notes: what it would be like to be a part of the phantom thieves; i had to stop halfway because this was getting too long; i might make a part two

futaba has individual folders dedicated to finding embarrassing posts, videos or pictures of each of the phantom thieves for leverage just in case she needs to blackmail anyone, she might just delete your folder if you’re on her good side though

somebody at yusuke’s school once told him that he’d be really good at drawing doujins and he mentioned this during a trip to mementos, this led to futaba recommending him doujins and yusuke just being utterly confused

yusuke occasionally some asks questions about “pop culture” during trips to mementos such as “what is NTR” and “what exactly is a MILF”, futaba is often more than happy to explain

yusuke tries to invite the other members to hang out except he has the worst invitations ever, “i’ve heard the sample kiosks at my local supermarket are quite good, would any of you perhaps like to sample them with me?”, joker and ryuji just end taking him to eat ramen

futaba has a huge snack stash and she will only share it with you if you’re on her good side

video game tournaments between the phantom thieves are a regular occurrence and can get quite competitive with the loser usually having to buy everyone ramen (except for when it’s yusuke), futaba never loses, ryuji and joker are both decent, makoto is initially pretty bad but quickly learns the controls and the strategies and can be extremely competitive, haru is only really good at the fighting games where she smashes buttons faster than others, yusuke and ann are an absolute joke, and well morgana…is a cat

ryuji is the assigned dj for car rides because the others have varying tastes in music and can never agree on what to play so ryuji was chosen because he has the most neutral taste in music

makoto and haru regularly try out new cafes together as well as doing study sessions together, they also go to desert cafes with ann

futaba once considered doxxing the people who spam the phantom thieves website with fake requests and try to convince other people that the phantom thieves don’t exist

more persona 5 headcanons/scenarios because it’s my birthday and i deserve silliness

Ann can ice skate really well. like stupid well. like the PT did a staking day and Ann wiped the floor with them. like “oh, yeah, I took skating lesson when I lived in Canada” well

conversely, Akechi and Ryuji can’t stake for shit. Ryuji’s knee can’t take it and Akechi just had shit balance, so they end up commiserating on a nearby bench.

Ann speaks Japanese and English fluently, French and Swedish semi-fluently, and a bunch of other languages conversationally. she’s really good at picking stuff up, and eventually becomes a massive polyglot.

Akechi had an incredibly brief foster placement in Ren’s hometown at one point. the only reason they didn’t meet is because Ren’s family was on vacation.

Haru is such a tea enthusiast. like take Sojiro’s coffee knowledge and apply that to Haru, just with tea. it’s kind of insane.

Yusuke EATS through sketchbooks. when he’s really in the zone, he can tear through like 5 in a month.

Futaba, Ren, and Ryuji play games together online. Futaba gets great joy in coming up with increasingly creative insult for misogynists, with Ren and Ryuji backing her up.

Haru knows a bunch of ballroom dances. not even necessarily for business meeting stuff. and she’s good at it.

Ren is a picture person. he LOVES taking pictures of shit. get that man a polaroid and he’s a happy camper

as a follow up to Makoto being a good baker: she’s a DOGSHIT cook. truly terrible. she tries SO hard and always manages to fuck it up.

Akechi viscerally hates his birthday

Ren will occasionally drop childhood stories about odd things he did when living in the country and the rest of the PT will be amazed by it (no one knows how he’s alive/wasnt arrested earlier)

when ann first catches feelings for you, when you join the phantom thieves alongside her, she never anticipated that she'd not only end up having to fight for your love, but against her future teammates no less!

for a while, it was just ann and you and things between the two of you went slow and comfortable. ann saw no reason to rush a confession to you!

but when makoto joined the team and ann realized that her new teammate had feelings for you as well, she knew that she now had to confess to you before makoto would!

not just that, as futaba and later on haru joined the phantom thieves as well, more competition came along – and every new phantom thief girl fell in love with you!

the girls aren't super competitive, at least not in a toxic way! they'd never fight against each other and want to remain friendly, despite their conflicting interests

yet they each try to find some alone time with you, to grow closer to you and eventually win your heart – to mixing results!

