Yes. I’m gonna have to tag this bitch anti. Okay here goes the rant...

Beckett Harrington- From first meeting I dubbed him the Draco Malfoy. He is rude to MC just because. I am friends with Beckett stans and I have seen some of the screenshots. (Mostly they share amongst each other and I ignore cause gag me) He discounts MC and their ability whether you have romance points or not and that’s just rude. The way he puts himself up on a pedestal like he a freshman as the ability to save MC and should have any business in messing with wards is insane. The way he whines, constantly about his sister. Katarina shows up and he’s upset because she’s invading his domain. Like dude it’s a job. She’s not there to watch you, but that’s how he acts. More mopey whining. SO. MANY. DIAMOND. SCENES. Like can I please have this non essential scene with someone who doesn’t think MC is useless? He is just exhausting and is the reason I keep letting myself fall behind on the book. I haven’t finished it because I don’t want to see him, even if I want to see Griffin, Aster and Shreya (Balthazar’s a hoe).

The blond doppelgängers. Seriously every blond male LI in recent books look so similar and it’s annoying! Someone posted a edit with all the blond male LI and I couldn’t tell you which one was Avery, Aubrey, Elliot or Nick. I knew they were there but I had no clue who. They are just so similar and it’s nauseating. We don’t need the same LI over and over.

Jackie Varma- when I started Open Heart I was excited I fell for Jackie, Aurora, Harper, Sienna, and Kyra, the only female LI we saw more than a few chapters (we had what two scenes with Kyra, is she a Li?) was Jackie and she became a raging bitch and pissed me off. If Aurora were to become a LI in book two while I am set on Sienna and would rather not romance anyone I would like to see that, the enemies to lovers trope is used a lot but it doesn’t make it bad, however Jackie is more friends to lovers to enemies. She likes you is nice, pushes MC to do the contest because she wants to beat the best, but as soon as MC starts to rise up the ranks Jackie starts giving her the cold shoulder. It’s even worse if you had romance points with her or even had sex with her, as my Lydia did. I abruptly dropped her and said I’d be happier having zero LI if i coudn’t have Sienna. Open Heart is the only book where none of the male LI hold even an ounce of interest for me. Bryce and Rafael are great but they are just friends, and any scene’s I did with Ethan I did because they would help my MC with her career, Lydia is 100% single.

something something, pb sabotaged their only female li from the start with that stupid fucking competition storyline, something something something, they simultaneously pushed the white male li to an obnoxious degree while queerbaiting with a black female character who wlws have wanted as an li since book 1 amidst a storm of criticism for their racist writing, something, could they not have spent that whole hiatus trying to fix that issue, something something, im sick of wlws being treated as an annoying afterthought :)

Ok is it just me or do all of the LIs in the special art scenes look a little...off? Like don’t get me wrong, Bryce and Rafael are both still absolutely gorgeous 😭 And I actually think Jackie’s looks the most accuracte. But Raf’s skin tone is lighter AGAIN and he has a baby face. And idk Bryce looks more like he does on the cover of this book rather than how he does in game to me. Am I the only one that thinks this

Open Heart Book 3 drops in two more hours and I think that this is the right time for saying this. Lately I have been seeing a lot of hatred addressed to people who romance different LIs than the one sending the hate messages. Please please please I beg you do not do this. Like me, there are a few people here for whom this will be the first time in tumblr for the entirety of a book and I for one know that they want it to be a special experience, please don't ruin it for them. I saw quite a few people leave this fandom for that exact reason and believe me, if the one who is leaving is a friend it really, really hurts. This fandom is a mean for escapism for many of us and it's my request to let it be so. If you don't like a particular character, it's okay, express it in your own blog and not in someone's blog who clearly likes that character and dont send hate messages please. This game is called Choices for a reason and thus it needs to be treated that way, all of us are entitled to our own choices and who or what we like isn't your invitation to cast aspersions on us and our believes and ideals.

I am wishing a Happy Open Heart Day to every one who plays the game and happy day to anyone who doesn't, regardless.
