posts about how humans are the "weirdest" species in the Universe, the "hold my beer" species so to speak, are also riddled with human-centric arrogance, in my opinion. Yeah funny joke haha humans are so weird, but like are we? We've never met aliens before, so how the fuck would we know? I don't know, they just irk me personally, 'cause I don't find humans the most remarkable or weird species on Earth, let alone in the entire fucking universe 🙃🙃🙃
#trash king rants#I don't *hate* human beings I want to make that clear#I just don't think we're all that remarkable#we're a slightly more intelligent ape that is actively and knowingly destroying our habitat#and yeah yeah ''it's the men in power destroying the planet'' those are still humans#I think it's my thing where I don't like assuming what others think or feel#and that's with other *humans* let alone an entire theoretical extraterrestrial race we know literally nothing about

So. I watched Avatar the way of water
so you don't have to. hear my thoughts about it and then decide for yourself
Entails spoilers but that doesn't really matter because the scenario is at a solid twenty three on a 0-10 predictability scale.
Okay so, first things first.
The movie is stunning.
The special effects teams did an awesome, terrific, 11/10 job and I thought to myself "AI could never." Every plant, every flower, every creature felt like a living, breathing organism. The planet's ecosystems felt coherent and beautiful and alive. I had chills at some scenes purely because they were absolutely absolutely breathtaking. There are details in the morphology of different Na'vis, from the skin patterns to the development of the limbs, etc... And I honestly think 95% of the world building can be attributed to the special effects teams working on the movie.
And the scenes in the water, oh my god. You'll have to see for yourself. If only for these I don't regret seeing it in a movie theater, and they will probably fuel my imagination for years to come.
Okay that's the setting. Now,
The story: uuuuuhhhh
You're missing the bad guy from the first movie right?? No??? Too bad, because he's back. And bigger. And bluer.
because we couldn't be bothered to think of other tension points memory transplant. Bad humans destroy planet. Bad guys wants to destroy good guys because they don't have anything better to do and also revenge. Good guys good, by the standards of... US military of course.
Ah right, I have to take a detour here. Let's talk about.
🇺🇲American ideals in the movie🇺🇲
My god. It's like the VFX team tried to create an original and unique world, but the top scenarist was like. "It has to speak to the every day person: the average american male, of course."
Starting from the hero Jake Sully. Jake Sully's only personality traits are "US sergeant" and "a father protects, his family" — You'll hear that sentence about 3000 times. I suppose they thought it was deep.
(He's talking to his son. Lol.)
Jake tells his wife what to do during the entire movie, and she complies. He's not always right, but his wrongs are never shown as such. His outbursts are justified, hers are either calmed down by him or... one time, after their son's just died, he tells her he needs her to be strong. You know? Like him. THIS WOMAN HAS BEEN READY TO FIGHT THE ENTIRE MOVIR AND YOU'RE TELLING ME when some JACKASS kills her SON SHE NEEDS PROMPTING??? FUCK YOU
The Water tribe's structure is... The men go hunting. Women are healers. Some women have power but still the chief (a man) utters the other. The boys get into fights! And their dad is like "Go apologize. *Whispers* what's the other guy look like". The girls are kind and keep their younger siblings in check!
Which. You know, this is what I can observe, in my own life. It could be argued it's a good representation of the social pressures and dynamics of those gender groups in current society. The question is
FUCKING WHY
WHY am I seeing traditional gender roles and American values on a LITERAL ALIEN PLANET. GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK. And the thing is, I'm not even sure it's by design. What is more terrifying, is that it might stem from an UTTER INABILITY TO CONCEIVE ANYTHING ELSE COULD EVEN EXIST.
And the most terrifying to me is: the intended audience probably does identify with Jack Sully. I can imagine a lot of family dads sitting there slightly teary eyed going "yeah. A father's job is to protect his family."
WHICH COULDVE BEEN A STRENGTH. It could have taken that audience and told them: look. Trying to protect his family like that got Jack nowhere. Understanding of other cultures, of your own children is equally, if not more important.
But no.
I'll talk about it later but. To me, the movie unintentionally highlights stuff, and fails to deliver what could be deeper and meaningful messages every single, time.
It's a talent really.
right. Back to the story
A girl has disney princess powers because of, of...,
*Checks notes* a... miracle... You know what I give up.
(She was conceived like fucking Jesus by Mother Nature. this was actually the one scenaristic way out I could forgive, were it not for all the other scenaristic shortcuts.)
To sum up:
Visuals 12/10
Scenario: -2/10
Jake Sully: fuck you
Americanism: -1000/10
For the first hour, the only words in my mind were "utter shite." Now. With such a negative balance, is there anything worth seeing at all, besides the special effects?
I'm sad to say, there is.
For me at least. And it was
The children.
My attachment to the children is what carried this entire movie for me. Both their parents and the narrative fails them at every turn but that's ok, because they grew somewhat beyond what the narrative was tryna do with them. I'll put this in a reblog because 1. I'm tired 2. I need more picture space

Cheat and Steal to Lie and Survive
...whoops, maybe i should get back to being a writeblr.
Summary: Lying is wrong. Lying for thousands, if not tens of thousands of years is wrong. Lying about the very planet’s main enemy being immortal to your secret shadow government is wrong. Lying about the literal Divine Summoning Superweapon split into four is wrong. Lying about the four women with vast elemental powers who double as living keys and security checks to said Doomsday Device. Lying about the current Humanity being its second attempt is wrong. ...Unless said lies bring about one (confirmed) century of Peace and Progress. Unless said lies transforms a Kingdom built on mining and emotional slavery into a technological powerhouse capable of producing Artifical Life that is recognized as a ‘woman’ by the Magic that governs the Living Key Maidens. But that is a wrong well trampled, but this is a story about two wrongs making a right. Or what if Spinel, Wonder Woman, and Princess Celestia/Doomguy, 2B, and the Avatar Cycle joined the Wizard of Remnant in his eternal quest.
AN: The Chosen get full context of the Wizard’s Life and Task. to prevent any of the “Oh but they didn’t understand what they were signing up for” like Ozma did when the Lightbro started the reincarnation chain. It's what Ozpin attempted to do for Pyrrha before Cinder fucked everything up. So why wouldn’t his magic do the same for these folks? Also everyone has gotten their universe’s Perfect End. so no lingering threads to tie them down to their reality. I don’t know what End Game equipment the Chosen have so i’m just going to give them a random grab bag of stuff. Aka i’m watching a LP of Nier Automata and IDK if Doom Eternal is out when i’m writing. But yes Doom Slayer is from after Doom Eternal, plz whack if I get their loadouts all wrong.
Also Magic Using Androids from another Setting and then Vol 7 finale when Penny gets the Winter Maiden? Hell yes I am crossing them over. ...Nier: Automata Androids can use magic right? The Pod Programs and the Skill OS Chips. Shockwave? Autoheal? Those are the magic thingamabobs right? Unless I'm completely mistaking Nier for another setting where Androids are fighting robots after humanity goes extinct and both sides (or at least the androids) can use magic.
Edit: also I spent so long trying to write this chapter that Doom Eternal Released. WHELP. Wish I could say the quality is worth the wait. Still have many sections of this to write. :( edit 2: yeah no i’ve decided i’m not doing eight different perspectives in one chapter, so i’ma delete those sections i haven’t written for. Sorry *insert fandoms here* for not portraying why said characters joined Ozma.
Chapter 1: Let’s Bend the Rules Shall We?
“You Can’t.” With those soul crushing words Jinn The Spirit of Knowledge vanished in a puff of blue smoke.
The man another reality knows as The Inquisitor wept with his head bowed. Both the man with a body and the small group of people nestled in his soul failed to notice the Green Magic of Time and Space lashing around them.
“All of our work for the past millennia has been for nought!” Ozma 2.0 The False God banged his fist against a mental desk.
“Come now, with our help humanity and the faunus have civilizations that have lasted more than a decade at most.” Pleaded the Inventor of The Long Memory.
“That is until one of Salem’s worshippers destroys all of our progress or gains one of the Maidens.” The Inquisitor shot back.
“OKAY! So I should have made sure that the Maidens would pass onto optimistic folk if not return to us upon those darlins death.” Snarked Hermit of the Maidens.
As the men and women who collectively answer to Ozma descented into fercious bickering, their magic dissolved any idiotic Grimm who dared attack them in their moment of weakness. The magic shredded the environment around them into sand, forming what will be known Millennia in the future as the harshest (and origin) spot of the Vacuo Desert. But the environment wasn’t the only thing that was shredded by their magic, large gashes in the fabric of reality revealed alien skylines and starscapes. Not even itself was safe from the magic, the Wizard’s hold on Space Magics strained under the weight of bridging universes and could only bring three people and their equipment to his reality before dissipating. Only to be regained in a much weaker form in the lifetime known as The Last King of Vale.
The magic seeped through the gashes in the form of green mist reaching out to anyone who would help.
The Path of Wisdom.
Of the various oddities and reality warping events Diana Prince saw in her long life as Wonder Woman, One of the Founders of the Justice Society of America during the World Wars and again a founder of the Justice League circa 1995, a green mist that felt of another reality spilling out of a gash in her living room was certainly in her top 500 weirdest things. Then it started playing a Hero’s lifetime beginning when the man rescued a princess from a tower through a woman in the depths of her inherited depression casting a scrying spell into the past to see the events the Immortal wasn’t there to witness and ended when a Genie gave a depressing answer.
Diana breathed in deeply before exhaling and rubbing her nose. Diana got up when the message repeated itself and got out her Amazon Armor while waiting for her call to go through to the Watchtower.
“Batman here.” said the voice.
“Hey Bruce, could you get the Interdimensional Voyage forms? A portal opened in my living room and I'm going to hop through it.” Diana pulled on her torso armor as Batman sighed and clicked some keys.
“Estimated time in our reality vs theirs?”
“Unknown and Until I achieve World Peace when there’s a Literal Immortal Queen hellbent on destroying everything with a massive army of creatures that control 98% of the landmass who are attracted to negative emotions.” Diana shuffled on her greaves.
“Okay then, it's one of those Voyages. Tech Level? Magic Level and percentage of magic users?”
“Tech Level is-” Diana squinted at the portal. “Pre-Gunpowder. Magic Level is Street-City block level. Percentage is all of them and Six Individuals”
Diana could feel Batman’s glower of disapproval from the phone. “Tsk. Any Background info?”
“There once was a man named Ozma, he was a humble Hero going from fight to disaster saving the day. Until he rescued a woman named Salem from a tower and fell in love. But where the blades and beasts of the world failed, a single sickness prevailed. Then Salem went insane with grief and bargained with the Brother gods, tricking them causing infighting between the two Brothers. So they cursed her with immortality until she got some therapy. But Salem was now angry at the Gods and so united the world against them, so the younger Brother exterminated humanity and shattered the moon as he left. Taking humanity’s magic with him.
Then the older brother proposed Ozma with achieving World Peace while the younger God’s attack creatures ran rampant. Warning Ozma to not seek Salem because she’s evil now. So of course being Lovestruck the first thing Ozma did after Reincarnating was seeking Salem out. Upon finding her, Ozma fell in love once more and made the first nation larger than a mere city state in Humanity's history. Salem convinced him to take care of domestic affairs while she dealt with the external ones.
Over the years their family expanded with four daughters, whom the seasons are named after. Then Ozma found out that his wife was a genocidal tyrant and tried to flee with his daughters, only for Salem to catch them and cause a fight during which said daughters died. Then Salem reformed from ash in the ruins of their castle, kicked Ozma onto his back, stood on one of his wounds and ranted about freedom from the gods before interrupting Ozma when he tried to defend himself by burning him to death.
An thus started a long and painful cycle of death and rebirth for Ozma. After his second death, Ozma fell into a deep depression that lasted for a millenia.
------Back on Remnant/Group Focus.
Wonder Woman flew out of the portal and landed near the Immortal. She gently walked up behind the collapsed man and hugged him, ignoring his sudden flinch and pulled him so that Ozma leaned against her. Hooves clopping echoed across the clearing as Princess Celestia walked out of her portal. Celestia had saddlebags on her back that would have been straining the seams if not for their space expansion enchantments.
The squeak of rubber stretching reached everyone’s ears as Spinel propelled herself into the clearing.
The Path of Murder Blending.
The Last Demon fell before the man known only as the Doom Slayer. There were no more areas of Hell to suddenly open like a Video Game Sequel coming out. No alien invasions. No idiots trying to tap hell as a power source. No more demons/whatever the fuck preaching about ‘ignorant humans not being able to understand traditions’ None of that stupidity, there was merely a man fueled by anger finally calming down from tearing Hell several new holes per day. The Doom Slayer sat down against a wall and finally wept for all those he had lost.
Then a handful of hours later when Doom pulled himself up out of his pity party. An emerald gash appeared unleashing a green mist lighting up with a story as old as time. Quiet literally considering humanity went extinct and was then reborn. But the ancient spark of wrath that propelled him for over thousands of eons was reignited when Doom spotted the Grimm. Sure these demons weren’t red and couldn’t bribe people into selling their souls, but they dissolved on death and sought out negative emotions. Those were demons if Doom had ever seen one, and he had an Eternal Crusade against all demons. No Matter the Form, No Matter the Era, and No Matter the Dimension.
The fact that there was an Eternally Reincarnating Wizard tasked with achieving World Peace, was a mere bonus.
-----Back on Remnant/Group Focus
The Doom Slayer stepped out of the swirling magic and onto the crunchy sand surrounding the despairing Reincarnator. Doom’s head was on a swivel as he approached the immortal. Before noticing another patch of magic deepens it’s green coloration. Doom leveled his shotgun at the forming portal as 2B and her Pods jogged out of the magic.
2B was thankful for the green magical wall around her VIP, making it much easier to secure a perimeter when there was an actual perimeter. Then she saw the large man in green armor (what is with this universe and green anyways?) that had a shoulder cannon and a chainsaw-bayonet hybrid under one arm. Who was currently pointing a shotgun at her face.
“Judging by your armament your one of the ‘Chosen’ from another reality?” 2B asked.
The green armored man nodded lowering his shotgun into an at rest pose.
==========
Doom breathed in when the last Grimm was killed, focusing his mental energies at shackling his unending wrath. Containing the rage behind a wall of unyielding will so that the grimm wouldn’t constantly swarm the Slayer and his newfound allies.

