i need to fill in leonor's 1990s dating history for story reasons, so i am soliciting sims from you wonderful, talented, generous people. if you'd like to donate someone, check out THIS FORM ♥️

i want to fill in leonor's dating history for the period from roughly 1993 to 1998. i'd like to have these exes attend her big, giant, extravagant wedding in 2001; i will be doing some Yet To Be Planned media coverage of said dating history (something like this stuff). as a treat, because i love to take pictures of other people's sims, i'll probably do some random photoshoots like these as well :^) [you can have leonor's files for your own purposes, if you so desire.]

i have no idea how many sims y'all're gonna donate or if they'll all be the same level of compatible, so: i'll try to incorporate as many as i can but, realistically, would have to choose if there are more than 5-6 options. this isn't a bachelorette challenge, so it would theoretically be based on which characters make sense for leonor and the timeline.

not all of the form's questions are required, but more detail is welcome ! entirely up to you how much fleshing out you'd like to do beyond the basics. i provided vague prompts, some which are optional, so ... go wild or don't ! if you want to discuss any of it before you submit the form (or after), then please don't hesitate to reach out.

your sims can be from uspana or somewhere else, btw. if they're not from uspana, they might be from the fictional country your story is set in, generic Simerica™, literally anywhere else ... if you don't state it, i'll just make something up that feels convenient sdjhfs they can be existing characters or new ones you create for this purpose; it's all up to you !

i am assuming you're familiar with the spinoff story OR leonor as a character, in some way or shape or form. you may know the story better than i do or have scrolled her tag on my blog earlier today for the very first time or somewhere in between. either way ... a little familiarity would help, i imagine !

leonor's existing love interests include: arturo, a very sweet and thoughtful son-of-a-politician (circa 1986-1990); renzo, a very famous actor who loves music and cutoff shorts and doing drugs (1991-1992); andre, a very happily married and painfully shy father of three who also happens to currently be his country's king (1992, 2016–); dan, a very chill tech founder who enjoys, like, space travel and wearing fanny packs and letting his wife do affairs and stuff, whom she marries in 2001 (circa 1998–).

leonor doesn't have a type, and there are no gender restrictions. she likes people who are interesting—peculiar, even. she's a wealthy princess and a government employee by 1993-1994, so that may affect either your sim's occupation and / or the necessity of a "how'd they meet" backstory. her birth year is 1970, and she’s more likely to go for agemates or older rather than younger people (at least while in her twenties, anyway). she could theoretically reconnect with anyone post-2001 but pre-2016 on account of the open marriage, although that feels unlikely / case-by-case.

Bethany's Bizarre Miraculous Halloween Special

Ah, October 15th. The midway point of October, a good time for me to post my Miraculous Halloween Special idea. This is honestly pretty independent from both my Rewrite and Shift Season, because chronologically it takes in late season 3, which I determined to be in Spring 2016, but this takes place in October. So yeah. Not really canon, but fun!

The akuma plot is pretty simple. It's Halloween in Miraculous Paris, but Grandpa Rolland is pissed that an American holiday is invading France. Hawkmoth akumatizes him into the Gargoyle, Ladybug and Chat Noir fight him, you know how it goes. What really matters is the civilian plot, and what everyone is going as:

Marinette, Alya, and Nino are all going together and Chaperoning their little siblings or Manon, in Marinette's case:

Alya is Ladybug while Marinette is Chat Noir. This was Alya's idea.

Nino is Jason Voorhees.

Manon is also Ladybug, while Ella and Etta are both Rena Rouge (one of them is supposedly an illusion, I'm not sure which one,) and Chris is Carapace.

Chloe and Sabrina are also going trick-or-treating going to a secret exclusive Halloween party. Chloe is Zelda while Sabrina is Link.

Adrien somehow convinced Nathalie (who's dressed as a witch,) and Tomoe to let him and Kagami go trick-or-treating together with the Gorilla as a chaperone. Adrien is Shinji Ikari, Kagami is Utena Tenjo, and the Gorilla is EVA Unit-01.

Ivan and Mylene are also going together alongside Ivan's little sister. The three are going as Sulley, Mike, and Boo from Monsters Inc. respectively. (Thanks to msweebyness for the idea, btw!)

Rose and Juleka are going as well, chaperoning Rose's four little goblin brothers (headcanoned characters):

Rose is Ladybug (she couldn't get Juleka to be Chat Noir.)

Juleka is Killer Queen (she couldn't get Rose to be Kira Yoshikage.)

The triplet brothers are the three little pigs, while the fourth youngest brother is the big bad wolf.

Although she's not coming with them, Rose's bratty younger sister (also headcanoned) is also trick-or-treating with her boyfriend, going as Peach and Mario respectively.

Nathmarc are also going, with Nathaniel's first cousins once removed niblings (even more headcanoned characters):

Marc is going as Kyoya Otori and managed to rope Nathaniel into being Tamaki Suoh.

