There’s this secret fifth (fourth?) supreme ghost but they’re REALLY behind on the news. So when they finally rise and plot their revenge against the heavens all their attempts to sow chaos fail miserably

I had a dream where everyone's nails began mysteriously disappearing, and Ghost was especially upset about this and enlisted Hornet and Quirrel and Hollow to help search for everyone's missing weapons and eventually Hollow was the only one who's nail wasn't taken (because of Hollow's extreme paranoia about losing it and never letting it go.)

They ended up finding out what happened because a strange little bug attempted and failed to steal Hollow's nail and they forced him to explain and he takes them to this secret place where a giant bug, like an actual giant (like the temple sized bug) lives and is building a home for itself and it's little friend has been bringing it nails that it's been using to build it's home. You know like actual nails, with a hammer.

I woke up before they confronted the giant unfortunately

I just realized I have never seen dru with dawn in literally anything, so! here's some very quick thoughts about them:

dawn thinks drusilla is a FREAK at first. they do not get along bc dru is so so taken with little dawnie and little dawnie herself is petrified every time this psycho vampiress who speaks in incomprehensible metaphors drifts into the room and laser focuses onto her

dru likes to always have a hand on dawn. little pats and playing with her hair and whatever she can get away really with without being pushed away. she's like a cat, constantly rubbing up against the girl like she's marking her territory with love. dawn's their little girl! ...even if the only one who knows it yet is dru herself

dru cannot get enough of just being around dawn. her key-ness is mesmerizing. first time dru sees dawn is a shit show for everyone except dru, who is having a fascinating time Seeing dawn

just like spike, dru gives dawn lots of nicknames. the slayer is their own personal sunshine, but dawn here has been touched by the universe itself

I think over time dawn would learn to appreciate dru's attention, if only bc she feels as though no one else is giving her any and dru is always happy to provide, making them quite close (even if for not very good reasons)

modern ghostfield AU where danny's like "oh shit Im giving too many clues, fuck, he probably knows Im the ghostface. I have to kill him and make it look like an accident." and dwight just fully believes danny is a vampire, rather than the ghostface killer, for some fucking reason.

specifically they have a twilight-ass moment where dwight's questioning him like "youre more active at night, pale as hell, you barely eat, constantly make murder jokes," and danny's like oh shit oh shit oh shit until they do the "I know what you are" "say it" bit and dwight just utters "vampire" and danny short circuits so bad he breaks character.

For those who don't know, you can swap game logos in your steam library with custom ones by right clicking the steam banner and clicking "Set Custom Logo". As far as I know Steam accepts both .png and .jpeg formats (there's ways to get gifs to work as well, but that gets a bit technical so it might be best to look at a guide for that)

along with that you can also adjust the position of the logo as well as set custom backgrounds!

Speaking of weird things in the season already, I'm back with the obsession with names of things in the seasonal activity.

So in Riven's Lair, you get randomly assigned "missions" that change with each run. I believe there's five of them as I've played a lot of Riven's Lair so far and only got these five to rotate. Maybe there will be more in weeks to come!

Anyway, if you look in the top left corner when you start the activity, it will tell you the name of the mission you're on. The names that I've seen so far are:

These aren't random words! They're all related to language and rhetoric, which makes sense with the Ahamkara theme as Ahamkara are very dependent on the way language is used around them.

Polysemy is when words or symbols are capable of having multiple meanings. Apophasis is when you speak about something by denying it or mentioning it by saying it's not required to be mentioned (def check examples on wikipedia if this is confusing). Synchysis is also a way of speaking in a way that deliberately messes up the order of words to confuse or surprise the person you're speaking to. Enthymeme is a type of an argument where you construct a sentence which tells some sort of a fact by omitting the way you came to that conclusion because the fact should be obvious on its own (again, check wiki for examples, it will be easier to understand). And tautology has a meaning in both language and logic; in language, a tautology is a statement that repeats something, adding redundant information and in logic, a tautology is a logical formula in which a sentence is constructed in a way that every interpretation of the sentence is true.

I doubt these words were chosen randomly and there might be more or perhaps more will cycle in during weeks to come. But even with just this, there's a pattern. I'm not sure which meaning of tautology is being used here; possibly the language one because it fits the rest, but the logic interpretation could also be possible.

