i have no one to talk to about this

i am not caught up on the recent episodes of love island. i just got done finishing the one where (SPOILER FOR EPISODE 18 IN BOLD RED) jeremiah gets dumped from the island.

maybe my tiktok fyp is an echo chamber, but i could’ve sworn that we all agreed that ace, nic and taylor are a trio that definitely excluded jeremiah, or had it out for him (specifically ace and nic) ‘cause they saw him as a threat, and that SPECIFICALLY THE PORTABLE-EDITION-OF-A-HUMAN AND NIC NEEDED TO BE OUT OF THAT DAMN VILLA, no? and i’m unsure of what happened in the recent episode, but i did get spoiled on tiktok by my fyp saying something about ‘nic and olandria stans are winning’, which tells me enough.

here’s my MAIN take: i believe that the uk love island audience are much better than the usa audience.

i don’t say this bc i’m british myself, but bc i’d been watching love island long before the show arrived and extended its participants to US citizens, and the best example i can compare this year’s USA contestants to are the contestants of uk love island 2019 (aka love island’s best run imo).

british citizens were not major fans of amber’s relationship with the white guy at the end (forgot his name, mb 😭) but because we all agreed that we hated michael for the way he behaved and how he acted towards amber, and that he needed to leave the villa entirely, we voted as a collective to make sure that she won.

and she did.

uncaring of who michael’s partner was (and not just him, but danny, jordan and anton too) we got rid of them from the villa and made it so that amber (and not just her, but india, molly-mae and maura too) made it to the finals — fan favourites, and not just any fan favourites, but THESE particular fan favourites, actually made it to the finals, because our votes were done as a collective. we came to an agreement and stuck with it.

this doesn’t seem to be going the same way for the USA, i think.

americans all collectively agreed on tiktok that amaya was their favourite islander, and yet the votes said otherwise, bc she was left vulnerable (alongside two other islanders) despite what seemed to be trending on tiktok.

my MAIN argument here is the nic and olandria thing. i’m gonna take an educated guess and assume that these two have a thing going on, or something along those lines, bc ppl are obsessed with them on tiktok now. together. as a couple.

but… before this, didn’t you all agree that nic was an ace follower and had to leave the villa right after ace? what happened to all the AI videos about him, taylor and ace chanting about ‘daddy ace’? 💀 (those videos ate btw, it’s a shame the voters can’t stick to their word). i remember a post specifically stating how they no longer care who nic and that chibi one are paired up with: get them out of the villa even if it means it’ll be done at the expense of their partners.

and yet… now everyone’s in favour of nic and olandria? bc everyone loves chelly, we’re allowing the 4’2 ringleader to still be seen on my screen the next couple of weeks? 😟

and the votes are never done properly either. wdym you voted iris to be paired with jeremiah when she clearly had a connection elsewhere, just to get rid of huda? 😭 did it work how you wanted? is huda out of the villa like you planned? you literally just gave that travel-size human and his bitches a direct opening into getting rid of his biggest threat to winning that 100k.

AND IT WORKED, BC AMERICAN VOTERS ARE UNABLE TO WORK AS A COLLECTIVE.

and when they do, it’s not for what the vote was actually intended for. they used iris as a weapon to get rid of huda instead of partnering her up with someone she actually liked.

i hope my predictions are wrong, but it looks to me like american voters will abandon everything they once said (about voting the horrendous men off, even if it meant leaving their girls vulnerable) because of the fact that they care about the chemistry they see on-screen. nic and ace have a good chance at making it to the finals, i pray that i’m wrong.

british voters always worked as a collective. i guarantee that if the vote was open to the brits, we’d get the job done and banish that stool-seeker and his minion so quickly.

anyway i’m done. don’t take this to heart, american voters, it’s just me randomly ranting at 3am. i’ll be fine again in the morning (probably). i just need to figure out a way to hack the system and put my own vote in from the dingy streets of london 🙂‍↕️

I don't want to brag or sound too optimistic about it, but after three weeks of training at a private college, I think my lessons with this one particular immigrant student (who has serious motivational problems lemme tell ya) are finally starting to get through and there's been improvement.

Only slight improvement so far but I have spotted some, so maybe not all hope is lost yet.

Remains to be seen I guess.

every now and then throughout my day i’ll just have this intense moment of “STRANGER THINGS SEASON FIVE!!!!” and like. that’s it. it’s just this like. intense wave of general EXCITEMENT like IT’S GONNA BE A THING AND WE’RE GONNA GET TO WATCH IT like that’s SO EXCITING!!! we’re gonna get to see the end of this series and it’s gonna be a big grand finale and it’s gonna fucking rule!!!

Was there a character or characters that inspired you to make this poll?

I could truthfully probably attribute it to a few assorted Science Genius Girls that I've been a fan of throughout my lifetime (a good chunk of which have already been submitted at least once!) but I wouldn't really say there's any one specific character that made me want to make this. I'm generally a very large fan of both glasses girls and shitty cocky arrogant girls, and a good chunk of the middle-ground between those two tropes consists of more traditional Science Genius Girls! So this was really just a whole ton of factors coming together to make this happen.

While I'm sure that wasn't particularly the answer you were looking for, I can give you a different piece of inspiration for the blog! When I was younger I would listen to and make a lot of playlists on 8tracks, and while listening to a playlist for one of my Science Genius Girls (I can't remember which one specifically anymore, sadly) I heard this remix of Freezepop's, well, Science Genius Girl! I immediately put the song on one of my Science Genius Girl/Science Genius Girl playlists. So if anyone was wondering where the URL and title of this blog came from, now you know! I know Science Genius Girl isn't really a widely recognized trope name, but it's always been what I've called fictional girls that fall into this sort of niche in my brain since that day.

i have a question about the server if that’s okay? is it system little friendly? we have a system little who self ships and wants a space to talk about it with people, but the server i’m in with friends currently seem a bit awkward/uncomfortable with it (probably because of how much she acts like her age instead of the body’s age…we’re 24, and she is fully aware of the body’s age and is able to sort of pretend to be an adult irl, but online she refuses to act like an adult because she feels freer to be who she is online. she’s 8.)

she doesn’t want to find online social spaces for kids her age because she’s a system little and the body is much too old for that and as a system little she wouldn’t fit in very well with actual children anyway, so it’s kinda an awkward situation all around

if you can ask members of your server instead of guessing i would also like that? and we will not be offended if the answer ends up being no. i ultimately want a safe and comfortable space for her and not a space where people are pretending or being awkward.