haru and makoto are often too shy to truly make a move on you. haru manages to spend time with you, but she never properly conveys her romantic interest in you, while makoto struggles with the same thing!

futaba, on the other hand, is almost too clingy! she can't flirt subtly – or really flirt at all – so she just clings to you all the time and hopes that you eventually realize she loves you!

ann is the only one who got any real game! she's quite sweet and charming, managing to get the furthest out of all four girls! yet even she has her awkward moments around you…

and then there's the newest phantom thief girl; yoshizawa! she's clingy as well, but mixed with ann's sweet charm! yet she's the one who tries the least to win over your heart, despite her own feelings for you! she knows the other girls like you too, so she tries to stay in the background for their sake…

Why the Phantom Thieves are banned from Dave & Buster’s

(Don’t take these too seriously, I’m just shitposting with no serious thought or edits)

Makoto: Roundhouse kicked a 40-year-old guy who tried to hit on Futaba and sent him to the ER

Futaba: Hacked the speakers and played unhinged nightcore dubstep remixes, was asked to stop, and proceeded to bass boost them

Akechi: Was one point away from setting the record on their DDR machine before he fucked up and proceeded to punch the screen hard enough to break it

Haru: Got WAY too into a game of laser tag, several children left crying

Ryuji: You know that one clip of the dude letting go of the bowling ball way too late and hitting the ceiling and breaking the sprinklers, flooding the whole place? That. He did that.

Ren: Used his third eye to play the rigged claw machines and beat their 1 millimeter margin of error, emptying two full machines worth of prizes before being asked to leave

Morgana: Was a cat

Yusuke: Was so appalled by the food that he snuck into their kitchen to prove he could make something more appetizing and more aesthetically pleasing. Got halfway done before getting thrown out

Shiho, who’s totally a canon member of the Phantom Thieves and always has been: Immediately helped Yusuke break back into the kitchen to finish the food. Also befriended a heard of 12-year-olds and had them distract security to buy more time

Sumire: The only one who’s still allowed in, but hasn’t had much reason to go since Akechi broke the DDR machine

Ann: Tried convincing the manager to let everyone back in, which ended in a shouting match after the manager turned out to be an asshole

Headcanoning Persona 5 characters Mariokart mains, because I'm funny and I have way too much time to think about dumb things

Ren mains Shy Guy, usually green because he loves Kakyoin from JJBA. Mute City F-Zero is also his favorite Mariokart 8 track because of this.

Ryuji once said "I bet Ann plays Princess Peach", and Ann was so offended by the assumption that every time she intentionally takes Bowser before Ryuji can, so he has to pick his second favorite (Donkey Kong) instead. She doesn't even dislike Peach necessarily, she just never played Peach and was feeling petty.

Now, technically Ryuji could always just pick Dry Bowser- but unfortunately for him, Makoto always picks Dry Bowser, so he has no choice but to pick Bowser Jr, and he would rather just keep Donkey Kong.

Akechi doesn't really play Mariokart unless he's roped in by the group, so he never really had a main. The others kept throwing out suggestions for him to pick, and he kept shooting them down for various contrived reasons, only giving in because Futaba was the loudest and most obnoxious one shouting "Pick Yoshi". That's the day he became the Yoshi main.

Yusuke mains King Boo, and was extremely baffled and confused when Futaba blurted out "only sluts play King Boo" (Ann couldn't help but laugh at that).

Futaba would only play either Luigi or Waluigi, depending on her mood. Either way, she's a memelord about it.

Haru would be Daisy, because she's iconic and also they're very similar. Makoto pointed it out and Haru has picked Daisy every time ever since.

Morgana always picks Mario, but not just any Mario. Specifically Tanooki Mario. Everyone gave him a look, but he acted like this was perfectly normal behavior. If anyone brings up the resemblance, he will get extremely defensive.

Sumire almost exclusively played Rosalina, until one day she decided to pick Toadette out of nowhere. The group was kind of surprised, and she explained that she thinks it's cute, and never went back.

