jackson!ellie who makes the first move? kiss–wise. cause okay— we've got the scene from the actual game where dina locks in that first kiss, a drunken whim, and whatnot, but what about ellie doing so? allow me to conjure a picture up; that freckled, mellow–eyed portrait leveled to your face, her lips pinched to a demure crease— tense enough on the corners to hollow her dimples, the fat auburn worms above her eyes tweaking alongside a nod to your wisping words that enlighten her very eager brain right now, arms slack to wrap your waist and frisky warm upon the sacral of your spine with palms overlaid, waddling in a legato and sluggish manner to each pace of song. your lips are consistently ashift, lacing over every honeyed vowel that kept this silly little girl christened ellie— too attentive. eyes unto your lips, pupils enlarge and bedim all color to her organ–throbbing crush on you, a feeling, fennels and columbines a manifestation inside her flattered eyes watching you speak, "y'know, i just think that everybody on patrol is a dumb cunt, n' can't shoot for shit. maria needs to reassign." and, my. how words of curses and a rigid, shit–talking nature blow from your throat like a damn aria, on and on rambling, contract some balled sensation in ellie's gut to burst open a thousand angels serenading— their feathers a silken uncomfortableness in her guts. how it pushed her, made her spine shiver, made her face slowly tilt in, made her brows flinch sunken into the sea of her skin, and a little voice compelled her when you spoke, "totally should assign you and i—" mmmph. two mouths sealed as one. ellie, who was already a magnet, reached voice to voice and consumed the trails of your speech, flesh chapped yet somewhat plump and velvety of a 'sorry' she could not push into vocals rolled over the knoll of yours, pursing her top lip inside as her mouth steals your bottom one, an ample pressure on your inner–cheek that smushes her cute button nose as it pokes, and releases when she departs your consumption of that sudden kiss. her face lingers, still slanted, eyes darting across your face maddenly for any ounce of a reaction written in flesh, unsure on whether to sanction you some breathing room or to mention boldly about it— but you're too damn pretty to fleet away, so she decides to act somewhere balanced upon that spectrum gently, "did i do okay?" not 'was that okay?' nor 'fuck, m'sorry.' but those foolproof words, yet the look of a lost puppy was most pitiful on her features. you chuckle dry, and her palms flock to your waist— gripping, narrowing the answer out of you so timid, you have to chuckle the reply out as well, "more than okay," and you soften, bored of the blurry, obnoxious string lights a mere background to her big head, "very okay, williams." and shut the scene to nothing, pulling her rosy heat on your lips, once more.
sorry gays, idk what came over me. fluffy hours

Content Warnings: MDNI, dark content, sacrilege, blasphemy, religious themes, dubcon (aphrodisiac), manipulation, sexual content, dom!reader, sub!Mitsuri, unprotected sex, oral (reader receiving), scissoring, virginity loss (Mitsuri), corruption k!nk, praise k!nk, degradation, hair pulling, concepts of "purification" and "chastity", concepts of sex and sexuality being "dirty" and "sinful", slight mentions of blood (not in a sexual context), use of bible verses (in italics), references to bible passages/stories, people who are religious may find this content offensive, please read with caution
Summary: Mitsuri had always done what she was told to do, glorifying her god and helping those who needed it. She never once thought about breaking the rules – much less her vow to chastity, until she found what initially appeared to be a human in a darkened alleyway in need of help, unknowingly falling into a trap that would corrupt her from holiness for the rest of eternity.

A/N: so, I used to be religious (Christian), so a lot of this might've come out of my own personal traumas that I experienced (eg. the concept of purification and chastity and being ashamed of having "dirty" thoughts). Obviously, I no longer hold these views (as evidence by writing these fics LMAO), but that somewhat influenced how I wrote this fic, maybe some of y'all will be able to relate? I hope you enjoy!!

Let your light shine before them in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Mitsuri loved the world, she loved humans and nature and all the beauty that existed in between. She would watch the sun rise upon the earth and how it would cast its rays upon trees and cities as life basked in its holy light.
She loved the night as well – how it brought tranquility and peace as those she watched over rested until the sun peeked over the horizon once more.
She sometimes wished that her light would not interfere with such serenity.
But the world also saddened Mitsuri, she mourned as those she loved from afar returned to dust underneath grassy knolls; her heart broke as she witnessed fighting amongst nations and arguments amongst lovers. She knew that loving the world would bring grief upon her, because the world was infested with sin.
The world would never be perfect, yet she loved it anyways.
So Mitsuri spent her eternity by helping those who needed it – taking on a human form so others wouldn’t be afraid. She helped by working in food banks and soup kitchens – oh how she adored those humans who set such wonderful services up – and would afterwards walk along roads to give food to those who, for whatever reason, found such services inaccessible to them. She would volunteer in hospitals, helping the sick in whatever way she could, and would listen to their stories and offer comfort should they share their suffering with her, holding their hand in hers to offer support – however small.
It was not a coincidence, then, that she caught sight of you, a human lying alone in a darkened alleyway, isolated from the bustling street that was doused in sunlight. You were covered in shadows to the point where it looked like darkness emanated from your body itself, curled up and alone – hiding within the stench of garbage and discarded roadkill.
Mitsuri approached you – her kindness limitless and unbounded by fear as her light blessed your shadowed figure, gentle and warm – a light that was neither blinding nor dim as you looked up at her.
“Are you alright, my love? My name is Mitsuri, I saw you here and wanted to help,” she smiled sweetly. It didn’t matter what language you spoke, since Mitsuri’s words would translate perfectly once they fell from her lips and graced your ears.
Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross.
Teary eyed, you smiled up at her, “Thank you, I didn’t think anyone would come, but you’re here now.” Mitsuri’s gentle eyes looked over your condition, a cut on your forehead which was seeping a dark red, and smudges of dirt all over your body.
“Oh, love, let me get you cleaned up a bit!” Mitsuri exclaimed as she secretly materialized some cotton pads, pretending to fish them out of her pocket. She wiped the blood that was dripping down your face, “I don’t have antiseptic wipes on me, would you wait here as I go get them from a convenience store?” You nodded, staring past her shoulder.
If Mitsuri knew any better, she would’ve thought you could see her wings.
Mitsuri rushed across the street and bought the antiseptic wipes, more cotton pads, and a couple bottles of water before running back to help you. She knelt beside you, and began cleaning up your face. “You know, you should take better care of yourself,” she smiled softly as she wet the cotton pads with water and began wiping away the smudges of dirt on your skin.
You said nothing, letting Mitsuri work on you. Once finished, she stood up and held out her hand, “Are you able to stand?” she asked.
You looked down at her hand and reached for it, slowly encasing it in yours, with your index finger pressing against the pulse in her wrist. A strange flush of warmth spread through Mitsuri’s arm and to her chest, causing a shiver to move up her spine. She shook her head, and helped you get up.
The warmth continued to spread and fester within her, and she couldn’t figure out why – you were human, or at least looked like you were.
You gave her a saccharine smile, “I appreciate your help, angel, but I have to get going – I’ll see you around, no?”
Mitsuri’s eyes widened at the pet name you let slip – you couldn’t possibly know what she was – it was a coincidence, that’s all.
She who trusts in her own heart is a fool,
But she who walks wisely will be delivered.
