SO. first year we got seven disciplines to learn plus a theater history course. in lighting we learned about the history of stage lighting and how they used to dim lights in a really fucked up way with salt water that got so many technicians killed and we learned how to properly hang a source 4 light fixture on a big metal pipe.

in audio we've just been doing physics review of how sound works but its ok because after the mini quiz on that we get to do actual fun stuff like setting up sound systems

props class has been moved to later in the year :(( i saw our teacher's portfolio and that shit is crazy im looking forward to it

paint!! basically just set painting, the class where you take the physical constructions given to you by the carpentry class and you make em look cool. i made a pounce pattern and learned a few techniques for making different textures

carpentry is the designing, planning and assembly of physical set pieces, i got to use a chop saw and staple gun today to start making a theater flat :]]

wardrobe!!!!!!! best one yet mostly because we get to do so much also its just plain fun, learned how to thread a sewing machine and sew a few patterns, then did a straight seam, topstitch, flat felled, and french seam today :]]

stagecraft is the stage management course where we learn all abt the industry n shit last week we reviewed a bunch of terminology and did our required work safety training stuff

theatre history is epic our homework was to watch a play called indecent which is the story of an older play, god of vengeance, a yiddish play with a lesbian romance

It is said that a beautiful princess named Calvalia from a lost kingdom in the east (once known as Atlantis) drank a tonic of this poisonous flower to escape an arranged marriage. Moved by the lengths she went to find escape, the West Wind Zephyrus resurrected her as one of his kin and brought her with him to Mt. Haemus. It is believed that where her tears fall, a lily of the valley sprouts in its place. Thus, the delicate white blooms began to thrive in the lands of Ancient Greece.

These flowers would catch the attention of the God Apollo, who was intrigued by their unique appearance and medicinal qualities. Following a trail of them led him to the weeping anemoi, whom he comforted with a song. They formed a bond as they sang together, and having won her trust and affection, she pledged her loyalty to serve him on Mt. Olympus. His fondness for her flowers, the lily of the valley, would also earn it the name “Apollinaris.”

*some versions of the myth claim that Apollo took Calvalia from Mt. Haemus to spite Zephyrus, who had caused the death of his lover Hyacinthus.

So the Anemoi (wind gods - correct me if I'm using that incorrectly) lent me a helping hand a few minutes ago!

I had to carry a couple of boxes that were delivered inside from the back porch. Knowing that my hands were going to be full, I closed the door behind me (as not to let out the two dogs in the house), but I didn't latch the door either so that it was easy for me to just push open.

I grabbed the boxes and was on my way to the door when the door opened up for me, via a gust of wind, just as I approached.

Immediately struck with a bit of surprise, I smile a bit and go, "Huh. Thanks!" and proceed on my way.

Unfortunately, I do not worship Zephyrus nor do I have any experience with him. I did do some brief research about him for you, though!

I do, however, have some information that I can share that may help you! This is stuff I am finding online through various sources; I'm mostly trying to stick to historical sources.

Zephyrus

• Frankincense is a common offering for all Anemoi

• You can find hymns written to the Anemoi among the Orphic Hymns (hymn 80 is specifically for Zephyros)

• Zephyrus, the West Wind, is considered the gentlest of the four winds and is a bringer of spring, carrying seeds on his winds and warming up the earth

• Here is a prayer to the four winds, including one specifically for Zephyrus, that I found

• General Hellenic offerings that can be given to most gods (including Zephyrus) would include clean water, wine, milk, cheese, grains, fruits, veggies, olives, bread, meat, olive oil, and figs

• There are no historical festivals for Zephyrus (or any Anemoi), but people typically celebrate him with the coming of spring, specifically the spring equinox

• Offerings you can give to Zephyrus would be feathers (always clean ones found in nature first), flowers (especially those that bloom in spring), unripe fruits, swan imagery, horse imagery, and tiger imagery

• He is married to Khloris (Chloris), goddess of greenery, according to Ovid (the Dionysiaca also claims Iris, goddess of rainbows and messenger of Hera, to be his wife)

• His children are said to be Xanthos, Balios, Eros, Pothos, Areion, Karpos, literal tigers, and literal horses

• Some of his known epithets (based mostly on what I could find in the Orphic Hymn and Theoi.com's mentioned sources; I couldn't find the original Greek, so it's just in English, sorry) are Sea-born, Aerial, Unseen, Lightwinged, Richest of all Winds, Brightening, Nimble God of Wayside Shrines, Golden-haired, Rapid, Swift, Gentle, Kindly, Lightest of all Things, Storm-blowing, Blustering, Stormy, Straight-flown, Strongly Blowing, Light (as in "light as a feather"), Earth-born (gigantos; only translated word I found), and The Gentle Breeze

Red

Firetongue. A marijuana like plant that can be smoked or consumed to help with sleep and chronic pain. Smoked by a large majority of Anemoians recreationally. Firetongue chews are developed by Jeremias Mccullough first for Crown Mavros, but he refined them to be better and taste better for the sake of his future wife, and Mav's sister, Amara Aeraki. The plant is a maroon and red colour and the products made from them often are a dusty red or maroon. Red dye can also be made from the Firetongue plant but it tends to fade easily.

