i sometimes forget that i grew up basically poor because my parents (mostly my mom tbh) were very good at hiding it from us and because we lived in a very depressed area so everyone was sort of like that anyways. like families who went on vacations every year or skied were considered rich and looking back, they were like lower middle class at best. i dunno... just something weird now that i have a stable income and my student loans almost figured out, it's like... what does one do with money when one doesn't have to worry about it all the time...

Any favorite characters from TNMN?
I got that question twice, so will answer this one👍
This game is kinda interesting with the characters, in a sense that we don’t really get to know them as people
What I mean that we just see them pass by, so we as a player just kinda left guessing who they are
Just keep in mind that my opinion here is mainly based solely on my silly headcanons
(also I think all tnmn characters are fun in their own way)
Anyway 👏long👏post👏time👏
Tumblr media
Teutates Taranis
What can I say
- long beautiful hair ✅
- goth ✅
- punk rock aesthetic ✅
- looks huggable ✅
- eternal pokerface ✅
Bro has it all
I honestly really like his design and I imagine him being chill make up artist of the neighbourhood
Tumblr media
Sverchzt Twins
Sistors 🥹
Just generally love wholesome sibling dynamics
+ the decision to make 2 similar characters with a different mole placement in the game where you need to search for differences in said characters is genius honestly 👏👏
Like the sprites are the same, so your brain does not register that difference at first
Tumblr media
Arnold Schmicht
This may be random lmao💥
I just like the guy
Fellow creative, I respect any writer
Any writing is cool and impressive man
🐻‍❄️< illiterate /silly
Also the moustache is iconic
Arnold is the character that brings me some sort of comfort tbh, I headcanon him as a chill wise man who enjoys his life and loves his wife
Tumblr media
Anastacha Mikaelys and THE Milkman™️
The classics
At first I had no idea that they are actually related, I legit thought ppl were joking
But no, papa and daughter 💥
The tired family™️
I like Anastacha, as a recent graduate I relate to the struggle of homework 24/7
Also bonus points for being angsty teenager or whatever 💅
And the milkman oh the god the milkman
I like him, but not for reasons you might think
Tbh I headcanon milkman as this silly pathetic (divorced) man, who is just trying to get by in his everyday life
The guy is tired, he sleeps 2 hours a day
The whole internet simping for milkman, was hilarious to me initially
Like
🫵🫵omg THE GUY🫵🫵 JUST LIKE SOME RANDOM GUY🫵🫵🫵 MARRY ME 👰‍♀️👰👰‍♂️👰‍♀️👰‍♀️🤵‍♀️🤵🤵‍♂️👰‍♂️👰‍♀️💍💍💍💍💒💒💒
Later on it just started being mildly discomforting? Ppl were so down bad, that it was a bit too much for me personally lmao 💥

a/n : tw reader has family issues, slight gore
-------------------------------------------------------
[ g. kaldo x fem reader ]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-------------------------------------------------------
you slam the telephone down in your office. kaldo slightly jolts from the sudden noise as he placed the daily newspaper he was reading back on the small table next to the couch. taking one quick sip of his honeyed coffee before making his remark.
" what's got you so worked up in the morning? "
" morning? it's already noon! " you scold as you turn to face him, the tears on your eyes barely noticeable.
" they should call you the angry cane, " he jokes as you slump back down on your chair.
" what are you even doing in my office? "
" just chilling, I'm free. there's really nothing for me to do here, I could go home if I wanted to but I'd feel bad for the rest working their asses off. anyways enough about me but let me guess who was on the phone! your sister right? " he had a hand on his chin before snapping his fingers together.
" yeah... "
work was your escape from the family house you grew up in. magic was everything in this world. if your magic was stronger everyone would possibly respect you right? or so you thought. growing up as the big sister and middle child of five siblings. you're bound to be compared to your older brothers. it was unfair if only your parents didn't value one gender over the other. your brothers weren't as great as you. your first brother works in the bureau of magic but you're a divine visionary, also part of the bureau of magic so why? why does your parents still expect more from you? his wife recently gave birth to his second child. your second brother, step brother, is peacefully living his life as a successful bakery owner. both your younger siblings were in high school, both in their first year, one's your biological sister and the other is your half sister or not half but step sister. you're barely 23 and yet everything feels so far apart.
" so incompetent. " you mumbled as kaldo tilts his head.
" why? " you can't help but whisper as tears starts to prick your eyes. kaldo stays silent.
" I'm a divine visionary yet what more can she expect from me? I've done everything I can to be the best... I've even slayed that one dragon beast, earning a title... I've saved countless of people. so why? " you can't help but bawl your eyes out. kaldo gets up from the couch as he approaches you, rubbing slow circles on your back.
" you're more than the best, they don't say it but if they're not proud of you then I am. nothing can change that. I think you're incredible. " he says, calming you down.
you left the house and had been living by yourself ever since high school up till now. you don't have a reason for being in a place that haunts you for not being better than your older brothers. your sister called you earlier, inviting you to the family's dinner party tonight.
" kaldo... come with me to my family's dinner tonight, " you look up at him.
" your step mother will be there? " hearing those words, you can't help but glare at him. your real mother had been dead since your sister was born. that step mother of yours, doesn't even look one bit like you! isn't it obvious she's not your real mother. kaldo did visit your family house once, all the portraits of your real mother were replaced by her face. there's barely any family photos hung on the walls either.
" yeah. " you spat as he smiles.
" am I coming as your co-worker, best friend or potential lover maybe husband even? " you blush at his words.
" c-c-co-worker! "
after work, you and kaldo made your way to the family house. not bothering to change out of your work clothes. nervousness didn't bother to eat you. you felt oddly confident, having kaldo with you. if there's bloodshed today, you're certain it'll be your victory. kaldo feels happy he's going in the house again. he talked to the others about visiting the grand family house and no one was surprised he finally managed to visit it. everyone having gone in once as well but this second visit will make him special! if only he knew the madl family was a close partner to your family's. that means orter and his brother used to come over frequently to play. he didn't know that, of course.
" welcome home. " the house butler greets you, surprised to see you bringing a plus one, a male too.
" good to see you Mr butler, " he smiles at the nickname you've given him, barely remembering the last he heard you calling him that. he takes your coat and kaldo's as he hung it on the rack, near the entrance doors. before walking you to the dinning table.
everyone was quiet for a moment, taking in your appearance and the man next to you. your father sat at the end of the table, your step mother next to him and your first brother on his other side. everyone has taken their seats and the vacant ones were the one directly facing your father, the seat next to it or the two seats next to your step mother.
kaldo pats your shoulder. you take this as a sign to sit. you took the seat directly infront of your father as kaldo sits next to you, next to him was your sister.
everyone starts to eat, the table was quiet. you were surprised how kaldo didn't say anything. the food was a distraction, how you miss the cooking of the house. truth be told, the only good parts to living here was the workers who serve the family. your father clears his throat as the attention shifted to him.
" when are you, y/n going to get married? " he questions as everyone turns to look at you. you drop your fork on the plate as a surprise to the question.
" isnt it obvious, she's dating the guy next to her? " your step brother jokes as you cast a spell controlling his shadow to slightly tug at his leg, making him hit the table. all the plates, glasses and bowls clanks to the movement.
" orter madl would've been the best one for her to marry, " your first brother chimes in. his wife next to him, nods.
" big brother i want to marry him, don't say that! " your step sister says as she slams her hand on the table.
" ew, I doubt he'll even bat an eye at you. remember when he came over to watch the divine visionary candidate test, he said you were incompetent and far from his type. don't try your luck, " you can't help but laugh at what your sister said. everyone turning back to you.
" sorry, but orter would rather stab himself than be with you. " you wipe the tears from your eyes as kaldo smiles.
" anyways, I can't see myself with orter. we're best friends and I wouldn't want to be in an arranged marriage with someone who didn't get the freedom to pick who they'll marry. especially one just to tie the family together. " you finish the sentence as you look directly at your father.
" well we didn't say you'll be in one, marrying the orter madl gives you some sort of high title. you should take it, " your step mother says.
" I'll be fine. besides kaldo here, will be my life long partner. " hearing you say that, got kaldo grinning from ear to ear.
" that man, doesn't look like kaldo gehenna. " your step brother says matter of fact. " maybe you've casted a spell to make some other guy look like him and then brought the man over. "
" that's a pity, if it's true! Hahaha, " your step sister laughs.
" be quiet, is it true? you, kaldo gehenna will marry y/n? " your father says, turning to look at the man.
his eyes open, smiling at him as he says, " yes, and insulting me won't go unnoticed. you shall receive punishment for that. I could get you expelled from easton academy and I can burn down your precious bakery. "
" don't do that, say something! y/n! " your step mother shouts as she slams her hands on the table, dropping down a glass next to the floor.
" shut up, this is beyond my control and why should I control the actions of my beloved? " you question as this bubbles up her anger. she summon her wand, casting a spell to pick up a broken glass to throw it as you. it cut your cheek, you felt the blood run down. you stand up from your seat.
out of anger, you threw the glass next to you at your father. aiming for the wall behind him, he was unfazed. everyone looked at you. have you gone crazy? that's the man who created you with your late mother. the man who spends money on you, lets you live in his house.
" y/n, sit. " your father ordered as you stand, not moving an inch.
" no, thanks for dinner. I'm sorry dear sister. I can't stay for long and if I could, I would have done so long ago. you know I'm strong. I've defeated countless of monsters, that doesn't change the fact I can take the life of humans too. " your step family, shudders at the thought. a cold blooded bloodbath with them? maybe together with your father and big brother too. you turn your back against them. kaldo stands and places a hand over your back.
" she'll be in good hands, family in law. "
" who said anything about letting you into this family? your father work hard raising you and all you do is act like a brat. you're all bark and no bites! if only you were like your big brother. " your step mother shouts as she stands from her seat.
" bark and no bites? " a shadow came over her neck, holding her up slightly away from the ground.
"h-h-help me dear, " she calls for your father as she tries to grab his shoulder.
" drop it, y/n. " your father says.
" yeah, stop it, " your big brother speaks.
the shadow disappeared, dropping her to the ground. she wraps one hand over the place where the shadow was at, little did she realise there was a burnt imprinted left.
" are you sure, you still want to marry that mad witch? she nearly took her mother's life! " your step brother says, as both the step siblings rushed to their mother's side.
" she's not my mother. " you mumbled out loud.
" I don't care, what she does. even if her hands are bloodied. even if she'll kill me. she's mine and I'll still love her. " kaldo takes your hand to plant a kiss, turning over to look at them all.
" let's go, " you say to kaldo as you both took your leave.
walking around the now empty streets, it was already late into the night. you didn't feel one bit of guilt, the glass cut healed immediately after you left. you held kaldos hand eversince you left the house. he didn't want to let go and wished you didn't pull away. now, standing on a bridge. the soft water noises, wind blowing, prettily lit starry sky. you can't help but be drawn to those.
" sorry, " you apologise as kaldo stands closer to you, shoulder to shoulder touching.
" that was a hell of a dinner huh? " you start, sighing. if your real mother was still around. she'll definitely embrace you like she always did.
" don't be sorry, I'd kill too if I had to keep up with all of that till I'm finally free from those horrors. she hates you because you look so much like your mother, " he places his other hand to your cheek. stroking it slow and tenderly.
" no I mean, sorry for making it seem like we'll marry. unless you really want to, " you placed both hands over your mouth.
" HUH!? so you don't intend to be my lifelong partner? were you going to marry orter and prove them right? " he babbles as you laugh, putting your hands by your side.
" I really love you, kaldo gehenna. " you confessed, his eyes shot open and his eyes met yours, so full of love and adoration.
you lean close, nose brushing against his as you shut your eyes and give him a kiss to his lips. you feel his arms snake around your waist, pulling you closer.
pulling apart, to catch your breath. you don't fail to notice his silghtly red face and the soft smile that doesn't seem to go away.
" I promise to be your sword and shield. I vow to be yours. I love you so much, " he takes your hand to his lips, placing a kiss as he drags you along.
" say, if we're together. can we skip the dating parts and just get married? " he says as you can see your house draw closer.
