the crazy thing about how people talk about polyamory on this site is one of two things happens: 1. People shit on polyamory & those who practice it. OR 2. People talk about wanting polyamory or not wanting it respectfully but are fueled by an inherent misunderstanding of what polyamory is. Frustrates the hell out of me but what are you going to do, y'know? People are so stuck on this idea of triads being the polyamorous norm and I honestly think no one cares to learn otherwise. Triads can work, but man. They are not the norm nor a realistic goal; especially when you're going "well I would want to date with my partner so it feels balanced"- okay, so what if the new partner wants to break up with you but stay with your partner. Would you force them to break up so it "feels balanced" again? Idk. Some people on this site treat polyamory like it's the avoid jealousy at all costs game instead of a relationship structure that takes work & is, quite frankly, not easy. If you can't manage your jealousy enough that you NEED to date as a unit with your partner then like... why are you even practicing polyamory? You don't want polyamory, you want polyamory without any of the icky feelings that come with it (which won't work anyway, because those feelings will STILL come up). Also polyamory isn't free from jealousy idk where some of you got that idea. On that note, experiencing jealousy also doesn't mean failing polyamory. HOWEVER: If you cannot learn to emotionally regulate yourself, you will not do well in polyamory. You need to be able to deal with your jealousy on your own. You can find comfort in your partners, but you can't expect them to cater to your jealousy.

I realized recently (read: today as I'm writing this) that while I associate certain specific fiber arts with Athena (knitting, weaving, dying, and spinning), I associate crochet specifically with Apollo, though Athena's there too, of course. I think it's because it's more free-flowing: I can freehand something with crochet more easily than I can with knitting, both because I've known it longer and because there are fewer Things To Learn, unlike knitting which has a million different techniques that may seem interchangeable but actually aren't and that all affect the end product in a pretty big way (looking at you decreases & bind-offs). Because I can free-hand crochet more easily, and I grew with it the same way I did with drawing, they have similar vibes. Knitting and weaving, on the other hand, have steeper learning curves imo and are way more structured- and I associate more solid (dare I say rigid) structure with Athena. Embroidery and cross-stitch are kinda in their own floating category, maybe because I do them less and therefore have weaker associations with them over-all. I associate hand-sewing largely with Hestia, though again, Athena is always also there, because I associate it with mending, altering clothing, and making home items (ex the quilted pillowcase I've been mentally turning around in my head for the last few weeks).

Interestingly, I find printmaking specifically to be associated with both Athena and Apollo. It leans into the latter's domain, of course, the same way crochet does Athena's, but the structure you need in order to layer & print properly without hurting yourself, ruining equipment, or fucking up you edition seems reminiscent of Athena. Dyeing, especially making & using natural dyes, feels very much like an Athena thing despite it 1) feeling similar to painting or using inks and 2) being a trial & error process that's honestly pretty free-flowing if you approach it a certain way (especially if you do solar dyeing, which doesn't necessarily need some of the more meticulous processes you need to boil-dye something).

I kind of don't like how a lot of people forget that despite all the angst and the drama around Dean and Cas they are fundamentaly best friends.

How many times did Dean say it throught the entire show? Bobby in season 6 saying "Well, you just lost the best friend you ever had."

For Bobby to say that, knowing Dean better than even Sam in some regards, how many times had Dean been sitting with Castiel on the couch in his living room?

Cas doesn't sleep, and rarely does Dean, with the Apocalypse looming right behind him.

So all they had left, in those quiet nights were each other. And they were okay with it, because they liked each other's company.

This man will drive you up the wall—particularly in the beginning of the relationship.

He’s not good at communication, considering that that was never present in his life before he died and after he came back to life. 

That being said, I do think he, in some sort of subconscious way, is aware that there’s no communication. 

He’s somehow balancing on the thin line of being overly emotional and emotionally unavailable (hence, he drives you up the wall). 

