Ok, I am saying this as a Wikipedia editor who has created dozens of articles with 20k+ views: do NOT use Wikipedia as a source for anything political. ESPECIALLY if Jews are involved (literally just read the article for Albert Einstein to understand why). There is obviously no genocide in Palestine, although Hamas wishes there was (see, Hamas Covenant). Although Wikipedia can be reliable for certain things, politics is not one of them.

Can we talk about how concerning this is. This is just one of this "donation" posts. How many more of them are going to start sounding like this. How many more are going to start spreading dangerous antisemitism this way.
And the people who reblog with a single thought sharing it to who knows how many people and then they share it to their followers and it spreads and spreads.
Does no one even read these things. When people ask for help they tend to define the amount of money they need and not just "I need an amount of money".
But it the "Zionist Occupation" and "The Jews" parts that I find the most worrying and concerning.

My family has been full of strife and misery ever since I told them that I am converting to Judaism, and away from our Catholic background.
But my youngest brother approached me yesterday, and said “I want to let you know- your Christmas and Hanukkah presents are the same. Not because I don’t support you, but because I’m cheap.”
And that’s all I’m asking for, really.

oh btw just so y’all know there’s a big difference between Jewish antizionism and goyisch antizionism
Because even if I don’t agree with you there’s a big difference between saying
“we should remain in diaspora/not exercise our right to self determination/israel is detrimental to us”
and saying “they should remain in diaspora/not exercise their right to self determination/israel is detrimental to them”

I'm really sick of hearing the term "bothsidesism." Like do you mean ... empathy? 😭 Very, very few things are black and white. Very, very few things are definitively "good" or "bad." You know the saying about relationships that says "it's you and me vs. the problem, not you vs. me"? That is how we should be approaching these issues. I can't believe I even have to say that, it should be common sense.
If I think I'm absolutely and unequivocally right and you think you're absolutely and unequivocally right, and neither party is willing to compromise, we won't get anywhere, will we? Seriously, why we are acting like petulant first graders? Where is our reason? Our rationality? If we really want peace, it requires cooperation, even if it's through gritted teeth.

forever thinking about that part in people love dead jews about how it's a myth that the workers on ellis island forcibly changed people's last names and most jews just petitioned in court to have their names changed because of all the antisemitism that came with being identifiably jewish.
specifically, i'm thinking of this one guy called louis goldstein who was talking about how his name is a curse and it's impossible to live a good life in the united states while being called louis goldstein, except the judge was also called louis goldstein and was like "hey excuse you what the fuck"
#louis goldstein on louis goldstein violence#there was genuinely a ton of housing and employment discrimination#so having what people could identify as a jewish name did (and for many still does) make life harder#the section is mainly a reflection on why this has gone down in the historical memory as name changes being imposed#but the louis goldsteins live rent free in my head#antisemitism#jewish history#people love dead jews#jumblr

there is a very cruel irony that, at the same time as people progress a blood libel against jews—that our self-determination is just an excuse to murder children—people are appropriating the figure in jewish tradition that represents infant mortality—a demon that exists to murder children—as a figure of female empowerment & individualistic self-determination

Yeah. It would be one thing if Christians learned to separate their personal beliefs from the concept of Christianity, but a lot of them don't. A lot of them want to believe that their religion is innately good, despite the evil that has been done by Christians and Christian institutions in the name of Christ.
There is no empirical Christianity, no substance you can observe or measure. There is also no Platonic Christianity, some unchanging concept in the Realm of Forms of which all Christians are a pale imitation. There are Christian institutions and the actions of individual Christians. That's Christianity.
Some of those Christians are nice people, and some of their institutions are charities. But some Christians are bad people, and most of their institutions have a history of hurting people to consolidate their power and/or enrich their leaders. Or just to hurt their enemies.
You can't draw a line between those two. Almost any argument that lets you discredit the harm done by the Catholic Church also discredits the good done by the Catholic Church. Likewise for any Christian denomination, any Christian institution, any Christian individual.
The only way to avoid this is to define Christianity as tautologically good, or good as tautologically Christian. The latter is blatantly abhorrent, but the former is still annoying.
Love seeing something from TikTok and going “girlie that is literally what led to the downfall of the Papal States”

