To offer a counter argument, you are also applying normal human morals and perspectives onto a society that has very different view points. Not saying you aren’t justified in this argument. It’s a fair argument. They did something wrong, over an issue so minor. But it’s also important to look at another lenses
This is a wizard society. They don’t have ‘muggle’ morals if you will. They can casually cast spells that can end lives in a blink. They can cast hexes that can hurt for years to come. Wizard society is shown to be extremely violent. So what is deemed evil and cruel by our moral code, is seen as another Tuesday for them. They grow up in a society that is very violent, and unlike our own. Such as being casually taught potions to kill and hurt people for extra credit. Or being taught how to take care of dragons. It’s a violent, dangerous, very grey, society
Just a perspective I wanted to throw into the ring. Saw this cross my dashboard, and figured I would give my two cents on the matter. It’s hard to judge them with our morals when they live in a society that isn’t the same as our own. Especially since their moral code allows very dangerous, violent, and lethal things as casual mannerisms

Friendly reminder that Fred and George literally tried to murder another student for trying to take House points from them
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like I know we apparently don't give a damn about NPCs in Harry Potter, but it's insane to me how no one acknowledges how fucking vile the Weasley twins were
(unrelated but it's also very funny how self-righteous Fred and George acted over Percy being a "git" and how they were convinced of their own moral superiority because they were on the good side, when I'm convinced Percy would never have done something so horrible)
Same goes for Harry and Ron mind you. The level of apathy and cruelty they demonstrate is CRAZY like they legit do not give a fuck. And yeah, I wasn't much better than them as a teenager when it came to people I didn't like, but surely that is something that should be addressed by the narrative?? By anyone? Hermione gets like 0,5 brownie point for suggesting that maybe they should tell someone (YES??) but considering she does jackshit about it that doesn't exactly endear her to me
Despite how many times Slytherin is said to be the evil house while Rowling glorifies the Gryffindor House (and she absolutely does, there are many examples in the books), the murder attempts between the two houses have been pretty one-sided (Fred&George to Montague and Sirius to Snape, not to mention the Weasley twins and Sirius were both 100% unapologetic.
Edit: yes, I was intentionally and graciously omitting Harry's attempt towards Draco in HP6 because even though using an unknown spell was unbelievably stupid, Harry had no idea Sectumsempra would do that and he felt awful about it + Draco did try to Crucio him. I'm watching you, though, Harry. You got over it a lil' too quickly when Ginny defended you.)
Well, Crabbe did try to kill the trio in HP7 , though 1) it was in the context of the war, they weren't exactly students anymore, but most importantly 2) the event is treated with the appropriate amount of horror for the situation
I think it's really fucked up that no one seems to find it a problem or even remember it but hey that's just me!

Charles‘ jealousy of Monty is so interesting, especially when viewed through a platonic lens. Charles love of Edwin isn‘t romantic, but they are very much each other‘s persons, their best friends, never to be separated. (I mean Charles literally gave up his afterlife for this friendship).
And seeing that someone enter or inch close to another important relationship (especially romantic relationships which are sadly commonly valued as more important) produces such a fear (whether sensible or not) that one is going to lose that person, that important relationship.
Obviously Charles would never have said anything, bc Edwin was happy and willing to try new things for Monty and interacts with things he thought to be humbug (astronomy) (Growth which normally Edwin also just experienced bc of or with Charles), but it must‘ve been so scary and his jealousy is sooo understandable.

One of the takes I've seen about Sphene is that her kindness is just a front and an act for her being evil - well she does attempt to kill a lot of people, but that kind personality is still not a lie, she is super good-hearted through and through and also capable of incredible ruthlessness if she believes it's for the good of her people, those things are not mutually exclusive. Would someone who secretly had a nasty personality and was only faking nice delete her own conscience and kind memories to make sure they wouldn't get in the way of her goal?
I wonder if some of the difficulties in fan interpretations come from her gender, being a female antagonist carries it's whole set of issues different from male antagonists. Yotsuyu's story, the story of a vengeful, unrepentant female villain, was not handled very well; while Meteion and Sphene, who are portrayed as emotional, tragic villains, still get some vitriolic hate.
Let's not forget that even though their personalities and everything else are completely different, Sphene is a sort of Emet-Selch "lite", with similar motivations of destroying other worlds to bring back her dead. If you like Emet but won't give Sphene the time of day, think about why - is it because her personality is more simple than his, or have you written her off as shallow because she's a woman in a frilly dress?

