hey!!! how are you doing?
ohmygosh for the liloscar imagine liam having a seat in the alpha tauri and logan and oscar don't have a proper friendship anymore and liam and logan get super close since they were team mates in f2 (i think??? i dont follow them unfortunately but ill read anything you write all ur ideas are fantastic) and then oscar gets jealous like that should be me so he goes to logan and they get in an argument abt this and they both basically declare their love for each other and then logan gets all confused and shaken up because he thought he had a good thing with liam going on and now his feelings are all confused to he talks to liam about it and he says he likes logan too but they want to focus on their careers so they put a pin on it or smth and then later on oscar finds liam in a little breakdown because of his seat and the rumours if he's good enough to move up to rb or if he's gonna be replaced mid season and oscar knows how it feels like to never have ur seat confirmed to move up and basically being treated like shit bc of alpine so he goes and comforts him and liam's like huh ohmygosh how nice and he grows feelings for him too so they all like each other and bam: relationship
and then there could be little snippets of ppl on social media posting abt them because they keep their relationship public but private so they never say anything abt it and ppl just speculate and it's never confirmed
sorry for the ramble, have a lovely day 💕
Don't apologise for your rambling it was amazing to read!!!!
But i would probably go a bit different about it, maybe Logan got that second alpha tauri seat so now they can actually spend time together while his friendship with oscar went a bit still. It takes effort from both sides to keep up texting or meetups and getting into f1 made it harder for them. And then there was last year with Williams that hit Logan pretty hard so keeping in touch was hard. Oscar not really reaching out first, too wrapped in his own team did affect this too.
So now Logan is constantly in close proximity to liam and they are back to their f2 flirting and all that. Oscar mostly see that online in pr vids that they make or something like that and it annoys him because it wasn't like that even with Alex so he gets snappy in any interactions they have which is strange and highly unusual for oscar.
And one too many comments bring logan and oscar into some far away location, maybe even one evening when they stay in the same hotel or something. At first it's very still and tense conversation, but then oscar let something slip and it actually angers logan bc he wasn't there for Logan when everything was shit and liam did so there no reason for him to act like this. Then he admits his feelings not noticing the slip bc of how furious he is. Oscar answers also very heated that he in fact also have feelings for Logan and it all goes on.
They don't do anything about it because Logan needs some space to think but now they at least acknowledged attraction between them which is something
Logan talks to liam about all of this bc they both know that something is there but just never talked about it. And above all else liam is his friend so they literally just talk about it like "i know that i like you and that you like me too but here this thing with oscar and i have no fucking idea what to do" and in the end they decide to just wait till summer break when they can have some uninterrupted time together and see what will come from that
And then happens part with liam breaking down (maybe because he already with rb for so long but now that logan is also here they have practically same treatment and not really any prospects for rb seat bc yuki now have it?)and oscar and liam open their eyes toward eachother and then they all actually get to the relationship part during summer break hehe

Stormy Night Cuddles-Karl Heisenberg X GN! Reader
You and Karl always had some things that you just never told the other. Some things forgotten and others unspoken
Well
Turns out you never told him about your fear of thunder
He found out pretty quick when a thunderstorm hit the small Romanian town alongside the factory the two of you shared.
Life may be different when your lover is a mutant but that doesn't mean you escape yard work. While out on the lawn picking trash out of the usable scrap metals you notice a large dark mark far in the sky, it didn't look as though it would blow right past the factory. It was mid day so of course you hoped it would hit through the night and you would be asleep for it.
Keeping a close eye on it throughout the day Karl starts to notice your unease. He gently wraps him arms around your waist from behind, resting his chin on your shoulder "what's wrong buttercup?" he asks softly. Only now realizing just how bad your worries were showing through "it's nothing love, i'm alright" You respond half heartedly. He knew when not to pry and he understood that he needed to wait before asking again. You felt bad about being so passive but thinking about saying what was bothering you left you even more anxious than before so you figured you should just leave it be. After all it'll pass.
Hopefully
"Buttercup, c'mere" Karl said outstretching his arms to you as he lay on your shared bed as if reaching for you is going to will you to his grasp immediately. After gazing outside the window for a few seconds longer you walk over promptly fall into his arms. While enjoying your lovers embrace for a short while you slowly forget about the troubles brewing in the sky, sad enough forgetting wasn't enough to stop it. Now almost asleep in his arms a loud clap of thunder with no warning, shakes you awake. The thunder this time around was loud yet low, it rumbles deep within your chest making you clutch your lover tighter than ever. After merely a moment the thunder comes back only it lasts longer than before, now not only are you clinging to him but now you're shaking and softly crying. Once it calms down Karl looks down at you realizing something he should have long ago, holding you closer to his chest he softy asks "why did you hide it love" all you could mutter was a quiet apology in response. he feels bad he never knew, all those nights of storms that you must have dealt with alone, he was asleep next to you for some. How could he have just left you to face your fear alone. That's all he could think about right now, but he knew he needed to comfort you not think about the past "No, no buttercup there's no need to be sad, i'm here now" Karl wasn't going to let anything hurt you and he wasn't going to let you be afraid. The thunder wasn't letting up for quite som time which eventually led you to sob in his embrace. After a few minutes of sobbing into his chest you look up to meet his eyes and say " i thought you'd think of me like a child" with an intense yet soft expression he glances to your lips before taking them to his own, it's his way of saying he could never think of you like that.
Slowly the sun begins to set and the storm grows closer still, so does the fear you've been working so hard to push away. You've never told your lover about the irrational fear you had, you were always too embarrassed too. You knew your fear of thunder was ridiculous yet you couldn't just get rid of it. You once thought about telling Karl but the moment you went to you got worried he'd think less of you, almost as if you were a child. I mean children are normally the only ones afraid of thunder right? at least as far as you knew. The sky was getting darker by the second, it would soon be entirely night.
You knew you wouldn't be sleeping until the storm had passed but Karl always made you feel better
He always knew how
Welpppp!! I hope you enjoyed! i know it wasn't the best but i hope it was worth the read! Thank you for reading have an amazing day/evening/night and make sure you've eaten and drank some water!!! I had so much fun writing this thank you so much for the request and if any of you have any more requests drop them in my AMA or my DMs again so sorry for the wait i hope you enjoyed!!!!

Pairing: Manuel Neuer x fem!reader (3rd person)
Word Count: 6,018
Warnings: rpf, mentions of age gap (not between reader and Manu and nothing illegal) and strong opinions on that, banter, jealousy, infuriation, fluff and cuteness
Summary: The reader finally catches her long time crush Manuel Neuer alone on her uncle's birthday. Things are quickly starting to get heated—sadly it's not the kind of heated she would have liked it to be.
A/N: Most of you probably don't know Manuel Neuer. He is the goalkeeper and captain of Bayern Munich as well as the German National Football Team and every once in a while I find my thoughts drifting towards that adorable and amazingly talented manchild. This story has been sitting in my drafts for far too long and I wasn't sure whether I felt comfortable with publishing it in case it ever got finished. But I found that there is an intolerable lack of Manuel Neuer x reader fics on here, so here it is. I tagged everyone from my general tag list, but I understand if this is not what you signed up for. So sorry in advance and please feel free to ignore this story at your leisure.

It was only a few minutes to midnight and still the dance floor was as filled as ever, an enchanting mixture of young and old people alike. The bass rolled deep in his stomach, making him even queasier than he already was, and the lights, flickering across the mass of moving bodies in sync to the rhythm of the music, didn’t help either.
Suddenly a figure broke through the outer wall of bodies and made her way over to his table. A small smile crawled over her lips, a little shy but genuine, yet he didn’t feel like returning it. He had hoped that she would change her mind upon the disgruntled look on his face, but much to his dismay, she did nothing of the sort and sat down right next to him, just as a waitress passed the table with a tray of colourful shots. The woman next to him stopped her, before she turned to him.
“Care for a drink?”
Did he care for a drink? He yearned for one.
“No, thanks. I’m not really fond of drinking.”
“Shame,” she shrugged, her smile growing a bit wider when she took two shots from the tray anyway. For a second he thought she might actually force him to drink with her, but then she placed down the two glasses in front of herself. Raising her first glass to him, she gulped it down in one swig, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand afterwards.
“Do you care for a dance then?” She nodded over to the dance floor, her eyes and body inviting him to take the offer.
He found that he somehow couldn’t hold her gaze when he answered, “I’m afraid I’m also not very fond of dancing.”
Her forearms resting on the table, she leaned closer, obviously not taking the hint that he just wanted to be left in peace and quiet.
“Then what are you fond of?”
“I think you know pretty well what I’m fond of.” To his own surprise he sounded even harsher than he had attempted to, but the last thing he needed right now was an eager fan trying to engage him in a conversation.
“I do,” she retorted undeterred, “but that’s not what I wanted to know. See, you might not have noticed through all your sulking, but I was actually interested in you as a person, not as a footballer.”
He huffed, although he wasn’t sure she had heard him above the music.
“And you might have noticed that I am not interested in talking about private stuff to complete strangers.”
Sure, he was being massively impolite, but at least he hoped that this would do the trick now. But instead of finally leaving him alone, she shot him an amused look.
“Ooooh, grumpy, aren’t we?”
Now it was him who leaned in closer, making sure she could hear him properly. “Look, it’s nothing personal, okay? I just...it wasn’t such a great evening for me.”
Unintentionally his eyes wandered over to the dance floor for a split second, where a very young, very blonde girl was dancing happily among his teammates and their wives and girlfriends. Cursing himself, he looked over to the woman by his side carefully, hoping she hadn’t noticed. But of course she had, her eyes still fixed on the girl.
“Ah, I see.” She turned to him and the glint in her eyes made his stomach turn. “Puberty is a bitch, eh?”
“Excuse me?” he spat, equal parts bewildered and stunned.
“You heard me alright.”
Who did she think she was? Impertinent woman.
“I don’t think that’s any of your business.” The volume of his voice must have slipped his control a little, as he noticed a group of elderly men standing nearby turn into his direction. Still the woman’s smile never left her face, appeasing the men who turned away again.
“Really? After all I have to sit here with a pissed thirty something man who refuses to acknowledge he let his hormones get the best of him.”
“Whoa! Okay, first of all, it was you who decided to come and sit at this table and second, again, none of your goddamn business.”
Her answer was a simple grin, still not fazed by his anger in the slightest. It almost felt as if she was enjoying to get him riled up.
“You’re right.”
“And?”
“What do you mean ‘and’?”
He rolled his eyes heavily. Why couldn’t she just leave?
“You know, that phrase usually goes with an apology. Like ‘You’re right. Sorry I assumed you’re having a mid-life crisis and bang a chick that is 15 years your junior to boost your fragile ego.’”
