Is it wrong that Jayvik shippers give me the ick when it comes to art… I don’t ship Jayvik, but just because I don’t like certain ships doesn’t mean I can’t stand seeing it, like, hell, it’s not a big deal. But I specifically hate the shippers when it comes certain characters, you know what I mean?

So here I am, and I’ll just get to the point…

I dislike the Jayvik shippers who sexualize Victor and Jayce in… literally anything, it makes it even more weirder for me considering that like… Victor is canonically Asexual 😭

Cuz like, sex jokes are a majority of what I see under a handful of Jayvik content’s comment section, and yeah, I know the jokes are like, shits and giggles, but like.

Most of the stuff I see between those two are so sexualized, HEAVILY, like, nsfw artwork, and… a LOT of sexual comments from people with the hex str@p jokes, or like, Jayce “demolishing that twink”…?

Honestly I feel like people just be focusing on sexual shit when they look at Jayvik, it just, makes me feel weird. You know what I mean? It also doesn’t help that the ship is like, super popular, so I MIGHT get jumped for this…

Yeah, sorry, this ain’t a hate post to the chill Jayvik shippers, y’all do your own thing, but this is just, something I noticed in the fandom, sorry. TwT

The lack of Mel centric fics on A03 is really dissapointing but I'm not surprised. Also why see they all focused on Jayce and Victor? Or them as a ship?? All of them are centered around Mel in the disposable Black Girlfriend trope.

If you didn’t know, Christian Linke recently said that they weren’t intending to make Jayce and Viktor romantic but just to show a really close relationship between men which they believe is underrepresented in media.

Of course, as expected, antis have taken this as a way to shut down gay interpretations and bring up how “romanticising a relationship that is meant to be brotherly demeans it”. It is definitely important to have relationships that depict multiple forms of love and yes at its core we can all agree that Jayce and Viktor are two men who love each other.

I believe that despite what Christian Linke says, the way one chooses to interpret that love ultimately falls on the viewer, as their relationship/love can resonate with people in many different ways.

I personally view Jayvik to be partners, friends and lovers because it resonates with me as a queer fan. I personally see a lot of queercoding in the way they were written and that makes it hard for me to perceive them as not having a romantic love.

For example:

Viktor being shown to take Mel’s place in many scenes like Jayce hallucinating him with after Mel and he’s wearing her black eyeshadow.

Mel x Jayce sex scene overlaps with the scene of Viktor becoming entwined with the Hexcore in a way that it makes it difficult for you to even focus on Mel and Jayce.

Amanda mentioning that Viktor was projecting his relationship with Jayce onto Sky this season - the whole science-y bond.

Viktor making the “this is not the bedroom” joke when Mel catches him and Jayce trying to sneak into the lab.

This all resonates with me as queer comphet and their love for each other being superior to that of their romantic interests also feels very queer for me.

And I have the right to interpret them in that way. I respect the way Christian Link interprets them and has shown to depict them but I personally do not see their relationship in the same way and I believe characters are just as much as the audience’s as they are the creators so my interpretation is also valid.

(Also, creators genuinely don’t always agree with each other and they differ in opinions when it comes to interpretations of characters/relations whilst Christian Linke may not see their love as romantic. I believe there might be other creators who do which could explain some of the ambiguity in their scenes).

Also, to the antis, queer love is also a valid form of love, it can exist with/without physical intimacy and still be queer.

Perceiving Jayvik as queer does not demean their love for each other at all. Perceiving them as having a platonic or brotherly bond isn’t wrong either. All forms of love are pure. Queer or not. Jayce and Viktor’s love for each other is pure and can be seen no matter how you interpret it.

The beauty of a story or a piece of art is enabling the perceived to interpret it in a way it resonates with them and it may not be what the creator intended and it may not be what resonates with you but it is still a valid interpretation.

That is to say I also respect platonic readings of their relationship despite not personally seeing it because you have the right to interpret them in the way you want to. And I am asking you to do the same for me and give me the right to interpret them in the way I want to.