Ok gotta talk about it.
As a Jewish historian, I fucking hate Israel in ways most probably will never be able to comprehend. I'm going to try and explain it anyways. The central creation myth of Israel is that it is Jewish, and then consequently, that Israel is a part of Jewishness. Its easy to simply state this is false, but fully comprehending this and putting it into practice in thought and deed seems rare to me.
The evil at the heart of this violence predates the recent acceleration of genocide. Israel is a colony, and more than that, an antisemitic fraud itself. After WW2, when Israel was being founded, the Jews of Europe generally did not wave goodbye to their neighbors and head to the promised land. Many were expelled from their homes. Zionism itself, as an action, was a false choice at the time. A mere excuse to place an ally in the middle east, and an excuse to complete the expulsion and destruction of the European Jew. The Zionist Jew is more than complicit in this, they actively seek the destruction and assimilation of all other Jews.
Many fail to realize, and largely because of Israel, that Jews are not inherently white, Ashkenazi, European-descended people. Our faith and culture has an immense variety that is spread all across the globe. Jewishness, in population and volume of culture, exists more so outside of Israel than within it. Israel is for a very specific kind of Jew. The kind that lets Yiddish die, that attaches themselves to European things, that makes themselves and their practices as white as possible.
And they have the nerve, the fucking belligerent GALL, to frame themselves as the necessary saviors of our people. To the Zionist, questioning Israel is to question Jewishness itself. They bake adoration for the colonial machine into their very prayers, and push them on us even as children. To *not* oppress, to *not* kill, to *not* genocide, is to invite death. This is the core of fascistic thought, of course. "Kill them before they kill us." And they KNOW this too, they really do. The truth of that irony does not matter, because as is true for all fascists, the truth itself does not matter to them. They wanted this, they wanted this even before the British saw it in their best interest to give them the land. Any excuse to RETVRN, as the neo-nazis say of Rome, or the German Empire, or whatever the fuck stupid country they want to poorly animate the corpse of. Some select Zionists even *sided with the fucking Nazis* in agreement they should abandon Europe to colonize Palestine. (Haavara Agreement)
My people have proved time and time and time again you don't need a nation state to have an enduring culture. We have protected ourselves for thousands of years without the help of these spiteful, doom-saying maniacs. I was going to post something like this on Passover, but that would be hypocritical. The state of Israel doesn't actually have shit to do with Jewishness. Hear Israel (the state and supporters, Israel the icon) I should outlive it long enough to bury it. (old yiddish curse)
Free Palestine. Donate what you can, they need it right now.

Also, (actual historian speaking) the money lending thing was because the church banned 'Usary' (The charging of interest on loans) so Jews, due to being exempt from this (not being Christians) were able to make money by lending money to other people, plus the insular nature of Jewish society (because of the suspicion/ threat posed by their non Jewish neighbours) allowed more extensive networking (across widespread geographic areas) which facilitated banking procedures and therefore allowed Jewish people to specialise and establish themselves in trades with high start up costs such as working precious metals and or jewels.
Fun fact: the anti-Semitic stereotypes about Jews having lots of money/being greedy/cheap began in the Middle Ages thanks to Christian laws.
The Christian church began forbidding Christians from having professions that involved lending money, banking, or pawn work. It was because the church believed that money was ultimately unclean so although it was considered a necessity, Christians were instructed to deal with it as little as possible.
But someone still needed to run all of those money-based businesses. So these societies which were already run by Christian leadership basically made it a rule that these businesses had to be run by Jews since they were already “unclean”. Furthermore, due to other restrictions on Jewish people in these areas, these money-based positions were pretty much some of the only jobs Jews could legally hold.
This eventually led to numerous stereotypes involving Jews and money. And the acidity of these stereotypes grew when Christian people and leaders became resentful of the livelihood Jews were able to achieve for themselves with these jobs.
So to sum up: Christian society forces Jews to hold down money-centered jobs since, according to the church, Jews were already going to Hell. Then, once they made lives with these roles they were forced into, Jews were mocked and hated for being successful.
