This was NOT what I expected at all! I thought it was a jealousy fic but the fic being about David being frustrated over Max's lack of jealousy is very in-character! Of course, his insecurities would make him think it's because Max doesn't care about him that much. We def would've explored it in LDV if it was written from David's POV, so I was very happy to see it.

I love a good masquerade ball so this was AMAZING. I was wondering if you had any inspo for the outfits or had any songs you listened to when you wrote this? Just curious 🥹

it’s in the sandman universe, but you don’t need to know anything about that to get into it!

it’s about two dead boys named Charles and Edwin. Edwin is from Edwardian England and due to a complicated mistake, he spent 70 years in hell. He managed to escape, because he is very smart, but that has an effect on you that the show deals with. He’s also gay, but very repressed, and I won’t say how he died but that’s certainly not helping things.

Charles is from the 80s, he’s the so-called brawn of the two, he is very kind and he hits every problem with a magical cricket bat. He’s great. He dresses kinda alt, he wears earrings and is gorgeous, but I think he is also very emotionally repressed considering he is obviously bi but is convinced he is straight.

they run a detective agency where they solve the deaths of ghosts so that they can pass on. However, they are constantly running from death, because if death catches them, they will be separated from one another in heaven. On top of that, there is a very good chance that Edwin will be sent back to hell if death ever catches them. They want to stay on earth together and continue their investigations without fear of being separated.

the characters are very very well written and interesting, they just kind of capture you. I picked it up because I thought the aesthetics and premise were cool and similar to good omens (which I am obsessed with). It surprised me by being so unique and refreshing for a modern streaming show. The colors on the show are so good, as well as the cinematography and symbolism. The characters are all really compelling, and they are all given the right amount of screen time. Theres a Cat King who is a wet cat of a man. And the witch villain is hot. I don’t make the rules.

it’s a sort of monster-of-the-week style, it feels like it was made for a 20 episode season but unfortunately that didn’t happen. They still make it work very well though! You know that post that like “guy who knows he’s gay but doesn’t know he’s in love with his best friend and guy who knows he’s in love with his best friend but doesn’t know he’s gay”? It’s like that.

She’s out there, impulsive, doesn’t think through her decisions, and is not good at dealing with consequences or emotions or well. Anything.

Her dad is part of the Siren Council (each species has a council that makes decisions, laws, etc) so he’s an Important Government Person. Unsurprisingly, Maya breaks a lot of laws. I’m not exactlyyy sure what laws she breaks or why, that’s in development. And who does she drag along with her?

Jack!

Second one was also made by Pulim!!!!! Jack is an 18 year old vampire and he’s an embodiment of that “shy bi and ready to cry” meme. He’s basically the opposite of Maya in almost every way, he’s a massive overthinker and prefers to make decisions with a lot of info. He is also NOT good under pressure. Basically I made this guy and then gave him every disorder. And I love him.

He has a soft spot for maya (unfortunately) and so he comes along to make sure she doesn’t do something reckless and get herself killed. He’s also dealing with not wanting to be a vampire, not feeling happy within his skin, wishing he was born different, etc. Over the course of the story he’s gonna deal with that.

Yeah that’s the gist there’s some lore stuff and loose plot threads I’m thinking of but I won’t talk tooooo much

General Opinion over said character: so cool!! hes so awesome. i like him. i like how hes so powerful but then also just so chill. as much as people are sad about how little we see him in canon, i really like how he'll only pop in once a while. good for him for skipping out on the canon's bullshit all the time hehe

Alright guys I’ve decided to split up my "review" of phantom italy into many posts because god knows I don’t have the patience to make one well thought out post. Also I use the term review loosely. I’ll be listing random remarks, not making a structured text, I m on vacation dammit hehe.

AUCTION/OVERTURE

Not much to say about the auction, the chandelier was quite nice but for me the real showstopper is the transition that takes place during the overture.

Since this is a smaller production the chandelier doesn’t get lifted above the audience, instead it simply ascends to the ceiling of the stage.

However they absolutely make up for it by taking advantage of the turning stage to offer a very cinematic looking transition where you get introduced to different characters while the overture plays.

I’m sure I’m forgetting someone but the managers, Joseph Buquet, Mme Giry and others all get a turn to walk on stage in slo-motion as if going about their daily life at the opera.

I actually found this much more entertaining than the usual simple « chandelier lifting » transition

HANNIBAL/THINK OF ME

I loved Carlotta in this production. She definitely stood out in comparison to other Carlotta’s I’ve seen.

Instead of simply being a whiny Diva you really get the feeling that this Carlotta cares about her position. Her theatrics simply seem like a conscious act to make people do what she wants.

However I will point out that she sometimes didn’t pronounce her lines very clearly, which is obviously not an issue if you are a phan who has memorized every word but I can imagine a first time audience member might have a hard time understanding certain things.

Earl was amazing as Andre but you guys already knew that hehe.