Nath's niece is dressed as a goat, while Nath's nephew is dressed as a chicken.

Not everyone in the class is trick-or-treating, however. Many of them are going to the school's Halloween party:

Max is dressed as Markov, while Markov is dressed as Max.

Kim is a basic sheet ghost while Ondine is a mermaid.

Alix decided to go as the scariest thing she knows: Chloe. Chloe, when she comes to the party because she's done trick-or-treating Sabrina got tired of the secret exclusive party, is not amused.

Principal Damocles is the Owl (Hoo Hoo!), Ms. Mendeleiev is the Bubonic Plague, and Ms. Bustier is inexplicably a succubus.

Most of the students are going to the party after trick-or-treating. Aurore and Mirelle are some of these students. Aurore is Hurricane while Mirelle is Snowflake (both United Heroez.)

Lila unfortunately didn't have time to dress up because she was too busy planning the downfall of her enemies and living multiple lives helping out with all her charities.

As for adults giving away candy on Halloween:

Tom is in a gorilla suit while Sabine is a nurse.

Marlena is out working this Halloween, so Otis is handing out treats dressed as a Leopard.

Andre is giving out large candy bars to the kids that trick-or-treat there. His wife wouldn't let him dress up, though.

Luka (dressed as Josuke Hishagikata,) is handing out candies on the Liberty. Anarka is dressed as Lisa Lisa.

Max's mom is dressed as an astronaut.

Mylene's dad is dressed as the mime from his performance.

Roger's busy with his job, so he left out a bowl of candy that tells you it's your civil duty to take one and only one candy.

The Agreste Mansion isn't giving out candy, unfortunately. Gabriel doesn't like the holiday.

Hoooboiiii good question!! Haha because like, I’m actually kinda prepared to answer this, because I’ve thought about what I would’ve liked out of a Tangled sequel and, tsk I gotta tell you it’s very VERY different from the series XD 

However even though the series isn’t my idea of a Tangled sequel, if I was at this moment granted a wish that would allow me to magically alter the series as a whole, retroactively, I wouldn’t remove anything that the series introduced, because I like a lot it. I like Varian, I like Lance, I like Adira, I like Bruce Campbell, I like all o’ dem fools. Oh and the bangin’ SONGS YELL HEAH! Good food ^^. I also think the Sundrop and Moonstone stuff, the Demanitus stuff, even the Zhan Tiri stuff all sound cool on paper. Queen for a Day was pretty unforgettable for me so I’m not itching to change that in any major way. I honestly wouldn’t want to change the whole series in any major ways. Just, y’know, fix what’s there. Improve the flaws. Develop the underused characters and backstories. Make Eugene’s story mean something and matter. Make Quirin’s note mean something and matter. Add more moms for crying out loud. Explore Rapunzel’s trauma and actually SHOW us her recovery iIn full detail. 

Oh wait. Actually I WOULD make a dramatic change: Arianna is the focal parent NOT Frederic. That’s literally going hand-in-hand with “write Rapunzel’s recovery better.” She needs to see what a good mother looks like. 

OH KRIFF ONE MORE THING XD yeah Cass being Gothel’s daughter is SOO OUT XD

The Zhan Tiri disciples song a villain song. Heck, Zhan Tiri gets a villain song. OOOF could you imagine Zhan Tiri getting a song in the same vein as “In the Dark of the Night” from Anastasia??? That’d be so cool, oh jeez. 

Also I’d have the broadway stars be casted a little more creatively, like, I love what they did with Eden Espinosa, Jeremy Jordan, and James Monroe Iglehart, but I wish they went even harder with it. Gavin Creel being casted as that disciple (I dont remember his name) is exactly what I mean. Get Andre De Shields as someone! How about Susan Egan? Ooooh please could we get Aaron Tveit in there somewhere? Sigh, in my dreams I guess. 

Oh, and make sure they actually get to sing ^_^

One last major change would be to make Eugene’s mom live alongside Edmund. Literally I dont get the big issue media has with doing the “estranged parent” trope and restricting it to one parent (who is usually the father). Like what is it with Hollywood and writing BOTH parents? What’s wrong with a seasoned older husband and wife reuniting with their son, becoming key supporting characters in the story? 

I like Edmund too much to get rid of him, so. Why not have two cakes? 

Oh btw Eugene’s mom would be Susan Egan. No debate. 

Also I’d have the score be directed a little differently. Have actual leitmotifs that aren’t using music from the songs (as much as I like when that happens). Give Rapunzel and Eugene a “love theme” that also gets used for any time any other character is growing as a person or going through changes, like some type of “dream” theme that represents that character having and pursuing a want or goal. Then when Cass or Varian become evil, you twist that “dream” leitmotif to sound sinister because their “new dream” is something dark and twisted. Then you take that and incorporate it into their themes to make villain themes. Could you imagine if Varian and Cass had leitmotifs used when they were good, then when they betray Rapunzel, those leitmotifs are musically altered to sound sinister???