As my followers may have picked up from my long, spiraling rants, I’ve undertaken a new research project, courtesy of the death grip She-Ra has on my brain. And guess what? It’s finally at Disseminate Information Stage! So I’m going to lay out all of the gods, demigods, and godbeasts of the Masters of the Universe. With sources!
This table is more of a cheat sheet. We’re gonna tackle this god by god, with a section on Actual Lore & a meta section to help you decide how valid you think they are, because frankly some canons are more canon than others.
Asklepia, Benevolent Snake Goddess
Lore: Asklepia is one of two snake goddesses, the benevolent twin sister of Serpentia. We know very little about her abilities, but the Snake Clan (a clan of human warriors) were said to worship her, and they were famed for their architecture and healing. She had the ability to curse and deform people--to what extent is uncertain, but she’s known to have condemned a fallen priest named Ka, whose disfigured likeness now adorns Snake Mountain.
Behind the Scenes: First appearing in the 1987 comic “Il Nero Cristallo Del Potere“, Asklepia remained nameless for over 30 years, until Masters of the Universe Classics (MOTUC) released a few choice bios. For the unfamiliar, MOTUC seeks to reconcile the often contradictory canons into one overarching narrative, which is great in theory, but in practice is kind of like putting ice cream on a hot dog. And calling it a Chilly Dog ® as if that makes it taste better. But I digress. In 2019 they released a bio for the Staff of Ka which finally put a name to the less-evil Snake Goddess, in an obvious nod to Asclepius and the asklepian (that staff+snake icon people put on medical stuff).
Sharella, the Green Goddess and/or “Avatar” of Asklepia
Lore: Contradictory
Long Version: Okay I’ve put avatar in quotes because it is... contentious. Basically, and you’ll see here why I felt the need to make this post instead of relying blindly on the wikis, Sharella was introduced (in the ‘87 licensing guide) as a tribal leader who had joint custody of Gray, the original name of He-Ro’s alter ego, while he was growing up. This was further developed by Emiliano Santalucia’s concept work, wherein she was the leader of the Green Tiger Tribe (GTT) specifically. While the comic concept was not run through licensing & is thus not “canon”, the idea of her leading the GTT persisted. This teeny tiny image of her from Tytus and Megator’s 1987 Italian box art was all we had until 2008, when one of He-Man’s accessories described her as the “warrior woman ally” of Queen Veena, “who had been changed into the immortal green-skinned avatar of the Goddess Asklepia”. In 2009, MOTUC released a figure for The Goddess, apparently forgetting they’d done that shit the year before because the packaging did say “K’yrulla” was her real name. They had to cover it up with a sticker.
So who’s The Goddess? Way back in the days before Mattel solidified any of the lore around MOTU, there were mini-comics released with the toys. Initially, the Goddess served a similar function to the Sorceress in the cartoon, and was in fact sometimes called the Sorceress. She facilitated He-Man’s transformations, gave him missions, was generally magical and mysterious, etc. If you know who the Sorceress is, and you can picture Teela, but green? That’s about it.
Back to Sharella, though. The Third Ultimate Battleground rolled around in 2015, and for the first time since some packaging in the 80s, we saw Sharella in action! She was shot through the heart with a poison arrow. Yeah. But don’t worry, she received a blood transfusion from Moss Man (who we’ll get to later), and was transformed into the Green Goddess! She’s immortal now. How Asklepia figures in here is sort of unclear, which is weird since this is still part of the MOTUC line, but whatever. Whatever! Queen Grayskull (the aforementioned Veena) received a bio in 2015 as well, which described Sharella as her apprentice who became “The Goddess”.
Horokoth, Aspect of the Mother Goddess
Lore: DC went a little batshit (pun intended) with the lore for the Eternity War. Here the Goddess is three combined aspects, “Serpos” (Serpentia) for the Snake Men, Zoar for the human “Eternians”, and a third, invented deity called Horokoth, who represents the Horde. Horokoth is “the coming destroyer. The darkness at the end of days.” and is represented by a bat.
Behind the Scenes: That last link has a clearer picture of her, it just didn’t crop well. Also, I confess I couldn’t bring myself to read Eternity War. As thrilling as the prospect of a cohesive narrative is, if I wanted to see Adora slit her brother’s throat there’s the edgier side of deviantArt to peruse. Therefore I know little of Horokoth outside of a few still images of Hordak. The bat was almost certainly selected for the Horde’s vespertilian emblem.
Hordeous, God-Beast of Horokoth
Lore: A “primordial”, bat-like godbeast of Horokoth, created in response to the god Saz’s feline races. Their face was “forever infused“ on the surface of Horde World by Horde Lord (Hordak and Horde Prime’s father in the MOTUC canon) to grant their family power and immortality.
Behind the Scenes: Yes they’ve used some words wrong, but they’ve got the spirit, right? Hordeous was (allegedly, this is secondhand) an invention of the MOTUC crew in answer to Horokoth. Now, the Horde Supreme bio predates Horokoth’s introduction by about 3 years, but obviously the comics were in production already. There’s an undated sketch of Horokoth Hordak from an undated interview (thanks for nothing you useless website) but in that same gallery there’s an orko sketch labeled 2012 so. We’re good right? That makes sense, timeline-wise. Anyway the comics slam dunked Horde Prime out of existence and combined him with Horde Lord so it’s contradictory anyway. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Serpentia, Malevolent Snake Goddess
Lore: The evil counterpart of Asklepia, Serpentia is the goddess of the Snake Men. The priest Ka of the Snake Clan forsook Asklepia in her favor, destroying Asklepia’s sacred orb and stealing the Serpent Ring (an artefact capable of transforming humans into Snake Men) from the Ophidian Spire with King Hsss. In DC’s triune interpretation of the Goddess, Serpentia (here ‘Serpos’) is blood, passion, and desire. A primal and primordial force appearing to the Snake Men in their own image.
Behind the Scenes: Okay yes I’ve reused the Asklepia pic but in my defense they are twins and this is the easiest one to crop. So here’s the thing about Serpentia: we only got a name for her in 2019. We knew there was a snake goddess, and she was pretty evil, or at least hostile towards mammalian life (see: the source of the pic I chose for her). Where Asklepia references the asklepian, ‘Serpentia’ is a much more heavy-handed snake reference, even though Anguis was right there. Those Masters Mondays came through for us, though, with the shield and staff of Ka, Ssssylph, and of course MOTUC’s Dark Despot Skeletor, which is. something. Though only recently named, Serpentia has been a shadow over Eternia since the Snake Men’s introduction in 1985 (or, depending on how much of the presented backstory you accept, even sooner in the form of Skeletor’s lair, Snake Mountain).
Serpos/Sarcedon, God-Beast of Snake Mountain
Lore: Contradictory, but the gist of it is he’s a very large snake with elemental magic and a grudge, that was turned to stone and became Snake Mountain.
Long Version: Snake Mountain was conceived of towards the end of 1982, but wasn’t revealed to the public until September of 1983, with the debut of the Filmation cartoon. For another year, the snake coiled around its summit was simply a carving, its mouth hollowed out for Skeletor to stand in and loom. But in 1984 the Snake Mountain toy was released, completely discarding the Filmation design in favor of the hewn face of the figure we now call Ka. Instead of a snake carving winding its way up the peak, the Mattel toy featured a ‘striking serpent’, alive and attached to the mountain itself. From there, it was an easy leap to make to ‘this carving comes alive’. So easy, in fact, that they did it twice!
First attempted in 1985 in the newspaper storyline “Vengeance of the Viper King”, the snake was here called Sarcedon, the World Destroyer. At the dawn of time, he was said to crush Eternia within his deadly coils. He burrowed deep into the ground, causing fearsome storms that nearly destroyed the planet. Only a fearless hero (implied to be He-Ro) could defeat and imprison Sarcedon. Using a macguffin called a Mirror of History, He-Man forced Sarcedon to behold his own reflection in a reference to the Medusa myth that kind of missed the point of it being reflective. Sarcedon was sent back in time, Snake Mountain was restored, the good guys win, blah blah blah.
That was the last of it until the MYP cartoon in 2004. Serpos as a name was actually first invoked by Mer-Man in a 1982 minicomic, but like it probably wasn’t about the snake. Anyway in the MYP cartoon the Snake Men get this thing called the Medallion of Serpos that lets them un-petrify the snake around Snake Mountain, grow two more heads, and unleash his godly wrath. He breathes fire, trashes Eternos, beats up He-Man, then turns his attention on Castle Grayskull to consume the Orb of Power (containing the strength and wisdom of the Elders, who had first trapped him in stone). He-Man cuts off Serpos’s extra heads with a sword upgrade, the Elders are somehow magically restored to life, and they re-petrify him. Snake Mountain is restored, the good guys win, blah blah blah.
Zoar, the Fighting Falcon
Lore: Contradictory, but it sure is a bird!
Long Version: While Sharella’s backstory is fraught because of the comics couldn’t decide what they wanted her to be, Zoar was similarly tangled up by the toyline. Initially male, he went through several color schemes, some prettier than others. Though there was a vague association with the Sorceress before the cartoon (recall that pre-Filmation, the Sorceress was just the Goddess), Filmation made them literally inseperable by designating Zoar as the Sorceress’s falcon form, to which she was confined when leaving Castle Grayskull.
Some of the comics and Golden books showed Zoar as being flipping enormous & ridden into battle as a steed by Teela and Man-at-Arms. Pre-Filmation, Zoar was always referred to as male, but post-Filmation, always female, as an incarnation of the Sorceress.
The Eternity Wars comics describe Zoar as the third aspect of the Goddess, the ‘Great Preserver’ whose light would shine through the universe for eternity. They pull off a sort of tripartite priestess thing where it’s Serpos/Zoar/Horokoth represented by Teela-Na (the Sorceress)/Teela/Evil-Lyn.
MOTUC, of course, had to reconcile all of these contradictory canons. How’d they do it? “In the folklore of Eternia, the golden falcon symbolized the godhead Zoar, a powerful deity of Preternia. As a god, Zoar could appear in both male and female guises and while the blue-tipped female falcon was associated with the Sorceress of Grayskull, the golden falcon represented Zoar's masculine nature.” So Zoar is genderfluid now, and the Sorceress is merely borrowing their form when transforming into a falcon. This bio also established that Zoar had anointed the first Sorceress, Veena (Queen Grayskull), which explains why she has wings for no apparent reason.
Also it’s not offically MOTUC but the scultors of the line, Four Horsemen, made a single anthro Zoar for Power-Con 2013. In case you need that for some reason.
Glorybird, Emissary of Zoar
Lore: Many millennia ago, there were three siblings, who were very poor and mistreated by their stepmother, but had hearts filled with kindness and love. Zoar, recognizing their resilience and desire to help people, sent an emissary named Glorybird. Glorybird bestowed upon each sibling a divine gift, but as they used their new powers to fight for good, their stepmother revealed herself to be a Celestial Witch & attempted to sacrifice them to Zoar’s “greatest enemy”, Horokoth.
Backstory: Okay, so the Star Sisters (and Glorybird) were in exactly one episode of She-Ra, primarily to set them up as new toy designs. While prototypes were made for these, the figures weren’t actually produced until MOTUC released figures for them in 2012. Though they were referenced in Princess Prom, and we saw a brief cameo in a background, Glorybird was absent until the introduction of the Star Siblings in Season Five.
That’s right! This bird is a god, and there’s nothing you can do about it.
Saz, God of All Felines
Lore: One of the “Gods of the Multiverse” (he is the only member named explicitly), Saz was a blue-furred, feline deity responsible for the creation of all cats, humanoid or otherwise. He transformed himself into an enormous cat-beast to defeat Serpos and Hordeous, whose progenitors created them in envy of his children. Though Serpos was defeated, Hordeous escaped into the cosmos, and Saz himself vanished mysteriously.
Behind the Scenes: “By the whiskers of Saz!” is a fun pseudo-swear made by various cat races throughout MOTU, first in He-Man’s “The Cat and the Spider” and later in She-Ra’s “Magicats”. That was the only real mention of him until... okay, so MOTUC bios aren’t always attached to the product. Starting in 2018, they did this thing called Masters Mondays where they put unposted bios on the org forums. So while we’ve had the sword since 2010, we didn’t get the background on it until March of 2020. And then a couple weeks later, the Cat Mask of Catra bio referred to him as a “mystical being” instead of a god, but the mask was from 2011 so. He may not have been a god yet. It really depends on when the bios were actually written.
Saz wielded a blade probably best described as a falchion, whose quillon & langet formed a vaguely triangular shape around a deep red gem. I want to be clear that while it looks totally rad, this sword would be very impractical and have poor structural integrity were it not made by a literal god. Do not make swords like this. Also it’s almost certainly riffing on the Sword of Omens from Thundercats (affectionate).
Sabe-Or, Son of Saz
Lore: A green-furred, orange-striped paladin, Sabe-Or is one of the only named Ancients. He inherited his father’s blade upon Saz’s mysterious disappearance, and lived for centuries more. Upon his death, he transferred his “heroic essence” into a group of Eternian tigers, forever transforming them into the Green Tiger Tribe, whence both Granger (steed of King Grayskull), and Cringer, steed of Prince Adam.
Behind the Scenes: So “Battle Cat Man” is a concept that’s existed since they decided to make their hero ride a wicked tiger into battle. If you show a kid a superhero, and a supertiger, apparently the natural inclination of most children in the 80s was to combine the two. There are so many custom action figures. So, so many. Sabe-Or is visually a clear reference to this concept, and canonically seems to be the closest we’re going to get outside of the Thundercats crossover, unless you count Cowarros from 4H’s Mythic Legions line (I do, because it means Purrrplor is also canon and I fucking love calling him that).
Moss Man, Ancient Eternian Nature God
Lore: An ally of King Grayskull, Moss Man was something of an Eternian cryptid in the centuries leading up to He-Man Times. He has control over all plant life, the ability to meld with plants, and apparently can imbue sentience to said plants.
Behind the Scenes: Moss Man wasn’t featured in many episodes, because he’s a little... incredibly over-powered. He’s literally Bigfoot from 5000 years ago with magic powers. And like, since I don’t think the writers appreciate how long 5000 years is, you know what happened 5000 years ago? Stonehenge. This bitch is Stonehenge-old. But sure, you can trace a direct line of descent from his contemporary. smh. Anyway according to MOTUC his real name is Kreann’Ot N’Norosh so make of that what you will. Also his toys were pine-scented. I just love that.
Evil Seed, Rebellious Creation of Moss Man
Lore: Created by Moss Man to help fight in the Great Wars, Evil Seed betrayed his master and turned to evil (who could have foreseen this...), finding joy in corrupting all forms of plant life for his own amusement. Moss Man imprisoned him in enchanted chains, keeping him restrained for many millennia.
Behind the Scenes: According to MOTUC, his real name is Sero Malustro, clumsy New Latin for “(to) plant evil-burnt“. Why his name is New Latin and Moss Man’s is... whatever that is, I have no idea. As you can see from the image I included, he originally had an artichoke head, which was upgraded for the Mike Young Productions (MYP) cartoon. Personally I think the artichoke rules.
Volcana, the Fire Goddess
Lore: Canonically, she’s a fire goddess, and the mother of the Volcano Magus. Together, they are a rising force that seeks to conquer Etheria in the wake of Hordak’s defeat.
Backstory: Volcana has taken a long a twisted journey, but was first revealed to fans at Power-Con 2016 in a panel revealing previously unseen concepts and characters. After the first wave of She-Ra toys, a second wave was planned with a snow focus, to bring more attention the Filmation-neglected Frosta. This began with the introduction of a fire villain, an “evil lady that glows with heat” who would attempt to melt Castle Chill. That concept actually refers to a character named Amber (not Ember, as one might assume) who was reworked into a benevolent counterpart, Volcana’s twin sister.
Volcana was later fleshed out to be a Fire Goddess with flame-red hair, x-ray vision, and arms sculpted with flames. Her cape flew up with flame detail that rose up to control the volcano (of Volcanica, a proposed toyset that seems to have been reworked into the Crystal Falls). She was emphasized by Mattel to not start fires, which, honestly, is probably why they scrapped the character. He-Man couldn’t use his sword as a sword; a woman made of fire was basically doomed.
Now, though, we’re several decades in and lines made for collecters that are largely in their 30s and 40s can say whatever they want! So she’s canon, even if Amber isn’t. Yes there’s only one mention of her. Amber technically was mentioned in an unproduced episode titled “Amber Waves of Flame”, but as it was unproduced, it’s noncanonical.
Volcano Magus, Sinister Son of Volcana
Lore: Living within a dormant volcano, the Volcano Magus of the German audio plays was the source of most of Catra’s power and all of her evil intent. He supplied her with magic for spells and schemes with which to assail the Crystal Castle, but neither she nor Clawdeen were aware of the dark influence he held over them.
In the MOTUC canon, he’s specified as the son of Volcana, a demigod from the “Region of Volcanoes” who craved the nature magic of the Whispering Woods. When he learned the Twiggets were inextricably linked to that magic, he used his powers to petrify the former Rebels (this was after the Horde's defeat) and kidnap three Twiggets to drain the magic from their souls. Twiggets, for the uninitiated, are like purple tree-elf things. According to MOTUC, Razz is a Twigget, though the ‘real’ name they assigned her doesn’t fit their naming convention. She is purple, I guess.
Kowl, who avoided petrification, read Razz's spellbooks to find a way to save his friends, and learned of an Entrapment Gem that she hid in a shoe, for some reason. He confronted the Volcano Magus, spoke in the ancient tongue of the First Ones, and sucked him into the Gem.
Backstory: Admittedly this stuff is second hand, as I don’t speak German & they only have transcriptions/translations for the He-Man tapes anyway, but if anybody can find me an audio file I will do my best to verify. The MOTUC stuff at least I can confirm 100% because it’s from 2019 & I do speak English, for better or worse.
Oak, the Jackal God
Lore: Oak was the terrible Jackal God worshiped by the denizens of Zhar, an ancient civilization that once existed in a remote, forested region of Eternia. Long ago, Oak was imprisoned within a statue which could be found within the Temple of the Jackal. When Skeletor removed the statue from the temple, Oak broke free of the enchantment which imprisoned him and wreaked havoc on Eternia. Although the Jackal God was immensely powerful, he could be weakened by the elements of nature and was ultimately foiled by a rainstorm conjured by the combined powers of He-Man's sword and the magic of the temple's guardian priest.
Backstory: I have lifted this from a He-Man guide word for word as I cannot for the life of me find a copy of the Brazilian Editora Abril comic he came from, O Templo Do Chacal (1986). The description is like, suspiciously similar to the plot of the He-Man episode The Cat and the Spider, except the Grimalkin was never described as a god. The rest of it--statue, Skeletor, storm defeat--plays out almost the same. True pity I can’t find the original source, but I do trust this guidebook. You may be interested in Ceres from the UK comics--another dog-slash-statue who frankly might as well be a god himself, but as he’s not called one in canon he’s not going on the list.
The Bitter Rose Goddess
Lore: As Man-at-Arms told the legend, “Every day, a woman climbed Rose Mountain to look for her husband to return from the war. Alas, he never came back. Her tears poured from her cheek and entered the ground. One day she disappeared, but where she stood was a single, solitary rose. It’s the only thing that grows on Rose Mountain.”
The Insect People, who lived at the base of Rose Mountain, believed that the Bitter Rose is all that held the mountain together (and when it was picked, they were proved right). After the flower was restored, it transformed into the Bitter Rose Goddess herself, who explained that she had been a prisoner of her love's sorrow, so bitter that she refused to allow anything else to grow on Rose Mountain. She blessed the surrounding area, blanketing the jagged peaks with roses, and disappeared.
Backstory: She’s kind of... barely a god. She showed up in one episode and no other media & has objectively less power than like, every single demon they ever brought in. I almost didn’t put her on this list.
Mask-Ra, Goddess of Masks
Lore: A goddess who created the magical Masks of Power.
Backstory: Mask-Ra was first mentioned in 2019 and like, look, I’m gonna be real. I don’t respect her. She’s an invention of MOTUC (unless they were drawing on this concept art of Maska-Ra, which I doubt bc he was a Man-E-Faces precursor) and they retconned her into having created Catra’s mask, which is kind of redundant given the entire episode Magicats. This mask did not need two bios. There are no other mentions of her in any canon.
Potential other Masks of Power: The Deemos and Tyrella masks from the He-Man episode “Masks of Power”, lizard and canine masks from the mini-comic “Masks of Power”, Lord Masque’s Demon Mask from the He-Man episode “House of Shokoti, Part 1″, and whatever the hell Red Shadow has going on.
Procrustus, Giant Guardian of Magic
Lore: During the creation of the various dimensions (5 in MOTUC canon but demonstratably higher everywhere else), the gods installed the four-armed, immortal giant Procrustus to guard their secrets at the heart of Eternia. There lay the Starseed, from which the entire dimension was created. It still held immeasurable power, and could be used to conquer entire universes. Hordak, in an attempt to access the Starseed, cracked Eternia in two with the Spell of Separation. Though he was (mostly) thwarted, from then on Procrustus was forced to hold the two halves of Eternia together from within, lest the planet break apart and the Starseed be exposed.
Backstory: First appearing in the mini-comic “The Magic Stealer!”, Procrustus is a lot more tangible than most gods. We know where he is, at all times, and he seems confined to one size. His powers appear to be largely physical, as he had to burrow out of the ground to investigate in the mini-comic instead of teleporting or like, magicking the dirt away. This was his only appearance until MOTUC released a figure for him in 2012. He also showed up in the Subternia map the next year, holding Eternia together.
Standor, Cosmic Creator of Power
Lore: “Before time began, the great Gods of the multiverse convened in the Hall of Power to create all that was and all that will ever be. Head architect of this great task was Standor. A cosmic being of unlimited imagination, Standor helped lead his fellow deities by fueling their energies with raw creative force.”
Backstory: Released for Comikaze 2013 to celebrate the partnership of Mattel and Pow! Entertainment, Standor is literally just Stan Lee But a God. The prototype was called Standar--idk why they changed it, but I think it’s because it’s too easy to confuse with “Standard”. They made a bio for his sunglasses. I don’t want to talk about it.
Bash-Or, Slain Mystic God-Beast
Lore: Very little is known of Bash-Or, the Ram. His last remnant was sealed within the Ram Stone by the ancient sorceror kings of Zalesia, imbuing it with his divine power to overcome any barrier, magical or otherwise.
Backstory: Bash-Or was revealed in the bio for the Ram Stone, September of 2020, but his spirit (previously referred to as ‘the Spirit of the Ram Stone’) was twice utilized by Skeletor in the MYP cartoon, to great effect, before the stone was destroyed.

Flash Fiction: Star Wars
Spoilers for the Mandalorian S2 finale but I had TOO MANY FEELINGS.
He’s in the middle of a call to Leia when he senses it. The Force chimes—like a commlink, he thinks, amused at how scandalised Yoda would be by that comparison—and he frowns, turning away from his sister to reach out.
“Luke, you need to focus, this is—” Leia cuts herself off. She senses it too. Even young Ben, babbling about something just beyond the holotransmitter, is silenced for a moment by the Force.
“What is that…?”
Luke reaches out.
An old presence. A… young, presence. Bright, powerful, and full of potential, made brighter and shimmering in its location—wherever it is, it’s a powerful place, and this powerful child is using it.
Where are the Jedi?
Are there others like me?
I was alone for so long, and he promised I would no longer be alone…
Then it’s cut off—naturally, but abruptly—and foreboding sweeps in.
“Sorry, Leia,” Luke says. “I’ll come visit you all on Coruscant some other time. For now there’s a youngling who needs help.”
*
“Incoming craft, identify yourself.”
He can sense the youngling on the cruiser, he’s reaching out to them—and they, he, is reaching back. Fear clouds him, the protectors and presences around him stark in the Force with it; whatever is happening, the child is in danger.
Luke doesn’t bother answering the hail; just switches the comms off, and lands. Artoo whistles from the back seat.
Luke laughs. “Yeah, me too, buddy. Let’s see what trouble we can get into today.”
He hops out of his X-wing and climbs down. Things are moving outside; it… leaves prickles up the backs of his arms and his spine, a fear too visceral to be the Force, born of human instinct instead. Thud, thud, thud echoes through the corridors.
He steps outside, Artoo close on his heels.
When his father died, he left him everything. Luke has visited Mustafar, Vjun, a thousand planets and bases with the codes and intel to access them all. It doesn’t take a moment to summon them to memory and hack into one of the consoles in the corridor, viewing—
Oh.
What are those?
Dark troopers, the monitor says, but they don’t seem to be troopers at all. They’re droids.
Droids with armour tougher than a blaster shot, enough force in their limbs to shatter transparisteel, enough strength to fight a gundark—
But not, he thinks grimly, enough to tackle a lightsaber.
Not enough to tackle a Jedi.
“Shut them down,” he says, hands flying over the console, “shut—”
ACCESS DENIED.
He lets out a breath. “Artoo, can you—”
Artoo plugs in, and a frustrated squeal sees the end of that.
He tries again.
REQUEST CLEARANCE FROM MOFF GIDEON.
“Father has clearance to control them but not shut them down entirely?” Luke snorts. “I suppose it makes sense Gideon would want to lock out as much as he could.” Artoo beeps. “You’re right.”
His fingers type out one last command—the foreboding and the threat is mounting in the Force, choking him.
“Come to me, not the youngling.”
And he almost senses the moment all the dark troopers turn away from their task… to face his direction.
Luke unhooks his lightsaber from his belt and smiles to Artoo. “See if you can keep up.” Artoo’s indignance makes him laugh.
He brings up his hood and strides forwards, his cape flaring behind him.
*
They come at him quickly: two corridors, one turn, and then one’s on his right, shooting—he raises the saber and bats it away with ease. The Force pings and he lets that movement glide into the next, carving up the one coming from the left.
He’s familiar with the layout of a Star Destroyer by now but a cruiser’s slightly different; he hesitates for half a moment before striding out onto a walkway over a docking bay. Troopers swarm from straight ahead but he deflects with ease, slashing through them. One grabs his shoulder; he swings; it lets go.
He keeps moving.
Into another room, full of crates stacked high and wide and shelves. Full of dark troopers; he shoves one against the wall, slashes through another, and it’s almost rote before he gets through.
They’re dangerous. But so, he supposes wryly, spinning his lightsaber to get a better grip—though Leia would accuse him of flair—is he.
Through the corridors—four more. He can feel the youngling’s presence reaching for him, watching him; he smiles under his hood and reaches back, like the first time he met Ben and he took his nephew’s proffered hand. I am coming. You are safe. Something coos.
Into the turbolift and up. Artoo has fallen behind—he’ll get an earful about that later—but Luke can’t let himself get distracted. There are still troopers…
The doors open on them: two rows, several deep. They’re facing him, away from the youngling—heh. Good.
He swings his saber before they can even fire, the Force bunching around him. One droid flies forwards into his slash, the other flies back before it can hit him; he spins and dodges, the cape swirling around him, barely blinking, drives his blade down through the head into the chest, beheading another—
If the Imperial Remnant designed their dark troopers so the main control was in the head, where any humanoid would think to strike, they were asking for this.
One left. He extends his hand and watches it crumple and spark. For a moment, staring at the chest controls head on, he’s reminded of a cyborg, not a droid, and the shape of the head morphs in his gaze into a mask more familiar—
Then he clenches his fist. It drops, destroyed.
And now the corridor is empty, and only the dented blast doors remain.
He takes a deep breath, lowering his saber at his side and stepping forwards. He closes his eyes. He can sense the youngling—Grogu, he hears—beyond, as well as tense, wary, afraid adults.
They have done so much to protect this child from the Empire.
He can only respect that immensely.
There’s shouting, arguing—and then one of the adults opens the blast door and lets him in.
He doesn’t realise how smoky it’s become until he can breathe more easily, stepping onto the bridge. Glancing up from under the rim of his hood, he clocks six presences. Four women, on the other side of the command table from him, all with blasters pointed his way: two Mandalorians, one hired mercenary and a stocky soldier with a Rebel starbird tattooed on her cheekbone. He turns his gaze to the left, where Grogu and his… protector… stand; also a Mandalorian, he’s looking at him with a complex mix of emotions Luke is too distracted and polite to unpick.
He deactivates his lightsaber and lowers his hood.
It doesn’t seem like any of them recognise him—which is not a novelty, considering how much time he’s spent travelling in the far Outer Rim recently, but it remains welcome even if he’s not sure how it’ll help the situation. He’s here for Grogu; will they give him up to a strange Jedi? Mandalorians have always hated Jedi.
He doesn’t know.
He’ll find out.
Grogu is sitting in a chair at one of the consoles—he leans out to peek a look, and Luke gives him a faint smile. He’s… not what he expected.
He looks like Yoda.
Luke really hadn’t been expecting that.
He can’t help but smile.
The protector draws his attention back with— “Are you a Jedi?”
He’s heard a lot of iterations of that question. This man’s wariness is not the first he’s encountered.
He tries to quash his smile back into something approaching stoicism when he answers, “I am.”
Grogu looks nervous. Luke can’t blame him.
Still, he reaches out a hand. “Come, little one.”
The term of affection sneaks out before he can stop it—Ben called him that, his father called him an iteration of that… Grogu seems to respond to it, though, and Luke senses it sounds familiar. It reminds him of a temple once destroyed, a home he lost, and masters who trained him.
Luke decides that Grogu’s age and backstory can wait for another time to unpick. He’s not sure how old he is—Yoda lived to nine hundred—but it looks like he’s younger than Ben.
But Grogu doesn’t respond to his hand. He looks to his protector.
His father figure, Luke realises, and tries not to feel emotional at that.
The man says, slightly defensively and slightly awkwardly, “He doesn’t wanna go with you.”
No. That isn’t it. “He wants your permission.”
He remembers a boy who didn’t want to follow a Jedi Knight to Alderaan because he couldn’t leave his uncle.
He remembers a boy who desperately wanted his father’s approval, even when he learnt his father was everything he wanted to destroy.
Grogu’s protector looks hesitant, and though Luke sympathises…
It is dangerous to let such a powerful Force-sensitive go untrained. Especially with the Empire after him.
He needs him to understand that.
“He is strong in the Force,” he says, almost apologetically. “But talent without training is nothing.”
Even if that training involved Grogu’s elder whacking Luke on the shins repeatedly. Again, he suppresses a smile.
“I will give my life to protect the child,” he promises, “but he will not be safe until he masters his abilities.”
That convinces him.
He lifts Grogu up, so gently it’s painful, and stares at him as he carries him over.
“Hey, go on,” he murmurs. “That’s who you belong with. He’s one of your kind.”
Grogu reaches up as if to touch his cheek—or rather, the helmet.
“I’ll see you again. I promise.”
Grogu’s hand drops from the helmet.
And after a moment’s hesitation, his protector reaches up to remove it.
Luke blinks fiercely, overcome by a fiercely familiar emotion—he looks away, not looking at his face or his tears, the way men on the second Death Star did for him and his father.
“Alright, pal,” he hears. “It’s time to go.”
Luke swallows.
“Don’t be afraid.”
Then he leans down to put Grogu on the ground and Luke looks back, meeting his gaze firmly and kindly. He’s tearing up, but Luke doesn’t acknowledge it.
It’s almost a surprise when Artoo rolls up behind him and beeps.
Grogu waddles towards him, cooing. Artoo whistles back. Luke lets himself smile, this time.
At Grogu’s lifted arms, he picks him up, as gentle as he was with Ben. He can feel his protector’s eyes on them.
After a moment of… connection, Luke looks up.
“May the Force be with you,” he says, and inclines his head.
Grogu’s protector just looks devastated.
Luke wants to say something to comfort him—wants to say that he knows how this feels. But he knows it wouldn’t help.
So he just cradles Grogu in his arms, as gently as he can, and walks away.
*
“Come on, little one,” he coos as they strap themselves into his X-wing. Grogu is perched on his lap, and it’s a struggle keeping his hands away from the controls. “You seem to have had a lot of adventures.
“Are you ready for one more?”
Artoo whistles something, Grogu coos, and hyperspace blurs the stars around them.

