A Song of Threes
Whumpuary 2024 January 21-22, 2024 Blood/"Just Get It Over With"/Memories Jordan James (OC)/Drew Gulak/Tony Nese Mermaid/Sailor AU
Drew Gulak had never had the abilities of the other men in the small village that he grew up in. While the love he had found in his best friend Anthony Nese had always had the skills that being on a boat required, Andrew's head had always been up in the clouds. Anthony was strong and strapping, coming from a lifetime of pulling in nets and hoisting sails before becoming captain of his own vessel. Andrew had always been more interested in the lore of the lands, the stories of the stars in the sky and the creatures that were rumored to lurk underneath the waves.
Creatures like what Andrew was certain he had heard these last few months.
Despite not being interested in the physical duties of a ship, Andrew had taken quite well at navigation on one. It was all of his time reading star charts, he was certain. At night while other members of the ship slept, Drew would sit on the deck with Anthony at the helm. The singing had started low and slow, hitting Drew on a vulnerable level. He glanced up at Anthony, blinking back his tears, "Is...can you sing?"
Anthony raised an eyebrow, but did not take his eyes off of the horizon, "Can't say that I can. Singing is not a talent these lips are good with."
Andrew stood, crossing over to the railing of the ship, eyes cast on the inky black depths. The moon seemed to reflect silver against the horizon, a guiding beacon to the ship. Andrew could have sworn he saw something splash in the water, but he dismissed the sight.
・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆
The second time that Andrew had heard the song, the ship had been docked in port. Anthony had been entertaining the tavern with the tales of adventure on the open seas. Drew had not been interested in fabrications of the mainly boring details of their sailings. Drew had decided, instead, to sit by the docks and get some journaling done. As his feet dangled towards the sea, the song had begun again. Drew's eyes popped up from his leatherbound journal. 𝙃𝙤𝙬? How was that voice he had heard on the open waves here now?
This time his eyes caught sight of the shining scales dipping beneath the waves. His breath caught in his throat and a grin took his lips. Mermaids? No, no mermaid wasn't a truth in life. They were a sailor's omen, a horror that persisted to scare the men on a boat. Anthony had always told Drew his imagination would run away with him one day. This had to be proof of his imagination playing with him.
"I heard you once before," Drew called out into the darkness, "You don't have to hide from me!"
Drew noticed someone swimming through the waves, pulling in a breath. The young man was shirtless with shaggy black hair and shining blue eyes. The figure was thin, as if malnourished, and Drew could only think about how this was not what he had ever imagined, "Don't I? You're human."
Drew chuckled and coursed a hand through his shaggy brown hair, "Might be human, but I'm not dangerous. Not unless you're a book I intend to read."
The figure gave a wide grin, its tail splashing in the water. Drew could barely make out the color, a deep red flecked with spots of white and black. It reminded Drew of the books he read about the east, almost like what they called a koi fish. "You truly are a charming human."
"So the voice I've been hearing, the song, it's you? You've been following us?" Drew questioned, almost apprehensively.
"I saw you on your...uh..." the merman gestured to Anthony's nearby ship, The Trailblazer, "that."
"A ship," Drew supplied the word, gazing from where the empty vessel sat to his new friend. "It's called a ship."
"Ship," the merman repeated, "you have such odd words."
"What's your name?" Drew questioned, wide eyed with wonder, "I have so many questions, I-"
"Who are you talking to, Andrew?" the familiar voice sounded before Drew had heard the footsteps on the dock. He stood, turning to face what he now saw to be Anthony, his arm around the shoulders of the ships cabin boy, Noam.
"I just-" he heard the slap of the tail against the waves before he let out a sigh, "no one. I wasn't talking to anyone."
・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆
This time when he had heard the song, it had been too late to intervene.
Drew had been finishing up his morning routine when the singing had started. He had been surprised then when the low and slow melody he hadn't heard in weeks since setting sail, turned into a scream. Drew ran from the cabin he and Anthony shared to see Anthony looking proud as the rest of the crew stood around something on the deck, "What's going on? What is this?" Drew asked, an eyebrow raised.
"The singing. We finally found the source of that infernal singing," Anthony sounded proud, though there was a madness in his eyes, "it's a-"
Drew didn't wait for Anthony to finish his statement as he pushed through the crowd. Laying on the deck was his merman, though in a worse state than he had seen him before. The tail that had been so beautiful, so unique, was replaced instead by two human legs. The scales had left their marks in spots, leaving sore spots against the pale skin. Silver blood lay under him on the deck. "What have you done?" Drew hissed at his captain, "What in the Gods names did you do, Anthony?"