“Do you?”
Inhaling deeply, he tried to calm himself a little. After all, he couldn’t afford to yell at her again, not that he didn’t want to, but causing even more unwanted attention was not in his plans for tonight.
“I didn't say that.”
“Well actually,” she looked at him triumphantly, “you kind of did. I never said you were having a midlife crisis or that you need her to boost your ego. Those were your words. And seeing that my assumptions caused a reaction like that, I’m afraid I can’t really say I’m sorry either.”
All right, that was it. Enough was enough.
“Look, I think I have an assumption for you too, lady. I’m starting to assume that you only came over here to rile me up further. And guess what, mission completed. So why don’t you do us both a favour and head off to pester someone else now?”
She was quiet for a moment and for the first time, the cheeky smile left her beautiful, burgundy lips. He had expected her to be a bit shaken at least, maybe even as pissed as himself, and yet the next words were spoken with such dignity that he couldn’t help but admire her a little for it.
“Oh, I would love to say you’re right again, but I’m afraid I can’t this time. And since we seem to have warmed up to each other quite a bit by now, I feel it’s okay to be completely honest with you.” She paused a second, simply for the effect, he guessed and her warm eyes never left his. “I came to sit with you because you looked miserable. Still do, by the way. And I thought you might need an actual grown up to talk to. But it seems I was wrong. You’re just a pouty manchild, like the rest of them.”
She waved her arm, pointing over at the dancing crowd of his friends and their spouses. His eyes followed her gesture and when he laid eyes on the heart of the matter, a hot flush of rage began to swirl through his veins, making his hands clench into fists. Fully set on giving her a piece of his mind, not caring who might hear him at this point, he turned to her again. But the familiar figure that had somehow entered the picture without his notice made him stop in his tracks.
“Here you are, sweetie.” The man cooed, laying his large hand on her shoulder in a protective gesture. “I almost got the feeling you were hiding from me since I made you promise to dance with me tonight.”
She twisted her slender neck to look up at his gentle face, her attention making him smile sweetly at her.
“You know I’d never do that to you, Uncle Hans, especially not on your birthday. I just thought your no. 1 goalkeeper here was in need of some mature company, but clearly he is perfectly happy with the way things are.”
Bewilderment flickered behind the coach’s gaze as he looked between his niece and one of his best players and Manuel was sure that this might not be the last time they would speak about this matter.
“So then, may I have that dance now, sweetheart?”
“With pleasure.” Manuel watched almost transfixed as she gracefully took her uncle’s hand and stood up. It was only now that he noticed how perfectly her dress showed off her voluptuous curves. He was almost certain that she would leave without another word when once again she proved him wrong. Turning on her heels, she grabbed the remaining shot and gulped it down in one large swig before she looked down at him, almost as regal as a queen.
“Have a pleasant evening, Mister Neuer. I’m sorry I can’t say I enjoyed our conversation more. Oh, and just in case you should ever feel in need to talk to a grown up, don’t call.”
⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
She could still feel his piercing look on her back as Hansi led her through the crowd and away from him. They had just begun to dance when the song changed and a much slower tune echoed through the large room. With a smug grin, her uncle pulled her closer, bringing his hand to the small of her back. Cheek to cheek he swayed her to the beat and she could feel that her mind was almost beginning to slow down, when he decided to pick up a conversation.
“Will you tell me what that was all about?”
She bit her lip like a little girl that was about to be scolded. “Do I have to?”
He chuckled deeply, the vibration rumbling against her chest and she could easily imagine the self-satisfied grin on his face.
“I’m certainly not going to force you. It’s just, you know, I always thought you kind of liked him.”
Instantly, she could feel her face heat up. How could he possibly know that?
“True. Liked, as in past tense. And besides, it’s not that I actually know him, personally, I mean. You could perhaps say I admire his talent, at most. And he also may be kind of easy on the eyes.”
She had become more and more quiet while she spoke, merely mumbling the last sentence. But he had heard her nonetheless, her silliness making his lips twitch in amusement.
“Hm. I clearly remember your aunt begging me to invite him over for a barbecue party last summer, telling me that you wouldn’t shut up about his quiet reserve, his amazing performance on the field and his stunning smile. Sadly he didn’t have time.”
She gulped audibly, tensing up a little in his arms, which made him enjoy their little talk even more. “So, what changed your mind?”
“He did,” she said a little too quickly, before she sighed so heavily that her uncle almost regretted bringing this topic up after all. “It’s just, I don’t understand his choice in women. I mean, he could choose literally anyone, so why her? I mean, she clearly doesn’t make him happy.”
“And how do you know that? You have spoken to him for what? Like five minutes?” He turned them around, making her face the gloomy goalie once more, before he went on. “I might be wrong, sweetheart, but I think you’re just jealous.”
Over his shoulder her gaze met Manuel’s for a split second before his eyes shot to his right, where the blonde teenager stepped into the picture, blocking him from view. She sat down on his lap, her arms dragging around his neck possessively, as her lips met his in a feverish kiss. Averting her gaze immediately, her eyes darkened and her heart clenched heavily in her chest.
“If by jealous you mean disenchanted, you’re right.”
Her bitter words made him loosen his grip on her so that he could see her face, and the hurt in her eyes pained him more than he cared for.
“I know you probably won’t believe me, but he really is a good person.”
She scoffed while her incredulous eyes landed on her uncle’s soft, blue orbs. “Well, he certainly hid that pretty well.”
He gave her a tight lipped smile. “I think he’s just lost his way a little at the moment.”
“So you think I’m right then?”
The excited sparkle in her eyes made him regret his honest words a little.
“I didn’t say that.” He protested strongly. In the end it was not for him to judge his players’ private lives. “After all he is a grown man and he can decide for himself.” He could see her face fall again and so he was quick to add, “Nevertheless, I don’t think you’re completely wrong either.”
He was very pleased to see that his words had caused a small smile to crawl back to her pretty lips. He almost felt like a proud father and when she finally leaned back in a bit closer, her forgiving gesture almost made him a bit bold.
“So, uhm, one more question, sweetheart. In the unlikely event that he should after all need a grown woman to talk to, can I give him your number?”
“Certainly not,” she insisted with a steady voice, but when she looked at him, the adorable grin on her face left no doubt that this was the biggest lie she had ever told.
⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
Manuel was furious as he watched her leave towards the dance floor with the coach. How could she dare call him out like that and then leave without giving him the chance to set her straight? His eyes fixed on her, he watched as Flick pulled her closer, his eyes following her uncle’s hand to the small of her back. Being the gentleman he was, his hand had found the only spot on her back that was actually covered by the dark red fabric of her dress. And for a second he imagined what it might actually feel like to let his hand wander upwards until it covered her bare skin. Or maybe he could let it slip down a few inches, until his fingers would grasp the soft flesh of her behind. He had just been able to fully picture the exact feeling of her body pressed up to his when he could feel the man who actually held her in his arms catch his indecent look on his niece’s back. Immediately he sat up straight, averting his gaze, completely missing the amused smile on the other man’s face, and when he turned back to face him, he almost lost it when he found her sparkling eyes instead.
He was still trying to figure out what had happened, when he heard a familiar voice calling him.
“Hey, babe.” The high pitched noise made him flinch and instinctively his eyes shot to his right, just in time to pull his arms away before she slumped down onto his lap clumsily. She laid it on thickly as her arms wrapped around his neck.
“I missed you on the dance floor, honey bun. Why don’t you come dance with me?”
And before he even had the chance to answer, her lips crashed down on his mouth almost painfully, her tongue forcing his lips to open. The stench of alcohol filled his mouth and he pushed her drunken form off of him determinedly. Before she even had the chance to protest, he lifted her up and placed her in his chair.
“I don’t think dancing is a good idea in your condition.” She glared at him, but then she seemed to have forgotten what for and her lips turned up into a sheepish smile.
“Whatever you say, babe.”
“Look, why don’t you just stay here and I get you a nice, big glass of water to sober you up a little?”
She began to nod, but then her eyes lost focus und she stared past him at god knows what.
“All right, I’ll be back in a sec. Don’t go anywhere.”
Quickly he made his way over to the counter and ordered a whole bottle of water, when he felt the slap of a hand on his left shoulder.
“Wow, you look even more frustrated than after our knock out at the World Cup in 2018. What happened?”
“Don’t ask.” He sighed as he turned around to face his friend. Manuel hoped that he would accept his wish, but when he saw the apologetic look on Thomas’ face, he instantly knew that he wouldn’t drop the topic.
“Too late. I just did.”
With a dramatic roll of his eyes, the next words were spoken more to himself than to his teammate.
“Great, just what I need. Another pain in my ass.”
“Another? Who was the first then?” Obviously Thomas had taken no offence and sounded a bit too cheerful for Manuel’s liking.
“She.”
He looked over at the dance floor, where the impertinent woman was just sending her uncle the most beautiful, cheeky grin he had ever seen.
“Who? Y/N?” his friend asked incredulously.
Y/N. So that was her name.
“You know that annoying woman?”
“I do, although I can’t really say she’s annoying. Met her at the coach’s home once. She seemed rather sweet and intelligent to me.”
“She certainly hid that pretty well,” Manuel growled under his breath, earning him a surprised frown from Thomas.
“Are you gonna stand here and stare daggers at her or are you gonna tell me what she did to make you throw a fit?”
“She approached me out of nowhere to tell me that I’m dating a teenager to compensate my inability to commit to a partner on eye level.”
Thomas let his words sink in for a while.
“That doesn’t really sound like her. I mean, what reason would she have to come at you like that? She doesn’t even know you.”
Manuel sighed, thinking about the way she had somehow coaxed the statements from him instead of making them herself.
“Well, she might have phrased it differently,” he admitted meekly. That seemed to spark Thomas’ interest even further and he could feel his expectant look on him, pressing him to finally tell the whole truth.
“Actually she didn’t say it like that. She only made an allusion and made me somehow say those things myself.”
“Mhm. And exactly what allusion did she make?”
Manuel rolled his eyes again, his ego still fighting to repeat her words out loud.
”She said puberty was a bitch, clearly hinting at the fact that she thought my girlfriend was too young for me.”
He hadn’t even finished his sentence when Thomas’ roaring laughter filled the air.
“Now that does sound more like her.”
He needed a bit to contain himself when he suddenly looked up at Manuel with an unusually serious expression on his face.
“And I have to admit, Manu, she kind of has a fair point there.”
“What?”
Manuel could not believe his ears.
“Come on, man. It’s what everyone thinks. She just said it out loud.”
“Fuck you.”
