Currently I’m pretty much exclusively a 9-1-1 writer, but in the past I wrote a lot of Flarrowverse (do they still call it that?). I also have published fics for Fantastic Beasts and a few anime (Given, Haikyuu, Saiki K). Given the number of Bnha wips i have locked away in the vault it’s amazing I don’t have anything published for that.

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

This probably has to be The Crimes of Queenie Goldstein, in which Queenie is put on trial for her actions during the war. Don’t @ me but Queenie turning traitor was bu far the most interesting part of the Crimes of Grindelwald (the only interesting thing, really). There could be such an interesting story between her and Tina if only JKR would let the movies out of her grasp.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Fuck, idk if I have a happiest ending fic, a lot of them tend to not have that much story arc. (A lot of established relationship fluff or smut lmao). I guess if I had to pick one it would probably be How Eddie Learned To Stop Worrying and Embrace The Kitten Life.

Do you get hate on fics?

Not since that one anti-olicity fic that I wrote while deep in the trenches of Flarrowverse discourse, which I totally deserved :/. I have regrets. Also I should probably orphan/delete that one if I haven’t already. In my defense, high school. I have learned.

Do you write smut?

Yea lol. I think my 9-1-1 stuff has been almost exclusively smut. Idk how it happened. (I do know how it happened smut is fun to write)

Craziest crossover?

I haven’t published any of my crossover fics :( none of them have been complete enough. I have many many unfinished RotBTD wips that have never seen the light of day though.

One time someone offered to translate one of my fics into Russian but idk if that ever actually happened.

What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Ok. After the end of the Heroes of Olympus Series, but before Trials of Apollo was announced, I tried my own hand at writing the sequel that was clearly coming based on all the loose threads in the final book. It was going to be a Solangelo quest to save the Oracle of Delphi from Python, while Akhys tries to poison Percy to turn him into an evil god(?). Half the details have been lost and I desperately want to remember them, because I haven’t attempted anything nearly as cool or ambitious since then. The first 5 chapters are posted on my ao3 (Will Solace and the Oracle’s Cry) and I still think high school me had the most interesting characterization of Will out of everyone else on the internet at the time. Even if it is still very 2015.

What are your writing strengths?

I think I’m good at getting into the heads of different characters. Understanding their motives and weaknesses.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Editing.

Lmao I have a lot of weaknesses but I definitely struggle the most with trying to look back on or change things I’ve already written, even when it’s necessary.

Also my tendency to just drop fics if I stop working on them for too long. Rip to my wip graveyard.

Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

That’s a minefield I’m not willing to play in. Unless it’s Chinese. Very limited amounts of Chinese. Or like, a pet name or phrase that’s already ubiquitous in fandom so I’m not risking anything.

First fandom you wrote in?

Percy Jackson!! That Will Solace quest is the first thing I ever wrote! I definitely had a tendency to jump into the deep end with new hobbies lmao. Like my first ever cosplay that took me 3 years to complete.

Favorite fic you've written?

I think my favorite fic is always going to be the one I’m currently working on writing. But I am very proud of the silly little dramatic ironies in In Hindsight, which I wrote entirely over one long lunch the day after 7x04 broke me. Also I have to shoutout Teacher’s Pet, that one ruler spanking fic nobody ever reads because it’s Eddie/Ana lmao. I enjoyed putting in a bunch of tiny incompatibilities between them. So, uh, I guess my favorite thing in my own writing is dramatic irony?

Fanfiction Ask Game

So, I'm going to take this opportunity to talk about Look Like the Innocent Flower, which takes place at Hogwarts during Deathly Hallows, from Daphne Greengrass's perspective.

She's sort of a blank slate character, and this fic takes advantage of that. Basically, it was an exercise in trying to imagine a Slytherin from Harry's generation who fully embodies their House's values (except anti-Muggle-born prejudice), and is against Voldemort from day 1. I kept it as canon compliant as possible, so she's not camping out in the Room of Requirement with the D.A. - but she's spying for them, preparing healing potions, and scheming against the Carrows while taking advantage of the fact that they would never suspect her.

She's also a legilimens. There's a whole story behind that, which basically comes down to:

Daphne is listed as Queenie Greengrass on the Original Forty list.

Queenie Goldstein from Fantastic Beasts was a legilimens.

A legilimens would make a fantastic spy.

Huh, what if...?

In the end, she leaves with the other Slytherins during the evacuation. Her first priority is to get her little sister, Astoria, to safety. But once that's done, she plans on returning to fight (presumably, she ends up part of the crowd that comes back with Professor Slughorn at the end).