The first week's mission was also specifically Polysemy:

I assume next weeks we'll probably do other specific ones in some order, which would also mean there should be at least 2 more. I'm wondering if there's some sort of a reason why these specific words were chosen. Obviously they all relate to forms of speaking and language which is the primary way that Ahamkara use to affect reality; speaking in specific terminology and using particular phrases and language forms is important to them and when speaking to them.

But given the involvement of the Vex, it also reminded me of the lore book Aspect in which every chapter is named after grammatical, linguistic and logic terms. Aspect is also specifically related to the Black Garden and Sol Divisive. Not only that, but Aspect deals with, among other things, the fate of the Ishtar scientists and their copies in the Vex Network, and primarily uses Chioma as their main viewpoint, and the whole situation with Neomuna and Veil Logs has returned my interest in this lore book.

I feel like it isn't a coincidence that we've spent essentially the entire year reacquainting ourselves with Chioma and Maya and Ishtar as a whole only to bring back Sol Divisive and the Black Garden back in the final season in this way. As the Veil Logs told us, one of Maya's copies interfered with one of the logs, sending signals, and Chioma, at the end of her life, contacted the Vex presumably to be consumed by the network so she could possibly reunite with one of the copies of Maya in there.

This brought me also to the mysterious signal from Scatter Signal lore tab in which Osiris tracks down some sort of a signal that seems to be talking about the Vex, but spoken in a strange way. So I began thinking that this signal might be coming from Chioma, consumed by the Vex, from the Vex Network, reaching out to the man who's been studying her, living in Neomuna and researching the Veil for months. Specifically, the final Veil Log mentioned a few similar words and phrases being repeated. Specifically, when Osiris mentions that Chioma was researching "the entaglement of Light and Dark" and when Nimbus and Osiris discuss "parallel connections and parallel energy fields;" then in the Scatter Signal message there's mention of how, presumably, the Vex are trying to "move from parallel to entanglement." The Veil Log also talks about how the Witness can communicate through our Ghosts and how that connection might be going both ways; Scatter Signal also mentions "bridging communion with a Voice."

Copies of Chioma and the other scientists (with the help of Praedyth) once tried to use the Black Garden to send a message out of the Vex Network, detailed in Aspect. We don't know if they succeeded (at least in our current timeline). The Black Garden has been a big focus in Lightfall almost out of nowhere in such an immensely world-changing way (with the explanation of the Black Heart), and it will still be important this season with the exotic mission. It's a very pleasing loop of the story; everything started with the Black Garden in D1 and everything just before TFS might end with it. I'm also incredibly intrigued by the fact that the returning weapons from Undying (a season about the Sol Divisive and the Black Garden) have returned with a new perk called nano-munitions: very Neomuna-sounding name. Perhaps certain Ishtar scientists are influencing the Vex or extending a helping hand to us.

The questions that remain: how does this tie back to the Ahamkara? Why are the Vex interested in the Ahamkara? What do the Ahamkara have to do with the Black Garden? What's with all the strange language terminology that deals with double meanings and ways to confuse? Is it just regular Ahamkara shenanigans to trick us? To trick the Vex? Maybe both?

The point is, I don't think this is as simple as Riven just being sad that all the Ahamkara are dead and wanting to secure her clutch. Nothing is ever simple with the Ahamkara and nothing is ever simple with the Vex; and now we're dealing with both. And somewhere in all of this, there is also a concerning involvement of the Black Garden that connects to both of these elements. At the end of it all, there's us, who rely on this specific combination of elements to get through the portal, pursue the Witness and save the universe.

Spreading the brain worms to the rest of y'all to think about. If you spot any other mission names, feel free to share, though I think that if they happen, they might happen in the coming weeks. Also as I mentioned before, I know there's been leaks and lore tabs unlocking early on Ishtar: I've not seen any leaks or cutscenes and have not read any lore tabs that aren't explicitly visible in-game so if there's a really simple answer in that leaked material, I don't know about it and don't want to know about it so please don't spoil to me or to others!

if i had the power to make any show real, i would make a film-length crossover where the leverage crew is doing a very involved con in new york and the NYPD (gregson and bell working with joan and sherlock from elementary) and the FBI (peter burke working with neal caffrey from white collar) have to team up to solve the case. halfway through, the consultants all agree that the leverage crew is in the right here and they have to figure out how to seem like they're solving the case without actually solving the case. various groups get to talk about their interests - diana and hardison talk hacking, neal and elizabeth talk food with elliot, parker and sherlock talk lock-picking.

