Hello!! Can I ask for a personal opinion...? I hope you won't mind too much, I really like your posts and didn't know who else to ask :') It's a really amazing fandom here and I love everyone like real friends, even if I haven't met anyone. Some time ago I shared few personal posts which was just me grumbling about life, and got unfollowed by a mutual I really looked up to :") Then few months later it happened again with another mutual. I know not to take it personally but now every time I post anything, especially if it's personal stories, all I think is that people hate seeing it and I should just shut up deactivate completely. I still follow them and I see them making real friends with others, so it kind of stabs me twice I guess.. And even months later I keep questioning what did I do wrong? Am I that annoying, even online where people can just scroll past? I know it's not that serious and I shouldn't care and no one cares either, but it's been eating me up. Actually I don't think there's anything that can be done, sorry to use your ask box to gush out xD I really wanted to be on anon so no one else can unfollow me :') (also I don't think you know them and we don't speak but I love seeing you on my dash). i think we've all felt that way at one point or another. hell, whenever i make a personal post or vent about something i'm always really scared i'm annoying others. i think it'd be really hurtful if i wrote a personal post and had a mutual/friend unfollow me over it and i'd be overthinking it a lot. while i'm a big believer in curating your online space and i don't think unfollowing/blocking has to be *that* personal, i can't recall ever unfollowing a mutual or a friend because they were venting about their problems. once again, people are free to do whatever and they don't have to justify themselves, but it just sounds really shitty. tbh we're not always in the mood to deal with other people's problems, but if it's just a post you can scroll past, you can... just do that

that being said, i don't think it's a you problem. i mean, obviously i don't know who you are, but just from this ask you seem very sweet. i do think joblr is a very nice place, with very nice people, but it can be hard to get a conversation/friendship started, especially if it seems like everyone else is somehow able to make friends and you're not. suddenly it feels like a big thing you're excluded from and while everyone else is having fun you're left wondering if you can be a part of it. i've felt that way - and i still do sometimes ngl. but i can promise you there's plenty of us around here who love to talk to others and make friends. ofc you don't always click with everyone, but i'm sure there are other joblr users who'd love to befriend you 💜

but im weirdly (uncharacteristically?) not mad at the sprint start bottle? i famously suffer psychosomatically in a Bad way when lando fucks up (see: me retching into a toilet and sobbing on the floor post-sochi) but w this one i got over it so quickly? im honestly a bit more upset abt how bad our drs speed is we literally wouldnt even b able to overtake an alpine on the straight at this point

anyways. i think the reason im not mad is bc landos actions make sense logically to me? like fundamentally this move is uncharacteristic for him - he hasnt 'bottled' it in this way since arguably spain 2023 but not even then bc that wasnt desperation, it was just a not-great start and hamilton low-grip wiggling directly into his front wing (rip). the last good handful of times he started in a high position hes really (to my knowledge) done alright for himself, even surprisingly well considering he used to be kinda bad at starts. so like while in the Great Bottle Narrative this is gonna b added to the track limits fuckups and whatever, i see it as quite a separate event

so the question is, why was he desperate now when he tends to be cautious and clean in starts usually? well, it seems obvious to me - the only way this sprint couldve been of any importance to lando is if he won. if not, like, the difference between the 3 points he got and the 7 points hed have gotten for p2 is literally almost nothing at all, especially considering he still finished in front of his teammate, and ESPECIALLY considering mclaren doesnt seem to b in any constructors race at this point in the season, just stuck in no-mans-land p3 with huge gaps in front and behind. so the fact that he pulled a checo-in-mexico hero move into that corner doesnt surprise me at all bc he rly (as long as he kept his car intact, which he did) had very little to lose and a (small, but real) chance to win.

so like. even if im totally wrong and it was an instinct move and just his Bottler Tendencies, im quite happy hes doing the bottling thing when it Doesnt matter and showing up when it Does. maybe hes getting it out of his system idk but i can live w that

and these days I don’t really engage in fandom (despite the 30 blogs that tell you otherwise) mostly because I’m going insane over gay asian dramas (hence the blogs) and one piece (which is impossible to not go insane over when you start)

conclusively to this whole ramble, I don’t actually have any favourite crackships anymore which is big money sad but honestly they were fun because we used to be a little community of joy and ideas (aka the engagement with other people was the best part) but it stopped being like that for a lot of my fandoms and I pulled away regardless so I’m not really sad I don’t have crackships anymore but I do miss my fandom friends. the joy I get from the things I watch and read now are sustaining me in wonderful ways so I’m not too heartbroken ;)

tbh, on the topic of ink’s memory??? so many people use it for humor or angst for others because he forgot them, and i get it! but. but as someone who struggles with their own memory, i can say that realizing you forgot something a minute or even a few seconds after saying it or thinking of it is humiliating, if not devastating, depending on what’s going on or even how i’m feeling in the moment (because sometimes it can be the straw that breaks the camel’s back, you know?). it doesn’t feel funny, it just makes me feel like shit and like an idiot, and i can’t help wondering if half of the reason ink brushes off his bad memory so much and in the way he does is to try and suppress that.

it probably doesn’t help that so many people use it as an excuse to call him an idiot (even though, given his… well, everything, he’s probably forgotten more than most of the multiverse has learned combined). his memory being bad doesn’t mean he’s stupid! it doesn’t make him incompetent or an asshole! it’s just something that sucks that he has to deal with and and i really doubt he enjoys it.

I don’t think you’re overreacting at all Anon. It’s reasonable to feel hurt in a situation like this, seeing the way others react to a character you relate to and can see yourself in.

And you’re right. Ink isn’t stupid or an asshole for being forgetful (nobody is <3). It’s outside of his control. He loves learning new things, he’s a smart guy! I definitely think that Ink’s memory problems deserve to be explored more than just for a gag or angst purposes. I absolutely plan on putting more thought into my portrayals that’s for certain.

tbh I wonder what kinda music certain saints listen to. like what genres is dex listening to while driving around town, what are their favorite radio stations?

personally i hc dex listens to a lot of hip hop and R&B, partially inspired by his voice actor being primarily a rapper and composer. it’s also why i hc dex has a great singing voice. so many nites anteros and dex would just drive around singing along to the radio, pretending they’re the only ppl left in stilwater.

for other saints, off the top of my head, aside from johnny listening to aisha’s music ofc (i even hc when she was first starting out she filmed her own music video and he was in it hehe), i think he listens to a lot of trap. troy listens to a lot of classic rock. pierce always struck me as listening to a bit of everything but some of his faves being luxury rap, R&B, and classical. jazz too. shaundi i could see liking funk, house. hmmm
