It’s hard to remember how it felt before…

Now I found the love of my life…

You hummed to accompany the soft bustling of the local market as you tried to rummage through the shelf for the perfect box of baking soda for tonight’s dinner. You were amused to see Aomine standing there awkwardly, sticking out like a sore thumb as he always did. It seems that nothing had really changed after the two of you graduated.

“Daiki,” you smile fondly. “You do know you’re blocking the aisle, right?”

“Sh-Shit.” After mumbling an apology to a curious passerby shopper, he turns to you again before he scratches his neck. “So… whatcha doin’?”

Passes, things get more comfortable…

Everything is going right…

“What do you think?” you stifle a chuckle. “I’m shopping here. My question is, what are you doing here? You’ve been standing there like a dunce.”

“Uh, well…” he haphazardly pulled out a wrinkled list from his usual navy puffer jacket to squint at the scribbles. “Shopping for groceries.”

“Let me guess, you were trying to look for banana milk here. But you do know that this is the baking aisle?”

“Wha—?! Tch, that’s not it, (y/n). I’m looking for—”

“Daiki! There you are!”

The two of you turned to an unfamiliar woman, bundled up in scarves and fleece while looking out of breath. You shot a curious look when Aomine approached her to flick her forehead before burying her head into his chest.

“Geez, how many times do I have to tell you to pay attention to where you’re going? How do you always manage to get separated from me?”

“O-Ow! You didn’t have to flick that hard…” she mumbles into his jacket. “I was trying to scour the store for banana milk because I felt bad for dragging you here with me…”

“Okay, okay, sheesh,” he sighs before flashing her a rare gentle smile, the one you used to have the privilege to lay eyes on so often long ago. “You can stop frowning now.”

And after all the obstacles,

It’s good to see you now with someone else…

She finally noticed you standing behind Aomine from a distance before she asked with sparkling eyes, “Daiki, who’s this?”

He widened his eyes in remembering that there was an audience in the first place, and he glanced back at you before turning to her.

“Oh, yeah… (y/n)’s a—”

“I’m an old friend.” You smoothly answer for him, and you hold up a friendly wave to introduce yourself. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, and you are…?”

“I’m his girlfriend,” she giggles shyly, tugging her hands behind her back with a faint blush. “I don’t know if we look like a proper couple, but anyways, I hope we get along together!” You turn back to the selection of baking sodas before plucking the “best” one and gingerly putting it into your shopping basket, hanging from your arm. You return your gaze back to her with a gentle smile.

“If you’re looking for banana milk,” you instruct, shooting a teasing look to Aomine on the side. “It’s located 4 aisles down, though it’s in a pretty obscured corner on the shelves. Not many people would find it at first glance.”

“I-I see!” she exclaims, frantically taking note on a scrap of paper.

“Are you two shopping for ingredients to make teriyaki burgers?”

“H-How’d you know?!”

“Damn, y’all talk so much, it’s annoying,” Aomine grumbles, clearly embarrassed about the ordeal. “I’m gonna be waiting over there.”

And it’s such a miracle that you and me are still good friends…

“Hey, wait—! Ugh, sheesh, I’m sorry about him… he can be a bit childish sometimes, and…” she trails off, thinking of ways to apologize for his roundabout behavior. You merely laugh before you wave a hand off to signal her to think nothing of it.

“I know.”

We have changed, but we’re still the same…

After all that we’ve been through…

“Then…” she gulps before hesitantly continuing, “would it be too much to ask for you to show us the way around the store? I mean, well, it’s our first time here in the area, and the store is so jam-packed…”

“I don’t mind. Shall we go? Aomine is never the patient one, after all.”

“Right?! Sometimes, he gets all pouty and grumbly like a kid!”

“Yes,” you laugh, walking with her side-by-side towards where Aomine was standing. “He can be difficult sometimes.”

“You two look like you’re having way too much fun,” Aomine comments, sighing before he straightens his posture from leaning against the fruit stand for a while. “How did you even get chummy with each other that quickly?”

“It’s all thanks to you Daiki,” you tease, purposely phrasing it in such a vague way to keep him guessing.

“O-Oh! You call him by his first name too! You did say you’ve known him for a long time, right? What was he even like back then?”

“Jeez…” Aomine roughly ruffles her hair to stop her from saying anything more. “(Y/n), don’t answer that.”

And now we’re hangin’ out with your new girlfriend…

So far from where we’ve been…

“Hmmm…” you ponder, remembering the times when you used to spend your free time on the rooftops with him… the times you both went to Maji Burger together… the times you were dragged to the street courts with him to watch his new tricks…

… the kisses you two used to share.

“He wasn’t… so different, actually,” you fondly recall. “Always impulsive, stubborn, childish… but he’s also dependable and straightforward.”

“Huh… come on, I wanted to hear stories of him crying like an actual baby,” she playfully whines, but then her eyes shine when she sees that sign for the aisle that the banana milk was in. “Stay right here! I’ll get the pack quick!” Once she disappears into the aisle, both of you stand there in comfortable silence before he speaks up.

“Didn’t expect to see you here.”

“Was that why you were staring at me earlier?” You tilted your head to wait for his response, and he turned his head to the side before looking at you again.

“… Yeah.”

“How have you been, Daiki?”

“Doin’ good, more or less. What are you even doing here?”

“My college is right around the corner, so I recently moved here to make things easier to access and travel. My internship won’t be lenient on me being late, even if I live far, so I had to make arrangements. You?”

“That’s good, right? Having an internship will get you work easier,” he replies. “But naw, I’m just here because she dragged me over. We live pretty far, but she wanted to make a stop here to make something for me before I go on a plane to America.”

“You’re going overseas?! C-Congratulations…! It’s about your dream to make it to the NBA, right?”

“It’s not a big deal, yet,” he mumbles. “I still gotta practice if I wanna get scouted.”

“Practice, huh…” you trail off, and silence envelops the two of you again.

And I’ll be happy for you,

If you can be happy for me.

“I’m back!~” Daiki’s girlfriend huffs out of the aisle with a triumphant grin. “I found the last one! Shall we move to find the rest of the ingredients?”

“Of course,” you cheerfully say, making a mental note for yourself to also grab the rest of the items on your own grocery list. “Let’s go.”

Before you finish your sentence, however, she’s already bouncing meters ahead, eagerly keeping her eyes peeled for any ingredients for the burgers, leaving you two behind again.

“She’s quite an energetic one, hm?”

“Yeah, yeah.” While he sounded quite flippant, his narrowed eyes showed nothing but affection for her.

“It’s really good to talk to you again,” you whisper. “It feels like everything is falling into place again, and everything would be okay.��

“I get ya,” he says, slightly stretching before nudging his chin ahead. “Come on, let’s get moving before she ends up getting lost again.”

“Right behind you.”

And just so naturally, both of you raised your fists simultaneously to give a resounding fist bump before you two started walking to catch up to her. No further words needed to be said when the two of you had always been so in tuned with each other.

I know we’re cool,

—Summary: In which news of playing against a certain team sparks a rather interesting memory...

—A/N: This drabble is based on episodes 52 & 53 of KnB, but you do not have to watch the series to understand this story’s overall premise! It is also inspired by Kesha’s song “Grow a Pear” (hence the title LOL) because I immediately think of Kise’s character. Since Seokjin reminds me of that 2D pretty boy, I decided to write a fun story!

“Hey, ___!”

A faint hum exits your lips as your eyes remain fixated on your player statistics book. You flip between a few pages with the gears in your brain working in overdrive, almost forgetting for a split moment that Kaijo’s basketball captain asked for your attention.

“Yes, Sungwon?” You reply, closing the book and tucking it underneath your arm.

Pursing his lips, Sungwon strides over to you, leaning against the stage inside the gym. Don’t you love playing inside an auditorium?

“So…” He begins but grows silent. How on Earth is he supposed to ask you to be the sacrificial lamb? How will he tell you that you’ve been chosen to say the team’s resident narcissist yet talented prodigy that Kaijo will play against Fukuda Sugo? Specifically, they’re playing against a certain someone with a rather colorful history with yourself and said prodigy.

Tiny creases form on your forehead as your brows knit together. You know that carefree look anywhere. More often than not, you become chosen to do a specific task that no other teammate wants to do—talking to Kim Seokjin.

“Now, before you say no—”

“Nope.”

“You didn’t even hear what I have to say.”

“Doesn’t matter. My answer is still the same. No.”

With that, you turn on your heel, and not even a few steps in, you bump into the one person you don’t want to see.

“Princess!”

And to think…

You were having such a fantastic day…

“What do you want, Seokjin?” You question, grabbing the statistics book from your underarm and flipping it open to some random page. You already have the data mesmerized like the back of your hand. You just want to appear busy in front of the arrogant pretty boy.

“Well, besides you finally acknowledging that you’re my girlfriend? A little bird told me that we’re playing against his team in the Quarterfinals,” Seokjin replies, his tone dropping near the end. This serious expression slowly takes over his handsome features, almost sending shivers down your spine.

If looks can kill, then Seokjin is guilty of murder in the first degree...

