Keeping up with friends

I don't do Every day talking unless you are VERY specific friends I have known for literal years. And thats only because I know they will give me breathing room, respectful if I dont respond snappy and am slow, are interested in what im up to rather than being like "yo heres some memes" so we can talk about smth im currently into. I dont mind the random meme dumps dont get me wrong. By all means go ahead. I will do it or video dumps back to let you know im thinking of you. But dont get mad if I dont have much to say.

If you want to chat, come to me with a topic. Just like if I want to chat I come to you. Now I will be more likely to chat in a GROUP than one on one because I might want to talk about the same topic with multiple people. I dont DO individual DMs very often. even those I talk to every day are in mini group dms. Individual dms are for privacy in case of emergency or for those who despise groups.

It takes a LOT of spoons, a lot of energy to keep up multiple private chats and I need people to understand that.

I have so much going on in my life, so many people and situations to deal with, so many creative projects on my plate. That I only have maybe 3 - 5 days per month where im free to interact with friends. I have 52 friends at this point. Do you see the problem here? Individual DMs / chats are not feasible when I have this much to manage.

"But you're on xyz game" I multi task, if im on a game its literally to manage my sanity. I garuntee you that its mostly just sitting in the background looking pretty rather than being played unless im eating at the same time taking a food break.

Chatting stresses me out, people stress me out, it expends energy to chat. More so if I have other things on my plate at the time. Im not trying to be rude or ignore you. However I live with 3 people who watch everything I do constantly and are always trying to interact with me. I have 0 privacy, rarely have time to myself because when its not my family. its my friends because I have to micromanage so much in my life and have responsibilities piled on my shoulders a mile high.

"but you dont work / are disabled" I'm aware of that. However I have to help take care of my older siblings. I have to take care of my friends, I have to deal with every friend fight or emergency. All the while dealing with anxiety and depression of my own on a daily basis. Feeling lonely and isolated which im sorry simping over astarions a** with you does not fill that void. So before im asked no chatting online will not help with that when im surrounded by stress. responsibilities and a lack of affection IRL. I am literally an unpaid faux therapist and unpaid replacement mother for almost all my friends and for my own family. Yet im the youngest. and all of this is while I have to manage deal with and dodge around PTSD triggers and even epilepsy triggers every day and deal with chronic pains and illnesses. I'm not trying to be a b*tch but reality is. if you want an always there for fun times readily available friend.

Im not for you. I can't be, my circumstances and body literally will not allow me to be. I will be there for an emergency or issue in a heartbeat don't get me wrong. But I might only talk to most people once a month unless we're in group chats.

kind of obsessed w how many notes im getting rn on posts I made like 3 minutes into joining radblr, but here goes

I said this because I had just hit peak trans (I have been a transactivist for 5+ years. I was identifying as non-binary. I majored in and got a degree in women’s studies that leaned heavily towards “Queer/gender” studies, especially by the time I left. There was a new major created (that I took several classes in) called the Queer studies multidisciplinary dept at my college. most if not all of my friends identify as trans and/or non-binary. (We’re talking like 7 people just in my immediate close friends circle. others I was close with in school too, in classes and outside of class. On a daily basis I was in community with over 30 trans/non-binary people. not to mention the rest at my school. It’s a very popular thing there). My current roommate is trans as well. We bonded over that, and in our last apartment we even lived with 2 other people who identified as non-binary. I am well-versed in online and offline discourse around trans issues. The second u peak trans none of that goes away, it just becomes relevant in a different sense. I can only speak to my experience of course, but upon “meeting” other women on or around radblr (including 2 women I’m friends with irl who also peaked), I realized that i could put words to things I before would not have felt comfortable questioning. One of those things is the fact that I felt less worthy, seen, listened to, confident in my opinions/voice, and I and all my other friends prioritized the needs of the males (“AMABs”) in our community. Bar none. It was always the case. It was easy for me to see, once I peaked, that I fell into this precisely because I felt that way already about myself and my voice, and felt the opposite about males. I stopped identifying as any flavor of feminist halfway through my trans journey because I was like fuck that, women had their time. We can vote now etc and women can be abusers. My mom was fucked up. It’s not just men. Who needs feminism anymore? I got stuck in this weird privileged USAmerican academic headspace where I lost all sense of awareness of women’s issues globally, because I was believing a lie that I no longer faced misogyny - because if I did, I was being wrongly misgendered - I was not a woman.

all this to say, to respond to ur actual tags, this is the reason I said y’all don’t think women are real, I was commenting on my own prior opinions, and those of my friends, and ALL of the people I followed online who said the same things. we were/are all parroting the same script about gender: afabs are no longer called “women.” they have too much “cis privilege” for that - real women are trans women. They are who we should center. So no maybe if you took what I said literally you must clearly know women exist (interestingly enough, radfems are the same way toward trans people. we know we all obviously EXIST. It’s just a question of the language we use and the ideologies behind those choices.)