Still, it caught her off-guard, and if she wasn’t flustered before, she definitely was now, slightly panicking despite knowing that humans wouldn’t be able to see her wings, or halo for that matter.
Mitsuri stuttered, “Of course, I– see you around.”
Days passed, and Mitsuri started to believe you’d fallen off the face of the earth – completely unable to sense your presence or soul. Yet, the warmth she felt from holding your hand did not fade – rather, it worsened, beckoning her to drag her dainty fingers along her stomach and downwards.
She shook herself out of it, but the heat lingered and pooled between her legs, so much so that it started to drip down her inner thighs – yet she wouldn’t give in to the temptation, she couldn’t – it was against everything that she was taught, everything that she believed.
Or were the beliefs forced upon her?
It wasn’t until after forty days and forty nights that she sensed you once more. It was early morning, so early that the sun had not graced its rays upon the world quite yet. You sat underneath a lamppost, its artificial light illuminating the bench beneath you, but oddly failing to reflect off of your own soft skin.
“You’re not human, are you?”
You looked up at her, a glint of mischief in your eyes as you shook your head. Standing up, you walked towards her, causing Mitsuri to take a hesitant step back.
“Don’t be shy, angel, I don’t bite – not unless you beg for it.”
“I– I’m not begging,” Mitsuri muttered, as though she were trying to convince herself more than anything.
Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and she will flee from you.
You approached her once more, and she remained still. Taking her wrist in yours, you slowly graze your nails over the skin of her arm, tracing up and down as she spoke. Her cheeks were red, flushed hot with both the strange warmth that found its home within her soul and now the shame of actually seeking what she desired.
You both sat down on the bench, a shrub blooming with jasmine flowers alongside it – the rich scent flooding her senses as her eyes locked with yours.
Do not desire her beauty in your heart,
Nor let her capture you with her eyelids.
“Do you ever get tired of it?” you asked, fingers circling the pulse point on her wrist.
Mitsuri frowns, “What do you mean?” You take your other hand and place it on hers, tracing your thumb across her skin, sending butterflies into her stomach.
“I mean,” you started, “do you get tired of kindness? Of righteousness?” you questioned, “do you ever wish to know beyond those things?”
“Um…I–” she paused, swallowing thickly, “N-Not really?”
It was a lie, and you knew that.
“Oh, well that’s too bad,” you pouted before leaning in towards her, “because I could show you things you’ve never even felt before, angel.” You glanced up at her, and you could see her eyes pooling with the desire to accept.
“I– I really can’t, it would– it would be against my nature.” An excuse, but a truthful one. If she consented, she would be damning herself – condemning her soul to the farthest reaches of hell.
It was something unthinkable for a being like her.
“Hmm, but nature changes over time, does it not?” you questioned, “if I’m not mistaken, I can see the want in your eyes. You desire this change, yet you won’t grasp for it. Why?”
“You– you wouldn’t be able to understand,” she stuttered, retracting her hands from yours as she formed fists with them in her lap.
“Angel, I think I understand more than anyone else,” you smirked, "to me, you seem lost – you're falling, aren't you, angel?"
You got up from the bench, eyes flashing a brief red as you looked down at her – causing Mitsuri’s breath to catch in her throat.
For the lips of an adulteress drip honey
And smoother than oil is her speech;
But in the end she is bitter as wormwood,
Sharp as a two-edged sword.
Her feet go down to death,
Her steps take hold in the house of it.
“If you wish for more than the mundanity of your everlasting life, you know exactly how to find me,” you told her, and before Mitsuri could look up at you once more, you were gone.
Mitsuri knew that it was wrong, she knew that it would go against her vows, her duties, her entire purpose, and yet – she found herself walking past that same alleyway each day, only peering into it out of curiosity before collecting herself and continuing on her way.
Until the seventh day, when she decided to stop in front of the alley, the sun beaming down on her as she stood just outside of it, as though the lined buildings on either side created a threshold that she couldn’t bring herself to pass.
As Mitsuri peered into the shadows, she saw a figure stand up and walk towards her. She couldn’t look into the being’s soul – it was as though it didn’t have one at all. It approached her from the dark, and its silhouette depicted that of sharpened horns and a long tail which was pointed at the end.
“Have you made up your mind, angel?” you asked sweetly, extending your hand past the threshold for her to take, “I promise, you’ll love how it feels to let go.”
Mitsuri hesitated, but as she looked into your eyes, a fire ignited deep within her once more.
My child, if sinners entice you,
Do not consent.
It was all she needed to extend her own hand and place it in yours.
Shocks of electricity traveled up Mitsuri’s arm, much more intense than the warmth she felt before, it traveled deep into her gut, and her face flushed red as she was pulled into the shadows, fully enticed by you.
You pinned her against the wall, her back facing you. Her wings shuddered in excitement as you leaned in towards her ear, “I’m proud of you, angel,” you whispered, your breath hot against her ear, “I know how difficult it must’ve been to give in, I promise I’ll make it worth your while.” You grazed a finger along her left wing, nail lightly scraping against the feathers. She whimpered, her blush hot across her face as heat pooled in her stomach.
“I– I know you’re a–ah…” Mitsuri started, swallowing thickly before a soft moan escaped from her.
“A demon? Yes, angel, I am,” you chuckled, grabbing at her hair to pull her head back, “but I’m not here to hurt you, love, no, I’m here to make you sin.”
You turned her around and kissed her fervently, your lips sweet against hers. It felt euphoric, Mitsuri had never been kissed by anyone before – it was always said to open the doors to lust.
Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.
However, she melted into your kiss, malleable and pliable – eager to feel more of it, the fire inside her being nurtured and stoked as you continued to kiss her innocent lips. You licked at her, and bit down on her bottom lip before parting – a string of saliva connecting her lips to yours, binding her into damnation as she uttered her next words.
“Please, I need more.”
You smirked, and leaned in towards her neck, licking a long stripe with your tongue before kissing just below her earlobe, with Mitsuri letting out tiny mewls and gasps every so often. You traveled further down her neck towards her pulse point. You left marks deep in burgundy upon her as she moaned into your ear.
“I love the sounds you’re making, angel, make some more for me,” you purred, bringing your hand down towards her heat, pushing aside the white linen to rub your fingers along her entrance. “Oh, you’re so wet for me,” you cooed.
“Nngh, n-noo that- that’s dirty,” Mitsuri whined, and you smirked.
“Trust me, you’ll learn to love feeling this way.” Your breath was hot before putting her into yet another searing kiss. She whimpered, but kissed back, slowly accepting her growing addiction towards them.
You circled her clit with your finger, and she whined, face flushed as she tried grinding onto your hand.
“That’s it, angel, take what you need, such a good girl,” you encouraged her, rubbing her clit slightly faster as she ground into you, a blushing mess as she did so. Mitsuri’s moans got progressively louder, loving the sensations once unknown to her.
“Mmh–! I– I feel strange…like something’s building up in me!” she whined, “what– what’s happening–!?”
You kissed her once more, quieting her, “shhh, angel, that’s a good thing, just relax and let it build up, okay?” She moaned again, grinding harder into your hand as she obeyed your words.
“I– It’s gonna–! I’m gonna–!” Mitsuri’s eyes rolled back, letting out a strangled moan as she came all over your hand, juices gushing into your palm as she rode through her orgasm, her hips undulating until she couldn’t take it anymore – quickly becoming overstimulated from the feeling of pleasure coursing through her veins.