Thank God he chose to attend a different school. Who knows what will happen if two people who absolutely despise each other play on the same team.

“Remind me to thank Namjoon for that…” You mutter, slightly shaking your head as you slowly draw in your breath. Then, a force, light chuckle escapes your lips, personally finding it rather humorous of the current situation.

“Anyway, so how are you feeling about playing against the dude who has a thing for your sloppy seconds?” You tease, attempting to lighten up the situation.

Seokjin’s brow perks up, “Sloppy seconds?” he repeats, a tiny grin form on his handsome face.

You nod, “Well yeah...I mean, he did steal your ex-girlfriend from you.”

In response, the arrogant basketball player hums. However, this exciting gleam enters the corners of his eyes.

What is he thinking now?

Suddenly, he turns to you, his gaze piercing into yours with this unexplainable emotion glazing over his eyes.

“Oh? I mean, he did come close to stealing you away from me that one day.” He states as this bright smile dances across his gorgeous face.

For a split second, your cheeks become hot. Your heart practically drums against your chest. Shit. Even your palms clam up, sticking to the cover of the player statistics book.

What is this feeling?

Then, it dawns on you. This nervousness is the same emotion you felt when you comforted Seokjin that fateful day—well, supported him in your own unique way…

Tapping your pencil against your chin, a soft growl emits from your lips as you try to figure out the best course of action. The Captain, Kim Namjoon, previously asked you to develop a plan to preserve the Generation of Miracle’s stamina, specifically when using their rather unique talents. At first, you thought Namjoon was flat out insane for asking such a request. Like, you’d have to take into account their height and weight difference. Oh! You couldn’t forget that you also keep in mind their current talent levels. All while these calculations occur during an official game with another team.

Yeah...

Namjoon might as well tell you to put on a fucking jersey while he’s at it.

Rubbing the sides of your forehead, you can’t help but let out a long, harsh breath as this throbbing sensation enters the left side of your head.

“Hey, manager ___.” You hear a familiar voice, interrupting your rather irritating calculations. You look up from the tiny pile of scattered papers containing player statistics. However, you don’t bother spouting words towards the overly cocky player. Instead, you merely hum in response, unknowingly irking the basketball player.

Plastering on a smug grin, the person leans against the stage, quickly glancing at what you’re doing.

“So, is that the special project Namjoon asked you to do for him?” The arrogant male student asks.

“Yep, and shouldn’t you be practicing Seungcheol?” You question back, raising a brow.

Seungcheol scoffs lightly, “Why? I mean, I already earned a permanent spot on the regular team, so…” He trails on, chuckling to himself. He finds the mere thought of his spot being taken away quite humorous.

You mentally roll your eyes. God, you don’t know who’s the bigger arrogant fool. Him or—

“Yo, Seokjin!” shouts Jungkook, running up to the new recruit.

Ah, Kim Seokjin. He recently joined the basketball club just a few months ago. He’s already showing promise despite being a second-year student. Shit. Seokjin’s talents have rapidly progressed to the point that Namjoon took notice of him and was promoted to first-string just last week.

Yet, you can’t quite put your finger on it, but something is holding Seokjin back.

But what?

Before you become entirely lost in your thoughts, you hear Seungcheol’s arrogant voice taunt Seokjin.

Oh, great…

You swiftly stand up from your seat and rush over to the argumentative duo. But as you draw near to the quarrelsome pair, you instantly halt. What is this intense atmosphere lingering in the air?

And why do you suddenly feel something other than agitation towards Seokjin?

“W-what did you say?”

“You heard me, Kim Seokjin. Whoever wins our 1v1 match earns the right to call ___ his girlfriend.”

“Hold on. You can’t just call dibs on ___!” shouts Jungkook in complete and utter shock.

Instantly slapping yourself back, in reality, you snatch a basketball from an innocent player and roughly throw it at Seungcheol, anger visible all over your face.

Sadly for you, the annoying prick catches it with ease, smirking at you.

“What’s the matter, babe? You don’t believe that I can put Seokjin in his place?” He coos, further taunting Seokjin. What sets the handsome prodigy over the edge is when Seungcheol abruptly pulls you against his chest, dropping the basketball in the process. His cheek brushes against yours, making you want to gag.

Just as you’re about to violently elbow him in the stomach, Seokjin shoves Seungcheol away before forcefully throwing the discarded ball at him.

“You start.”

“This should be fun.”

But it was just the opposite...

It was a complete slaughter with Seokjin on his hands and knees, panting and sweating profusely. His eyes widened from the shock of his defeat.

Not only has he lost horribly against Seungcheol, but he also lost you—or so he believes.

“So, how about that date, baby girl? After all, you’re now my girlfriend.” Seungcheol asks, making sure that Seokjin can hear him.

“Yeah, I don’t date dudes who have a thing for other fellas’ sloppy seconds.” You bluntly state, turning towards Yoongi and Jungkook, “I mean, first it was Yerin, right? The one that was going around the entire fucking school saying that she was Seokjin’s girlfriend. Oh, I feel sorry for her since it was just last week, you were chasing after her, and now you’re after me.” You say, clicking your tongue in fake disappointment.

Seungcheol’s arrogant smile vanishes and is now replaced with a scowl.

“Let me ask you this, why are you obsessed with Seokjin’s sloppy seconds? Like there are a million girls in this damn school who, oddly enough, would love to be your arm candy. Yet you go after the ones that either show interest in Seokjin or who Seokjin’s interested in. Like, dude. Stop. It’s honestly creepy to the point that I firmly believe you have a weird obsession with him.” You finish as you walk over to Seokjin, offering him a helping hand.

Seokjin faintly smiles, grabbing your hand, as he pulls himself up. Soon, his smile becomes bright. His sweet smile almost blinds you—and makes your heart skip a beat.

“I knew you had a soft spot for me, ___.”

“Don’t push it, Jinnie boy.”

Softly shaking your head, you playfully shove Seokjin, snapping him out of his thoughts. You then jump down from the stage, having popped yourself up there moments earlier.

“Well, all I have to say is that Seungcheol better watch out. He hasn’t seen your ‘Perfect Copy’ in action yet.” You warmly smile as you make your way towards the exit but soon halt. You glance over your shoulder, maintaining that sweet smile, and say,

“Besides, he’s no match for you with your girlfriend cheering you on from the bench.”

“Right…” He mumbles, totally ignoring your words. Then, it hits him as if someone doused him with cold water.

“Wait! Did you just call yourself my girlfriend?!!” Seokjin hollers, chasing after you.

“I don’t know. Win tomorrow’s match, and I’ll let you know.”

“Oh, that’s cruel, princess…”

oi, did Utsumi do a bridal carry as a preview for ep12.. the ep12. RH bridal carry for a RH like ep 12 ending? *fingers crossed*. Haha hope dies last, okay, here we go.

- Adam being like “me... fall?!” brought me back to Akashi Seijuuro’s “me...lose?!” and it suddenly got me thinking... I wasn’t in KNB fandom when it aired, but did ppl someone think of Akashi as a villain back then, just curious, pls write me xD;

- Dumbass audience cheering on Adam when he did his beatings, but seconds later abandoning and laughing at him the moment he fell was a classic seriously. Oh, the herd feeling, love it each time. Cherry laughing tho was so nice, but he was still in his Adam bubble, not even noticing Joe, who only notices him lmao;

- Now, on one hand, I’m happy for Reki, since I prayed for him not to be a support and did say that he can easily give anyone a run for their money if he’ll just use his board making skills (I jokingly said turbo acceleration, but predicting rain also works, I guess, I mean, idk my iphone is always lying to me about the weather but ok lolz). On the other hand, I still don’t get the point of his character and the 4-episodes-stretched drama with such unsatisfying.. ehmm.. unraveling.

I’m not even gonna mention that he still didn’t talk to Langa and Miya, but that’s not gonna happen already I think. But let’s just do a quick recap. Having fun skating was his thing from the beginning and he didn’t care to be the best or that he can’t skate like the talented ppl can, he was running aroung teaching Lanaga and telling him that fun is the best part of it, then Langa outbested him and he couldn’t do things Langa does, so he had an emotional break down about not being as talented and wanted to be like them, but couldn’t. Then he came to a conclusion that it doesn’t matter if he’s average, since all that matters is that he’s having fun doing it, going back to the very beginning, and suddenly he’s in fact not average and he can do things Langa does. That, that is... I mean.. I’m in confusion. This whole drama was for nothing, ended with nothing and all along the most unsatisfying big plotline I’ve witnessed in sports animes, I can’t believe they dragged it for 1/4 part of a season.

- Tadashi giving Adam up to Langa, thinking that that’s gonna make him happier is such a period drama, I can’t even. They give off so much “Emma” and “Pride and Prejudice” type of “I’m blind to see where my happiness lies” vibes that I’m literally dying already.

