Im very into lavender these days but not in the woo woo 'this will fix my sleep problems and all other issues' pseudoscience way, it's just that i really love the smell and it's very comforting to me, which i can use a lot of right now so i try to surround myself with it as much as possible 💜

#lavender smells like how it feels to get home after a long day in the cold qnd you get to take off your wet clothes and put on soft pyjamas #and you can just get cozy in your warm bed and novidy expects anything else from you tonight no responsibilities no chores #you get to just be warm and safe and fall asleep #also bubble baths because iwe alsway had this lavender bubble bath when i was a kid and i loved it so much (i always tried to eat the foam #or rather i wanted to eat the smell itself but the closest i could get was the foam... yes it tasted bad) and i still love it a lot #oh also my best friend who ive known since kindergarten would always use this lavender oil (instead of like body lotion) after showers #(bit they changed the bottles a few years back so now they are like half the size which is ridiculous)#(we spent holidays together for years) and they still use it today but i dont get to smell it as much but that also makes me feel nostalgic #anyway lavender is amazing and i wish i could just drink that bubble bath fluid and get that cozy feeling inside of me that way #(im trying to find a tea that has mostly lavender but its not easy. most also have other stuff that i dont like... but ill keep looking!)#oh and i recently bought this lavender shower gel and that is so wonderful for a shower at night!!!#hey if any europeans wanna recommend any good (not suuuuper expensive) lavender products i could check out please tell me #winter is kicking my ass and i need anything i can get to cheer me up and comfort me #alright enough rabling #i just bought a tea i wanna try thats why i was thinking about it #mine

Company whose advent calendar I bought back in fucking August and still don't have: Don't worry, it'll be shipped out this week and we guarantee you'll have it by 1 Dec.

The optimist in me: They still have 18ish hours. There's still time! :)

The pessimist in me: They only have 18 hours before its proven that they're liars. And those 18 hours are a Sat so the chance of them being sent out in the time frame they promised is incredibly unlikely. >:(

The part of me that wants to assume the best of people: This has all been an honest mistake. They really did think that they'd be shipped out at this point and they'll do their best to rectify the situation, like doing faster shipping or something.

The part of me that assumes the worst of people: They just straight up lied to my fucking face, multiple times at this point, and considering it took me four emails and asking to speak to a higher up to get any information out of them, they're definitely lying liars who lie all the time.

#geeky talks #at this point i've mostly moved onto rage with this situation #which isn't the best but i much prefer it to be a sad sack about it #i was so looking forward to this too!#if there were any other decent calendars at this point i'd cancel this one and get a different one #but at this point all the good ones are sold out #and the only thing worse than having to deal with all this and get my calendar late #would be having to deal with this and then having no calendar at all #the company is plouise for anyone wondering #i do not recommend ordering from them which i'm sure is not shocking at this point

HAHAHAHA, I should clarify that I just mean for super hero-y ones. I mostly watch the first one and rarely watch the second (or anything after...... or remakes, lol), I think the only Marvel one I've seen in recent history is Thor: Ragnarok. Actually, the Spider-man franchise pretty much encapsulates how I interact with Marvel properties: I saw the first trilogy because it was new and exciting at the time, then they remade it too fast and I refused to pay for something I just saw, that was so recent in my memory from the release date I could still remember exact scenes from it (THERE WERE ONLY FIVE YEARS BETWEEN SPIDER-MAN 3 AND THE REBOOT - THAT IS NOT ENOUGH TIME FOR ME TO GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THAT AGAIN. HOW IS THAT ENOUGH TIME FOR ANYONE TO GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THAT AGAIN???), then I watched the first Tom Holland one (fourteen years I can vibe with) and nothing that followed because that's generally when the gimmicks and cameos start in lieu of good story-telling, or they make it dark and gritty because that's the only way to ground this superhuman, right (I assume a random white guy: "Should we fridge a lady? Yeah, we should probably fridge a lady"). The first one generally at least tries to have a soul because they have to introduce the character and make you care about them but many of the ones that follow (the few I've seen from when the MCU was just starting out and I had hope *coughs*Iron Man 2, Thor 2, etc.*coughs*) are just cash grabs that don't try because you already love this character and there they are, right there, so money please!

Meg 2 however..... EPIC, NO NOTES. It knows if I was a shark girl, I was probably a dinosaur girl and it gambled correctly. That's what you're watching this for? Have three sharks and an unnecessary (probably stupid expensive) dinosaur intro that is nearly completely irrelevant to the story but that you will also not want to live without and for an extra special bonus: oblivious husbands and their brilliant daughter. Like. You got me nailed, my dude. Will watch every subsequent sequel, no questions asked.

#i do understand that spider-man is a bullshit studio thing #and that it's a marvel property that belongs to sony and i implied everything is under the mcu umbrella #(and i honestly don't fault them for remaking it. instead i just don't understand how there was an audience for it???)#but they're all guilty of the same shit for different but also EXACTLY THE SAME reasons #they want to fleece money from me. because that's how it feels: like i'm being swindled #they're not earning my money through good content but instead through brand recognition and shared cultural touchstones #YOU CAN'T HAVE MY MONEY MOUSE #sony you can when it's miles (that is a sequel i DID watch and that DID have a soul imo) :))))#something similar (cash grabs) are pretty much the exact reason i stopped reading marvel comics too #capitalism ruins everything #for a moral everyone knows *snorts*#also generally the sequels have bigger budgets and just to quote freckle...... sometimes things that are expensive are worse #great things sometimes come from people having to work within constraints and when you aren't given any....... terrible things can happen #like bbc sherlock lolol. #hi friends I'm dying.... doctor did a blood exam on me this morning and I don't think there's any blood left in me anymore #my lunch break is over in few minutes and I think I just became one with a couch so I'm writing this instead of getting up #my previous doctor never took so much blood i never had problems before #also I'm going to hairdresser tomorrow and I feel the urge to do something new with my hair but I suck at this #also I decided not to worry about my calories today and I thought it would feel very liberating but it's just making me nervous #i wanted to treat myself with pastries for breakfast after the doctor and now I regret everything and all i can think about is burning it #on the positive note i think I'm overcoming my fear of doctors slowly i was panicking only a little today #i really really really don't want to get up #i just heard an email notification from my pc and now I want to stay on the couch even more #four more hours and I'm done #I'm sending everyone motivation and I'm getting up #if you have any good music recommendations send me something and I'll listen to it while I work! :))#if you're also looking for a sign to get up and be productive this is it!#we're doing this we're going to make it #we don't have to do anything perfect just get through it #have a wonderful day everyone ❤️

The introductions have been completed with the Brookfield Zoo gorilla troop! I'm so happy they seem to be getting along well. Their habitat is open to the public again now so I'll need to visit soon!

#my health's been a disaster lately but i've an ongoing trend of pushing through it for gorillas gferiwuhdsa #i wonder who they plan for him to have children with #i'm pretty certain kamba and nora will have breeding recommendations with him #possibly ali as well though she's only 4 right now so it will be a while before she has kids #binti i think was already done having kids as her own choice #koola's the one i'm most curious about #especially because jontu is actually cousins with.... binti i believe #and i don't know what level of separation is required before breeding recommendations would be allowed #so koola might be too closely related but at the same time #she's been the highest ranking female of the troop for years #and actively maintains and defends her position #and it would be harder to keep that position if she doesn't have any kids with the current silverback #it's gonna be really interesting to see how things develop in this troop #bet you didn't know there was so much going on in the world of gorillas huh?#gfeyidhusa #statcat gorilla blogging #statcat zoo blogging #statcat original posts