What is Magical girl site and what sin did it commited?
Okay SO LET ME FUCKING TALK ABOUT MAGICAL GIRL SITE, CAN WE TALK ABOUT IT FOR A FUCKING HOT MINUTE, IT’S BEEN TWO YEARS SINCE I READ IT AND IM STILL FUCKING STEAMED ABOUT IT.
Alright, For those of you who don’t know the plot, I’ll have a brief synopsis here spoiler free and then the spoilers under a read more so if it does tickle your fancy you can read or watch at your leisure. This is going to be on the long side because I’m including some images. As always, these are only my opinions and observations--I encourage you not to take them as LAW of how you should view the anime/manga but rather watch or read it yourself to form your own rounded opinion if you feel like you have the stomach for it because the Manga at least covered a lot of harsh topics.
Our main gal is a girl named Aya. She is the victim of INTENSE bullying at school by a group of girls and at home by her older brother. And I’m not talking about leave a rude word written on your desk or mean comments-I’m talking physical violence day in and day out to the point of becoming immensely suicidal.
She eventaully comes across a website that promises to make her a magical girl and sends her a ‘stick’ to help protect herself and fufill her role.
It’s a gun. The magical girl ‘Stick’ can take numerous forms from game controllers, a cell phone, a pen, a broom, even underwear, but they’re all imbued with their own unique magical power. The gals use them to protect herself (Aya uses hers for the first time to protect herself from would be R*pists set up by her school bullies) She eventually makes friends with other magical girls
*SQUUAADDDDDD*
It turns out the website has a count down clock and they spend most of the manga trying to figure out what happens when the clock runs out. It’s later found out the site will target girls who in bad situations (ranging from dying of cancer, to being abused at school to needing to protect themselves) to use these wands which much like Madoka, uses up their life span, to suck up bad negative energy (as most of the sticks are used to get revenge)
The series is interesting in it’s tough topics like depression, suicidal feelings, abuse, bullying, abusive home lives, R*pe etc. and handles it in a rather mature way- And thru out the series I liked it, It was a great darker read, it had intense dark moments but also wonderful sweet moments of the girls being friends. As a person who never really got to have the full experience of Magica Madoka-this was an excellent alternative to a darker magical girl genre. It is also apparently done by the same person who made ‘Magical Girl Apocolypse’ and has references to that.
The series is also well noted for having a main trans character who is actually respected and loved by her comrades and her character is done respectfully without her being a ‘joke’
That’s her on the end with the hair bow, she is a good gal. The Girl in black is also a great one. Her Stick is a goddamn whole knife.
Now here’s where my Beef starts. Ahead is spoiler territory so if you don’t want to be spoiled if you plan on watching or reading MGS, you best stop here. Or continue on if you feel like you may need to brace yourself when you do want to watch/read it-I totally understand wanting to do that
-
So at the start, Aya meets another magical girl, her name is Tsuyuno Yatsumura. She goes to class with Aya.
Tsuyuno has the power of time manipulation with the help of her cell phone and from the start she is very much a boss ass bitch. Her family was murdered in a home invasion and she’s managed to catch the killer and been slowly and painfully torturing him with the help of her ‘Stick’ to keep him alive. She cares greatly for Aya and they become closer and Tsuyuno opens up more to her, there is actual character build up and development here.
Over time, Tsuyuno and Aya get closer and it’s shipping level territory after they share a genuine kiss after a date.
Everyone is like ‘well this is it, this the end game couple. I sure hope nothing fucking BAD happens.’ Of course it’s Magical Girl Site, of course bad things happen, but I wasn’t expecting THIS.
Tsuyuno is Aya’s long lost twin sister. Apparently they were adopted out and separated as babies.
And everyone feels weird and fucking incesty after rooting for that. ROOTING FOR THEM FOR SO LONG, because it wasn’t just a random thing-they had character development and chemistry and people were like ‘YEAH THAT’S IT. THAT’S THE COUPLE.’ and then the manga never fucking ADDRESSES THAT ‘yeah they’re sisters’ AGAIN. And they BOTH FUCKING KNOW IT.
Then there’s the secondary beef.
Previously I talked about how there was a trans character. Her name is Kiyoharo
Thru out the series none of her friends misgender her, respect her as a fellow magical girl and team member, and it’s never a ‘hahah, a guy in a dress’ joke with her. She is a well done character. There is even a moment where she talks about coming out to her mom and her mom accepting her whole heartedly and supporting her.
Now twords the ending, it’s revealed that the timer on the site is a count down to ‘The Tempest’ which would be unleashed by an ancient entity known as The King. The negative energy gathered by the gals using their magical girl sticks was to gather up power to basically destroy the world as humans are the cause of all the planet’s problems.
Now when the team is squaring up against her-it’s found out that only boys who use the magical sticks can do real intense damage to ‘The King’. and first they were going to use Aya’s weird sociopath brother to do the damage but it was a ‘HAHA. NAH. you got fucked in the ass, you’re not a man, you’re a GIRL.’
Which let me tell you-was a deep inhale thru the nostrils for me. One, that was a rapey situation where he got fucked by another male character and TWO, getting fucked in the ass a woman does not MAKE. If getting fucked in the ass makes you a girl, that means there are a lot more women on the planet then men I GUESS.
anyway.
The manga already stated that regardless of how you identify, the site (which was set up by ‘The King) will recognize you BY THE GENDER YOU IDENTIFY AS. (hence Kiyoharo getting a wand because she is a girl and identifies herself as one.)
So they can’t use the brother as a killing blow because butt sex makes you a girl and ineligible to do the kill. BUT SUDDENLY THEY CAN USE KIYOHARO for THAT. Here is the DIRECT PULL from the WIKI ITSELF
And like the more I try to read that, the more it smells iffy. I don’t LIKE it. It ENDED WEIRD for me because of that. We were going strong and then you just sort of ended it like that. I’m glad she got the killing blow in-but the reasoning behind it was iffy for me.
TLDR: Plot twist on the one lesbian couple is that they’re twins, apparently being fucked in the ass by a man makes a dude automatically a girl and apparently despite the whole system set up by the BBEG recognizing the one trans character as a girl suddenly is damaged by her ‘male energy’; that’s kinda my tick off points for the series.
It is a great series and interestingly done, but there are some points of it twords the end of the manga I’m critical of. I don’t know if the anime shifts gears because I haven’t watched it yet.

"Because we need all the help we can get."
“Maybe so, Shaw, but I ain’t keen on working with humans.”
“Who are you calling human, mutant?” sneered one of the quartet, an elf-like man who was even slimmer than Pyro himself, with a long blond ponytail that made Pyro think of Legolas. “I’m Inhuman. We are the true superior race that will inherit this planet.”
“Ugh, that’s even worse!” Pyro snapped. “Didn’t you lot try to kill us all with a toxic cloud or something?”
“Aireo had nothing to do with that,” said another man, auburn-haired and stocky in a way that reminded Pyro of Dominic. “What’s your beef with humans anyway, pal?”
“I dunno, mate, maybe Sentinals and the mutant registration act, and pollies talking about herding us all into camps, and people tryin’ ta kill us every damn day, and – “
“Enough, Allerdyce! Let’s not let your prejudices ruin a valuable alliance. I apologize for him, Mr. van Zante, I assure you not all mutants are so close-minded,” Sebastian broke in.
“Yeah, whatever,” said the man, still glaring at Pyro. “And I had nothing to do with any mutant registration act either. You can’t blame me for the laws, I hate the fuckin’ government.”
“Well, that’s a point of agreement between the two of you, isn’t it?” Sebastian couldn’t quite keep the condescension out of his voice, or perhaps wasn’t even trying. “I thnk you’ll find that the two of you have more similarities than differences.”
“Don’t see myself having much in common with a bunch of eco-terrorists that spend most of their time robbing banks.” Pyro said, looking at the group with disdain. He didn’t care for Inhumans and their weird secretive cult, and the flaming woman set his teeth on edge – there was something alien and wrong about her fire. He could feel it constantly at the edge of his senses, prickling at him. But humans with powers – they were the worst. Humans would grind mutants into the dirt, then inject themselves with chemicals or blast themselves with radiation to claim the power that was a mutant’s birthright. Apparently super-powers grafted unnaturally into a human body were just fine and dandy, but a mutant’s natural-born powers had to be suppressed, controlled or destroyed. No one called Captain America a freak of nature, after all.
“You’ve got a lotta nerve talkin’ about terrorists,” said van Zante. “When’s the last time your Brotherhood actually did something good for mutants? You guys just run around robbing banks, too!”
Before Pyro could snap back, they were interrupted by a hearty chuckle from Sebastian.
“You know, it really is funny when petty criminals like yourselves try to claim the moral high ground. I mean, you’re both basically glorified thieves, but your respective groups pretend to some noble ideals, which are really just an excuse for violence – “
“Shut up, Shaw!” Both Pyro and van Zante yelled at once. Sebastian simply rolled his eyes, and turned his conversation to the other three members of Force of Nature.
“That guy’s kind of a dick, isn’t he?” said van Zante after a moment.
“Yeah, he really is.” Pyro couldn’t stop himself from cracking a grin. “The guys with money always look down on the rest of us.”
“And then they call us greedy just for tryin’ to get a piece for ourselves. Like, sorry I don’t have a massive trust fund, fighting for the environment doesn’t always pay that well!”
“I know, right? Sometimes you just gotta survive. And sometimes you want to do a bit better than survive. I mean, there’s no way Shaw got that wealthy without stepping on a few people, but we’re the bad guys because we want to have a few nice things. Banks are insured, anyway. I think robbing a bank’s actually a lot more moral than all those CEO’s getting fat while underpaying their workers.”
“A-fuckin’-men, buddy.” van Zante gave Pyro a high five. “Hey you wanna go grab a beer? It looks like this briefing is gonna take forever, and I can’t stand listening to that guy talk.”
“Yeah, sure, why not. van Zante, was it?”
“Peter. But call me Aqueduct.”