I mean do not tell me it’s not a period romance. Cause one thinks that his social status can’t allow him to be happy with him and gives up on them so he won’t ruin the other’s social image, the other one is mad about it and trying to force him to speak up for himself, humiliating him in a desperate attempt for him to finally break and say “enough”. One mistakenly thinks that his second half is elsewhere, why the other one is stupidly ready to give him up, if it’s gonna make him truly happy, thinking he’s not the right match for him, not knowing that he’s in fact his true happiness. So they’re both blind and hurting each other and it’s just... delicious, finally some good fucking food.

the ending bit made me die a little bit, so now I can’t help but get my hopes back up again. If what I see what I think I see and if episode 12 is gonna be what I think it’s gonna be, I might just get invested. Please, don’t let me down, they might just hit all the right spots. Cause I already know a perfect song for them. Bc I honestly do not care for any other ships there.

I mean, I saw already ppl on twitter calling them a dark version of rinharu lmao. If so, they must be that emotional explosion of ep12 that my heart was waiting for.

And don’t think I didn’t notice all the scenes again this episode lmao.

And how after they fell apart they both lost fun in skating and one got angry (not to this extent, but still). How one dropped skating bc he thinks he hurt him, but no one else around know what truly happened. And the fact that Adam is now angry and saying that he’s all alone and then... he will bring him back.. right right? cause it was all a misunderstanding in the first place and he in fact just wanted to be with him all along, pls do this, pls.

Now if I'm gonna get an epic “love saved him” ep12 scene, once Adam realizes that Langa is not his Eve, then I’ll might just have the ship in this anime I’ll be invested in.

Anyways, if Adam is not gonna be brought back by his true love the same way Akashi and Rin was, then I don’t want it.

Do the Rin’s “he finishes the race, but it sucks and he’s still not happy”, so he gets even more angry, cause even Eve didn’t help, breaks the board or smth, and yells at Tadashi “are you happy now? I’m still sad and lonely.” and how he hates that he made him love skating so much in the first place, but then just left him and then Tadashi will yell how he just wanted him to be happy “was I doing it all wrong?” and then the truth will come up.

Like no matter what others say I still think Ainosuke knows already that the anger and madness and sadness won’t go away even after he’ll skate with his fake eve, deep down he must know it already and he knows whose “betrayal” hurt him in the first place, so like do u think he’ll fail during the race, cause he is hella vulnerable now to even enjoy it. Or will go through with it and be like “why am I still heartbroken?” and then it’ll hit him?

I know the theory of him realizing it after Tadashi is going to be send to jail by taking a fall for him, but I don’t want it really, pls don’t send anyone to jail. I want a happy ending. Pls hang everything on one of the aunts, this is the only way to exit this soap opera in a right way. Then Tadashi will accompany Adam to visit everyone to say “sorry, I hit u with a board”, but he will give everyone daisies instead of roses lmao

P.S. The fact that Adam doesn’t know how to accept hugs and any physical affection.. that’s one of my fav tropes in pairings. There’s almost always one in my otps who is like “hugs are gross” until that right one comes or/and been taught that love is pain/weakness/etc. So please, Tadashi, I’m waiting. You know your pairing is my last hope for a new otp from this anime.

I have waist length brown hair and mismatched brown and hazel eyes.

Personality wise, I'm really quiet and reserved around people I don't know. I'm also one of those people who people think they're the smartest person ever because they're quiet and seen most of the time with their nose buried in a book, yep. Sadly, that's me.

I love volleyball, basketball and dancing and I'm considered good at them, but I don't play competitively because my parents don't really approve and think its a waste of time.

While I'm probably the champion in the silent game at school and people often confuse me for a mute, I love hanging out with my friends, where I joke around and do stupid stuff with like parkouring in a kids playground or seeing who can last longer doing a handstand

I'm really protective of my friends and they are who I consider my family.

Because of my actual family, ive grown to have trust issues and tend to avoid talking much and my friends have gone through a lot to get my trust

If I ever have a boyfriend, I think I'd like them to be as much of a challenge to get through as I am. I'd like them to tease me and challenge me, but know his limits. I think they should also make me feel included if they have friends because, as ive mentioned before, I do not like social situations. I love to read and discuss my favorite books, so debating skills are a must. Plus, I am kinda Athletic, so having a workout partner would be nice, but not someone who freaks out so much over health because I have a major sweet tooth and will not be stopped from getting sweets, especially on my period

peter is very outspoken and doesn’t care what ppl think and he is gonna have fun and live his life. he sees u, nose stuck in a book, not saying a word he is shocked and almost worried. he works w a crew that never stops talking so he wanted to make sure u were comfortable. when he gets to know ur fam situation he is very sorry and knows how personal life can make ppl have anxieties and fears. he understands and is for u all the time. ur not a friend to the crew ur family. everybody loves u. he makes sure of it. he loves however how protective and loving u r to the others it makes u fit right in. he is kinda hot and bothered seeing u kick butt in working out cuz he is like the guy that has had a bit too many sandwiches but who cares cuz we stan him here. but on ur period he will def be that guy that it doesn’t matter what time or even if he is fighting some sketchy guys he will go get u ur fav dessert or whatever ur craving. he cares so much about u cuz he understands not being able to trust but he trusts u wholeheartedly.

hii,, hope you two are doing well uwu. ok so far, ive only been requesting stuff n i figured might as well just ask for a matchup too lol,,,for knb, haikyuu, free, and fire force (i know ur rules said only 3 so it can be any three from those 4 lol)

my name’s lily and uh basic stuff..i’m a female high school student around 156cm maybe 157 on a good day;3 im bi but with more of a preference for guys (who are tall, like as long as ur a tall guy/girl whatever, i will prolly automatically start simping akdhfj)

i have long black hair that’s usually straight but on a slightly wavy side. my skin’s like a light-ish brown and my eyes are chocolate brown,, or so i’m told. i’m on the more busty side and would say i’m fairly curvy(?) but my grandma keeps saying i’m skinny and need to eat more:))speaking of eating, its like absolutely one of my favorite things ever lolol (so yeah kinda contradictory lol)

One word, chaotic. But in a good way! See you and Kageyama would like two puzzle pieces, and the reason being is because he is emotionally stupid, that you can definitely help him with that! Anyways, you and Kageyama will have a blast with each other; he will be the type of person where your mental battery doesn’t get drained because he is just a quiet as you can be and just as soft. The cuddles would be endless and amazing because of this.

He will like how confident you are, from confessing to someone to being confident in competitions and such. And if he were to see you that you are panicking, he will do his best to calm you down. Key phrase here is do his best. He might not be that good at it, but you love the spirit. 4. what are you looking forward to?

I'm looking forward to school starting again, even if it's just a weird hybrid of online/flipped classes, I miss my teachers and like, being productive. also if I'm in class I can't be worked borderline inhumane hours right…. right??

5. is there anyone who can always make you smile?

yeah, my roommate. she always either knows how to cheer me up, or blunders around trying to find the right method to the point that it's funny and I end up smiling anyway. she's really awesome like that.

7. what was your life like last year?

it had a lot of ups and downs. I had a great job, but the people I worked with eventually made it toxic and awful. I was doing really well in school, but stressed all the time, had an awesome relationship but kind of ruined it w my anxiety, and had serious roommate issues that made me afraid to leave my bedroom or even come home, sometimes. I remember a lot of very high highs and very low lows especially in the fall/winter of that year.

10. are you good at hiding your feelings?

well, yes and no… I don't tend to show a lot of emotion to begin with, but what I do show, I'm basically incapable of hiding, and apparently I'm a terrible liar bc my face gives me away.

I'm pretty alright… kind of anxious, kind of tired, but that's just been the status quo lately tbh.

I'm simultaneously like, the most confident and the most self-doubting person I know... like there are certain things I'm super certain of and times when I feel no shame, and there are others where I'll just shrivel into a ball of anxiety and mortification and never come out. in the same vein, I'm simultaneously very trusting and open and very wary and cautious with people… it really depends on the situation and the person I think, I'm a very "you get out what you put in" person.

16. have you ever wanted to tell someone something but you didn't?

yeah, I’m still holding onto things I’ve wanted to tell certain people tbh… I used to be a lot more forthcoming and not worry about the consequences of what I had to say, but now that I’ve seen what power words have to ruin relationships and impact people I tend to hold back quite a bit.

I have… many, but I understand that I shouldn't and am working on the ones I do have. I think feeling insecure can lead to some of the most ugly, toxic emotions and responses in certain people, so I'm trying to be conscientious of that.

1. lately I've been carrying a fanny pack with the trans flag (there's an unfortunate but very tempting pun in there) and it's still got the security tag bc they forgot to take it off in the store so now every time I walk through the doorway to like, a drug store, I set off the alarm. I would get it taken off but it was sent to me from Chicago lol.

2. I've got a lot of outdoorsy skills bc of my gym class in high school, like rock climbing, kayaking, building fire, etc. I'm not super adventurous in my daily life but while I was in that class, I did all kinds of things.

3. for awhile I worked at a cat cafe, and helped take care of the 12-15 rescue cats we'd have there at any given time. I stand by that it was the best job I've ever had, but the people I worked with, not so much.

I have a vague memory… of helping my mom in the garden of my old house when I was a little kid, mostly just digging in the dirt in the spring and being outside with my family… it's not very clear or specific but I think those days were some of the happiest of my life.

