New chapter of Put It In Reverse For Thirst: a post-canon story in which Viktor gives the Eros costume a kinky revamp

If you're a Yuri!!! on Ice fan that enjoys meta concepts, you might enjoy my fic Put It In Reverse For Thirst: a post-canon story (Explicit, currently 30K words) in which married Viktuuri read and roleplay -- attempt to roleplay, rather -- their sappy/smutty role-reversal fanfic.

I just uploaded the second to last chapter, which kicks off the first half of a longggg NSFW conclusion that features Dom Yuuri putting his husband's willpower to the test.

This story has a little bit of everything:

Viktor wearing a kinky revamp of the Eros costume (after paying his longtime designer a stupid amount of money to construct a collar/wrist restraints on it, among other things)

“So polite. Of course, Vitya,” Yuuri promptly replied, his tone much sunnier, now. “I asked you if you want a reward, afterwards? For being good.”

Viktor assented before the sentence even finished.

Pulse (AKA Kairo) - Extremely close to my heart, the way loneliness relates to the internet & technology in general is such an interesting topic it would be enough to make this movie stand out for anyone, but I have such a personal fondness for it because of how much I felt it understood me. Pearl - IDGAF how many people have gone "just like me fr" cause I am also one of them. I don't get the whole "female rage" thing that gets mentioned a ton (on account of me being some guy), but the theme of never being able to escape a life you hate ??? Ringu - Just a classic. So creepy I have to hype myself up to watch it LOL

Persona - INSAAAAANE INSANE INSANE. I saw someone say it's toxic yuri which like. Yeah I think. But also it left me confused in a rly good way

Noroi: The Curse - honestly should be self-explanatory @ this point. GENUINELY scared the shit outta me

Repulsion - Also a drama (besides a horror), the way the main character's paranoia escalates is just .... haunting, I think is the word. There's some degree of irony in here, because of who the director is, that I can't really articulate.

Gorefest / not too serious:

Creep - INSANE found footage about a guy making decisions that seem questionable if not stupid to most people, but not to me. I understand him. (disclaimer that this one could also go in the prev. category ..... I don't knowwww)

Intruder - I was on a slasher kick a few years back and this was one of the better ones. The convenience store setting is so much fun & something I'd never seen before! Or since.

Rec - SOOOO anxiety inducing, there's a lot of moments where people r talking/yelling over each other & the part towards the end that explains the whole thing is just. 0_0. to me. Bc it's among the top 3 things I do NOT fuck with !!! (same disclaimer as w/ Creep).

Hostel - I actually really like this one & don't understand most of the criticisms besides the obvious misogyny. It irks me a lot that it gets called "torture porn" so often when it's just … not that bad ? As edgy as that sounds !!

Cube - go there. in the cube? go in the cube.

The Poughkeepsie Tapes - Zero excuses for this one, you just gotta embrace your shit taste sometimes

Terrifier - Separate from the 2nd one cause that one is different in more than a few ways ..... but this one is just like charming to me in a weird way. It 's fucking filthy like, visually tho cause of the abandoned building & other such things ....

Terrifier 2 - This one I also enjoyed a lot though it IS really really long, I found it fun! The whole family aspect of it I liked a lot bc fictional siblings my beloved :3 though Art's backstory is still rly muddy (4 me at least) I do think it's like, a fun silly slasher if you've got 2 hrs and a lot of patience LOL

I'm raising my Voice (of Cards) Divine Yurie Analysis Post

Part 1: Akeha // Part 2: 063y

Voice of Cards: Forsaken Maiden Spoilers below!

If this ends up being true Voice of Cards will eventually be the second most referenced Drakenier game despite never having an actual crossover event... and don't worry, I also don't really know if I believe any of this, but I will get into that shortly.

If we follow along what is potentially Yuki Wada's crazy reference to that other game he wrote, Yurie's costume is likely inspired by the [Black] Spirit (I don't know the correct english VoC localization terms, I only know that White is Ivory) (for a better picture of the spirit see 063y's post)

Notable Details include:

She has claws, like the Black Spirit Serpent

The colors of the outfit are predominantly black and a golden brown and it features a lot of draping fabrics, like the fabrics hanging off the Black Spirit Serpent

The design on her cowl is 100% supposed to look like a crown (which all of the Spirits in FM have)

But is that enough? Am I ready to say "Three times is a pattern, this is a thing"? Well... My current position is that I do think it makes more sense if this is what's going on, but I'm still not 100% sold on it. It does seem to me like the draft was "Make these costumes inspired by the gods in VoC:FM but feel free to make it as vague as you want we don't really want people to notice it too much."

