when you see those videos of the ocean waves being absolutely.... horrifyingly HUGE? and you think of the apostles and Jesus on that tiny boat and Jesus was sleeping and the apostles in absolute panic start waking Him desperately, "save us or else we die!" the acknowledgment that only Jesus can save them and the desperation that must have overtaken them knowing if He didn't, they absolutely would die under the relentless and merciless waves.

after rebuking them, He then rebukes the winds and the waves. and the merciless waves calm, the winds cease at the command of its Maker. imagine the sudden stillness. the boat that was once rocked violently by the waves is now still and quiet. the apostles marveled: "what sort of Man is this? even the winds and the waves obey Him!"

Okay, jokes aside, but he really did the bare minimum 😑

Although it makes me wonder if Nightbringer is really Barbatos as we are already allied with Diavolo in the future, who he serves. Why would we get the warning now? We need more insight into the Celestial Realm, not just the Devildom.

Next, we get wholesome brainrot with our 7 brothers if we decide to stay in the House of Lamentation.

We wake up in the middle of the night and find the brothers asleep in the hall 🤭

Now imagine MC trying to lift Beel.

And I seems our choices matter, because if we decide to go back with Solomon in 13-3, the dialogue in 13-6 is different.

( Note: The game picks the last option you have chosen. I picked the HoL option in 13-3 first and replayed with going with Solomon right after, so I was confused when in 13-6 I got dialogue with Solomon, wondering why we slept in Cocytus Hall when I chose the brothers first)

In Cocytus Hall, the 2nd option, we get forced to hug Solomon as we don't get an option to decline but rather be passive or active about it. At least Solomon asked. He apologizes for putting us in danger like that, and he has been really worried. Despite us not taking his side, he still considers MC a friend and wants to stay by their side.

Well, he could make our life easier and spill some beans. THAT would help.

Anyway, MC has to answer Diavolos Questions next. And it's wise to not be vague, although don't bother saying you are from the future. Barbatos calls us out for being arrogant, like how dare we say the Devildom is stuck in the past, lol.

Things get a bit heated, so we decided to take a break for now. Then we can follow Diavolo, raising intimacy points. He laughs at us when we tell him we are worried about him 🥲 Barbatos joins them but he is not the only one.

Ah, how... good to see him... Diavolo's childhood friend 😒 hooray.

My totally favourite character comes with a letter from the House of Lords, which results in postponing the issue with MC for now.

The House of Lords rendered Beel's meltdown as a declaration of war, despite it just being a side effect of a demon turned angel. But it's more politics than anything as they aren't happy with former angels in hell like we have seen from other demons. They are considered weapons in both Heaven and Hell

So Diavolo has to undergo a test called Kingsblood Crucible to prove he is fit to be the Demon King. If he refuses, he can't become King or he would die. (No one who failed returned)

The problem is that Diavolos' dad is the only one who could tell what the trial is like. The House of Lord's purposefully put Diavolo at a disadvantage. Well, he acts confident and decides to take the mission.

And takes us with him as a witness, well, not on purpose.

We get more insight into Diavolo's insecurities. But it is nice to see that his innovative personalit runs in the family. I hope we learn more about this God of War.

The lesson ends there, so in Lesson 14, we will help Diavolo with this trial. I assume we will get even more lore, plus we need to get Mephisto to give his adorsement.

hello icha!! i finally got around to finishing the stranger haha,, by which i mean i just watched it today. was veryyyy excited for it as i really like the poster design for this one. anyways. this event starting w/ the sort of portrait format or whatever / that narration is like. god. threw me right back to autumn troupe. I kind of love that the storytelling format itself is so distinct for autumn! the moment I realized it was omi I started getting teary… like oh man oh man… omi…. And the connection with him taking photos! ahh!! now that I think about it… omi kind of seems a bit like early version tsumugi, huh? also I keep forgetting this man is a college student lol. suspension of disbelief I suppose. onto the play i think like. mankai should invest in a fainting courch for tsuzuru. i also went to watch the play and 1) im betting yuki had a hell of a time costume design wise like the vines on the body? such fun costuming wise and 2) the ethical implications of whatever this play has,,, fun fun. tsuzuru was clearly having some kind of thoughts. i love zeros design and am always up for a3 characters crossdressing bc 1) i think its fun and 2) the costume design. i also dearly wish this whole thing was animated bc I feel like it’d be o fun to see taichi act as zero. or at least I hope this event gets full voiced one day... moving on to the scene where omi adds soy sauce to the paella I know it’s just like haha homare funny so lets five him a lil bit but like everyone in autumn troupe making their comments on the paella and like homare just jumping in. homare autumn troupe besties. just thinking. also the way they just r like. no no no omi it’s fine if u made a mistake!! it’s ok! we like it (you) anyways <3 it’s got it’s own special taste. something something omi’s perfectly pleasant as he is now but even if he weren’t on his a-game and was dealing with all of the biker gang stuff they would love him just as hard. another thing that got me was omi telling banri that he’ll give him something sweet so juza will stop grinding his teeth in his sleep… guys… guys you’ll give him cavities…. mb omi is a college student after all lol.

anyways when i saw the actual costumes. appreciative of them, i like the lil circuit-esque detailing on banri’s outfit, and that sakyo and taichi (nine and zero) both share that like collar detail? its very symbolic and probably also literal but its a nice way to sort of signify their relation to each other visually! also sakyo just looks nice. seeing him without glasses is so great. whoever thought up the like two mole detail for him was doing gods work.

something that confused me was ryo mistaking juza for nachi for a split second? like. does juza… look similar to nachi? or was it just that ryo only heard juzas voice and made that mistake. if it’s appearance wise too. kumon nachi confirmed. I’m joking lol bc I feel like I would’ve heard at least something abt it in one of the like small conversation comments, plus that doesnt seem like itd fit summer troupes style and kumon is for sure the wrong age… but still.

i really like how for this event, the roles for taichi and omi were kinda reversed. and taichis just so like. idk. smiley. rly lifts ur spirits. its kind of nice how this event contrasts to that cg where taichi is crying on omi. I also think like. idk. considering the story of the stranger. wolf gives zero a sense of purpose and life and I think that zero helps wolf lose his apathy. it’s about “the stranger” and the ending makes him like… not a stranger, right? because he’s got a companion. in the same way, taichi brings omi out of his emotional isolation. the picture taking! also the stickers coming back… thats such a good setup! the found family of it all!!

when he was trying to work out zeros character as soon as taichi mentioned a sharp speaking style I KNEW it was Yuki… yuki would never be as honest as zero is though lol… to me i imagine she’s got a sort of juza internal monologue feel? anyways. the taichi yuki dynamic intrigues me. havent yet decided how I feel abt it but when I do… yes. sorry that I make literally no sense. I think it’s very obvious that yuki is my fav chara kind of? I’m just. hmmm it makes me think! I’ve been monologuing to myself abt the yuki and juza dynamic lately which, to my a3 knowledge so far, doesn’t exist, but its ok bc I’ll make it exist! uhhh anyways this event was very good i liked the pacing. i think it didnt drag too hard and it really properly honed in on just omi and taichi, which was quite nice. they really did a lot for just an event!

time to listen to the event song,,, ok so. ah. i rly enjoyed just for myself it was very much to my taste so. out of curiousity i was like ok lemme look up the composer / producer AND IT WAS YUYOYUPPE....... that guy is like!!!! one of my FAV producers ever!!!!!! i know him from like. his vocaloid days and god leia is still one of my fav songs to this day...! this knowledge gives me so much joy omg!!! like wow!! wowwww!!! like i knew yuyoyuppe was out there doing other stuff (i know he worked on a lot of babymetal music which is cool) but like idk. to suddenly encounter it like this. heheh.... its so nice! made me soooo happy. going to relisten to leia now haha

Im glad you liked the costume and the play!!! yeah i love the designs and it is always a blast to see them this into it, and yeaaah Tsuzuru has thoughts huh. It'll get voiced sooner than later hopefully and there we'll see more in details :3c but also that's what made the seiyuu live so fun bc they perform the songs in play cosplay and replay a bit of the play everytime and it's *chief kiss*

aND DLKFJD yeah no Juza is supposed to look like Nachi physically, but mostly his face? like i think Nachi was had green hair? we see a sprite of him in a future story, and yeah, everything is in the eyebrows. so Kumon should be safe? Omi mentions he sees a lot of Nachi in Juza, and while it is mostly due to their passions i think, the fact they're also rough looking guy with a heart of gold must play a part as well. but yeah, he does look like Nachi a bit.