I'm stuck here just like the rest of y'all.

now this is a tough one… bc I really love them both a lot, and tbh in terms of quality of writing, art/animation, thematic music, character development and general story, I think Haikyuu!! has KNB beat, buuuuuut…. in spite of its flaws, I have such a soft spot for KNB and I keep coming back to it over and over again even as it falls into relative obscurity. It's the only thing I write for anymore and I'm still, somehow, utterly obsessed with the characters I first fell in love with over five years ago. KNB has problems, for sure, but the things it gets right (like setting a mood, strong emotional beats and character relationships) it knocks out of the park. I don't know if I could ever choose one over the other in terms of like, "you can only read/watch one of these and have to give up the other forever", but in terms of which has had the biggest impact, and still hits me the hardest, I'd probably have to go with KNB… but it's not by any means an easy choice.

Notes for The Road Before Us (MidoTaka)

So… Wow. I kind of can’t believe this is the last chapter. And I have to say, this one was a ride—or at least it was for me to write, anyway. //laughs Which seems appropriate, given the overall themes. And it also feels appropriate to be posting it on New Year’s Eve, given what the story ended up being about.

I knew this chapter would be the longest, once I realized some of the things I wanted to include in it. And that hopefully it would include pretty much everything I love the most about MidoTaka, and also about KnB in general. I don’t know how well I pulled that off, but I definitely got emotional writing it. <3

As a matter of fact, the first fic I ever wrote for KnB was a MidoTaka fic! (It’s here on my Tumblr, but I never even posted it to Ao3.) I haven’t written nearly as much about them as I have for some other pairings. Still, I kind of feel like I got my start in the fandom with MidoTaka, and I have a LOT of feelings about them, for all kinds of reasons. So I really, really loved getting to write a chapter about these two, being super amazing partners and also really super in love, and hopefully it shows. <3

I do have some of my usual notes this time around, mostly a few cultural things. (And also some random flailing, about FINALLY getting to write about certain things I’ve had swirling around in my head for a long time. XD) I might write a different post later about this fic overall, and how it turned into something I honestly wasn’t expecting… But for now, let’s get on with the MidoTaka goodness!

(Cut for rambling about things like family headcanons, a few Japanese winter foods, lucky pencils, Takao’s nerdy card hobby, and the symbolism of five yen coins…)

Family Headcanons

This isn’t really a proper note, just some goofy flailing because I FINALLY GOT TO WRITE ABOUT MIDORIMA AND TAKAO’S FAMILIES, HURRAY. I’m also so unbelievably happy that there was a cameo with Midorima’s little sister! I love her so much, especially that she likes nail art. (I have a pointless headcanon that Midorima borrows nail files from her. xD) I’m also overjoyed that I FINALLY got to mention that I headcanon Midorima’s mother as being a surgeon, and his father as a scientist. Because super-successful overachieving green family, that’s why? //laughs

(In case it wasn’t obvious already, I am way, WAY too into family headcanons… There’s probably nothing I love more than coming up with what a character’s family might be like, and how they fit into their family dynamic. To the point that I have a TON of ideas about all of the GoM’s families, some of which I hinted at throughout this story… Because apparently I can’t help myself anymore. XD)

The Rear Car

This is also not a proper note in any way, but… I’m just so happy that the rear car is in this! XDD I hinted at a few personal headcanons about it in the chapter, including that they don’t use it regularly by their third year in high school. But it just seemed like it couldn’t be a MidoTaka fic without it, so I’m overjoyed that I was able to come up with a way to work it into a holiday fic…

… And because I’m a nerd, I love it even more because it just fits the “Sleigh Ride” theme SO PERFECTLY. XD It’s been a while, but I think that was even how I decided on the carol for the fic in the first place? Like, “OMG maybe Takao could decorate the rear car and they could ride around in it and it would be sort of like the song and that way the last chapter actually fits the most and IT’S PERFECT?!” Ah, the things I get excited about as a nerdy writer. //laughs

Hot Water Bottle Covers

… I’m not really sure if I should even make this a note, honestly. XD But I happened to get the idea for the cutesy hot water bottle covers that look like animals while I was doing a search for the Japanese word for hot water bottle. Which is yutanpo (ゆたんぽ), if anyone was curious!

Oden and Oshiruko

And now about the meal… Oden is a type of stew that is super popular in Japan in the wintertime, so it’s one of the foods that tends to be culturally associated with the season. There are a lot of different ingredients that can be in it, some of which can be pretty unfamiliar to people who aren’t from Japan. You can learn more about some of them in articles like this one. And yes, you can totally buy oden in a convenience store! (Which are everywhere in Japan and called ‘konbini’ for short.)

As for shiruko (or more formally, oshiruko!), this is the Japanese version of red bean soup. It’s prepared a few different ways, and the recipe varies by region. KnB fans will probably know it best as what Midorima is always drinking out of a can. XD So no surprise that it popped up in this chapter, really!

Yushima Tenmagu

This is just a quick mention about the lucky pencils Midorima gives Takao… As Midorima said, these came from a shrine called Yushima Tenmagu, which is pretty famous as a place for Japanese students to buy good luck charms to pass their exams. (Also if I remember correctly, Midorima has this running gag throughout some of the series extras about trying to figure out how to get better scores on his exams, and even about a lucky pencil? So it just seemed to fit. //laughs)

Magic the Gathering, Apparently

… Okay so first of all, I know literally nothing about Magic the Gathering. So if you happen to be an MtG fan and I screwed something up, I’m very sorry. //laughs

In any case, it’s a longtime headcanon of mine that Takao plays MtG. Since of course it’s one of the most famous trading card games in the world, and it’s still popular in Japan and played in the gaming communities there. And as Takao fans out there will know, his canon hobby is collecting trading cards, which he specifically shops for at a pretty famous Tokyo shopping center called Nakano Broadway. (All of which got a mention in this chapter!)

Also, if you’re wondering how long I’ve had the MtG headcanon specifically… Well, here’s a quote from my fic The Fast Train to Kyoto, where Akashi and Furihata run into Takao while shopping at Nakano Broadway:

“Why do you like to come here, if I may ask?” Akashi said.

“Oh, right. You guys gotta see this.” Takao started to rummage through one of his shopping bags. “I’m a loser for trading cards. Magic, mostly—play a lot of Magic.”

… Because the point guards in KnB are all huge nerds in my mind, and I WILL STAND BY THAT THEORY FOREVER. XD

(And no, I honestly had no idea that I would ever reuse that particular headcanon, especially in a holiday story? But it’s me, and I can’t seem to stop connecting all these totally unnecessary details, even in my fluff fanfics, so… I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. //laughs)

The Symbolism of Five Yen Coins

Okay, I have to admit really love this one, because of course I just sort of stumbled onto the idea by “accident.” //laughs So a few weeks back, I was trying to figure out what lucky item would work for Takao’s gift in the story. The real-life Oha-Asa has listed coins as a lucky item for multiple astrological signs over the years, so I was playing around with that idea… And that was when I learned about the symbolism of the five yen piece in Japanese currency. At which point I completely geeked out, and decided on the spot that I just HAD to use it.

So a five yen coin is pronounced “go-en” in Japanese. Which also sounds like another word that basically means a bond or connection, and has connotations of fate as well. For this reason, there are a lot of superstitions around five yen coins—it’s often used at shrines to pray, for example—and it’s basically connected to the idea of meeting people and making connections in a fortunate or “destined” way. Which just seems so fitting for Midorima and Takao, and how they met and later became partners! And also how I see all the relationships in KnB in general. <3

For an explanation from a Japanese person about some of the symbolism behind the five yen piece, I really recommend this article here! And Wikipedia also mentions some ways that the five yen piece is used culturally.

Well, that’s it for now! I might end up editing this a bit at some point, since I’m writing it in a hurry to post it on New Year’s. But I really wanted to get the final chapter up as soon as I could, so people could read the completed fic if they wanted.

Well, thank you all so much for indulging me in my holiday fic mood this year! Happy New Year, and I hope you all have an amazing 2020 ahead. I know I definitely have a lot of goals and things I’m thinking about and hoping for, and I might talk more about that soon. (As well as try to catch up on some messages and other to-do’s I’ve been horribly neglecting.) But for now, it just feels right to finally be able to complete this story, which ended up meaning way, way more to me than I ever expected it to. (Like KnB and these precious rainbow basketball kids in general, really. <3)

KnB Stageplay Ultimate Blaze Report (5/5, 5/11, 5/19 Livestream)

Okay I know I said I’d do my report after my second viewing on the 11th but then the finale was on the 19th so I thought I’d wait til then so it’d be easier to remember everything. A 3.5 hour play is super long....

So I watched the play live on the 5th and 11th, and the finale on livestream on the 19th. This is the very last Kurosute ever...Thank you Kurosute for 4 years of wonderful casting and performances. I also want to thank Ono Kensho for once again doing an outstanding job of his role as Kuroko.

FYI, for those who also watched the livestream or plan to purchase the delayed stream, sharing pictures/screenshots or clips in public is prohibited. As such, I will not have any pictures included in this report. Please support the franchise by purchasing the DVD or Blu-Ray.