But there are just enough little details that I don't think they would have gone for without these references as a basis to the designs. Like why does Yurie have claws? What about monster claws is "Divine"? I know there are cultures where long nails are religiously significant, but if that was what they were going for I feel like they would look different. And why is Akeha's outfit so grey? I would assume if it wasn't for Lac they would have chosen a different color instead of a 70% grey, that's really not a particularly "Divine" Color, is it?

I will probably make my final verdict with the next design though, since if these costumes are actually based on VoC then it should be obvious with the next one. With only the blue and red spirits still missing the usage of those colors should be noticeable, especially since this outfit line hasn't been particularly colorful yet.

Anyways, even if they aren't based on VoC, I really love these outfits, Yurie's especially. I love the use of white in this one and I'm always a sucker for medieval-ish puff sleeves combined with modern aesthetics. (Also can we talk about how the design sheet says "The circular object [...] was designed with symbolism in mind" and it's just a halo, which is like... duh. A lovely meaningless phrase that will 100% enter my every-day vocabulary.)

The Weapon story reminds me of something one of my favorite video essayists Biz Barclay talked about (I think in her video about Midnight Mass? But I'm not sure and it's too long to "check real quick") in reference to the Binding of Isaac (not the game, the thing from the bible) - but I haven't watched that video in a while and I don't want to put words in her mouth so I will just encourage you to watch her stuff, she's great!

From a Voice of Cards perspective the stories (as with the other ones) don't really interact with VoC at all so we can just ignore them, I just wanted to put them here in case you want to read them.

(Patricia anon) Funny you mention Hellene because just after I sent the ask i realized she's kind of similar with Hellene and.. Desmond too, after all they both wanted Zephiel dead and Patricia didn't mind to getting Deemitri killed if it meant she could be reunited with Her REAL child. They aren't to the exact same extent but still i thought it was a little amusing.

Again on your answer i always found it weird that Egg never mentions her mother, at all? I thought it was only me but I'm glad you mentioned sometimes i geniuenly forget Ionius isn't her only family. Deemitri steals someone's patents again because obviously Patricia left more impact on Dimitri than her real daughter /s

The time line is fucked up but at this point everything in Fódlan is fucked up i'm not surprised (in my mind i thought patty and lambert met when she and egg were taken to the kingdom? Again timeline is weird) Fódlan games Tries to make everything a tragedy but only half of it works because they make the weirdest decisions with it or don't handle it well (Egg's experiments obviously, the game trying so hard to make the player feel bad for Randy and Fletcher)

IIRC Helen didn't want Zephiel dead, since he's her son and her key to the throne, but Eli chews her out because she only Zeph as a means to the throne, instead of, you know, her son.

Deemitri is so evil, he keeps on stealing parents :(

As I understand it, Patricia disappeared to the Kingdom and married Lambert. Then Supreme Leader left with Uncle and joined Patricia, but Uncle was Mole’d so Supreme Leader spent some time in Faerghus, but Patricia never knew her daughter was here (or she knew but couldn’t see her??). Then Supreme Leader returns home with Uncle, and Patricia plans her bonfire.

The game doesn't want you to think about the Adrestian Imperial Family's politics, because else it would mean looking at Ionius's legitimate wife (the one he married and who isn't a consort) and what happened to her when Supreme Leader took the throne, maybe she went away on her own to start a bakery in Nuvelle?

The games wants to paint Adrestia and its situation as a tragedy, but conveniently forgets 70% of the cast to make sure Supreme Leader is never questioned, like her luf story about Ionius wooing Anselma when they were both at the Academy and her siblings that directly put a dent in Hubert's very own backstory (and to a lesser extent, Ferdie's) and we could have had a story where Supreme Leader thinks her step-mother engineered, with Aegir if she wants, the Insurrection because Ionius "lufed" other women, or something? Or she wanted to get rid of the heirs Ionius favoured over hers, but in the process, her own kid died and Edel rekts her?

