Normalize making your good guys poc and the bad guys white bc that's honestly how it is irl
white people go like “is anyone going to redesign this nonhuman evil character as a poc?” and not wait for an answer
#I'm just saying#big hero 6#LITERALLY did it#and it was more accurate and impactful than if the bad dude was just a generic poc man bc big corps can't draw curls worth shit#i mean look at Tiana#the only time she was allowed her hair down was YEARS LATER after her movie came out#learn how to draw poc hair. learn how to avoid stereotypes. and yeah. you're allowed to write people who aren't your race#that's how we get diversity.#the amount of OTHER WHITE PEOPLE “correcting” us on how we suddenly can't write poc bc it's “racist”????#YOU DO REALIZE IT'S MORE RACIST NOT TO HAVE THEM RIGHT???#poc are allowed to have cool powers and be excited and childlike#they're allowed to have their own character quirks and be a little bit rude without being the villain#they're ALLOWED TO BE PEOPLE DAMNIT#stop being weird about it#do the work.#stop trying to rework stereotypes that are made to be harmful#anyways if anyone needs me I'm going to go watch Big Hero 6#and probably The Dragon Prince#and if anyone else has some other recs with poc leads i am absolutely open to them#please give me your recs#i beg#thank you

merlin S1 rewatch: episode 9
let’s move on to ep 1x09 because I need to get on. with my life. I already re-watched this ep months ago and I can’t be arsed to do it again so I’m going to use screencaps and perhaps the transcript to refresh my memory.
kilgharrah warning merlin that excalibur MUST NOT be wielded by anyone but arthur, and merlin handing the sword to uther literally the next morning is so funny to me. it's kind of the same thing that happens with the cup of life, when iseldir tells merlin “hey this is important so don’t lose it okay?” and five minutes later we see the cup rolling down a hill. I love consistent characterisation. please don’t give this boy anything important for safekeeping he has enough on his plate already!!
I think Arthur’s coronet looks a bit dumb but still it’s nothing compared to the horrendous Burger King crown he'll wear as king. why did uther get such a prettier crown. why couldn't arthur just wear his father's crown. so many questions
why did they name the undead knight tristan, was he supposed to be the tristan? I think he was. I think their take on tristan and isolde in S4 was so disappointing btw. anyway moving on
Merlin: Gaius have you seen that knight’s crest before? Gaius: No, I don’t think so. I didn’t see it clearly. Actually I’m not even sure I saw a knight. Perhaps it was a trick of the light or a collective hallucination
Sir Owain: I don’t need luck Arthur: oh fuck he’s going to die
Arthur’s face after Uther holds him back and someone else picks up the undead knight’s gauntlet. so much self-sacrificing acts of bravery and NONE of them done by him. wrong and upsetting
S1 Arthur I'm not sure how to tell you this so I'll just say it. your haircut looks dangerously close to a mullet
Merlin: maybe arson can fix this
Nimueh telling Uther she was his friend!!! fuck season 6 I want a Merlin prequel
he’s a precious baby. he’s shmol. only tiny
gwen doing her whole “you know I'd grant you anything merlin… I mean, not anything! haha” meanwhile merlin is too worried about keeping arthur alive to notice. GIRL HE'S BUSY
WHY. who stands like this
he holds this stupid pose the entire time morgana is talking to him. imagine begging someone not to commit suicide while they brood and look out of the window like a sullen byronic hero. I would have pushed him out of the window. drama ass bitch
this is the second nighttime encounter between uther and gaius in this episode. uther saying goodbye to gaius before going to fight in arthur’s place. toxic yaoi. is this anything
YOU KNOW NOTHING YOU STUPID CHILD. I love that Kilgharrah is a hater and a bitch. to be fair to him he spent 20 years in solitary confinement so he's earned it
gaius drugging arthur then gently helping him into his bed is hilarious. he’s so good at lying and drugging people. big fan of gaius using his evil talents for the greater good, or just to have a laugh sometimes which is equally valid
what a fine blade you have there… it would be a shame if something were to happen to it
he’s wearing silver bracelets!! plural!!
[Enter Arthur, visibly furious]
Gaius [gathering his things]: I've just remembered I've left something on the stove. I must go right now immediately
Arthur [while Gaius scurries away]: YOU HAD GAIUS DRUG ME??
arthur and uther little father and son moment was cute ngl
there are a few more scenes until the end but I don't have much to say about them except that I love gaius and merlin's relationship
Gaius: [stares loudly] Merlin: [pretends not to notice]
#a very serious commentary of ep 1x09#rewatch1.jls#merlin's body count: still 4#I'm sorry about the horrible wide spacing it is tumblr's fault

This post contains spoilers for ep 6 of daryl dixon
so finally watched ep 6 (the last one of the series) and let me tell you: it's bad. AdNag was wonderful, his hair were perfect, his face so kissable. 100% the highlight of the episode.
Anyway quinn dies (we knew it. let's not pretend we didn't) he get bitten by a zombie during the arena fight and in his last conversation as human he asks daryl to tell isabel he helped them an all. jesus christ, you're dying can you be less of a simp?
so let's talk about this episode for a minute. first half is them escaping the zombies in the arena (which daryl dixon has barely any difficulty in doing. he even lift one with a pole. really.) then the militia guys (was enough to fire one shot at random and they run away) and then our heroes were back on the road just to have the most nonsensical 5 minutes in the history of plots: does anyone remember the militia guy that wanted to avenge his brother so bad that in looking for dixon he got at least 40 people killed? the same guy that was cheering for a zombie to eat off dixon's face 3 minutes ago? that guy that was shown as the right hand of the boss? well after 5 episodes of murder after finally having dixon at the end of his gun he decided he wasn't going to kill him. bc he didn't want to kill laurent apparently, but the 20+ dead nuns is fine? the other innocents from the club? the paris commune? they can die. it's fine if he doesn't want to kill the kid but daryl dixon was right there, why not kill him?
second half of the episode they reach the nest and it's maybe the nicest sequence in the show so far. not enough that i can forgive everyone being dressed like background characters from a 40's movie or a group of french people picking the token american aboard student as their leader or everyone still speaking english for daryl or these people needing daryl to teach them how to use a rifle. but okay at least the sequence was nice. i don't believe that nuns taught laurent about aristotele but okay. i still have some suspension of disbelief left. at this point the people from the nest found daryl a lift home (kinda) and there's a ship waiting for him on the coast of Normandy. You know what we just found out? that dd's granpa died on the coast of normandy during ww2 and daryl sniffs on his grave even tho he never met the man and had a bad relationship with his dad. it feels like the american writers of this show had a list of things americans and french had in common and ww2 was the only thing left. anyway laurent then shows up from a dune and waves at daryl and idk it's implied daryl will take him to america? this kid only has bad ideas.
at the end of this season i can say this was the first draft for the show. not one single character has an arc. characters were underdeveloped, they had no solid background for their personalities. bad guys were bad until the plot needed them not to be. and those who were bad were bad just because. Genet she was a night guard at the museum and now she's leading a militia, i'm not saying it's impossible, i'm saying that without seeing even a glimpse of her character evolution she feels hollow. the guy wanting to avenge his brother does a 180 in a minute, killing 4 of his men. what is the journey there? he could've been a great character development, if he got developed in any way. Quinn, went form british living abroad (job still unknown) to nightclub owner that simped for Isabelle for 12 years but never ever in all this time looked for her once. and now that he died nobody cared, they made the big reveal that he was laurent's father and he was the ONLY person laurent showed no sympathy to?? Isabelle, laurent and the other nun, they saw everyone they lived with die and were okay, no faltering in faith, no grief. no lets go on with the plot. the other nun cared so little that she left them when they needed help the most and joined back when the risk was over. like?? girl what? I want to talk about laurent, he never questions he's god on earth, everyone told him he's special and in all his journey he never doubted for a second that he wasn't even if so far more people died than how many he helped. he saw murder, violence, hunger, pain, living dead and he didn't care at all. and now daryl dixon, i started the series knowing nothing about him and now the only thing i know is that he's the typical grunts not speak no friends type. zero connection with his character. he went throughout another tuesday of killing zombie and people and what bothered him the most was that everyone was speaking french.
this series gets a 4/10
#was about to say 3/10 but adnag was there#he couldn't save them. adnag was there but it wasn't enough to make them write a good plot#daryl dixon#adnag#adam nagaitis#show's over folks let's pack and go home

So i just started OUAT and i binged seasons 1 through 6 in like a month. Now i am at season 7 and it feels like it doesn’t belong with the rest. Please tell me i am not the only person in this fandom that feels this way. Lucy & Alice are gonna be my favourites in season 7, i can tell, but like- I'm so angry 😭😭😭 season 7 is like if someone tried to complete jigsaw puzzle with a lego piece. Its like when you are collecting books in a series but the publisher decides to change cover designs and scrap the old covers while you’re in the middle of collecting and now the bloody books on your shelf don't even match. 😭😭😭 Im sorry i know I'm being dramatic but- 🫠 Also season 6, why did they hype up the black fairy to be this GREAT evil, but i feel like they rushed that plot-line, and she was super easy to defeat. I mean, peter pan was more of a challenge, he made rumple and the hero gang go THROUGH IT, but black fairy couldn’t even top that and she's played out to be stronger. The writers basically gave it their all seasons 1 through half of season 6, (until black fairy's plot) and then they went "f**k it." Another issue i have is the hyping of some characters to be these great forces, and they go down faster than an asthmatic with a flu. (Mother superior, Jafar, Ursula, Cruella, The Author.) Especially blue fairy, they hype her like she’s the big boss of the faeries and they go to her with all their problems but she either says “this magic is too powerful for me to counter it.” Or something along those lines or she keeps getting cooked. Girl…. How do you still have your job? Someone needs to fire her blue ass. Granny could take her in a fight and Im willing to put money on it. 😭 Anyway, rant over, if you answer thank you because i really need to be validated and not feel crazy right now, but if you don't answer and my rant gave you a chuckle thats all well and good too. 💗💗💗
Hey Nonnie!!
You are not alone. I know a lot of the fandom has only watched the seventh season once and that was their first watch-through. A lot of people could not even make it through that season since it was so jarringly disconnected. If you are looking for a bit of history about it - a lot of the contracts expired after season six and with Jennifer Morrison not renewing, the focus shifted from Emma’s story to whatever the main story behind season seven is and it... well...
“It’s like when you are collecting books in a series but the publisher decides to change cover designs and scrap the old covers while you’re in the middle of collecting and now the bloody books on your shelf don't even match.
It is exactly like that.
I, personally, have mixed emotions about the sixth season. We get some very, very good Captain Swan moments that I am a sucker for because I really enjoy established couples having good moments and OUAT did not give screentime to peaceful, calm moments for any pairing. But, we also get that Hook murdered David’s father while he was meant to be in Neverland, but he was actually being a land pirate (notably not a highwayman) in Misthaven. And we get the entire saviour’s curse thing, the evil part of Regina being something that can be and was separated from her rather than a real redemption story for Regina, and the plastic pin villains that you could knock down with a breeze - no bowling ball required!
BUT... having written a few stories with some thrilling baddies and such of my own, I must admit that it is so, so difficult to straddle the line between a good villain that is properly scary and defeating them in a way that doesn’t feel cheap afterwards. I always feel like I let people down once I’ve revealed how the villain is defeated, so I guess I cannot complain too much without being something of a hypocrite.
Granny was such an underutilised hero. She absolutely could have knocked the fairy down a few notches had anyone given her the chance. Maybe someone should tackle a fix-it fic for season six and give us that scene.
Thank you so, so, so much for the ask/rant/thoughts. I adore them so much and hope that you know you are not alone and brought up some very valid thoughts with your very valid emotions.
xoxo