Major spoilers ahead. Proceed if you only wish to be spoiled. Again, this was a 3.5 hour play so this is VERY, VERY, long.

EDIT: This took me two days to type out ORZ

Before the play starts, Tsuchida’s actor has a voice over on the intercom about stageplay rules and manners. Turn off/mute your phone, no recording, etc. It’s nice that they had him still do his rules even though he wasn’t in the play. ;w;

The play opens up with the Yosen and Seirin scoreboard and Haizaki walking in the audience

Haizaki goes up to a random girl in the audience and flirts with her asking for her phone number.

On the show on the 5th the girl just tried to ignore him lmao

Kagami walks on stage and sees him and calls him out. Haizaki then confronts him saying he beat Mukkun and taunts him until a ball is thrown from the side at him. Kise comes on stage and the whole Haizaki and Kise bickering proceeds.

Haizaki gets REALLY close to Kise like literally breathing down the neck kind of close. How Mario didn’t flinch is beyond me.

Kagami learns that Kise has never beaten Haizaki, and eventually Haizaki leaves. Kise tells Kagami to leave Haizaki up to him.

Kise leaves and Kuroko comes on, using misdirection on Kagami. Kagami asks Kuroko who Haizaki is and that he’s met him. Kuroko explains he’s a former teammate but that he was still a regular so regardless he’s a strong player. Hyuuga and Seirin come telling them off and says they’re going to watch the first quarterfinal match of Kaijou vs Fukuda Sougo.

The opening song for this play’s dance is “Memories.” Personally this is my favorite one so far. I think I have the team order for this correctly...

Opens up with Seirin then switches to Kaijou proceeded by Shuutoku. Then there’s a Kaijou Shuutoku and Haizaki segment.

I just want to say how good Haizaki’s actor is and how his moves were so appropriate as Haizaki....wow

Seirin comes back on for a bit then exits with Aomine and Momoi taking over.

Oh, for the 5th I had Airi (new Momoi) and 11th and 19th were Arisa (original Momoi)

Mukkun does his own dancing segment between Aomine and Momoi

for the 19th finale he danced with a lollipop in his mouth. Isnt’ that dangerous? Lol

Akashi comes out with his jacket on his shoulders to the front of the stage, Then quickly takes it off and runs back. Rakuzan then dances in the front (without Akashi) and Seirin joins back on.

For the instrumental intermission, Kuroko goes to the center and each of the GoM come out and then surround him and do a short dance ending with a dance motion of their signature move/pose.

GoM exit and Kuroko watches Akashi run off (who went directly back) with a pained face, and Ogiwara runs out all smiley (seriously protect this boy he’s so pure) . Ogiwara runs off to the side and Kuroko chases after him. As Kuroko still looks pained, Kagami comes out on the other side and the two walk towards the center and meet in a fist bump.

The last chorus everyone (except Ogiwara) comes out. (Yes, including Mayuzumi). The song ends with each team forming a group pose (Except Rakuzan, Mayuzumi runs off before they form a pose)

All the other teams run off leaving Seirin left, and the senpais then exit leaving only Kuroko and Kagami to do one last running motion as the display title falls on the back. The two of them fist bump again as the title falls.

The play resumes with the match against Kaijou and Fukuda already starting. There are two other members on Fukuda besides Haizaki (apparently they are Ogiwara and Mayuzumi’s actors in black wigs hahahaha)

As always, the match more or less follows the manga/anime so I’ll leave out most of the story details. Most of it is gameplay anyway.

In this play, they’ve really incorporated more ball handling, aka using the real ball.

Seirin is watching in the back. At some point Aomine and Momoi join in to watch. (I can’t remember if Mukkun joins in to watch here or later...I’m almost certain he joins later)

After the match with Kaijou’s victory, Kise limps off with his injured leg. Then Haizaki walks back on stage, looking for Kise. Aomine sees him and tells him Kise hasn’t come out yet from the stadium. The two have their argument and Haizaki tries to punch Aomine but Aomine beats him too it. Aomine always says some sort of variation of “Oops..I did it....Eh, he’ll be fine”

Scene changes to Kagami calling someone, which is revealed to be Kuroko, saying his shoes broke. Kuroko replies how his feet are unnecessarily big (Kagami: OI!!). Kuroko says he’ll have to call ‘that person.’

‘That person’ is revealed to be Momoi as she runs up and gives Kuroko a tight hug. She tells Kagami that Aomine will give him one of his many shoes and that Kagami’s the type that wears by model rather than care for color.

As Aomine and Kagami are playing basketball in the back (Aomine lecturing him) , Momoi tells Kuroko about Aomine punching Haizaki.

Aomine finishes the quick game and convinces Kagami to accept the shoes.

The scene ends with Kagami and Aomine stupidly arguing and Momoi and Kuroko are literally dragging them off the stage.

For the May 5th show, they just literally drag them off

For the May 11th and 19th, Kuroko jabs Kagami in the stomach and pushes him off as Momoi pulls Aomine off.

Midorima walks on stage prepared for the semifinals.

His lucky item is a giant shogi piece

The rest of Shuutoku join him and the senpai question why the shogi piece is so big. Miyaji asks Midorima what rank is Cancer that day and he says 2nd and he gets mad. Takao says Midorima is never wrong with Oha Asa but Miyaji asks for a pineapple from Kimura (off stage) anyway.

Shuutoku is introduced as the first team of the semifinals with Rakuzan following (except Mayuzumi).

Seirin is in the back again and Hyuuga explains how the other Uncrowned Kings are in Rakuzan with Akashi.

The Shuutoku supporters are ‘jacket mob’ actors which are Haizaki and Kaijou

Haizaki’s actor kept dancing around with Mario.....

Ogiwara’s actor is the referee for this match.

For the May 11th show, there were a lot of ball handling errors here.

Otsubo was supposed to pass a ball to Midorima but Nebuya accidentally caught it instead, so he quickly passed it back to Otsubo who passed it to Midorima again.

Midorima ‘shot’ the ball but the ball bounced against a railing and into the audience. It was during the part where he and Takao do the miracle shot. In the script, the senpais pat and hug Midorima and Takao for pulling off the play anyway but for this show they gave Midorima extra hugs and paps for the mistake. How sweet.

One of Reo’s shots also bounced against a railing but it was towards the back so the ball just rolled behind the front fence

Akashi uses a real ball for his Ankle Break. He dribbles the ball around his legs and finishes with the ball going between his legs and catches it. I’ve never seen him mess up nor seen any reports of him doing so.

Mukkun joins Aomine and Momoi in watching the match.

During Hayama’s speed dribble, everyone who is watching ‘shakes’ to the vibration. I don’t know whose idea it was but Mukkun excessively shakes to the point he looks like he’s being electrocuted or something haha. Oh yeah, he’s eating Pocky in this match, real Pocky.

Mayuzumi was out most of the match but occasionally you see him run past between the main fence as he ‘passes’ the ball to Akashi.

When Shuutoku loses, Takao and Midorima are crying real tears. For the finale, everyone was crying...

The scene immediately changes to playing Punky Funky Love and Kaijo senpais practicing. Talk about a mood change. I was still crying over Midorima crying....

It’s a flashback of when Kise joins Kaijou and Kasamatsu explaining how the senpai have worked longer than him.

Just as Kise leaves, Kuroko and Kagami join the stage and they make eye contact with each other.

Of course as usual, before a break there is the Kagami vs Kuroko janken game. Usually involving Kuroko asking for a longer break and him mostly losing. For this break, it was 10 minutes.

May 5th janken- Kuroko tells Kagami that ten minutes is fine, much to Kagami’s surprise. Instead, Kuroko wagers that if he wins, Kagami must treat him to this fancy eel later. Kuroko wins and Onoken posts on Twitter that Yuya did indeed buy him the eel lmao

May 11th janken-Kuroko again tells Kagami that a ten minute break is fine. This time if he wins, he’ll switch to speaking ‘tameguchi’ which is using the casual form of Japanese (like basically everyone else, aka not using ‘desu/masu’). He actually switches to ‘tameguchi’ as he’s talking to Kagami, and Kagami’s trying his best not to laugh. At some point he says it’s annoying haha. Kagami wins so Kuroko’s like ‘well I guess I’m not speaking in ‘tameguchi’

May 19th- it’s their last time to do janken so Kuroko suggests that this time they just play janken for the heck of it. Kagami’s surprised but goes with it. Kuroko wins to his delight, but Kagami being stubborn begs for one more chance. Kuroko allows it, and they have one more match. Kagami wins and Kuroko kneels in defeat.

Other adlibs I’ve heard were Kuroko asking Kagami to buy him boba tea, and the usual longer breaks like 3 hours.

The second chapter opens with one of the ‘jacket mob people’ making sure the audience’s phones are off. The rest of the jacket mobs come out holding various items, such as a camera, cheering horns, towels, and one member has a corndog.......

These are the Shuutoku+Haizaki and Rakuzan actors.

