It's not just for accuracy's sake that I argue that Darcy isn't shy or painfully socially awkward, it's because it changes the story and makes it worse. Elizabeth telling Darcy to practice talking to people becomes an extrovert demanding that an introvert just get better at masking or some B.S.. But Elizabeth can in fact identify shy people and she's exceedingly nice to them:
With astonishment did Elizabeth see that her new acquaintance was at least as much embarrassed as herself. Since her being at Lambton, she had heard that Miss Darcy was exceedingly proud; but the observation of a very few minutes convinced her that she was only exceedingly shy. She found it difficult to obtain even a word from her beyond a monosyllable... her manners were perfectly unassuming and gentle. Elizabeth, who had expected to find in her as acute and unembarrassed an observer as ever Mr. Darcy had been, was much relieved by discerning such different feelings.
Georgiana’s reception of them was very civil, but attended with all that embarrassment which, though proceeding from shyness and the fear of doing wrong, would easily give to those who felt themselves inferior the belief of her being proud and reserved. Mrs. Gardiner and her niece, however, did her justice, and pitied her.
Elizabeth meets Georgiana and is like, "Nope, nothing like her brother, this girl is super shy." The descriptions are very different too, Georgiana's manners are "gentle" while Darcy's "though well bred, were not inviting". Now is Elizabeth better at reading females than men? Absolutely. But this is an Elizabeth who knows herself better and, more importantly, understands Darcy, and she is like, "Wow, these siblings are super different. One of them will just stare at me without being nervous and the other can barely talk while visiting a party of three even though she's socially superior."
Georgiana and Fitzwilliam Darcy are not the same and one of them shy.

How do I tell Annabeth haters that they’re not being more feminist for hating Annabeth instead of Rachel? Why do we always gotta hate someone? Can these two girls just exist and not be blamed for shit.
Because first it was “Rachel is getting in the way of Percabeth so she’s a bitch”
But now it’s “Annabeth was so mean to Rachel she had so much internalized misogyny”
Like why did y’all switch up??
I mean good for Rachel but like bad for society this just set us back because wtf
If you can’t blame one you have to blame the other? Honestly they think they’re being such a girls girl for that but it’s just getting worse. God forbid a girl has a crush on an attractive guy and god forbid the other girl who has severe trauma revolving anandonment hates her for it.

One of the worst parts about unprincipled Western "environmentalism" is how it often dovetails with outright anti-intellectual and Luddite fearmongering about technology and development, which is how you get shit like people freaking out about GMOs mutating them or "unpronouncable ingredients" or treating "buying local" as some sort of talismanically good way of consumption. It's actually cool we have electricity and centralized production and drought-resistant crops and shit, what's not cool is the commodification and unsustainable growth of those things under capitalism and their unequal division between the imperial core and periphery.

The entire Fandom needs to listen to this:
Percy having a thing for Rachel was so absolutely deserved like he should have been head over heels for her. Here's why?
First meeting? Runs her through with Riptide, and where anyone would have spent the whole time yelling and arguing, Rachel quickly gauged the situation, helped Percy hide, deviated the skeletons from their orignal path all at the same time.
Percy is so awed and he should be and Rick Riordan doesn't do justice to the whole thing.
It ends on Percy saying he owes her one, almost an indication that they would meet again.
Yet Percy is terrified of running into Rachel again because he isn't sure if he could answer all her questions, most definitely because he doesn't want to drag her into the whole thing. So much so that when he sees her at Goode, he calls her "my redheaded nightmare " .
Not only has he thought of her since they last met, but he may or may not have dreamed about her, not to mention he remembered her full name after listening just once.
When he does meet her again she yet again warns him about monsters hence saving both of them.
The most important thing is Percy, who all his life has been judged blamed ridiculed, and mocked is for the very first time understood so instantaneously by Rachel. She who has been put in mortal danger every single time she meets him doesn't blame him, doesn't judge him for it, and openly takes the blame for the burning school. Even Annabeth's first response to seeing the smoke is blaming Percy despite being around him and knowing well enough for 3 years; she chooses to blame him as if she doesn't know that it's never Percy's fault. Yet Rachel, someone who he has met only twice and that too for meager few minutes, understands him and his situation so well.
All the people in the Fandom ask yourself this: Will Percy Jackson not for all that he is be absolutely head over heels and in awe of someone like that?
He can barely give her any answers at the moment, but she agrees to a death quest to help him save the world.
Throws a literal hairbrush at the Titan King and stands her ground.
Stays by him and comforts him through his depressive thoughts about dying due to the prophecy.
Falls in love with him despite knowing he has little time left.
Does her best to help him while still keeping his mind off from spiraling into dark thoughts.
Rides a literal helicopter mid-apocalypse to get to him just to warn him of the dangers?
Percy would be so absolutely over the moon in love with Rachel, were Uncle Rick not so fixated on Percabeth agenda.
The last bit is for toxic Annabeth stans:
Rachel is a genius too.
She is ambidextrous and can draw with both hands and legs; probably has exceptional memory, and her composure and quick thinking are on par with Percy himself.
I hate bringing this to looks, but I will if I get to shut up toxic fans. Annabeth is certainly beautiful, and her grey eyes are quite unique, but Rachel is the most underrated and definitely the most beautiful out of all Percy Jackson females.
The woman literally won genetic lottery with red hair and green eyes, and the only reason Uncle Rick doesn't rave about her beauty is to not make Annabeth insecure.
Also, for those overly concerned about the Oracle celibacy thing, I will address that in my next post and how it's not a problem at all. (Now posted link is here:
Expect more Pjo-centric posts along with Perachel headcanons and more.

