Ranked from most hate to least hate:

Klaroline - has almost everything I don't like about Spuffy, but in a worse show.

Spuffy - baffling origin, terrible in terms of how it became canon, makes no sense, and the fans annoy me

Delena - Because they don't really seem to like Elena much, mostly seems like they just want Damon.

Stelena - because they're more likely to be super nasty towards Steroline shippers than Klaroline ones, from my limited experience

Bangel - Most of the time I just... don't like it. Doesn't usually make me as frustrated to see it. Easier to dismiss, narratively too.

Xanya - Not so much out of less hate for this, just more hate for the others

Fresley - I don't even really hate this one so much as not like.

Elena Gilbert stops being boring the moment you stop viewing tvd as romance and start viewing it as a gothic horror of an underage girl groomed into an incestous love triangle between two serial killing brothers.

Her parents are dead and she only finds comfort in graveyards, her thoughts are filled with death. Then she meets these guys who CANNOT DIE and she even canonically says that's what drew her to Stefan (and let's be honest it's exactly the same with Damon). These older men want to protect her and they desire her obsessively and they form a weird, weird little family dynamic where Elena is constantly treated like a child. Elena latches onto these guys who don't only fill the role of boyfriends but also the role of parents. How she acceps the role as daughter/lover/victim of the Salvatore brothers could be fascinating if the narrative acknowledged it for what it is - horror.

People always love to throw out the line that Damon says, "I'm fine with her either way" after Stefan says he doesn't want Elena to be a vampire as if this somehow proves that Stefan never loved Elena as a vampire and Damon loved her either way.

Actions speak louder than words people! Stefan bent over backwards to get the cure and gave it to Elena and told her the choice of being a vampire would always be hers. Damon got the cure and hid it from her.

I just think it's a baseless argument tbh

I honestly don't understand people who claim to hate Julie Plec but then bring her into everything to prove their arguments correct.

This is the same woman who bullied and treated Kat Graham like hell solely for being black, who is constantly promoting abuse and rape without acknowledging it, a woman who lies through her teeth and continously berates people who aren't white just because she can (who made her main black character stay in Africa completely alone, by the way, while everyone else had love interests or children). This fandom is all about acting like she doesn't exist and hating her (rightfully so) until it comes to their ships.

Why are you acting like the word of a racist should matter? Stop bringing up her corny twitter quotes to defend your abusive ship, because it's embarrassing to see.

Stefan: wants revenge on Klaus for the shit he pulled on him, even going as far as to almost drive the love of his life off of Wickery Bridge. Knowing that that her parents almost died and where she almost died.

Fandom: Stefan has every right to hate Klaus!!! He didn’t actually do it!!! His humanity was off (it was on and yes he was dealing with the guilt and pain, but I’m not gonna go dismiss my baby girl’s trauma either).

Tyler: wants revenge on Klaus for killing him, forcing him into becoming a hybrid, making him into his slave, forced him to bite his gf, killed his mother (aka his last living family member) because Tyler dared to save innocent hybrids from being sired, killed his pack, and drove him out of his hometown. Tearfully leaves because while he loves Caroline, he doesn’t want to live under a psychopath’s thumb and wants justice. Keep in mind that he didn’t abuse Caroline in the process unlike something a certain Salvatore brother did to the love of his life.

Fandom: T-Tyler is such a dick! He chose revenge over Caroline! He hates Klaus more than he loves Caroline! How dare he not grieve the way his girlfriend wanted him to! Klaus/Stefan would never!

and Damon goes and cries in a corner somewhere. fuck him.

Rewatcing TVD season 5 and I'm on 5x04 where Stefan has his memory loss and I'm having a lot of Steroline thoughts so I'mma just dump 'em all here.

So first thing that happens is drunk Stefan calls Caroline hot when he first sees her, establishing that he does find her attractive on a baseline level. Meaning, he probably would've noticed her when he came to Mystic Falls if he wasn't so distracted by having found a doppelgänger of the girl that turned him into a vampire.

Then there's the difference between how Elena and Caroline handle amnesia!Stefan's bloodlust. Elena, in classic her-fashion, makes it all about herself. You were a great boyfriend to me. You never scared me. So, naturally, when he tries to kiss her and she tells him she's with his brother now, he feels betrayed and runs off. Elena tried to get him to remember by recreating how they met, she distracts him from his bloodlust by telling him all about their relationship. It works temporarily, but this makes it so that Stefan ties his control to being around Elena ("Whatever monster I was capable of being, I could see why I was different around you.") so when he finds out about her and Damon, his control goes down with their relationship.