Akashi was the smallest one with the camera on the Rakuzan side. Also he just had Yohchans body structure anyway I mean-no

The corndog guy was on the Shuutoku+Haizaki side, I’m not sure which it was since it was harder to tell who was who (except Takao)

Seirin and Kaijou are introduced and the second semifinal match begins

May 11-Another mistake in this match. Kise jumps to knock a ball out of someone’s hand from Seirin, but the ball hits a railing and bounces back onto the court so Hayakawa quickly picks it up and throws it off stage

May 11- Kise shoots the ball but either doesn’t put enough power into it or shoots in the wrong curtain so the ball ended up going to Kiyoshi who was just coming out from the side.

The jacket mob members act as the ‘fans’ in the stands. Both support Kaijou at first then Rakuzan cheers for Seirin and Shuutoku+Haizaki for Kise.

For Kagami’s line “This is our drama!” Hyuuga and Kuroko had the most outstanding ‘wtf’ faces

When Kagami said it, he puts his hand and fists together. So Izuki repeats him and continuously punches his hand like a bodybuilder.

Hyuuga taunts Kiyoshi with the “Iron Heart” nickname. For the finale he gets everyone in the audience to chant “Iron Heart” with him and Kiyoshi gets mad, “EVEN IF ITS YOU OR THE AUDIENCE I’LL GET MAD AT YOU GUYS!”

When Kaijou loses, Kise cries real tears, every time when he says he wanted to win with everyone.

For the finale, the other members of Kaijou are seen crying too when they lose...

After Kaijou walks off stage with Kise crying, Seirin comment how they made it to the finals and look at the scoreboard which has now changed to Seirin vs Rakuzan.

Kagami walks on stage noticing his necklace is missing. He starts to look for it and Midorima walks on with his giant shogi piece with the necklace. After he gives it back to Kagami, Kuroko walks on with Takao following.

As Kuroko and Takao are talking, Kagami and Midorima are talking (whispering) to each other. Usually it’s about Kagami pointing out Midorima’s shogi piece and for the May 5th show he even tried to take it much to Midorima’s displeasure.

Midorima tells Takao they’re leaving before telling Kagami there’s two Akashi and tells him to ask Kuroko about it.

Here some really dark music plays and I wish they had a soundtrack for this play.....because wow I got chills

Kuroko tells Kagami that he’ll explain what Midorima meant by the ‘two Akashi’s’ by telling everyone about ‘our past’

At this moment, the instrumental for the Teiko ending song, Ambivalence, plays and Ogiwara runs out (Kagami exits and Kuroko moves so he’s behind Ogiwara who’s facing us). Ogiwara then says “Are you alone? I’m Ogiwara Shigehiro! Let’s play basketball together!” and the stage fades into darkness. This marks the end of chapter 2 and a 15 minute break before the last chapter of the play. During the break the instrumental for Ambivalence is still playing so we’re all just preparing ourselves for the feels.

*Note: The Teiko arc is briefly covered in the play, but the actual arc itself is covered in the Teiko Reading screening which was available to stream online and in select theaters before the play, including scenes with Nijimura and Coach Sanada. The Teiko Reading only goes up to right before the match between Teiko and Meiko. The play covers highlights of the Teiko arc and the Teiko vs Meiko match. For those who were unable to watch the Teiko Reading, it’ll be included in the Ultimate Blaze DVD/Blu-Ray.

The third chapter opens up with Ogiwara and Kuroko playing basketball together and Ogiwara confessing that he’ll be moving. The two promise to play against each other in junior high school.

Kuroko explains how by second year, he had moved up to the regulars and he and Ogiwara keep in contact with each other.

Each of the GoM come out in their Teiko practice shirts (and colorful shorts....)

Mukkun had red shorts and Kise had neon green.......

For every other GoM member, they had a dramatic DON! when they appeared. For Kise, he had a super *SPARKLE” effect as he did a double peace sign and smiled. Kuroko comes out last and his is his ‘misdirection’ sound effect that is often used in the play for him.

Oh yeah, Momoi is here too as she watches over them/Aomine.

The Teiko members do some practicing.

Akashi (who is receiving the passes from someone off stage) passes the ball to the rest of the members on stage.

The scene shows how Kuroko and Aomine work well together.

The scene changes and Kuroko narrates how Aomine has started missing practice. They discuss that maybe he had a valid reason and then the stage darkens to just Kuroko who confirms that the reason for Aomine’s absence was that he was ditching. He calls Ogiwara for advice, who said that Aomine is different from Haizaki in which he actually enjoys basketball and the problem is because he likes basketball. He tells Kuroko that since Aomine helped him, Kuroko needs to be there for Aomine.

Aomine comes on in his Teiko jersey, having regained his happiness with Momoi watching. However the other players give up and he in turn gives up playing his hardest. (there’s no players on the stage but you have the image based on the sound effects). Kuroko walks on smiling for a fistbump but Aomine walks away saying his “The only one who can beat me is me’ line.

Kuroko gets a call from Ogiwara later saying that he lost in the first round, and that their promise will have to wait til next year.

For the finale, Ogiwara was almost crying, or he was crying....save this boy please.

Kuroko and Momoi talk about Aomine, making no progress. And Momoi asks him if they’ll always be together, in which Kuroko is hesitant to answer.

Slowly, the other GOM members (minus Akashi) slowly realize their abilities.

Mukkun with his ability to block, Midorima with his ability to shoot.

Kuroko then finds Aomine by the river, and the whole “I don’t remember how to receive your passes” scene plays out.

Aomine’s face looks so pained here /cries.

Back at the gym, the rest of the GOM are wondering about Coach Sanada’s approval of Aomine ditching practice, and Mukkun wants to ditch too. Akashi tells him that’s not allowed and the Mukkun vs. Akashi match starts with Bokushi awakening.

Akashi’s acting was so good, the contrast between Ore and Boku. And the music for Bokushi’s appearance was spine-chilling....I want the soundtrack for this please....

They use a mix of actual ball-handling and using an ‘air’ ball. Even without the ball you can tell Akashi’s actor is really good at basketball.

Akashi declares as long as they win, no one needs to show up for practice, much to Midorima’s shock.

Kuroko returns and asks Akashi who he is, and Akashi responds, “Of course, I’m Akashi Seijuurou.”

Months pass and the GOM are unbeatable and getting bored in matches, so Kise suggests making it a competition of who can score the most, with even Akashi joining in.

Ogiwara happily tells Kuroko they made it to the finals, but Kuroko is unhappy with the current atmosphere of the club. He asks Akashi to let him start out in the semi-finals, which Akashi permits.

Ogiwara is impressed with how much Kuroko has improved.

Kuroko gets hit in the head by the other team and is taken to the nurse.

Ogiwara talks with Akashi about Kuroko, and asks Akashi if basketball is fun. Akashi responds he doesn’t understand such a question.

Kuroko asks to play but Akashi tells him no under doctor’s orders, and tells him Ogiwara’s message about playing each other agian someday. Kuroko asks Akashi to not hold back against Meiko.

Despite losing 111-109, Ogiwara is fighting back against Teiko, telling his teammates to score one basket and losing proudly.

Ogiwara shoots and misses, and Aomine complains how they gave him the chance and tells Mukkun to shoot it.

Ogiwara, on the ground, looks at them in confusion to why they would score on their own basket.

Kise happily announces how they reached their goal and that they’re all matching, and points to the scoreboard to reveal the score of 111-11.

Kuroko comes out to see a heartbroken Ogiwara, who looks at him before leaving the stage.

Kuroko talks how painful it is, and what is victory. Onoken’s acting here was emotional, as expected from already portraying Kuroko in the anime.

The GOM come out and line up behind Kuroko similar to the panel in the manga.

Kuroko announces his resignation.

Kuroko narrates how Ogiwara has transferred, and Ogiwara comes out on stage saying how the GOM had such cold eyes, but Kuroko can melt that coldness.

Kagami then comes out, and scolds Kuroko along with the rest of Seirin.

Hyuuga gets mad at both of them and sends Izuki and Koganei to drag Kuroko off and give him a tickle attack. Riko follows.

Kiyoshi and Hyuuga comment how it was a sad story and that Kuroko never talks about himself like that, so now they must win.

The next day is the Kaijou vs Shuutoku match for third place and the finals.

Mukkun meets up with Aomine and Momoi, who talk about who would win. They say third place is decided but the finals could be anyone.

Kise is on the bench due to his injury, and Shuutoku easily wins the third place match.

Midorima tells Kise their match is ‘postponed’ for now.

Kise gets annoyed saying, “WELL OF COURSE. IF I WAS IN THERE I’D WIN”

Kise and Midorima continue to bicker.

Kasamatsu and Otsubo just look at each other and let their kouhais fight it out.

Towards the second half of the runs, when Midorima points his finger at Kise, Kise actually bites his finger. No, I mean it. He actually bites it. Midorima gets grossed out by it.

Midorima: EW SO GROSS NANODAYO Kise: I’M NOT GROSS. I’M PRETTY.

^yes, those were actual lines.

Now it’s time for Seirin vs Rakuzan.

Haizaki’s actor is the referee.