“Too– too much! Can’t– no more!” she cried, tears falling down her cheeks. You licked at each stray teardrop, the saltiness of it coating your tongue as you stopped your movements with your hand.
“Such a good girl for me, angel,” you praised, and she hid her face behind her hands in pure embarrassment. You took her by the wrists and held them down.
“Don’t hide your pretty face from me, I want to see every last bit of your pleasure.”
Mitsuri whined and asked “can you– can you do that again, please?” Her tone was so sweet, begging for more like a pathetic slut who has abandoned all of her morals.
However, you refused, “if you wish for more of that, you’ll have to please me, first.” Mitsuri looked at you, confused, before you shoved her down to her knees, her face in line with your hips – the pretty lingerie you were wearing disappearing in an instant before you took her by the hair and pulled her towards your weeping cunt. “Make me feel good, angel, and I might consider actually fucking you this time.”
Mitsuri’s eyes dropped from your face down to your pussy, admiring how sweet and juicy it looked.
When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, she took from its fruit and ate.
So, she went entirely off of her own instinct as she brought her mouth to your heat, before licking at the wetness of it with her tongue. The sweetness of it coating the inside of her mouth like syrup; Mitsuri had never even thought of committing such lewd acts before, but now that she’d gotten a taste, she couldn’t help herself.
She started off shy, with kitten licks and tentative kisses on your clit. She may not have experience in giving pleasure, but she was there in the beginning when humans, angels, and devils alike were all created in the same image, and so she knew the insides and outs of their bodies unlike any other.
Her tongue delved deeper into your cunt, licking up any juices that seeped out of it, earning soft groans and grunts from you as you pulled at her hair. She adored your taste – it was addictive, a taste that she would gladly sin for if it meant she could feast upon it for the eternity of her damnation.
Her lips pursed around your clit before sucking gently, your eyes rolling back as she looked up at you. She whimpered, wishing you’d make eye contact with her and tell her she was doing such a good job – instead only receiving a few strokes through her hair as you thrived off of the pleasure that her mouth was giving you. Her own cunt was weeping, the heat from her abdomen becoming unbearable as she continued licking you up with her tongue – so much so that she reached down between her legs with her fingers, but before she could provide herself even the slightest bit of relief, you yanked her by the hair.
“You think you can touch yourself without my permission? Think you’re allowed to make yourself feel good? No, angel. Only I am allowed to do that. Any and all pleasure you receive, any and all sin that you commit, will be caused by me – for my sake.” You leaned down closer to her, breath hot against her face, “do you understand me?”
Mitsuri nodded, only to wince as you gripped her hair tighter.
“Say it.”
“Yes, I– I understand,” Mitsuri spoke softly as she removed her hand from between her thighs.
“Good girl.”
You pulled Mitsuri up once more and, in an incredible display of flexibility, she raised her right leg so that it pointed up toward the sky, with you supporting her by holding her up by your hand.
“Hah– you’re no angel, are you? Angels don’t act this way, y’know– you’re just a pathetic little slut, a pleasure-seeking whore that can never get enough,” you panted, before mounting your foot against the wall so your cunt was flush against hers, grinding against her wet heat. You grabbed her by the jaw and forced her to look at you.
“What are you, hm? Tell me.”
“I– I–” she whined, “I’m– ‘m your slut…oh shit, ‘m your slut!”
“That’s right, you’re nothing but a stupid cumslut, aren’t you? Raised to be holy and perfect, but look at you, drunk on lust all because some demon tempted you. How pathetic.”
Mitsuri whined as you ground into her, feeling absolutely no shame as she condemned herself further with each movement of your hips. The familiar tension in her gut started to build up once more as she took everything you gave her.
“Nngh– it- it’s happening a-ah– again!” she moaned, and you ground against her faster.
“That’s it, slut, cum all over my cunt. Sin for me.”
Mitsuri’s thighs trembled as her orgasm flooded through her in waves, her mind addled with euphoria and lust as her pussy gushed all over you, her moans so raw and unbridled as she allowed you to claim her as yours, knowing she will never find pleasure like this through anything or anyone except you.
You are my God, and I give thanks to You;
You are my God, I extol You.
“My– my God,” she panted, “you– you are my God.” She knew it was blasphemous, yet she didn’t care, for she found a new being to worship, to love and to praise as she damned herself for the rest of eternity, certain that she would choose this over holiness in every lifetime if given the honor to do so.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
Amen.

"Dead are my people, gone are my people, but I exist yet, lamenting them in my solitude. Dead are my friends, and in their death my life is naught but great disaster. The knolls of my country are submerged by tears and blood, for my people and my beloved are gone, and I am here living as I did when my people and my beloved were enjoying life and the bounty of life, and when the hills of my country were blessed and engulfed by the light of the sun. My people died from hunger, and he who did not perish from starvation was butchered with the sword; and I am here in this distant land, roaming amongst a joyful people who sleep upon soft beds, and smile at the days while the days smile upon them. My people died a painful and shameful death, and here am I living in plenty and in peace. This is deep tragedy ever enacted upon the stage of my heart; few would care to witness this drama, for my people are as birds with broken wings, left behind the flock. If I were hungry and living amid my famished people, and persecuted among my oppressed countrymen, the burden of the black days would be lighter upon my restless dreams, and the obscurity of the night would be less dark before my hollow eyes and my crying heart and my wounded soul. For he who shares with his people their sorrow and agony will feel a supreme comfort created only by suffering in sacrifice. And he will be at peace with himself when he dies innocent with his fellow innocents. But I am not living with my hungry and persecuted people who are walking in the procession of death toward martyrdom. I am here beyond the broad seas living in the shadow of tranquillity, and in the sunshine of peace. I am afar from the pitiful arena and the distressed, and cannot be proud of ought, not even of my own tears. What can an exiled son do for his starving people, and of what value unto them is the lamentation of an absent poet?
Were I an ear of corn grown in the earth of my country, the hungry child would pluck me and remove with my kernels the hand of Death form his soul. Were I a ripe fruit in the gardens of my country, the starving women would gather me and sustain life. Were I a bird flying the sky of my country, my hungry brother would hunt me and remove with the flesh of my body the shadow of the grave from his body. But, alas! I am not an ear of corn grown in the plains of Syria, nor a ripe fruit in the valleys of Lebanon; this is my disaster, and this is my mute calamity which brings humiliation before my soul and before the phantoms of the night. This is the painful tragedy which tightens my tongue and pinions my arms and arrests me usurped of power and of will and of action. This is the curse burned upon my forehead before God and man.
And oftentimes they say unto me, the disaster of your country is but naught to calamity of the world, and the tears and blood shed by your people are as nothing to the rivers of blood and tears pouring each day and night in the valleys and plains of the earth. Yes, but the death of my people is a silent accusation; it is a crime conceived by the heads of the unseen serpents. It is a sceneless tragedy. And if my people had attacked the despots and oppressors and died rebels, I would have said, 'Dying for freedom is nobler than living in the shadow of weak submission, for he who embraces death with the sword of Truth in his hand will eternalize with the Eternity of Truth, for Life is weaker than Death and Death is weaker than Truth.' If my nation had partaken in the war of all nations and had died in the field of battle, I would say that the raging tempest had broken with its might the green branches; and strong death under the canopy of the tempest is nobler than slow perishment in the arms of senility. But there was no rescue from the closing jaws. My people dropped and wept with the crying angels. If an earthquake had torn my country asunder and the earth had engulfed my people into its bosom, I would have said, 'A great and mysterious law has been moved by the will of divine force, and it would be pure madness if we frail mortals endeavoured to probe its deep secrets.' But my people did not die as rebels; they were not killed in the field of battle; nor did the earthquake shatter my country and subdue them. Death was their only rescuer, and starvation their only spoils.
