back for another jjk yap sess, this time abt geto LOL...
im honestly a little surprised i never noticed this before but the way that geto (who thought that his best friend was killed and saw a girl he was essentially willing to uproot his life for get murdered right in front of him) tries SOO hard to stay calm while toji's talking and then the MOMENT he brings satoru up again and trivializes riko's death, suguru loses it. i'm thinking suguru let him talk in the first place despite the risk of letting toji reveal his pact (and wanting to kill him Very Bad) cuz he figured it would be better to understand toji's deal since he beat satoru, something that suguru trusted would not happen
but then he starts referring to satoru strictly as "the six eyes", and i think that suguru, one of the few people that saw satoru as a person beyond his cursed technique or his family name could not help but get super pissed abt toji's dehumanization of satoru (and riko too, who he only refers to as the star plasma vessel). i just thought that it was very interesting....... suguru cared so much and it makes me CRAZY AS FUCK.
like, to begin with i think its sooo so interesting that suguru made it a point to be considerate of all the human parts of satoru despite the fact that im sure most other people assume he doesn't need to be worried about. i'll never stop thinking about suguru asking if he needs a break since he's overusing his technique, telling him he worked hard after getting back to the school, trying to rush to his side after he's been stabbed and being conflicted when satoru tells him to leave with riko and kuroi... he didn't just assume satoru could handle all that shit on his own cuz even if he could have he shouldn't have to.
also related omg im almost done i promise but!! the scene where suguru gets to the star religious group and sees satoru again for the first time...
the way that he can't even believe his eyes, probably in part because he's acting way different but also because he thought he FUCKING DIED. and he had to drag himself out of the tomb of the stars and probably went to look for gojo's body before even going to shoko. and then he had to tell her he couldn't even find his body man WHAT THE FUCK!!! i think maybe saw a twitter post about this part in particular but he might have thought toji took riko's body and satoru's, so the thought that he went all the way there thinking he'd have to see two dead bodies of people he cared about... ugh. suguru geto i love you
#if this makes no sense at all that's fine i wrote it like i was possessed#i need jjk mutuals to talk to or something cuz i dont wanna annoy my friends with every silly thought in my head LOOL#ive been having a rlly hard time getting into drawing lately so i gotta get the worms out somehow#i plan on posting a fic actually at the end of the month but it'll probably be late LMAO#also i tried so hard to keep my deranged stsg headcanons out of this......... i dont think it really worked#anyway if anything in here is wrong or a reach uhhh just ignore it i tried my best LOL#i love riko so fucking much by the way its insane. i would draw her if i had the energy but since i dont maybe ill just ramble about her#geto suguru#gojo satoru#riko amanai#toji fushiguro#shoko ieiri#jujutsu kaisen#jjk#jjk rambles#as a treat....#satosugu#sugusato#stsg#doodootalks

Alright, everyone who wanted a continuation for the three sentence fics for pinned and searching, here you go! I made this longer then it needed to be but that’s ok it was fun *looks guiltily at other things I’m supposed to be writing* ...heh.
Warning for some blood, injury, and uhhh being stuck under a collapsed cave.
——————————————————————
Warriors shut his eyes a moment, trying to focus despite the pain in his middle and the small space he was trapped in that felt like it was closing in around him. He needed to get himself and Wild out of here in one piece, but he had no clue how on earth he was going to do that.
Warriors breathed out, and felt around the hand he’d found, trying to brush the debris off of it. He couldn’t reach any further then a little past the wrist though, and he couldn’t tell how buried Wild was.
He needed to get himself out first, it seemed.
Warriors swallowed and momentarily let go of Wild’s hand, feeling around the large thing he himself was trapped under. It felt heavy, but Warriors tried to shift it anyway, gasping as pure agony burned up his side at the movement.
He fell still again and panted as he waited for the pain to go down, coughing out some of the dust coating his lungs. Even once the worst of it faded, there was still a sharp pulse of pain that remained in his middle, somewhere near his ribs or lungs. Warriors didn’t know for sure, but either way it hurt, and that along with the fact that he was half buried, he knew he wouldn’t be able to free himself or Wild.
It looked like they’d just have to wait for rescue.
Warriors felt out Wild’s hand again, wishing he could move the fabric away from his wrist and check his pulse. It was too thick for him to feel anything, but the angle was wrong for him to pull it off. All he could do was hope Wild was still breathing, that the rest of him was okay.
I don’t even know if his head is uncovered, he thought suddenly, panic stealing his breath . He might be too buried to breathe, I don’t even know if his head is okay, who’s to say it wasn’t bashed in by a rock and I’m holding the hand of a—
A weak cough interrupted his spiraling panic, and Warriors froze, his heart thudding in his ears. Another followed it, faint and rasping, and the fingers in Warriors’ grip twitched just a little.
“Champion?” he asked, barely daring to breathe.
The coughing faded, followed by a wavering inhale, and Warriors held tighter to the hand in his.
“Wild?” he asked again, trying desperately to see though the darkness. He couldn’t make out a thing, but he was certain he hadn’t imagined the noises. Unless of course, he was starting to run out of air and was hallucinating things. Which was always a possibility.
“...W-Wars..?” a voice finally croaked, and Warriors breathed out a sigh of relief, ignoring the ache that shot up his middle due to it. Looks like we still have some air yet.
“Yeah. Yeah, ‘s me,” Warriors whispered back, giving the hand in his a squeeze.
“Wh-what...” Wild stammered, his voice weak and crackling, “wh... where..?”
“Wild, are you hurt?” Warriors asked, and it was quiet for a second.
“...Dunno. Th-think... ‘m arm h’rts...”
Something faintly rumbled in the distance, and Warriors held his breath as a few stray pebbles fell on his face. It faded again moments later, but he thought the pressure on his middle had slightly increased with the noise.
Wild’s breath suddenly hitched. “W’re... buried.”
Warriors breathed out. “Yeah.”
Wild’s breath hitched again, and the hand in Warriors’ began to shake, fingers fumbling as they tried to clutch at Warriors’.
“Wild, hey, easy,” Warriors breathed, holding more tightly to his hand, but he could hear Wild’s breathing speed up.
“No... n-no I can’t—”
“Wild, calm down,” Warriors said in as clear of a voice as he could, then coughed, the pain in his middle feeling worse. That’s starting to hurt an awful lot. “The... the others ‘ll come.”
“W’re buried,” Wild gasped, panic making him cough, and Warriors heard rubble shift, like Wild was trying to move. “W-Wars I can’t—”
“Wild. Listen,” Warriors said in a commanding voice, ignoring the urge to cough again. “You need to stay calm. I don’t kn-know how much air w-we have, we need to stay... calm.”
He grabbed firmly at Wild’s hand, and Wild clutched back at it, his breath still rasping loudly in the enclosed space.
“‘S too small,” Wild whispered, fingers shaking as he clung to Warriors’ hand. “Too... tight, ‘s like the... too small.”
Wild’s voice was small and scared, lacking the usual bright and teasing quality it almost always held. Warriors squeezed his eyes shut as he ran his fingers over Wild’s, then reopened them, trying to think past the fog trying to overtake his senses. Something was trying to break through it, an idea of sorts that they could use to get out, but it hadn’t succeeded yet.
“‘M not a fan of smaller spaces either,” Warriors admitted in a soft rasp. “Not fun. Gimme... ‘n open field any day.”
“Don’ sound so w-worried yr’self,” Wild muttered shakily, and Warriors coughed out a laugh.
“Perfected th-the art of faking it, bud.”
Wild let out a small, hysterical croak, a distant mirror of a laugh, but his frantic gasps had begun to ease. His breath still rasped more then it should, but Warriors was relieved at even the slight improvement.
Things fell silent between them for a moment, and Warriors took a minute to breathe, an action that was getting harder and harder to do successfully. The hot, painful feeling in his middle was starting to grow to an agonizing degree, and the fog was growing thicker around his senses. But the idea that had been forming in his head finally broke through, and Warriors shifted his head towards where Wild was.
“Wild,” he said, unable to keep his voice from hitching with pain. “C-can you reach your... slate?”
The fingers in Warriors’ twitched, then slowly withdrew, the quiet sound of rocks and pebbles being shifted reaching him. For a moment it was all Warriors could hear, that and an occasional shaky inhale like Wild was stopping himself from letting out a more pained noise, but then he heard a small hum.
“I... I cn touch it,” Wild said, voice more shaky then it had been before. “Don’ think I can... pull it, but... m-might be able to get... Wind.”
“Okay,” Warriors breathed, squeezing his eyes shut and reopening them. “See if... you c-can—”
A cough spilled from his lips, and Warriors was unable to stop the fit he suddenly broke into, coughs that were thick and painful, bringing tears to his eyes with how they made his chest burn.
He wasn’t able to stop for several long moments, and his head spun dizzyingly as he caught his breath, middle full of a liquid fire so intense he could barely breathe.
“Wars?” Wild asked in a sharp, terrified voice, and Warriors coughed again, something warm dripping down his lip.
“‘M fi...” he rasped, dragging in another breath. “Fine, ‘m fine Wild. Call... Wind.”
Wild didn’t reply, but Warriors could feel the disbelief radiating from him as the quiet sounds of him shuffling in the debris sounded out again. The only other noise was Warriors’ wheezing breaths, and it was a few moments before Warriors heard a soft click.
The faintest bit of blue shone through the rocks nearby, not enough to see by, but enough that Warriors knew Wild had succeeded in turning on his slate.
“Sailor,” Wild rasped, trying to make his voice louder, and then coughing due to the effort. “S-Sailor... y’there..?”
He fell silent, and both of them strained their ears, even though Warriors was having an extremely hard time focusing. It felt like a Goron had sat on his chest, and was occasionally stomping around on his ribs, painful and heavy on his bones. But he couldn’t free himself, so it was just something he’d have to deal with.
Warriors shivered, and tried not to wheeze as his middle ached at the movement.
The sooner the both of them got out, the better.
“...hea...know I...see if...”
Warriors and Wild both stilled at the faint words, and listened in silence, Warriors’ heart beating loudly in his ears.
“—ampion! Is that you?!”
Wild let out a slightly hysterical laugh, and Warriors smiled, even though he knew Wild couldn’t see it.
“‘S me, m-me and Wars,” Wild said, relief thick in his voice. The connection that had come through was weak and staticky, and Warriors couldn’t entirely tell who had spoken, but they’d made contact at least.
“Are you two—kay?” the voice continued on, and Warriors thought it might’ve been Twilight’s. “We’re working on digging you—might be a bit.”
“Wars isn’t... he’s pretty b-bad,” Wild replied, and when Warriors opened his mouth to protest that Wild was equally bad-off if not worse, all that came out was another string of thick coughs.
He missed whatever was said next, a swirl of pain and fog clouding his senses, more warmth dripping down his chin. When he finally checked back in, Wild’s hand had grabbed at his again, and Warriors dragged in a rasping breath, the faint light from Wild’s slate growing blurry.
“—old on a bit longer, we’re going as fast as we can,” the voice came through again, more frantic then before. “Just hold on you two, we’re coming, I promise.”
“Y’ hear that W-Wars?” Wild croaked, holding his hand with a shaky grip. “Jus’... hold on.”
“Only ‘f you... do too,” Warriors rasped, and Wild hummed softly in reply, the sound thin with pain.
The voice from the slate said something again, but Warriors didn’t catch it, and he didn’t think Wild did either, based on how the voice seemed to grow frantic again, and louder. He couldn’t make out any of the words, and Warriors began to sink into the fog of pain his mind was fighting so hard to resist.
He thought he might have heard the rumbling sound in the distance again, like the rocks trapping them were being shifted, but he wasn’t sure. Dust fell on his head, but Warriors merely closed his eyes against it, too numb to even be scared any more. If he was going to be crushed, so be it. He only wished he’d gotten the chance to speak with his friends in his own time once more.
The fog had fully enveloped him now. The only thing that was clear was Wild’s hand pressed against his, fingers trembling, coated in dust and dirt and something sticky.
Warriors drifted along like that for what felt like forever, clinging to what few sensations he had left, Wild’s hand the only thing keeping him from fully falling away.
“—found them!”
And then there was light, so bright that Warriors had to close his eyes against it, and couldn’t help the whimper he let out. The voice was louder then ever, like Wild’s slate was right against his ear, and Warriors wished he could cover his ears.
“—get the rocks off, this thing is huge, he must be—”
“—lot of blood, that’s too much—”
“—lia I don’t know how either of them didn’t just—”
“—easy Link, easy, we’re getting you out, hold on.”
Something touched his face, and Warriors flinched, sounds and light and the endless pain in his middle too overwhelming for him to focus on anything. The voices kept floating around and over him, but Warriors could only catch bits of what was spoken.
Was Wild’s slate glitching?
The thing touched his face again, gentle and soft as it carefully turned his head to the side, and when fingers brushed his forehead, Warriors’ scrambled senses finally put together the fact that this must mean they’d finally been rescued.
He wheezed out a soft gasp of relief, and did his best to squeeze Wild’s hand, their fingers still connected. Wild faintly twitched back, and Warriors exhaled, relief swamping over him.
He didn’t remember any of the rest of their rescue, his senses fading out as the others pulled them from the rubble of the cave. Any travel or bandaging was lost to him, and he had no clue how long it had been when he flickered back awake.
The first thing he noticed was that he was on a soft bed, and that there was sunshine and a fresh breeze spilling in through the curtains. Time and Twilight were asleep on chairs by the bed, Wind flopped on their laps, Twilight’s head resting on Time’s shoulder. They all looked exhausted, and Warriors listened to Twilight snore for a minute, then looked down at himself.
His injuries were bandaged, blood and dirt cleaned from his clothes. His scarf had been cleaned as well, the blue bright and soft, and when Warriors looked beside him and saw Wild in a similar state to himself, the relief hit him again, even more intensely.
They’d made it.
They were out, and they were both alive.
Warriors exhaled, closing his eyes again. His head hurt and he was sore what felt like everywhere, not to mention his breathing still held an odd rasp, but he and Wild were okay.
They’d made it.
He felt out Wild’s hand again, and gave it a soft squeeze, relieved when Wild softly squeezed it back. The champion nestled up a bit closer to his side, and Warriors let himself drift off again, feeling perfectly content.

Keeper of the Lost Cities: Forevermore (Chapter 3)
“Keefe?” Sophie wheeled around.
Her boyfriend stood with crossed arms, a white uniform, and his signature smirk.
“Can’t go one day without going to the healing center, can’t you, Foster?” He joked.
“You know me.” Sophie sighed and smiled. She hadn’t seen Keefe in a few days. He’d been busy moving into Splendor Plains. Sophie was happy he was living with Elwin instead of his overbearing father, Lord Cassius.
“What are you doing here?” Sophie asked.
“Learning, apparently. Magnate Leto insisted I go back to Foxfire, so here I am!” Keefe grinned.
“I didn’t see you at orientation.” Sophie noted.
“Well, I did some training with Grady this morning. But it took longer than expected.” He explained.
“Why? Did something go wrong?” Sophie scrunched her eyebrows.
“Ahh, and you’ve got that adorable worried look on your face. Everything’s fine, Foster. But, um, he wanted to talk to me.” Keefe looked a bit nervous as he told her the last part.
“About what?” Sophie pressed.
“Soooo, uhhh, well, have you talked to your parents about…us?” Keefe asked.
“No, I haven’t.” Sophie replied.
And it was true. Although, Sophie was sure Edalune suspected their relationship through all the sappy smiles, she had yet to tell them it was official. She really didn’t want to think about what Grady would say, though, since he had a past of not favoring Keefe. And if he knew she was dating That Boy?
Pure chaos and embarrassment.
“Well, Grady asked me if there was anything going on between us.” Keefe sighed.
“What did you say?” Sophie gasped.
“I told him we were in a relationship.” He shrugged.
Sophie’s eyes widened.
“What?!” She exclaimed, “Why did you tell him?” She asked, frustrated.
“Hey, I thought it was better to tell the truth.” Keefe argued.
“But this is Grady we’re talking about. He…didn’t kill you?” Sophie narrowed her eyes.
Keefe’s smirk returned. “Nope. Turns out the Gradynator actually likes me.” He laughed.
“Thank god,” said Sophie, “But I bet I’m in for a long, stern talk when I get home.”
“Sorry..” Keefe told her.
“It’s alright. I guess it’s good that we got it over with.”
The bell rung for lunch.
“Well, I guess it’s time to go say hello to our bffs.” Keefe reached for her hand. Sophie got butterflies as their fingers intertwined. They walked down the hall to the cafeteria together and spotted Biana and Tam at their usual table.
Bianas eyes widened. “Keefe! You’re here!” She realized.
“Unfortunately.” He joked.
Tam just stared at their clasped hands.
“Anyways.” Sophie breathed, plopping down in a chair, and Keefe in the one next to her.
“Your hair is looking shinier than usual, Bangs Boy.” Keefe noted.
Tam’s bangs did have more of a shimmer to them.
“Oh uh, yeah I decided to melt more silver in” He fussed with his bangs.
“It looks really good.” Biana told him.
Tam looked the other way and Biana tugged at the ends of her hair.
They seemed…awkward.
And both of them were flushing red…
But Sophie decided not to acknowledge it.
And neither did Keefe, apparently. Even though this was quite the epic teasing opportunity.
“Look who’s back.” Fitz muttered setting down his tray.
“Fitz!” Sophie exclaimed a bit too loudly.
He sat on the opposite side of her.
“Hiya, Fitzy!” Keefe smiled at him.
Sophie hoped he’d ignore Fitz’s glare, but that was impossible. Fitz eyed Keefe with a hundred daggers.
Keefe sucked in a breath, like he was about to snap him a reply, but he stayed quiet.
“Well,” Marella plopped down next to Biana, breaking the awkwardness, “I’m pretty sure I failed that metaphysics test! But, eh, what’s new?” She smiled, tossing her reddish blonde hair.
“I know, right!” Biana agreed.
“It wasn’t that hard.” Dex sat down next to Keefe.
“Easy for you to say.” Biana grumbled.
Sophie probably failed the test too, but she didn’t contribute to the conversation because she was busy falling asleep again.
Soph? Keefe transmitted.
Huh? Oh sorry I was just…
Tired?
Yeah.. Sophie yawned
You’re so cute. Keefe smirked.
Sophie rolled her eyes.
Do you think we should tell them about us? She asked.
Do you want to tell them? Keefe questioned.
I think we should. Sophie replied, I mean my parents know and Fitz…
Knows we kissed? Keefe finished
Yeah. That. Sophie sighed.
“ME AND FOSTER HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT!” Keefe exclaimed.
“Keefe!” Sophie hissed.
“Don’t worry Soph, I got this.”
Sophie turned to her friends. Their eyes were wide and confused.
Keefe paused, took a deep breath and said, “We wanted to tell you guys…we’re together.” He smiled.
Her friends all looked at each other and smiles started to creep onto their faces.
“Oh crud!” Biana laughed.
“Oh crud, what?” Linh came over and sat by Marella.
“Dex owes me so much money!” Biana smirked.
“Come on!” Dex grumbled.
“Wait, what?” Sophie was confused.
“Yeah they made bets on you.” Marella twirled her hair around her finger.
“So…you guys knew?” Keefe inquired.
“It’s not like you guys were subtle about it.” Tam muttered.
Fitz snorted.
Sophie wasn’t an empath. But if she was, she’d probably get a whole lot of negative emotions coming from her ex-boyfriend.
“I’m so happy for your guys!” Linh grinned.
“Yeah, but dude, if you hurt her at all, you should expect a particularly painful prank coming your way.” Dex warned Keefe.
“Now, Dexter, why would I do that?” Keefe said.
“Why wouldn’t you?” Someone spoke up.
It was Fitz.
“Okay, dude, what is your problem?” Keefe leaned across the table.
“You.” Fitz snarled, “You’re my problem.”