RANT : ML Season 5's Ending

I don't post about Miraculous much, but I need to get this off my chest.

WARNING :

Salt. Just...all the salt.

Chloe:

I don't like Chloe, she's a horrible person and hogged a lot of screen time throughout the show that could have been given to other characters, such as Nino. However, I find it disturbing that they decided to send a teenage girl to live with her abuser, with absolutely no friends; meanwhile her father, who only deciding to put his foot down last minute, gets to quit the job he's always hated anyway (even though he's abused his power before, and not just for Chloe's sake) without being called out for how he spoiled his daughter AND the adult magical terrorist gets a statue.

Not to mention Felix, a teenage boy who also has done terrible things, basically gets away scot-free. Remember when he basically tried to kill EVERYONE except for four people including himself, remember when he tried to force himself onto Ladybug, remember when he gave all the miraculous to a terrorist, remember when all it took to "redeem" himself was to emotionally manipulate someone in a vulnerable state into watching a play to convince her to solve the problem he caused for him (btw I can't believe Kagami came up with that plan and revealed Ladybug's identity behind her back, what the heck?) I get that he was abused, at the end of the day he's an abuse victim doing literally anything he can to gain the freedom he never had, but if he gets sympathy after all of that, what about Chloe? She was abused, she was neglected. Felix not only is seemingly forgiven and "redeemed", but still gets to be a permanent miraculous holder. When you combine that with how the narrative treats Gabriel and Andre, it looks like a sexist double standard...probably because it is.

Chloe sucks but that isn't entirely her fault. Andre spoiled her rotten, Audrey was a horrible influence when she wasn't straight up neglecting or verbally abusing her, Miss Bustier coddled her and Damocles let her get away with pretty much anything (although in their case I guess the mayor would've prevented them from letting Chloe face substantial consequences), Gabriel (and Lila) manipulated her multiple times. I'm not absolving Chloe of all blame, but she's 14. Leaving her with her abuser is horrible. That isn't cathartic, it's cruel. I'm not even asking for a redemption, I just think this "punishment" is too much.

Gabriel (and Tomoe too I guess):

Let's talk more about Gabriel. Gabriel, the abusive father, the magical terrorist, the guy that spent some of his final moments manipulating a teen, not only gets to make his wish, but also gets to be remembered as a hero. Statue included. Never mind that pretty much all of Adrien's classmates knew he was a terrible father at this point, they all clap and cheer when it's revealed he's getting a statue. The whole world is lied to and told the Alliance rings were hijacked by Monarch and that Gabriel sacrificed himself whilst trying to help stop him (I don't blame Ladybug for that though, I'm solely blaming the writers here). And we're supposed to be fine with this because he misses his wife and "tried to be a good father"? No.

An abused teenage girl is supposedly terrible beyond redemption, but an adult abuser is essentially outright vindicated by the narrative (the person he abused is tricked into thinking he was a hero, and Paris is basically a utopia post-wish). What a horrible message.

Remember, this may not be the end of the show, but this is the end of Gabriel's Agreste's story, and what an unfitting end it is.

Oh, and Tomoe gets away scot-free by the looks of it, because of course. Maybe she'll get comeuppance in a later season, but I'm not gonna defend the finale because of what a future episode might do, especially when this would've been the perfect time (and this goes for the possibility of Gabriel's secret identity being revealed to the public too).

Adrien:

I think Adrien is easily the most overrated character in the show. He's constantly coddled by the narrative, tends to "inspire" Marinette to be more passive and forgiving than she should be, and is incredibly bland (or at least he was until they started pushing just how angry he could get and how entitled to Ladybug's love he could feel, which I guess is something, but that something sure isn't pleasant); but you're telling me he doesn't get to have a legit passion beyond knowing he loves Marinette, to be involved in the final battle, to find out his dad is Monarch OR even that he's a sentimonster? He needs to know his life is tied to that ring and that he should be careful with it. This isn't "protecting him" (he's not a baby, if Felix eventually came to terms with being a sentimonster so can Adrien), if anything it's the opposite. Not letting him know that is dangerous! If not Marinette, Felix? Kagami? Nathalie? No one's going to tell him?! I hate to say it, but by robbing him of his agency and deciding they know what's best for him, they're being controlling over Adrien too; and no, I don't think that's "interesting", not after five seasons of Adrien already being controlled by someone else.

What is the show even trying to say? That Adrien needs to be controlled because he can't handle his emotions? Forget about giving him time or a good support system, he just wouldn't be able to handle it? If it was just his nightmare that'd be one thing, but Chat Blanc seems to indicate this is legitimately what they're saying. Why is this show trying to portray an abuse victim as someone who's dangerous and needs to be kept under control? Not just dangerous, but ultimately more dangerous than his abuser, since Gabriel made his wish and everything turned out fine (and at worst maybe one innocent person would have died/fallen into a coma had his wish not changed), but in "Chat Blanc" EVERYONE other than Chat died.