Thanks for the tag bestie!
Last Song
Snowflake by The Hoosiers. They're releasing new music again for the first time since like 2015, and I'm so pleased about it :). Big win for the mid 2010s 8tracks fandom playlist girlies.
Currently Watching
Bigtop Burger! It has been a shockingly long time since I've watched any actual movies or TV, but the season 2 finale of Bigtop Burger by Worthikids came out yesterday, and I have been losing my mind over it a little bit.
Bigtop Burger is a youtube series and it's very short (the longest ep is 6 minutes, and most of them are under 4), so it's super easy to get into. Season 1 is a goofy comedy about a clown-themed food truck, and the last couple episodes of season 2 will rewrite your brain.
Currently Reading
I'm actually between books right now! I just finished rereading The Ballad of Black Tom by Victor Lavalle, which was just as brilliantly effective the second time through. Genuinely a must-read for anyone into Lovecraft.
Next on the tbr pile is Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. I haven't started it yet, but I liked the first episode of the TV adaptation, and I loved Gone Girl by the same author, so I'm anticipating a very good time.
As for web novels, I'm still making my way through the last book of Silent Reading/Mo Du by Priest. It's a good story and I like the characters (especially Fei Du), but I can't recommend it to others without a huge grain of salt for copaganda reasons. It's an interesting and impressively intricate crime drama, but at the end of the day, it falls into the same pitfalls as the rest of the police/crime genre.
Current Obsessions
I have a massive collection of webcomics that I've bookmarked as "to read later," and I've been devoting huge amount of my time the past couple weeks to actually reading all those collected tbrs. I hope you're ready to hear me scream about my web comic obsession.
A special shoutout goes to Countdown to Countdown by Velinxi, which is hands down my favorite of my recent reads. It's set in the not so distant future, in a vaguely post-apocalyptic society where a huge chunk of the population now has various superpowers. The main character is the son of the director of a culty prison tower that offers people with powers safety from the dangerous outside world on the condition that they act as though they're powerless. That main character wants out from that condition.
CtC's art is utterly stunning, and the story is a ton of fun (with a delicious amount of absolute heartbreak). You wanna read this comic so bad.
This post will be a mile long if I fully explain all the other things I've recently read and adored, so here's a speed round of the recent highlights (so far) from my web comic folder:
Ingress Adventuring Company by kayartics. A D&D-inspired fantasy about what happens to a powerful but messy wizard decades after he and his party save the world.
Going to Weather by SJ Costello. A ghost story set on a whaling ship.
The Property of Hate by modmad. The story of a young girl recruited to become a "hero" and save a literal world of imagination (and the story of the monster who recruits her).
Broken by Kristina Caruso. A fantasy horror about a psychic zombie and a fairy super-soldier trying to survive in a world of eldritch abominations and military dictatorships.
Wilde Life by Pascalle Lepas. A supernatural horror/slice of life about a man who moves to rural Oklahoma and discovers that his new home is overflowing with the paranormal.
Read more indie webcomics for the love of god. The creators need the support and these fantastic stories need to be enjoyed by more people. I'm never going to shut up about web comics.
Anyway now that I'm done getting carried away, here's tags (and feel free to ignore if you don't want to do this of course). @torterrachampion @halloweentual @travelingneuritis @reloaderror @helpfulbug @brushbugs @grelleswife and @96kyirah. The last tag goes to anyone else I didn't tag that wants an excuse to join in :)
9 people you'd like to know better
ty @haasegawa for the tag !!! so sorry i didn't get around to this sooner qwq
Last song: mine
Currently watching: very slowly finishing pokemon journeys, leon is so delicious
Currently reading: stormbringer except it's taking forever because i have the jp and en versions and i'm reading both at the same time
Current obsession: bsd in general, particularly fixated on soukoku and the next gen fic that i'm writing
tagging : @cyber-seaweed @xarlutye @cinammonelles @cyrafoam @severaltuesdays @frostlineprince @bimalewife (first mutuals on the list ty for following!), and @sweebat @killjoy-prince !
#sorry I'm incapable of not gushing and recommending when I talk about the things I like. and hence I am incapable of brevity#I was thinking about making a big webcomic recommendation post. and I still might bc I left a LOT out of this one#but this really gave me an opportunity to run wild lmao#ALSO @prev cinammonelles I had no idea you were reading tai sui!!#I'm so pleased my propaganda is working lmao#you gotta (if you want) tell me what part you're at#invasion of the frogs#long post#tag meme

Rating different sapphic ships for marvel women cause I'm bored. Some ships are mcu based most are comic based
First up Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff
1. Sharon carter - Widow13/Natsharon
9/10
they're adorable, friends to lovers. I love the way they are always complementing each other like sharons saying "but her speed still impress me" or mcu nat in tws saying she was nice, honestly mcu nat seemed more into sharon than mcu steve. Also they got 7th for a comic sapphic ship poll w over 6000 votes, so true of them
2. Bobbi Morse -bobbinat/mockingwidow
10/10
stealing clints wife, literally. There's panels of nat calling bobbi darling. They actually kissed in canon but it was just so nat could give bobbi medicine since she was under influence. After Bobbi gained control of herself again she told bucky to tell nat and I quote from bucky himself "she said to call her if you were still "curious", and clint got all defensive." Anyways they need to kiss again but for real this time.
3. Jessica drew - jessnat
7/10
Caroljess is my #1 but this is also cute. Spider x spider. They had rlly cute moments in secret avengers and avengers assemble(2013). Including this one where nat says jess is her soulmate and those panels of where they get a massage together. In one spiderwoman comic where jess was pregnant they almost had a movie night together until someone interrupts
4. Marina
6/10
Marina is natasha childhood best friend. They met in the red room and sometimes they escaped to watch ballerinas dance. When they got older(1960s?) they had a mission together but the handlers thought Marina was going to deflect from the red room so after the mission they had Natasha put k!ll Marina, nat almost doesn't do it but in the end...anyways they were adorable up until the end. Marina should be referenced again cause the only comic w her is Black Widow 2014
5. Maria hill - blackhill/marianat
9/10
Enemies to lovers to Enemies to lovers to Enemies to...Invincible iron man has major blackhill angst I swear ("but maria hooked up w tony in it" no) their relationship is confusing lowkey one minute they're protective of each other next minute they're bullying one another. But either way Invincible iron man and Black widow 2014 made some big blackhill points. Maria turning to nat cause she was the only one she could trust. Nat comforting maria when she had ptsd flashbacks. Maria saying that nat is the only one she can trust. Taskmaster 2021 where maria faked her death without telling anyone and the blame was put on taskmaster so u have natasha going after him to avenge her. U see taskmaster dialog "bullseye thinks that if u kill the heros girlfriend, their wife or partner or whatever, then you've got an edge on them. But all that does is get them.to come after you harder than ever. I've adopted a 'no wives, no girlfriends, no mothers' policy. Not just because it's gross. Though it is. No, it's because these heros, these guys...it always seems that all they are waiting for is one dead woman to motivate them" what's a hetero explanation for that?!? Nat is literally chasing this man down all throughout the comic and taskmaster is scared sh!t less, the only reason she doesn't kill him is because right before she does maria reveals herself to nat that she's alive. I only put it as 9/10 cause I'm not the biggest on Enemies to lovers plus there was those times where maria does make nat sheilds biggest enemy...
6. Elektra
6/10
They definitely hate f*cked once u can't convince me otherwise. Hate the whole "fighting over matt" thing though
7. Carol danvers - carolnat
5/10
I perfer them as friends but they do have some nice moments.
8. Janet van dyne(not hope)
5/10
I also perfer them as friends(not that ive rlly seen a lot of ppl ship them). They have a cute friendship in black widow and marvel girls
9. Wanda maximoff- wandanat
??/10
They have a total of 5 interactions mcu and comics combined. I see the vision but at the same time they both have better ships
10. Peggy carter - Peggynat
2/10
I see where you're coming from w the what if but I can't stand peggy for whatever reason. Like I won't go online and comment hate on her but I just choose to ignore her. If u ship tho go ahead tho it's legal and not toxic
I think I've covered all of natashas sapphic ships, or at least all the bigger ones. Some.of these probably sound rlly confusing...I'll probably do captain marvel or she hulk next
#marvel#mcu#natasha romanoff#black widow#sapphic#lesbian#comics#marvel comics#sharon carter#natsharon#bobbi morse#jessica drew#spider woman#maria hill#blackhill#elektra#carol danvers#captain marvel#janet van dyne#wanda maximoff#scarlet witch

Pedro Pascal and Lena Headey
Head to head interview
Hunger Magazine, Issue 6. Released December 28, 2014. Photoshoot October 15, 2013.
Thirteen million. That's the number of people, on average, who tuned into each episode of the third season of Game of Thrones. Among them was Chilean actor Pedro Pascal, who was as enthralled by the sex and slaughter as the rest of us. But little did he know that within a few months he'd be pitching up on the shores of Belfast to join the cast as Oberyn Martell, affectionately known as the Red Viper. Sound ominous? It is. The Red Viper is GoTs newest anti-hero, “sexy and charming but driven by hate”. Sounds like he'll be right at home.
Pedro, on the other hand, though he looks good on paper, wasn't the obvious choice for the role. Expecting a big name to ride into King’s Landing, the show's fans took to forums to express their concerns as soon as the news broke. So is he worried? Like hell he is. “The fans had the part cast in their minds already. They knew who they wanted and it certainly was not me. But I'm not stupid, | presumed that people were going to say ‘who the fuck is this guy’. Since I anticipated the reaction it didn't throw me off.”
“There are so many different ways to go into battle with yourself when you're trying to get a job. I felt a certain amount of pressure because I wanted to make everyone happy. The fan base is so specific and, as a fan myself, I understand the relationship that they have with the show. The Red Viper is the best part I've ever played, and in season four shocks come at the most unexpected times. You might think you know, but you have no idea,” he explains.
Looks like the Red Viper could be in line to fill a Walter-White-sized-hole in television, but to test the theory we pit Pascal against Lena Headey, aka the Queen. Because if you can come away from Cersei unscathed, you can handle anything.
LH: So, Pedro, you come into Game of Thrones in season four, playing a pretty major character. Does that fill you with joy or dread?
PP: I'd say it fills me with joy because it’s a really fucking fun part. He’s a badass. He comes up against a lot of the main characters in the show. I'm very aware of the show. I watch it like a fan.
LH: Were you a fan before you arrived in Belfast?
PP: Yeah, I was a proper fan. I was caught up in the drama of it before I even auditioned for the part. I was already up to speed.
LH: I remember meeting you and thinking, “he fucking loves the show’.
PP: I kissed your ass.
LH: Well, it worked. We're friends now.
PP: I was like a tourist visiting the set, and yet I had to act with you and be in a scene with the characters that I had such a specific association with already.
LH: So you’re saying it’s boring?
PP: No, it wasn’t boring at all. It was extremely, relentlessly surreal.
LH: And who were your favourite characters up until that point?
PP: Not you.
LH: I realise that!
PP: There are too many characters to have a favourite, but I was fascinated by the Lannisters because they're so frightening. They scared me and then you would come in and pull sympathy from your audience somehow, and I found that rather fascinating. The Northerners were so easy to like or get behind, but it was quite something to see people sympathise with a Lannister, after you made people see things from their perspective.
LH: Speaking of being slightly ambiguous as a character, you come in as a major player and a very well-loved character in the eyes of people who read the books, and he’s somewhat of an anti-hero. Did you base him on anyone?
PP: What does an anti-hero mean exactly?
LH: It means he doesn't wear deodorant, doesn't it? [Laughs]. Someone you shouldn't champion, but you do, like Walter White in Breaking Bad.
PP: No, | didn’t really base him on anyone.
LH: Did you take anything from classic movies that you thought you could use and spin to your advantage playing the Red Viper?
PP: God, that’s a good question. I probably did subconsciously. Now I feel under the spotlight because I need to think of somebody, and I have so many in my mind! I think that’s something that is happening a lot in TV today: the anti-heroes are central to these television shows, and people are really getting behind them, even though they're not necessarily the most moral characters. So I'd say that ‘ve become more familiar with the character who's obviously very flawed but gets you on their side — you have complicated feelings about them. But I think I saw the story too much from this character's perspective to perceive any flaws.
LH: He has some.
PP: I know, from the outside. But I don't see any of them. What are his flaws?
LH: His flaws? He's a dirty bastard!
PP: Why is he a dirty bastard? He likes to fucking fight, for sure.
LH: Back to you as an actor. You've done it for a long time and, as we all know, the path is not always golden, and sometimes you think, “fuck it” and you want to leave it and do something else. Have there been moments where you wanted to give up?
PP: Yes, there have been moments where I came very close to giving up. But I never had anything to fall back on. I think you can understand that.
LH: Because were stupid?
PP: We're stupid.
LH: I can't even make pizza!
PP: We don’t have any other skills.
LH: None at all!
PP: And that’s the odd conundrum. You get to a point where you think, “This isn’t going to happen. This isn’t sustainable. I'm too exhausted, and it can't be good for me.” There were moments where I truly did try to formulate an idea of what I'd do. I thought I'd go back to school, start pre-med again and go to medical school or something like that.
LH: But that didn't happen, you just thought about it?
PP: Yes, I'd have thoughts, but it was still fantasy really. But at the time it felt like a practical life plan. Do you know what I mean?
LH: Yeah of course, you need to pay the fucking rent.
PP: Exactly. You just try to escape from the chaos of what you're feeling by trying to create order in your life. Order seems like a solution to save you from the pain of acting!
LH: It's a mental pain. Who was the first person you called when you got the role?
PP: My sister.
LH: Does she watch the show?
PP: Yes, she does.
LH: Pedro Pascal... or Pablo as I called you when I had too much wine, which was deeply insulting.
PP: Even family members have done that to me! Do I look more like a Pablo? Because it happens with about ninety-five percent of the people I meet.
LH: No, I think I’m just an ignorant drunk person.
PP: No, you were an ignorant drunk person that night is what you're saying.
LH: And now I’m educated.
PP: [Whispers] But | want you to call me Pablo.
LH: Ok, Pablo! When you first arrived on set in Northern Ireland, what was your feeling showing up to a bunch of British actors? Did it feel different to doing an American project?
PP: Yes, but I loved it. It wasn’t intimidating. I found it surreal because I’d watched and loved the show. I hadn't had the opportunity to work on something that I was really familiar with before, so it was overwhelming. But it was far more delightful than intimidating. Also you guys were really cool. Everyone was friendly.
LH: Oh, that’s just fake.
PP: Well, you guys were good at it!
LH: We know Game of Thrones is very popular obviously. Do you have any thoughts, or fears, about what this is going to bring you in terms of exposure?
PP: I have hope.
LH: Oh, God. I don’t mean to shatter that, but give it up.
PP: I don’t know really. It’s all been filmed, and now I'm back to my normal routine, so I haven't really thought about it. I remember when we finished filming and we were on our way to the airport, you asked me, “How does it feel you're all done?” and I couldn't really answer.
LH: You were quite emotional that day.
PP: I was very emotional because I’d had such an amazing time doing the part. Also just being there immersed in the experience... You described it to me best. You told me how I'd be feeling.
LH: We don't know your character's backstory when you enter the show, and you have some rather brutal scenes. Anyone who has read the books will know what I’m talking about.
PP: My character comes in, he stirs a bunch of shit up, and then he makes this fucking enormous exit. Now can | ask you a question?
LH: What is it? I’m not going to sleep with you. Give it up.
PP: Oh, come on! This has gone to shit and it’s your fault, so good luck to whoever has to edit it! But anyway, sometimes I'd hang out with the cast members and we'd go to dinner and they would get stopped constantly. There was no denying who they played because they were so recognisable, but you got away with it because you have this beautiful blonde wig on in the show, and in real life you are...
LH: Grey?
PP: {Laughs] No! You have beautiful chestnut hair! Is it liberating to not be recognised the way some of the other cast members are?
LH: Yes, it is liberating.
PP: Liberating being able to walk down an alley in Dubrovnik without being stopped?
LH: Yes, except sometimes | get recognised in the weirdest places. A woman was emptying my bag at Heathrow Airport's security gates and just went, “Are you the Queen?” while rummaging through my underwear. It was so fucking weird.
PP: It seems they're more respectful to you?
LH: Because they're frightened. Wait until they meet the Viper.
PP: Well, that covers it.
LH: I think we're going to get our own show out of this, you know