I feel like Taichi is really an emotional core of the troupe in the sense that is, he tends to catch on what others are feelings easily. And he uses it in the early chapters to ease off the tensions and stuff, but he was being held back by knowing he was deceiving them. So now that he's more free, he can be more of himself. but yeah i also love the contrast with how Omi was the one to help Taichi through his breakdown and guilt, and now it's the other way around, it's Taichi helping him through it. and the parallelism between the play and their dynamic is spot on imo! well said!!

and god yeah the sticker things made me cry sO HARD, and the pictures! and everything!! sobs it's such a sweet found family i'm going to cry :(

And! i love what you say about Yuki, Taichi and Juza on this one. I love that Taichi keeps bringing it back to "that childhood friend" and it's always like. so obvious who it is for us rip. But it can make you wonder if Yuki was more honest as a kiddo when Taichi knew him, though now he's clearly not. I love the mention of how Zero is more like Juza's internal speech (which, if anything is another argument about why you should let Juza wear a dress, cOWARD)

but also your mention of the Yuki and Juza thing, while i can't think of them having a dynamic per se yet, but i actually wrote a post during my reread about how i was baffled at the fact they treated Muku the same way?? like both of them tried to push Muku away because they were scared of how people would react if they say pure, sweet Muku was associated to them. And i find it fascinating because i guess those two are pretty aware of how the world see them, and it used to stop them from fully allowing them to be themselves.

I also find it relevant with the fact Yuki says in his personal song that while all of this way people judge him weight on him, he rather be himself, and "I want to love myself". Meanwhile we have Juza who's also aware of the way people judge him and it weight on him, and he wants to change himself from this person he hates, this self loathing - and in a way, he can grow in a way to be "someone" he may not hate, even on stage. I feel like those two have quite a bit in common in this way of being rejected by their peers in some sort of way.

I really want them to share some stuff at some point because there's really a groundwork on it all :(

But i'm really glad you liked that event!! agreed on the pacing and i do love what it brings to the characters! it really fleshes them out and have them move forward a little and it's pretty sweet.

Insights From the Talk Dead to Me Podcast

Okay, I teased everyone over the weekend that I’d have a lot to talk about today, and here it is. There was SO much interesting information in this podcast. 

New Mexico Symbolism

TD isn’t by far the only ones to connect the New Mexico symbolism. On the podcast, they talked extensively about that and about how it will probably play into the sequel. One theory they had (and I hope they’re wrong) is that they think Aaron will get Rick’s comic book death. They think it would mess with Daryl’s head so bad, it would “run him out of town.”

Personally, I don’t think Daryl would leave JUST because Aaron died. For all the reasons many of us have already talked about (him taking care of Judith and RJ, etc). If anything, I think it would make him want to stay more and look after Gracie as well. I really don’t want Aaron to die, though. Unfortunately, it would make sense for him to die, what with him being such a heavy Beth proxy so often, but I’d really like him and Beth to meet first. Just my head canon, but I can’t help it. And they may have a point about Rick’s CB death, given that Aaron has already lost his arm. 

Why Extended Seasons Instead of Just Doing S12?

You know how I keep saying it’s weird that they’re doing this massively extended S11 rather than just breaking it into S11 and S12? Yeah, this podcast told me why, and it makes perfect sense. In a nutshell: many of the actors’ contracts expire after S11. AMC doesn’t want to renegotiate everyone’s contract for only one season.

And that’s something I’m positive has changed. If they were going to season 15, they would have just renegotiated the contracts, no problem. But since they’ve decided to end it now, it would have been WAY more inconvenient. And the people on the podcast made a good point, saying that if the actors’ agents find out the show REALLY NEEDS them for one final season, they’re gonna come back with astronomical demands. And given the state of the world, covid, etc., those kinds of monetary demands really could tank the final season. So, I’m glad to know that. It makes tons of sense.

Let’s Talk AMC’s Social Media Practices

So, several of these people who do the podcast correspond with AMC regularly for social media reasons. They talked about how they’ll often press the AMC representatives they talk to for more information. For the most part, they get the same, vague promises we all get from Gimple. “We’re working on a script.”  Or the classic, “I don’t know any more than you,” crap. But these podcasters said things might have changed logistically with the Rick Grimes films as well. You know how back when Rick left, Gimple said they’d be doing a 3-film trilogy? Well, apparently, people have begun to notice that ever since then, and especially since CoVid, any time anyone close to the shows references the Rick Grimes films, they talk about them in the singular, not the plural. The Rick Grimes FILM, not the Rick Grimes films. And the podcasters think it’s because the show is playing it by ear. Due, again, to financial concerns, maybe they’ll just make one film and see how well it’s received before deciding to make another. Obviously, I disagree with that idea. I do think things might have changed, the same as them ending the series after S11, in that they might use something other than films to continue Rick’s story. But I think they have a specific story to tell and they’re going to tell it, one way or the other.

I also think they got a bigger backlash about the films than they were expecting. People really threw tantrums about the idea of having to pay money to see it in the theaters. People are just used to getting it free on TV, and I think the reaction took tptb by surprise. Anyway, now with CoVid, and theater attendance WAY down, and heaven only knows where we’ll be in a year, it wouldn’t surprise me if AMC and Gimple are rethinking that tactic. Maybe they’ll only do one film and then segue Rick into another series. Either his own, or the Daryl/Carol one. Kirkman ended the comics in the summer of 2019. That was AFTER Rick’s last episode. So I’m willing to bet that all the changes and shuffling started as soon as the comics ended. However it happens, it does show that more than one thing is being shuffled behind the scenes due to CoVid. But listening to this gave me a huge epiphany that I became illogically excited about, lol. It was nothing they said, but just me thinking through the implications of all of this. I’ve always believed Rick would return in some way. And even though I’d be totally cool with him having a reunion with his kids in one of the Rick Grimes films or whatever, I’ve always had a sense that he would return to the series, despite them telling us he wouldn’t. Well, as I said yesterday, the idea of him returning seems much less likely now that we know they’re ending after S11. But…something occurred to me. Gimple has adamantly said Rick won’t return to the TWD series. He’s never said anything about him not moving to any spinoffs. *mic drop*

Thoughts About the Daryl/Carol Spinoff

Nothing too groundbreaking here, but they did say that the Donnie shippers are super frustrated, which I’m sure is true. They said the Caryl shippers are happy, but not too over-the-top happy about it. (Their words. I really couldn’t say whether that’s true or not.)

They also said that, given how much the show has told us there won’t be romance between them, it will either be the ultimate reward for the Carylers (if they get together romantically) or the ultimate tease (if they don’t).

So, my point is that, outside the hardcore shippers at least, most of the fandom isn’t really thinking this is going to be a romance thing with Carol and Daryl. And because of that, they’re wondering where the show could possibly go with Daryl and Carol. Like, they’ve explored their relationship as far as they can and they’re questioning whether this series revolving around them will be worth watching.

Now, if we didn’t know what we know or hadn’t theorized what we have, I would agree whole-heartedly with that. There has to be more to this spinoff than just Daryl and Carol running around killing zombies together. Even the GA is a little confused about this and thinks there must be more to the story. And, you know, there will be.