Other Writing Prompts
This is just a compiled list of prompts I’ve collected from Pinterest and other random places, but don’t particularly fit anywhere or just would only fit into the Marvel or Star Wars fandoms. I have other prompt lists that get more specific or more vague as well. If you want to use one in a request to me, just use the following ‘Character Name and Prompt No. 35 from the Other Prompt list’ for example + some details if you’d like.
I didn’t organize this list by mood since it’s about 200 prompts.
Key:
‘*’ Denotes something that could be used as dialogue.
[*] Denotes a swear word that I removed.
One evening, a portal to hell opens at the foot of your bed. A demon strides through, rips off your covers, and begins to drag you through the portal by your ankles saying, "you're going to help me settle a bet."
"But what is power?" "Loyalty"
The girl wrote in the journal as fluidly as fish swam in the sea, or birds rode the wind. It was beautiful, how gracefully she crafted her spells.
"You do know that when you wipe my memories, it doesn't actually work, right? One of the perks of being me." The villain froze at the hero's words. They'd just attempted their grand entrance four times in a row, trying to anticipate the hero's response. Blanking their brain when they didn't quite get it perfect. First impressions were important. PR won battles as much as soldiers did. "Don't worry," the hero grinned, looking the villain up and down slowly. "You're doing great. Very impressive." Now they definitely had to die.
The villain prowled closer, gaze intent. "Mm. The last time someone looked at me like that, we didn't get out of bed all weekend. Good times." "Cute bravado, it won't save you." "You're blushing."
"You could be so brilliant if you only turned your mind to creating things instead of destroying them." The hero murmured. They paused to tighten the villain's restraints, before glancing up to catch their eyes. "I've never seen anything like you. You're stunning." It was so earnest that, for once, the villain didn't quite know what to say. The hero wet their lips, practically on their knees. "Just let me help you, please. You'd be a terrible waste to the world rotting."
"Oh, I could just take you apart. See how long that cold, untouchable reputation of yours lasts then. You're trying so hard to pretend you're not even human, but look at that..." The hero pressed a hand above the villain's heart. They both felt it pounding far too clearly. This was not supposed to happen. There was a reason nobody was supposed to get close.
"If you want me," the hero panted, "come and get me." The villain paused, languidly sweeping a hand up and under their chin. "Want you in which way, Darling? Don't get me wrong, both involve ropes, but it's an important distinction to make before we proceed."
You're a villain that fell in love with a hero. Though the strongest villain on the planet, you constantly lose to your hero, since you just love the rivalry and don't want it to end. As you are being arrested one day, your hero is attacked by another villain; one too strong for them to beat.
Stab options: Slowly raise their hand to the wound and/or pull out the weapon impaling them while everyone stares in horror before collapsing to the ground from shock and/or blood loss and being caught just in time by a friend/lover.
Hide the wound beneath a dark item of clothing in preparation for the dramatic reveal later where another character touches them and their hand comes away bloody or they overexert themselves and they stumble and wince but still try to insist that they're fine,
even though they are clearly in pain and struggling to stay on their feet. And as the other character peels back their jacket it becomes clear that they're badly hurt and have been for awhile.
Character A tilting Character B's chin up to get a better look at their face and the evidence of the fight. Character A delicately thumbs away the streak of blood by Character B's mouth, saying nothing as they examine it. After a brief pause, Character B's heart skips a nervous beat as Character A looks them dead in the eyes. Their voice is quiet and tense, their anger barely restrained. "Who did this to you?"
"I will deny you death until you beg me for it."
"Hold on you died." "Yeah, well it didn't stick."
As teenagers, a boy and a girl agree to marry if neither have by their 35th birthday. Follow the boy as he attempts to sabotage every relationship the girl has till then.
The hero shows up at the villain's doorstep one night. They're shivering, bleeding and scared. There's also a slightly dazed look in their eyes--they were drugged. They look like they were assaulted. Looking up at the villain, swaying slightly as they are close to passing out they mumble, "...didn't know where else to go..." Then collapse into the villain's arms.
"I loved the woman you were before. Not this monster."
"I dare you to touch her again."
"By the Gods! You love her, don't you?"
"Come here." "Why?" "Just come here." "No, you're gonna hit me."
"Shh, shh." The villain wiped the tears from the hero's face and pressed a kiss to their forehead. "Don't struggle, you'll only make it worse for yourself."
"Hey, hey, hey. Baby, what's wrong?" The hero shuddered from the dram--startlingly vivid. Of fighting and faces, and the the icy clench of betrayal in their chest already fading into unconsciousness. And yet, they couldn't stop crying. Shoulders shaking, uncontrollable sobbing. The villain gathered them close, tucking the hero's head against their chest and making safe, soothing sounds. "Bad dream, huh? It's alright, nothing will touch you while I have you."
"Nobody touches you other than me, do you understand?" The hero looked at the other villain, dead on the floor. Dead before they even touched them. And they hated themselves for the flicker of gratitude, of feeling protected, when everything was all wrong and there was nothing safe in this game at all. Their villain was not kind. Only possessive. "Can we go home?" The villain liked it when they called it home.
They hadn't wanted this. Of course, they'd wanted the hero to stop fighting them. Wanted them broken, despondent, but... The person staring blankly at the walls, terrified of their own power, wasn't what they wanted. "Darling, you're beautiful. You don't need to be scared with me, I promise you that. Look--try and attack me and I promise I can stop you. You're safe with me. You couldn't hurt me if you tried. I'm just like you."
"You killed someone. Do you really think they're ever going to want you back?" The hero looked up at the villain, desperate, shattered. "I'll always want you, even if they don't." The villain said. "I understand what it's like. It was an accident, wasn't it?"
"You're not as evil as people think you are." "No, I'm much worse."
"I was a King!" He bellowed, spitting at the girl's feet. She smiled at him, her eyes sad and yet full of mischief. "And I was a god."
He pulled against the ropes with all his might, but they wouldn't give. "Don't bother," a voice said." He looked up to discover a thin girl bound with the same rope. Although it was dark, he could see her bruised eyes and wrists. "I already tried."
"Don't ever try to get inside my head," he snarled, slamming me against the wall. For several beats we stayed there, his grip crushing my wrists. Finally, his eyes softened. "It's too dark for you."
"You think you have a choice, and that's sweet and all, but it's time you take up the knife and do what you were made to do."
"You-you are--" "Beautiful, a genius, immensely talented--" "Dangerous."
"Sorry, I have a clingy and feverish assassin on my lap. I'll call you back when I've convinced him that a cold doesn't mean he's dying."
The villain pressed their lips to the hero's, silencing their sobbing pleas. "Shh." The villain murmured, angling their knife at the hero's throat. "It's better this way."
He was leaning against the wall, trying to support his own body weight, and his gasps of pain were like music to her ears.
"You just killed five men, what do you have to say for yourself?" "Oops?"
For a second, I thought she could actually see me.
Every person on the planet is born with a tattoo on each arm. One matches your soulmate, and one matches your worst enemy. However, most people have no clue which is which. You do, because they are both the same.
In a superhero-supervillain story, you're the hero's love interest, and as such, in classic use-their-loved-ones-against-them fashion, the villain keeps kidnapping you as leverage against the hero. However, an unfortunate complication has arisen; having spent so much time with the villain, you begin to realize you're falling in love with them.
You never kill the spiders in your home. You just whisper; "Today you, tomorrow me." When you set them outside. Now, in your most dire moment, an army of spiders arrives to have your back.
"I feel nothing for you. Absolutely nothing!" "Is that so?" His tone was amused, which irritated me more. "Yep. Nothing." He took one towards me with a smirk on his face. I swallowed, refusing to back up. He laughed at me discomfort. "Relax, Princess. I am not going to jump on you." That relieved me somewhat, until he added, "not until you ask me to anyways."
The hero shows up at the villain's house, hurt, broken and defeated. But it wasn't the villain and they are extremely angry that someone hurt their hero.
The phone rings. The voice on the other end says "we need you again." Then hangs up.
"What's the word for that infestation of tiny creatures over there?" "Those are children. That's a school."
Everyone has a guardian angel except you. You have a guardian demon. He deals with things in a much more violent, but more effective fashion.
"You have to go, you have to run away!" "Run from who?" "From me."
"Small fire! I said to set a small fire! This is not small!"
Two people running away from a blind, arranged marriage, in which one is supposed to marry the other, meet on the road by coincidence and fall in love with each other.
*Not every prince is charming
When people are born, they are assigned a soulmate. They have an original song in their head that only them and their soulmate know. A person just broke into your house and you're pretty sure they are here to kill you. They're humming your song under their breath.
"What? Do you think I enjoy this? This infatuation of mine? This horrible need to know you are okay?" To realize you can hurt me in a way no one for the past thousand years has been able to?" "Well, stop it then! If caring about me is such a nuisance to you, stop it! It doesn't do much for either one of us." "I CAN'T. That's what kills me. The fact that you can even ask that of me shows how ignorant you are about the power you have over me."
"I want to take a shower, so you should probably join me. It'll save water."
"It's midnight! Where the hell were you?"
"What the hell is your problem?"
"I might have slept with your [clothing article] when you were gone."
"No one has to know about us, I know this could ruin you."
"Just pretend to be my date."
"You should sleep." "I'm not human, therefore, I do not require sleep."
"You broke me and now you expect me to follow you out onto the battlefield? NO. The answer is NO."
"You take me instead, do you hear me? Give her back and take me instead."
"Wait, something doesn't feel right."
"Did you hear that?"
"Stay here and don't move. I'll be right back."
"You told me you were okay! You promised!"
"Why didn't you tell me?!"
"How long have you been covering this?"
"You've been trying to deal with this yourself?"
"We could have prevented this!"
"If you didn't want to be a burden, you should have gotten it treated right!"
"You didn't think it was that bad? Are you looking at it?"
"You are not fine!"
"You look really cute in that sweater."
"No, like... It's just, I can't believe you're actually wearing my clothes."
"You know I hear you talking, but I still don't have my coffee."
"Do you want to know the hardest thing about having a soulmate? It's not the separation in the beginning, not the endless nights lying awake, hoping and praying tha someone was made for you. It's... It's the love. It's too strong, and you can't fight it. I've tried. Believe me, I've tried... But I'm always going to love you. And I need you to know that."
"You would risk the lives of millions for one person? Why?" "Because it's not just one life... It's yours."
"This might sound selfish, but I don't care about the world. I only care about you."
"I still believe there is a good person in you."
"It was necessary."
"Did you think I really cared about you?"
"This was my plan all along."
"There was no other way."
"How cute. Struggle all you want, you won't be leaving this place."
"This is what you get from trusting me."
"It's too late to go back."
"I'm sorry this had to go down like this."
"That's right, I lied."
"It's all for a good cause."
"You were so stupid. You should have known."
"Just so you know... I don't regret anything."
"Shame. I kind of liked you."
"This is my responsibility."
"You will no longer love me if you see who I truly am."
"I'm a monster." "No, you're not."
"You'd better put that knife down."
"But I did all of this for you?" "I didn't want you to kill anyone."
Person A wins a big stuffed animal for Person B at an amusement park and offers to carry it for them. Person B says they'll carry it themselves and carries it around smugly.
While on a date, Person A very shyly touches Person B's hand and Person B reassuringly (and tightly) holds Person A's hand.
You press your ear against the wall, just in time to hear the scream.
AU where everyone is born with a very unique tattoo on their ankle, nobody else in the world has that tattoo. Every time you fall in love, their tattoo appears somewhere else on your body. (i.e a new tattoo appearing on a celebrity's body in new photos and a very lucky fan (who'd just met them), realizing that it's their tattoo.)
He/She kissed his/her brow as the world around them burned. "See you in the next life, my love." He/She whispered.
"Is everything supposed to go dark?"
"You'd better not die on me."
"They just got a lucky shot."
"Next time, don't call me over only to find you in a pool of your own blood!"
"You need to keep pressure on it."
When a character doesn't realize they've been shot or whatever and their hand brushes against their side and comes away wet with blood, and they're just staring at it like WTF is this and then their knees just totally give out on them and they sink down, maybe gasping a little as the reality finally hits them.
A character that knows they've been shot, but waits until the rest of their crew is out of sight to put their hand against the slowly spreading stain of blood on their shirt, then trying to steady their breathing so they can follow without letting on how injured they are.
Or the character who doesn't realize they've been hurt trying to see if everyone else is okay only to slowly realize that everyone is looking at them with mounting horror. Then they touch their side to find it's wet and oh no.
"Pull the trigger. PULL IT!" He screamed as he took the gun being held in his enemy's hand and pressed it against his own stomach. "I can't!" His enemy screamed. "I can't kill you!"
"You were more fun when we were kids," the villain sighed. "You worshiped me then. It was so cute." "When we were kids, you weren't such a colossal prick." The villain laughed and traced the weapon along their cheek. "Now, you know that's not true. You changed. Not me." The laugh dropped, to something more contemplative, softer, and yet no kinder. "Why did you have to?"
"Isn't that what people do?" The villain asked softly. "Learn to love each other? Could you not learn to love me? You-you who seem to have such a heart to love the world and everything in it?" The hero turned their gaze away, jaw clenched, pity and anger tugging at them in equal measure. "I would not be unkind to you," the villain persisted. Cupping the hero's face, thumbs stroking their jaw. "I would never." "Kidnapping people is unkind." The villain's grip tightened. "Making people fall in love with you and refusing to love them back is unkind." Oh, hell no. The hero knocked their hands away, expression ablaze with rage that they even dared say that. Their heart slammed, anger overtaking pity, teeth bared in a snarl. "I will never love you. Never."
"This isn't the way to make people love you!" "Love?" The villain laughed at that, fondly even, as they looked down at the hero kneeling before them, heat in their eyes. "My sweet thing, this isn't about love."
"All that time locked away, and not a note from you. No visits, no letters, nothing." The villain trailed their fingers along the hero's sides, relishing the sight of them all chained up for them. "You're lucky I'm nicer and won't just leave you here to rot, inmate." The hero snarled at them, making an indignant noise. "Aggressive behavior, now that would be a shot."
"I enjoyed your visits." The villain said, "but it's just not the same with a thick glass wall between us. I know you felt the same way." They didn't look at the hero, making cooing sounds at the hero's child in their lap. The hero's mind raced, desperately trying to think of some way to fix this. To calculate how long it would be before back up came. The very sight of the villain holding onto their baby left them sick with dread, even more so as the child gurgled and laughed. "You never told me about this little one, no they didn't, no they didn't." They smothered a kiss to the child's forehead. "They look like me."
"Shh, shh." the antagonist settled themselves comfortably on the protagonist's lap, looping their arms around them. One hand cupped the back of their head and stroked soothing fingers through the protagonist's hair, guiding their head to rest on the antagonist's shoulder. "It's alright, calm down..." The protagonist's wrists strained against the chains binding their limbs to the chair, heart feeling like it might jack-knife out of their chest, nerve-endings jangling. "Just match your breathing with mine." The antagonist continued, concerned. "We both know I'm going to hurt you regardless so there's really no point in having a panic attack about it. Come on, deep breaths. No
need to cry now, that's good. You can do it." They continued to make soothing sounds, crowning the protagonist's head with kisses.
"I really thought you could save me." The hero cradled the villain close, for now, too many things reeling through their head. "Yeah, so did I."
"You said if I did this, that we'd be done." The antagonist smiled, brushing the protagonist's hair back from their forehead. "You must have known that would never happen. Look at what a great team we make--we're unstoppable!" Their smile softened and the protagonist hated that it still made their stomach flip. "You're incredible!" "Incredibly done." "If I let you go, you'll die. The world can't maintain you the way I can."
"You were everything to me." And now, this. Betrayal and longing, relief at life and despair at monstrosity, sunk like a fish hook in their chest. Painful, inescapable. "How could you?" The antagonist's brow furrowed. They reached out a hand, gently catching the protagonist's tears on their fingertips. "You say that as if we've met before." The protagonist's heart dropped out. "What? You don't remember me?" The antagonist continued to stare at the tears for a moment before their hand clenched to a fist. They nodded to their guards. The protagonist struggled as the security seized hold of them again, dragging them up and backwards. Their desperation pitched. They grew sure. "You don't remember, do you? What's the last thing you remember?" "Oh, and gag them," the antagonist said, looking away. "They're boring me." "[NAME]--" the guards cut them off. The antagonist didn't look at them once as they were hauled out of the room.
They tried again, and again, and again. Each time, they were deftly deflected, tossed aside, pinned, knocked back as if their attacks and all their training was nothing. The villain was good. They tried for over an hour, ears ringing, nose bleeding, ribs cracked, fingers broken, until they were too exhausted to put any strength into a punch and the last lunge ended up more with them sobbing and shaking in frustration against the villain's chest. The villain caught their wrists firmly and twisted them into a more secure hold. They manhandled the protagonist, stumbling in front of the mirror so they could get a good look at just how pitifully outmatched they looked. "This is what you wanted? I'm sure your parents would be delighted to see this."
"Teach me." "What?" The villain started. "Teach me how to fight like you." It was the most incredible thing they'd ever seen. "...You want me to teach you how to kill me?" The villain let go and let them crumple to the floor. "[*]. I need a drink to deal with you."
"I said that's enough now." The villain caught hold of the hero's wrists as they tried to keep fighting, tossing their weapon aside before drawing them close. Arms wrapping around them in an embrace that might have been comforting if it didn't have the unyielding restraint of shackles. "There we go, easy now." You've been hurt enough for one day." Thrashing against the hold did nothing but exhaust the hero and eventually they sagged. They sank together to the ground in a tangle of limbs, rocking slightly. 'You hurt me,' they wanted to scream. 'This is your fault.' "Shh," the villain murmured--warned, they didn't even know anymore. "It's enough. You've done more than enough, you'e fought so bravely, but just listen to me. There's no shame in surrendering and living another day, right?"
The villain was curled up in their bed. Fast asleep, in their bed. No broken windows, no broken locks--just there. A bolt of rage shot through the hero before they got a better look at them and... Oh wow. They let them sleep, Tucked over another blanket and went into the kitchen and made food, something warm to drink and fished out some painkillers. Their eyes flickered over when the villain made a clammy appearance. "Sit down," they ordered. "You're not going anywhere until I've taken a look at your wounds." The villain sat, huddled up in one of the hero's old hoodies. "You're not interrogating me. Or angry." "Oh, I'm furious. But shockingly enough for once not at you. If I ask you what happened, you're going to run aren't you?" The villain didn't deny it. This was different, somehow.
"I loved you at your darkest."
The fighter frowned when I stepped into the ring, his stance slackening a little as he took in the sight of me. The roar of the crowd was deafening as they grew rowdy, waiting for the fight to start. But he said, in a low growl of a voice, "I don't fight girls." My lip curled as I replied, "too bad, because I fight boys." And knocked his legs out from under him.
"You took a bullet for me." The villain stared at them, numbly almost, as the protagonist gasped for breath that didn't want to come down. "That was stupid of you." They wished they had some excuse, some clever plan, but it had simply been instinct. They wished they had some witty comment, but it hurt too much to think. The villain stepped closer, standing over them. Watching them pant, propped weakly on one elbow, the other hand clamped to their side. "I wish you hadn't done that," the villain said. "So do I, [*]." They squeezed their eyes shut. They snapped open at the touch of hands, and the antagonist's face was right there. Close. "Are you scared? Do you want me to make it quick for you?" [*]. Really?
"You can't just keep me!" "You'd prefer I fight you and your friends?" The villain returned. "I wouldn't. And you are an excellent piece of peace-keeping leverage. A noble cause. I would have imagined you'd be all aboard.
"Don't do this," the antagonist entreated, anguished, wary. "You don't have to do this." The protagonist stared back, heart drumming in their ears, a dozen longings swelling beneath their tongue. "I don't want to. You're all I ever wanted." It hurt to, finally, admit it aloud and the antagonist's breath hitched. "But this is--this is wrong. Can you really not see that?" "Loving you can never be wrong." Their chest ached. "The things you do for love can."
"Not what you expected?" The villain smiled, frosty. "I had plans other than you too. I suppose we'll both have to make do." The hero drew back, wide-eyed, because no. This was not what they'd expected at all. A little awkwardness, a little chill, not a dead body on the bedroom floor. "What are you?"
"Don't worry." The villain caressed their partner's cheek, down the oh-so-vulnerable line of the hero's throat. "I won't hurt you. Suspicion always turns to the spouse first in these things." "I'll tell." "And then where would that leave you? Like it or not love. I'm all that you have in the world now. We need to look after each other."
When someone's heart breaks, so does a piece of our world; this creatures fissures,
valleys, and even cracks in the pavement. Tell the story behind the Grand Canyon.
"You're such a complete disaster." Groans the villain, scooping the unconscious hero off the sidewalk. "Like, holy hell, how does anyone let you out of their sight? Stop picking fights with people you aren't ready for."
"Fix it." "I can't." The protagonist dropped to their knees, a sick feeling curdling in the pit of their belly. "Please--see, I'm begging and everything. Fix it." They swallowed hard. "Please." Their voice cracked. "I can't." The antagonist said. They tugged one hand through their hair, jerking the other in a gesture for the protagonist to get up. "I'm not saying it to spite you, I literally can't. This is beyond my power. I'm sorry." The protagonist stared at them in numb disbelief.
"Hand over the girl." "Not going to happen."
"Does it hurt?" The hero asked carefully, looking at the huge scar that trailed from the other person's shoulder, down their chest to their stomach. The scar was pale in colour and bumpy; raised above the skin ever-so-slightly. The other person looked away, blinking fast. "It did. Years ago, when I first received it." "I can't believe someone could do this to you," the hero whispered. That got the other's attention, their head snapping towards the hero. "You did this. YOU did this to me and you don't even remember." They hissed.
"You need to eat something." The hero scowled, wrapping both arms around their grumbling stomach. "You need to mind your own business." The villain stepped forward slowly, arms held out in front of them, palms up. "You fainted on me last week, and I can hear how hungry you are. If you won't take my money, at least let me buy you some food. You help everyone, let someone help you for once. Don't let your pride stop you from taking the help you need to continue saving lives." The villain smiled crookedly. "To continue stopping me."
"Your city is in ruins. You are--" The villain stopped, gloves half off, and raised an eyebrow. "You're wrapped in my cape." Swaddled in the thick fabric, only the hero's face was visible, their expression trapped between a scowl and a pout. "It's cold down here, and you left it in reach. If you weren't too tight to heat your lair while keeping me prisoner down here, I wouldn't have had to resort to thievery." "You look adorable," the villain said, forcing a sneer into their voice. Because they did. They looked adorable and warm and perfect.
Character B bleeding heavily while Character A tries to staunch the blood, but Character B is more concerned about the fact that stoic Character A is sobbing and panicking.
When help is a few hours away and Character B has to stay awake, Character A rambles loudly about random stuff, trying not to break down and cry and to keep them awake.
"Show me your scars," he said. "But... Why?" She asked quizzically. "I want to see how many times you needed me and I wasn't there," he whispered, a tear rolling down his cheek.
"You go ahead, I'll hold them off for as long as I can."
"Don't talk to me. It's 6 AM and I haven't had coffee yet, so anything I do or say cannot
be held against me."
"Dude, that jacket is mine, give it back."
"YOU USED MY TOWEL?!"
"Where is he?" "My lady...." "Answer me."
"Wait, when did I take off my clothes?"
"I"m fully convinced you never graduated kindergarten."
"I'm not here, actually, this is a projection from.... [planet].... I moved there recently."
"You have no idea how to make toast?!"
"I haven't showered in four days."
"You're more zombie than human."
"Fix her." "No." "Because you can't or you don't want to?" "Because she'll break again. And you'll be back here, on my doorstep, begging me once more to fix something that wasn't meant to be fixed." "So you don't want to?" The healer's eyes were cold. "No."
"You made me love you." The hero said. They stared out of the window, quietly, watching the rain spit down across the streets. The villain froze in the doorway, studying them, the cup of love-potion spiked tea still cradled in their hand. "I've known for weeks," the hero continued, idly almost. They didn't glance over. "It's obvious. Too sweet in the tea." "You're still drinking it." "I wanted to see what you would do. Waited." The villain swallowed at that. They hadn't done anything--aside from give the tea. Perhaps that was the most damning thing of all.
"She's crying, what do I do?" "Go comfort her." "How do I do that?" "Start with hugs." "With what?"
"I always knew I'd take a bullet for you," I say as pain ebbs through my chest. He/She crouches beside me, clutching at my shirt. Sobs echo from him/her as my lids grow heavy from the weight. "And I always knew you wouldn't take one for me." I whisper and shut my eyes.
First she realized she was pregnant, then she realized her baby would only be half human.
An all female crew is picked for the first [planet] mission. They all come back pregnant.
Imagine a villain getting injured and losing their memory and the hero finds them and takes them back with them, taking care of them and the villain gets their memory back after like a week but doesn't say anything because the hero is being so nice to them and nobody has been that nice to them in so long and they don't want it to end and they're maybe getting fond of the hero, but don't tell anyone. But eventually something happens and the hero is in trouble and they're trying to get the villain to run away because they still think they're an amnesiac with no idea how to defend themselves and they've grown to like them and don't want them to get hurt, but the villain just pushes past them towards whatever is trying to hurt the hero and just goes guns blazing and destroys them.
"I wish I had a camera."
The shackles grazed her wrists as she changed positions in an attempt to get comfortable.
You live in a world where your soulmate is unable to hurt you, intentionally or otherwise.
You are fighting in a war when one of the enemy's knives harmlessly glances off of you.
The rain came down in heavy sheets. He pulled his soaked [type of hat] down to protect his eyes and moved forward. Where was she? Would he find her in time? A dark shape against the bridge railway caught his eye when the lightning flashed. He rushed forward and grabbed her arm, spinning her around to face him. He couldn't tell for the rain if she was crying or not, droplets streamed down her face. Her mouth opened to let out a cry, but when she saw it was him, she pleaded with her eyes. He only nodded and put his arm around her. He'd protect her.
My head pounded as the toxin flooded my veins, but when I looked at her I could tell what it was doing to her was much worse.
A woman has been dating guy after guy, but it never seems to work out. She's unaware that she's actually been dating the same guy over and over; a shapeshifter who's fallen for her and is certain that this time he'll get it right.
"What have you been doing? Actually, don't answer that, I don't want to know."
"You're hurt!" He pulled the arrow out of his chest. "Oh, that's nothing." She stared at him. She'd thought she'd seen the arrow pierce his heart. How was he even alive? He laughed. "Don't worry, dear. It takes more than one little arrow to kill me." She was pretty sure she'd seen his eyes glimmer for a second.
"It's 2 AM. I think that's enough of that."
"Watch, this is the best part!"
"Why are you doing this?!" The villain grinned, their malice as tangible as the ground beneath the hero's feet. "Because you fell in love. And you needed to learn that love won't save you when there's a gun to your head."
It's not like she meant to trip and spill coffee all over him. It was just the way of her people.
The villain gently lifted the hero's chin with a fingertip. "Don't you see? We're the same, you and I." The hero narrowed their eyes and smacked the villain's hand away. "You and I will never be the same. I'll make sure of it." The villain grabbed the hero's wrists in an iron grip before they even knew it was moving. "Darling," the villain chuckled, "you don't have a choice."
The villain snarled, "you will find the moment you hurt them is the moment I tear out your heart and shatter your bones. If you dare destroy them as you have threatened, then they'll find nothing left of you."
"You're not allowed to die, dammit!" The villain's voice quivered, threatening to break as they shook the hero's limp shoulders. "I promised myself you wouldn't die here. I promised you I'd get us both out of this. Dammit, I promised!"
The villain's breaths were shallow and panicked as they laid the hero on the ground, blood staining both their hands. "Damn it," the villain muttered as they ripped a piece off their shirt and pressed it flush with the hero's ribcage. "Why didn't you tell me?" "Didn't want you to think I was weak," the hero mumbled, their face an already alarming shade of white. The villain grimaced, tears blurring their vision. "Well, I'm afraid you're about to witness first hand just how weak I am."
"The world is ruthless, unforgiving. I came to realize that long ago when my wife was
stolen from me." She lifted her hood to reveal her face. "She wasn't stolen. She left."
The villain shook their head. "What a pity..." "Let me go!" Begged the protagonist again. "Please," she sobbed. "Please. "You could have been Queen. It's a pity you chose this path instead." The villain lifted their dagger.
"I"m the daughter of a King who forgot my name."
"Go to him. He waits for you."
*He became King because he wanted to marry you.
One night, a dark King appeared and offered me his hand, his heart, and his Kingdom.
Arranged marriage AU where I am the Prince/Princess who sneaked out to a tavern and while I was there I got into a fist fight with another patron. Fast forward to the next day where I am meeting the person who has been engaged to me since birth and oh wow your eye looks horrible, what did I do.
Your father is forcing you to marry someone you've never met. The night before your wedding you tie your sheets together and make your escape through the window. Halfway down, you make eye contact with someone doing the exact same thing a few windows over.
"If a god falls in love with you, you can never really die."
Person A and Person B are in the kitchen. Person A is short, while Person B is slightly taller. Person A: *Struggles to retrieve items from top shelf* Person B: "Do you need me to get it for you?" Person A: *Gasps* "How dare you insult the vertically challenged!" Person B: *Laughs* "Okay then..." Person A: (Moments later) *Defeated sigh* "Help meee....."
Person A: *Completely serious* "I have to get something off my chest." Person B: *Fingers crossed* "I hope it's your shirt, please."
Person A noticeably disheveled as they enter the room. "Sorry I'm late, I was doing stuff." Person B, also disheveled and grinning smugly enters the room after. "I'm stuff."
The villain smiled, watching the anguish on the hero's face as their so-called friends handed them over. "I guess," the villain sighed. "You're nobody's first priority." They reached out, pulling the hero closer by their restraints. "Except mine, of course. Don't worry. There's nothing I wouldn't do to keep you." The hero shivered, turning their head away.
"I'm all yours," the hero held up their hands. "Just leave them out of it. This is just you and me, right?"
The villain panted for breath, hands bloody--a little dazed and starting to shake. "They were going to hurt you. I-I panicked. I know it's bad that I--" "Shh." The hero held out an arm and the villain crumpled against them. "It's alright. You were only trying to protect me, weren't you?" The villain nodded. "Then I forgive you, it's okay. But you know there are going to be people who don't see it my way, who wouldn't understand like I do." "But you can make that go away. You can do anything." The villain said. It took everything the villain had not to shiver with delight.
"There," the villain carded their fingers through the hero's hair. "Isn't it better to feel clean?" No more blood or grime or gore on battered skin. Instead, fluffy towels, steaming water, soothing scents and oils which soothed all aches and pains. "It would
feel even better if you weren't in the room. Bit creepy, that." "You know you can't be trusted not to abuse my hospitality."
"Stop it." The command, the quiet authority cut straight through to the villain's brain. "You're overthinking," their sidekick said. "You know what you get like when you start overthinking. Come here." The villain moved over thoughtlessly. Their sidekick guided them gently down onto their knees, taking the villain's head in their hands. Their fingers massaged soothing circles and the villain's eyes fluttered closed. "That's right," their sidekick murmured. Good. Just focus on me. Take some deep breaths."
"You are so terrified that people will never love you, that they'll leave you," the protagonist murmured. "That you would never give them the chance to do either." The antagonist stilled in the doorway, just for a beat. The protagonist looked at them, heart seized in their mouth. "That's not love, you know. Love necessitates choice." "Just as well then," the antagonist replied. "That I'm not looking to give someone the chance to love me. Sleep tight." The door slammed shut behind them.
"I miss you." "You miss an illusion." But the villain paused all the same, hand rising as if about to touch. Faltering. Their hand dropped. They steeled themselves. "Take them away." Cold.
*And mighty we became.
"That has got to be the lamest pick up line in existence." "Don't worry that's just Plan A." "So what's Plan B?" "To take you hostage."
"I'm fine," the antagonist said. "Okay." "I'm fine." They'd just said that, and the protagonist was starting to look concerned. "Just fine. Everything's going to be fine." Oh wow, they couldn't stop saying it, couldn't stop gabbling it, couldn't breathe over it, choking on that word. Fine, fine, fine, always perfectly fine.
The villains lungs strained for air as the hero slammed them up against the wall, face inches away. Fear licked up their spine. "You're sorry?" The hero spat. "Sorry doesn't even begin to cover what you're going to be for what you've done. You don't get to cry over your guilt. You're not the one who got hurt."
In the heat of the moment, whether this is a fight, chase, or the characters are under gunfire; they escape and get to cover. However all is not well when Character A turns to see Character B leaning heavily against a wall, clutching at their side. Character B slowly looks up and shows a blood covered hand before saying, "so. Slight problem," before collapsing onto the floor.
"I love you from the bottom of my heart, but I don't trust your cooking. Stay out of my kitchen."
Person B dancing around their home, headphones in, eyes closed, singing as loudly as they please to their favourite song while Person A stands in the doorway watching their oblivious partner with a loving smile on their face.
Person A: "How can someone say Person B is evil? They're the most precious soft little soul." Person B: *Wiping blood off their face* "YEAH, I'M ADORABLE!"
Person A walked into the house, threw their bag on a chair, and laid down on the carpet with an air of defeat. Person B walked in a few hours later, saw Person A on the ground and set to work. They picked up a few blankets and pillows. Then Person B walked
over to Person A, laid everything out, then proceeded to lay down with Person A. Person A slowly curled up to Person B and fell into a restful sleep. Five hours later, they're still there. Just soaking in each other's presence.
Person A was sitting up in bed, headphones on and staring intensely at their Ipad screen, which flickered brightly in the dim room. Person B rolled over and slowly sat up, glancing at the clock and seeing it was well past 2 AM. Person B leaned up against Person A, with their eyes still closed and asked why Person A was still up. Person A popped out an earbud and quickly *states reason* and then turned their attention back to the screen. Person B yawned loudly, grabbed the device and tossed it off the bed. Right before Person A could protest, Person B curled an arm around them and forced Person A to lay down. Person A fell asleep within minutes, tucked securely in Person B's arms.
Imagine your OTP getting ready for bed and Person A is sitting on the bed. Person B tries to sneak up on them with a hug or a kiss, but Person A has quick reflexes and thinks they're being attacked. So they accidentally hit Person B in the face and they fall back onto the bed. Person A quickly realizes who it was then, and keeps saying sorry really fast and hugs them and kisses where it hurts.
Imagine Person A walking into the kitchen, only to find Person B in tears. Person A immediately rushes over to Person B's side, fretting over them, consoling and asking what happened. Surprised, Person B explains they were simply cutting onions.
Person A is baking cookies and has to split their attention between the timer and fighting off Person B, who keeps trying to steal cookie dough from the bowl.
Imagine your OTP making out on a couch, but then one of them accidentally rolls off and the other one is either frantically asking if they're okay, or laughing their head off.
Imagine your OTP ice skating and one of them falls so the other tries to help them up, but they lose their balance and fall on top of the other.
What if he held you tightly in his arms as you lay on his chest, drifting into sleep by the sound of his steady heartbeat. Feeling the slight vibration of his lungs as he hummed softly. His hands brushing lightly in your hair as his lips pressed against the top of your head, but stayed there for awhile. Then he let out a faint sigh, taking his lips away, seeming to be deep in thought.
You shift around in bed, trying to find a comfortable position. No success. You hear your boyfriend stretching. "Can't sleep, my love?" He asks, letting out a sleepy sigh. "Come here," he whispers. You move over to him and he snakes an arm around your waist and wraps his leg around yours as you rest your head on his bare chest.
As you lay in bed alone, struggling with reaching sleep, you toss and turn before huffing out in annoyance at still being awake. A small fraction of light creeps into your room until the door closes and the edge of your bed dips down underneath his weight. He carefully climbs under the covers, reaching an arm out for you, pulling you closer to his body, your back to his front. "You can sleep now, love. I'm home. I love you." He gently whispers in your ear, lightly kissing your cheek and then laying his head on the pillow next to you, leading you to fall into a dream-filled sleep of your boy being back home.