Anthony looked surprised, scratching through his thick beard, "I found the sound that plagues us, Andrew. I found something that will make us rich for years to come."
"This isn't right," Drew protested, kneeling down to take the figures hand, "I'm going to get you out of this..."
"The blood," the merman whimpered, "don't touch it. It's acidic..."
Drew gave a nod, taking a deep breath, "I swear, I'll get you out of here...uh..."
"Jordan," the merman whispered, "named for the river."

HOOK (FTW champion)
Keith Lee
Men's singles division - heels
Jon Moxley (AEW international champion)
Konosuke Takeshita
Samoa Joe (ROH television champion)
Ricky Starks
Claudio Castagnoli (ROH men's world champion)

Luchasaurus (AEW TNT champion)
Christian Cage
Powerhouse Hobbs
Juice Robinson
Unranked: AR Fox, Big Bill, Brock Anderson, Dalton Castle, Daniel Garcia, El Hijo del Vikingo (AAA mega champion), Ethan Page, Gravity, Isiah Kassidy, Jake Hager, Komander, Lee Johnson, Metalik*, Nick Wayne, Scorpio Sky, Serpentico, Shawn Spears, Shane Taylor, Swerve Strickland, Tony Nese, Wheeler Yuta
* Not listed on AEW's official roster
Feels like a lot of shakeup here, for a variety of reasons: The departure of CM Punk and the suspension of Jack Perry, MJF and Adam Cole becoming a hot babyface team, the dissolution of Chris Jericho's stable, and multiple guys returning to prominence on Collision.
It might seem weird to rank Danielson as the top babyface when he's clearly part of a heel faction. All I know is everybody loved him at Forbidden Door, and he was clearly playing babyface against Starks this weekend. Does that mean a turn or a breakup in the Blackpool Combat Club's future? I doubt it. Either way, I'm sure Danielson will be back to kicking puppies or whatever soon enough.
It's striking to me how Cassidy and Kingston have risen up through the ranks, but I also think it's worth callint out how pivotal Samoa Joe has become. He's become a fixture on Collision and ROH, and now he's mixing it up with MJF. It's strange to me that he's running around with ROH's midcard title when he's being pushed ahead of Castagnoli. Maybe those two need to face off one of these days.
Men's tag team division - babyfaces
Better Than You Bay Bay - MJF (AEW men's world champion) & Adam Cole (ROH tag team champions)
FTR - Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler (AEW tag team champions)
The Young Bucks - Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson
The Hardys - Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy
Darby Allin & Sting
Best Friends - Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta
Lucha Bros. - Penta El Zero Miedo & Rey Fenix
Action Andretti & Darius Martin
The Outrunners - Truth Magnum* & Turbo Floyd*
Men's tag team division - heels
The Gunns - Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn
Aussie Open - Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher
John Silver & Alex Reynolds
Mike Santana & Angel Ortiz
Matt Menard & Angelo Parker
Vincent* & Dutch*
The Wingmen - Peter Avalon & Ryan Nemeth*
* Not listed on AEW's official roster
I'm actually not sure if the Outrunners are supposed to be faces or heels, but I like 'em, so there. I'm also not sure how long Rey Fenix is supposed to be out selling the injury angle from two weeks ago.
Conspicuous by their absence on this list is the Kigndom, Matt Taven and Mike Bennett, who are obviously being set up for a big match with Cole and MJF. At this point I don't see anyone else taking the ROH tag title from the champs, but very little about the Cole/MJF story has gone the way I expected. Maybe they could headline Final Battle in December?
As for the AEW tag title, I assume FTR vs. Gunns is the next step, but there's probably another FTR-Bucks showdown coming sooner or later. If Santana and Ortiz are really sticking together, they need to get back in the title hunt. I suspect Silver and Reynolds are out of the running after losing last night--they'll probably get back to trios matches with Evil Uno.
Men's trios division - babyfaces
Max Caster & Anthony Bowens & Billy Gunn (AEW trios champions)
Bronson* & Boulder* & Jacked Jameson*
Men's trios division - heels
Malakai Black & Brody King & Buddy Matthews
Brian Cage & Bishop Kaun* & Toa Liona* (ROH trios champions)
Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal & Satnam Singh
QT Marshall (AAA Latin American champion) & Johnny TV & Aaron Solo
Kip Sabian & The Butcher & The Blade
* Not listed on AEW's official roster
It's still hard to tell which trios are sticking together long term, and which ones are just thrown together for a couple of matches before going their separate ways again. As it stands, though, we've got a few heel teams for Billy and the Acclaimed to fight for a while. Cage's team has mostly defended their ROH title in glorified squash matches; if they're building them up to be unseated by a serious team, I have no idea when that will happen.