now, when I want to refer to women like myself, my mother, my cousin, my aunt, my friend, my coworker, and talk about our similarities and things we face on a daily basis as “women”, I am going to be corrected and told “you mean CIS women.“ when I refer to trans women as trans women (like chimamanda adichie famously did), I will be, like she is, referred to as a TERF. when I stand up for what I believe, kinda like I’m doing now, I will be called a cunt. No matter what I say, I will be called a bitch. jokingly, endearingly, or otherwise. Other women and girls read things too. They will see that and maybe think, like I did, that the word woman is over, it’s cancelled. There isn’t anything we have in common, because we can’t talk about our genitals: thats perverse and obsessive. she’ll think, maybe I should just keep quiet and not talk about it. Try not to think about it. and then when she has ideas about herself or her appearance or her sexuality she will be told, hey have u ever thought maybe you’re non-binary? Ever considered u might be trans? and she will ponder it for awhile and soon after hearing it enough, she will think “Yeah probably. No harm in trying it out!” and then she will no longer “be” a woman either. Her ”identity” is no longer woman. As a woman, she doesn’t think she exists. And you’d agree: she is not a woman. That’s what I’m talking about

I love the TRA argument “terfs don’t think trans people are real/exist” ok … uno reverse card YOU don’t think WOMEN are real. You don’t believe women, as a category, can or should exist. And you fight women who care about other women.

I’m currently using a coconut shampoo, but it smells more floral to me.

Oh yikes...I’d say my aesthetic is pretty much just ‘gay artistic trash.’ it changes pretty much on the daily, but pastels and anything soft and floral take precedence. 

what’s your favorite time of the day and why?

I would have to say sunset, just the general time of day where the clouds kinda look like stretched cotton balls and everything’s golden and cozy.

...don’t hate me, but I’m not a huge fan of the beach. I do like the warmth of the sand, though.

I worry a lot about new social situations irl and trying new things, tbh.

Listen to music, spend time with pets if you have them, drink something warm. And to second the individual who tagged me -- nothing is ever wrong with weed. 

what are some things that make you tear up?

If a dog dies or there’s a mention of a dog dying in anything, I’m out. I cry very easily. Hell, I cry often over just how damn cute my girlfriend is. I cry over k-pop sometimes, I cry over how much I love my friends, I cry when I’m angry or in an argument. I’m a baby tbh. 

what is your favorite from each of the five senses?

sight: This is gonna sound cheesy, but my girlfriend, oops. There’s nothing better than her smile or when she does the cutest thing when she’s wearing a sweater and flops the sleeves around like a dumbass.  

smell: The smell of rain on the stones of my front walk at home. 

touch: Petting anything soft, especially a happy dog. 

taste: Anything vanilla and not too sweet. 

sound: There’s honestly nothing better than the sound of a somewhat dry paintbrush on canvas, or the ticking of a dog’s claws on wood.

One in which there are equal rights for everyone, no prejudices, no violence. 

what are some troubles you face on a day to day basis?

Finding the motivation to do things, particularly art...even when I have muse, I oftentimes can’t bring myself to bring a pencil to paper if I feel like I’ll mess it up. I’m also incredibly self critical of my writing and anything I produce creatively, so there’s that.

Oddly enough, books don’t really get to me? Nothing is immediately coming to mind, which sounds somewhat odd to me now.

i saw a thread of information abt the suspected nine members before they were officially announced and was like ‘yes i must stan them and love them with all of my heart.’ so uh,,,,, back in august or september??

2: What is your favorite episode of Stray Kids? uhm, i’m gonna expose myself rn and let y’all know that i’ve never actually seen a full episode of the show; as soon as i heard it was gonna be a survival show, i knew that i couldn’t watch it bc my heart was too weak and i was emotionally incapable of becoming too invested while watching it; but from clips, i quite like the episode with the 3:3:3 mission, and also the last episode when all nine were reunited and told they were going to debut together

my initial one was chan, and they i got rlly confused, and then slowly came to realize that it was jeongin (anything else after that is a fucking mess)

literally kill me all of them bias wreck me so hard bUT hyunjin, jisung, seungmin, and chan have been wrecking me so hard in particular lately

how proud of them i am, and how proud of themselves they should be; i would tell them about how they’re saying things that resonate deeply for their fans and i love that they’re talking abt real world problems; i would also make sure to tell them (chan and 3racha especially) to make sure to rest more, and eat well, and take care of themselves emotionally as well as physically; and finally i’d like to tell jeongin how wonderful he is and that he’s doing so much at such a young age (lmao he’s actually eight months older than me but that’s no the point) and to never lose his cute little smile

Rain or snow ?

