and it's SO nice bc i can use my fingers to erase backgrounds & stuff instead of hoping i can get it to work correctly in ae or photoshop (photoshop my DETESTED i'll use it but i'll complain the entire time).

for people who want to start editing: tutorials on how your program works and how to do specific transitions are gonna be your best friend when you're first figuring things out! i forced a friend to literally walk me through how after effects worked when i was first figuring it out, and when i had swapped to videostar back in 2017/2018(?) i had watched a Lot of tutorials. that and played around a lot and figured things out on my own - which is also always a good way to start!! it's also totally valid to look at other people's edits for inspiration - most editors don't really care, as long as you don't flat-out remake their edit (some people don't like that!). i have a style insp folder on instagram where i save edits that i like so if i need transition ideas or i'm doing a different style, i can look there for inspiration. at the end of the day, as long as you're having fun with it that's all that matters!

also, starting simple is always okay!! my edits for a year were just me slapping gifs & video segments together on a timeline in cute cut pro bc imovie didn't load them lol & it'd crash every time i breathed. ++ it never hurts to ask people for feedback/constructive(!!!) criticism/etc! (also not to sound like everyone else but practice? good. it's so good. if i showed my 14/15y/o self some of the edits i can make now they would've passed out on the spot bc i was still trying to figure out transitions back then. programs can also sometimes make a difference in edits, but usually it's not super noticeable until you start getting to the Complicated Shit.)

a lot of popular programs i've seen are ones like video star (ios only), alight motion (android only), after effects (i recommend 🏴‍☠️ing it tbh, i only use it legally bc i had to use adobe programs for school), capcut, and i think some people still use sony vegas pro & maybe cute cut pro (i've heard it may have actually gotten better since i last used it in 2018)? i have no idea. programs also depend on whatever device you're using to edit on! since i've been using my laptop, i'm able to use after effects (it's computer-only), but when i used my phone/ipad to edit i used ccp & vs.

for the animation - it's a lot of cutting up the image and masking! more complex animations, like the one i had of leo walking down that red 'hallway' have several different layers that have been masked. (i removed the background & filled in the spot where leo originally was in two different apps - superimpose (taking leo out) & photoshop (filling in the bg)) in after effects, the way i've done this was mask out the specific thing i wanted to move (like an eye) and then put that mask on what i've called a "base" (not animated), and then stick a solid behind the base to match the color of the object. (some of my layers are not named appropriately; base 2 is the left arm & the four "SIX_[...]" layers are the mask/bandana tails)

an example of this would be for any of the eye blink animations i did! this (above) is the same shot, with and without the eye - since it's masked out and i have the background solid behind it, it doesn't look too unnatural/have a black outline/mass where his eye should be.

this is what my timeline looks like if it's a more simplistic animation - the only five things being animated here are leo & raph's eyes. (there's only this many layers bc it's two characters in one shot & i was also animating their pupils - typically, an eye-blink animation is about 4-6 layers for me (solid, base, mask, & null to animate with, 6 if i'm animating both eyes & 4 if just one))

in after effects, there's this really cool tool called the puppet pin that one of my friends (lovingly) yelled at me for not knowing about - which. yeah fair she wasn't wrong it's SUPER useful in animating, provided you chop up your image first. if you don't it's a mess.

(separated by layer vs i should've really put the mask tails & leo's head on separate layers and didn't bc that was the 2nd to last animation i had to do and i was losing my mind bc i wanted to be done with the edit lmao)

the way people animate depends all on their style (there's two common ways to do blinking animation - having the anchor point at the bottom of the eye, or the middle of it) and the program they use. it's been a while, but i could probably tell you how to do some basic animations on videostar still even though i've been doing them in after effects for about 2-3years now. ALSO the best way to have an animation be noticeable is to over-exaggerate it/make them Big - which, yes, can mean 'breaking bones' and having the limbs be a little wonky at the start. (if you want it to be realistic though go Just to the point where it looks uncomfortable lmao)

Beauty Maintenance will probably always be on weekends for the stuff that weekly/bi weekly like face masks,manipedis,hair etc!!

