Murderbot is so relatable. I, too, would rather get eaten by a giant space monster than interact with humans
#and also watch space netflix all day instead of doing my job#anyway to no one's surprise here's another robot to add to the blorbo collection#murderbot

Anyway, look at my new bratty son

HOLLY U WILL GET ADVENTURIN!! I Believe in u
(Off topic: I’m so glad hoyo is showing more of their characters backstories from when they were younger and not just how they ended up the way they did)
thank you!! i told my friend that if you add aventurine’s crazy good luck to mine, it’ll average it out and he hits me with the “average is better than whatever the fuck you have going on rn i think” (he wouldn’t even let me pull on his genshin account, i don’t get why)
backstories in general are very vital to making good characters, so they’d be dumb to not make and share any engaging ones ^^;
#┊✩彡 divine correspondence ♡#┊✩彡 unsigned letter ♡#between barbatos aventurine and mammon i’m just collecting blorbo’s that’ll improve my (gacha) luck#it’s not helping though#on the topic of backstories#characters interacting with one another is also always fun#like fire emblem’s support chats or twst’s book 6

Back on my bs with another Zosan brainworm…. post Skypiea feels
—
Sanji, after having his “I needed a light” moment and getting shocked head-on by Enel, gains big lichtenberg scars that never fade. They’re darker than his usual skin tone, spiraling down the back of his neck, the entire expanse of his back, then curling around his shoulders and hips.
he hates them. Sanji thinks they make him look diseased, or like Frankenstein, sort of.. He doesn’t think scars are bad or ugly, no. It’s just the way they look on him.
He goes to so many lengths to hide them from the rest of the crew; he takes showers after everyone else is asleep, and his short-sleeved shirts get pushed to the back of the closet.
Chopper’s the only one who’s seen them. well, until Zoro. Somewhere in between when they didn’t like each other and when they suddenly did, the swordsman catches Sanji late at night in the bathroom, shirtless and twisting around himself to look at his back in the mirror.
Somehow, they end up on the floor, Sanji sitting cross-legged on the tile, hunched over with red tipped ears as Zoro sits behind him, taking his time tracing the patterns over Sanji’s skin.
“Do they hurt?” Zoro asks, grazing a calloused thumb over the back of Sanji’s neck.
“Sometimes. they sting when it gets cold.”
Zoro doesn’t say anything for a long time. Sanji feels like a bug under a microscope, just sitting there, being inspected like this. He finds himself zoning out— he doesn’t want to be here right now. This is embarassing.
“I like them.”
“Huh?”
And then Zoro’s hands are smoothing over Sanji’s shoulders, warm and careful like he’s handling a blade. “What, you don’t? It looks badass.”
no, they really don’t. “No. It looks…stupid.” Ugly, is what Sanji wants to say, but he doesn’t. The word suddenly seems a little too crass for whatever’s going on right now.
“Do mine, then?” Zoro counters, and that’s different. Zoro wears his like a collection, each mark a record of battles he’s won and lost and a testament to the shit he’s survived. Sanji hasn’t ever been blemished like that, barring the faint lines on the bridge of his nose still barely visible after eleven years. The scars just look out of place on him. Like they aren’t supposed to be there.
“No, no.” Sanji shakes his head. “Yours are— are badass.”
Zoro pauses again. “They look like vines.”
“Oh, so i’m sprouting greenery like you, now?”
That gets an exasperated huff out of Zoro, and Sanji can feel breath fanning over the back of his neck. “Stop, ‘m serious.”
It’s frightening, kind of, being laid bare under the watchful eye of someone else like this. Sanji can’t even see Zoro (well, besides his hands), but it’s almost like he can— the weight of his gaze falls heavy on Sanji’s back.
“Of course you are.”
A chill slides up Sanji’s spine when Zoro’s hands slide down to his waist, thumbing at the spots where the scars encroach onto his stomach. “ ‘s Pretty.”