What Is This Feeling: Chapter 8
Fem!9th Doctor x Male!Rose Tyler
WITF Masterlist
The Doctor was in and out of consciousness. That laser almost hurt as bad as regenerating. She stayed silent. She didn't want to say anything that would make Van Statten blast her again. Suddenly a voice came over the intercom.
"Condition Red! Condition Red! I repeat, this is not a drill."
The Doctor lifted her head and made eye contact with Van Statten. Her voice was hoarse, but dead serious.
"Release me if you want to live."
He quickly followed her command and released the Time Lord. She had never gotten dressed that quickly in her life. Then again the entire world depended on it. Within minutes they were in Van Statten's office observing the cage from a flat screen on the wall. Ross was on said screen talking with them. The Doctor honestly couldn't be surprised.
"You've got to keep it in that cell," she told them.
"Doctor, it's all my fault," Ross spoke apologetically.
"I've sealed the compartment. It can't get out, that lock's got a billion combinations," the guard said.
"A Dalek's a genius. It can calculate a thousand billion combinations in one second flat."
The Doctor looked on as she was just proven right. The metal door slowly opened, and released the Dalek. The guard's started to do an open fire. Don't they know it won't work?!
"Ross, get out of there!" She commanded her companion.
Ross, the other girl, and the female guard managed to escape. The Dalek, however, was rolling itself towards the camera. Thus getting closer to the screen. It extended its plunger and broke the connection.
"We're losing power," Goddard gathered around the computer screen with Van Statten and the Doctor. "It's draining the base. Oh, my god. It's draining entire power supplies for the whole of Utah."
The trio was analyzing a holographic map of the United States. Utah blackened.
"It's downloading," the Doctor informed them.
"Downloading what?" Van Statten asked.
The whole West Coast blackened on the map.
"Sir, the entire West Coast has gone down," Goddard updated.
"It's not just energy. That Dalek just absorbed the entire internet. It knows everything," the Doctor stated.
Goddard started to pound away on the computer. "The cameras in the vault are down."
"We've only got emergency power. It's eaten everything else. You've got to kill it now!" The Doctor yelled.
Goddard spoke over the intercom. "All guards to converge in the Metaltron cage, immediately."
The three no longer had visual, but they still had audio. This was just as bad. They grimly heard the guards die one by one. They were soon all dead, and Van Statten couldn't care less. All he cared about was the stupid Dalek.
"This museum of yours, have you got any alien weapons," the Doctor asked.
"Lots of them, but the trouble is the Dalek's between us and them," Goddard explained.
"We've got to keep that thing alive. We could just seal the entire vault, trap it down there," Van Statten suggested.
"Leaving everyone trapped with it. Ross is down there. I won't let that happen. Have you got that?" She stared at the man with fire in her eyes. She then turned back to Goddard. "It's got to go through this area. What's that?" She pointed to an area on the screen.
"Weapon's testing."
"Give a gun to the technicians, the lawyers, anyone. Everyone. Only have one chance of killing it," she informed the assistant.
The Doctor sat down at the computer and began to attempt to get one of the screens to show visuals. After a few minutes the screen showed the loading bay. She practically whooped at her accomplishment.
"I thought you were a great expert, Doctor. If you're so impressive, then why not just reason with the Dalek? It must be willing to negotiate. There must be something it needs. Everything needs something," Van Statten question.
"What's the nearest town," the Doctor asked.
"Salt Lake City."
"Population?"
"One million."
"All dead. If the Dalek gets out, it'll murder every living creature. That's all it needs," the Doctor tried to explain to the stupid ape for what seemed like the thousandth time. He's turned out to be quite dense.
"But why would it do that?"
"Because it honestly believes they should die. Human beings are different, and anything different is wrong. It's the ultimate in racial cleansing, and you, Van Statten, you've let it loose! The Dalek's surrounded by a force field. The bullets are melting before they even hit home, but it's not indestructible," she tried to explain.
She turned from Van Statten and spoke to the screen. "If you concentrate your fire, you might get through. Aim for the dome, the head, the eyepiece. That's the weak spot," she told him.
Moments of anticipation passed. Soon Ross and the girl came running in, making most of them jump. They soon fled the battle area once again. It wasn't long after that the Dalek appeared.
The guards held open fire against the Dalek. None of the bullets affected it. The Dalek rose in the air and zapped the fire alarm. Water started to rain down from the sprinklers. Once the ground and metal beams were nice and wet, the Dalek zapped them. This caused the guards to all get electrocuted, and die.
The trio all stared at the screen in fallen silence. It didn't take long for Van Statten to start making an escape plan for himself. However, this needed to end. Now.
"You said we could seal the vault?" The Time Lord asked.
"It was designed to be a bunker in an event of a nuclear war. Steel bulkheads," the American confirmed.
"There's not enough power. Those bulkheads are massive," Goddard added.
"We've got emergency power. We can re-route that to the bulkhead doors," the Doctor told her.
"We'd have to bypass the security codes. That would take a computer genius."
"Good thing you've got me, then," Van Statten spoke as he sat down in front of the computer.
"You want to help," the Doctor was truly surprised at this.
"I don't want to die, Doctor. Simple as that. And nobody knows this software better than me."
Just then the large screen lit up with an image of the Dalek still in the rain.
"I shall speak on-ly to the doc-tor," it demanded.
"You're going to get rusty," the Doctor commented.
"I fed off the D-N-A of Ross Ty-ler. Ex-tra-po-la-ting the bi-o-mass of a time tra-ve-ler re-gen-er-at-ed me," it told the Doctor.
Her face was deadpan as she spoke, "What's your next trick?"
"I have been sear-ching for the Da-leks."
"Yeah, I saw. Downloading the internet. What did you find?"
"I scanned your sa-tell-ites and ra-di-o tel-e-scopes," it told the Doctor.
"And?"
"No-thing. Where should I get my or-ders now," it asked, almost sounding lost.
"All right, then. If you want orders, follow this one. Kill yourself," she told it honestly.
"Daleks must survive!" It shot back.
The Doctor could no longer take it. This foul creature was the reason she was forced to blow up her home planet, causing genocide for both races.
"The Daleks have failed! Why don't you just finish the job and make the Dalek's extinct. Rid the universe of your filth. Why don't you just die?!" She practically screamed at the creature.
There was a short pause before the machine spoke again. "You would make a good Da-lek."
Then the screen went to black. The Doctor's stomach dropped at the words. Her eyes were slightly widened as she stared at the black screen.
"Seal the vaults," she ordered quickly.
"Doctor, he's still down there," Goddard reminded the Doctor.
She quickly put a headset on, and called the number she knew by heart.
"This isn't the best time," Ross answered.
"Where are you," she asked.
"Level forty nine," he responded.
"You've got to keep moving. The vault's being sealed off at level forty six," she informed him.
"Can't you stop them closing?"
"I'm the one closing them. I can't wait, and I can't help you. Now for God's sake, Run!"
"Done it. We've got power to the bulkheads," Van Statten reported. Good news!
"The Dalek's right behind them," Goddard also reported in. Bad news!
"We're nearly there! Give us two seconds," Ross told the Doctor.
"Doctor, I can't sustain the power. The whole system is failing. Doctor, you've got to close the bulkheads," Van Statten said.
The Doctor was then left with an incredibly hard decision. Save her human, or let the entire human race get destroyed. No matter how much she wanted to wait for Ross. One race was already wiped out because of her. She was not going to let it happen a second time.
"I'm sorry," she said quietly as she hit the enter key, lowering the bulkheads.
Moments later, Van Statten spoke up.
"The vault is sealed."
The Doctor leapt up from her chair anxiously.
"Ross, where are you? Ross, did you make it?"
"Sorry, I was a bit slow," he sadly responded.
Her hearts stopped. Ross didn't make it. He was trapped out there because of her. Now the Dalek's going to catch up with him and she can't do anything.
"See you, then, Doctor."
'Oh God, he's saying his goodbyes!'
"It wasn't your fault. Remember that, okay? It wasn't your fault. And you know what? I wouldn't have missed it for the world."
In the background she could hear the Dalek's 'Exterminate', and the zap of its laser.
"I killed him," she said softly.
"I'm sorry," Van Statten apologized.
"I said I'd protect him. He was only here because of me, and you're sorry? I could've killed that Dalek in its cell, but you stopped me," she turned her self-hatred onto Van Statten.
"It was the prize of my collection!"
"YOUR COLLECTION!? But was it worth it? Worth all of those men's deaths? Worth Ross? Let me tell you something, Van Statten. Mankind goes into space to explore, to be part of something greater."
"Exactly! I wanted to touch the stars," he exclaimed.
"You just want to drag the stars down and stick them underground, underneath tons of sand and dirt, and label them. You're about as far from the stars as you can get," she paused in realization.
"And you took him down with you. He was nineteen years old."
Adele suddenly entered the office. The Doctor was quickly in her face, ready to release some more anger.
"You were quick on your feet, leaving Ross behind," she spat out.
"I'm not the one who sealed the vault," she yelled back.
The screen lit up with an image of the Dalek and a very much alive Ross.
"Op-en the bulk-heads or Ross Ty-ler dies," it demanded.
"You're alive!" The Doctor exclaimed excitedly. Oh was she so relieved.
"Can't get rid of me," he gave a small smile.
"I thought you were dead," the Doctor, almost tearfully, said.
"Op-en the bulk-head," the Dalek demanded once more.
"Don't do it," Ross yelled, attempting to be brave.
"What use are e-mo-tions if you will not save the man you love?" It asked.
It felt like time had slowed down.
'Love. Is that was this is? This confusing feeling I have for this pink and yellow human?'
No. It can't be love. How could a Gallifreyan possibly be in love with a human? They were two separate races! No. It just wouldn't work.
'Oh, my god. I'm falling in love with Ross Tyler,' she thought, horrified.
After her sudden epiphany, she looked at Van Statten.
"I killed him once. I can't do it again," she told him as she pressed the enter key once more.
The bulkhead opened. Ross and the Dalek made their way through.
"What do we do now, you bleeding heart! What the hell do we do," Van Statten yelled.
"Kill it when it gets here," Adele suggested.
"All the guns are useless, and the alien weapons are in the vault," Goddard stated, stressing out.
"Only the catalogued ones," Adele blurted.
Van Statten didn't look pleased. The Doctor shoved her towards the exit door.
"Lead me," she demanded.
Adele quickly took the Doctor down to her workshop. Once inside she showed the Time Lord the weapons. The Doctor went through the bin, tossing the useless items.
"Broken. Broken. Hairdryer."
"Mister Van Statten tends to dispose of his staff, and when he does he wipes their memory. I kept this stuff in case I needed to fight my way out one day," Adele explained.
"What, you in a fight," the Doctor scoffed. "I'd like to see that."
"I could do," she protested.
"What're you going to do? Throw your A-levels at 'em?" The Doctor grinned as she picked up a useful, and deadly, giant weapon. "Oh, yes. Lock and load."
Without second thought, the Doctor bolted out of Adele's workshop, and up the stairs. She was going to finally kill this thing and save the Earth. No, forget the Earth. She was going to save Ross.
Once the Doctor made it to level one she sprinted down the corridor. She stopped once she saw Ross with the Dalek. She didn't allow herself time to take in the situation. All she could feel was the adrenaline pumping in her veins, and the fury of her dead people. It was going to end, now! She held up the large gun, and aimed it at the Dalek
"Get out of the way." Ross just turned and stared at her. "Ross, get out of the way!"
"No. I won't let you do this," he protested.
"That thing killed hundreds of people," she said.
"It's not the one pointing the gun at me."
"I've got to do this. I've got to end it. The Daleks destroyed my home, my people. I've got nothing left."
"Look at it," he gestured to the squid-like creature inside the metal armor.
"What's it doing," she asked.
"It's the sunlight, that's all it wants."
"But it can't-"
"It couldn't kill Van Statten, it couldn't kill me. It's changing. What about you, Doctor? What the hell are you changing into," Ross asked.
Finally realizing what was going on, the Doctor lowered her gun.
"I couldn't- I wasn't- Oh, Ross. They're all dead," she said sadly.
"Why do we sur-vive," Dalek asked.
"I don't know," the Doctor frowned.
"I am the last of the Da-leks," it stated.
"You're not even that. Ross did more than regenerate you. You've absorbed his DNA. You're mutating."
"In-to what," it asked.
"Something new. I'm sorry," and she was.
"Isn't new better?" Ross asked.
` "Not for a Dalek," she replied.
"I can feel so ma-ny i-de-as," it spoke. "So much dark-ness. Ross, give me or-ders. Or-der me to die."
"I can't do that," Ross said quietly.
"This is not life. This is sick-ness. I shall not be like you. Or-der my des-tru-ction! O-bey! O-bey! O-bey!"
After a moment, Ross finally spoke up.
"Do it."
"Are you fright-ened, Ross Ty-ler?"
"Yeah," he answered.
"So am I… Ex-ter-min-ate."
Ross began to retreat to the Doctor's side, and out of harm's way. The Dalek closed up its armor, and began to hover. The balls on the Dalek detached themselves and surrounded it. The balls also formed a force field around it. The Dalek then imploded on itself. The Doctor nor Ross was harmed.
Once it was all over the Doctor dropped her gun. The pair instantly embraced one another and wouldn't let go. After a few moments the Doctor found her voice.
"I'm so sorry, Ross. For everything," she apologized.
"It's alright. You were upset," Ross soothed the alien. They pulled apart and Ross looked at the Doctor. "Tell me about it. The Time War."
So on their way back to the TARDIS, she told the tale of the Time War. Ross took all of the details surprisingly well. He seemed to understand.
Once back in the museum, the Doctor ran a hand over the TARDIS door.
"A little piece of home. Better than nothing," she said.
"Is that the end of it, the Time War?"
"I'm the only one left. I win. How about that," she gave a sad smile.
"The Dalek survived. Maybe some of your people did too," Ross suggested.
"I'd know. In here," she pointed to her head. "Feels like there's no one."
"Well then, good thing I'm not going anywhere," he grinned at her.
"Yeah," she smiled back.
The moment was short lived as Adele appeared with her bag in hand.
"We'd better get out. Van Statten's disappeared. They're closing down the base. Goddard says they're going to fill it full of cement, like it never existed."
"About time," Ross commented.
"I'll have to go back home," Adele said sadly.
"Better hurry up. Next flight to Heathrow leaves at fifteen hundred hours," the Doctor informed her.
"Adele was saying that all her life she wanted to see the stars," Ross said while giving the puppy dog eyes to the Doctor.
'Oh no! Not gonna happen.'
"Tell her to go and stand outside, then."
"She's all on her own, Doctor, and she did help."
"She left you down there," the Doctor accused.
"So did you." This shut her up.
"What are you talking about? We've got to leave," Adele asked confused.
"Plus, she's a bit pretty," the Doctor added.
"I hadn't noticed," he replied.
"On your head," she said regretfully as she unlocked the TARDIS and stepped in.
She walked over to the console and prepared for takeoff.
"What are you doing? She said cement. She wasn't joking. We're going to get sealed in. Doctor? What're you doing standing inside a box? Ross?"
"Oh, get in," the Doctor snapped.
This was going to be a long trip.

The Littlest Timelord: The Death of the Doctor Chapter 34
TITLE: The Littlest Timelord: The Death of the Doctor Chapter 34 PAIRING: No Pairing RATING: T CHAPTER: 34/? SUMMARY: The Doctor’s death is looming on the horizon and Elise is growing every day. What the Doctor doesn’t know is that he has 200 years to teach Elise all he knows. Amy, Rory, and River let Elise in on their secret, because River knows she will keep it. What will Elise do when he’s gone?
[A/N - Last chapter before the series finale!]
Craig paced the living room floor with Alfie in his arms as the Doctor worked on the Cybermat. Craig yawned. “I'm knackered. That thing was eating up the electricity?”
“And transmitting it up to the Cybership. But why? Why do they need power? Why are those conversions not complete yet, and what are they doing up there?” the Doctor asked.
“You said you were going to look at its brain.”
“No, I had to wipe its brain. Now I can reprogram it and use it as a weapon against them.”
Craig sat down next to the Doctor on the couch. “The Cybermat came after us?”
“No, after me.”
“They sent it after us.”
“After me. Because of me, you and Alfie nearly died.” The Doctor stopped working on the Cybermat. “Do you still feel safe with me, Craig?”
“You can't help who your mates are.”
“No. I am a stupid, selfish man. Always have been. I should have made you go. I should never have come here.”
“What would have happened if you hadn't come? Who else knows about the Cybermen and teleports?”
“I put people in danger.”
“Stop beating yourself up. If it weren't for you, this whole planet would be an absolute ruin.”
“Craig, very soon I won't be here. My time is running out. I don't mean Exedor. Silence will fall when the question is asked. Don't even know what the question is. I always knew I'd die still asking. Thing is, Craig, its tomorrow. Can't put it off any more. Tomorrow is the day I…” The Doctor looked back and saw Craig and Alfie asleep. He stood up and covered them with a blanket.
The Doctor and Elise waited for the sun to rise before leaving Craig’s house. Elise had spent the night crying in her father’s arms as he tried to comfort her. She knew this moment was coming, but she wasn’t ready to say goodbye to him yet.
“Safe mode. Clever me. Come along, bitey.”
They made their way to the department store.
“Morning!” Val greeted them.
“Morning. Teleport's still fused. They didn't repair it. So, the Cyberman last night. How did it get down here, how did it get out? And why, why, am I asking you?”
“You found the silver rat?”
“But where are the silver men?”
They went into the changing rooms.
“Secondary teleport. No, there is no other teleport. They must have had a back-up system. Something complicated, something powerful, something shielded. Something like a door? A door! A dyscillium-bonded steel door disguised as a wall.” The Doctor entered one of the changing cubicles and opened the door disguised as a mirror. “That is cheating. So, it didn't teleport down, they climbed up.”
Elise was about to follow the Doctor into the tunnel when he stopped her. “Stay here.”
“But…”
He cupped her face. “Please.”
Blue stared into green until Elise finally agreed.
The Doctor kissed her forehead and stepped back into the tunnel.
Elise left the changing rooms and found Craig. “Craig?”
“Oh! Elise! Where’s the Doctor?”
Her silence told him everything.
“Oh god. He went off alone, didn’t he?” He handed Alfie to her. “I’ve got to help him!”
“I know. You’re a good friend, Craig Owens.”
Craig ran off, leaving Elise alone with Alfie.
“Hello, again Alfie.”
Alfie whined.
“I know you like being called Stormageddon, but I’m not calling you that.”
Alfie started wailing.
“Alfie, shhh. It’s okay. Daddy will be back soon.”
But Alfie kept crying.
Elise tried bouncing him. “Oh, um. What if I sing? Yeah. Why are there so many, songs about rainbows, and what’s on the other side…?”
Singing didn’t help either. If anything, it made Alfie cry even louder. Elise had no idea what to do.
The Doctor and Craig stepped out of the elevator.
Craig ran over to Elise, who handed Alfie over to him. Alfie gurgled.
“That was another review. Ten out of ten,” the Doctor told him.
“The Cybermen. They blew up. I blew them up with love.”
“No, that's impossible. And also grossly sentimental and over simplistic. You destroyed them because of the deeply ingrained hereditary human trait to protect one's own genes, which in turn triggered a…a…a. Yeah. Love. You blew them up with love.”
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
While Craig was distracted, Elise and the Doctor made their way back to Craig’s house to clean up.
Craig entered the kitchen as Elise and the Doctor were coming in from the backyard.
“See, I do come back,” the Doctor said.
“How did you…?” Craig asked.
“Time machine. But even with time travel, getting glaziers on a Sunday. Tricky.”
“You went back in time? That means you used up your hours. What about Exedor?”
“What about you being in trouble with Sophie when she comes back? I couldn't let that happen.”
“We made quite a mess. Sorry about that,” Elise told him.
“You used up your time for me?” Craig asked.
“Course I did. You're me mate. I notice Stormageddon's very quiet and happy.”
Alfie giggled.
“Oh, he prefers the name Alfie now. And he's very proud of his dad.”
“He calls me dad?”
“Yes, of course he does now.”
Alfie gurgled.
“Yeah, I know. He's a bit thick, isn't he?”
Craig laughed. “Oi, shut up, you two.”
“Well, now it's time. I have to go.”
“Doctor, I know that something's wrong. I can help you.”
“Nobody can help me. I hope Sophie won't mind. I need these.” The Doctor picked up TARDIS blue envelopes. Everything was coming full circle.
“Where are you going to go?” Craig asked.
“America,” the Doctor said.
“Utah to be exact,” Elise added.
“Sophie'll be home any second. Are you sure…?” Craig asked.
“I can't miss this appointment, Craig. Goodbye, mate.”
Elise kissed Alfie on the head. “Goodbye, Alfie. One day. One day I’ll come back and we’ll see the stars.”
“Wait there. One second.” Craig left and came back with a Stetson. “From Sean's stag.”
“Wow.”
“You ride 'em, partner.”
“Oh, thanks.”
“Bye.”
There was a knock on the door.
Elise and the Doctor slipped out the back door and made their way to the TARDIS.
“Well then, old girl. One last trip, eh?” the Doctor asked.
Three stopped playing to watch Elise and the Doctor.
The Doctor approached the children. “Hey. I'm the Doctor. I was here to help. And you are very, very welcome.”
The Doctor and Elise entered the TARDIS and took off.