Orange

Popflowers are large magical flowers that only grow on the mountains near Oriens and Aiman. Here is another STS post about them, their origins, uses and importance.

Yellow/Gold

The Cobra Pendant is a reoccurring phenomena seen all over the world. It is most prominent in Talisum's story but it has surely been seen by many Alchemists and those curious about the origins of Gods. This is a sign by an old... olllldddd God that he is reaching out to you.

Bonus: Kurtys' locket. Kurtys Lutalo carries a golden locket with a small graphite drawing of his mother. This is passed onto his daughter, Ilonia. Kurtys' wife, Taifun, ends up making a small drawing of Kurtys to put on the other half of the locket for her. Ilonia ends up having it put into her swords custom scabbard like a jewel, as she doesn't wear necklaces but she still wants to have it around where she can keep that reminder of her father.

Green

Taifun's painting of Amara Aeraki. When the Anemoian war ended Amara was hailed a war hero due to her efforts in marrying and distracting the Monarch of Midonia, as well as causing disruption in their countermeasures against the Anemoians. Mav commissioned a portrait of his sister in her honour. This painting was created using malachite and jade based green paints, as well as expensive bright cinnabar reds and pop flower orange. "Only the best" was requested.

Blue

Blue is a tricky one, and is more symbolic I suppose. Ishida in so many facets follows the colour blue. Blue is the colour of their God Flower (like pop-flowers. diviniphagous plants.) Theirs is called the I Kaltar flower. It bleeds a deep indigo when the plant is pulled apart. Its often compared to "The Godess' ichor itself" It is considered sacred and tourists are NOT allowed to pick from the fields without special permission. It is refined into various blue pigments and paints. Blue is also the colour of the Dredhe's eyes. They are an icy colour thats compared to a blue moon. Bright and catches the light, and known for how its structural differences helps the Dredhe see in the dark and underwater.

Purple

Fluvius Aeraki's jacket. This jacket had been worn by Fluvius since he was a young man. It has been through hell and back. Its very old but well taken care of and consistently upkept and fixed. its a bit of a ship of Theseus situation though since the whole thing has likely been replaced over the years. Fluvy just insisted that he kept this specific jacket his whole life. Well... until his son, Kurtys' death. When Kurtys died, Fluvius gave it to his grandson, Fluvius jr (Fluvius-dy but everyone just uses jr) The boy always found comfort in it, so Flu gave him the old thing. Its a bit small on him as an adult, but hes had it hemmed and mended just like how Fluvy sr did.

It smells of the sea, perfume and rum and its impossible to get that scent out.

BONUS: Black

Black

This is a mirror to Fluvius' jacket. Chien always wrapped himself up in his grand-uncle Xaviers cloak. This cloak is as old as that jacket and just like that jacket it has been through hell but has been maintained. The cloak is full of stories. It was once traded between lovers who had very similar cloaks to the point that nobody noticed they swapped so they could keep the other's smell close. It wrapped around a girl called Janu (Mav's aunt) to temporarily shield her from the dangers of terrible old men. This cloak was worn through a tyrant kings short reign and followed Xavier to Ishida. It picked up the smell of wine and burbon as Xavier learned from his grandfather how to make liquor. This cloak has seen the fall of a second king: Edgar Derre. (Taifuns father) as he was part of the raid to dethrone him. Xavier brought this cloak to Aeraki and used it once to wrap up Chien's father, Mavros when he cried and screamed. The cloak has seen the deaths of many men: killed by Xavier in his rage. The cloak went back to Midonia when the war started. It returned with him and became the comfort item for Chien. He'd inherit this cloak when Mav and his mother MIrka ""died" (fled Anemoi) and then Xavier died.

Chien would wear this thing until its thread was bare. Even then: he'd hang it at his bedpost and hold onto it some nights when he couldn't sleep. This cloak has seen everything and would continue to see more until Chien would be entombed in it.