Zenkichi keeps refusing to play, and only gives in because Sumire is a sweetheart who suggests that he match her and pick Toad. He does, and it's funny as hell.

And finally, Sophia would pick Princess Peach, specifically Cat Peach with the pink car because it matches the colors. Before that she was just going to make a Mii of herself reluctantly, but Ann showed her Cat Peach and her eyes just lit up.

ryuji - bisexual, probably still closeted though but everyone knows. he convinces himself he only likes women but someday he’ll realize. trust

ann - lesbian, in love w shiho, you know it. goddamn she’s so lesbian coded its crazy. she’s also known for a while, like probably since she was a kid, she’s never been afraid heh literal number one women enjoyer

yusuke - aroace agender. bro does not give a fuck and we love that for him. i don’t think he really thinks about his sexuality or gender, that’s kind of just how he is. like he’s acknowledged it before but like whatever. he’s interested in romance but like observing it through art, not actually experiencing it

makoto - bisexual. i just know she had a whole crisis about this and it takes her a while to fully accept this. she never really thought about romance too much and has always had other things to think about. honestly shes probably kind of aroace spec too

futaba - aroace nb. kind of like yusuke in the sense of not giving a fuck but she had a bit of a crisis about this but fully embraces it now. also still presents more fem and uses any pronouns

akechi - gay transmasc. this feels rlly obvious. idk i dont have many notes here either thats just how he is. he transitioned as a younger teen though, after his mom died but before the whole shido thing, i think after he awoke to his persona though? i think he knew before awaking that being a girl felt wrong, but being in the metaverse n seeing his persona, he realized and decided that before going back to shido, he had to transition

While doing research for female equivalents of Arsene, I discovered that the wikipedia page for fictional female thieves lists all of the phantom thieves girls except for Makoto and Futaba? Who made this lmao

And Irene Adler is there for some reason. I know that Arsene is supposed to be the rival of Sherlock Holmes so logically I would have to pick Irene Adler but she's not a thief or a criminal at all, it's just that so many versions of Sherlock Holmes tricked people into thinking she's a catwoman-like figure. In the original novel she's literally just an innocent opera singer who was being harassed by a king that she used to date. She did nothing wrong, stop slandering her.

Actually now that I'm typing this out, "woman accused of doing something she did not by a scummy politician who abuses his power and hires a detective to sell her out but she manages to outsmart said detective and escape" is basically joker's actual story... dammit. why does it fit. hang on.........

My best friend and I came up with a stupid little concept for our silly little "akechi lives don't ask how though" persona 5 AU

So you know how middle school and high schoolers use codenames with their best friends to talk about other people in public. Like referring to someone's crush as "pineapple" we were thinking that akira does that but since they already have codenames he just switches everyone's codenames down one in order of who joined. We used a whiteboard to illustrate what kind of shenanigans could ensue

I'm gonna write down everything that was on the board in case it's difficult to understand when looking at the picture

Codenames: Akira - Violet, Ryuji - Joker, Morgana - Skull, Ann - Mona, Yusuke- Panther, Makoto - Fox, Futaba - Queen, Haru - Oracle, Akechi - Noir, Sumi - Crow. The only people who know and understand the codename switch are Ann, Akira and Ryuji and they use it to gossip

The fun begins when we decided to torture Akechi by having him accidently overhear almost every conversation where these confusing nicknames are used.

Akechi overhears:

-> cries and calls Ann

Akira does this needlessly complicated name system just to be messy. He doesn't plan on akechi finding out but he keeps it complicated in case any of the others overhear him. He didn't think the possibility of akechi overhearing was very high but Akechi loves to eavesdrop.

My Fruity P5 Headcanons

- Makoto, Shiho, and Hifumi are all lesbians. Ann is Sapphic knowing she will worship the ground a lady walks on. Does she like guys? She’s not entirely sure, but she’s with Shiho so she doesn’t care.