Rain, hands down. Snow is just pretty, covers the ground beautifully in white and then melts away. But Rain, rain enhances that smell of earth I love so much and brings forth memories of the time I used to sit on my balcony with a cup of tea, hot bajjis and my friends from college days.

What is/was your favourite subject at school ?

History. I used to finish reading each lesson as if I was reading a story book before our teacher was even half way through it. I used to be the cause of her headache, she almost always took my book away each time so I won’t do it. And Art, we had an art professor who was the first one to take notice of my sketching talents and helped me improve it. In one way or the other, its because of them that I am a Conservation Architect today!!

How would you rate your own blog ?

11/10. It needs a little more organizing and I will give it a fifteen :P 

What is the most comforting smell for you ?

Smell of well washed pure cotton fabrics... reminds me of my mumma.

Happens on a daily basis really... do you want to hear about the time I almost sat on Rana’s lap and scared him enough that he chose to sit on top of the armrest of the couch instead; or when I got locked out in the utility room of my house by my own silliness, without my mobile on me and had to wait till my flatmate (and the rest of my friends) came home and opened the door while I smiled at them like a dork from the other side of the glass door; or that one time I was standing on my terrace watching a meteor shower and my mum thought I was doing some kind of pagan ritual and took a video of it cause I was dancing around with a long stick in my hand facing up at the sky, while I was actually hopping in circles and spinning the stick around myself to escape mosquitoes... 

Last book that you read and fell in love with.

The Great Derangement by Amitav Ghosh. Its the first of his non-fiction works I read and wow, it made me think deep and agree with his point that future history will call our period the most deranged of all times. Its about climate disaster and a must read in my opinion, I’m glad I picked it up at the airport while I was bored. With that said, his The Hungry Tide is one of my favourite books.

Would you say that you’re popular in real life ?

Yep, yes. People find my (child like) enthusiasm contagious and I can listen better than I talk (that’s what my friends say). So yeah, I’m kind of always surrounded by people mostly... unless I push them away myself to breathe.

Um... anklets? Oh no, I love bangles. Although, I barely wear any accessories. Its a surprise if I wear anything more than my usual earrings.

If you were given a chance to play God for a day, what would you do?

Kill off everyone I think that don’t deserve to live (you know who, mostly all those politicians). Save every child from disease and dying. Change people’s mindset and make them think about saving the Earth instead of destroying it. Make Harry Potter world exist for real. Read every book in the world if it was possible... and wish all of this could happen with a single snap of my fingers.

My family is from the Chettinad region of Tamil Nadu and during weddings which mostly happens in our ancestral houses, the groom ties three different thaalis (mangal sutras) around the bride’s neck. And its like small, medium and large in size - like the cups we request at Starbucks... I find that extremely funny by the way!!

What part of the day do you look forward to and why?

Night. I love the stars. They make me wonder how much of a lie time is. The one twinkling cheerfully at me, does it still brighten up the galaxy or has it faded long back and I’m just seeing the ghost of its life standing this far away... 

If given a chance to swap lives with someone, whom would you choose?

No one. I love my life, I’d pass that chance on.

Oh my god, the last two movies I watched was Aramm and Nene Raju Nene Mantri (re watch). Nayanthara and Rana’s roles swapped would be epic on one hand but also disastrous?? Like the corrupt Jogendra in Aramm scenario might have not done anything about the child, or that child could have been his redemption and he might have turned out to be better, I honestly don’t know... Now Madhivadhani in NRNM, I think we will get to see that madness for real in Aramm 2 when it releases. Although, she is a no-shit no-nonsense person and has her heart and mind in the right place (unlike Jogendra) !!!

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

Anywhere with my family around. Actually, some place that’s cold enough and has a beach. And of course, my family!!

There’s a book called “ஏழு தலை நகரம்” (ezhu thalai nagaram - seven headed city) in Tamil by S. Ramakrishnan. I would make that into a film for children.

Uh? I am a vegan blog....I dont know what you mean by pro vegan I would argue most of my posts are pro vegan? What specific posts did you have in mind to classify as pro vegan?I am sorry am I getting attacked here for not being a big enough advocate on my own damn blog? Okay first off this blog was made whenever like a year or more ago and was left dormant for awhile if you go into my archive you’ll see I didnt post regularly recently I’ve started using it again. During that time I’d gotten a twitter I got into a lot of twitter discussion debates and outright arguments defending veganism and being ‘pro vegan’ as you put it.It drained the fuck out of me it made me angry and feel sad and disheartened at how people had no empathy so if you mean you can’t see me arguing with carnists on a daily basis on this blog then no you will not find any arguing on this blog or you’ll find minimal amounts of it.Honestly this blog is my nice place to talk to OTHER vegans okay.
