Animantion (LO2, LO4)

The definition of earwigging is "earwigging is said to come from the old wives’ tale that an earwig could burrow into a person’s head via the ear and poison the brain" (from this website).

I used this story to create a flip book as a part of my animation experiment. I used the screen of my iPad to see the drawing underneath the new page, which enabled me to adjust the facial expressions and earwig movements to match the proportions. I filled the bug with colour to draw more attention to it and put it in the centre of the story. Without highlighting the bug, the illustrations looked excessively detailed, making it challenging for viewers to follow the storyline at the pace of someone flipping through the book.

This animation was one of my favourite pieces as I put a lot of thought into it and created a book that brings still images to life.

انیمیشن؛ تجربه با همکاری جامعه‌ی نیومدیا برگزار می‌کند: شماره‌ی سی و پنج | اینسرت #۱۳ در باب فایل کم حجم؛ نشست آنلاین با نویسنده و نظریه پرداز هنرهای رسانه ای، لارا مارکس پنجشنبه نهم اردیبهشت ماه هزار و چهارصد - ساعت هشت و نیم عصر(به وقت رسمی ایران) پلت فرم آنلاین پروژه‌های نیومدیا (برنامه زوم) برای شرکت در جلسه در تاریخ بالا روی لینک زوم جلسه کلیک کنید: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84006910209 در این جلسه از سلسله نشست های انیمیشن؛ تجربه بصورت آنلاین با لارا مارکس، یکی از برجسته ترین نظریه پردازان عرصه ی هنرهای رسانه ای (علی الخصوص فیلم تجربی) که هم اکنون مقیم کاناداست، گفت و گو خواهیم کرد. این نشست بر معرفی فستیوال فایل های کم حجم (Small File Media Festival) که تنها فیلمهای زیر پنج مگابایت را نمایش می دهد متمرکز خواهد بود و به دغدغه ی اخیر این پژوهشگر نسبت به تأثیرات کربن (میزان انتشار گاز گلخانه‌ای) مرتبط با پخش آنلاین ویدیو (streaming media) خواهد پرداخت. از نظر کالکتیو انیمیشن؛ تجربه و جامعه ی نیومدیا پرداختن به این جشنواره نه تنها به جهت دغدغه های محیط زیستی آن، بلکه همچنین به علت پتانسیل این حرکت برای بر هم ریختن نسبی مدیوم، و شکل گیری فرم ها و ایده های بدیع/آشنا، و تازه کردن زیبایی شناسی بصری دارای اهمیت ویژه ای است. در پایان این نشست، زمانی نیز به طرح پرسش های مخاطبین جلسه اختصاص خواهد یافت. میزبانی این برنامه بر عهده ی سمیه خاکشور از اعضای گروه انیمیشن؛ تجربه میباشد. این جلسه به زبان انگلیسی همراه با ترجمه همزمان خواهد بود و برای دسترسی آینده ضبط خواهد شد.
