i just remembered that eugene left the try guys so now they're not even tre tri guys anymore (which is like SO okay omg) and it does make me sad to see both ned and eugene go (for wildly different reasons, of course, but like both reasons contribute to the main point (and also both of those reasons are my own issues to deal with, not theirs - they have no obligation to make decisions regarding the prioritization of their personal life based on the emotions of their fanbase)). but the constant unrest in all of these subconsciously developed parasocial relationships ive found myself in is like actually so fucking much to process? like jenna marbles last video felt like saying goodbye to my best friend with all the love in my heart and then never seeing her again (i saw her wedding photos and it made me want to cry. i am so happy she's happy and healing and i wish her nothing but the best). but having to let go and mourm the loss of all of these relationships (the good and the bad ones) and process everything that comes with it is so overwhelming (which, again, is like not their issue - i am the only one with any deep emotional devotion to this relationship (not to say that these online personalities can't have genuine care for their audience, because they totally can, but its literally impossible for them to constantly be expected to develop and nurture connections with each an every single one of their fans on a persom level and they also have like literally no obligation to either. the loss of this relationship will literally give me emotions that ill have to bring up to my therapist while they literally do not even know i exist at all and that is entirely my own issue to process and heal from).

the internet has reached the point where, if someone reaches a critical level of being universally beloved, i know that they'll be abhorred in a matter of months. people like to say "being mean to unproblematic creators is why we lost jenna marbles" but yall dont realize that if jenna hadn't left she'd be universally hated rn. there would be bands of jenna antis roaming the internet rn. she's the smartest human to have ever lived

Why are people still saying Jenna Marbles got bullied off the internet? Like from what I can tell she just chose to quit. Sure the fact she’d done controversial things was probably part of the reason but there wasn’t some sort of great wave of anti-Jenna Marbles content
If it was that easy to force a youtuber to quit social media we should no longer ever have to see Shane Dawson or Jeffree Star whose name I definitely misspelled but I can’t be bothered to look up

Same can apply to you idiots. Maybe you people should keep your shitty oppressive 'opinions' to yourselves and not send death threats or dox people just because you disagree with them over lines and words. Food for thought since you think you're so smart. Just wait til you're in your 30's and 40's lmao
I'm not an anti nor do I doxx and send death threats, as a former proshipper we WERE the ones doing it, and the so called Antis were made up to fling responsibility.
Now I don't have issues with Proshipping as everyone has their prefs but as long as its used for traumatic purposes and kept to themselves or just STATED outright its for trauma related reasons. Then its fine.
But those who do it for fun...
No need to say.
The way people say "Oh this is a crime!" like to search for proof to claim all of reasonable peoples claims on Loli/Shota photographed art and writing. There was no clear indicator on if its a crime. (EDIT: It can be a crime if its caught with CP alongside it. But in general its not a crime, just a moral standpoint btw.)
They might be referring to Discords Rules. As long as its not illegal (And you point me into the right law that says it, cause google isn't being clear.) then Proshippers aren't doing anything illegal.
At this point its a he said she said kind of deal which is the main reason why I fell of from poaching and outting Proshippers in the transformers community because its petty ass drama over fictional ass ships no one gives a flying fuck about.
I think I just gave a fuck because my friends forced me to go along with it and I am a people pleaser.
But my honest opinion is?
As long as you aren't hurting real kids or your fucking family members then go off ig.
I'm honestly not interested in further talkiing about this topic because I like to keep personal things private for the sake of my mental health.
But yeah, calling me an idiot and accusing mw of supporting doxxing and death threats is menial as I can report Proshippers aren't any better as they do the same. Which isn't going to hold well on both ends.
Antis and Proshippers are as effective against each other as hot sauce on bread. Of the two learned to ignore each other then we wouldn't get call outs after call outs of people saying "Oh but so and so supports pedophilla and incest" like bro stfu they are clearly not going to listen to gospel. Just fucking block them and once they ACTUALLY hurt kids THEN call them out.
Yeah, unfollow me all you want but I'm HONESTLY sick of people reusing the same shit and saying its immoral when it CLEARLY is but not everyone is gonna remember them in weeks time unless they're big like Dream or some shit.
In this day and age, proshipping was POSTIVE and now people are against it the same way they cancel people over saying slurs. The people who are canceling and harassing proshippers WERE one in the past. Simularly to people who said slurs and are now trying to call out Jenna Marbles for it.
Yeah, my opinions will get me flamed by my mutuals. But I'm not on either side from a logical standpoint. This drama is menial and a waste of fucking time for everyone, I have a solution: Stay in your own corner of the internet.
If you're so bothered by one another, block and don't rile up a fucking mob. Jfc.
Thank you for coming to my rant.