Making a new post because the other one was glitching so much it wouldn't let me reblog
Firstly @limetimo hii friend!!! Thanks for tagging me!!
Secondly how could you take quest for Camelot before me I used to run around my house singing On my father's wings and tripping over furniture so much as a child
Anyway my top seven comfort movies in no particular order:
1. The sound of music
What can I say? I'm a simple girl, I see Julie Andrews I simp.
*clears throat*
2. Mamma Mia
ABBA music + Meryl Streep + overwhelming nostalgia need I explain any further?
3. Dirty dancing
Look it's a little cringe I know, but on the other hand I don't care, the soundtrack is iconic, so is the dance, my cousin (who I hero worshipped) showed this movie to me when I was 10 and nobody puts Baby in a corner
4. Hoodwinked
Japeth the singing goat should be a tumblr sexyman, no I do not take constructive criticism
He's not even a big part of the movie but he's 90% of the reasons I watch it
5. What's up, doc?
Barbra Streisand in her youth? Spectacular
Five identical bags? Swapped
Chaos? Unleashed
Hotel? Trivago
But seriously go watch that movie I cry with laughter every time I watch it but it's so much better with friends
6. Groundhog Day
I mean this one actually became a trope and I've seen it in half the shows I've watched. We wouldn't have Mystery Spot without it and the world would have been poorer for it.
7. Monty Python and the holy grail
Can you tell I was raised on comedies? I was. My dad and I randomly do the bridge scene every once in a while, it's fun
Tagging: @uncomfortablecoconut @justeasing @thatlesbianscorpio @noodles-07 @nadzhaf @adorable-and-amazing @anyone who wants to do this

A selection of mini fics featuring Scott…
Cornered
Mentions Scayo.
Scott Tracy, leader of International Rescue and sworn protector of his little brothers, was now the one in danger, and in desperate need of help.
His situation?
He had found himself unexpectedly cornered, his adversary staring right at him, their beady eyes refusing to move from his.
There was no way for him to reach his only exit without his foe spotting him, and possibly pouncing on him before he had reached freedom.
What should he do?
He could call for help, but that was beneath him. He had always handled everything he faced with courage, determination, and had never backed down. However, this opponent was different, this was the scariest one he had ever had to face, and its eyes had still remained on his. Watching everything he did, watching every eye blink, every minute flinch he made.
‘Oh god,' he inwardly whimpered, 'there was no way out of this, he was going to be stuck here forever…'
Just then, the door that his assailant was blocking edged open, and to Scott Tracy's relief Kayo peered through. Her eyes widening in shock and concern at seeing him cowering in a corner, then rolling with disbelief and amusement when they fell on his attacker.
"Geez Scott," Kayo giggled, scooping the spider into her hands and immediately letting it out of the bathroom window, "anyone seeing you would think you had been caught by the Hood!"
"The Hood I can handle… That beast however," Scott shuddered, gazed towards the window, and then looked back at Kayo, "has he definitely gone?"
"Yes."
“Are you sure?" He questioned, while standing himself up and wrapping his bath towel ever tighter around himself.
“I'm absolutely certain," Kayo replied, trying to hide her laughter while placing her arm around his back and leading him out of the bathroom, "now," she added with a sly look at the towel that was covering his naked form, "how about you drop that towel, and get into bed… Your hero really wants a cuddle.
3 more mini fics beneath the cut
Scott's 5 Golden rules on being a big brother.
1. Always, and I mean always keep your eyes open! (Especially if you have a younger brother called Gordon!)
2. You can tease your own little brothers. (Only if they know it's in jest!) However, if anyone teases them, or hurts them in anyway. Then advise that person to run!
3. Always expect the unexpected. (Again, especially if you have a brother named Gordon!)
4. Expect to go grey young! I found my first grey hair the other day. (Yeah … It's because I have a brother named Gordon!)
5. Prepare yourself to be damn proud! I know I am very proud of all four of my brothers in every single way! (Yes … Even Gordon! … Man, I love my little squid!)
Thoughts on being a big brother.
I've always been a big brother. Well, technically I was an only child until I was 2 years old but I don't remember those early years. According to my grandma, I took to brotherhood like Gordon takes to water!
I was a natural and I remember I was always very attentive of John. Well, I had to be! He was always so quiet and his first words weren't until he was 2 … Well, I say first words, when in fact, the first thing he said was a whole sentence! I'll always remember my mom and dad being really annoyed every time someone brought up their concerns about John. They were always very polite and assured them that John was an intelligent little boy who would only speak if he felt it necessary to do so ... Then they would utter a few other choice words behind their backs! Which I would join in on … Well, no one was going to put down my little brother! One time, they heard me, and yeah, well, they were very careful with what they said around me after that!
The second time I became a big brother was a very important milestone for me. I was already 6 years old and John was 4. I remember taking it upon myself to become a mentor to John, and teach him the art of being a responsible and caring older brother. I imparted that much information to him, that in the end John was terrified! He was constantly scared that he would never be as good as me, that he would do something, or say something wrong and hurt his little brother. When Virgil finally arrived (Three weeks late! … Lazy Arse! … Ha, he knows I love him really!) John was fantastic and I was extremely proud at how well he had handled everything. The third and fourth time, I was 8 and then 11. So, those times I could pass on the golden rules of being a big bro without scaring Virgil and Gordon half to death and, yeah, they both did me proud, and still do to this very day!
Since I was 13 my role as a big brother as changed dramatically! The first time it changed was when we lost our mom in an avalanche, dad was devastated and drifted into his own world for a few months. So, I stepped up and became like a second parent to my four younger brothers, they needed me to be strong for them and I was… Until grandma realised what was happening, stepped in, and pulled my dad back from the brink. It was only then that I felt could properly grieve for the loss of my mom.
The second time was just two short years ago, when our dad disappeared. Even though grandma was with us, I could see she was struggling herself, and didn't want to lay too much pressure on her. So, once again I stepped up and as well as a big brother, I also became a second father (Although no one can ever replace our dad!) and head of international rescue. I personally don't feel like I've taken to the roles of parent and leader too well, although my grandma and my brothers keep assuring me that I have.
My final thoughts are that, even though throughout my 27 years my role as an older brother as developed and changed in many ways … And as always, constantly kept me on my toes … There is one thing I would never do… I would never, ever wish to be an only child!
Reunion
…The white gate swung open; a large bag hung effortlessly over his shoulder as he strode confidently through…
He’d missed his family: His dad’s long talks, Alan’s infectious smile. Gordon’s laughter. John’s soothing voice. The sound of Virgil’s piano filling a room. Grandma’s warm hugs - even her cooking. Although, he was well aware that he would most likely get sick pretty quickly if he were to indulge.
…A small rock was lifted, a smile at the key hidden underneath…
Yes, he had enjoyed the freedom of being away and the thrill that came with his deployment. Nevertheless, it had been too long.
…Soundlessly he turned the key, then opened the door…
A beaming smile immediately lit his face – He had dreamt of this moment: The aroma of burnt cookies, mixing with the warmth of his father’s famous roast dinner.
…Swiftly he crept inside, and slipped into the gap underneath the stairs…
Animated chatter from Gordon and Alan in the lounge. His dads booming laugh. Grandmas commanding voice calling them all into the dining room. John’s light footsteps when he made his way downstairs, followed by the louder heavier footed sound of his other brother Virgil.
…He tiptoed out of his hideout…
It was thanksgiving. He had missed the last two years, and as far as they were aware, he would be missing this one too.
…Softly he stepped towards the open doorway…
Their voices exuberantly filled the air. Each recounting an accomplishment, a happy moment from that year, an aspiration for the future, and a special wish that he was safe and would return home soon.
…He strode through the doorway…
“I hope there is enough food for me?”
A succession of “Scott!” reverberated through the ranch, followed with buoyant cheers and sobs of joy as he was held close and looked at and talked too.
…After explanations given, eventually he was allowed to sit down, and with a bright smile deliver his own thanks…
And he was grateful…
Grateful that he had been given an opportunity to save the lives of others, even though at times he was scared for his own. Appreciative for the good he had seen, although there were things he would like to forget. He had grown, from a boy who was curious about everything into a man. Stronger. Wiser. Eyes more open to the world. However, this moment, right now, eclipsed every life changing event he had experienced, and he now knew that whatever the future may hold it would be surrounded with his family.