Sanji’s throat suddenly feels dry, because the admission of pretty feels less like a descriptor of the lightning bolts spiraling down his back and more about him. “Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“Never thought I’d hear you call something ‘pretty,’ you brute.”
“Maybe you needed to.”
Maybe you needed to. Fuck, Maybe Sanji did.

How did you find your personal style?
I'm going to start off with a challenge to finding my personal style:
I have a bad habit of buying clothing when I am dysphoric. This is something I've only recently been able to get a handle on.
When I am dysphoric, I tend to buy clothing that looks good on the model and roughly fits my mood at the time. I don't think about how well it will fit on me. I don't think about if I can build an outfit or when I would wear it. I don't think about if I have a similar piece already. I forget to read fabric content labels. I just buy the clothing because I am a hoarder and it's a lifelong battle to curb your addiction here.
I am getting better, much more aware of when I do this, and regularly purge my wardrobe of the pieces that inevitably don't fit, either my body, style, or opportunities to wear.
So, about *finding* your style -- clothes aren't just aesthetic. They communicate something about you. Some of that comes from the history of the clothing style, and some comes from how and when you choose to wear the clothing.
With my vintage look, I am trying to communicate "cozy nerd who is at home in a museum or on a farm, a bit eccentric, a bit of a peacock, but ultimately kind". A lot of my blorbos throughout life dress like this and I am absolutely using my fashion as a shortcut to broadcast a brand of masculinity I feel comfortable in.
My modern style is a bit more colorful, but I am trying to present similarly -- "guy who likes to stand out a little, but is also approachable".
The way I've gotten here is to collect images of people who have good style vibes to me. They could be blorbos, random folks from sites like The Sartorialist, from clothing ads, etc.
The first thing I try to do is articulate why I like something. The color? Texture? Something about how it is cut? If it's just the vibes, what kind of vibe do I think is here? Cozy? Sexy? Intellectual? Adventurous? Something else?
Then, I learn about the clothing from experts and communities that are hard-core for it, and think about what I would mix up to better appease my own eye/personality.
I absolutely have some clashing styles, and that is ok. Over time, you can notice common themes across your different styles.
Every outfit doesn't have to be in the same style, but I would suggest every piece of clothing you have do belong to an outfit. So, when working on your style, remember to ask yourself:
What did I think about when I bought this garment? What was my mood at the time and what do I want my mood to be when I wear this?
Will this fit me and not make me feel bad about my body?
Do I have a complete outfit for this garment? How many outfits could it go with?
Where and when will I wear this? How often?
Do I need to alter it in any way before I start wearing it?
I hope that helps. Working on your style is really just another way to sort out who you are and what you want to tell the world about yourself.

there's something comical about Heritageposts' "blocklist" of Jewish blogs (on which my blog is listed), which consists entirely of Jews, plus some people who have been vocal allies to the Jewish community on Tumblr. (i love you all!)
Heritageposts is a known antisemite (i blocked them months ago for their explicit Jew-hatred), and they have clearly been collecting the names of Jews who have been speaking up about the tidal wave of Jew-hatred that we've been receiving from antisemites.
any Jew, and any non-Jewish ally, who speaks out loudly enough about antisemitism, Heritageposts adds to their list.
and ... i think this little piss-ant actually believes that a blocklist is going to intimidate a group of Jews into silence!!
honey. please.
we have been dealing with Jew-hatred for over 2000 years. our relatives went through the Holocaust within living memory. we've been slaughtered by the millions and shoved into mass graves.
we have been murdered by Nazis, by Communists, and by everyone in between.
we have just been through another recent pogrom by a group of fucking terrorists (Hamas is not your blorbo, kids!), and we are more united than ever.
we've been through this before, and by much worse than you.
and we are still here. and we are still proudly Jewish. we love being Jews, and we love our Jewish community.
and long after you are gone, when no one even remembers that you existed at all, we will still be here.
we will outlive you.
#jew-hatred makes you stupid#we will outlive them#jumblr#jewblr#judaism#goyim do better challenge#NOTE: i report and block antisemites. if any antisemites comment on this post you will be reported and blocked. you have been warned.