But instead of rising to his expletive, Thomas just looked at him sympathetically. Pushing himself off of the counter, he pat his shoulder in an attempt to encourage him a little, ready to leave him to his self-denial.
But then he stopped. “You know, I personally didn’t have a problem with it. You’re an adult, you can make your own choices. As long as you’re happy, right? But the truth is, Manu, I don’t think you are. Not anymore.”
⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
“See, I told you he wouldn’t be here. No need for all the panic beforehand.”
She narrowed her eyes at her cousin, shooting her a dirty look.
“Yeah, and I hope it’ll stay that way. Oh, and for the record: I wasn’t panicking at all, it was just you and your sister’s sudden eagerness to lure me here that got me suspicious and nervous in the first place.”
“We didn’t lure you here,” her other cousin piped up a little offendedly. “We simply wanted to spend some time with you. Come on, it’s been what, like 4 months now? Since you moved to Munich three years ago, we hardly get to see you anymore.”
“You and our father,” her sister added quickly. “So it seemed the best option to kill two birds with one stone and bring you along. After all it’s called a family day, right?”
Y/N sighed, not fully convinced, but finally ready to let the topic go.
“Right. Let’s just hope for your sakes that there will be no surprises today that might prove your guilt after all.”
“How are my girls doing?” she heard a familiar voice from behind her back, turning towards her favourite uncle with a beaming smile. What she didn’t see, however, was the brief look that was exchanged between her cousins as soon as she had turned her back, proving exactly what she had suspected all along.
“We’re good, dad. Actually, we’re more than good, we’re excellent,” the older cousin chirped.
“Great.” He paused a moment, but it was clear that he had more to say. Rocking back and forth on his feet, he looked from one woman to the other. “So,” he began carefully, before a huge Cheshire grin spread across his face. “I hope you all reserved a dance for me tonight.”
“Oh, no, daddy, not again.”
“Please, don’t make us do this.”
“There will be dancing here? If you had told me that beforehand, I certainly wouldn’t have come.”
“Of course there will be dancing. I thought that was obvious.” He had to try very hard to look a little slighted, while he actually drew a horrendous amount of amusement from their antics. “Remember, girls, we have a tradition to uphold. Whenever there is some dancing at a party, you have to reserve at least one dance for me. That’s the rule.”
And with that he turned and left them on their own again.
“Ugh, why does he always have to do that to us?” her younger cousin whined.
“Oh stop it, silly. You’re the one who likes it the most and everyone knows.”
⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
She had been the first to pay tribute to the family tradition and after a very exhausting Discofox dance session, luckily one of her cousins had taken over from her. Kicking off her heels, she welcomed the feel of the cool grass underneath the soles of her feet. Walking over to one of the empty tables, she slumped down heavily into one of the comfortable looking chairs. With a contented smile she let herself fall back against the backrest, closing her eyes and breathing in the mild air of the warm summer night.
“Care for a drink?”
His voice made her jump, sitting up straight immediately, eyes shooting wide open. And there he was, two shot glasses in his large hands and grinning down at her, obviously very satisfied with the slight scare he had just given her. He looked amazing, the smug bastard, in his casual jeans and white shirt, two buttons undone, topped with a sporty black jacket. She highly doubted that she had ever seen a finer man in her entire life. Luckily that didn’t make her lose her sharp tongue.
“And here I am thinking that you weren’t fond of alcohol. What happened?”
He smiled sheepishly, only one corner of his mouth tugged up, when he handed her her drink. He took his time, grabbing a chair and positioning it opposite hers, then sitting down carefully, not wanting to spill the shot all over his chest. She had already come to think that he was trying to avoid her question after all, when he locked eyes with her and finally began to speak.
“Hm. It’s been a while since I last saw you. A lot of things happened, you know. Maybe it was finally time for me to grow up.”
“Hear, hear.” With a mischievous smile she raised her glass. “To your coming of age, then.”
He rolled his eyes playfully. “If you insist.”
His magnificent blue eyes never left hers while they chinked glasses, and a second later she could feel the more than welcome liquid moisturising her suddenly very dry mouth.
With a thud, their glasses landed on the table, both of them chuckling like giddy children when their eyes found each other again and then, for a moment, there was nothing but silence. The world seemed to have zoned out, leaving behind nothing but his aquamarine orbs and the wild smile on his face.
Just gradually, the world seemed to set back in again. There was the monotonous clitter of the crickets, overlaid by the muffled sound of the music that was carried over by a soft breeze, and loudest of all she could hear the beating of her own heart against her chest.
“What else has changed now that you are a proper adult?” she heard herself ask, not having the faintest idea where those words came from and how the hell she managed to deliver them so smoothly when her whole body seemed to have gotten out of control.
He took a quick look over his shoulder, his thumb pointing in the same direction.
“If you mean the dancing, I’m still not very fond of that.” Her face must have fallen a little because he was quick to add, “Except...”
“Except what?”
His eyes landed back on hers and she almost choked on her hitching breath.
“Except I think I could make an exception for the right partner.”
From the corner of her eye she registered a movement between their bodies, but she was hesitant to let her view stray from his captivating appearance. At last it was something in his eyes that looked at her expectantly which finally made her snap out of her trance.
Looking down at his hand sheepishly, it took her a while to fathom that he was actually asking her to dance with him.
Slowly her eyes wandered up to his again, asking a silent question, which he answered with an almost imperceptible rise of his eyebrows. And before she knew what she was doing, she laid her hand in his and let him pull her to her feet.
He had just turned towards the source of the music, when she suddenly held him back.
“No, wait.”
With a puzzled look he did what she asked of him and let her twist him back around.
“Why don’t we just stay here? The music is loud enough anyway.”
A gentle smile curved his lips. “Sure, if that’s what you want.”
She nodded softly, her teeth biting down on her lip in excitement.
And before she knew what was happening, she found herself secured against his chest by his firm grip. It felt like being pressed up to a hot furnace which she would usually have appreciated any other time, but on a sweltry night like this and in a place she had wanted to be in for so long, it was pure torture. And as if this wasn’t bad enough already, his strong fingers pressed down on her lower back, threatening to scorch her even through the fabric of her blouse as he pulled her an impossible inch further into him. He was so close now that she could sense the heat radiating off his cheek as well, bringing along a whiff of his enticing scent and she couldn’t help but close her eyes as she inhaled deeply and her head began to spin. It was odd, but her mind was completely blank by now, blank except for one thought and her lips spread into a blissful smile as she repeated it in her head again and again, relishing in the feeling that if either of them moved just the tiniest bit, their cheeks would inevitably touch.
Slowly they moved and despite the unhurried shift of their bodies her heart was beating so violently that she thought it pondered jumping out of her chest to meet his. There was no chance he wouldn’t be able to tell from the way he held her, and when he finally drew away a tad to look at her, she fully expected him to call her out for it.
But he didn’t. Instead his sinfully soft lips curled into a reassuring smile before he spoke.
“You were right.”
“I beg your pardon?”
A cute chuckle escaped his mouth, leaving the corners of his eyes crinkled in the most beautiful display of amusement.
“About what you said at your uncle’s birthday party.”
“Oh.” She had said a lot that evening, words that she had come to regret later and remembering them now set her cheeks on fire. “About what exactly?”
“About everything,” he admitted without hesitation, yet he couldn’t hide the spark of misery that flitted across his sea blue orbs. “Didn’t take me very long after that night to finally see things clearly.”
“I’m sorry to hear that.” It was true. Although she knew that she probably sounded like a madwoman after everything she had confronted him with back then, at least the frown on his forehead seemed to confirm that. “I truly am. I really would have liked to see you happy.” Even if it was with that girl.
She was glad she had managed to keep that last bit to herself. She had no idea why she had said that she was sorry in the first place, but judging by the wild smile on his face it must have been the right words after all.
“Well, I certainly am happier now than I was that night.” He shrugged. “So, thank you, I guess.”
She huffed. “For what? Making absolutely inappropriate remarks on your relationship? I shouldn’t have done that. I know that now. So it should be me who is sorry here, don’t you think?”
She could feel his fingertips press into the soft flesh of her back.
“Don’t be. I guess you were exactly what I needed.” It took him a second before he realised what he had just said. “I mean it. It was exactly what I needed.”
His eyes snapped to the left and she was thankful that he couldn’t see the grin that decorated her lips as she watched the treacherous colour creep into his cheeks, spreading all the way to his ears. For a while he didn’t say another word, probably still trying feverishly to figure out a way to take back his slip of the tongue. And when he finally spoke, she wished he hadn’t.
“There is one thing though that I have gone over and over in my mind. But no matter how long I think about it, it just won’t make sense.”
She already knew that she wouldn’t like where this conversation was heading now, but she found herself asking nonetheless.
“And what is that?”
His head turned without a warning as his eyes searched her gaze and for the blink of an eye his lips came so close that she couldn’t say if they had actually brushed along hers or if her needy heart had just imagined their brief touch. He didn’t answer her question right away, his breath blending with her own in the narrow space between their faces and suddenly she wasn’t so sure anymore if she had really only dreamed up their fleeting foretaste of a kiss.
“Why did you do it?” Panic rose in her chest. She hadn’t done anything. After all it had been him who had turned his head. But as he went on, she realised that he wasn’t referring to that at all and the suffocating distress eased away bit by bit. “I mean, we didn’t even know each other when you decided to come at me like that.”
Now it was her who had to avert her gaze.
“I think I don’t really want to answer that question.”
“Why not?” His voice was so soft and gentle, making it even harder to answer him.
“Because the truth might be kind of ugly.”
“But the outcome wasn’t, so I think I’ll take that risk.”
Her feet stopped their mechanical movements as a violent shiver ran down her spine. So this would be it then. It would be over before it had really begun. Pity. But at least she would have the memory of these few minutes, of his genuine smile and the way he had held her tight against his chest. With a deep sigh she bid their daydream of a dance goodbye.
“I could tell you now that it was for some noble reason, but at the bottom of it all I think it was nothing more than jealousy that drew me to your table that night. I had been unable to ignore you all evening — ignore her. The way she behaved like a spoiled brat, drinking and losing control, not caring in the least that she not only made a fool out of herself but of you as well. God, I hated her in that moment, for having everything I ever wanted and riding roughshod over it. And when I saw you sitting there, looking so utterly crestfallen, somehow I couldn’t help it.”
An undefinable silence settled between them and the only sound that remained was the beat of the music wafting over from the party that went on behind his back. The faint whisper of the melody seemed to push itself up between them and tear them further apart, exactly as she had expected. And just like the bass, her heartbeat slowed until it died away completely.