" yeah let's just get married, we've already known each other quite long too. "
" great, the wedding will be next week then! " he cheers as you unlock the doors of your house. you gave him a soft smile as you gave him one last kiss to the cheek before bidding him goodbye and a get home safely.
kaldo couldn't sleep that night, he was over the moon. the girl of his dreams finally said yes to him and had felt the same way as he. he couldn't help but call ryoh that night, gossiping the night away. ryoh too, was so happy for the man but gods he wished he'd shut up. he was tired from work and was looking forward to cuddling the night away with his wife.
" please free me. I have a wife to attend to, " ryoh mumbles out loud, catching the flame cane off guard.
" my, its so late well see you tomorrow and thank you for lending me a listening ear, goodnight ryoh. " he hangs up momentarily, forcing himself to sleep.
the next day as he walked to your office, he heard yours and orter's voices. he decides to wait by the door as he eavesdrop on the conversation.
" after the dinner, your sister called me. she said it was a disaster and they were expecting you'd marry me but you chose kaldo? " orter was leaning on the door, arms crossed after the other as you sat by your desk.
" you wouldn't want to marry me either. besides I just can't imagine you as the father of my children. I want a guy who knows how to wow his kids! " you laugh at the idea of kaldo being the fun parent.
" i see, you're all grown up now. well if there's anything I can help you with, let me know. I might even babysit them once or twice. " he offers, pushing his glasses up his face, not failing to notice the smile on your face.
" what a great best friend you are! do you want a hug? " you beamed as orter pushes himself off the wall. remembering the last time you gave him a hug, it was bone crushing. you managed to manipulate and manifest his shadow into 3d! making that give him a hug.
" no, " he opens the door as kaldo pretends he's just got there.
" get back to work, don't just flirt with her all day. " orter scolds as kaldo sighs, handling him the coffee he prepared for you. he'll just come back with a better and sweeter batch for you he thinks as he walks away dreadfully. he hears you laugh as he walks away, making a smile crawl up his face.

Sims In Bloom: Generation 2 Pt. 79 (Winter is Here and Ash Has Another Sibling!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Brindleton Bay's first snowfall of the year was picturesque, but the light dusting of white on the ground was merely a tease. The snow didn't stop once winter had begun and it wasn't long before the coastal town was coated in thick white powder.
Ash loved hanging out in the snow, and he and Conrad loved to make snowmen while Heather took care of his baby sister.
Tumblr media
They wanted to get to the city to visit Heather's sister, Holly, who had recently welcomed her second daughter with her husband, Kris. In keeping with their commitment to fish names, Tetra's little sister was named Betta.
(Tetra Daisy and Betta Cecilia Bell, for those interested!)
But newborns in both households made it difficult to travel, so they settled for sharing updates by phone and made plans to spend time together in the city for the upcoming Winterfest holidays.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Genius Ash wasn't all that interested in the crying, stinky baby who now lived in his house, and with one sister at home in Brindleton Bay, Ash met his other new sister, Bridgette, on his first weekend at his dad's after she was born.
"What do you think of your new sister, there, Ash?" Geoffrey warmly embraced his grandson, while Malcolm was prouder than he thought he'd be to introduce his son to his new daughter.
Tumblr media
"Lavender and Bridgette don't do much," Ash complained. "But they're pretty cute, I guess."
"What sort of name is Lavender, anyway?" Nancy scoffed and Geoffrey shushed her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Where's Bridgette gonna sleep when she's out of her bassinet? I sleep on the pullout bed when I'm here, but there isn't room for two pullout beds in the living room!"
"Your Gramma and I used to talk about adding a third bedroom, but we never really needed the extra space before now."
Nancy forced a grin in front of her grandson. "And we decided adding another room to the top floor would disrupt our morning view, Geoffrey."
Tumblr media
"We've got enough views," he said. "I'd rather see our grandkids well-rested and happy."
"You are always complaining that you can't turn your music on when Ash is asleep in the living room," said Miko sweetly. "Ash, would you mind sharing a room with your sister when you visit?"
"If she cries a lot, I might, but I'm almost used to Lavender. I bet I can get used to Bridgette's crying, too!"
Tumblr media
While the Landgraabs set to work finally building Ash a bedroom at the penthouse, he bonded with his second little sister. ->
<- Previous Chapter | Gen 2 Start | Gen 1 Summary | Gen 1 Start
NOTE: The boujis medieval cc crib I downloaded for my UDC and haven't deleted appeared randomly but is honestly perfect for a Landgraab princess. And technically the lack of a bedroom for Ash is my fault. He was small and wasn't there that often so I could stick a toddler bed wherever, and it took me a while to figure out where to build the third bedroom in the Spire Tower suite without gutting the layout, which is my nightmare. But they needed that third bedroom and I figured it out. I'll debut it once Bridgette is an infant, because when I took photos of it that's how big she was.
ALSO at Heather and Conrad's he technically has his own room but he's sleeping in the guest room. I'm waiting for Lavender to grow up a little before renovating some spaces! I think they'll lose their guest room but I haven't decided yet. So we can give Nancy hell for this, sure, but it's redirecting wrath that should actually be on me. 😂

Here an assortment of Facts About Morpheus in the Red Flags AU. Where I'm starting to lean more towards the version where they meet and are already into each other before the ""Fake Date"" Incident:
-Jessamy is the raven he took care of when he found her injured outside of his townhome. He now has a room with a window he often keeps open for her to fly into whenever she feels like it. I don't know how legal any of this is in London but tbh it doesn't matter because he also does not know what the laws are and doesn't care.
- His townhome is very dark maximalist in decor, which tends to surprise people at first. There are houseplants and little statues all over, and the walls are hidden behind millions of bookshelves. There is an art studio room and books scattered everywhere. Very recently, hypothetical visitors would notice a lot of child locks and child proofed areas that have a bit of a panicked "I bought every safety thing in the store bc I have no idea wtf I'm doing" energy to them.
- He has a therapist. Yes, the Morpheus that Hob meets is the upgraded version who is actually working on himself already. This is what the improved personal growth version of Morpheus is like.
Anyway, said therapist is Gilbert F. Greene. Because Morpheus going head to head with an unstoppable force of old timey adorable optimism who will also not take his shit is delightful. Dr. Greene insists on going by first names and Morpheus always makes "Gilbert" sound like a slur in retaliation. Some conversations I imagine include:
"Good morning Gilbert, you will never guess who had what you might call a """relapse into self destructive behaviors"""" last night."
"I am very sorry to hear that my dear boy. Let me say though, that I am so very proud of you for calling me! That is a phenomenal step for you and it's wonderful that you are being proactive in your recovery."
"Don't patronize me Gilbert. I will hang up."
(this ended up being super long so I'm just gonna spare y'all's dash. Warning for some lightly touched on mentions of drug use and self destructive behavior.)
- Him getting a therapist was part of the requirements for gaining visitation rights and then weekend custody once a month with Orpheus. The therapy is actually helping, and he's bitter about that.
- His given name is actually Dream, he goes by his middle name. All the Endless siblings have awful names. Desire goes by Adonai because who calls a fucking child Desire???
When Hob meets the rest of the family, Destiny goes "it's good to see you again, Dream" and Hob begins turning to Morpheus like "lmao who tf is named Dream" only to find Morpheus glaring daggers at his brother.
- The Endless parents are rarely around. Some of the siblings still live in the manor and they all use it for family dinners, but it's common for their parents to be off travelling for years at a time.
- Morpheus is an author and a painter who has a bajillion pen names to go with each genre he writes in, so it's hard to figure out exactly how much he's written. Even before becoming a father though, his face and full name is mostly associated with children's fantasy stories that he illustrates himself, and his Art vs Artist vibe is very Miyazaki.
Him and Calliope collaborated on a series of illustrated poetic translations of ancient epics. Their divorce was exactly as messy as one might imagine the divorce between two passionate artist types might be.
- His downward spiral of self destruction started before the divorce but oh boy did it nosedive during and after.
- When she got pregnant after divorce proceedings had started, there was a moment where they were both meeting with lawyers and one asked something along the lines of if this meant they would try for reconciliation and staying together. Calliope said "no" immediately.
It's not like Morpheus exactly thought they would get back together, but the speed and firmness of that hard "no" had his head screaming with white noise and some badly thought out self medication for months, which ended up being why Calliope got full custody and he is just now able to get more involved with the now two year old Orpheus.
- His rebound with Thessaly was also messy. She was just in it for a fun fling and he was... Morpheus. He found out he got dumped when she informed him she was already in the process of moving back to Greece, and Johanna said he needed to be banned from any more beautiful Greek expats from that day forth.
- No one can figure out what the deal is with him and Lucienne. The simple explanation is they're queerplatonic soul mates. Lucienne's wife Gault thinks they're a bit codependent (not an inaccurate assessment), but is more civil with him since the day she yelled at him to go get an actual therapist instead of constantly putting his shit on Lucienne, and he actually did. (It is unclear if this or Calliope demanding therapy for him to get visitation with Orpheus was his wake up call catalyst, but probably a bit of both.)
- Lucienne was originally a personal assistant. She now works as his editor since she seems to be the only person who can keep track of all the shit he's written. She is also the only person who can get away with critiquing his works in progress without sending him into a fit where he might burn all his manuscripts.
- When Morpheus started mentioning this Gadling guy a lot, Lucienne paid a visit to the pub. Not to do anything so crude as to threaten a man's life if he breaks her sensitive friend's heart. What could she do anyway? No no. She's just here to smile with zero trace of humor and ask some questions while looking him up and down through her spectacles. Hob will later describe this as one of the most pants shitting moments of his life, and he felt like he got transformed back into a primary school kid who talked slightly too loudly in the library.
- Morpheus went through a slutty phase during and shortly after University that was less of a healthy and fun exploration of his sexuality and libido, and a bit more "I will take anyone who will have me in any way they will want me and I know that if nothing else, I'm pretty."
- Him and Johanna used to have a game seeing who could get more free drinks in one night. This had to be put to an end when it turned into the catalyst for at least three screaming fights between them.
Fight subjects were
Quality vs Quantity. Morpheus insists his ability to get people to buy him a single glass of wine that costs £50 beats Johanna's cheap beers. Johanna disagreed. loudly.
Is it cheating when Morpheus ran to the bathroom to smudge on some eyeliner and then stole Johanna's lip gloss? Is it further cheating when Johanna realized that his main method of getting drinks was "act like Adonai"? Accusations that he would ever act like his horrid annoying younger sibling sent Morpheus into an absolute tantrum.
Competitiveness DID overcome sibling rivalry enough for Morpheus to go to Adonai for makeover assistance. This backfired because it made Morpheus hot to the point of intimidating, and Johanna won that night.
- After Hob starts flirting with him, Morpheus goes suspiciously into a Romantic, Pre-Raphaelite inspired art era featuring lots of noble knights with dark sunlit hair. A lot of them seem to be lured in by dark haired fae entities all La Belle Sans Merci style. It's disgustingly obvious.
-Therapy has made him juuuuust self aware enough to know that he MAYBE tends to go a bit hard and fast with romance. This makes him a little more cautious with Hob than he usually would be, and he's doing a bit of "Hob is so nice and sweet and interested but I'm gonna mess it up :(((" pining. Everyone around him is fucking sick of it. He is not self aware enough to realize he's still going super hard and fast, but this time he's doing it while sighing sadly and drawing Hob in his sketchbook all the fucking time.

Tumblr media
Maybe you should have listened to your father after all.
He’d told you countless times that traveling west, especially without a family or close group to help you out and keep your best interests at heart, would be difficult at best and dangerous at worst. Especially for a young unmarried woman such as yourself.
But you had always been headstrong and stubborn, and your father had always been a worrier, so you assumed he was exaggerating to discourage you, his eldest daughter, from following your dream and going out west. You secretly saved up money for months, and at the first given opportunity to leave your family and head west, you’d taken it, leaving only a goodbye note for your parents and younger siblings when you slipped from the house in the early hours of the morning.
Turns out, your father wasn’t exaggerating. Joining a party as a solo traveler had proven even more difficult and dangerous than you could have anticipated. You managed to make it out west, just like you wanted, but you had no money to your name, only the clothes on your back and two other outfits in a bag as you walked through the town, wandering from business to business, asking for work; you’d nearly wept with relief when the saloon owner said you looked like you could have some potential as a saloon girl, after you cleaned up.
He’d provided you a boarding room above the saloon and a new outfit – the ones you had weren’t up to his standards – up front, and while you appreciated it, you also knew he’d be taking that out of your pay until he decided those things were covered, which you could only guess would be never.