Hey Syllll! Long time, no chat! I just wanted to get this off my chest before i go ham trying to figure out what i wanna commission from you soon.

I have been reading Undersource for years now, and i think we've both come a long way since then! God, that feels weird to say, i'm not even old enough to drink yet lmao. But! I am old enough to spend my money responsibly now, which is nuts given that my responsible spending is now aimed at getting art of my blorbos LOL.

You've grown as an artist so much since i first started reading- i think that was around... the pirate arc? Not sure! But i do remember the early days of me having discord, during the EKD server category era. But anyways, i know the way you drew our favorite skeletons was different back then, and it's all gotten so much smoother in that time. You're also (at least seemingly) taking way better care of yourself! You've set boundaries, you've set more time for yourself and not the blog, and you're still happily chugging along, after all these years. Not to mention you're working on this side story now, which i'm fairly certain you've been looking forward to for a while.

How's that sleeping though? Do you still have the sleep cycle of an austalian? Can't say i'm any better, im slowly becoming nocturnal again lol. Some things NEVER change.

Anyways. All this to say: im really proud to have been part of this little community for so long. To see the comic and its artist come so far. I have been taking better care of myself these days! I'm (only sometimes begrudgingly XD) going on daily walks (Pikmin Bloom is really helping with that, I love Pikmin they're so cute), and made some new friends! When I first started this blog I was convinced I had to constantly/frequently produce content, and I time went on I slowly realized that wasn't really viable, so I slowly trimmed down the workloads for better manageability, I'd say it's helped a lot! Even if it may not look like it sometimes XD

There was a point before I adjusted my work schedule where I figured out that I may have been riding a creative burnout for a long while, as when I looked back it felt like my work had begun to visually stagnate. I think at the time I was cramming working on the comic update across only 3 or 4 days (Wednesday/Thursday to Saturday mornings, sometimes down to the wire), with several hours of just constant work (plus any distractions and 3 daily asks) because I was procrastinating so badly X'D I'm still recovering from the visual stagnation, but I'm definitely trying to experiment where I can! I may not be the best at it but I hope I'm improving at least ksjdghLSDGH My current schedule is MUCH more spaced out and much more manageable, spanning Sunday to Friday and broken down into stages for each day, and Saturdays are my designated day off~

As for the side story, it's one I've had around for quite a while and have been excited to finally show off! There were a few people who were interested in it when it was first teased, though I've no idea if they're still around, if they are I hope they're enjoying the story so far as well! 💜

Oddly enough my sleep schedule is no longer on Cthulhu Standard Time SKSDJGHDLG We had a TON of construction going on in the house the past few months and it was way too awkward to sleep with a bunch of strangers either being in or near my room, as well as making a LOT of noise sjkdhgLKSDJG There was a brief section of time where I'd actually go to bed at a "normal" time and get up at like, 9 or 10 am X'D Though it's slowly sneaking it's way into afternoons to 3 or 4 AM after I feed the kitties, kinda like my old college schedule XD

every penny i make and every hour of my day is controlled when my family is in town. i must wake up at 6:30 every day even if I don't go into work until 11, and two days out of the week i have classes that run until 10 pm, so i am getting a non-optimal amount of sleep at least two/5 weekdays. I have been disallowed from taking naps at home for about two years now. They have eyes on my bank account everyday. they "inspect" my room and car everyday. if my car doesn't meet regulation they threaten to take it so i cannot go into work or school. if i do not take my car through a car wash 3/7 days of the week, i get reprimanded. i must have my phone turned off and in the kitchen by 9 latest everyday (i use my laptop in my room afterward but obviously i cant let them catch me) and sometimes it is hidden from me in the morning so that i cannot use it until a list of things is done, often making me late or forcing me to cancel plans. the list is often cleaning up after other people or tasks i couldve gotten done later in the day such as reorganizing the kitchen or trimming all the tall grass around the property that the lawnmower can't reach. i have a curfew 6/7 days of the week. i know its not bad like its entirely liveable but i feel compressed and stressed constantly and i even have this reaction that whenever i hear the garage door opening (meaning my family has come home) i have to make sure the door to my room is open and that im in a different room doing something so they dont think I'm "slacking" or "hiding" even if i was just trying to do homework in my room (sometimes im disallowed from this and sometimes i am not, i can never really tell) and they yell at me like 3 times a day anyway for not spending more time in the living room and hiding from them in my room but they just stress me out so much i want nothing to do with them AUUUUUGH