My people died on the cross. They died while their hands stretched toward the East and West, while the remnants of their eyes stared at the blackness of the firmament. They died silently, for humanity had closed its ears to their cry. They died because they did not befriend their enemy. They died because they loved their neighbours. They died because they placed trust in all humanity. They died because they did not oppress the oppressors. They died because they were the crushed flowers, and not the crushing feet. They died because they were peace makers. They perished from hunger in a land rich with milk and honey. They died because monsters of hell arose and destroyed all that their fields grew, and devoured the last provisions in their bins. They died because the vipers and sons of vipers spat out poison into the space where the Holy Cedars and the roses and the jasmine breathe their fragrance. My people and your people, my Syrian Brothers, are dead. What can be done for those who are dying? Our lamentations will not satisfy their hunger, and our tears will not quench their thirst; what can we do to save them between the iron paws of hunger? My brother, the kindness which compels you to give a part of your life to any human who is in the shadow of losing his life is the only virtue which makes you worthy of the light of day and the peace of the night. Remember, my brother, that the coin which you drop into the withered hand stretching toward you is the only golden chain that binds your rich heart to the loving heart of God."
Gibran Khalil Gibran, "Dead Are My People," written during the Great Famine of Mount Lebanon, in which 200,000 people were starved to death by a blockade imposed by European forces to weaken their Ottoman opponents in World War I. The man-made famine killed one in three people in Beirut and the surrounding Mount Lebanon Mutasarrifate (which encompassed today's North, Keserwan-Jbeil, and Mount Lebanon governorates). This peasant population was strangled by threefold oppression: from the European imperialist war machine, Ottoman Turkish imperial oversight, and the local capitalist class. The boom and bust of the global silk industry, monopolized by France, destroyed Mount Lebanon's silk-centered economy shortly before the war, leaving the population impoverished and vulnerable. The famine was key to the European victory which led to the occupation and partition of the Levant and enabled the colonization of Palestine. The partition placed Lebanon under French control, fulfilling a longstanding French colonial desire for Lebanese land and labor.

You wonder if you've ever taken the time to watch the sky: white and wanton brushstrokes, colouring the curve of the earth, green sinking into blue.
(Sink you will, into this familiar shape, bowed, curl of her smile, crescent of each embrace. You think of softer thoughts and it shocks you like static, that flinch in the pit of your smouldering heart. You didn't believe in making peace with it. Now you can't remember the war.)
Sink you will, into the soft grassy knolls of the isle, the cliff you find yourself standing on, surrounded by dandelions sprinkled like the land reflecting the stars. You had believed that once, stalwart in your stance, that something so dull could appear so bright in the right company, with the right promise. And you had thought it would last. But as with the dirt beneath your feet, everything returns to dust, and only the ocean could ever come close to mirroring the sky. Deep in your mind, you know you shouldn't have tried to become anything other than what you are: a boulder to step on, stone pillar of regret.
The nature of the isle is blustery and remote. Sanctuary claimed in the aftermath of loss: a cottage by the ocean, she had insisted, for reasons you may never fully understand.
Gusts of wind whip through your hair and your clothes, embedding you in seasalt and the sounds of gulls high above. They soar so freely as you watch, dipping and hovering just out of reach, wings expanded like parachutes to carry them away at a moment's notice. How you've never envied that more.
Hours pass by and you come to lay down entirely. It's simply you and billowing grass tickling at your sides. You and the greying horizon, the incoming storm from across the sea. You and your thoughts and your grief and your newfound joy. Concentrate on what you've held onto with bleeding fists. Concentrate on the present, not the absent; on the catch, not the fall.
Heavy eyelids close to the first raindrops against your skin. They slip down your cheeks, icy beads to join a single crystal tear.
“I knew I'd find you here.”
Ah. The gulls dissipate. The waves pause. Your heart freezes in distant panic.
Above you appears a bright yellow umbrella. And peering down—is Muelsyse. Your pulse settles at the scent of autumn flowers, settles like a great descent, a coming home.
“Hey.” Your voice is hoarse but you smile faintly at her. You don't move.
She crouches down, spinning the umbrella absently in her grip like a watery halo, angel of your heavy heart. She speaks casually, even if you both know the moment is not. “What are you doing out in the rain?”
You allow her to brush your damp cheek, and you know she can tell from just a touch that one particular droplet did not originate from the sky. Her expression stirs, then softens. She runs her thumb beneath your eye, then raises it to her lips.
“I was resting,” you say, watching each motion, content to keep your whole weight upon the earth, where the only view is her and beyond.
“I hope so,” Muelsyse replies. She slides her tongue over her thumb before bending down to kiss you.
It's salty.
“You've needed this for a long time,” she says, tender in your ear. She combs through your hair with one hand as the other releases its grip on the umbrella. It falls to the ground and the sky opens up. Pouring, pelting, soaking. She joins you, drops into your arms, into the green of steady bounds, and buries deep into your shoulder. Still, you don't move other than to pull her close.
Soon, the storm becomes a soothing rhythm, an icy thrum against your skin. You allow another droplet to escape the corner of your eye, then another, and another, until they run rapids down your face, merging into rivers that you hope will drown your sorrow.
You remain as still as you can, as quiet as you can. The only disturbances come from the shuddering of your lungs, and even these sounds are swept away by the wind.
Muelsyse doesn't speak, only holds onto your shirt for dear life. It seems like you would both fall from some unknown precipice should she let go. So she doesn't. Couldn't. And she whispers just above the storm, something that makes the planet halt its spinning.
“I miss her, too.”
You know now that this ache inside may never truly leave.

* Fly To You by @babyhoneyheslt [G, 1k, Louis/Harry]
On the way to their honeymoon, Harry and Louis find out the pilot is ill. With Louis being a pilot, he offers to fly the plane there, and it turns out to make the start of their honeymoon extra special.
* Forgotten Kingdom by @babyhoneyheslt [G, 2k, Harry/Louis]
Louis had always loved ruined cities and had always been obsessed with Glyswing Kingdom, a city that many believed to be a myth. Moving into his grandparents house for renovations, he never expected to find what could be the long forgotten kingdom. Part 1 of The Secret City
*Castles Crumbling Down by @babyhoneyheslt [G, 1k, Louis/Harry]
With Harry freed, the kingdom crumbled down around them, prompting a quick escape. Part 2 of The Secret City
* The Tower by @babyhoneyheslt [G, 4k, Harry/Louis]
There's something strange going on in Heaven.