Despite the strings that came attached to your new job, things weren’t all bad. You got to know people in the town pretty quickly – the ones that frequented the saloon, anyways – and you were always in the loop about local “news”, most of which was just gossip.
One character of particular interest in the local gossip was a man named Geto Suguru. When you’d asked what was so interesting about him, you’d gotten some questioning looks, until you’d said you had only just recently moved out west. After you were shown his wanted poster, though, you began to understand.
He was one of the most – if not the most – attractive man you’d ever seen. Dark hair that fell past his shoulders; thin, almost cat-like eyes; and even in the poster, there was a sly look on his face.
Not only that, but he was wanted for robbing stagecoaches, stealing money and jewelry from rich people who gave into his – apparently – intimidating presence. He was also known for spending that money generously in towns all over the west supporting local businesses; plenty of women from across the state also bragged about the jewelry he would gift them, simply because he thought it looked good on them.
After spending weeks hearing stories – that you were certain had to be at least a little exaggerated – about this pretty outlaw and staring at his wanted poster, you resigned yourself to the fact that you would never see him with your own eyes.
So you couldn’t have been more surprised when you watched the man himself walk into your saloon without any sort of fanfare or dramatics and sit at the bar.
You stared at him, eyes wide, until he gave you a small smile.
“I’ve heard you’ll catch flies if you leave your mouth open too long,” he said, smooth voice lilting with amusement.
Realizing he meant you, you quickly snapped your mouth shut, your whole face burning with embarrassment. “You try meeting a living legend when you’ve only lived in the area for a couple months, see how you react,” you snapped back. When you realized what you’d said, you opened your mouth to apologize, but stopped when you saw the way his eyes sparkled with interest, one perfect brow arched in your direction.
“Feisty, aren’t we?” he chuckled. “I think I like you already, new girl.”
“What do you want to drink?” You turned away from him to grab a glass, hoping he didn’t pick up on how flustered you were over the nickname.
“Surprise me.”
You straightened at that, and now it was your turn to arch a brow as you looked him over. His expression never wavered, his head tilted slightly as he waited to see what you decided to serve him.
With a quiet huff, you turned your back to him, looking over your selection of liquors. Part of you wanted to serve him the cheapest, nastiest drink you carried, just to see if he would actually drink it or demand another drink, but ultimately you decided against it. Instead, you reached for the top shelf, grabbing the unopened bottle of some fancy imported scotch your boss had just gotten in a couple days before.
“Opening a bottle just for me?” Geto asked, still with that playful tone. “Well now I feel special.”
“Don’t make me change my mind,” you threatened, turning as if to put the bottle back in its place.
He held up his hands, as if in surrender, and you set the bottle down on the bar to grab a glass, though you took a brief moment to admire how strong even just his hands looked.
Setting the glass in front of him, you broke the seal on the bottle, then intentionally poured him about three times as much of the amber liquid as you were supposed to. Your boss could yell at you about it later.
Geto lifted the glass, tipping it towards you slightly in thanks, before taking a sip.
Just as you were about to speak to the outlaw in front of you again, the saloon doors swung open in your peripheral vision, and you looked up to see the sheriff walking towards the bar.
“Afternoon, sheriff,” you greeted him, glancing briefly at Geto to see what his reaction was, and you were only a little surprised that he had no reaction at all. “Your usual?”
The sheriff tipped his hat to you, sitting down at the opposite end of the bar from the bandit. “Please and thank you.”
With a nod, you placed the bottle of scotch on the counter behind the bar, then grabbed another glass and the brand of whiskey the sheriff always drank. You walked down the length of the bar, setting the glass in front of him and pouring his drink – the expected amount of liquor for him, unlike the bandit down the bar – before you walked away to put the bottle back.
You felt hyper-aware of the two customers at the bar, worried that any second now the sheriff would recognize the outlaw and all hell would break loose, especially when the other patrons at the tables in the building were always itching for some sort of fight, just because they thought it was entertaining.
In the end, though, it wasn’t the sheriff that recognized Geto, it was another customer that walked up to the bar to get another drink.
“You look familiar,” the man drawled, narrowing his eyes as he analyzed Geto’s face as best as his intoxicated mind could manage.
“I get that a lot,” the outlaw answered evenly, not sparing the man a second glance.
“No, I’ve definitely seen you somewhere before…” he trailed off, scowling, his gaze wandering until it landed on the handful of wanted posters hung on the wall beside the bar. His eyes lit up with recognition, and you swore you felt your heart drop to your stomach.
“You’re that stagecoach robber!” the man exclaimed, turning back to Geto; out of the corner of your eye you saw the sheriff turn to face the commotion.
Shit, this is bad, you thought, placing the man’s beer on the bar in front of him, though he was far beyond caring about the drink anymore.
“I’m pretty sure you have no proof of that.”
“That’s your face on the poster,” the man insisted, then turned his attention to you. “Don’t you think?”
“It looks like it could be a lot of people,” you replied lamely, grimacing at how obvious of a lie it was.
The man scowled at you. “Shoulda known better than t’ask a whore,” he spat, slurring his words a bit. “Whores always lie.”
Almost before he finished speaking, Geto grabbed the man’s collar and slammed his face down onto the bar. “Apologize to her,” he said, voice calm but eyes sharp with anger.
You blinked in surprise at what had just happened, and once you processed what had been said to you, you found that you were quite offended, and also quite pleased that this outlaw had taken up for you so quickly.
“Like hell!” the man protested, struggling against Geto’s hold. Even with his head forcibly pressed to the bar top, though, the man managed to pull his gun from his holster.
The scene before you seemed to slow impossibly for a moment: the sound of the gun cocking, seeing it aimed at Geto, the man’s finger going for the trigger. Then suddenly everything was back to normal speed, and the outlaw used his free hand to shove the gun to no longer be aimed at him just as the trigger was pulled.
You turned your head to see where it landed, and you watched in horror as a wound burst into existence in the sheriff’s shoulder, blood soaking into his shirt in an instant. He let out a shout of pain, clutching at the wound with his hand.
“You rat bastard!” the man shouted, working to cock his gun and aim it at Geto again, but the outlaw was quicker, pulling out his own gun, pressing it to the man’s ribs, and shooting him almost before you could process what he was doing.
There was a wet gasping sound from the man, and when Geto’s hold on his collar was finally released, he dropped unceremoniously to the floor, his gun sliding out of his hand. You couldn’t tell if he was dead yet or not, but he certainly wasn’t making any effort to get off the floor.
Out of the corner of your eye, you could see the sheriff draw his own gun and aim it, but it was in his non-dominant hand, so the bullet did not hit the robber as the sheriff intended; instead, it shattered the whiskey glass on the bar in front of you, and you dropped to the ground in fear.
With your hands over your head, you kept as low as you could. You couldn’t see what was happening anymore, but from what you could hear, at least half of the other patrons of the saloon had joined in the gunfight. Stray bullets hit the wall behind the bar, shattering multiple bottles of liquor, including the fancy bottle of scotch. My boss is going to be so pissed, you thought, an oddly practical thought to have in the midst of hiding and praying you weren’t accidentally shot.
Almost as if summoned by your thoughts, a bullet tore through the front of the bar, sticking in the cabinet about six inches from your head. With a shriek, you scrambled aside, towards the end of the bar; maybe if you were lucky, there would be time for you to slip out of the building without being caught in the crossfire.
You scanned the building as quickly as you could while keeping yourself hidden, not wanting to make yourself any more of a target than you already were. Bullets were still flying, leaving no chance for your escape, and you cursed under your breath; you were going to be stuck here until everyone ran out of ammo.
As you looked around, you noticed the first man that Geto had shot, a pool of blood slowly growing beneath his torso. His chest still rose and fell slightly, but his eyes were glassy; he was alive, but he was not long for this world. Suddenly, you remembered that he had dropped his gun when he had fallen, and you scanned the area around him for it, finding it a foot or so from his outstretched hand.
Deciding to run the risk of getting shot, you lunged for it, gripping it tightly in your hand once it was in your grasp. You’d never held a gun in your life, much less shot one, but having this one in your possession made you feel a little less cornered, a little less helpless.
Daring a glance upward, you saw that Geto had turned so that his back was to you and another corner of the saloon. Another patron had somehow managed to sneak around into the outlaw’s blind spot, and was clearly gearing up to shoot him in the back of the head. Knowing you couldn’t just sit there and watch it happen, you fumbled with the gun, your sweaty hands failing to pull back the hammer twice before you succeeded. With no clue how to accurately aim the weapon, you pointed it at his leg, squeezing your eyes shut as you pulled the trigger.
A shout of pain a moment later indicated that you had hit… someone, and you quickly opened your eyes again to make sure you hadn’t somehow hit Geto by accident. Thankfully, you hadn’t. The man you’d been aiming at had taken the shot to his knee – which actually had been what you were hoping to hit when you fired – bringing him down to the floor on one knee.
The shout was enough to alert the outlaw to the threat behind him, and he wasted no time spinning around and drilling him between the eyes. He slipped his guns – you saw now that he had two, rather than one like you had first thought – back into their holsters as the last man’s body dropped to the floor.
Once there was no longer another person blocking you from his view, Geto blinked in surprise, smiling as he stepped over the body and crouched down in front of you.
“You shot him?” he asked, his eyes glinting. The sight made you realize you’d been wrong before, when you’d thought his eyes were catlike in his wanted poster; in person they were foxlike, sharp and intelligent and clever.
“I-I, uh… yeah, I shot him.”
“Have you ever fired a gun before?”
“Not until just now.”
He glanced over his shoulder, taking in the bulletwound squarely in the side of the man’s knee. “You’re a good shot,” he observed, turning back to face you.
“Uh… thanks?”
He chuckled then, a low, smooth sound that made your stomach cartwheel. “You’re welcome.” A beat passed, then another, as he examined your face, though you were unsure what he was looking for.
“What?” you demanded, scowling at him despite the way your hands were still shaking.
“You should come with me.”
“Huh?”
“You should come with me,” Geto repeated easily. “I think you’d be a good addition to my crew. Besides, it really won’t be a good look for you if people come in and see you here with a gun after I get the hell out of here.” There was a slight smirk tugging at his lips, and despite the fact that you probably should have taken his words as a threat, you didn’t.
“What the hell,” you sighed. “It’s not like I have anyone keeping me here.”
“Wonderful,” he said, offering you a hand up off the floor, which you readily accepted. “Get what you need from your room and meet me outside. Be quick, my guess is that someone will come to investigate all the noise sooner rather than later.
You nodded, brushing broken glass from your dress and your hair as you hurried towards the stairs, unable to hide the grin tugging at your own lips.
Maybe not listening to your father had been the right decision after all.

"Hung Up"
When Solidarity confessed his feelings to Tango, expressing his love and desire and asking the other on a date, Tango immediately said yes. He was so happy and excited, especially since he had been crushing on the other for what felt like years. They went on a couple of dates, smiling, laughing, getting to know one another, having fun.
"So, does this make us boyfriends?" Tango teased.
Solidarity blushed and smiled, going to say something before he paused. He seemed to remember something, then sighed, "Listen, I'm going to be completely upfront with you because I do want to be your boyfriend and stuff, but I have this... ex..."
"Is it a crazy stalker ex?"
"Not really. Just..." The dirty blonde tried to think of a way to word it, "He and I share a big friend group and he has convinced them that I'm apparently still hung up on him and that he was so kind to continue being my friend even though we broke up. Oh, and the reason I haven't dated anyone is cause I'm totally waiting for him to come back!" He groaned, visibly annoyed as sarcasm laced his voice, "Hell, he's convinced my siblings of this when he's the one calling me drunk in the middle of the night!"
"Why haven't you blocked him, if you don't mind me asking?" Tango questioned.
The dirty blonde sighed, "It's cause of the friend group we share. I've always been really awkward, so I just became friends with my siblings friends and then when I began dating Scott, my ex, I became friends with his friends. I don't really have a lot of my own friends and, if I block him, everyone would make it this big deal, like I broke the law or something and I just..." He sighed again, "I'm sorry, I don't mean to vent..."
"No, no, it's fine." The blonde reassured with a smile, gently putting a hand on his shoulder, "I understand. It's probably really annoying and frustrating and I'm guessing you don't have a lot of people to talk to about this."