It does not matter if he finds out in a later season; it doesn't change the fact that his family is willingly lying to him and potentially endangering him by doing so, all for the sake of his abuser. Sure, you could argue Gabriel emotionally manipulated Marinette, but what's everyone else's excuse? I don't care if it leads to "interesting conflict", a) it's a conflict they've done before (Ladybug keeping secrets from Chat Noir), I'm not gonna praise the show for repeating itself, b) don't tell me telling Adrien the truth would've been "too sad" for the show to do but Marinette having to keep her mouth shut about Gabriel for the rest of her life (or even temporarily) is "interesting angst" (at least try to hide your favouritism, besides it's never even implied she feels guilty over this), and c) it's not like it will have a satisfying payoff, after all, it didn't last time. Even if Adrien does find out, Gabriel's not around anymore, so chances are Marinette will have to suffer the consequences of that, not Gabriel. That's not satisfying.

Like...Gabriel may as well have been related to Marinette instead (not her father but her uncle or something). Why not? Remember when he was her favourite fashion designer? (Don't worry if you don't, the show doesn't either.) Maybe have him become her mentor, imagine how much more of a personal impact Ladybug and Monarch finding out each other's identities could've had on both of them.

Why even have the main villain be related to the deuteragonist (giving him a closer connection to the main villain of the show than the actual main character) if you were just gonna side-line him in the final battle and rob him of any sense of closure? Whatever drama they can squeeze out of him finding out who Monarch is (IF he does) won't be nearly as interesting as it would've been to see Chat Noir confront Monarch, face to face, knowing that he's his father. Adrien might not even remember Gabriel being abusive at all, it's not made clear. But if he doesn't, all that time spent on Adrien's relationship with his father, building up a big confrontation between them? Wasted.

Remember how season 4 ended? How it built up Ladybug and Chat Noir working together to retrieve all the Miraculous back, after a season of them being more distant?

What a joke.

Is he the deuteragonist, or a trophy? The show can't seem to decide.

Marinette:

And then there's Marinette who, in a show that supposedly wants to empower young girls, doesn't even get to defeat the main male bad guy. After multiple seasons with her as the main lead, after multiple episodes where she's apologised or made to feel bad for either completely justifiable reactions or things that straight up weren't her fault (remember when she was made to say she was "out of line" at the end of an episode that was supposed to be about racism and police aggression?) meanwhile other characters rarely apologise to her in return, we don't even get the satisfaction of seeing her truly defeat the person that's caused her so much grief.

Seriously, she went through so much in this show; between the class consistently siding with Lila over her (btw turns out Lila basically had nothing to lose the whole time because she had multiple identities, yet another unsatisfying conclusion to a conflict), being forced to become a guardian, losing all the Miraculous, etc, and for what?

She failed. That's not me being too harsh. She may have influenced Gabriel to change his wish (emphasis on "may have", I'm pretty sure that woman was originally Emilie but in that case Nathalie being healed doesn't make sense), but her goal was to prevent the wish in the first place.

And why did they have to make her look like a fool? Felix's play spelled it out for her that Gabriel is Monarch, she even realises that he referred to the day she lost the Miraculous, but from the way it's presented she only figures out Gabe's Monarch after seeing him de-transform? Why did she think giving him a another chance would turn out well? She tried that all the way back in season 2, and it didn't work. Marinette is kind-hearted but she has her limits. You're telling me Lila crossed a line but Monarch could maybe be reasoned with? Why? Because he has a sob story?

Marinette is strategic and quick-witted. She's not an idiot.

Gabriel gets to make his wish and everyone else (who am I kidding, just Ladybug) has to clean up after him. Not only that, Ladybug does him a favour and ensures everyone is tricked into believing he was a hero. If anything, Chat Noir, the main male superhero, landed the killing blow.

Great. Just great. How empowering.

Bonus nit-picks:

--Did everyone on the planet seriously forget that the Adrien and Kagami in the Alliance rings aren't real, they're virtual simulations? That wasn't a secret. How did they fall for Gabriel's fake plea?

--If they were gonna put the girls from the specials and Future!Alix on the poster, they could've have them do more at least.

--Okay, Luka training with Su-Han was random but I guess since he was a temporary Miraculous holder it kinda makes sense...Penny and ESPECIALLY Jagged though? Nah.

--Ivan was the first person to EVER be akumatized then saved by Ladybug and Chat Noir. So with that in mind, surely he more than anyone would trust that they'd never kidnap two virtual innocent people, and would join Alya in reminding everyone else how they were always there for them, in a touching moment that brings the "first arc" full circle...oh.

--Look, Marinette is very talented, and I realise she had the book to help her but...I'm sorry literally HOW did she fix the Miraculous? Gabriel needed high-tech, presumably very expensive, machinery to re-shape them.