Just like Claude before Nopes could have given us a glimpse of "what if a child from a large family was neglected and ignored and decided to prove his worth" but then Nopes sort of erased it to bully Shahid instead - Supreme Leader navigating in Adrestia's harem and its web of conspiracies could have been more interesting than what we got!

But no, instead we have Supreme Leader being the only Hresvelg Heir with a claim on the throne - which is loltastic when we know the consort system existed before Ionuis and if Supreme Leader had around 10 sibs then maybe Ionius also had around 10 sibs thus she’d have cousins too??? - she launches a coup, some people are not super happy but they are Baldo’d off-screen and uwu she can finally start her war of conquest and victim blame the imbeciles who dare to resist.

I agree about the fake “Tragedies” the game tried to sell, imo the Miklan sobfest never hit home, especially with Yuri who adds his escapades with women, just like Marianne’s or, to an extent, Claude.

The only “Tragedy” I was interested in was the Red Canyon and the Relics, but bar Hilda calling what remains of Flayn’s older aunt “gross” no one gives a fuck about that - and Cyril being an ex-slave is handwaved with “duh it wasn’t me who captured your people to turn them into servants so we won’t talk about it anymore”.

I think that’s why people really love the BL gang, because the Tragedy of Duscur is the “tragedy” the Fodlan games developped the most, especially on the consequences it had on characters, and it’s not as foggy as “my siblings no one knew of died and my dad couldn’t fuck people anymore and I think the bald fat guy threw me in a cell and my mom also disappeared but I’m sure a gecko pushed her off from a cliff that’s why Rhea BaD and the lizard illuminati shouldn’t control the world anymore but uncle also sided with the fatso who put me in jail and tortured me but i still hate those pesky lizards more than uncle to the lizards go first and then uncle and his scientific division who used my siblings as guinea pigs and the people i’m supposed to protect but I really really wanted to eat sweets and laze all day”.

The Executioner and Her Way of Life LN thoughts!

So I ordered this book series (6 books released and translated at time of posting) basically on a whim because it looked like a somewhat serious fantasy story with yuri. But it turned out to not be too bad an idea to act on that whim! I'm going to try not get too spoilery when I do my summary, but that is a little unavoidable, so I apologise in advance! That said, I am going to go into stuff of a spoilery nature at the end. And hopefully I remember everything well, as I only finished this series 2 weeks ago. To to sum up, The Executioner and Her Way of Life is about our protagonist, Menou! The world is your typical Isekai fantasy world with it's own (Kind of weird honestly) power system. Except unlike most isekai, our protagonist is a native resident of this world. She's an Executioner! (Duh..), who's main job is to hunt taboo entities, which largely consists of otherworlers! Yup! this world has a whole profession dedicated to taking out this OP isekai protagonists before they get to cause any trouble in this world. Which has happened on numerous occasions, being disasters leaving large portions of the world uninhabitable. When an otherworlder reaches this point they are called a "Human Error". Which honestly i think is a pretty cool term. Obviously, things are not quite as simple as "all otherworlders are bad guys, and our protagonist is a hero." She herself is constantly calling herself a villain. Not to mention that executioners are trained and employed by this world's leading religious church group, The Faust. That NEVER means good things in a fantasy setting.

So our main characters areeee; Menou, obviously. The self proclaimed pure, proper villainous priestess. her only real stand out quality is that she is a massive unwitting yuri magnet, that basically every female character in this series thinks is beautiful and some more subtly than others are always trying to come onto her. Beyond that she's a little bland. However without going into spoilers, that's not without reason. Momo. Menou's psycho girlfriend. Uh. I mean, Menou's extremely capable and eager assistant. A young girl who is basically a berserker with 0 skill but game breaking strength. Her only interest in the entire world is Menou. Which can be entertaining but sometimes gets repetitive. Ashuna, the knight princess. Who... for a paper thin fanservice reason of a deep love for the human body in peak form, basically always dresses in clothes that really don't cover much more than undies. She's kind of cool but at least by book 6, is as fairly one dimensional as Momo, in that she mostly just likes Momo. Akari. The otherworlder with powers revolving around time. Has literally no interest in the world besides Menou, who is trying to kill her, but is unable to because any time she doesn, her time powers activate automatically and revert her to a state where she was not dead. Her main role in this story is for Menou to get attached to her, becoming unwilling to kill her, and questioning her place in the world, or you could even say... Questioning her way of life? Ha! No that was bad. There areeee more characters but most aren't in it too long. The one exception is Pandæmonium. An all powerful full chaotic evil immortal little girl. She's super freaky, but fun to read. She's the one thing that makes me disappointed that i can't watch the anime anywhere. So things i like aree..... An interesting take on the isekai genre. A sort of villain protagonist. A cool antagonist in Pandaemonium. The occasional art pages by Nilitsu were pretty cool. Half an interesting power system. Why is spoilery though. Sort of yuri vibes. But that leads me tooooo Things i didn't like. Vague yuri vibes that don't really ever go anywhere. There's just lots of girls being all hot for Menou. It's pretty out of nowhere and unsatisfying because there's not even any romance to it, and it's entirely one-sided in every case. So it's kind of yuri bait. Again, the power system. Any time someone uses a spell, there's a load of weird fantasy jargon to read that means very little, and is kind of just space filler on the page, and i started to just skip over it because it was mind-numbing to read. And the whole power system with the earthen and astral vein feels very hand-wavey to me.