It was over and everything she wanted to do was let go of his hand so she could do him the favour of leaving, but to her astonishment he refused to set her free. And rather then releasing her from his grip, he squeezed her hand, briefly and just once, but it was enough for her to find the courage and face him. But instead of finding a frown or a scornful pair of eyes, his blinding smile made her forget to breathe for a moment.
“I had hoped you might say that.” And with that he pulled her into his arms again and continued swaying her to the music as if she had not just revealed her repulsive self to him. Her brain still a step behind, she couldn’t do anything but stare up at him stupidly.
“What? Why?”
“Isn’t that obvious?” And when she shook her head like a petrified imbecile, an amused chuckle rumbled through his chest. “Because even though your behaviour was extremely infuriating, I have to admit that I like you. And asking you out on a date will be so much easier now that I know you like me too.”
With a violent jolt, the useless muscle inside her chest started to beat again, its heavy pounding filling her ears with white noise as the world around her started to spin. Unable to stop the motion, she felt herself leaning in, her nails digging into the undoubtedly expensive fabric of his jacket as she desperately tried to gain control over her unruly body.
“So, will you go out with me?”
It seemed like an eternity until she finally mustered the strength for a mechanical nod. Neither had she noticed in her struggle that he had stopped dancing, nor that the priceless look on her face had made his eyes and heart go soft for her.
“Great. That’s settled then. When are you free?”
It was only when he took a step back, taking his warmth with him as his hand slipped out of hers, that she snapped out of her trance.
“Now.”
“Now? Like right now?”
More like now as in before she could screw everything up again.
“Yes, why not? I know you have a busy schedule, so finding a date when we are both free might be tough. And above that, it is a beautiful summer evening.”
Had all those words really fallen from her mouth right now? Embarrassed about her lack of composure, her hand flew up to her mouth, making him smile again.
“I guess you have a fair point there.” And just like that, his hand was there again, fingers entwining slowly with hers like they had never been meant for anyone else. “All right then, let’s get out of here.”

DELTARUNE SPOILERS
Heyyy! I wrote a thing involving Jevil and the Chapter 2 Superboss! I'm going to put it under the cut, but at the end, there will also be an Ao3 link if you wanna support me there!
Thank you! Remember to Reblog if you wanna
The Lightner Trio walked down the stairs in the Queen's massive manor, their hurried footsteps echoing like a rough pitter-patter in the technological nightmare. The massive lair confused and bamboozled them, but they definitely wanted to figure out the mystery behind what the Fountains were about, what Queen's true intentions were… and what was in the basement?
"Uhh… Kris?" Ralsei asked, his soft voice echoing out. "Why are we even here? Aren't Queen, Noelle, and Berdly upstairs? And not here…?"
Susie quickly interrupted him, punching his arm lightly to get his attention. "Of COURSE they aren't here. But whatever is here is probably important. Right, Kris?"
"I guess!" The currently blue human replied. "I've been asked by some… guy, about doing these weird favors for him. He really wants me to be alone."
"We sure he ain't a p-" Before Susie could finish her thought, Ralsei muffled her mouth with his scarf. "Who is he? And why does he want you to be alone?"
"His name is Spamton, I think. I don't know much about him, but he gave me this Loaded Disk earlier, and--"
Suddenly, a strange, chaotic voice rang out. Everyone recognized it. The tail attached to Ralsei's cloak popped off, diamonds and hearts flying out with it. The tail spun and took form, and the chaotic Jester they quite literally put to rest yesterday was reawakened.
"Spamton? SPAMTON? The same Spamton who wished for me to go, to go, and be free, free?" Jevil laughed chaotically, with Ralsei caught quite off guard. "You know him?"
"That dorito chip was part of the reason why I was set free, he was! He used to rule this world, before the Queen I've been hearing oh so much about took over. Oh, I MUST know more of how you met that ridiculous lunatic! And that's coming from ME, ME! Spamton, oh Spamton, I'd like to have a word with him~!" Jevil looked quite pissed off, his normally jovial expression looking slightly stern.
"I didn't wanna go down there anyway. Just come back, okay? You're kind of carrying us with your defense boost." Kris, with a neutral expression, gave the clown the disk they were gifted by the malignant salesman, and watched as Jevil immediately sprinted off into the basement. They could hear an echoed "Buh bye~! I'll be back in a few hundred words!" As the jester descended into the decrepit basement below...
Jevil entered the musty, rotting cellar. Despite him rarely stepping on the ground, each step he did take left a haunting impact on his feet. It was silent, save for the occasional rustling of his clothes. He didn't have long to do this. His physical form only had a few hours to be out and about before he solidified, just like the young boy and the puzzle freak. Thankfully, that's all he needed. He was getting excited, almost giddy, to interact once more with his old acquaintance. Oh, what a wonderful conversation they'd have!
He didn't walk for too much longer before he found the train station that was buried deep below. Or was it a roller coaster? Whoever had this built clearly had some elaborate roundabout in mind… too bad they were still imprisoned, haha! Jevil walked and floated across the tracks, reaching a room with a decaying robot inside.
He knew this was a bad idea. But when did he ever have good ideas?
Without hesitating, the joker put the disk into the robot. At first, nothing happened, and he was getting impatient VERY quick. He gave the robot a swift kick in the lower area, before stepping back out of the room.
Step…
Step…
SLAM! The clown was admittedly caught off guard with how fast the silhouette from above came and pushed him onto his knees. With a small gasp for air, Jevil looked up slowly at the encroaching menace. The jagged movements, the glitchy, unsolidified form… this was him alright.
"KRIS… MY LOYAL [Sponge!] THANK… YOU. THE [Clown Around Town!] I REMEMBER YOUR [Disgusting] FACE. EVERYONE WAS SO [Thrilled] TO SEE YOUR [Calcified] FACE." The massive robotic behemoth loomed over Jevil, rage in his glasses. Spamton NEO.
The clown got up, a smug, shitfaced expression on his mug. He knew damn well that the dorito in front of him was pissed off, so he leaned back in the air to retort. "At least I drink plenty of milk, uee hee hee! As for you, you haven't changed one bit since we last spoke~! Or would it be a byte, a byte? Regardless, I do hope you've given up on the illusion of freedom, freedom~! The only one who can be free is MEEE!"
The robotic menace swung around to the other side of Jevil, making it very clear who was in charge of the conversation. A small concentrated blast of Pipis was fired at the jester, pushing him back with a surprising amount of force. "YOU ACT SMUG, BUT YOU [Crashed our stocks!] AND THEN YOU [Spoiled relations with our Esteemed Partners!] I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU… GOT IN HERE, YOU… [Tuna Fish,] BUT I'M NOT FALLING FOR YOUR [Roundabout!] AGAIN!"
Jevil laughed maniacally at this thought. This guy was mad! Over something that happened how long ago? Why even bother holding a grudge still? Petty, petty! He knew why, and it's why he came back too. "You influenced him. That pretty little kitty. You gave him enough funds to release me into that carousel of bliss and innocence! But I wasn't done, not one bit! And all those years, spent being free… they made me realize something, my dearest Spamton."
The oddly calm tone coming from the jester put Spamton NEO at an incredible amount of unease. "WHAT? WHAT COULD YOUR [Calcified Lump] THINK OF THAT WOULD MEAN ANY GODDAMN THING TO ME?"
"I CAN DO ANYTHING!"
The joker used his latent power to pelt the giant mecha with small white hearts. Spamton was caught off-guard, stumbling back a fair amount. Of course, you have to fight fire with fire, so the robot used his abilities to send out a Big Shot of blue Spamton Head Pipis.
"YOU [Saturated Marketshare!] YOU CAN'T SIMPLY ATTACK ME AND EXPECT IT TO WORK [As seen on TV!] I'M A [BIG SHOT!] [BIG SHOT!!!]"
Jevil hopped up onto the ceiling, clearing the first few Pipis on the lower row heading his way. Unfortunately, the higher row caught him clean in the face as he bounced between the two, making a small Jack-in-the-box melody as he pinged around.
"SPAMTON, MY BELOATHED! I DON'T THINK YOU UNDERSTAND, UNDERSTAND, WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU'RE TRAPPED IN A CAGE WITH A SHARK, A SHARK! YOU GET BITTEN AND CHEWED UP!"
The fool retaliated by running circles around Spamton, turning into a carousel of horse bullets! The robot, in a surprising feat of puppeteering, dodged the attack almost perfectly… until a stray horsie cut a string, sending the mech's right arm into the horse race. One thing about arms with cannons on them? They fire.
As soon as it happened, Jevil was face to face with a swarm of Pipis all around him. He was stuck. All of them exploded brilliantly, sending the clown flying clean across the rotting tracks and into the wall. Tauntingly, mockingly even, Spamton NEO retorted.
"I'M THE SHARK NOW, JEVIL! I'VE CHEWED UP SO MANY [Failed Buisness Partners] THAT I COULD MAKE A WHOLE [Presentation] OUT OF THEM! STAY OUT OF MY GODDAMN WAY, OR [Sparkle like new!] YOU BRAT."
The buisnessman charged at Jevil, his hands becoming phones. "IT'S FOR YOU." Suddenly, before either of them could react, loud blasts of garbage noise manifest expelled from the phones, attacking the court jester with white blasts of energy. There was nothing he could do to stop this robot's onslaught, it looked like.
"OH SPAMTON, IS THAT WHAT YOU THINK? THAT YOU'RE THE ONE WHO'S SO POWERFUL RIGHT NOW, NOW? I'D SUGGEST YOU LOOK UP, UP! YOU'RE NOTHING WITHOUT THOSE STRINGS IMPRISONING YOU, UEE HEE HEE! YOU'RE NOT A BIG SHOT, YOU'RE JUST A LAZY FRAUD WHO CAN'T STOP HANGING ON TO HIM! I GUESS SLEEPING FOR 100 YEARS DOESN'T MAKE LITTLE OLD ME MISS MUCH, RIGHT?"
Without warning, Jevil was myseriously gone from his corner. The spamware looked frantically for his target, before being struck in the arm, the leg, and the chest by scythes. Devilsknives. The last knive cut a few strings clean off the puppet, who briefly hit the ground before rising back up.
"SHUT UP! SHUT UP! [Hyperlink Blocked.] I'M STILL HIS LOYAL ASSOCIATE! HE MAY NOT HAVE TALKED TO ME IN [Employee of The Month for 144 months!] BUT HE'S STILL THERE…"
Jevil interrupted him cleanly and concisely. "FACE IT. YOU'RE NO BIG SHOT ANYMORE, SPAMTON G. SPAMTON. ALL YOU ARE IS A FAILED INVESTMENT, UEE HEE HEE!"
With those words, a purple blast came from behind the clown, striking the robot right in the noggin. He flew back a bit, giving the joker enough time to turn around to meet his esteemed guests.