Percy really could have dated a rich, pretty, fun, artistic girl who he feels comfortable with or the son of one of the greatest gods who is kind, smart and probably the strongest demigod of this era + sees him as the greatest thing since sliced brad, and yet he decided to date a girl who hits him, insults him and thinks he is an idiot huh?

Not gonna lie, it’s amusing when fans these days appear so surprised about Rick writing for money first, and everything else second; in hindsight it’s been this way since PJO. I mean, we’re talking about the same man who:
• Used the Second World War as a plot point.
• Didn't bother to do basic research on Greek mythology
-resorting to modern cliches
(Demeter being an overbearing mother, Ares being a jerk, Persephone being nothing more than a “UwU soft flower queen”)
-blatantly twisting personalities in the name of ‘creative license’: (Poseidon being sanitised, Calypso being sanitised, Artemis being a predatory misandrist etc)
-misinterpretations (Hades being an ‘outcast’ among gods - I am not talking about the Greek people thought of him)
● Chose convenience over genuinely good character-writing:
Characters like Bianca, Thalia and Rachel were shelved.
Grover's role was relegated to major supporting character.
The side cast was heavily underutilized and underdeveloped.
The main characters, Percy and Annabeth received the brunt too. They could've received bona fide character arcs and development, their personalities could've been fleshed out a lot better (especially fatal flaws), and their relationships with other characters deserved more spotlight. Yet, they ended up in a tragic pitfall of YA fiction trites.
There are many more issues with PJO (including ableist and racist undertones), but I think this will suffice. Point is, quality-writing was never really Rick’s priority.

it's funny seeing "i think bucktommy shippers should learn media literacy" from people that i used to ship buddie next to...
i was a hardcore buddie monoshipper for over 2 years. i looked into every single scene. i believed in the couch theory, the color theory. i read into every single interview for hidden meaning. i looked at oliver stark's social media habits. and what did it get me? besides being extremely, irrationally mad at the end of s6.
so me, now enjoying a canon ship (that just so happens to only include 1/2 of my original ship) that is a positive, queer, romantic relationship and finding something special in them, is not having media literacy? i can write an essay on bucktommy and their story and their potential tbh. invisible string!
also, apparently, we've been misreading oliver's interviews... man has never confirmed a single thing in an interview in his life. as a past buddie shipper, i'd know. lol so how am i reading his interviews wrong NOW??? by simply taking them more at face value than i ever did?
i don't know. i just don't understand.
i'm not telling anyone not to have any whimsy about shipping buddie. buddie's dynamic is amazing and beautiful and still one of my favorite relationships on the show. they are still one of the most important relationships on the show in canon. ship them! but don't tell other shippers who are shipping a canon relationship that we're being 'delusional' or not understanding what we're watching.

Annabeth: -and that's why I was so mean to you and Rachel. I have abandonment issues. But now since you're my boyfriend and Rachel has her Oracle chastity vows, it's no longer a problem!
Percy: But you didn't act out like that to Mr. D and Tantalus when Chiron - your father figure - was forced to leave in SoM? You didn't act out like that to Artemis or the hunters when Thalia left you for the hunt? You don't act out when Grover - your oldest friend - leaves for months at a time with no contact?
Annabeth:
Percy:
Annabeth: Alright fine. It was jealously and possessiveness! Can we move on? It doesn't matter, you're mine.
Percy: It matters! She didnt deserve that and neither did I! I'm my own person, I'm allowed to have friends that aren't you!
