Peregrine Seas by R.C. Ballad (1st)
Prince Peregrine couldn’t be happier to be kidnapped by pirates.
Peregrine wasn’t cut out for the restrictive life of a nobleman – he’s hungry for adventure, prone to duelling, and his family refuse to believe he’s any kind of man at all. Despite his royal origins, he has more in common with the outcasts and rebels aboard the Cygnus that anyone onshore.

Only Lovers Left Alive (2013)
Jim Jarmusch takes the old vampire folk lore and makes it into his own style movie as this fascinating film finds its way pretty high up on my list. Adam and Eve are two vampires living in modern human elements (in this case, the city of Detroit). They are both recluse, waking up every morning at 11pm and only talk to their own kind. The only exceptions to their circle is the human being Ian played by the late Anton Yelchin as he further complicates matter as Eve's sister Ava falls in love with him, and then some. The other human is Dr. Watson played by Jeffrey Wright who works with Adam, where their chemistry plays out like a dry comedy. This is really smart movie and I simply love how Jarmusch pulls off vampires living in a real world of America's ghetto and poverty while never losing it's edge. The ending is fitting even by playing it safe.