But when Caroline sees him feeding on Jessie, she tells him, "This isn't you. Okay, you might not remember, but I do. You are better than this! You are not this person." Not only does she solely tie it to who Stefan is as a person, but as a byproduct, she informs Stefan that he has other people who care about him besides his ex and brother. It's no wonder she's the only one he trusts after that. And then she and Stefan agree on a plan for her to call him every hour to check in, because Caroline prioritises making sure Stefan's okay before making sure that he remembers. ("I don't want my brother's advice. I don't wanna hear how I supported you, Elena. [...] Don't worry, I'm not gonna go on a ripper binge. Besides, Caroline said she'd call me every hour to make sure I was okay, and, uh... I actually do trust her.")

And then there's the scene in the Salvatore Tomb before Bonnie's funeral where Stefan comforts Caroline. It's in my, like, top 10 scenes of theirs at least. ("Me. You have me. Look, you were there for me last night. Sounds like you're always there for me. So let me be there for you.") Elena told him that he always showed her and others compassion, but that doesn't do much when she disrespected him by lying by omission about their history and the fact that she left him for his brother. Caroline tells him that he's a compassionate person and then backs it up by showing him compassion. So when Stefan sees her hurting, he wants to return that. He puts his own worries aside for the time being, asks her what's wrong, says he wishes he could remember Bonnie, offers physical comfort and tells her he'll still be there for her despite him not remembering their friendship, because he sees how much she does for him and others and he knows she deserves it.

If you've read ACOTAR and are active in the fandom, I swear the ship war is veeery familiar to TVD 😂

You've got the "destined" pairing where people want them together because they're fated to be = Stelena / Elucien (of course, Elena actually liked Stefan whereas Elain does NOT like Lucien. AT ALL.)

The one where it doesn't even make sense but people ship it because they read waaaay too much into interactions that aren't even romantic, and somehow keeps coming up with headcanons that are already canon scenes for another ship? = Bamon / Gwynriel

The one that clearly has insane chemistry, and is all "fuck destiny", has many romantic and friendship moments, everyone around them can clearly see SOMETHING between them, to the point that even Stefan/Lucien can tell and it makes them uncomfy because they have to acknowledge that there is something there, they're touch her/him and you die/saved each other, hands them something they wouldn't trust with anyone else, spouts goddamn poetry to the other, etc. etc. = Delena / Elriel

And guess which TVD couple was endgame? 🤭

You have fans who also can't spell Gwyn's name, just like TVD fans.

Stefan = Stephan/Steven

Damon = Demon 💀 (this could be intentional but considering they can't spell Stefan or Elena's names either, I'm not sure.)

Elena = Elaine/Elain

People claiming if you don't like Gwyn it's because you're a victim blamer/haven't been SA'd (WHAT THE FUCK BTW) 😐/people claiming if you don't like Bonnie, you're racist.

Sadly, there may be a few that are, but to blanket statement a whole group of people of something horrible/disgusting because they simply don't like a character is wild.

The fandom bullshit will always happen. Sad.

That being said, the only difference for me personally, is that I actually don't care for Gwyn at all, Bonnie was great. Was she my fave? No. Did I dislike her? No. I wanted her to get her happy ending too.

Gwyn? I forgot she existed after I read ACOSF, if she never appeared again, I would not care.

So i just seen a tiktok about Elena's necklace and of course the comments were filled with people arguing over it being a delena/stelena thing. And it just flared up this visceral rage I have for the amount of Retconning the show did when it comes to Stelena/Delena.

Like oh Stefan met her first, no wait Damond did. Oh 3x01 had an epic Stelena scene were see how strong their love is? Syke, this is where she fell in love with Damon. Not to mention all the constant "oh please look at what poor Damon went through, he just needs to be loved" crap.

And the whole doppleganger prophecy thing when it came to Stefan and Elena was really them trying to say "but look stelena wasn't real".

And i get Damons back story, i really do but it was obviously just shoe horned in at the last minute to make him look like a less shitty brother and not like stefan was doing all the heavy lifting in that relationship, which he obviously had been.

Even if I shipped DE them I would still be mad. Like why not give them their own symbol instead of a necklace Stefan gave to her? And what difference did her meeting him first make, like at all? She didnt even know him then.

Anyway it all just comes across as very lazy writing to me. Like they actually didn't actually know how to build up Delena so they just focused on tearing down Stelena.

the stelena break up in season 4 is so out of nowhere, they were doing kind of fine and stefan just randomly decides to break with her like what ??? its so obvious that they wanted to move foward with delena. that fight that they had about her killing the vampire hunter was so stupid too, even if she was a vampire elena would never shut off stefan like that. anyways i hate season 4's storyline about the sirebond and the stelena/delena love triangle, love the cure, silas and bonnie with expression tho