Solidarity weakly nodded, "...I just don't want to rock the boat. Makes my anxiety shoot through the roof. If I just go with it, no matter how uncomfortable I am, it'll be fine."
Tango hugged him, "But that's not healthy, Soli..."
"I-I know, I know... I just don't know what to do..."
"We'll work on it, okay? First step to fixing a problem is acknowledging there is a problem, so you're on the right track already!"
Solidarity laughed before he hummed, "Anyways, all this to say that if we do start dating and you get these comments about how I'm supposedly not over Scott or how you're 'just a rebound', that's untrue and ignore it. Scott and I broke up in high school."
"Wait, wait, with how you talked about this, this sounds like a recent break up! You guys broke up in high school?"
"Yep. And trust me, I know." He sighed, "It's why I moved here, mainly to put some distance between myself and the friend group and my siblings. I don't want them to choose between Scott and I, but I just don't want to hear how hung up I apparently am or how I need to get back in the dating field or if I ignore Scott or don't do something for him, I'm holding a grudge!" He huffed.
Tango hugged him more, "Well, don't worry, I'm not one to take shit lying down! If they want to poke fun, I poke back but harder!" He giggled, "In the meantime, why don't I introduce you to my friends? It'll be good to meet new people, plus it will help to keep your mind of things!"
Solidarity smiled, "I'd like that."
The two became an official couple, Tango showing Solidarity off to all his friends. Solidarity asked Tango if he was okay with him waiting before he told his friends and siblings, Tango not minding. In the meantime, the dirty blonde fit right in with Skizz, Impulse, Zed, Bdubs, and Etho. With his clumsy, adorable but sweet attitude, it meshed well with the chaotic mess that could be Skizz and Zed in the same room. Solidarity also got along with Etho and Impulse, the three usually acting as the peacemakers when Tango and Bdubs joined in on whatever chaos Zed and Skizz tried to bring. It was overall a great thing and Tango could see his beautiful boyfriend seemed to glow even more. It was like a dark cloud he noticed that was always over Solidarity's head seemed to finally disappear, especially since he's been on his phone or computer less, talking to that friend group less.
One night, the group were all at Impulse's house, sharing a few drinks and laughs, when Solidarity's phone buzzed. He hummed, a bit tipsy as he answered the phone without checking the caller ID.
"Hello-" He paused and his face fell immediately. He looked at Tango, who looked at him, concerned. Solidarity then seemed to get an idea, eyes widening as he smirked, "Okay, wait one second, hold on!" He put the phone on speaker, leaning into Tango, "Can you hear me?"
"Yeaaaah?" A Scottish voice responded in a questioning tone.
"Okay, good." He then looked at the blonde, playing with his hair, "Tango, Light, could you introduce yourself to Scott for me?"
Tango's eyes widened before he smirked, taking the phone, "Hello Mr. Scott, my name is Tango Tek, aka light of Solidarity's life, aka his honey, aka his handsome man, aka his soulmate, aka his rancher, aka his boyfriend, and we are actually currently in the middle of making out so we would appreciate no more interruptions! I know it's been awhile for you, but I need Soli's soft lips on mine, it is quite addicting! To bad you can't experience it! Buh-byyyyyyyye~!" He hung up, everyone laughing as the blonde gave Solidarity his phone back and kissed his cheek.
"Who was that?" Zed asked.
Tango wrapped an arm around his boyfriend, "Crazy ex."
"Crazy stalker ex?" Etho prodded.
"Not stalker level yet." Solidarity reassured, "But definitely crazy ex. From high school."
"Yep, that'll do it." Bdubs joked, "Anyone need another drink? I'm heading to the kitchen."
The night continued and everyone slept over, seeing as they were not going to drink and drive. Tango and Solidarity shared the couch, the dirty blonde acting as Tango's blanket as they cuddled and slept together. So, it made it very obvious when Solidarity got off the couch, causing the blonde to stir as his weighted blanket was no longer there. He sat up, glancing around before hearing something outside. Tango walked outside and saw Solidarity, very clearly frustrated, tears in his eyes with the tension in his body.
"...Did you ever think that maybe, just maybe, i didn't tell you guys for this exact reason?!" Solidarity yelled, "...Yeah, you're my brother, and yet you constantly choose Scott over me! Don't-! ...No, you can't even say that, don't you dare say that! I've told you repeatedly that Scott makes me uncomfortable, that I don't like him being around, and you, with everyone else, brushed me off because I 'have to get over him!'" The dirty blonde said in a mocking voice with air quotes.
He was silent, before hissing out, "He called me! The only reason you all now know I'm dating is cause Scott can't get over the fact I moved two hours away from everyone and refuse to give him my address or pick him up when he goes out drinking! I was going to tell you all on my time, but of course, Scott ruined it because he fucking ruins everything! So, yes, I am dating someone! Okay?! Happy?! Bye!" He hung up.
Tango moved and hugged him, Solidarity leaning into him. The blonde rubbed the other's back, feeling Solidarity shake in frustration as his tears stained Tango's shirt. Tango cooed and rubbed circles into his back, kissing his forehead.
"I'm so sick of him..." The dirty blonde murmured.
Tango nodded, "Do you want me to block him for you?"
"No, it-"
"I can be the bad guy. If he complains, tell him and his flying monkeys that I feel uncomfortable with your ex trying to talk with you."
Solidarity hummed, "Later... Just hold me now..."
Tango hugged him tighter, "Gladly."
After everyone had woken up and began eating breakfast, Tango took Solidarity's phone, sending Scott a text and prefaced it by saying it was him and how he didn't feel comfortable with Scott talking to Solidarity when they were together and to please not text or call him anymore before blocking him. When the two got home, Solidarity had gotten a bunch of texts from his brother and sister as well as mutual friends he had with Scott, all saying how they didn't know he was dating someone new, asking why he didn't tell them, and then asking why Tango blocked Scott.
"The more they talk, the more I just want to go no contact." Solidarity admitted, "It's always about Scott. If I don't help him, I'm an asshole holding a grudge over the breakup. If I do help, I'm still hung up. Blocking him for 'no reason' is not okay and I need to let go. I'm just so over this."
Tango took his phone and shut it off, "Okay, let's just forget about electronics for the day. How about we do something to get your mind off things?"
"Like what?"
Tango kissed his cheek, smiling, "We could go to the bedroom~?"
"Oh my god!" Solidarity laughed, "Trying to get in my pants when this is serious talk?"
"Serious does not mean important! Besides, it'll make sure your mind is only on me soooooo~?"
"You're ridiculous." The dirty blonde kissed his nose, smiling, "Let's go."
When Solidarity turned his phone on the next day, he sent a simple text to everyone.
Solidarity:  Yes, I'm in a new relationship, I have been for two months. I didn't say anything because I wanted to wait and get more serious. I also don't want to jeopardize this relationship. Out of respect for Tango, and myself, I'm going to ask you to stop trying to get me to talk with Scott.
Of course, people tried to ask more questions, but he made another text, simply saying "I don't feel comfortable sharing anymore details. Please just respect my boundaries." Of course, some complained, but he just closed his phone, ignoring it.
"I think they're starting to see you've developed quite a backbone!" Tango encouraged.
"Thanks to you, really." The dirty blonde smiled, "I really like you and our relationship means more to me than that friend group. Time to actually prove it, I guess."
"I'm proud of you." Tango kissed his lips, "I know it's hard putting down boundaries and sticking up for yourself, but once you get used to it, it becomes easier."
Solidarity nodded, smiling.
***
Solidarity didn't introduce Tango to his brother and sister and the friend group for about a year. Tango respected his decision and understood why, judging from their reactions when the dirty blonde first blocked Scott, he wasn't sure they would even accept that Solidarity actually moved on. However, it was Christmas and Solidarity explained he had been skipping the past couple holidays because he knew Scott would be there and didn't want to deal with the inevitable.
"It's been a year and we've been together ever since. Why don't we give them a chance?"
Solidarity was hesitant, "...I don't know."
"Come on, please?" Tango hugged him, "I can handle myself just fine, love! And I can shut them down! You know I can!"
The dirty blonde hesitated again before he sighed, "The moment I feel uncomfortable and ask you to pack your stuff, we leave."
"Of course!"
So, they made their way to Solidarity's brother's house, two hours away. Solidarity tapped anxiously on the steering wheel, biting his bottom lip.
"It's okay, we'll be fine." Tango reassured, able to see the other white-knuckling the steering wheel.
"I-I just-!" He took a deep breath, "I know Scott is probably going to be there and he's going to mention our high school days a lot."
Tango shrugged, "Okay?"
"We used to call ourselves 'Flower Husbands' because we were teenagers exploring our sexuality or how he was my first relationship or how he was my first kiss or how he was my first whatever else." The dirty blonde rolled his eyes, sighing, "He's just going to try to embarrass me or make you jealous or something else."
"Was he your first? In, like, the bedroom department?"
Solidarity blushed darkly, "T-TANGO!"
"Yes or no?"
"I-I already told you, you were my first- oh..." The dirty blonde chuckled, "You are going to use that, aren't you?"
The blonde snickered, "Of course! I'll just mention how I deflowered one of the Flower Husbands and maybe it'll shut him up!"
"Idiot." Solidarity teased.
They continued talking and laughing, having an amazing time as they distracted themselves while driving. Eventually, they pulled up to the house and Solidarity sighed, taking a deep breath. There were a couple of cars already crowding the driveway, so Solidarity just parked in the grass. Tango was the first to step out, but the dirty blonde didn't move. He went to the driver's side, opening the door and kneeling down. He could see the other shaking a bit, biting his bottom lip anxiously, tapping his fingers on the wheel.
"It's okay." Tango reassured, cupping his face, "Soli, it's fine. You know me, I won't get jealous or feel threatened or whatever, no matter what anyone says."
"I-I know, I just..." Solidarity leaned into his touch, closing his eyes as he shook a bit, "I'm not worried about you..."
"Excuse me?"
Tango turned, seeing a brunette woman standing on the porch.
"Can I help you?" She asked, "Are you lost? This is private property."
"Uh, no, I'm not lost! Hi, I'm Tango, Soli's boyfriend!" Tango explained, standing up.
"'Soli?'" She repeated, confused.
"Solidarity?" Tango explained, "I-I call him Soli!"
Solidarity hesitantly got out of the car, Tango hovering over him. He shut the car door and smiled, but the man could see the anxiety written on his face still. Solidarity took Tango's hand in his, the blonde squeezing reassuringly.
"Hi Pearl." Solidarity smiled, relaxing a bit as he motioned to the blonde, "This is Tango. My boyfriend for a year and three months."
"Four months, really! I just wanted to take you out on a lot of pre-boyfriend dates!" Tango argued.
"Don't tell on yourself, Tango, my sister will think you're a coward for waiting a month to officially ask to be my boyfriend." The dirty blonde teased before looking at Pearl, "It's good to see you."
The brunette laughed, "Awww, you both are cute. It's nice to meet you Tango!" She walked over, hugging her brother, "And good to see ya, Jim. Come on! We're still waiting on a couple of people!"
They walked inside and Solidarity introduced Tango to Grian, his brother, and then some of the people in the friend group. Gem and Fwhip (who were twins), Joel and Lizzie (a married couple), Cleo, Scar, and Mumbo. All were polite, introducing themselves.
"Other people will be coming, but it's good to finally meet Solidarity's secret boyfriend!" Joel teased, raising an eyebrow, "Scott will be coming, hope it won't make you uncomfortable." He said in a nice tone, but Tango and Solidarity knew he was mocking the blonde.
Solidarity narrowed his eyes slightly, annoyed.
However, Tango just smiled, "Actually, it'd be great to meet the person who drunk called at two am and immediately hung up when I answered!" He said in the same nice voice before he looked at the dirty blonde, fake gasping, "WAIT! Do you think he hung up cause he had a crush on me?! Oh my god, Soli, I'm not prepared, where's the bathroom! I need to make myself presentable!"
Everyone laughed besides Joel, who narrowed his eyes a bit. Solidarity looked at Joel, took Tango's hand and kissed the blonde's cheek before pulling him to the couch. Everyone either caught up with Solidarity or got to know Tango better. Occasionally, either Fwhip or Joel would slip in a snarky comment about Tango blocking Scott or feeling uncomfortable with Scott, but disguised it as playful banter. Tango never took the bait, laughing it off or giving it right back.