Coda Replay (And We Didn’t Even Realize It!)

This came together for me from multiple sources. I have an Ask in my inbox that I haven’t answered yet. It’s from a Nonny who obviously wrote in when the big news broke. He/she says that AMC announced the end of the series and the spin off…and then deleted the post. I wasn’t sure what to make of that, because it doesn’t seem to me like anything’s been deleted. At least on Twitter, the post with the press release and the announcement is still pinned to the top of the account. And probably different click bait sites have reported on it. So they don’t seem to be trying to hide it. I didn’t really know what to make of that, except maybe one of the posts was deleted for logistical reasons (typo or something) and then reposted, and the Nonny just thought it was suspicious when really, it wasn’t. Then I listened to this podcast. And guess what? One of the clickbait sites that was slated to give the announcement, IGN, posted it like two hours early…and then deleted their post.

One of the women they talked to used to be a social media manager for AMC. She isn’t anymore, but she worked for AMC for several years. And they asked her about the “leak.” She said that she felt badly for the company that leaked it early. She said when there’s a big announcement like this, there are dozens, maybe hundreds, of moving pieces behind the scenes. Basically, AMC has a whole network that they coordinate to release the news all at the same time. So, it didn’t surprise her that someone, every so often, messes it up and releases it early. It’s just a lot people and moving parts to keep track of. So like maybe, if they were supposed to post the announcement at 8am central time, maybe they posted it at 8 their time, which was too early. That sort of thing. And okay, I guess that makes sense. But there’s just one problem with that explanation. The EXACT same thing happened with this announcement as happened with Beth’s fate in Coda. One of the companies released it too early.

That’s why, the day the news of the show ending broke, people were talking about “rumors” of TWD ending before the official announcement was made. Between that, and all the references we’ve seen (‘bringing characters back from the dead,’ and ‘the six episode coda,’) I just don’t think I can believe in good faith that this was a coincidence.

A little more about AMC social media accounts.

This just confirms what we’ve suspected for years. This woman said she was one of many social media managers. But all that means is that she “managed” several of AMC’s social media accounts. As in, she posted on them and interacts with fans and comments.

She in no way, shape, or form had any say about what was posted or when. She specifically said that such things were WAY above her paygrade. She suspects that such decisions went all the way up to Gimple and Kang. Like there’s someone who follows them around, and when one of them says something needs to be posted, that person texts all the social media managers and they post it. Boom. The writers 100% control what goes out on social media. What it is, what graphics to use, how it’s worded. Everything. #TDforthewin!

She also said that if someone leaks the news early, everything is reconfigured and they quickly shore up to protect the narrative and make sure everything is correct and appropriate. Very interesting.

He also asked her if she thought IGN did it intentionally or on accident. She was obviously being careful not to throw too much shade, but you could tell she definitely thought it might have been done intentionally. Oh, and also? The podcast guy said he knew about the leak because he had to wait until a certain time (I want to say 8:30 am, but I don’t know which time zone) before he posted about it. AMC told him what time and he made sure not to sleep in so he wouldn’t miss it, but he logged on and people already knew because of the leak.

So once again, even this podcast, who claims not to be directly affiliated with AMC (even though they totally are) is getting posts, directions, etc. from AMC. And that’s important with what I’m about to tell you, because the people on this podcast have definitely mentioned Beth in suspicious contexts more than once. And this podcast was the farthest thing from an exception.

Talking About Beth Randomly

That leads me to my final and the biggest thing that stuck out to me about this podcast. Let me first say that I generally like the podcasters and their attitudes toward the show. For one thing, none of them are pro-Caryl. Most of them like Carol all right, but don’t want her and Daryl together romantically. Obviously, I like that.

Unfortunately, they were kinda being punks about Beth in this episode. They went on a little TD-bashing session. As I said the other day, they didn’t mention TD by name or anything, but it was more of a “did you know there are people out there who think Beth is alive?” kind of thing. And they were being really sarcastic about what they thought about that. But the entire discussion still felt SUPER suspicious to me. They were talking about the OTHER spinoff. Not the Daryl/Carol one, but the “Tales of the Walking Dead” one where they’ll tell the back story of deceased characters. One of them asked who the others would like to see back stories of. Out of nowhere, one of them yelled, “Beth!” Seriously. Out. Of. Freakin. Nowhere. And then they basically started making fun of TDers. They talked about how there really are people out there who think she’s still alive. Then one of them said “those people” think that Beth had a twin sister we never knew about and she’s the one who got shot and Beth is still secretly alive. I had to chuckle and shake my head at that. Maybe there’s someone, somewhere in the fandom who thinks that, but I’ve never even heard anyone argue that before. Have you? He then called people who believe that a great big pile of stupid. So yeah, obviously they were being punks. But the conversation about Beth went on and on. One of them said they hoped AMC did a Beth back story in that spin off series, just to mess with the heads of the people who think she’s still alive. And then someone else replied that she doesn’t have a back story to tell because we know it all already: farm, prison, Grady. (I’m sorry; who’s one big pile of stupid to NOT notice the missing 17 days in S5?) Even though they were basically laughing at us, it just felt really deliberate and contrived. And then, one of the women says, “I hope she shows up in The World Beyond.” Seriously? After that, they finally kind of went, “Anyway…” and moved on. But they didn’t even mention any other names in answer to the question about who else they wanted to see back stories for in that second spin off. They ONLY talked about Beth. I siriusly sat there with my jaw hanging open because again, it just came out of nowhere, and they mentioned her—extensively—in conjunction with BOTH spinoffs AND threw in TWB. Just saying.

You know how I said earlier that they claim  not to be affiliated with AMC, though they totally are? Well, technically these people are part of Skybound. (Upper left corner of the picture below.) So in that way, they aren’t directly AMC. But we all know Skybound has posted MANY suspicious things about Beth over the years. And as I established above, they’re definitely being fed what to post by AMC. 

So I feel like that applies here as well. It’s almost like AMC told them to mention Beth in some way, even if it was by way of making fun of people who think she’s alive. So they found a way to bring her up in conversation. And hey, maybe these podcasters really don’t know about Beth’s return. Maybe they think AMC wants them to make fun of or dismiss the idea of her return. But either way, they contrived a way to talk about her, and they would only have done that if AMC told them to.  Okay, I’ll shut up, now. That podcast just totally rocked my world. Thoughts?

Praying | Aziraphale x Reader (Good Omens)

You replayed what had happened in your mind over and over. It had only been a couple of hours since it had happened, but the pure worry that was drowning you was unbearable. Every time you thought about it you wanted to cry, but had to remian strong. For him.

(flashback)

He wanted to talk to God. Which, of course, was difficult even for an angel, yet he tried. It worked (sort of, he could only talk to a messenger) and once he'd finished, you looked at him with a sympathetic smile.

"It's alright, Az. You did your best." You cupped his cheek and he looked at you with worried eyes.

"Thank you, y/n. But i need to stop this apocalypse or i fear...i fear i may lose you." He whispered darkly.

"Don't worry about me. It'll all be ok, i have upmost faith in you." Your attempt to comfort him worker somewhat, yet he was still a little concerned.

You gently rubbed his shoulder before heading to make some tea, not realising that the messenger was still open. You entered it and could feel yourself begin to literally die, and it all happened so fast you barely remember from there. You do however remember Aziraphale push you out of the way, and you fell to the floor.

"FUCK!" He exclaimed as he realised what was about to happen to him. He calmed himself and turned to you with a steady expression. "Y/n, it's ok, i'll see you soon...if i can....oh y/n...i-" he spoke, flustered.

Before he could finish, he disappeared. You stared at where he had just been, and tears filled your eyes. This was your fault. You began to cry, fearful of what might have happened to him and when he'd be back.