Women's singles division - babyfaces
Britt Baker
Kris Statlander (AEW TBS champion)
Hikaru Shida
Willow Nightingale
Skye Blue
Women's singles division - heels
Saraya (AEW women's world champion)
Athena (ROH women's world champion)
Toni Storm
Ruby Soho
Nyla Rose
Anna Jay
Taya Valkyrie
Mercedes Martinez
Diamante
Marina Shafir
Unranked: Emi Sakura, The Bunny
The heel side looks very strong until you recall that many of them have only had one televised AEW match all month. Nevertheless, it feels like it's time for some women to turn face, and I suppose the breakup of Storm, Saraya, and Soho will help in that regard. Thing is, the women's roster has more than enough talent to get 10 faces and 10 heels on TV regularly; they just don't for some reason. Maybe if Mercedes Mone comes in that will change, but experience has taught me that it'll take more than that.
Only wrestled in ROH matches in past 30 days: Angelico, Brandon Cutler, Christopher Daniels, Evil Uno, Griff Garrison, Josh Woods, Kiera Hogan, Lee Moriarty, Leila Grey, Leyla Hirsch, Luther, Madison Rayne, Matt Sydal, Shawn Dean
Most of the names here are not what you'd call key players on the weekly ROH shows. In other words, the real backbone of the ROH roster is mostly people wrestlers who aren't exclusive to either brand, like Athena, Willow, Joe, Dalton, etc. That's working out as far as the quality of both brands, but I'm not sure it's a good strategy for establishing a unique brand identity for ROH.
No televised AEW or ROH matches in over 30 days: Abadon, Andrade El Idolo, Anthony Ogogo, Ari Daivari, Colt Cabana, Dustin Rhodes, Harley Cameron, Julia Hart, Lance Archer, Matt Taven, Michael Nakazawa, Mike Bennett, Nick Comoroto, Parker Bordreaux, Penelope Ford, Preston Vance, Red Velvet, Riho, Rush, Sammy Guevara, Serena Deeb, Stu Grayson, Wardlow, Yuka Sakazaki, Zack Clayton
Part-time/semi-retired: Kota Ibushi, Will Ospreay*, Paige Vanzant, Paul Wight, Rebel, Rob Van Dam*, Sonjay Dutt, Stokely Hathaway
* Not listed on AEW's official roster

CORE Pro presents The Co-Op 2023 TrustBusters: Afterlife 03/31/23 Pico Union Project - Los Angeles, California Attendance: 304
Match #1
The New Brainbusters (Brock Anderson and Tessa Blanchard) vs. Koto Hiro and Stephanie Vaquer - Stephanie Vaquer connected with a springboard dive to the outside on Tessa Blanchard, but as Vaquer climbed back on the apron Brock Anderson whipped Koto Hiro into the ropes and Hiro and Vaquer bumped heads which sent Vaquer to the floor. Back in the ring, Brock Anderson got Koto Hiro up for a piledriver and Tessa Blanchard came off the top rope to spike Hiro and help pick up the win. Winners: The New Brainbusters
- After the match Stephanie Vaquer again attacked her partner, planting Koto Hiro with a tombstone in the middle of the ring before walking off in disgust.
Match #2
JeeVeS K vs. Fred Rosser - JeeVeS K hooked Fred Rosser's arm and lifted him up for a high angle delayed DDT, but Rosser squirmed back to his feet and drove JeeVeS K into the corner. Rosser gained wrist control and twisted JeeVeS to the mat with a hammerlock and cinched in the hammerlock STF. Before JeeVeS K could tap out, Sonny Kiss and Slim J hit the ring and attacked Fred Rosser and the referee called for the bell. Winner: Fred Rosser
- Earlier that afternoon while filming some promotional material for the official CORE Foursquare Swarm page at Panaderia Cuscatleca, Swerve Strickland was approached by Parker Boudreaux and Trench. Boudreaux said he understood Swerve's disappointment, that he and Trench were disappointed in themselves for not stepping up to the opportunity Swerve offered them. Boudreaux told Swerve that he does have loyalty to Ari Daivari and the TrustBusters, but that he also has loyalty to Swerve and just wants tonight to be a fair fight and offered to watch Swerve's back to make sure no one interferes in his match. Swerve told them both that he's not sure if he can trust them, but as long as it's not Parker or Trench attacking him, they're cool. The men shook hands before parting ways.
