The kitchen of 35 Portland row was surprisingly quiet this morning.
The whole team sat at the table, quietly eating breakfast and doing their own thing. Lucy chatted with Skull, who was sat on the kitchen counter, while George fiddled with his latest trinket and Lockwood read the morning paper.
Your gaze lingered too long on your secret boyfriend across the table—his dark hair falling across his forehead as he studied the newspaper intently, completely oblivious to your attention. Though he remained unaware of your fond observation, his glasses-wearing best friend caught your lingering look with a knowing glance, causing you to quickly avert your eyes to your barely-touched breakfast.
Hiding your relationship wasn't the original plan, but something always seemed to derail your attempts to tell your friends. When George was stood up on a date, it didn't feel right to share the news. Then Lucy's ghost-touch incident took precedence. Now, after keeping it secret for so long, you worry that revealing the truth would cause drama when they realize how long you've been hiding it.
So you continue to steal secret glances and share hidden moments, like the brush of hands when passing the salt or lingering touches while washing dishes. Sometimes you catch yourself wondering if the others have noticed these small gestures, but they seem too caught up in their own routines to pay attention. Still, there's a part of you that wishes you could just get it over with and tell them.
"So, any plans for today?" Lockwood asks casually, carefully folding the newspaper and setting it down beside his half-empty teacup. "We're running low on supplies, and the pantry needs restocking. I noticed we're almost out of tea and those biscuits everyone likes. I could handle the shopping after we finish breakfast," he offers, absently straightening the paper's edges on the wooden table surface.
"I can go with you," you find yourself saying before you can stop yourself, heart fluttering at the possibility of a few precious moments alone together. Lucy glances up from her conversation with Skull, her expression curious. "We'll need quite a bit - might be good to have an extra pair of hands," you add quickly, trying to sound casual despite the knowing look George shoots your way.
"Well, that's settled then," Lockwood says with a bright smile, already standing and reaching for his coat. "We should head out soon before it gets too crowded at the shops." You try not to notice how George's smirk widens as you hurriedly finish your toast, preparing to leave.

As you follow Lockwood out into the crisp morning air, you can't help but smile at the prospect of having him to yourself, even if only for a simple shopping trip. The familiar weight of your rapier at your hip reminds you that even mundane errands require precaution in this ghost-filled city. Still, you find yourself looking forward to these stolen moments together, where you can simply be yourselves without worrying about maintaining appearances.
It takes about five minutes of walking through the winding London streets before you notice the unfamiliar buildings and realize you're going in completely the wrong direction. The morning fog has started to lift, revealing shop signs and landmarks you don't recognize from your usual route to the market. "Uh, Anthony? The shops are the other way..." you say hesitantly, watching as he continues to stride purposefully down the cobblestone path.
He turns back to you with that familiar mischievous grin, the one that never fails to make your heart skip a beat. "I know a shortcut," he says, reaching for your hand when he's sure no one else is around. "Trust me?" The warmth of his fingers intertwining with yours makes you forget all about questioning his sense of direction.
You follow him down a narrow side street, the morning bustle of London fading behind you. The shortcut, as it turns out, leads to a secluded courtyard with an old stone fountain at its center. Here, hidden from prying eyes by weathered brick walls and climbing ivy, Lockwood pulls you close and steals a proper good morning kiss—the kind you've been wanting since breakfast.
The kiss lingers, sweet and unhurried, until distant footsteps echo off the cobblestones and remind you both of where you are. You reluctantly step apart, though your fingers remain intertwined. "We should probably actually get to the shops at some point," you murmur, unable to keep from smiling as Lockwood brushes a strand of hair from your face.
"I suppose we should," he agrees with a soft laugh, though he makes no immediate move to leave. "George will never let us hear the end of it if we come back without those biscuits he loves." The thought of your friend's relentless grudges spurs you both into motion, and you reluctantly release each other's hands as you step back onto the main street.
The morning air has grown warmer as you make your way to the shops, falling into an easy rhythm of casual conversation. You can't help but notice how naturally you and Lockwood move together through the streets, maintaining a respectable distance while sharing secret smiles. As you round the corner toward the market, the familiar bustle of morning shoppers comes into view, and you both seamlessly slip back into your professional demeanor.
The shop is already bustling with activity when you arrive, filled with the chatter of employees and customers alike. As you weave through the crowd with your shopping list in hand, you notice Lockwood's subtle protective stance whenever someone brushes too close. It would be endearing if you weren't trying so hard to maintain your professional facade in public.
You focus on the task at hand, methodically checking items off your list as you navigate from aisle to aisle. The morning crowd ebbs and flows around you, and you find yourself grateful for Lockwood's steady presence at your side. When your hands brush as you both reach for the same tin of tea, you share a quick glance that speaks volumes, though anyone watching would see nothing more than two colleagues shopping for supplies.
As you finish gathering the last few items, you notice Lockwood checking his watch with a slight frown. "We should probably head back soon," he murmurs, shifting the heavy shopping bags in his arms. The walk home feels shorter somehow, filled with comfortable silence and the occasional brush of shoulders as you navigate the morning crowds.
Just before reaching Portland Row, Lockwood pulls you into one last secluded spot for a quick kiss. "Thank you for coming with me," he whispers against your lips, making you shiver despite the warmth of the morning. You both take a moment to compose yourselves before rounding the final corner to face whatever knowing looks await at home.
Back inside the warmth of 35 Portland Row, you find George and Lucy exactly where you left them, though now they're engaged in what appears to be an intense debate with Skull about proper tea-steeping times. As you unpack the groceries, you catch George's subtle smirk and wonder, not for the first time, just how much he's figured out. The morning settles back into its familiar rhythm, but you can't help smiling to yourself as you remember the stolen moments in the hidden courtyard.
The warmth of contentment settles over you as you put away the last of the groceries, sneaking one more glance at Lockwood as he joins the debate about tea. These secret moments you share, though fleeting, make the challenge of hiding your relationship worth it—at least for now. Perhaps someday soon you'll find the right moment to tell them all, but for now, you're content with these stolen bits of happiness woven into your everyday routine.

Deck the Halls (and not your partner) - part 3
Word count: 3.9k

series master list
Anthony Lockwood was starting to think that this family Christmas would be a disaster.
He had no issue with playing the perfect boyfriend at all; in fact, he was doing rather brilliantly at it.
But something wasn't quite right with Y/n.
Now he didn't know how large families were meant to work, since his own relatives were either gone or lived too far away and his only experience with larger gatherings was the few times he'd been to George's, but he did know that the snide remarks about how much cake Y/n should be given and the fake laughter from her aunt wasn't particularly regular.
The cake and tea situation had certainly been strange.
Normally Y/n went through around four cups of tea before noon, and if cake was offered she would have such a large slice that Lockwood would often joke about leaving some for the rest of them. Instead of cracking one of those jokes that afternoon, he was currently staring at her half-drunk mug and a plate of cake that hadn't even been eaten, and Y/n was in the toilet instead of glaring at him.
He didn't exactly like her, but he hadn't been raised to not be a gentleman. He excused himself with a smile, pushing himself out of the loveseat and making his way out of the living room in a search for his fake girlfriend. It took him nearly five minutes to check all the bathrooms in the house, and naturally the last one that he knocked on was the one she was in. There hadn't been any answer, but he had heard sniffles from the other side of the door of their en-suite bathroom and had assumed that it was Y/n.
"Are you alright?" He was starting to get tired of asking that question, but she was clearly not alright, and if this whole charade went wrong then she'd just have more reason to hate him, so he was attempting to carry out damage control.
"I'm fine, just... go back downstairs, Lockwood."
"Anthony."
"Whatever." He could hear her huff in annoyance, and bit back a retort, instead settling for a frown. Lockwood sat down, his legs pulled up to his chest and his arms wrapped around his knees to keep his balance as he leant backwards.
"I'm not going back without you," he said to the door. "Your sister looks like she's going to eat me alive, and I don't think I'll be given the satisfaction of dying afterwards which scares me."
"...What?"
"I said that-"
"I heard what you said, I just... don't know what you mean."
"Your sister... is going... to eat me. And I don't mean 'she's going to eat me like Christmas dinner', I mean 'she's going to... eat... me." He was trying to get his point across through euphemisms, but apparently that wasn't working. It didn't help that Y/n couldn't see his face or hand gestures, but at least he heard the door lock click.
He had barely registered the sound before the door opened behind him and he fell backwards, only being stopped from landing on his back like an upside down beetle by Y/n's legs.
"What the fuck are you doing? Get off the floor, you dipshit."
He stood up, brushing himself off and turning around to inspect her face. She'd obviously been crying, but was trying to hide it, and was now shoving past him into the bedroom.
"What do you mean, eat you?"
"You know..." he gestured vaguely, now feeling embarrassed. He sighed when Y/n only looked quizzically at him. "She keeps looking at me like she wants to fuck me and it's making me uncomfortable."
"Oh, poor you. What a shame for you."
"Oh shove off." She was irritating him again. At least that meant she was somewhat back to normal. "Are you going to come back downstairs? I think your mother has nearly finished cooking dinner."
"Right... uh- I don't know, really." She was folding her arms now, closing in on herself and looking away. Lockwood felt like he was missing something, the key piece of the puzzle that would give him all the answers, and it was frustrating him. It was so close, he was sure of it, but what 'it' was he couldn't say.
"Well you can't leave me down there on my own! You dragged me up here to be your boyfriend for the holidays!"
"You'll be fine. You're great in these situations!"
"Yeah but this is your family, Y/n, you should spend time with them. You never know when-" He couldn't finish, his throat closing up slightly.
"I don't exactly want to spend time around them when I have to pretend that I'm hopelessly in love with you!"
"Well you don't have to go that far with it!"
"Oh like you aren't? What was that earlier? 'Best Touch in England' and 'there's nothing that could have stopped me from falling for your daughter'!"
"I've got to butter them up somehow, haven't I?" She huffed again.
"Look. I have no issue with pretending to date you. I have no issue with pretending to date you in front of my family to make them think I'm not a lair, even though I am. What I do have an issue with is you trying to tell me how to live my life in my own home, and how to act. I know my family, Lockwood, and I know what I'm doing."
"Do you? Because so far I've seen you leave half a mug of tea and an entire slice of cake, which is entirely unlike you. And what the hell was that thing that happened with Stephanie saying you don't need a large slice? Is that why you don't want to come down for dinner?"
"No, it's not that, I just... Stephanie always makes comments about me because she doesn't like me, and I don't really feel like spending an entire meal being watched by her."
"Well then I'll tell them you're not feeling well because of the journey and could we eat up here!"
"You-!" she was still shouting, but broke off when she registered his words. He had only just realised what he'd said himself, and he was taken aback at his offer. "That... would actually be nice, actually. If you don't mind."
"No, I don't. It means I don't have to fake liking you for a while."
Y/n scoffed, but she looked somewhat less disgruntled than she had before.
~~~
Ten minutes later Lockwood was knocking on the door, demanding to be let in.
"Seriously, can you hurry up? My arms are going to fall off in a second!"
"You are such a drama queen," she replied as she opened the door. He would never survive as a waiter, which was surprising since given he had clearly practiced with a rapier for years and had a strong throw, Y/n had assumed that he had somewhat sturdy arms. With the way he was acting now anyone would think he'd never held a thing in his life.
"Yeah, sure, let me come in. I need to put this down, I think I'm going to die."
"Fucking idiot," she muttered, stepping back and allowing him room to walk inside. He put the tray down on the desk, dragging over a second chair to put beside the one that was already there and sitting down. Y/n stood nearby, unsure about sharing a meal with Lockwood as he got stuck in, but then he paused for a moment and looked back at her with a frown.
"Well? Are you going to sit down? Imagine what your family will say when they find out I let you starve."
"Of course all you're worried about is what other people will think of you," she grumbled, reluctantly pulling out the desk chair and sitting on it.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"You're so obsessed with your image, Lockwood. It's a wonder that nobody has suffocated on your ego yet."
"I am not obsessed!"
"Ok, sure. Remind me, how long did you spend on your hair this morning?" Y/n asked, her face the picture of innocence. Lockwood floundered for a moment, then stuck a forkful of food in his mouth.
"That's irrelevant."
"I think it's entirely relevant."
"Shut up and eat your veg, Schmoopie."
Y/n threw a piece of carrot at him, and laughed when it landed in his hair and made him shriek.
~~~
Y/n had snuck downstairs with their empty plates and glasses while Lockwood used the toilet.
She had thought she could simply put everything in the dishwasher and go right back upstairs, but just as she closed the door to the machine and turned around she was greeted by her cousin.
"So," Stephanie started, attempting (the key word being 'attempted') to look disinterested. Y/n internally groaned, knowing exactly where this was leading. "How long have you two been... a thing?"
"8 months. And it's not a 'thing', Steph. He's my boyfriend."
"Sure, sure." Her tone suggested that she didn't believe Y/n at all, and was agreeing with her in much the same way that one might agree with a child who had said something wrong, but looked proud of themselves for saying it. "How'd it happen, then? Who asked who? What was the first kiss like?"
"Steph, I'm really tired, alright? And I'm only going to have to repeat this story multiple times tomorrow to literally fifty people, so please just let me go to bed and I'll make sure you're the first one I tell in the morning, yeah?" Y/n started heading for the door, pushing past her cousin.
"Oh, so you have more time to come up with the perfect lie?" Stephanie's words made her freeze with one foot out of the kitchen, and when she turned back the other girl was stood with a smug smile on her face.
"What do you mean?" Shit, her voice was shaking, and she was certain that if Stephanie came any closer she would see the slight sweat that had broken out on her forehead.
"Oh please. Nobody like him would ever go for someone like you, Y/n. I mean, he is way out of your league!"
"Personally I think that Y/n is way out of my league, but each to their own, I suppose." She hadn't even heard Lockwood come in, but now he was wrapping his arm around her waist like it belonged there and smiling softly at her like they hadn't been arguing about five minutes before (the argument was about something pointless, but that didn't stop Y/n from gloating when he gave in and said that she was right). "You alright, darling?"
"Yeah, just tired. Could we-"
"Oh, since you're both here, maybe you could share the story of how it all happened?" Stephanie cut her off, and completely ignored Y/n's responding scowl.
"I think we'll save that for tomorrow, Steph. If it'll make you happy we'll tell everyone at the same time and give a big speech," Lockwood said, and Y/n's insides started churning at the thought. She would have to find a way to convince Lockwood to do all the talking, or even her deaf older relatives would know that this whole relationship was a farce.
"Well, how about a kiss then? I still find it hard to believe that my little baby cousin has a boyfriend!"
"There's two months between out birthdays, Steph. It's really not that much. And we're not just going to kiss for your entertainment!"
"Aw, darling, you wound me. You don't want an excuse to kiss me?" Y/n could tell that Lockwood was having far too much fun with this, pouting and clutching his chest, pretending to stagger backwards in pain, and finally offering up his mouth in a ridiculous attempt to gain a kiss. She knew that he didn't actually want to kiss her, and what he really wanted was to rile her up, but she couldn't help but feel nerves in her stomach at the idea of it.
"Not really. You get enough of them as it is, Anthony." It felt weird, his first name in her mouth, and he paused for a moment in his actions to stare at her, tilting his head and frowning slightly.
"Oh, just one little kiss? You are under mistletoe, after all," Stephanie piped up again, pointing gleefully at the plant that had been badly taped to the doorframe.
The doorframe that Lockwood was leaning against, and that Y/n was stood under.
Shit.
They had an audience now, since her parents and siblings had come out of the living room to see what the conversation was about in the kitchen. Even her grandparents had emerged from their downstairs bedroom to join in. Y/n swallowed thickly as she looked around at everyone, her eyes finally landing on Lockwood. His frown was still in place, but his face was more relaxed. He pushed off of the doorframe, stepping forward and placing his hands on Y/n's waist as he leaned in a little.
"Is this... I mean... do you-?"
"We probably should. We were gonna have to at some point, right?" He was close enough now that she could feel his breath on her cheek, and his eyes kept flicking between hers and her mouth.
"Right." Lockwood brought a hand up to her face, holding her jaw gently as though he thought she might break if he applied any more pressure. His nose was brushing hers, and she had to push herself up on her toes and wrap her arms around his neck to bring her lips to his.
The kiss was short, only a couple of seconds at most, but as soon as they pulled away from each other she missed it.
Why did she miss it?
Claps from Y/n's family followed shortly after, and she was glad for once that Lockwood had no sense of personal space because it meant that she could hide her face in his chest without it coming across as strange to him, since he hadn't let go of her waist.
She absolutely could not start craving a real relationship with Anthony Lockwood.
Not when they hated each other with a burning passion.
And especially not when she had previously heard him say that he would never like her because she was 'not good enough for the company'.
No, she couldn't crave a thing with him other than their usual dynamic.
~~~
Lockwood was warm.
They had turned out the light and gone to bed about forty minutes ago, and after around twenty he had heard Y/n's breathing even out as she drifted off. As per usual he was still awake, left to stare up at the ceiling while he tried everything he could think of to fall asleep.
Normally it was the fear of nightmares that kept him awake, and if anybody asked tomorrow he would tell them that, or possibly something about how he was so used to working at night that he now found it difficult to sleep.
Realistically, though, he was too warm.
He had contemplated the pros and cons of taking off his pyjamas (pro: he'd be cooler, con: Y/n might scream at him and attack him with a blunt object) for the last thirty minutes, and had heard an owl hoot for the sixth time. He was also relatively sure that there was a fox somewhere outside the house, but since he had spent his whole life living in the city he wasn't entirely sure what they sounded like. The ghosts normally attacked any animals that tried to make a home in London, and as such wildlife was limited.
Another five minutes later and Lockwood decided that if he was going to die by having a lamp thrown at his head, he would much rather be more comfortable than warm and stifled, and peeled off the blanket that Y/n had given him when he first got comfortable in the armchair to take his pyjamas off. He folded them neatly, creeping around so that he didn't wake up the witch sleeping in the bed, then got back in the armchair and pulled the blanket over him again.
Why was he still warm?
He huffed in frustration, making a mental list of all the reasons his body could be overheating, then froze.
Somewhere along the way he'd added 'kiss' to the list, and then all of a sudden his mind was filling with the events of earlier and images of mistletoe.
Shit.
It had been awkward after they kissed in the kitchen doorway, Y/n's whole family watching and clapping with joy afterwards, and he had been very glad that she had hidden her face in his chest, because that meant that she couldn't see his own flushed face.
He had told himself that he was blushing because that had been his first proper kiss, and then followed that up by listing all the annoying things about Y/n.
They had been forced back into the living room for another two hours after that, with introductions being made to Y/n's grandparents (the ones that owned the house) and siblings (since they hadn't had the chance to say a proper hello yet). He had felt a little scared when all four of Y/n's brothers crowded around him, including 11 year old Tom, and made a promise to have a chat the next day, and then he'd been downright fearing for his life when Olivia pushed through and draped herself over his arm.
Y/n had simply been snickering in a corner at the whole thing.
Lockwood had glared at her in response, hoping that she might come and save him, but instead she turned back to her grandparents with a smirk and left him to her sister.
When they had finally been allowed to leave for bed, Lockwood and Y/n had got stuck in the doorway in their rush to go upstairs.
"After you, darling."
"No, you go first, Anthony."
Her family had been not-so-secretly watching the whole affair, and after a moment of staring at each other Lockwood had stepped back and swept his arm out for her to go first. He told himself it was because he had been raised to be a gentleman and also so that her family would think of him as the perfect boyfriend, but realistically it was so that he could hide his second flushed face of the evening when his gaze darted down to her mouth.