Your mourning was rudely disrupted as you realised you'd knocked over the lamp, and a fire had started behind you.

'Great, not only have i accidentally sent my boyfriend back to heaven, i've burnt down his bookshop!' You mentally scoulded yourself. You had to collect yourself swiftly and run out of the shop before you were burnt alive.

(end of flashback)

Everything was blurry from your tears. You were know back at your apartment, sobbing quietly in your bed. You wanted him back, and you craved to go back to the bookshop. The wonderful smell of books, the quietness, warm tea...you could barely think about it without choking up.

You hated this. Lying in bed feeling bad. You wanted to help him somehow, even though you were just a human. Maybe you could find the Angel Gabriel? You'd met him before, he seemed...decent enough to help. Then, a thought popped into your head.

You scrambled out of bed and knelt on the floor, ensure how to properly pray but you were going to try anyway. You pressed your hands together and began to speak, hoping it would at least do something for Aziraphale's benefit.

"H-hi, God. Sorry, i'm not really sure how to do this, i haven't prayed in a long time. Sorry for that. But i need your help. Aziraphale was accidentally sent back up to heaven...i-i think...and i just really need him back. Please? I know we're not dating or anything but i really like him and- i just...really need him back if that's alright. Thanks. Amen." You blabbered and stuttered, trying to get all your words out. You hadn't realised you weren't crying anymore, which was odd because you definitely were when you began praying...

Aziraphale steadied himself before looking around, confused and dazed. He recalled what happened, the portal, the messenger, you.

'Y/n! Oh no, she must be so incredibly worried! She probably blames herself too...i need to get back to her, no matter what.' He thought, collecting his thoughts and walking forward to find a way back to earth.

He came across a model of the earth, so he assumed that's how he'd return home. However, before he could do that, someone shouted at him.

"Hey! You! What are you doing? Get changed, for gods sake!" The angel yelled.

"What? Oh, no. I'm not fighting." Aziraphale explained, much to the other's surprise.

"Of course you are! Get changed!" He tossed a uniform at him and stormed off, leaving Aziraphale quite taken back by the rudeness of that angel. Before he could even consider changing, a voice Aziraphale recognised all to well came up behind him.

"Aziraphale! Long time no see." The voice said in a friendly yet rather hostile way. It was Gabriel.

"Gabriel." He replied in greeting, nodding his head slightly.

"I've seen you with that little human of yours, very sweet." He remarked, smiling. Aziraphale smiled along, a little confused. "Unfortunately, Angels and humans can't, as they say, 'date' because, you know, we're angels!" He laughed, creating unnecessary banter.

"Y-yes, of course." He replied nervously. He felt ad if Gabriel was about to say or do something horrible, the build up was certainly there.

"Anyways, you better get ready. The war is upon us, Aziraphale. Good luck!" He patted his shoulder roughly causing Aziraphale to flinch, and he felt like he had no choice but to change.

He yearned to see y/n. All he wanted was to see them, to feel them against him. He wanted to hug them more than anything. He'd decided that when he sees them again, back on earth, he'd confess. Confess to how much he loved them, and how much he needed them.

"Please god, if you're listening, send me back. Send me back to them." He whispered, and before he could say anything more, the floor beneth him began to fade away and he was falling....falling.....falling.

Until finally he reached Earth, landing with a thump on his feet. He looked around, all this moving about was making him feel a bit ill. He rubbed his temples before admiring his surroundings. He was in a field.

Flowers blanketed the ground all the way up to the horizen where the sun was setting, and he recognised where he was immediately. He was where he had taken y/n for their birthday last year. That's when ye saw you, sat just a few meters in front of him. You hadn't noticed him yet, but when he cleared is throat, you turned around. You scrambled to your feet, and lept into his arms as sobs escaped your lips.

"Y/n? My dear, it's only been two days-”

"It's been seven months..." you sobbed, still clung to him. Aziraphale said nothing, he just held you tighter. "You disappeared and i've been praying every night for you to come back, begging God to send you back. She heard me." You pulled away, smiling with tears still streaming down your cheeks.

"Y/n i'm so sorry." He whispered, tears welling in his eyes. A few of them fell, and it broke your heart to see him cry. You cupped his cheeks, wiping the tears away with your thumbs. "I love you." He breathed, and before you could reply, he leant forward and connected his lips to yours. It felt right, you were both made for each other and you knew that now. He pulled away, and stared at you lovingly. Suddenly, shock spread actoss his features.

"The apocolypse! Didn't it happen?!" He exclaimed. You laughed, and shook your head.

"It's been 'postponed' according to Crowley." You shrugged, unsure what was meant by 'postponed' but you didn't care. All that mattered was that Aziraphale was back, and you were together again.

"Oh, ok..." Aziraphale looked confused, but shrugged it off. "Let's go home." He smiled. Your face fell.

"I...it burnt down, love." You spoke sadly, and to your surprise, he didn't shout or even look upset, he just sighed with a smile.

"I didn't mean the bookshop, my dear. We can go anywhere, anywhere in the world. Anywhere i'm with you, i'm home."

Okay anyway, let’s get started: GAMEPLAY

Kingdom Hearts 3 is BEAUTIFUL. The gameplay is so smooth and intuitive that you can immediately get to playing like you’d never done anything else; in fact so smooth that I doubt I will ever be able to pick up the first game ever again. It’s always been fun, but the looooooong years’ gap actually did wonders to the gameplay.

The keyblade form changes are fun and keep things fresh, you can do flashy triangle button shit every other minute, and shotlock is still insanely useful without being a game-breaker.

It seems easier than the first two main games, though?

The gummi ship is still a pain in the ass to steer, but I do enjoy the open world-like travel options (even if there’s not… much to discover except heartless lasering the shit out of you). I’m also eternally grateful that they kept the gummi ship thing from KH2 where you can just use a new gummi ship once you got the blueprint and don’t buy actual fucking legos as in the first game.

Thank you, Square. Not thanking you for the dumb cherry flan game, though.

The Caribbean being basically an open world stage was delightful! Apparently what our resident island kid needs is a big ship and tropical islands to plunder.

VISUALS AND STUFF

PRETTY LIGHTS EVERYWHERE

The long gap between the games also did wonders to the visuals.

There’s finally, FINALLY a few towns with actual NPCs you can talk to. Why it took the team so many years and the Gods know how many games is beyond me. The magic effects are beautiful, the animations smooth (honestly you can hardly tell apart cutscenes and fully rendered CGI scenes in this day and age of the PS4. I’m probably the only person still amazed by this because the only games I played on PS4 before were a few hours of Child of Light and of course Tales of Zestiria and Berseria. No, I still haven’t played FFXV but that’s a topic for another day). How far videogames have come.Even space finally looks like space, lol. Not really high-end what the PS4 can do I assume but god, it’s such an amazing and much needed upgrade from the terrible textureless colourful tubes you flew through before.

No excuse for the terrible battleship thingy before the Keyblade Graveyard, though. I got lost and beaten up so many times and crashed against more walls than I can count.

Nothing beats the World that Never Was, but the Keyblade Graveyard also has creepy cool potential, as does the beautiful but ghosted City in the Sky.

Still not getting what’s with JRPGs and very Definitely Final Dungeons (TM) that are basically space. …………or heaven. Or nothing. I’m getting the bad kind of original NGE TV series ending vibes. But. Okay.

The soundtrack is splendid

.……I miss Traverse Town and Radiant Garden, however.

Which brings us to:

THE WORLDS

I guess I can live with no more Final Fantasy characters being there (although I always loved that), and the meta jokes in Toy Story world really got me. Seeing Disney characters calling the KH villains call out on their shit was delightful. …the KH characters lampshading their own games’ sloppy dialogue writing was delightful.Still, those Disney worlds are always so much more in my head than what I actually get to play. This has been bugging me ever since the first game and it still does. I do not expect or want to replay the entire movies, but would it hurt to give the cutscenes some goddamn background music? Whenever there’s cutscenes, either the world’s usual BGM keeps playing or the music stops altogether. Together with the shortened dialogues and generally drastically shortened plots with odd cuts, that leads to scenes that are awkward at best. They never even remotely have the impact the movies had. You just sit there and think “oh wow that is so silly and awkward”.