OHSHC Rewrite: Episode 1
Starting Today, You Are a Host!
Host Club x reader
Summary: Y/n meets new people and fall into a whole new world.
Warning: mentions of past trauma
Word Count: 4.4k
Episode Masterlist
Nerve wracking. This was very nerve wracking. It was one thing to go to a school full of rich people, but it was another for it to be in a different country. Though you felt nervous, this was a giant step into a new life.
You had highlights dyed in your hair for a while now, but didn't know if the school allowed it, so you hid it up in a beanie with only your bangs peaking out. You also didn't know if they allowed crop tops, which was what you had on right now due to your unattended laundry, so you put a big sweater on to hide that as well.
Everyone stared at you. You expected nothing less, considering you weren't wearing a school uniform. You kept your head low and your mouth shut, though it was starting to bother you to have all those eyes on you for no reason. It's rude to stare.
After school you wanted to find a quiet place to study. All three of the huge libraries were noisy, for some reason, so you ventured into trying to find an empty room. There was a music room that looked uninhabited, so you opened the door.
"Welcome to the Ouran Host Club."
A gush of wind came and you stepped inside to see 6 guys standing there, greeting you.
"Oh." One of the twins said. "It's just a guy."
"Host Club?" You quietly asked. "Um, I'm sorry! I didn't know this place was occupied. Sorry."
You turned and reached for the handle, only for both twins to lean on each of your shoulders.
"You said sorry twice." The said in unison.
"I'll just leave now—"
"You must be the foreign honor student, Mr. Y/l/n."
You looked back at the boy with the glasses giving you a small smile. "I'll ignore the Mr part for now, but how did you know my name?"
The tall blonde one gasped. "You're the exceptional honor student from y/c?!"
"It's quiet interesting seeing a commoner with the audaciousness to come here." The guy with glasses said.
"Commoner?" You repeated, taking in the name.
"You should feel lucky." He continued. It did do injustice for your nerves to hear that, but you tried to not let the innocently rude words effect you.
"So lucky." You sighed.
The blonde man rushed over to you and slung his arm over your shoulder. "I think it's wonderful for a commoner such as yourself to come and study us. It'll set an example for other commoners and you'll be a hero to all of them. Long live the poor!"
"Am I supposed to not find all of this offensive?" You asked as you ducked out of his arm.
That's when a small boy jumped onto you, causing you to instinctively catch him. While in your arms he could feel your hidden breasts against his head, which made him the second person in the room to catch on.
"Wow, y/l/n huh? That's a really weird last name. I like it though, it's interesting. I hope we can be friends from now! "You were honestly confused at to why there was a little boy here, so you gently ruffled his hair and put him down.
"That'd be nice." You sweetly said. "What are you doing here?"
"Huh. Who knew the honor student would be so openly gay?" The blonde man shrugged.
"What?" You asked, though you were ignored again.
"So then, which would you prefer?" He pulled your arm to each of the boys. "Is it the strong, silent type? The loli-shota type? The mischievous devils? The cool type?" He got extremely close and grabbed your chin, whispering, "Or maybe you'd like me."
You jerked yourself back, walking backwards as the twins and the blonde were walking towards you. "Please don't get so close when I don't even know you! I'll leave you all be now—"
You bumped into a table, and a vase fell and shattered as a result. "Now you've done it commoner." Said the twin with the higher voice. "That was a Renaissance vase."
"We were gonna sell that at the auction. The bidding was going to start at 8 million yen." Explained the other.
"8 mi..." Your voice was barely a whisper as you looked at the shattered glass. You then began to internally panic, causing words to just spew out. "Oh my gosh okay okay I am so so sorry I should've expected something like this cause of my luck and it's just like me to be a screw up and–" you let out a deep breath before scrunching up your nose and turning to them. "I need to pay you back."
"With what money?" The twins said.
"Holy crap this is bad." You began shaking your leg. "Okay, what do I do then?"
"Well Tamaki, what do you think we should do?" The glasses guy asked, still giving you a small smile.
"There's an old saying that we should all live by! When in Rome, do as the Romans do."
"I'm in rich territory, does that mean I need to do as the rich people do?" You asked, being unconsciously sarcastic.
He chose to ignore you and go on. "Since you don't have any money, you will have to pay us back with your body!"
"Can you please rephrase that—"
"Starting today, you are the host club's dog boy!"
It all happened so fast, and next thing you knew you were coming back from the store with their grocery items. Was this going to be hell? When you got back, you thought about the club while walking in the halls. It was their job to make women happy. That probably meant you would have to put on a brave smile.
"Hey there, little piglet. Did you get everything on our list?" Tamaki senpai smiled at you.
Brave face. "Yup, everything you asked for sir." You smiled brightly.
His eyes widened, and he zoomed over to you to pull you into a crushing hug. "Aww, you're too adorable!"
"Please let go!"
"Why? I'm not done hugging you yet!"
"I don't..." You looked around for help. "Mori senpai! Help me please!"
He made eye contact with you before swooping in and picking you up. You clung to him out of panic. Why would anyone smother strangers like that?
Mori senpai let out an inaudible gasp. He was now the third person who figured it out. "Uh, Mori senpai," Tamaki said. "Don't you think that was a little much?"
"No." He said, putting you down.
"Thank you." You said sweetly. He nodded and went back.
"Wait, doggo," Tamaki called to you, picking up the grocery bag. "What's this?"
"Just what it looks like. Coffee." You said as you walked over to him. "And I have a name."
"I've never seen coffee like this before." He ignored you again as he sat down on a couch.
"Are those the ones where it already has the beans grounded up for you?" Kaoru asked.
"No, it's instant coffee." You said.
"It's... Instant?" Some girls asked.
"Wait a minute, I've seen this before!" Tamaki widened his eyes. "It's commoner's coffee! They don't have time to make it themselves so they use this and it magically appears."
Someone watching this quietly asked, "Commoners don't have time to ground their own coffee?"
"Why is everybody staring?" You asked before sighing. "Nevermind. If you want I'll go back and buy a more expensive brand. Sorry."
"No no, let's keep it." The whole crowd gasped. "I think I'll try it." Another gasp. "I'm going to drink this coffee!" Everybody began clapping. "Y/l/n~ this coffee won't make itself~"
"I guess that's my cue." You said to yourself.
"Wait, commoner," Hikaru said.
"What's up with that ugly outfit?" Kaoru asked. "Can you not afford a school uniform?"
You giggled. "Do I look someone who can afford a school uniform?" They giggled again. "I'm used to public schools, so I wore a random shirt. I don't know if it fits this school's standards though." The twins heard your giggle, and we're now also figured it out. "I've actually been meaning to ask, is there a rule against dyed hair?"
"Dyed hair? No." Kaoru said.
"Oh good," you sighed. "Cause I have some highlights."
"Then what about your shirt?" Hikaru asked.
"It's a crop."
"A crop?" The twins asked in unison.
"Come to think of it," Kyoya spoke up. "Nobody ever asked you what your first name is."
You took off your beanie and let your hair down. You then took off your sweater and put it on top of your bag in the corner.
"It's y/n. Y/n y/l/n." You then walked over as everybody remained silent. "Thank you Kyoya senpai. Nobody else actually cared about my name. Means a lot." You smiled.
"Of course, now it's time to go make the coffee."
"Yes sir." You made it while everybody else remained silent. Tamaki couldn't take it anymore, and exploded.
"You're a girl?!" He barked.
"Yeah?"
"Why would you hide that?!"
"I wasn't trying to, and you shouldn't treat someone different because of that either way." You then turned to everyone else. "Coffee's done. Time for me to get back to work."
"But–but—"
"Tamaki, we still have guests to entertain." Kyoya reminded. He shook out of it and began flirting again, and you took this as an opportunity to start with your other chores. You began to clean up some plates and tea cups as everybody fussed over the coffee.
"Oh Tamaki, you've taken the joke too far. You have a delicate taste, your pallet can't stomach that crap. It's obvious you're just doing it to please her." You looked over to a very pretty girl, sipping her tea. "Oh, I'm sorry. I was just talking to myself."
"Of course ma'am. Would you care for any more food or drinks?" You quietly asked.
"No, you can leave now." You smiled and nodded, walking away with a bad feeling about that girl.
You were then cleaning up the coffee cups, watching other girls become fascinated with it. As you cleaned up they stopped to look at you. "Oh, you're the commoner honor student right?" One asked.
"Yup. Did you ladies enjoy the coffee?"
"Very much so. It did not taste poorly, and it was surprising to see how quick it was to make."
"Well, us commoners are always in a hurry to keep up with our bills." They giggled, though you didn't realize you were being funny. "Anyways, I'm glad I got to share my poorness with you."
The giggled again. "You're so funny y/n."
"Thank you. It's sweet of you not to call me a dog." You said, grinning afterwards. "And wow I never thought I'd say that."
They giggled again. "Are you enjoying Ouran Academy?"
"Hell yeah, it's awesome! Who knew there can be so many buildings in a building!"
"You have an interesting way of speaking." One laughed out.
"Well I didn't think so until I got to a whole different country. I totally forgot about the whole bowing to people thing when I left y/c. We don't do that there."
"Oh my goodness, really?!"
"Yeah, you have no idea—"
"Y/n, Honey senpai spilled." Hikaru called out. "Come and clean it."
"Oh, I have to go. It was nice talking to you ladies." You then hurried over there.
They then went back to their hosts. "What were you all talking about?" Tamaki asked one girl.
"Not much, just talking." She said. "It was very fun and pleasant."
"I wish we could've talked more." Another girl said.
"She's coming by." The third girl tried to say quietly.
"Y/n, come over here." Tamaki said. As you walked over his eyes ventured down to your opening stomach. "I heard you had quiet the chat with some ladies."
"Yup, I thought it was a very nice little talk." You said, smiling at them.
He grabbed you and crushed you into a hug again. "Your smile is so cute! You need to learn how to be more girly! Now promise me you won't wear any more of those dirty poor boy clothes."
"First of all, personal space please! Second, those clothes are comfy. And crop tops aren't for dirty boys."
"That's debatable." Tamaki murmered and blushed.
"Y'know, we think it looks pretty cute." The twins said against your shoulders.
"See? Hikaru and Kaoru aren't judging me on how I look." You hugged each of them at their side. They then both blushed out of surprise, not that you noticed.
"Don't trust those shady twins! They just want to take advantage of you." He then grabbed you back, nuzzling up against your cheek. "You know what, why don't you two make yourselves useful and grab an appropriate school uniform for my little girl."
"Little girl?" You asked, pushing him back a bit.
"Of course! We're a family after all, and now you're my little girl!"
"That's weird." He then suddenly started sulking in the corner, to which you felt bad about. You went over to him and sat on the floor next to him. "I'm sorry if I made you upset. I'm actually glad that friendship is that important to you. It's not often you still see that, and I'm happy to be a part of it."
His eyes began to shine. "Do you really think so?!"
"Sure!"
"Aww, you're so cute!" He squished your cheeks.
"Uh, boss." Kaoru said.
"The female uniforms were still in the process of being made, so all they had were male uniforms." Hikaru explained.
"Oh, that's actually better for me." You said. "I'm not much for dresses." You then took the outfit and went to the changing room to put it on. You came out without the blazer, the tie being loose, and the top button being undone. "Are you sure I can keep this?"
"Well the tailoring was messed up so they were gonna throw it away." Kaoru explained.
"Oh, perfect." You smiled.
"No, not perfect!" Tamaki popped up in front of you. "WHY WON'T YOU WEAR FEMALE CLOTHING?!"
"Are you trying to say I don't look good in these clothes?" You teased.
"Wha– noo~" His eyes began to tear up. "I never said that!"
"So you were thinking it."
"I WASN'T THINKING THAT AT ALL! Please y/n, I think you're beautiful, I swearr~"
You began giggling. "Senpai, I'm just teasing. I understand that you didn't mean that at all. It's okay."
He gave you puppy dog eyes. "Really?"
"Sure." You said lightheartedly. You wanted to ruffle his hair from how much of a puppy he was acting like.
"Then why would you tease me like that?" More puppy dog eyes.
"If I'm staying the Host Club's dog until I graduate, I might as well have fun while being here." The twins were busy laughing on the ground, while everybody else watch you two. Nobody could make Tamaki like that except for Kyoya.
"She's so funny." A girl mumbled.
You patted Tamaki's shoulders. "Straighten up senpai. You still have an audience waiting."
"She's right you know." Kyoya said. He then happily sighed. "Okay everyone, back to work."
You wheeled around the tea, hearing someone whisper, "She's coming."
You stopped and smiled, furrowing your eyebrows. "What?"
"Nothing, just that you don't react normally to Tamaki. No one has ever made him flustered like that before."
"Not only that." Another girl said. "You just seem so fun. It's like you don't give a care in the world. We're not used to people being so care free, so it's very fun."
"That's very sweet to hear. It's nice that you guys all care about whatever I ramble on about." You poured them all tea. "Maybe I should be a host too. I could tell stories and we could all hang out."
"That'd be very pleasant." One said as the other two nodded.
The red headed girl from earlier laughed. "How sweet of you three to make her feel good about herself. She seems like a person who needs to be praised."
"That was a little harsh Ayanokoji." One of them said.
They all looked at you frowning, but you didn't want them to pity you. You mustered up a smile. "More tea ma'am?"
"No, that'll be all. You can leave." She smiled as she sipped on her tea.
"Of course." You then walked away.
Kyoya heard everything. You passed by him, frowning and looking downward. "You mentioned being a host. It's an interesting notion, in it's own way."
"Don't worry Kyoya senpai, I know my place."
He didn't look back at you, only staring at his notebook. "Your place, huh."
"Would you care for anything?" You asked.
"Just some answers." He continued to write in his book. "What do you consider your 'place'?"
You chuckled. "Not here. I know how lucky I am to be here, and that I shouldn't push it. Especially after breaking something."
"I see. Well, I do like your suggestion of being a host." This gained the attention of Tamaki.
You had your back to him as you cleaned up a table. "I was joking."
"Yes, but most people seem to enjoy hearing you talk. It'll help gain money for your debt."
Tamaki flipped and landed right in front of you. "Why would you do that?! Don't tell me you're not interested in men?!"
"I didn't say I wasn't. I just think that these girls might also have fun by laughing and not just being flustered. Having someone to talk to can be refreshing."
His eyes began to sparkle again. "This could work! Having more females could get you in touch with your feminine side. Starting tomorrow, you are a host!"
The next day you were sitting on a couch with the three other girls you talked to yesterday with you. "So y/n, what was your life like before you came to Japan?"
"Oh, you guys don't really wanna hear about my boring life, do you?" You leaned back on the cushion. "I thought we could talk about you ladies."
"We're actually very intrigued by you. We all want to know more about your life."
"Yeah, it seems like you lived in a whole other world."
You grinned, looking around. "Well, this does feel like another world. It feels like a dream come true."
"Were you poor?" Someone blankly asked.
A few people turned around to listen in. You chuckled. "Yes. For a commoner, I was on the more poor side."
"You mean there's a poorer side?"
You chuckled again. "Yup. Instead of commoners, we like to call ourselves middle class. Or at least in y/c we were. There were those who had not bad jobs with not bad incomes, and there were others who actually struggled maintaining enough money to get by."
People began to stop talking and began listening in. "What were your parents then?"
You kept your smile on your face, but stared out the window. "My dad was a lazy asshole who never worked a day in his life, but I guess he didn't seem that way when my mom met him. My mom was an honest and hard working accountant. She used to say that he was nicer to her, sweeter, and not a lot of people were kind to women where she lived. She told me she thought he could make her happy."
They all listened intensely. Even Kyoya stopped writing, and watched you from his side view. You looked over the the three girls. You weren't used to having people really listening to you, but it did feel surprisingly nice. Like the weight on your chest was being lifted little by little.
"What happened?"
"It wasn't until she was pregnant with me when she realized it was all a lie. And it wasn't until after I was born when he showed her that he loved alcohol. He was angry when he drank, and he always drank. Mom got sick when I was about 6, and by that time being angry turned into being violent."
"Did he ever hurt you or your mom?" You looked her in the eyes, and she gasped, knowing the answer. You didn't answer that question.
"A few months later she passed, and I ran away the same day."
"Where did you go?"
You kept your voice steady and calm. "I was living in the streets. Stole from this liquor store to eat. The woman who owned the shop caught me, but she wasn't mad. She invited me into her apartment, fed me, bought me new clothes. She's good to me."
"Did you keep living with her?"
You nodded. "She called the cops on my dad before putting me into the foster system and becoming my new mother the right way. Took a few months before she could foster me, but she didn't hesitate to fill everything out and put down her name for a daughter."
"What happened after that?"
"I worked at her liquor store, made some friends, found out I was really good at learning things in school. Then I saw that there was an opportunity to go to a prestigious school in Japan. After seeing a lot of injustice in the neighborhood I lived in, I decided that I wanted to be a lawyer. So I studied, learned Japanese, and when I got in Maria sold the liquor store and we moved here."
"Maria?"
"My second mother. The one who adopted me."
"I see. So you came here with her then?"
"Of course. We wouldn't abandon each other." You turned to them and smiled. "It's nice to know when you're wanted."
The three of them were in tears. "That's so sad." One said.
"Oh, no no no, don't be sad girls. It's fine, honestly! I'm happy that I found a new family, and I'm happy for being here. I don't like tears, so please don't cry for me. It makes me sad."
The three of them smothered you with a hug. "WE'LL KEEP SMILING FOR YOU Y/N!"
You giggled. "Thanks girls." You then looked around. "Has everybody been listening in?"
"No!" You heard from the twins. Everybody quickly turned away from you.
"Well that's very embarrassing. Thanks guys." You blushed and looked down. Tamaki pulled you away and gently grabbed your arms.
"Y/n, listen to me. I promise you that we will do our best to make you feel as comfortable as possible." You were going to answer, but you noticed something when you looked out the window. "What's wrong?"
"My stuff..." You frowned. "I'll be right back."
You ran outside to get your things. Your bag was thrown into a lake. As you ran you saw that princess, Ayanokoji. She gave you a side eye, and something told you to stop running.
"Oh, it's you." You didn't look back, and neither did she. "You can charm everybody with your words, but I hope you know that to Tamaki you'll always be a second class citizen."
You said nothing as you kept running. Once you got to the lake you took off your shoes and socks, rolling up your pants and going in to fish out your stuff. What you couldn't find was your wallet. That would be good money gone to waste.
"You've got some nerve running out on me." Tamaki said, watching you. "Hey, why are your items all wet?"
"Oh, it's nothing. I'm just looking for my wallet. You can go back, I'll be there in a bit." You didn't notice him take off his socks and shoes until he got in as well. "What're you doing?"
"Helping you look."
"But you'll get all wet." You felt bad for making him do this.
"A little water never hurt anybody." You stopped what you were doing you watch him. "Besides, people are always telling me I'm dripping with good looks. Oh, I think we got something here." He showed you your wallet, though you just kept staring at him. "Why are you staring at me?" He then smiled. "You're not falling for me~ are you?"
You scoffed and smiled, grabbing your wallet from his hands. "You wish."
"By the way, how did your things end up in the pond?"
"Don't worry about it, let's just go back to the club."
Later that day, to your dismay, Princess Ayanokoji requested you. You politely asked her what she wanted to talk about, and she asked about you digging through the pond.
"I see, that must be terrible. I don't know what I'd have done if my bag got thrown into there." She then chuckled. "And you even got Tamaki to dig through that dirty lake water. Impressive."
"I don't see what's so impressive about it." You shrugged. "I suppose he's just a nice person who'd do that for people."
"You know it's just a little obsession with you. You're new and exciting, but pretty soon Tamaki will lose interest. I mean really, you're just another pretty face."
You frowned, looking into your tea cup. "Jealousy can make a beautiful face very ugly, don't you think?"
She widened her eyes before pushing the table to the ground, causing tea to spill on your lap, and slapped you in the face. "How dare you?! Someone help me, the commoner tried to steal my bracelet! Somebody do something!" The twins said nothing as the dumped water on her. "W...why did you do that?"
Tamaki pulled her up and into his arms. "Ayanokoji, I'm disappointed in you. You were the one you put y/n's bag in the pond, weren't you?"
"You don't know that!" She angrily said. "Do you have any proof that I did?!"
He sighed. "You're a beautiful woman Ayanokoji, but you aren't classy enough to be our guest. If it's one thing I know, it's that y/n isn't that kind of woman."
As she ran away crying, Kyoya handed you a girl's school uniform. "Since you got tea on your uniform. I know you wouldn't prefer a dress, but it's what we have, and it's better than a wet outfit."
"Yeah, thanks senpai."
You went into the changing room, putting on the dress. You were thankful for it being long. You didn't want anybody to the scars. You stared at yourself in the mirror, wondering if you looked okay. You sucked up the doubts and went out.
All the club members turned to look at you. Tamaki stared at you. "Y/n... wearing a... dress?"
"Senpai!" You walked over to Tamaki, taking his hands. "I forgot to say thank you for helping me find my wallet. I thought you were really cool today."
Tamaki's face then began to redden as you smiled.