They had got ready for bed in silence, the only words spoken between them "excuse me" and "thanks" as they moved around, and then Y/n had given him the throw blanket from the end of the bed and turned out the lights.
"You sure you're fine in the chair?"
"Perfectly fine, Schmoopie."
"Do you want to die, Lockwood? Because you're getting dangerously close to seeing my rapier sticking out of your torso."
He hadn't answered her question, instead opting to shuffle around in the chair until he was as comfortable as he could be and bidding her goodnight.
And now here he was, around fifty minutes later, attempting to go to sleep while he also attempted to not think of the feeling of Y/n's lips on his.
He really should give up the game of hating each other that the two of them had going on.
Since that first night where they had met by quite literally bumping into each other, Lockwood had maintained the belief that she was no good for his business.
His meaning for what that meant had changed over the years, though.
Originally he'd thought that she would be clumsy and ineffective in a fight since she'd walked right into him and nearly pushed him over, and then when she'd come for an interview and walked into the doorframe his mentality had stayed the same. He was in too much debt to waste money on an agent that was as accident prone as Y/n.
But then? Then he'd seen her in action.
It had been around four months after she first joined Lockwood and Co (as he had stubbornly refused to go on jobs with her). George was behind on research for other jobs, and Lucy had a case of her own to deal with. Lockwood would have taken this particular one on his own, but Holly had recounted the client's report of what could be felt and dictated that he needed backup or he wasn't going. She herself had claimed there was a mountain of paperwork with her name on, and so Lockwood had been left with Y/n as his only option.
The taxi ride had been silent, with Y/n ignoring him and instead looking out the window, and when Lockwood thanked the driver his mouth was dry from disuse.
He knew he'd been an arse the last few months when all she was doing was attempting to be nice, but now he felt he was too far in to stop. She likely wouldn't believe he was being sincere anyway.
Two hours later they were done, worn out from running around trying to find Sources, and Lockwood had taken a new stance on his feelings towards Y/n.
It would have taken them at least twice as long to locate the Sources if Y/n hadn't used her Touch, and from what he could gather she was actually seeing the scenes play out in front of her, complete with sound and all as though she was actually there. He had never seen anything like it before, and when he went to tell her in the taxi home he was met with a very different Y/n to the one that had been trying to be his friend.
"You were incredible back there, Y/n."
"Not sure why you care, Lockwood. You've spent the last four months avoiding me and putting me on different jobs so you don't have to be around me." Her tone was harsh and cold, so far from the warm voice she had had only a few hours before, and Lockwood couldn't help but bite back.
"Of course I don't want to be around you, I was only saying that to make you think you're actually worth keeping around." It was awful, and he would never normally say something like that, but she was an enigma and he was tired and scared that if anyone found out about her Talent then she would take the spotlight away from him, and the words were out of his mouth before his brain could catch up and tell him to stop. She had stared at him, and for a moment he thought she might start crying from the way her eyes glistened and her lip trembled slightly, but then her expression was turning hard and a scowl settled on her face, and after that it became the norm for Lockwood to catch her eye and be glared at.
He knew he should apologise, but he couldn't figure out how to do it in a way that she would accept, and they were so entrenched in this hatred now that he was struggling to see how they could ever leave.
No, better to stick to what was normal and safe.
Not his normal mentality, but when venturing into the unknown meant exploring why he felt so warm, he was perfectly fine with staying behind the iron chains he had placed around his heart.
Non Request / Request
Anonymous: I want to request Anthony Lockwood×fem!reader. Where the reader and Anthony are rivals, but the reader secretly has a crush on him. Anthony and Kipps make a bet on who can make the reader fall in love with them faster. The winner gets 100 pounds. So Anthony tries to befriend her and charm her, but at first, he doesn't succeed because they have hated each other for a long time, and the reader thinks that he is trying to prank her. He starts going to the places she is most often in and talks to her more. Like the reader is sitting in the archives and reading when Anthony just sits at her table and starts talking to her and flirting. At first, the reader finds it annoying, but later, they start becoming very good friends. Anthony starts to fall in love with her himself. He introduces her to George and Lucy and offers her to work at his agency. They slowly start to become more than friends, then one night after a case, she patches him up, he kisses her, and tells her that he loves her. She kisses him back, and they both fall asleep together. The next day, she and Anthony go to the archives. When she goes looking for Anthony because she found what they needed she stumbles upon Anthony and Quill, talking about the bet and Quill handing Anthony money. Even though Anthony doesn't even care about the bet anymore, he takes the money. The reader sees this and immediately confronts him about it, being angry at him for lying to her and everything, Anthony tries to explain, but she doesn't believe him and gives him back the necklace he gave her when he confessed his love to her. Anthony is heartbroken and doesn't see her for a week. When Lucy and George ask him about it, he tells them what happened. Then they get mad at him for being so stupid to agree to such a bet. Two weeks later, he saves the reader from getting ghost touched in some random alley at night. He tries to tell her everything and apologise, but she doesn't want to listen. He starts pleading with her to give him 5 minutes to explain everything, even if he doesn't deserve it, and so she gives in. He explains everything and confesses to her again, telling her how desperate and sorry he is, how these 3 weeks apart have driven him crazy. At the end of his speech, they're both crying. She forgives him, and everything ends happily.
Anthony Lockwood was insufferable at times, such as today, when he and his team rudely interrupted a case your team, from Rotwell was put on. Your team supervisor Leighton, was not happy because every time you’d be on a case, it seemed he would show up, and not far behind would be Quill Kipps, and his team taking over or fighting over it. Leighton was almost so fed up he wanted to suspend you to equipment duty until they stopped causing a ruckus, according to him.
How could this be your fault? You were oblivious of to why. Leighton probably jar wanted someone to blame to make himself look good, per usual.
You personally were so fed up with Leighton and his team you considered quitting a multitude of times, but you’d have no other team to go to if you did.
You also couldn’t believe your teammate Marco freaked out with the equipment and broke your rapier. Lockwood saved Marco’s ass from being ghost touched, but your rapier was mauled in the process.
Stupid rapier and even more stupid; Anthony Lockwood.
Anthony had the biggest heart eyes for you for the longest time. The problem was you always acted like you hated him, and maybe that was apart of the reason he liked you, because all his charm didn’t work, and you only responded when he was sincere.
the only thing he did however hate about you, was how you’d banter with Kipps. There way no way you liked his enemy in that way. Right?
he thought it couldn’t get any worse, until today when he was trying his hardest to flirt with you, as you were getting a new rapier, due to a guy named Marco on your team somehow managed to snap it yesterday.
“Y/n, fancy seeing you needing new equipment.” He smirks, in his most charming way he can.
You sigh, “What do you want?”
“I just wanted to see if you needed help picking out a rapier. Running Lockwood and co, I have a lot of experience.”
You blow out a small laugh, “By all means Lockwood, be more superior than me, like you always have thought you were.”
You try to push past him into the shop, but he stops you with his arm.
“Y/n/n-“
“Don’t even, Lockwood. You may think your charms work on everyone but not on me anymore. You cant trick me into into your pretend version of friendly charm. Don’t even pretend to like me.” You heatedly spew, before ducking under his arm and going into the store.
Not anymore? So it did work. His heart was doing flips. She liked him at one point, who’s the say she wouldn’t like him again? Maybe he had to try another tactic. He knew that no one on her team would help her in the archives, according to George. Maybe that’s the way to get figure out if she has feelings for himself.
You hated the way he made you feel smaller than him, that he was god’s given gift to the world. You hated the way he tried to charm you, and you having to try your best to not let his it work on you, because then you’d be every other girl that’s under his stupid spell. Well at least you had to remind yourself to hate him or else, you’d be even more head over heels for him than you already were.
Damn it you were thinking about him. Again.
You tried to put your mind on the research you were having to do at the archives, since you always seemed to get put on the mundane tasks that the rest of the team didn’t want. You guessed you didn’t mind because George would be there. He was probably the only Lockwood and co member you could stand at this point, only because you hadn’t really had a conversation with Lucy.
He would be around and you’d share conversations which was nice, because he actually had an insightful intellect on subjects. He was cool in your book, and it was nice instead of the latter of Kipps or Lockwood bothering you since this wasn’t really their choice of task for their un-respective agencies.
Kipps once said libraries were for girls and their novels or dorks. You were a girl and probably a dork, so you didn’t really like Kipps for his opinions all that much.
George wasn’t here yet, so he couldn’t help you reach for the book on the top shelf, and your team was on a deadline so you had to try.
Damn these shelves. They were tall, at least too tall for you. You stood on your tip toes to try and reach it, just barely touching the book on a higher self.
An arm wraps around yours, from the outside reaching for the book and pulls it down with you, and you start to thank them gratefully, “Thank-“ you then turn to see who it is, changing your tone to an accusatory one to say, “you.”.
You take an annoyed breath in and turn to walk away towards you table trying to ignore him.
He seemingly follows you like a lost puppy, emphasis on lost, not puppy. You slam the book down a little too hard for your liking, and sit down before you embarrass yourself more. it is a quiet place of solitude after all, but not with not much solitude for yourself you were hoping for today.
Lockwood decides to plop down int he seat next to you, and scoots a bit closer, as if you bite, but close enough that it was making you annoyed.
You sit in silence for awhile as you read or at least, try to read the damn book in front of you on infamous poltergeists cases trying to see if yours matched up.
“Is it getting cold in here?” Lockwood asks you, his low voice giving you goosebumps up your spine.
“What?” You ask looking around. Anything cold put you on high alert even though you knew the archives were overall safe, you could never be too trusting.
“Or are you just giving me the chills?.” He flashes one of his signature smiles and you resist the urge to roll your eyes.
“Or is it just your cold dead heart in your chest?” You try to smile sweetly yet you felt triumphant at that comeback.
“I think you should make sure, just so theres no anomaly, or type two in the room.” He puts your hand on his hand on his chest, with his hand overtop.
You gulp, not sure of what to do with the contact, as you stare right into his eyes, you swear you felt his heart skip a beat.
“Pretty- pretty-“
“I know I am-“ he smirks interrupting your stuttering.
“Icy.” You pat his chest and turn back get out of your chair to grab another book. This time for fun.
He’s on your heels as you walk towards the classics section thats tucked into a tiny corner of the library, thats far out of the way of all the other informational books or newspapers. You wouldn’t tell Lockwood this, but you bet no one could hear you scream this far away from everything else.
You look for something to read, before turning back to see Lockwood giving you a look.
“What? You’re judging me aren’t you-“
“No! I mean no. I just haven’t picked up-“ he pauses and picks up Romeo and Juliet and has a genuine thoughtful smile on his face“-Shakespeare since my sister would read me lines. In another life she would have definitely have wanted to be an actress.”
That melted your insides a bit.
He flips open to a page, and starts to almost perform it.
“O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night. As a rich jewel in an Ethiop’s ear—Beauty too rich for use, for Earth too dear. So shows a snowy dove trooping with crows. As yonder lady o’er her fellows shows. he measure done, I’ll watch her place of stand. And, touching hers, make blessèd my rude hand.”
He pauses and turns to you staring you dead in the eyes
“Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight, For I ne’er saw true beauty till this night.”
You were in such a trance you didn’t even notice he was done preforming, because it felt like what he was saying was real, to you. You start clapping for him and he dramatically bows.
“I think you lied. I think you actually want to be the actor.” You joke.
He laughs and sits down on the floor and you sit next to him.
“In another world maybe. If the world were different in this one, I don’t know what I’d do. I’m pretty fantastic at my job-“
you snort at that comment.
“I don't think any of us would know what we’d want to do if our world here was different. Then again, I don’t even like what I’m doing right now. Leighton is-“
“-An arse.”
You laugh at that comment. Even Lockwood could see it.
“I may be an arse, but hopefully not that big of one.” He half jokes.
“You might not be that big of one but you’re still one.”
He shovers your shoulder playfully, and opens Romeo And Juliet from the start.
“You read Juliet and I’ll read Romeo. We can fill in other characters as we go.”
You nod smiling a genuine smile for once.
Maybe you had been the one with the cold dead heart, because Anthony Lockwood wasn’t that bad of a guy.
He liked a lot of the same things you did, such as the classics, and started to come to the archives more and more to your little corner.
Kipps started to linger around the archives trying to find you, but you knew the archives library too well for him to find you, for the most part.
He did stop you before you could run off to your “Romeo” one time, putting his arm in front of you and was talking at you for ten minutes straight, until Bobby just had to show him something important.
You really started to enjoy your time with him. What in the world was your life now? You actually liked Anthony Lockwood as a person! Oh shit did you just call him your Romeo in your head!?
Everything was going actually going smoothly being friends with Anthony Lockwood and that scared you a bit. You never really had people you were close to and cared about. Obviously you cared about your team and others and humanity you know. But somehow it was different if you were to loose him.
Well thinking everything was going smoothly was the wrong thing to say in your head, Leighton is coming straight in hot towards you right now.
“Y/n!”
“Yes Leighton?”
You tried not to disrespect him right now by rolling your eyes, but he slammed a book on the table.
“I see you’ve been spending you time not researching, and having your head in the clouds!”
You see some sort of modern Harlequin romance book in the pile, which you’ve never touched or read, not that you wouldn’t, but you knew someone had to have set you up.
“You’re fired immediately… after our current case. Ive already got the paperwork, so theres no fighting this as Rotwell signed it himself.”
You now roll your eyes trying to resist the urge to cry in-front of your whole team and make a bigger scene somehow Leighton was almost at the peak of creating.
You muster up the courage to speak.
“Yeah I doubt that Rotwell signed it, its either foraged or a stamp of approval some secretary stamped on. And I've never read that book, but its clear to see you won’t believe me. So lets go, all the information is int he pile figure it out amongst yourselves. I’m heading to the scene with the info-“ you point to you head “Up in here. Anyone joining me and being filled in or are you going to be as stubborn as Leighton and turn bright red like a tomato?”
The group except Leighton and his second hand follows you, as they know you always had things well memorized before you would pitch it to them.
When you get to the scene, a small townhome, you use your talent of listening to sense if anything is off when you walk in the front door. You had filled in the team of what happened in the house, assuming it’s a type two, as a couple who lived here, shot a criminal who came in, and left him to die. He was well known burglar in the area, Frank Calder.
You listen for anything, until you hear a crash in the kitchen and you eyes fly open, you unsheathe your rapier, so shiny and new as Leighton wouldn’t put you on any cases in person until today.
You move closer to the kitchen, as a clock strikes six pm, something comes into the door way of the kitchen, and before you can strike it, an his arm grabs your wrist and pulls you in close to him, so you avoid a murder of the un-beloved in the community’s Anthony Lockwood.
“Lov- Lunge at first fright, didn’t think it was a thing till today” He jokes.
Your breathing heavy for a second as you regather yourself, putting your rapier back. He finally lets go of your wrist almost reluctantly. Not the time Y/n, focus.
“What are you doing here?” You demanded the answer.
“We were hired. Apparently whichever team gets rid of the manifestations first get paid.“ He says.
“Well it’s a good thing I got fired because I would totally beat your team’s arses’”
He almost laughs but is trying not to.
“How’d you get fired?”
“Some jerk told Leighton I wasn’t doing work, reading romance novels instead of working, which isn’t true. I did the work… and then would read.” You smirk saying the last part for only Lockwood to hear.
“You should join my team then, we’re in need of a fourth.”
“Okay.”
“Just like that?” He teases, as he’s been asking you for a month to join.
You turn to the Rotwell team
“You guys have the info I gave you but you’re on your own. I am now the company part of Lockwood and co.”
They look at each other and start to leave.
Lockwood smiles his half smile, before guiding you over to the kitchen.
George and Lucy are there, and George fills you in the research you missed due to Leighton's interruption. The wife was killed in a cover of a “misfire” from the gun. They believe her husband was abusive, and wanted to kill her for planning to leave him and that she’s come back too.
“Brutal.” You shiver, “Lets find out where the wife's death happened and where was the burglar killed.”
You and Lockwood go together toward the living room, while Lucy and George go to the office on the main floor.
You close your eyes and listen. You hear yelling and fighting, and then thuds… up stairs?
“Hear anything?” He asks.
“Lockwood I think it’s up stairs” you mention,” I heard her running up stairs. And big thuds following her.”
Lucy comes out to confirm what you heard. She says she heard a gun being cocked in the office and then running toward the stairs.
“Shall we go up?”
Famous last words.
“Hold still!” You tell Lockwood and you clean him up. He hit his head pretty hard during the case, and quite a bit of blood was coming out of the gash.
You wrap his head in a bandage, making sure the wound wasn’t bleeding badly.
The lady that came back was not such a friendly one, as she closed the doors on the two of you in the room with the burglar poltergeist, which then lead to him slamming a metal filing cabinet towards Lockwood, who jumped out of the way and gashed his head on the corner of a table. He kept going even though he was bleeding badly which was impressive. You eventually were able to get them both contained.
“Shirt, off.” He looks at you smirking before you roll your eyes trying not to blush.
“You just want to see what I’m packing.” He jokes.
“No, I want to see how you’re bleeding out of your shirt. I need to make sure your not bleeding internally.”
“Okay, Dr. Y/n” he goofs off, before gulping at the contact of you unbuttoning his shirt with your hands.
He unbuttons and takes off the remaining of his shirt once it’s halfway down.
You gulp now, trying to play first aider, rather than goggly eyed girl at him.
You try to ignore his stare at you as you work and look around his chest and back, finding the long but not deep cut that made his crisp white button down, red.
Once you’ve treated him, you finally look back at him, to find him staring into your eyes intently.
“Thank you.”
You try to brush it off like it was no big deal, just to get his stare off of yours. You
“Its no big deal, Lockwood”, you start to turn away from his gaze, “I should be thanking you-“
He gently grabs your wrist and pulls you closer, and guides your hip to place you between his legs as he was sitting on the counter and you gulp at how close your face was to his. He then takes your chin between his thumb and finger, to gently get you to look back at him
“I mean it. Thank you.”
He sucks in a breath stating in the most cheesy manner, with a grin, “I must be a poltergeist, because I would do anything to be just reckless enough to move you closer to mine so I can ghost touch your lips.”
You slowly start smile and you move yourself closer to him, looking into his eyes, and then glancing at his lips it feels like everything in slow-motion yet so fast at the same time, as he moves in closer to your lips, and you can feel his breath on your lips, just ghosting them.
“Can I?” He asks so softly, you’re not even sure the best listener could hear him. You confirm by nodding you head an he touches your lips gently to his, and then he moves his hand to caress your cheek and you close your eyes.
The kiss was so sweet, and soft, almost if he made the wrong move you’d break like china, or George’s beloved egg cup.
He gently pulls away, so slowly and then her rests his forehead on yours, as if he’s letting you know he's not rejecting you.
“I… I’m in love with you, Y/n… and you don’t need to say it back I just needed to let you know.”
You heart is racing, and you move to kiss him back, which is more passionate than the last.
You break it to speak while resting your forehead on his.
“I’m in love with you, Anthony Lockwood.” You declare.
He smiles the most bright and genuine smile you’ve ever seen on his face, that was unlike his classic smirk.
He gently slides off the counter as you look into his eyes, not breaking eye contact with one another, with the two of you having the biggest grins, and they’d be brighter than a London storm’s lighting.
He spins you one eighty degrees, to face the door, as he wraps his arms around you, tightly, but enough that he could move.
He rests his head on your shoulder, waddling out with you, towards his bedroom.
He opens the door with one hand, the other still firm grip on you, before lifting you up bridal style, and you squeal and giggle.
“Shhh, Y/n you’ll wake George.” He laughs, “and probably Lucy who’s all the way upstairs.”