the kind that makes you proud
'one look and they'll know' collection masterlist See my full list of works here!
Placement: a few years after 'how you light up'
Summary: It finally happened. You called Tom the "D" word.
Pairing: Tom Hiddleston x Reader
Word Count: 1.2k
Warning/s: language (but in a funny way)…and then nothing after that, this is mostly fluff [let me know if i missed anything!]
Things to be aware of: new and final era unlocked; cute married blorbos hours
In a beautiful, lavish estate built in the heart of a forest just outside the city proper of London, a little girl ran around the vast living room of her home, chasing around a brown Spaniel dog, going as fast as her little legs could take her.
Eloise, "Lulu" to her family, was still struggling to form words "properly", seeing as her mom and dad said things very differently. And as such, now as she tried to form the word "here", her mouth landed somewhere in the middle of her parents' voices and said another word entirely.
"Heeya! Heeya!" she said, walking after the dog. She didn't see her father watching the exchange with an amused smile on his face, seeing the perfect mix of him and his wife in the little girl.
Barely over a year old and already wobbling around the house with a determination in her eyes that eerily replicated her mother's.
The brown Spaniel walked away from her again after hearing her "Heeya" draw closer, and Lulu let out a huff, a pout on her adorable little face that quickly faded when she looked up and saw her father on the steps. "Dada!" she said excitedly, throwing her hands up in the air in his direction.
He was just about to make his way down the rest of the stairs and lift her into his arms when their dog walked past her again and she was back to chasing after him. Her tiny hand just barely brushed at his tail, and once again the little girl formed words. Only this time in a voice that she'd clearly pulled from her mother.
Words that left her father stunned silent on the stairs.
"Aww fucking dammit".
"This doesn't look right…" you muttered, looking through the various reference photos you'd pulled so that you could sketch out the suits that your husband would be wearing in his next project. Maybe you'd been staring at the pictures for too long, maybe you needed to rest your eyes for a second. Or maybe there was really something just unspeakably lameabout the type of character you had to craft for this series.
The task itself even sounded impossible on paper. To make a character played by Tom look "frumpy". The man was incapable of it, and you were sure that even your best attempts would fall flat.
"Fucking dammit." You rolled your putty eraser furiously across the paper, the fine lines of the collar design now disappearing from the paper. "How in the flying fuck am I supposed to--"
"You sound like you need a break, sweetheart."
Your shoulders relaxed at the sound of Tom's voice at the door to your work studio, a smile stretching across your face as your gaze met his. Leaning against the frame of the open door with such a relaxed stance, an amused smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.
"Break…distraction…" you trailed off, setting your sketchpad down and stretching your arms. He took that as a cue to cross the distance between you in three long strides, taking hold of your outstretched hands and pulling you into a warm embrace. You let out a contented sigh as his arms snaked around your back and he pressed a kiss to the top of your head.
"A nap," he told you, picking you up effortlessly by the backs of your thighs and carrying you out and away from your workspace. "You haven't been sleeping enough lately."
"Sweetie, we both haven't been getting enough sleep," you shot back. "Ever since Lulu was born." Your bottom lip jutted in a pout as you looked closely at his unfairly perfect face, barely even a line out of place from under his eyes. "It's just that it shows less on some faces compared to others."
"Speaking of our darling daughter…it looks like she's learned some new words."
"Oh?"
"From you, goddess."
The sides of your mouth drooped downward in a grimace; you had a pretty good idea where this was going. "Which ones?"
He sat you down on the chaise lounge near the stairs and gave you a signal to wait and listen. "She's playing with Bobby, you'll hear it soon enough."
Your heart warmed at the sound of her excited laughter drifting into the area downstairs. But not even a few moments later your eyes bugged out so hard they nearly popped out your head when you found out exactly what words your daughter had learned from you.
"Aww dammit," her little voice filled the room. "Aww fucking dammit."