The title comes from Shakespeare's Macbeth: "Look like th' innocent flower, but be the serpent under't"

Remind me again why is the fandom so light on Queenie Goldstein? Sis mind controlled someone, joined Grindelwald because “she wanted to be free to love her Muggle boyfriend”?

Because she’s a conventionally attractive woman.

I feel like I don’t talk enough about Queenie and what a gross spoilered character she turned out to be.

I wanna do a whole analysis on this topic at some point, but that would require that I rewatch crimes of grindelwald. Which is something I’m not keen to do at this point in time.

All I’m gonna say for now is that when you mind control your boyfriend and he reacts in a way you didn’t want. You have no right to get pissy over being called a freak. You just did a lot worse to him. Have some perceptive, Queenie!

Queenie really up and slandered my girl Leta in the first Fantastic Beasts movie, and then the second movie rolls around...

I was going to leave the post at that, but actually, I’m a little mad now; do you know how many “abusive!Leta” fanfictions homegirl generated just by saying “She was a taker; you need a giver.”?? She dragged her for what we can only assume was close to no reason, since we never see Leta exhibiting exploitative behavior. And then Queenie herself turns around and goes, “Guess I’m a wizard terrorist now! :D” Man. I could be mad at the writers, but seeing as I love the version of Leta we got and would rather this than an actual abusive Leta coming to fruition, I’m going to be mad at Queenie herself.

Secrets of Dumbledore is about to come out a few weeks and I'm really looking forward to all of the Harry Potter fans coming out and justifying movie ticket purchases by arguing "it's for the crew who have helped with the movie, I want to support them" and actually believing that any major film studio actually cares about or pays their crew members fairly or gives them a piece of the royalties. Every penny earned as the box office goes directly to JK, Yates, the studios, and a few of the big named actors. You don't care about artists or crew members. You care about feeling better about yourself. Pull your heads out of your ass.

My besties and sis wanted to pirate The Secrets of Dumbledore a few days ago so we did even though I felt lowkey uncomfortable the whole time and if anything stuck with me about the atrocious writing these are 2:

Queenie's villainess arch. We left her in CoG a supporter of Grindy, she comes back in SoD and she doesn't trust him as much as before. When did this happen? What caused it? Why don't we have a little more insight? Nope, she just needs to have a reason to go back to the good side and marry her boo. Briefest and blandest villain arch ever, never even did anything bad, only babysat Credence. Having been a Alison fan long before FB was a light in JKR's terfy little eyes, I say they fucking did her dirty.

The Qilin bowing to Albus. They really put that scene in. As if Albus is anything close to pure-hearted. Totally flabbergasted. Threw a fit, and almost a pillow at my bff's tv. So then my other bff tells me how this was probably done to enforce the "good-bad/black-white" narrative and ofc Dumbledore needs to be seen as one of the good guys, which... Yes she's right. But sooo disappointing.

Seems like JKR is not satisfied with how much she has let fans worldwide down, and has to find new ways everyday. Please let this woman end her career, I've had quite enough.

Oops....I wrote the days out of order. I forgot to do day 4 and went right on to day 5. So, you get day 5 today and day 4 tomorrow. I figured you would all be okay with that. *shrugs*

Day 5: Find Your Destiny (Found Family/Anti-Villain)

Pulling her deep purple cloak more tightly around her shoulders, Queenie Goldstein sat on the cold, cement step of a townhouse. The windows were dark and the air around her was chilled. Tiny flecks of snow swirled around her as she sat, but she paid them no mind as they fell into her golden curls, melting on contact. The witch was watching through the windows of the townhouse across the street where the lights in the windows were shining brightly, illuminating the sidewalk below. A small menorah had been placed in the corner of the window, seven of the eight candles lit and shining brightly.

Had she lit her candles alone this year, or had she asked someone to join her?

Queenie pulled her wand out with a shaky hand and tapped it to the top of her head, hard. The feeling of something slimy and cold made its way from her head down, throughout her body. She couldn’t risk being seen, especially by her sister. She had to be careful, Gellert didn’t know she had come tonight. She sighed as she bit her lip absently. He would know soon enough, she was sure.

Within the windows sat the people who meant most to her in the world. Her sister, the only family she truly had left. Her thoughts were the easiest to read after years of practice. Even at this distance, she could hear her clearly without trying. She was happy, content...in love. It wasn’t hard to see why.

Newt adored her. He sat to her left, his right arm draped casually across the back of her chair. His thoughts were swirling quickly, bouncing from one idea to the next in the rapid fashion she was used to hearing from him. What surprised her was how her sister’s name was intertwined with every thought he had. She smiled sadly as she read him. He adored her sister, and she was happy for them. Her chest tightened as she heard a stray thought filter through his mind.