Final thoughts:

What makes this all sting so much more is that, wasn't season 5 supposed to be the original ending, just in case future seasons didn't happen? All seasons after this one are basically bonus seasons. So originally the show ended HERE. The last we would've seen of Chloe was her crying, trapped with her abusive mother. For all we knew Adrien would've been living a lie the rest of his life, looking up to his abuser. Gabriel is never fully revealed as the monster he truly was and is honoured as a "hero". Marinette literally gets stabbed in the back (well, it was her stomach, but you get the idea). There wasn't even a reveal, Ladybug and Chat Noir would've just never found out who the other truly is I guess.

Oh, but don't worry. Marinette and Adrien kissed.

That's all that really matters, right? (Never mind the fact that they spent five seasons building up to the start of a romantic relationship, and it will undoubtedly take even more for it to become a healthy one.)

Maybe the ending was originally different. Maybe they modified the ending of the season finale after finding out season 5 wouldn't be the last season. Maybe this will all somehow be fixed later (no matter how long they may will drag it out for).

Or maybe Marinette's blatantly out of character action (she hates liars, and only lied about her identity because she had to, even considering Gabriel's attempts to emotionally manipulate her previous episodes have made it clear she would not lie to Adrien, let alone the WHOLE WORLD, about Gabriel) will come back to bite her for the sake of having something to blame her for next season.

I don't know.

I don't care.

The writing for this show has been poor for a LONG time. I only stuck around because I still found myself having fun watching it from time to time, even as the problems got worse. That, and I was hopeful it would at least stick the landing. But after this, I don't think I can stomach continuing to watch a show that will probably continue to push such awful messages, and with such awful pacing.

Word of advice, all shows have flaws, so feel free to complain when a show does something you think is stupid (I've never found the argument that kids shows shouldn't be criticised because they're kid shows to make sense), but if you're not enjoying yourself because you can't overlook a show's problems, if you don't find pleasure in watching a show...just stop watching it. It's a waste of your time. Don't "wait for it to get good", don't wait for future seasons to clean up a current season's mess, don't continue watching it just because the fandom makes better content. I promise you there are better shows out there that deserve (and need) your attention.

So with that in mind...I don't think I'll be watching what comes next.

i swear to god i can recite this entire episode from memory. it’s so engrained in me.

Nepenthe’s description of the bondspeople (slaves) is such a good parallel to Leela’s role in Gallifrey. she is tied to this planet forever whether she wants to or not and when she leaves, she will be condemned to death.

also. thinky thoughts on why the Warpsmiths changed to Warpwrights and why the element of their being non-corporeal was almost entirely dropped. i mean. i think the human slavery thing was maybe not the right tone for future Gallifrey releases & i think there were copyright issues with the term “Warpsmiths” but i like to imagine that sometime in the gap between season 6 & Enemy Lines, there was some sort of civil conflict that led to two factions – Warpsmiths vs Warpwrights. maybe the Warpwrights advocated an end to the bondspeople/slavery aspect of their existence and advocated for a permanent corporeal existence (maybe through synthetic bodies or something?) rather than temporarily inhabiting various humans for 80 years at a time. idk. i’m desperate for more worldbuilding around the temporal powers.

forever really want to study Andred’s weird political opinions. he obviously isn’t as xenophobic as other Time Lords (not a high bar to clear btw) and he does genuinely see aliens as people but the weird pretense of xenophobia he’s had to maintain in his disguise as Torvald (if it was ever a pretense) has just warped his view & moral compass so much… he’s fascinating to me.

Seán Carlsen is simply so good at playing Narvin. he’s always so earnest when he could have just portrayed Narvin as another sleazy Time Lord. but Narvin cares so much! even if before his character development it's for the wrong things!

i really wish we got to see her and the Outsiders together more (on Gallifrey Prime at least). like she ostensibly had contact with them since before the series (and i headcanon that she often went to stay with them on trips away from the Capitol) so she never really talks about them. could she feel herself growing more distant from them over time as she became more engrained in the fabric of Gallifreyan politics? as she became more and more of a Time Lord without her even noticing?

it’s been said a million times but Romana’s hypocrisy in being extremely moderate in her compassion for refugees as a whole but entirely compassionate to Leela (albeit in a patronizing way) is so delicious and is never really something that she makes an effort to fix over the course of the series. like. again she’s less xenophobic than other Time Lords but the amount she cares and is willing to make exceptions is so deeply attached to her personal feelings. (which is perhaps the reason why she’s always making exceptions for herself both out of egotism & self-hatred)

again it’s been said before but Narvin’s character development from here to being the leader of a resistance movement against Gallifrey is so fucking delicious

“Torvald” insulting Andred to Leela’s face by calling him liberal will never not be funny

