It is so crazy to me how much t Swift haters are goth and emos but they all complain about getting "bullied", like well shit maybe if you didn't keep hating on one of the biggest anti bullying advocates in the entire world bullying wouldn't be such a problem anymore.

lol I’m still like 65% sure she’s a troll. If she’s not, I am genuinely curious about her life experience. I’ve met some whackos in my 18 years on this planet, so I’m not ruling her out as a troll entirely, however, she never rly adds any new information, she has 3 talking points, and constantly dodges questions. Also, I refuse to believe that you can go your entire life without a single positive interaction with a HUGE group of people (ik she’s in like Portland or smthn so that could be a contributing factor). I live in the rural south and am very visibly alternative, and I still rarely have outright negative passing interactions with people. Yeah I might get picked on a bit at school or something, but it’s a pretty average amount of bullying for someone who looks and acts like me lol. I don’t think every single alternative person you’ve ever met is an asshole.
So yeah sorry for the wall of text, but I’m pretty sure she’s not for real. If she’s not an outright troll, she’s at least exaggerating a bit to piss people off. It’s entertaining lol. If she’s not I would love to study her. I think we as a species could learn a lot

idk y’all should treat fat men better. and i don’t mean mildly chubby guys i mean honest-to-god love-handles-and-double-chins fat guys. stop calling them shit like discord mods or gross weebs or nasty creeps or neckbeards or that they’re stinky or sweaty or beer bellied or whatever else. fatphobia isn’t cute, even repackaged in a neat little box of “ew men”

There is a genuine problem right now in online spaces of people refusing to respect the history of a subculture, as if every single person who's ever been goth or punk or emo before the invention of tiktok was wrong and now the correct way to be those things is by doing nothing to change your lifestyle, appearance, or ideals, but instead by repeating validating mantras to yourself: e.g., goth is what ever you want it to be; punk is whatever you, personally, already do, and requires nothing but a can-do attitude; emo is the same thing as being sad. I believe this phenomenon comes from hyper-capitalist and consumerist ideals, and it's hard to combat because it's often very left-leaning people who are interested in these alternative subcultures. the underlying capitalism of it all becomes invisible to the self-described anti-capitalist. simply being anti-capitalist is not enough to prevent oneself from a mindset of consumerism--the proof is in the repeated notion of "Don't change; just be. Don't make; just buy."
Passive consumption is not often recognized as consumerism because there's no money changing hands, but in my opinion, reducing the membership of real-life subcultures with historical bases in music, fashion, and stigmatized emotions to something which can be entered by anyone, with no significant lifestyle change, is... perhaps not doing any favors to the people of that subculture. Just a thought.

“Save Sasuke from the dark path he was going down” sounds so deep and romantic or whatever until you remember that the “dark path ” being referred to was the search for answers and closure made necessary by systematic oppression, a corrupt political system, surviving a massacre, and constantly being invalidated.

At least hot topic has things NORMAL PEOPLE can buy now. You all want your perfect little goth store back but you don't understand that fandom type stuff is the only thing they sell with any wide appeal.

if you are buying clothes from temu because other emo/scene/goth/punk clothes aren’t affordable (yet you can afford just. basic clothes) you aren’t alternative. i can’t dress exactly how i want due to money and lack of cool clothes in my area, but i refuse to support temu, shein, aliexpress, etc .
i do understand that sometimes those clothes are peoples ONLY option. then buying is excusable, i get it.
if you really want the clothes that badly, remember that DIY is pretty damn punk !

ODE To Taylor Swift Haters
Head tilted, peering down
You hate on people unlike you
~
Call you misogynist, and you
Freak out like your mom died
~
But I see you all there
Laughing it up at just women
~
Call us cultists and other stuff
Like you don't even know
~
That your words are hurtful
Toxic as can possibly be
~
Drag me down in the mud
Oh? Was Hot Topic closed today?
~
But you know I have feelings too
Or maybe you did not

I think the commercialization of alternative fashion and watering down of subcultures is so sad.
No, you don't need doc martens or tripp or London fog to be "legitimate" these pieces can be really cool looking but imo are best tret as inspiration.
No you aren't too poor to dress alternative I'm sorry you were made to believe that. These communities were built by the outcasted and impoverished. Any clothes can fit the subculture. Its about intent, wearing what you like. Following the morals and ideals associated with the subculture. Being passionate about the art, design themes and/or history. Imo the floral bedsheets turned dress are far more in line with these subcultures than the extremely expensive designer brand name dark and studded clothes.
Diy, modify, innovate, don't be afraid to have something turn out bad. Don't let anyone enforce their weird standards on you while participating in a movement meant to be a place for those rejecting standards placed upon them. Don't fall victim to consumerism, or attitudes designed to make communities rip themselves apart.
*if this is phrased weird or overly rambly, I'm not the most awake rn tbh

i can't even begin to understand the thought process of rhaegar and his utterly absurd decision to take the most powerful kingsguards with him to either fight or to guard his 15-year-old mistress/abductee (?) and their babe with questionable legitimacy while leaving behind his wife and his two children (one of them is his fucking heir) to be guarded by who exactly? 16-year-old jaime lannister? (who was “guarding” the king that kept him “hostage”)
rhaegar knew damn well his father is going even more insane after a war he started by his utter stupidity and selfishness and they won’t be safe yet he didn’t bother to ensure their safety before he fucks off… the only explanation is that he didn’t give a flying fuck about anyone but himself and his delulu which makes him complicit in their tragic death as much as his mad daddy who kept them hostages and the lannisters who slaughtered them

when I say I will miss carlos in ferrari, I do not mean the way the team never loved him as much as he loved them, the way his victories and good days weren't celebrated, the way he had to often sacrifice his race for the supposed greater benefit of the team, the way when he obeyed he would be criticised as a racer because that wasn't a champion's mentality, and would be berated even worse when he disobeyed because that was selfish and not what ferrari stood for. I do not mean the teammate who never had respect for him, who felt it was okay to denigrate his character to the media, make desultory apologies that only added to the vitriol he got, who never really seemed to see them as equals.
when I say I will miss carlos in ferrari, I mean the chance at race wins and maybe championships that ferrari afforded him, the rich history and legacy that the team holds that not many can carry as well as carlos did, him in red because no one seems to don that red as well as him. I will miss the team that gave him his first taste of the highest highs this sport offers, and maybe the last. but mostly, I will miss the the way carlos loved that team, the way this was his childhood dream, and the way that dream ends for him now.