At one point, he asked Joel, "Oh, so Lizzie must still talk to her exes, right? Seeing as you're so interested in Soli talking to his!"
Joel actually seemed shocked by this, responding, "Uh, no? Why would she? We're married, I wouldn't want her doing that."
"Huh, weird that you wouldn't want your wife talking to her exes." Tango looked at Solidarity, "I couldn't imagine that."
"Me either." Solidarity hummed, looking at Joel, "Anyways, what were you saying about Scott?"
That seemed to be the moment Joel sort of backed off. Fwhip still tried to get under Tango's skin, but Solidarity knew his boyfriend was a master of "not giving a shit". He watched Tango take whatever was thrown at him and either laughed it off or gave the same energy right back. He smiled and leaned into the other, happy.
However, after about an hour and a half, a couple more people arrived. Tango was introduced to Sausage, Martyn and Ren (a couple, Martyn being one of the ones who Solidarity actually talked to on a regular basis and who Tango immediately liked as the blonde whispered to him "Scott's a huge dick but has everyone wrapped around his finger, don't let him get to you or Timmy."), Big B, and Cub.
And, of course, Scott.
The man was last to arrive. He walked in and everyone, besides Solidarity, Tango, Martyn, and Ren, cheered, saying hi to him and giving him a hug. Scott laughed and hugged back before turning. He gasped as his eyes landed on Solidarity, smiling brightly.
"Dary, oh my god, it's been forever! How are you? It's so good to finally see you again!" He opened his arms to give the other a hug.
Tango could see his boyfriend stiffen up. So, he stepped in front of him and hugged Scott instead, "Hi! It's nice to finally meet you! I've heard so much about you from Grian, Joel, and Fwhip!" Scott pulled back, confused, but Tango held his hand, shaking it.
"Oh, uh, who are-?"
"It's such a pleasure to meet you! My name is Tango!" The blonde smiled innocently, "I'm Soli's boyfriend! We've been dating for a year and four months, not that anyone is counting."
"Three. You insisted on taking me on one month pre-boyfriend dates." Solidarity laughed.
"But we were still exclusive!" Tango turned around and gave Solidarity a hug, the dirty blonde happily returning it, "So that month counts!"
"You know what? It's Christmas, we'll let it count!"
"Yes!" The blonde cheered before he looked back at Scott, leaning into the dirty blonde. Solidarity wrapped one arm around his shoulders as Tango hugged his side, smiling at the other, "Anyways, yeah, it's so nice to finally meet you!"
Solidarity offered his other hand, seeing as the one was wrapped around Tango and too occupied for a hug, "Good to see you again, Scott."
Scott was obviously displeased, but smiled, shaking Solidarity's hand, "You too, Dary."
The man left to greet everyone else as Martyn and Ren walked towards Tango and Solidarity.
"Well damn, I like you." Martyn chuckled, whispering, "You sure know the rules of Scott's game."
Tango smiled innocently, "No idea what you're talking about."
Solidarity laughed, "Mar and I fake dated for awhile in hopes of Scott dropping the whole 'I'm hung up' shtick, and he's never acted like that."
"You got under his skin good." Ren complimented, the four looking at Scott, who was talking with Joel and Lizzie, "He's just going to step up his game."
"Good." Tango chuckled, "I hope so. Soli, how uncomfortable am I going to make everyone?"
"You have my complete consent to do whatever you want to do."
"Ohoho, that's dangerous, Love."
"It is for them, Light."
For the night, Tango stuck to Solidarity like glue, acting like the clingiest boyfriend in the world and Solidarity couldn't be happier with it. They mainly sat on the couch and talked with others, Scott moving to sit beside them occasionally. Because Solidarity was sitting against the arm rest and Tango was next to him, Scott simply sat on Tango's other side, even though he seemed a bit unhappy about it. The conversation flowed with people asking Solidarity how he was doing, if he would be visiting more, and asking Tango about his work, what he did, etc.
Scott would try to bring up something about an old date, but Tango would "accidentally" interrupt, telling a story about their first date or the time Solidarity taught Tango how to ice skate or the time Tango showed Solidarity a trick he knew on how to always win claw machines, even taking out his phone and gushing about the cat he and Solidarity adopted together that Solidarity named Norman.
"He loves naming animals human names, it's sooooooo cute!" Tango giggled before gasping, turning to look at Scott, "Oh, sorry, I hope you don't mind! I'm just so happy to finally meet everyone! I mean, Soli was so scared coming down here, thinking I wouldn't be accepted or fit in. I'm sure you've had to help him through an anxiety or panic attack before, right!"
Scott stared, "No, actually, I haven't."
"Oh, really?" Tango asked, faking confusion because he knew the answer.
"Wait, since when have you had anxiety, Solidarity?" Fwhip asked.
Gem elbowed him, "Dude. Not how you ask."
"It's cool Gem, I was only recently diagnosed so I don't blame him." Solidarity chuckled, smiling awkwardly before looking at Tango, "It was I think two months after I met you? So that's... what, two years?"
"That sounds about right." He looked at the rest of the group, smiling innocently, "He must've changed a lot since high school if no one noticed." He hummed, looking at Scott, "Poor thing was so nervous no one would like me! He was so scared no one would accept me because they all were hung up on you and your past relationship!"
Scott narrowed his eyes a bit, Solidarity blushing as he let out a "T-Tango!"
Everyone laughed, either not noticing the slight accusation or choosing to ignore it, conversation continuing to flow. At one point, Solidarity had to use the bathroom, the man standing up to go. Tango playfully cried out an "Don't leave me!", the group continuing to laugh, talk, and joke.
"Oh, Tango, I have to ask-" Scott smiled innocently at the blonde, "-does Dary still get embarrassed over PDA? I swear, kissing him is like pulling teeth sometimes!"
"No, actually! He loves to share kisses with me! He's such a giver, it's adorable!" Tango giggled, smiling back innocently, "He's such a cuddler too, he's like a puppy sometimes!"
"I guess that makes sense. I was his first kiss after all, he was so embarrassed about it. I could hardly get him to stay still sometimes!" Scott had a sly smirk on his face, "Guess you can thank me for his confidence! He learned from the best!"
"Nah, it's thanks to me! After all-" He leaned towards Scott, whispering in his ear as he smirked, "-I was the first one to get him to spread his legs."
Scott blushed darkly, eyes widening.
"His entire body was red, he was so embarrassed the first time. But now? I can't keep up, half the time. You should see him on his knees, begging. He's so good at it. He really is like a dog." Tango pulled away, smiling innocently, "A good one! The best one!"
Before anyone could ask or say anything, Solidarity came back. He sat next to Tango, the blonde smirking at Scott. He grabbed the other's chin and pulled him in for a kiss, Solidarity kissing back with no hesitation, even wrapping an arm around his waist. When they pulled back, Tango leaned into him, Solidarity keeping his arm in it's place.
Solidarity laughed a bit, face turning red, "You're ridiculous!"
"You love it!"
Scott excused himself to the bathroom, Tango just smiling.
Eventually, dinner was done and everyone got their plates of food. Scott had come back and got his own food. Tango and Solidarity hadn't noticed that they had switched places (with Tango by the arm rest), so Scott sat beside Solidarity. The blonde went to move or say something, but Solidarity gave him an "it's fine" look and smile. Everyone sat around in the living room, talking, bouncing stories off each other, Tango excitedly listening to the stories of young Solidarity, who either blushed in embarrassment or yelled to "not tell that one!" They asked Tango and Solidarity questions about them and their relationship, what it was like living two hours away, if they had any plans to move back, overall having a good time.
Until the alcohol was brought out.
Grian offered cups to everyone, Tango looking at Solidarity.
"You drink as much as you want, I'll drive." Solidarity reassured with a smile.
"Can you drive me too, then?" Scott asked, holding his own cup and beginning to gently draw shapes on his arm.
Solidarity stiffened, "I'm sure someone else can, Tango and I have to go in the opposite direction of your place."
"Awwww, you used to do it all the time when we would sneak alcohol." Scott chuckled, "Remember when we would steal my from my dad's stash? Grian caught us one time and was pissed!"
"Yeah, cause I thought Solidarity had never drank before, especially when you were both fifteen!" Grian teased.
Scott laughed, everyone did, but Solidarity and Tango. Tango held Solidarity's hand, rubbing circles in his palm to try and ground him as the other was stiff.
"Come on, I don't drink and drive and I left my car at home knowing about the alcohol! Are you gonna leave this power damsel all by himself?" Scott teased, drawing flower shapes on Solidarity's arm, "Will Tango not let you?" He accused, but said it in a teasing manner, everyone but Solidarity, Tango, Martyn, and Ren chuckling a bit.
The blonde could feel Solidarity tense up more. He smiled innocently, "Scott, why do you always ask Soli, are you still hung up on him?"
"H-Huh?! What, no, he-"
"Then I think it's weird how you always ask Soli." Tango said in the same teasing voice, though his accusation was more clear.
"He's right, Scott!" Martyn called, also having that teasing voice, "You know what, Ren can take us home! Ren's not allowed to drink outside our house!"
"It was one time!" Ren groaned playfully, both still trying to keep the playful energy, trying to ease the tension.
"One too many times!"
Solidarity was still stiff.
Tango spoke up, "Listen, if I convince him to take you home, will you promise we won't get a drunk call? Look how beautiful Soli is! He gets more pretty in his sleep and I can't have you ruining my eye candy!"
Scott flushed before he smiled, recovering with, "Come on, can't we share him? I mean, he already has me blocked because I make you uncomfortable, I just want to spend more time with him! He rarely visits nowadays!"
"Gee, I wonder why." Solidarity said, unable to mask his annoyance.
Tango stopped the teasing, looking at the other, "Soli-"
"What's wrong, Dary?" Scott asked, still tracing shapes on his arm.
Solidarity took a deep breath and retracted his arm, standing up, "Tango, get your things, we're leaving."
Tango stood up and grabbed his and Solidarity's things, seeing as Grian and Pearl stood up, trying to stop their brother, everyone else too stunned to move or say anything at the suddenness.
"Timmy, what's wrong?" "Nothing, I just want to leave-" "Come on Jim, it's Christmas, please stay!" "Both of you, move, I want to leave!" "You were never like this before, what the hell happened?!" "You know what happened!" "No we don't because you refuse to talk or visit us half the time!" "I've told you why, you just refuse to listen to me!"
Tango grabbed Solidarity's arm, pulling him past them, "Come on, Love, just look down, I'll drive-"
"Hold on, we're talking-"
"With all due respect, Grian, your brother is about to have a panic attack!" Tango glared, standing in front of Solidarity, protecting him as the other shook. Martyn and Ren climbed over the couch and tried to calm him down as Tango hissed, "I'm trying to get him away from people and in a safe place so he can calm down! So, if you'll excuse us-"
"Oh, and you know so much more about him than me, right?!" Grian glared, "You guys have been together for a year and yet you know more than his own brother?"
"Apparently, I do, he moved away for a reason!" The blonde hissed.
"You-!"
"Come on, Soli-"
Pearl grabbed Solidarity's arm, "Guys, please just calm down! Jimmy, if you need a safe place, you can go in your old room and-"
"DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND I WANT TO LEAVE BECAUSE THIS WHOLE HOUSE FEELS UNSAFE?!" Solidarity screamed, facing Pearl, retracting his arm, "THIS ENTIRE HOUSE IS UNSAFE BECAUSE OF HIM!" He motioned to Scott.
"Dary, what-"
"STOP CALLING ME THAT!" The man faced the other, "I'VE ALREADY TOLD YOU COUNTLESS TIMES, I DON'T LIKE THAT NICKNAME! I DON'T LIKE ANYONE WHO ISN'T FAMILY OR MY PARTNER USING A NICKNAME! I'VE TOLD YOU THAT, OVER AND OVER AND OVER, AND I'VE TOLD YOU WHY, AND YOU REFUSE TO FUCKING LISTEN!"
"Hey, let's all just calm down!" Lizzie exclaimed, "Scott didn't do anything-"
"Shut up, Lizzie!" Solidarity growled.
