i must know who the bad legally blonde musical movie dream casts were… also do you have any dream casts yourself 👀
they werent BAD its just that twitter doesnt know any singing blonde that isnt dove cameron or sabrina carpenter lol. also saw andrew barth feldman as emmett which i dont hate but also im like eh. saw renee rapp as vivian which i DO want to see from the snippet of her singing the remix but i dont think she has a very vivienne look honestly idk. saw someone say wait until shes old enough to play brooke which i think would be more iconic 4 her.
i never really had a dreamcast myself and i think thats why i was theoretically ok with the idea of it 😭 all i ask is that it remains a period piece and isnt modernized

Who's your fave in dear evan hansen and why?
HIII THANK YOU FOR THE ASK OMG !!!
i dont know if you mean character or actor so ill answer both!! Actor wise, im tied between Andre Barth Feldman (Evan Hansen on Broadway 2019-2020) and Sam Tutty (Evan Hansen on Westend (2019-2022)
Andrew Barth Feldman because he was SIXTEEN when he got the role which is so crazy impressive to me, and because i just love the way he acts. Hes very expressive in both his expressions (obviously) and his voice (see: his cover of Michael in the Bathroom from bmc) He also starred in a movie with Jennifer Lawrence instead of going to Harvard which is just so iconic to me. Overall he is SUUUUCH an inspiration to me, hes only 21 and has done so much.
Sam Tutty because i just am so inlove with the way he sings, specifically that one version of Words Fail where he like "growls" the lines? "Before i lead with the worst of me." I dont even know how to write it out, but i loooove the way he sings that entire song. And the whole musical, really. He is also in the musical Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) which has been so high on my musical listens this past month its insane
Character wise, though, is predictable to say Connor Murphy? I really enjoy the whole depressed teenage boy characters i have to say. Specifically in the book though when we get his point of view it really solidifies how much i love him though. I think he's more fleshed out than some of the other characters we see (which makes sense, we only really see Evan and Zoe). But I do also love Evans mom. I think shes just great and did everything she could for him, even if it wasn't much/enough for him.
sorry this is so long! this probably isn't what you were asking for i just love talking about Dear Evan Hansen so much <3

From Big Fish to Wicked to School of Rock then finally to Beetlejuice,
Alexander Michael Brightman’s contributions to theatre and civil rights movements have been astounding. A two-time Tony Nominee (School of Rock, Beetlejuice) he has been pushing his career not just on stage but behind a vocal booth and behind the camera as well and we have been loving it so far.
Tumblr media
He knows the importance of mental health and physical health in terms of singing, his iconic voice took years to perfect with the help of doctors and other vocal technicians.
We love this man and ever since quarantine dropped on us like Beetlejuice showing up right after the Maitlands death, he has given us smiles and belly aching laughter to get us through the days.
Boq, Dewey Finn, Beetlejuice, Kenny, Fizzarolli are my personal favourite roles he has played through-out the years. And because of him I now dream of performing for audiences and making them laugh. Alex is an hilarious joker and some jokes don’t quite land but he always tries to reconcile so that every one gets a chance to laugh.
Though he may not have won his Tony nominations (I mean it was hard to contend when School of Rock came out with Hamilton and Hadestown came out when Beetlejuice came in) he won Broadway Star of the Year from Broadway.com in 2019. He beat out Reeve Carney (Hadestown), Andrew Barth Feldman (Dear Evan Hansen, Ratatouile Musical), Santino Fontana (Tootsie), Eva Noblezada (Hadestown), Karen Olivo (Moulin Rouge!), Jeremy Pope (Ain’t Too Proud), Ali Stoker (Oklahoma!), Aaron Tveit (Moulin Rouge!) and Adrienne Warren (Tina: The Tina Turner Musical)
Happy Birthday Alex (Feb 5th, 1987)

📌  💕  🏳‍🌈  💎  -For DEH
from this hyperfixation/interests ask game!
📌 how did you find your hyperfixation? I got into it through my friends; we all liked hamilton and I had heard good things about DEH from them, so I ended up giving it a shot and liked it almost immediately!
💕 tell us about one of your favorite characters and why you like them! ehehehehe well you asked for it anon. as you likely know by now, sir jared kleinman is my absolute favorite DEH character. aside from the fact that he's just fucking HILARIOUS, he's easily the most relatable character in the whole thing, and our personalities are incredibly similar
🏳‍🌈 do you have any headcanons (lgbt, race, neuro, etc) that are important to you? I don't have any headcanons that I'm specifically attached to, but I am a fan of she/they zoe and she/they alana. also, jared probably has undiagnosed ADHD because I probably have undiagnosed ADHD and I enjoy projecting onto that poor boy. also this really isn't a headcanon because he's canonically mspec but bi connor??? yes yes yes. also kind of irrelevant and I've said this before but jared most definitely has a cat with a dumb name thank you
💎 are there any fun facts or trivia that you would like to share? OH HO HO I have SO much I would love to share. I got carried away though so lemme put it under a cut
okay here we go besties:
connor murphy's original name was dennis morse and the working title for DEH was The Dennis Project (and zoe's name was becca)
there's a pitch perfect DVD behind evan hansen's pillow in his lil bed shelves because,,, ben platt
the laptop used in the opening scene is fake and has a bunch of LED lights to illuminate evan's face, but the laptop for sincerely me can be typed on! sky lakota lynch says he liked to fuck around with it to make andrew barth feldman break
jared's line "wonder of wonders, miracle of miracles" is a reference to fiddler on the roof; steven levenson says it's "easy to imagine that jared kleinman is a connoisseur of classical music theater"
so big, so small used to be a songless scene of evan and heidi eating ice cream on the couch together before pasek and paul went "wait, shit, this needs a song"
I read somewhere that ben platt was originally considered for the role of jared kleinman but idk if it was true because I can't find the source
connor was intentionally dressed in all dark gray and not black, in order to keep him from feeling too unapproachable
a few of will roland's actual clothes were used for jared's costumes
connor used to just straight up disappear after his death; after rehearsals started, the show's writers started to develop his character and gave him more scenes after his death
the ICONIC line "kinky" was one of the last changes made to the show, and is one of steven levenson's favorite pieces of writing in the script. the line used to be "lame", which can be heard in audio recordings from early previews
I'm sure a lot of us know this already but in the deh movie, the school band plays instrumentals of good for you and anybody have a map
I'm sure there's lots more but I can't think of anything else. sorry I kinda wents nuts LMAO hope you enjoyed <3
oh yeah! trivia sources are this book and this video