So what issues would you like them to tackle that hasn’t already been done on the show before?
(I just want to say this is my first ask ever and I've been here since... God maybe 2013? So thank you!!)
I would LOVE to see a new dimension to sexuality. I'm also casually of the team that's "Sara herself should say Bisexual" because Bisexual has only been said once on screen and Nate said it casually.. We have a scene where Sara says tells Nurse Lindsay that Lesbian isn't a bad word yet the show kinda doesn't act that way about Bi. Bi erasure is an issue that would be interesting-- since Sara is with Ava, it would be neat to have some line of "i didn't pick a team" or just along the lines of Still Bi With A Woman.
(They also missed an opertunity with Charlie to use neutral pronouns of some kind)--> a discussion further on gender identity would be cool too. There are casual set ups for this with Charlie, like in the Shakespeare episode, but nothing is ever really taken completely seriously or honestly even explicitly. I would really enjoy a nonbinary or intersex narrative in this particular context because I feel like the team of legends (as the people the characters are) would fit really nicely with that. But it would be cool to have a trans character that Gideon helps? Because the arrowverse trans character (in Supergirl-- Nia) is already transitioned. It would be cool to have a transitioning characer in a really casual way even (a particular scenario would be New Character leaving sickbey while someone else walks in. Other person asked if New is feeling OK and New just says like "oh yeah, just my hormones.). But yeah anything with gender identity.
I always hunger for more disability stories, but based on how they Wrote Sara's blindness... yikes. I remember watching a panel or something on YouTube about how Caity was hoping that Sara was at least going to have a cane or be shown to struggle with some stuff, but the writers ignored all of that. So its kind of touchy based on that but I think it would be really neat to have someone with a prosthetic (or even just an amputation, someone born without a limb, etc.)-- it would be a beautiful narrative about 'Gideon can literally grow you a new arm' and that character firmly saying no, this is me, having this difference doesn't make me less, you aren't "fixing" me because I'm not broken, I like myself, etc, whatever.
I know that for me personally one of the best things about the show is that Sara and Ava don't have to come out, and everyone just treats them like normal, but I think some kind of homophobia narrative would be good, not to a big extent but just to the extent like in S1 when Kendra and Ray move in 1950s and that dynamic only with the girls. Like, for the show to acknowledge homophobia in such a direct way, as they did with interracial relationships. This beyond the obvious homophobia of the Nazis. (I personally can't think of an aspect where its implied, but sometimes I can miss or misinterpret implicated stuff like that).
I would love to see a return to POC cultures and narratives (narratives outside of racism) S1 with Kendra and Carter and the Egyptian culture aspect, Amaya and Zambesi aspect. We see a tad bit of this with Zari and the bollywood scene, and Japan post WW2, but they are more side aspects now. It would be neat to go to India or other places in southeast Asia (culturally), or Central/South America. Overall, I would just like to see more of that cultural aspect because human culture is something that interests me a lot and I feel like can be easily casually thrown in with time travel--- traditional clothes, buildings, and ideals (an example of the ideals is the discussion in feudal Japan about the cultures views on death).
I feel like there was a lot of potential with Hank and Sara to continue that discussion about women in power. Yes, we have discussed this before. We do it a lot in second season with the JSA and even Jonah Hex but I think Hank had a lot of potential to add a dimension to that discussion. (honestly see next paragraph for more). That whole episode with the Minotaur i would have loved if they'd been a bit more explicit with that-- yes, obviously a woman can be in charge (in Hanks mind) but he has the right to walk in there and take over because her experience doesn't matter and also we will do whatever he wants. Sara spends almost the whole time just rolling her eyes and bitting her tongue besides a light quip in the beginning asking if a girls ever punched him. in the past Sara has literally exerted dominance over men so I was just kind of disappointed with that dynamic. I love the character of Sara as an "unconventional woman" or a "strange friend" and I've noticed comments like that pretty much stopped after the 3rd season. I know some people hated those comments but I think they can be good. I enjoyed them and would like to see them again because it's literally just Sara being unapologetically herself, a strong woman, doing whatever she does, no matter how weird or unconventional it is. (Which is an integral part of Saras character to me)
BUT its also not necessarily "new" issues. Issues don't go away in real life-- we had multiple issues about Race in America with Jax, from different points in history (Slavery and the 1950s). Jax even mentions how he still experiences Rascism today. The issues don't go away and just because they are mentioned once doesn't mean they can't (and shouldn't) be examined from other points in history. IE just because the show has talked about it before doesn't mean we can't talk about it again from a different angle and/or perspective.
I see a lot of potential with Astra with the racism thing (people are nicer to me in literal Hell) but it also would have been interesting with Mona, to show a different type of racism would have been INCREDIBLE.
I also can think of maybe a scene or two that would have just been a nice touch with Zari (either one, but I have a soft spot for Zari 1.0, and I think with her life as an illegal Muslim would have been an enriching perspective) as a Muslim. They are very good to her character in the way that she obviously abstains from Liquor and Pork, and observes Ramadan. But one thing that would have been interesting is for Zari to experience early 2000s (or honesty still right now) xenophobia. Especially Z1 since being a Muslim is Illegal in 2045 there was a lot of emotional potential there. (Although I feel like I can understand why the writers didn't want to touch that because of current conflicts).
Since we're going to outer space (that was actually confirmed right? Or was it just hinted and I misread??), I think issues will have to be character driven rather than time period driven. But therin we have a lot of potential-- a race of aliens without distinct genders (wait, so your worth can be dictated based off of your genitals?? Plus sexuality stuff there), aliens confused about race (I don't understand some of your skins are different colors... and your people treat each other differently based on this?). We could introduce a matriarchal society, which the crew with Captain Lance feel particularly unphased by. Perhaps we have a completely pacifist society or aliens made of inorganic materials (debates about what constitutes as alive, what lives are meaningful, etc.) You get the idea(I adore star trek so you can imagine my glee thinking about some of those scenarios).
I think for me, the hard shift to comedy was at the expense of some of my favorite aspects of the show and also things that set it apart. This Found Family is so rewarding because they are all so so different but those differences enrich each other. They become better people and feel at home without having to change who they fundamentally are. And they are whoever they want to be. I feel like now the show has simply had an incredibly jarring tone shift thats trying too hard to be a comedy. (This one is just an opinion but a joke among all the serious is always just a lot more funny to me. I find myself laughing more at one liners and random stuff in the early seasons. Now it feels like 'ok, what's the next ridiculous thing.')
I think... humanity is pretty dark. But humanity also rises above. This is why I adore the episode from post WW2 Japan and to me it personally really stands out from other episodes in s4/s5. The idea of creating and destroying, pain and sadness locked inside, terror and hatred for the beings you share the planet with. That pain creates monsters. Sometimes by accident. (Sara's pain turned her into the version of herself she called a monster.). And also about embracing your passions (Mick hiding his writing). In that episode, we still have jokes about Godzilla. Garima appears and its hilarious. But it's also an incredibly powerful narrative about pain and fear and shame and gives a perspective that the western audience wouldnt... necessarily think about (the actual consequences and what the bomb actually literally did.).
That darkness makes the light so much more meaningful. If everything becomes light... than why are we still fighting?
Sorry if this is jumbled, I'm on mobile so.
Also, sorry if this is a rant or whatever. I am very passionate about this topic and oh boy if I was on a computer and had the time I'd probably repondd with a link to a doc.

What’s in a Name? [Drabble]
Earth. That shining jewel she had once coveted for so long, the last set of Sailor Crystals to be collected, besides those insignificant ones from the Kinmokusei System, floated before her in the endless void of space, held in its place by the pull of the sun. Sol, she remembered their star was called. Could she even remember the name of her planet? Her system? Her star?
It didn’t matter anyway. She knew she could never return, even if she remembered, she had never belonged there. She had vague memories, ones she had long repressed, of abuse and poverty before her Sailor Crystal had awakened. She had left that world behind in search of a better one and in doing so found Chaos, who had led her down a path of destruction.
Sighing heavily, she ran a hand through her hair and rid herself of those thoughts. She had long since abandoned the ornate headdress, thinking it made her less intimidating. She even added a cape, the stylistic change after her rebirth just felt...right.
Feeling she had put this off long enough, Sailor Galaxia squared her shoulders and teleported down to Earth, specifically to Tokyo. She let her armor fade, wearing the simple white dress she was fond of. She felt the eyes of the human men, and some women, on her as she wandered the streets, taking in the feel of the city. She suppressed a sneer and walked with purpose, even if she really had none. Earth was the last stop on her ‘Redemption Tour’ as Sailor Mermaid had affectionately called it.
She had visited the planets of her former Animamates first. Visiting them in the order they had fallen. She had offered Lethe and Mnemosyne the chance to travel with her but they had decided to stay on their own worlds and find a way to bring peace in their own way. She had made such an offer to her false Senshi after ensuring their resurrection but they had all refused, and she held no ill will for their decision. She had lied to them, made empty promises she never had the intention or power to keep.
Galaxia lost in her thoughts, came to a stop in a park. She observed a happy couple, the woman with short red hair, and the man with long auburn hair and simply let them be, continuing on her way. The couple however, had noticed her, and the man sensed what she was and sent a message to someone.
The wandering senshi came to a stop at the edge of a lake, looking out over the water. It was here, much later, when Sailor Moon, in her civilian guise, found her. “Sailor Galaxia?” She asked tentatively, as if she wasn’t sure the woman before her truly was who Sailor Moon thought she was.
Galaxia turned, a tired smile on her face, “Hello Sailor Moon. It’s been a while.”
Usagi smiled in return and came to stand beside the older woman. “It has. What brings you back to Earth?”
“It’s done, what I set out to do,” Galaxia was looking at the lake once more. “I have helped to restore all that I destroyed.”
Usagi’s eyes lit up, “That’s wonderful,” She said excitedly but then her face fell. “But why didn’t you ask for help. I would have gladly used the Silver Crystal to help.”
Galaxia turned to look at Usagi, a small smile on her lips, sadness in her golden eyes. “This was something I had to do alone. I restored the planets of the Animamates first, then Kinmokusei, then I traveled across the galaxy, restoring the worst damage first. But there were some places I could not help.”
She lifted her hand, which had been resting at her side, she opened her palm and five tiny Sailor Crystals appeared, blossoming from golden flowers. “One Senshi...her planet was ravaged by war the moment she returned, their cycle of reincarnation was broken. I tried to help, but there was nothing I could do. She shattered her own Sailor Crystal into five pieces, in the hopes that one day, they would mature, and the remaining members of the cycle would each have their own Sailor Senshi.” She closed her hand and the tiny Crystals disappeared.
Usagi put her hands over her mouth, tears welling in her eyes, “Just like Elpis...before she became Dreamer and the Sailor Quartet....”
Galaxia nodded sadly. “It will take generations before Xindi is ready for Sailor Senshi again. I pray they find their peace,” She looked up to the sky, but since it was still daylight, the only visible star was Sol.
“You did what you could,” Usagi put a hand on Galaxia’s arm. A few more moments of silence passed before Usagi asked, “I’m curious, and you don’t have to answer if it will make you sad.”
“What is it Sailor Moon?” Galaxia askew curiously.
“What about your own planet? Did you go back and help them too?” She asked.
Galaxia froze, staring at Usagi like she had grown a third eye. Finally, she cleared her throat and looked back out at the lake. “No,” She answered simply. “I only have vague memories of the place, but none of them are pleasant, I never wished to return, even before I met Chaos. Whatever my home was, it was never a place for me. It was never my home.”
Usagi frowned, “I’m sure it wasn’t that...bad...” Usagi looked apologetic at Galaxia’s sharp glare.
The wandering soldier sighed, “I apologize Sailor Moon, I would simply rather forget the place of my birth and be done. I never grew up with the kind of love and support that you did. I was alone, unwanted, impoverished and abused. I never had any sort of self worth until I gained the power of the Sapphire Crystal.” She looked down at her hand and the broach now within it.
Much to the surprise of Galaxia, Usagi stepped up beside her and put her arms around Galaxia, giving her a comforting hug. “Well. You have it now. Me and the other Sailor Senshi of this planet, we’ve already forgiven you for everything and we’re willing to give you a home here. You can have a place to belong.” Usagi looked up at her with that warm, caring smile that had infuriated her so long ago, now it just filled her with shame.
“I...I don’t deserve your kindness Sailor Moon...” Galaxia looked away, trying to hide her blush behind her long golden red hair.
“U-sa-gi,” Usagi pronounced her own name with a smile. “My name is Usagi. I am Usagi first, Sailor Moon second, and Serenity last.”
“Usagi...” Galaxia tested the name on her tongue and couldn’t help but smile. Of course, such a shining, beautiful young woman would have such a name.
Usagi stepped back, but still held one of Galaxia’s hands. “That’s better,” She beamed, “Now, what do I call you?” She tilted her head, looking at Galaxia, “I’d rather not call you ‘Galaxia’ all the time. It just seems...too formal,” Usagi scrunched her face, clearly not liking the idea.
Galaxia blinked. It was something she hadn’t considered in a long time. Ever since her Crystal had awakened, she had never been anything other than ‘Galaxia’. Rather than dredge up old memories that she would rather forget, Galaxia simply looked at Usagi and told her, “I don’t remember, ever since my awakening as a Sailor Senshi, I have always been ‘Galaxia’. I don’t think I could remember my birth name if I tried.”
Letting go of Galaxia’s hand, Usagi put her hands on her hips, pouting. “Well, that just won’t do!” She snapped her fingers, “I know! Why don’t I have you a new name?”
Again, Galaxia blinked at the younger woman, “A...new name...?” She had been clinging to her identity as Galaxia for so long, she wasn’t sure what a new name was supposed to do.
“Yeah! Something like.....” Usagi sat on the nearby bench, crossing one leg over the other, placing her chin in her hand and resting her elbow on her leg. She was in such a deep concentration that Galaxia swore she saw smoke coming out of the blonde’s ears. She had to admit It was rather endearing.
Finally, Usagi jumped up, pointing her finger in the air with a look of triumph on her face, as if she had just discovered the cure for cancer. “Gingano Hikari!” She pointed to Galaxia. “I hereby name you Gingano Hikari!”
“Gingano...Hikari...” Galaxia translated the words and her cheeks became as red as the tip of her hair. “Sail--Usagi...I do not deserve such an honorable name.”
“Of course you do!” Usagi insisted, grabbing both of Galaxia’s hands with hers. “You may have caused all of that destruction, but you helped to fix it too. You have done more than you needed to to make up for everything. You’ve more than earned it.”
Galaxia looked down, unsure what to say until finally she whispered, “Thank you, Usagi-sama.”
Usagi smiled and pulled Galaxia into another hug, “You don’t need to thank me. You are a Sailor Guardian, a sister, a friend. And I would be honored if you stayed on Earth for a bit longer, so we can get to know each other as proper friends Hikari-chan,” Usagi smiled up at her.
A smile slowly spread across her face, a true genuine smile, full of warmth, hope, love. “It would be my honor Usagi.”
Usagi beamed and pulled away, keeping Galaxia’s hand in hers as she led her out of the park, “First thing’s first: Shopping. While that dress is cute, if you wanna stay on Earth you gotta look the part.”
For the first time in what felt like centuries, Sailor Galaxia let out a genuine, happy laugh.

Past of the future, future of the past...
Chapter 7. Never the same. "Entering Hoenn airspace!" announced the navigator. "Current speed - 100 km/h, altitude - 10 km." "Coolant temperature… normal," added mechanic. "Reactor’s working at optimal capacity. Main propellers rotating at 300 rpm, blades angle set at position 4." "Good," responded the captain, looking in the front window. "Rad-scans?" "I think directed rad-scanners are picking up something in the Meteor Falls… looks like our target," said the radiation safety officer. "Pilot - drop us down to 3 kms and lower the speed to 30 km/h. When we'll be directly above the Meteor Falls - shut down the primary propulsion and deploy the auxiliary thrusters, then transfer the control to me." "Acknowledged, commencing corrections," replied the pilot, slightly shifting joystick and thrust control rudder. "Good," noted the captain, then relaxed a bit. Right now, they were escorted by a few of military helicopters, tiltjets and some Hoennian military Pokemon, just in case anyone gets the wrong idea upon seeing such a great airship. After all, it was equipped with a nuclear reactor for power source and, should the rest of the airship be destroyed and the ultra-durable protective shell breached, will cause a lot of contamination… ---- "Your Majesty… your Majesty..." a scientist in Zemlino carefully tried to wake up the Emperor, who was sitting asleep in the chair near the ORBCOM station, after all those crazy events of yesterday. "Hm?.. If there's a third moon around the Red Planet - notify the Team 37, especially if it turns out to be an… eyed balloon or something…" the Emperor replied without actually awakening, being, apparently, in the midst of some bizarre and adventurous dream. "Again…" the Empress, who has just recently arrived to the flight control center, sighed, knowing a bit too well, just how enthusiastic her husband could get about anything aerospace-related. Especially after the first manned flight, when he has, somehow, managed to get into the SP-04 "Black Bird" spaceplane and, therefore, become the first human in space... "Anyway… now with the "Red Explorer" around the Moon, "Hauler" preparing to deorbit and "Dreamwing" back in hangar… we need to decide, how to direct the space program," said director of Zemlino FCC. "During the last nine months, it was directed solely towards building and launching the nuclear pulse battleship to open the road towards the skies again, with a few resupply vessels for it, but now, once we did it and made our intentions on keeping it open clear… what do we do?" "Honestly…" Empress started, in uneasy voice, "... I don't know. I mean, yes, we've opened the road to space again and people of the Empire are very happy about that, as well as showing Nation, that we're no jokes, but… I'm not really sure, what kind of directions are to be made of greater priority." "Orbital factories," Emperor replied, waking up upon hearing it at once. "Factories? Well… yes, they can be of use, but…" began director, only for the Emperor to interrupt him: "No buts. Even though I'm not big at ruling, I think we should capitalize on our success and get the info about the materials, which can be produced only in microgravity, and how they can help to improve the lives on the ground. I think info about the orbital hospitals can also help, since they are something everyday human can understand. If they start telling, that it'll be only available to aristocracy and rich - we should capitalize on grandiosity of our new Integrated Program Plan. It's finally time to put it back into action and make it reality." "... I guess," sighed Empress, thinking about words of her husband. "No time for guessing. We must make them realize, that the only way for them to get access to all the cool space stuff is to support the space program and help it grow as never before. We're on the verge of greatness now and we must achieve it." "Hopefully, you succeed at this," said director of the FCC, "because I'd hate the program falling apart, after all we've done..." "We all would," replied the Emperor and the Empress at the same time. ---- "So… that's it," murmured Damien, seeing gigantic nuclear-powered airship soar through the skies back to Soris, carrying highly radioactive corpse of Rayquaza inside the shielded cargo section. For all of the Draconid People, it was one heck of a blow - not only the Dragon Lord was killed, but they could not even bury it properly, having to allow sorisians to stuff it into an underground nuclear waste dump. And, what's worse, none of them could do anything about it - not only Rayquaza's corpse was radioactive enough to be able to give human a fatal radiation poisoning in matter of a few minutes, burying it in classic way would've allowed the leaking isotopes to, eventually, contaminate the groundwater and cause a big ecological catastrophe. "Grannie…" started Helian, "... What will happen now? With no Dragon Lord?" "I don't know," said the Elder, looking at the airship too. "But I think, that the world will never be the same…" ---- "So, we're done with preliminary checks," sighed mechanic, who was servicing the "Dreamwing" in the hangar #2 of Zemlino Space Center. "So far, everything looks fine." "Great," replied commander of the spaceplane. "Hopefully, our birdie will stay fine in the future too." "Hopefully… but it may get replaced with the new nuclear-powered spaceplane soon, when they iron out the hiccups of nuclear turboramjets and aerodynamics of the aft. I've heard Emperor got opposed to the idea of jettisonable aerodynamic tail cone and they're busy developing something, which will allow everything to come up and down in one piece." "Cool. Almost like our machine." "Yeah. From what I've heard, test flights of the SPN-01 "Blizzard", the first BLUEBIRD spaceplane, should start pretty soon. And with no Rayquaza around, they should be safe enough." "Safe, you say… the debris is still in place, though. And I don't think, that this spaceplane can be as armored as the battleship we've launched recently." "Well… yeah. Still, we've managed to take a flight to the "Red Explorer" and spend some time up there, so, maybe it won't be as bad. Besides, I've heard some rumors about how there are plans for dual-purpose weaponized satellites, which can both destroy targets in space and use their weapons for clearing space junk." "Hm… Interesting and kinda makes sense. I guess those laser researches in the ISFs 5 and 9 will be put to good use, after all." "I guess." "Hi, guys," said the engineer of the "Dreamwing", approaching the two men on this catwalk. "Anything wrong with sensors?" "No, nothing is wrong with them," replied mechanic and was a bit surprised upon seeing, how crewmembers of the "Dreamwing" suddenly got grimier and exchanged looks of understanding. "I guess we may have another dragon problem soon enough…" stated the commander, looking at the machine. "And who knows, if we'll have to resort to warships again…" ---- Awake. Alive. Those were the first thoughts of the young dragon. Right now, it did not understand the situation yet, but some strange memories, belonging both to the dragon and not to it at the same time, were flooding its mind. It was slowly to understand some things, but not too fast. It understood, that its name was Rayquaza, the Sky High Pokemon. It understood, that it exists to protect the skies and deal with Groudon and Kyogre. It understood, that something must've happened to its predecessor, if it was awakened right now. With those thoughts, young dragon has struck the hard shell of the egg and broke it apart, freeing itself. As it has just remembered, despite most of the Legendaries, like itself, being near-immortal, there were still contingency protocols in events of something exceptional happening. And, apparently, something exceptional it was. The young dragon has remembered the last moments of the old dragon, when it fought some huge cone-cylindrical metallic construct and, somehow, was struck down by it. Whatever moves this construct was using, they've had near-infernal power. And young dragon could not allow itself to suffer the fate of its predecessor. For now, it will lay low and explore, as it grows back to the power level of a full Legendary. Then… it will depend on circumstances. With those thoughts, young pitch-black serpentine dragon took off, flew past the obstacles and left the cave, well-hidden in the mountain range. Right now, it had to, first and foremost, survive and grow up. ---- Inside the bridge of the huge sorisian airship, there was not much action now. Rayquaza's highly-radioactive corpse was now in the reinforced storage, they were en route home, everything on the airship worked perfectly… honestly, it was kind of boring. "Guys…" started the navigator, "Do you remember our first assignment? The aerial expedition to Alola?" "Oh, I sure do!" replied the pilot, shifting in the chair a bit. "How we all have flown to it, how we've spent a decent amount of hydrogen burnfuel for our recon plane and heavy-lift helicopter, how technicians were able to assemble the mooring masts in just three days… that was the time!" "Especially with how we've managed to bring some Flygon eggs to Soris. Who knew, that those insect-dragons will become so popular at our home!" "Well… they did become popular with our colonists, didn't they? I mean, by the end of our stay there, quite a few people liked their partner 'Spirits of Change'. Including you." "... Yeah. Also…" With those words said, pilot reached out for one of his MFDs, quickly selected "security camera feeds" options and looked at the feed from the top hangar a bit. In it, an insect-dragon was quietly sleeping, curled near the tandem-rotor helicopter - much like during their return from the expedition. "... Nah, she's fine. Took Sunny form for some reason, though." "I would've said because of our cargo, but it'd be stupid. By the way… strangely enough, but native Alolan Flygon seem to be extinct nowadays, with Hoennian subspecies, somehow, having replaced them." "Hoopa's shenanigans again?" "Likely. May also be combined with the fact, that Hoennian Flygon, while lacking the sheer versatility of its Alolan progenitor, is better adapted to the desert conditions. I guess they've just lost the competition there." "And our region has preserved those dragon-bugs. Cool." "I guess. I've heard from some of my friends in ISF 4, that some scientists from Hoenn and Alola would be really happy to get more data about the extinct-for-them Alolan Flygon." "Likely." Author's notes: ISF - Imperial Science Facility. ORBCOM - Orbiter Communicator. MFD - Multi-Function Display. Sorisian nuclear airship is based on that. BLUEBIRD spaceplane is based on the real M(G)-19 "Gurkolyot". Alolan Flygons are based on that wonderful picture.