He places you gently on his bed, and some of you hair gets in your face, so he brushes it away and it gives you shivers down your spine. He then climbs into bed next to you, and spoons you, and you look up at his face.
You stare at him for what feels like no time, but time must have passes because your eyes start to drift but you fight to stay awake.
“Go to sleep love, I’ll be with you.” He says in a groggy voice.
You then close your eyes and sleep overcomes you.
When you had gotten up that morning, you were tangled with Anthony, forced awake by the sound behind the door, with George and Lucy arguing of who should wake Lockwood up.
“Lockwood.” You nudge him to let go of you o you could get up.
He moans and then mumbles something incoherent.
“No more kisses unless you get up now.” You tease.
Lockwood shoots up, “I’m up.” He says before leaning down to kiss you. You kiss him before covering your mouth after her breaks the kiss.
“Oh my god I need to brush my teeth.” He gets out a loud laugh before you scramble outside of the room, heading towards the bathroom. You pass Lucy and George in the hall, sheepishly you weave past them, going towards the bathroom to deal with your morning breath.
Lucy and George look at Each other, before looking at shirtless Lockwood, standing in the door way, quizzically, wondering what had happened.
“Told you so.” George says to Lucy before Looking back at Lockwood.
“We have a Case. We need to go to the archives now, before Kipps’ team gets on it.”
Lockwood comes of off his dreamy daze and nods, and the to of them head downstairs, and Lockwood lets out a frustrated groan.
Lockwood and you walk side by side, and he admires you secretly, as you admire blatantly the bracelet he had given you. It was the most beautiful and dainty bracelet, the best gift anyone had ever given you. He said it had been his mothers, and then his sisters, which he didn’t touch more on, but you knew how important family was to him, especially because of the one he had made with George and Lucy and now… you.
Lockwood, links hands with yours, and you look and him and smile brighter, and you intertwine you fingers between his.
Lucy kept trying to peak back, unnoticed, while George was stuck into studying the journal where he wrote down the details of the possible case.
You reach the archives in no time, and Lockwood lets go of your hand, so you can run up the stairs.
Once you’re all in the archives, Lucy is on watch duty to make sure the fittes team doesn’t overhear any information they get, and George is deep into a book. Lockwood has gone off somewhere to grab a book.
George speaks up about how long it was taking him to find one book, “Lockwood’s taking way too long. Y/n can you go see where he is.”
You nod, and go after him in the direction he went off in.
Your spot the back of Lockwood’s head, and you start to head towards him, before you see Kipps approach him and you avoid him seeing you by hiding behind a book shelf. You didnt hate Kipps but usually he’d talk at you for hours unless you hid.
You’re close enough to hear him speak to Lockwood.
“You won fair and square. Here’s your 100 pounds.” Lockwood stalls for a split second then takes it and pockets it quickly. Kipps continues to blab on, “Though I do have to ask, how’d you get Y/n to like you? Just so I know you won the bet fair and square-“
What the hell? You were a bet? You knew you shouldn’t have trusted him, you just knew it.
“What the hell!” You come storming up toward Anthony, zeroing in on him.
“Y/n I-“ Anthony tries to speak.
“Don’t! You’re a lying bastard! All I am to you is a stupid bet and nothing more, I see it all clearly now.” You take off the bracelet and Anthony tries to protest.
“Y/n please I-I didn’t mean it I mean I just-“
“Don’t contact me ever again.” You cut him off walking away with tears streaming down your face, leaving Anthony Lockwood in the dust.
Lockwood walks back towards the group, gripping there bracelet in his hand. He just wanted to bury himself in his bed, and not think about how badly he messed up, and hurt the best thing he's ever had.
“Where’s Y/n?” Lucy asks, looking around.
“Yeah I haven’t seen her for about a half hour?” George agrees.
“Wasn’t she with you Lockwood?” Lucy asks.
“I’m so stupid.” Lockwood says before slumping into the nearest chair holding his head in his hand, while he rubs it, almost like he had a headache.
“What did you do?” George and Lucy say in almost unison.
“It was a bet all a stupid fucking… bet.” Lockwood tries not to cry, “It’s all my fault I made a bet wth Kipps of who Y/n would… fall for first. The winner takes 100 pounds. I didn’t… I didn’t know… or think that I’d actually fall in love with her. And then I took the money even though I wanted to say to say screw the bet to Kipps, and then Y/n… she saw me take it and she was so angry and hurt, and I did that to her…” he gulps, “God she was so hurt. And I tried to explain to her, but she wouldn’t listen. And I tried to give the money to Kipps back, but he wouldn’t take it. I can’t fix anything I just… I broke it all.”
“You’re an idiot Lockwood.” Lucy says.
“A big one at that.” George adds on.
“Just go and try and fix it because she was the best thing to happen to you. I don’t care if you have to grovel for a month, or throw pebbles at her window, or send her letters for a year. Just fix it.” Lucy tries to angrily reason with him.
Lucy may have been right, but he knew you needed space right now, but Lucy had the right idea though. He needed a gesture even if it wasn’t grand.
It was killing them both not seeing each other for so long, and it had been three weeks since they last spoke.
Feelings don’t disappear, they linger like the manifestations they deal with on a daily bases.
Y/n thought Anthony waiting at her front door, so you decided to take the long alley way back to the back door. It was getting closer to dawn, and you just wanted to avoid him for hopefully forever.
What you didn’t expect however was to find was a manifestation on the way through the alleyway. The type two decided to smush you in between a pallet and the wall.
It was coming close to you, and was reaching out to touch you, and you closed your eyes accepting your fate, until you’re freed from being stuck, and Lockwood being your hero.
“C’mon. Before it comes back.” He extends his hand and you take it.
You’re shake off the shock, and start storming towards your front door.
“Wait, y/n please just give me five minutes of your time.” He pleads, “I’ ll leave you alone after if you want me to, please just hear me out.”
This peaks your interest, as maybe he’ll finally take off out of your life.
“Fine, five minutes.” You say.
“Thank you. It was a stupid bet I'm sure you know by now, but I only took the bet because… because then maybe I would finally have the courage to talk to you. And once I started talking to you, I didn’t ever want to stop. You’re truly the best thing thats ever happened to me, and I fucked up. Horribly. I know its unforgivable what I did, and I don’t deserve your forgiveness, but you’re all that I think about, going to the archives was the only thing that gave me hope in life that there are good things in this world and it's you.”
Lockwood pulls out a necklace out out go his pocket, a locket to be specific.
“I got you this.”
You take it into your hand, and open it.
It was a locket with a photo of you and the team in it.
“You can do whatever you like with it after you know this, but I used the money on you since Kipps wouldn’t take it back, because he thought he might still have a chance with you. “ he pauses before declaring, “The money wasn’t worth anything to me. You, however, are worth everything to me.”
Lockwood starts crying before turning to make his leave. He had used the money to buy you locket. Wow.
You stop him with your words.
“You’re not perfect Lockwood, but neither am I… but were good for each other… and I forgive you.” You say. He turns around, smiling with tears streaming down his face. And he reaches up to touch your cheek to wipe off the tears you didn’t notice running down your face.
You smile and you both lean in to kiss each other.
You both take each others hand and walk home shining your arms heading back to 35 Portland row.
Something you had come to realize in this moment is that there was no perfect situation, person, or deal dealt in life. The only thing is that there’s something to bet on when you find your good in life.
Don’t Tell
Anthony Lockwood x f!Reader
Warnings: None this is just fluff only ;) 💖💖💖
Summary: Y/N and Lockwood have been together for a while now, but they’d rather have the first few moments of their relationship to themselves. Still, that doesn’t stop them from having a few mishaps before they finally decide to let George and Lucy in on the secret.
A/N: I really really hope you guys like this one :) 💖💖💖 It took a while cause it is slightly longer :’) 💖💖💖 but I just wanna say I love the fake dating trope, I legit live for it :) 💖💖💖 and I hope you do too ;) 💖💖💖 Other than that I hope you have a great day :) 💖💖💖
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He pulled away, leaving her breathless. She laced her fingers through his hair, pulling herself to be closer to him. It looked desperate and it was desperate, she could admit that. It had been a long day. Somehow they had ended up entangled, on his bed, it was sinking in under the weight of them. He hovered over her, chewing his lip slightly, “So maybe we shouldn’t tell George and Lucy yet ?”.
“I- Why ?”, her forehead was crinkled. There didn’t seem to be any proper reason to withhold them from this fact.
He frowned, collapsing over her. She gasped, her lips parted in shock. He didn’t seem to notice, resting his head on her chest, “It’ll ruin the whole group dynamic”.
“Plus George is not the best with change”, his voice vibrated on her skin, sending chills down her spine.
She adjusted herself to face him, a brow raised, “That is true, but still are you sure it’s not cause you don’t want people to know we’re together ?”. It was teasing, but a small voice in the back of her head taunted her. What if he was embarrassed of her ? What if this was all for the sake of his reputation ? She hurriedly shook the thoughts from her mind. He would never do that to her.
“I am most definitely sure”, he leaned back, gaze fixed on hers. Her heart pounded in her chest. She turned away, feeling vulnerable.
He tilted her head back to his with a finger, “Why would anyone ever want to hide you ?”. His voice was quiet, like he was asking himself a question. His eyes flickered to her lips before coming back to meet hers.
She suddenly felt self conscious. Whining she covered her face with a hand, “Lockwood”.
“I’m being serious, I promise”, he laughed, pulling her arm away.
His palm remained on her cheek, gently running his thumb back and forth. She leaned into his touch. Gently he pressed his lips onto hers. His taste of bergamot and honey never got old. She smiled into the kiss. They parted for air and he gave her a lopsided grin, “Just for a few months, until we finish our current jobs and then we’ll tell them”.
“I promise”, he linked their pinkies, curling them together.
“Fine, but if anyone asks, this was your idea”, she rolled her eyes. Somehow, he could always convince her to do anything, and he was all to aware of that. He was lucky she loved him. Still, what was a few months right ? They could pull this off, they have done worse before.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Morning”, he whispered, tugging her closer to him.
She yawned, “Mmhm, good morning”. She pressed her lips against his cheek, before snuggling her face deeper into his neck.
“This is nice”, he smiled, running his fingers through her hair.
Her eyes fluttered shut and she pulled the covers up to her nose, “Yes it is, but now you have to get out”.
“What ? Why ?”, his eyes went wide.
She patted him on the chest, “You were the one who wanted to hide our relationship”. Was it a little mean ? Maybe, still it was his idea and so he had to suffer the consequences. Plus, she wasn’t going to be out of bed at 6 am if she didn’t have to. If she had to sacrifice his heat and comfort for that, so be it.
“No one’s awake right now”, he groaned into her hair.
She pressed her lips together, trying hard not to giggle, “George is an early riser”.
“Darling, don’t make me”, he was annoyed, but his legs were already hanging of the edge of the bed.
The springs of the mattress creaked at the loss of his weight. He was mumbling under his breath, but she just laughed, “Bye-bye”.
The door clicked open, and he padded out, but just as it was about to swing closed it just didn’t. She opened an eye at the offensive lack of noise. The room was dark except for a sliver of light shining through the hallway. She winced at the sudden bright light, hissing at the cold air as she got out of bed, but stopped when she heard another door.
A part of her longed to tuck herself back to sleep, but her other half won, as she peered out the crack in the door. His back was to her, hair still ruffled, “I- George”. She could only imagine the look on his face.
“Lockwood what are you doing awake at this time ?”, his brows were furrowed inquisitively.
“I- I uh- Actually I wanted to talk to you”, she wondered if George could hear the unsteadiness in his voice.
“About what ?”, he sounded even more confused.
She held her breath, silently reassuring herself that he would be able to think of a believable lie, though his track-record said otherwise. This was it, a whole 2 weeks in and they were about to be caught. She squeezed her eyes shut tightly, “About- You know I think we need to reevaluate the effectiveness our organisation system”.
“You really think so ?”, he grinned. What ? How had that worked ? She figured she should just be thankful that it did, and that he hadn’t gotten suspicious.
“Definitely”, he was nodding his head.
She watched as George’s shadow descended the stairs, “So was I, I had a few ideas that I wanted to run by you”.
She clamped a hand over her mouth to stifle her laughter, sneaking a glance at him as he threw his head back, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. He caught her eye and glared, but again, this was his plan she thought. She could only give him a sympathetic smile and shrug her shoulders.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Has anyone seen the forms that we needed to send to DEPRAC”, his fingers ran through his hair. She chewed her bottom lip. He was worried, and she couldn’t blame him. As an agency they haven’t exactly had a great relationship with the government, which could be a problem at times. Let’s be honest, most of the time.
Lucy sat across from her, forehead creased, “No, can you remember where you last saw them ?”.
He frowned, “I-”.
She felt her chest tighten at his expression and thought hard. “You put them into that book, I can’t remember what it was called, but then you put it into the second drawer of your desk”, she snapped her fingers, putting her mug down.
He was beaming, “Right, thanks”. She grinned back. Sending her a wink, he bounded out of the room, presumably to fetch the papers. She looked away, her stomach doing a flip. How is it that this still happened, despite them being together for a month.
“Great memory ?”, Lucy took a sip from her cup, eyeing her suspiciously. The smile fell from her face, she blew over her cup, the steam flying up. She could think of a believable, convincing response.
She bit her lip, “I uh- Yeah”. Right, so maybe it wasn’t one of her best moments, but in her defence, it was hard to think of a good enough answer under Lucy’s piercing gaze. She was only glad he was not here to catch it, knowing she would never hear the end of it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Is that- Is that a hickey ?”, her eyes went wide, a heat rising to her face. She hastily put away the groceries in their cupboards. Shit shit shit. Tilting her head to the left, she could see that his mouth was gaping just a little.
She spun around, with tight-lipped smile, “I- No, no of course not, I actually”. George and Lucy shared a glance, and she took the opportunity to send him a pointed look. She had specifically told him not to make it visible, but he was persistent and stubborn. It’s not like she wasn’t enjoying it in the moment, but now she was beginning to regret it. She cursed under her breath. Think of something, she mouthed at him.
He grinned, “She fell down yesterday”. He nodded at her. Another one of his brilliant ideas, she thought she could cry right there.
George raised a brow, “She fell down, on her neck ?”. He didn’t sound like he believed them. Hell, she didn’t even believe them. Still, he looked so confident, she wanted to laugh. Hopefully it would just blow over their heads.
“Yes, while we were doing the shopping, she just missed a step and there she was on the ground”, he gestured plaintively. Please give up she thought. Thankfully they shrugged their shoulders and continued their breakfast. She sighed, relieved that their interrogation was over, but she still punched his arm as she took a seat at the table.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It had been 3 months of sneaking around and lying, of stolen kisses and secret dates. They never went a week without a single slip up or mistake, and despite it all they had somehow pulled it off, George and Lucy both did not have an inkling of an idea that they were in a relationship. Still, they had had enough of it. Everything was becoming a bit overwhelming and they would much rather let their friends in on the secret.
They stood on the stairs out of view, she on the step above him, making her slightly taller. He had his arms around her waist and hers were around his neck. She tilted her head to the side, watching him closely, “Are you sure ?”.
He only nodded his head, giving her a kiss on the forehead. This was hard for him, change, it had always been the four of them, friends. He was worried that this, them, would change all that, and a part of her worried that too, but the greater part of her was sure that their friends would be welcoming to the idea. She pressed her lips together to stop the wide grin from forming. Gently he entangled himself from her, except for their hands still interlocked, leading her to the living room.
The room was dimly lit, their heads immediately turned as they entered. Their gaze shifted down to their intertwined hands for a second before coming back to their faces. He squeezed her palm, “Right so, I um- We have something to tell you guys”.
“That you guys are dating ?”, George didn’t even look up from his book.
She was puzzled, pursing her lips, “I- How did you know ?”. They were so subtle, so discreet. Just a few minutes ago they were giving each other pats on the back for their acting abilities. Clearly it was starting to look like the exact opposite.
“We both knew for the longest time, it was quite obvious”, Lucy gave her an apologetic look.
“And you never said anything ?”, he ran a palm across his face. Well now she just felt embarrassed. They shared a sheepish smile.
She shrugged her shoulders, “I mean we just wanted to see how long you too would manage”.
She rolled her eyes plopping down onto the sofa. He was not far behind her, an arm was instinctively at her side, and she leaned into him. At least now they didn’t have to second guess every choice they made. George grinned, finally peeking up from behind the papers, “That and it was extremely entertaining, for us at least”. They both laughed. He groaned, chucking a cushion at their friend, which he easily dodged. She couldn’t help but laugh too as he buried his face in her hair.
We all have needs.
Anthony lockwood x Fem!reader +18 drabble.
Disclaimer: The “Readmore” sign has been causing glitches with my fics so I apologize if it happens again.
Warnings; Anthony being a little shit, smut, dirty talk, smut book talk, chocking, dominance, him trying to embarrass you and of course, you being embarrassed. And spelling mistakes.
You felt so embarrassed that your body was on fire, your cheeks puffed out and your eyes glaring at the man in front of you. You had been chasing him all over the house and now you two stood in the kitchen, him on one side and you on the other. Each time you threaten to move so did he, and you two have been running in circles for too long already.
“She dripped onto their shared sheets, her thighs burning with passion and desire-” You rolled your eyes as he spoke the words to the book in his hands. It was your book, one that you thought you could read in peace but Anthony had other plans. He stood with a proud smirk and his face was too cocky, he was having the time of his life embarrassing you.
“Anthony, stop.” Slamming your hands onto the table separating you. He looked up at your harsh tone and raised a brow. “Why? It’s getting good. Here, listen.” He laughed and looked back to the page.
“His wet muscle dragged through her folds, she was already so wet for him and dripping with aroused. The moan she left out when he finally got-” you had enough of his teasing and decided to try and take him down or get to him fast. You hopped onto the table and didn’t care of it would hold you, you just had to get to him.
He looked at you and stepped back to get away from you. “Y/n!” He laughed as you got closer to him. “Give it back.” You demanded while walking closer, he didn’t have much room until he backed all the way to the counter.
“Give it back.”
You shouted again and went to grab the book but before you could make it to the book his hand caught your wrist. Anthony tugged you forwarded and moved out the way so you were the one to hit the counter. His grip on your wrist left but was replaced by his body weight onto your back pressing you to the counter.
He was against you. He was pinning you so you had no way to escape, his arm was now around your stomach and bringing you closer but also to hold you still. You felt weak as you realized what was happening, how close he was- How close his mouth was to your neck. His hot breath hit your hot skin, but even though you couldn’t see him you knew he had a smirk on his face.
“I wasn’t finished.” He whispered closely. “Don’t be embarrassed, y/n. It’s just a smutty novel, I mean we all have needs don’t we? I know i do.” He chuckled. The grip he had on you tightened and he pressed you harder into him. “Anthony-” He shh’d you. He kissed your ear and his teeth nibbling the area softly, you let out a soft gasped.
“And, I know you do, y/n. When you think we all leave, or it’s late at night when everyone should be sleeping. I hear your pretty little gasps, just like the one you just did. I can only picture you rubbing your clit to get some release, each moan or pray to the god above.” Fuck- He heard you. Of course he did, just for him to make fun of you and use it against you.
“But what you don’t know is I like to stroke my cock to your moans, I imagine how you would feel around me.” He started to kiss down your ear and onto your neck and then to your shoulders. Your brain froze at his words, he did that- He wanted you back, he thought of you while he pleasured himself.
“And why didn’t you tell me- Lockwood.” Trying to ask him a question he had to shut you up with bitting into your collarbone. You moaned his name and closes your eyes, trying to back up into him for anything.
You were so needy.