Match #3
Parker Boudreaux and Trench vs. Tony Nese and Josh Woods - Josh Woods applied the heel hook to Trench. Trench powered up to his right knee with his left leg still fully extended in Woods' grasp. Tony Nese came off the top rope with a 450 splash onto Trench's leg. Trench cried out in pain and tapped out as Woods reapplied the submission. Winners: Tony Nese and Josh Woods
- Trench was helped out of the venue by Parker Boudreaux and emergency personnel. Trench was transported to the USC Medical Center with Boudreaux by his side.
Match #4
Lio Rush vs. Michael Oku - Michael Oku tried to turn Lio Rush over into the single leg crab, but Rush got to his feet and connected with an enzuigiri. Oku was staggered and then hit by Lio Rush's bottom rope rebound stunner and Lio got the pinfall. Winner: Lio Rush
Match #5
Sonny Kiss and Slim J vs. Good Looking Guys (Anthony Greene and Jack Morris) - Jack Morris tried for the tiger driver on Slim J, but Sonny Kiss broke it up with a superkick and Slim J lifted Morris up for the Jig 'n Tonic and hooked the legs for a three count. Winners: Sonny Kiss and Slim J
Match #6
Ari Daivari vs. Swerve Strickland - Ari Daivari hit his hammerlock lariat on Swerve Strickland and went up top for the frog splash, but Swerve got his knees up. Swerve landed the House Call kick to the back of Daivari's head and went up to the top when Sonny Kiss, JeeVeS K, and Slim J made their way to ringside. Swerve jumped off the top rope and took all three men out on the floor with a crossbody. Swerve climbed back up to the top rope for a double stomp on Ari Daivari, but Daivari and got his boot straight up and kicked Swerve in the groin. Daivari made the cover, got the win, and did not have to return the money Swerve paid for the contract of Parker Boudreaux. Winner: Ari Daivari
- The second night of the Co-Op ended with CORE’s AI Generated ring announcer Good Time Charlie detailing the full cards for tomorrow.

Late for the predictions, but HERE I AM!!
(Being extra fancy here and coloring who I think will win)
REVOLUTION ZERO PRE SHOW: Mark Briscoe, Penta El Zero Miedo, and Rey Fenix vs. Josh Woods, Ari Daivari, and Tony Nese. (I'm excited for this matchup!)
REVOLUTION TIME!! (this is gonna be out of order)
Ricky Starks vs. Chris Jericho with the Jericho Appreciation Society banned from ringside (somethings telling me he's gonna pull something, as much as I want Ricky to win)
Christian Cage vs. “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry in a Final Burial match (crossing my fingers for film stuff!!!)
Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn vs. “The Acclaimed” Max Caster and Anthony Bowens vs. Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal vs. Orange Cassidy and Danhausen in a four-way for the AEW Tag Team Titles (Orange and Danhausen and Acclaimed are both highlighted because 1. If it's how I think it's gonna go, they might be the last 2 teams standing and 2. I want either one to win)
The Elite vs House of Black for the Trio's Championship (crossing my fingers someone getting misted)
Samoa Joe vs. Wardlow for the TNT Championship (Also pretty excited for this one as well)
Jon Moxley vs. Hangman Page in a Texas Death match AKA the match that's gonna fry my brain afterwards (Ok, this one was a tough choice, but Hangman winning and giving his all would be a nice closing for this feud)
Jamie Hayter vs. Saraya vs. Ruby Soho in a three-way for the AEW Women’s Championship (not gonna lie, haven't been paying attention fully to this one, but I'm pulling for Soho to win, or just for Hayter to retain)
MJF vs. Bryan Danielson in a sixty-minute Iron Man Match for the AEW World Championship (Another tough choice geeze...I'm actually gonna pull for MJF on this one. Yes he's getting a special color.)
#And that's it!#Now to tune into Revolution Zero#Probably won't be on as much until after so see y'all tomorrow#aew

5 The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson) (c)
vs. The House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews) Six-man tag team match for the AEW World Trios Championship.
I can't call this match (you'll see that a few times on this lol), I really can't call it , is it the HOBs time? Hell yeah but has it been built up to anyone taking the titles from the boys? No ...
Gonna go with the elite and hope it's wrong lol but I love them both so I'm good for whoever wins.