So a lot of what i did actually enjoy about this is kind of spoilery, so it might seem like i have more negative to say than positive, but i swear, i did enjoy it enough to buy volume 7 when it comes out!!! It wasn't like, mind blowing or genre changing, nor did it have particularly unique characters, but it is a good time. I'd give it a solid 7/10.

Now! I'm going to try something different here so i can talk a little about what actually happens, so FROM HERE ON IN, THERE WILL ABSOLUTELY BE MAJOR SPOILERS! Just this way i can go into more details about what i do and don't like. So i found the idea of pure concepts being basically added to the world's accessible skill list whenever an otherworlder gets to Human Error status. That's the part of this series' power system. That's very interesting. However with how many different abilities are used, it kind of makes it super iffy how many otherworlders were summoned and then made to lose themselves just so the world's skill list could be increased (yes, i am simplifying this process.) But it's even worse when you consider how many otherworlders are just immediately killed off after their pure concept is deemed worthless, despite them being summoned against their will. But I mean, that's kind of the point. The Faust be super shady. Anyway, definitely an interesting concept. Another thing i really liked was Pandæmoniumin general. Her whole concept of original sin is actually written as genuinely horrifying, like her ability to sacrifice herself to summon herself. So anytime she dies, she just bursts out of the old corpse. It extreme detail. Super gross, but super interesting. I love a villain who is bad for no big grand reason. She's basically driven by the need for entertainment. I like the idea of this. Very cool.

Now some stuff i didn't like. So i said before Menou's character is kinda bland. And they keep going on about how her whole existence was bleached white and all that. Which really makes the whole reveal that she was created by Ivory become more like a "Yeah duh" kind of reveal. Like as early as volume 2 of the LN, i had suspicions that she was at very least, ivory with amnesia. Which isn't that far off the mark.

Okay! That's it for spoilery stuff. Like i was saying, not particularly genre changing, but for sure a fun read. Especially any parts with Pandæmonium. I'm not into gory stuff, but i do love me some unhinged baddies.

For one thing, he couldn't seem to sit still long enough to do it.

The phone rang. Yolanda. She didn't call often. Yuri considered ignoring it, then worried maybe something was wrong.

"Hey, Yolanda. Everything okay?"

"Sure, we're all fine. I was just talking to Mom."

Why did I answer the phone? He didn't want to think about his family right now. He didn't want to exchange pleasantries. He wanted to work on the house he was building for himself and Tahiya. It was the only activity that seemed to steady him somewhat.

Maybe Yolanda could sense his irritation, because abruptly she came to the point:

"I heard you're having an affair with an Egyptian woman."

His rebellious side flared immediately. "So what if I am? And who'd you hear that from? I haven't--"

"Mom," said Yolanda. "Duh? She has business contacts all over the world now that she's running the company."

So the locals were talking. Great.

"Enya doesn't know," Yolanda added. "I mean, none of us has told her. Mom wanted me to talk to you first."

Yuri couldn't stand it. "Stay out of my business, Yolanda, for fuck's sake! Telling my wife?! Why would you even--"

"Calm down," Yolanda said. "Mom just wanted to know what your plans are, I think. You know, monetarily."

Yuri snorted.

"It's always about money with her."