Bored Angel Harry can't help but investigate. Part 1 of Devil’s In The Detail
* The Fool by @babyhoneyheslt [G, 4k, Louis/Harry]
After making a deal with the devil, Harry has to forge a new life for himself alongside Louis on Earth. Part 2 of Devil’s In The Detail
* The Devil by @babyhoneyheslt [M, 3k, Harry/Louis]
Harry has grown to love being on earth, but his absence in heaven and the company he keeps, hasn't gone unnoticed. Part 3 of Devil’s In The Detail
* Cold Spring by @nouies [E, 8k, Louis/Pedro Pascal]
Life went on as normal at Cold Spring Café. Sam’s scribbles remained indiscernible, Jake persisted on his idea of getting more pots for the shop, and Pedro…Pedro continued coming to drink his moderately-caffeinated americano, to write furiously in that notebook of his, and to captivate Louis to no end.
or…Louis is a coffee shop owner and Pedro is his newest customer.
* Lips so good I forget my name by @enchantedlandcoffee [E, 828 words, Louis/Harry]
Harry hummed in contemplation as he moved to palm himself through his briefs, "Do you think you've deserved it, Lou? Hmm?" At Louis' sound of protest, Harry swiftly moved the microphone back to the older man's mouth causing him to moan as he wrapped his lips around it again. "Because I don't think you have. I think you love your microphone too much to suck on anything else." Harry's words elicited a moan from Louis as his hips bucked up instinctively.
Or Louis needs to give up control in the bedroom sometimes, until he doesn't.
* Tied Up Like Two Ships by @enchantedlandcoffee [T, 2k, Harry/Louis]
"His crew boarded our ship and took a few of us hostage. Um, myself, Liam, Louis, Tabby, and a few others. Then they- uh- they, um…"
"They started stealing our most valuable possessions on board: heirlooms, jewels, weapons. And then," Zayn continued on from Liam, "then the cannons started. The first shot hit the side closest to the berth, where most of the crew were sleeping, and the second was aimed directly at the Captain’s Quarters. We- uh, we lost fifteen of the crew then, and then, uh, then ten shortly after."
OR Captain Styles wakes up to find his rival and old friend, Captain Tomlinson, aboard his ship. Part 1 of You Make Me Strong
* two languages, one love by @nouies [NR, 3k, Louis/Cillian Murphy]
The three times Louis speaks to Cillian in Spanish, and the one time he finally gets a response.
* a cycle of recycled revenge by brokenbeaks / @broken-beaks [E, 103k, Harry/Louis]
Foxburgh, England, 1983.
In the heat of summer, wreathed by pastures, rolling knolls, and thatched-roof cottages, Louis takes on a new job: caretaking for a recently blinded man named Harry. As it begins, what seems like a simple task turns into a quest that costs him every last bit of his pride and tolerance. Harry is, in practice, a two-legged curse. And Louis is just gonna have to put up with it.
Or: The one where Harry likes to infuriate Louis almost as much as he enjoys straddling his lap.
* the blue never-ending sky by @justanothershadeofblue [T, 3k, Louis/Harry]
“What do you suppose it’s like?”
Harry’s voice was dreamy, barely audible from where Louis lay on his back on the off-white carpet of Harry’s bedroom.
“Arizona?” Louis asked, and Harry made an affirmative noise from his position on top of his twin bed. “Wouldn’t know, would I?” Louis jerked his head at the window, dripping with mid-February rain. It was a useless gesture - Harry was busy staring at the ceiling. “On account of being British and all.”
“I bet it’s beautiful,” Harry said, and his voice sounded like he was already gone.
* all of my demons are wallflowers watching us by LiveLaughLoveLarry / @loveislarryislove [E, 3k, Harry/Louis]
Harry slides his hands into his pockets, feeling the comforting padding of the thick diaper he’s wearing under his jeans. He’s avoided haunted houses for years; his weak bladder and nervous disposition meaning that they often resulted in mortification. But since he started dating Louis – and since they discovered that Louis actually quite enjoys his weak bladder – well. Some of the calculus has changed.
* The Freak called ‘Jezebel’ by sweetkalachuchi / @neverforpickles [M, 8k, Louis/Harry]
“Zayn!” Harry said the moment he got inside the room, his voice loud and clear as it touched the four walls of the room. His voice bellowing and ricocheting on their own without Harry raising his voice.
Without hesitation, from where he’s sat in the sole incredibly detailed piece of architecture in the whole room, Harry calmly said, “I am going for a vacation.”
Or, the Devil decided to go for a vacation and met his soulmate instead.
* could start a cult by @nouies [E, 8k, Harry/Louis]
He lowers down the top that Louis is wearing, successfully unclasping his nursing bra as well, letting Louis’ tits bounce at the sudden movement. Harry massages both breasts to stimulate the milk flow, and he can feel his cock hardening inside his pants.
or...Harry can’t get enough of Louis’ breast milk.
* I Want Adventure In The Great Wide Somewhere by @rockstarlwt28 [G, Louis/Harry]
Harry surprises Louis with a little Age Regression gift in support of his gender fluidity.
* Wearing You Like Clothes by LetTheMusicMoveYou / @letthemusicmoveyou28 [E, 5k, Harry/Louis]
Louis rushes over to his door and hopes against hope that maybe he got lucky and it didn’t lock this time. He jiggles the handle, but no dice.
Louis groans. Great, so he’s locked out and it’s after hours so his landlord will be difficult to reach. He does have a spare key, but it’s with his best mate Niall, who is conveniently out of town this weekend.
And it’s not like Louis can go anywhere to ask for help.
Not when he’s only wearing knickers.
(Or the one where Omega Louis accidentally locks himself out of his flat in only his underwear. Embarrassingly help comes in the form of Harry, the beautiful Alpha that lives down the hall. It turns out alright in the end).

In Dreams Chapter 1 (Hook X Older Female Reader)
Tumblr media
Title: In Dreams Pairing: Hook X Older Female Reader Summary: Hook meets the woman of his dreams. Literally. The only problem? She is married in actuality. And her marriage is not the happy one she tries to portray in reality. Not to mention Y/N has a secret she failed to reveal in their shared dreams.  Can Hook persuade her to leave her husband and seek the safety of his love instead?
Disclaimers: I own nothing or anyone associated or affiliated with AEW. I own only the original
characters. This is just a fictional story that came from my imagination.

In Dreams
You opened your eyes and took a look at your surroundings, absolutely in awe. A beautiful wooded area stood before you. It was the most breathtaking, ethereal forest you’d ever seen. It was vivid green with trees everywhere, and flowers all over the place. You walked a ways and found yourself on a grassy knoll. Reaching down, you plucked a yellow wildflower from the grass and brought it to your nose. The smell was the sweetest smell you’d ever experienced.
“I’m in a dream,” you realized aloud. “But it’s the most beautiful dream ever!”
Briefly, you wondered if you’d passed away in your sleep–that you were in heaven.
“But if that’s the case, where is Jesus? Where is everyone else? My family that’s died before me, my pets?”
“Do you always talk to yourself?”
You spun around and discovered you were being watched. By a man.
A very handsome man. He was leaning against a huge tree, his legs crossed at the ankle and arms crossed in front of him. His dark eyes trailed over you, head to foot and back up to your face. His bushy, dirty blonde curls brushed over his eyebrow and you fought the urge to go up to him, move his hair out of his face so you could get a better look at him.
He wore a white tank top and gray sweat pants that hung low on his slim, sculpted hips.
“I…I…” You stammered softly. “I thought I was alone in my dream. Who are you?”
