Honestly, I've been hearing/reading recently about how Viktor's story, including his lore in the game, but especially in the show is, in a sense, about eugenics. I mean that in the sense that I didn't realize that before just from knowing his lore from the game, even though for others it might be obvious. And with that context, I really loved the way they handled his story at the end.
Jayce's speech to him ("but you were never broken Viktor") was just beautiful, and so was the fact that Viktor himself, the older alternate one that saved Jayce, realized that himself after "fixing" things and wanted for "our" Viktor to be freed from that burden too.
They took a story (Viktor's lore) that brought up the idea without a definitive conclusion to be taken and hammered the point home instead of trying to make it stay ambiguous and honestly, as much as I initially didn't want that (cause I didn't want for Viktor himself to be a villain just actually harming people), with the way it was handled I was glad and really think it was for the best.
Even if Viktor does end up being kind of a "villain" in the final act, his motives always stay altruistic and what he needs to be "defeated" is to be returned to his past self that was already perfect as he was but didn't realize :')
He doesn't simply get destroyed and villified in the process for the sake of the other characters, rather than that the conclusion of his story is led by the person who loved him the most and a version of himself who set said person in that path with the best of intentions towards him (main Viktor), rather than seeing him as a necessary sacrifice. They didn't do what they did just to "save everyone else", but to show to Viktor himself what he needed to know.
Even if he has to "die" (apparently there's not all there is to it, according to the showrunner), I think that was still as beautifully executed as a "sacrifice" could have been, unlike the way this kind of plotline sometimes gets handled in other stories (see: TUA season 4).

JayVik was literally endgame like it doesn't get more endgame than cosmically dying with your foreheads pressing together while professing your love for each other and how much you're meant to be together in every universe

I think I finally understand how Lottie stans/LottieNats feel, because I fully support Viktor's little cult and wish his moody traumatized boyfriend would support it too instead of trying to destroy it.

Ok with act two released I think we can say people overreacted so much to Caitlyn's "turn" omg. 😭 Everyone thought 2x03 was just the beginning of her villain era when in reality it was her rock bottom already and it was only up for there oaijsoaijs. She's not even half as fascist as people seemed to be expecting.

Honestly I'm a bit underwhelmed at Arcane S2 right now. Like, the episodes aren't bad or anything, but they just feel a little... rushed? It's not resonating emotionally like season 1 was.
Like wdym Viktor just wakes up, immediately leaves and goes to heal the shimmer people in just a few minutes? Doesn't even stop to think about what happened with him, the attack on the council or have a proper conversation with Jayce? It feels a bit obvious that they have to fast-track his arc a bit.
Vi already becomes an enforcer in episode 1 and then stops being one at 3. And was apparently ready to let Caitlyn kill Jinx? Really? She gave up so soon on her already? I know their arc has supposedly been leading to them being enemies, but I was expecting her to still want to save Jinx and just be trying to convince Caitlyn with that "my sister is gone" bit. Again, the outcome itself is fine but it feels too fast emotionally, so it doesn't ring true.
I think rn the show is really hurting from this being the final season already. I feel like if they got 3 seasons instead they could have executed all of this better.

Ooh, your thoughts on the PMMM trailer are really interesting! Didn't think about mystery girl being a LoC personified, this is fun. Personally, I thought the voices are connected with either Homura or Walpurgis - though first makes more sense to me, especially because of Clara Dolls and echoing Homura's line about kindness.
Also about that line - I felt it was talking about Madoka.
"A radiance (Madokami) so kind, that it is even cruel (either call-back to her sacrificing herself and leaving people who loved her behind (her parents, friends, her little brother, Homura herself several times)) OR a call-back to Kriemhild Gretchen; or both!)"
Here's how Kriemhild Gretchen (Madoka's witch) is described:
"The Witch of Salvation. Her nature is mercy. She absorbs any life on the planet into her newly created heaven - her barrier. The only way to defeat this witch is to make the world free of misfortune. If there's no grief in this world, she will believe this world is already a heaven." (when she's all stringy and stretchy)
"The Witch of Despair. Her nature is direct petition. The mouthpiece for all the unfulfilled hopes of all spent magical girls. If a hope is born that can rewrite the universe, then at the same time, it is born from the mud of despair. Everlasting wailing fills her body, a continuously swelling, empty doll. At the end of a magical girl’s karma, this witch continues to swell to absurd sizes. And in the end, her body could even destroy the galaxy." (when she appears in episode 12, before Madokami shoots her; has a sun-moon face)
Homura often saw Madoka becoming magical girl out of kindness and then dying horribly about it, as well as her witch, and the flower field from Rebellion made her realise Madoka was putting on brave face when saying goodbye to her at the end of the series. And we see other girls' kindness being their undoing too - Sayaka, Kyoko, Homura deciding to give Kyubey another chance pre-Rebellion. And as non-Madoka example of cruel kindness or cruelty born of kindness: Mami in that one timeline she finds out about witches. So I think she has a lot Thoughts about that.
OOH, Kriemhild Gretchen being involved is a good call, especially cause there's this scene where it seems like it's Madoka witching out? I was thinking it might be mystery girl when it first showed on a previous trailer, but now I think it's really Madoka, the... smoke figure (?) is kinda pink and resembles Kriemhild Gretchen from ep 10.
Tumblr media
So if it's about that it would make a lot of sense and would connect to the other lines sounding Madoka-related.
I guess it's also possible the people speaking are Clara dolls. I was assuming they would have Homura's voice, since they seem to now be clones of her (?), but maybe not, or maybe they will evolve during the movie. Or maybe Homura's voice is in there somewhere and I just couldn't tell. Right now I personally really think it will be related to the new girls though. It feels like this movie has a loot going on from the trailers, I wonder how they'll make everything fit in...