Dancing scene in Corona? My favorite scene in Tangled. Zero impact on me without the lovely BGM (at least they made it a minigame so the moment isn’t over after 3 secs). Just for example. You can ask me like, world by world, but I can think of only exception off the top of my head and it’s not helping:

Let it Go of course. Listen guys, I actually love the song. But it’s so overused (and Frozen is an overrated movie at best that doesn’t deserve its hype in the slightest) that I can’t even really enjoy it being there. Like.


IF THAT’S OKAY WITH YOU,WHY DIDN’T YOU INCLUDE LITERALLY ANY OTHER ORIGINAL SONG FROM THE ORIGINAL MOVIES. Instead of BGM just not being there entirely, or in odd, cringey re-renderings that nobody wants to listen to (*cough* Atlantica *cough*).

Why torture me and not give me the one good scene from At World’s End (the up is down scene) when you had the chance?Kingdom Hearts is also prone to super lazy level design and wasting chances at wonderful scenery for no apparent reason other than I suppose empty cliffsides are quick to render. All games before did that, and KH3 is, sadly, no exception. We get to see a bit of Corona and Athens and they finally have NPCs, too, but you cannot even get near Arendelle. You cannot enter Elsa’s palace. You spend the entire time there climbing around in the snowy mountains of Norway, and unfortunately it looks less interesting than one would expect from the lovely concept art that the film unfortunately never used.You cannot enter Rapunzel’s tower although Sora can apparently parkour his way up even without her help.

………In short, the places you can go are, again, very limited, and a lot of interesting places and scenes you never get to see.

And to follow the plot you still only need the stuff that does NOT happen in those Disney worlds because they’re all beach filler episodes. It’s always been like that, but I keep wondering whether I’m the only one bothered by that. I’m also still salty they didn’t introduce a single new world from a 2D animated movie.

Also, as I said, I miss Traverse Town, it felt so warm and welcoming and beautiful.

And I get behind The World that Never Was missing although I loved it there, but why not give us back Radiant Garden? Destiny Islands since they’ve been restored? Disney Castle?

As much as I love the series, it never fucking lives up to its own potential. Idk whether it’s made more difficult by copyright issues or whatever, I just know that it bugs me.The first two games also had like twice as many worlds.

PLOT

I mean it’s never been deep; however, it’s complicated. No analysis or whatever from me because plot analysis and meta writing bore me like seven hells, just my emotional reaction: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH 
Okay, bad news. I got into it expecting nothing, and still got disappointed. I don’t actually enjoy the prospect of writing essays about it, but here’s my tea with it; in not particular order:

1) the pacing is terrible. Nothing happens for like 30 hours and then suddenly like 20 characters’ arcs are (naturally poorly) resolved within the last few hours of cutscenes. Build up anyone? At least they actually did pick up Maleficent and the box thing again. …In the epilogue.

2) Speaking of build ups, Sora’s breakdown could have been developed nicely and steadily over the game to feel natural, and instead it’s hinted at in the beginning by everyone picking on him, but then it’s never further developed and comes out of fucking nowhere. Like. For real? It felt terribly OOC.

3) Why on earth have they shown 90% of the plot in the trailers already, and why are those scenes so massively disappointing in context

4) Kairi. Oh god, Kairi. What are we gonna do with you. I want to love her, I really do, but she’s a prime example of shittily written female leads. Mostly because she’s not leading. It’s not her fault. She’s just a fictional character. But honest to God, Nomura, why. Her screen time is almost nonexistent, and she’s entirely use- and helpless whenever she’s on screen (which isn’t often). Her ONLY point in the plot is being rescued because she is fucking useless. Why. Just why. Why waste her character like that. All we know is that she’s shoehorned into being the token love interest, but she has zero plot relevance and there is even less build up of her relationship with Sora. It’s all tell and NEVER show; and not even much telling, either. She has literally zero direct interaction with in the entire game before they share their paopu. The question remains: why are straights like this

5) On a related note: look, I don’t even ask for (or expect, or even hope) my ship to be canon. Squeenix doesn’t exactly have a rich history in queer representation. I’m totally fine with Sora and Riku being best friends. BUT. Building up Sora as the most important person in Riku’s life (and arguably, vice versa) over the course of several games, just to then hardly have them interact in the finale and then SUDDENLY bring back Kairi into the equation, who hasn’t interacted with him since the ending of KH2 (except for one unsent(?) letter) is just piss poor writing, period.I actually love Cray’s suggestion she gave me over Discord: let Sora, Kairi and Riku all share a paopu together (and let them group hug, too, you cowards). It would have been the perfect message to send (Sora as truly all-loving hero, and loving all your friends equally; romantic love isn’t more important than platonic love and doesn’t need to be singled out). Really sad that this isn’t what happens. Apparently that wouldn’t have been no homo enough.

6) Time travelling is a bitch, Christ. It doesn’t solve plotholes or can be played for drama, it just adds MORE plotholes. It just got WORSE. The cloning blues and people not aging doesn’t help, either.

7) Just so you know, I care absolutely zero for wild fan theories. You’re not Nomura. I want a statement from the man who wrote this shit himself why on bloody earth Sora dies when he apparently successfully found and brought back Kairi (and since nobody aged a day, apparently it didn’t even take that long lol). DUDES, THIS IS KINDA PART OF THE PLOT, AND YOU DON’T BOTHER TO EXPLAIN IT INGAME???? And how was Ienzo/Zexion able to revive Naminé while Kairi was still missing/dead/whatever…?

Okay so in short the writing is worse than ever and that’s saying something.

However, let’s try to find something good in this trainwreck; it wasn’t all bad. There’s some really nice scenes which sadly are better enjoyed without any context at all.

So, guess my favourite scenes.You had time enough, here’s the solution:

1) Purifying uhm er rescuing Aqua. Poor girl. She deserves the rest. Poor, poor Aqua. The only properly wirrten female in the whole damn franchise. Also the only person other than Riku who fucking gets shit done.

2) The Gayblade (TM)

3) Happy Axel in the reunion with his kids. Oh god, the poor chap deserves it so much. Thank you, Nomura. I don’t care that it makes pretty much no sense. Make him happy. Give him his friends back. Just give Axel all his friends and let him happily set things on fire. Hi I love Axel

4) The party at the beach cutscene before the credits roll. Axel and Xion get clothes. Half the organization is on our side now. I almost teared up at the Wayfinder trio saying goodbye to Eraqus’ forceghost. Hey come on he’s the voice of Luke Skywalker

5) Sully yeeting Vanitas

6) Woody calling out Xehanort that nobody loves him

7) Jack Sparrow bad breathing Luxord

I wish we had gotten:

1) justice for Kairi

2) a happy Zexion, the poor emo kid. Well maybe now he will be, with all the orga members who changed sides now, lol.

I really, REALLY hope the epilogue means we will get Xiggy/Luxu as our new big bad and we learn more about the five dudes and dudettes from the movie. Please. PLEASE. I’m so up for it. Them finally pickung up the bit with Maleficent and the mysterious box again? Hell yeah.

The secret movie was really unexciting in comparison, although I laughed very hard at the “Verum Rex” scene in Toy Story world. Maybe that’s why it was much cheaper to unlock than in KH1 and KH2.