Btw thoughts on the actually released Ratatouille musical? The one with Titus Burgess, Andrew Barth Feldman, Andre DeShields and others? (It's already on YouTube if you missed it)
- I yelled 'yes king' at at least 3 different moments lmao
- of COURSE Wayne Brady was in it
- Titus was iconic but he also had very strong 'human surround by puppets on a toddler show' energy and personally I think it would have been a little funnier if he played it straight lol
- I also loved how all of the rats like attempted costumes with fake ears and makeup and Titus was just like. wearing grey lmao
- Andrew Barth Feldman is So Good and I would like for him to take over the theater world but there was also something like...with the way he talks to remy and the upward facing angle of the camera I felt vaguely uncomfortable skhshdkdhd
- also love that everyone had real hats and he had a like a paper bag lmao
- Ashley Park tony award for stealing my heart
- PRISCILLA LOPEZ PARODYING CHORUS LINE WHILE TRYING TO KILL THE RATS?!?!
- you could tell Kevin Chamberlain was having the time of his life they should have used him more
- the dancing was honestly like unreasonably good
- when they showed the orchestra there was this one girl who just looked like she'd rather be anywhere else and it killed me lmao
- overall by the time it was over I teared up because I miss theater skdhsjks so I think that speaks for itself

for the fandom meme asks: F L N S (evan :D) U Y Z (deh!) (if that’s too many, just pick a few to answer)
F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom
If you count on-and-off, I’ve been into Marvel since 2016, but if we’re talking consistent, uninterrupted hyperfixation, probably DEH, which I got into in August of 2017 and stayed pretty consistently obsessed with until midway through last year. (I still love it with all my heart, but the ol’ hyperfixation well has run a tad dry as of late.)
L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves (chars you’re neutral on are fair game, as are chars you dislike)
Tony Stark is a staple of the MCU, and without him, the whole thing probably never would have taken off, in the first place. For all I complain about him, he was the one who started it all and RDJ has made the role as iconic as Indiana Jones or James Bond or any other immediately recognizable action hero, when fifteen years ago, nobody knew/cared about Iron Man beyond hardcore comic fans.
N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice)
1. Respect, towards both each other and especially the actors
2. Long, well-written fics that don’t turn into smut, because that kills the vibe for me, personally
3. More fanart of the characters in mundane, everyday situations. Bonus points if it’s 40s Steve and Bucky
S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (Evan)
This boy is for sure autistic (and perhaps ADHD as well), I’m more certain of that than I am of my own diagnosis, at this point. He has also internalized every little moment of rejection he’s experienced in his life and basically convinced himself that he is inherently less-than, at the start of the show. That’s what comes back to bite him, as the story progresses and he swings way too far in the other direction, being smothered with positive attention and ending up with kind of a temporarily inflated ego
U - 5 favorite characters from 5 different fandoms
Bucky Barnes - Marvel Cinematic Universe, Connor Murphy - Dear Evan Hansen, Enjolras - Les Miserables, Paul Matthews - The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals, the EPCOT Ball - Disney Parks, Oliver - Lucids (Nicholas Podany)
Y - What are your secondhand fandoms (fandoms you aren’t in personally but are tangentially familiar with because your friends/people on your dash are in them)
Just answered :D
Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go (DEH)
I feel like it should be positive rambling but I just remembered the DEH movie is going to be a thing and how much it truly infuriates me, like, first of all, rushing a movie to get Ben Platt into a role that was done better by Andrew Barth Feldman (someone who actually looks Evan’s age) anyway, is such an immediate red flag. And then making Larry into Connor’s stepdad entirely shifts their conflict from a very real, interesting, complex one into the clichéd “you’re not my real dad” type of thing and removes the emotional gut-punch of his breakdown in YWBF. And SPEAKING of that, there is no way to translate most of these songs to screen. The stage and the projections, in their chaos of their crushing emptiness, are what make the emotional moments of DEH work. It doesn’t matter how or where you shoot it, there is no possible way to make Words Fail nearly as powerful on film as it is live. Not to mention how ridiculous Evan’s chats with imaginary Connor are going to look. The stage musical is one of the most beautiful, moving pieces of art I’ve ever been lucky enough to experience, and if they wanted to put it to film, they should have either released a proshot of the show and/or adapted it into a non-musical movie. Because a direct translation from stage to screen will not work, and it drives me up the wall that the majority of people’s only legal access to DEH will be through the inevitable dumpster fire that this movie will be sdfghjk