“You want me to fuck you now? Like how he does her in your book, probably so rough and sensual. Tell me that you want my cock.” You jumped as he slammed the book on the floor. Squealing in surprised as he turned you over to face him, his hand quietly wrapping around the lower part of your neck.
He wasn’t chocking you but having ahold on you, just to hold you in a more dominant way. But he did make you look up at him and into his eyes, he wanted you to beg. To beg for him. And you wanted him so bad, everything was aching for him now within you.
“Please,” you whined out and tried to get out the words, “Fuck me.” There it was, the words he needed to here.
“Then I will, darling. I’ll make you scream only for me, and make you see how useless books are when you have real cock pleasing you from the inside.” That’s when his hand closes around your throat and brought you forward to meet his lips with a kiss.
Thank god you decide to read that book in the open.
Dancing With Our Hands Tied
Anthony Lockwood x f!reader
Content: angst, kissing, bit of fluff?
Warnings: some curse words, but other than that none (kinda proof read)
Characters: Anthony Lockwood, (Y/N) Kipps and one mention of Quill Kipps (not directly his name). Also one or two mentions of the golden blade
Word count: 1.011 (according to word)
A/N: Just a heads up before you read, this scene is from a lockwood fanfic that I'm working on, the fanfic is with an oc but I changed it to y/n to post it here. Is this basically that scene after the auction with Lockwood and Lucy but in here y/n kisses Lockwood? Yes, leave me alone.
Enjoy
(here's their almost kiss if your interested)
I promise, he'd said before letting go of her hand and the cold water of the river hitting her skin brought her back to reality.
She felt him fall onto the water a bit later, grabbing her to get to the surface. She gasped for air, swimming away from his embrace and crawling to shore.
She laid there, gazing the stars on the sky and trying to make her heartbeat calm down with her mind. The image of her fist or palm on Lockwood’s face was helping a bit.
She saw him getting out of the water of the corner of her eye, falling next to her for a moment with a heavy sound.
“I promised, didn’t I?” he breathed out. She could even hear his smile. His annoying smile.
She wanted to punch him.
“Are you stupid?” she yelled, sitting up in one go and making her sight go spotty for a second as she did it “I know you're Anthony Bloody Lockwood and all but that was... fucking mental!”
He got up too “(y/n) listen-”
“No, you listen!” she snapped back “That wasn’t just stupid, it was… fucking reckless! And I understand crazy plans, I do! But I'm not the one who jumped from the top of a building! Twice!”
“Actually, three times but the first time was a house so I don't think it counts-”
(y/n)’s eyes opened wide “What?” she said “No, you know what? I don’t wanna know” she started walking away, hugging herself to somehow shield her freezing skin from the wind.
She heard his steps trail behind her, his dress-shoes hitting the small rocks from the river. She didn’t even want to imagine how she looked like. Mascara running down her cheeks, because of her tears or the water from the river, she didn’t know; her wet hair felt heavy, her new dress too, she only wanted to hide under the warm covers of her bed and forget all about this night. About the mission, about the fight, about everything.
About Anthony-fucking-Lockwood.
“(y/n) wait, oh god you’re fast” he finally caught up to her fast and heavy steps. She had learned from older agents under the agency to not just walk well on heels, but also fight with them on, “please”
There was that plead again, the one he had used on her last time they encountered that golden blade-bitch. She didn’t know why his begging caused her to stop, but she did.
She turned around, the knot on her throat growing back before she could even speak “I hate you”
“And you have every right to”
“You dropped me onto the fucking river!”
“I had a plan, things went wrong, I didn’t want you to get hurt” he explained.
“I can protect myself just fine!” she yelled.
“Yes, you can!” he yelled back “but you would also step in front of me and the blade, I would never forgive myself for that!”
“From the moment he appeared I knew the plan was fucked, but no, you risked it, again" she said “What were you gonna do? Fight him? You were going to die! Do you think I could forgive myself if that happened?” and I wasn’t there, she thought as she pushed him “Your sight might be great but you sure are blind when it comes to-”
“When it comes to what?” he cut her off, taking another step closer.
My feelings.
“You know what” she said instead “you think you're so good, you think you're the next big shit, but you’re just reckless, a reckless coward”
That what he needed, a punch to his ego.
“I’m not a coward”
“Then look at me in the eye and tell me how you feel” she almost whispered, feeling her hands shake at the thought of his answer “look at me in the eye and tell me you didn’t understand what I told you back at the library”
He didn’t say anything, and even when (y/n) thought she’d had enough, his silence was the last straw.
“I’m done” she said “I’m so done with you, if you want someone to help you with a case, call anyone else, not me! Call my brother for all I care!” she started walking away again, getting closer and closer to the steps leading to the street.
“(y/n) please-”
“No, don’t you ‘(y/n) please’ me” she yelled, not even bothering to turn around to look at him, missing just for a moment how he got closer before he grabbed her, forcing her to stop just a few steps away from the stairs.
“I did get it” he said “not just what you told me, but why you told me” He said, caressing her cheek like how he had done merely hours ago “and I… I do too” he said “I don’t know for how long, but I have feelings for you too (y/n)”
Maybe it was just a thing between them to panic each other with silence, but (y/n) enjoyed for just a moment the spark of fear growing on his eyes.
She grabbed him, smashing their lips together. He froze, but (y/n) didn’t care. She was about to pull back and yell some more when he grabbed her cheeks and pulled her in again, his hot breath fanning against her, bringing some relief to her cold aching skin for a moment.
She had completely forgotten what she was going to say after the kiss, probably insult him, but her mind was filled with fireworks.
No thoughts, just him. His lips, her lips. Their lips. (apocalypse)
“This- this should be- against some sort of rule” he said in between kisses.
(y/n) only hummed, barely registering what he’d said. Her fingers slid up his neck and grabbed his wet hair as he grabbed her by the waist, walking them both backwards till her back hit a wall.
They separated.
“Kissing me won’t make this go away” (y/n) said, breathing heavy and gazing at his eyes and lips.
He chuckled “I don't mind”
“You owe me a dinner” she said, straightening her back and stabbing his chest with her finger “A very nice dinner”
“Are you asking me on a date?” he asked.
“Sure”
A/N: Last night I had the idea to post it here to ask you guys what you think. Tbh I feel like it need a bit more editing, like, there's a piece of dialogue I wrote for this scene but idk where to sandwich it.
Freak Like Them
Summary: Anthony Lockwood x Fe!Reader -> You haven't spoke to your parents in years, and have never once mentioned them. One day, they decided to come and see you.
Disclaimer: This is more of a Lockwood and Co Platonic thing though I guess something could be shown as 'romantic'...kinda. Not proof read. Terrible parents, abandonment, shitty parents though some 'redeemed'. Swearing, angst, tears, found family kinda stuff.
You had been frantically running about all day, cleaning.
Whilst Lucy (tried) to eat her toast in peace, there you were, cloth in hand, taking her unfinished plate from her.
“Hey!”
Lucy watched you for a further moment before saying; “Do you mind?”
“Can’t have a mess. They’ll already find things to comment on.”
“They?”
“Do you know who she’s talking about?”
“No clue.”
“When did she even wake up?” George asked whilst himself, Lockwood and Lucy watched as you cleaned yet another already clean kitchen countertop.
“5, I think. She was up before me.” Lockwood stated.
You had actually been awake since 4, but figured you better start cleaning from 5. It gave you time to wake up, get ready and make sure the whole house was spotless before they came.
“Also, who’s they?”
“They?”
“She said, ‘they’ didn’t she?” Lucy asked, leaning into the duo.
“They are my parents.”
“What?”
“My parents.” you stopped for a moment to look at all three of them huddled together at the end of the table. “They called me last week saying they were coming down for a visit. Only, I completely forgot until last night and now nothing is clean and I don’t know what to do to avoid them saying something.”
“But I thought your parents didn’t like you being-”
“An Agent?” you finished Lockwood’s question. “They didn’t. Probably still don’t. I get a postcard from them every year but other than that, I don’t hear from them. And then, out of the blue they called.”
“And you forgot?”
“Well,” you sighed, looking at George. “I was a little busy trying to stop you three from committing an accidental murder in the Winkleman case last week.”
George remained silent.
“Either way, they’re coming today and I still haven’t finished-”
Lockwood stated your name. “The house is spotless. In fact, it hasn’t been this clean…ever.”
“I know, but I just need today to go well.”
“Why?” George asked, before realising he probably should have remained silent in his questioning.
George and Lucy didn’t know much about your parents, just that you had to have some somewhere. Lockwood knew a little more, but still not much. He knew why you came to London all those years ago. He knew why you left them and why they told you to leave, but other than that, he knew nothing more.
You refused to talk about them.
Anytime family came up in a conversation, you’d steer the conversation onto another topic or deflect it onto somebody else. You’d do it subtly but the others were slowly picking up on it.
“Please,” you begged. “Just…help me make sure today goes well and then they’ll go home and we can get back to normal.”
Neither of the trio knew what they were getting themselves in for when it came to your parents, and it would be too late for them to escape by the time they turned up at the front door.
George had made dinner that night, making sure to follow the recipe you gave him, to a T. Especially since it was your parents’ favourite meal and if he did it well, which you doubted he wouldn’t, then they would accept George and be kind with him.
That just left trying to get Lucy and Lockwood on their good side.
So, when the doorbell rang, Lockwood greeted them at the door, offering to take their coats.
Your mother thanked him and mentioned to her husband, your father, how kind he was.
So Lockwood was in their good books so far, until…
“Ah, my dear.”
Your mother spotted you as you came out of the kitchen and into the hallway. She took both of your hands in hers and kissed the air around your cheeks.
“Couldn’t greet us yourself?”
“Sorry, mum. I was just-”
“Nevermind. There’s always another chance. Are those-”
“Garlic potatoes? Yes. I gave George the recipe. He’s an amazing cook.”
“So are you, dear.” your mother told you. “I should know. I paid for the lessons.”
You could do nothing more than smile and nod before looking at your dad. “Hi, dad.”
“Munchkin, how is my little girl?”
“Goo-”
“She’s well, dear. Can’t you see? Nevermind that. Show us around. We’d like to see how our daughter is surviving after all.”
Your mother forced her way into the living room, your dad following her call whilst you remained outside the room for a short moment to take a breath.
“Are you-”
You nodded quickly at Lockwood, “I’m fine. Can you help Lucy finish the table?”
Lockwood nodded, his gaze wandering into the living room for a second before giving you a slight smile and heading into the kitchen.
Letting go of your forced breath, you entered the living room to find your mother judging every corner she could of the room.
“For London, I would have thought the rooms would be bigger.”
“Well, they are. We’ve just rearranged the furniture to make it cosier for the colder months.”
“And how long do you spend the day being lazy here.”
“Well, we’re not actually in here all that-”
“No need to lie to your mother, dear. I know you can be hard working when you want to be, but I also know children your age.”
Your mother wandered over to the fireplace before rubbing her finger over the top of it.
She hummed, and not in a good way. It was more…disappointment.
“You haven’t polished, I see. I can see now where we come on your scale of importance.”
“Mum, listen-”
“Would anyone like anything to drink?”
You made a mental note to hug Lucy as tight as you possibly could, later.
Your mother’s face lit up. “Oh, my goodness. You must be Miss Carlyle. I have heard so much about you. All from the papers, of course. Our daughter tells us nothing. Aren’t you much prettier in person? Perhaps one day you girls can have a talk over make-up. Perhaps you could teach my daughter a couple of things about presentability.”
Lucy didn’t know how to respond.
Usually, she’d fire back a snarky comment, but this was your mother.
And only now was she beginning to understand the reasons why you didn’t talk about them all that much.
Lockwood appeared behind Lucy for a moment. “Dinner is ready, if you’d like to take a seat in the kitchen.”
Your mother smiled at Lockwood and dropped Lucy’s hands.
“That will be wonderful, Son.” your father replied before all five of you made your way into the kitchen to see George.
The food was plated up perfectly, everything smelled just like how it did at home.
“Mismatched plates, how very…cute.”
You knew your mother didn’t mean that as a compliment.
“This all looks lovely, George.” your father told him before digging in. “My god! The potatoes, how did you-”
“I added a little bit of milk along with some spices left over from the chicken.”
Your father began telling your mother about how they should try and cook it like that when they got home, but your mother was more focused on you and your fellow Agents.
“So, tell me Lucy. When did you become an Agent?”
“W-When I was…eight…I think?”
“I remember the papers. It was awful what happened to those children. But that wasn’t your fault.”
Lucy didn’t know what to say, other than to nod and say an awkward, “Thank you.”
“Mum, can we please not talk about this?”
“I’m only asking a question, dear. Don’t attack me because you don’t like me wanting to get to know your friends.”
“I wasn’t-”
“Don’t talk back, dear. You know how I feel about you talking back.”
The room went silent for a moment before your father coughed and looked at you.
“How has the life of an Agent been treating you? I’m sure you’ve all got some strange stories you’d like to tell?”
“Dear, she just said she didn’t feel like talking about it.”
“No, it’s okay.” you felt a little spark of joy when hearing your father wish to talk about your job.
“Oh, so he can talk about it, but I can’t? Well,” your mother threw down her fork. “All I wanted was to spend time with my daughter and her friends and now suddenly I’m the villain but he’s the saint for asking questions.”
“Mum, I never-”
“I have a story!” George piped up.
All eyes turned to him and he swallowed nervously before telling his story about a case you were all working on a few months ago.
By the end of the story, you could have sworn your dad had pride in his eyes when looking at you.
Your mother, however, was a different case entirely.
“So you just went after them like that?”
“I was saf-”
“If they ran into a burning building, would you follow them? I understand you wish to prove yourself, but didn’t you have a good job there?”
You nodded. “I did, but I-”
“She’s happy now,” your father tried to explain lovingly. “And that’s all that matters-”
“Yes, yes, Dear. So, Anthony, tell me about yourself.”
The following 40 minutes passed in a similar fashion. Your mother asking questions, people answering and then her making a comment about you. Then, your father tried his best to support you.
Even if he didn’t support you when you decided to move to London to join Lockwood and Co, he was supporting you now. He seemed proud, even. But your mother didn’t.
“Did I tell you the story about when she decided she wanted to be an agent?”
You worried but continued to smile. It started out like a nice story.
“She was 14, and just got home from her maths tutors. I paid in full too, so no refund either.”
Oh, no.
“Dear, perhaps we don’t have to-” your father tried interrupting but it was no use. Your mother carried on and so, your father placed his hand gently on your arm whilst your focus remained on your mother, however your other hand found his and gave it a gentle squeeze.
This didn’t go unnoticed by the trio who then endured the story your mother told everyone.
“Can you believe that, my little girl, deciding to become an Agent instead of seaking her talents in-”
“Why don’t we move onto dessert?” your father announced, turning his attention to George who seemed to visibly give a sigh of relief.
“Yes, Lucy will you-”
“On it.”
Lucy led everyone into the living room with Lockwood, although yourself and your dad held back for a moment.
“I’m so sorry, Munchkin. I told her not to-”
“It’s okay, dad.”
“It’s-”
You took his hand on your arm again. “It’s okay, dad.”
As your dad followed Lucy and Lockwood and your mother into the living room, you let out a controlled breath and beside you, you saw a beer bottle.
“Not yet. If she smells it on me, she’ll hit the roof.”
“Maybe it will get her out quicker.”
“Don’t tempt me.”
“Are you sure you’re okay?”
You remained still, your gaze fixed on the door. “No. But it can’t be that long until she leaves. Keep that on ice for me?”
“In the hidden corner of the fridge already.”
“Thanks, George.”
Being careful of your steps, you made your way into the living room where you found your mother in the middle of another story.
Lucy was pouring your dad a drink meanwhile, Lockwood looked at you for a moment, giving a silent questioning look.
“Are you okay?”
You gave a small nod and sat on the arm of the chair beside your dad, listening to another story that your mother told people. All that flashed across your mind was the amount of times you cried yourself to sleep in the nights after a dinner party where she provided people with evidence of what a disappointment you were to her then.
God only knows what she tells them now.
“Oh, please, tell me how my dear daughter is working in your fine establishment?” your mother asked, sitting on the edge of her seat. “And don’t worry, I know she’s not perfect. You can be honest in your review.”
Lockwood stuttered for a moment, understanding full well that when your mother said “she’s not perfect”, she didn’t mean it to be everyone is imperfect but rather you were…terrible.
“She’s doing very well. She’s one of the best…any of us have ever worked with.”
“You’re kidding! Oh, my dear.” your mother was laughing, with tears. “Oh, how cute. Dear, did you pay him to say that?”
“Wait a minute-” Lockwood was about to say something but then your mother looked at her watch.
“It’s getting late, we should go. Come on, dear.”
Your mother stood and thanked everyone, not once making eye-contact with you, before ushering her husband into the hallway.
“What the-”
“Not yet, Luce.” you whispered.
However, as you stood and walked down the hall, you saw your mother fussing over your father’s coat whilst he tried to stop her.
“What’s going on?”
Something in your gut told you what she was fussing over wasn’t his coat, but rather something she would get off her chest and your father was trying to stop her.
“Nothing, Munchkin.”
“We think you should come home.”
Lockwood, Lucy and George sprang into the hall when they heard your mother.
“What?”
“Just until you get better.”
“Better?”
“Clearly you paid Mr Lockwood to say that about you. I am your mother after all, I should know when your boss is lying.”
“I wasn’t-”
“Why should I come home? This. This place. This is my home. It’s been more of my home than a house with you has ever been.”
“No need to be spiteful, dear.”
“Just stop it!”
“See, look, she’s making me the villain again-”
“Enough!” you shouted out. “Can’t you see I’m happy here? I love my job and I love these people. I understand you don’t like the fact that you can’t say to your friends that I’m some fancy accountant doing peoples taxes until three o’clock in the morning, but it should be enough for you that I am happy. I am doing a job I love and I have people that I love.”
“I told you she was happy-”
“How can she be? She’s going to be a freak, just like the rest of them!”
“That is enough!” your dad raised his voice. “She has a point. It should be enough that she’s happy and she’s in a job she loves. Maybe we didn’t agree in the beginning, but it wasn’t something worth losing our daughter over! And she’s not a freak. These children are not freaks. They are talented, incredible human beings who shouldn’t have been brought into a world of fear, but are making the most of life all the same. I don’t care what she does. What I care about is knowing who she is. What I care about is if she is happy. Not if your friends and their old minds are satisfied over the stories you tell them. We haven’t seen her in almost three years and you can’t take a few hours to be kind and proud of her! I am not going another three years without seeing our daughter.”
“So what are you saying? Are you staying here?”
“I’m saying either realise what you could lose, or I leave.”
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me. Either change or I leave. And I move down here with her and we don’t see you ever again.” your father looked back to you where he found you looking at him with tears in his eyes. “I’m sorry, Munchkin. It should have taken me this long.” he turned back to your mother. “She was brave enough to make the choice three years ago, and now I’m making it, too. So?”
You and your father waited, watching as your mother stood shocked at your father’s words before turning to look at you.
“You’ll regret it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow. But you will.”
“No, I won’t.”
Then she turned back to your father. “I’ll be at Janice’s if you need me.”
“Goodbye, Dear.”
Your mother did nothing other than turn around and close the door behind her.
“I’m so sorry, Munchkin. I should have said something sooner. Much, much sooner.”
“It’s alright.”
“It’s not. But I will spend the rest of my days trying to make it up to you.”
“Are you really sure you want to live in London?”
Your father paused for a split second. “Maybe a few minutes outside of London.”
You laughed a little, and so did he. “I’m getting a little too old for city life.”