For the tip-off, Nebuya gets upset that Kiyoshi isn’t the one jumping.

Seirin declares Mayuzumi not a threat since there’s little information on him, so Aomine asks Momoi about it. This is an adlib scene and varies per show.

May 5- Aomine asks Momoi to get ‘that’ (her notebook) from her bag. Instead she pulls out one of his gravure photobooks. She proceeds to put it back but Aomine hastily takes it away. Momoi asks Mukkun if it’s in his potato chip bag. He looks in it and pulls out..................a chip. Turns out the notebook was in her bag after all, much to Aomine’s annoyance.

May 11- Instead of her notebook, Momoi kept pulling out Mukkun’s empty potato chip bags. Aomine gets mad, but Mukkun only responds, “They were yummy~.” The notebook again was in her bag after all.

May 19- similar to the May 5 adlib.

When Hayama does his dribbling, Mukkun agains shakes vigorously on the side. This time, since he has chips, he sometimes dropped them on stage. So afterwards, you would see him picking them off the ground.

Both Reo and Mayu admit how loudly annoying Hayama is (they were running across stage too )

When Nebuya gets upset that Kiyoshi doesn’t remember what he told him 2 years ago, he literally throws a tantrum on the ground.

Everyone in both Rakuzan and Seirn:.............

When Akashi goes into the Zone, he actually dribbles around everyone with the ball across the stage. Talk about coordination!

Akashi’s shocked face as he’s starting to lose was perfect too. Sorry I have a lot of Akashi notes....

As he’s starting to lose, Akashi starts switching between Oreshi and Bokushi. Oreshi’s voice has like an echo/autotune effect but it’s not a recording or anything.

Thus, the monologue between Oreshi and Bokushi was amazing. The actor constantly switches between both sides very smoothly. Give this guy an Oscar please.

When Oreshi talks about his mother, a ball falls from the sky and he hugs the ball close to him as he mentions it’s what he has left of her.

You can actually visually see the difference between Oreshi and Bokushi in face expression.

As Seirin admits defeat, they’re all collapsed on the ground, even Riko, until Ogiwara comes out and cheers for them.

Aomine shouts out from the side of the stage. In the finale he was even crying.

Kaijou and Shuutoku go in the audience and cheer for Seirin from there.

For the May 11th show I had Kaijou right behind me. Literally -screams

Aomine was crying real tears when he says “So it was you all along, Tetsu...”

For the finale was sobbing more

For the final shot, the stage goes all dark as Kuroko says “I’m a shadow.” Then Kagami comes out from behind and makes the final dunk.

Lantana then begins to play as Kagami declares Seirin the winners of Winter Cup.

In the final performance, Akashi cried as he admits his loss and even when he shook hands with Kuroko.

After Kuroko shakes hands with Akashi, and says that they can play basketball at anytime, Seirin and Rakuzan make a quick bow and run off stage.

Final Scenes

The remaining GOM come out in their uniforms, each with a basketball, and happily dribbling around the stage.

Kise sees Haizaki walking out with his shoes, about to throw them away, but Haizaki hesitates and instead hugs them close to him. He sees Kise was watching him and Kise smiles knowing Haizaki didnt’ really hate basketball after all.

The different teams come out taking a stand in front of the stage and then having a fun match against each other.

Kaijou vs Shuutoku

Seirin vs Rakuzan

The players even go up against other players that we didn’t see during the matches. Everything was so emotional and happy.

The last scene ends with Kuroko and Kagami fistbumping each other and Kagami poses as he’s about to dunk and Kuroko kneels below him fistbumping towards us as all the other players are reaching out towards Kagami.

Curtain Calls

May 5th Aichi Finale - Akashi and Reo

Reo mentions how in high school he was the only one in his group who didn’t read KnB. And now he’s IN KnB.

May 11-Kiyoshi and Koganei

They got Hyuuga to go to the center and do a big “KUROSUTE FIGHT O” cheer with the cast and audience.

May 19th-Kuroko and Kagami

This one was really emotional as it was the final performance ever. Yuya starts crying over his talk over Kagami, and he even deeply bows to Onoken to thank him.

Onoken didn’t cry but he was on the verge of doing so, his voice was shaking.

I lost count of how many curtain calls there were for the finale, but there was a lot.

Highlights

Every show Rakuzan would high-five Akashi as they left the stage

For the finale Mayuzumi even hugged Akashi, and then for another curtain call afterwards all of Rakuzan group-hugged Akashi

Kuroko and Kagami asked if the director was around, apparently he wasn’t so they asked someone to say “Thank you” in his place instead. The cast chose Akashi to say it.

Momoi ran up to Aomine and Kise and walked off together.

On one of the last curtain calls, Aomine and Kise decided to have OnoKen thrown up in the air and got everyone to join in.

Every curtain call ends with Kagami and Kuroko fistbumping each other and leaving. For the very last curtain call, it was all of Seirin together.

Kiyoshi lifts Riko up in the air for a few seconds to celebrate.

And thus concludes my last Kurosute report....please consider buying the DVD or Blu-Ray when it comes out, you won’t regret it.

Once again, thank you for four years Kurosute. Thank you cast members for doing a wonderful job portraying our beloved characters. Thank you Fujimaki-sensei for creating such a beloved series.

Twitter fandom list I guess

So you guys are indeed curious about what i tweet about over on twitter, huh? Very well then! I shall share them with you all, for funsies mostly haha

Ikemen Sengoku

I’ll start with this one because it holds a very hetalia-esque concept to it (which is what drew me to it, admittedly)! It features characters that are based off of sengoku-era warlords that are drawn in a way that Himaruya would’ve done it if he were to implement this historical period into Hetalia (or perhaps make a spin-off of it?) the only difference being that it also features a central female character that interacts with them, thus lightly romanticizing this period in the process. Thought the historical aspect overlaps the romance anyway, so it’s no problem really. It has been (very recently) given a manga adaptation (in which the main character is also given a name, in spite of being nameless (only being referred to as ‘Princess’ or ‘Lady’) in all other forms of media it has taken) a stage play (you can find clips of it) and a short anime that is surprisingly not as serious as you might think, therefore very much like Hetalia in a sense haha

The warlords seem to match their real-life counterparts they were based on very well after doing research myself, so I believe that’s a plus to everything else I mentioned!

Uta No Prince-sama

This one’s famous for its anime, but it was a game previously! I came to love it thanks to one of my best friends (who isn’t in the aph fandom) who introduced me to it. I absolutely adore the songs, they’re catchy and fun, and the voice cast is absolutely excellent as well, most if not all are very popular seiyuu. I tweet mostly about this because playing the mobile game really got me hooked after I watched the anime, (which may be sappy, but I still love it anyway) <3

Kingdom Hearts

Ah, Kingdom Hearts. My very first fandom I ever got in! Feels rather refreshing to return to it after being away from it (while I was deep into aph) for so long! With only 16 days left until the release of KH3, I tweet about my excitement for it and what love I harbored for it, through its highs and lows. I can still feel that it holds its place in my heart, because of the nostalgic ideals it gives off to so many people!

There is also to some extent Final Fantasy, but not so much, since I didn’t play through F//F//X//V all the way through yet.

Kuroko No Basuke

Where the fuck do I begin with this one...

So around two(?) years ago, I kinda tried to get into sports anime. Yeah, it was somehow hard for me to actually get interested as someone who isn’t actually allowed to play any kind of sport due to health reasons but ANYWAY ENOUGH PERSONAL BULLSHITTERY

It isn’t entirely my fault for getting into KNB, because at first I wanted to get into Haikyuu, but when a Japanese student who came to my uni enlightened me on the fact that this series shares a damn cast with Uta no Prince-sama I was literally like “Damn, I guess I’m in” and I was instantly onto watching the anime and FUCK I was not disappointed at all -- the characters and plot ended up mattering more to me than the sport it’s meaning to portray, like damn.

Currently keeping up with the manga too, so that’s fun haha

"BAAAABE DID YOU SEE ME ON THE COOOUUURRRTTTT?!?!?!!!!! I WAS SO GOOOOOD I BEAT EVERYONE SO GOOD!!!!!!!"

That voice. That ear-piercing screech...Kise. Of course after he won a game, he just had to show off especially to you.

"Yes I did Kise," you smiled gently at him. "You really kicked butt out there!"

"Pffft of course I did!" he winked, grabbing your hand with his. "I am the best after all!"

Pretty soon, a blush formed on your cheeks. Even though he was your boyfriend, moments like these always seemed to fluster you. I mean he is Kise...a model...basketball player...and a hot guy. In fact, you realized how interesting your relationship was. He was super popular with girls and you were not popular at all actually. You were actually surprised he noticed you, after continuously dropping hints. As airheaded as he seems...he did catch on and it turned into something beautiful.

"Baaaabe!!! Hellllooo?!?! Are you okay?! Do you have a fever?! Your face is red! OH MY GOSH YOU MUST BE SICK! WE NEED A DOCTOR!" he panicked, jumping up and down frantically.

"MY HONEY NEEDS CARE! HELP! HELP!"

"KISE! Calm down I'm fine!" you reassured, covering his mouth with your hand. "I just thought of something that's all."