4) give Ven a drink

DLC ideas I would actually pay for because I’m a sad human being: 1) more Disney worlds 2) Japanese audio 3) at least one of the following as permanently playable characters: Riku, Kairi, Axel, Ven, Aqua. At least as a guest member as in KH2. THIS SUCH A BIG STEP BACKWARDS I’M FUMING

FINAL THOUGHTS

Kingdom Hearts 3 is a hella lot of fun, beautiful, and also moving when it sets its mind to it. Unfortunately it doesn’t always do so. I don’t feel like it wasn’t worth the wait; it was. However, I’m very salty how rotten the writing is. I do not mind logical fallacies, I do not mind the cheesiness and cringeyness; however, I do mind how so many interesting characters do not get the screentime they deserve, and Kairi is a very bad joke.

I’ll probably find more to nitpick about (Gods. Just. Don’t come up with dub excuses why Sora is lv 1 in each game. JUST LEAVE IT BE. You don’t explain why Donald and Goofy are lv 1 again, either. JUST. LEAVE. IT. BE. The sacrifice was dumb and not even moving, I’m just still furious that Kairi’s ONLY point in the plot is being so useless that it’s literally getting herself KILLED and she needs constant rescuing to the point that Sora has to sacrifice himself for her, effectively. Kairi deserves better, Sora deserves better, I deserve better than to think about this absurdity.…I’m just… gonna cherry-pick the good bits from the lore and try to pretend the finale didn’t exist, I guess. GODS.

Neo City in San Jose Day 2 recap pt. 1/2

heyyo it’s the day after the concert i’m still trying to take in the fact that that experience really happened....it was a fantastic show, everyone looked awesome, and I was singing along to every song with the rest of the crowd bc it was a full house and we were HYPE AF!!!

I’m thinking i’ll just note my favorite parts of the show by going through the setlist and noting everything that stood out, with a few fancams, and then talk about the individual members

Got to the concert site at like 6pm and got banners for the fan project, which i’ll talk about again later 

the bus was there and the squad really wanted to take a pic but there was a local news station there filming something and they didn’t let us stand in front of it >:(

we were let in really quickly which was really neat, great staff

there’s merch stands when you first walk in and tbh everything was really pricey (tote bag-$30, lightstick-$50, t-shirts-$50, hoodie-$70), BUT each item came with the upcoming album (i think they gave you a postcard with a code so you’ll have to order and get it sent to you but you won’t have to pay again)

the auditorium was City National Civic in San Jose which has a really annoying ticketing website but other than that, it’s a really good auditorium. My friends and I were split into P3 and P5 on the balcony but all the seats up there are angled so that you can see the stage anywhere

we sat next to a a mom and her daughter! The fact that the mom bought tickets for her daughter and stayed and had a good time was really cute

someone had a watermelon-shaped sign asking Mark to prom and idk if he saw it but sis I hope it all worked out sdkjfghkd

they played mvs as people came in and we all screamed really loudly when winwin showed up :(

concert started at 8pm!!

I didn’t know they’d do cherry bomb in english but in retrospect i should have expected this lol, it was lit regardless and we all sang a lot! I loved the member’s dance solos!!

limitless was performed third and i kind of wish it was fully live instead of that half live, half screen thing they did but only because limitless is my favorite title track hehe

at think at this point doyoung was doing A Lot and I said something like “oh my god. he’s doing too much. I’m so mad. This is so upsetting” and someone in front of me turned around and gave me a look so I want to put out there that Doyoung is my bias wrecker and I’m not trying to be offensive when I talk about how mad he makes me, it’s just that I’m trying really hard to stay loyal to my bias and Doyoung is always testing my patience. It doesn’t mean I hate him when I say those things, it’s just. Stress.

They did their first ments and they all said things in english and it was obvious that it was scripted but i thought it was cute, thet all worked hard and had good pronunciation

I really like the choreo to fly away with me :( I’ve never seen it before but it’s really pretty and graceful

BACK 2 U THEIR BEST SONG I was truly blessed to hear Taeil’s high notes live even if the sound system wasn’t the most clear

The City 127/Angel/Jet Lag section was really nice, I liked their clear vocals and how cute they were interacting with each other (DoYu was cute!!)

I liked the lightstick choreo that was going on with Replay (and later for 0 mile)! It was cool and interactive

They did ments after Simon Says and Johnny made us all do the wave and hit the whoa lol

Fire Truck was lit as always and I was kind of shook by jungwoo taking over winwin’s part, he did really well!!!

The encore section started with the MV for Highway to Heaven and listen....I’m getting this song as soon as it drops. superhuman slaps too but highway to heaven is EXACTLY my style and the vocals are amazing

They did more ments and DoTae said they went to Pier 39 in SF together and it made me kind of emo San Francisco is my hometown and I’m really glad they enjoyed it. :’)

somehow mark got our banner for the fan project and clowned us for the directions that said “hold this up during welcome to my playground” BRO YOU GUYS CUT IT OFF THE SETLIST and there wasn’t time to change it!!!

concert ended with 0 mile and more lightstick choreo! I didn’t have a lightstick but i played along anyway and it was fun!!!

concert ended at like...11pm and I got home at 1am and slept at 3 and woke up at noon therefore i’m still kind of dead but i don’t regret anything, that was one of the most fun nights of my life :’)

THIS CHAPTER: July: lewd conversation. Enabler: nudity, tickling, toe-kissing, dressing the other person.

Sorry this chapter is so short but it was just the best place to cut it off lol. To those of you who want more of Summer/Yang, there will be a little more later on (though Enabler is still the OTP of this fic, don’t worry). To those of you who DON’T, there will be warnings in those chapters.

True to her word, Yang didn’t even so much as look through the door to the back patio a single time as she finished her lunch, then went up to take a shower when her laundry turned out to still be drying. By then, the intensity of the moment had faded, and she didn’t even wind up needing to “take care of it” while in there.

Not that her cruel brain didn’t keep drifting back to the moment. Unlike with Ruby, reminding herself that Summer was her dad’s wife helped a lot in dispelling those lingering bits of attraction. The memory would probably wander in at weird times for the next few years but it was easy to say “She banged your dad” and make it go back from whence it came.

But again, that didn’t work with Ruby. For some reason, the half-sibling factor didn’t phase her; it should have, and it did make her gut twist when she thought about it, but it didn’t lessen her attraction at all. She wanted to be with her so much it burned.

Once her laundry was all put away and she went back downstairs, Summer was coming back in, still in the robe - or more likely, in the robe again - and carrying a magazine and an empty glass. Her cheeks were a little pink and she was swaying slightly, which told Yang she’d poured a little extra something into that glass to help her cope with what had happened before.

“Oh, hey,” she offered casually, getting a water from the fridge. “Looks like you got all cleaned up. You look nice, dear.”

“Thanks,” Yang snorted as she turned on the TV.

“Isn’t this the part where you say I look nice, too? Oh, wait… you already did that today.” A little chuckle. “Sorry, I shouldn’t joke like that. It was… well, I just shouldn’t.”

“Y-yeah. I mean, no offense, but I’d rather not think about it anymore. Like… you’re my stepmom.”

Nodding, she came over and sat down next to Yang. She was relieved to see she was moving carefully enough so that no flaps fell open or anything like that, and she left a good foot or so of space between them on the couch. Their closeness didn’t exactly put Yang at ease, but she didn’t think she needed to freak out yet.

“I understand. Did a lot of thinking about this while I was outside, and… I’m trying not to blame myself, but the important thing is, I can’t blame you for… well, for being human. I might be your stepmom, but you said you think of me as an attractive woman, so… naturally, if you see an attractive woman in her birthday suit-”

“Thanks for the instant replay!” Yang burst out in embarrassment, trying to somehow hide behind the remote. It didn’t work.

“Sorry,” Summer told her as she patted up and down her bicep. “Ooh… do you work out?”

“Mrs. Xiao Long…”

“All I’m trying to say is, I might tease you once or twice, but I don’t really blame you for… well, saluting me with your flagpole.” At this, she snickered a little. “Right? Get it?”