The Nose Knows, Chapter 7 (NaNoWriMo 2018)
Hello again! Sorry for the delay on posting this chapter! I’ve actually written through Chapter 9 at this point but I was afraid to post with all the crazy stuff going on with Tumblr recently. However, I figured it’s been too long, so here’s Chapter 7!
Chapter Rating: T (Actually probably more of a G but want to be safe)
Chapter Warnings: Mild angst in this chapter, but we’re getting closer to the payoff!
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4 Chapter 5 | Chapter 6 | Chapter 7 | Chapter 8 Chapter 9 | Chapter 10 | Chapter 11 | Chapter 12
Chapter 7
Marinette collapsed onto her chaise face down, groaning into the pillow. "Tikkiiiiiii… Do I have to go on patrol tonight?"
Tikki clicked her tongue rather unsympathetically at her holder. "Marinette, you're the one who scheduled this group patrol in the first place. It's not becoming of a hero to cancel something this important at the last minute.
"I know," Marinette grumbled as she rolled over to face her Kwami. "But I'm exhausted, and after what just happened with Adrien, I'm…" She didn't even know how to put her thoughts into words just yet. The way his wide green eyes met hers as he handed over her purse… the smell that had been tickling the back of her mind all week… It was all too much for her to comprehend in her current state.
"Well, the transformation will help a bit with the exhaustion, at least," Tikki reasoned.
"That's true… I've noticed that in the past. It's almost like an adrenaline surge, or getting your second wind while staying up all night."
Tikki nodded. "I think you need to go, but I'm sure your friends wouldn't mind if you did cut it a little short tonight."
"Yeah… good idea. But how am I supposed to face Chat, if he's…"
"You'll just have to do your best, Marinette. I'm still not entirely sure what I missed, but I believe you'll do the right thing."
"I hope so… Thanks for listening, Tikki."
"Any time, Marinette." Her Kwami gave her a peck on the cheek, smiling gently at the midnight-haired girl.
"All right, I guess it's time to go." With great effort, Marinette heaved herself to her feet. "Tikki, spots on!"
The quartet of Miraculous holders met up just outside of the Louvre that night. Seeing the exhaustion in her friends’ eyes, she could tell that they were all in the same boat that she was in--no desire to patrol, but feeling the obligation to do so anyway.
“Why don’t we split up into pairs? We can cover more ground that way,” she suggested, conspicuously not looking directly at Chat. “Réna, will you come with me?”
“Of course, Ladybug, but are you sure we can leave the boys to their own devices?” Réna Rouge winked at Carapace and Chat as she spoke.
“They can take care of themselves,” Ladybug replied, turning toward the north. “Réna and I will take the north; Carapace, Chat, you go south. We’ll meet back up here in two hours to debrief before we call it a night.”
“That sounds good to me," Carapace said. Turning to Chat, he asked, “You all right with that, dude?”
“Fine by me.” The black-clad hero was also unusually quiet, not quite meeting anyone’s eyes.
"All right then, let's get this over with. My bed is calling my name."
With a collective nod, the quartet split up, heading in their respective directions. As soon as they were out of earshot of the boys, Réna turned on Ladybug as they made their way across the rooftops of Paris. "All right, LB, you might be able to fool those two knuckleheads, but you can't fool me. What's going on between you and Chat?"
"It's nothing," Ladybug replied tersely. "Chat and I are just fine."
"Oh, please. You know I have three years' worth of video observations of the two of you. You never once looked him in the eye the entire time we were talking. You also stood as far away from him as possible without making it look obvious." When Ladybug leveled Réna with a flat stare, she continued, "I'm pretty sure Carapace didn't notice. I only did because, as previously stated, I've basically been stalking the two of you for three years. Not in a creepy way, but in a journalistic way."
"Right… Look, Réna, you and I both know you had an extremely busy day today, and I did as well, so I really just want to get this patrol over with. If you want to talk about something else, anything else, that's fine; but I am really not in the mood to talk about the current state of my relationship with Chat Noir, okay?"
"Okay, fine," Réna said, a little hurt in her voice.
Ladybug frowned. "I'm sorry. I'm exhausted and not acting like myself. Do you forgive me?"
"Of course. I didn't mean to pry so much. Force of habit, you know?"
"I know. You're going to make a hell of a journalist someday."
"You think so?"
"I know so. I believe in you."
Réna smiled, her eyes a bit watery all of a sudden, "Thanks, Ladybug. That means a lot, coming from you."
Pausing in their patrol for a moment, Ladybug reached over and wrapped her arms around Réna in a hug. "You're welcome." Réna returned the hug readily with a big smile.
Meanwhile, Chat and Carapace were quiet for the better part of half an hour as they started patrolling the southern part of the city. Chat, lost in his thoughts, barely noticed Carapace struggling to keep up with his blistering pace as he raced across rooftops and leaped over streets. It wasn't until Carapace practically yelled his name as he landed on top of Tour Montparnasse that he stopped, turning back to look at the other young man on a lower roof nearby. Wincing, Chat jumped down to rejoin his patrol partner. "Sorry, Carapace… I'm not exactly great company tonight, am I?"
Carapace waved him off, though he was bent double as he caught his breath. After a minute of deep breathing, Carapace looked back up at Chat. "You have something on your mind, dude?"
"Not really… I mean… yes, I do, but I'm not sure if I can talk about it. It's not something I'm supposed to discuss."
"Oh. Well, if you need help with anything, I'm here for you, dude."
"Thanks... " Chat thought for a moment, then remembered something Ladybug had told him back during the Heroes' Day incident. "Actually, I have a question."
"Shoot!"
"You know Réna Rouge's civilian identity, right?"
Carapace nodded. "Yeah, has Ladybug not told you who we are?" When Chat shook his head, Carapace frowned slightly. "Oh… Okay, well I guess I won't say it then. But yeah, Réna and I both know each other as civilians. Why do you ask?"
"Well… how did you feel when you found out?"
"How did I feel? Mostly confused, I guess. I mean, I'd never met Réna before that day, so I had no idea she was secretly a superhero. But she already knew, or at least had a hunch, that I was Carapace. I mean, thinking back on it, I guess it was kind of obvious. I was trying to keep her safe from an Akumatized villain, Ladybug saved me at the last second, and then like two minutes later she shows back up with Carapace."
As Carapace spoke, Chat nodded along, remembering the day that Carapace had helped Ladybug defeat Anansi. But hearing that day from Carapace's point of view made something click in Chat's head. "Wait… wait a second. Nino?"
Carapace gave Chat a weak chuckle. "Heh heh… hey, dude."
"Wait, so if you're Nino… Réna is Alya, isn't she?" Everything made sense now--like why Rna and Carapace already had so much chemistry together. They were dating! When Carapace nodded again, Chat flopped down onto the roof, unable to keep his legs under him.
"Okay, okay, so you're Nino, Réna is Alya… do either of you know who Ladybug's civilian identity is?"
"No way, dude. She hasn't revealed anything to us about who she is in real life. She hasn't told you, either, has she?"
"No, she hasn't… I've asked her before, but she insists that it's important for us to keep our identities safe."
"I mean, I can kind of understand why. Alya--Réna Rouge--and I haven't fought any Akumatized villains since that incident a few years ago, but I know that when I first got my powers as Carapace I was terrified that something would happen and Alya would get hurt. I can't imagine how much worse it will be if she gets attacked by a villain while she isn't Réna Rouge--especially if it's my fault that she is targeted in the first place."
"That's… a good point, actually," Chat conceded. "But you'll be able to watch each other's backs, since you see each other every day."
"True. I think I know where you're coming from--you think that you and Ladybug should reveal your identities to one another, don't you?"
"Yes! I'm glad someone else gets it."
"Yeah, I get it. I'm not sure I fully agree, but I understand at least."
"What do you mean, you don't fully agree?"
"Well… Look at it this way. If I didn't know Alya was Réna, then I would be concerned for her, sure, but I wouldn't be scared for her. You know? Like... hypothetically speaking, if a villain found out who I was, and went after Alya to get to me… I don't know how I would handle it."
"Oh…" Chat thought about that for a moment, picturing Marinette in his head, happy and smiling… and then picturing Hawk Moth standing over her lifeless body… just the mental image made him shudder with fear and tension. "Okay, I see what you're getting at."
"Good. I'm not saying it's necessarily a bad thing for you to find out, but I'm also not saying it's something you should rush into. You know?"
"Yeah, I understand. If it happens organically, that's one thing… but maybe trying to force her hand isn't the best idea."
"Definitely not. That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen."
"Thanks for the advice. I needed that."
"Any time, dude! Now, let's get back to patrolling so we can finish up and head home. I'm completely wiped out."
Chat nodded in agreement. "Definitely. We have a lot of ground to cover and less than an hour and a half to do it in. I'll try not to leave you behind this time."
"Thanks. I get that you're more experienced at this than me, but you don't have to rub it in my face!"
"Sorry! That was claw-fully rude of me." At the pun, Carapace groaned and rubbed his temples with his hands.
"If this is what it's like to patrol with you all the time, I can see why Ladybug needed a break," he replied playfully.
"Hey! Don't you talk about My Lady like that!" Carapace laughed and darted off, Chat leaping after him, starting a game of cat-and-turtle that doubled as their patrol.
Finally, close to midnight, the heroes returned to their starting point at the Louvre. Ladybug and Réna made it just a few minutes before Chat and Carapace, waiting for the boys on the highest portion of the museum's roof.
"Where have you two slowpokes been?" Réna asked when Chat and Carapace joined them.
"Oh, you know, just off doing guy stuff," Chat replied.
"So, what, having a burping competition or something?"
Chat had the good sense to look scandalized at the suggestion, but Carapace laughed and nudged Chat in the ribs. "Dude, she's on to us!"
Ladybug giggled at Carapace's response. "Looks like you two are getting along well."
"Yeah, I think we're going to be good friends," Chat said, turning to Carapace and offering a fist bump. The green-clad hero returned the gesture readily.
"Well, I think it's about time I hit the road," Réna said, stifling a yawn. "I need to be getting back home soon or my family might realize that I'm gone."
"Actually, I'm in the same boat." Carapace stepped toward Réna as he spoke. "Let me walk you home?"
"I suppose," Réna acquiesced with an overly dramatic sigh. "But only because you're cute. Don't stay up too late, you two!"
"Good night guys! Great work tonight!" Ladybug called as the two headed off toward home. She watched them leave for a minute until they were out of sight, then turned to Chat. "So… looks like it's just you and me, huh?"
"Yeah, I guess so," Chat replied, looking down at his boots intently.
"So… how was your trip?"
"It was fine."
"That's good… Did anything exciting happen while you were gone?"
"Not really."
Ladybug frowned softly, crossing her arms over her chest. "If you don't want to talk to me, Chat, that's fine. But did I do something wrong?"
Ladybug expected any number of things to come out of Chat's mouth--that he was tired, that he couldn't talk about it, that he was angry about something--but what she actually heard was something she absolutely never expected Chat Noir to say. "You stink."
"I--I'm sorry, what?"
"I said, you smell."
"I smell? That's the reason you don't want to talk to me? That's pretty rich coming from the guy whose Kwami eats so much Camembert it's practically oozing out of your pores."
"Oh yeah? Well, your Kwami smells like you've stuffed her full of cookie dough!" Chat raised his eyes to glare at Ladybug.
That settled it--there was no way that Chat Noir could ever be Adrien Agreste. Adrien would never say anything like that, especially to Ladybug. "Well, you smell like a… like a hobo who fell in the sewer!"
"You smell like burnt toast."
"Oh, you take that back!"
"Make me, margarine," Chat spat. With a roar, Ladybug launched herself at him, knocking him to the ground in an all-out tussle.
Somewhere deep in the back of her mind, Ladybug realized that this whole exchange was completely out of character for her--for both of them, in point of fact. But between the late night, the excruciating tests, and that strange tension between Marinette and Adrien earlier, Ladybug had been walking a tightrope of pent-up emotion. Apparently, the same could be said for Chat. All it had taken for the dam to burst was one exhaustion-fueled comment.
In her moment of introspection, Chat got the upper hand in the wrestling match, grabbing Ladybug's wrists and pinning her to the ground, straddling her hips. Looking up at Chat, Ladybug was about to try to buck him off when their eyes met, a strange frisson of energy coursing down her spine. Her breath caught in her throat as she saw how the moonlight reflected in Chat's luminous green eyes, turning his blond hair to pure liquid gold. Chat, too, seemed lost in Ladybug's eyes, his face softening and his grip on her wrists loosening.
"My Lady..."
"Chaton…"
Their faces slowly came closer together, their breath mingling in the narrowing space between them as Ladybug leaned up and Chat leaned down. Ladybug's eyes were glued to Chat's mouth, her own opening as she wet her suddenly dry lips. The movement of her tongue seemed to draw Chat's eyes as well, a soft groan escaping his mouth.
The sound snapped Ladybug out of her trance-like state--she turned her head away quickly. "I-I should go."
Nodding mutely, Chat clambered off of Ladybug, letting her get to her feet. "I'm sorry for what I said, Bugaboo… Still friends?"
"Of course, Chaton. I'm sorry too." Turning away from Chat, she bounded off, leaving him behind on top of the Louvre.