6 Jamie Hayter (c) vs. Saraya vs. Ruby Soho Three-way match for the AEW Women's World Championship
Jamie
But I feel there's gonna be shenanigans with Britt and Toni.
7 Jon Moxley vs. "Hangman" Adam Page : Texas Death match.
Okay now I'm gonna be watching this through my fingers, I love them both but it's time for Jon to have a break he's been carrying this company on his back for almost 8 months.

YO LISTENNNNN , the acclaimed have been so over for a year taking the titles off them was a stupid idea give my boys there belts back!
I'd love to see Danhausen with a belt though...
10 MJF (c) vs. Bryan Danielson 60-minute Iron man match for the AEW World Championship

I’ve written about Maxwell Jacob Feinstein before.......the hot stud that loves to dominate and destroy in the ring, at a young age loves to tear down bigger, older dudes and humiliate them with their loss! He has huge fuckin monster arms to admire, a bit of hair on his mass chest, but this cocky attitude says it all! He loves being a cocky fuckin asshole.......which is pretty hot! I also love above how the belt sits on his crotch, really showing it off!!!!!
He’s looking better with some stubble on his face......his typical post, arms up, cocky as fuck........
That bulge.......
The fuckin monster arms......he knows he works hard at the gym, he loves to show it off.......
Arrogance at its finest........
Here he does a hot job beating up on Anthony fuckin Nese!!!

ROH Fake Rankings, 12/2/2023
Men's singles division - babyfaces
Eddie Kingston (ROH men's world champion, STRONG men's champion)
Dalton Castle
El Hijo del Vikingo (AAA mega champion)
Komander (AAA cruiserweight champion)
Ethan Page
Lee Johnson
Gravity
Trent Beretta
Metalik
Willie Mack
Men's singles division - heels
Wheeler Yuta (ROH pure champion)
Brian Cage (ROH trios champion)
Kyle Fletcher
Tony Nese
Josh Woods
Evil Uno
Nick Comoroto
Unranked: Fred Rosser, Gringo Loco, Jack Cartwheel, Slim J, SK Bishop
After Tony Khan launched AEW in 2019, ROH went through a bit of a dark age until Khan acquired the promotion in 2022. Few names from that era remain on the roster--Castle, Yuta, and Woods are the most prominent on the weekly TV series right now.
We're two weeks away from ROH's next pay-per-view, Final Battle, and the men's side only has one match announced--a six-way for the television title, which Samoa Joe abandoned. Joe is putting his focus on chasing the AEW men's world champion MJF, who has been one of the ROH tag team champions for three months and has yet to appear on an ROH show. As for the six-way, only Castle and Komander have been confirmed as participants thus far.
I assume there won't be a men's world title match on the PPV, since Kingston is busy with AEW's Continental Classic tournament. Similarly the pure title has seen more action in AEW than ROH. Brian Cage and the trios title are effectively on ice until his tag partners return from New Japan's World Tag League.
I have no doubt Final Battle will end up being a good show. But with ROH in the state it's in, the quality of the show will largely depend on how many big names from AEW (or perhaps New Japan) will come in for exactly one night, tear the house down, and then not stick around. That approach isn't going to convince people to pay $10/month for the weekly TV.
Men's tag team division - babyfaces
Darius Martin & Action Andretti
Dralistico & Preston Vance
Iron Savages - Boulder & Bronson
Shawn Dean & Carlie Bravo
Christopher Daniels & Matt Sydal
The Outrunners - Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd
Colt Cabana & Brandon Cutler
The Boys - Brandon Tate & Brent Tate
The Bollywood Boyz - Gurv Shira & Harv Shira
Men's tag team division - heels
Gates of Agony - Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona (ROH trios champions)
The Righteous - Vincent Marseglia & Bobby Dutch
The Butcher & The Blade
Shane Taylor Promotions - Shane Taylor & Lee Moriarty
The Workhorsemen - Anthony Henry & JD Drake
Cole Karter & Griff Garrison
Spanish Announce Project - Serpentico & Angelico
The Wingmen - Ryan Nemeth & Peter Avalon
The West Coast Wrecking Crew - Jorel Nelson & Royce Isaacs
Unranked: Jacoby Watts & Sebastian Wolfe, Trevor Outlaw & GPA
On paper this looks like a stacked tag team division. However, most of the teams listed are booked like jobbers when they appear on AEW teleivison, and get booked 50/50 in ROH matches. I think the Iron Savages, the Infantry (Dean/Bravo and Trish Adora), and the Outrunners have a ton of potential, but I can't fool myself into thinking they're being pushed right now. Andretti/Martin and the Righteous are presented like big deals, but their win-loss records don't reflect that--hell, the Righteous couldn't even beat MJF two-on-one.