This scene of Till innocently peaceful with such a big smile feels incomplete to me after the events of round 7--But more true to his character rather than a comic with his final thoughts like Sua and Ivan had, it's cruel, brief, like a flashback, and it's bittersweet. Till is probably going to be reserved and ambiguous till the end. He wouldn't be able to bring himself to think about and reflect on his regrets and traumas; that's Till's principle; living in stubborn, childish beliefs, and in those truths, he finds escape into solace, even if it's unlike his reality, it's how he copes enough to make everything bearable for the next day to come. This image feels like a reflection, a memory of when he was happier in life. In Till's final moments, he thought about his and Mizi's childhood, the moment he fell in love with her was when she smiled at him with such radiance, the same moment, he felt like his heart was reborn; it was like he could breathe and smile solely for her. Till thinks back to these moments, these fleeting moments of peace because he can't let them go, he can't let go of the comfort of that familiarity.
--"Oh in a blink Gone. Blink and Gone, relish the present."
This image does bring me back to a lot of lyrics in Round 7. But this one in particular, a line that talks about living in the present before the moment slips between your fingers, in a blink, gone. But Till lives in the past.
Till doesn't think back to round 1 when he killed that alien guitar for Mizi, even though it was fully his decision, even though it was so gratifying seeing "Till win" and Mizi's acknowledgment, do you think he would have done that if he wasn't desperate and just doing what he felt like he had to do to survive? Because he had to stay by Mizi's side in her darkest moment like she was the one beacon of hope and happiness for him?
Till only suffers when he thinks back to round 6. When he's reminded of regret and pain. So, he represses the very memory of it to protect himself, he can't bring himself to even acknowledge it at all until he's forced to, when the aliens were intimidating him with Mizi's missing poster, he fights back out of anger. Just having that weakness, his guilt, and his grief used against him feels like a different kind of collar. Till thinks back to these warm, intangible memories of his childhood because life on stage was never something he could make his own, he didn't want to live for anything Alien Stage offered him, power, fame, etc. Despite his passion for music, Till is gentle and emotional at heart. This throne that is elevated high by bloodied corpses, a life living stagnant and trapped under the suffocating palm of an Alien, at the very top but inexplicably expendable, was never Till's vision of a life worth living. That's why he fought like hell for the life he wanted, for the life that he could've had. It really drives the point home when his final thoughts were centered around those moments when he was the happiest in his life.
It is so hard to feel the beauty, the warmth, in this image when everything around him is inauthentic, and it's off-putting because of the underlying details, especially since because of his gown, this scene might have taken place after one of those experiments or 'classes' it's a very subtle reminder of their reality. But his smile is so real in the moment without the collar, without the pain... he looks so carefree and full of life
And he scrunches his nose when he laughs *gets shot*

Enid: Guys, I just found out that Bianca is bilingual! Isn’t that so cool?
Wednesday, resident multilingualist: Is that so, Barclay?
Bianca, enjoying all of the attention: Yeah, it’s no big deal
Enid: What do you mean ‘no big deal’? Of course it is-
Bianca: Alright, alright, you can stop it with the flattery
Enid: -It means you like both guys and girls! And I, for one, totally support you!
Bianca:
Wednesday:
Yoko:
Divina:
Eugene:
Kent:
Xavier:
Ajax:
Weems’ ghost:
Literally just all of Nevermore:
Enid: What :DDD?
✨Bonus fer the gays✨
Yoko, pulling away from Divina’s arms and whispering: Now, I can’t say I can judge your choices without being a hypocrite
Divina: HEY!
Yoko: But are you sure you want that one, Addams?
Wednesday, sighing dreamily as Enid preens with her chest proudly puffed and completely oblivious to what just happened: Unfortunately.

