Just wanna say how cool it is that the families in twst all have very diverse dynamics, and it’s something that’s normalized

Like Deuce was raised by a single mom, Vil by a single dad, Azul gets along well with his step father, Ruggie was raised by his grandma, Lilia is Silver’s (and Malleus’s tbh) adoptive father, and I could go on cause there are more examples.

It’s genuinely nice how casual the writing is when it comes to these things. Like yeah, their home lives are different and it’s chill cause there’s nothing wrong with not having a nuclear family.

Alright let’s get the ages out of the way again. Remember that these are my headcanons and my story and all that cool cool cool

Toby: 21

Tim: 24

Brian: 24

Jeff: 21

Ben: physically 20 (technically around in their 30s)

Clockwork: 21

Jane: 22

EJ: 25

Slender: around 500 (physically in his mid 40s)

Sally: physically 8 (technically 70+)

Nina: 17

The blog pulls the cartoon logic where time passes but nobody really ages just for the sake of keeping consistency. Like I know years have passed in real life, but they will stay the same age for my sake. Or you can pretend they’re aging, I don’t really care.

I’m also aware that Tim and Brian’s ages won’t be the most accurate with the timeline of Marble Hornets, but with the way I write them it just feels better to put them nearly in their mid 20s rather than anything significantly older. They just remind me a lot of myself, and the themes in general with the blog is having these people learn to function as adults in a very unstable and unfamiliar environment similar to young adults just trying to learn how to be adults without being given the needed guidance.

Point is, I don’t think it’s an issue of aging them down a couple years then what they would be by the end of Marble Hornets.

This is a hot take, but I like that Gaz isn’t alt ajshssh only because the idea that Dib being alt while Gaz isn’t is funny, but also it reflects their roles in the story. Gaz is the straight man to Dib’s…Dibness, it kinda makes sense

Alt Gaz does rule though, I like a lot of the designs people give her with that in mind

Tbh I think I’m gonna change the throuple that was Brian, Nat, and EJ cause it felt like that trope where a writer feels like they have to pair everyone with someone, and as an aroace person I very much do want some characters to stay single as that kind of representation is very important to me.

I still want Brian to be in a throuple as he’s the one I headcanon as poly. It’ll just be two different characters. All while Nat and EJ are chilling. Nat for now, she might have a partner eventually. EJ just likes being single haha

So yeah, that’s really the only update I have to give. They didn’t break up in universe or anything, I just snapped my fingers and it’s like it never happened lol