- Ryuji and Haru are both bisexual. They are the kind of couple who are both infatuated with the same celebrities and will gush about how pretty the guy at the diner was or how gorgeous the lady at the supermarket was

- Akira is gay gay homosexual gay. He has no idea why the girls keep confessing their love for him, he just wants to smooch the phansite admin. He’s also floating somewhere in the nonbinary spectrum, a he/they connoisseur.

- Yuuki is pansexual and SUFFERING because all of his friends are pretty and Akira is GORGEOUS!

- Futaba and Yusuke are both asexual. Futaba is greyromantic too sometimes wanting to smooch Yusuke and sometimes the mere idea of it grossing her out. Could just be because he annoys her sometimes.

- Yusuke isn’t entirely sure how he identifies romance wise because he doesn’t care to explore beyond aesthetic attraction. Not in a shallow way, but it’s because art is his life and passion and aesthetic means something deep and profound to him beyond “this person is pretty”. Aesthetic includes their mannerisms, how a person views the world, how they carry themselves in life and daily activities. And to him, Futaba’s silly self is top tier in aesthetics.

- Shinya is like 11 and too busy trying to get the highest scores at the arcade. Sure he thought some of his classmates were cute but it never really developed into anything.

I'm not the first one to have this headcanon, but.....

Heavy Sleeper Akiren!

Akiren naturally being a very deep sleeper, like, ridiculously deep sleeper!

Plus, exhausting activities such as Studying, Exploring Mementos and Palaces, and the post traumatic stress of the Probation probably doesn't help.

But like, this poor kid won't wake up for shit. Only very specific things wake him.

Sojiro almost has a heart attack when Akiren doesn't come downstairs for breakfast and school so he goes to check on him only to see he's still asleep. HOLY SHIT, DID THE KID DIE IN HIS SLEEP?!

After confirming Akiren luckily still has a heartbeat and pulse, he calms down a bit. After a couple more incidents Sojiro realizes this is just like Futaba.

Morgana tries to wake Akiren by telling him to wake up, pawing him, which then turns to paws with the danger knives, yowling in his ear, biting him.

After all those fail, Morgana gets worried and contacts Ryuji and Ann..

And by contact, I mean Morgana tries to text them but paws aren't very reliable for texting so the message just comes out as a slew of gibberish and autocorrect.

Ann and Ryuji are very confused at first, but quickly realize it's Morgana, and once asking if Akiren can text instead and not getting legible responses, they decide to come over.

Then THEY have mini heart attacks, HE'S STILL ASLEEP? IS HE DEAD? QUICK CHECK FOR A HEARTBEAT.

"I hear something! He's still alive!"

"THEN WHAT IF HE'S IN A COMA?!"

The Apocalypse could be happening outside, and Akiren won't even stir, that's how deep this kid sleeps.

But there's one thing that seems to wake him....

An alarm clock....

You can blow an air horn in his ear, shake him, slap him, and he won't even budge.

But when that alarm clock goes off----

Akiren opens his eyes, slowly sits up and stretches "Oh, is it morning already?"

The rest of the group just stare in bewildered silence, obviously relieved Akiren is indeed alive, but dumbfounded that a measley alarm clock was the answer to wake their narcoleptic friend and leader. There's no logical explanation for it.

Persona 5 Thieves x Reader

Cuddling and what they're up for

Ren/Akira is mostly indifferent with it, but bro is down for anything. Snuggles? Sure. Basic cuddles? Of course. Lap cuddles? Fuck it why not. And he's damn good at it too. Protagonist power goes nuts.

Ryuji is kinda nervous about it at first but he gets used to it. Sleeps on your shoulder at least weekly and at most after five weeks.

(Platonic) Morgana is a cat. Daily.

Ann is the type of girl to say she likes to cuddle and only knows basic cuddling. You hold her and she holds you. She's alright at it, but it's her voice that does it in. It just feels so soothing.

Yusuke sees cuddling as an art form once you introduce him to it. You two will cuddle in the most extravagant poses for no reason. Not much else to it.

Makoto is incredibly inexperienced and incredibly nervous. But when she learns you will get lap cuddles all day. She likes to play with your hair and it's instantly relaxing.