You stood, looking at him for a moment before hugging him. “Thank you.”
“I love you, Munchkin. And I am sorry.”
“I love you, too.”
The following fifteen minutes were spent trying to get your father to consider staying for the night, but he eventually convinced you that he would be okay in a local hotel room - especially since he had a discount from work.
As the door closed behind him, you locked it shut and as you turned around, Lucy came running over and hugged you.
“It’s a shit deal.”
“Thanks, Luce. Please tell me George has my beer-”
“Right here.”
“You’re an angel.”
“Was she always like that?” Lockwood asked.
You swallowed your beer with a nod. “It was a little easier in the beginning, but…yeah. Always.”
“Anyone for donuts?” George asked when a short moment came over all of you.
“Yes.”
“Please.”
As Geroge and Lucy left towards the kitchen, Lockwood pulled you back.
“Are you sure you’re okay? Because that was…”
You touched his hand that loosely held yours. “I’m okay.”
Lockwood looked like he wished to say something more, so you waited.
“If…if there comes a day, when you’re not. Promise you’ll come to me? That you’ll talk to me.”
“I promise, Lockwood.”
Correct Me If I'm Wrong - Anthony Lockwood
You're not sure when the last time you felt truly pretty was.
Most days are spent either in tatty pyjamas that are due a wash, or clothes with a myriad of ectoplasm burns and a permanent smell of lavender that clogs up your nose and makes you need to sneeze, no matter what kind of fabric conditioner you shove into the washing machine. Your hair? Well, it's certainly seen better days.
But today. Today.
Lucy stands behind you, zipping up the back of your dress as you smooth the front of it until some of the wrinkles have flattened out a little. The satin gleams in the hazy light of your shared attic bedroom, and you find yourself smiling at your reflection in the mirror. When was the last time you dolled yourself up for something?
That's not to say you're overly concerned with how you look on a day-to-day basis, it's just that the ghost-fighting business doesn't really allow for nice outfits. Except for tonight, you suppose.
The Fittes at Fifty Ball is tonight, and you've been dreading it. In all honesty, you would much rather stay at home and get as much research done about the Bone Glass before the members of Lockwood and Co take on a heist to retrieve it, but you've not got much of a choice. You all need to look as inconspicuous as possible seeing as the very thing you need, a book by Mary Dulac, is stored in the Black Library at the Fittes headquarters.
"All done," Lucy says. "Ready to steal from the biggest, most well-protected agency in the UK?"
No, not really, but still you say, "Always."
"I'm going to get our stuff ready." She fiddles with the billowing sleeves of her blue dress. "Want me to pack those biscuits you like?"
"Absolutely, Luce," you say. "Thank you."
When she leaves, you find yourself staring at your reflection for a moment longer and liking the person you see. With a satiny green dress and hair that looks like more than a few minutes of effort have been put in, you look starkly different from usual. It makes you almost yearn for more party heists.
As you're tugging on your boots, there's a knock on the door. The pattern rapped out on the wood is familiar and it makes you smile, and you say, "Come in."
Lockwood steps through the open door and makes his way up the steps into the bedroom. His dark suit makes him look even more professional than usual, and his hair has been combed back neatly, showcasing those mischief-filled dark eyes you love so much. He's carrying something behind his back, making sure to keep it hidden. But the thing you take the most notice of is his tie. It's green.
It likely means nothing. Lockwood wears whatever he wants whenever he wants with little regard for colour - come on, he wears salmon pink socks! - but something about it feels purposeful. You've never seen him wear a green tie. Hell, you didn't even know he owned one. And this is the exact same shade as your dress.
He stops a few feet short of your bed, watching with glittering eyes as you stand and smooth out your dress once more. There's a smile playing on his lips, softer than his usual grin, and it sends a shiver down your spine.
"How do I look?" you ask, trying to sound more confident than you feel.
Having him see you in a dress, with your hair styled and your makeup done, feels like standing on a stage in front of thousands of people. You're way more nervous than you should be.
For a moment, he says nothing, and you worry that he thinks it looks terrible. Maybe you should've picked the chiffon dress rather than satin, or maybe the red instead of green. You thought you had made your hair look quite nice, but maybe it looks quite stupid...
And then he says, "You look - you look beautiful, (name)."
There's a fluttery feeling in your chest, but you shove it down. You can't let yourself hope for anything that likely won't happen. Friends tell each other they look beautiful. You and Lucy do it all the time! This is no different just because it's Lockwood. Well, maybe it's a little different.
"You, too," you say. Your cheeks flush. "Well, not beautiful. Actually, I mean, if you want to be then sure. I just meant -"
He laughs, and your voice fades off. It's quite possibly your favourite sound, his laugh, because of how light it sounds. After working with him for a few months now, it's easy enough to tell that Lockwood isn't doing great a lot of the time. With his recklessness, the little jokes he makes that aren't really jokes, it's more than evident. So, now, hearing his laugh sound so genuine makes you smile and you feel a little less embarrassed.
"Thank you," he says, his smile becoming brighter. "I, uh, I have something for you. That is if you want it, of course."
"You know I hate surprises."
"Trust me. You'll like this one."
The hand that was behind his back appears, holding what looks to be an old book. The cover is faded, and the pages have browned, but he holds it delicately on the flat palm of his hand. Curiously, you step closer to him and gingerly take it from his hands.
Upon reading the title and flipping through the first few pages, your heart swells with gratitude. "This is a first edition."
"I'd certainly hope so with the trouble I went to finding it."
Your fingers carefully slip through each page, and you smile so widely you're afraid your cheeks might tear. "Lockwood, this had to have cost a fortune! You didn't have to get me this."
His posture is casual, but there's a glimmer of happiness in his eyes that is unmistakable. "I heard you talking to George about it a few weeks ago. It's your favourite book, and your birthday was recently. In all reality, I'd hoped to give it to you then, but today was the day I managed to get my hands on it."
"You -" The words get stuck in your throat, and you can almost feel yourself tearing up. "I've wanted this since I was a kid. I - Thank you, Lockwood. Seriously. This is..."
"You work so hard here," Lockwood says softly, "and I want you to know it doesn't go unnoticed. Besides, you've always been here for me. I wanted to give you something in return."
"I don't need anything in return for being a decent human being."
"Oh, all right. I'll take it back then."
Clutching the book tightly to your chest, you listen happily as he laughs again, throwing his head back a little. It's a wonderful sight, one that has your heart racing, one that makes you itch to throw your arms around him in the tightest embrace you can muster to simply show how grateful you are for the book, for his laugh and his smile and his presence.
But you refrain. Who's to say he won't just push you away?
"Thank you," you say again. "You're the best."
"I hope you're not just saying that because I pay your wages."
It's almost unnoticeable, but he shuffles forward ever so slightly. Already, you can feel the warmth radiating off of him and smell the faint scent of bitter tea and cheap shampoo underneath whatever aftershave he's put on. Your breath catches in your throat. There's less than a foot between you, but it has you fumbling for something to say or do.
"We should probably head downstairs," he murmurs, gaze fixed on yours. "The taxi will be here soon."
You nod. Neither of you moves.
He looks at you with those coppery eyes of his with a smile that feels distinctly private, and your heart thuds so loudly in your chest that you're convinced he can hear it, too. Words echo in your mind, words you want to say to him more than anything else, but your lips stay firmly shut.
How are you meant to tell him how you feel? That every time he merely looks at you, your heart starts beating as if you've just run a marathon? That you long to be the only person he shares his private smiles with, the only one that ever hears his true, unburdened laughs when you make a joke or make a fool of yourself? How are you supposed to explain that the times you spend with him are your favourites or that you search a dozen different shops simply to find his favourite biscuits to make him smile?
It's easy enough to list it to yourself, to find the words, but to say them to him? It's a different thing entirely, and it makes your mouth feel dry and your hands tremble a little.
"I need to tell you something," Lockwood says, and his voice has become breathier, quieter. "Just in case things go wrong tonight.”
"Nothing's going to go wrong."
He makes to take your book from your hands, and you hesitate. He only laughs, promising that it isn't going far, and slips it onto your crowded bookcase with gentle hands.
Gentle hands that soon reach for yours.
The touch takes you by surprise, but it's welcome. His hands are soft and warm, and they envelop yours. Now he has to be able to feel your racing pulse, surely. There's no way he can't.
"(name)..." He pauses, looking away from you for a moment. When his gaze returns, it's soft, nervous, even, and you find yourself transfixed, unable to look away. "I've been trying to tell you this for a few weeks now, but I couldn't - I couldn't figure out the words, so I resorted to other things. Making your tea in the mornings, asking you to come along with me on errands."
Bright, beautiful hope flickers in your chest, and this time you don't push it down. This time, you nurture it, letting it bring a small smile to your lips. Lockwood sees it, and he straightens a little with confidence. Not much, nowhere near as confident as he usually seems, but it keeps him speaking.
"Ever since you walked through the front door for your interview, I've never stopped thinking of you. Day and night, you're on my mind. The way you scrunch your nose when you're listening for Visitors, or how you become entirely unreachable when you read. How I can ask you anything, and you know the answer to it almost immediately."
His hands are shaking a little bit. You squeeze them softly.
"I like the way you smile, and how happy you are when I remember your order for Arif's. Most of all, I like -"
He's struggling with the words.
"Are you trying to say you like me?"
Part of you doesn't believe it. How could he? He's Anthony Lockwood, a boy from the city who owns his own company that breaks how the system of ghost-hunting works by simply having him be in charge. And you? You're a girl from some tiny town, a nobody whose only virtues are being relatively smart and being able to hear ghosts, though not on a grand scale. In reality, your paths would never have crossed if not for you finding a little clipping in the newspaper advertising for an agent.
So how could he like you? With his admirable Sight, the confidence that you always lack, the charm that could be used to entrance any girl he could ever so wish?
But here he stands, so close to you with shaky hands and faltering words, looking at you as if you've been placed here by some otherworldly forces solely for the purpose of enchanting him. He looks at you as if you're more than you really are, like someone a person could love and cherish.
"No," he says.
And your heart sinks all the way down to the floor, followed by your eyes. Your hands slacken in his, and your skin feels hot with embarrassment. You dread to think of how red you've become, and you turn your face away from him, instead looking at the book he gifted you. Were you stupid for hoping it meant more? Probably.
"I love you."
Three words. Three simple words that have your gaze snapping back to his, your heart rushing to your throat, and your hands tensing all at the same time. Three simple words that spark a blazing fire inside your chest. But, still, there's an ache in your throat.
"Don't kid with me, Lockwood."
His eyes are completely sincere, crinkled slightly with humour. "I'm not."
"You're about to laugh."
"Only because you're funny."
"I -" Your hands slip from his, and you brush your hair out of your face, faltering back a step. "You're being serious?"
With slightly pink cheeks and an almost shy smile, he says, "I am. I wouldn't joke about this, (name)."
"You - You love me? Why?"
"Didn't you listen to that long spiel I just had?" Once more, he takes a step closer. Then another until he's standing even closer than before, close enough that you can feel his breaths ruffling your hair slightly. "Because you're you. Because I admire and adore every single part of and about you."
You have to tilt your head to look at him with him being so close. "Have you hit your head recently?"
"If I have, and this is a dream, then I'm glad you're the girl of my dreams."
"Girl in your dreams," you correct quietly, halfheartedly.
Lockwood smiles. "I love that about you, too. That incessant need to correct me on anything I say."
"Someone's got to."
"Okay, well, correct me if I'm wrong, but would I be right in assuming that you feel the same?"
The words catch in your throat, but you nod regardless, smiling when his smile melts into his wide grin. This grin, it isn't the newspaper one. The infamous Lockwood Grin. This is only for you, something for you both to share solely between yourselves, and it's something you feel eternally grateful for being able to see, never mind be the cause of.
"Fantastic," he says, "because there's something I've been wanting to do for what feels like a lifetime now."
Your voice comes out shaky. "Would it perhaps involve kissing me?"
It does, apparently, because he leans closer until your faces are almost touching. His hands cup your face so gently it's as if they've been created from the air itself, but he waits, searching your eyes for any hesitation or rejection.
He never finds it. When your face tilts in accordance with his, he takes his cue and presses his lips onto yours.
You've never kissed anyone before, so the feeling is surreal. It's as if the very world around you melts away into nothingness until all you're aware of is him and his hands on your face, yours on his chest, his lips on yours. By no means is the kiss long, but it feels like eternity in a single second. Everything feels right and perfect.
When he pulls away, you're a little lost for breath, but you smile at him nonetheless, egged on by his dazzling grin. His hands still cup your face, and you're still clutching the blazer at his chest, but neither of you makes to move. Not when this feels so right.
"I'd do that again," he says softly, "but we have a taxi to get in."
"Who cares? One more?"
And he obliges before taking your hand in his and leading you out of the room. All the while, you yourself grin. Maybe you should be hopeful more often.
hehehe wrote a "fake dating/kiss" locklyle thing in my campus cafe mwah ha ha
“Lockwood, you have royally screwed us this time.” Lucy Carlyle muttered under her breath.
Anthony Lockwood scoffed, their forced proximity causing his breath to fan over Lucy’s face. She tried to suppress a shiver at the prolonged contact with his body that she was forced to maintain.
“Yeah, well- Luce, you might not believe me, but I certainly didn’t have this in mind while we were planning out how the case was going to go earlier.” Now it was Lucy’s time to scoff.
And what precarious situation did the members of Lockwood & Co. find themselves in this time, you might ask? Well, it just so happened that Lucy and Lockwood had to go “undercover”, as Lockwood like to call it, to retrieve yet another dangerous relic that had been stolen from the gravesite of another job that Lockwood had recklessly dove headfirst into, despite both George and Lucy consistently telling him that they were all way out of their depths.
And now, Lucy Carlyle was stuck in a horribly small broom closet in an intimidating warehouse-turned-banquet hall with Anthony Lockwood, her employer, her best friend, and the man she was extremely attracted to as they tried to evade being caught.
The night was not going well.
Lucy’s breath hitched as Lockwood laid a hand on her waist, trying to maneuver himself closer to the door so he could attempt to hear if anyone was coming down the hallway.
“What-” Lucy began to speak, but stopped as Lockwood put a finger to his lips. His face was the only thing she could see within the dark space due to the bright light leaking in from the gap between the closet door and the ground. “There’s someone coming.” He whispered, and Lucy nodded in understanding.
Lockwood moved back to his previous position, standing directly in front of her, but didn’t drop his hand from its place on her waist. She was grateful. That area of her body had been extremely, devastatingly cold just seconds before, so he was doing her a service, really, keeping his extremely warm hand on her extremely cold waist.
“What do we do now?” She forced herself to whisper, attempting (successfully) to find Lockwood’s eyes in the darkness. Suddenly, his other hand was also holding her waist, and thank god for that, because she was just thinking about how terribly cold that side of her was becoming.
“Plan K.” He whispered, and Lucy’s face contorted in confusion. She furrowed her brow as she searched her brain for whatever he meant by “plan K”. Lucy looked at him, and if she wasn’t so busy being confused, she would’ve noticed just how close his face was to hers. “What the hell is plan K?” She whispered, the rest of her mind catching up with what was occurring.
Lockwood’s arms were now wrapped around her waist, his forehead close to resting on her’s. Her hands had somehow made their way up and were resting on his chest. At this proximity, she could see everything- the batting of his eyelashes, the slight discoloration across his cheeks that might just be a blush, his open lips. She especially noticed his lips.
Lucy couldn’t breathe, but she felt her heart pounding an increasing staccato and she knew that if someone were to turn on the light, her face would be bright red. But she couldn’t worry about anything like that, because in that moment, Lucy Carlyle saw Anthony Lockwood’s eyes flit from her eyes down to her mouth, then up and back down again.
She was overwhelmed but in the best way possible. Lockwood’s chest was strong under her touch. His arms were around her waist. His eyes rested on her lips. And there were the telltale signs of someone running in the hallway.
“Please don’t hate me, Luce.” He pleaded, almost like a repentant prayer.
And then the door was opening, and Anthony Lockwood was kissing her.
The squirrel
Poly!Lockwood&co x Fem!reader
The reader is a pretty pink baby in this, also kinda dumb and innocent. So, she’s princess.
This is short but fluffy, and kinda on crack
Warnings: Non
“Put that down!” George shouted as he slapped a cookie out of lockwoods hand. “Ow, what’s your problem?” The boy groaned and rub his hand, lucy watched from the table with a amused smile at the boys. “They are only for our darling. Do you not remember how she gets when she’s not the first one to try them.” He reminded his boyfriend.
Anthony titled his head and remembered how pouty and annoyed you get, but the pout on your lips was the cutest. “What ever, she better get down here soon or they’re all mine.” He chuckled and sat down beside lucy at the table. Lucy laughed with him as they both watched Georges nose wrinkle up at the thought.
“You’ll have to deal with her tantrum.” He stated and turned around to make the tea. Lucy took Anthony hand in hers as she continued to read the paper looking for a new case. “Guys!” They jumped out of their skin as the kitchen door slammed open and almost made a dent in the wall.
“Watch the door!” Anthony shouted a bit but couldn’t help but smile at her, she was dressed in a pretty pink dress. Y/n looked at the door and back to them apologetically, but then her face went back to pure delight. “Okay, so there was this squirrel out the window and then it looked at me.” She rabble out quietly and they were surprised they understood.
“And I got closer and it didn’t even move, so I opened the window to see what it would do- Is that cookies?” She asked when she saw the pan full of cookies. “Yes, they are for you.” George smiled and handed her one which she took happily. “Awe thank you.” She kissed his cheek and began taking big bites. They watched as she got lost in her thoughts and zoned out while eating the cookie.
“Baby, you were telling us a story?” Lucy asked getting the girls attention. She snapped out of her thoughts and giggled, “Sorry, anyway so I opened the window and then it jumped in-” Lockwood cut her off by sitting up. “Is it still in the house?” He asked as she looked right at him.
She tried to stop herself from smiling but failed, she crosses her legs and tried to give him puppy eyes. “No…” she lied to him but they saw right through it, she was not a good lier. George put his arm around her waist, “Is there a rodent in the house?” The curly headed boy ask her. The girl looked at him and nodded.
“Yes, but don’t-” she saw lockwood get up and go towards the door. She rushed in front of him and smiled. “It’s so cute you can’t hurt it, it wouldn’t bother anything.” He looked down and saw her pout, he looked at her lips and the little expression on her face. He sighed and rolled his eyes, “You’re adorable,” he grabbed her chin and kissed her as she smiled thinking she had him.
“But there’s no chance that a squirrel is living here.” He carefully pushed her out of the way and went out the door. “But-” her mouth was covered and she looked back to see Lucy behind her. “Baby, it doesn’t belong in here. It needs to live out in the wild, he wouldn’t hurt it I promise.” She looked at her softly.
“Fine.” She huffed and crossed her arms and made the other girl coo at her. “Eat your breakfast, I’ll watch over lockwood.” Lucy kissed y/ns cheek and walked out the door. The girl looked at George and saw him already looking at her with his brows raised, she rolled her eyes as he began to speak.
“A squirrel? Really, pumpkin you need to think these things through.” He grabbed the plate he made for her and placed it on the table as she sat down. “It looked at me with these adorable eyes! I needed to pet it.” George couldn’t stay mad at her so he ruffled her hair.
“It wouldn’t even pay rent.” The girl looked at him and hit his arm as he continued to tease her. “Don’t make me put you in timeout-Ow!” She kicked him and laughed as he whined.
“Okay, you’ll get it now.” George smirks as he put his arm around her head and started to mess up her hair and she squirmed and screamed. She laughed but also fought against him to get free but he didn’t give up for a second.