omg is "vegan" wool & leather often made of plastic???? i've never heard this, can anyone tell me if it is made of oil?????? is it (and only it!) made of plasoiltikblasticfossilossilpetroil?????????????? damn such a shame that vegans and their desire for animal material alternatives single-handedly invented the demand for fossil fuels, better pack it all in fellow vegan/vegan adjacent folks 😔

here's your obligatory reminder that your journey to recovery is your own. what might be harmful for someone else could be something that pulls you through the day. everyone goes at a different pace and it's nobody's business to tell you that something that works for you is wrong. especially if it doesn't harm anyone else. keep on rocking

Idk if this is me being soft or anything but I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one who finds the Izuku McDonald’s joke/him loosing his arms not funny.
It’s just really morbid and not in a good way.
I know Hori wouldn’t go that route because he’s not that bad at writing but the fandom is just so weird with Izuku.
Hi @palesweetscherryblossom 👋
yeah honestly I hate any gag that the fandom makes about izuku just because they aren't funny. This goes from the hospital bed x Izuku crack ship or the ongoing McDonald's jokes or the Izuku losing his arms jokes that included him twining with overhaul and miriko. Heck I even hate the jokes about izukus new haircut. Hell I even despise the little suicide baiting jokes that the fandom makes. They all feel like dark dry slap on the face humour.
Honestly it's bewildering how the fandom managed to turn all of izukus pain or hardships into little memes that become old so quickly.
Iam not sure whether I hate horikoshi for taking away Izuku's arms and giving us that horrible manga page or if I hate it more for him backing down from his decision and magically restoring them (almost realising he made a mistake).
I guess izuku is serving his role that hori created for him: a gag character within canon and fandom.

bitches will come to definite and so incredibly biased judgements of the five sinners when we have zero sizable (or even completely reliable) context of khaneri’ah culture, government, and their personal lives (along with the typical morals & ethics to go along with it.) lolol the way spn standom treats this canon it supposedly loves so much is a crisis every single day and I know the show is over so people think it’s not supposed to matter the way it once did but it matters. I’m not going to just sit here while that source text gets mangled in an endless loop by most of what’s left of spn “fandom.” It is not only record breaking as the longest running genre tv series on US broadcast history (or streaming too), it’s among the greatest genre series in US tv history. Flaws and all. It is. I am just going to say it. It deserves better than to be relegated to the chronic ~edgy hot take that it’s the worst show ever and people shouldn’t like it. GTFO if you hate it so much.
* the “everything about this sucks after S3 mentality” or “everything about this sucks since Kripke left” needs to get thrown into a hole. These aren’t spn fans. They were once upon a time probably but no longer are and they need to leave.
* the parasocialized lenses warping the canon takes, where people have latched onto any of J2M to the point where they’ve allowed it to govern how they perceive the entire show and characters instead of seeing the story as a story and the characters as they actually are in canon and where they literally think spn sprang fully formed out of J2M’s brains and writers don’t exist. My kingdom for some media literacy.
* narrow-minded warped lenses that keep thumping on like evangelists about how the show is only about the brothers and the entire rich narrative gets flushed down the toilet by these so-called bestest truest stans ever. They do not pay attention to this canon, they do not appreciate this canon, they’re fixated on a broship, and that’s the extent of their ability to comprehend the actual source text of a show they are supposedly such huge fans of. Also years of marketing is also guilty on this. Guilty!! J’accuse, marketing. Marketing is a simplistic packaged gloss and does not reflect the richness within. Some of the marketing reflects more of that richness, but mostly the standard branding line “about two brothers” gets slapped on it and reality is a whole lot more to it. People don’t really use critical thinking or media literacy to understand that’s just the backbone construct of it and not a reflection of all the actual flesh.