Ring...engagement...love...wedding...Tina…

He would ask her soon. She knew it would happen eventually. Between his letters and his disappointment after finding Tina was not with her when she brought Jacob to London, she knew he cared. She knew her sister cared as well, she had listened to her growing feelings for months before feeling the heartbreak that had been caused by a ridiculous magazine article. She was glad they had worked things out, that they made each other happy. She needed Tina to be happy, and she knew she would be if she had him at her side.

The man across the table was someone she hadn’t seen before. He seemed familiar somehow, but she knew she had never met him. This must be Theseus. He had to be Newt’s brother, they shared enough features and similarities. He was family at least, Queenie could tell that much. She struggled with his thoughts. They were hard to grasp, quiet and flowing, protected. The accent didn’t help. She didn’t know him and had a hard time grasping his lines of thought at this distance. He had a kind aura, though. He sipped a glass of red wine then laughed at something that had been said, his solid hand coming up to clap the shoulder of the man at his left.

Jacob.

Her hands clenching, Queenie felt tears gathering on her lashes, one slowly falling down her pink cheek. Jacob. He had been her everything. Was her everything. She had tried so hard to make it work and had still lost him. She had walked through fire for him and he refused to follow. He called her crazy, but she was only crazy for him. He just couldn’t see it, how much he meant to her. How much love they could have together if he would only give things a chance. Now… Queenie was lost, forgotten as this new family met together for a warm Christmas dinner while she, Queenie, sat alone and freezing on the cement step of an abandoned townhouse. Tears flowed freely now as Queenie tried to hold back her sobs. They couldn’t hear her, it would be disastrous. She couldn’t be found, if they knew…

Gulping breaths of cold air, Queenie willed herself to calm down. She wasn’t sure why she came here. She couldn’t see them, couldn’t go to them. They wouldn’t forgive her anyway, especially now that she had kept her secret from them for so long. She had to continue the fight for what was right. She had to right the wrongs of her Government, she had to be free to live a life with Jacob, safely. She needed to finish what she had started, make them see that it was the only way to be truly free. With him, with their children someday. Gellert had promised her freedom and happiness, and she had to trust him now.

The group laughed deeply at something Tina had said and Queenie saw Newt slide his arm around her shoulders, squeezing affectionately. Jacob held up a glad of wine, grinning happily and saying something to the group before raising his crystal goblet in salute before drinking the last of the red liquid in a single gulp. He was smiling, laughing...and he was not thinking of Queenie. Hadn’t thought of her once since she had arrived. Tina had, briefly, but Jacob hadn’t.

Queenie’s eyes squeezed shut, tears splashing onto her cheeks and running down, down, down before dripping from her jaw. Why had she come, she wondered. It seemed like a good idea when she had snuck out of headquarters an hour ago. She just hadn’t thought that they would have forgotten her so quickly, that they would be happy without her there.

Had she expected them to be mourning her, the loss of her presence? Had she believed that their lives would stop without her there? She supposed that the idea didn’t make sense. Their lives would go on, grow, evolve...but she felt like she was in limbo, between one chapter and another, unmoving. She knew what her next chapter would be now, and she knew that she would have to face it alone. The thought made her sick to her stomach and she muffled the sobs that came, willing her emotions to wait until she was in the safety of her room.

Pushing herself up with difficulty, she stood on the sidewalk, taking one last look at the people she loved through the frost-edged window. She began to walk down the sidewalk, away from the light, her hand curled protectively around her swollen abdomen. She wouldn’t tell Jacob. He would hate her for keeping this from him for so long. Someday, she would make this right and they could be together. The three of them. For now, she would walk back through the dark. Alone. This was her life now, this was what she had chosen. For the greater good.

First off, I knew The Crimes of Grindelwald would be bad but

- First off Zoe Kravitz dies, which is bullshit

- Jude Law is great, but he’s got twenty minutes of screentime tops

- Credence joins Grindelwald even though he was abusing him last movie. Idk if he doesn’t know that, but it’s still stupid and makes no sense

- Everybody is where the plot needs them to be even if it makes no sense how they got there or how they knew where to go

- You can’t keep track of who is related to who and what their family did without looking it up on Wikipedia, and when you think you understand, the movie just starts making shit up

- Remember Queenie, the nice, strange but funny girl who you loved from the first movie? Yeah she’s mind controlling Jacob for literally no reason and becomes a Wizard Nazi

- Oh, and speaking of Wizard Nazis, the mass murderer who thinks he’s better than other races and has been called Wizard Hitler for years thinks he can stop the holocaust

- It has the same problem the first one did, where it’s building up to something you’re gonna care about, you just have to wait through all this boring, unimportant filler first

- Character motivations? Coherent plot? Pacing? Color?