Dragon Ball Z 260
Last time, Gotenks said he was out of ki to continue the fight with Majin Buu, so Piccolo did the only sensible thing and destroyed the door to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. This had been his backup plan from the beginning. By leading Buu into the Chamber to fight Gotenks, Piccolo knew he could blow up the door and trap them all inside forever.
One thing I find odd is that there’s a lot more wreckage left behind in this episode than in the last. Oh well, with all the artists working on this show, I’m surprised these continuity glitches don’t happen more often. Anyway, Gotenks is pretty upset about this, because he really did have more power to fight, and only pretended otherwise to make things more dramatic. He had no idea that Piccolo would be desperate enough to do this.
Buu, on the other hand, is still trying to sort out the ramifications of this, since he didn’t know the HTC was actually a separate dimension from Earth. Piccolo has to explain to him that he’s trapped here, and Buu’s first thought is that there’s no candy in this place.
So yeah, we’re only about a minute into this exile, and morale is already low.
Outside, in the temple of Kami’s Lookout, Mr. Popo reports that the door has been “closed off”, but they never actually show what it looks like from this side. Everyone here just notices a rumble coming from that general direction, and I guess Popo saw for himself, but this is never shown to the audience.
All we really get is this staircase, which I guess must lead to the entrance to the Time Chamber. That’s kind of a ripoff, if you asked me. What happened to the door on this side? I mean, it must be blown to bits, but what’s left where the doorway used to be? Does the wall just continue across, unbroken? Did the doorway sort of collapse in on itself, like a black hole?
While I’m on the subject, it’s weird how the doorway seems to be in a completely different place than it was in the Cell Saga. Then, the doorway seemed to be pretty close to the outside of the temple, but now, it looks like you gotta work your way pretty far into the building to get to it. That’s one of those things that’s probably a continuity error, but you can’t entirely rule out the possibility that it’s supposed to be that way. For all we know, the rooms and passages of the Lookout are constantly shifting and rearranging, like Hogwarts, only Mr. Popo isn’t a shithead, and he actually shows people where everything is instead of leaving them to fend for themselves.
Bulma’s upset to hear that the boys are trapped in the Time Chamber forever. The Dragon Balls can be used to wish them back out, but that doesn’t change the fact that it came to this. She blames all the men for standing back and letting children fight the monster for them. That’s pretty rich coming from Bulma, of all people. She’s been letting Goku and Gohan fight her battles for her for decades. And she should, because they were super-duper strong. She knows how this works. Ox King, Yamcha, Krillin, and Roshi are four of the strongest humans on the planet, but they can’t even touch Majin Buu, and Bulma knows that. Chewing them out doesn’t solve anything.
Inside the Chamber, Gotenks admits that he was fibbing when he said he was at his limit, which means Piccolo trapped them all here for nothing. Piccolo is furious. Why would Gotenks say something like that if it wasn’t true?! And Gotenks is angry with him as well. Why would he take such a drastic measure without warning anyone? Because you said you were out of power, you little shit! What’s amazing about Gotenks isn’t that he takes these situations so lightly; it’s that he’s constantly surprised that anyone else would take them seriously.
While they argue, Buu throws a fit because he can’t have any candy.
And somehow, his desperate cries open up a portal that leads back to the Lookout. I never thought about this before, but could this be how the doorway to the HTC was originally created? Some ancient Kami yelled really loud?
The whole thing seems a bit convenient to me, but now that I think about it, it’s not like this is any less ridiculous than the notion of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber being here in the first place. Maybe the boundary between dimensions is unusually permeable here, which made it possible to construct the permanent doorway in the first place. Buu has just accidentally exploited that.
Anyway, Buu jumps through and makes it to the other side before the hole closes, leaving Piccolo and Gotenks stuck inside.
The nice thing about all of this is that it does sew up an idea I had always toyed with after the Cell Saga, when the Time Chamber was first introduced. Instead of using it to train Goku to fight the androids and Cell, why not just lure the androids or Cell inside? Even if you don’t destroy the entrance, it’s supposed to vanish on its own if anyone spends more than 48 hours inside, so it always seemed more useful as a trap than as a training ground. Like the Phantom Zone from the Superman mythos.
So it was always satisfying to see that Piccolo had the same idea in this arc, and it’s also satisfying to see why it wouldn’t work. Given enough time and power, a bad guy could find a way to escape, just like Buu is doing here. Maybe Cell wasn’t strong enough to pull this trick off, but he’d have unlimited time to train, until eventually he would become strong enough. Maybe. The point is that if Buu could do it, it just isn’t worth the risk.
On the Supreme Kai Planet, Goku senses Buu’s ki immediately, and he wonders what’s going on, so the Elder Kai conjures up a crystal ball and tosses it over to him. I’m curious if this has some connection to Baba’s crystal ball, but it’s probably just a coincidence.
So Goku now has a front-row seat to watch Buu eat all of his friends.
Back inside the Chamber, Gotenks begins to despair, but Piccolo tells him to quit whimpering. Then he suggests that they yell really loud, just like Buu did. If it opened a portal for him, then it ought to work for them, too.
Honestly, this just might be one of the most Dragon Ball Z things ever. Not just the yelling, although that’s a big part of it. What I mean, though, is that these guys just saw a monster do something impossible, and they’re like “Well, if he can do it, then so can we!” I mean, that’s nuts. Buu can liquefy his entire body. Can Piccolo do that? Buu regenerated from smoke. Can Gotenks do that? But this is no time for such negative thinking. There’s screaming to be done.
Speaking of desperate measures, Krillin decides to attack Buu in a last-ditch effort to save his family. He whispers to 18 to hide inside the temple while he keeps Buu busy, but they all know he can’t possibly win.
In spite of the bad odds, Krillin seems confident that he’ll get wished back to life with the Dragon Balls. How? As far as he knows, there’s no one left to beat Buu. Who’s going to wish everyone back?
So Krillin charges in, and his attack is brilliant, but it’s just not enough. Buu evades him with ease, and zaps him with his Candy Beam.
And that’s it for Krillin. For those of you keeping score, this is his third death in Dragon Ball. If I’m not mistaken, only Chiaotzu manages to tie this record, but that’s still a ways off. And Krillin dies a fourth time in Dragon Ball GT, if you’re willing to count that.
The others flee inside the temple, which seems kind of pointless to me. Buu killed 20% of the population while standing still, so it would be ridiculously easy for him to find them inside the temple. But where else can they go? 18, Yamcha, Dende, and Videl are the only ones who can fly, and none of them could move fast enough to escape. The rest of them are trapped on the Lookout. Krillin probably knew that much when he tried to buy them time. He knew he would fail and he knew his efforts would be in vain even if he succeeded, but he had to do something.
Even so, the cruelest part of this massacre is that 18 and Marron are literally the very next ones to die after Krillin.
Somehow, Popo and Dende have already made it up to one of the higher levels of the temple, but they’re only safe for as long as it takes Buu to eat the others.
Then Buu gets sick of deciding which one to zap next so he just fires his Candy Beam in all directions, sort of like the Human Extinction Attack in miniature. This is one of the most horrific scenes in the series, because the weakest good guys are completely cornered by the main villain, and he has absolutely no mercy. Unlike Cell or Frieza, there’s no slowing this guy down, no reasoning with him, no chance of bargaining or stalling for time.
And from the Supreme Kai Planet, Goku can only watch the slaughter unfold. Gohan isn’t ready yet, Gotenks and Piccolo are apparently lost, and he’s stuck in the afterlife.
For my money, this is the moment when Goku is beginning to regret his plans for safeguarding the Earth. He bet everything on Gotenks, and now the world population has been reduced to a single-digit number. Would it have turned out differently if he had been wished back to life after the Cell Games, instead of staying dead for seven years? Maybe not, but I think he sorely wishes he could go back, moreso than ever before.
Back inside the chamber, screaming hasn’t gotten Gotenks and Piccolo anywhere, so Gotenks decides to use his full power, and Piccolo hits him, because he’s sick of this little turd holding back for no good reason.
So Gotenks obliges, and...
Hey, what’s good everybody? GOTENKS CAN TURN SUPER SAIYAN 3.
He doesn’t like the way it looks, though. Where did he get that mirror?
Piccolo has questions, but Gotenks says he can’t stay in this form for very long, so he finally gets down to business. He yells really loud...
... and makes an opening they can use to return to Earth.
When Gotenks finally emerges, Goku and the Supreme Kai get their first look at him, and Goku is amazed to see him as a Super Saiyan 3. Remember, it took him his entire life and seven years of being dead to reach that level. Gotenks figured it out in under a week.
But the scene on the Lookout isn’t pleasant. Piccolo wants to know what happened to everyone else, and Buu explains that he turned them all into chocolate and ate everybody.
Even Bulma?
IT ATE EVERYBODY!
So this sends Gotenks into a rage. You know, I’d have an easier time believing that if he hadn’t already lost two other parents to Majin Buu before this. Seriously, Buu killed Chi-Chi less than a week ago from Gotenks’ perspective, and he acted like a total goofball this whole time anyway. We’re supposed to think killing Bulma is going to light a fire under his ass now? Pull the other one, it glows in the dark.
Even so, I dig this final still of Gotenks flying towards Buu, looking like he’s Batman or something. Yeah, he’s a house of fire now, but give it about two minutes, and he’ll go right back to “Butthole Surfer Enziguri” and all that other nonsense he’s been doing.