it's theory anon,hi!!how are YOU?i'm really good rn thanks:)) thank you for your kindness again,i'm really happy i could somehow help to help you feel even a tiny bit better and hope you're doing well now, too(and it's ok to not rest on your day off but it's also ok to do so if that's what you feel is right for you atm!).about the mf(ilm), i thought the same thing, it felt like a parallel universe type of story!i also really love plotlines about friendship, (again cont.i'll try to be briefer!)
(i’m so sorry i wrote a rly long reply so i’m gonna put this under read more !!)
2. friendship is beautiful and i feel oftentimes underappreciated(but not mx!there they go again being amazing) so i love the concept. personally i like not knowing what exactly the producers were thinking because having my own interpretation of something and seeing other ppl have their own fills me with wonder, like, that's art!so many people think so many different things and no one's wrong i love it!!your thoughts about them appreciating everything they've done so far, you're absolutely right(cont) 3. i hope they are able to bc everything's so hectic for the.i get lost just looking at their official schedule,i don't know how they do it but i also hope they are aware of all these things bc those are all mindblowingly huge accomplishments in my opinion and i just want them to feel like their hard work is worth it,yknow?(is this comprehensible?)and i know they feel pressure because as you said the business is nasty but yea i hope at the end of the day they can feel like (cont.???again 4. everything they've put so much of themselves into is worth it,i love their energy and fierce determination and i just don't want them to lose it but maybe as you said feel less pressured..but then the only way would realistically be to make sure they get awarded in the Real World so we're all doing our best in the system&hating it as you said:/ they just mean so much to so many people i want them to feel that too!i try to contain myself but here i go again! sorry it's so long AND i have more(con 5. also!thank you for your big reply and sharing your thoughts i mostly just agreed with (but you're right so what else can i do),i don't have mbb friends to vent to and fanperson(is there a gender neutral term for fanboy/fangirl?) over mx with and this is really nice and fulfilling(again,if i'm boring you,you can just delete the messages and not reply!) so THANKS!it's great to strive to be a better person but i feel like one(you) should also acknowledge the good things they're already doing(cont?) 6. you showed such pure kindness and really melted someone's(my) heart and that's a Big Deal!djkghddgwe can agree that we both inspired each other :') also please i feel like you're such a wonderful soul and you really deserve every bit of gratitude and appreciation i managed to express(i feel a lot moreprobably) so!yeah!reminder that you're lovely and deserve to be appreciated and i'm also very, very happy you're here!you made my day brighter for the 2nd time now wow!thanks! i hope you and(cont.:() 7. your gorgeous heart are taking good care and enjoying your day/night! and this cb!i really like it i haven't had time to listen to the entire album but jealousy!is a bop honestly it's my type of jam and the choreo is stunning and so are their voices!iwas so skeptical about the lyrics(they could've been like hero or stuck and those made me a bit >:/ honestly) but i really should've known they wouldn't fail me in any way ever!i can't wait to hear the rest of the songs i hope you enjoy them too!bye

Actually.....I think jealousy is my fav mx song ???? before this cb i didnt hav a fav bc i couldnt pick the song i liked most out of blue moon/blind/fighter/incomparable. i was just gonna base it off the one w the most play count out of those 4 but now i know its jealousy ! what are ur fav mx songs ?? btw i know im always saying that anything mx releases is always a masterpiece no matter what, but in all seriousness its ok if u didn't like smth they released. i don't think it makes u any less of a mbb if u didn't enjoy a certain release or if u only liked one aspect of a thing but not so much the rest of the thing. anyway not to sound so...stale and commonplace but for lack of a better word/sentence, at the end of the day your own reactions and feelings to a piece of art like music...it's all just subjective isnt it ?? not liking that thing doesnt mean that its not a masterpiece or its any less of a masterpiece to someone else either so !! it's ok !! anyway this is rly....ive written a lot and its all over the place and incoherent probably :( i'm sorry !! feel free to reply whenever u feel like it, or no pressure on never replying at all btw ! also feel free to disagree w anything i say ! thank u sm for talking to me abt mx bc ive also got no mbb friends so !!! thank you :( theres so many times where i rly want to start a conversation w someone but im too scared and also i've got no clue abt how to initiate conversation ! and the times when i do manage to...i get stuck on how to keep the conversation going ? but when i figure smth out then im coming for u @ friendship !! i hope u had a good weekend and that you got some rest and that ur doing ok wherever u are !! until next time, take care ❤️❤️❤️
#how did i..even end up writing so much im so sorry :-(#and sorry that this is all over the place !!#i hope i didn't go on too much of a tangent :(#ask#theory anon#Anonymous