You clapped your hands over your mouth to muffle the gasp and chortle that wanted to come out of you. "Good God I've made a tiny menace." You took a breath before you stood up and made your way downstairs, hand in hand with Tom, all thoughts of breaks and naps flying out the window.
Lulu stopped her waddling toward Bobby once her wide eyes saw you both at the end of the stairs, her face lighting up in a mostly toothless grin. "Mumma! Dada!"
You still struggled on finding what the right approach would be towards your daughter's newfound vocabulary as she slowly made her way to you and Tom. He picked her up as soon as she got close enough, happily giggling and kicking her little feet as soon as she was airborne in her father's arms.
"Oh sweet baby girl," you cooed at her, smiling wide when she wrapped her tiny hand around your finger. "You're way too young to know any better, we can't correct that even if we wanted to."
"And we do want to," he said, pressing a kiss to her hair. "Don't we?"
"Of course we do. Just not today." You gave her little kisses to her hand, making her smile and giggle some more. "Maybe in another year, when we know she can start retaining information. Forcing it now involves trauma, and I can't do that to our daughter."
He only gave you a quiet, solemn nod, telling you he understood and agreed completely. He held you close with his free arm and pressed a quick kiss to your lips, making Lulu break out into a fresh round of delighted giggles as she clapped her little hands together. When you turned to face her, she placed her hands on your cheeks, pressing her nose to yours, and then she did the same with her father.
"One of these days though Daddy and I are gonna need to talk to you about saying those words in public."
"Who knew all it took for you to call me that was--"
You clapped your hand over your husband's arm to stop him mid-sentence. "Don't you f…" Your mouth made a wheezing sound as you tried to hold back the rest of the word, remembering that he was still carrying Lulu. He gave you a playful look as if to tell you 'Keep going, sweetheart. I dare you.' All you could do instead was let the sound die down and scrunch your face at him. "Hmph." You pointed a finger at him, and he didn't hesitate to kiss the tip of it.
"Hmph," Lulu mimicked you, a proud little smile on her face.
"I think it's safe to say that between the two of us, we know who our daughter is going to idolize," Tom mused. "Excellent taste. I think she gets that from her father."
A/N: Eeeee I'm so excited to finally unlock the final era of this couple. Welcome to…the parents era! And pls give little Eloise "Lulu" Hiddleston a warm welcome; she's gonna be every bit the menace her parents are 🥹💖

reading update: january 2025
I'm a bit behind on getting this posted, so I'm gonna do it quick and dirty. this is not the most elaborate reading round-up I'm ever going to do, and that's okay!!! january has gotten off to a weird, uneven start in terms of reading, and that is what it is!
The Extinction of Irena Rey (Jennifer Croft, 2024) - this book is great for anyone who likes dark academia but wants to see what those students will be like when they’re adults who have to get by outside of college. in this case, they become translators for an enigmatic woman who makes them gather in a remote Polish forest and then disappears. pure vibes all the way down; truly things just happen in this book. the gimmick of the novel itself being a work by one of the characters, told from her perspective, and then translated by another character that the narrator despises, is soooo rich and interesting, and I deeply wish it had been used much more extensively.
Darknesses (Lachelle Seville, 2022) - is this book good? I couldn’t possibly say. it was very fun to read on vacation with like 12% of my brain operating. the best way I can possible explain it is that by the time the book is over it feels like Seville is running one of those old ask blogs where artists would have their blorbos and their OCs answer questions and hang out and stuff. do you know the kind I’m talking about? it’s like that, it’s dissociative identity disorder Dracula and the descendants of the human Dracula characters and Norse mythology werewolves and a vampire bunny and a dragon and Satan who’s a teenage girl with pink hair and they’re all hanging out in New York City. don’t think too hard about it.
Become Your Own Matchmaker: 8 Easy Steps to Attracting Your Perfect Mate (Patti Stanger with Lisa Johnson Mandell, 2009) - I’m not proud of this and I can’t really justify it except that my housemates and I have gotten really into watching old episodes of Patti Stanger’s terrible TV show, Millionaire Matchmaker. the show is atrocious and so is the book but in my defense it’s extremely funny.