"Woah, don't talk-"
"Shut up, Joel!" The dirty blonde repeated, motioning around the house, "THIS! This is why I don't come down here, this is exactly why! Everyone pushes my boundaries and then tells me to calm down, that I'm overreacting, that I'm being too sensitive, that I can't take a joke! So you know what?! FINE! I won't be back!"
"Solida-"
"NO! I'm tired of this, I'm tired of all this! I'm tired of being told I need to move on from Scott, that I need to let go of a grudge, that I need to just accept things, stuff that I have already done!" Solidarity looked at Scott, glaring, "I wish I never dated you if this is how you would react. Congrats, you've convinced everyone, including my own brother and sister, that I apparently am hung up on you! Despite the fact I have recorded voicemails of you crying, saying how you miss me, how you love me, how you wish we could go back to the way things were! Despite the fact I would pick you up so you didn't walk home drunk, and you tried to kiss me or make me stay the night! Despite the fact you would touch my arms and back and legs and I would not reciprocate, in fact, I would go stiff or tell you to stop, but you didn't care! Despite the fact I moved two hours away so I didn't have to deal with this! Yep, I'm still hung up on you! Tango is totally just a rebound and I am totally just waiting for you to confess your undying love for me so we can live happily ever after! Yep, that's exactly what I'm doing!"
He motioned towards the room, "And you all believe it! Let me tell you all the truth! Scott and I broke up amicably and I haven't looked back once! In fact, I blocked Scott, because I was uncomfortable, but Tango was gracious enough to take the fall because he knew the drama would stress me out!"
"Timmy, come on." Martyn gently pulled the other away, "You don't have to prove anything to anyone-"
"I-I am happy in my new relationship!" Solidarity whimpered, Tango hugging his arm as he was led out, "A relationship where I am respected, my feelings are considered, I can speak and not worry about if I say is the right or wrong thing, where I finally was able to grow a fucking spine! Unlike here, where I feel so shitty because you all make it seem like my comfortably doesn't matter." He was led to the door, "F-For future reference, if Scott is here, I'm not coming. If any of you try to make me apologize or try to reconcile, I will block you. I've been debating on doing this for months, but Tango thought I should give you all one more chance, see if you all have changed. Clearly, you haven't."
Solidarity was led to the car, getting in the passenger seat. Martyn and Tango calmed him down as Ren gathered his and Martyn's things. Once he was calm enough, Tango shut the door, thanking the two profusely. Martyn gave Tango his phone number, asking him to please just text or call him when they got home, Tango promising he would. Tango then got in the front seat and began to reverse, driving away. The dirty blonde gave him his phone, which was already beginning to blow up with texts and calls. Tango took it and shut it off. They sat in silence, the blonde holding Solidarity's hand as the other shook, tears streaming down his face.
"I'm proud of you." Tango reassured.
"...Thanks... You did really good... Not letting him get under your skin..." The dirty blonde shook, wiping his eyes, "I just couldn't, not when he began touching me..."
"I understand, Love."
"I'm s-"
"No need to apologize. You have nothing to be sorry for. Boundaries are for you, not for anyone else." Tango looked at him, smiling, "You should be proud."
Solidarity smiled a bit, "Thank you." He whispered meekly.
The two sat in a comfortable silence, driving home.
AN: This was more of just a story of setting boundaries and me projecting onto my comfort characters. Hope you liked it even if it was more of a vent kinda?

my thoughts on evangelion 3.0+1.0
(as someone who only recently finished it)
as much as i loved shin eva, something about it didn't sit right with me. i've been doing a lot of reflection lately, and i think i've sort of unpacked it?
theres a lot of incoherent rambling here i think but i don't care, i'm not editing shit
spoilers for the rebuilds, don't read if you haven't seen them.
to start, i think it was a- no, not excellent, uh ... it was a satisfactory conclusion to most? i liked it, cried my eyes out obviously.
shinji's character got a great conclusion. i don't think that's a hot take by any means. seeing him actually talking to his father, having a real conversation with gendou, and in turn making that character, who'd probably felt like a walking plot device beforehand, human? that's powerful shit.
↓ please excuse my pathetic whining below
but... oh, mari. she was definitely a fun character, if not a little shallow and fanservicey. her presence never really bothered me though, not until shinji ended up with ...her??
that final scene genuinely shocked me. i guess i sort of get the idea?? like, his only other romantic options were the following:
A: Rei Ayanami
a clone of his dead mother that barely understands the concept of being human, and whose care for him clearly, at least to me, stems from her practically being his family.
B: Asuka Langley Shikinami
an angry redheaded girl who, unlike her version in the original series, is also a clone. this one's backstory is much more shrouded in mystery, but regardless, she's violent asf with shinji, tried to force feed him, etc. as far as we know, she no longer has feelings for him after the 14-year timeskip and is implied to be in a relationship with kensuke.
C: Kaworu Nagisa
(we'll get to him in a minute)
A and B... not great options. A is a weird dynamic, and they give off a sibling vibe to me anyway. B is jusy plain fucked. i've never thought asuka and shinji's relationship was remotely healthy, not with soryuu OR shikinami.
but did the writing team just forget about C? i understand it was established towards the end that kaworu didn't truly understand shinji's happiness, but ...that doesn't fit with the relationship i saw, at least.
to me, yeah, he fucked up a couple times. his existence ended up causing more pain to shinji but this was through no fault of his own.
"all he wanted was for shinji to live and be happy."
kaworu realizing that maybe it was not just a selfless act, that maybe it was also for himself, and acknowledging that, is absolutely character development. in exchange for becoming human, he acknowledged his own flaws.
and that is beautiful to me.
so why am i weirded out by shinji ending up with mari, you ask?
it's because she does not have depth as a character.
she feels so utterly flat to me, and that is not a dig at her, i'm not a mari hater by any means, but OH MY GOD. how do you just end like that? with this one person who doesn't feel like a real person?
and it's not like i'm mad about it because she's new, hell no. it's because she has no flaws. she feels like this perfect shell of a character to me. and maybe that's the point? i have no idea. i have no idea what was going through anno's head when he was cooking up this film.
again, to clarify, i still LOVED the movie. but mari becoming important is weird. kaworu was right there and they just kinda ??? tossed him aside ???
to me at least, it should've been him, or shinji's love life should've been left up to interpretation. mari didn't earn that ending.
(this is the only real criticism i have about the movie btw it was fine)

ok but I'm actually starting to get pissed off and annoyed with this weird family dynamic stuff they're doing in mk1 just to try to stop the gay ships that's been around for a while now.
like subscorp (Kuai x Hanzo), bitomas, subsmoke (Kuai x Tomas. I'm not too much of a fan of this ship but I'll mention it anyway) and shaoko, idk if there's anything else but lmk if I missed anything I guess.
but Imma mainly talk about my main ship here; bitomas.
I would like to add that I'm not a proshipper in any way cus fuck that shit. so don't frame me as one.
this is the only recent game where they're both in it together but they make them step bros yet I've seen people make mk1 subscorp and no one is really complaining about it and it gets a bunch of likes, which is WORSE than mk1 bitomas because it's ACTUAL incest. mk1 bitomas isn't incest, they're not related to each other in any way. they're not even the same race.
but yk what's not fucking fair? THAT THE SUBSMOKE SHIP IS MORE ACCEPTED THAN BITOMAS THAT THE ACTUAL VOICE ACTORS SHIP IT FFS
BI FUCKING DISMISSES IT, HE DOESN'T SEE HIM AS A DAMN BROTHER
BUT IN SUBSMOKE THEY ACTUALLY DO ADDRESS EACH OTHER AS BROTHERS, HOW CAN ONE BE ACCEPTED MORE THAN THE OTHER WHEN IT'S THE SAME DAMN THING
this is literally how I'm feeling rn about this
Tumblr media
two people who ARE NOT related to each other in any damn way is NOT incest, doesn't matter if they grew up together or not.
so if two people were dating before and their parents got together and married, then those two people shouldn't be together anymore cus they would be step siblings? that's fucking stupid and you guys know it.
in a way they're doing the stupid thing like how some people think liulao is, yk the whole "they're cousins/brothers" but they're not, it was confirmed they're not but people don't wanna do their damn research.
all nrs cares about is the straight pairings and lesbian ones cus they don't get as much backlash as two men being together.
===.._ _..===.._ _..===
so I got a little hc/story for y'all:
sometime after the brothers' dad takes Tomas in, Tomas falls for Bi and his whole idolization for Bi is a coverup to try to hide his crush on him from Bi and Kuai. yes he gets close with Kuai as in best friends but he feels this is something he should keep to himself for now.
Bi wasn't actually always mean to Tomas, at some points he might have been cold to him sometimes but that's just Bi, just cus he was cold to him, doesn't mean he didn't care for him.
but then at some point Bi-Han fell for Tomas, probably starting in his teen years, but since he didn't know how to express it or deal with it, he acts how he acts towards him like how he does in mk1. it's because he never felt this way before towards anyone, let alone a guy. so he pretty much acts kinda like a tsundere in a way. keep in mind, even before this, Bi still didn't see Tomas as his brother and Tomas obviously didn't see him that way either cus of his crush on him.
all those years their feelings for each other got stronger and stronger, which made Bi more cold to Tomas, which was the time he told him that line in that one scene in mk1 about him not being brothers or Lin Kuei.
but after the betrayal of Bi-Han, while Kuai and Tomas were making the Shirai Ryu, Tomas snuck back to the Lin Kuei at night to see Bi-Han.
they fought because Bi started it, he did think Tomas was there to kill him or was there for some revenge but all Tomas wanted to do was talk. after the fight, Tomas managed to get Bi to stop.
they talked for awhile, Tomas asking the question as to why Bi-Han did all of this in the first place, why he was cold to him, why he got so much colder after all the years. Bi was hesitant to tell him, especially now since he thinks its too late to let him know the truth, he probably ruined all chances he had with him now.
but he did tell him anyway, he told him the truth, everything. from the very beginning to now. Tomas wasn't expecting this, he didn't think Bi felt the same way towards him but was he really telling the truth about the other stuff?
Bi-Han backed away after he told him, he understood that he might not believe his words anymore. Tomas stayed silent on Bi's bed, thinking, before he spoke and told him that he should tell Kuai this truth even if Kuai might not believe it.
he paused for a moment before he spoke, agreeing with Tomas. he then called him to Bi's bed, Bi was hesitant because he wasn't sure of it, he didn't know if he should.
after a few minutes, Bi joined him in bed and Tomas held him, confessing his love to him too, even after everything, he still has the same love for him like the first time he fell for him.
they wind up being together in secret for months as Tomas helped Kuai with the clan. during that time, Bi did told the truth to Kuai too and apologized for it. Kuai is a bit hesitant to forgive him right now but he will consider it. he will still work on his own clan as it still feels like the right thing to do.
===.._ _..===.._ _..===
so ye if you don't like it, plz just block me, cus Imma ship them since others are shipping mk1 subsmoke with little problems, I'm starting to not care at this point because of it but I will put tags you can block in those posts to not see it

Best friends brother chapter 10 LAST PART: I Always Come Prepared
Summary: Yunho doesn’t want his baby sister (Y/n) dating any of his friends especially Mingi since they are like brothers to him and it’s an issue when all Y/n’s friends are dating Yunho’s friends but he wouldn’t let Y/n talk to any guys since he’s so overprotective, it’s such a shame that she’s been with Mingi for almost 2 years and no one knows. What will happen if Yunho finds out?
Song Mingi x Reader
Warnings: cursing, smut, fights
Word count: 1k
Genre: series, angst, comedy, fluff, hidden relationship, High school au
Updates: probably Friday at 10pm BST
“Mingi we should go to Kang Daniel’s fan sign” Mingi sigh eyed me saying “why do you like him so much?” I hit his arm a little “what do you mean his voice is so angelic and his dancing” I was blushing just saying those and he rolled his eyes.
“Can we go pleaseeeeee” “fine” “why do you want me to come anyway” I looked at him and told him “for comfort” “and you know I don’t like going places alone” he nodded then I jump onto him kissing his cheeks.
A couple year later me and Mingi live together in an apartment in Seoul but Mingi is a Kpop idol with his friends while I go to Yonsei University, and I study interior design. Mingi proposed to you recently since you two have been together for 7 years.
You were about to go to uni and since Mingi has to be up early as well so you both ended up waking up at the same time, as soon as you both get ready you kiss Mingi goodbye after dropping him off to the company’s and driving to my university, I made new friends in uni since my friends are also kpop idols so they don’t go here.