“What are you talking about,” came his reply, his handsome face growing confused. “This is my dream. Who are you?”
You shook your head, “I’m Y/N. Y/N Last/N. But… I’m dreaming too. I’m real. You’re the one who’s in my dream. Unless….” You continued to yourself, “Maybe we’re sharing a dream.”
“We can’t be sharing a dream,” the man said. “That’s not possible.”
“What if it is,” you said, astonished. “If you swear you’re real, and I swear I’m real….”
“People don’t share dreams.”
“Well, what do you think is happening?”
He shrugged, and smirked. “I think you’re in my dream and I’m about to take advantage of that fact.”
“What are you talking about? And what’s your name?”
He moved closer to you. “Tyler Senerchia. But most people call me Hook.”
“It’s… nice to meet you, Hook.” You held out your hand for him to shake, and he did take your hand in his. But to your surprise, he turned it slightly and brought it to his lips, brushing them softly over the back of your hand.
“Wh-what was that for,” you asked, gently tugging your hand back. He was being somewhat forward. And while you weren’t happily married, you were married nonetheless.
Not to mention… you had a daughter.
“I told you. I’m taking advantage of this dream. I don’t dream about beautiful angels… well, ever…. So I’m going to kiss you. And enjoy it–immensely.”
You felt your face flush as you looked down. An instant later, Hook’s fingers were tilting your chin back so you were looking him in the eye. “Don’t get shy on me,” he chuckled.
“I-I…” you floundered for your words. “I find you to be very handsome, Hook. But… we can’t… I-I…”
His face moved closer to yours and his eyes dimmed to an even darker shade. “I always get what I want.  And right now, I really want to kiss a beautiful woman.  So you’d better have an exceptionally good reason why I can’t or shouldn’t.”
“I’m married,” you said immediately, taking a step back.
Which did no good. He only stepped up to you again, and pulled you into his arms–squeezing a sharp exhale from you.
His eyes scanned your face, slid down to your mouth, then back up to your eyes. “Not near good enough, sweetheart.”
With that, his head lowered to yours…
}i{}i{}i{}i{}i{
You were jarred awake by a sudden pain to your stomach.
You came to just as your body fell from the bed to the floor.
“Quit talking in your sleep, or go sleep on the sofa!”
Dazed, you shook your head lightly, and instantly realized your husband had literally kicked you out of the bed. You held your midsection where his kick had landed, and you massaged at your ribs to see if any were broken.
Luckily, not this time.
Gingerly, you lifted yourself to your feet and grabbed your pillow. Seeing as you couldn’t promise not to talk in your sleep again, you were indeed sleeping on the sofa. Uncomfortable as it was going to be. You’d be exhausted the next day.
Heading for the stairs, you took that moment to peek in at your three-month-old daughter Sienna, to make sure the commotion had not woke her. You breathed a sigh of relief when you found her to be sound asleep.
“Thank goodness,” you whispered softly. You were terrified of what would happen when your daughter grew older and she saw the abuse you took from her father. You had no idea what to do.
You were forced to keep the abuse quiet. The first time Derek hit you, you went to a lawyer to file for divorce. But that ended quickly when he gave you another beating for that “stunt”, as he called it. He made it clear he’d kill you if you tried it again.
And you believed him.
You headed down the stairs to the living room and laid down the best you could on the loveseat that you called a sofa. You needed to upgrade to an actual sofa but you couldn’t afford to at the moment.
You scoffed at the thought. “When will we ever be able to afford one?”
Derek was a lowlife. You knew that now. He lived off meager unemployment simply because he could, and kept the money for himself, to boot. While you worked two jobs trying to make ends meet for him and your daughter. You stayed exhausted and usually, in the fall and winter months, sick along with it thanks to the drafty old house you lived in.
It didn’t used to be this way. Derek had seemed like a good man at one time. He didn’t have a lot of money but that honestly didn’t matter to you. You fell in love with him whole-heartedly at one time.
At one time.
The first time he hit you was while you were pregnant. In fact, it was right after you told him about the baby. He was trying to cause you to miscarry, you knew that now. But by the grace of God, your baby had survived and lived to see delivery.
How long would it be before Derek started hitting Sienna?
It wasn’t the first time the little voice in your mind had asked that question.
“What’ll I do?” You wondered aloud quietly. “I can’t let him hurt her. I’ll have to find a way to leave before it gets to that point.”
But still… The idea terrified you. You could make it on your own, you knew you could. You’d been doing it after all. But… you had no doubt that Derek absolutely had the nerve to kill you if you tried to leave again.
And then where would Sienna be?
You tried to fight off the beginnings of a panic attack, but failed.
You laid huddled up on the loveseat, crying. Crying in fear. In anger. In frustration.
If only…
If only Hook from your dream had been real. He seemed like the type of man that wouldn’t put up with that kind of treatment toward the opposite sex.
You rolled your eyes then. Like some dream man was coming to your rescue.
Angry at yourself, you scrunched into the fetal position and cried yourself to sleep till you awoke only a couple hours later to the sound of Sienna’s cries.
She was hungry. You were sure of it.
Sleepily, you stood to your feet and headed to the kitchen, where you started a bottle for her.
WIthin minutes, you had the bottle heated and were walking up the stairs to the nursery. The closer you got to the nursery the louder SIenna’s cries seemed.
“Hi, little baby,” you said softly in greeting, gently lifting up your baby girl and putting the bottle to her lips.  She immediately took it in and began drinking. A soft coo passed her lips as she drank the formula.
“That’s my girl,” you whispered, stroking your thumb along her side. Tears burned your eyes again as you looked down at your baby. “I will never let him hurt you. I promise.”
Sniffling, you put the sleepy baby back into her crip once she’d finished her bottle. Then you were heading back downstairs to get ready for your day, while loud snores came from your bedroom.
}i{}i{}i{}i{}i{
Hook scanned the bewildered look on Y/N’s pretty face and let his gaze fall back to her mouth.
“Not near good enough, sweetheart.”
He leaned forward and prepared to kiss her, closing his eyes. But after a moment of no human contact, he opened his eyes and found that he was in his hotel room, laying in the bed on his back.
“Ah, man,” he groaned, flopping onto his side. “What kind of dream was that,” he wondered aloud. “I never have dreams like that.”
That’s what he said out loud, but not what he really thought. What he thought was that he’d just met an angel and was already head over heels in love with her.
While he inwardly tried to brush off the dream, it was sticking with him. THe woman had been absolutely stunning. Not typically the type of woman he was attracted to, but for some reason this one was haunting him.
Stretching, he decided to get up and hit the gym.
“Nothing like a good workout to make me forget about it.”
He stood to his feet and pulled on a pair of sweatpants over his boxers and his white tank top along with them. Then he had his sneakers on in record time and was headed to the elevator.
Once he entered the gym, he headed straight for the punching bag to release some of the pent up frustration he was feeling from his dream. He unleashed some punches and worked on his foot-work at the same time. For the next fifteen minutes he worked the punching bag over. Big time.  Then he was headed for the weight bench, and began bench pressing. From there he did pull ups. He was a man possessed. The dream had really gotten to him. And no matter what he did–or how much he did–it wasn’t enough to erase the woman’s face from his mind.
Huffing and puffing he sat down on a bench and fought to catch his breath.