“We are all of us willing to die to defend our beliefs.” GOD THIS LINE!!!!! it’s really one of my favorites in the whole series because it’s such wonderful foreshadowing because 1) as we’ve all pointed out numerous times, Romana reallllly can’t stop martyring herself. as in. she tries to kill herself “for the greater good” at least 20 times in this series (literally in half of the episodes she appears in). 2) though her self sacrificing nature remains consistent, over time and especially in the Time War series, she tries to self sacrifice more and more for her friends, not for Gallifrey or for lofty ideals (this can probably best be seen in Unity where Romana’s supposed last words to a Dalek she knows will kill her is “I will never betray those I love”). 3) aside from Romana specifically, it’s also just kind of the main thesis of the show. Wynter dies in an effort to stop Pandora/save Gallifrey. Andred dies because he finally decided his loyalties to genuine compassion for people means more than politics. Braxiatel sacrifices himself to Pandora to save Romana. even villains like Darkel die because she so adamantly won’t budge from her traditionalist/conservative views. as the Doctor would say – "Who I am is where I stand and where I stand is where I fall."

For his birthday, they refurbish an old storage room into an office for him and deck it out w/ photos of them hanging out with him/good moments (provided by Gigi’s excellent photography skills).

It becomes a glorified break room, and that’s literally the best thing he could ask for <3 because the gang will just pop in randomly to relax in there. They come to see him instead of hanging out in the Main Team Office. They go out of their way.

The plan .. the closest thing to a Berlermo child, and both of them were so detached from it in s5 vol1 (Andrés preferring his real kid lol and Martín ... - i don't even know what he wants... ), it was really disappointing. Do you think in the next volume the plan finally gets back its importance?

You read my mind, anon. Martin seemed awfully blazé when Raquel came into the bank and sprung on them Plan Paris (I'm still somewhat-- shocked? that Sergio never mentioned it to him? I like to think it was done as a plot device, I don't like to think that Sergio would not inform the one who came up with the plan of any additional fail-safes. What gives?) It was Bogota who called him out for the ease with which he was suddenly the one relaying orders instead of the one coming up with them. Here, I like to think it was shock on Martin's part; shock after Nairobi's death, shock and relief to have Raquel inside. I don't remember if it was before they had no news from Sergio to add that to the list of ~shocks.

As for Andres preferring his child to Martin (oh my god?? I just realized it's not at all what you said anon, I apologize for my following rant! Dyslexia is a bitch) , I have A LOT to say. First, Rafael was a different kind of engineer from Martin; he's basically a programmer ("an Electronics Engineers from MIT - Massachusetts Institute of Technology - with a post-degree in cybersecurity"), while Martin is implied to be "one of the best minds in engineering, physics, fluid mechanics" (according to Andres).

Truth is, we don't yet know wtf the whole Berlin and Rafael flashback was about. We only got half of the story, and I'm pretty sure we're going to get the rest of it in part 2. It's heavily implied that Rafael will basically sleep with Tatiana, which might be why they use Rio for their technical needs in the Mint heist instead of using Rafael. But I have this... feeling that Andres is purposefully pushing Rafael in her arms. Which would have him playing 4D chess with his son - since it's not clear if Tatiana is on this, too - but it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility given what a royal asshole he's been to Rafael.

Thing is, Andres divorces Tatiana too by the time they're in the Mint, and that betrayal might be why. Now, as for the reason Tatiana didn't just turn everyone in to the police-- she's either dead, or a secret asset for the plan(s - because she also knew about the Mint and said nothing during that either). 

Rafael might be ~the~ ace up their sleeve when it comes to part 2, though I can't, for the life of me, imagine how his technical skills will save them since they're currently in a war-like situation.

I mean, I really like to believe that the whole flashbacks serve a real purpose, and not just giving Andres/Pedro more screentime because he's a fan fave. Either way, the way they've kept painting Andres in flashbacks was so all over the place! I still think that the whole forking scene was added in so they could reiterate what a ~psycho he is, how ruthless and unstable etc because they'd painted him too nicely what with his "Ti Amo" serenade and his whole heavenly interactions with Martin (I would KILL for more of those btw). So in season 5, he's painted to be-- downright vile. Season 1 level of misogyny, an unrepenting asshole - you name it. 

I can't believe that Rafael didn't turn on his heels and leave without a word even before his own dad went "want to sleep with my wife? huh?" He should have said "fuck this" around the "I forgave you for being born" part, long before the whole diatribe about how baby Rafael destroyed his sex life. Yeah, Andres is unashamed of his assholishness, but what's Rafael's excuse to just-- take it??

Now, back to the last, and most important question you had - do I think that in part 2 the plan will get back its importance?

Yes. It's mostly hope on my part that once they get the shooting out of the way, they go back to that. Casa de Papel was never a downright action show; it was about a band of criminals outsmarting The System. It was about the Plan, and it was about the people. I can't accept that Pina forgot the core thing about the show he created, especially when it comes to wrapping it all up. 