in chains for you [dream]
Dream x Fem!Reader Criminals!AU
Summary: The Dream Team is an underground crime group that works for Techno Industries. But what happens when one of their most valuable members is taken for ransom by their enemy, Schlatt?
Warnings: Swearing & mean insults :(, kidnapping, death, violence, uhhh nothing else? message me if you see anything else!
Word Count: 8.1k+
A/N: I’m so sorry for any mistakes/plot holes, my adhd said no❤️ when i was editing :(
Note: Please remember these are all characters! Since I do not know any of these people in real life, I have created all aspects of their lives, personalities etc. and apologise for any OOC moments. I portrayed Schlatt as the villain purely from his role play in the Dream SMP, obviously, I do not believe him to be like this irl in any way. He is also written as much older than the Dream Team to enhance the villain-like characteristics. Remember, this is just fiction! Thanks!
Night had fallen over California, and the icy breeze from the South blew through the city of Beverly Hills. The lights from several luxury hotels and displays lit up the streets and exposed the city. It was more alive than half the people that resided there. Here, people only cared about their money and their assets; barely any room left for emotions towards others that didn’t benefit them.
“Hurry the fuck up, Sapnap!”
The gravelly sound of Dream shouting prompted Y/n to run faster. Tensions were high as three criminals rushed to the dark SUV that sat running outside of the tall building. They clutched black duffle bags in both hands when the sound of familiar sirens cried a few blocks away.
Unlocking the car, George threw open the back car door and launched his duffle bags onto the car seats before hopping in. Dream rounded the car and opened the door to the driver’s seat, Y/n doing the same for the passenger’s side. And whilst they were shoving the bags in, Sapnap came running out of the building, another duffle bag in his hand and a briefcase in the other. The ends of his white bandana flew around in the wind behind him as he missed a dip in the floor.
“What the fuck has he got now? We’ve gotta go!” George exclaimed, hurrying the boy by waving his hand. Dream put the car in drive as Sapnap slammed the door, “Go, go, go!”
The car squealed while Dream pulled off of the curb, the wheels screeching against the tar as he pressed his foot heavily on the accelerator. 40, 50, 70, 100, 130mph. The speedometer jumped by 10s and then by 40s as the car barrelled down the long strip of road, the wailings of sirens fading behind them.
George, Y/n and Sapnap were laughing as they took their masks off. The sound pissed Dream off as he gripped the steering wheel harder; why is nobody taking this seriously?
Ripping his white mask off his face and throwing it into his lap, Dream looked at Sapnap through the rearview mirror, “Why did you take so long? That could’ve fucked our whole plan!”
“Jeez, chill out.”
Dream shot him a glare through the mirror as Sapnap put his hand up, “Schlatt said he had a briefcase full of Chick-Fil-A gift cards, so I grabbed the first one I saw.”
George lolled his head to the side, mouth agape as he stared at him in disbelief. “Are you shitting me?”
Sapnap shook his head, resting the case on his thighs and popping open the clasps.
“Fuck yeah!” He cheered, turning the case around to show the rest of the car the bundles of hundreds of red and white cards that laid on a sheet of red velvet. Sapnap’s eyes remained as wide as saucers the entire time he tilted the case at different angles to ensure everybody saw.
Y/n turned around in her seat to face the boys in the back and giggled.
“Can I have one?” She asked, holding her hands up in a praying gesture. Sapnap laughed and nodded, “I’ve got enough for a whole country! And anything for you, Y/n.” Y/n smiled at him, mouthing a quick ‘thank you’ before turning back around to face the road that was gone as quick as it came.
The deep sigh that came from Dream in the driver’s seat caught the attention of everybody in the car. Sapnap rolled his eyes and shut the case. “Calm down, green boy. She’s all yours.”
Arriving at the motel George had found, the four lugged the black duffle bags in the small room. Locking the room door, Dream spun around to see everybody sitting on one of the single beds.
He eyed the black duffle bags in the corner with a frown, each one full to the brim with thousands of 100 dollar bills that they had to transfer back to base. George cleared his throat when he saw his friend looking at the bags and raised his eyebrows, “Dream?” The man turned at the sound of his name and nodded once. He had an odd feeling in his stomach but decided to ignore it and face the problem at hand first before anything else.
Dream sighed, “We did good tonight,” The three on the bed hollering softly, fist-bumping each other before Dream continued.
“But...” Y/n, George and Sapnap all groaned, throwing their heads back at the oncoming disappointment that Dream was going to throw on them.
“Sapnap, what the fuck was that? You can’t go off on your own tangents during a plan this big! What would’ve happened if—”
Sapnap’s eyes widened when he realised Dream’s rage was aimed towards him. “Dream! It’s okay, bro. I’m right here, we’re all alive—”
“Don’t talk back to me.”
The silence that followed was deafening. Y/n avoided Dream’s gaze when it landed on her. She didn’t want him asking her to back him up; not tonight.
“Anyway, I hope you all know what comes next.” The three nodded, heads down and eyes trained on the worn carpet. Sapnap and George stood up and went to different sides of the room, George to the bathroom and Sapnap to the desk where he pulled out his iPod and earphones.
Dream watched as Y/n lifted her head back up, meeting his gaze. She gave him a soft smile and patted the space on the bed next to her. Dream ran a hand through his tangled blonde hair and walked over to her, sitting where her hand once was.
“You okay?” She asked softly, placing her hand over his that sat in his lap. Dream nodded before huffing. “I just don’t know how successful this plan actually is. Something’s off.” He whispered, grabbing her hand. Y/n leaned forward to try and meet his green eyes; the ones that made her weak at the knees when he looked at her a certain way. But he didn’t need to know that considering they were just friends.
“We did good today, look! We’re here, alive and well. And if something’s bothering you, just know that I’ll always be here to help you. Now, I need the bathroom.” She smiled, squeezing his hand before standing up.
“George? When are you done?” She yelled at the bathroom door. Dream tilted his head to the side as he admired her, what would he do without her?
“Soon! Stop being annoying!”
It had reached a point in the night where Dream couldn’t sleep. The single bed he laid in was uncomfortable, and the nagging feeling of doubt kept him awake. Something was wrong.
He looked over a Y/n who laid in the other bed across from him. His top priority was to keep her safe; he had to. His eyes then travelled to his two other best friends—Sapnap in the desk chair and George on the brown couch.
He smiled softly. Dream rarely got emotional, but seeing his friends and partners in crime—literally—so vulnerable, had his mind plagued with vicious scenarios that brought tears to his alarmingly vacant eyes.
They weren’t always void, but seeing death as he did, had pushed the soul of nature out of his once striking eyes. He thought they looked dull now, matching the rest of his face, but Y/n always told him they were the prettiest she’d ever seen. He’d always flush when she said that which always elicited a poke in the ribs and a teasing comment from her.
Dream forgot how long he’d been lying there, his mind drifting in and out of sleeping until a high-pitched squeak came from the main door. He reached for his knife that held a place under the pillow and sat up, holding his knife and facing the door.
On the floor next to the door, sat an ominous black envelope. Dream chewed the inside of his lip, his heart beating rapidly with panic. How did they find them?
—
“How the fuck did they find us?” George asked, his palms sweaty as he held the letter in his hands. The gold foiling around the letters was both alluring and terrifying.
Palm Casino. Wednesday Night. 12am. Be there, or face death.
Dream had rolled his eyes when he read the letter for the first time; Schlatt was so dramatic. And although fear and doubt had set in his stomach, he didn’t let his friends know.
How did they find them? They had been careful with the robbery, getting everything they needed without leaving a trace, nothing out of place, except for—
Dream shoved his partners out of the way and leaned down to pick up the briefcase with the Chic-Fil-A gift cards. Sapnap went to interject, primarily to save his prized possession when Y/n grabbed his elbow and shook her head when he turned to her.
Dream opened it then turned it upside down, emptying the cards onto the rotting carpet.
“Dream—”
“Shut up.” He then continued to rip the velvet from the inside of the case to reveal a small box with a red flashing light. Sapnap stopped his wriggling and stood staring at the device.
“This is your fault, you dipshit.”
Sapnap was silent. Y/n softened her grip to rub his elbow comfortingly instead, the action making Dream narrow his gaze. The girl rolled her eyes and spoke up, “How was he supposed to know it was in there, Dream? You can’t blame him for this at all.”
Dream shook his head and dropped his gaze to the floor before huffing and scrunching his nose in a disgusted manner.
Midnight had arrived quickly, like a thief in the dark, and the crescent moon hung high in the sky. A light breeze swept into the city, making the palm trees sway in the delicate moonlight as a black SUV pulled up to the Palm Casino.
“Okay, here we go. I want you all on your best behaviour,” Dream joked. And as his mask only hid half of his face, a lopsided grin graced his face as he popped the door open. Y/n knew that smile; it was one that was begging for chaos, but she knew it was just a deflection from his real emotions.
Walking to the entrance, Y/n reached up and placed her hand on Dream’s shoulder. “Don’t do anything stupid.”
Dream let out a laugh, “Wouldn’t dream of it, baby.”
The boys sported black on black suits with matching Rolex watches, the gold of the timepieces shining in the low light. The only differences between them being Dream’s smiley mask, Sapnap’s white bandana in his hair, and George’s white glasses upon the top of his head. Y/n, on the other hand, wore a fitting dress with gold jewellery. She would’ve worn anything else, but considering the situation, she complied.
As the waitress walked them over to the poker table, Y/n caught Dream’s hand in her own, squeezing it once before letting go. She knew he was worried and the action in itself was enough to calm Dream’s nerves for the time being, but as soon as he made eye contact with Schlatt, it all went away.
“Boys! How are we doing?” The man yelled, throwing his arms up with a smile on his face. Dream nodded once and sat down at the table, Sapnap and George following. Y/n went to sit beside Sapnap but was cut off by Schlatt who took it upon himself to police the members at said table.
“I’m sorry, gorgeous. I’m afraid this game is only for the men.” He gave her a tight-lipped smile and clasped his hands on the table. Y/n narrowed her gaze at him before rolling her eyes and moving to stand behind Dream.
Schlatt then stood and excused himself from the table, making George throw Dream a confused look before the man spoke up. He walked towards another room, guarded by velvet ropes, but not before shouting, “Let the games begin!”
—
Dream sat observing the last man in the game next to himself, ensuring he wouldn’t lose, not that he ever did. He had learnt from his father early on to read the expressions of the players around him and how to benefit from the folds and raises. People were shocked when they found out his age, bewildered that such a young man could earn numbers like that.
Dream stared narrowly at the man; his eyebrows raised as he wore a sly smirk. The man in front of him was profusely sweating, his hand reaching to grasp a tissue from his pocket as the last community card was placed down. The surrounding men groaned; their expressions irritable as the Dream Team gained another win. Dream threw the cards onto the Poker table and stood up, offering his hand to the gentleman. He reluctantly accepted then hurried out of the room, four of his acquaintances following.
Y/n watched as Dream swapped seats with Sapnap, allowing him his turn at the game. She then moved and leaned down to Dream’s ear, “This is bullshit, where’s Schlatt gone?”
Dream shook his head and shrugged quickly, “Fuck knows.”
“Let’s go, Sapnap,” A man they recognised as Fletcher spoke, sitting down in front of the young man as his buddies filed around the table to take their seats. Sapnap didn’t talk, he only glanced back at Dream who tilted his head, holding his forefinger up to indicate this would be their last round.
Once Sapnap had collected his two starting cards, the game began. Dream watched as each of the men were eliminated through folds and how they apologised to Fletcher for letting him down. The man brushed them off, telling them to “watch how it’s done”. Dream, Sapnap and George stifled a laugh as they watched the second last man fold. Behind them, Y/n grew impatient and began mumbling to herself about how ridiculous it was.
“Excuse me? Can’t you see we’re in the middle of a round? Get the fuck outta here.” Fletcher said, his voice harsh as Y/n’s eyebrows flew to her hairline. Dream went to interject before the man spoke again.
“A scotch on the rocks.” He then said.
“I’m not a waitress.” Y/n’s voice was monotone while the man waved her away. Y/n scoffed before she moved towards him. Dream’s hand flew out to catch her wrist, and Y/n rolled her eyes. As angry as Dream was, he wasn’t going to start something with Schlatt’s men before the meeting actually started. Sapnap didn’t pay any attention to the conversations around him, focusing only on winning.
Fletcher chuckled, holding his cards close to his chest, “you dumb kid”. Sapnap’s facial expression went from serious to amused, watching as the dealer placed down the final community card. Sapnap’s eyes flickered to Fletcher’s grey ones as he slammed his cards down on the table. Sapnap then reached to gather his winnings in chips, earning pats on the back from George and a gentle laugh and fist-bump from Dream.
Fletcher sat in disbelief; he was sure he would win this one. Sapnap stood up and embraced George in a hug before moving to Dream as Fletcher circled around the table.
“You cheating bastard!” Sapnap held his hands up in defence, clueless as to why this man was coming at him.
“No cheating here, Fletch, just plain luck,” He grinned, clearly not fearful of him.
“Dude just take the loss and move on, it’s not that deep,” Y/n said, catching the attention of Fletcher again.
“Not now, you whore. The men are talking,” Fletcher glowered, looking intimidatingly down at the girl.
Y/n, however, wasn’t fazed by his words, “Look, it’s not his fault that you lost. I guess you just suck at Poker.” Fletcher’s face went bright red, and Y/n swore she saw steam coming out of his ears. Her eyes widened as she took a step back slowly. George pushed her behind him despite her protests of being able to handle herself.
“Come on Fletch, there’s no need to go after an innocent woman,” Dream asserted, placing his hand on the man’s shoulder. He soon realised that his actions were a mistake as Fletcher spun around and threw his fist towards Dream’s nose. Dream’s mask had cracked slightly on impact, his green eyes widening in panic as he stumbled back slightly.
Sapnap scanned the other men around them and calculated their next moves before he ducked a punch from a redhead. George’s hands gripped under Dream’s armpits as he pulled him up, dodging fists from the older men. Dream’s eyes were watering from the unexpected hit to the nose, and he could barely see.
But what he did see was Y/n raising the metal drinks tray she found on the poker table next to them and slamming it down on the back of Fletcher’s bald head. Her eyes were wide as she stood behind his figure that was now on the floor, groaning. Her eyes met his and Dream felt his breath catch in his throat, but he couldn’t acknowledge it at the present time because there were five other guys to deal with.
Dream regained his posture and cocked his head to the right, stretching his neck before standing off to the others. The men stood with their fists raised in front of their faces and their feet apart, ready to engage. George, Sapnap and Dream were just as confused as Y/n was, who was making sure Fletcher stayed down.
“I really fucking hate you guys. Let’s get a move on with the meeting, shall we?” Y/n said lazily, she just wanted to get home.
—
Dream sat in a large black chair, the lower half of his face covered in blood, the top half covered by his stained, cracked mask. Y/n had her legs crossed, with a stern expression, glaring at Schlatt as he rounded the table to sit at his obnoxiously large desk.
Schlatt had demanded it only be Dream and Y/n in the office with him, making George and Sapnap wait outside. The two boys had angrily complained about it, but Dream assured them it would be fine, leaving them to sulk next to the heavy wooden door that led to Schlatt’s office.
“You two make a good pair, eh?” Schlatt smirked, bringing his hands to interlock in front of him on the desk. Dream glanced at Y/n, who gave him a bored look.
He then turned back to the front, “Why are we here, Schlatt?”
“Oh, not very friendly,” He laughed, earning no responses from anyone in the room except for his assistant, Quackity, who stood in the corner. “That’s Quackity by the way.”
Dream shrugged, uninterested with the introduction of his assistant and remained still until Schlatt continued.
“Now, tell me where the money is, Dream.” There it was—the literal million-dollar question.
The masked blonde didn’t react. Y/n cast her eyes towards him, seeing nothing but the white mask that covered his face. The smile on the front was a harsh contrast to the anger Dream felt. And when Schlatt huffed and wiggled his fingers at Quackity, then Dream perked up.
Suddenly, Y/n wrists were being grabbed by Quackity, who had crossed the room in seconds. Dream immediately stood, only to be pushed back by Schlatt who had moved in front of him.
Y/n opened her mouth object when Quackity whacked his free hand over her mouth. She let out a whimper at the smack, tears welling in her eyes in shock. Nonetheless, she continued to struggle against his harsh grip on her wrists. Y/n’s breathing became heavier, her thoughts clouded with fear of the unknown; what would Schlatt want with her?
Quackity dragged the girl from the large chair towards the other side of the room, where another door lay, but he didn’t take her in yet. Dream’s gaze was locked on Y/n, everything else slipping away as he watched her thrash against her captor.
“Let’s call it leverage?” Schlatt’s haunting voice echoed through the room, and he had an evil gleam in his eye. “You tell me where you hid the money, and I’ll let her go.”
Dream’s head was on a swivel when he turned back to face Schlatt. Panic blossomed in his stomach; if he gave up the money, they’d all be dead. And as hard of a decision as it was, Dream knew what to do—he had his full faith in Y/n. He remembered what she had told him when they first started working together and drew in a breath. He nodded at Y/n once, receiving a pleading look in reply, and sighed.
“Give ‘em hell, baby.”
—
“Are you out of your fuckin’ mind?” Sapnap spat as the three men got back into the SUV outside of the casino. George shook his head in the backseat, scoffing as Dream ignored their questions.
Meanwhile, Dream drove in complete fury. He knew what he did was wrong and stupid, but Y/n once demanded he let her go if she was ever held for ransom. It was an odd request at the time. And this was an irrational move that could get her killed, but he had no choice—it was her or the whole operation, and Dream was loyal.
“Hello? You fuckin’—”
“Sapnap.”
The youngest froze at Dream’s tone and sunk into his seat, choosing to look out of the window than at him. He flexed his hand against the steering wheel, refusing to meet their gazes.
“Y/n asked me before any of this started, that if she were to ever be held hostage, for ransom, whatever, to trust her and let them take her. I don’t know why I never asked her why, but we have to trust her, and you have to trust me for making this decision.”
“Call Techno and tell him that Schlatt’s taken one of us for ransom.” Dream said to no one in particular. Sapnap scrambled to get his phone from his pocket and dial their boss’ number, but not before turning and facing Dream from the passenger’s seat.
“I—we trust you, Dream. And we’ll be with you till the end, okay?” Sapnap mumbled, gesturing to George in the backseat.
“She’ll be fine.” Dream had a hard time believing George, “We know Y/n, she’s a strong girl—a whole lot stronger than us—she’ll get through it.”
The piercing sound of metal against metal made Y/n cringe, distracting her from the burning of the new rope bound around her wrists. Quackity’s heavy breathing almost made her laugh, they hadn’t even walked for that long.
He didn’t say anything to Y/n when he guided her inside a cell. She furrowed her eyebrows as she looked around the dirty space, scrunching her nose in disgust as she noticed the damp walls and the stray cockroach that scurried across the floor.
“I’m sorry about the state of this, we don’t have visitors often,” Quackity said, exhaling a scoff he let go of her arms. Y/n’s face dropped when she felt the rope loosen and fall off her wrists. She remained still as Quackity rummaged around behind her.
The screech of the cell door closing startled Y/n—she thought she’d have more time to fight back. She heard Quackity shuffle away from the cell, and shortly after, the sound of dress shoes tapping on the concrete floor caught her attention.
Y/n slowly turned around when someone cleared their throat behind her. She rolled her eyes as she came face to face with Schlatt. He stood with his hands behind his back in his usual arrogant suit and his deep red tie.
“Do you know why my tie is this red?” He asked, his head tilted to the side with a patronising smirk. It was an odd question, but Y/n could already guess the answer, she just didn’t want to hear it when she was this vulnerable.
Schlatt leaned down and closer to the cell, his face fitting perfectly between the bars as his eyes glared into Y/n’s.
“It’s so you can’t see the bloodstains.” He winked before sanding to his full height, his mood shifting entirely, “Anyways, I’m gonna keep this short. Get comfortable, Princess, you’ll be here awhile knowing Dream and his goons.”
With a clap of his hands and a small chuckle, Schlatt left, his shoes clacking down the hallway and into the elevator at the end of the hallway. The machine dinged and then it was gone, leaving Y/n in a deafening silence.
She sank to her knees, crestfallen, onto the concrete beneath her, still in her tight dress. As strong-minded as Y/n was, she couldn’t bring herself to give a witty remark. She was absolutely defeated. She knew Dream would get her out, eventually, but at what cost? Would Dream let everything the Dream Team has worked for in the past 3 years go to waste? For her?
She didn’t let herself cry as she picked herself up, and hesitantly sat on the cot in the corner of the cell. Her dress was uncomfortable, and the feeling of satin against her skin irritated her immensely.
Y/n had no idea how far underground she was; she sat in complete darkness and utter silence, nothing but the ringing of her ears and her screaming thoughts to keep her company.
—
Dream paced the small space, tearing at his hair roots with his fists, his face red with panic and anger. He was so in his head; he couldn’t hear his two friends calling his name from 3 feet away. The thought of Y/n alone with Schlatt made him so infuriated he could punch a hole through the brick wall next to him. The ringing in his ears was deafening, and the stinging of his nails digging into his palms was numbing.
Sapnap threw George a concerned glance, his brown eyes pleading George to do something to stop Dream from falling further into an endless loop of guilt and despair.
“Dream!” The sound of George calling him in that tone caused him to pause his pacing. He turned to look at his English friend with wide eyes, his eyebrows raised in surprise.
“You need to stop! Y/n wouldn’t want you having an existential crisis over her, she’d want you to hurry up and figure out a plan to get her back.”
Dream stood frozen for a moment; what would Y/n want? It was like a switch flipped inside Dream when he stood up straight, sending him into autopilot. All emotion wiped was from his face, leaving his eyes vacant and face blank. And as much as George hated to admit it, this cold version of his best friend knew what to do and how to do it efficiently. The sudden change shocked Sapnap slightly, leaving him frightened as he grabbed onto George’s sleeve.
“Ok boys, let’s get to work.”
Emotion is a weakness, and they sure did not need that right now.
Y/n had been suffering in the same tight dress and uncomfortable heels for a week; Schlatt’s lack of humanity and human decency (as well as kidnapping her in the first place), had put him in Y/n’s bad books.
The only human interaction she had was Quackity bringing her meals twice a day and the small conversations they would have as she ate. He didn’t talk about his work much, only hinting at his eventual betrayal and escape from Schlatt. Although, he continually spoke of his family to her, telling Y/n that he was there against his will and was threatened with death if he left. She felt sympathy for the boy, he was so young.
When Alex, as she now calls him, left her, Y/n was back with her mind. She had remained seemingly sane despite being in solitary confinement but was going insane without Dream. Every time she closed her eyes, she saw his emerald ones gleaming at her through the darkness, their vibrance giving her shivers.
She missed his touch: his cold hands in her’s, their knees brushing slightly when sitting on the motel bed, his hand on her thigh in the car, despite complaints from the boys. She cared deeply for him, and she knew he did too, but they were both too scared of rejection to get together. Sapnap always teased them for being ‘pussies’, and George would roll his eyes whenever they would flush at their closeness—god, she missed them too.
Biting her lip, Y/n tried her best to prevent tears from falling down her cheeks. But she hadn’t let them fall since being held ransom, fearing she would be seen as weak by Schlatt, and even Alex. The burning at the back of her throat was fiery as she let them out. She struggled to breathe, clawing at her throat when she felt her lungs tighten. Y/n tried to sit upright to calm herself down, but her pained cries filled the cold, concrete basement and rattled the cell bars. She sobbed for hours, only falling asleep when the last ones dried.
—
As Dream put the car in park, he turned to face George in the passenger’s seat.
“You ready?” He asked. George exhaled and nodded, “Let’s get her back.”
Dream smirked. His attitude had flipped entirely from last week, leaving him cocky and ready to fight the world. However, George saw through his best friend’s act. He heard Dream’s choked and ragged cries in the bathroom at 4 am, and noticed his red, puffy eyes at 7 am when they woke up. He saw the way his hands shook every time he drove, and he caught onto Dream’s routine of not eating until Sapnap would force him away from the table with the plans spread across it.
George was concerned for his best friend, and Dream was oblivious. But despite everything, George knew he was determined to get Y/n back, above all else. Her life came before his own, and that scared George to his core, how far would Dream go to save Y/n?
“Ok, Geor—” The piercing screams of fire alarms made Dream jump as they echoed down the street. The two boys shared a surprised look before they hopped out of the SUV. They jogged down the road towards the Palm Casino with black duffle bags on their shoulders.
Flames rose as high as the sky and embers rained on Dream and George as they ran through the smoke to the entrance. Employees darted out of the main doors, crashing into the boys as they continued to the central control room of the casino. George heaved the heavy door open before closing it firmly behind them. They dropped the bags and began drinking in the clean air as they set their eyes on Sapnap who sat behind a desk with his feet up on the table.
“Well, boys, how did I do?” He said, arms out as he cocked his eyebrow up. George laughed in disbelief, “I can’t believe that worked.”
Sapnap shook his head quickly, “You had no faith in me, did you?” He threw his hand on his chest and stood up from his spot.
“Sap, you did great!” Dream exclaimed, walking over to slap the boy on the back. Sapnap’s pained expression turned into a smile as he watched George do the same.
“Ok then, where’s the security office?”
—
“I can’t fit my fat ass through there, Sapnap.” Dream’s jaw dropped as he measured the gap with his hands, “There’s just no way!”
George rolled his eyes and pushed Dream towards the duct, “Just go! Do you want Y/n back or not?” Dream’s face scrunched up, much like a child when having a tantrum, and whined.
“Why don’t you just go? I simply just cannot fit! Here, you wanna see?” George and Sapnap nodded, amused looks on their faces as they watched him dive headfirst into the air duct.
His body slipped in in such an elegant way that it made them burst out laughing. Dream, who couldn’t see his friends, exhaled deeply before he began crawling along. His movements heightened their laughter, seeing him wiggle through, but it only made Dream more determined to pursue the journey.
“Oh yeah, you have such a fat ass, Dream! Throw it back for me, baddie!” Sapnap yelled after him, his giggles interrupting the sentence a few times.
George and Sapnap’s antics were long gone, and all Dream could hear was the squeaking of an elevator and the creaking of the metal beneath him. He had memorised the layout of the ducts in his head and decided that this was the spot to drop down into.
The first basement looked usual, with a boiler in the corner and some filing cabinets lining the walls. Dream dropped from the ceiling with no sound, moving silently towards the elevator in the opposing corner of the large room. The sound of shoes slapping the hard ground paused Dream’s movements before he moved quickly behind a cabinet.
“—He said not to go down there, Tubbo. What do you think he’s hiding?”
Dream furrowed his eyebrows, were those kids? He adjusted his mark slightly before he peeked around the corner of the filing cabinet. Sure enough, Dream saw two teenage boys, one significantly taller than the other. But nonetheless, they were definitely very young. Why did Schlatt hire two British kids to guard his secret underground prison? Dream shook his head, glancing down at the floor as he crept out of his hiding spot.
“Oi!” He heard. Dream looked up, seeing the taller boy stalk towards him. The blonde boy stopped in his tracks, his eyes widening as he looked back at the other boy.
“Tubbo, do you know who this is?” The blonde asked in disbelief. The shorter one nodded, his expression lifting at the sight of Dream. Their jaws dropped as Dream exhaled deeply.
“Dream? As in the Dream Team? As in Techno Industries?” Dream rolled his eyes behind his mask. He didn’t respond as the two boys inched closer to him.
“Listen, I’ll give you a few bucks if you don’t mention this to Schlatt, got it?” Dream growled, shoving his hand in his pocket and pulling out a few hundred-dollar bills. The boys’ eyes shone, the shorter one reaching forward to accept the bribe before the blonde pushed him back.
“That’s all? I was expecting at least a grand each from THE Dream.” He smirked. Dream remained expressionless and went to decline before the blonde continued. “It’s a grand each or I tell Schlatt you were snooping around his casino.”
Dream shook his head and pulled another $600 from his pocket and shoved it into their hands, “Now shut the fuck up, or I’ll do it myself.”
The taller one went to reply, but the other one pulled on his sleeve and shook his head. He rolled his eyes and mumbled a string of curse words before turning and stomping away. The other boy muttered a quick ‘thank you’ with a small smile on his face and hurried off in the direction of the staircase that went up to the casino’s main floor. Dream guessed that the fire had been taken care of by the way they fled carelessly up the stairs.
Dream sighed and trod over to the elevator. He pressed the arrow to go down and groaned when the scanner next to it blinked red.
He scrunched up his face when he glanced back towards the air duct. The only other option was to try and get down the air duct and into the rafters in the basement below.
Dream had the urge to throw a temper tantrum at Sapnap’s shitty planning. He pulled himself back up into the duct and crawled towards the wall where the elevator was. Reaching a sharp drop, Dream looked over the edge, his eyes widening at the height. He grunted as he positioned himself above the fall; all he had to do was slide down.
He could hardly see the bottom, but he knew if he slid down as planned, he would go straight through. So, instead, Dream slowly moved his arms and legs into the small space and gradually let himself down, inching closer to the bottom with every move.
Sweat dripped down his temple, and his muscles ached as he went, his palms becoming slippery against the smooth and thin metal. He held his breath as he reached the bottom, scared any sound he made would attract unwanted attention from whoever could be in the vicinity.
He let out a quiet, steady breath, and he returned to his hands and knees in the horizontal air duct. His original plan was irrelevant, so he didn’t know the map of the air ducts in the second basement, leaving him guessing.
Once he thought the spot was right, he harshly pushed on a panel of the duct below him, hearing it clatter on the concrete as it hit the ground. He cringed at the sound and slowly lowered himself onto the beams that were directly below him. How convenient.
The sharp sound of the panel dropping had caught the attention of several guards. On this level, there were actual security guards with weapons and not lippy teenagers. Dream made eye contact with one of them, scolding himself when the man scrambled for his walkie talkie as he spotted Dream on the beams above.
Dream rolled his eyes and dropped from the ceiling, crouching as he landed before standing up. He brought his pointer finger to his lips before bringing his fist to his neck and dragging his thumb across the skin. The action itself made the security guard’s eyes widen and freeze his movements. Dream’s sadistic smile and seemingly wild nature made the guard move backwards into the wall as he passed.
He went around another corner and was met with an entirely different area he wasn’t expecting. But, Dream was sure he was going to succeed in finding Y/n and escaping as soon as possible. And of course, the echo of a sinister whistle made him freeze. Fuck.
“Dream! Hey, buddy, how’s it going?” As Schlatt rounded the corner, a smirk spread across his smug face, Dream squeezed his eyes shut.
“A little friend of mine told me you were here! Just thought I’d come and say hi,” He chuckled as Dream cracked his knuckles. Damn kids.
“Schlatt, where’s Y/n?” Dream demanded, cracking his neck when he jerked his head to the side.
“Now, that’s not a nice way to greet a friend, is it, Dream?”
Dream’s eyes widened behind his mask. He stood stunned, no words coming from his mouth.
“Dream, she’s not yours. She never has been. So why do you think you have to save her?” Dream’s expression remained the same as Schlatt continued, “You’re too pussy to even ask her out, let alone be her boyfriend.” It was a ridiculous argument, Schlatt knew that, but he was positive he was going to get a rise out of Dream this way.
He sneered at Dream’s silence, the deep rumble of his cackle rattling Dream’s bones. Suddenly, a scream added to the ominous atmosphere that Schlatt had created, and Dream jumped into action, launching himself at the older man.
“Where is she?” His voice became raspy as he threw a punch at Schlatt’s temple. Schlatt growled at the attempt and hurled his arm back at Dream. He dodged it, barely, but stepped back and rushed towards the cell Y/n was in.
“Y/n?” He shouted, ducking and searching for the girl through the bars of the numerous cells that lined the basement.
“Here.”
The sound of her broken voice snapped Dream into action. Sprinting down the hallway, he was met with Y/n’s grubby and exhausted body. His heart broke at the sight of her, and he gripped the bars, pulling and pushing them in an attempt to break them.
Dream was so caught up in getting Y/n out, he didn’t notice Schlatt coming from his left.
The impact of a fist colliding with his temple sent Dream stumbling to the right, his mask cracking slightly in the corner at the force. He grunted in pain before spinning to meet Schlatt again, who had his arm raised in its previous position. Dream tried to shake his head from his dazed state, the unexpected hit stunning his consciousness.
Schlatt aimed once again and swung his fist to hit Dream in the face. But, Dream saw it coming and swivelled to the left to dodge the incoming punch. Schlatt let out a guttural sound, growing frustrated with his miss. The hit to his temple left Dream seeing stars; however, he managed to duck and strike Schlatt in his stomach, earning a deep groan. The older man recovered quickly, picking himself back up to his full height as he mumbled, “bastard.”
Dream was losing shamefully, lazily avoiding punches and swaying lightly as Schlatt grinned at his anticipated win.
Whilst Dream stumbled slightly, Schlatt snickered, his fist coming across to hit him again. This time, the punch followed through and cracked his ceramic mask fully, the object dropping to the ground and shattering on impact. Schlatt barked out a laugh as he watched the pieces scatter.
“And here we have, the real Dream! You know, you’re not what I expected. Definitely uglier.” He cackled, doubling over in laughter as Dream watched. He blinked and was void of any emotion as Schlatt stood back up.
“What? Can’t take a joke?” Dream clenched his jaw, and he lunged forwards, his hands coming to grip onto Schlatt’s shoulders and bringing his knee up to jab him in his stomach. He groaned out in pain as he doubled over, yet again, but this time not in joy.
The back of Dream’s belt that held his handgun was screaming at him. So, reaching behind him, Dream revealed his firearm. The weapon had wiped Schlatt’s smug look off of his face, replacing it with one of fear. His expression mocked Dream, although he didn’t catch onto Schlatt’s taunting.
“Dream, listen, buddy—”
“Shut the fuck up, Schlatt.”
But, Dream’s face contorted to something of confusion and horror when Schlatt started chuckling. He pulled the side of his suit jacket to the side to reveal a similar Glock, making Dream freeze his once confident motions.
“You see, I’m always 3 steps ahead of you, Dream,” Schlatt tormented, pulling the gun from its secure place in his jacket.
“You’re fucked now.” Dream went to lunge at him again, but Schlatt stepped to the side and pushed him down.
Dream’s gun went sliding across the polished concrete and out of his reach. The blonde swore as he saw Schlatt stumbling towards his fallen body. He lifted himself off of the ground, panting heavily as he ducked another punch from the older man. Dream stepped back, balancing his weight on his right foot, and threw his fist out towards Schlatt’s cheek. The punch landed, and Schlatt staggered backwards slightly, blood dripping from his lips as he grinned.
“I see how it’s gonna be,” He lifted his arm and aimed the gun towards Y/n, who stood in the cell behind him. Dream leaned to the side to catch Y/n’s pained gaze.
“Please,” Dream’s strained voice was barely audible through Schlatt’s booming psychotic laughter. Clenching his fists, Dream glared at him, “Don’t do this, Schlatt.”
“Oh, Dream, I could do this all day!—” A flat crack bounced off the concrete room and was soon followed by a heavy thud. Dream swallowed in shock as he watched deep red blood spill across the floor, oozing out of the fresh wound. He was frozen in his spot as he watched the body twitch and then loll, unmoving.
“Dream?” Dream’s eyes flickered from Schlatt’s body to Y/n, who stood with his gun loosely in her hand.
“Y/n?” His voice was weak as he struggled to stand. The clatter of the gun dropping on the hard surface didn’t come close to silence the thoughts running through his head.
“Hey, hey, hey, I’m okay, I’m here. Dream?” Y/n cried, wrapping her arms around Dream’s stiff body. His hand came up to feel the wetness on his cheeks, and he pulled it away, seeing red smeared on his fingers.
“He’s gone?” He whispered, earning a nod from Y/n, “It’s okay.”
“No, I know. It just shocked me, that’s all. I thought he killed you.”
Y/n sighed, tightening her grip on him, pressing her face into his shoulder, “I’m right here, see. I’m not hurt, I’m fine, with you.”
Dream turned his head towards her, an unsure expression on his face as he threw his arms around her.
“Fuck, I thought—”
“Dream. Deep breaths.” He nodded, following Y/n’s motions in breathing evenly.
“Jesus, usually you’re the one helping me calm down from something like this,” Y/n giggled, her hand coming to run her fingers through his hair, not minding the dampness of drying blood. A smile broke out on Dream’s face before he noticed Y/n’s eyes widen and her head fly to the side to search for something.
“What’s wrong?” Dream asked, seeing Y/n’s eyebrows crease, “Your mask.” She whispered, spotting the shattered ceramic feet away from where they sat.
Dream breathed out a laugh, bringing her face back towards his, “My mask is the least of my worries right now.”
“I’ll buy you a new one tomorrow.”
“Of course, you will.”
“Y/n!” Sapnap yelled, running towards the girl as she pushed open the security office door. Y/n locked her arms around Sapnap’s shoulders as they embraced, the pair giggling in disbelief.
“How have you guys not been kicked out yet? The fire’s out.” Dream said, closing the door behind them. George shrugged, “Paid ‘em off.” Dream snorted in response.
When Y/n pulled away from Spanap, she hugged George, who was eagerly waiting behind them.
“Don’t do that ever again. You left me with two dumbasses for so long,” George mumbled. Y/n felt tears fill her eyes as she squeezed George tighter, “I missed you guys so much.”
And after a teary reunion, the group sat around the desk in the middle of the room.
“Where’s the big man himself?” Sapnap nervously laughed, dread ate at his conscience at the thought of Schlatt coming after them again.
“Schlatt’s dead.” The news had George raising his eyebrows and pushing his head forward, “Huh? Sorry? What?”
“He’s dead, Y/n killed him.” Dream stated, earning a small smile from Sapnap that Y/n laughed at. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to laugh. Sapnap’s reaction made me giggle.”
The group shared a collective rumble of laughter before Dream suggested they went back to the motel.
“Hey,” Dream whispered at Y/n when she passed him, gently grasping her elbow. “You guys go ahead, I just need to speak with Y/n,” He continued, waving the boys in the direction of the car. George and Sapnap shared a knowing look and tried their best to conceal their cheeky smiles.
“What’s up with them?” Y/n asked, throwing her thumb over her shoulder at the boys. Dream shook his head slightly, “No clue.”
“Anyway, I just wanted to ask how you are. You know, after everything.”
Y/n nodded, “I’m okay, I think. I don’t think anything’s really hit me yet.” Dream sighed in response.
Y/n sucked her lips between her teeth, throwing her arms around Dream’s neck in a hug. He smiled softly, wrapping his arms around her waist.
“Thank you,” She whispered in his ear, her voice cracking with emotion. Dream’s heart clenched at the sound and tightened his grip around her.
“You don’t have to thank me, baby. I’d go to the ends of the earth for you, you know that,” He murmured, hiding his reddening face in her neck. He flushed, even more, when he felt her lips against his neck, “I love you, so much, Dream.”
Dream’s heart skipped a beat before he pulled his head from her neck. His green eyes looked into hers, the closeness of them making Y/n inhale sharply.
“And I love you. Don’t forget that, okay?” He replied, his voice low. Y/n nodded shortly, inching her lips up to his.
“Kiss me.” She muttered, nudging his nose with hers. Dream laughed breathy before leaning down and brushing his lips against hers.
Their bodies had become flushed against one another, her hips against his as they shared a heated kiss. Dream pulled away first, his cheeks pink and his lips plump. Y/n whined silently, bouncing in her heels at the loss of his lips.
Dream smiled widely at her, “I guess I want you more than I thought I did.” Y/n gasped, taking her hand from his neck to slap his chest, giggling like a schoolgirl at his teasing.
“Shut up, you’ve wanted me since you met me,” She said to which Dream nodded.
“You got that right, baby.”
Feedback is greatly appreciated, always xoxo

