Dragon Age Femslash Recs
Happy February 2nd! For Femslash February, some fanfic recommendations! Asteriks by particular favs (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
Comfort by RipplesOfAqua - Josephine/Vivienne - In tired moments, they find comfort from one another.
Counting by klickitats - Josephine/Leliana - Leliana and Josephine meet for the first time, despite Leliana's best efforts to the contrary.
duet for two Hands in six baths by thereinafter -  Cassandra/Leliana - Six different times Leliana and Cassandra ended up in a bathing-type situation together.
* To Feel, Still Seeing by hornkerling - Josephine/Vivienne -  “Were you aware-? ...Oh, I don’t know if I should tell you.” Josephine taps her pen against the top of the desk a couple of thoughtful times and looks at Vivienne, eyes filled with giggly mirth. “At my finishing school in Val Royeaux, the girls had a habit of choosing prominent persons who figured in the societé as idols. To… dream about. Entertain girly fantasies. You, Madame, were one of them.”
A First Encounter by amarmeme - f!Hawke/Cassandra - Hawke knows little about the woman who's after her, beyond what Varric tells her. Cassandra knows a lot about the Champion, but is any of it real?
Late, Late Nights and Early Starts by hibernate - f!Cadash/Cassandra, Leliana/Vivienne -  Sleep is for those with less to do.
A Most Edible Thistle by @chocochipbiscuit - Josephine/Vivienne - Artichokes, assassins, and the schoolgirl crush that Josephine never outgrew.
Nevarran Steel by bioticbootyshaker - Cassandra/Vivienne - Endangering her life needlessly, Cassandra realizes that the vow she made to Vivienne -- to be her Chevalier and to serve her -- is more than just some silly promise.
No Home For You Here by withpractice - f!Hawke/Merrill - Nothing could have possibly prepared her for what came next.
* The Other Side of Terror by superfluouskeys - f!Hawke/Cassandra -  Hawke would just like everyone to know that she has shown remarkable restraint.  Did she fall in love at first sight with the angry muscly templar lady?  Maybe!  But has she so much as gone near her, so much as glanced in her terrifyingly beautiful direction since her arrival at Skyhold?
A Piece of Sunset by madamebadger - Josephine/Leliana - "Flatterer." But there was a curl of enjoyment in Josie's voice, so Leliana persisted.
* pretend this isn’t bleeding by ghost_teeth - f!Trevelyan/Vivienne -  For the first time in perhaps ten years, Vivienne considers withdrawing from a party for a breath of fresh air.
pride, and the hurt the followed it by Anonymous - f!Hawke/Merrill - While trying to save Feynriel from his own nightmares, Merrill falls victim to the persuasive words of a pride demon, and turns on Hawke in the Fade. When she wakes up and realises what she's done, she hides away, certain that Hawke will want nothing to do with her. But Hawke is nothing if not surprising.
* The Rain it Raineth Every Day by Glaukobiblion - f!Hawke/Merrill -  The summer before Hawke goes to college, Leandra hires a new gardener.  Pining, parties, and poor decisions ensue.
The Spice of Life by Anthologyofwhat - f!Hawke/Merrill - The tale of Merrill's illicit search for inappropriate uses of magic. No sex, just talking.
Small Comforts by thereinafter - Leliana knows when Cassandra has a frustrating day, and vice versa.
This Dangerous Game We Play by kaijuburgers - f!Aeducan/Anora - After Trian's death, Sereda knows it's only a matter of time before she too is returned to the Stone. When she's given an easy out, she takes it.
* Unconquered by ChocoChipBiscuit - Svarah Sun-hair/Vivienne - “Madame Vivienne, I thought—if you were Avvar, a respected warrior of another Hold who bested me in combat, it would have been simple. I would have asked if you wanted company in the bedroll and we would have had it out, one way or another. But by the Lady…” Svarah’s voice trailed, rueful. “You lowlanders distract and divert like fish in a stream.”

Hey guess what
This blog is not active, but I did rescue it so that the URL wouldn’t change to -blog-blog-bloggity-blog-blog or something.

...Oh, wait. I have a completed chapter of The Golem of Denerim here that I never posted.
Should I post it, or wait until I finish the last (hopefully) chapter and put the whole thing on AO3 as one unit? I didn't think of this when I moved blogs. All the rest of it is on anthologyofwhat.

anthologyofwhat reblogged your post and added:
FALLEN LONDON
Also, I need that depression game.
*looks up Fallen London*
*looks at the registration page*
May we ask whether you're a lady or a gentleman?
A lady
A gentleman
My dear sir, there are individuals roaming the streets of Fallen London at this very moment with the faces of squid! Squid! Do you ask them their gender? And yet you waste our time asking me trifling and impertinent questions about mine? It is my own business, sir, and I bid you good day.
oh.

short-purple-boots reblogged your post: Rowan Jr.
I recently did a playthrough as a Dalish elf who hated all humans and she killed Connor (and punched Isolde in the...
Cool! I didn't even realize Isolde dies. That's kind of a tragic scenario all the way around, isn't it? Thanks for the info! :)

...Oops?
...I forgot to do this last night, when it would have been appropriate.
Basically I got sick of nerdycookies being my primary blog and all the little annoyances that it caused, so I created a new blog at leahazel, which also matches most of my other usernames on other sites. I also created a new email address just for fannish things.
Come join me on the dark side. We have cookies.