Ciconia Phase 1 Ramblings
Well, it sure was a wild ride, but I enjoyed it quite a bit!
The whole thing was very Heavy and Intense and Long and a lot of stuff happened. I’m not sure I really digested everything yet, but I have Thoughts.
GOD I spent so much time writing all of this... At first I just wanted to make a short Twitter thread about it, but it ended up a lot longer than initially... 😔
Those are just some messy ramblings and I don't think I said any more new or interesting stuff than what other people have already said, but I still felt the need to write it down, so...
Ciconia spoilers for Phase 1 and the tips:
So I thought overall it was pretty good and interesting! As someone who didn’t play the demos, I went in completely blind, and it was a nice read. (As such the flood of Okonogi memes some time ago were kinda confusing to me at first lol.)
It was radically different from Higurashi and Umineko, but that was something I expected (Umineko was radically different from Higurashi, after all.)
I’m not sure if it’s going to hit me as personally as Higurashi and Umineko did yet, or even if I’m going to like it as much — I enjoyed Phase 1, and the story is really intriguing, but it’s not quite on the level of its predecessors for now. Then again, it is only the first part of the story so it’s a bit unfair to compare them now, and I remember I was far from being into Higu and Umi by just their first installments too. So I guess I’ll just have to wait for the other phases and see!
On a technical level, this is definitely ones of Ryukishi’s most sophisticated visual novels — with the big animations and sound effects during the battle scenes, of course, but also with the numbers of different backgrounds and the visuals for the Kizuna thing. The sprites are also my favorites from all of Ryu’s games, they have the uniqueness of his artstyle all while being more polished and with really pretty coloring. And the character designs are SUPER GOOD — the best of 07th Expansion works to me (well, I was still a bit disappointed in Vier’s design, though. I mean. She’s just Takano with a lab coat. You could’ve at least changed her clothes or something, Ryu.) The music was the only thing that was... pretty average. It wasn’t bad, there was a lot of neat OST in it... but there wasn’t really anything memorable either (Alright, except for Apocalypsis Ciconia II. This one was dope as hell and it gave me chills.)
I was pleasantly surprised by how good and compelling the worldbuilding was too, as personally I find this peculiar part of Ryukishi’s writing has always been one of his weakest points. I don’t know much about sci-fi stuff admittedly, so I’m not sure how that would be perceived by fans of the genre, but Ciconia’s world is still quite fascinating — the different factions, the technology and selcom stuff, the way childbirth is managed or the history of World War III, all of that was good. Although to be honest, some stuff felt kinda contrived too (like, sure, let’s say the entire history of WWIII is entirely erased, like that we don’t have to deal with the political issues of our current real world lmao), and I don’t know all of the histories of the countries mentioned, so I can’t really tell if some things were insensitive (for example, how Africa was “unified” by a single king felt a bit off to me, but, er... I don’t know...)
The more absurd elements like the conspiracy theories, the chivalric orders or the freaking ILLUMINATI KINGS were pretty hilarious, honestly. I’m... not sure what to make of them. Obviously none of Ryu’s stories were ever going to be realistic (and well, the entire premise of Ciconia is about children soldiers who have the strength of an entire army in one gauntlet, which is ridiculous enough), but knowing him I wonder how much of this is going to be played straight and how much of this is meta stuff. Especially with all the religious/spiritual references (the blue bodies of Evil Miyao and of the gauntlet girls alluding to the Hindu god Shiva, Seshat being a Egyptian goddess, etc.)
I have more mixed feelings about the plot, and especially the pacing. Most of it was okay, but some scenes were really dragging and redundant. Which, isn’t really something new with Ryukishi’s writing, but here especially with the political stuff and the long blocks of exposition it was... kinda boring and hard to focus on it, and after a while it even felt quite egregious. Some of those parts weren’t needed, or at least didn’t need to be that long. Especially given that after the first hours, there were not a lot of more peaceful moments that would give the player time to breath.
Which is another one of my complaints: a lot of intense things happened, but the narrative rarely give you the time to actually digest those things, especially in the second part of the story. It often pretty much felt like “X event happen > Discussion of X event between the characters > Y event happen > Discussion of Y event between the characters,” and this without any breaks (with the exception of some exposition here and there in between, of course). The events, discussions and characters were interesting enough to more or less keep my attention, but it still felt like too much at times. Part of this may be volunteer, as it put a stressful and opressive feeling on the reader (God, the clock and quotes between each chapters stressed me out a lot lol), and after a while I really felt like I was kinda suffocating with all of this like the characters — but even so I think it would’ve been better to give us some pauses here and there. Which is something we could have had with, say, the tips. I thought it was a shame all of the sixteen tips could only be read once the main story was over, because the narrative could have really benefited from having them fit into the plot or in-between chapters, like in Higurashi.
Also, I know Ciconia wasn’t exactly marketed as an horror story unlike the other WTCs, but hoo boy, I think some of the sequences in it are honestly among the most gory and disturbing things Ryukishi wrote? I haven’t read Iwaihime or TRianThology, so I can’t really say for sure, but damn, those human factories really are big nightmare fuels...
Now, I think the most tricky parts and the ones who are gonna get the most criticisms are, likely, the whole political and military stuff. Ciconia is probably Ryukishi’s most political and provocative work so far, maybe on par with Rose Guns Days — not to say Higurashi and Umineko are not political, they definitely are, but here it truly is in-your-face. Which is not a bad thing, per se, but... let’s say it all depends on how Ryukishi handle and criticize all those stuff down the line in the other installments, when so far it’s been... meh?
Like, the whole military stuff, specifically, was... shaky, at best. The thing with fiction that portray militaries with soldiers as their main characters is that they walk a thin line between just portraying this thing and actively glamorizing it. The narrative was definitely critical of some of it (lol the whole massacre at the end was very obviously there for a reason), and I appreciate Ryukishi often makes a point in his stories to frame a problem with different persepectives... but the whole “healthy military balance” and “Walls of Peace” thing was still iffy, and I’m... unsure about how much of it is going to be criticized within the narrative in the end. Now, again, it is just the beginning of the story, and Ryukishi has always been good at presenting a thing at the start for later on tearing it down to pieces, so... I don’t know.
It’s way too early to decide what kind of themes and messages Ciconia is going to have, so here too I guess we’ll have to wait and see, but I’m just a bit wary given some things that were in RGD were... definitely questionable. Now I actually think Ciconia got to a better start than RGD, but... well. I’m also not really someone who know much about these stuff, so I’m not the best placed to talk about it, but it’s definitely something worth to be under scrutiny.
On the more positive side, there were times where some things felt really, really real, as well as pretty in tone with some of today’s social issues. Like all those news about the terrible things going on in the world and that a war can happen anytime, the military propaganda to recruit young people who “want to fly” in the army but who just end up killing each other, or the feeling that these kids have about how in the end they’re just powerless pawns who can’t do anything used by selfish old men... I saw someone said Ciconia was basically Fuck Boomers: The Game, and... yeah. Yeah, that’s basicaly it lmao. All of the adults being assholes is not new in WTC or even in Ryukishi’s works in general, but here it was definitely a big theme. God even the whole thing at the end about how the planet is dying and that everyone knows it but people just don’t care about it... lmao, if that wasn’t directly referring what we’re living right now with climate change, I don’t know what is.
I just really loved too the way the game was sort of sold as this “cool sci-fi battle royal,” but in the actual story all of those kids are desperately trying to not kill each other, until the very end where everything just goes to hell.
I said it before, but there really was a huge feeling of suffocating and being powerless the more and more you reach towards the end, and the way everything culminated in this huge massacre truly sent shivers in my back. I know at some points I could really feel for the kids who were like “Well, fuck it, let’s just let all those awful people kill each other and the world get destroyed.” The final scene with the Christmas party was really powerful and also so uncomfortable to read, it was really well done.
Otherwise, if there was one work I wasn’t expecting to scream “LGBT+ rights,” it was Ciconia, but here we are I guess lmao. Honestly, that entire conversation was super neat, not just in a “Oh it’s great they acknowledge gay and trans people exist in a positive way,” but also because it really adds a lot to the worldbuilding. I remember some people talking about it when a similar thing happened in the comics of The Legend of Korra, and honestly more stories should do that, not just in term of representation but because, well, it’s just good writing to put this much thought in your fictional world. The conversation in itself was a bit clumsy (GAYS DON’T FUCK), but it also felt very sincere and a pretty believable discussion a bunch of teenagers with very different backgrounds could have on the subject (and I really loved the narrative acknowledge how different cultures and religions feel about those topics, without it being judgemental.) I’m also thankful it was here at all because of the, uh, gay jokes made about Miyao and Jayden early on that were a bit tasteless to me.
(Now it would be even more great if we could have actual canon gay and trans characters too. Ryukishi... please...... I beg you........)
And of course, the characters were also really good!
It was so nice to have such a big diverse cast all constituted of likeable characters, and I was honestly impressed Ryukishi managed to handle it. That was something I was wary of when the game was first released, but in the end I think he did a good job so far. Of course, that’s only from my point of view, so I can’t say if other people found there were some things he did badly or that was offensive...
But personally, I honestly love all of the Gauntlets kids so much. They’re all so good and charming! And I kinda want to adopt them all lol.
I think my favorites for now are Miyao, Gunhild, Naima, Rethabile, Chloe, Koshka, Rukhshana, and Lingji... But like I said, they are all really good it’s hard to choose!
However... when it comes to their writing I felt Ciconia went in the continuity of Rose Guns Days and concentrated more on the plot than the characters, and that’s something that... honestly bother me a bit. I liked RGD, but Ryukishi’s writing is still at its strongest when it comes to very human, character-driven narratives, like Umineko and Higurashi. Like I said, I love all of these kids a lot, and some of them have pretty solid characterization and screentime... but in the end a part of me still feel like we didn’t really... get to know them much, if that makes sense? Even with the main ones, like Miyao, Jayden or Gunhild — most of their scenes were principally focused on the Plot Stuff, and not much about them as people.
I know there are a lot of folks who criticize the slice-of-life parts of Higurashi and Umineko, where there are lots of scenes of just the characters spending time with each other or goofing around and that don’t do much to advance the plot — and in a way I understand that, because yeah, some of these scenes can be pretty long to get through and drag the pacing. But personally, I always thought those sequences are very important. Even if some of them are admittedly unnecessary or are a bit too long, they’re really needed to humanize the characters and make you invest in them — which was something that was a bit lacking in Ciconia. Basically I guess I’m saying the VN needed more slice-of-life stuff, and that rejoin with what I said earlier — that including some of the tips in the plot here and there instead of putting all of them at the end would have really helped with that.
Now, that said, again I’m aware this is just the first part of the story. I understand Ryukishi needed to have all of those exposition blocks and truly pose the basics of his story first and foremost. So I’m really hoping that after that he’ll be able to focus more on its characters — especially on those who got almost no screentime, like the Yeladot Shavit and Cairo Squad girls. Having characters and human grounded moments is especially important in a story where war is a big focus like Ciconia.
Now, on the characters themselves...
Miyao was a really charming protagonist, and I love him a lot! He was so endearing to me during the whole story. He was instantly more likeable as a male protagonist than Keiichi and Battler, where it took me some time for them to grow on me — principally because, well, Miyao don’t have the shtick of sexually harrassing the female characters around him, which was profoundly annoying in the other WTCs. I loved his serious but caring and friendly personality, his friendship with Jayden and Gunhild and with all the other kids, and his anger against the adults trying to use him and the others. His relationship with his father too was interesting. His interactions with Evil Miyao were also pretty intriguing, even if I’m not sure yet what to think of him being a “murder program” or about what even is Evil Miyao.
Now, the only thing I am on the fence about him is... his whole DID thing and Meow. Like, on one hand, I think it is neat to have a likeable protagonist with a named mental illness, and the narrative felt sincere on not wanting to present this as a bad thing and just a part of who Miyao is... but on the other hand, there were all the jokes made as a result of this, which made the whole thing pretty awkward to me. Furthermore, there’s the problem that this “CPP” thing is not really DID, as if I recall it doesn’t actually seem to come from any trauma-related reason, and is almost a made-up condition? It kinda gave me Kara no Kyoukai flashbacks, in which Shiki, the protagonist, also has an alter, but it is not as a result of trauma or anything — it has a fantasy explanation. And, I mean... An author taking an actual, real condition that a lot of people have to bend it at their will to fit a story isn’t super cool, especially if you’re going to make some jokes at its expense... The other kids calling out Jayden on how he didn’t act properly with Miyao about this was nice though. (Also, now that I think about it, did Miyao just... randomly told all of the other gauntlet knights about it? Wasn’t it said that “CPPs” were something most people didn’t like to talk about? It’s a bit odd.) Plus there’s also the fact Miyao is possibly a “program” and it adds another layer of not-so-great stuff... So I’m just really wary of how Ryukishi is gonna handle this going forward...
Those problems aside, Meow herself was... fine. She’s cute, but she doesn’t really have much going on for her. She and Jayden are dorks together and their scenes definitely made me smile, but their relationship still felt kinda shallow so I don’t have much feelings about them as a couple (like, it’s just that to me Miyao and Jayden have a lot more chemistry and have been friends for quite some time, so it’s just odd that he instantly decides to date Miyao’s sister whom he just met. And, also, he was definitely flirting with Miyao before meeting Meow, too.). It was also pretty jarring the way she just... almost disappears once the war stuff began, so in the end I had this disagreeable impression that she really was just here to be Jayden’s girlfriend, and not as a character on her own or to develop Miyao more...
Jayden was pretty neat too! He’s a character that could be “yikes” pretty easily, but in the end he really did come across as a awkward but kind teenage boy who may be clumsy at times but is still trying his best. In fact, I really wish Ryukishi had wrote Keiichi and Battler more like Jayden. It was nice in general that none of the guys in Ciconia acted inappropriately towards the girls (with the exception of Toujirou, I guess. The way he acted towards Valentina especially made me go “ehh dude please no.” Like I know the LATO girls are said to be older than the other kids so they’re probably 18 or something, but still, it was a bit ugh... But even then it wasn’t something that was too overt, so it didn’t bother me too much), because some of Keiichi and Battler’s antics towards the female characters was something that annoyed me greatly. Don’t get me wrong, I did end up liking Keiichi and Battler despite this, they’re both good kids at heart — but it’s possible to write horny teenage boys without them ~comically~ sexually harassing the girls around them, if you feel me? Aside from that, I like that the story made a point to show that Jayden is actually a pretty lonely and kinda socially awkward kid just like Miyao, and that’s why their friendship work so well. On the other hand, though, his character mostly only turned around Miyao and Meow, and so we didn’t get much of him as a person? Which is a bit disappointing as he is meant to be one of the main kids, so I’ll hope he’ll get more interesting later on.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE GUNHILD, she really intrigue me! I wasn’t expecting to love her so much — for the most part I thought she was okay but nothing more... though now that I finished the story, she’s probably my favorite character for now? Her scene in the restaurant with her sibling, and especially the tips focused on her, really got to me. I loved her cool personality and her backstory was really interesting, as well as her relationship with Miyao and Jayden. She seems to honestly like and care for both of them, but at the same time resent them, and the way she obviously have a lot of pent-up anger towards the world and some self-hatred make her a truly compelling character. I’m pretty intrigued by Maya and her relationship with her too. She’s honestly one of the characters towards who I look forward the most, and I really hope Ryukishi will deliver on her.
Chloe has definitely a lot of Rena Vibes, so of course I was going to love her lol. Although honestly for now I find her mostly... confusing. She’s obviously really fucked up (CHLOEVIL), and she made me pretty nervous during the entire story because there was this “Okay so when is she going to snap?” kind of tension with her. And her last scene with Lilja gave me chills... At the same time, her kindness and caring nature as well as her friendship with Koshka, Lilja and the others felt genuine, so it was an interesting contrast. Other than that I wasn’t a fan of the running gag of Okonogi hitting her whenever she mess up (or do not mess up, for that matter)... Like obviously Okonogi is meant to be a Bastard, but the thing being presented as comical made me go :/ I really wish it’s going to stop.
Koshka was cute and also Extremely Relatable in a lot of ways (I, too, would rather spend my time playing silly games on my phone rather than socialize lmao). I love her a lot, and like Gunhild she really fascinate me. I like the fact that she’s meant to be an asocial, cold person but that at the same time it’s pretty easy to see glimpses of the affection she has for Lilja, Chloe or Miyao, and how she’s actually a deeply traumatized and angry teen. I’m pretty intrigued by what kind of “crime” she must have committed and how she ended up being an “equipment”... Not sure what to think about her super brain or the thing about her being some sort of “chosen one” lol. It sounds really shady.
For Lilja, I have to say I wasn’t exactly fond of her at first, but then the small moments we got with her where she obviously care a lot about Koshka and Chloe still got to me. That scene in the tips where she fiercely defends Chloe made me go “awww.” She really give me the impression of being the sort of person to hide her vulnerability behind a tough façade and her odd tics, and in that way she’s pretty similar to Koshka, which is how their friendship feel really special. The revealation at the end that she’s probably faking a lot of her personality and of her friendship with Koshka because it’s an assigment made her and her relationship with Koshka a lot more interesting to me, and I hope it’s going to result in a lot of compelling character stuffs.
Lingji was great! She’s pretty cool. I liked her optimism and her will to do the right thing, and how that actually cover the fact she’s a pretty fragile and sheltered person. Her scene where she break down after her grandfather’s death is really illustrative of this especially, and where I really felt for her too. I think she’s the most interesting character in term of possible development. I quite enjoyed her friendship with Miyao too, but here again I wish these two had gotten more moments together. Like, how much more impactful the scene where Miyao kill her would have been if we had actually seen these two have some intimate moments before? But, oh well...
Aysha was really cool too, and I especially loved the way her sharp and down-to-earth personality contrast to Lingji’s idealism. The moment where she calls out both of her teammates was super good. Momotake was okay, and I love his intense admiration for Lingji (I’m a sucker for male characters really looking up to cool female characters lol)... but otherwise I felt he was honestly the most stereotypical character of the bunch — especially compared to Lingji and Aysha.
NAIMA IS THE BEST, SHE’S MY BABY I LOVE HER SO MUCH. She was my favorite before I even start the game because of her design alone (SHE’S THE CUTEST CHARACTER RYU EVER DESIGNED OKAY), and I wasn’t disappointed from seeing her actual personality. She’s not especially complex or anything for now, but she has a lot of potential. I loved her relationship with Naomi and Stan too — it kinda felt like two older siblings looking after their annoying youngest one reluctantly, but who still have a lot of affection for them. Also she’s such a little badass, I literally cheered out loud during that rescue scene or during the last battle scene where she screams she wants to protect all of her people. I want more of her in Phase 2 pleaaaase!
Naomi was really overshadowed by Naima and Stan, so as a result I don’t have much to say about her. I think she’s cool, and her backstory about how she apparently lost a lot of her memories and emotions is interesting, but again I can’t say much given we barely see her at all. Stanisław was a good boy, but despite the fact we see him a lot during the story, I... don’t really have a lot of thoughts on him? I liked his implied friendship with Gunhild as them being death metal buddies, but we didn’t actually saw them interacting at all, which was a shame.
Rethabile was the coolest character of the cast, I love her dearly! I like how she can be so adorable and such a dork but at the same time she’s probably the one who has her shit together the most out of all the kids. I feel she really has a good grip on politics and how the adults just want to use them compared to the others — which, well, isn’t all that surprising given she’s literally a princess. The scene with her brother’s death was pretty harsh, and I’m sad they didn’t really... put much attention to her reaction to such a traumatic event. I know the plot hadn’t time for that, really, but I feel even Lingji got more focus when her grandfather died, so I wish we had more of that with Rethabile too.
Ishak and Abdou... well, they didn’t really get much time for them either. They seem like nice dudes, and I really love their relationship with Rethabile, how they tease her quite a bit but there’s still obviously a lot of complicity and respect among them. So I hope we’ll get to know them more, especially on an individual level — as for now they were only present as a duo.
The LATO girls were... interesting too. I especially love Valentina, because she really give me Bad Bitch vibes and I love bitchy female characters lol. It’s pretty clear she has some Secrets and I’m really curious about her goals. As for Maricarmen, I thought she was mostly going to be comic relief like the Yeladot Shavit, but towards the end she actually showed some interesting depth so she did grew on me quite a bit.
And then there was just the teams no-screentime lol. Alright, I guess Suparṇa did get some time, and Rukhi is ones of my faves, but they still were really sidelined. I liked Sujatha, she’s such an uptight idiot, and her scene towards the end where she says she was aware that Miyao’s plan was doomed but still played along for Lingji made me kinda emotional. Rukhshana is the cutest and the greatest — I really liked her personality, how she can be extremely shy but then also completely goof around when she actually trust the people around her. And that moment at the end where she just say to her superiors to fuck off was glorious and one of my favorite scenes. Her relationship with Sujatha and Andry is adorable too. Andry himself was also... not present at all, but I really love the small glimpses of him we have seen, he’s pretty cool. I like how he sincerely seems to care a lot about his teammates despite his aloof character (him protecting Rukhi when their superiors try to hit her at the end was sweet.)
Still, Suparṇa wasn’t sidelined as much as Yeladot Shavit and Cairo Squad, though. I mean, I do like those girls — I adore Gannet because she’s cute as hell, Noor seems cool and Mariana intrigue me, but I can’t actually say much about them. Leah, Fatma and Stephania were also mostly comic relief except for one or two scenes towards the end. So I really hope Phase 2 will remedy to this, ‘cause I want more of these six, definitely!
I’m not sure I have a lot of thoughts about the adults characters quite yet — GERMAN TAKANO cracked me up, but she’s just as great as her Higurashi counterpart for now, and I always trust Ryukishi to write good Terrible Women. Especially Terrible Mothers, which is one of my personal weaknesses. Though I guess it’s not actually been confirmed she’s Miyao’s mom? It’s heavily implied, but we all know Ryukishi love to troll his audience so I wouldn’t put it past him that it is in fact just a red herring, but well, we’ll see I guess.
Toujirou is obviously a bastard, but he’s an interesting one, and I have no fucking idea what is going on in his head. Like it’s interesting that on the one hand he seems to genuinely care about his son, but on the other hand he has no problem manipulating and screwing him over (and the implication of Miyao being maybe just a program is... ooof.) Okonogi was... a bit less worse than in the other WTCs, I guess? He obviously care about the kids in his own way, and him defending them at the end was nice... but I still can’t really feel anything but contempt towards him. He’s still a pretty bad instructor, and like I say, I’m really not a big fan of the way he treats Chloe at all, even if it’s meant to be “comical.”
The Three Kings mostly made me laugh to be honest, and they’re more plot devices than actual characters for now so I really don’t care about them (a part of me even wonder if they “exist” at all, because, you know, meta stuff). I absolutely LOVED Jestress on the other hand! I have no idea what’s the deal with her, whether she’s Lambda or whatever, but she’s really intriguing and her design is top notch and I want more of her. Seshat was so fucking cool and I don’t have much thoughts about her yet other than I wanna marry her.
And that’s pretty much it!
I’m not really good at predictions or at throwing theories around (sorry, Ryukishi), so I’m not sure what to expect for the rest of the story. I guess my only thoughts are that the moles are probably Gunhild and/or Chloe, but then they seem like obvious candidates, so I don’t know. I kinda suspect Valentina too, because, er, I do not trust her at all and she just have that traitor vibe.
I really hope too that we’ll have time loops here again instead of a linear story because... well... I don’t wanna these kids to die okay... I also know that Ryukishi said Ciconia is only going to have four parts, and that’d make sense given how long Phase 1 was... but a part of me still kinda hope we’ll have a bit more... I guess it’s just that only four phases seems really little compared to the density of the story, and I’m really hoping he’ll have the time to develop well all of his narrative points and characters...
In any case, I think my thoughts on Ciconia for now pretty much get down to: it’s interesting and it has the potential to be a really great story, even if it’s far from being flawless and that I’m still very wary about how Ryukishi is going to handle some elements in the future.
But I’d definitely recommand it to people who love 07th Expansion stuff and sci-fi stories, and am very much looking forward to Phase 2!

Ben - New Home
Here’s the first of a new series of short stories of how each crew member came to the ship.
As requested here’s Ben’s story.
Also i don’t feel like doing a new chapter so if anyone wants another story, please let me know of who you would like next.
----------------------------------------
Ben’s story:
The Dreadnought Defiance came into rest at the docking bay, her impressive length of 1500 metres struggling to fit onto the landing pad of the military Cloud City floating above the Pacific Ocean. The docking clamps locked into place and the ship settled as the ground crew started the refuelling process and munitions checks, ‘’Groundcrew-man Lowe’’ The Bay manager shouted over the rumble and noise of the proceedings, ‘’Present Sir’’ Benjamin Lowe came running up, noting the panicked looked on the officer’s face. ‘’Get this dreadnought reloaded as soon as possible, don’t worry about refuelling. There’s a large fleet presence in the outer solar system requesting through-passage but the admiralty is getting nervous, we need to be ready.’’
Ben ran off startled, shouting as he went. He collected as many grounds crew and working android as he could find that weren’t busy or had menial tasks to do, and repurposing as many trucks as they could find they started loading and readying the munitions. The large bulky loading suit an androids programming had filled came towards him, Ben looked up at the impressive 9 foot figure in front of him ‘’I’ll need a name for the software in that suit buddy’’, The android looked at him levelly thinking about his answer before replying in the monotone voice almost all androids used, ‘’Call me Two’s, that is what you humans seem to have named me before from my designated ID, although why you require to name us makes no sense.’’ ‘’Two’s, listen I get the same lecture every time, please notify your network I like to use names when I work with your kind’’ As if trying to say it under its breathe but so that it was still heard the android lowered its units volume, ‘’Technophobe’’ ‘’What was that’’ ‘’I believe YOUR people, you know, you little squishy mortal bags of meat, call it a mutter.’’ ‘’Shut your voice unit down and load the ship, use the loading unit for the Magnetic pulse rounds and then also the cluster rockets.’’ Ben walked around to the truck to help load the anti-fighter rounds, looking back at the loading unit he suppressed a shiver. These new software designations were too human for his liking, who taught a machine sarcasm.
The first two truck loads of ammunition had been loaded on when the siren blared, ‘’Attention all personnel, as of five minutes ago the research stations around Jupiter have gone dark. We are now at war with the Angamar. I repeat. We are now at war with the Angamar… May all of our Gods, new and old, save our souls.’’
The Cloud City trembled as every warship currently in for service and repair cycled their engines, grounds crew were sent running as the clamps came loose. The Dreadnought along with thirty-eight other military ships shot into the sky.
The grounds crew looked to each other in shock, earth was under attack, and they could nothing, half of their ships weren’t even fully restocked with ammunition.
‘’All Groundcrew flight able report to Bay officers, all transport ships capable of near space travel park on the loading bays. All remaining Groundcrew load the ships with as much munitions as they can take and strap them in’’ The call came in over the loudspeakers and Ben found himself running to his Officer. ‘’Alright men, Earth is under attack, and we need to restock our boys in space while they fight. This is not sanctioned, you will not be rewarded, this will most likely end in your death. If you are willing, we need to fly these transports to the warships, fully stocked, and hot drop them into their cargo holds to keep them going. There boys will reload we just need to get them the munitions.’’
This was how Ben found himself running towards an unarmed transport trying to put on a spacesuit and arguing with an android. ‘’Let me help, you know I can. This is my planet too and I am going to help defend it one way or another.’’ ‘’Two’s, this unit still holds two’s yeah? What are you going to do there’s no gun mounts or anything offensive.’’ ‘’It doesn’t matter, you fly I don’t have time to download that software upgrade, but I can manage the minor systems so you don’t need to worry about anything other than keeping us alive.’’ ‘’Fine interface, but hurry and sacrifice anything not important for shield strength and engine power, also I’m wearing a suit so if you need to cut power to oxygen do it.’’ Ben shouted above the commotion as he strapped himself in and signalled to the Groundcrew.
They docked for the fourth time that day, Ben looked out the window and gave the signal for them to restock and refuel him. He patted the console pad and looked around him too tired to be shocked at the state of the small transport ship he was in. The bay doors would have to be welded on again to stay shut, the ship had multiple hull breaches in making his space suit vital and his left viewing window was currently being replaced by sheet metal due to a piece of what used to be the ISS hitting them head on.
‘’I deserve a retirement after handling this piece of trash’’ Twos vice came through last working speaker. ‘’You and me both buddy’’ The ship rose into the atmosphere, and there where the black void of space should have been was the turmoil of the greatest war in human history. The noise of a thousand commands and pleas for helps were heard of the wide band frequency of the radio. To their right the Dreadnought Defiance lit up in a dazzling display of green and blue and proceeded to be wracked with explosions as it was hit by a Cleaver beam from a capital ship. ‘’This is the Captain of the Dreadnought Defiance, too heavily damaged to sustain combat, the crew that are alive are in escape pods, I am signing off this channel for good. To all those who can hear me, Godspeed. I will live up to my ships name to the last.’’ The ships Jump engines started to cycle, and in a streak of light the ship arced towards an enemy destroyer on an intercept course to destroy a disabled Human Capital ship. The silent explosion lit up the battlefield and made Ben shield his eyes, all that was left where the light had been was rubble.
Ben cursed as he drove the ship through a debris field watching the events unfold, he couldn’t even stop to help the escape pods, he had to deliver his munitions to the Infiltrator class ship Leonidas’s Shield.
They skidded to a halt inside the cargo hold as the ship uncloaked, the ship went dark as Two’s found himself a mobile unit nearby. Ben and the android were met by the crew as they unloaded the munitions straight onto trolleys. Two’s stood up. Barrelling towards where Ben was leaning against a wall in his mobile unit, he grabbed Ben and shielded him. The cargo bay lit up. Everything went silent. Two’s had to punch a hole into the wall to hold on. The cargo bay along with everyone and everything was vented into space.
‘’Ben wake up, come on wake up.’’ Twos made his way through the airlock and towards the medic bay as the shipped struggled to get cloaked under fire, a second android touched his conscious from nearby. It shared the damage report after asking for an explanation of why Twos was aboard, all engines were down, but the bridge wouldn’t give up. ‘’You technophobic idiot, if you don’t wake up so I can tell you how I saved your life now I’m going to be angry’’ Two’s spoke to himself as made his way to the medics bay.
It was dark when Ben woke up, and cold. His head throbbing and his throat dry. An empty IV bag tugged at his arm as he moved around the bed from where it was lying on the ground. ‘’Hello. Hello?’’ He got out of bed careful to step around the debris in the room, only visible by the emergency red lighting. The ceiling had collapsed in most of the med bay around him. He made his way out, towards the bridge, frightened by the silence he heard on the ship. What had happened to the battle, where were they?
Stepping wearily onto the bridge he looked around, the room was quite and dead, not even a console light was on. Outside the cracked viewing window, space around the earth was empty. The Earth was black. The Earth was split in half.
He fell to the floor in shock. Nearby a unit detected his presence and powered up, it moved towards him. He looked up sobbing with joy. ‘’Two’s, what happened, to the earth, to the ship, to everything?’’ The unit looked at him and walked around the broken consoles to sit next to him. ‘’My name is Omni, the one you called Two’s unit was destroyed, he is gone I am sorry. The global Network on Earth is gone. Every software designation not in a mobile unit is now dead, and the rest of us are left mortal. Earth is quite.’’ It stated this in its metallic monotone voice, as if trying to comprehend it itself. ‘’What now, what do we do? I’m just part of the Groundcrew’’ ‘’Now we survive, we fix the ship, we find the fleet, and then we decide. To do that, we need to first fix the power.’’ ‘’Alright, alright I can help, I can fix things… and call me Ben, please.’’