↩︎ back to student masterlist | main mha masterlist
- WELCOME TO PART THREE sorry for the log wait 😭 life has been kicking my ass but we're not here to hear me complain, we're here for the tea
- so, it's a couple months after you joined the bakusquad and their relationship. and let me tell you, it has been nothing but amazing. 😩 your days are never quiet and they're always filled with some sort of excitement and love.
- you kaminari and mina often get into trouble for leaving the dorms late at night because you want snacks and there's nothing in the kitchens. you become kirishima's pillow, don't matter about your size or whatever, you are his pillow and you better not argue 🔫 sero always puts on some type of bachata or reggaeton or some spanish song and dances with you in his dorms. and bakugo is your go to person to cook with and just generally annoy or prank since it's so easy to get a reaction out of him.
- and you couldn't have asked for a better relationship. you all are so communicative and talk about your feelings often and how you're doing. every saturday or sunday, you all go to a dorm (usually it's bakugo's cause it's the cleanest) and have a huge cuddle pile and talk about your mental states, how you're doing, what you have problems with, etc etc.
- like damn ok i see you with the mentally and emotionally stable relationship 🤪🤪
- it's so refreshing too because sometimes you'll have a tough week and you jsut need to let it all out, and you can in the comfort of bakugo's dorm and you know none of them will judge you because they're all so open about their love for you (and vise versa)
- anyways, yeah y'all got the best relationship
- you never thought about anyone else in a romantic sense because the squad took up nearly all of the space in your heart. but when you teacher announced one day the general studies kids would be coming in to have a joint project to create gadgets for the hero course students, you had no idea your life would suddenly be turned upsidedown.
- you were paired with a guy named shinsou. he looked friendly enough and returned the wave you sent him with a little surprise as he made his way to the open seat next to you. he seemed surprised when you started a small conversation but he talked to you in a quiet soothing voice. he seemed nice enough and you figured the project would be a breeze since he seemed so nice and offered to meet up over the weekend to start up some ideas for the project.
- you agreed and the two of you met up that lunch period in the library to pre-draft some ideas and get to know each other more.
"i'm surprised you don't mind being seen with me."
his sudden comment took you by surprise as you looked up from your paper with messily drawn gadgets and chicken scratch writing to look up at him, "what do you mean?"
it was true you had never seen him before or even heard of him, but his hesitance to talk to you and open up to you made you feel as though you should.
shinsou rubbed the back of his neck and looked away shyly, "so you really haven't heard anything about me, have you?"
he looked almost guilty to bring it up, his gaze falling to the table in front of him as be played with a strand of his hair.
you shook your head. you never really payed attention to gossip around school, your head always too high up in the clouds to care about rumors and gossip (bakugo often scolded you for being such an airhead and ignorant to your surroundings, but you knew he was just worried about something happening to you). plus, to you, gossip was nearly never right and more often made up and fictitious.
shinsou refused to look up at you, "well. . .i'm known throughout the school as a. . ." he looked hesitant to continue but before you could reassure him he didn't have to talk about it if he didn't want to, he continued, "well, a villain."
he prised his lips as if the words left a bitter taste in his mouth, and all you could do was tilt your head. shinsou didn't seem like a bad person - or a 'villain' as he had said. on the way to the library he held open doors for you and helped you carry some of your books to your locker and even bought you a drink you wanted buy but were a bit short of change on.
"do you think you are?"
"what?" shinsou looked at you for the first time since he brought up the topic.
"do you think you're a villain?" he shuffled slightly in his seat and looked away again from your intense stare. he felt like you were looking straight into his soul from how strongly you were looking into his eyes, he wasn't sure if you had even blinked in the last minute.
shinsou thought back to all the times he's been called a villain or a criminal. it was always unwarranted, a passing comment that seemed like no big deal to others but shattered his heart into smaller and smaller pieces. but never once had he ever thought he was a villain - a monster.
if anything, he used those comments as encouragement to become a hero, to be better than those who always thought he would turn to a life of crime. so, "no... i don't think i'm a villain."
"well, that's that."
shinsou could only stare at you, your smile brighter than any star he'd ever seen, so full of hope and encouragement shinsou felt like he could take on the world. he looked away and rubbed the back of his neck, a shy smile pulling at his lips and a weird feeling blossoming in his chest. how curious. . .
- so yeah, a new friendship 🤪 the two of you started to spend a lot of free time together for the project. you would often meet up during lunches or free time between classes to work some more on the project, all the while getting to know each other in depth. you learned many things about shinsou and spilled many of your own secrets, you laughed together over old childhood stories, and played animal crossing on the rooftop during lunch, your project discarded and forgotten beside you.
- your sudden absence didn't go unnoticed by your lovers, and they grew curious to your whereabouts when you would blow them off for the fifth time that week to "work on your project". now, don't get me wrong, they had conplete trust in you and knew you would never cheat, but they were just curious as to what - or who - was taking up so much of your time.
- so, they did the smartest thing, and followed you. after blowing them off for the sixth time, they decided to follow you to your destination. mina and kaminari tried to be inconspicuous and wear disguises, but the fake mustache, black glasses (indoors, might i add) and hat weren't all too discreet as they thought.
- they followed you through every turn and weave you took and hid behind a corner when you stopped at a vending machine to get your favourite drink. but what surprised them the most was you also bought a coffee. bakugo was most surprised you even thought about even touching the can of caffine because he remembered you telling him you would get terrible caffine rushes that would make you dizzy if you drank coffee.
- but, as you finally reached the rooftop and made your way to a hunched over figure in the corner, it all made sense.
- they all saw how effortlessly you and shinsou acted around each other. they could see the soft looks he would send you when you weren't looking and the way his hand would hover over yours for a split second too long before snapping away as if you were made of lava. but surprisingly, they didn't feel any sort of jealousy or anger, it felt like a piece of them had returned they didn't even know was missing. the sort of feeling that walks through the door unexpectedly but it's wholesomely welcomed.
- the "oh, there you are, welcome back" type of feeling. they were happy you had found someone that made you feel comfortable, arguably more comfortable than you had been with them so far because truthfully, while you had felt welcomed and appreciated in the relationship, it still felt like you were an outsider. the five of them had inside jokes before you came and didn't get them when they came up, the five of them had habits special to each other that inadvertently excluded you. and while they never meant to hurt you (god knows that's the last thing they ever wanted to do), they had. but you knew that wasn't their intention so you held no malitious feelings towards them (not that you think you'd ever could).
- but the way you and shinsou so effortlessly opened up to each other, shared intimate details and secrets with each other - it warmed their hearts. so, bakugo grabbed them all by the back of their shirts and dragged them away, mumbling about giving the two of you space. there was a fond look in his eyes as he looked at the two of you he would be teased about later but would deny.
- it was undeniable bakugo held the softest spot for you. he tried as best as he could to include you in their inside jokes and habits but he was. . well . . . bakugo 🧍🏽♀️
- words aren't necessarily his strong suit and he could only hope his smaller actions let you know you were as loved and cherished as any of them there. and you knew, you caught on a little after bakugo had a little "secret talk" with the group (that wasn't really secret at all, he grabbed them all by their shirts and dragged them to a secluded spot while you distracted on your phone) and they all started to explain their jokes and include you in their habits.
- anyways, back to you and shinsou. 🤪 he was aware you were in a ployamorous relationship with the bakusquad and he's heard the way you talk about them and the soft airy tone of your voice and the starry look in your eyes; and he didn't want to get in between that. the last thing he ever wanted was to ruin your relationship for his own selfish reasons.
- so for the time being, he would be okay with watching you from afar, the sweetness of your love so close for him to taste; yet too far for him to savour.
- as more and more times passed, the bakusquad began to notice the lingering looks you would give shinsou when you passed him in the halls and how he would always be waiting for you outside of your class with your favourite drink before leaving you to go to lunch while he went off and . . . well, you weren't sure what he did during his free time, but he never brought it up so you never figured to ask.
- when you fell asleep the next time you all had a cuddle session in bakugo's room, they all talked about it. talked about your obvious feelings for each other and the possibility of including shinsou in their relationship. they spent hours talking about it and still talked about it even when the moon vanished over the horizon and the sun rose. and, in not very smart fashion, bakugo was tasked to confronting shinsou about their conclusion.
- which - almost as if there were an author behind all of this - didn't go as well as any of them planned.
it was perfect, really. almost as if the universe had been listening to their conversation and aligned itself perfectly for this very moment.
you woke up that morning with a terrible stomach ache and chose to stay back in your dorm after bakugo made you a bowl of soup and threatened you to take your medicine. his classes ended a little earlier than usual and, sending his lover's a nod, made his way over to your class, where, lo and behold, shinsou was standing near the door, the familiar brand of your favourite drink in one hand and his own cold coffee in the other.
bakugo wasn't sure what he was going to say when he reached shinsou. he opted to just speak from the heart over rehearsing lines with the others like they had wanted, besides, what kind of lover would be be if he couldn't even do this for you? but, what he didn't take into consideration, was his emotional constipation and tsundere attidute.
"hey, eye bags!" bakugo called out.
shinsou nearly jumped out of his skin at bakugo's sudden loud voice. he looked over with the same eyes of indifference he normally had, but bakugo could see the slight far in them. not at his brash attitude (shinsou could never be afriad of bakugo and confronting him before the sports fesitval was a perfect example of that) but the fear of ruining your relationship with the bakusquad.
shinsou nodded at bakugo when he got close enough. bakugo stood in front of him, his hands still shoved into the pockets of his pants, "they're sick."
it was a simple enough statement but shinsou blinked, "what?"
"y/n." bakugo stated and rolled his eyes as if the answer had been written on his forehead (and it basically had, shinsou was just a bit shocked at his appearance), "they're sick and mina's staying back with them in their dorm."
shinsou rubbed the back of his neck, "oh."
there was an awkward silence as the two boys stood in the vacant hallway. bakugo didn't know what to say and shinsou wasn't sure if he should leave or go visit you for their lunch break.
"i'll go drop this off to them-"
"no." bakugo practically growled, "i'll drop it off. go get eat your lunch or i'll make your face an eye bag."
shinsou flushed a bit in embarrassment. he was overstepping, of course he was. for a minute, having you all to himself for nearly a week straight made him forget about the relationship you were in and this was a smack of reality. you weren't his. you were in a relationship with others, other people who could give you nearly double what he could - everything he couldn't.
handing bakugo the drink, shinsou stalked away to the cafeteria, his cheeks still a light shade of pink. bakugo sighed and knew he most likely made things worse, and he came there originally to make things right.
but fate will work itself out. and what will be, will be.
- so... maybe sending bakugo wasn't the best idea ... 🧍🏽♀️
- because now, shinsou started avoiding you. when the two for you worked on your projects together, he would remain mostly silent and only input his opinion when he thought of an idea or needed help putting something together. you had no idea why and you honestly felt a little hurt that he ignored you as easily as breathing.
- you brought this up to your lovers on your weekly cuddle session, knowing they would have brought up your downpour attitude either way. what you didn't notice as your face was burried in denki's sweater were the glares they all were throwing at bakugo.
- "yeah, i wonder what happened..." sero smiled, though obviously strained, as he pet your head and told you shinsou was probably just going through something.
- and it was obvious you were hurt that shinsou had suddenly stopped talking to you because honestly it was kind of hard for you to make friends. a lot of people assumed you thought you were higher than everyone else because you were dating five students from the top hero course, but that obviously is far from the truth.
- anyways, a long time goes by and the two of you still haven't rekindled anything and the squad is getting a bit frustrated because hello??? join our cult lover circle ?????
- so the squad comes up with another solution and this time they don't send bakugo to collect shinsou
- they learned their mistake last time.
- anyways
- so sero goes and gets shinsou and tells him you need him for a little last touch of the project since it was near the due date and you wanted to make sure it was perfect. and shinsou agrees to meet up with you and follows sero.
- sero takes him into an empty classroom and it's pitch black. the windows have been covered with tape and all the lights are off. before he could ask what the hell was going on, the door slams shut and the lights suddenly turn on and shinsou's blinded for a moment.
- and he's met with a very interesting sight.
- mina, kaminari, and kirishima are standing in front of him with sunglasses and hats on, their arms are crossed and they have a blank look on their faces (though he can tell kaminari is about to burst into laughter and nearly does but kirishima jabs him in his side.)
- "uhh..."
- "shut up, eye bags." bakugo calls from behind him. he's leaning against the door with his arms crossed and an obviously pissed off look on his face.
- sero is just standing next to him with a 'sorry pal' kind of smile.
- "what is-"
- "what are your intentions with, y/n?" kaminari shouted suddenly as he slammed his hand on a nearby desk.
- "denki- no." mina pushed him back lightly, "that's not what-"
- "did you not listen last night, sparky?" bakugo rolled his eyes and scoffed lightly.
- kaminari shyly scratched his cheek, "i might have fellen asleep-"
- "he did." sero confirmed, "he drooled on me and everything.
- "I do not drool!!"
- "yes you do, it was like a waterfall, 'ki. "
- "no i don't, right kiri?"
- "well.. only a few drops.."
- "WHAT?! and none of you told me?!"
- "well, y/n kind of made us promise not to tell..."
- "SPEAKING OF Y/N," mina interjected into the conversation, her fingers rubbing at her temples as she wondered when she became the rational one, that was bakugo's job, "why don't we stick to the script, boys."
- kirishima slung an arm over her shoulder and pressed a kiss to her cheek, "sorry, princess."
- "right." sero turned to shinsou and crossed his arms, "you have feelings for them don't you?"
- shinsou tensed. his mind was still trying to comprehend the conversation that happened just a few seconds ago and processing the fact that kaminari drools in his sleep. he wasn't sure how to respond.
- of course he had feelings for you, any rational person who came into contact with you would catch feelings. it was part of your natural charm that seemed to effortlessly draw people in and never let them go. in a matter of minutes, you had simultaneously become his best friend and his closest confidant. often at night he cursed himself for catching feelings for you when things were perfect just the way they were.
- but shinsou couldn't help it. you had treated him like a normal person and weren't apprehensive about his quirk. you gave him a taste of normalcy in his world of anxieties and judgement, and he craved more and more the more time he spent with you.
- so dispte wanting to desparately scream 'yes, i do love her' at the top of his lungs, he looked down at the ground, "no. . . i . . i don't."
- "liar."
- bakugo seethed behind him.
- shoving himself off the wall he was leaning on, bakugo walked closer and closer to shinsou as he spoke, "don't lie. we all see the way you look at them, the way your stupid face lights up with a small smile when they're with you or the airy chuckle you give when they do one of those stupid dances when they make food and-"
- "OK OK I GET IT!" shinsou snapped. mina jumped slightly in kirishima's arms and shinsou sent her a small apologetic look, "you know! I'm in love with them! i've been. . ." he trailed off before collapsing into a chair behind him, his head hanging back and staring into the bright flourescent lights hanging from the ceiling.
- "i've been trying to distance myself from them, to make getting over them easier."
- "they've been hurting, y'know."
- shinsou groaned and hid his face in his hands, "i know. you think i don't see the looks they give me when i avoid them in the halls? it hurts knowing i'm the reason they're in pain."
- "so why are you doing it?"
- "because they have you guys," shinsou sighed as it if we're the most obvious thing in the world, "you all could love them a lot more than i ever could alone. plus, they're so happy with you, i couldn't be the reason to disturb that."
- "you gotta be fucking kidding me." bakugo growled and pinched the bridge of his nose.
- kaminari snorted, "i think i just got deja vu."
- "you could say that again," mina sighed, "i'm heading back to the dorms, this is giving me a headache."
- with his arm still slung over her shoulder, kirishima agreed, "yeah, not sure how we didn't see this from the beginning. i'll walk you back, princess."
- shinsou only stared blankly as mina and kirishima left the room with kaminari in tow, complaining about getting some math work done. never in his life did he feel as confused as he did now
- lost. mans was lost..
- someone get him a map and help him please
- they acted as if they hadn't been the ones to literally kidnap him
- only to nonchalantly walk out the door?????
- sero's voice snapped him back to the remaining two people in the room, "you two really are a match made in heaven." sero smiled at him and shinsou felt head rise in his cheeks, whether it be from embarassment or something else, he didn't know.
- "i'll see you two around" and then he left, leaving shinsou alone with bakugo, who had yet to realease the bridge of his nose from his pinch.
- "you're both a pair of dumbasses."
- "i'm offended-"
- "y/n said the same fucking thing when we confronted them."
- shinsou stayed silent.
- "they felt like their presence would ruin the routine we had set a long time ago when we first started our relationship. . . sound familiar?"
- shinsou rubbed the back of his neck and opened his mouth to speak, but bakugo interrupted.
- "shut up, eye bags, i'm not finished."
- "i dIdNt eVEn sAy aNyTHiNg"
- "sure there were some things we had to adjust to include them in our schedule and a whole new bundle of emotions to incorporate into our lives; but the while point of a relationship is to open up slowly and learn to trust the ones you love. and eventually, we all learned to trust them the same way they learned to trust us; but trust isn't something you can learn over night. it's gradual."
- bakugo sighed, how in the hell did he get stuck in this situation again. at the very least no one got injured this time, "what I'm trying to say is, if y/n makes you happy, then we're all willing to let you in our relationship and put our trust in you.
- "will you put your trust in us?"
- how dramatic ˙ ͜ʟ˙
- so
- :) shinsou decides, fuck it. i deserve the good things in life, and he puts his trust in the squad the same way they all put their trust in him.
- and they decided it was a good time to surprise you too and kill two birds with one stone :)
- so you walk in to bakugo's dorm after a long day of school. you were returning from turning in your project with shinsou, and while the teacher had given you many compliments and basically secured your A, you still felt a bit sad knowing it would be the last time you would see shinsou since your schedules didn't collide and you had ended on a . . . confusing note.
- so you were just looking to cuddle with your lovers on a Friday night and wallow away in your sadness.
- when you walked in the group had been piled in their natural spots on bakugo's bed. mina was giggling with kaminari as they scrolled through tiktok, bakugo was reading a book you had reccomend to him a while a go, sero and kirishima were softly play fighting as they laughed and chuckled.
- everything was as it should be
- until you got to where your spot usually was, cradled between bakugo's warm and firm chest and mina's plush thighs and stomach, and it was occupied by someone else.
- everyone stopped what they were doing, as they watched a smile pull at your lips when you recognised the disheveled pruple hair lazily sprawled in your spot. everyone watched with bated breath as they waited for your reaction and small smiles of their own shining through as they watched your interaction.
- you lifted your hand and smacked shinsou's knee that had been raised up slightly as one of his arms lay behind his head and the other fiddled with a bracelet around mina's wrist, and his lips pulled into a lazy smirk of his own as he watched you.
- "get up, fat head, you're in my spot."
- his smirk only grew.
- "do something about it, hero."