Hi.
You may have noticed, I'm gradually migrating to a new Tumblr account. I'm not going to delete anything from the other account, unless I someday decide to make anthologyofwhat secondary to this blog, for fic purposes. That doesn't seem terribly likely, though, because AOW is packed with years of reblogged posts that I don't want to lose, and I'm sure as hell not gonna reblog every single one of them to here.
For perfect disambiguation: I am lea_hazel on Dreamwidth and AO3, anthologyofwhat on Twitter, and previously nerdycookies on Tumblr.

Announcement
Listen y'all, I'm headed into turbo crunch time academically. I have a test next week that, if I fail it, I will not get my degree. Consequently I'm installing a productivity extension on my browser and blocking almost every site I visit for most hours of the day. That means no more spending an hour and a half each morning catching up on last night's dashboard.
I'll be on evenings but not for as long as usual. If there's something you'd like me to see go ahead and tag it #anthologyofwhat, or even send me a link. There's just no way I can keep up with my dash in the next week and still pass this test. If I even start to try, my bad!brain takes over and I scroll endlessly and can't bring myself to stop. I will check my reblogs and replies but that is it.

Note
I didn't post anything too fascinating this week, except yesterday I posted a bunch of DA2 screencaps.
asdfjklgh
Ivy Hawke and Merrill.
Poor Merrill, so sad.  (And it’s so hard to find really nice Merrill things.  I mean, people make stupid snide comments about Sebastian all the time, which annoys me, but so many people just ignore Merrill completely … oh cute little elf blood mage, what? I’m going to go play with the boys or the pirate some more … and she’s so spectacular.
She didn’t even get any really good banter when I played the DLCs with her and Tisala.  *sighs*
/I should remake Tisala and get Merrill/Tisala screenshots some day.  Because Merrill.  And hey, there aren’t a lot of scary borderline red/aggressive Hawkes out there.

I was so glad to open the grayed-out image and see what was there.
THE TICK IS THE BEST.
I make Ninja Hedge jokes sometimes, and no one ever gets them.  *sighs* I also lost all my Tick comics in the bedbug purge.  ;_;  Need new ones.
anthologyofwhat reblogged your photoset: Owen/Puck Appreciation Post
THAT SHOW.
GARGOYLES WAS THE BEST, YES.
I hate that Disney almost never releases decent box sets of their tv shows.  Except for DuckTales, oddly enough.  I can still sing the theme song to that one.  *laughs*

Merrill/Isabela for anthologyofwhat
She knew Isabela had thought her innocent, at first.  Dalish did tend to assume relations meant intimacy, and discouraged casual sex amongst the unmarried young adults.
But she had been First. She was never going to marry, never going to tie one person's life to hers as more important than the rest of the clan.  She had a different path to walk.
Unfortunately, while not as innocent as Isabela thought, she was certainly ignorant of exactly how one should go about convincing a shem, even a warm and lovely and giving one like Isabela, that she wished quite strongly to see her naked.
She wasn't quite sure what body shots were, but she had a feeling they might help ease that conversation along.

Cinderella
nerdycookies asked you:
Okay, I went there. #FF, Mourn Me, Cinders/Carmosa, any ending but especially Independent Woman.
once upon a time her mother dead her father lost
she was so very tired
surrounded by family living in the same rooms answering to their new name
only in the mirror would she see familiar eyes, recognize the same soft brown hair
never a kind touch never love's embrace cold desperation instead shattered rage and shadowed eyes
she can bend no longer
she refuses to break
she fights
she takes
her heart stutters, unexpected sympathy unlikely aid
was she wrong, all this time?
she has no time for right, or wrong, only strength
only freedom
she wins
or does she?
they're still not family
but perhaps not enemies
friends? almost sisters a nice conceit until they escape as well
and she is alone
only she is not alone
she never was alone
a spine of steel a will of iron soft darkness hidden behind sharp words
never a mother so many mistakes but now
when it is all almost over they find each other
so much the same
and when the elder woman takes her last breath her heart is not alone even now her house is empty
she bows her head not for the mother she never had
but the lover she cannot mourn not where other's eyes can see
she will know she will remember the touch of slim fingers the rough whisper in the dark white hair spread across pale sheets
understanding hard won harder lost
nothing will ever be the same

anthologyofwhat reblogged your photo: skittythegreat: that’s a good fucking point ...
BECAUSE VAMPIRES AREN’T REAL. ALTERNATIVELY, BECAUSE THE INTENSITY OF ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION IS TOO LOW ESPECIALLY WHEN...
I am ignoring the first part of this comment. (Piddle. OF COURSE VAMPIRES ARE REAL, BECAUSE IF THEY AREN'T I MIGHT THINK ALL THOSE KINDS OF STORIES ARE FALSE, WHICH MIGHT MEAN NO DRAGONS AND I DON'T WANT TO LIVE IN A WORLD WITH NO DRAGONS).
But I think your argument about the intensity of UV radiation is spot on. I was thinking the same thing myself, and just never got around to making a comment to that effect. Makes sense for werewolves (and for vampires, in terms of their lessening of powers in direct sunlight). ;)

anthologyofwhat reblogged your photoset: merilsell: thoseadorkablethings: The episode...
GROSS FANGIRL SOBBING.
Yes. The grossest possible fangirl sobbing. I doubt I will ever stop being haunted by those few episodes. And THAT probably more than any other thing, is why Buffy really is my favorite television show of all time.