"Ah, my imprisoners~! Didn't you guys have a Queen to rock-em sock-em?"
Susie immediately cut him off, as she punched him in the arm (causing his head to spring up, naturally.) "Well, Kris over here couldn't shake the feeling things were off. So they forced us down here, and now they're right. Somehow?"
"I know I'm right.. Jevil, who the hell is Spamton?" Kris replied, their worry about the situation starting to rise.
"It's of no concern to you~! His screws were almost as loose as mine, and I don't think it's my job to tighten them~! Uee hee hee! Thank you for the help, but I can do anything~! Even tell you guys that 3 coasters are about to come down and force you guys along for the ride~!"
Ralsei immediately stuttered something out. "Three… what?"
And just like that, with a loud rumbling, the heroes were swept up into 3 old, rusty carts, barrelling down the track. Jevil laughed to himself, proud of what he got to do. "Ah well, it's a shame I can't finish him personally…"
"But oh well! Are you proud, proud? They took care of him…"
"Doctor."

I'm not a writer but here's my best try at a 'comfort fic.' hope you like it.
Jensen x Becca
"Fuck! Not again!" Becca grunted, throwing her computer on the floor of her bedroom. The fragile bundle of plastic, metal and glass landing with a less than satisfying thud. Becca had half a mind to take it outside to the garage and beat the damn thing with a hammer until nothing remained.
She begrudgingly dragged herself from her bed, stepping over the object, fighting the urge to stomp on it, as she made her way out of her bedroom.
"Oh, hey." Becca said opening her door to her roommate, Jensen, with his hand in midair about to knock.
"Hey, uh, you okay? What was that thud? You stub your toe or somethin'?" He inquired with a cheeky grin, that is until he seen the unimpressed expression on her face. His tone then became much softer, softer than she was used to. "What's wrong, sweetheart?"
Becca closed her eyes with a sigh, before releasing the flood gates, and airing her frustration to the emerald eyes staring back at her.
"Nothing, it's just my laptop, it's been messing up for a while now, and it just quit on me. Like completely dead. And now I have no way to do any of my work, or write my stories. Which means I'm gonna be even more broke this week because I'm gonna miss all my deadlines. Which also means I can't afford another computer which will put me even more behind and I'm never gonna catch up, and I'm just so, so very so tired. And-"
"Hey, hey, calm down for a second and take a deep breath." Jensen said, gently cupping her cheek, running his thumb across her cheekbone.
Becca complied.
"Okay, and another."
He paused while she took another deep breath.
"Good. Now come here." Jensen smiled as he pulled Becca into his chest. One hand came up to cradle the back of her head, as the other wrapped around her lower back pulling her body flush to his own.
For a long moment he said nothing, gently rocking her while they stood there in the doorway of her bedroom. It wasn't long before Becca burst into tears, crying into his neck as he held her close.
See it wasn't just the stupid laptop eating away at her, actually it was everything. Lately it just seemed like the world was closing in on her. Becca's anxiety had been through the roof for weeks now, and she just couldn't take it anymore.
Not to mention the fact that she was in love with her best friend, who was in love with someone else. Standing there in his arms crying her eyes out, she allowed herself to imagine that he loved her the way she loved him.
She was almost able to believe it, but she knew better.
"Okay listen, here's what we're gonna do-" he started, leaning away from her so he could look into her eyes, wiping away her tears. "I'm gonna go run you a bath with some of that bubbly shit you like, and you're gonna go in there and relax for a while."
"Jensen you don't have to do that, I can run my own bath." Becca sighed with a roll of her eyes.
"I know you can, that's not the point. Now go find some clothes to put on, and I'll go get it ready. Ok?" He confirmed. Becca just nodded, and he grinned before kissing her head and walking off towards the bathroom.
'Stupid, sweet boy.' she thought to herself, opening her dresser to gather her things.
Ten minutes passed before Jensen called her into the bathroom, and when Becca entered she couldn't believe her eyes.
He had done more than just prepare a bath for her. No, he had set the scene entirely.
He had lit candles, and sprinkled rose petals along the floor and over the bubbles in the bathtub. There was a bottle of wine and a wine glass sitting on the counter, and her favorite song was playing from the bluetooth speaker.
"Jensen.. wow." She breathed, already feeling like she may cry again.
"Ah, it's nothing." He dismissed, rubbing the back of his neck and nibbling on his full bottom lip.
"Nothing.. what? Jensen this is beautiful. No one's ever done anything for me, remotely as sweet as this before." She said, gesturing around the room.
"Well.. I'm glad you like it, darlin', enjoy. I'll let you know when dinners ready." Jensen stepped around her, kissing her temple, before closing the door behind himself.
Now Becca's head was swimming with thoughts of what that means. It's not that it's unusual for Jensen to kiss her head, but he'd never done it twice in one day, let alone in ten minutes.
Becca got undressed, clipped her hair up, and slowly eased her aching body into the scorching hot water, a dreamy sigh escaping her lips.
She inhaled the thick scent of lavander as her eyes drifted shut, relishing in the feeling of her entire body relaxing all at once.
It wasn't long before she was fast asleep, the wine long forgotten on the counter. Before she knew it Jensen was gently knocking on the door with the promise of delicious food right down the hallway.
As Becca entered the kitchen, her mouth once again hit the floor.
Jensen had once again set the scene. He'd dimmed the lights, lit candles, put on some quiet music in the background, and the dinner he'd made for the two of them was spread out on the table.
"Omg, what's all this?" She gasped, eyes as big as saucers.
"Oh nothing really, just trying to help ya relax, ya know? Come sit."
Becca slowly walked to the table, becoming even more confused when he pulled the seat out for her, sliding it under her as she sat down.
"Again, Jensen, this is not nothing." She almost whispered, not even sure if he'd heard her until he sat down across from her.
"Just enjoy this will ya? It's no big deal, I just hate seeing you so stressed out, especially when something as simple as this will make you feel better. Hopefully, anyways."
Becca nodded, looking at the juicy burger and crispy fries in front of her, hearing her stomach rumble at the thought of food.
They both sat in comfortable silence as they ate. Becca constantly wondering what had gotten into him. Why was he being so sweet? It's not unlike him to care, but grand gestures like this? Fucking weird.
Occasionally the pair would make eye contact and they'd both smile a little, but they never spoke.
When dinner was over Jensen took their plates to the sink before coming back over to Becca, taking her hand.
"Come with me." Jensen said pulling her to her feet.
He quietly led them to his bedroom, making her close her eyes before he opened his door. He led her into the center of his room and let go of her hand.
"Okay. Open em'."
Becca opened her eyes to see that Jensen had set up his bed with every pillow in the house, her weighted blanket folded up at the foot of his bed, a basket full of the candy they keep in the kitchen was on his nightstand, and her favorite movie was up on his tv.
This time when Becca seen what Jensen had set up, she'd had enough.
"Whadaya think? Movies and cuddles sound good?" He asked, as he slid his arm around her shoulders, leaning in to ONCE AGAIN kiss her temple.
Becca pulled away, taking a large step backwards.
"Jensen enough, what are you doing? This is so weird. What's going on?" She huffed.
"Becca, I told you already I'm just trying to help you relax."
Becca couldn't even stand to look at him. Here he was doing something that was incredibly meaningful for her, but to him it was no big deal? This is what she'd always wanted, especially from him, but not in the way she'd hoped. This was too big, it was like rubbing it in her face that this man, who's done these amazing things for her, would never truly be hers.
"Jensen. I.. I think I just need to lie down. Thank you for all this, but I just need some sleep." Becca turned and started for the door, trying to get away from him before the tears in her eyes could fall..but Jensen stopped her with a gentle touch on her arm.
"Becca come on, just one movie? Please?"
Becca couldn't look at him, couldn't even speak, and with a gentle tug of her arm, she walked out of his room.
But, to her dismay, Jensen followed.
Becca didn't have the energy to fight him, and as she entered her room, she left the door open behind her. Sure enough, he followed, closing the door behind him.
"Becca please, tell me what's wrong. I can't help you if you won't tell me what's wrong."
Becca still hadnt looked at him.
"Nothing's wrong Jensen, I'm just tired." She replied weakly.
"Bullshit. You're crying. Why?"
She couldn't hold it in any longer.
"Because Jensen! Because you're too fucking perfect. I know you're just trying to make me feel better but it means more than that to me." She yelled, finally facing him. "Because you mean more to me than you should, and I can't handle you doing things like that for me, because I know you're not doing it for the reason I want you to be." She finished quietly.
"Sweetheart-"
"Stop calling me that," she shot back.
"Becca. What are you saying?" Jensen asked quietly.
"You don't love me. And when you do stuff like all this, it makes me feel like you do. And I can't take it."
"Don't love you? What the fuck?" Jensen snapped, anger and confusion flooding his system. "I did all this BECAUSE I love you."
"Not like I love you." Becca whispered, tears falling freely down her face.
"And how exactly is that?" He asked, taking a slow step towards her.
"Shit Jensen, you really gonna make me spell it out for you?? I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU." She cried.
Jensen grinned. Actually GRINNED at her.
"Becca, I'm in love with you too, sweetheart. Always have been. I mean shit, literally since the day we met."
"What?" Becca asked dumbly.
"You heard me."
Becca felt dizzy, and her knees felt weak, just as she started to buckle, Jensen caught her. He scooped her up into his arms bridal style, and took her back to his room.
Jensen gently laid Becca on his bed, covering her up with her weighted blanket before climbing in beside her.
He leaned over her and planted a wet kiss on her forehead, before repeating the action on the top of her nose, before finally connecting their lips for the first time.
They kisses for a long moment before Becca suddenly pulled away.
"Wait. You're in love with me??"
Jensen just laughed.
"Yes baby, come here."
Becca cuddled into Jensens side, laying her head on his chest, knee across his groin, breathing in his delicious cologne.
"Get some sleep babygirl, we'll talk about this in the morning, and see about getting you a new laptop, okay?"
Becca didn't even try to argue with him because she knew it would do absolutely no good.
"Okay," she sighed.
"I love you."
"I love you too, Jensen."
And together they drifted off into blissfull sleep.

When A God Gets Lost
Chapter 1
Summary: There are bad ways to travel; then, there are terrible ways to travel. Teleporting to another dimension through the Æther is the latter, apparently. But as the old Bengali adage goes, even tigers will eat grass when they're starving.
Maybe a Midgardian from a different dimension isn't such a bad travel companion after all.
Author's note: This is my submission for the @allaboardthereadingrailroad 's Marvel Diversity Challenge. The OFC is an Indian- a Bengali, more specifically.