The main exception is Kaun and Liona, who are booked like monsters. But there's no sense of that leading to them challenging for the ROH tag title. The main idea is that they're part of a monster trio with Brian Cage. But after a year at the top of the trios division, they've destroyed every possible trio combination on this roster, and it feels like only an AEW superteam could topple them.
Women's division - babyfaces
Willow Nightingale
Billie Starkz
Leyla Hirsch
Rachael Ellering
Kiera Hogan
Trish Adora
Women's division - heels
Athena (ROH women's world champion)
Marina Shafir
Nyla Rose
Mercedes Martinez
Diamante
Emi Sakura
Robyn Renegade
Charlette Renegade
Unranked: Amira, Brooke Havok, Heather Reckless, Heidi Howitzer, Johnnie Robbie, Kel, Ronda Rousey, Zoey Lynn
The biggest storyline in ROH lately has been Athena training Starkz to be her "minion," and feuding with Shafir, until Starkz flipped out on both Shafir and Athena, and challenged Athena for the title at Final Battle. At this point I'm not sure which of the three are supposed to end up being babyfaces or heels, but the story's still in progress.
They're also doing a thing with Hirsch trying to decide whether Ellering or Maria Kanellis truly has her back. So good for ROH for actually having multiple women's storylines, although I wish the second one wasn't the same passive-agressive "are you really my friend?" stuff we see all the time in women's wrestling.
The Renegades have gotten involved with both of these storylines, in tag matches against Athena/Starkz and Ellering/Hirsch. That's a good idea to keep things interesting. Unfortunately the Renegades have the same problem the Bella Twins had in WWE--their whole deal is being a cohesive duo, but the promotion doesn't have a women's tag team title for them to dominate.
OK, this next part is where I list wrestlers who are on the roster but haven't had a match in over a month. Thing is, ROH doesn't really have an official roster. So this is just a selection of wrestlers who are either on AEW's official roster or free agents that seem to be ROH regulars.
No televised ROH matches in 30 days: Allysin Kay, Blake Christian (GCW world champion), Kip Sabian, Lady Frost, Marti Belle, QT Marshall, Rocky Romero (CMLL historic welterweight champion), Scorpio Sky, Skye Blue
No televised ROH matches in 60 days: Angelina Love, AR Fox, Claudio Castagnoli, Chuck Taylor, Jimmy Jacobs, Leila Grey, Nick Wayne, Silas Young
Last televised ROH match between June 1 and August 31: Alex Reynolds, Big Bill (AEW tag team champion), Cheeseburger, Daniel Garcia, Eli Isom, Jacked Jameson, John Silver, Leon Ruffin, Madison Rayne, Mark Briscoe, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Miranda Alize, Penta El Zero Miedo, Rey Fenix, Rhett Titus, Samoa Joe, Stokely Hathaway, Stu Grayson, Tracy Williams
Looking at all these names, you can see talent that will probably be back before long, and others who have clearly moved on. I really doubt Castagnoli and Samoa Joe will be back. The Kingdom (Taven and Bennett) feel integral to 2020s ROH, but their AEW act with Roderick Strong is so hot right now that it'd be silly to move them back here. In other cases (for example, Isom, Cheeseburger, Williams, Titus) I never know if they're just on a hiatus or if Tony Khan has just decided to stop booking them altogether.
I would guess about half of these names will return to ROH now and then over the next six months. But "will return" could mean "will appear weekly leading to a PPV match" or just "will do one match and then nothing for another six months."
Inactive
Bandido (left wrist - triangular fibrocartilage complex tear)
Katsuyori Shibata (leave of absence)
There's no way to know if either of these guys will be ROH regulars when they return, but they were when we last saw them. By the same token, Dante Martin (who was injured on an ROH show months ago and has just made his return) could be headed back here or maybe he won't.
Conspicuous by their absence on this list are the ROH tag team champions, since Adam Cole hasn't wrestled under the ROH brand since 2017, and MJF never has. I thought it was possible they'd at least show up for Final Battle, but there's no timetable for Cole's return from an ankle injury. MJF could show up to defend the tag belts solo, or with a substitute partner. But considering he's working through a torn labrum, and trying to make it to the December 30 show, Final Battle is probably a low priority for his schedule.
