if you want people to get into the canon comics and lead everyone away from fanon misinterpretation (which is a losing battle because there will ALWAYS be this) then why not be helpful instead of being a dick about it 🤨

the comics are hard to get into because it's hard to know where to start, and there's so much content that people are able to fill themselves in by reading fanfic or watching something on tiktok or seeing posts about it on here. perhaps instead of telling people they're stupid for not realizing your favorite character is being mishandled by others, you could write up a list of your favorite comics and/or how, if you could read them for the first time again, you would order your favorite comics to get the best reading experience. and also write your own fanfiction and draw your own fanart or make a passionate post, answer questions politely

It's a new year! And that means a new profile Pic and watermark!

The biggest change is the swap from my milk-encapsuled-frog (patent pending/j) to my Sona! I decided on the swap because

It felt too branded? It didn't feel personalized or really meaningful, just an extension of my username

My Sona holds alot more of my identity, it's how I express myself in art

The frog is so hard to pose. It's literally in a milk carton and the perspective issues do not help.

How tf am I supposed to dress-up that frog in outfits, like do I put it in a different bottle?? Do I drill holes in a cola can???

I do love my froggy fellow but for now he will be retiring (maybe they'll find a hobby or start a band, they are freed from profile picture duty's to go do whatever they want).

Also I have two watermarks now! A signature and one with my Sona that's very reminiscent of my old watermark. All of my new stuff is more vibrant now to reflect alot more confidence and improvement in my art! I can't really explain the rainbowy stuff lmao, I just think it adds a bit of whimsy and looks neat.

I hope y'all enjoy the changes, they're a bit jarring but I think they're a lot more me!

I'm not having Donald Trump's name in the comment section of my queer (?) fanfiction (?) about the importance of restorative justice (?) and not letting our implicit biases against out-groups we find frightening lead us to commit our own violence in the name of 'justice' (?????).

If you don't want people to take your comments as political statements, I highly recommend you use AO3's feature to change your username (see instructions at link). At literally any time you have the ability to change your username to not mention your political views, allowing authors who see your comments to not get whacked in the face with the name of a politician who hates them, their friends and everything they stand for ideologically.

If I might also recommend, just as a general piece of online courtesy: when someone blocks you on one social media website, it can be frustrating. We would all like strangers to like us and want to interact with us. However, it's considered generally even more rude to try and follow them to other websites to get them to explain why they've blocked you. Sometimes you have to let things go.