“Y/n that dress that you made in class is so beautiful” I smile and thanked her, we went into class and I got a text from Mingi, I smile and texted him back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“You’re having a wedding?” “Yeah me and Min- my boyfriend have been together for 7 years” “and you didn’t invite us?” I never told them that I was dating a kpop idol since I felt like there was no need, my graduation is soon anyway and my wedding is a month after, but since I’ve known my friends for 4 years I guess it’s best to just let them come “of course you guys are invited, we haven’t really sorted out the guest arrangements yet anyway” “ok so like when is it” I told them where and when it is, and said how they wouldn’t bring anyone I don’t know but they can bring a date, since I didn’t want people to know that I’m married to an idol yet since the groups dating ban hasn’t ended yet even though almost all the members are in a relationship.
“So why doesn’t he go here” I looked at them trying to find something to say “he works” “ohh ok” “oh yeah Y/n did you see ATEEZ’s new comeback.” “No I don’t really listen to them” she showed ma a picture of the 8 boys and I kept my eyes on Mingi “so whose your bias?” “Wait she looks like a Yunho bias” “yeah they look the same too” I looked at them shocked and disgusted, I did not want them to say that even if they don’t know about me and Yunho being siblings, “my bias is Mingi actually”
“Really?, my bias is Hongjoong” I looked at them and nodded as they were fangirling over each member “I really wish I could marry Mingi, he’s literally husband material” I nodded agreeing with them since it’s true, Mingi is husband material.
After school I decided to go grocery shopping, while I was searching for stuff someone back hugged me and I turn around seeing the man with a mask and a hat covering his eyes, I knew it was Mingi and I hugged him putting my head on his chest smelling his scent. “What are you going here, what if someone sees you” he smiled giving me a hat and mask so it seems less suspicious “I always come prepared princess” I smile as he helped me hold the basket.
When we were about to pay and Mingi could see that the woman could recognize him, he put his head down so she couldn’t see his eyes. We walked out and went into the car, “I think the lady saw me” I looked at him shocked “wait really” “Yh but I don’t think she realized who I am I nodded hoping he doesn’t get a scandal.
Once we walked into our apartment and ATEEZ and (G)-idle were here I was shocked to see them since I thought they were busy, I hugged them, they had another member called soojin and she was so nice she hugged me and smiled at me wanting to know about the wedding, “so how when’s the wedding?” I looked and Mingi and smiled then back at soojin, “it’s in 3 months”
A couple months later it was the wedding ceremony, i was taking pictures and as my friends from my uni saw me with Mingi walking up to me and kissing me, getting ready to take pictures with him. “Wait … Mingi IS YOUR HUSBAND!” I looked at them in shock as my brother answered them still lowkey not wanting us to be together “yup” “I don’t even know why my sister chose my best friend, but it is what it is” the girls were just flabbergasted, they didn’t know how to react. “Ok so let me get this straight, you’re getting married to a kpop idol, your brother is a kpop idol, and your friend are kpop idols too” “yes” I answered as they stood there in utter shock “THATS SO COOL” I laughed a little as we took pictures to and they go to the main venue.
While I was walking down the isle so me and Mingi could finally get married my friends looked at me excited as they were quietly rooting me on, I turned to look at Mingi and he kept looking at me the whole time, as soon as we finally got to kiss people cheered us on as Mingi pulled me closer and wrapping his arms around my waist while I cupped his cheeks as we pulled into a soft passionate kiss.

this might be self projecting so sorry in advance for my yapping(not a request dont worry!) its kind of a thing ive been thinking about a lot lately, but grim strongly reminds me of my british shorthair cat i lost a few months ago. how yuu cares so much about grim, it just made something snap inside of me i guess??
we all know that yuu has formed a strong bond with grim over their time in nrc, the reason for this could simply be because they practically (grim lol) depend on each other since both grim and yuu are considered as the odd bunch at nrc. (which is probably true cause "yuu" is just a vessel for the reader) but what if yuu had a pet that they cared so much about who passed away recently, their grief being the catalyst for their quick bondage with the furry little guy?
like when grim gets lost or something, yuu would flip the whole school building upside down along with the students, just to make sure he is okay. what would the students think about this? the calm and collected, responsible, nonchalant prefect absolutely losing themselves because one fluff monster of a student is not seen for a few hours? plot twist he just got lost in a random dorm lol
ok thats it bye ilysm
HI ily2
honestly I think grim could be a lot of things for yuu!! this is also something I've thought about. I have younger brothers who I helped raise, and I actually see a lot of our bond in yuu and grim's
and yuu and grim have a parental-sibling-pet-friend-roommate thing going on to me, like that's yuu's cat but also their little baby. you know? if yuu had a pet, or family back home, then grim would serve as their family in twisted wonderland. and grim thinks of yuu as family, too, honestly, I'm sure he does. he doesn't even remember his biological family
but I think grief is actually a pretty big part of their bond, anyway. I mean, just thinking about yuu losing their entire family, their friends, their culture, their favorite things, their history, everything, without really knowing if they'll ever be able to get it back- that's grief. I would be grieving. there's much to be said about that, but that's for another post. the world of twst is so disorienting and complicated and hostile towards yuu, that most of the time it probably feels like they and grim only have each other. he's such an important character in the story
but anyway. I think it's pretty well-known that grim and yuu are a package deal tbh 😭 very few students would think they're irrational for worrying over him, especially post-book 6. grim would be the most annoyed, if anything (he loves/hates being babied). though I guess that depends on the severity of the freakout

Light's ARG notes - Dear Evelyn
Dear Evelyn (spotify link) is a horror podcast with a few ARG elements! It's just coming out and it's really good. I know some of the people involved (though don't know anything else about the podcast itself) and really like the other podcast on their network, the Creepypasta Book Club. Check em out! There are also some ARG elements. (It looks like you can listen to the podcast without engaging with any of the ARG elements, at least for now, but it's early on and anyways I love an ARG.)
Under the cut I'm dropping a lot of spoiler notes on Episode 1 "introductions" and Episode 2 "The Attic", which is all that's out so far. Really just my notes on the characters and what we know about everything.
I'm taking a break for this in between working on the shorthand code, which... might take me a while. I know nothing about shorthand and never claimed to be good at codes in the first place. XD
Characters
The Payne family
Sparrow Payne - The voice of the show. Sending recordings to get back in touch with their younger sibling, Evelyn. Their father has just died and they've moved back to the old family house in Keen's Cross, Indiana.
Got emancipated at 16, hasn't been back since. Refers to themself as "the scary one" of the siblings.
Evelyn Payne - Sparrow's younger sister. Was more online at a younger age. Also left Keen's Cross early and has been estranged from everyone. Things are really tense with Sparrow, who doesn't even know their address, which Sparrow thinks is fair.
As a kiddo, really morbid and into scary stuff. Made up and was scared of "Gabe the Cave Monster".
On a post-it note on the wall of Evelyn's room, in her handwriting, is "Pale_Horse1392".
Pastor Roger Payne - Sparrow and Evelyn's dad, who recently died. Was always a hardass but really became a pious dick after his wife vanished.
Naomi Payne - Sparrow and Evelyn's mom, who went missing when Sparrow was - I forget but I want to say like 12 years old.
Into new age stuff, not as into the religious stuff, which was a point of conflict in her relationship with Roger.
Wrote extensive diaries.
Sparrow is pretty sure she's dead.
Other characters
Mrs. Rapperty (sp?): Next door neighbor, lives alone in big dirty house. Recluse. Now maybe has Alzheimer's or something. Said Naomi was so beautiful but that she lost the faith and left the kids - all of which was news to Sparrow. She seems to know something about Naomi.
Jake Petty: Gay kid that the kids knew when they were younger, stayed in Keen's Cross. Closer to Evelyn's age.
Officer Petty: Jake's dad. Cop.
Pastor Drayer (sp?): The new pastor. Was really curious about Evelyn at Roger's funeral, despite having never met either of the Payne kids.
The missing person case
According to news report at the end of "introductions", Naomi was: Reported as missing:
4 days after last seen
3 days after authorities were notified
Reported to outside authorities (like, police in another town) BY one of the kids hitchhiking to a nearby town. Guessing that's Sparrow, since Evelyn was very young.
Sparrow tried to get help and answers as a kid but doesn't seem to have known much.
Since she died, the entire case has been publicized and become infamous online, which Sparrow hates. A lot of stuff like Naomi's journals are digitally available.
Naomi's journals
Naomi wrote some every day, almost.
Some missing ones mentioned in "The Attic", including various years. The journals are indexed with letters.
Also lots of albums, almost all of the mom. Lots with the mom and some baby in places that don't look like Keen's Cross, which is confusing to Sparrow.
A lot of the diaries were made public but not these ones Sparrow just found in the attic.
Sparrow mentions one specific entry - 1992 (May 18) - Talking about Mt St Helens erupting, on its anniversary. Naomi tried to get others to leave town - something bad is happening here too.
An excerpt of one of the diaries, written in shorthand, was shared with the episode description. I'm still trying to figure out what it says.
Tumblr media
The Payne House
Dad left the kid's rooms mostly untouched since they moved out.
Bunch of stuff in the attic that is padlocked shut. Wild!
As of "The Attic", at Evelyn's suggestion, Sparrow found the key taped to the underside of Dad's night stand.
The attic contained a bunch of Naomi's things and diaries, mostly untouched in interceding years. Unclear how much of this, if any, the police ever saw. There are sections of the diaries - like in shorthand - that definitely never appeared online, and that Sparrow never saw before.
pale_Horse1392
Right, so in the description of "introductions", there's a link to this image:
Tumblr media
The QR code goes to this youtube channel, which contains (at time of writing) only this cryptic video.
youtube
So I'm thinking pale_horse1392 is either Evelyn, or someone Evelyn was in contact with as a young person.
Riddle
If you click on the drawing of Gabe the Cave Monster in the episode 2 notes, there's a link to a riddle. I also have not figured out the riddle.

I have a request if you're taking them, I may also request this to a few other blogs, so don't mind that, I absolutely love your work btw!!
I was hoping for Wanda and reader
wanda recently invited her gf R to live with her, but R has a habit she doesn't know about. The previous person R lived with always made R do the laundry, make all the food, do all the cleaning, and do everything, and R doesn't realize how messed up that is, R thinks their ''lower'' than whoever they live with, therefore they should do everything.
wanda is heartbroken to see R waiting on her like that, making her meals and cleaning up after her, and doing it happily too, and is upset that her love thinks so low of themselves.
que Wanda reassuring R they will split the work evenly, and R doesn't need to do everything
thank u in advance!
Thank you! I hope you like this one :))
Tumblr media
Ever since you decided to date, your partners were always demanding. Asking you to do their laundry or make meals for them, or such. You didn't find any issue with that really, you grew up taking care of your younger sibling so you kind of grew used to being the one to do chores around the house.
You recently moved into Wanda's apartment, and you couldn't be any happier. You loved Wanda more than anything, and you appreciated a little company. As you were used to, you took over the chores around her apartment. At first, Wanda didn't think much of it, she just thought that you were friendly and helping her.
But then you started doing it more often that Wanda felt the need to tell you to relax a bit since you were doing everything around the house and you seemed so tense. But you were confused and said "Aren't I supposed to do chores since we're dating?"
You were met with a confused look from Wanda trying to think why you said such thing and then you continued: "I've been doing this with the people I've dated before and they seemed to like it," You said with a smile on your face.
The first thought that crossed Wanda's mind is that you were used and you didn't know. She knew that sometimes you thought the best of people even if they don't deserve it, but she never thought that something like this happened.
"Detka, no, you aren't supposed to do chores alone, I can help you," She replied and you tilted your head in a questioning manner. "But everyone else said that that's what I'm supposed to do," You said. She sighed and couldn't help but move closer to you to hold you in her arm. She felt like she can protect you this way.
"I know, but they were wrong, you shouldn't have let them walk over you," She whispered and you started to think to all the times where they demanded something ridiculous at an ungodly hour but you still did it out of love. Now felt stupid.
"I was used," You whispered more to yourself than to Wanda. "I know, but it's over know, you've got me, I will never let anyone treat you like that ever again," You weren't listening. You couldn't. All this time, they were being toxic to you and you were oblivious. Before you knew it, your eyes started to tear up.