Loki had known this would come to pass. He had known what he had signed up for, when he'd agreed to accompany Thor to Svartalfheim.
He'd even welcomed his own death.
At the time, the sweet prospect of release had seemed to be a gift from Valhalla.
So he hadn't tried to stop it from happening.
Except, he had.
Blood dripping from his mouth, Loki struggled to let go of strings of seiðr desperately anchoring him to his body.
Dust settled on his mottled blue skin. His ears were ringing, and blacks spots seemed to have been tattooed into his retinas.
If not for the pain, Loki would've laughed at the irony of the situation. Once again, despite all his orchestrations, he was a helpless spectator, strung tight while instincts battled brain.
White hot pain seared his entire body, radiating from the wound to his extremities, as he fought to make the tendrils of seiðr retreat. Unfortunately, it was tied to his genes, bound intricately to the essence of his consciousness. It kept him from slipping into the much anticipated slumber, tightening its hold exponentially.
Numbly, Loki thought of all the times he had heard people talk about life flashing before one's eyes before the final rest settled in.
Loki saw nothing, however. The only thing that passed before his eyes was the dreaded vision of violet sparks of seiðr curling around his own, slowly drawing his life force from him.
The salt of his tears mixed with the metallic tang of blood in his mouth. This helplessness was something he had vowed to never fall into, ever again. But here he lay, defeated yet victorious, in a veritable stream of his own blood, fighting the very instincts that had brought him thus far in life.
Odin, Frigga, Thor… Asgard. They had all taken everything from him, everything he had ever treasured. Self worth, family, his very identity…
Loki had hoped that he could find it in death. Who he really was.
But no, he had been stripped of that luxury, too. Not once, not twice… several times. Twice at his behest, and several times at another's, humiliated and agonized.
Maybe I should stop fighting.
But that wasn't who he was. Loki may not have known who he truly was, but he knew what he wasn't. He had never been one to stop fighting.
But what am I fighting for? Will this right my transgressions? Their transgressions?
Maybe sometimes… to stop fighting was to land the ultimate blow.
Gasping for breath, pain ripping his innards to shreds, he looked down at his midriff. There it was; his seiðr. The only measure of identity he had left. It was flowing from his fingers, from his mouth, weaving between his wounds, holding him together in every sense.
Loki's head fell back as he gave in to it, letting his instincts take over.
He didn't know how much effect his seiðr would have, but seeing as he couldn't do anything about it, apparently…
Unfortunately, he had underestimated the power of his own magicks. Seiðr, in every form, was sentient in its own right. Unbeknownst to Loki, continuous exposure to two infinity stones had affected his own magic in several subtle ways. Seiðr learns from itself and grows- he had learnt this even before he knew how to speak complete sentences.
Never had he thought that magic of such cosmic levels could mingle with his own.
Until he saw a few straggling fragments of the Æther hovering around his limp form.
In its urgency to revive him, his seiðr had drawn the Æther to itself, having turned into something resembling a magnet for cosmic powers.
To his horror, the bloodred fragments of the Æther clustered around him, forming a small tornado of dust and seiðr, swooping in to throw an eerie light over him.
The light only grew in intensity. The pain was lessening- his body was almost completely numb now. Wind howled in his ears, and flashes of green and red blinded him.
Satisfied with its work, his seiðr rose to greet the Æther.
Loki had been completely pinned to the ground. He struggled to look down, and saw that the wound had healed almost all the way through- enough to let him survive.
Immediately, he tried to draw back the seiðr. Enough damage had been done, he didn't need any more adventures.
The seiðr had other ideas, apparently.
Green and red danced together, shimmering and singing a shrill, haunting tune that rattled Loki to the core, producing a stab of pain in his gut.
Oh. His seiðr could only do so much. The spear that had impaled him must've been poisoned…
Which meant that his control over his seiðr was limited, and it knew it.
And thus, it was trying to regain strength by sapping it off the one of the most dangerous entities in all of the Realms.
Unlike normal seiðr, the Æther- as well as the other Infinity Stones- needn't be bound to an individual. They had their own separate existence.
Loki didn't even want to know what might happen if it bound itself to him.
Unfortunately, the velocity of the mingling magicks was growing, forming a pitch black void above him.
Fuck.
A sound of surprise and shock was the last thing that left his mouth before he was sucked into the vortex.
A deep rumble ran through the entirety of Svartalfheim when the dust settled- almost as though the Realm heaved a sigh of relief.
----
Aakshya's head hurt. Half an hour on the Arambagh local train with two three year olds bawling their lungs out less than two metres away could do that to anyone.
The last few days weighed down on her. It was all so surreal. Her last living relative- the last one she had been on good terms with, anyway- was gone.
Aakshya sighed softly, adjusting her glasses as her eyes filled with tears. She blinked them away. It wasn't surprising, not really. Her great aunt had been quite aged, but losing her was still a blow she wasn't quite prepared to deal with.
At least here, she could mourn in peace.
The Chandur forest had always been her happy place. After very long weeks at work, she had a habit of spending the weekend in a small resort here, sometimes. It was just quiet enough to help her recuperate.
The resort was still half an hour away. She decided to take her time today.
The sky was darkening, and she could see the moon through the spaces between the canopies of the trees.
The moon seemed larger today. Or maybe that was just the tears in her eyes.
She sped up a little, a prickly feeling spreading over her nape.
Were the trees rustling a bit more than usual? No, that must've been the wind… right?
Aakshya stopped dead in her tracks, clutching her bag tightly.
To her right, someone stumbled in the dark, groaning deeply and uttering a string of incoherent words in a language she couldn't recognize.
Maybe it was just the owner of the resort... Though why would she be here? Wouldn't she be at the resort itself?
"Sukanya Di, tumi?"she called out timidly. "Tumi ekhane ki korcho?" Is that you, Sukanya? What are you doing here?
She whipped around, frightened.
The sight that greeted her eyes was unnerving.
A blue-skinned, armour-clad man, covered in blood, was half sprawled on the ground, chest heaving as he struggled to rise.
The weirdest thing was that he was surrounded by red and green light that seemed to be trying to enter his body.
Aakshya stumbled backwards- but then she yelped when the man's hand shot forward and grabbed her upper arm, preventing her from fleeing.
"What is this place?"he rasped, using her as support to pull himself up to full height. Aakshya's eyes widened- he was over a foot taller than her, and he seemed to have been impaled clean through his chest.
Judging from the blood, the wound was fresh; but it was already closing in front of her eyes.
What in the world-
"I asked you something, mortal,"he snapped, shaking her a little. It affected his balance, apparently, because he swayed dangerously, catching himself by steadying himself against a nearby tree.
"Are you- is this some kind of a prank?"she squeaked, trying to pry his fingers off of her.
The man growled, and then coughed up a little more blood. "Answer the bloody question, girl."
"Earth, we're on Earth,"Aakshya managed, now fighting to get out of his hold. "Unhand me, you-"
If the fact that a man who had been impaled quite recently was stronger than her was a matter of concern, it didn't strike her then, as she attempted to scratch and bite him. The man merely grunted in annoyance, retaliating by giving her another shake.
"You're lying,"he snarled. "This cannot be Midgard."
"I don't know what's going on, but-"
"Unless… no…" He seemed to be speaking to himself now, though his scarlet eyes were on her.
It was completely dark now, and Aakshya was in the hold of some creep in a forest.
Well, I'm fucked.
----
Loki couldn't believe how bad his luck was. His chest stung with every laboured breath, and the Æther was still swirling around him, and now he had been transported to a different dimension.
He could feel it.
Which meant…
There were two of him in this dimension alone.
Oh, fuck.
Meanwhile, the girl was still trying to free herself from his grasp.
Loki gave her a crooked grin. "Looks like you're stuck with me now."
She gave him a look of outrage. "No, I-"
"What's your name?"
She seemed to quell under his gaze. "Aakshya."
"Pretty name. I'm Loki, God of Mischief and Father of Magick."
Aakshya scowled, trying to hit him. "Look, if this is some weird cosplay thing, I'm really not in the mood-"
Loki sighed, using the dredges of his seiðr to still her. "Girl, I've been impaled with a poison tipped spear and thrown into a different dimension, so I'm not in the mood for your tantrums."
Her eyes bulged with rage and she tried in vain to bite him.
"How about you and I go on a nice little walk, hmm? I can sense your loneliness and heartache, girl. I am very perceptive,"Loki said with a small smirk. "I can help you, if you help me. What say you?"
"I say you're a dangerous, senile man who's a bit too obsessed with mythology,"Aakshya spat, struggling to move.
Loki laughed softly. "Oh, but a little danger never hurt."

Because I need constant validation, here’s the reworked start of that North Bound, Due South.  *strokes it*
Castiel waited, hands folded at his lower back, eyes straight ahead.  He could hear it all, a susurrus that, if he allowed it, would overwhelm his mind.  It had taken him years of careful training to learn how to narrow his telepathy or block out those around him. Silent as a statue in his rumbled suit, fresh from a red-eye from the East Coast, he knew without even opening those channels, that they spoke of him.  Hard not to when every eye turned his way.  Frowns, confusion, some outright hostility.
Interloper.  He wasn't one of them.  Beyond the badge, he wasn't them.  It wouldn’t have surprised him to know news had spread of a telepath coming. Gossip had fleet wings, after all. His mouth firmed.  He let his senses thread out slightly and there it was: suspicion, who the fuck is he?, what was Singer thinking?  It began to blur into a swarm of unease.  An oppressive shove against his mind.
He shut his shields down and shivered. Great.  So, not only was an FBI agent on site, it was an FBI telepath. And much as it hurt, Castiel understood. He could pluck the thoughts of the unwilling and send a healthy man into a drooling coma.  If he chose. Without diligent training, it would be hard to protect against a telepath hellbent on injury.
He resisted the urge to sigh and rub his forehead.  He’d warned Balthazar this would happen.  When he’d offered his insight, he’d hoped it would be limited to conferences with Singer himself.  Just information based on what they’d gleaned five years ago.  But his director was an ass on a good day; Balthazar probably thought it hilarious that an FBI telepath would be plunked in the middle of Downtown Portland.
Balthazar, I’m blaming you for whatever arises.  He was tired, his head hurt, and Singer was late.  He only hoped all this disruption would be worth it.  If they could find the killer and stop them before they ramped up again, it would be worth whatever harassment he had to wade through.
He still remembered the first scene in Nevada.  The most violent death he’d ever witnessed in his career.  Hard to believe he’d see nine more just as horrendous before the year was out.  All telepaths.  All burned out.  What the Portland Police Department likely didn’t know was the killer was likely a telepath as well.  The way the murders were completed, it was as though their minds were hollowed out. Sanitized even.