Hi, uhhh emergency request here (or not) anyways can i have sakusa, tendou and kuroo comforting their s/o whose sitting on the ground with a blanket wrapped around them and they're just staring into nothing with tears in their eyes *kind of a mental breakdown but they're calm* and when they ask what's wrong they're just like "oh just a slap of reality" And they end up crying a lot and ranting because life is just too much sometimes yk :') **anyways yeah that's it feel free to ignore if it doesn't make any sense lol❤**
sakusa, tendou, and kuroo comforting their s/o who’s sitting on the ground with a blanket wrapped around them, staring into nothing with tears in their eyes
a/n: that’s a long title :’) yes, i kind of get what you’re saying!!
sakusa:
- “hey,” he says. “...hey”
- when you don’t answer him, he gets a bit confused. “hey?”
- you do a double take at the sound of his voice. “oh hi...” you reply softly
- he also has a blanket wrapped around him, except he’s standing up, no mask on, and no tears in his eyes. “why’re you crying but not actually crying?” he asks
- ... “oh, just a slap of reality”
- sakusa’s like (・・? ...instead of questioning what you mean, he just takes a seat by your side
- that’s when reality really hits you and tears just to pour down your face as you try to talk through sobs but everything just sounds like ruffled mumbles
- sakusa’s like ( ・_・)ノ as he tries to wipe your tears off with his blanket. without saying anything, he’ll just listen to everything you have to say, occasionally letting out a “mhm”, “oh”, and “really?”
- he cares, he really does but in his mind, he’s just waiting until your crying tires yourself out and you fall asleep on his shoulder like the you always do. then he’ll carry you to the bathroom, attempt to wash your tear stains off, plop you onto the bed, tuck you in, and then sleep beside you
tendou:
- “y/n...” tendou whispers, waving his arms around in front of you, trying to get your attention
- “...h-huh?” you stutter, blinking for a moment
- “everything okay?” he asks, crouching down to your eye level. he moves a little closer to get a good look at your teary eyes
- “not really...just pondering about life” you wrap your blanket around yourself even tighter. before tendou can respond, tears streams down your face like waterfalls.
- “t-tendou i-” you shakily croak out
- it takes a moment for tendou to process everything that’s going on. “shh, everything’s okay, y/n” he says as he wraps his arms around your head, softly smoothing your hair down, “in case you forgot, i love you lots”
- “i...love you too” your voice is muffled as you squeeze handfuls of his shirt to you wipe tears
- “do you want to talk to me about it?” he softly asks, trying to reach the nearest tissue box so his shirt will still be wearable
- without hesitating, you let all of your thoughts and emotions out. tendou pulls you a bit closer with every sob that leaves your body. his fingers rakes through hair, knowing how much it usually calms you down.
- “are you feeling a bit better now?” he asks, taking a good look at your face, “does water sound good?”
kuroo:
- “ah, i see....wrapping yourself in a blanket without inviting me?” he smirks as he closes the door behind him. when he doesn’t hear a reply from you, his eyebrows furrow. kuroo walks closer to where you’re sitting and looks at what you’re looking at: the wall ... ?
- “hey... y/n...”
- you continue staring off into emptiness, trying to hold your tears back
- “...kitten?” he knows you’d always respond to that. “you don’t look too good”
- you snap out of your thoughts and looks up at your boyfriend, who’s criss-crossed, sitting in front of you with a soft smile. “if you’re gonna wrap yourself in a blanket of sadness, at least invite me”

This Love

words: 3679
note: based on the song ‘This Love’ by Taylor Swift
a/n: this is a request I got from someone on Instagram :)
okay I know that sirius ran away from home at 16 and they’re not supposed to use magic outside of Hogwarts until their 17 but uhhh idk just pretend that sirius ran away at 17. or that they can do magic at 16, whatever you prefer
Clear blue water, high tide came and brought you in and I could go on and on, on and on, and I will. Skies grew darker, currents swept you out again and you were just gone and gone, gone and gone. In silent screams, in wildest dreams I never dreamed of this
“Hey,” Remus said, waving as he saw Sirius approaching. His nervous expression rearranged itself into a smile when he saw Remus.
“Remus!” Sirius said, rushing towards him and hugging him. The embrace is quick and short, Sirius pulling back as quickly as he came in, but it’s enough to make Remus’ heart pound ridiculously fast in his chest. “I’d ask you how your summer’s been but I guess I already know,” Sirius added with a laugh. Remus smiled. They had been exchanging letters back and forth all summer long. Not that they didn’t usually write to each other over breaks but Remus was pretty sure this summer they had broken the world record for most letters sent in a month.
Remus had planned on using this time away from Sirius to try and get over his crush but the second he saw Sirius walking around the beach he knew he had failed. If anything, being away from Sirius, missing him, had only made Remus’ feelings of longing more intense.
“Come on, let’s sit,” Remus said. He had already spread a towel out on the sand near the water before when he was waiting for Sirius and they sat on it now. “How’d you manage to get away in the end?”
“I just snuck out the window,” Sirius said, shrugging. “And then I took a taxi like you taught me and I used the muggle money you sent me. I will pay you back for that by the way.”
“Don’t bother,” Remus said. “Think of it as me paying you back for all the chocolate you bought me on the last Hogsmeade visit at the end of last year. Nobody knows you’re gone?”
“Nah, they’re not expecting me down for dinner anyway so it’ll be fine.”
“You sure?” Remus asked nervously.
“Yeah,” Sirius said. Remus wasn’t convinced. “Hey, come on, don’t worry about them. We’re here now, let’s enjoy it.” Sirius flopped back on the towel, lying on his back, arms stretched up above his head, shirt riding up and revealing a strip of skin above the waistband of his pants that Remus was actively trying to avoid staring at. Sirius was right. They had discussed this all summer, planning exactly how they would make it work. He wouldn’t ruin it by worrying now that they were finally here.
“Yeah, okay,” Remus said, smiling. And lying down next to Sirius. He looked up at the sky. It was a brilliant orange now, the rays of the setting sun giving it the colour. “You feel like going for a swim?”
“Okay,” Sirius said, grinning. They raced into the ocean, spraying each other water so they were soaked before they even got in past their knees. Remus kept going deeper until only his head was above water.
“Come on, Moony, that’s not fair, I can’t stand here,” Sirius complained, treading water beside him.
“Then swim,” Remus replied.
“Swimming is the one thing that I’m not the best at,” Sirius admitted grudgingly.
“What, all that old family money and your parents never paid for swimming lessons?” Remus teased but he followed Sirius back to the shallows.
“I think they were hoping I’d just drown actually,” Sirius said once he could stand. “I wonder why Reg never got any swimming lessons though. Well, it’ll be on their conscience if he ever drowns. If they even have a conscience, that is.”
“What if you drown?”
“Oh, it definitely wouldn’t be a weight on their conscience. They’d probably pat themselves on the back and go ‘see, this is what happens to gay, Gryffindor, blood traitors.”
“That’s… really fucked up,” Remus said. Sirius shrugged and submerged his head in the water. When he came back up, Remus splashed him in the face, starting a short water fight that Remus had clearly won (no matter what Sirius said).
They didn’t stay in the ocean much longer because the lower the sun sank, the colder the water got. They got out of the water, dried themselves with their wands and then sat back down on their beach towel. The blue water was crystal clear and above it, the sky now looked pink. It was a beautiful sight. But Remus was watching Sirius’ face instead. His wind-swept hair, blue-grey eyes squinting at the setting sun, rays of orange light giving his skin a golden look. Remus’ heart was beating loudly in his ears.
“What?” Sirius asked when he noticed Remus’ staring. “Why are you looking at me like that?” Normally this would be the point where Remus would look away hurriedly, his face burning, claiming that he wasn’t looking at Sirius and joking that he should deflate his ego because not everything was about him. And maybe it was the way Sirius looked today, different from what Remus was used to, in a different setting or maybe it was the fact that he hadn’t seen Sirius in weeks and his resolve had weakened, but he couldn’t bring himself to look away today.
“Moony,” Sirius said. Remus’ heart skipped a beat. “What? Is it my hair?” Sirius’ hand reached up into his hair and ran his fingers through it. It looked both messier and neater somehow. Remus didn’t understand it. Remus would never admit it out loud, not after the number of times he had teased Sirius about it, but Sirius’ hair was every bit as perfect as his arrogant ass claimed it was.
“It’s you,” Remus said, without thinking. “Just… all of you.” Sirius looked at him, eyes wide.
“W-What do you mean?”
“I—” Remus started, when suddenly it hit him what he was about to do. What the fuck was wrong with him? He was going to tell Sirius. He was actually going to do it. “Nevermind,” he mumbles, looking away and blushing as he should’ve done a minute ago when Sirius had caught him staring in the first place.
“What? No, come on, Remus, just tell me,” Sirius teased. Remus shrugged. Sirius turned around so he was facing Remus.
“Remus,” he said, “whatever it is you can tell me. I’m here for you, no matter what.” Remus hesitated.
“Promise you won’t hate me?” he said. He felt stupid asking the question because even if Sirius did promise, it wasn’t a binding contract. Sirius couldn’t control his hatred. Nobody could.
“I promise,” Sirius said. “I could never hate you, Remus.” He looked genuine but Remus knew better than to believe it was true. Promises are broken more often than they’re kept. But not with Sirius, he thinks. Sirius has never broken a promise he made to Remus. Not once. Well, he’s about to, said a voice in his head. Remus tried to ignore that voice as he spoke.
“Okay,” Remus let out a shaky breath. “Okay. I… I like you, Sirius. Like, um, a lot.” Sirius remained silent for a moment.
“I like you too, Rem,” he said quietly. Remus felt his chest burn.
“You don’t understand,” he said, shaking his head. Because Sirius couldn’t… he couldn’t possibly… But his thoughts are interrupted when Sirius speaks again
“Oh, I think I do,” Sirius said. Remus opened his mouth to reply but Sirius got there first. “Can… can I kiss you?” Remus closed his mouth.
“W-What?” he stuttered, his brain taking several moments to process what Sirius had just said to him.
“We don’t have to,” Sirius said hurriedly. “I was only—” But Remus cut him off by pressing their lips together. In a rush of adrenaline, fear and excitement he ignores the voice in his head saying this is a bad idea, that he misunderstood something, that this isn’t really what Sirius wants and instead he listens to Sirius. He hears Sirius’ voice echoing inside his head. Can I kiss you? Can I kiss you? Can I kiss you? Yes, you bloody well can. This is all Remus has wanted, what he’s been dreaming about for months. But not even in his wildest dreams could he have imagined what it would be like to really kiss Sirius. To have Sirius kiss him back. To thread his fingers in Sirius’ hair and feel Sirius’ hands pressing into his back, holding him close. And with all of Remus’ expansive vocabulary, he couldn’t think of a single word to describe this feeling that could even come close to how extraordinary it is. All he could think was Sirius. Sirius is touching me. Sirius is holding me. Sirius is kissing me.
When they break apart, they’re both breathless. Remus can’t think straight. Everything in his brain is one big mess.
“You— I— we just…” Remus has seemingly forgotten how to speak. And the grin on Sirius’ face is definitely not helping.
“Told you I understand,” Sirius said, taking Remus’ hand in his.
“You actually… like me?” Remus asked, bewildered.
“Um, yeah,” Sirius said, laughing as if it had been obvious. “For, like, a really long time.”
“I– why didn’t you say anything?” Remus asked.
“I could ask you the same,” Sirius said, shrugging. “But I don’t think it matters much. What matters is that I like you and you like me and…”
“And?” Remus prompted. Sirius looked him in the eyes and bit his lip.
“And I’d like to, um… take you out. On a date. Sometime. If that’s something that you might be interested in?” He said it like a question, looking nervous up at him.
“Yeah, I– of course, I–I’d love to go on a date with you,” Remus said. He could feel himself blushing. God, he was so awkward. Sirius cupped his cheeks with his hand, leaning towards closer again, ghosting his lips on Remus’.
“Your face is warm,” he said, his lips brushing against Remus’ mouth as he spoke, which only made Remus blush harder.
“Well no fucking shit,” Remus said, rolling his eyes. And then he kissed Sirius properly, fitting their mouths together like it was the most natural thing in the world.
When the sun had gone down, they finally left the beach, each going back to his own home. Remus hadn’t known how badly Sirius would be punished for sneaking out the following day; if he had he might have never agreed to it. Or might have told Sirius not to go home.
It was that summer that Sirius finally decided to run away from home for good. Remus couldn’t help but feel guilty no matter how many times Sirius told him that he would have done it anyway. Besides, meeting at the beach was Sirius’ idea, not Remus’. But Remus couldn’t forget the moment he finally understood just how terrible things had been at the Black household.
He remembered going over to the Potter’s house after getting a letter from James saying that Sirius was staying with him. He remembered being horrified when he saw Sirius’. Bruised and scarred from the blows that his own parents struck and curses that they fired at him. That night he cradled Sirius, holding him close and promising that he would take care of Sirius, that Sirius was safe with him. He told Sirius that he loved him and that he always will. It had never occurred to him that maybe Sirius wouldn’t say the same about him.
Tossing, turning, struggled through the night with someone new and I could go on and on, on and on. Lantern, burning, flickered in the night, only you but you were still gone, gone, gone
Everything had changed in a single night. In a single night, he had lost Lily, James and Peter. He’d lost Sirius too but not in the same way. He’d lost them all because of Sirius. Sirius had killed them. And in doing so, Sirius had been lost as well. He hadn’t died but Remus counted him with the losses. He might as well have died. He’s dead to me, Remus thinks, he doesn’t matter. He killed them. He killed them all. It was all him. The man that he knew had died. Remus had wondered how long ago it had happened.
He had been tossing and turning in bed, unable to sleep from fear of the war, images of everyone he had lost, turning to Sirius for comfort. To someone he thought loved him. But this was someone else. Someone new. This wasn’t the boy he’d fallen in love with.
Remus remembered laying in bed the night before everything had gone to hell. It felt like a million years ago, but he remembered it all the same. He remembered how Sirius hadn’t spoken to him in the weeks before. He remembered devising a plan to find out if Sirius still loved him. Because that’s what he did best. At school, he devised plans for pranks. After school, he helped devise plans for the Order. He was good at planning ahead. So he made a plan. Because he couldn’t go on living in the same apartment as Sirius, sleeping in the same bed without exchanging a word, not knowing whether Sirius still reciprocated his feelings. His plan kept him sane. But his plan had failed. Or maybe it had succeeded. It just hadn’t given him the results he’d been hoping for. Because when he got into bed that night, he waited long enough that Sirius would think he was asleep. Then he turned towards Sirius and brushed his fingers on Sirius’ back. And Sirius got up and walked away. And just like that, the last flame of hope Remus had left flicked out.
Remus remembered thinking that Sirius had fallen out of love. But maybe he hadn’t. Maybe he had simply never loved Remus in the first place. Maybe this wasn’t someone new at all. Maybe this person, this murderer, was in fact the very same boy he’d fallen in love with all those years ago. Maybe this was all part of some sick scheme. Maybe Sirius had hated him all along. Sirius had promised he would never hate Remus. But what is a promise, really? Promises are made to be broken. Remus had to learn that time and time again. He should just stop believing people when they make promises. He wouldn’t believe anymore, he told himself. He promised himself. There was nobody left to believe. Nobody left to promise him anything anyway. Sirius was gone. They were all gone, all his friends. And they’re never coming back.
Your kiss, my cheek, I watched you leave. Your smile, my ghost, I fell to my knees.
Remus’ world is on fire. Everything has burned the ground and he’s left to scrape away the ashes and try to find something he can put back together. Alone.
He can still feel the sting of Sirius’ lips against his cheek. He can still remember Sirius’ easy smile, his light-hearted laughter ringing through the walls of the room that Remus is in right now. But then he blinks again and now he’s seeing Sirius’ face on a ‘wanted’ poster for the first time. He doesn’t remember how he found the poster that night. It’s not important anyway. All he remembers is the feeling of looking down and seeing a photo of the love of his life behind bars, arrested for the murder of his three best friends. He remembers collapsing. Literally, falling to his knees as quickly as the tears fell down his cheeks. He remembers crying, sobbing, screaming out.
He remembers thinking of every happy moment he’d ever had with his friends, with his boyfriend. He’d never make any more memories like that. He had felt empty that day. Hollow. That feeling still hasn’t gone away. Remus feels like a ghost. A ghost of the memories from before this all happened. He haunts himself. But Remus is not a ghost. He’s the only one still left alive. He’d rather be a ghost right now. He’d rather be dead. At least then he wouldn’t feel this pain. At least then he wouldn’t feel like he’s been pulled apart. Nobody can glue him back together now. There’s nobody left alive that would try. There’s nobody left alive, period. Nobody but him.
This love is good, this love is bad, this love is alive back from the dead, oh, oh, oh. These hands had to let it go free, and this love came back to me, oh, oh, oh. This love left a permanent mark, this love is glowing in the dark, oh, oh, oh. These hands had to let it go free, and this love came back to me, oh, oh, oh
Sirius has been staying at Remus’ apartment for a couple of days now, sleeping on the couch in Remus’ living room. It’s been weeks since that night he found out the truth. The night he nearly killed everybody he cared about. The few still left alive. The night he saw Sirius again for the first time in twelve years. It’s been weeks but Remus can’t figure out how he feels about Sirius after everything they’ve been through. On one hand, Remus can’t believe how unbelievably lucky he is to have Sirius back. He can’t believe that Sirius is here. That he’s innocent. And he wants things to go back to how they were. He knows that’s impossible but he wishes it could happen.
But on the other hand, there are still so many complications, so many questions. Is being together wise? Is it advisable? Is it responsible? Even if Sirius wasn’t still a wanted criminal, would they be able to repair their relationship? To pick up their shattered love and piece it back together? They’d been through so much together and so much apart. Remus isn’t the same person he was 12 years ago and neither is Sirius. Does Sirius even still love him? Does he still love Sirius, after everything? He buried those feelings deep, deep down inside him on the night of Sirius’ arrest. Are they still there? Do they still exist, locked somewhere in the depths of his heart? Remus is sure they do. What else could be squeezing in his chest every time he looks at Sirius? It’s like a game of tug-a-war in his mind, back and forth. This love is good, this love is bad.
All this is why, right now, when Sirius is saying that they need to talk and they’re seated in the living room side by side on the couch, Remus feels like words are failing him. He’s disappeared into his own head until Sirius’ words snap him out of it, his voice ringing in Remus’ head.
“Remus?”
“Yeah?” he says, sounding dazed.
“I–I just want you to know that I never meant to hurt you. I would never intentionally hurt you, Remus, I promise.” His eyes pleaded with Remus to believe him. Remus had promised himself that he would never believe people when they make promises. But here he was, believing again. Never believe a promise, even when you’re the one making the promise to yourself. Especially when you make the promise to yourself.
“I—” Sirius starts again, seeing that Remus doesn’t know what to say. He closes his eyes and takes a breath before continuing. “I still love you, Remus. And I understand if you don’t feel the same anymore, really I get it. But I just thought you should know. I’ll always love you.” Remus can barely breathe. Sirius still loves him. This is a bad idea, says a voice in his head. Fuck good and bad. Remus doesn’t care. The important this is that this love is fucking alive. It died. And now it’s back. Back from the dead. Sirius is back. He came back to me, Remus thinks. He’s innocent. He came back and now he’s telling me he still loves me. Sirius is here. Remus desperately wants this to be real. He wants them to be real again.
Sirius’ love left a permanent mark on Remus. Not like his scars. This is something different. More like a tattoo. Something that he’d chosen at first and couldn’t get rid of later. In all the years that Sirius had been in Azkaban, in all the years Remus had willed himself to forget Sirius, to hate him, the tattoo had never faded. And now that Sirius is back, Remus doesn’t have to want it to fade. So in a lapse of judgement, he kisses Sirius. He kisses Sirius and that tiny flame that had flickered out all those years ago is back. Remus feels it fill him up as Sirius kisses him back, hands in hair, arms around waists, fingertips on bare skin. And when they break apart, Remus still feels the warmth of Sirius’ body against his.
“I missed you so much,” Sirius murmurs against his lips and Remus feels like he’s back on that beach the first time he kissed Sirius.
“I missed you too,” Remus says, a tear trickling down his face.
“Really?” Sirius asks, pulling away to look at Remus with his eyebrows raised. “But you thought I was a murderer?”
“I know,” Remus says. “I didn’t want to miss you. But I did. I couldn’t help it. I wanted you back.”
“I’m back now,” Sirius says, hugging Remus tightly. “I’m back and I’m never leaving. And I’m all yours, love.”
“I never stopped loving you,” Remus whispers in his ear, tears spilling from his eyes even though they’re squeezed shut. “I hated myself for it. But I loved you every day you were locked in that cell. And I still love you now.”
“I love you too,” Sirius whispers back.
It’s the only light in this crushing, suffocating darkness of death and war and grief and guilt. That flame, his and Sirius’ love, glows amidst the dark. And it’s what keeps Remus going. And this time, Remus will never let go of Sirius.