"Yup," said Yolanda. This was a rant she'd heard many times, Yuri knew, because he had made it many times; but he couldn't stop himself.

"FUCK money. This has nothing to do with money! This is about my happiness, okay? My life, not Mom's. Not yours either!"

"And definitely not Dad's, right?"

Oh. Oh, she didn't.

"Yolanda," Yuri said after a moment, "I hope you didn't just compare me to Guy. Because I am nothing--"

Yolanda interrupted him.

"I mean, you're something like him now, Yuri, because you're cheating on your wife."

"Just like Dad," Yolanda added, as if the comparison weren't perfectly clear. "I don't make the rules, Yuri."

He wanted to throw his phone off the roof and into the Nile.

"Tell Mom," he said finally, "that this is none of her fucking business. But for your information, Yolanda, I am nothing like my father. Nothing. Guy turned into a sleaze the second we moved into Dragon Valley--and it's not that he 'cheated on Mom,' Yolanda, because that makes it sound like a one-time thing, and you know it wasn't."

"I know." This, too, was well-trod conversational ground between them, but again, Yuri couldn't stop himself.

"it's that he quit doing anything else besides sometimes going to work and all the time chasing women. I don't know why Mom puts up with it! He's--"

"He's different from you how, exactly?"

"Here's the difference," Yuri said angrily, "I'm correcting a mistake I made long ago to finally marry the woman of my dreams."

"How is she the woman of your dreams if you only just met her?" Yolanda asked, and Yuri could tell she was laughing at him, which only enraged him more.

He would ignore the question. Be like water. Moving on!

"I will tell Enya as soon as I'm home in a couple of days that it's over, and I will make every effort to provide for her and the kids--"

"Noble of you," Yolanda said.

"--but then that's it. That's where it ends! I'm not going to have multiple hookups with multiple women that I only half-assedly try to hide from my wife, then hope she agrees to look the other way. I'm going to be honest with Enya, because she deserves that and because, unlike our father, I am a man of integrity. Look--I love her, Yolanda! Just not in the way that I love Tahiya."

Yolanda sighed.

"So it's serious."

"Entirely," Yuri said, and ended the call before he could say anything else he might regret.

He had said too much already, but not, he thought, without provocation.

His mother! Yolanda! What in the meddling-ass hell--did other men put up with this?! Surely not? Had Che Guevara's mother--

His phone rang again: Yelena. We're not doing this!

Yuri declined the call.

Then he went through his contacts and furiously blocked every member of his family except Enya and the kids.

I’m sorry for asking, but I thought I could ask - since it involves Yuri Ivanovich my detested (affectionate).

I’ve watched (questionable) the YouTube uploads using the auto translate and while confused for most of it, I wanted to ask - what was the gist of Yuri’s speech (?) in the 24th episode of season 2? Some parts weren’t translating well, and I’m taking it as affection/admiration of Vasily?

So I haven't actually seen most of s2 (just the movie) but the last scene was so touching that a couple years ago my friend who introduced me to the series translated it for me - but they translated the Chinese translation! Crazy how connected the world is, right? From what I know now, it matches up pretty well with the Russian words. However, this also doesn't get his whole speech - I'll add more details, and what I have rn, under the cut

Spoilers! (Duh)

So basically from what I've gathered, Chuyko starts off by revealing what happened in s2 to pit the oligarchs against each other, and then how Goloborodko helped hide him away in Europe. But then, I guess, he sees Vasily's sad sad puppydog eyes and realizes something. So he goes back out and, when the commentators ask if he's telling the truth, he says:

"Truth has many different forms. We discuss this truth, we fear another. What do you think of this truth? Why did Vasily Petrovich do that [refuse the IMF loan]? Why did he go against his principles and choose to lie? Is this for someone or something? For his own interests? No. He did it for the people.

"What happened? The people turned around and crucified him. That’s the cruel truth. For the first time in 25 years, maybe even since the birth of this nation, such a righteous man appeared. Such a righteous governor, is that not the truth? That’s the truth.

"What a country filled with masochists, stepping on the same rake every time, hitting their own stubborn head with it. That’s also the truth. If you still can’t believe it, let me tell you, a dead man who crawled out of hell, Yuri Ivanovich Chuyko. Seeing what’s happening here, I really want to die again. I’m leaving."

As you can imagine, this drove me mildly insane.
