Hi, welcome to Anna wants to point shit out about the quiet scene in 806 because why not :)

Bachelor party color combo but inverted, Buck is in black and dark green (because he is still wearing the breakup shirt) and Eddie loses his shirt which happens to be the darkest part of his outfit, and in contrast, on 806 the only thing he keeps is the baby pink shirt.

Green and pink is also the color combo of the hildy prank.

Also, similarities with this particular framing, including the beer (Eddie chasing tequila with beer my beloved), but the lights here are a lot more blue, and obviously, there isn't the space that exists between them on the couch in 806, and considering that the bachelor party both of them were dating other people and are currently single makes it interesting that they won't touch.

The beer they are drinking? New brand. A red brand. Not the regular yellow genuine or the blue one from the coming out scene.

A lot of elements there are interested when you consider pink is a much more Buck color than Eddie and Eddie is in green all the time. The possibility of the pink and green combo having something to do with them having fun is real cuz 3 examples is a pattern lol. The way they don't talk to each other or touch or even look at each other add a lot, it's not about anything specific, it's about the presence. Buck is part of Eddie's joy and Eddie is part of Buck's safety yet again. Great scene. So much done with no lines.

Yeah, that is linked to ADHD! Our brains don’t naturally provide us with enough dopamine, so we look for it in other places; like sugar. This is why exercising is supposed to help - it provides us with the dopamine we are lacking - but our executive dysfunction can tend to get in the way of us actually doing it.

basically the people who know about him are marjan (she witnessed him shooting one of the unarmed migrants), owen, and sadie (julie benz) (who is also featured in the promo stills).

A gifset of Eddie rescuing the cat in the episode has made me remember that we've now had both Buck and Eddie rescuing cats. Nothing significant but I thought it was cool parallel. 😄

Oooh, might it be this one by the brilliant @bicepsie​? And yes, I love this parallel too! We haven’t yet had one of the other teammates do that, have we? And each one of them rescues the cat in an ep where the main story was dedicated to them, Buck in 316 with the Red plot that made him realize he does feel more alone than he admits, while Eddie did so in 406, where he embraced that it’s okay to move on from being alone. Def a cool little parallel, thank you for sharing, hon! xoxoxox

What do you think about the theory of Eddie and Ana (eventually) getting engaged? Cause  of the shot of him on his knee and grabbing her left hand. I still think buddie is gonna happening but that did worried me.

Hi Nonnie! I honestly think he had to get down because he’s much taller than her and trying to take care of her hand without doing that would have been not just awkward for him, but also would have made for bad filming angles. I also think the injury had to be a hand because it had to be something very visible and present (holding a big ice pack over the hand in front of her body) to make Eddie stop in his tracks and treat her instead of finishing his task.

Could the show eventually use this as a parallel if at some point they decide to have him propose to her? Yes. But to get Eddie and Ana to that point, the show would have to start showing A LOT more investment in her character than they’ve shown so far. Not only was her original intro in 312 poorly done because it was so lazy that it relied heavily on cliches (and stupid ones, do not get me started on the insult to the intelligence of the viewers that was her line about how she guessed his name was Edmundo), then in 315, where they could have given her a significant moment with Eddie, she was present, but so minimally, it was ridiculous. It was more of a statement that said ‘remember this character, because she will be back’ than actual investment. And now in this season, they had zero build up to her return. Think about Abby’s in 318. We had ALL of 316 dedicated to showing us that Buck is still haunted by questions of why she abandoned him, 317 established again that she was still on his mind and troubling him, then its ending directly tied in with her full on reappearance in 318. And she was always only meant to return once to give him closure and let him move on. Where was a similar build up for Ana’s return this season? We went through 5 eps where there was no hint of Eddie suffering because he’s lonely in general or thinking of her specifically. Even during this ep, it was more about him finally letting go of the past than about her.

This isn’t hate on Ana’s character, I’m just pointing out that the show did not yet take the time to develop her as a meaningful character. To get Eddie to propose they would have to do that first, as well as, IMO address what they kinda broke in 312. They did fix the issue of her being Christopher’s teacher, but they still have to deal with the fact that the attitude they gave her regarding Chris trying to skate was ableist. Because as it stands, her POV was basically, “Oh, he has CP and can’t use a regular skateboard? Must mean he shouldn’t skate.” That’s something they’ll have to address and correct. Right now, I don’t see them investing in her that much that they can bring her to the point where Eddie proposes to her. Let’s not forget, it took them well over a season to get Eddie to the point where he moved on from his ex and was ready to go on a date. So I don’t think an engagement to her is on the cards this season (and I do think they usually only plan parallels like this, like Chim and Maddie discussing how they might get to kids one day in 301 vs them finding out they’re pregnant in 318, over the arc of one season). This might be weird, since you wrote it 2 years ago, but I just read your entire Naruto timeline post and noticed you never added when you think Gai was promoted to Jonin. So, I was wondering, do you have any guess at what age Gai might have been promoted to that rank? I've been trying to figure it out but can't find an answer anywhere. Thank you!

Not weird at all! Even though the post date is 2018, I do come back to that timeline and add to it sometimes if I feel there’s something that strongly fits into the compiled dates.

