I know I mentioned i was going to create a little video - or even a Will you be my Vale-nylander-tine card - but then you wrote me such a lovely and amazing story of William being smitten - what an absolute dream that would be. The algorithm on my ig feed was non-stop 50 shades of gray-esque today...but there was one reel that I had originally wanted to send you. But then you inspired me to write you a little something for Dream Boyfriend Day and all I can do is hope that you'll like it because yours I will always cherish.

You lay limp in his arms, barely enough strength left to trace a line through the sweat on his abdomen.

William softly kisses your head. "You okay?"

You nod, but the truth is—you’re not okay. You’re beyond any level of okay. You’ve passed the point of no return. Logic no longer rides shotgun in your mind; in its place is an unshakable need, an all-consuming want, and a total adoration for him. Anything before him was nothing—it was all watered-down drivel by comparison.

His voice is low and croaky, the way it was that first time, when he hesitated before asking if he could kiss you. "Don't take this like I’m complaining—because I absolutely am not—but I have never heard you talk that way before… telling me what you wanted in the ways you wanted it."

It’s true. What’s even truer is that you have no idea where this version of you came from—the one who whined and asked for things through gritted teeth. It was all so uncharacteristically bold and unapologetic, coming deep from within. William had unlocked something inside you, something wild that he had drawn out without even trying.

You’re not embarrassed, not really, but you tuck into him anyway, hiding your face just a little.

"I just… I had to say it all. How you were making me feel, what I wanted… I had to get it out so you knew how good it all was."

William smiles, then chuckles softly. "Well, mission accomplished. Probably one of the hottest experiences I’ve ever had."

When you finally find your bearings again, the two of you slide out of bed, meandering into the kitchen. Up until that moment, William had been your only source of sustenance.

As he blends a shake for you both, you scroll through your phone, leaning against the counter, fingers idly flipping through Insta reels—until one grabs your attention.

A simple statement, but one that resonates so deeply - like it had been posted specifically for you to see it in that moment:

"When a woman is the nastiest, sluttiest version of herself in the bedroom, what she’s functionally communicating with her behavior—not with her words, but with her actions—is this: You are the most desirable man I’ve ever met. I’m willing to break the rules I rigidly enforced with all other men… for you."

The words strike a chord because that’s exactly what happened.

Geology and the Extinct Silver Trout

Okay... this is a little out of the scope for this blog I admit... But two days ago I watched this YouTube Documentary by Atlas Pro linked here.

It was super interested and I recommend giving it a watch...and I really can't stop thinking about it.

The REALLY short blip of this entire documentary is looking for the extinct silver trout (Salvelinus agassizii) that was found in these two lakes in Connecticut that were then overfished, and then later outcompeted by introduced species.

A sad story, as most extinction stories are, but there was a lot of interesting points that were brought up in this video, and in very old records regarding the fish and I would like comment briefly on all of this!

First, some background info:

These fish were found in 2 lakes hundreds of miles away from one another, yet not found in any other lakes, ponds, rivers between the two today (notice the stress on today).

Except... 20~ish thousand of years ago these lakes were along rivers that connected to a large glacial lake named Glacial Lake Hitchcock.

Tragically, Lake Hitchcock catastrophically emptied a couple thousand years after forming, leaving the original population of these silver trout gone, and these small remnant populations, very far apart from one another.

I won't really get into the overfishing practices or anything like that because I want you to watch Atlas Pro's video. But something that stuck out to me was that it was a man named Aggasiz's request that specimens of the fish be sent to be identified in the first place, but otherwise I am unsure of if they would have been identified sooner due to the ambiguity of the fish being used against it to allow for more fishing (avoiding fishing seasons and such).

But this entire video I heard whispers of that name, that I couldn't shake off. The name Louis Aggasiz... Now for the geology community this may ring some bells as the first man to hypothesis about the existence of ice ages!

And upon looking it up, it was in fact the same Louis Aggasiz!