I'm not a huge podcast person, but Welcome to Night Vale is so iconic, revolutionary, and genre redefining that I had to give it a listen and I thoroughly enjoy it. I'm not caught up by any means, but Cecil and the town of Night Vale is a comforting place and just a lovely story. Since I live in the american southwest its also fun to exist here and just be like... Night Vale is set here...so that's a fun extra layer :)

17. Have you ever attended Pride in a big city/ large metro area?

I wish! I was planning to get together and go with a handful of people (when I had an irl social life) a few years back, but covid shut everything down and I haven't thought about it since. I might attend this year, and might even volunteer with things. I'm not quite sure, but I think it'd be very nice to go someday

The park had always been meaningful to Kay, but now it was even more so, staring at Renee from his spot in the shade as she went around picking flowers with a bright smile. The wind ruffled her hair - pulled neatly into a half-braid - in a way that he could only describe as magical.

She straightened, coming towards him with a handful of flowers before sitting next to him, showing them how to weave the stems into a crown.

Their attempt was messy. She put it on as though it was made of the purest gold and rarest jewels anyway.

He reached out, grabbing her hand and pressing a gentle kiss to the back of it. Her laughter rang like bells, but she inched closer to him regardless, mischief shining in her purple eyes.

"We should kiss like real people do," she whispered, a teasing lilt to it. Kay leaned in despite it, wrapping his arms around her neck as she wrapped hers around their waist.

It was short, chaste, sweet. It was the most magical thing he had ever felt.

What are all the dragons in your lore? By which I mean, I guess which of the gods are dragons or draconic, and what clades of dragons are there, and how do the clades and the gods relate to one another?

Draconic Gods include the major gods of the 4 nations; Rryme, Exitium, and Athos. Rryme is a multiarmed sea serpent of sorts, Exitium closer to a classical dragon, and Athos a tarrasque/ turtle dragon.

There is Eurus, Pinna, and Sussurro who are the sons of Rryme and Exitium. There is also Ericus who is the result of the hate between Exitium and Athos sparking life in latent magic in the ground. He is also a tarrasque/ hedgehog dragon. There are sea serpents that are Rrymes daughters. Exitium also has a son named Cierres who is a drake. He is technically a demi-god, since his mother was an ancient drake. (Power wise, close to a 4/5th demi god. Between worship and having divine orgins from both sides)

There are many other minor gods who could be dragonic, who aren't named or otherwise aren't very important.

Exitium made the first dragons and drakes: both an ancient peoples that were made just after humans as a show of power that he too could create intelligent life. They were immortal but tended to grow ill easily, becoming susceptible to a parasite that the God Demaskus intruduced to them. (Looked like gold flakes)

Cextos' humans were introduced to these giant immortal draconics to help remove the gold flakes. Theyd worship the draconics like Gods themselves.

When Exitium was felled by Athos, his drakes and dragons almost completely died out because they could not survive off material food. They eat magic. The pop flowers that sprung from the earth and ichor allowed some of the draconics to survive. The Dragons dispersed along with a few of the Drakes. The Drakes who did not leave with the dragons would be changed in ways they never expected nor would be able to understand.

The minor Gods of Enkavaima modified the leftover drakes, turning them into beasts. Charger drakes, Vultu, Pero, Diamonda, etc. all of these are venomous and have quills or frills running over their back that act as sensory organs or methods of delivering toxins.

Pinna, Exitiums son and the God King of Anemoi made the Pinnae dragons. Anemoi is the land that was once Enkavaima before the God helped colonize the land and fight for the territories. Pinnae dragons, unlike the draconic and drakes, are mammals. They are characterized by large noses, rabbit like ears, waterproof fur, and six limbs. They are almost all hypercarnivores.

Pinna first created the Dragonborn. He planned for them to be a huge, werebat esque people, who would be his most devout. Demaskus however, once more, sabotaged another sophont. He influenced their creation in some way to make them very small. (2-3ft)

Pinna would then create the Major Pinnae Dragons from his original design but these would be animals. From there, he created the Weeg and Loismos, essentially a falcon and a pigeon rat respectively. He'd create a what would become essentially lynxes in Midonia but these have not been named yet. Maybe something that means to jump, or pounce.

Athos would have a hand in creating something that he would call tank beasts. He made them bigger. Flightless, and tamed them down to be cart-pullers and helpers for his miners.

Athos would also make the Ognepaka. They are fire turtles that inhabit the Oriens/Aimen mountains. They graze on plants, pop flowers and eat pop drakes.

Then finally, back to Rryme. Her daughters are often serpent like and she had also made animals called sea serpents.

Im still going back and forth on designs, but they are likely close to aquatic reptiles. They are often eaten raw like cetaceans. They often encompass the roles of cetaceans as well and are eaten by Merfolk when they die as otherwise their bodies are difficult to open up for other ocean life.

There is also various sea monsters of her creation. One or two of them are spoilers for my tabletop roleplaying party, but I can say that there is an undesigned dunkleosteus like dragon beast in the depths of the ocean that Rryme uses to protect her Gods Bane and acts as a guardian to what is essentially Ishidan Hell. (Get turned into a sea slug with full consciousness and senses)