killer would have no disregard for what he bets. he plays unpredictably and sneakily. probably faking some emotion here and there to get the hasty (horror) confused and concerned about what he could do and then it turns out killer had a fucking ass hand yet he won??? dust is a dirty player he is a fucking CHEATER‼️‼️‼️ phantom paps are his eyes that he uses to spy on killer and horror's hands. would he need to even try anymore at that point when he could easily win every round? well yes because that wouldn't be a fun game and dust wants to have as much fun as he can in this game of lies. he pretends he doesn't know what horror and killer's hands are. they both know. theyre both more than aware of dust's cheating. and that's why their betting starts going against him specifically and then dust has to figure out how to bet them higher while also trying not to fuck himself over

horror's main thing is just to not get fucked over. goddamnit why did he agree to this he's not as open to getting hurt than dust or killer are!!! (but you still agreed anyways?) so he thinks he's the only one to have a real reason to win (because horror no wanna get hurty hurty owww owww painpainpain ouch!!!) maybe he gets too cocky and ends up betting too high because dust or killer had been losing and he wanted to take a chance. maybe that high bet was actually what got him to win?? it's all a game of chance of course and horror'll only show what he thinks after the round's done. when the cards are dealt and the stakes are up he'll just analyze the hell out of the two (don't YOU hate being analyzed??) and tap his fingers on the table over and over

their way of betting would be like: the winner gets to do whatever the other two said as their bets to the betters. like if dust loses and horror wins and he said he could get sucker punched horror is sucker punching the FUCK out of him. but these three argue they fight and bicker and throw gibes and taunts!!! how would they ever agree on what bets are higher and which are lower ⁉️⁉️⁉️ to horror a bet of saying that he'd have to eat something could be like straight hell to him but killer and dust could just put the argument that it doesn't REALLY mean that much (they know it does to horror) and then force him to bet higher because cmon coward you can do better than that!!! dont you want to get some sort of revenge on us if you lose a previous round and win this one??? and other forms of logic like that 4 dust and killer

You create a little profile with pictures of yourself and your interests and whatever else people usually have on a dating app profile and you swipe through other people's profiles and if you match you get to talk to each other

Presumably you go out on a few hang outs, get to know you activities, whatever, and then you become friends

If one of you catches romantic feelings for the person AFTER you've become friends, there's a little button on matched profiles to signify romantic interest

The other person does not get notified when you toggle the romantic interest button UNLESS they have also toggled the romantic interest button

You have the option to toggle the romantic interest button on matched profiles on and off at any given point in time and you'll never know how many times the romantic interest button has been switched on or off, or even that the switch was toggled at all, unless BOTH people currently have the romantic interest switch toggled on at the same time

Therefore demi people who are freaked out at the idea of going into a dating app looking for someone to date have the opportunity to just make friends, and there's no pressure or fear of ruining a friendship made through the app, because you can "confess" without actually confessing, because your confession never goes through unless it's mutual

I've been thinking about this post and how it posits that people design themselves in their DnD characters as a form of vulnerability by inadvertently revealing the things they themselves struggle most with in assigning them as traits of their characters,

and that got me thinking about the fact that we know Eddie loves DnD, but we've only ever seen him as the DM,

and then I started wondering —

because we meet Eddie when he's already a threepeat senior,

he's well established into living with Wayne and having no contact with his father,

he's labeled the town freak and people think he's "mean and scary" when he's probably the most caring person in Hawkins

— what if he stopped participating in campaigns and started designing them instead so that he could have a sense of control over at least one thing in his life?

he can't control that school officials take his defiance of status quo as acts of rebellion worthy of punishment just like he can't control the fact that he clearly learns and/or processes differently and therefore struggles to pass classes that are a breeze for everyone else (because he's clearly not stupid! his brain just works differently!),

he can't control the fact that Al Munson is a piece of shit who doesn't care about anyone but himself,

and he can't control the way others perceive him without putting in any effort to learn a single damn thing about him.

but — Friday nights in a darkened classroom at a table filled with the few of his peers who don't look at him and see all of those things?

he can write the story.

he can decide the multitude of ways the journey will go, from beginnings to middles to ends.

he can, for once in his life, feel like he's in control.