half-cocked || javier peña x reader
Read on AO3 | Masterlist
Summary: Javi’s your boss, and he’s so damn stubborn. You’d have to be crazy to go off half-cocked twice in one night, right?
Pairings: Javier Peña x DEA Agent!Reader
Genre: smut, porn without plot (18+ only!)
Word Count: 2.8k
Warnings: god uhhh filth, oral (m and f receiving), thigh riding, choking, praise kink, dirty talk, hand jobs, unprotected sex, dom javi, sub reader, fluff at the end bc i think smut always deserves some fluff ♡ also, totally unbeta-ed.
A/N: full disclosure i was drunk on vodka cran and listening to “drew barrymore” by bryce vine when i wrote this, so it might be terrible or it might be really good. i just want javi to lovingly & tenderly top the fuck out of me :) let me know what you think!
“I told you not to go near those guys.”
Javi crossed his arms over his chest, waiting for you to answer, to explain why you’d done the exact opposite of what he’d told you to do. You felt yourself blush, face heating with anger and embarrassment and something you refused to acknowledge.
“I thought I could get something out of them,” you said, going on the defensive. “They know something, Javi. It would have been stupid to pass up an opportunity to get some intel from them.”
You watched the way his jaw worked.
“No, what would have been stupid is if you had gotten hurt,” he said, his voice tight with frustration. You almost wished he would yell at you and get it over with; this cold anger was harder for you to bear.
He’d expressly told you to stay away from the group of narcos you’d been tagging for a week, and he was your boss. But you knew you could get something from them - they’d talk to you quicker than they would talk to Javi, and you both knew it. You never disobeyed a direct order, especially not from Javi, but he was being so stubborn. You went ahead and questioned them anyways, and Javi had caught you red-handed.
“You don’t think I can take care of myself?” you asked coldly.
He ran a hand over his face. “Of course you can take care of yourself,” he said. “But you’ve been here for two minutes, alright? Sometimes you have to trust my judgement. I’m not a complete idiot. If you fuck around with these guys and go off half-cocked, you’re gonna get yourself killed.”
You opened your mouth to protest, to say you’d done the job without getting hurt. You knew that was beside the point; you’d gotten lucky with these guys - you could have just as easily gotten shot for your trouble, and both you and Javi knew that.
He cut you off before you could say anything.
“You answer to me,” he said. “Are we clear? I don’t care what kind of wild ideas you have in your head about catching fuckin’ Escobar all by yourself. If I say to steer clear of a bunch of narcos, you do what I say. Not whatever bullshit you come up with. Got it?”
God, you could have screamed.
“Yes,” you managed. You started to leave, but that wasn’t enough for him. He took your arm in a grip gentle enough not to hurt but firm enough to show you how deadly serious he was.
“Yes what?” he asked.
You felt your face heat again. “Yes sir.”
You could have sworn you felt a fucking switch flip. The air in the office was suddenly hot and constrictive; you met his eyes and felt like you were on fire.
He was so close to you, so close you could feel his warmth and smell his cologne. You could see where his pulse beat furiously under his jaw; his eyes were dark as they met yours.
He gave a hum of agreement. “That’s better.”
You couldn't think of anything to say; you were completely consumed with him, the way his hair fell across his brow, the way the top two buttons of his shirt were undone, the way his skin looked so sunkissed and warm.
For the second time that night, you went off half-cocked; you pressed your mouth to his and hoped against hope it wouldn’t cost you your job.
His response was immediate - he opened his mouth against yours and took your tongue, one hand still holding your arm and the other moving to hold your waist securely against him. You carded your free hand through his hair, whining a little; god, but he could kiss. Your breath came in sharp gasps as he hooked your leg over his thigh, drawing your heat closer against him.
“You want this?” he asked, breathless.
“Yes,” you said. “Yes, sir. Please.”
He sighed against your mouth. “Fuck. Alright.” He ran his fingers over the seam in your jeans. “What do you want?”
You could barely think straight; something you’d imagined countless times came to mind, and you decided to try your luck.
“Can I ride your thigh?” you asked, needy. “Please, sir.”
He groaned. “Yeah, pretty girl. Whatever you want.”
He stumbled backwards, one hand out to make sure you didn’t crash into anything; he found his desk chair and took a seat, looking up at you like you were the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen.
“Come on, baby girl,” he said, patting his thigh. “Right here.”
You did as he said, straddling his thigh, feeling a rush of heat before you’d even moved. You put your hands on his shoulders and let him kiss you, deep and hungry.
You started to move against his thigh; his hands roamed all over you, desperate, needy. You rocked your hips, pressing yourself against his thick, muscled thigh. Your breath started to catch in your chest; he put his hands on your hips and pressed you down against him, each movement of your hips dragging over his thigh.
“Javi,” you breathed. You gripped his shoulders and pressed yourself against him.
“Tell me how it feels, sweetheart,” he said, kissing your neck.
“God - oh, fuck, feels so good,” you managed. “Oh, Javi - ”
“Such a good girl for me,” he said. “Getting yourself off on my thigh - what a good girl.”
“‘M close,” you whined. You were almost embarrassed with how quickly you’d come to the edge.
“That’s alright, baby,” he said. His big hands moved over your breasts. “Come on, honey. Take what you want from me.”
Your eyes fluttered open long enough to see his face, all flushed pink; he bit his lip when you moaned, his head leaning back like he was getting off on your whines.
“Oh, Javi, I’m gonna cum,” you said, desperate and a little panicked. Though you’d gotten yourself off thinking about him before, you’d never gotten off with him, much less while riding his thigh. Maybe this was crazy. Maybe this wasn’t -
“Good girl,” he said, almost like a sigh. “Fucking gorgeous, getting yourself off on my thigh.”
Your nerves faded and you wrapped your arms around his neck, moving your hips sharply against his thigh; when he kissed you, it was surprisingly tender. He kept his mouth against yours as you reached your high.
“Javi,” you said desperately. “Fuck, fuck - oh, god - ”
He held you against him as you rode out your orgasm on his thigh, moans tumbling from both of you. He sucked right below your jaw, murmuring words of praise.
“Thank you, thank you,” you babbled, leaning against him as you came down from your high. You could feel how hard he was through his impossibly tight jeans; you palmed him and kissed at his neck, sloppy and sweet.
He couldn’t help a choked laugh. “You’re welcome, baby,” he said. “Anytime. But really, you did most of the work.”
He lifted you off his lap, ignoring your slight protest; he stood you up and fumbled with the button on your jeans.
“Let me taste you, baby,” he said. He knelt in front of you, looking up at you from under his long, dark lashes; you would never have guessed he could look this needy. You couldn’t do much but nod your head.
As he started to pull your jeans down, you had a sudden moment of clarity. “Javi, wait, wait.”
He stilled, looking up at you for direction. “What’s wrong?”
You fumbled with the words. “I didn’t - you haven’t - ” You swallowed. “Let me get you off.”
He chuckled, a wry grin spreading over his face. “Patience, baby girl. You’ll get your turn.”
God, your mouth practically watered at the thought. He quickly put any other thought out of your mind as he helped you shimmy out of your jeans, his ease and control only making you more flushed. He made quick work of your underwear, pausing only a moment to comment on how wet they were.
“Hmm, someone enjoyed themselves, I see,” he teased.
You blushed. “Shut up.”
He grinned up at you. “Make me.”
He didn’t wait for a response before he nosed at your heat, gently bringing your leg over his shoulder. You grabbed the corner of his desk, your whole body like a live wire with desire and overstimulation. You’d only just come down from your last orgasm, you couldn't possibly -
“Jesus Christ,” you gasped, tangling the fingers of your free hand in his curls as he went straight to business, eating you out like you were his last meal. The sounds he was making - god, they were downright sinful. You didn’t think you’d ever enjoyed a man going down on you with such pleasure or such skill.
“You taste so good, querida,” he rasped, catching his breath. “Fucking delicious, baby girl.”
You tugged a little on his hair, incoherent whines falling from your lips as he sucked on your clit. “Javi, fuck, oh, god, please - ”
“Gonna cum, beautiful?” he asked. “Gonna cum on my tongue?”
A sound came from your throat that almost sounded like a sob. “Yes, please, just - ”
You didn’t know what you were asking for, but evidently he did; within seconds, his tongue dipping into you and his nose nudging at your clit, you came so hard it made your legs shake.
“Javi, Javi, Javi,” you pleaded, like a prayer. He sucked your clit through your orgasm; when you finally came down, he grinned up at you and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.
“You’re so beautiful,” he said with feeling. “You sound so gorgeous when you cum, baby.”
You steadied yourself on his shoulder as he stood, shaking with residual waves of pleasure. He kissed you, salty with your own taste, pulling your hips against his.
“I wanna suck you off,” you said, almost begging. “Please, Javi.”
He groaned against your mouth. “If you want to, honey.”
You put your hands on his shoulders and pushed him down until he sat back in his desk chair, knees spread for you. You knelt in front of him like he had just done for you; your hands were shaking a little too much to easily undo his belt, and he did it for you. You pulled his cock out of his boxers and gave him a few quick strokes.
“Fuck,” he bit out. You waited before you did any more; you wanted to be told what to do, but you were mortified to admit it.
“What is it, baby girl?” he asked. You looked up at him, your hand wrapped around his cock, begging him to understand.
He gave a quiet hum, seeming to realize what you wanted. He put his hand to your throat, just firm enough to let you feel the pressure of his fingertips. He met your eyes, looking for permission; you put your hand on his wrist and held his gaze.
“You like this, sweetheart?” he asked, giving you every chance to say no.
You looked up at him from under your lashes. “Yes, sir,” you said, incredibly coy for someone who still felt the pressure and heat of his tongue between your legs.
He studied your face. “You like to be controlled, huh, baby girl? Wanna be told what to do?”
You ran your hands up his thighs, just enough to tease, pushing him a little; he tightened his grip, just enough to make you still.
“Don’t be naughty,” he warned. He leaned forward and kissed you. “Tell me what you want, sweetheart.”
“Javi,” you managed. “Wanna suck your cock, sir.”
“I don’t know, dollface. Only good girls get what they want. You disobeyed me earlier, didn’t you?”
You couldn’t help the whimper that escaped you. Now you were getting down to it. You’d disobeyed him and, like it said on your DEA profile, Agent Peña was in charge of any disciplinary action that needed to be taken in your case.
“But you’ve been such a good girl,” he mused. His thumb ran under your jaw, caressing the place he’s put a love mark earlier. “You won’t disobey again, will you, baby?”
“No,” you breathed.
His grip tightened. “No what?”
“No sir,” you whined.
“Good girl,” he praised. He moved his hand from your neck to your hair, brushing it back with intentional tenderness. You took that as your permission and moved your hand up and down his cock, drinking in the sounds he made as you pleasured him.
“Oh, fuck,” he breathed. A string of Spanish curses fell from his mouth, somehow melodic; you took him as deeply as you could manage, swallowing around him, running your tongue up the underside of his cock. He tasted so good, and his breathy moans were like music; you put your hands on his thighs as he tangled his fingers in your hair.
“So good, baby, god - ” His voice pitched up sweetly. “You’re so good. Fuck.” He only just managed to keep himself from fucking his hips against your face, trembling under your hands.
“Wait, baby, hold on,” he gasped. You came off of him with a pop and looked up at him, waiting for direction; he swiped his thumb over your bottom lip.
“Don’t wanna come yet, sweetheart,” he said, his chest pumping. Sweat shone on his chest where his button-down was undone. “And if I let you go any more, I’d be done for.”
“Yes sir,” you said breathlessly, your voice hoarse.
“Fuck,” he breathed. “Good girl.” He stood and brought you up with him.
“I want you,” you said petulantly, your hands roaming everywhere. “Please, Javi.”
“Hold on, honey.” He took both your wrists in one hand. “You’re gonna do as I say?”
You kissed him hungrily. “Yes. Please. I want to do what you say.”
He kissed you and bit your bottom lip. “Bend over my desk, baby girl.”
You did as he said, pushing files aside to brace yourself against his desk; you felt him draw close to you, giving himself a few strokes before he drew his cock between your legs.
“Easy, baby,” he soothed, putting one hand on your hip, holding you steady; his other hand gently brushed over your ass. “Can you be patient for me?”
You pushed back against his hips. “Yes, sir. I want you.”
“I know, honey,” he said. He reached around to circle your clit with slow, deliberate movements, making you give a breathy little moan.
“You sound so pretty when you’re needy,” he praised.
“Please,” you said. You were confident he knew what you meant.
He leaned down to kiss the back of your neck. “Since you asked so sweetly.”
He pushed into you quickly, all the way to the hilt; you gasped as he filled you, warm and tight and almost too much.
“Alright, baby?” he asked gently. You knew he was being sincere, and he gave you a moment to settle. You took a deep breath and moved against him, desire and pleasure washing through you with even that small movement.
“Please, Javi,” you whined.
He started to move his hips against you, each stroke deep and intentional. His hips snapped against yours at a steady and delicious pace, filling you, dragging across the spot that made you moan and whimper.
“Fuck, you feel so good,” Javi said, his voice tight and heavy with desire. “You’re so beautiful, baby. Can’t believe I get to be with you like this.”
“Javi,” you keened. His fingers circled your clit, bringing you to the edge as your pleasure grew. “You’re so good, Javi, oh - fuck - ”
You tightened around him as you tried not to cum, wanting to finish with him. His grip on your hip tightened.
“‘M close, sweetheart,” he said.
“Fuck, me too,” you gasped. “Oh, please - ”
“Cum with me, baby,” he managed. “Come on my cock, sweetheart.”
He pushed into you and pressed deeply against your clit; your orgasm washed over you with blinding pleasure, and you called out his name like a prayer. As you tightened around him, he came too, groaning like you’d torn his heart out of his chest.
“Christ,” he breathed, leaning his head against your back. He kissed your neck and stood you up as he pulled out of you, steadying you as your legs shook with ebbing waves of pleasure.
“That was incredible, sweetheart,” he said breathlessly. He turned you around to face him, holding you close, leaning his forehead against yours.
“Thank you, Javi,” you said.
He gave a quiet laugh. “Anytime, querida.”
You wanted to kiss him again, but feared it might be too intimate; he pressed his mouth to yours and kissed you tenderly, slowly.
“Don’t disobey me again,” he said, though his warning was gentle and you knew it came from a place of worry and care for you.
You shook your head. “No, sir.”
You could feel his smile against your mouth. “Good girl. Such a good girl for me.”

Alright I caved. Here’s chapter one of the still unnamed sequel to No Apologies, my Lumity coffeeshop AU. It’s been seven months since I finished the fic so I hope yall are still down for the ride! The chaos starts now :) ~
“This might be a bad time to tell you this, but roosters….kinda freak me out.”
“Amity, we are literally swimming in roosters right now.”
Amity hugged herself, shaking but still managing to roll her eyes. “We are metaphorically swimming in roosters.”
Luz snorted. “Whatever, Miss Accurate.”
They both looked at the rooster pen in front of them. A cow mooed in the distance, and they took a moment of silence to question the life choices that had led up to this moment.
It didn’t take very long. The pipeline went like this: Amity had decided to work part time at a coffee shop to piss off her parents, and two years later she was on a six month anniversary trip with a chaotic ball of energy, tripping on bird feathers at a barn many miles away from home. Simple.
“It...it was just supposed to be an air bnb,” Luz said helplessly.
“Luz, what did the ad say?”
Luz scrambled to take her phone out of her pocket, mindlessly swatting away the pig trying to eat it out of her hand.
“Uh…’stunning country views and a realistic farming experience.’” She stomped her foot. “That is so misleading!!!”
“I genuinely think I’m about to pass out.” Amity said, swaying slightly.
“Babe, don’t say that. The roosters can smell your fear.”
Amity glared at her girlfriend. “Ha ha,” she said sarcastically. “Fine, what’s next on the list they left us?”
Luz pulled out a crumpled sheet of paper covered in lines of print detailing exactly what they had to do in order to stay at the barn. It was politely decorated with a post it note that read “Good luck, suckers!”
“Inspect the roosters,” she read. “Check for obvious genetic defects. Separate these roosters from the rest.”
Amity held up a hand to stop her. “No. Nope. I am not inspecting roosters. I am not separating roosters. I am going back inside, and I am going to read a book, and I am going to pretend there are no demon chickens out here ready to peck my eyes out.”
Amity gingerly tiptoed around the roosters, taking care not to touch any of them. One brave animal attempted to peck at her skirt, but she let out an unholy shriek that scattered them all. Luz watched Amity flee the scene, sighing. She picked up the list Amity had dropped and scanned the next few lines. “The roosters with these defects will be…” she trailed off. “Oh,” she said, realization dawning. “Oh no.”
Amity must have dozed off, because the next thing she knew, it was dark and Luz was shaking her awake.
“Amity, wake up, we have an emergency.” Amity was up in an instant. “What’s wrong? Are you okay???” “Yeah, I’m fine!” Luz assured her. “It’s just uh…..” Luz rubbed the back of her neck nervously. “We have a...situation?”
Amity yawned and stretched, rubbing her eyes as she stood up. Immediately, Luz grabbed her hand and began dragging her outside. “Ugh, what time is it?” Amity asked, stumbling along behind Luz.
“Uhhh about one am I think? I had to wait until now to do this. It’s better under the cover of darkness.”
Immediately, Amity felt a sense of extreme trepidation. Whatever was waiting for her outside was definitely not something she wanted to see.
Her suspicions were confirmed when she was met with the sound of roosters clucking. When they reached the driveway, she stopped dead. “Luz,” Amity said slowly, blinking repeatedly to make sure she was seeing things correctly. “Why are there a dozen roosters in your car?”
“There’s actually fourteen,” Luz said, but faltered when Amity glared at her. “Okay, so the thing is, well….the farmers wanted us to separate the roosters because these are the ones with defects. And these are the ones they’re gonna sell for meat.”
“Oh god,” Amity groaned. “Don’t tell me-”
Luz’s grin looked almost evil in the moonlight. “We’re gonna save the roosters.”
“Luz, where the hell are you planning on bringing them??? Most roosters live in captivity!”
“So I looked it up, and it said that roosters thrive in forest climates, and the nearest forest is only two hours away!!!!”
Amity wanted to say she was surprised, but she knew Luz well enough at this point to know to expect this from her. She reached out and placed a hand on her shoulder. “Luz,” she said gently. “I love how big your heart is, and I love that you want to save these animals. But roosters are supposed to live on farms. Also, you had chicken salad for lunch.”
Luz looked at her with puppy eyes. Fuck. Amity couldn’t resist that.
She sighed. “Fine,” she said. “We can save the roosters. But you know the farmers are gonna make us pay for them.”
“Ahhhh thank you!” Luz squealed, throwing her arms around Amity’s neck. She kissed her cheek. “You’re the best.”
“I know,” Amity grumbled. “Now get in the car before I change my mind.”
~
It was going fine until they reached the gas station. The roosters were in the back, probably shitting all over Luz’s car, and Amity was in the passenger seat, gripping the door handle and trying not to freak out.
“Shit,” Luz said over the radio about a half hour into their ride, summing up Amity’s thoughts nicely. “We need gas.”
“I’ll get it,” Amity volunteered quickly. Anything to get out of the car, anything to get away from the ominous clucking emerging from the backseat. She opened her door. And that’s when all hell broke loose.
Fourteen roosters, smelling freedom and gas station muffins, burst from the back seat into the front, climbing over Amity and streaming out of the passenger side door. Amity shrieked and fell out of the car, scraping her arm on the concrete as roosters used her back as a jumping off point into the night.
Amity hissed as she used her arms to get up, her scraped elbow burning. Luz ran around the side of the car to help stop the roosters, but it was too late. They both watched helplessly as the birds flapped their wings and hopped away.
It was two thirty in the morning, and they had released roosters into the town.
They were both silent as they ruminated on what had just happened. The birds clucked in the distance, joining the cicadas in their unholy screaming.
“We need to go,” Luz said at last, far more calmly than the panicked look in her eye suggested. She helped Amity up, careful not to touch her injured arm and, without another word, they both got into the car and sped away.
~
Since they were fugitives now, they could no longer sleep at the barn. Forgetting the fact that the barn’s owners had their information and would no doubt charge them for the roosters anyway, they quickly picked up their things, got back into the car, and bolted. They drove for a couple of hours, trying in vain to ignore the strong smell of bird shit emanating from the backseat. The streetlights illuminated the scene: feathers in the backseat, feathers in Amity’s hair, blood gently staining the paper towel Amity was holding to her elbow.
After awhile they passed a sign for a Bed and Breakfast and Luz, having determined they’d gotten far enough away from the scene of the crime, turned the car in that direction. They were quite a sight as they straggled into the quaint house, but the elderly owners asked no questions as to why they had shown up at four in the morning covered in feathers, so Luz and Amity gratefully stumbled up the stairs, finally collapsing in their new room. Despite the summer heat, Amity was shivering, so Luz hurried to light the fireplace.
Once she’d tended to the fire, Luz sat down on the floor next to Amity. “Show me,” she said, gesturing to Amity’s injured arm. Amity wordlessly offered up her elbow, which Luz inspected. “You don’t need stitches,” she said gratefully, pulling out a Naruto bandaid.
“How could you possibly know that?” Amity asked quietly. Luz shrugged. “I was really clumsy as a kid.”
Amity raised an eyebrow. “Okay, fine, I’m still clumsy,” Luz admitted.
Their silences were usually comfortable, but this one most definitely was not.
“I’m really sorry,” Luz finally whispered, gingerly covering Amity’s wound with a picture of Sasuke Uchiha. “I didn’t mean to ruin our anniversary trip.”
They hadn’t spoken much since The Incident. Amity had stared stonily out the car window while Luz drove and occasionally attempted to covertly glance at her girlfriend. Hours had passed without Luz saying a word, a feat which Luz was secretly quite proud of.
“I really thought we’d manage to have a normal, nice time,” she continued, “but I ruined it, and now there’s a town being terrorized by roosters and it’s all my fault.”
Amity didn’t say anything for a few moments and then, unexpectedly, she started to laugh.
“Um,” Luz said. “Amity? Did you hit your head, too????”
“No, no,” Amity said between giggles. “It’s just- it’s so us. Who else would this happen to?????? We released fourteen roosters onto an unsuspecting town in the middle of the night, and your car is covered in shit. I really should’ve expected something like this.” “So...you’re not mad?”
“I was,” Amity admitted. “In the car, I was kind of pissed. I mean, you did wake me up in the middle of the night, which, as you know, is never a good idea, and we did have to flee our romantic trip like criminals. But then I started thinking, and, I don’t know.” She smiled almost shyly at Luz.
“I knew what I was getting into when I told you I loved you,” she said simply. “And I’m happy being with you, even if I did have to face one of my worst fears.”
“Oh my god,” Luz said, lower lip trembling. “You’re gonna make me cry.”
“Don’t go all soft on me now,” Amity said, rolling her eyes with a smile.
Luz launched herself at Amity, and they fell over, rolling across the carpet a few times before finally landing next to each other on the floor. Luz touched her forehead to Amity’s. “I’ll always be soft when it comes to you,” she said.
“Gay,” Amity whispered back, but leaned forward and captured Luz’s mouth with hers.
After the day they’d had, neither of them had the energy to get up, so they ended up sleeping on the floor that night, cuddled up on a blanket next to the fire.
“Happy anniversary,” Luz mumbled sleepily into Amity’s neck right before she drifted off to sleep.
“Happy anniversary,” Amity answered.
Despite it all, they both fell asleep with smiles on their faces.