Lockwood Pays Attention
Summary: Some of Lockwood's observations on Lucy after seeing her with a migraine. Starring George still being an icon and Lockwood being an oblivious lovesick fool...
Word count: 753
Trigger warnings: migraine mention, symptoms of migraine/migraine triggers, brief food mention. Let me know if I missed anything
Let me know how you like it, likes and re-blogs apppreciated!
In the weeks following Lucy’s migraine, Lockwood was extra observant and attentive. He thought he was being subtle. And while Lucy didn’t notice, George certainly did. If there was one thing Anthony Lockwood didn’t do well it was subtlety, which meant that Lucy was just as oblivious to the mutual feelings between the two. It wasn’t that Lockwood was hovering over her, but he checked in on her more often than usual, he always made sure to ask if she’d had enough during meal times, if she seemed spacey he asked if she needed to take a break. George wouldn’t deny being more affectionate with her either, in his own way, but it was nothing compared to Lockwood.
Good god George just wanted them to kiss and be done with it already. Mostly so Lockwood would stop hovering over his shoulder whenever he cooked.
“Would you knock it off? There is nothing wrong with my food!” George had spent the last few days batting the taller boy away from whatever pot was simmering on the stove and he was getting very tired of it. “Its my nan’s recipe and if you ruin it I won’t cook for you ever again-” “I didn’t say there was anything wrong with it, I’m just curious if the amount of salt might give Luce a headache.”
George let his head flop back dramatically. That’s what this is all about. “Well, for your information, Lucy happened to tell me that salt actually helps.” At that Lockwood whipped around, looking mildly offended, which didn’t make Geroge want to laugh at all. Nope, not one bit. “What? Why did she tell you and not me?”
“Because I asked if there was anything I could do to help or that I needed to change, since I’m the one who does the cooking. She said she likes salt and that it helps a headache before it’s a migraine and she asked if there was any cleaning agents that weren’t as smelly, because sometimes that alone is enough to give her one. And you are itching to write this down aren’t you?”
At least Lockwood had the decency to look taken aback by the accusation, but in reality yes, he did want to write it down. He had a little list going in a small notebook he kept on him of things he had noticed about Lucy’s headaches since the big one he and George had helped her through. He spent so much time looking at the list that he could visualize it without having to try hard; so far the list went a little something like this:
Sound- earplugs??
-sudden noises
-highpitched noises; screaming visitors are the worst
Too much sleep- lucy is nocturnal, survives on naps Cold- get a heater for her room; the cold makes her tense up
Peppermint? Potential allergy
And soon he would be adding a new page with things that could help Lucy, like tea and other hot drinks, salt apparently, and caffeine. The girl drank so much caffeine that it was almost cause for concern. Instead of telling all of this to George, who would undoubtedly poke fun and tell him that he was in love with Lucy, which he wasn’t-
Not that there was anything wrong with someone being in love with Lucy, she was very lovable. And he did love her in the you’re my family and I would die for you unquestioningly kind of way; which now that he thought about it could be misconstrued in a romantic sense, but he would also die for George without a second thought if it came down to it. Though he did put extra effort into making sure Lucy knew that he, and George, loved her. He wasn’t sure what happened before she came to London, but he knew enough to piece together that it wasn’t good and that she didn’t ever want to go back. And she seemed so starved for love, so sue him if he wanted to make sure she never felt that way when he had anything to say about it. Oh god. He did love Lucy. And he had been quiet for far too long and George was looking at him funny. So he scoffed. “No. I don’t want too write it down. I’m just concerned because one of my agents is suffering and I want to make sure that I am adequately prepared to help when necessary.” George cocked an eyebrow at that. “Mmmhmm sure, you keep telling yourself that.”
Deck the Halls (and not your partner) - part 9
this has been a long time coming but it's finally here! have some simping over lockwood's hands to make up for the wait (there's more next chapter too 😉)
Word count: 5k words
Warnings: swearing, Steph (HUGE WARNING, I HATE HER IN THIS BUT IT'S NECESSARY FOR THE CONTINUATION OF THE SERIES, SHE MADE ME WANT TO THROW UP), a lot of simping over lockwood's hands (also he's wearing a ring), innuendos ig? references to not so sfw times, vague references to body image issues and related things, I think that's it?
family photos and a gingerbread house competition (part 1)
series master list
(couldn't pick between these two so I put them both, you're welcome, also thinking about it they both match the vibes that lockwood has in this part)
“Remind me why we're doing this?”
“Because it's a tradition, Anthony. I would have thought this would be right up your street!”
“Well it is, but I don't see why we have to be stood next to Steph and Linda.”
“That's just Mum's positioning. She says it looks best that way and nobody argues with her.”
Anthony hummed, looking around at the family members gathered in the living room. The fire had been set up a few minutes ago, Ben stacking up the kindling like building blocks and setting some larger pieces of wood around them, striking a match and closing the door. Most people were already ready for the family photo, and Anthony and Y/n were sat on their loveseat while they waited for Steph and Linda to come downstairs.
Predictably, the two of them were still in their bedrooms fussing about the fact they had to do this, but Emma was taking full advantage of the fact that nobody could leave and had forced them into joining them.
"I don't know why they're so upset, really,” Anthony mused, trailing his fingertips over Y/n's shoulder. The way they were sat with her curled into his side made it a slightly awkward angle, but he could put aside the pain in his own shoulder if it meant he was closer to her. “I think that you look adorable in that jumper.” Y/n frowned, scrunching her nose up and glaring up at him.
“Adorable? I look like I've been shoved into a charity shop and been pulled out backwards through the racks!”
“The dancing reindeer really take the cake, if I'm being honest.”
“Stop it. They look deranged.”
“They look happy, darling.” He paused, taking in the wide eyes and toothy grins of the reindeer that decorated the matching red jumpers that the whole family were wearing. “And possibly like they've seen too many deaths. But they're smiling, and they've got... what is that, chocolate bars?”
“I think it's beer, Ant. The deranged reindeer are drinking beer while they're being wrapped up in a net of Christmas lights.”
"Christmas lights... that actually light up," he grinned, pressing the button on her jumper to demonstrate his point. Y/n sighed, trying to look cross with him, but the small smile on her face gave her away.
“You're such a ridiculous idiot sometimes,” she said quietly, gazing fondly at him. The lights on her jumper were still flashing, decorating her face in different colours.
“Yeah, but I'm your ridiculous idiot.” She snorted, then kissed him gently on the lips. If they hadn't been in the presence of most of her family members, Anthony would have held her there for hours.
As it was, however, she reluctantly pulled away a few seconds later, smiling widely when he automatically chased her mouth.
“Alright, love birds, stop making the rest of us feel so single and lonely,” Will called out, attempting to sound annoyed. Anthony knew that the man couldn't be happier about his little sister getting a boyfriend, and that he was easily settling in to his newfound role of teasing them about their relationship.
“Shove off, Will,” Y/n rolled her eyes and stuck her tongue out at her brother, and he responded by sneakily giving her the middle finger.
“Right,” Emma declared, looking around the room at everyone gathered. “Where's Linda? And Steph?”
"I think they're still upstairs, Mum," John replied, not looking up from the sofa as he sat on top of Sam and whacked him around the head with a pillow. Sam looked like he was being slightly suffocated under his brother's weight, but nobody seemed to take much notice. The two of them fought like that a lot, and Anthony supposed that everyone was used to it now which was why nobody intervened.
“John, stop killing your brother for five minutes and go and find them. Tell them they need to come down right away or I'm dragging them. And putting flour in their hair.” John went to complain, but at the glare that was sent his way he quickly shut his mouth and headed out the room, not before delivering one last hit to Sam's head for good measure.
Within three minutes John was back, Linda and Steph in tow as they grumbled about the jumpers they had been forced into.
“This is disgusting. And we're all wearing the same ones? Really, Emma? It's bad enough that you made your own sister wear this... monstrosity, but forcing it on all of us? Unbelievable.” Anthony barely hid his scowl as Linda talked down on her sister, and if he didn't think Emma could defend herself he would have leapt to do it himself.
“You can take it off the moment we're done here, alright? But this is my house, Linda, and you're playing by my rules. It's not like you can go anywhere, so you might as well shut it and take the damn photo with us.”
Linda opened and closed her mouth like a fish for a few moments, before deciding against responding and moving to where her sister had pointed for her to stand.
“Thank you,” Emma sighed, finishing setting up the camera. “Right, everyone get into position please, no squabbling!”
Anthony smiled as Y/n huffed and stood up, stretching out her limbs after being curled up in his lap for the past however many minutes, and within the next five minutes (that felt much longer than that) all family members present were in the places that Y/n’s mother had assigned to them, and she was clicking the button on the camera to take the photo. She rushed to take her own place next to Ben as the timer started counting down, plastering on a wide smile a second before the flash went.
“Can we go now?” Steph whined from where she stood to Anthony’s left. She’d had to squeeze in to fit in the picture, and the sheer amount of perfume she had on was making Anthony suffocate slightly.
“Uh, hang on. Let me check that it’s a good photo. Ugh, Tom, honey, you’re meant to be smiling, not staring at the camera like you want to kill it. Let’s try again. Sam, don’t be making stupid faces this time, alright?”
“Yes, Mum,” Sam said, stifling a laugh when Will poked him in the side. Nana Jean ruffled Tom’s hair, much to Emma’s chagrin (it had taken her ages to get it somewhat neat), but the action gained a smile in response.
They tried again, the flash going off a second time, and when Emma gave the all-clear Linda and Steph immediately moved to take off their jumpers. “Hideous things,” Linda muttered, clearly not in the holiday spirit.
“You two had better not go anywhere,” Nana Jean said, pointing a crooked finger at them when they went to leave. “We’re building gingerbread houses next and if nothing else it’ll be a competition where you can attempt to destroy everyone else, so get your asses in the kitchen!” Anthony had been pleasantly surprised at how much energy the 80-year-old woman had, especially since her knees were basically completely ruined, and he had found himself engaged in lively conversation with her on more than one occasion. She wasn’t entirely fond of Y/n’s choice of work, but from what Anthony could tell that was more to do with the fact that she was very fond of her granddaughter, and would rather not receive a letter in the mail telling her that Y/n was dead.
“We’ll go together, right?” Y/n asked, looking up at him while everyone was getting into pairs. He was just about to answer when Nana Jean appeared out of nowhere and grabbed his arm. He looked down at her in surprise (she was quite a small woman), confusion all over his face.
“I’m taking this one, you can go with your Gramps. I’ve never won with him, not once. This’ll be my year, I can feel it! And your lover boy is going to help me!”
“Good luck, Nana. I don’t think Anthony can cook toast, let alone gingerbread.” Y/n was smirking, crossing her arms as she let triumph seep into her expression despite not having started the competition yet.
“Oh really? You also didn’t think I’d be any good at snowball fights. You’d be surprised what I can do with my hands, darling.” He immediately blushed at the look on Y/n’s face, and steadfastly refused to look at either her or Nana Jean. “I didn’t mean it like that,” he muttered, shaking his head and hoping the situation would end so he could go and bury himself in blankets and hibernate for years. He felt someone nudge his side and his cheeks got hotter still when he saw Nana Jean smiling up at him with a cheeky look on her face.
“I’m sure Y/n/n knows all about what your hands can do, love.”
“Nana!” Y/n cried, exasperation in her voice. “You can’t say that!”
“Well I don’t think I’m wrong! You’ve been together eight months now; I married your Gramps in less time! Come on, Anthony!” She cheerfully turned and headed out the living room, dragging Anthony behind her and leaving Y/n to stand staring incredulously after them.
~~~
Y/n still hadn’t fully recovered from Anthony’s comment (and then Nana Jean’s addition) about his hands, and she was meant to be making gingerbread.
Her Gramps had settled at the dining table with tracing paper, a pencil and far too many rulers, while she was measuring out the ingredients and mixing them together in a large bowl. He’d been an architect before he retired, helping draw up the plans for the Fittes Building and providing sketches for housing that had helped when people were on the streets at the beginning of the Problem because their houses were unsafe. Y/n had listened to him talking about his job a thousand times, but she still didn’t know what the purpose of all the different rulers were.
“Gramps, you know you don’t have to get that technical about it, right?”
“Oh yes I do! I’m not letting Jeanie win this year, oh no! She thinks I’ve lost my touch with architecture, but I was doing badly deliberately because I knew, one year, she’d get fed up and go with someone else! She has no idea what’s coming!” Her Gramps chuckled, shaking his head and clutching his side as he thought about how deceptive he had been. Y/n smiled, remembering all the previous years where Nana Jean had become so exasperated at his apparent incapability that she’d given up all hope of winning with him. It had had no impact on their marriage, and the two of them were just as in love as they had been when they first got married, but Nana Jean also had a healthy love of winning things, and gingerbread was one of her specialties.
“Focus, love, you’re tipping the mix out the bowl,” her Gramps said, nudging her in the arm. Y/n looked down to see the mess that she’d made over the table, and cursed softly under her breath. “What were you thinking about to make you zone out like that?” She flushed, and cast a quick glance over to where Anthony was stood at the island in the kitchen carrying out the same job as her. Without thinking, her gaze drifted down to where his hands were mixing the ingredients together in the bowl, and when her Gramps coughed she snapped her focus back to him and realised that she hadn’t actually given him an answer. Damn her Nana for saying what she said about Anthony’s hands and putting thoughts into her head!
“Sorry,” she muttered, trying to ignore the weird look he was giving her and the heat that was now permanently in her cheeks.
“That’s alright, love. Just scoop it back up, like this, there we are. That’s looking pretty good I’d say. Go ahead and add the next bits now, and I’ll finish drawing up these stencils.”
~~~
“What do I need to do now?” Anthony asked, holding his hands just above the bowl. Nana Jean looked over from where she had finished cutting up the last of the stencils and smiled.
“Ah, you’ve added in the butter mixture, good lad. Looks perfect to me, so let’s get it rolled out and we can start cutting. We need to make sure we get to the oven before Richard and Y/n do, because then we’ll have a head start on the decorating.”
“Alright.”
“You might want to wash your hands first though, what with all that mix on there. Make sure you get as much as you can in the bowl before you go and scrub ‘em.” Anthony nodded, starting to push off all the gingerbread mix that had clung to his fingers while he’d been bringing the ingredients together. He heard laughter from across the room and immediately recognised it as Y/n’s, which was strange because he didn’t think that he’d heard her laugh so unapologetically since coming here. Normally it was forced, or real but contained, and although they hadn’t got along before this entire situation had happened she had still laughed like she was currently (normally when he fell over from tripping on his coat). She was gorgeous when she smiled widely, and even more so when she laughed, and Anthony paused in his actions as he watched her be properly happy around her family for one of the first times this holiday.
He knew that she got on well with her Gramps, despite his reservations about her job and some of the comments he made about her being ‘too much to handle sometimes’, but clearly they could forget about that when they were baking together, without the pressure of Steph and Linda watching their every move.
No, Anthony had that pleasure, and Steph’s eyes hadn’t left his face for the past thirty minutes.
He felt the weight of her gaze now, and after sending a small wave to Y/n when she looked over and saw him (she’d stuck her middle finger up in response, but had immediately blown him a kiss when he acted hurt) he sighed and turned to Steph. “Can I help you?” He asked, resuming his previous actions of taking the gingerbread mixture off of his hands and depositing it into the bowl.
“I think you can,” she answered, plastering on a sickly sweet smile and slowly walking over to stand on his left. She stopped barely a hair’s breadth away from his arm, and the perfume she had on was swarming his senses and making him want to gag. It was just as cloying as her smile. “See, I’ve been thinking a lot recently,” Steph started, and Anthony bit back his retort of ‘careful, don’t strain yourself too much’ and tried not to flinch when her hand came in contact with his shoulder. “I think that we haven’t really had a chance to… get to know one another. Properly. And I really would like to… get to know you, Anthony.” Her fingers danced down his arm, and he couldn’t help the grimace that came across his face at her tone. He stepped away a little, trying to not knock Nana Jean while still putting some distance between Stephanie and her wandering hands (that had since moved to his chest).
“I’m not sure I follow,” he frowned, turning and moving to the sink. He’d gotten as much of the sticky gingerbread mixture off of his hands as possible, and now all that was left was to douse them in water. Steph followed him, gripping his arm tightly and restricting his movement. He was too good of an agent to panic - panicking in his line of work meant almost-certain death - but he could feel unease creeping up his spine and a chill working its way into his bones like miasma.
“Why don’t we take a minute? Out in the hallway?” He really didn’t like the way she’d said that, all low and what seemed like an attempt at seduction (he couldn’t tell because it was so bad, but from the look in her eyes he could make a guess), and he shook his head.
“I’ve got to stay here, help out Jean. Shouldn’t you be making your own gingerbread?”
“Oh, that thing? No, we never win so what’s the point? I’d much rather spend some time with you… alone.” Anthony finished washing his hands, trying to ignore how Steph’s grip on his arm had somehow grown stronger in the last minute, and turned back to the island. His eyes scanned the kitchen and dining room, desperately searching for someone that would see he’d been accosted and would come to his rescue, but everybody was busy making gingerbread houses.
“A minute and a minute only. No more than that,” he said, giving in. Steph’s smile turned smug, and she dragged him out of the kitchen, at which point Nana Jean did look up, sending him a questioning look. Anthony mouthed ‘sorry, back in a moment’ just in time before the kitchen door shut in his face. He sighed, closing his eyes and clenching his jaw in preparation for whatever the hell Steph wanted. “Right,” he started, opening his eyes again and looking around for her. “What’s so urgent that you needed to-” He was cut off by Steph practically lunging at him, grabbing his face and pushing her lips onto his. It took him roughly a second to figure out what was happening, and he quickly got over his initial shock and shoved her off. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?!” He wiped the back of his hand over his mouth, looking at Steph with disgust.
“Oh come on! I know for a fact that you and Y/n aren’t actually together, so what does it matter? Besides,” she continued, sidling up to him again when he took a step back, “I know that deep down you want this, Anthony.” He frowned, both at her words and at how she was still coming towards him, and the previous chill that had settled on him was now a raging storm. He kept it contained, not wanting to cause too much of a scene when anyone could hear what was happening on the other side of the door (that was now blocked by Steph), but the anger was evident when he spoke.
“I’m not sure where you got those ideas from, Stephanie, or why you think that I will ever want you when Y/n is in my life, but you need to stop.” She tried to contain her shock at his rough tone, but the way her eyes widened gave her away.
“Wha-”
“Let me finish. First of all, why do you think we’re not actually together? Are you so disbelieving of the fact that Y/n is a genuinely incredible person and could absolutely get anyone she wanted? Because I consider myself lucky that she even tolerates my presence half the time, let alone wants to date me. Second, even if we weren’t together, it would matter to me. I’m not the sort of person who switches loyalties that easily, and I will always, always, put my relationship with Y/n before any kind of attempted civilities with you. As it happens, she is my girlfriend, and quite honestly the fact that you think I’ll ever leave her for you is laughable.” He was being mean, he knew, but he was too done with Steph’s behaviour to worry about being nice and charming now. He’d pieced together the last of the puzzle that had been bothering him since he first got here too, connecting the dots between Linda and Steph’s comments and Y/n’s subsequently strange behaviour since arriving here. “So no, I do not want this. What I want is for you to stop bullying her, and belittling her, and making her feel like shit all the damn time, because she doesn’t deserve it,” he seethed, jabbing his finger in her face. “She doesn’t deserve any of it at all. All the comments about how much she’s eating, or her body shape, or giving her a gym membership as a Christmas present, or telling her she’s not pretty enough because she doesn’t look like you, or because she wears the same dress two years in a row, all of that needs to stop. Because you make her act like an entirely different person when you’re around and that is not alright. Because Y/n is ten times the person that you will ever be, Steph, because she isn’t a bully. She’s genuine, and kind, and loving, and the most beautiful girl in the entire universe, and she doesn’t deserve a single iota of the hate that you give her.”