That was Castiel’s working theory, anyway.  He had no clear proof given they hadn’t even narrowed down who the killer was. It was possible they’d developed a method of harming telepaths completely.  Or it was a fluke.  But he recalled Dr. Moseley’s remarks on the first death.
There’s nothing there, Agent. The brain . . . what’s there, anyway, is just shreds.
He had to wonder at the hate that burned in someone to do something so violent.  He knew that telepaths were largely misunderstood and mistrusted. Even fifty years after the first telepaths began to emerge, nothing had truly changed.  Other than the handful of laws now in place to prevent their mental snooping.  Which, in all honesty, were difficult to enforce given the lack of physical evidence.
Castiel sighed again.  Not his field, however.  He was an FBI agent, first and foremost.  That he retained the skills of a telepath was just a tool in his pouch.  And a tool he employed very rarely.  The first time he’d read someone’s mind, he’d been thirteen.  Cusp of puberty.  And madly in love with his best friend.  The revulsion he’d read there, when he’d confessed, had scarred him.  To his face, his friend had been kind and understanding. But Castiel had seen the truth. And it never left him.
He knew what telepaths were and what they represented.  But he also knew that no one but another telepath understood the torment they went through.  Learning to sort one’s own thoughts from others.  Keeping themselves sane enough to simply go to a grocery store.
If the general populace truly understood telepathy, they’d look at them with pity instead of hatred.
He was drawn from his memories by a steady, heavy tread.  A bearded man in a suit and dress shirt, gun on his belt.  Castiel recognized Police Chief Singer immediately.  The man sullenly following behind, however, he didn’t know.  He looked close to Castiel’s age, perhaps younger.  Tall, brown hair, green eyes.
      And angry.
Great.  And knowing it the wrong tact, but hoping to stave off any unnecessary strife, Castiel narrowed his focus on the man.  A whisper of a touch and he could get an idea how to handle this man.  Just enough for that insight to keep him from igniting what was likely a hair-trigger temper given the set of his jaw.
      He blinked.
Nothing.  Absolutely nothing reached him.  Hands clenching at the small of his back, he tried again, wondering if he’d been distracted.  But no; that void remained.  This wasn’t a block.  This wasn’t someone trained – as many police forces tried – to prevent telepathic intrusion.
This was a shield.  He focused on the man as he shut off his senses. This man, whoever he was, was an expert at blocking telepaths.  Not trained in a weekend or a month even.  The shield was solid as rock without a crack in place.
Who the hell are you? Castiel thought.
Bright, angry green met his eyes as Singer stepped into the office.  Castiel had a moment’s panic that he knew what he’d done.  But the man said nothing and did nothing, other than stay about an arm’s length behind Singer, arms folded and jaw tense.
“Agent Novak?” Police Chief Singer rumbled.  He held out a hand and shook Castiel’s.  “Welcome to Portland.  Good flight?”
Castiel smiled wearily.  “Long flight,” he said.
Singer smirked.  “Sorry for the short notice.  We got a second one this morning.”  He jerked his thumb over his shoulder, moving on before Castiel could remark.  “This is Detective Dean Winchester; he’s lead here on the two murders we have.”  He slapped Dean in the chest with the back of his hand.  “He’s been told to play nice with the Feds.”
Even better.  Castiel forced a smile and held out his hand to Dean. While the shield troubled him, often skin-to-skin contact could work in strengthening his telepathy.  It was also feasible that his travel had worn him down too much, though he doubted that.  “Detective Winchester.  Pleasure to meet you.  I assure you, the FBI is only here to help.”
Detective Winchester eyed his hand a moment before taking it.  While Dean’s mental block was total, his outward emotion was a simple thing to read. He distrusted Castiel entirely. He let go of Castiel and grunted, “So, what’s a leech doing all the way out West, dealing with us plebians?”  He smirked.  “You get demoted or something?  Snoop on the boss’ wife?”
Castiel swallowed, internally bristling at the slur.  Tucking it away, he returned to the matter at hand.  The contact with Dean had done nothing to crack the man’s block.  He stepped back, unsettled.  Ignoring the slight from before, he cleared his throat. “Director Miller suspects you may be dealing with a murderer we discovered in Nevada five years ago.  He thought perhaps I could lend a hand.”  He gestured to Singer.  “Your chief did invite me here, after all.”
“I’m aware,” Dean drawled, clearly annoyed by that.  He looked at Singer.  “Is this really necessary?”
Singer smacked Dean in the chest a second time, harder given how Dean swayed.  “Quiet.  If he’s got info, that’s good for us.  Keep your tongue still, Winchester.”
Castiel watched the exchange carefully. While the detective’s expression didn’t change, his tension eased at Singer’s command.  So, Chief Singer was someone Dean clearly trusted.  Which only meant that if push came to shove, Castiel would have to go over Dean’s head to Singer to resolve things.  Not something he’d wish to pursue but at least he had the option.
Detective Winchester breathed in and out, scowling.  “Huh.” He sighed and shrugged.  “Fine, if the leech is useful.”  He smirked at Castiel.  “Guess that means I’m your leash.”
Other than a slight frown directed at Detective Winchester, Singer didn’t reply.  Instead, he swatted the man a third time, causing him to swear. “Treat him like a partner, asshole. I don’t give a shit if he can read minds; if he can help, we need it.”  He turned to Castiel.  “He gives you any trouble you’ve got my okay to turn his brains to mush.”
Castiel’s mouth quirked though he refrained from meeting the detective’s eyes.  “I doubt that will be necessary, sir.”
Singer eyed him.  “Anyway, got you a room at a hotel near Dean’s building. He’ll take you there.”  He turned to Dean.  “Now.”
Detective Winchester rolled his eyes and waved a hand in impatience.  “Fine.  C’mon, Agent Leech.  Your carriage awaits.”  Without seeing if Castiel complied, he turned and moved away, heading toward the front of the building.
After a nod to Singer, Castiel hurried after Dean, unsettled by the strange events.  He’d not expected anything like this.  Of course, most local enforcement agencies disliked intruders like the FBI.  Castiel expected that.  Still, he’d also expected the Portland Police to be appreciative of what he had to offer. They were all on the same side here. All law enforcement officers.  But Dean’s distrust felt stronger than most.
      Personal.
Then there was that wall.  The dense nothing that met any of Castiel’s attempts to read the other man. That had never happened before.  Even an IQ lower than sea level registered something.  Blocks were little more than evidence that a mind existed.  Patience was all that was required to chip away at it.
This? This was as though Dean wasn’t even there.

Sugar
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jaemin x reader
Genre: tooth rotting fluff; the classic best friends to lovers trope
Word Count: 1,584
Warnings: rated c for cheesy. (also there is like one cuss word, that’s it)
✎ A/N: Was influenced by my first ever blurb over on @hourly-dreaming + Jaemin's self professed sugar eating habit. Probably lame and cliché as hell. Self indulgent, sorry not sorry. (Did try to keep it entirely gender neutral though👍🏻)
Tumblr media
You've just finished your nightly routine as you crawl into your sleeping bag, excited that your best friend Jaemin is staying over. As you both have some time off for the summer anyway, Jaemin pretends to be feeling "too lonely" to stay home alone while his parents are off on some business trip, the perfect setup that gave way to your week-long sleepover.
"Scoot over, I'm not going to bite," Jaemin states, impatiently dragging your sleeping bag closer to his. In all honesty, you both could have slept on the bed or couch just fine, but there was just something nostalgic about busting out your bags like this, something about making blanket forts and having pillow fights and staying up watching cartoons together, just like the good old days.
He laughs softly at the way you sleepily hug your teddy bear close to your chest, a sight he never grew tired of. As he leans over to speak to you, the gentle scent of brown sugar permeates his senses, and suddenly, Jaemin is reminded of the precious sugar cubes he's forgotten back at home.
"You smell sweet," he mentions offhandedly, distracted by how soft and beautiful you look in the dim glow of the night light you'd plugged in earlier.
After a beat, you nod to yourself before responding, "Must be my new sugar scrub."
"And here I thought it was just because you were a snack," Jaemin retorts, his eyes turning up into a nearly crescent shape at the way you cover your mouth, a poor attempt at stifling your laughter. He almost hated to admit it, but clichés were clichés for a reason; after all, it had to be something that happened often enough in the first place, right?
It had been earlier in the year when he'd noticed his feelings for you might not be exactly platonic, but he decided he'd rather stay quiet than risk losing you, the best friend he cherished more than anyone else in this world. But everyone slips up sometimes, and tonight, as he lays by your side, the part of his heart that wishes it could be like this every night decides it's high time it takes control.
The wave of feelings he's hit with successfully manage switch off his brain for long enough that he doesn't realize he's caressing your cheek until your eyes shoot open, eyeing him curiously. Jaemin had always been affectionate, and you were no exception to his ways, however... things felt different. There was tension in the room, a thick atmosphere created of unsaid words and pent-up emotion.
You'd swear Jaemin was staring at your lips, but there was no way that was possible, you're convinced it isn't. Your best friend you'd been hopelessly pining over actually returning the feelings? ...Yeah, right. This wasn't a Hallmark movie.
"Would you mind if I tasted your scrub?" The words are out of his mouth before he can reel them back in, hand freezing on your cheek, still not withdrawing from its position as his heart falters.
"Tasted? Uh, well... it's in the bathroom, if you wanna-" your words are cut short as he cautiously places his lips on yours, merely a brief touch before he pulls away. Stuck in a stupor, you have to blink yourself back to reality. A quick pinch to your cheek confirms that you're wide awake, hissing at the pain as you eye Jaemin with furrowed brows.
The boy in question rolls onto his back, covering his eyes with one arm as the other lays between your bodies on the floor. "Ah shit, it wasn't supposed to go like this... I messed up. To think after so long, I ruin our friendship because I couldn't keep my feelings for you in check." He scoffs, furious with himself... yet he can't find it in him to wish it had never happened, having been able to satisfy his curiosity for your lips at long last. "I totally understand if you're mad at me, or if you wanna kick me out, or-" This time, Jaemin is the one who gets cut off, the softest press of your finger to his lips as you then envelop his free hand in both of your own, your plush bear forgotten with the wind.
"Are you telling me that we're both so cliché... that we fell for our best friend and chose to suffer in silence because... we couldn't bear the thought of splitting apart?" Your breathless confession makes him go cross-eyed for a moment, his arm leaning against his forehead now, all the while processing your words carefully, until his eyes land back on your face.
"That we both?.." is all he can manage to mumble out. "Wait, you like me too?" his voice cracks towards the end, the lilt in his otherwise rumbling voice making the two of you giggle like school children.