Laughing weakly, she reached over and patted Summer’s shoulder. Like she would do for Blake, or anyone really. “Right. Uh, maybe you should drink a little more of that water.”

“I know, I know. Had too much wine; I was… having an anxiety attack.” When Yang blinked at her rapidly, she shrugged and added, “About my stepdaughter having a hard-on for me? Kind of anxiety-inducing!”

“It wasn’t ‘for you’, exactly! Just… about your body. Like, you as a person, I still want to be like… my second mom, but more like an aunt? Kinda?”

That made Summer stop and smile at her, a genuinely touched smile. “Awww… oh, that’s so sweet of you!” Then she uncapped the water and took a long swig, apparently thinking better of Yang’s advice. “Ahhh. So yes, this is good; your body wants to bang mine, but intellectually, we still remember we’re family. That’s what’s important.”

Again, Yang felt the knife twisting as she thought about what she and Ruby were to each other. A sudden urge to tell Summer all about that filled her, but she ignored it; she wouldn’t understand. Nobody would. Telling her would only mean she got shipped back to New England much earlier than she expected.

“Anyway, I’ll start cleaning up before they get home,” she remarked as she pushed to stand up. “But… I’m really glad we could figure out our way around this very unfortunate situation. That we didn’t end up shouting, or hating each other.”

“Or worse.” Yang didn’t even finish her thought; they both knew the only thing that would be worse.

“Right,” Summer breathed, nodding with wide eyes. Then she smiled down at her. “It really has been nice getting to know you, Yang. Seeing you and Ruby getting along. I’m glad we have you here.”

“Me, too.” Then she waved as Summer went off to her room to change, trying her damndest not to watch her move as she went.

Taiyang and Ruby returned not long after that, stinking to high heaven and carrying a bucket full of fish to be cleaned and sorted. Looked like they were going to eat well that night. Yang tried to talk to them, but they smelled so powerfully that she had her hand over her face the entire time, so eventually they both excused themselves to go shower up.

Yang followed Ruby into her room once she got out of the shower. There was no point in keeping this a secret from her; she knew Summer asked, but she never promised her that she wouldn’t tell.

“You what?!”

“Y-yeah,” she muttered, cheeks red again as she scratched the back of her head. “It was super awkward and uncomfortable, and I wanted to melt through the floor and disappear.”

The shorter half-sister was standing there with her eyebrows disappearing into her hair, hands on her hips partly out of outrage, and partly to hold her towel around her body. “And what, you wanted to bang her?”

“I told you, having one doesn’t always mean I want-”

“Yeah, yeah,” she sighed, puffing out her cheeks as she scowled. “Well, it’s still weird! I mean, it’s my MOM! Isn’t it weird to you?!”

“You know, when you think about it… you look a lot like your mom, don’t you? So doesn’t it make sense that I’d think she was cute, too, since… since I think you’re cute?”

It was a pretty desperate shot, but Yang felt like she had to take it. Luckily, Ruby seemed to agree. She didn’t let go immediately, but she at least rolled her eyes and stopped yelling at her.

“True… I mean, I guess that does make sense, and I can’t act like my mom’s not attractive. Not to ME, but objectively, sure.” A little shrug. “It’s still gross to me that the dick I like poked my mom one time, though.”

“Through clothes. That’s a super important detail; I wasn’t naked, and technically she wasn’t, either… at that point.”

Pushing a hand into her face, she grumbled, “I can’t believe she did that while we had company! I mean, she sunbathes nude all the time, it’s nothing new. Heck, we did it together and it’s not weird; I’m her kid, she changed my diapers, right? But like, with strange people in the house…”

“I’m ‘strange’, huh?” Yang half-heartedly chuckled as she finally leaned against the dresser, letting some of her adrenaline subside. “Can’t argue with you there.”

“So… if you weren’t already doing stuff with me, would you have wanted to with her?”

“What?! NO! She’s banging my dad, that’s a whole other kind of line I don’t wanna cross!”

“Not at the same time as him! GOD!”

Squinting at Ruby, she demanded, “Please don’t tell me you’re actually jealous of your own mom. You really don’t have to be.”

“Well…” Pouting a little, she said, “She’s older, and she knows more about this stuff than I do. Like, I know you didn’t do anything, and you don’t want to, but… you could be having normal sex by now with her instead of me jerking you off through your shorts.”

“So what?” Yang said immediately. “I don’t care about that.”

“What about her body? Is it… hotter than mine? Like, I wouldn’t even know one way or the other.”

“Ruby… come on, don’t do this. I’m sorry, okay? Like I said, none of this was on purpose, so I hope you don’t keep giving me shit about this.” Leaning forward, she kissed Ruby’s cheek. “Seriously, I don’t care about your mom as anything besides being your mom. I swear.”

After a few breaths, Ruby muttered, “You’re right. I know, I just… feel dumb, and weird. Sorry.” Clearing her throat, then she added with a little smirk, “I’m glad you didn’t take care of your dick while you were showering, though…”

Yang goggled at her for a few seconds. Then she shook her head and muttered, “Shameless. You’re totally shameless, you know that?”

“Maaayyybe.” Sparing a tiny smile, she bit her lip and leaned up to whisper, “Maybe I can distract your brain from thinking about my mom, too.”

“Oh yeah? How?” But when Ruby reached up and nipped her towel off, letting it fall to the floor, she said, “Oh… that’s how.”

Of course Ruby’s body was every bit as gorgeous as her mother’s. Flawless in every way, and very slightly perkier. She had seen more of her from the back before, but the front presented a few more interesting things for her gaze to linger over. Yang tried not to look at the soft, pink nipples or the little untrimmed thatch of brown hairs overlong; they were intriguing, but they really weren’t alone-alone.

“Is it working?”

“Ohhhhhh yeah.” Then she seemed to realise what she had said and how she said it, and chuckled self-consciously. “W-what I mean is, uh, yes. Yes, it’s working. Good job.”

“Good,” she giggled. “Um… are we really that alike? Body-wise.”

Snorting, she poked Ruby in the stomach as she said, “Pretty much. Like, a couple small things, but you got a lot more of your mom’s genes than our dad’s. I think mine were pretty evenly split.”

“Like what’s different?” she asked, turning from side to side and looking down at her body, as if a flashing sign would point out the changes.

“You sure you want me to tell you about this?” A nod. With a shrug, she tapped her chin. “Well… she trims it up down there. Tattoo, and of course you don’t have any tats. Uh, her hips are a tiny bit wider? Probably from squeezing you out.” Ruby made a disgusted noise. “And she has stretch marks from that, too.”

Nodding, Ruby piped up, “So basically, if I ever have a kid I’ll turn into a clone of my mom?”

“Yep.” Grinning to herself, she started poking more as she said, “And you’ll have marks here, and here, and over here-”

“HEY!” Ruby laughed, convulsing a little. “Not again!” After a few more ticklings, she backed onto the bed, flailing and cackling aloud as Yang attacked her until she was red-faced, tears streaming from the corners of her eyes.

Then Yang was pinning her by the wrists to keep her from retaliating, chuckling as she grinned down at the sniffling and giggling girl below her. After a few more seconds, they both stopped laughing… but the smiles remained in place.

“Love you,” Ruby whispered up at her, so earnestly that Yang could feel her heart squeeze.

“Me, too.” Leaning down, she kissed her very gently, and Ruby responded without any hesitation. “Totally in love.”

Nodding, she bit her lip before reaching up to squeeze her shoulder through her shirt. “And I’m super cool with that now. Still weird, but like… I know that it doesn’t matter how weird it is. How I feel about you is more important than how other people feel about how I feel about you.”

Yang was still lying there, partly next to and partly on top of her half-sister and trying to think of any words that could match those, when a knock came at the door. Then their father shouted, “Hey, girls!”

“DON’T COME IN!” Ruby shouted right away. “I’m not dressed yet!”