been a while since i posted anything on here so let me give u guys a lil recap of my life and this little boy i met.

so on august 30th 2023 i apologized for being so inactive because i got a boyfriend (let me tell u im still shocked i made it that far into my teenage years). boy oh boy let me tell you alllll about him.

i met him july 21st 2023 and he asked me to be his gf in the night of august 19th 2023.

we were both dancing and laughing and drinking with our friends and it was the best night of all summer breaks ive ever had. i still cherish these memories and i wish nothing more than to go back and relive it one more time.

ive been together with this boy for about 3 months now and these months have been very much the happiest months of my life. i love him so much, so so much, so much that it scares me sometimes because hes become such a big part of my routine that its impossible for me to imagine not having him with me at all times so either hes gonna be my husband and we´ll say the most beautiful, maybe goofy but still cute vows at the day of our wedding or hes gonna be the biggest, down to earth shattering heartbreak of my entire life.

and i know some of you might say "gosh, chill out.. its ONLY 3 months, wtf are u on, boys come and go bla bla" and yeah maybe ur right but honestly, never in my life have been treated THIS good in just 3 months that it shocks me sometimes because it just feels like weve known each other since wayyyy longer.

his arms are wrapped tightly around your waist, his neck buried into your neck. your hand is tangled within his hair, arms around his neck. you can tell its a little late in the morning by the sun is spilling into your shared bedroom through the curtains. "go back to sleep." jing yuan's voice rings through your ears, causing you to look at him. "dont you have work today?" you chuckled, ruffling his hair a little.

"not important, id rather spend my time with you." he pulled you closer, as if to say don't leave me alone

"i don't think your assistants will be very happy about that." your words caused him to grunt as you laugh at his reaction. "there isnt much work to do anyways.. i did most of it yesterday." he tries to reason, trying to convince you to not force him to go to work.

"please? i just want to spend time with you." his golden eyes peer into yours. "fine, but at least make a good excuse to your assistants." he kisses your cheek at this, settling back into the cold sheets of the bed, away from the sun.

you realise that you still have to get to your own job so you try to shift out of his arms, almost sliding off the bed before your lover's wrist loops around yours to pull you back under the blankets. you sigh as you turn towards him.

"i hate you." you sigh out

"you love me you just don't want to admit it."

"i still need to get ready for my job too you know?" you remind him, causing him to wrap his arms tighter around you again to prevent you from leaving. "don't go, i'll call them and tell them you aren't feeling well. you deserve a break too." he mumbles into your neck, his hair tickling you.

"this is the last time i'm sleeping in with you. i can't keep doing this." you laugh into his chest, his hand runs through your hair as he hums. "go back to sleep, lets just stay like this." you lean your head on his chest as you feel your eyes start to droop again with jing yuan's arm wrapped around your waist.

you woke up to spider shaking you softly, it was bright outside which was something you were not used to since you pretty much spent all your time in the lab

"y/n/n you're the last one up"

"holy shit what? why didn't you wake me up earlier?" you say with a groan

"baby we did or at least tried to, i was the last one to try"

Neteyam come in and starts laughing, you glare at him

"why the fuck are you laughing?"