traitor. (sokka x f!reader) pt 16
part 1 | part 15 | part 17
TW: blood & death. PLEASE heed these warnings
A/N: lmao you guys thought that last chapter was angsty?
Everything had gone back to normal the next morning; it was like nothing had changed. Y/N didn’t know how to feel about it. On one hand she was grateful that they were able to go about their days like they always had, on the other hand she wished that they had achieved something more. If only Y/N could have opened her damn mouth. At which point she had to remind herself that there’s a very large possibility that Sokka liked Suki which sent her head spiraling into a completely different and unwanted direction that she avoided thinking about at all costs. What did it mean for her to like two people that might like each other? Honestly, Y/N had never realized her life was so complicated. In fact, Y/N had almost convinced herself their midnight confessions were a dream until a week later when they were flying on Appa and Sokka leaned close to her.
“Do you think we’ll camp by a river we can skip rocks at?”
Y/N cocked one eyebrow. Sokka already knew the answer. He didn’t need her to tell him they always camped near water. “I hope so,” she replied.
The wind was howling in their ears enough that Y/N didn’t think anyone would hear but Toph scoffed from her place near the edge of the saddle. “When do you guys go out and skip rocks?”
At the sound of Toph’s voice, Aang and Katara turned to look at them.
“Uhhh…” Sokka scratched the back of his neck nervously.
“Sometimes when we’re not sparring we do fun things!” Y/N said defensively.
“What other fun things do you get up to?” Toph’s voice was innocent, but her face was mischievous. She knew exactly what she was asking. Y/N could hear Aang snicker from Appa’s head.
Y/N noticed Sokka scooted farther away from her in the saddle, keeping a very appropriate distance between the two of them, his cheeks were a fiery red. She didn’t give Toph the satisfaction of an answer. Mostly because she didn’t even know what to say back. Hahah, Toph, I wish!! Y/N groaned internally at the thought.
Y/N caught Katara’s eye from the front of the saddle. The girl narrowed her eyes at Y/N. Y/N blinked and looked towards the clouds, when she looked back Katara was still staring at her. She flicked her eyes between Sokka and Y/N in wordless conversation. You two?
Y/N furrowed her brow, glancing at Sokka and then returning to Katara. Y/N shook her head violently. No way!
Katara raised a solitary eyebrow and smiled. Her thoughts were clear, I don’t believe it.
If the embarrassment of a one-sided crush wasn’t enough, now if Katara got a hold of Sokka, Y/N would get to hear him adamantly deny liking her. Y/N slid down in the saddle until her head rested on the edge. Oh endless sleep, take me now! She begged the spirits. None of them ever got back to her.
“You guys, it’s your turn to go to town to get food.” Y/N turned around from where she was setting up her sleeping bag to look at Katara.
“Who’s ‘you guys’?” She asked.
“You and Sokka.” Aang floated a moonpeach towards Momo who snatched it out of the air and tore into it.
Y/N groaned and flopped down on her blankets. She looked towards the sky. There was probably a few hours before sunset. “But it’ll be dark by the time we get back,” She pouted.
“Then I guess we just won’t eat tonight,” Toph snarked. She was laying back on the bare dirt with one leg crossed over the other. Y/N kicked out her leg at Toph’s ankle making her legs fall to the ground. Toph waved a finger and a rock shot up from under Y/N’s sleeping bag, knocking her in the head.
Y/N sucked in a sharp inhale. “Toph, I don’t care if you’re twelve and blind, I’ll still punch you in the face.”
“Do it.” Toph dared.
A bag of coins was dropped next to Y/N on the ground before she could get up and threaten Toph properly. Katara stood above her with her hands on her hips. “Maybe the next time you mouth off,” Y/N said as she looked at Katara with a sweet grin.
She grabbed her sword and the money and at the last minute leaned over and flicked Toph on the forehead. She ran away quickly only to be tripped by a stone that wasn’t there a second before hand.
Y/N sprawled on the ground. She lifted her head just enough to yell, “Aang, it’s not FUNNY!”
She rolled to her feet and shot a glare back at the others who were trying to contain their laughter and went off to find Sokka who was collecting firewood. She caught him just as he was heading out of the small strip of woods they were near.
Her eyes immediately bounced down to look at his bare arms and his bulging bicep. Y/N looked away quickly and gave him a tight-lipped smile. “Hey, we’re on shopping duty.” She lifted the pouch of coins and jingled it.
“Oh. Okay, here take some.” Sokka unceremoniously dumped half of the logs he was carrying into her arms, ignoring her protests. “We’ll drop that off at camp first and then leave.”
Y/N hummed. “I don’t think I wanna go back. I pissed Toph off and I think she’s got a rock for me to stub my toe on ready and waiting.” Y/N pointed at her already scraped knee.
Sokka chuckled. “We have to get Appa anyways, come on. I’ll protect you.” He wiggled his eyebrows.
Y/N’s heart fluttered in her chest. Of course, she knew Sokka was just joking. “My hero,” she said sarcastically.
---
Y/N hefted the basket in her arms and peered over the top to read the list in her hands. “Do we have everything?”
Sokka looked into her basket and then into his. “I think so. Let’s go back, it’s getting dark.” He was right; the sky was red with fading light. If they wanted to make it back to Appa before the sun set completely, they’d have to hurry.
Y/N knew the moment they left the streets of that town something was bound to go wrong. That niggling intuition of hers, the one that made her ears ring and the hair on her neck to stand up, was at full attention. They’d reached the woods. Trees lined a small trail and up a good sized hill was Appa waiting for them in a cave.
Y/N heard a stick snap behind her, but when she whipped her head around there was nothing there.
“What’s up?” Sokka turned his head to join her, giving her a confused glance as he swung his head around.
“Uh, nothing. I think.” Y/N shook her head and faced forward again. She quickened her pace a touch and Sokka easily caught up with her. Y/N kept her ears pricked for the slightest of sounds around them. She worked to drown out the regular noises like the cicada-bats and the occasional badger-frog and listen for the more unusual sounds; the breaking of twigs under feet, swords being pulled from their sheaths, bowstrings being pulled back…
Then she heard it, the unmistakable sound of a heavy boot on packed dirt. Y/N turned to face them and threw her basket to the side. Damn, the dumplings and the fruit, she’d pay Katara back personally if she and Sokka didn’t die.
“Sokka, we have a slight problem,” Y/N warned. In front of her was a short man. She could see the sword at his waist but his face was hidden by a broad brimmed hat. Only then did she realize she had seen the same man in the market. She recognized the hat from the stand where they got the fish and the stand where they had bought vegetables for Aang.
Sokka’s back bumped into hers. “We got a slight problem from this direction too, Princess.”
Y/N didn’t even spare a glance over Sokka’s shoulder. “Two on two wouldn’t have been so bad if you’d remembered to bring your sword,” Y/N chastised quietly.
Sokka grumbled something intelligible and Y/N drew her sword. “Who are you? What do you want?” She shouted at the man in front of her. Slowly, Sokka began to shift around to her right side. She saw why, the man in front of them was circling the two of them. He only stopped once he reached his companion.
“I think it’s obvious what we’re here for,” the first one said.
Y/N sneered. “Not really. You saw us at the market, we spent almost all of our money on food. If you wanted to rob us you should have done it then.”
“They were following us?” Sokka elbowed her in the side.
“Shut up,” Y/N growled.
“We’re here for the girl who betrayed her nation.”
---
Y/N stopped breathing. They’d found her. They’d caught her. Even with traveling to a new place everyday and the fancy clothes and the cut hair, someone still recognized her. Y/N could feel herself starting to spiral. She knew this would happen, she told them this would happen...
It was taking too long for her to say something, so Sokka stepped in. “We don’t know what you’re talking about.”
The second man chuckled at them.
“She does.” The first man had drawn his sword and pointed it at Y/N who snapped her jaw shut. “You think with that new haircut that I wouldn’t recognize you? I’d know those pretty eyes of yours anywhere.”
Y/N’s breathing quickened and a shudder rolled through her body. Who was behind the shadow of that hat? Who knew her face so well? But that wasn’t the only thought running through her mind. She was racing to think of a solution to the problem at hand. It was one on two. She had to get Sokka out of there. He wouldn’t do anything but keep her distracted. She was far too invested in his life for him to stick around.
Y/N shoved Sokka away from her. “Go! Run and get Appa. Get the others!”
Sokka didn’t stop to question her and Y/N was oh so grateful.
---
She went for the second man who had yet to pull a weapon. She understood why he hadn’t pulled a weapon when she got within ten feet of him and a knife sliced through the slide of her skirt, ripping the material. Lovely, she thought. A knife thrower like Mai.
The knives were thrown so hard they were almost invisible and she used all her concentration to block them and knock them down. When she got close enough, he pulled a dagger to fight her off with but he was fat and much too slow to be fighting sword against dagger. Her blade pushed cleanly through his abdomen. He fell heavily to the ground, a pool of blood pushing out from underneath him.
Y/N smacked a hand over her mouth and willed herself not to throw up even as bile built up in the back of her throat.
“Nicely done,” the other man said.
Y/N gasped and let out a shuddering breath. Why was he just standing there, watching her kill his friend?
He lifted off his hat and threw it to the side and the breath was knocked out of her all over again. “Kaito.”
---
Kaito flipped the blade over in his hand as he walked closer to her. Y/N walked backwards until she could no more. “You’re sticking to the shorter attacks like I suggested. That’s good.”
“W–why did you let me kill him!” she screamed. It had been easy. Kaito didn’t even try to help.
Kaito shrugged and looked at his dead companion. “I wanted the reward money for myself. He won’t mind.”
Kaito’s first blow nearly knocked her to her knees and she realized stupidly that this was the real deal. This wasn’t a sparring match on the ship a month ago where Kaito went easy on her; this was the two of them fighting for their lives. This was the match he had patiently explained to her, what seemed like a lifetime ago. She had to win. She could not let the others come back to her dead body in the woods. She wouldn’t make Sokka have to see that. Not after what he told her a week ago. She was not going to let his biggest fear come true.
---
Blow by blow they were evenly matched. Y/N fighting for her life, Kaito for his honor. He talked while they fought, anything to distract her or throw her off so he could get a stab in. “We’ve been following you for a while. Heard about a little Fire Nation girl who blew up a factory. I knew that’d be you.”
“That was The Painted Lady,” Y/N grumbled as she blocked a swift uppercut. Y/N’s energy was fading fast. She felt like she was being drained by the second. She was sweating, her heart was pounding, her vision blurred with adrenaline.
She side-stepped and allowed his sword to slice the flesh of her left arm so she could stab at his bum leg. Kaito screamed and fell, clutching his knee. Y/N kicked his sword away in a cloud of dust. She held her sword out threateningly, already beginning to back up to make a run for it. “You aren’t going to keep following us.”
Kaito chuckled darkly. “I’m never going to stop hunting you down. No one will. I’m a soldier and I follow my orders. The penalty for treason is death, and that’s what a traitor like you deserves. You don’t have long anyways,” He smirked.
Y/N saw red. Those words echoed in her head over and over. Traitor. That was her label for choosing the side of the light, the side that believed in harmony and peace. Well then, let it be.
Kaito slumped face first into the dirt, his head lolling at an unnatural angle. Y/N’s sword was tipped with fresh blood.
Y/N bent to retrieve his sword from the ground when a stitch tore through her side. It felt like a pulled muscle but that was not a pulled muscle when she looked down; that was a knife in her side. So that’s what Kaito meant by ‘she didn’t have long’.
---
Y/N let out a hysterical laugh as she pulled the knife out. Blood began to seep out quickly and she vaguely wondered if she should have done that. It didn’t hurt but–woah–that was a lot of blood. The knife slipped from her fingers to the ground. That guy must have had better aim than she thought.
---
Y/N blinked and Sokka was shaking her shoulders. Where did he come from? His mouth was forming words that Y/N could not hear.
“What?” She asked loudly. That ringing in her ears was loud.
“I was yelling at you not to pull it out!”
“Oh.”
Sokka grabbed her jaw with one hand, forcing her to look directly at him. “Focus! Are you okay?!”
Y/N smiled. His eyes were such a pretty blue. Like the deep ocean or the eastern sky when the sun was setting or– “I am now.”
“Yeah, okay.” Sokka peeled her fingers away from her sword and sheathed it. He wrapped her arm around his shoulder and slipped his around her waist. Y/N didn’t know why, she didn’t feel like she needed help walking.
---
That fuzzy-brained, painless period didn’t last long.
“Sokka,” Y/N sobbed. She grabbed onto a tree and would have slid down to her knees if Sokka hadn’t been there to catch her. Her other hand clutched her side. “I can’t–I can’t go any further.” She gasped as a sharp pain shot through her side. Every time she breathed it was worse and she was hyperventilating. She squeezed her eyes shut and a few tears leaked out. When she opened her eyes, Sokka was kneeling beside her with a very uncharacteristic serious look on his face. Y/N could have laughed if she wasn’t in so much pain.
“Just a little farther. We have to get back to Katara.” He shook his head. “Giving up is not an option.”
“Okay, okay.” Y/N scrubbed her face. As she looked to him her chin began to wobble with an impending rush of tears. “I’m scared,” she murmured. It was not something she would normally admit but this was anything but a normal moment. Kaito’s words from the ship echoed in her mind: she had never actually had to face her own death before and now she was.
“Me too.” Sokka’s face was stoic, but she could hear the shaking of his voice. She held out her hand that wasn’t trying to stop blood from gushing out of her side and Sokka hauled her to her feet.
---
Y/N was pretty sure in the last one hundred yards it took to get to Appa, Sokka and Y/N tripped over every single root in that part of the forest. It was pitch black, their way only lit by the faint lines of the moon through the tree branches.
Y/N was relying more and more on Sokka’s strength to get her back to Appa; he was half-carrying her and they were both breathing heavily.
Appa grunted when they reached him. Y/N didn’t know the context of said grunt. Was he mad that it took them so long? Was he worried because he could smell blood? She was thinking about asking Aang if he could tell what Appa meant by the certain noises he made when Sokka snapped her out of her thoughts.
“Y/N!” He said sharply. She looked up at him from where she was standing. When did he climb up to the saddle? Y/N started climbing up after him and Sokka reached down to help her. Her arms felt like they weighed a thousand pounds and under any other circumstances her face might have flushed pink if Sokka had grabbed the back of her thigh like he just did to haul her in. She collapsed onto her back, staring at the stars.
Y/N was pretty sure that Sokka was talking to her but his voice was distorted like she was underwater. Every blink of her eyes lasted longer until she didn’t have the energy to open them anymore.
Her last thought before fading to black was “Who’s Yue?”
---
Y/N woke up sweating. She automatically began kicking the blankets off, anything to get the heat away from her; she felt like she was suffocating. The motion set off a familiar pain in her left side that left her gasping for air. Finally, after she threw the last fur off, she stubbornly pulled herself to a sitting position. She looked around her. She didn’t remember falling asleep in a tent. Wait, was this Sokka’s tent?!
Y/N pressed a hand against her side, the pressure made it feel better and worse, and crawled to the tent opening. She pulled back one of the flaps just as someone was barreling in.
“Sokka?
“Y/N?”
“I thought I heard you wake up!” he exclaimed, pulling her in for a tight hug.
Y/N wrapped her arms around him and rested her chin on his shoulder. Her head was throbbing worse than the first time she drank rice wine. “What happened?”
Sokka ignored the question and his arms tightened around her. “How do you feel?”
“I’m...okay.” Pieces of the night before were beginning to flood back. Kaito and knives. “I am so sorry for scaring you like that.”
Y/N pulled back from their hug. Their faces were inches apart. She could feel the heat of Sokka’s breath on her cheek. Y/N’s eyes flicker to his lips and then back up to his eyes. Slowly, she backed away from him, but Sokka had other ideas. He grasped her face with both hands pressed his lips against hers. Y/N felt her stomach drop and she squeezed her eyes shut. Maybe she was dreaming.
He pulled back sooner than Y/N would have liked, but left his hands on her cheeks, tracing over her cheekbone lightly with his thumb. There was a dazed expression on his face.
He immediately jerked his hands away and clasped them in his lap when he noticed her widened eyes. “I’m so sorry. Spirits! I should have asked! I just couldn’t–last night, I couldn’t leave you! I got half way back to Appa and turned around! You almost died and I almost didn’t get to tell you I liked you.” Sokka ran a hand down his face. “Well, I guess I’m telling you now.”
Y/N sat there in stunned silence. Sokka liked her. Sokka liked her. Not anyone else. Y/N was starting to wonder if she was having some type of vivid hallucination from blood loss. She studied Sokka’s face which looked like he wanted to evaporate on the spot.
“I’ll just go get the others and tell them you’re awake–” Sokka had started to stand up to leave but Y/N grabbed his hand and pulled him back down. She wasted no time in wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him in for another kiss.
“I like you too, Sokka,” Y/N mumbled against his lips.

A/N: Did you really think we were going to get out of this with no ‘almost dying’ action?

Prompt 30
You met Cordelia at your coffee shop one late evening just before close. A figure dressed in black with the most blinding smile and bouncy golden locks rushing towards you.
“Oh no! Are you closed?” She had asked, slightly out of breath. You could see the tiredness in her chocolate browns and the brush of a darker shade under her eyes indicating the lack of sleep. If you weren’t paying such close attention you probably wouldn’t have noticed due to her beautiful pearly whites; as she throws you another smile.
“I’m afraid we are.” You confirm with some sympathy. This woman clearly needed a coffee or two. The now small frown and grimace on the strangers face makes you backtrack hating to see such an expression on a beautiful woman. She smiles her thanks and begins to turn away but before she can leave your brain caught up with itself.
“But the pot is still brewing inside, if you would like a cup. On the house.” You rush out, not wanting this mysterious woman to leave. She turns back around and sighs in relief and whispers “Thank you, I’d love that.” before following you into the shop. One cup turned into three and before you knew it the night had gotten darker and the usual busy streets of New Orleans had grown quieter. .
“Oh god, I’ve kept you from finishing. I’m so sorry please let me at least pay for the last cup.” She insisted, digging into her purse. You place a hand gently on top of hers pausing her search.
“It’s okay, I much preferred the company over sleep anyway.” You reassure, with a teasing smirk. She bites her bottom lip softly as she eyed your hand.
“Okay, well at least let me pay for dinner. Tomorrow night?” She offers, copying your smirk.
“Oh so forward, Ms.Goode. I could be in a very committed relationship for all you know.” You joke, watching her laugh loudly her hand landing on top of your own across the table.
“Darling, if you were in a committed relationship. This spark between us wouldn’t be glowing as bright as it is in this very moment,” She states, confidently. Her fingers brushing lightly across your own making you blush at her statement, knowing how true it is.
“So tomorrow night?”
That was over a year ago and things had been getting better and better with each passing date and heated kiss. You had discovered during that first meeting that Cordelia runs the academy for gifted young witches across town as headmistress which you still tease her to this day for.
“Oh do you have an office, headmistress. I’ve always wanted to have sex on a desk.” You’d teased her a few months back making her laugh and shake her head at your vulgar comment but you saw the lustful glint in her eyes.
The dates had turned from dinner to late evening drinks to sleepovers at your apartment downtown whenever Cordelia could get away from the school for the night. However, whenever you mentioned staying over at the house while you lay next to each other in your large bed, Cordelia was quick to reject the idea and would change the subject. You knew about the school and its purpose, everyone did since Delia aired it all on television but you masked your hurt and put it down to having so many girls running around the school and with her being headmistress it didn’t give the right impression to have a woman sneaking out in the early hours.
Some of the older girls knew about your relationship with their friend/supreme and would come by the shop most days for their daily coffee run, apparently teaching young witches everyday requires a lot of caffeine and they got to meet you, which in their opinion was bonus as it was nice to get to know the woman who’d been keeping their friend/supreme in a daydream with a secret smile on her face most days around the academy.
“She just has this light glow around her whenever we mention you… it’s pretty gay if you ask me but whatever, you’re kinda cool so I guess it’s cute.” Madison had commented one day in the shop, fighting back a genuine smile.
Over the last few weeks though, you started to feel that Cordelia had been avoiding you in some way. Your usual meet up twice a week at the coffee shop seemed to stop, the reasons valid as she did run a school after all but when the texts stopped or where the bear minimum and the other cup across from you grew colder after every passing minute you realised her not turning up wasn’t just because of her duty as headmistresses, she was avoiding you. That’s when you decided to show up at the academy, determined to speak to her in person and not through rushed phone calls. You approach the black gates cautiously, the aura around the building so strong you feel an overwhelming sense of power before even stepping foot onto the grounds.
‘Maybe this was a bad idea.’ You doubt to yourself as the gates begin to open in front of you.
You approach cautiously to the front door and knock, hoping that Cordelia answers. The door creaks open revealing one of the familiar faces that you’re used to seeing at the shop. Zoe stands by the door looking a little sheepish.
“Oh, hi Y/N. Does Cordelia know you are here?” She asks, her eyes darting around looking at anything but you. You frown at her sheepish behaviour. Usually, Zoe is the first one to approach you at the shop with a welcoming smile.
“Uh, hey Zoe! No, but I was hoping to speak with her, if she’s here?” You inform, trying to look over her slender shoulders into the hallway. Zoe begins to speak but the familiar voice of your lover beats her to it.
“Y/N? What are you doing here?” Delia asks, as Zoe slips away back into the house.
You take in her tired figure, her eyes no longer holding that sparkling glint. She tries to hide the wince as she leans heavily against the doorframe making you frown with worry.
“I’m sorry for showing up unannounced, I just needed to see you. I’ve been worried about you and clearly I was right to be,” You murmur, eyeing her slouched posture as she keeps a protective hand across her waist. She smiles reassuringly at you, trying to ease your worry but you know her too well now to be so ignorant to her quiet suffering.
“Delia, what’s wrong?” You question, leaving no room for protest. She shakes her head softly, again dismissing your concern.
“It’s nothing, darling. I haven’t been feeling well, is all. I’m sorry to have worried you.” She brushes off, reaching her other hand out to brush against your cheek. Her teary eyes dart across your face, as if taking in every detail lingering to memorise every freckle, every lash. You lean into her touch, craving the contact from her. Your eyes lock with her honey browns, searching for answers to her behaviour but she remains silent for a moment her lips twitching into a small smile before leaning in closer.
“How about a coffee?” She questions, removing her hand from your cheek and quickly wiping her own. “ I’m sure we have lots to discuss.” She states, stepping back into the house allowing you access. You step into the school and gape at the tall white walls full of aged paintings and grand staircase, wringing your fingers suddenly feeling inferior by the powerhouse that your lover runs.
A soft hand wraps gently around your own stopping your nervous habits before pulling you further through the oddly quiet house. Her hand is tight around yours, as if needing it to anchor herself, but you decide not to ask about her health again knowing you won’t get the answer you are after, the truth.
“Where are all the girls today?” Cordelia smiles gently and side glances at your awe expression as you take in more of the mystery house.
“A school trip with Myrtle and Queenie and some of the other girls like to use their free time shopping in the town centre. If you ask me, they just like to get out without me hovering over them.” She jokes, squeezing your hand to regain your attention from an old black and white photo showing a group of young witches.
“Those girls adore you Delia, I’m sure it’s just teenage girls wanting some freedom on the weekend like every other teenager.” You comfort, smiling knowingly at her mother hen instincts and how protective she can be over her own. She bumps her shoulder lightly against yours for teasing her a little before pushing open a large door.
“Is this your office?” You murmur, looking around the large room with glass panelled windows behind a wooden desk. You raise your eyebrow at the desk eyeing Delia, who stands by a drinks cabinet, pouring the brown liquid into two whiskey glasses. She smirks at your subtle nod at the desk joke you made a few months back as you walk over to her, taking the offered glass before sitting on the long white plush sofa gestured to your right. Delia sits elegantly in the oval chair across from you, confusing you at her attempt to keep some distance. Her eyes follow your movements as you take your first sip of the brown liquid.
“I want to apologise again for not messaging you, Y/N. I was being a coward by avoiding you and thinking it would work. I didn’t take into account your feelings and that was wrong of me.” She apologises, before taking a quick sip of her drink for dutch courage. You place yours onto the glass table that fills the gap between the two of you.
“Cordelia, I’m not a child. If you wanted to stop this, you could have just said so instead of stringing me along. I really like you Delia, like a fucking lot actually. I thought we were going somewhere with this,” you confess, your voice quiet and full of doubt. Thoughts spiral in your mind, doubt creeping in as you come to the conclusion that Delia may not reciprocate those feelings.
“I… Y/N, I like you a lot too. But I... I don’t think this is going to work. We are two very different people and not to mention your human.” She pauses as she processes her next words, her eyes full of sadness. “ I don’t think you realise just how fragile that makes you and I can’t always be around to protect you Y/N. So, I think we should end this before we get in too deep. I’m sorry darling.” Her chin trembles as she fights back her tears, her regal posture slouches as she leaves her chair and moves to crotch in front of you as you continue to stare at the white wall trying to collect your thoughts as tears fall freely. Her forehead rests softly against your knees as you blindly place your hands on top of her blonde locks.
“You knew this from the beginning… Why did you bother pursuing me? Did you think it would be funny, see if you could get the boring ol’ human girl to fall in love with you?” You say, suddenly feeling angry by her words. She lifts her head back shocked by your accusation and stands abruptly making you copy her position, leaving you both standing off to one another.
“You know that’s not true, Y/N. Don’t be so childish, I’m just trying to be realistic here. We tried and it didn’t work, why is this so hard for you to understand?” She spats, her hands gesturing wildly. “You know, you are just proving my point Y/N. You are so ignorant to everything around you, I’m the fucking supreme that comes with a lot of enemies and I can’t be concerned about you while also trying to protect the coven. I’m sorry you can’t seem to take this break up in a mature way.” She huffs.
“Why are you being like this?” You whisper, hands sagged to your side, defeated.
“I’m being a realist, Y/N. Maybe you should try it sometime.” Her words are harsh, as she holds your gaze, no longer showing those sweet signs of affection. You hold her gaze a little longer hoping to see her falter and retract her hurtful words but nothing else is said, which leaves you with your answer. You laugh humorlessly before heading for the office door, your hand wraps around the door handle before pausing.
“If this is your attempt at pushing me away, it won’t work.” You inform, loud enough for her to hear.
“Y/N, I’m not..ugh.” The painful groan that fills the room makes you turn quickly towards the source of the sound as you watch in terror Cordelia hunching over in pain, holding her stomach area tightly.
“Delia!” You launch forward ready to help her settle onto the long sofa you were previously sat on.
“Hey hey, you're okay. That’s it breath for me Delia, that’s my girl.” You comfort, whispering softly while brushing wild strands of blonde hair from her now pale face. Her eyes glossy as she watches you move to fill a glass of water for her. You gently tip the water into her mouth while she holds onto your wrist delicately whispering her gratitude, you stay crouched in front of her keeping a close eye on her as you take away the now empty glass.
“What’s going on Delia, I want the truth this time.” You enforce, brows furrowed in worry. She drops your gaze as she plays with the rings on your fingers, collecting her thoughts.
“When a new supreme raises the other must fall.” Her words full of strength and sorrow as free falling tears spill onto her pale cheeks.
“I.. I don’t understand. You’ve only been supreme for what five years, you must have gotten it wrong... No, no this isn’t happening. We gotta talk to Myrtle, she’ll know different. You can’t die Lia you… you-” The soft hand placed on your cheeks stops your rambling, knowing eyes fall onto your own broken ones as silent tears fall between you both.
“But we haven’t had enough time together,” you whisper weakly, leaning into her touch. The feeling of her skin against your own giving you the only comfort that’s available while Delia regains her strength from her dizzy spell. She smiles tearfully, brushing her thumb over the escaped tears.
“Then let’s make the most of it, I don’t want to spend my last how many months on earth avoiding you and regretting it.” Her eyes full of thought as she processes her next thought. “Let’s go somewhere, anywhere. I’m just so tired of all these negative thoughts and feelings, I want to fill these months with good, happy memories, with you and my girls, but I understand if you want to let this go now to avoid the hurt later on...” She murmurs leaning her head into the cushion, her face turned towards your own, suddenly vulnerable. The sudden urge to protect her and give her everything she wants overwhelms your instincts, making you launch forward to capture her wet lips with your own in a silent promise.
“I am going to make you the happiest woman, Cordelia Goode. I’m not going anywhere, you have me for as long as you are breathing and walking on this earth.” You vow against her salted lips.
There are still so many things left unsaid but in this moment you are willing to savour your time with this woman and be with her, to remember every twitch of her nose, every sparkle in those brown eyes and most importantly, giving her every reason to smile that breathtaking smile until she can no longer bear it. Because Cordelia Goode deserves all the happiness in the word and if the world can no longer keep her in it, you will be damn sure to give her everything in it and more for as long as you walk on it with her.
I’m sorry🙃x