sorry i don't really have "comfort shows" (my understanding of a comfort show is something you watch over again when you're feeling down, right?). i hardly watch series, most of the time i watch youtube and read stuff i've got layin' around.
but what i do comfort-watch on youtube: watcher entertainment particularly puppet history (i've watched the episodes so many times i can say lines from memory), sometimes jenna marbles old videos, te lo resumo así nomas, fedelobo, ANTI-CHEF (particularly his jamie & julia series where he makes recipes from julia child's books), brave wilderness, wicked makers, and whenever i'm feeling saucy ALPHA TEC (this one is special 'cause its a channel by an old japanese man that does camping cooking and everything always looks so good)
I was tagged by @inloif thanks boo 😇
rules: share 10 of your comfort shows then tag 10 people
1. Uhhhhhhhhhhhh. Ngl rewatching the X files this year was very comforting. So I'll say x files. Especially the early seasons!
2. Xena warrior princess- quite literally have had a 20+ year relationship with this show by this point, it'll always be special to me.
3. Fringe. I still think it's one of the best scifis i've watched... also I love you, Olivia Dunham
4. Veronica mars, for all its faults, was my favourite show of all time until they rebooted it and the first 2 seasons will always be bangers. To me.
5. Always sunny. Terrible terrible people, whom I love.
6. I haven't watched it for a long time but the seasons of DW with 9 and 10 were very special to me as a teenager so.... :)
7. 90s Sailor moon! It's just good fun still.
8. Spirited, I mean a show about the ghost of a dead punk rocker haunting an uptight dentist? Who wouldn't love that.
9. Diagnosis murder... I love dick van dyke....
10. Love between fairy and devil.... it's just so whimsy and girly and silly 🥰
I tag @hotdadlicense @polyshow @pokerharem @queerb @saniremon @vivi-mire @ghostbonezzz @girlovessquirrels @shinydudunsparce @useful-boy @retconnedtimelord @woundedheartwithin @shanaraharlyah muah

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just some examples of jenna marbles being a typical cishet white youtuber; slut shaming, mysogny, black and yellow face, racism and sympathizing with other racists.
A link to the Reddit thread that explains it all while having links to each one of these incidents
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just some images of her doing black and yellow face in the same video
+bonus! a collage of the many times shane daweson, another white and cis youtuber she CONSTANTLY associates with and is still friends with after all the nasty shit hes done from anti-Semitism to out right saying the n-word with a hard r, did black face!
Tumblr media
But yeah, white cishet lady funny so her rampant racism dosent matter right?

Jenna Marbles fanbase is living proof how white women’s tears are prioritized over people hurt by racism. This is why I’m glad she’s taking accountability and leaving. None of y’all have considered how the young black girls who seen her Nicki video might have been impacted, but that Jenna looks sad in the video. It’s like y’all have an expiration date for when racist pasts don’t matter anymore

with everything going on an all these apologists and sympathizers circulating, i feel the need to say: toxic cancel culture does not exist when surrounding topics such as pedophilia or any repeated and consistent examples of racism, homophobia, and misogyny. cancel culture was born out of a need to acknowledge that people who enact the things listed above should not have a large platform, or at the VERY LEAST, should not be seen as someone who has good morals. saying cancel culture is toxic when your pos fav has been proven to be participating in unethical and sometimes illegal acts shows your inherent lack of understanding of what can and cannot be forgiven.