"no it's just that lo'ak owes me and spider since he said there was no way spider could wake you up, but it looks like he did!" Neteyam says gleefully 

you groan and try and lay back down but spider grabs you

"nuh uh y/n you gotta get up" he says as you continue to struggle against his grasp

2. SO SCANDALOUS

"-ess.. princess. wake up, we need to get ready. kacchans making pancakes right now."

grumbling, she turns over to look at her clock. it's 10:15am, izuku let her sleep in a bit. today, the class was going out to the mall then the arcade to have class bonding time. with everything that's gone on, from the USJ incident and the tension from the sports festival, to the fight with stain (where endeavor unfairly took credit, causing the girl to have a "slight" hatred for him), and even the final exams, having to go against All Might with Bakugo and Midoriya, it was just a lot to handle. they're just kids, and kids need breaks.

walking into the bathroom, the girl began her daily morning routine.

"damn.. i look ROUGH..!" she said as she looked in the mirror. her bonnet looked as if it was trying to run away, her tank top was all twisted up, right boob was up in russia while the left one stayed home in america. she had eye boogers all around and her angel bite piercings were no where to be found.

she slept good.

"you know what... let me just wash my face right now and i'll do everything else after i eat."

her face care routine consists of ; black african soap, witch hazel, hydration drops, and a bit of coco butter.

finishing up and putting away her stray boobs, she found one of bakugos stolen hoodies and made her way downstairs.

"good morning guys!" she greeted everyone, with a slight smile and wave. almost everyone was up, with the exception of a few people.

"its a heating tray, katsu. and yes, that's why i bought them." she bought them for holidays like christmas and american thanksgiving, but since there's 21 kids living in one dorm, it's used more than expected.

"is that my fucking hood?? i've been looking for that for weeks!" bakugo exclaimed, turning around to give the girl a plate so that she could fix her food. "when the hell did you even- whatever.. as long as i get it back."

"erm.. anyways..! so guys, what time are we supposed to be leaving??" asked y/n, going to take a seat next to shoji.

"Well, we're trying to leave for the mall around 12:45 since it isn't far, then leave the mall no later than 4:30-5." yaomomo began to explain. "I was able to rent the arcade from 6:15 to 10:30, food and drinks included, along with lazer tag , and we get the option of going in the bounce area, so when we get there just let me know."

"damn yaomomo... i knew you was stacked but DAMN!!"

"ong, bro's LOADED.."

"i'm calling you if i need to bailed out of jail."

"honestly guys it's not much, i just want us to have fun and relax as a class while being safe!" yaomomo said with a small smile on her face. she was literally loaded, like pockets so deep they could fit 3 gallons of milk each, pockets so swole they need an ice pack, pockets so fat they need they own TLC show type rich. but even so, she didn't like to flaunt her wealth. she'd rather use her money to pay for gifts and events for her friends, rather than to flex some diamond earrings or a gold necklace. She's still a teen girl though, so she still loves to go shopping. The girl is really just happy that she's found friends that actually love her for her, and not for her money.

"sounds like a plan, izuku!" she replied, getting up to grab her plate and bring to the kitchen.

"OoOh y/n~" jirou began to tease. "last night? your room AGAIN? what scandalous activities have you been up to?"

"chill kyo, its not like that! he messed up his hair on his own and we always hang in my room bc its more.. welcoming.. then his."

"i know, y/n! im jus messin' with ya."

with her plate in hand, y/n walked into the kitchen where bakugo resided. he was cleaning and putting away the dirty plates before he started to soak the pans.

"so, the nerd fell asleep in your room again huh?" he asked, washing a plate.

"yeah, he started to doze off a little while after you left, so he slept with me."

"i dont know why you guys dont just ask eachother out yet. you two are basically in love with eachother."

"katsuki, you know how i feel, and you know how zuku is. im pretty sure if he would act the same way with the rest of the class as he acts with us if he just trusted them more." she informed, getting ready to wash her plate before bakugo snatched it.

"don't even try it." ever since they could crawl, they've never let the girl lift a finger. hungry? chef katsuki at your service! scraped your knee? Dr.deku to the rescue! and yes, they know that she's the perfectly capable and well off to do these things on her own, but why should she when she has two men to do it for her?