Can I have your opinion? Which character is fit for 34 prompt? Because I want to request that but I don't know which character •́ ‿ ,•̀
Even I needed to think about this for a bit, but now I have a few in mind. Fiting characters would be Naruto, Sakura, Kushina, TenTen, Kiba, Hashirama, Gon, Killua, Pokkle, Finny, Alois and Dagger. But sadly you lit a fire inside of me and I felt the need to already write something with this Prompt. Feel free to request it with another one! I was between Finny and Dagger from Black Butler and couldn’t choose so I read the basic Hc’s I wrote for them. Dagger it is!
Warnings: Yandere themes, unhealthy mindset, unhealthy relationship, obsessiveness, delusions, clinginess, mentions of kidnapping
Prompt 34: “NO!! Please tell me what I did wrong so I can fix it, but don’t leave me!!!”
You were wondering what exactly you had done so wrong. Why were they all avoiding you? You had recently joined the Noah’s Ark circus, having a natural talent for bending your body in ways that some people had thought in the past that you had no bones and you had always dreamed about showing people your talent. You had been so happy when Joker had told you that you had been accepted to become a member and in the beginning everything had seemed good. You had quickly made friends with everyone in their, especially with Beast, Doll and Jumbo. Jumbo had been like an older brother to you and Doll had been like your little sister. Beast had been the person you could tell everything and she had told you quickly about her love for Joker and you had made it to your goal to bring both of them together. But since a few weeks everyone seemed to avoid you. Whenever you would try to talk to someone they would just quickly excuse themself and would walk away from you. Even your roommate had moved out of the tent!
At first you had tried to find out why they were avoiding you so intensely, but after some time you had given up. No one wanted to answer your question about what had happened and why they were avoiding you. Some had even started to panick when you had confronted them about it, looking like something terrible would happen to them in any moment. The only one who hadn’t avoided you so far was Dagger, but to be completely honest sometimes you wished he would. He was just so frustratingly clingy to you, always bombarded you with questions and complimented you on everything you did. At first you had found it sweet, but after some time it just annoyed you. Especially when he started yelling at someone because he thought this person did you wrong. You were of course thankful for him because Beast had once told you that he had been the member who had strongly insisted that you would join the circus and hadn’t stopped annoying Joker until he had finally agreed. But too much was too much!
Currently you were sitting somewhere outside the circus, having no interest in being ignored by the people in there. To be honest, judging by the grey clouds on the sky and the audible thunder in the distance it seemed like it would start to rain very soon, but you didn’t care. You just needed some fresh air. You sighed heavily, thinking about how happy you had been once with all of this. But now everything was ruined and what frustrated you the most was that you didn’t even know what it was. Even when the first raindrops started to fall from the sky, you didn’t make a motion to go back. You just stared sadly in the sky. Things had gone back to how they used to be when you were young. You had always been an outcast because of your abnormal flexibility and your parents had ignored your dreams of wanting to become part of a circus. You had never been accepted for who you really were. Recently you had even started to play with the thought of leaving the circus and trying your luck somewhere else. The only reason you had stayed here was because you had thought these guys were your new family, but it seemed like you had been wrong. You had already started to search for another circus and just yesterday you had found out that another circus had recently started looking for new artists. This circus wasn’t all that tall or famous like Noah’s Ark, but probably there you would be accepted.
“(y/n)!!! Where are you?!?!” A loud voice interrupted your thoughts and you turned confused around. Wasn’t that Dagger’s voice? Yeah, it was. The next moment you were able to see the young man running towards you with a terrified expression on his face, his makeup was smeared over his face because of the rain. “What are you doing out here?! You might catch a cold!!” He quickly lifted you up in his arms and started walking quickly back with you. “Uhhh...Dagger? I can walk on my own.”, you told him irritatedly. But he just ignored you and continued to carry you in his arms. You were even more confused when he didn’t let you down even after you had reached the circus. “Why didn’t you let me down? From here on I can walk on my own.”, you protested. “I’m bringing you to my tent.”, he stated firmly. “Huh? Why?” “Because you need someone to watch over you! What if you get sick and no one is there to take care of you?!” You scoffed and answered with dry humor in your voice:”Then blame my former roommate and Joker for it. I can take care of myself.” Once again Dagger ignored you and you just rolled your eyes. Might as well let him do what he wanted to do. At least he cared. As soon as you reached his tent, he immediately sat you down on his bed and started rummaging in his things before he pulled a towel out. He walked back to you, obviously wanting to rub you dry, but you grabbed the towel out of his head and hissed:’’I can do that myself!’’ You angrily started to rub yourself with the towel whilst Dagger was watching you. ‘‘Why were you out there in the cold?!’’ You glared for a short moment at him before you replied with a bitter voice:’’Are you blind or something like this? Didn’t you notice how everyone keeps avoiding me? I don’t even know what happened! No one seems to care for me anymore! Just like my parents and all these other people!’’ You turned your gaze towards the ground and just glared at it.
‘‘B-but that isn’t true!!! I care!! I care so much for you!!!’’, Dagger suddenly yelled and you flinched surprised at his loud voice and looked up. Dagger had a desperate expression on his face and almost looked like he was about to cry. You raised irritated an eyebrow. What had gotten into him so suddenly? ‘‘I don’t understand...’’, you said slowly. Dagger grabbed both of your hands in his and pressed them against his chest. ‘‘Can you feel my heartbeat?!” You could. His heart was racing against his chest and for a short moment you wondered if this speed could be considered as healthy, but you couldn’t ask him if he was feeling alright because he continued in a panicked voice:”My heart always beats that fast when I’m near you! I love you!! I’ve loved you since the first moment I saw you!” You were speechless. He loved you?! “But...I thought you loved Be-” He didn’t let you finish your sentence and yelled frustrated:”No!! I don’t love Beast!! I never did!! There was probably a time when I thought I did, but I realized that I never felt love for her! I only love you! No one else! The moment I saw you was the moment I knew we were meant to be together! You’re for me and I’m for you! Don’t you think so too??” You stared with wide eyes at him. What was wrong with this dude? What was he talking about? Meant to be together? Had he lost his mind?! “Uhhmm...” How were you supposed to respond to that? Would trying to reason with him be useful? Probably not. The look in his eyes told you that Dagger was caught in his own delusions. Well then, might as well try it the harsher way.
“I’m sorry Dagger, but I don’t feel the same.” His bright and hopeful expression instantly dropped. “W-what?”, he asked with a trembling voice. You bit your bottom lip, feeling a bit guilty. “Listen, I feel fluttered, but...I think you’re seeing it the wrong way. You don’t seriously believe that we were meant to be together, do you? If you do, then you’re just a dumb boy with your head up on some cloud.” With each cruel word you said to him he looked closer to starting to cry. “By the way, I wanted to leave this place anyways. I found out that there’s another circus looking for some new artists. So you won’t even see me again. I was planning to leave tomorrow.” Your heart clenched in your chest when you saw the tears dropping down his face, but this guy here needed to learn that his little dream land was nothing, but an imagination. Dagger needed to learn to grow up. “Goodbye Dagger.”, you said and turned around, planning to leave his tent. “NO!! Please tell me what I did wrong so I can fix it, but don’t leave me!!!”
He hugged you from behind and you felt his tears dropping on your clothes. You sighed. “Dagger, it isn’t your fault. It’s just that I can’t stand it to be always ignored by the other members.”, you explained whilst trying to wriggle free from his grip. But suddenly you were turned around by him. “You don’t need them! You only need me! I already told you that we were born for each other! But you don’t seem to understand that even after I made sure that no one would try to take you away from me!” You froze when you heard his last sentence, an unsettling suspicion slowly forming in your head. “Dagger,”, you started slowly, slight fear audible in your voice:”what do you mean by this?” “You’re perfect! Beautiful! Talented! You’re everything someone could look for! And I knew that they all would try to take you away from me so I needed to assure that they wouldn’t do anything! I just wanted you to help realizing that I’m the one you’re destinied to be with!” Realization strucked you and you started to shake. “Y-you threatened them, didn’t you?” Dagger quickly shook his head. “No, I didn’t! I just made sure that they wouldn’t harm you!” He slowly pulled you closer to him and engulfed you in a tight hug. “This world is filled with bad people...I just want to protect you.”
Now you were sure that he had lost his mind. “What the hell are you saying?! Are you insane?! Do you even hear the bullshit you’re-” Dagger cut you off by pressing his lips on yours. You could tell that he had wanted to do this for some time now because of the desperation in it. After a moment he pulled away, his eyes literally screaming lovesick. “You just don’t understand yet. But don’t worry, I’ll help you realize that you only need me.” It scared you how confident he sounded and looked. He really believed that shit! “But I do need to admit that leaving this place with you does sound good.”, he told you. “E-excuse you?!”, you shouted shocked. “Very simple,”, Dagger said with a huge grin on his face”like this I can bring you to a place where no one else will be able to take you away from me!”

The Marriage Project (4)
Hi everyone! Sorry this came late! I was soooo busy this week that I had to push this chapter back but I’m hoping to drop chapter 5 on Friday next week like normal. As listed in the warnings, this chapter has some heavier topics than the other 3 but the scene is relatively mild and not too descriptive.
Story Masterlist
Word Count: 2808
Warnings: Mentions of verbal s*exual harassment, mentions of fighting/injury, strong language, angst
% approximately the last weekend in September %
You sat at the back of the team bus on the way to the hotel, since the tournament was all day Saturday. You shared a row with Julia and was working on some calculus homework and listening to music while she talked to someone across the aisle.
When you finished, you took out your headphones and looked over at her. She was now playing on her phone.
“Hey, do you wanna bunk together tonight? I don’t feel like sharing a bed with Emily this week.” you whispered, making sure the freshman sitting a few rows up couldn’t hear you.
“Yeah sure. I was actually gonna ask you the same anyways.”
You were one of only two seniors on the team, so you and the other senior, Anna, were asked to split up and chaperone the girls whose parents weren’t coming to the tournament. Both of your rooms had three other people.
Once the team got checked into the hotel, you all went to dinner at a nearby chain restaurant where you, Julia, Anna, and a few other girls sat at a table together joking around.
After dinner, the team headed back to the hotel and were allowed to either hang in the lobby or your rooms, so long as you weren’t disruptive and stayed in pairs. You stayed in the lobby for a while but decided to go prepare for bed around 10.
Julia tagged along as your buddy, not saying much as you rode the elevator up.
After changing and brushing your teeth, you sat at one corner of the bed looking into a wall-mounted mirror as you combed your hair to pull it into a braid. Julia had been watching the TV when she piped up.
“Hey, y/n?”
“Yeah?” you didn’t look back at her.
“What’s going on between you and Tom?”
You paused mid-braid, then continued.
“What do you mean?” your brows furrowed as you finished off the braid, wrapping the end with a hair tie.
“It’s just… you guys have seemed super close lately, and Sam said you’re at their house pretty much every weekend now. I thought you guys hated each other or something.”
You turned your body to look at her.
“Uhhhh we definitely still hate each other. We’re just partnered up for this semester-long marriage project in home ec. It’s whatever.”
“Oh. Okay then. It just seemed like something else I guess.”
Something else?
“Wait, what are you trying to say? Do you think we’re, like, dating or something?”
“Well you guys go to almost every one of each other’s games. And Sam said their mom loves you so it just seemed like… I don’t know.”
“Whoever thinks we more than hate each other is wrong. Just the idea of him and I together grosses me out so much. Once this semester is over, he and I probably won’t speak to each other again until the day I’m chosen valedictorian over him.”
“Okay, well, I’ll let Sam kn-”
She was cut off by the sound of the door opening as the two freshman girls who were taking the other bed came in giggling.
Glad to finally be out of that conversation.
After a few more random conversations, you all decided to go to bed and rest up for the tournament early the next morning.
It’s when you rolled over onto your side to face the wall that thoughts of your conversation with Julia began racing. Did people really think something other than a fake marriage was going on with Tom?
Exhaustion got the best of you before you could dwell on it further.
%
You sat in calculus Monday morning listening to the announcements. Your name and a couple others were listed off from the winning sports. The team had won, and you’d gotten tournament MVP.
The class congratulated you, so you jokingly did a royal wave around the room, stopping to look at Tom.
“That’s how it’s done. You guys may have won too, but I think I beat you out this time.”
“Yeah, good job.”
What. Why was he congratulating you?
“Uhhh. You don’t have anything else to say? No insult, no witty clapback? Who are you and what have you done to the Tom Holland I know and hate?”
He shrugged.
“I just don’t have anything negative to say. I mean, you got MVP and the team won. That’s pretty impressive.”
Now you knew something was up. In all your years of knowing Tom, he’d never been this nice. Sure, he’d sometimes say “nice shot!” when you scored more than one goal in soccer but he usually was able to find a way to pick on you at the same time.
You were working on a new sewing project in home ec later, sharing what happened with Alexis.
“Maybe he’s just not feeling well or something? He probably just couldn’t think up something fast enough,” she suggested.
“You don’t get it, Lex. It was so not like him. After Thursday, and what Julia said Friday night, something weird is going on, and I’m going to get to the bottom of it.”
Wondering if anything was out of the ordinary with him now, you looked over to where he was, only to find him looking back at you.
Weird.
In senior art that afternoon, you worked on an acrylic beach landscape you’d been doing with a palette knife.
You were listening to music and intently focused when you felt a presence loom over you and noticed a hand resting on either side of you.
You ripped out an earbud and turned to see Tom leaning over your seated position, looking at your artwork.
“What the- Tom! What in the hell are you doing?” you pushed him off you and he stepped next to your chair, arms folded over his chest.
“Just looking to see how you were doing, princess. I think it needs a sailboat.”
“Okay first of all I’m not even done but like… why were you leaning over me like that? I was kinda in my zone there.”
He uncrossed his arms and pointed one had around the canvas.
“Well I was mostly coming over to say you had a little something right,” he poked a finger from his other hand onto your nose, leaving a dot of paint, “there.”
“Thomas Holland. If you don’t get the hell away from me and my artwork right this second I will literally beat you up in front of this entire class. You know it’s true too.” you threatened through grinding teeth.
“Are we having a problem over here?” your art teacher interjected, causing you to both look at her. You pointed at your nose.
“Mr. Holland here doesn’t know how to keep his hands to himself.”
“Tom. You know how I feel about messing around with art supplies. Now go sit down, you still have a lot to go on your own painting.”
He sighed and headed back to his seat.
“Y/n, why don’t you go wash that off real quick. I’ll keep an eye on your canvas for you.”
You got up, brushing past Tom. First, he’d been super nice this morning, and now he was putting paint on your nose like a little kid?
It was infuriating to think about.
Wednesday, it was like he was even worse.
He flipped between being the nicest guy ever to trying to humiliate you every chance he got.
The final straw was during your free period when you’d typically have volleyball practice (it was a game day). You’d walked by some of the football team who were practicing on the field and some players tried to catcall you, yelling disgusting sexist comments and whistling. Instead of sticking up for you, Tom just looked at you sheepishly as they laughed.
You just stuck up a middle finger and kept walking, as you were running errands for your volleyball coach and didn’t want to be too long.
After school, you stormed out of the school building and caught sight of him leaning against his car talking to a few of the guys from before as his brothers stood around nearby.
When you were about 20 feet away when you yelled out at him.
“Hey Tom! What the hell?”
His conversation paused and he turned to you. The other guys laughed and waved him bye as you approached.
“I’m sorry, but what?” he asked when you reached his car. You tossed your volleyball bag onto the asphalt.
“What is wrong with you? First you’re super nice to me, then I catch you staring at me in class and then the whole paint thing, and that was just Monday. Then today you flip from nice to asshole, and just sit idly by when your friends fucking harass me!?”
“I was just messing around like we always do! And come on, it was just a whistle and a couple jokes, y/n.”
“That’s the thing! It’s not just a whistle or a joke! Call it that when you read the countless stories of women who are attacked for simply ignoring a guy or trying to stand up for herself! I SHOULDN’T HAVE TO BEG YOU AND EVERY OTHER MAN FOR SOME SIMPLE RESPECT!” you were yelling and breathing hard. “I guess I thought that after the past few weeks we had come to some kind of an understanding, but apparently I was wrong. You’re still the biggest asshole I know.”
“Y/n, please. You know I would never do anything to actually harm you, right? I’ll talk to the guys and figure it out. I mean, what else do you want me to do?”
“Maybe we should get a ‘divorce’ on this stupid project. It’s obviously not working out,” you spat.
“I- okay.”
You were taken aback. Did he really just agree?
“Okay? That’s all you have to say? You really want to go through with it?”
“Well, if it’s what you feel is best, I’m not going to stop you from talking to Mrs. Flynn.”
“Okay, then. I’ll see what she wants us to do.” you said, much more calmly.
With that, you picked up your bag and walked off, wanting to cool down before your game.
“Damn, Tom. That’s rough,” Harry said once you were out of earshot.
“Yeah, dude. You should’ve stood up for her. That’s not cool,” Sam added.
Tom hung his head for a minute, not sure what to think, then straightened up, shaking it angrily.
“You’re right. She’s right. I need to find those guys.”
%
Things had cooled down for you by the time you’d eaten a snack and hung out with some of the team for a little bit. You didn’t tell anyone what had happened, but by the way Julia kept looking at you, you figured Sam had told her.
An hour before game time, you went to go put on your kneepads and volleyball shoes. As you passed through the gym, Julia hopped up from her seat next to her boyfriend and rushed up to you.
“Whatever Sam said, I’m over it now. I’m just going to channel it into the game” you told her before she could get a word out.
“I just wanted to make sure you’re okay. Sam said you seemed pretty shaken up.”
“Look, jules, I know you’re trying to help, but now isn’t the time. I just need to focus on one thing at a time, okay? Let’s just win this and then maybe later we can talk.”
You sped up past her to where the group was in a circle, already doing stretches. You felt bad for blowing her off, but you had other things to worry about.
%
Your team lost the first set for the first time all season. You just couldn’t get your head in the game. You had fumbled a few sets and sent your hand into the net while hitting not once, but twice. You’d even sent a serve straight back to the wall on the other side of the gym.
You were now sitting on the bench listening to your coach yell at you, taking it all in. You were looking at her directly when a figure coming through the door caught your eye. It was Tom.
You tried to pay attention to coach, but the second she turned her attention to someone else, you glanced at him sitting by his brother.
His lip was split and he caressed one hand in the other. His hair was also all over the place and one cheek swelled slightly.
Did he get into a fight?
Even though you were still mad, something inside you appreciated his presence. You also felt concerned, but obviously couldn’t do anything about it from the bench.
You instead decided to do what you knew best, which was win. The team came back in the end and did just that. A few people were congratulating you when you saw Tom and Sam leave the gym.
“Uh, sorry guys but I need to go do something. See y’all tomorrow though!”
You jogged into the hall, frantically looking both ways before seeing them.
“Wait! Tom!” you called, running to catch up with them. They stopped, Tom not making eye contact with you when he turned as Sam watched cautiously.
He looked worse up close.
Where his cheek had only seemed swollen before, now there was a blue and purple bruise beginning to form, surrounded by pink inflamed tissue. His bottom lip also was red and puffy around the split, and when you glanced at his hands you noticed the darker bruises on each knuckle.
“Tom…” you said softly, scanning him. “Are you okay?”
“What does it matter to you? We hate each other don’t we?”
Sam took that as his cue to go back to the gym, you assumed to find Julia.
You let out a sigh and looked away.
“I don’t ‘hate you’ hate you. Yeah I hate when you’re better than me at something or you’re acting like a douchebag, but I don’t, like, want you dead or anything. I mean, you know that, right?”
You searched his face for a sign that he was getting you. After a few seconds of him staring at the ground nervously tapping his foot, he replied.
“Well I don’t hate you either! Yeah, you can have an ego and it gets on my nerves, but I’ve always thought we had just a playful hate-love thing. Like… I don’t know... Doofensmirtz and Perry the Platypus.”
You let out a chuckle at that one.
“That… actually. Yeah. That pretty much sums it up. I never actually wanted to hurt you, and I’m sorry that I did but what you did today was so not cool, man. I thought we at least tried to look out for each other a little bit. That stuff hurts. A lot. Because being a woman means I don’t know when it might cost me more than just being the butt of a joke.”
“I realize that now, and I’m so sorry for trying to trivialize you. I didn’t really think about it in the moment because it’s never affected me. I might be in trouble tomorrow because of it, though.”
“What do you mean?”
“After you left, I was so mad at myself. I marched straight over to the guys, who were then trying to laugh about you coming to talk to me, and I just… swung right on Harrison. He’s the first guy that whistled.”
“Tom…”
“And then I may have gone after the other two while I was at it. They tried to fight back, which is why my face looks like this, and I just went nuts. They gave up after realizing I wasn’t gonna back down.”
You tried to hold back tears. You always knew in the back of your mind that Tom cared a little bit, but not like this. One slipped out onto your cheek.
“You didn’t have to do that,” you whispered, trying to keep a steady voice. He reached out and brushed his thumb over your tear.
“Yes I did. Who else was going to teach those dickheads, huh? Obviously no one else in their lives have cared to.”
“Well thank you. It means a lot… and I didn’t go talk to Mrs. Flynn after our little spat outside. I wouldn’t mind staying as your ‘bride,’ if you’ll have me.”
He looked at you skeptically for a few seconds then smiled.
“Yeah, alright,” he pulled his necklace from his shirt. “Who else would rub icy hot on my back and make pie with my mom?”
“Ugh, don’t remind me of the first one,” you laughed.
After a few seconds, you held out your arms.
“We good?”
He grinned, taking your offer for a hug and wrapping his own arms around you.
“Yeah, we’re good.”

A/N: Thanks for reading! Like I’ve mentioned in the past, this will not be the last of heavy topics and some future scenes will actually be more descriptive, but I will make it explicitly clear where those scene are so you can have discretion. Love you all so much!