I feel like I can't talk enough irl how oc coded Arcane is, especially jayvik.

Like in may I flashed this shit in. In may I realised Viktor is so similar to Luke, in every kind of way. Like their looks, their way of thinking, their personality.

Also, I drew Rami with beard and a broken look. I had to break the motivated, happy, funny and the schools popular guy. I broke him with separating him from Luke.

Then in september I had a vision tó cope with my religious traumas, and put it into the lore. Luke is Jesus, and his siblings are the 4 Horsemen. (or we could say anti Christ and the 4 evangelist, depends on how I think about the old and new testament lmao) But anyway I put the bible in the lore oficially (finally)

Now let's go back to circa 2019, when Luke, Rami, Beryl and maybe Rael was born. Luke was a fucking demon who was yeeted to the human world, and he had tó fight the Death (Rael, who was his older brother, another demon) also their father (who's now only Luke's mom) was the ultimate demon king. And thinking about this, made me realise I Always coped my religius traumas in this lore, but I was mature (?) enough to notice it, and make conscious decision about it.

Now back to arcane x oc lore. Literarlly what Viktor did in the s2 is what Luke is doing in their story. He thinks he's a mistake, like Viktor thinks his weaknesses makes him a lesser person. He brings the Apocalypse, like Viktor would've done if Jayce isn't there.

Rami grows a fucking beard and looks like a mess after Luke ✨mysteriously✨ disappears, and leaves him alone, like Jayce did when he tried to find his way out of that au, which was kinda Viktor's mistake heheha.

Rami and Luke kinda will do the same fucking thing at the end of their story as Jayce and Viktor did.

This is how I imagine the Ekko and Jinx scene continuing.

Jinx sees the Monkeys within the Z-Drive: okay, that's something weird.

Immediately deduces that the friend Ekko is talking about must be herself.

Ekko tells her all About the parallel universe "Can you believe Vander and Silco were Dating?"

Sigh, they had to have Vi put on an enforcer uniform rather than have her fighting as a Zaunite. Like I get that it's kind of more appropriate and stuff, since she really belongs with them more at this point. But still, found the time to find the uniform.

The only good parts of the end fight were Cait and Mel versus Ambessa and Ekko's bit.

The whole Warwick stuff felt tacked on and pointless.

I'm sorry, I maintain my utter hate for the Viktor and Jayce storyline. They really should just have been deleted from Season 2 and it should just have been our gals and guys versus Ambessa. And no amount of sappy Music and visuals are gonna Sway me from thinking that the existance of their storyline is a mistake.

This is incredibly hard to pick, since pretty much every character in this show is incredibly compelling and well-written... But I think I'm gonna go with Vi. I mean fierce, badass protector with a heart of gold, trapped in the past, who will either self-sacrifice or self-destruct? What's not to like?

This one has a clearer answer, it's Ekko. I honestly don't have much to say about him, mainly because I can never narrow it down. Ekko went from an adorable little kid to an inspiring leader and a beacon of hope. He's a protector like Vi and probably one of the few characters that focuses on the future while honoring the past and not letting it trap him (for the most part).

As of writing this, I still haven't started season 2, so I can't really answer it.

"When these walls come tumbling down". Every episode is great, but this one for me takes the cake. I mean it has Caitlyn taking care of Vi, Vi being a badass, backstory on Viktor (baby Viktor is so cute, I would burn down the world for him!), Jinx being a menace to Chuck and Sevika, that epic sequence that starts when she lights the flare (my absolute favorite moment in the show (so far)) and her and Vi reuniting!!! Perfection!

Unfortunately I don't really follow the cast members, but I honestly enjoy Ella Purnell's (Jinx's voice actress) tweets about what's to come in s2.

Caitvi! Hands down.

Definitely Silco. I hated him in act 1, but seeing his relationship with Jinx made me appreciate him more. I'm honestly glad their father-daughter dynamic wasn't abusive or fake, like he genuinely cared for this girl and was willing to give up everything to protect her.