Steph was quiet for a minute, processing everything he’d just ranted about. “I overheard you,” she finally said, not looking at him. “That first night when Y/n stormed off upstairs in some stupid tantrum-”
“She stormed off upstairs because you were being a bitch.”
“Right,” Steph didn’t looked too bothered, but she at least had the grace to flinch at his icy tone. “Well after you went up, I followed, because yeah, you’re right, I am very disbelieving that someone as good-looking as you would ever go for someone as ugly as her when you know you could do at least twenty times better, and I thought there was something weird about it! And there was a very large period of time when I couldn’t hear anything, which was really annoying because my legs were getting tired from-”
“Steph, hurry it up.” He had barely any patience remaining now, and her voice had gone all whiny and irritating.
“Oh, yeah. Well, then I heard you two talking about how it was really hard pretending to like each other or something, and you were arguing and saying that you were pretending to date.” Anthony froze for a moment, but rapidly recovered and eased himself into his normal ‘customer service’ persona, plastering on a pitiful smile. Before he could say anything though, Steph was moving towards the kitchen door, one hand on the handle. “It’s been quite fun, really, watching you fake a relationship to everyone. I’ve been trying to work out when the best time to bring it up was ever since Christmas Day after you had a go at me. So, either you tell them all, or I do. You’ve got nowhere to hide now, and I am going to enjoy watching this whole thing collapse on Y/n. I’ll give you until after the competition’s been judged; I wouldn’t want to ruin the festivities.” Her smile was even more sickening than it had been when she’d first started this conversation back in the other room, and after she disappeared into the kitchen and closed the door behind her, Anthony let out a shaky breath he hadn’t been aware he was holding.
He needed to talk to Y/n before the end of the competition, and figure out how the hell they were going to deal with Steph.
~~~
She couldn’t stop staring at his hands.
Since coming back in from whatever hallway conversation he’d had with Steph, Anthony had gone right back to helping Nana Jean with a smile on his face, despite the wary glances he kept throwing towards Y/n’s cousin. She hadn’t seen the two of them step out, but she had noticed that Anthony was gone, because she’d gone to look at his hands again and he wasn’t there.
Her Gramps was helping her cut out the shapes they would need for their gingerbread house, and she’d been doing just fine until out of the corner of her eye she’d seen Anthony slip back on the ring he always wore.
He had taken it off earlier when Nana Jean told him he needed to mix the ingredients with his hands, not wanting to get the metal coated in gingerbread mix, but now that his hands were clean again he was adjusting it back on his finger.
Why couldn’t she stop staring at his hands?
She’d nearly cut a piece of gingerbread entirely wrong just now because she had been too focused on how the metal band looked against his slender fingers while he rolled out the gingerbread, and her Gramps had scolded her by chucking a bit of flour at her face.
“Pay attention, love, you’re very distracted today. Is everything alright?”
“Oh, uh- yeah… yes. Everything is… is fine.” She hadn’t taken her eyes off of his ring, which meant she didn’t see either her Gramps’ concerned look or Anthony’s bemused one until Will was calling across the kitchen.
“Keep it in your pants, Squeak! You can take your Lover Boy to bed after the gingerbread competition!” Y/n flushed as her gaze snapped up to meet Anthony’s, finally noticing that she’d been caught blatantly checking out his hands.
“Alright, Will,” her mother scolded, although there was a hint of amusement behind it that made Y/n want the ground to swallow her up. Anthony just raised his eyebrows at her, smirk on his face, and she didn’t have it in her to fight back, instead turning back to the gingerbread in front of her and cutting out the last of the shapes.
~~~
“Hey,” Anthony said, finally getting a chance to talk to Y/n. Pretty much everybody either had their gingerbread shapes in the ovens, or they were waiting for a space to free up, so he had been excused by Nana Jean for a while.
“Oh, hi!” She hadn’t seen him walk over, but the second she realised he was there she reached up and planted a quick kiss on his mouth. He felt himself blush, despite it being over faster than most of their kisses, and she let out a snort. “Really? All I did was give you a peck on the lips, Ant.”
A wave of confidence came over him, and although the heat stayed on his cheeks he leaned down to murmur in her ear. “Well I wasn’t doing much with my hands but I still had you blushing, didn’t I darling?” Y/n had no answer to that (not that it had really been a question; he’d seen her staring earlier and he was almost certain her thoughts had drifted somewhere other than something innocent), and before he pulled back Anthony pressed a lingering kiss just by her ear.
“You- y- you can’t just say that, Ant! Jesus!” He laughed, wrapping his arm around her waist and bringing her into his chest while she hid her face in his neck. He hummed, happy, until he caught a glimpse of Steph out of the corner of his eye.
“Darling?”
“What?” she replied, although it was somewhat muffled since her head was still buried in his christmas jumper.
“We need to talk about something really quickly, do you want to step out?” Y/n lifted her head, frown crossing her features. Anthony wanted to press kisses to it until it disappeared, but the conversation he’d had with Stephanie was at the front of his mind.
“Okay… is everything alright?” she asked as he led her out of the kitchen by the hand. He didn’t say anything until they were in the library, safely away from all other family members. “Ant, seriously, what’s going on?”
“Steph talked to me earlier.”
“Right… how was it?”
“Awful. She kissed me.”
“WHAT?!”
“Darling, it’s fine, it was less than a second and I shoved her off and-“
“What? Oh! Oh, no, I’m not angry with you, Ant. I’m pissed at her for kissing my fucking boyfriend!”
“Ah. Okay. Well that’s not actually the thing I wanted to talk about.”
“There’s more?!”
“She knows. That we’re not… that we weren’t… that we were faking it. She doesn’t know that we stopped doing that and started actually dating, because she walked away before I could tell her that, but she’s known since the first night and she’s been waiting ever since. She gave me an ultimatum, and said that either we fess up or she does, right after the competition has been judged. Seemed far too happy about watching you suffer, to be honest. I think she might need to see a doctor.” Y/n stared at him, her mouth opening and closing a few times before she shut it completely.
“So, Steph knows. Steph has known basically the entire time. And Steph has done nothing?”
“Yes. She said something about wanting to ‘watch the whole thing collapse on you’ and that she would ‘enjoy it’ or something?”
“That bitch. Well what are we gonna do then? Because whatever happens it sounds like my family is finding out about this whole… thing,” she flapped her hands between them before sighing and pressing them to her face. “I was right. This is a shitshow.”
“Hey, hey. Worst case scenario is Steph tells everyone, yes? But then we can just tell them the truth. Will knows, and he’ll back us up, right? And I’m fairly certain that Nana Jean knows but I’m not sure how, she just kept making these little comments while we were baking earlier and winking at me and I just - it just feels like she knows.”
“Nana Jean’s just like that, I suppose. It would make sense if she knew. Okay. You’re right. We can do this. We’ll just wait until Steph tells everyone, and then tell the truth.” Y/n paused for a moment, looking down at the floor while she chewed her lip. “I don’t think I can tell the truth,” she said, and when she brought her gaze back up her eyes were shining with the tears that were threatening to fall. Anthony stepped closer, framing her face in his hands and planting a soft kiss to her forehead.
“You don’t need to tell the whole truth. Not if you don’t want to. Just the bit about us being in a proper relationship now if you like, and I can do that if you need me to. But whatever you choose, darling, I’ll be with you. I will be right by your side, Y/n, always.”
“Thank you, Anthony.”
“Anytime, my darling. Anytime at all.”
He hoped she knew just how much he meant it.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
Lucy can’t tell if nothing has changed or if everything has.
On the one hand, life following their engagement continues on just about as it always has. She’s known for ages that her life and Anthony’s were inseparably intertwined. She knows he loves her, with a certainty that she’d never have thought possible only a few short years earlier. The fact that they were now engaged to be married did not cement these truths in Lucy’s mind any more than they had already been.
But she cannot say that her world is entirely unaltered either. Every time she moves she feels the foreign weight of the ring on her hand, accompanied by a spike of breathless excitement. It’s impossible to feel like nothing has changed when everything she does is now accompanied by the reminder that she’s going to marry Anthony. That he wants to be with her, and only her. That he’s so certain of his choice that he wants to promise to stay with her for the rest of his life even though they’re barely adults by the world’s standards.
It’s insane, Lucy knows it’s insane. But nothing in her life has ever felt so perfectly right, either.
Anthony is his usual suave self, complete with blinding smiles and uncharted levels of confidence, but there are differences in him as well. The genuine, soft happiness that Lucy often catches glimpses of in quiet moments now burns bright and unchecked. It’s in the long looks he throws her way, in the tone of his voice when he talks to her, in the way he takes her hand under the table or pulls her into a quiet corner for a moment alone. In everything Anthony Lockwood does, it is clear: there has never been anyone as perfectly happy as he is, and she is the reason.
Well, if they’re measuring happiness, Lucy’s pretty sure she could give him a run for his money.
They don’t tell anyone outright, but in a family like theirs, there’s absolutely no chance of keeping something like this secret for long. And sure enough, it doesn’t even take a day before Holly notices the ring on Lucy’s finger.
They’re all in the office when it happens, making preparations for that evening’s case. Lucy’s deep in discussion with Anthony, sitting on the side of her desk with her feet propped up on the side of his. He is opposite her, leaning against his desk, one hand resting on her ankle. She’s got her arms folded, the fingers of her left hand absentmindedly drumming on her arm as they spoke.
Holly’s unholy shriek from the other side of the room draws the attention of everyone in the office. There’s a moment of silence in which Holly’s hands cover her mouth, and then pandemonium breaks loose.
“Holly, what—”
Anthony is interrupted by Quill, who comes skidding in from the practice room with his rapier out defensively. “What is it, what’s happened?”
Holly darts around the workbags and belts that are neatly arranged around her, unapologetically knocking George’s latest experiment off of his desk as she crosses the room and ignoring his protests in the resulting crash. “Lucy Carlyle, is that what I think it is?”
Unnerved by the sudden commotion and Holly’s piercing gaze, Lucy can only manage a startled “what?”
The question comes from both her and George, who abruptly abandons his mess in favor of discovering what it is that has the normally composed Holly so excited. Behind them all, Quill lets out a long-suffering sigh. “So no one’s dying in here? We’re just shrieking at will now, is that it?”
He’s more or less ignored as Holly grabs Lucy’s hand in both of hers, pulling until she can see the ring clearly. Across from Lucy, Anthony starts to laugh, holding up his hands in surrender when Lucy shoots him the sternest look she can manage.
“It is, isn’t it?” Holly squeals, shoving Lucy’s hand in front of George’s face so he can see it as well. “Oh, I knew something was up, you’ve both been giggling all day!”
“Giggling?” Anthony protests, though he’s still laughing and Lucy’s scowling “have not” drowns him out. Quill’s moving in from behind now, craning his neck in an effort to see. “I’d love to be clued in,” he says to no one in particular.
“Lucy’s got an engagement ring,” Holly beams, taking pity on him at last and showing him the ring. “Right?” she asks Lucy, whose face is burning so hot that she’s certain it’s turned a deep shade of red.
“I do, in fact,” Lucy says, exasperated, “though I missed the part where it’s anyone else’s business. And I’d like my hand back.”
Holly doesn’t seem to hear her, she’s too busy inspecting the beautiful setting. Lucy can’t blame her for that; the ring is breathtaking, and she’s spent her own fair share of time that day staring at it herself.
“I suppose that’s your ring then, Lockwood?” George asks, looking pointedly between him and Lucy.
“Wouldn’t that be a riot if it wasn’t,” Quill mutters, though he is now grinning as broadly as Holly.
“It’s mine,” Anthony says, with just the slightest hint of defensiveness in his tone. “Well, now it’s Lucy’s, technically.”
George straightens, pushing his glasses up his nose with one finger. “You’re getting married.” It’s not a question, just a statement of fact.
Nothing Lucy has thought or heard yet has so perfectly captured her own feelings on the subject as George’s blunt observation. They’re getting married. It’s not a question, a what if, or a dream. It’s simply what is—what always was going to happen. She smiles at George broadly. “Yeah, we are.”
There is pandemonium again at that, though it’s of a less panicked variety than the first. Holly continues to squeal, hugging Lucy, then Anthony, then Lucy again, before giving in and hugging them both. When they can get Holly out of the way, Quill and George both offer their congratulations in the form of handshakes. George is boasting a rare smile and Quill’s handshake with Lucy turns into a one-armed hug, and then Holly’s back again. A host of questions follows, most of them predictably revolving around when they’re planning to have the wedding, though Holly’s questions turn very quickly towards flowers and colors and dresses and a million other things that Lucy hasn’t even had the time to consider yet.
They’d barely even talked about dates, let alone all the rest of it, so Lucy shrugs off all the questions with a simple “we’ll let you know.”
“Hopefully soon,” Anthony adds, and Lucy knows in no uncertain terms that he means the wedding itself. His gaze burns into hers, setting her heart racing and her face aflame all over again. She shoots him a patented Carlyle Look, but the effect is ruined by the smile that is drawn out of her at the sight of him—flushed, beaming, happy. He takes her hand in his, lacing their fingers together with a reassuring squeeze that Lucy returns.
George and Quill both take the sudden shift in atmosphere as their cue to leave. With a final round of congratulations and a few pointed looks, they head up the spiral staircase together. Lucy distinctly hears Quill’s amused voice muttering about babies marrying babies before she’s distracted by Holly, who poses one last question. “How did you propose, Lockwood?”
“I just asked her,” Anthony shrugs, winking at Lucy when she rolls her eyes, completely unimpressed.
“I had to relive every near-death experience we’ve ever had,” Lucy protests, turning to face her incorrigible boyfriend. Fiancé. Another fabulous look is destroyed by the smile that springs to life at this mental correction. “Vague comments with no context. For a week. That’s ‘just asking,’ is it?”
His smile matches hers, and though his words are teasing, his voice can only be described as smitten. “I had to wait for the right moment or the effect would have been ruined, Luce.”
“Right, and you got no enjoyment whatsoever out of teasing me in the meantime.”
“I didn’t say that.”
“Anthony Lockwood—”
They’re interrupted by a laugh from Holly, who Lucy had quite forgotten was even in the room. Her attention had focused in on Anthony, his infuriating smirk, his endearing blush, his teasing that warmed her right down to her toes. His inherent gravitational pull—stronger now than it had ever been before—had done the rest.
“Nevermind,” Holly grins. She looks from Lucy to Anthony and back again with such a knowing look that Lucy is immediately mortified. “I’ll ask you later, Luce. I’m so happy for you both.” She turns and heads for the spiral staircase, tossing the same knowing look over her shoulder before disappearing into the kitchen above and leaving the office suddenly, blessedly silent.
Lucy lets out a breath of relief. “That went over better than I thought it would.”
“Did you see that look?” Anthony murmurs in her ear, his tone unapologetic despite his blush. “You’d think we were getting up to all kinds of mischief when they’re not looking.”
“We are,” Lucy says brazenly, but the rest of her retort stalls when Anthony presses a kiss just below her ear.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” He doesn’t pull away; instead his lips brush against her skin as he speaks, sending shivers straight to Lucy’s toes. He kisses her again where her neck meets her jaw, lingering there as his arms circle her from behind. “I find all this talk of marriage has put me in an extremely good mood.”
“Must be nice,” Lucy grumbles, though her voice catches with each new kiss. “Mostly it’s just given me anxiety.”
Lucy can feel his smile growing, feel his breath warm on her skin. “I can change that.”
TVD 9x06 (part 1) Enjoy! =)
Cut to – freaky old mansion, Darius’s room. A portal closes; we see Bonnie laying on Darius’s bed, in a deep sleep, Danae still holding her hand.
DARIUS: Hello, sister.
DANAE: (Looking terrified) Darius…
DARIUS: Don’t look so frightened, Lish, I’m the one looking at a ghost. God, it’s crazy seeing you in the flesh… (he tries to touch her, she quickly steps aside in a panic).
DARIUS: Calm down, I’m not going to hurt you. You made me a promise (looks at Bonnie) and you kept it.
DANAE: I did, now let me go.
DARIUS: I’m sorry, sis, but I can’t do that.
DANAE: We had a deal…
DARIUS: And I will keep my word. I said I wouldn’t hurt you, and I won’t, pinky swear. But I’m sure you can understand why I can’t let you go; can’t have any loose ends…
DANAE: You bastard!
DARIUS: (Sarcastic laugh) I think we both know who the bastard is; mother was always such a flirt.
DANAE: Please, just let me go. I followed your instructions; I swear I’ll keep my mouth shut and disappear.
DARIUS: (Changing the subject) You know, it truly baffles me that you would think I wasn’t aware that you have been alive for all these years… Come on, Lish, I thought you were smarter than that… Do you really think all that tragedy came from karma? Granted it must’ve had a hand in it, but… really? You couldn’t figure it out? Guess the genius genes do come from my father’s side…
DANAE: You’ve known all this time?
DARIUS: Of course, I have. The only reason you are still alive is not because of your flawed immortality serum, which I’ve perfected, by the way, but because I’ve allowed you to… What can I say, I’m a sucker for family drama.
DANAE: You are insane…
DARIUS: We all go a little mad sometimes… (with sarcasm) Yet, I wasn’t the one locked up in an Asylum for years.
DANAE: It was you... You were the one that got me locked up…
DARIUS: Oh no, you did that all on your own; I only suggested the pertinent treatments.
DANAE: (In painful wrath) They put a needle through my eyeball, you crazy fuck!
DARIUS: Trial and error, sis, that’s the only way to verify a theory… just ask your “friend” Marie… Oh wait, you can’t…
DANAE: (Charges him) I’ll kill you!!!!
DARIUS: (Restrains her with his hands; Bonnie starts to move) Shhhhh… you are waking her up. It’s time for you to take a time out; I’ll take it from here. (Some freaky hooded people come in and take Danae away, Darius sits by the bedside, holds Bonnie’s hand).
DANAE: (As she is being taken away) She is going to destroy you, and I’m going to enjoy every minute of it!
DARIUS: (To the hooded people) Put her in the bunker.
Cut back to – The Mikaelson mansion, 12:05 am. It’s pitch dark. Everyone is passed out on the floor; after a few seconds, they start to react.
DAMON: (Confused) What the hell happened?
ALARIC: I have no idea, but… (before he can even finish his sentence, Damon vamps upstairs to check on Bonnie; she and Danae have vanished… Damon, desperately, vamps his way through every inch of the mansion looking for her, she’s nowhere to be found).
KLAUS: (Also searching) Damon, we have searched everywhere, they are gone.
DAMON: How? We were all by the door, there is no way…
KLAUS: Cloaking spell, who knows? You seem to forget how magic works, my friend, anything is possible. Now, let’s go get the others. (They regather with the group downstairs, Klaus lights some candles so that everyone can have some visibility).
ALARIC: What is going on?!
KLAUS: Bonnie and Danae are gone.
ALARIC: What!? How?
KLAUS: Enough with the how; we need to focus on the where and why.
TYLER: Uhm, guys, I think we have another problem (points to Katherine who is in a catatonic state, they try to snap her out of it, but she is unresponsive, completely lost in a daze).
LEXI: Can’t believe this is happening! I thought we had the perfect plan...
ALARIC: They must have figured it out, orchestrated some sort of stealth attack…
RADKA: All I remember was waiting by the door to attack upon arrival, then I saw an overwhelming light and blacked out.