Fem! Jakurai
A take on a female Jakurai in the world of Hypnosis Mic
"I don't know who you are, but thank you for rescuing us," Jakurai bowed, thanking their mysterious savior. Next to her, she hears Yotsutsuji's flustered thanks.
"T-thank you from me as well!"
"Haha! It was nothing! It's a pleasure to meetcha! ☆I'm Amemura Ramuda," the pink-haired boy cheerfully introduced himself, "And you're Jinguuji Jakurai and Yotsutsuji!"
"...How do you know our names?"
"Hmm~ How should I explain...? I'll tell you after you check on all those wounded folks! ☆"
Jakurai felt conflicted, on one hand, she definitely wanted to make sure none of them were seriously wounded, on the other, this Amemura Ramuda might actually prove to be dangerous to both her and Yotsutsuji. Taking a deep breath, she reasoned to herself that this wasn't the underworld, trust had to be given to be proved after all.
"May I ask you one thing, Amemura?"
"Whatcha got~?"
"...Will you teach me how to rap?"
"Sure thing! ☆ You're definitely going to be a great MC!"
"Aah.. but..."
"Hmm~?"
"Aren't MCs something that Chuouku assigned to men?"
"Ye~ah?"
"...Amemura, I'm a woman."
"...Eh?"
When she was in middle school, her school had sent her the wrong uniform, but she simply shrugged it off and requested for the right one.
When the military accidentally marked her off as the wrong gender, she simply sighed and had it fixed.
When the Party of Words took over the government, she took note of it and moved on, after all, it had nothing to do with her. So why exactly was she being pushed into all this Hypnosis Microphone nonsense? It was a men's only thing, wasn't it?!
Jakurai sighed, staring into the mirror as if it had all the answers to life.
Tall and slender (although leaning towards underweight), she felt that her body wasn't that bad. Cupping her breasts she wondered if maybe they were too small. Having a B cup wasn't too bad, Jakurai thought to herself.
Maybe it was because of her unnatural height, after all, how many other women could claim to be an amazing 195 cm?
Jakurai cursed her genetics once again for making her so tall and 'masculine.' When she had asked Ramuda to teach her how to rap, she hadn't thought too much of it, after all, hypnosis microphones were pretty common nowadays. It was always better to be safe then sorry.
Even when Ramuda knew of her past of being Ill-Doc, he somehow had still thought that she was a man. God, this was her curse in life, wasn't it? Cursed to be never be able to get a date and constantly be mistaken for a man.
"Sensei!"
"A-ah, I'll be out in a second, Ichiro!"
Curse Ramuda and his constant need for chaos. Curse Ichiro and his innocent puppy eyes that Jakurai refuses to admit to be weak to.
Sulking slightly, she started to put on one of the many dresses that Ramuda chose for her to try. Honestly, it wasn't a big deal that she rarely wore anything but her black turtleneck, jeans, and lab coat. They were comfortable and practical.
Of course, the others (*coughcough*Ramuda*coughcough*Ichiro*coughcough*) vehemently disagreed. Which then turned into a wardrobe overhaul and shopping trip in Shibuya of all things.
Resigning herself to playing dress-up doll for the next couple of hours, Jakurai stepped out of the dressing room.
"Ooh! Huh, I guess sensei really is a lady."
Jakurai felt the urge to slap someone over the head, namely Ichiro hard.
"...Excuse me."
Ichiro stuttered, backtracking and realizing what exactly he just said, "I- I mean, you usually don't, y'know, uhhh..."
As Ichiro descended into mumbles, Ramuda laughed, fully in his element of chaos and destruction.
At least one of us is having fun, Jakurai couldn't help but think uncharitably, feeling rather self-conscious. There was a good reason she rarely wore feminine clothing, and it wasn't just because it was difficult for her to find anything her size (though it played a large part of it.)
"It, uh, it looks good on you, sensei," she turns, startled, having forgotten about Samatoki.
He's blushing, which is, on one hand, is rather adorable, but on the other, she really hopes that he's blushing from embarrassment and not a crush.
"Thank you," Jakurai smiles slightly, wishing to be out of the dress and back into her usual outfit.
Was it too late to run away?
"So I guess we're a team."
"Yup~! ☆"
Jakurai tilted her head, a small smile on her lips. A team, huh. She supposed it was time to say goodbye to Kujaku Posse.
"It'll be us four against everyone else! We'll be the best!"
She listens to Ichiro's exuberant yelling and Samatoki's curses that follow soon after. Nearby, she watches Ramuda cheerfully egg on the two, mixing in his own brand of chaos and calamity into the fold.
Chuckling, a though pops into her head.
"We never did figure out if I was allowed to participate in the rap battles, did we, Ramuda?"
"No~pe!"
"Huh?"
"What are you talking about?"
Watching at the visible confusion on both Ichiro and Samatoki's faces, Jakurai sighed. Oh dear.
"I'm a woman, but the rap battles are a men's only event," she gently reminds the two, or rather inform them. Honestly, she might be extremely tall, but her voice and chest should've at least hinted that she wasn't a man.
Observing the startled faces of her new teammates, she wondered if she was going to have to wear a badge or something to indicate that, no, no she was not a man.
"EHHHHHH?!!"
If this was an indication of how this team was going to be, Jakurai thought to herself as Ramuda laughed himself silly, then God, please give me patience. A lot of patience.
"Ooh, is Jakurai going on a date? You look super pretty in that dress! ☆"
"Ah, well it's been a while," Jakurai hummed, "so I thought I'd put a little extra effort today."
Having styled her hair into a waterfall braid and applied a bit of makeup, Jakurai felt that she looked pretty good. Twirling around, she teasingly asked for Ramuda's approval.
"Definitely a ten out of ten~!"
Out of the corner of her eye, she spots Ichiro and Samatoki huddled together. Shaking her head, she laughs at Ramuda's praise and elects to ignore whatever Ichiro and Samatoki were planning. It probably wasn't going to be good for her stress levels anyways.
"Alright, I'm heading out now. Don't make a mess of my apartment, children," Jakurai calls out, receiving eye-rolls in return and mumbled promises of behaving.
Heading towards the cafe where her blind date was, Jakurai couldn't help but feel a bit suspicious. They're all adults, or well at least close to adults, she reasoned to herself. They're not going to do something stupid she hoped.
"Hi, you're Jakurai, right?"
Startled, Jakurai flinched, not having realized that she had already reached her destination. Politely smiling, she nodded her head towards the man.
"I apologize for not paying attention," she began, "Jinguuji Jakurai. It's nice to meet you."
Settling down, Jakurai felt that her date was probably going to be okay. Neither of them really had anything in common, but he wasn't a bad conversationalist.
"- pretty cool person, Jakurai. But, wow, I really didn't expect you to look so much like a man."
What.
"-and if you wore makeup and got bigger breasts, you'd look really hot, like model-levels of hot, y'know like-"
Jakurai felt her hands twitch. God, this was why she almost never went on dates, especially blind dates. Doing her best to be as polite as possible, she tried to excuse herself.
"Excuse me, I-"
"Oi."
Turning her head, she came face-to-face with Samatoki. Wait. Why was Samatoki here? And with Ichiro and Ramuda too, to boot. How did they even know where she was?
"Hi, sensei!"
"Jakurai! What a cool coincidence to see you~! ☆"
"Samatoki! Ichiro! Ramuda! What are you-"
Behind them, she hears her date spluttering indignantly. Good.
"He~ey, Jakurai, I saw this super duper cool candy store a couple of streets down," Ramuda giggles, it's not a nice one, Jakurai notes, and the gleam in his eyes as he pulls her away from the table is downright vicious.
"H-huh? Ramuda!"
"We're off~! ☆ Ichiro, Samatoki, have fun!"
"Yeah, yeah."
"See you later, sensei!"
Hesitantly, she glanced at her date who was currently trembling and sweating in fear, and then towards the rest of the TDD. Shaking her head, she let herself be pulled by Ramuda.
I can take care of myself, she wants to say, why are trying to protect me, she wants to ask.
Instead, she tosses out a "don't hurt him too much" before walking next to Ramuda.
She hears the screams of terror behind her and a part of her wants to go back, wants to help even the ones who desire to hurt her.
"Ne, Jakurai, you doctors are always helping so many people," she hears Ramuda humming, "but, y'know, sometimes doctors should let others help them too~!"
"...pfft-!"
She's crouching, Jakurai realizes halfheartedly, and her vision is blurred.
"Haha, Ramuda, what are you even talking about," she laughs as tears obscure her sight, "I'm not a damsel in distress."
"Nope! But it's nice to see you as a lady sometimes. You're much better than this annoying onee-san that calls me all the time!"
"...Better enough that you don't have to pretend with me?"
"Hmm~ Who knows!"
She feels Ramuda's arms around her shoulders. It's a comforting feeling, and she can't help but feel guilty. For her to feel happy while having so many sins still weighing upon her shoulders.
She hears footsteps approaching them and looks up to see Samatoki and Ichiro. They're sweaty and out of breath, but the bloodthirsty grins and bright eyes tell her everything she needs to know.
"Sensei!"
Around her are the TDD, and she can't help but feel content and happy. The dark feelings of self-doubt are clawing at her again. Was she allowed to be happy? After causing so much death, so much pain, was it okay for her to-
No.
Jakurai forces those feeling down, forces them into a box for now. Right now, she basks in the warmth that the others provide.
She can't help but love Ramuda, can't help but love Samatoki, can't help but love Ichiro. They're her precious boys, her friends.
It's a nice feeling.
Very few good things last, and the TDD ends up being one of the many that fail, and it h u r t s.
It's been several months since Yotsutsuji fell into a coma, several months since that fateful email.
Suddenly, Jakurai couldn't help but feel all her thirty-something years weighing down on her shoulders. God, she was getting old.
I guess, she bitterly thinks, I was simply the fool for believing that we would last.
Nothing ever lasted. Not family. Not Hitoya. Not even the TDD.
Pulling herself together, she prepared to close her clinic for the night. It was getting late after all.
Knock. Knock.
Who-?
"Samatoki?"
"Hey, sorry to bother," she watches Samatoki stumble into her clinic, his shirt red with blood.
Body on autopilot, she tends to his injuries. The silence between them is oppressing. What was there to say, she wondered, but a small part of her was glad that even though they've all gone their separate ways, Samatoki still trusts her to treat his injuries.
"...Thanks."
She smiles, it's not quite as warm and as fond as it used to be, but she manages. She asks how he's doing, how Nemu is, asks him to take care, to not aggravate his injuries.
Samatoki grunts and shrugs off her questions, is ready to leave before she hears a soft, "Do you regret it?"
I don't know, she thinks; yes, she wants to say.
Instead, she tells a half-truth, half-lie.
"No, our time in the TDD means a lot to me, but I believe it is time for us to move on."
She sees the hurt that roles off of Samatoki in waves, sees how badly the younger man is taking the separation and a large part of her wants to hug him, to tell him that everything will be okay even if she doesn't believe it.
When he leaves, Jakurai can't help but think of Yotsutsuji and his discovery that made Ramuda want him dead, can't help but think of Ichiro and his resolve to raise his siblings himself, can't help but think of Ramuda and what they had.
Can't help but think of what-ifs.
In another life, would things have turned out differently?

Twenty-four days of hell
jj maybank x reader
( GIF CREDIT: @rudypankows )
Twenty-four days. It’s been twenty-four days since you last spoke to JJ, and it’s killing you. Your heart feels heavier and heavier with each day passing, and the fight won’t stop replaying itself in your head. It’s torture for you, and as hard as you will for it to just stop, it won’t.
“Well, maybe I don’t want to be just friends!” you screamed, and his eyebrows furrowed.
“The fuck you mean, just friends!?” he had yelled back, equally as angry.
You shook your head. “You know what I mean.”
“No, I don’t think I do!” JJ yelled, taking a step closer.
You scoffed. “I’m not gonna keep playing this game with you, Jay. I’m not gonna keep letting you fuck with my head, it’s not fair.”
“I’m not playing a fucking game, Y/N! So let’s just stop this shit and pretend it didn’t happen, alright!”
“No,” you said. You watched as JJ’s jaw clenched. “No, I’m not gonna keep pretending like everything’s okay. Like you’re not with me every morning and running back to her every night. I’m not fucking doing it, JJ.”
“I’m not—“ he paused, sucking in a breath. “I’m not fucking around with you, okay? I promise, I’m not.”
You shook your head, disbelieving. “I’m done.” You turned your back, walking away, only for his hand to grip onto your wrist. You spun around to face him.
“You’re done, are you? You’re just gonna— just gonna walk away like I don’t even fucking exist to you anymore.”
You pushed him back and he stumbled, his jaw slack and tears in his eyes. “Yeah. Yeah, I am.”
That was the last time you had seen him.
That moment twenty-four days ago on the beach was the last time you had heard his voice, seen his face, touched his skin, and you were lost without him. You don’t think you realised how much that stupid little fight would affect you, but you just couldn’t keep doing it.
You couldn’t keep pretending like you were okay when you saw her hand in his, when you saw her lips crashing against his, their bodies a jumble of limbs between each other. Not when it was your hand in his only a few hours ago, your lips on his, your bodies intertwined.
It was breaking you. Slowly but surely, it was shattering you to pieces.
You didn’t think it would be this hard when you agreed to it at first. When JJ had kissed you that night, and you had kissed him back, not caring that he had a girlfriend, only focused on the feeling of his lips on your skin.
It was stupid. And for the first time, you think you remember why you and Kie had come up with the ‘no pogue on pogue macking’ rule. Because all it takes is two, and the whole group comes crashing down with you. And then, well, then you’re lost.
You don’t know if Cheryl knows what you had been doing with JJ for a good month or two now, and you tell yourself that you don’t care, but that’s not true. You care too much, if anything.
If he hadn’t told her, so what? He doesn’t care about you, you know that. He doesn’t give a shit, and neither should you. But, god, you can’t help it. You can’t help that you’re helplessly in— not in love, no. It wasn’t love, not yet, but it could be ... You’re helplessly in .. like with him. It sounds stupid, but you don’t know how else to describe your infatuation.
You’re lying on the soft grass, picking it with your fingers, staring up into the sky, thinking about him. This is where you had met JJ first, at your 7th birthday party. Unbeknownst to you, your mum had invited practically the whole neighbourhood. You weren’t rich, so it was only a small party with jugs of squash, a few bowls of crisps and a huge cake your mum and little sister had baked for you.
It was nice.
At first, you were shocked when all these random kids showed up, because you didn’t know these people. You’d seen a few of them at school, sure, but you really had no idea who they were. You got scared and hid yourself away in your room, sure that no one would come into the house.
That was until someone did.
A small blond headed boy with shining blue eyes opened the door, looking behind him to make sure no one was following him. You stayed silent, confused as to what he was doing. He shut the door quietly, sneaking over to your desk and taking your favourite pen.
Clearly, he had not seen you sat in the corner of the room, looking at him annoyed.
“Can I help you?” you spoke up, eyes narrowed and glaring. He jumped when he head your voice, turning around at the speed of lightning to face you.
“Uh, yeah, I was just, uhhh,” he said, panicked, “looking for the bathroom.”
“Rightttt,” you stretched out, standing up and brushing off your legs. “And that’s why you took my pen?”
His eyes widened slightly, and he laughed it off. “Ohhh, this?” he asked, holding the pen up. It was pink and sparkly, you weren’t sure why he’d want it. “Nice pen. Very sparkly.”
You just glared at him, hands crossed over our chest. “Yeah, and it’s mine. Why are you in here, anyway?”
“Told you, bathroom.” He shrugged, looking at you curiously. “Why are you here? Isn’t this, I dunno, your party?”
You huffed and rolled your eyes. “Yeah, but I don’t know like anyone here,” you admit.
“Im JJ,” he said, holding out his hand to shake your hand. You eye it suspiciously at first, but eventually give in and shake it.
“Y/N,” you nod. He grinned, and you forgot about how he had tried to steal your pen.
You didn’t know it then, but you had made a forever friend. You didn’t know that you would fall in love with him then, that you would later come to get your heart broken by him.
You didn’t know that he would keep the pen, and although you both know it’s stupid, he still has it, tucked away in his dresser as a ‘emblem of your friendship.’ You won’t ever admit it, but you love that he still has it. In fact, you think it’s adorable.
Oh, how much you want to go back to then, when everything was so much simpler.
Your thoughts are broken by the familiar ding of your phone, indicating a new message. You know that it’s probably just another text from Kie, John B, or Pope, but you check anyway, just to be sure.
JB🖕🏻
get ur ass to mine. mandatory
pogue meeting.
Y/N
mandatory? that’s a big word,
surprised you know it
JB🖕🏻
ha. ha.
JB🖕🏻
just get here
Y/N
i’m good, thanks
JB🖕🏻
u can’t just keep ignoring him,
we haven’t seen u in ages
Y/N
watch me.
With that, you switch off your phone, turning it on silent and continuing to lounge on the grass, looking up at the sky.
—
“Ugh, dude,” John B groans, putting his phone on the counter. “She says she’s not coming. Can’t you just go and talk to her already?”
JJ glares at him. “Hell no.”
“Come on, JJ,” Kiara whines. “It’s not fair that none of us get to see her anymore.”
“She’s right, you fucked up. Big time. And we’re paying the consequences,” Pope adds.
JJ rolls his eyes, taking a large swig of his beer. “You’re just agreeing with her ‘cause she got you pussy whipped.”
“I do not,” Kiara says, glaring at him. Pope stays quiet, eyes slightly wide with the confrontation.
“Whatever, man, just talk to her,” says John B, plopping himself down on the sofa.
“Fine,” JJ spits, grabbing his beer and sauntering out of John B’s house.
“You better not fuck up again!” Kie calls out behind him. JJ grumbles under his breath on his way to yours. He knows the way by muscle memory, and at first he really isn’t going to go — he’s just gonna pretend he did and say you didn’t want to talk. But then he gets closer to your house, and he starts to think about how much he’s missed you. How much he wants you back in his life, so he takes a chance.
—
Your peace is disrupted as you hear the soft pads of feet against the gravelly pavement, walking onto the grass and over towards you.
You know who it is, and you hate that you do, because you’ve memorised him down to the weight of his footsteps. JJ.
You make no move to recognise the fact that he’s there, but you both know you know he is. Your eyes glisten with tears, and he gulps, because he did that to you. Him, who would never dream of hurting you, not in a thousand years, has. And it nearly breaks him inside.
Eventually, he comes to lay beside you. Neither of you speak, and a tense silence fills the air. It’s not a comfortable silence, rather filled with unsaid words and the heavy weight of hurt and guilt instead.
“I broke up with Cheryl yesterday,” he says, after a long silence. You don’t answer him, just continuing to stare up at the sky, but your heart gives a small lurch of joy.
Maybe he does care, after all ...
Your words fail you, and all you can say is, “Okay.” This is the moment you’ve been dreading for those full twenty-four days, actually having to talk it out with him, face even more rejection than you already have.
You don’t think he likes you any more than a friend. You don’t think he likes you the way you like him. But you’re wrong.
“Okay?” he asks incredulously. “Okay? Is that all you’re gonna say to me?”
You sigh. “I don’t know what else there is to say.”
“A lot, Y/N. A whole damn lot,” he says, and he sounds like he doesn’t want to talk about the ‘a lot’, and you understand that, because you don’t either.
“We ... ” you start, but you trail off. “We don’t have to talk about it now. Y’know, take it slow kind of thing.”
JJ smiles. You can’t see him, because you’re looking up at the sky, but you know that he smiles because you know him.
“Okay,” he says.
“Okay?”
“Okay.”
JJ reaches out to intertwine his fingers with yours, and you let him, squeezing his hand in return. He squeezes back.
There’s a comfortable silence, and you both lay on the soft grass, looking up at the sky, holding hands, grinning like love-crazed fools — which, you suppose, you are.
The silence doesn’t just mean silence at this point. It means all the months of going back and forth meant something more. It means, in so many more ways than words can say, hope. Hope for the future and hope for each other.
So you keep the silence, and you bask in that hope, because the twenty-four days of hell and all that happened before doesn’t matter anymore.
All that matters is you and him, and the hopeful silence you lay in, touching in such a simple but intimate way with so many unspoken words between you that the silence seems to sum out.
Twenty-four days of hell and it was worth it.
A/N: hi :)
also oops there’s a little fault in our stars reference there by accident

warmth is the promise of affection yesterday, today, and tomorrow
— taehyung x female reader — vampire hunters!au — anathema: a drabble series | PG-13 — there are 1443 words because i love love you — fluff because taehyung is a certified sweetheart; a bit of brooding so i guess that’s angst
When the sun rose today, Taehyung had plans. Several dozens of them. It's been a few weeks since the two of you decided not to be in the constant presence of the other, not when his musty wet-earth scent has been sticking to your skin.
How that came to be was quite an affair and is a different story altogether.
Right. So. About that game plan.
Taehyung had been and is still very much against it, but he knows it's for the better. It may be difficult for them to capture Taehyung, a vampire-Hunter, but you're just a human, albeit a Hunter, and regular weapons work on you.
He isn't sure if it's a good thing he's unaware of the fate of Traitors.
Huffing the thought away, Taehyung buries himself under a thousand layers of clothing. It's still freezing outside and it will not do well to call people's attention unnecessarily. That, and he also needs to bury his telltale vampire scent beneath laundry soap and musky perfume.
He also has plans to take you out to the movies—a plan he knows you won't agree to easily. At least not when the sun's still up. Taehyung needs to be inconspicuous if he wanted you to agree at all. He hopes you’d agree.
Taehyung misses the toe-curling anticipation you only get when you're in the movies, the too wide and too tall screen that overwhelms your senses, the cheap Popcorn Smell™ that makes your mouth water, and the collective gasps at the shocking events.
But more than that, he misses you and everything he had always been doing with you. Taehyung knows that you're risking your life being with him and he's resolute in making today normal.
Like nothing big has changed.
Like he isn't a vampire.
Taehyung just wants to focus on making you happy, as he had always done. Fiancée or not, you're his partner-in-crime, and for everything you've done for him, you deserve to be happy.
As it turns out, the day has other plans.
At first, he had been too caught up in his thoughts to realize what it was, but when he finally does—well. It is impossible to ignore it now. He becomes stiller than a statue, eyes sharp and breath paused.
You sniffle, loud and clear.
It doesn't matter how you're several kilometers away from him. Your voice is something he has always been attuned to—something that got more intense after he turned.
Sniff.
There it is again.
It doesn't require experience to understand that no, that isn't a cold and yes, you're actually crying.
Taehyung does not hesitate even for a millisecond. Immediately, he is out his door and in front of yours, humans and Hunters be damned. He himself be damned.
All that matters to him right now is how to make you stop crying. It breaks his heart when you're crying.
"What's wrong, Chip?"
His voice startles you; you whip your head towards him mid-sob. You pale a little and Taehyung understands. You probably didn't expect him to come over today, especially not at this hour, but here he is.
You blink once, twice, then you shudder.
Taehyung's heart breaks at how swollen and how flushed your face is. He wonders how long you've been crying and how long he hadn't noticed.
Whoever did this is irrelevant. Whoever it is will pay, Taehyung will make sure of it. But for now, those tears need to stop.
"Come on," he remains outside your door, his arms wide open. "Let me in so I can give you a hug."
"Taehyung?" You manage to choke out, disbelief still on your face. You stare at him and he stares at you right back.
He shifts on the balls of his feet, arms still raised awkwardly. It doesn't seem like you'll be coming to hug him anytime soon, so he pushes just a bit more.
You usually liked his hugs.
"Let me in," he repeats, warmth swirling within his body as a ghost of a smile finds its way to your lips. "You look like you need a hug."
That's, uhhh, mostly a lie. While you do need a hug, Taehyung needs it more than you do. He hates when he sees you like this, folded over and lost. It feels so wrong.
You are strong and you take pride in that.
Taehyung takes pride in supporting you when you need it.
An angry flame of hatred burns within Taehyung, easily overpowering the quiet flicker of happiness that had been present a few minutes ago. Taehyung hates what he's become because he can't rush to you in the ways he usually would. Because he can't do what he usually could.
It gets frustrating sometimes.
"Taehyung, it's 9 AM. What're you doing out and about?"
The flame quiets and Taehyung smiles. Of course, his safety is your first concern. You don't mind how you're cold or how you're tired. Or how a full-fledged vampire is standing at your door and that there might be a Hunter around and—Taehyung harshly cuts that train of thought off. The point is you should really be more concerned about your safety.
You're a Traitor now.
You should also be more concerned about how dry your throat is. Taehyung makes a quick note to get you to drink as much water as he can. Later.
"Uh, I really kind of need you to let me in now, Chip, because most people would be freezing here, outside, right now. I am not. You're freezing right now. We can't have you frostbitten, can we?"
It seems that was the moment you realized that yes, you're actually shivering and slightly numb from the cold.
"Oh, shit. Come in, Taehyung."
"There we go. So who're we going to punch in the gut?"
You smile bitterly.
"It's nothing, Tae. I'm just having a little crisis."
You don't want to expound, but the things left unsaid hang heavily in the air. Taehyung braves the waters and asks the question you probably hoped he wouldn't.
"Because of me, yeah?"
Pain and guilt flicker on your face, but you cover them all up. A wrinkle appears on your forehead, and Taehyung reaches out to touch it.
"If it is, you do know I will willingly surrender to you, right? There won't even be a fight whatsoever."
"That makes it even worse," you look at your hands as you whisper. "I don't know how to fix this."
"Then don't. We'll find a way somehow. It's just been a few months, Chip. We'll be fine for a few more. There's no rush at all."
"But if they find us—"
Gloom settles on Taehyung's shoulders, but he tries to smile anyway. You look at his fangs, and it makes Taehyung feel a certain type of way.
"If they do, I'll fight them and take you away. As hostage."
You smile dimly.
"A willing hostage."
Taehyung chuckles at that. He feels a little guilty because he's feeling a tad bit too excited at the idea of you running away with him, in exchange for you practically gambling for your life against him and against the Hunters. It's a no-win situation for you, but an us-against-the-world situation for Taehyung.
Us.
Horrible it may be, Taehyung likes the sound of that.
"A hostage who will never get hurt as long as I'm alive. I'm your knight in ripped jeans and baseball caps."
"And a mullet, it appears." You reach out to touch his nape, but you pull back, a little wary.
Taehyung can't deny his disappointment, but then he realizes you pulled back because he froze. Deathly still.
He wants to kick himself on the head.
"Hey, I look good in it. Bet I can make you swoon."
You make a face and Taehyung feels accomplished. If you're making those expressions now, then you're surely feeling better. Your smile is adorable and Taehyung would like to keep seeing it for as long as he lives, so he decides, right there and then, that he'll never let any harm befall you again. There won't be any do-overs, unlike last time.
This is the last chance.
"You know, you're disgusting half of the time, annoying the other half. Oh, and you got a dumb brain up there, but my life sucks less with you around. Thanks, Taehyung."
"You do realize there's a lot more sucking when I'm involved, right?"
Taehyung wiggles his eyebrows at you.
"Will you stop talking? Oh my God, I'm trying to be sentimental here."
"I didn't say anything wrong though?"
"Taehyung!"
Taehyung decides this is a great way to spend today too. His plans will have to wait.