My hope is that it will focus on the plan itself, on the hows and the whys; we'll get some more insight into how Martin is dealing with it. The Gold is also very important to him - on a cultural, maybe even personal level.

The plan, at least the way I see it, is the last thing he has of Andres. Once this is done, he can move on untethered, and be his own person. We've seen in that little scene from part 2 that he's showing signs of getting the reins back, as he should.

I keep remembering - "No solo amo a tu hermano, también amo el plan."

I hope we see him get to fulfill at least that love story.

Just saw a theory that Andres’ wish of little Berlins with Ariadna was foreshadowing and that maybe we’ll see his son or daughter with her and IM SHOOK. THE POSSIBILITIES. Martin would want to see the kid and leave it gold from the heist and tell them about their father and how he died a hero and was one of the best robbers in history. Maybe something happens to Ari or she gives it up for adoption and Martin and Mirko take it, give it a city name, raise it along with Cincinnati etc.

andrés having left behind a child is a very intriguing theory! and i love the idea of martín getting to meet them and so on but in my head, it would be from his first or second wife and would already be a teenager or young adult because as much of a good heart as martín has, i really don't believe he'd be good with children and helsi? i don't know 👀😂 but if it was a rebellious teenager with a soft heart, how could could that be?

So, it’s New Year’s Eve so I thought I would talk about some of my favorite movies to come out of 2019 and some of my most disappointing movies to come out of 2019 even though nobody cares.

5 favorite movies this year:

5: “The Irishman” directed by Martin Scorsese. I don’t have anything particularly notable to say about the Irishman other than its de-aging CG looked amazing. But I really liked this movie the only reason it’s not higher up on the list is because the plot was a bit too hard to follow for my baby brain.

4. “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” directed by Andre Øvredal (I’m so sorry André I really hope I spelled that right). I love this movie. It’s great. Everyone should watch it. It’s a movie I will watch every Halloween season for sure. The biggest compliment I can give it are the visuals. I can’t even describe how good the monsters look. But like we been knew.

3. “Us” directed by Jordan Peele. Jordan Peele is the Taika Watiti of horror and he’s gonna completely revolutionize the genre. I love this movie because (spoilers) everybody lives, it’s high concept done well and it shows that we as a society can still make good horror movies with good twists.

2. “El Camino” directed by Vince Gilligan. Since this movie came out so long after Breaking Bad came out it gave me the closure that I forgot I needed. After season 5 of BB we were all wondering what happened to Jesse but then we figured “welp guess we’ll never know” but now we DO and I’m super satisfied with where he ends up in the end, it’s what he deserves, but most of this movie is very sad and I like it very much. (It deserves an award for how it handled trauma btw)

1. “Joker” directed by Todd Philips yeah, yeah, I’m a basic bitch but I don’t care I like Joker and Joaquin Phoenix is fantastic in this movie and it’s very well-written. I know a lot of people don’t like it but . . . it was very satisfying to watch and it was an excellent theater experience due to its impeccable sound design and I know *some* of y’all hated it before you saw it because of the way some fans react to Joker as a character. 5. “Pet Sematary” directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer. The reason this movie is on this list is because it’s ending was really stupid and bad and the reason it’s not higher is because the rest of it was good.

4. “Child’s Play” directed by Lars Klevberg. No offense to anyone who liked this reboot but I can’t think of any Child’s Play fan who would enjoy Child’s Play 2019. Anyone who likes Chucky won’t like this version of Chucky which is such a shame because Mark Hamill is one of my favorite actors of all time and he did a great job as always I don’t blame him at all but the fact that he had to be in such a sucky movie is just sad.

3. “It 2” directed by Andrés Muschietti. Yeah It 2 was disappointing cause the whole point of them splitting it into two movies was so they wouldn’t have to jump from kids to adults so much and this movie focuses so much giving us backstory they forgot to give us in the previous movie that nothing I loved about the book is in this, or portrayed enough (the town being destroyed, Eddie Kaspbrak’s wife, AUDRA, Ben having character, the turtle, AUDRA) so yeah that’s why it’s on this list.

2. “Maleficent 2” directed by Joachim Rønning. This movie man . . . I am at some point going to type up more about why I don’t like it but just know that I adore the first Maleficent, it’s such a beautiful story and this movie lacks all the nuance and subtlety of its predecessor. Extremely disappointing.

1. “Rise of the Skywalker” directed by JJ Abrams. See I was wondering if I should wait till ROTS is no longer so fresh in our minds but fuck it. This movie is bad. As someone who loves TFA and TLJ ROTS is the weakest of the trilogy. I don’t wanna rip into it too much cause I have friends on here who like it but it’s chaotic and makes a lot of decisions I really don’t like. But it’s totally cool if people like it I know some people do I just personally did not feel like this resolved the sequel trilogy at all.

I can't really play the guitar but I try to, I can only play asleep by the smiths on piano and by the time I'm spending here writing this I already forgot the chord progression lol. 