I’ve already seen someone talk about this but I did love the costuming for the rehearsal. Half of the actors had accessories thrown on over their normal suits which is definitely what most rehearsals usually look like in real life. The theatre kid inside of me relates hard.

Loved Amelia as Christine. They used the turning stage during think of me which I once again found to be a good way to add visual interest to a usually pretty basic scene.

Meg was absolutely in love with Christine and that is so valid for her. I think she might have been more obsessed with Christine than both Raoul and Erik combined.

We’re talking hand holding, never ending eye contact, hugs, also this meg is SO annoyed that her mom makes her go rehearse, all she wants to do is stare at Christine for 5 more minutes mom plsssss

*coughcough* anyway, back to the canonical romance.

I would love to be able to describe Christine’s reaction when Erik’s « INSOLENT BOY—» blasts in but I think I was too busy literally melting at the sound of Ramin’s voice to pay attention sorry.

Because of the limited sets the mirror Erik appears through is actually the one of top of Christine’s vanity.

It is a little funny to see Christine lift her skirts to scale her vanity but I actually quite liked the effect it gave overall. The elevated mirror not only gave Erik a little more height which looks very ethereal and intimidating but it also made it look like he was a sort of portrait coming to life and breaking out of painting into reality… I’m not great at explaining these things but just trust me it looked very gothic and cool hehe.

Just noticed I didn’t talk about Raoul at all… Raoul existed, the end. (The actor was actually really good, I’m not at all trying to throw shade at the him I just could not care less about Raoul if my life depended on it.)

AAA I’ll continue this soon hopefully, I have tons more to say about the rest of the show :DDD

Ice (he/they), my next oldest fursona (late 2020) and their brother, is probably just a cat. He's the most uptight of the friend group, valuing rules and structure much more than his sister, but if you push the right buttons (and you find him on a good day), he can be persuaded to join in on some good, preplanned fun! BJ (he/him), my newest fursona (2022) and the newest member of the friend group, is a catdog, but he's not related to the siblings; he just showed up one day and wormed his way into their hearts. He used to always be anxious, but he's working on getting past that and finding who he is, step by step.

#the Fox and the Vole

This is my Warriors fanfiction-y story! It doesn't use any of the books' characters or environments—I made whole new Clans and characters—but it still uses the terminology. haruka: hehe. hehehe. hehehe. i love how much of a bitch she is. she turns all the sailor soilders gay (bar the child cos she's a child). i love the fact that she chanlenges usagi's right to the throne at the end. i love her convistion adn thet fact that she isn't afria to get her hands dirty, and the fact that she loves michiru. i love the fact that revolutionary girl utena was inspire by their relationship. all four lesbians are totally not both my lock screena nd home screen. i love that she can drive even tho she shouldn't. okay it dose get annoying that they don't help the sailor soliders sooner but like it makes sense cos of the way the manga is set out. we're ignoring the fact that this is the longest character sestion totallty not because i was waiting for her for ages and she's like my fave or anything

michiru: she so pretty and calm. really is watch moment

soide note ye: so like it annoys me that both michiru and ami are technically water. well ami is water and michiru is the deep ocean. and like they even flavour ami's to be more mist and bubbles (ceaser) but like it annoys my brain in like a really dumb way

sestsuna: girlie. you be space and time. why is your attack death scream. oh it's because you can't use that to attack with cos you get into trouble. that's okay proceed with being a queen and slay your enemires. wait noooo not yourself

hotaru: ooooh she has issssssuuuuuuuuuesss. poor girlie. okay but like in all seriousness i really like her relationship with chibi usa it's adorable. her awakening as sailor saturn i thought was really cool. i love how she's just like a neuke pheonix it's very funny

Kaolinite: okay so errr she exists. almost figures out who sailor moon is but dosn't. then she dies. but then she's back cos the professer brought her back . honestly i thought she was a clone bt no. and then she gets jeaslous and dies again. cool. i mean i remember you exists which is more than i can say about other villains on this list but still

souichi: who? oh yea/ so this is both hotaru's dad and i'll also use this as the double up for the even alternate dimentional being that's enhabiting his body. gotta love an evil cooky scientist villain. very fun to play with. i really like his relationship with the first 2 of the witches 5 (the others had like one episode each i don't caer). and then like once he's just a normal dad again his love for his daughter is so cute.

Eudial: she's my favorite of the witches 5. girl just drives out of what ever she wants and slays the glasses look. her desperation to get the talisments that unlock the holy grail is so good. and she almsot did it too which is very impressive. also her death brutal. kinda my fave of all the underling villans they really did put a lot of time into her

mimete: the build up to her was more interesting to me than when she was actually the villain the sailor soilders were facing. she straight up kills eudial in cold blood but then just turns out to be a fam hog and have a crush on like every famous person

tellu: i semi forgot she existed. like i remember her episode cos it's such a good one to protray chibi usa and hotaru's frindship but like she didn't do much. but to be fair if her plan had worked it would have been game over so that was cool