As for Gai, I wouldn’t say that there’s anything in his life in particular that lends to a specific date for jonin promotion. We know that it’s when he is older than 11, when he becomes a chunin, and younger than 25 (since that’s when he gets a genin team). 

So, I think a better frame of reference would be to look at the jonin promotion ages we do know. Kakashi: 9, 11 or 13, depending on how much sense you want to make of his physical appearance and team at Kannabi Bridge. For the sake of consistency with my timeline, let’s say 11. Neji, 16-17. Sakura, 18-19, since she was a jonin two years post-war. Shikamaru, 18-19. as well Kurenai, supposedly 27, since she was new to it in Part I. Sakura and Neji are good comparison points, since they are primarily taijutsu users too, with another specialized skill. So, mid-to-late teens seems like a solid frame of reference. 

I suspect Gai would aim for sooner rather than later to catch up to Kakashi. So, if I had to guess, I’d say 16, since that seems pretty early, without being overly so! It would also align with the time that Itachi graduated from the academy, and Itachi seeing Gai becoming a rising jonin would make sense, given Itachi’s deference to his skill in their Part I encounter.

Hello! I'm writing a fic where Eddie gets really badly injured and I know Eddie shouldn't speak Spanish in fics (or that much) but I was wondering about Isabel? Example: In my fic, Eddie is unconscious and Isabel and Buck go in to see him. I was thinking about having her say something in Spanish but since I'm not Latinx or Hispanic I don't know if this would be okay or is she another one that shouldn't speak it that much or at all? Thank you!

I doubt she’d speak Spanish to buck or to the doctor tbh but we know she’s religious so she may murmur a prayer over him in Spanish? But yea it’s unlikely she’d say anything to a white person in Spanish

I recently got into 9-1-1 (read: binged all seven seasons and five episodes in two weeks) and I can honestly say no other fandom drew me in this quickly - that being said I love the color theories surrounding our boys, however I am still a bit unclear on what the significance of Eddie's yellow / Buck's blue is and how do they play into eachother?

Hi!! Welcome to the madness. I will link my main posts about the blue and yellow but a lot happened this season already, so I'll do an overview here too (x x x x x)

Basically, Buck's coming out arc is blue and yellow coded and Buck is dressed in shades of blue through the whole thing.

The culmination of Buck's coming out arc is the coming out scene in 705 because it is the only moment Buck chooses to come out. So this is Buck's blue.

While Buck was doing all that, Eddie was in the sun, or surrounded by gold/yellow.

So in the coming out scene, we have Buck settled into his blue and Eddie in front of his yellow.

But the blue and yellow coding of Buck and Eddie actually started in 201. Down to the way that "Practice rounds have blue caps. Gold caps are live." with the blue and yellow lights on the ambulance ceiling. If you pay attention while watching they have a lot of scenes with blue and yellow elements.

But the main thing here is the will reveal.

For all intents and purposes, this is an aborted love confession, and Buck is in yellow, Eddie is in blue. But more importantly, Buck is in the yellow that we have behind Eddie for the coming-out scene.

And interestingly enough, the blue of the wall, is the blue of Buck's hoodie in the hospital when he comes out to everyone. So they are switched.

Also, during the 601 dinner, when they establish the couch thing, they are blue and yellow, like, Buck's grey is blue in the same way Eddie's beige is yellow.

So the idea is that Eddie will be sandy yellow beige the same way Buck was navy blue while figuring himself out. One example of that is the sandy shirt Eddie is wearing while talking to Bobby on 804. Also the general blue and yellow coding of Eddie's arc that episode.

Something else that happened is that Eddie was wearing Buck's blue at the hospital in 805.

Which leads us to today's clip. I color-corrected the clip because @stagefoureddiediaz thought that it might be the same shirt, which would put Eddie firmly in the yellow category while talking to the priest, and tie things to that conversation in 601.

This puts more into the theory that Eddie find his way to his shade of yellow the same way Buck found his shade of blue. I think since Buck worked through darker shades of blue to find his color, Eddie will do the opposite and will be lighter shades of yellow, working up to something in this real of yellow.

And that the buddie canon will be with Buck in his blue and Eddie finally in his yellow. So I'm on high alert for them in blue and anything that could be categorized as yellow.

And this got longer than I planned oajksoaksoaks if you read this I love you 🫶

I like to think the way Hank comforts Connor is by reading to him, like reading physical books that you can flip the pages too. They lie down on the bed, Sumo between them, and Hank will just read for hours until Connor is feeling better. As for Markus, Markus cuddles with him and will distract him with talk of how his day went. It helps get Connor's mind off of his own stressful days, knowing the progress Markus is making in the revolution and that there is hope for a better future for them.

Connor lying face down on Hank’s bed, listening to Hank reading but not actually processing any of the words while he stims absently with Sumo’s fur is life.Markus will tell Connor about all the good people he’s met and how he can’t wait to do future things with him. Markus will talk about vacations they can take in the future and what color they should decorate their apartment. If Connor is in a mood where talking is too much to handle Markus will just hold him and run his nails through his hair. Even on the rare occasions that Connor doesn’t even want to be touched Markus will wrap him in a blanket and sit in the same room with him until Connor is feeling better.