 My favorite bands are the beatles, the smiths (morrissey's a cunt but...), blur (i love alex, dave, graham and the other dude who's kinda in gorillaz now?), oasis (nice to have both blur and oasis in the same setence lol) and arctic monkeys (no i do not only know am), i really like 60s (lowkey only know the beatles and some songs here and there but) and 80s music and sometimes listen to 50s as well, i'm well into britpop tho. i like dark humor so if i say something offensive keep in mind that i don't really mean any harm, it's a j-o-k-e, btw not relevant but i really like nardwuar, eric andre and tyler the creator. I'm pretty shy at first and honestly if i don't message you after we talk it's a 99% chance that it's because i'm too nervous to do it and not because i don't like you. I'm terribly bad at describing myself, mainly because I have no clue of who I am so I let personality tests on the internet do it for me! I'm an infp, 4w5, sanguine-melancholic :)

 I'm looking for someone who's into the same music as I am mainly, not really anything else. Yeah sure, it would've be nice if you're a good person but if you like the beatles i really don't care, I mean, john lennon beat his wife so (i'm so sorry lol). yep i’m griping about family again what’s new :P

1. Andre (asshole cousin’s kid we’re raising) messed with the brand new bucket of chlorine tablets we just bought days ago for $80, leaving the top off (which we’ve gotten on him about MANY times -- there’s no reason for him to mess with it anyway he just wants to) and there was a storm here last night.

I now have an $80 bucket of chlorine water. BTW, if you didn’t know, you can’t just dump that into the pool. I *have* to go buy a new $80 bucket and find some way of dumping what I currently have without damaging the trees, grass, etc. It’s heavy, so getting it into the house without bleaching my carpets will be fun.

2. Meagan (uncle’s wife’s daughter) went to the cell phone store because she wanted (didn’t need) an Android instead of the 6-month-old iPhone she insisted six months ago she NEEDED. Even though her Android at the time was fine.

I told her two weeks ago not to do anything until I we made sure it wasn’t going to mess things up because there’s 14 devices total on that account. I was thinking about getting a cell phone that’s just for the shop. One that the guys could use to accept credit cards when I wasn’t there. But I’ve since learned that we don’t need a separate phone and I can just put an app on their phones.

Before I could tell her that, she went yesterday and now has a Samsung Note 9. When I questioned her on the price, she said, “The guy said it was only $2 more a month.” I told her yeah the phone itself is maybe $2 more a month but the SERVICE for the phone is $22 ON TOP of what we’re already paying. She shrugged it off like it was nothing >:(

So not only is her phone now $73 a month, but I *still* don’t get the money because she gives it to my uncle, who then uses it himself. Oh, and he told her not t worry about it and keep paying $50 a month, for some reason. I think he’s feeling soft because she’s going through a divorce. A divorce, BTW, which was her doing because she wanted to dictate every moment of her husband’s life and when he didn’t do everything EXACTLY like she said, she slammed him with divorce papers.

3. Anyway she took my upgrade on my phone without asking. Charlie (my uncle) recently took my mom’s phone upgrade when he threw his phone in anger (insurance doesn’t cover that) and Dominic took my aunt’s phone upgrade when he claimed he lost his phone, then “found” it six days later after we set him up with the new cell phone he had been wanting for weeks.

Me, my mom, and my aunt all have phones that are over 3 years old and all of them need replacing because of issues, but if I try to upgrade them now, I’ll need to pay full price because Meagan, Charlie, and Dominic took our upgrades. Oh, and don’t forget they used their own upgrades just months ago for new phones.

Last night Marissa texted me to rave about Meagan’s new phone and how “it’s so nice I could really use one of those!” I managed to keep my cool. She’s had her current phone for 8 months and it just got back from the repair shop after she kept going hiking with it in her bra and got it so hot (120-degree weather + sweat) that the battery expanded.

4. Andre doesn’t have a tablet, cell phone, computer/laptop, or hand-held gaming system because he just keeps destroying them and I couldn’t afford to keep up with it. But now the school REQUIRES him to have some type of device to access homework, scheduling, and other school stuff.

WHY the fuck would you require that?! You just up and decided I needed to buy this kid a device he’s going to destroy within just a few weeks?! Are you going to pay for a new one every time he destroys one? Are you going to deal with all the shit he buys with it when he figures out my uncle’s Amazon password again?! Are you going to patiently teach him how to use the system and deal with the fact he hides homework and needs to be monitored closely even just to maintain a C average because he just doesn’t give a fuck about consequences or school or anything?!

I constantly feel like I’m holding the kid back by not letting him have those devices. He’s of a generation where familiarity with electronics is a must, and yet I just can’t. He doesn’t care enough about anything to NOT destroy them. So what am I supposed to do with a school that insists he use one on a daily basis? And not just for extracurricular activities, but for work that highly impacts his grade?!

Does someone wanna buy a kid or two? Or adopt me? or kill a few members of my family for me