"Oh no detka, shhh, it's okay, don't cry, I won't let anyone do that to you, I promise," She said while gently rubbing your back. "I know, but I just can't get rid of the fact that I was so oblivious to all their doings," You sobbed. "I know, and we both won't let that happen to you ever again and I give you my word," She replied.
You sat there with Wanda holding you in her arms as she slowly started to rock you back and forth while rubbing your shoulders until you fell asleep. Meanwhile, Wanda was plotting revenge. How could they mess with you? How could they manipulate you like that?
She will make them pay.

Showing your colours and being free - LuKitty Week 2024
So @lukacouffaineappreciation came out with this event and I decided I wanted to give it a go and decided to also connect it to my Wish universe. If you've never read any of those stories, Luka and Juleka have the Ladybug and Cat Miraculous, Lila and Adrien switched lives, except Adrien is thriving and not lying and Lila is miserable. Oh, and Lukadrien, though in this chapter, its only mentioned briefly and not really the focus. I had wanted to get a bit more in depth in some parts, like making some of their social media posts or other early performances before they opened for Jagged Stone, but I didn't get the chance. Anyway, enjoy! Kitty Section
How it started
“It sounds like a good idea right?”
Luka looked at his sister, who was on the side against the back of the couch they were sharing. They were sitting under the glass pavilion, listening to heavy metal after the day of akumas they had. Seated on either end of the couch, they both got to stretch out, though Juleka made use of his lap for her feet.
“I don’t know. we’re starting to really nail this hero thing down. you think a band is the best idea?”
“A year. And we’ve pulled some impossible odds.” Juleka reminded. “Tikki and Plagg are always reminding us that we’re also teenagers. Luka, you don’t have any outside friends, other than the few you’ve made online or at work and you rarely hang out with them. You’re around my classmates more anyway.”
Luka sighed, sliding further down in the couch, Juleka’s legs moving to his stomach as he draped his arms over her ankles. “What about if practise gets interrupted by an akuma?”
Juleka shrugged. “not like we haven’t made weirder excuses to escape class or mamman.”
True, except both siblings were 100% sure their mother knew what they were doing. The Kwami didn’t even argue against it, Tikki saying something about how some parents knew, though Plagg said some parents were morons. He respected the matriarch, so Luka couldn’t complain.
“Who would be in it? other than you, me and Rose?”
“Ivan plays the drums. Rose is really good at metal screaming, so that’s kinda what she was thinking. Ivan 100% could keep up with that. Besides, since Kim learned not to bully him anymore, he’s much more open to being friends with others.”
“I guess being Mylene’s friends help.” Luka said, digging his phone out from where it was buzzing in his pocket. “Ok, if you come up with a concept and a song and an actual workable rehearsal time, I’ll agree. But I still say we’re taking a risk. I got to go; someone placed an order for 3 different pizza places. For the same order.”
“People are weird.” Juleka said, moving her feet.
He looked at his sister who’d been cursed with not being able to be in pictures, loved horror and for a few hours sometimes, would wear a frilly black dress with cat ears and a tail. He was an empath who preferred music to words so much, that he went to an online school and would hop around Paris in a spotted sweatshirt.
His sister wasn’t wrong.
How it changed
Luka pushed the door to Dupain-Cheng Patisserie open, glad to spot a pigtailed girl carrying a tray of pastries – it looked and smelled like cherry turnovers – instead of her father. M. Dupain heard Marinette make one comment on Luka’s appearance and suddenly he was sure his daughter was interested in him. According to Adrien, Marinette had been interested in the blonde transfer student more, at least until Adrien turned her down.
“Welcome to – oh, Luka! Welcome. are you here for a delivery? Papa didn’t say we had one.”
“No, no.” Luka said, walking up to the counter, where Marinette met him after the turnovers were sitting on their shelf in the display case. “I was hoping to hire you for something. Rose mentioned that you opened commissions recently, specifically for graphic design?”
“Yeah! Jagged Stone had me do a poster for him for his latest tour and while he’s pretty easy to please, I thought if I got more practise with other people, that it would help me get better. That way, not even Bob Roth could try and get me to change things.”
Luka had remembered Marinette running around the hotel the day Jagged Stone was akumatized because of XY. He heard later the DJ was related to Jagged’s producer and since Luka himself wasn’t a fan of XY, he and Juleka had been theorizing if his fame was bought.
“Well, Adrien had brought up a good point when he asked if we were serious about doing Kitty Section. If we want to do this, we’re going to need a symbol to put on our social media. I’d like to hire you to design the symbol.”
“Oh, I’d do it for free.” Marinette offered.
“Nope. We’re going to pay you. Adrien has his hands full trying to get everything set up and still follow his mom’s rules for this, since it’ll be a public account, Rose is working on songs and I have to do melodies, Juleka is doing research for cafes or venues that’ll take auditions and Ivan is trying to convince his dad to be our roadie if we need to move our things and my mom’s out of town, who’s the main parent in charge. We need someone who knows our style to help us design a symbol. So, we are paying you to help make our lives easier because once we have that, a lot of the other things will fall into place.”
Marinette stared at him before smiling and nodding. “Alright. But I get to help film your first video. And make outfits!”
Luka nodded. “But symbol first. So, will you take the job, provided we’re happy with the price and timeline?”
“I will.” She said, holding her hand out so they could shake on it.
With Mme. Cheng taking over for her daughter, Luka sat with Marinette in her room, pictures Rose had texted him on his phone, along with blurbs the other members had written about the group.
“A band to show your colours and be free.” Was the main one she kept going back to.
With a picture of Lego Unikitty, Marinette decided to use it and the groups first song as inspiration. Pure white cat with rocker red eyeliner, horn and a heart shaped nose. She even did another with rainbow butterfly wings behind it.
“Ivan could have this version on his drums.” Luka suggested, when Marinette was about to scrap it.
In the end, Adrien had a symbol to make their profile picture, Juleka had something to attach to emails and flyers for places who were willing to accept amateur acts, Rose had something to reflect off of for them to write their band’s anthem and Ivan and Mylene ended up with a new date idea in figuring out how to press on the newly printed design to the front of Ivan’s drum set.
And Marinette had a significant amount of money in her bank account.
Luka using his last pay check – where he worked overtime 4 times –  was 100% worth it.
How it’s going
Luka loved the outfits Marinette made for their first music video, but sometimes, the jackets just made more sense. It was their first performance since opening for Jagged Stone and the restaurant’s owner had told them everyone who booked a table was there to see them. Adrien reposting clips Alya recorded from the concert seemed to be a major help. It was also a week after Fu wasn’t master anymore and Adrien said he loved him. Life might be insane but music was still his way of escape.
Their little group had expanded, with Nino and Alya helping Adrien with filming and Nino joining Max to get their equipment and sound set up. Nathaniel would help Marinette with any designs, Max getting them projected onto their backgrounds. Marc and Mylene were their roadies and assistants. Kim claimed to be their bodyguard, though Alix and Kagami could be more intimidating. After Scarlet Bug had rescued Chloe after she threw off being akumatized, she considered herself their ‘biggest fan’.
Luka didn’t actually believe she liked any of their music but he appreciated the effort.
“Hey.” Juleka threw her shoulder into his arm, Rooar letting out a squeak from where she hid inside Juleka’s jacket. Not hearing Plagg around his sister was taking some getting used to. He hoped Adrien was handling him alright. “How you feeling? Better?”
Since Luka didn’t attend classes in person, he had more free time, so he’d been taking a lot of the Guardian responsibilities, on top of being Scarlet Bug and leading a brand-new team. Juleka had been fighting him the whole way, like the best sister she was.
“Relaxed, for one. Do you think we can actually do this record deal thing with everything going on?” the thought had been running around his head all throughout rehearsal.
“I know we deserve it. you deserve it Lu. Music means the world to you and whether it comes from this or school or whatever you plan after, what we’re about to do, right now? You deserve this 100%. Rose might be the front man, but I like to think you’re the heart and soul of Kitty Section.”
Again, Juleka was the best sister.
She was slightly wrong though. It wasn’t just him as the heart and soul of the band, it was all of them.
“Ladies and gentlemen! We are Kitty Section!” Rose cried into the mic, her pink mask catching on the lights Max and Morvok programmed. The band was playing the opening for ‘Gimme Chocolate’, which Adrien and Kagami would test the singer on to make sure she still had the pronunciation right. “Are you ready to eat sweets and rock?”
It was the all of them, each member, all the people that helped with each performance. this was his main reason for loving music. For loving Kitty Section.
Showing your true colours and being free.

Dumping Astarion into Castlevania
I've recently finished Castlevania: Nocturne, and I have vampires on the brain. I'm surprised there aren't any more crossovers between BG3 and Castlevania. They both involve RPG vibes/mechanics, vaguely historical settings, and of course, vampires. I think if Astarion got dropped into Castlevania, particularly Nocturne, I think he'd have some fun interactions.
Anyway, here are my brainworms:
Let's place this story post-BG3. Astarion's level 12 and a vampire spawn on some level of the good to neutral spectrum. This is to keep him on some sort of equal level with the main characters (power-scaling between these works is so confusing). It would be interesting if he were a phantom rogue (I guess he skimmed The Necromancy of Thay). It's this ghostly rogue subclass that fits the gothic setting well.
Anyhoo, the story starts with Astarion (and Tav or Durge maybe) searching for a vampirism cure. This leads to him entering a temple about vampires. Rocks fall, he rolls a nat 1 on his dex save, and he enters a post-season 1 Nocturne world.
Astarion enters into a world of culture shock. Here, the vampires have won. There's no sun, he can walk outside 24/7. He is considered and respected as a full vampire. There are flavors and varieties of blood to drink. The eclipse has brought about vampire party time!
But his new brethren are wanton and cruel; they use humans as their pets and trample over the autonomy of those considered weaker. They worship some self-styled god that powers herself on sacrifices, and toys with her prey. Sound familiar?
Astarion tries some internal sabotage. He drives away or claims and frees the youngest victims. He shanks the nastiest (but not most powerful) vampires after luring them to isolated spaces. He swallows down his flashbacks, his disgust at himself when he does this.
His fellow vampires become suspicious of him. Astarion's forced to run. He runs and runs to the remotest areas, he subsists on the blood of animals once again.
One day, when Astarion has wrapped his mouth on the neck of a rabbit in a forest in France, he gets spotted.
"What the fuck." states Juste Belmont, who's being sick and tired of all these damn vampires around his damn hut.
Astarion manages to both explain himself and insult this murder-happy woods hermit at the same time. Juste points him toward the Nocturne gang, who's doing some plan to bring the sun back or something. Astarion remembers the feeling of the sun on his skin and decides to join.
"No point in depriving everyone else of something so sweet. Mark my words, old man, I will walk in the sun again."
Astarion somehow joins the gang that somehow doesn't go murderhobo on him at the first meeting.
I can see him becoming their spy on the inside, an intell gatherer who can freely rub elbows with vampires. No more disastrous human-only spy missions! Maybe he runs into Olrox at a fancy vampire mixer. Maybe Astarion gets reminded of his own vampire-nonvampire romance if he's with Tav. People reference historical events and Astarion has to pretend he knows what went on.
Astarion secretly thinks Alucard's the coolest guy ever (he's just like Drizzt for real), but acts all aloof around him. Having both done this save-the-world thing before, Astarion and Alucard gradually take parental/oldest sibling roles within the group.
Alucard: "I'm aware of sun veils, parasols, all sorts of innovations that allow vampires to walk in the daytime, albeit covered. How exactly did you manage that feat with no coverings at all? Magic?"
Astarion: "That's a long and complicated story. To put it succinctly, a giant squid-shaped ship abducted me one day and shoved a tadpole into my eye."
Things happen. Erzsebet gets defeated, Astarion reassures Maria and Tera that one can still have a fulfilling relationship with a loved one even after vampirism, and he leaves for his own world. There could be a scene where some powerful vampires offer him ultimate power, and tempt him to conquer Faerun under the Castlevania vampires' name. Astarion, having already gone through this ascendent nonsense once already, turns that down stat. He waves goodbye to his new friends. He walks back into Faerun's sunlight, the sunlight he must dodge again once more.
I don't think I'll make this into a full-fledged fic. Anyone is free to add on to this or make stuff based on it.
