Random 'Staged' cast Great British Bake-Off headcanon that I find myself thinking of:

-David and Michael are super competitive and try to impress the judges and the other contestants

-Georgia is self-depricating about her skills in the kitchen and her attention span

-Anna is quiet but leads most rounds because she's the most focused

-David runs back and forth to help Georgia in small ways like taking things out for her or laying things out. It's terribly adorable

-Once the bit about David helping Georgia is noticed by the judges and continues for a couple of rounds, he begins to plant quick kisses on her cheek ("thanks baby", "love you baby") before he zooms back to his station

-It takes David like 3 long strides to cross from her station to his so he doesn't lose much time on his own baking

-Michael jokingly argues that they're cheating and that he's helping her win

-David argues that he'd rather Georgia win than to win himself knowing he left her to fend for herself ("that's what marriage is for. It wouldn't be very gallant of me otherwise")

-Georgia pretends to be annoyed by him but loves it

-David is very proud and full of heart eyes for his wife and doesn't care who knows it

-Simon loses the first round, mostly for the bit

I’m scared of anyone who can maintain a regular update schedule for fics. twice a week. Once a month. It’s all scarily impressive to me. That you could be disciplined enough to make yourself work that fast OR disciplined enough to hold onto it until it’s time. And people who write the entire thing and then release the chapters one at a time on a schedule??? people who have planned enough ahead to do actual promotion for their fic??? do art ahead of time???? good grief. are you even a mortal.

Pride Prompts 2024, Day 3: Baking

Called home for Easter. First thing my Nonno said was "Buona Pasqua!" then told me I should learn to make sfogliatelle (pronounced in Italian-American slang, "sfoyadels" smh) and regaled me about how his mom had him roll out the dough for sfogliatelle and made St. Joseph's zeppole for his feast day. He's 90 and has only started talking about our family since I started learning Italian in undergrad, so these little nuggets of info are so precious to me I almost started crying. I miss being home for these moments and I hate having to miss all the holidays/family gatherings when everyone is getting older and idk how much long they'll be here.

Need to find a good sfogliatelle recipe now.