"Was it meeeee?" he sang while dancing around you. "I bet it was because you don't blush like this except when your with me!"

"S-shut up!" you covered your face. "Your too much."

"Awww but I'm a good 'too much'!" he pouted. "That's why you love me don't you?"

"I love your everything Kise," you blushed. "You mean the world to me."

"AWWWW!!! WAAAAHHHH!!!! MY BEAUTIFUL, PRECIOUS QUEEN, BABY, HONEY, BABE, BAE, WORLD, AND EVERYTHING LOVES ME!!!!! SEE THAT GUYS EVERYWHERE?! I CALL DIBS AND I'LL KICK ANYONE'S ASS WHO DARES TO TAKE HER FROM ME!!!!" he shouted aloud, waving his arms around dramatically.

'Why is he like this,' you sweat dropped at your boyfriend's actions. You still loved him anyway.

"Ah that's right baby," you smiled, gripping his hand tighter. "I love you so much."

"I love you too!" he grinned, kissing the tip of your nose.

The streets were dark, but luckily the street lights provided enough light for you two to see. There were other people around, mostly in the shops.

"WAAAHHH! WHAT'S THAT?!" he yelled. "SO PRETTY!!!!"

"What is it?" you asked, curious about what he was talking about.

"Wait right here!" he said as he sat you down on a bench. "It's a surprise so I'll be RIGHT back!"

Before you could protest, he was already in the store.

"What's he getting?" you asked aloud.

"Not enough of you I see," a deep voice chuckled.

You looked around, frightened by the sudden words. It was dark so the outline of three men were present.

"Hey she's pretty!" one of them snickered. "Maybe she wants a tough guy like me."

"Naw man! She wants to have some of me!"

"Shut up you two!" the leader grunted. "Let me handle this."

They all came into the light and you recognized them from your class. Always causing trouble and flirting with the girls. The first one was generally handsome with strong features and build, but you had Kise.

"Just leave me alone," you managed to get out.

"Not a chance," the first one smirked, grabbing you and shoving you into a dark alley. "We're not finished with you."

"KISE! KI---" you screamed but one of his friends clamped a hand over your mouth, while the other held your hands behind your back.

"I.said.I'm.not.finished," the leader gritted his teeth, stepping towards you. "I've always had my eyes on you but that bastard took you first. I could've had you but you always loved that dumb blonde. Just cuz he's a model, basketball player, and popular. Tch. You have crappy taste. Buut I can make up for it." He took another step towards you, pushing his friends hand out of the way and grabbing your chin.

"Your sexy," he licked his lips. "I want you all to myself."

His friends chuckled in response, while you whimpered, praying for a miracle to happen. 'Kise where are you?!'

His lips almost touched yours, when he slammed back into the wall, letting out a groan.

"She's MY sexy woman, you bastards!" Kise gritted his teeth, as he held his fist in the air.

The leader staggered up and dashed towards him, but Kise saw this and Shoryuken---//I need to stop//---punched him in the chin. Blood sprayed from the man's mouth, sending chills down the other men's spines.

"We gotta go!" they both screamed in unison.

"Where do you think YOU two are going?" Kise glared with his signature serious look.

"Uh...," the men shook in fear. "Nowhere---"

Soon the two were in the air, as Kise held them by the back of their shirts.

"YOU belong in the trash," he said in a threatening voice as he dropped one of the men in a trash can. "There!"

Pretty soon he looked at the other man and gave him a piercing look. His eyes shone bright yellow, giving off a threatening aura. The man prayed for forgiveness but Kise was NOT having it.

The blonde slammed the man into the wall, and punched him dead in the face. Blood trickled down the man's nose and forehead. Kise was not finished, as be repeatedly punched the man in the face, relishing every moment of it. You were so shaked up by what happened, that you didn't notice what was happening.

"KISE!" you yelled at him, seeing his actions.

"BUT HONEY THIS MAN DESERVES TO DIE!!! NO ONE DARES TO TOUCH MY SWEET AND GETS AWAY WITH IT!!!!" he screeched.

"Kise you don't want to go to jail though," you reminded him.

He remembered this and slowly let go of the man's collar, dropping him to the floor.

"Beat it you bastard, before I kill you," he said dead serious. "Go."

"O-okay!" the man spattered while running away.

"BABY! I SHOULDN'T HAVE LEFT YOU!!!! PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!!!!! WAHHHH!!! I'M SORRY! I'M SORRY! I'M SO SO SORRY!!!!! I'M SUCH A HORRIBLE BOYFRIEND LEAVING HIS GIRLFRIEND OUTSIDE WHERE SOME RUFFIANS GOT HER!!!" he cried while hugging you in a TIGHT embrace.

"It's okay Kise," you coughed out. "I wasn't harmed TOO bad. And...you can let go of me now...losing oxygen."

"NEVER LEAVE ME!!!! I'M NEVER GONNA LET YOU GO!!! NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP!!! NEVER GONNA LET YOU DOWN!!!!!---"

"Kise that song is so old," you covered his mouth. "And I said I'm FINE. Okay? So don't worry."

"Alright," he sighed. "I got you something though!"

"What is it?"

"THIS!"

He took out a small box adorned with jewels. Inside were two rings with half of a heart on each one.

"These are halves of a promise ring. I promise to love you forever and always. Your the only girl I want to be with and I cherish our time together. Your mine and no one else's. No other girl compares to you and can take your place. No gift, object, or words can express my LOVE FOR YOU!!!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!! PLEASE ME MINE ONLY!!!! BABY I LOVE CHUUUUU!!!!! BOO BOOOOOOO!!!!" he started to cry and wail.

"Awwww Kise! I love you so much!" you started to cry because those words touched you. Even though he was overdramatic...he always knew what to say. He really was your world and you never want to leave his side.

His finger wiped away your tear, as he lifted your chin up to his. Half-lidded eyes stared into yours, as his lips touched yours. A passionate, soft kiss sent chills down your spine because this one was different from the others. You kissed back and relished the moment. This lasted for minutes, until you two gasped for air.

"Your a great kisser," he winked, holding your hand and swinging it. "Let's go home."

"Alright babe," you winked at him.

A blush formed on his face as he grinned widely at you. The long walk home would be interesting.

NOTE: I DEDICATE THIS TO @lilryoutacchi BECAUSE SHE'S SUCH A SWEET PERSON AND I REALLY WANTED TO MAKE HER ONE OF THESE!!!😁😁😁 So...the title SUCKS first of all omfg😑😑😑. I've never written a fan fiction for a KNB character EVER before actually 😅😅😅. Actually...never actually written a PUBLIC fan fiction/self-insert before😌😌😌. It really sucks a bit and is SO corny😰😰😰. I just remembered a lot of KNB fan fiction I've read (I need to read some actually and catch up on ma fan fiction schedule 😶😶😶) and got ideas from those😂. Meet the Mod (100 Qs)

When did I start watching Haikyuu: I first watched Haikyuu around 2016, and then rewatched the past thee seasons recently!

Why did I start watching Haikyuu: I can’t honestly remember much, other than I really liked their designs? I never really watched any sports anime before HQ, and wasn’t sure what to expect. I fell in love with the characters though and ended up actually liking volleyball.

Why do I like Haikyuu: CHARACTERS!!! Of course I get hyped during the games, like to an insane amount, but the personalities and backstories and relationship dynamics have me h o o k e d. I would die for these boys and I can’t think of a character I dislike off the top of my head

Manga or Anime: I have trouble reading the manga during the volleyball scenes so I haven’t read more than around 40 chapters

Favorite Episode: It’s hard to pick but Episode 8, Season 2. We get to see a soft baby Tsuki and Yamaguchi, PLUS CAT AND OWL BOYS HARASSING OUR BEAUTIFUL MOON!! I love Tsukishima’s interactions with BokuAkaKuro

Favorite Season: Season Two,, hands down

Favorite Scene: LITERALLY ANY SCENE WHERE HINATA GOES TO EXTREME LENGTHS TO SAVE THE BALL, OR THE FIRST SCENE WHERE WE SEE HIM JUMP AFTER THE BALL THAT GOT FUCKED UP DURING THE SET!! I GET SO H Y P E!!!

Favorite Team: I am attached to all of the teams really, but I love Nekoma

Favorite Character: BOKUTO! BO KU TO!!! TOP 5 ACE IN JAPAN!!! BEST OWL BOY!!!!

Best anime I’ve watched: In my opinion, One Piece. I love One Piece, and is a staple to my childhood and adolescence. I can watch dub or sub it’s so damn good. I love the characters and story so much, it never fails to pull me in. It is hard to first become invested but after the first 300 episodes you’re hooked lmao

Worst anime you’ve watched: Any SoA after the first. The first was okay, I liked it when it first came out and the hype wasn’t too big. It was cute, interesting, and I liked the concept. The following seasons were meaningless, annoying as hell, and they should of left it at the first.

For sports anime I recommend: Prince of Stride! Alternative, you might not have seen it yet but the characters are adorable and parkour racing just looks cool??

For romance: Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun, I love it so much!!