Jayce x Viktor. I don't really have anything against it, but like I said in another ask, I just don't see their relationship like that. I see them more as brothers and their relationship as a parallel to that of Vi and Jinx. Also Silco x Jinx and Vi x Jinx for obvious reasons.

Arcane what-if fanfiction brainrot time 😄

So I've been going over ideas in my head for fics that I would like to write or read and one idea has now implanted itself in my mind and refuses to leave, so I'm going to post said idea here please let me know what y'all think ❤️

So the idea I have is a combination of what if Powder never followed Vi and the others, what if Mylo and Claggor lived, what if Silco never raised Jinx, what if Powder/Jinx had a guardian angle (a.k.a storm goddess) on her shoulder amongst her voices, annnnnd Vander is Warwick theory.

This is going to be a doozy to try and summarise, please be patient with me 😅

So a few things first to help me paint the picture:

Powder is younger than she is in Arcane, in the show she's 11 years old, in this story she's 7 1/2 - 8 years old (everyone else, save Ekko whose 2-3 years older than Powder, are the same age as they are in the show).

Janna will at times talk to Powder, Vi just thinks that her little sister has an imaginary friend (when she hears Powder talking back to Janna) but still worries about this. Janna will at times intervene to protect Powder but will otherwise stay as a spectator unless the situation is dire.

Vander is more hands on with Powder because she's much younger than in the show and full heartily views Vander as her dad, and even calls him daddy (she was too young when her parents died and can't remember them or the attack on the bridge, although she still has traumatic responses in regards to their deaths even if she can't remember why) 🥺❤️ (the other kids call him dad as well, but not as much as Powder does).

Ekko's parents are still alive, he works for Benzo because his parents want him to not end up in the factories and mines like him. They end up dying several years into Silco's reign, giving him extra motivation to bring the man down.

Mylo is nicer to Powder but he still tends to lash out at her when he's feeling stressed, the guilt from this is something that will play on his mind for years to come.

Viktor and Jayce will play a big part in Powder's life... after awhile (I'll explain later).

Caitlyn and Powder/Jinx will frenemies and sisters, a real love-hate relationship.

Annnnnnd Timebomb will be one of the main ships. Sorry Lightcannon (I like the ship but Timebomb will feel more organic for this fic and I don't know how to incorporate Lux into the story) not sorry to Jilco and Vi/Jinx shippers, sorry but y'all are weird.

Now for the brief summary.

So the start of the fic plays out much the same as the first three episodes of Arcane, with a few changes here and there to incorporate reactions and actions to Powder's younger age.

For example

Mylo is less antagonistic towards Powder even after she loses the loot but he's still passive aggressive about the whole situation and Powder will still feel immense guilt.

Vander is more angry about Powder being dragged Topside to rob a house and will bring it up in his argument/lecture with Vi, he also brings her along with him to see Benzo and we all get cute little (at this time platonic) Timebomb moment.

Mylo will express worry and frustration about bringing Powder along on the job because she's too young.

And so on.

The story will start to really diverge from the show storyline around the time Vi comes back from the massacre at Benzo's, she takes longer to get back after making sure Ekko got back home safely and in this time Powder falls asleep. And so isn't conscious when Vi gets back and informs everyone what happens, Powder sleeps through all this because kids her age will sleep through anything (I know from experience), and stays asleep when everyone rushes off to save Vander.

Vi fully intends to return and doesn't consider waking her sister just to leave her worrying when they leave, she locks the door behind her so that nobody can get into where her sister is.

Vi and the others get to where their dad is being held but Silco had started injecting Vander with Shimmer and let's him loose on his children but doesn't account for how strong Vander's parental instincts are, and is then left with an enhanced and pissed off Vander tearing through his people.

Vi and the boys, not knowing what else to do, try to fall back to the Last Drop but get apprehended by Enforcers and dragged off to Stillwater.

Annnnnd I feel like this post has gone on long enough already, so please stay tuned for part 2 ✌️😄❤️