Futaba is just all over you, she loves it. Whether it's because she had a stressful day or what have you. You are always the big spoon, no objections. She falls asleep instantly.

Haru is avid in cuddling. She reads a lot of romance books so she knows a thing or two. She's strong, but gentle. She is always the big spoon and whispers sweet nothings in your ear. She'll ask if you want her to give you head scratches or anything while she holds you. 10/10.

Akechi is... an interesting case. Pancake boy Akechi is always willing, but Murder Death Akechi will tell you no, straight up. He's a Two Face. Depends on the day. He holds you protectively even though there's nobody but you and him. You will not escape.

Sumire is a mix of Ann and Makoto. Super nervous at first, but says she likes to yet only knows basic cuddling. Her voice helps too, it sounds really sweet. That and she'll give you positive affirmation.

persona 5 headcanons i have because this game makes me insane (affectionate)

Ren and Akechi are both insomniacs

Ren develops a HUGE phobia of needles post interrogation. he pretty much has to stop helping Takemi with her research because of it. doctors visits are a nightmare and he can’t even explain why

Ryuji’s knee would occasionally give out in Palaces. he would try and tough it out until they got to a safe room. once Futaba joined the team, she figured out pretty damn quick what was going on and ushered them to a safe room whenever it happened. Ryuji never put the dots together.

Ren and Ryuji have asked Yusuke to make fake IDs for them.

follow up: Sojiro would be a “i’d rather you drink in the house” type of dad, but he isn’t with Ren purely because it would be a violation of his probation (not like PT shenanigans weren’t but you get the picture)

After Shiho’s attempt, Ann started checking in on everyone’s mental health a lot more often. no one really noticed except for Ryuji (since he’s known her the longest) but he didn’t mention it.

Ryuji and Akechi had a long conversation about Featherman ONCE (mostly cause Akechi was insanely sleep-deprived at the time). it was the closest the two ever got to bonding and they never mentioned it again

Iwai was weirdly relieved when he figured out Ren was a Phantom Thief because before that, he could not for the LIFE of him figure out why a 16 year old boy wanted THIS MANY model guns. did it make much more sense? no. but at least it was a better reason than other criminal activity (as if Iwai didn’t accidentally pull Ren into yakuza business but shhhh)

for a while, Futaba and Ren were effectively fighting for custody over Mona. They eventually settled on a schedule Mona did not follow, much to both parties dismay

Makoto bakes and is really good at it. she’s the designated baker for everyone’s birthday

Haru will frequently mention something she’s done that seems benign to her, only to be met with stares of disbelief from everyone else (she forgets she’s rich)

follow up: Haru will also say the most batshit thing in the sweetest voice that throws EVERYONE off.

double follow up: she’s the only Phantom Thief Akechi is even close to genuinely afraid of (scary Haru my beloved 🫶)

when Futaba got access to Akechi’s phone, she would occasionally just fuck with small settings for funsies. it caused Akechi so much distress at such a bad time

Futaba also has a backup of Ren and Akechi’s text messages to use as blackmail later.

the other girls are all a little shy when they start dating you, but warm up to it over time. futaba is the most shy at first, but also the girl that warms up to you the quickest!

meanwhile makoto takes the longest to get used to dating you, too flustered and nervous about her first relationship being one where she shares her partner

the girls are all good friends, so they have no problems sharing you. when you go on a date with just one of the girls, you can almost be certain that the others girls will hang out together as well!

you even have a hunch that some of them don't just have a crush on you, but on each other as well! especially makoto and haru seem rather close…

futaba, haru and ann are all very affectionate people, who love public displays of affection! meanwhile makoto only shows her affectionate side in private, with just you or the other girls around…

the phantom thief guys are honestly a bit jealous of your relationship with the girls. especially ryuji and morgana constantly voice their jealousy, while yusuke and ren are more laid back and are just happy the girls are happy too!

though perhaps those four won't be the only girls you'll be dating, as during the third semester, sumire not only joins the phantom thieves but also develops a little crush on you

and with how supportive your girlfriends are, they'd happily welcome her into the relationship as well!