"And here I was worried it was painfully obvious... you really are so oblivious, Jaemin."
"You didn't notice either though!" he shoots back, almost as defensive as it was reflexive.
"Touché," is all you can offer in return. He looks over at you, at the way you're nervously chewing your lip because the smile threatening to break out would simply burst your cheeks. Decidedly, he brings his arm away from your face before returning it to where it had previously rested, cupping your cheek to force himself into your line of sight once again.
The dull thrumming of blood in his ears is all he can hear, senses heightened due to the surge of adrenaline. "Can I try again, for real this time?" he seems more confident this time, but still wary of potentially scaring you off, the skittishness making it hard to read your true emotions. Much to his relief, you lean in, a quiet sign of approval as you fear your voice may betray your deceptively calm expression.
There's no hesitation from there on out, and Jaemin kisses you the way you thought was only possible in fairytales. If it wasn't midnight, you'd swear the birds would be chirping at your windowsill, ready to help you get dressed for the day ahead. His pillowy lips press against your own heavily, but the he moves them against the skin of your lips is the complete opposite, gentle warmth spreading our from your chest. Not wanting to overdo it on the first kiss (of many more, he hopes), he draws away from you, chest heaving as he takes ragged breaths; moreso due to the overwhelming emotions blossoming in his bosom, truth be told.
A silent question lingers as he looks at you expectantly, wondering how you felt in the aftermath. "Much better the second time around," you say with a smile before it turns lopsided, "though you kinda hit my eye with your nose." Much to his chagrin, Jaemin's hopes of a picturesque first kiss with you shatter before his very eyes, only to realize that if it didn't bother you much, then why should he let it get to him?
"Would you do me the honor," he lifts both of your hands in his, lifting them towards his lips to place a peck on the back of each, "and go out with me? Anywhere you want to go tomorrow, it's on me."
"Kinda backwards, isn't this? First you stay over, then you kiss me, and then you ask me out?" you tease, taking pleasure in the sight of a pouty Jaemin scrunching his nose at you. "But yes, I will do you the honor and grace you with my presence. If and only if," you pause for dramatic effect.
"If?" the boy hangs on to your every word as his heart hammers in his chest, still in disbelief that you would actually be his to cherish and shower with love, even moreso now than ever.
"If you promise not to eat my sugar, scrub."
"Did you just-" he scoffs at your unbearably lame pun, groaning as he rolls his eyes. "Is it too late to un-ask you out now?" he raises a single brow in question, laughing at the mock hurt on your features.
"Guess someone isn't getting a good night kiss," you send a jab his way before facing away from him, collecting your bear in your arms as you try to quiet the rabbiting of your heartbeat enough to get a few hours of sleep.
A hand on your waist calls your attention as Jaemin comically scoots from within his sleeping bag, not unlike a caterpillar's movements, until he's hugging you from behind now, breath fanning over your hair as he sighs.
"I lost my teddy bear... can I sleep here with you instead?"
"Is it too late to un-agree to go out with you?" you parrot his earlier jest.
His next words aim for your heart and strike with dart-like precision, "You're stuck with me for good now, sorry sugar." Now, you could pretend your heart didn't just somersault from beneath your ribcage, but you'd be lying through your teeth if you did.
The rays of early morning sun cast stripes of golden light across your sleeping forms, bundled up in your own bags yet all curled up together. As your parents awake and go to check up on you two, they decide the peaceful sight before them is simply too precious to disturb. Turning to face the other, one of your parents quietly whispers, "I told you they were a thing! You owe me twenty."

(Snowdrift's story, part 1?)(Reign of Luke)
Tumblr media
Growing up, there were a few rules Snowdrift's mother Ashes taught him.
1) Do not go near with Ilere if you can help it. She's evil and may enchant you.
2) Do not try to interact with Lightning, Ember, or Penelope. They will not respond to you and Ilere probably has something to do with that.
3) Do not trust Sandy. Something's a bit off about her.
4) Listen to your father.
5) Live in roarin' fear of everything, even though you are a male lion, and if you get strong enough, you may inherit every broken thing around here.
Okay, Ashes never said the last one in those words. But that's what it felt like. Don't do this, don't do that, don't talk to lions you may someday rule over because they might be evil? At the same time, listen to Luke even though he trusts these evil lions.
Yeah. That made sense. Not.
Luke said the pride was supposed to be united, but this wasn't what Snowdrift thought 'united' was supposed to look like. Ilere's and Sandy's cubs played in their own part of the territory. Eclipse's, Luna's, Sunrise's, and Ashes' (including himself when he was younger) in another. Lightning's, Ember's and Penelope's seemed to hang around vacantly and not play with anyone. They'd gone from two prides living in different territories to three prides living in the same place.
This wasn't what he wanted to rule over. He needed to know everyone. And he'd start with the least-scary - his peers of Lightning's, Ember's, and Penelope's lines.
---
The three young lionesses seemed to be going through the motions of playing, but they weren't really into it. The youngest, a cub of Penelope's line, vacantly batted at the slow-moving tail of the oldest, a grown lioness of Ember's line. Lightning's daughter, not much older than Snowdrift, watched.
Penelope also had a boy named Flint, but he hung out with Ilere's group more often than his sister's group.
Okay, maybe least-scary wasn't accurate about these lionesses. But at least they weren't going to enchant him or something.
"Hey girls!" he called as he approached, trying to get their attention. They ignored him. He puffed out his chest and walked in front of the middle one in age. "I'm trying to meet the rest of the pride. What are you girls doing? Would you like to go out exploring or something?"
Lightning's Legacy seemed to finally see him. "We're fine," she said. She seemed tired.
"That was neither of the questions I asked," Snowdrift said.
"You're not going to get much more than that out of them," a new voice said. Two boys approached: Flint, who had spoken and was Penelope's son who didn't share his sister's sluggishness; and Omen, Ilere's son.
"Yeah," Omen said. You couldn't tell he was Ilere's son as he looked nothing like her. He had his father's pale golden coat and no distinct markings. "Their real selves aren't here."
"Real selves?" Snowdrift asked.
"Mom's got their real selves stuck in spirit form, just like their moms," Omen said. "How you see them is just them doing the bare minimum to seem normal."
"They don't seem very normal to me," Snowdrift said, "Or anyone I've talked to."
"It's mostly for Luke's sake," Flint said. "He doesn't realize how much she's doing to keep everything together."
That was a strange way to talk about it. "But everyone seems so apart," Snowdrift said. "That's why I came here. Mom always said not to talk to anyone other than Eclipse, Luna, Sunrise, their kids, Dad, and herself. We don't talk to you, you don't talk to us. How is that a pride?"
Flint smiled sadly. "You guys are allowed to be normal. Ilere's keeping them under enchantment because they want to rebel. You guys don't."
"The cubs want to rebel." Snowdrift didn't believe that.
"The cubs follow their mothers," Omen said. "Most of the time, anyway." He flicked his tail towards Flint.
"Hey, somebody's got to get close to your sister," Flint said with a smirk.
Omen shoved him. "Yeah, and somebody's going to have to leave the pride in a couple of months. And that's at least one of us, and only if we can take down old Dusty."
Dusty was one of the two adult submales, and the other Luke had named. No no one messed with Luke's elections, but the other could be challenged.
Of course, Luke had named Snowdrift as his heir of choice a lot more recently. Once he was grown, he'd be in that spot and the currently-named heir, Markus, a lion without connection to the huntresses, would have to challenge his rival to keep his spot.
"Maybe your sister would gain her powers and help me," Flint said, shrugging.
Omen shook his head, amused. He looked at Snowdrift. "You really should go back with the rest of the normal lions."
"And if I become king?" Snowdrift asked. "What, should I not know about all of this?"
The two boys looked at each other.
"You have a long way to go, kid," said Flint.
Snowdrift wanted to wipe that smirk off of his face, but restrained himself and stalked away. He'd finish this another day.
Or so he thought. He was partway towards the 'normal lion' part of the territory when he felt something warm against his flank. A lioness leaned into him. Ilere's Legacy, the adolescent his age.
"You're Luke's chosen one, aren't you?" she asked.
"Yeah," he said. He tried not to look directly at her eyes. He heard that was a bad idea.
"I overheard that you wanted to get to know everybody. Well, here I am. Do you want me to get Sandy's Legacy, too?"
Snowdrift looked around for the other boys, but they seemed to be gone. "Sure," he said.
He waited by a pointed stone as she strode off. She returned not too long after with the Legacy of Sandy's line, who was a Piebald much like Snowdrift. She was significantly older than him, though.
The two girls looked normal enough.
"Piebald," Sandy's Legacy noted. "Do you think that'll break the curse?"
Ilere's Legacy scrunched up her nose. "I sure hope not."
"Curse?" Snowdrift asked.
"Did no one tell you?" Ilere asked. "Maybe they wanted to wait until you were older, or they were more sure you'd be king material. Or maybe they just didn't want to scare you away. But uh, it's said that in life, lionesses in the Ilere line will be servant to Primal lions of Tiger's line, which Luke is. But in death, it's reversed. And if a Primal of Ilere's line becomes king, then. . . I don't know, he'll be pretty powerful or something."
"Omen has the potential," Sandy's Legacy said.
"Very small potential," Ilere said. "Yeah, he might be able to magic himself Primal, but that's not the same as being born with it."
"But since I'm Piebald, not Primal. . ." Snowdrift said, trailing off. He wasn't sure what that meant.
"We'll just have to see," Ilere said. "I don't think it'll make a difference. You're still mutated, just not in the same way. I'm not worried."
Snowdrift didn't know what to make of this. She said it so nonchalantly, like talking about the weather. Lions serving each other in life and death? He couldn't even begin to grasp with that might mean.
"Is your mom really evil?" he blurted.
"Of course Ilere's not," Sandy's Legacy said.
"Some lions think so," Ilere's Legacy said, "but she's doing what she does for the good of the pride. She's the only thing stopping another war." She shook her head. "I can only hope, if I grow to take her place, that whatever powers I have can keep the peace like hers can."
Snowdrift looked over at the enchanted cubs. "But, cubs? Are cubs going to start a war?"
"Not if they've been taught correctly," Ilere's Legacy said. "That's what we're trying to do. Because once my mom dies, they'll all be freed."
He was getting weirder and weirder vibes from her the more she spoke. She sounded reasonable enough, but reading into what she said made it seem sinister. 'Taught correctly,' or brainwashed?
"I have to go," he said. "Thanks for taking the time to talk to me, though!"
Ilere's Legacy rumbled friendily. "Anytime. Hope to see you around."
Snowdrift tried to make his retreat as casual as possible.
Mom was right. He should avoid those guys.