"anyways. we've all known eachother since literally birth. i see things, i observe things. you two are literally inseparable. im pretty sure y'all first words were eachothers names. you know how you act around him, you see with your own two (or four) eyes the way he acts with you, and im pretty sure he peeps it too. just ask eachother out already and stop being pussies for fucks sake!"

"oh my gosh?? shut the fuck up?? you're so damn loud??" she said, slapping him in the back of his neck.

"aye. try me again and we gotta tussle. i'm not deku. i'll will beat the black off you. i strike so much fear into your melanin pigmentation that it will come to me."

"whatever katsuki, u can run me my ones later, i gotta go help zuku now."

"ight then angel, u better be ready. see ya later."

with that, she finally left the kitchen and headed towards her dorm to meet izuku.

"finally.." the boy sighed. it's now 11:45 am, and they (she) just finished detangling, moisturizing, and somewhat styling his hair. at this point, her fingers and wrists were tired, her back was aching, her feet were sore, and she had the very violent urge to go back to her black roots and pop this nigga with the comb.

"I know damn well YOU not heavy breathing like you did some work. all yo lazy ass did was sit there and watch Netflix. YOU COULDN"T EVEN HOLD THE DAMN SPRAY..."

"I'm sorry, ma. thank you so much, I should've listened to you last night. now do you already have clothes ready? or do you need to pick something out?" he asked, pulling her into a hug and rubbing her back.

".. you better be so lucky i love you. but yes, i need to pick. have u chosen?"

" yup, right before I came to wake you up. so i'll help you if you want?"

There were 5 assassins, most of them did their jobs pretty well. In the next one, it was a piece of cake! But not to Aki, "Okay team, we need to take the life of Kohane Asuzawa. Aki, you pretend to be friends with her, and date her if it's possible, after multiple days of knowing her, unalive her." Aki thought it was easy, so he started doing it.

「~ May 29, 2010 ~」

A girl was walking in Main Street Sekai at 1am. She bumps into a ginger with a yellow streak, and olive green eyes. "Ah.. I'm sorry!" She apologized. The tall, young man named Aki, who's in disguise helped the short girl in blonde pig tails and glasses. "Wait.. You look like a student in Miyamasuzaka Girls Academy." The boy who was so called "Akito" realized and said. The girl who happened to be Kohane, chuckled and blushed. "Hmhm~, indeed I am, are you Airi's friend?" Kohane responded. "Yes.. I am, also, isn't it late for you?" Akito questioned, being concerned for her sleep schedule. "Haha, thanks for the reminder." The girl picked up her stuff and ran away in the cold and pouring rain in the night.

the next day, they found each other in a cafe.

"Oh, hi Akito!" Kohane greeted as he walked in with An. He's confused on how she remembered his name, but didn't mind it anyway. "Uhh,, Shinonome-kun? Who's this?" An asked, going according to plan. "Oh, Shiraishi, this is my friend, Kohane! I met her in the rain last night and-" his mouth gets shut by An's hand, as they're a frenemy dynamic, and Kohane just smiles at them. "Shut up, Shinonome." An savagely shut him out. "Ah.. I'm gonna kill you!" " I'm a lady!"

The fight just happens, and Kohane and Akito become closer.

Akito told almost everyone about Kohanes greatness, and loveliness! It's like her loveliness blossomed to him. He started having a crush on her, he'd never tell, but secretly Kohane wanted him as well.

What about the memories that they've been through? Akito needed the money to rent an apartment to escape with Ena from their father, and he really needed it. So, he tried to text "please.. Can I have an extension?". Len said "no, akito! You'll fall in love more with Kohane!". So on the same day, he went to Kohanes house.

"Hey, Kohane.. I'm sorry, I really am?"

"Shinonome kun? What's going o-"

He stabbed her, after that he's completely in tears, he started hating his team and himself. He silently cried, as he tried to be tough because.. "Men can't cry!" He started having a mental breakdown in the car. Looking at An and Toya having a full and healthy relationship. Oh how Akito wishes Kohane was also an assassin. Blood was mixing with his tears, but thinks of his cringyness. But lets it be anyway.