KHUYANA: Me too…
ALARIC: I think we all did.
DAMON: Enough with the chit chat; we need to find Bonnie.
ALARIC: And we will, Damon, but we have to figure out what we are dealing with first.
DAMON: What is there to figure out, Ric? We know what we are dealing with; a lunatic mind-freak asshole, and his cult groupies. So, let’s skip the over rationalization, and get to the action. Plan is simple, find these bastards, kill these bastards, get Bonnie back.
KLAUS: I agree with Damon, for once.
CAROLINE: Me too.
ALARIC: I would like nothing more, but we don’t even know where these cult freaks are!
KHUYANA: I have a feeling someone might… Matt.
KLAUS: Well, love, that’s not very helpful given that your husband was a no show.
TYLER: My bet is that he’s at the Mayor house; Matt told me he was hosting a Halloween ball; and, for some fucked reason, Matt always seems to be wherever he is.
DAMON: So, what are we waiting for? Let’s go!
CAROLINE: I’m game, but first we need to stop by the house and make sure everyone is okay. And leave this one (referring to Katherine) to someone’s care.
DAMON: We can’t waste any time, Care. Klaus, Tyler and I will go find Matt, you guys go back to the house. Once we find Donovan, we’ll drag his sneaky ass back and figure out our next move.
CAROLINE: Okay, just please, don’t do anything without us.
KLAUS: We won’t, love, I’ll make sure of it.
DAMON: Whatever; (to Klaus and Tyler) wolf-boys, let’s move.
Everyone leaves; as they are driving, they stare in disbelief at the scenery; the entire town seems to be having a total blackout; not a single light at sight.
Cut to – freaky old mansion. Darius takes Bonnie into a private section of the mansion. It’s a strange ballroom, set up as a worship haven, reminiscing of Stanley Kubrick’s “Eyes Wide Shut” scene…
DARIUS: My queen… behold your kingdom. (He takes her by the hand and leads her to the center of the altar, inside a Hecate symbol. All the guests, wearing hooded togas and masks, kneel upon her).
DARIUS: At last, the goddess has arrived! (They start chanting in her worship).
BONNIE: (Whispers to Darius) Darling, this is a bit much, don’t you think?
DARIUS: Nothing is too much when it comes to you. Bonnie Sheila Bennett, you are a goddess, you just need to believe it. You can do anything you set your mind to, no restrictions, no consequences. You are the alpha and the omega…
BONNIE: No restrictions... that does sound tempting…
DARIUS: Just let yourself be free, my love, embrace your destiny...
Bonnie, seduced by the feeling of absolute power, lets go of the last hold she has over who she is and embraces her power to the fullest. A huge energy field emerges from her, the biggest one yet...At this precise moment, a new Bonnie is born, a child of fire and desire, a purely instinctual creature with the power to create… and destroy.
youtube
Cut to- freaky bunker. Matt, sitting outside the heavily sealed door, which is now open. He is crying.
MATT: (To himself) What have I done… what have I done…
MILITARY MAN: General…
MATT: Don’t call me that! I’m not a General! I am the Sheriff of Mystic Falls, that is all…I don’t belong here...
MILITARY MAN: I’ll give you some space, Sir. (Walks away, approaches another military man) I think the General has lost his mind…
MILITARY MAN 2: Cut him some slack, he’s under a lot of stress. How would you react if that order had to come from you? That has to break a man...
MILITARY MAN: Do you think we are doing the right thing, here?
MILITARY MAN 2: Not sure if it’s the right thing but it’s the only thing we can do if we want to have a fighting chance.
Cut to – The Salvatore mansion. Stefan, Elena, and Sam are in the living room. The gang walks in. Caroline sees Stefan and runs to hug him.
CAROLINE: Oh, thank god, you are alright! The girls?
STEFAN: They are sleeping, they fine; we are all fine, it’s just a blackout.
CAROLINE: Oh, trust me, it’s much more than that.
ELENA: (To Caroline, looking quite pissed) Uhm, hello?!
CAROLINE: Elena! Oh my god, you are here! I totally forgot to…
ELENA: Oh, I know! Stefan put me up to do date… what the hell, Care!?
CAROLINE: I’m sorry, we thought you didn’t want to be involved in these things anymore. (To Sam) Hey, Sam…
SAM: Hey… (looking quite uncomfortable, given the situation).
ELENA: Where is Bonnie?
CAROLINE: We don’t know, something went wrong…
STEFAN: What happened?
CAROLINE: As soon as the clock stroke midnight, there was this huge light blast, then everyone passed out. When we woke up, Bonnie and Danae were gone.
STEFAN: Where is Damon?
CAROLINE: He went with Klaus and Tyler to look for Matt; we think he might know where Darius is.
STEFAN: (Looking at a catatonic Katherine) And what happened to her?
RADKA: We don’t know either… she won’t snap out it; she is physically fine, but…
CAROLINE: She’ll be okay, she is just in shock. (To Alaric) Let’s go check on the girls…
ALARIC: They are asleep, Care, we don’t want to wake them.
CAROLINE: We won’t; just as kiss so they know we are fine. (They go upstairs).
ELENA: Lexi, glad to see you made it back…
LEXI: (With a bit of disdain; still resentful for how she hurt Stefan) Well it was all thanks to my girl Bonnie… now that’s what I call I real woman.
STEFAN: So, Lex, can you tell us exactly what happened?
LEXI: I’ll try my best…
Cut to – The Mayor’s mansion. Damon, Klaus, and Tyler arrive.
DAMON: How come this is the only place that has electricity?
TYLER: Privileges of the elite…
KLAUS: Please, Lockwood, if that were the case, there be electricity at my house as well. (Tyler rolls his eyes; they ring the doorbell).
ANTHONY: Fashionably late, I see. Invitations, please.
DAMON: One vampire and two hybrids, how is that for an invitation?
ANTHONY: I’m afraid I don’t follow your sense of humor, Sir. So, once again, invitations, please.
KLAUS: What he means is that if you don’t invite us in, we will rip your insides out… how is that for a sense of humor?
ANTHONY: Gentlemen, I don’t want any trouble, but I cannot allow you inside without an invitation.
EDWARD: (Edward comes to the door, sensing something is up) Anthony, what is going on?
ANTHONY: Sir, I…
TYLER: Wow, you really went all out with your costume…
DAMON: (To himself) I freakin hate clowns…
EDWARD: What is the trouble here?
KLAUS: We are looking for Matt Donovan, we were told he might be around…
EDWARD: Well, you have been misinformed, the Sheriff is not here. Granted he was invited, but he declined. Feel free to come inside and see for yourselves.
ANTHONY: Sir…
EDWARD: It’ fine, Anthony. Come in; you are also welcome to indulge if you like.
Cut to back to – the old freaky mansion. Darius and Bonnie inside his illusion realm.
BONNIE: That kiss made me thrust, care to offer this lady a drink?
DARIUS: I would be delighted (holds her hand and takes her to the bar).
DARIUS: (To the bartender) Champagne for the lady.
BARTENDER: Coming right up, Sir.
BONNIE: Actually, I’m bourbon kinda a gal. (Mocking) I thought you knew me better...
DARIUS: Sorry, love, I assumed…
BONNIE: Well, you know what they say about assuming (winks, Darius looks confused). Just teasing, dear. (Gives him a peck on the cheek, then looks around). This is quite the party…
DARIUS: It’s all for you, my love.
BONNIE: You spoil me too much.
DARIUS: Anything for you…
BONNIE: You are making blush…
DARIUS: I love to see you blush.
BONNIE: Careful. I might not be able to control myself.
DARIUS: Neither will I…
(They kiss passionately, find themselves a private spot, and...)
youtube
Cut back to – the Mayor’s mansion. Damon, Tyler, and Klaus are looking for Matt.
TYLER: (Looking at the decadence) Damn, and here I thought I had seen it all… These people are freaking insane…
DAMON: Concentrate, Lockwood! (Getting frustrated) Where the hell is Donovan!?
KLAUS: I think the clown was telling the truth...
EDWARD: (Who has snuck up on them) I told you...
DAMON: (Jumps in a fright) Jesus, holly shit hole!
EDWARD: I take it you don’t like clowns (smirks)? I’m sorry, gentlemen, but he is not here. And, now that I know he wasn’t with you either, I think I just might know where, or rather, who he is with. As much as it hurts that he would betray my trust, I’m almost certain that he is with a man called Darius.
KLAUS: You know Darius?
EDWARD: Unfortunately, I do. Has been the stone in my shoe for quite some time now.
DAMON: Where can we find him?
EDWARD: At a freaky old mansion… thing is, it’s not easy to find.
TYLER: What do you mean?
EDWARD: Well, it seems to appear and disappear; making it quite difficult to track.
DAMON: I’ve seen that trick before, we just need the location; we’ll figure it out from there.
EDWARD: You make it sound so simple. You are aware of who you are dealing with, correct? Darius is the master of illusion, capable of making you believe whatever he wants…
DAMON: (Getting pissed off) Can you tell us the location, or not!?
EDWARD: Temper, temper… Listen, Damon, is it? All I can tell you is that the last time I was able to locate the mansion it was at this address (shows them a location on his phone).
TYLER: That’s impossible; that’s where Matt’s old house is.
EDWARD: Well, that´s uncanny...
DAMON: (To Klaus and Tyler) Let’s go...
EDWARD: If you are thinking that the trick is a cloaking spell, I can assure it’s not. Like I said, Darius is an illusionist, the only way to see through his illusions is to find a loophole; and trust me, that is not an easy thing to do; especially if you don’t have the proper abilities. So, unless one of you is a psychic-witch, it’s pretty much useless.
DAMON: How were you able to find him before?
EDWARD: With a little help from my friends (points to a mystery lady, and a strange man).
KLAUS: (Completely taken with her) She is breathtaking... (stares in intrigue) seems so familiar...
EDWARD: Does she, now?
TYLER: What’s with the freaky glove?
EDWARD: Let’s just say, she has quite a peculiar taste.
DAMON: Can she help us find Darius?
EDWARD: She can, but I must warn you, with her, there is always a price to pay.
DAMON: I really don’t care, as long as she can lead us to Bonnie.
EDWARD: Okay, but don’t say I didn’t warn you. Come with me. (They approach the mystery lady) My dear, I’d like to introduce you to some friends of mine...
LADY: Pleasure to meet your acquaintance, gentleman.
Baby boy
Poly!Dark!Lockwood&lucy x male!reader
I miss these two and just randomly had a thought, so here’s these two baddies again.
Dead dove do not eat! (Idk if I used this right! But please read the warnings)
⚠️Warning: Male receiving, hand jobs, blow jobs, spanking with a belt, chocking, forced mommy & daddy kink, Dark!Anythony and Lucy. Them being really aggressive towards the end. ⚠️
It was aways fun to watch you squirm, I mean really it was their highlight of the day. When they could lean close to you, just by your ear and listen to you talk. When you’d catch them staring at you with that look, darkness and teasing. You hated how they affected you.
You weren’t their boyfriend, they never asked you out or anything but you wanted them both so bad. You’d blush when they’d give you the slightest touches, like hitting shoulders or their hands on your hips. It was like they were a drug, one that you were addicted to.
The couple wanted you back and decided a long time ago that you were theirs. They’d threaten and glare at anyone who came close to you or even looked at you. You, sweet boy, were only theirs. And now they had you in their claws.
You arched your back and whimpered as the hand that wrapped around your hard cock was moving at the speed of light. “Slow-” you whined and you started to squirm on the bed you laid on. There were tears falling from the corner of your eyes as you were overwhelmed by the pleasure you had felt in the passed hour.
“Don’t move, baby boy.” Anthony pushed his hands on both sides of your hips down into the mattress. “You’ve been so good for us already, that pretty little cock can’t handle any more can it?” His voice babying you, like you were pathetic.
“He’s just stressed. I mean he’s never been touched by another,” Lucy looked up at her boyfriend as she continued to stroked her hand, never missing a beat. “But he can take as much as we give him.” She looked back at you. “Right?”
You whined and threw your head back to try and not anger them. It was too much for you to handle, I mean you’ve already came two times already and another one was so close. And you couldn’t tell them you’d already been with another, no that wouldn’t go over well.
“Good boy.” Anthony praises. He leaned down and pressed kiss on your chest, you would whimper when he used his teeth to make marks. You held onto him tightly and tried weakly to push him away but he just smirked and kept going. “Such a weak little thing compared to daddy.”
You open you eyes at the title he gave himself. You wanted to fight it until you feel something warm and wet swallow your cock. “Fuck.” You look down to see Lucy taking your cock into her mouth and start to bobble her head.
Your moans got louder and reach down to her hair. You focus on the feelings as Anthony watched you with admiration, you looked too cute. “Thank, her.” He got close to your ear and kissed the skin. “Say: “Thank you, mommy.” she deserves it.”
Feeling your heart skip a beat and mind flood back, you look at him with a hesitant look. You didn’t want to use those names, it was to dirty for you. And it was embarrassing. So you decided to not say it and close your eyes hoping he wouldn’t care.
How wrong you were.
“I’m sorry!” You scream as his belt hit your already red ass, you were crying now and sobbing on his lap. Lucy was beside you and kept her hand in your hair, she looked sympathetic but she enjoyed watching you be in pain. “Are you?” Groaning in pain as she yanked your hair up and held your head to make you look at her.
Another hit made you jump and nod your head quickly. He was bruising you, the skin blue and purple and he could see a bit of blood come to the surface. You needed it to stop and you knew what you needed to do.
“I’m sorry, mommy!” You cried out.
You made them stop and Lucy looked at you prideful. You waited for another slap but it never came, “And what about me?” He asked from behind you. “Sorry- I’m sorry, it wouldn’t happen again Daddy.” It was adorable to see you back being obedient for them.
“That’s a good boy.” Lockwood hummed. He grabbed your hips and pulled you back onto the bed beside him. His hands wrapped around your throat and squeezed tightly and it hurt. The pressure was getting to you immediately and it was scaring you how they acted.
He keep his grip and looked into your teary eyes as you tried to speak, eyes and lips quivering. Lucy took off her skirt and underwear then hopped on top of your lap, you tried looked at her but were yanked back to him. She lined your cock up to her hole and rubbed it along her folds to tease herself and you.
Gasping as the air got back into your lungs as he let go and pushes you back with force. “Be a good boy for Mommy, and cum in me.” She demanded with a sweet tone as she lowered herself on you. You groaned out at the feeling of her wet, warm pussy.
You wanted to go, to leave, but you knew there was no chance of escaping. You could imagine the bad things they might do you if you tried to get away from them. So you did the smart move to stay and be willing. You did love them both and as long as you were good for them, then you should be safe.
Or so you’d hope.
Creative?
Lucy had made the questionable of joining her boyfriend on the newest case. Since the client she was going to investigate cancled, she decided she’d help out someone else. That someone being her boyfriend, Anthony J. Lockwood. It was a little strange to be dating her own boss, but he didn’t make it a big deal.
Lucy had made decided to get ready for the night ahead of her, leaving Lockwood in the kitchen to overview the information George had gathered for them. He sighed. Investigating a local hotel complaining of furnature moving on it’s own, disembodied voices, shadow people. Overall, it sounded like a normal night to him.
“So Tony...” Kipps got his attention.
“Yes?” He looked up from the paper in front of him.
"You're working Lucy tonight?" He checked.
"Yes." Lockwood raised an eyebrow in confusion. What was he getting at?
"Alone?" Kipps leaned forward a bit.
"Well what if we are?" Lockwood challenged. "What are you trying to say?"
Kipps leaned back, reached into his pocket and pulled out two or three small packages and placed them on the table in front of Lockwood. He peered at the packages before identifying them.
His eyes grew wide and his normally pail face became deep red.
"Truthfully, I don't trust you two alone. I've been meaning to give these to you for a while." Kipps confesed.
Lockwood looked at him appauled and offended. Really? He really didn't trust Lockwood to control himself? Sure, he had found her physically appealing. Her body was perfectly shaped, her skin must've been so soft, and he wouldn't mind listening to her make such inappropriate sounds...
But that didn't mean he couldn't control himself! Before the past few months, he had done but control himself.
He took a deep breath. "Do you honestly think I'd do that to her? I'll have you know, I am a gentleman! And as-"
"Don't give me that shit Tony. I see the way you watch her." Kipps stated lowly, forcing Lockwood to shut up and listen. Something about the dangerous look in his eyes told him that he needed to stay in line.
"I am not saying that you're that immature. What I am saying is that as much as you don't want it to be true, you both are still kids. And with being kids, you make dumb decisions. Thats how it is with all teens. And it's certainly not my place to know what you and her do when you two are alone together. But for God's sake, if you're going to do something like that, I want you to be safe about it. You know what the alternative is if I don't tell you." Kipps stated.
"We're not going to do that." Lockwood stated.
"Well at least take them with you. It'll give me some peace of mind." Kipps bargained.
Lockwood glared at him, shook his head and stood up to get ready. Kipps watched him go and sighed. He picked up the packets and walked over to the coat hanger. He looked around and stuffed the packets into Lockwood's coat pocket. Better safe than sorry.
-
Lucy sighed, finally finishing unpacking her supplies for the night. Lockwood looked at her. His thoughts weren't to controlled as he identified all of the tiny details about her that drove him nuts. He smiled to himself, drifting off into his thoughts about her. She turned, feeling eyes on her. Standing up she asked "Can I help you?"
He snapped out of his thoughts and shook his head.
"No. Just lost in thought." He smiled at her sweetly. He made sure he had a smile reserved just for her.
"About what?" She questioned.
"Well, you know-" he shoved his hands in his pockets and felt something that shouldn't have been there. His smile dropped and his face pailed.
"Lockwood? Are you okay?" Lucy rushed over to him.
He recovered from his initial shock and stuffed his hands deeper into his pocket.
"It's nothing. It's just... I don't remember putting that in my coat pocket..." He was going to kill Kipps when he saw him again.
"What is it?" Lucy asked.
"It's nothing, Love. Don't worry about it." He smiled walking over to his things.
Lucy knew her boyfriend. He was hiding something from her.
"I wouldn't go looking for whatever's in his pocket if I were you." The Skull piped up. "You might start something... Eventful."
Lucy didn't care what the skull said, she was curious and concerned. What did Lockwood deem strange enough to not tell her?
Cautiously, she snuck up behind him. He looked around, unaware of her creeping up behind him. He was probably survaying the area. She suddenly stuck her hands in his pockets. They had a small struggle of getting caught in each other. When the finally fell to the ground, Lockwood looked up in horror at what Lucy had in her hand.
"Ha! You think you can hide things from me! Well-" She stopped herself when she looked at what she was holding.
A condom.
Lockwood began making incohearant sentances, trying to explain himself.
"Lucy, I swear I didn't- It's not what it seems!" He babbles. Lucy simply looked at what she pulled out of his pocket in shock. When she received from her initial shock, she looked at him. His face was red and he was frantically trying to make excuses for himself. She laughed on the inside. She knew he'd never do this. But it would be so funny to see him razzled up like this.
"I appreciate your creativity, but if you really wanted to do it with me, you could've asked." Lucy teased. She felt her cheeks heat up.
"No, no! I mean- I would like- I mean-"
She crawled over to him and gently shoved the condom back into his pocket.
"Well, if you do want to, we should probably not do it at work." She softly stated. "If you're still in the mood when we get home..."
She placed a quick kiss on his lips, then stood and walked over to her things. Lockwood looked at her in shock.
Not entirely in shock, however. There was that hint if infatuation. And a slight uncomfortableness in a certain area.
Maybe it was a good idea Kipps put those in his pocket after all.