The door had started to open a half-inch, but then shut tight again. “Sorry! Hurry up, come watch me clean the fish for dinner!”

“Why?” Yang groaned, trying to calm down after having been scared out of her mind a moment before. “I don’t wanna watch fish guts spilling all over the place…”

“You should learn this! Come on, don’t take too long!”

“Okay, Dad!” Ruby called back. After his steps receded, she turned to Yang with a mischievous glint in her eyes. “That was close!”

“Yep.” Leaning in, she pressed her lips just behind Ruby’s ear, earning her closed eyes and a sigh. “Mm… I keep thinking that this is such a bad idea… but like… you’re right, we might as well be honest about this. I like you, and you like me.”

Nodding, she raised a hand so her fingers could trail over Yang’s cheek. “So much.” Then she sat up on her elbows. “Do you wanna dress me?”

“Huh?”

“Dress me up, like a doll. Put my clothes on me. I want you to…”

The light blush in Ruby’s cheeks and the way she was gazing at Yang made her heart beat so fast she thought it might gallop out of her chest. So she made a joke, to distract both of them. “Ain’t I supposed to wanna do the opposite?”

“Yang,” she hissed, and they both laughed. “Maybe later.”

Then Yang got up and went to the dresser. She pulled out a few things, ones that more or less matched, and went back to Ruby, holding up the underwear and adjusting them so that the leg holes were lined up correctly.

“Come on, let’s do this.” Ruby slid her legs through, but then she pushed a foot into Yang’s face. The blonde grunted, “Cut that out!”

“Why? They’re clean.” When Yang merely glared down at her in annoyance, she giggled and booped her nose with the big toe. Not that Yang truly minded; as she had said, they were recently-scrubbed, and soft. “You don’t like my little piggies?”

Rolling her eyes, Yang grabbed her ankle and kissed the toes. “Don’t be dumb, of course I do. Every part of you’s on the list.”

Then she forced the leg down and away so she could pick up the pair of shorts. While Ruby was pulling her panties better into place, she wrestled her legs into the shorts, as well. Then she stood up, looking upward into her big sister’s eyes as she held her arms up for the shirt.

“Why… do I get the feeling you really like me doing this?” Yang asked.

“Told you already, it’s nice. Letting my sis take care of me.”

Blushing a lot more than those words should have made her blush, Yang forced the shirt down over Ruby’s head to cut off their view of each other for a few seconds. Give her time to recover. When the head popped through, it was grinning, and Yang shook her head before pulling her into a hug.

“Stop being so cute. It’s annoying.”

“Annoying?!”

Watching their dad clean the fish was both irritating and disgusting, but also fascinating for Yang. Ruby had been through it a time or two, but this was the first time Yang had ever seen anything like that. She looked and listened, and tried to make up for not having gone with her dad in the first place.

Maybe it was partly guilt over what she and Ruby were doing when out of sight of the adults, or maybe the secret the three of them were keeping about the incident with his wife. She felt completely awful keeping so many secrets from him… but she knew that telling him would be the only thing worse than keeping secrets. It sucked, but this was just the truth of the situation, and they would all have to get used to it.

Which was why she finally did bring up bowling. He jumped on the chance, which did make Yang feel even worse, but simultaneously assuaged some of her previous guilt; at least she was doing something about it now. When she and Ruby went back inside to tell Summer, she smiled and said that she would be happy to go, even though the glance she gave Yang was a little more awkward than it had been before.

“God, you weren’t kidding,” Ruby whispered on their way back out to the garage. “You two really did have an almost-thing!”

“You think I’d make up something like that?!” Groaning in annoyance, she rubbed at her face while Ruby giggled. “I’m glad you think this is hilarious.”

“Sorry. It’s just super weird.”

“Actually, I mean it; I really am glad that you do, instead of being weirded out. At least that makes one of us. It’ll be hard to put the whole thing behind me. But I’m gonna try.”

Threading her fingers through Yang’s, Ruby leaned up to kiss her cheek for the brief second no one was around to see it. “I believe in you, Yang.”

“Thanks for the vote of confidence.”

If you don’t know what Shadow People are, you’re in for a treat! Shadow People have been part of folklore and religions for ages, and are typically believed to be spirits or demons. Recently, there is a movement claiming these Shadow People are from a different reality. Now, I’ve been a big fan of these shades for a while … Heck, I even added my own interpretation of them in The Night Weaver! But here’s the thing: I never realized there was a movie made about them. So, guess what we’re watching? Yup, Shadow People. 🙂 I’m pretty excited about this one, because the trailer looked freaking awesome.

In the mood for a haunted house/possession movie? I am! Another flick I haven’t watched is Out of the Shadows, which looks uber-creepy. Thank God for Youtube’s algorithm, which suggested this trailer, because phew. I wouldn’t have found it otherwise. Anyway, I’m not sure what to expect, but it promises some demonic torment, which is always a win.

The Hallow is a rewatch with some evil faerie vibes. Like, super evil faerie vibes, I kid you not. Not a lot of people enjoyed this one when it first came out, but I totally loved it because it’s one of the better films revolving around changeling lore. Also, this film plays off in Ireland and the creepy woods are just out of this world gorgeous!

Books

Keeping up with the Bad Shadows and Good Bones theme, let’s get into what I’m reading this week. Now, last week I posted my 2020 Spring Reading List, which kind of gives an overview of everything I want to read this season.

I’ve already finished Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout, which I kinda loved weirdly enough, and I’m halfway done with the sequel, but I want to mix things up when I’m done with Onyx because I’m a little annoyed with the way the story is developing. I’ll return to the series eventually, I’m sure.

The Leaving by Tara Altebrando is definitely next on my list, because I am craving a good mystery, and nothing says: “MYSTERY” like people going missing. I’m really hoping this book is as good as I’ve built it up to be in my head.

Then, it’s time to delve into the wonderfully dark mind of Stephen Graham Jones with his newest release, Night of the Mannequins. I’m also pretty excited about this one, especially since I’ve seen some folks chatting about it.

Music

I’m currently listening to Get Scared‘s latest album, Dead Days, which is totally helping me with my writing. A bit of metal is always helpful when you’re struggling to get the right words on paper. That’s my top tip to new writers. 😉

Another album I’m constantly hitting replay on is The Gloomy Tapes Vol. 2 by Call Me Karizma. It’s a shorter album, but it’s pretty cool. Definitely give that one a listen if you’re looking for alternative indie music.

Writing

So, I’m hard at work writing the third installment of The Night Weaver Series. Yes, I am a little annoyed after having to delete 7,000 words this morning, but that too shall pass. LOL! It happens. It’s part of the job. And believe me, it doesn’t matter how in-depth your outline is, there’s a good chance you’ll veer off your chosen path at some point. That being said, I have a deadline for the Book #3 by the end of the month (heavens help me!), so if I go quiet at times, this is why.

In October, I’m also starting on a brand new project which is a collaboration piece. I’m not going to give away any deets on this one yet, but it’s going to be awesome. 🙂 Also, my collaborator (or shall I call her my accomplice?) is an absolute darling! You’ll love her. 😉

So, there is no way I’ll finish writing my BIG horror book this year. There simply isn’t enough time left. BUT I am working on it when I have a few minutes to spare and I have high hopes that it’ll be done by middle next year.

Website

I’m systematically changing my website up a bit. Updating some pages, creating new pages, and whatnot. The general feel will remain the same (don’t worry!), but I have some new extras I want to share on The Night Weaver Series page, for example. We also went for a little photo shoot on Monday, so I’m super excited to get some of those photos up. Ooh, and I am also working on a longer bio, so that everyone can get to know me a little better. 🙂

Phew! This was quite a post, huh? Well, I think I have said everything I can say for now. Next week, I have some other pretty-pretty stuff to share with you guys, so be sure to check back!