Sometimes I wonder what it must feel like to be one of those full-white people who burst guilt-free into every conversation on race having already decided that their take is inherently right and they don’t have to actually listen to any kind of marginalized group

First off it was Clarie from the Bon Appetit Test Kitchen, NOW ITS JENNA MARBLES. WHY does the one person who always GREW and ACKNOWLEDGED her mistakes have to leave?!? When there’s literally JEFFREE STAR who can’t let other people be happy AND MAKES EXCUSES for his shit! Fuck 2020!

I’ll say this, whenever we have discussions about cancel culture, y’all priorities are always off. Why are you empathizing with those causing harm than those affected by said harm? Like, yea, I understand that person is sorry now, but what about the people they offended? Are they supposed to get over it because the person didn’t have bad intentions? People have every reason to be angry or offended with the people that have been called out the past couple of days. Blackface and other forms of racism aren’t things you “just get over”. These are subjects that need to be called out. We need to have a low tolerance for this stuff or people are going to keep doing it.
I like Jenna marbles and I do think she’s grown and is genuinely sorry, but that doesn’t excuse blackface!! No one called her out, she decided to expose herself and leave, so where are y’all getting this idea that the myth of cancel culture drove her off the internet? I’m less concerned with her feelings than I am concerned with the black fans who called her out and probably got shit for it. Probably felt unsafe in her fandom and was ignored by Jenna as she proceeded to do it 6 more times. I’m more concerned with those who fell victim to their “ignorance” in their youth or them being a product of that time. What about their feelings? And their mental health?
Everybody has been talking about being actively anti racist for fucking weeks and when it’s time for y’all to actually do that...you make excuses. Y’all have learned nothing from the Shane and jeffree situation I see. How do y’all expect people to do better if no one is holding them accountable or calling them out? How do you expect people to learn if you call everyone trying to educate you self-righteous? We’re not supposed to immediately cancel someone but if we try to educate them then we’re “cyber bullying”. Make it make sense. And no one is unproblematic, period. There is always something for us to work on. When we make mistakes we need to be willing to learn from the call out in order to be better and be open to being educated. I don’t care how “unproblematic” you think your fave is or if they’re not as bad as some celebs/influencers, no one is exempt from being called out! No one is above getting dragged for saying something ignorant. What’s not clicking? Y’all are more angry at people being “cancelled” than you are at their racism and it’s fucking baffling to me. But also very telling, I’ll say that. We’ve established that cancel culture not only doesn’t work but it’s not real, we understand that what they did was wrong, and hopefully y’all understand that there are consequences to your actions....so, again, what’s not clicking? And lastly, STOP TELLING BLACK PEOPLE HOW TO FEEL!!!!!!

I’ve been thinking, what is going on with Jenna Marbles is the most ridiculous thing ever. And she was right to call it cancel culture, because that’s what these people are doing. These people who aren’t her fans, these people are digging shit from almost over a decade ago and using it to drag her through the mud. And they know, they know that she is very sensitive and cares what other people think, they know that she will relent to people bombarding her with her demands. They know this because she is a good person.
And we all have seen through the past decade that she has changed. She isn’t in that mindset anymore. She has been living a comfortable, happy life and have been blessing us with comfortable, happy content. The person she is now would never do what she did then. And she recognizes what she did, was not good. She is growing from that, but SOME people will not let her grow.
There are TONS of other things to throw your hate out on. Like cops, government, etc. But you throw it out on youtubers who are choosing to give you content. You people, just want to see her burn and you’re targeting her because you know it’s easy. I fucking hate antis and seeing them just bully content creators infuriate me. I DO NOT CARE WHAT THEY MAKE! Because it is your choice to view them, it always has been. And unless they violate the rights of the platform they use, they shouldn’t be kicked or bullied off.
These are just some thoughts I have, but yeah, square up whoever made her cry, cause I want to whoop your ass. You probably don’t just do it to her too, you probably do it to so many creators and I hate you for it.
Here’s a tip, if you don’t like them, get off their platform. I hate David dobrik and can’t stand the Paul brothers. So what do I do? GET OFF.