(1/11) I'm going to give you the run down of TVD, if you can tolerate a Mary Sue protagonist, fan servicing, shipping over plot, and so much protagonist-based morality to make your head spin the show will be alright for you. If you do chose to watch please note these things I'm about to mention. And sorry in advance that this isn't short and probably overflowed your inbox.
(2/11)The fandom is a mess, if you thought AOS has issues dear lord you’re in for a surprise with TVD. Now the mess doesn’t really come as a surprise when you consider the show puts SHIPS OVER PLOT and that’s not somethings that really starts, at least in alienation proportions until season 3.
(3/11) So the fandom is basically one giant ship war and a lot about Stelena vs Delena which I personally pick neither because as I mentioned before “Mary Sue” protagonist which makes both ships boring and unappealing to watch for me. If so decide to watch you can form your own opinion.
(4/11) It’s a general consensus that the first 3 or 4 seasons are the only good seasons and this quality drop is most noted by Julie Plec taking iver as show runner. Again if you watch it form your own opinion. Personally I think the quality drops in season 3 which is a fan favorite because it’s the season of the originals, but the quality drop has really nothing to do with them but Elena, the protagonist and the fact that she is the protagonist.
(5/11)You see there’s not much to sustain her character in the plot. The most interesting thing about her is that she’s a doppelgänger and in a love triangle. By season 3 the doppelgänger part is pretty much irrelevant and she’s left with being in a love triangle that got tedious.
(6/11)Now if she was a supporting character this wouldn’t be much of an issue because the focus wouldn’t only be on her (and boy is it on her, she has more focus on her in a show called vampire diaries than Meredith Grey has on a show called Grey’s Anatomy), but it’s always on her and there’s more interesting things going on in the background.
(7/11) Also season 3 notes the change from the show being more plot driven to ship driven and mostly because that’s the only relevance the MC had to the plot. (Seriously it got so bad that the writers had to force her into storylines she had no business in).
(8/11) Bonnie Bennett, I say for your sake don’t get too attached to this character or really any ship with her because it’s heart breaking every time. Also if you find issues with her treatment read the wordpress article The Problematic Treatment of Characters of Color on The Vampire Diaries, and it’ll probably put in words exactly how you feel watching her character because of all of them she gets the shaft most often and has to pay for Elena’s consequences most often.
(9/11)Which brings me to protagonist-based morality. Due to this issue a lot of the villains come out more likable that the heroes because they pretty much the same things just without the air of hypocrisy. It pretty much comes from Elena’s inability to do her job as the “moral compass” if you can even call her that. The narrative treats anyone she thinks is good as good even if they just moments ago did the same exact thing as the villain.
(10/11)A lot of characters die because Elena’s life is inexplicably worth more than theirs. (Again Mary Sue). And that even includes a certain main character who constantly has to sacrifice pretty much everything for her for inexplicable reasons other than the writers were dead set on her being the magic negro/mammy character.
(11/11)Pretty much if you decide to watch it it’s going to give you a lot of great material to rant about and is probably the only reason I’m still in the fandom. That and the Bonnie fandom is a nice corner of TVD to be in. It’s only really awful when you have to deal with racism and irrational hate about her from the rest of the fandom.
Wow, this was a lot of information. Didn’t quite overflow my inbox, since that’s at a high number anyway. ;-) But it got close.
I see what you’re saying. TVD isn’t really high on my list of things to watch, but if I found myself with a ton of time and looking for something to binge, I’d give it a shot. I tend to stay away from the majority of fandom, so that isn’t a turn off for me. Ships over plot and unacknowledged protagonist-centered morality are big problems. I don’t know that I’ve seen a show that was quite as blatant with protagonist-centered morality as Revenge (yes, it even beats AoS on that). Sounds like TVD might give Revenge a run for its money. I do wonder where I’d fall on the shipping spectrum. So yeah, I might give it a shot down the road, but doesn’t sound like it’s something that I need to rush to watch.
Thanks!

Around 15 years ago, there was a Facebook thing where you made a list of 25 things people may not know about you. It was fascinating & sometimes eye opening. Does that make me curious & interested? Or just nosy? Ha ha, who knows? 🤷♀️😂
Anyway, there's something similar out there now.. 20 Things. Should we put such personal stuff out there? I don't know.. I've always been a bit of a 'heart on my sleeve' kinda girl.. What's the worst that can happen? Those that are interested will know a bit more about you than they did before? 🤔
So I decided to revisit my 25 things, from memory actually, as I left Facebook 3 years ago. I've reviewed & updated 15 things from my old list & added 5 new ones.
#20things
1. My worst fear has always been that my daughters will go and live on the other side of the world.
Nothing's changed. I am forever thankful that they both live 5 minutes away. I still pray they will never, ever leave.
2. I almost drowned when I was 3.
I fell head first into a water butt in my Auntie's garden. My cousin Tim saved me, he was 4. He held on to my feet & shouted for help until my Auntie came & pulled me out.
3. I love to boogie.
Nothing's changed, I still do. And I've never cared who's watching.
4. I have a phobia of buttons.
No change. When I was little, my Grandma had a big tin of them. Big ones, small ones, makes no difference, I don't like them.
5. Music is a fundamental part of my life.
Still true. I listen to music everyday, it's an integral part of my world. My taste is very varied, from Amy Winehouse to Avicii, George Michael to Glen Campbell. I like old songs, new songs, funky vibes, chilled grooves, smooth jazz, reggae, soul, easy listening, house, rock, pop, rhythm & blues, the list goes on.. I do however, especially love Coldplay, a double clap-clap & an epic drop.
6. I have a nice bum.
Ha ha, things have changed! My lovely hubby says it's still nice, but he's just super sweet to me! I'm 55 now, my six pack (yes I had one) is long gone & my muscle tone has diminished, but I'm active & I try to stay fit. I'm just thankful my body is healthy & can still do what I want it to.
7. Grief almost consumed me.
Well, yes it nearly did. I was sad & angry & went a bit doolally for a little while. My Dad died shortly after being diagnosed with a malignant melanoma, when I was 31. My Mum took her own life 11 months later. My girls were only 1 & 4 years old. It was all pretty horrendous. That sadness & fear of loss has never quite left me but I've learned to live with it. Life's struggles make you stronger, wiser & very grateful for all the good things.
8. I would give anything for 5 more minutes with my Dad.
Nothing's changed. I still would.
9. My children are my greatest achievement.
Still true, they absolutely are. They're both amazing women, awesome, clever & beautiful. They are my joy, my sky full of stars, they make my world a happy place. My love for them is endless. I'm forever grateful & proud to be their Mum.
10. I want to live by the Mediterranean sea.
Tick, dream came true.
11. My sister is a legend.
True, she still is. She's wonderful, kind, wise & generous, my guru. And very precious to me. I would be lost without her.
12. I made a difference to lots of people's lives.
I really did. As a fitness instructor, personal trainer, yoga & pilates teacher, I helped lots of people get fitter & healthier. I owned a Fitness Studio in Broadstairs, it was a great place to be, we had lots of fun, did lots of sociable things & many lasting friendships were made there.
13. My man was meant for me.
He really was. As the old saying goes, neither of us is perfect, but he is perfect for me. He's loved me at my best & my worst, held my hand through the fun, laughter & adventures, through the tears & tough times too. There is so much I love about him. 33 years later, he is my absolute hero, my best friend & I cannot imagine my life without him.
14. I have the finest best friends.
Nothing's changed. They mean the world to me. They are few, but fabulous, they love and accept me for who I am. My gratitude for having them in my life & my love for them, is everlasting.
15. My Grandma was the bravest & kindest lady I've ever known.
Still true. Her childhood was difficult, she survived 2 world wars, lost her husband (my Grandad), her son (my Dad) & her daughter in law (my Mum) all in the space of 18 months. She was incredibly strong, never, ever complained & was there for me whenever I needed her. She was fiercely independent, looked after my girls in her 80's, & bravely battled oesophageal cancer to the very end. She was an inspiration to me & I loved her dearly.
16. I have 2 tattoos.
Got the 1st when I was 32 & still slightly doolally. Got the 2nd when I was 52 & perfectly sane. They're inconspicuous & I love them both for very different reasons. I'm getting my 3rd soon.
17. I've made a playlist for when I'm not here anymore.
Bit morbid? Maybe, but my loved ones, family & friends will be dancing & singing to the most awesome tunes when they celebrate my life, 100% guaranteed! My favourites are in there, of course.
18. Selling up everything in the UK & moving to Mallorca 8 years ago was the best decision we ever made.
We arrived here with nowhere to live, no jobs & no idea how it would all turn out. We literally flew by the seat of our pants & have never, ever looked back. Our life here is so much more than we ever hoped for or dreamed of. Best. Move. We. Ever. Made.
19. I'm grateful & thankful every day, for my life, the ones I love & that we are all healthy & happy.
I believe that gratitude, the power of positivity & not sweating the small stuff is the secret to happiness. I recognise that others have a totally different perspective on life and that's OK with me. I surround myself with like minded people & steer away from negativity, or anyone & anything that disturbs my inner peace, or upsets my balance. I cherish my loved ones & keep my circle quite small. Above all, the well being of myself & those I care about is my priority. It works for me. Live & let live people.
20. In the end, all you need is love.
Obviously, we all have to be responsible, keep a roof over our heads & pay our bills. But spiritually & emotionally, to love and be loved in return is the answer for me. Life isn't always easy, there are no rainbows without the rain. I love fiercely, with all my heart, I try to love myself fiercely too. I realise how lucky I am to love & be loved. I tell the ones I love how much I love them, every day, all day if I want to. Because I never, ever know when I might not be able to anymore.