How ironic right? Agassiz the man who first considered ice ages (documentary about that here), had also been the person to push for the identification and preservation of a fish population created because of a glacial lake that occupied the area thousands of years ago.

Anyway!!

One of the questions Atlas Pro had at the was quite simple. "two of these lakes hosted these populations, could there be more remaining we had never discovered? A fun idea to ponder! Especially because these locations still have large swaths of pristine land.

He opened this out to researches and people about to go into a Master's and Ph.D. to look into! and I also agree. This could be the perfect collaborative study in geology, geography, and biology!

Anyway, I hope y'all watch the video and the documentary linked. I have since binged a lot of Atlas Pro's content and it filled the void that was forming from lack of Miniminuteman's videos. Later!

for anyone who has ever seen someone claim pansexual was coined on social media by teenagers in the early 2000s, the 2010s, and even in the past few years, and believed it or wondered if it’s true, or known it’s not true and been annoyed by the misinformation, this article is for you!

after listing out all of the claims i’ve seen, i succinctly debunk them by laying out a brief overview of pansexual’s history dating back to the 1960s, both as a term generally indicating universal appeal/inclusion and a term indicating sexual freedom/attraction to all genders. i include a look at pansexual’s use specifically within queer spaces, with a focus on bisexual spaces, as well.

i also touch briefly on omnisexual and polysexual existing in similar contexts to pansexual dating back to the 1960s. and finally, i discuss a little bit about how when, where, and by whom a label is created doesn’t determine the validity or usefulness of it, because these claims come with the implication that new labels, labels created by kids, and labels originating on social media aren’t legit forms of queer expression and identification.

i finally deleted twitter! it sucks that i’ve lost that little corner of the fandom, but it didn’t make sense to maintain once it was in musk’s hands, so this was long overdue. i will always credit the skam fandom that i found over there back in 2017 for shaping me as a writer, as well as for inspiring me to travel. i know it was considered a toxic place for the fandom even back then, but it was a platform i grew up with and could communicate on, which meant i connected with some very lovely people. i was devastated when my original account was suspended back in like, 2021? because i had lost a lot of early writing and some friends who had moved on to other fandoms at that point. but i tried to take screenshots of what i had left. a lot of my links to twitter won’t work now, either, but that’s what you get when you depend on someone else as an archival tool.

Okay finished my arcane season 1 rewatch (and I absolutely didn’t cry again) (I'm lying I'm still wiping the tears off) and god it really is a master class of storytelling, isn’t it.

The last episode being called 'the monster you made'. Silco condemning Vander for giving up fighting because it endangered those he loves, only to then himself being unable to obtain his goal because it would mean giving up the only person he loves and he finally understands. Zaun being inches from getting their independence and freedom only for a hurt child to blow it all up in the name of the father figure she killed to protect a sister who left her. Because that's the thing, isn’t it. Jinx and Silco are monsters and legitimate villains but only becaue Piltover created them. They made their own choices sure, but they were choices that would never have even been on the table if they didn't exist in the constant despair and desperation and loss that is living in oppression under a police state that fancies itself a utopia. Piltover and the council built their own monsters and were then shocked and horrified when they acted the part and bit back.

you know i had a fun little vp idea i wanted to do for the cyberpunk anniversary but i haven't had the energy to even touch it recently so i'll just settle with saying that this game impacted me in ways i never thought it would when i first picked it up 3 years ago. i knew i would enjoy it, i had been looking forward to it for a long time, and despite a ~controversial~ launch, i had a fucking blast from day 1 (on ps4 no less). regardless of bugs and memes and public dunking, the story grabbed me like nothing else could at the time, and it reignited so much of my passion and motivation for art that i had lost in the clutches of mental illness and i'll always be grateful for that. it introduced me to so many wonderful people (some whom i carry very close to my heart), and maybe most personally surprising, it gave me an outlet to understand parts of myself that i had been too afraid to acknowledge for a long time, the courage to accept and embrace myself as non-binary, and allow myself to just BE without trying to convince myself i'm crazy. that's not what i expected from the get-go but it's been a really fun journey to be on ngl