“All that work and I still can’t get her out of my mind,” he scoffed to himself. He shook his head and indulged himself in another thought about her.
Her eyes… They were haunted, but beautiful.
“There’s beauty in sadness.” La bellezza nella tristezza, he thought. The saying fit the woman to a T. He wondered if he’d dream of her again. He hoped so.
Then he felt silly.  She was just some figment of his imagination. What did it matter if he dreamed of her again or not?
He sighed and got back to his exercise.
}i{}i{}i{}i{}i{
“Please, stop Derek! You’re scaring the baby!”
“All you have to do when you get off work is fix a freaking meal! How in the world did you screw up frozen dinners?!” Derek’s green eyes flashed menacingly as he berated you.
“I just microwaved it a bit too long, that’s all,” you insisted gently, jostling the baby in your arms to settle her. “Just calm down. Sienna is crying already.”
“I DON’T CARE ABOUT THAT LITTLE BRAT!”
SMACK!
You felt the blooming fire coast up your face as you fell to the floor. You immediately shifted your weight so you were the one to take the hard impact to the linoleum. Your ears rang but you could still hear Sienna’s frantic scream-cries.
“Don’t you ever talk back to me!”
Sienna was taken from your arms and you groaned softly, managing to climb to your feet as quickly as you were able.  “No! Put her down!”
Oh my God this is it, you thought, nausea roiling in your stomach. He’s not even going to wait for her to be toddling around before he hurts her!
“If you weren’t so concerned with her you’d be able to put a proper meal on the table!”
Distraught ,you shook your head. “No, Derek! Give her to me!”
You frantically followed him into the living room where he plunked Sienna down into her downstairs crib. The baby cried and screamed with fresh vigor.
You flew at him and pounded his back with your fists. “Don’t touch her!”
You were backhanded for your troubles. You fell to the floor again and had no time to recover as Derek wrapped his hands around your neck and squeezed. Hard. “Don’t you ever…. EVER… HIT ME AGAIN!!”
You tried to gasp in some air but Derek’s hold was too tight. You clawed at his hands, trying to free yourself but he was simply too strong for you. Lack of air was becoming an issue. You felt your grip slipping from his hands. Everything was blurring before your eyes. You grew so sleepy. Your eyes closed as you heard Derek growl, “Night night.”
You opened your eyes and you were in the beautiful forest once again, lying in the plush grass. But the need to breathe was still there. You knew, you just knew that Derek was still choking you in the real world.
“H-help…” you whispered in desperation, clutching at your throat.
“Y/N?”
Tears streamed down your cheeks and you had no idea if it was because of the relief at hearing Hook’s voice, or from the pressure building in your head and eyes.
“Y/N!!”
You heard him shout your name this time, and then the thundering of feet hitting the ground. He was at a full on run, coming to your aid.
“What is it??” He demanded, dropping to his knees by your side. “Y/N, what’s wrong??”
“C-can’t…. Breathe……” You choked out.
“Why not??” He gently but quickly pulled your torso onto his lap and smoothed your hair back from off your face. “What’s happening to you, Y/N?”
You saw Hook fade before your eyes and briefly you saw Derek in his place, his hands still wrapped around your throat. Your eyes rolled back in your head and suddenly you were back with Hook.
“Y/N!! What can I do??”
Another tear spilled from your eye as you gasped and choked on seemingly nothing.
And suddenly, out of nowhere, Derek must have released you because air invaded your lungs. You turned onto your side and coughed hard, gasping in as much air as you could manage.
“Y/N, please tell me what just happened!”
“I…” You took another deep breath and turned in Hook’s lap so you could face him. “I…” You didn’t know what to say. You couldn’t tell him about your husband hurting you. That was too humiliating. “I was…choking. On… on some gum.” You felt so stupid but you couldn’t let him know what really happened.
“Are you okay now?”
You nodded. “Y-yeah.”
“You can breathe now?”
“Yes.”
“But you’re still here…” You glanced up at him and could see his gears turning in his mind. “So…” His eyes lit up. “You’re unconscious. I have to get to you. Where are you outside this dream?”
You felt the blood drain from your face. You couldn’t let him see the way you live. You couldn’t bear seeing the pity on his face. Or the disgust.
“I’m fine, Hook. I’m breathing now. I’m fine.”
Before you could say anything else, you were awakened by cold, wetness all over your face and chest.
You gasped and rolled onto your side. You could still hear Sienna crying from the crib.
“That’ll teach you to pass out when I’m teaching you a lesson!” Derek shouted, a pot in his hands. He’d evidently doused you with cold water. You’d be lucky if you didn’t get yet another cold.
Shakily, you lifted yourself to your knees.
In the next instant, Derek had hold of your face, gripping it hard in his hand. “Remember that time you tried to divorce me–to leave me?”
Tears of pure fear burned your eyes and one trickled down your cheek. You nodded in his hand.
“Remember what I told you? You do it again… I’ll kill you. And the little brat. I know what to do with a body. No one would ever find you. EVER.”
He released you and you crumpled to the floor again as he left the room, sobbing in horror.
If you want on my tag list just ask! 😀

"Gone are my people, but I exist yet,
Lamenting them in my solitude...
Dead are my friends, and in their Death my life is naught but great
Disaster.
The knolls of my country are submerged
By tears and blood, for my people and
My beloved are gone, and I am here
Living as I did when my people and my
Beloved were enjoying life and the
Bounty of life, and when the hills of
My country were blessed and engulfed
By the light of the sun.
My people died from hunger, and he who
Did not perish from starvation was
Butchered with the sword; and I am
Here in this distant land, roaming
Amongst a joyful people who sleep
Upon soft beds, and smile at the days
While the days smile upon them.
My people died a painful and shameful
Death, and here am I living in plenty
And in peace...This is deep tragedy
Ever-enacted upon the stage of my
Heart; few would care to witness this
Drama, for my people are as birds with
Broken wings, left behind the flock.
If I were hungry and living amid my
Famished people, and persecuted among
My oppressed countrymen, the burden
Of the black days would be lighter
Upon my restless dreams, and the
Obscurity of the night would be less
Dark before my hollow eyes and my
Crying heart and my wounded soul.
For he who shares with his people
Their sorrow and agony will feel a
Supreme comfort created only by
Suffering in sacrifice. And he will
Be at peace with himself when he dies
Innocent with his fellow innocents.
But I am not living with my hungry
And persecuted people who are walking
In the procession of death toward
Martyrdom...I am here beyond the
Broad seas living in the shadow of
Tranquillity, and in the sunshine of
Peace...I am afar from the pitiful
Arena and the distressed, and cannot
Be proud of ought, not even of my own
Tears.
What can an exiled son do for his
Starving people, and of what value
Unto them is the lamentation of an
Absent poet?
Were I an ear of corn grown in the earth
of my country, the hungry child would
Pluck me and remove with my kernels
The hand of Death form his soul. Were
I a ripe fruit in the gardens of my
Country, the starving women would
Gather me and sustain life. Were I
A bird flying the sky of my country,
My hungry brother would hunt me and
Remove with the flesh of my body the
Shadow of the grave from his body.
But, alas! I am not an ear of corn
Grown in the plains of Syria, nor a
Ripe fruit in the valleys of Lebanon;
This is my disaster, and this is my
Mute calamity which brings humiliation
Before my soul and before the phantoms
Of the night...This is the painful
Tragedy which tightens my tongue and
Pinions my arms and arrests me usurped
Of power and of will and of action.