Queen Takes Rose (Katee Robert, 2020) - guys I can’t stand Katee Robert. I really can’t. I thought it was going to be fun but god this just sucked.
Adam & Evie's Matchmaking Tour (Nora Nguyen, 2024) - after that last one I really needed a good, normal romance novel to get me back on track, and this delivered! I don’t think it’s going to be one of my all-time faves, but the characters are lovably realistic losers and I was really rooting for them—especially Evie, who feels like a messy bitch I would love to hang out with. plus the setting, a romping tour across the sights of Vietnam, was so fun and I’m always willing to award points to a romance novel that supports telling your awful to fuck off right to hell!
Mystery Lights (Lena Valencia, 2024) - here’s the thing. every short story in this collection is a well written, coherent short story. thematically there are really clear throughlines; you’ll get a lot of mileage out of this if you like middle aged women who have complicated relationships with their daughters between the ages of 13 and 23. I really wanted to like this! and yet, I feel like this collection just isn’t going to stick with me very well. there are some cool concepts and ideas (there’s a creepy story involving a little girl who disappears into some underground caves and comes back Weird that actually spooked me pretty good) but overall I feel like it’s just not going to stick with me :/
Is Love the Answer? (Uta Isaki, 2021; trans. Sawa Matsueda Savage, 2023) - huge thanks to the person who sent me an ask to recommend this manga! it’s a very quick, sweet read about a university student coming into her aroace identity with the help of a circle of newfound friends supporting her along the way. I really liked the way it delves into the way anxiety can have you second-guessing and overthinking your sense of self even after embracing an identity. this was my Heartstopper (I say, without having ever read Heartstopper).
The Last Report on the Miracles at Little No Horse (Louise Erdrich, 2001) - I picked this up at Erdrich’s bookstore, Birchbark Books & Native Arts, last summer while I was briefly in Minneapolis, on recommendation by an employee at the store. I was initially hesitant about the novel’s focus on spirituality and religion, given that it follows a Catholic priest working on an Ojibwe reservation throughout the 20th century, but man, this was an incredible introduction to Erdrich’s work. Father Damian Modeste is an incredible character and one of my favorite depictions I’ve ever seen of a woman living long-term in disguise as a man, and how the line between those identities blurred. there’s a scene I don’t think I’ll ever forget, in which Modeste is asked, essentially, “Are you a man or a woman?” and answers firmly “I’m a priest.” and all the while, despite the fact that he’s supposed to be an agent of colonization and the destruction of indigenous culture, more than anything he is changed by the Ojibwe people he works with. it’s a surprising, elegant book, and I was shaken to find myself crying at the end.
A Magical Girl Retires (Park Seolyeon, 2022; trans. Anton Hur 2024) - this book is a short, rapid-fire read that’s a dry, funny take on the magical girl genre. our protagonist starts the book so mired in credit card debt that she’s considering jumping off a bridge when she’s summoned to be a magical girl, and things will only get weirder for her from there as Korea’s magical girl union recruits her to help them combat climate change. a fun read, easy to polish off in a single sitting at less than 200 pages.
salt slow (Julia Armfield, 2019) -now THIS was the short story collection I was waiting for! it reminded me so much of why I loved Armfield’s novel Our Wives Under the Sea. she has another new novel out this year and I’m really looking forward to reading that as well! she has an incredible way with love and melancholy.

yes, you must choose one Guy. hope this helps. if you don't know your Guy, ask your friends. they will.
if your Guy is retired, pick the archetype that fit them best during their career. generally, as well, pick the archetype that fits your Guy best during their career. (Jagr, for example, would probably be THE star or at least A star, though he currently plays in Europe.)
if your Guy is a Gal, replace NHL with PWHL and pronouns as necessary.
if you require further assistance in deciding which option your Guy best fits, drop me a message or an ask or a reply to this post, whatever you prefer! I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
this question might seem weird but trust me, there's a method to my madness!
reblog and put your Guy in the tags! I'm collecting :)