The GREAT CRUNCHYROLL Re:ZERO REWATCH Loops over Episodes 6-10 with a Shocking Revelation!
Welcome back the GREAT CRUNCHYROLL Re:ZERO REWATCH! I'm Kara Dennison, and I'll be your host this week as we make our way through Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-. Last week we traveled with Subaru to a magical new realm in episodes 1-5, and this week we're picking up from a rather gory cliffhanger and getting a few mysteries solved in episodes 6-10.
Despite covering Re:ZERO-related news constantly over in the news room, I never actually knew a lot about it. A few reveals got to us early by way of things like special-edition Rem figures, but—for me, at least—Subaru's Return by Death power and its implications were a complete surprise. With this week's batch of episodes, we got to see the toll this takes on him emotionally and how he recovers from it. There's a lot I still want to know about his life prior to the series, especially regarding how quickly he took to his new company and how little he thinks of his original world.
We're still watching Subaru evolve and, as commenter BlackRose0607 pointed out, he's "starting from zero," as it were:
That's the thing though, Subaru ISN'T a hero. He's an ordinary guy who got transported to another world and thinks he has powers right away, but really his only power is coming back to a certain point after he dies, to try and redo things and make them work for him and those around him to keep himself and everyone else alive.
It looks like we've got some viewers who gave Re:ZERO a try before and never finished, but are picking it up as we do. Welcome aboard... and now, let's see what the Crunchyroll Features team has to say about this week's episodes!
This is a very busy batch of episodes! For starters, Subaru seems to be coming to terms with his "new normal" after some really rough restarts (and a literal emotional breakdown). Has your view of him as a character changed at all from last week?
Kevin: I really like seeing the sheer emotional toll that the time loops take on him. Even if he tries, he literally can’t tell anyone about how he knows that terrible things are about to happen. In the first set of episodes, we saw how that can make him plan things out and try different methods, while this time we got to see how the constant fear and frustration leave him a step away from insanity almost constantly, especially when he knows that he’s in a loop.
Joshua: Since watching Okabe in Steins;Gate 0 and Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange, I’ve been fascinated by the potential mental impact of repeating so many traumatic timelines. So at the risk of sounding like a sadist, I really liked Re:ZERO’s direct approach, and seeing the emotionally vulnerable side of Subaru unfurl out of his forced bravado.
He’s died repeatedly in brutal, painful ways, before having to act like nothing happened. It’s understandable he’d be traumatised, which makes the fact he can’t even confide in anyone, a cruel stroke of narrative genius. Despite all the pain, and occasional blips in his fight-or-flight reflex, he’s shown an admirable selfless resolve in situations where I’d sympathise with just wanting to run away though, so I’m starting to respect Subaru a bit more, I suppose.
Paul: I'm not entirely sure what to make of Subaru. He keeps taking credit for saving the day when really it’s the more powerful characters (Reinhard, Rem, Ram, Beatrice, etc.) who do all the heavy lifting, and even his seemingly courageous acts seem to be borne out of cowardice and desperation. It makes him a complicated and interesting character, but I'm not sure whether I like him or merely pity him.
Noelle: I’m still on the fence with Subaru. On the one hand, the time loops and constant deaths are extremely cruel, and having to reconcile that people he might have possibly become close to would happily see him dead. On the other hand, he hasn’t really improved as a person; he still reeks of entitlement. These are fine character flaws, but it’s not very palatable to me. Still, I don’t think he’s a bad person. Just not a type of character whose story I see as having a need to be told.
Jared: I’m still very unsure about him. Sure, he did some things that could be seen as good in this set of episodes, but I still feel like this isn’t done just because he’s a good person. There’s still parts of him that seem highly suspicious.
Carolyn: I’m really liking this minefield that he has to navigate every time he is rebooted. It’s very interesting to watch him put pieces together but then constantly seem to be three paces behind anyway. I’m not certain he’s my favorite character, I think Emilia holds that title right now. But the whole premise has me intrigued.
Austin: If anything, I've become more sympathetic towards him. His emotional breakdown in Emilia's lap really hit me for this rewatch and honestly makes it a bit difficult for me not to feel sorry for him.
Danni: For the most part, yes. I think he’s really likeable and has a great rapport with the rest of the cast, but characters with uninterrogated martyr complexes irk me. To his credit, there’s a logic to it given he knows death isn’t permanent for him, but that doesn’t negate how ultimately self-destructive and harmful it is. I guess that’s not so much his fault (he is just a fictional character, after all) as it is a qualm I have with the writing as a whole.
David: Unfortunately in this case I am tainted by having seen the show before. Given all of the criticisms of him, I am extremely interested in what everyone’s take on where his character arc goes in the next couple weeks, though.
René: I think that this batch of episodes really drives home how Subaru isn’t your run-of-the-mill overpowered isekai protagonist and is also a big part why Re:ZERO became so popular so fast back when these aired. It’s really hard not to sympathize with him through all this suffering and builds a really good emotional basis for what is yet to come.
Was the revelation of Rem as Subaru’s attacker a shock? Similarly, what about the revelation of Ram and Rem’s demonic nature?
Kevin: When I was watching for the first time, I don’t remember predicting either. On a rewatch, I don’t think there was any real way to guess the outcome, since we had never seen either maid show fighting ability and didn’t know that oni were an actual race in this world. Despite that, I really like how both are handled, since it fits with the logic of the world. Also, Subaru’s story about the red and blue oni was a nice hint.
Joshua: I think anyone watching for the first time would’ve been shocked - I certainly was back when I was a newcomer. Up until then, we hadn’t really seen Rem as more than Ram’s cute sidekick, so the reveal that she’s more than capable of a little cold-blooded murder was a shock, to say the least. Their demonic nature was less of a surprise to me though, as the seeds were quietly sewn when Subaru and Rem visited the village in last week’s episodes. Although, perhaps I picked up on that hint due to already knowing, I suppose?
Paul: This plot detail was spoiled for me long ago, and so the reveal itself wasn't a surprise, although the sheer violence of Rem's rampages was pretty shocking. I want to know more about their background and how they came to be employed at Roswaal Manor.
Noelle: I was surprised by Rem, honestly, mostly because there were… almost no clues that she could have been the attacker? Suspicion doesn’t translate into murder, and we don’t really get any proper hints about why she would want to have him killed. So it’s not really a mystery, is it? The demonic nature was hinted at with the red oni blue oni story, so that didn’t come as much of a surprise… although I was expecting that to be metaphorical instead of literal.
Jared: In hindsight, it makes a ton of sense since you wouldn’t normally point the finger at her, but it was a bit of a surprise. It does seem weird that she was going after him just because he seemed shady and had the witch’s scent on him, so hopefully that whole thing gets explained at some point. The demon reveal again is something that you can look back on and see how they made a trail to that reveal. Although Rem being a violence machine wasn’t what I was expecting when she turns.
Carolyn: I already knew because spoilers. But had I not known, I don’t think I would have been terribly surprised. We are led to believe the whole castle is full of strange people who could murder Subaru at any moment. The entire vibe is just bizarre during his first few days there. I was surprised about the demon part, however.
Austin: On my first watch I was really surprised about Rem being the killer! I remember thinking about why she might have attacked Subaru for the whole week leading up to the next episode and initially even thought she killed him in the first loop. As for Ram and Rem’s demonic nature, Re:ZERO unfortunately wasn’t the first time I’ve seen Naita Aka Oni, the Japanese children’s story about the red and blue ogres, referenced so that wasn’t as surprising.
Danni: I had honestly expected it to be Ram, so it was a bit surprising to see Rem in the end. Their nature wasn’t a surprise, though. They telegraphed it from a mile away last week while the two chatted on the walk back from the village. I did feel pretty dumb for not noticing the red ogre/blue ogre motif given how often it seems to pop up in different anime.
David: I had no clue at all, but the show doesn’t really give you any chances at guessing it could be her before the reveal, so I think the intrigue is more in the “why” than the “who”.
René: I have to unfortunately second a lot of the previous comments. I tried to approach it like a proper mystery but there wasn’t nearly enough adequate foreshadowing to point towards Rem so logic-wise, it wasn’t as satisfying. It did provide us cool action, though.
There’s a lot of intrigue (and a lot of murder) surrounding Emilia’s claim to the throne of Lugnica. Subaru’s newfound knowledge and trust aside, is there anyone in Roswaal’s household you still consider suspicious? If you’ve already seen the series, which character were you suspicious of the longest?
Kevin: To this day I’m not sure what’s up with Roswaal and Beatrice. I don’t think anyone ever mentions what specifically Beatrice is, but she is clearly extremely powerful but also bound to Roswaal’s mansion, and we have already seen that Roswaal himself is pretty powerful, magically. We’ll get some more detail about him later, but I’m still not convinced I know his entire motivation.
Joshua: Mach 1 Mary Poppins, without a doubt. His design is unusual to say the least, but the way he stands with an imposing presence, and seems to always be looking through Subaru when he talks, makes me suspect that he knows a lot more than he’s letting on. The problem with Roswaal though, is even when you put aside his makeup and exaggerated voice, he’s impossible to read. We also know he’s supposed to be incredibly powerful, which could make this mystery all the more important for the struggles to come, I suppose.
Paul: Roswaal himself is completely shady. I have no idea who he is or why he supports Emilia's claim to the throne, and I doubt he's acting out of a sense of philanthropy. How does he benefit in all of this? Does Emilia trust Roswaal, or is she merely using him out of convenience? I'm eager to find out.
Noelle: Roswaal, for sure. Granted, I like him (and his voice). He’s a fun character for sure, but I have no idea what he wants. I don’t think I’m particularly suspicious of him, but I do want to know what his objectives were.
Jared: At this point, I think it’s better to be suspicious of everyone since they could certainly pull out a surprise turn at the drop of a hat.
Carolyn: Roswaal seems like he’s up to some stuff every time he does, basically, anything.
Austin: Despite everyone being so suspicious of Roswaal, I actually kind of stopped seeing anyone in the household as suspicious after the reveal that they could smell the witch on Subaru… That said, I am beginning to put that initial dismissal into questioning.
Danni: I’m still suspicious of Roswaal, just because we’ve seen the least of him. He’s always come across to me as pretty menacing, but that might just be because of the clown makeup.
David: Yep. Roswaal. We’re not given almost any information about his thought processes or motivations at this point, so it’s only natural he is the most suspicious character.
René: Honestly, how could you not find Roswaal suspicious? I still expect him to be revealed as someone mischievous later on who at least tries to get favors out of Queen Emilia once she has ascended the throne as payback for his support, in a Rumpelstiltskin-kind of way.
If you had Subaru’s Return by Death power and a blue-haired oni maid with a morningstar killed you tonight, about how long ago do you think you’d wake up?
Kevin: I bought some apples about a week ago.
Joshua: I’d hope it would be before I had to make choices that were a little more life defining, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I returned to something more mundane. Last week, I was standing in an aisle contemplating which toilet seat to buy, so maybe then? I went for the middle priced of the three options, so perhaps my destiny would change had I went for the cheapest or more expensive, I suppose!
Paul: Hopefully far enough back that I could reconsider some of my current career choices. Working as a clerk in a public library may be a soul-crushing and monotonous job, but it beats being a starving artist.
Noelle: Similar to Kevin, I did go apple picking two weeks back-- I’m kidding. It’ll probably be at my desk at work, or on the bus.
Jared: I’d probably get unlucky and it’d send me back a year and I’d have to go back to school again.
Carolyn: Oh, boy. Probably stuck in the land of Naruto filler.
Austin: It’d probably get sent back to watching a virtual YouTuber’s stream since I’ve been doing that a lot recently.
Danni: I don’t know. With my luck I probably saved two seconds before my head caved in and would just be caught in a death loop until the console bricks.
David: At my desk watching anime, naturally. Thinking of which, Return by Death would be a convenient tool for catching up on seasonal shows…
René: Hopefully, not too far back. I’m close to having an empty email inbox for the first time since April. I would hate to lose all that finished work ...
And finally, highs and lows of the week?
Kevin: High - Subaru and Rem’s fight scene. From the choreography to Rem and Subaru exchanging trying to save each other, leading in to Rem wandering the forest as a demon to try and save Subaru, I really like the sequence. Low - Subaru figuring out that the puppy was the shaman. It took a rewatch or two for me to realize it, but Beatrice only tells him about the curse requiring physical contact before Subaru had the entire village touch him. He got every single person to touch him somewhere unique, so he knew that he would be cursed, but only later learned that when removing the curse he would be able to see where the shaman touched him. It’s a minor plot hole, but I really like these episodes, so I have to look pretty deep to find a low point.
Joshua: I adored Beatrice this week. Her constant irritation towards Subaru was adorable, and her snappy comebacks gave me life. She also shown incredible loyalty and resolve to stand by her word when she opposed even Mach 1 Mary Poppins and Ram when Subaru was accused of killing Rem (which was a really cool sequence too!).
The compassion Emilia shown in the lap-pillow moment was wonderfully pure, allowing Subaru to let his guard down and finally offload the feelings eating him up inside. Rem’s demonic outburst was tantalising to watch, and then there’s little things like the absolute heartbreak in Ram’s mourning cries (Rie Murakawa did a great job there!), and the perspective of Subaru’s pacing around making it look like Beatrice was spinning on the spot!
Frankly, these episodes were so good that I’ll have to get a bit nitpicky to find a fault, but I’m a little confused as to why everyone trusts Subaru so much? Their world is politically volatile with Emilia a likely target, yet when Rem dies of weakness only a day or so after Subaru asked Beatrice about the same subject, she still stood by her contract to protect him? I can’t exactly fault Rem there, to be honest. That’s a small detail compared to the bigger picture though, I suppose.
Paul: My high point was when Beatrice entered a contract to protect Subaru and followed through with it even though it set her against her employer and his entire household. I wasn't expecting that, and I think it hints at interesting (maybe even fiendish) possibilities for her character. My low point is the reveal of the shaman's true identity. I felt like I'd somehow missed two or three important chapters of a book when the story pivoted to focus on a minor mabeast invasion. I had assumed the curse was related to Emilia's election (and maybe it still will be), but the shift to a concurrent but unrelated threat struck me as jarring.
Noelle: High point, Rem fighting, both in her wailing on Subaru and brutally handling hordes of monsters. Now that’s what I’m talking about. Low point, wow, that dog was 100% not hinted at all to be a monster, huh. I thought it was interesting, because of course we suspected the humans first and not that the culprit could be a monster instead, but I wish there was more leadup to it. We got a lot about curses, I wish that infodump also contained things about monsters too, so we could at least guess that.
Jared: High points for me would be the fight scenes which were really well done and Beatrice just being a ton of fun throughout these episodes. Low point might be the shaman reveal because I thought it was a bit too obvious it would be the dog. Since Subaru learned it was through physical contact, I immediately thought back to the dog bite and figured that’s where it’d end up going. Plus, if Sailor Moon has taught me anything, it’s that pets that have “bald” spots are not what they seem to be.
Carolyn: I actually really liked the scene with Subaru crying into Emilia’s lap. That was very sad and emotional. The kid just needs a break and a friend. I’m not sure I have a low point. I liked this set of episodes quite a lot.
Austin: Gosh, there were so many highs. I actually cried when Subaru broke down in Emilia’s lap and “Houya no Yume yo” started playing, every single reason I really liked Beatrice on my first watch came rushing back to me when she formed a contract with Subaru, Rem’s anger filled questioning before killing Subaru after the reveal and Ram’s blind rage towards him after Rem died both hit me like a truck (voice actors and actresses sure are amazing!) -- I could honestly go on for longer than I probably should about everything I really liked about these five episodes.
As for lows, it felt a little too easy when Subaru won over Rem’s trust to the point where she’d risk her life to rid him of his curse in the tenth episode. Also, Subaru’s emotional turn around after Ram chased him and Beatrice down felt a tad “unrealistic”, for lack of a better word. Ultimately, those are pretty minor nitpicks, though.
Danni: This was a really strong selection of episodes in what I’ve found to be a real great show so far, so it’s hard to pick any single favorite moment. Beatrice continues to be my favorite character in the entire show so every moment with her is a treat, especially her honoring her contract with Subaru despite it pitting her against her employer. Subaru telling Ram the story about the two ogres was a pretty touching scene, as was Subaru breaking down in Emilia’s lap. Those kids are pretty cute together. I can’t think of any ultimately low points, really. Those CGI dogs didn’t look that great, I guess?
David: High is absolutely the scene where Beatrice defends Subaru, hands down. Probably one of the best moments in the whole show, too. Low is just in general how many times Subaru had to die to figure this one out. Gets surprisingly tiring to see the same days play out over and over!
René: I absolutely love the lap scene with Emilia, so that’s definitely the High for me. It’s not only a beautiful character moment but also really hits me as a wonderful anti-toxic masculinity moment as Subaru is just not able to keep up his facade as the strong hero anymore and needs to let it all out. I’m always a sucker for moments like this.
There weren’t really any Lows this week, so I’d have to go with the Shaman reveal, as well which is still not THAT bad. I’ll have to wait for next episode to have something for this segment~