This is the curse burned upon my
Forehead before God and man.
And oftentimes they say unto me,
'The disaster of your country is
But naught to calamity of the
World, and the tears and blood shed
By your people are as nothing to
The rivers of blood and tears
Pouring each day and night in the
Valleys and plains of the earth...'
Yes, but the death of my people is
A silent accusation; it is a crime
Conceived by the heads of the unseen serpents...
It is a Sceneless tragedy...And if my
People had attacked the despots
And oppressors and died rebels,
I would have said, 'Dying for
Freedom is nobler than living in
The shadow of weak submission, for
He who embraces death with the sword
Of Truth in his hand will eternalize
With the Eternity of Truth, for Life
Is weaker than Death and Death is
Weaker than Truth.
If my nation had partaken in the war
Of all nations and had died in the
Field of battle, I would say that
The raging tempest had broken with
Its might the green branches; and
Strong death under the canopy of
The tempest is nobler than slow
Perishment in the arms of senility.
But there was no rescue from the
Closing jaws...My people dropped
And wept with the crying angels.
If an earthquake had torn my
Country asunder and the earth had
Engulfed my people into its bosom,
I would have said, 'A great and
Mysterious law has been moved by
The will of divine force, and it
Would be pure madness if we frail
Mortals endeavoured to probe its
Deep secrets...'
But my people did not die as rebels;
They were not killed in the field
Of Battle; nor did the earthquake
Shatter my country and subdue them.
Death was their only rescuer, and
Starvation their only spoils.
My people died on the cross....
They died while their hands
stretched toward the East and West,
While the remnants of their eyes
Stared at the blackness of the
Firmament...They died silently,
For humanity had closed its ears
To their cry. They died because
They did not befriend their enemy.
They died because they loved their
Neighbours. They died because
They placed trust in all humanity.
They died because they did not
Oppress the oppressors. They died
Because they were the crushed
Flowers, and not the crushing feet.
They died because they were peace
Makers. They perished from hunger
In a land rich with milk and honey.
They died because monsters of
Hell arose and destroyed all that
Their fields grew, and devoured the
Last provisions in their bins....
They died because the vipers and
Sons of vipers spat out poison into
The space where the Holy Cedars and
The roses and the jasmine breathe
Their fragrance.
My people and your people, my Syrian
Brother, are dead....What can be
Done for those who are dying? Our
Lamentations will not satisfy their
Hunger, and our tears will not quench
Their thirst; what can we do to save
Them between the iron paws of
Hunger? My brother, the kindness
Which compels you to give a part of
Your life to any human who is in the
Shadow of losing his life is the only
Virtue which makes you worthy of the
Light of day and the peace of the
Night....Remember, my brother,
That the coin which you drop into
The withered hand stretching toward
You is the only golden chain that
Binds your rich heart to the
Loving heart of God....."
"Dead are My People," Kahlil Gibran, written in response to the Great Famine of Lebanon in 1916.

The Soulmate Curse: Chapter 5
Tumblr media
The chapter name is Capture the Stag. Hah. Well Lucifer is scheming. The Raunchy Reindeers are at it. Alastor is...interesting during this chapter. I love these two cuties so much.
Again! Sorry it took so long! I banged out the last two thousand words in one go! Its a bit long but I hope it makes up for the wait!
The Hazbin Hotel’s lights twinkled in the distance despite being devoid of life. Life thrived behind it, in the twisting forest of her father’s game. The crimson moon washed the grassy knoll red. It was beautiful grazing its moonbeams along the leaves dancing with crimson, the animals skittering around with it as their guide and most of all the two who stood in the clearing.
The Raunchy Reindeers stood, one glowering and one eternally smiling up at a gnarled tree. “Hmm…here is perfect,” Charlie said as she twirled the crimson flag in her hands.
“No, it's far too obvious,” Alastor remarked. A certain cold calculation was in his eyes as he raked over the clearing.
A sigh slipped out of Charlie, and she spun around in her game dress to Alastor. She glared up at him, “You’ve said no to every spot I have picked.”
Alastor peered up at the tree, running his long fingers on the withering bark. “Well,” he gave her a sharp look, “All of your choices have not been…to put it plainly…not satisfactory thus far.”
She threw her hands on her cheeks and dragged them down. Her bloodshot eyes wearily looked at Alastor, “Alastor, the grace period is going to be over in like A MINUTE!” Charlie took a step towards him, “We need to pick a spot. NOW!”
“My, oh my, is the princess taking this game seriously?” Alastor tilted his head and grinned at her.
Charlie folded her arms firmly, grumbled and turned her back to him, “Yeah.”
A snap rang out behind her. Shadows wreathed around the clearing. Charlie yelped and stumbled back into something firm. She spun around. Alastor stared down at her, crimson eyes glistening in the Hellish night. Charlie stumbled away again and murmured, “Sorry.”
Walls sprang up around her, ceilings weaved across the ceiling and floors slithered across the withering ground. They were…inside? Had Alastor transported her somewhere. It was quite grand with a dome ceiling and a large swirling staircase ahead. The place was donned with hues of red and black. The building seemed like an odd but satisfying mix of a gothic style and a Disney princess castle. The ceiling was gilded with some foreign images from long ago: earth paintings perhaps? Music drifted from somewhere within the building, a somber ghost wandering through the halls. Wow, this place was huge.
She pivoted to the grinning Radio Demon, “What did you do?”
Alastor simply glanced around at the marvelous building, no castle, damn it could be called a palace. “Hmph…it's our fortress.”
Charlie just stared at him. A few moments went by where she just stared and him and he just stared back. She spun around in her dress, “Alastor, look I love it but we’re not playing Disney princesses, are we?” Charlie definitely noted that she would have to return her if it still remained after the game. Then she paused in her trek as she scanned the room, “Wait… Alastor,” Charlie turned back to him, “I don’t think this is legal in this game…”
Alastor let out a long sigh, “Actually it is Charlie.” He waved a hand at the room, “Half of those rules were about “no maiming. Well, nowhere did it say that erecting wondrous palaces was not allowed.”
Charlie grumbled. Damn it, she hadn’t thought about that. She gave him a puzzled look, “Then…why?”
Alastor sauntered to her, his hands tight behind his back, “Obviously, to distract them. And to hide the flag, of course.” he let out a little scoff as he drew near, “I’m sure at least Angel, Lucifer, and Niffty will be enchanted long enough to draw them away…from their true goal.”

A shiver ran down her back. The music drifting down the hall was nothing compared to the slight hum of his staticky voice. A voice that was smooth, charming. Heat rushed to her cheeks. Alastor was asking her to dance?
Vaggie. But it was just a dance? He was looking at her, awaiting her reply. Alastor’s hands were firm, warm, hands that she wouldn’t mind guiding her. Step after step. Perhaps a few laughs after she stepped on his toes. Maybe not. Vaggie. That voice nagged, screamed.
She uttered, “Uh…” Charlie slipped out of his loose grip. “Another time! Let’s go hide the flag!” She threw him her best smile, a nervous one at that, and sprinted up the twisting staircase.
Alastor gave her a curt nod before falling in step with her hurried footsteps.