When you first start dating, it’s hesitant. Slow and uncertain. There are many incidents where Jason, in all of his emotional maturity, believes that you must hate him. So he stops texting you. No longer calls. Never visits. And you’re left waiting, tearing yourself up every night wondering where he is, what you’ve done, and what’s going to happen. 

And each time, he comes back (a bit like a stray cat), and he asks if you can try again. 

Continuously, you have to remind him that there’s no reason for you to hate him—however, if he keeps leaving you like that, then there won’t be any more ‘trying again’. 

That kicked him into gear a bit, and made him realise that you’re not going to let his insecurities ruin you, but you don’t want them to ruin him either. You’re there for him, and you don’t hate him for the things he does, or what he has done. 

Again, a bit like a skittish stray cat, he starts warming up to the idea that you’re fully accepting of him (though his doubt lingers). 

As your relationship progresses, the more he begins to regulate his moods and emotions. That being said, his issues with Bruce and the rest of the vigilantes easily tip him over the edge, and he’s said many things in anger to you that have resulted in tears and strangled apologies. 

But things do get better, though it takes time, quite a bit of reassurance, and…possibly a nudge to therapy.

To clarify, however, getting Jason into therapy would be one of the most difficult achievements of your life, but insanely worth it. The conversation would open up painfully, and you’d lay it out plainly for him: he needs help in ways that you can’t provide, and if he’s not willing to put in the effort, the relationship will fall apart. 

This man, despite all his flaws, knows that he loves you. So he does it, but it’s never with himself in mind, but you instead. 

That never changes, unfortunately. 

Now this might seem a little depressing (he’s a depressing character), there is a lot of good in your relationship still, which is why it works out in the first place. 

You’re kind, smart, beautiful, lovely in a unique manner that can only be attributed to you—but you’re fiercely aware of your boundaries, which in the long run, helps heal Jason. 

Through you, Jason learns about the consequences of his actions, learns that not everything that’s good in his life will be ripped out from beneath him. He learns that those who want to stay will stay. He learns through you that he won’t taint everything with his past and his struggles, and through you he begins to see his own strengths, rather than continuing to tunnel vision on everything that’s ‘wrong’ with him. 

In terms of how well the rest of the Bats will know you, it would depend on the person themselves. Jason will do everything in his power to keep you away from Bruce, that’s for certain, but he might not have a choice when it comes down to Dick, Babs, Steph, maybe even Duke, and Damian and Tim will meet you on a whim (you love them, though they’re all really weird).

And after the trials and tribulations of the relationship, the both of you know each other like the back of your hands. You’re as familiar to Jason as the backwater laneways of Gotham are, and you could recite everything that you know about Jason in your sleep. There’s no stone unturned, no flaw unexposed, no secrets kept hidden. 

You’re Jason’s favourite person, and if the effort he puts into keeping you by his side doesn’t make that obvious, I don’t know what will.

It’s funny that Sumire is the one with the Cinderella persona and Akechi is the one with the prince outfit and yet the most Prince Charming-coded thing in the game is Joker holding onto a single glove, waiting for its owner to return after the magic that let them spend a brief time together was over. I've rewatched this damn show like 50 times or more at this point and still I find myself always watching Charles even if he isn't the "focus" of the scene because not only is he always lurking and observing but he's also REACTING. Like, full face reactions at all times.

something I find irritating is when anakin's insecurities are treated as inherently irrational

like of course anakin is insecure in his relationship with obi-wan... obi-wan non-stop criticises anakin in AOTC and doesn't really praise him, literally responding to anakin calling him his father as 'then why don't you listen to me' (or something along those lines)

like of course anakin feels insecure in his place in the jedi order, they literally rejected him as a nine year old for being 'too old' and 'too scared' for his enslaved mother.

of course palpatine feeds on anakin's insecurities but that doesn't mean they come from a place of illegitimacy, some people act like obi-wan was being the Perfect Loving Mentor and anakin was simply Too Dumb To See and it irritates me
