What Is This Feeling: Chapter 7
Fem!9th Doctor x Male!Rose Tyler
WITF Masterlist
Through time and space once more, our extraordinary duo was off to have another adventure. The TARDIS sped through the time vortex.
"Where are we going?" Ross asked.
"The planet Panera. They have fantastic bread," the Doctor grinned at her companion.
The TARDIS suddenly switched course and jolted in the opposite direction. The Doctor examined the screen and tried to figure out what was going on. The ship finally materialized. The Doctor and Ross stepped out. It was a dimly lit area with carpeting and display cases. It looked like a museum.
"So, what is it? What's wrong," Ross instantly began to ask.
"Don't know. Some kind of signal drawing the TARDIS off course," the Doctor spoke as she looked around.
"Where are we?"
"Earth. Utah, North America. About half a mile underground," the Time Lord deduced.
"And when are we?"
"2012," she informed her friend as she began to inspect a case.
"God, that's so close. So I should be 26."
The Doctor found the light switch and flipped it on. The room and cases suddenly lit up.
"Blimey. It's a great big museum."
"An alien museum," she looked at the exhibits as she walked forward. "Someone's got a hobby." She shook her head.
"They must have spent a fortune on this. Chunks of meteorites, moon dust. That's the milometer from Roswell spaceship." She furrowed her eyebrows, confused.
"That's a bit of Slitheen!" Ross pointed to a Slitheen arm in one of the glass cases. "That's a Slitheen's arm. It's been stuffed."
The Doctor stopped in front of one of the cases. "Oh, look at you."
Ross walked behind the Doctor and looked over her shoulder. "What is it?"
'Delete…' she heard an echo in her mind.
"An old friend of mine. Well, enemy. Stuff of nightmares reduced to an exhibit. I'm getting old." She internally groaned.
"Is that where the signal's coming from," Ross asked.
"No, it's stone dead. The signal's alive, calling out for help."
The Doctor reached out her fingers, and lightly brushed the glass. Alarms suddenly blared from all around. The pair slightly jumped at the sudden noise. The Time Lord mentally kicked herself. She should have been more careful. Before they could make it to the TARDIS they were cut off and surrounded by guards. The guards were armed and aiming at them.
"If someone's collecting aliens, that makes you exhibit A," Ross nervously joked.
The two of them were escorted by the armed guards up many levels, and throughout the complex. The journey was mostly silent. Ross stayed close by her side, however. Finally they were led into their destination. An office full of over confident Americans.
The man sitting at the desk seemed to be the one behind the complex. He was being showed their recent purchase. It was a musical instrument. They did not know it, and looked completely daft whilst holding it.
"You really wouldn't hold it like that," she almost laughed at how stupid he looked.
"Shut it," she was yelled at.
"Really though, it's wrong," she insisted.
"Is it dangerous?" A girl around Ross's age asked.
"No, it just looks silly," the Doctor smirked.
She reached for the item. Firing bolts clicked all around her. She stopped. The man behind the desk curiously looked at her, and handed over the curved palm sized object.
"You just need to be-"she stroked the instrument softly, and out rang a beautiful sound. "Delicate." To prove her point, she played several different notes.
"It's a musical instrument," the man said, fascinated.
"And it's a long way from home," the Doctor commented.
"Here, let me," the man took the instrument from her hands.
She raised her eyebrows. That was rude. The man proceeded to touch it harder, causing no noise to come out.
"I did say delicate. It reacts to the smallest fingerprint. It needs precision," she once again informed him.
Once he finally got the hang of it and produced music, she smiled.
"Very good. Quite the expert," she complimented.
"As are you," he said before tossing the object on the floor.
The Doctor's jaw dropped. That was almost two hundred years old! It was used to entertain kings and queens, and he just threw it away?! Who is this man?!
"Who are you, exactly?"
"I'm the Doctor. And you are?"
"Like you don't know. We're hidden away with the most valuable collection of extra-terrestrial artifacts in the world, and you just stumbled in by mistake?"
The Doctor laughed. "Pretty much sums me up, yeah."
The man slowly walked around his desk, and got closer to the Doctor.
"The question is, how did you get in? Fifty three floors down, with your cat burglar accomplice. You're quite an artifact yourself, being rather pretty."
"The cat burglar accomplice is going to smack you if you don't give the 'artifact' personal space," Ross shot off angrily. It shocked the Doctor a bit. It was the first time he was ever verbally protective of her.
"Oh, he's English too! Hey, little lady Fauntleroy. Got you a boyfriend."
"This is Mister Henry Van Statten," the girl introduced. She was the only English person, besides Ross, at the complex.
"Who is he at home?" Ross snidely remarked.
"Mister Van Statten owns the internet," she added.
"Don't be stupid. No one owns the internet," he jabbed again.
"And let's just keep letting the world think that, right kids," Van Statten remarked, smug.
"So you're just an expert in everything except the things in your museum. Anything you don't understand, you lock it up."
"And you claim greater knowledge?" Van Statten challenged.
"I don't need to make claims. I know how good I am," she shot back.
"And yet, I captured you. Right next to the cage. What were you doing down there?" He asked.
The Doctor placed her hands on her hips. "You tell me," she sassed.
"The cage contains my one living specimen."
"And what's that?"
"Like you don't know," Van Statten scoffed.
"Show me."
"You want to see it?" Van Statten once again challenged the Doctor.
"Blimey, do I need to separate you two?" Ross remarked, annoyed.
"Goddard, inform the cage we're heading down. You, English. Look after the boy. Go and canoodle or spoon or whatever it is you British do. And you, Doctor with no name, come and see my pet."
Van Statten stood in the elevator with a smirk on his face. The Doctor gave Ross a reassuring look before stepping on the lift next to the American. The ride down was quick and silent. Once they stepped out of the lift, the Doctor was led over toward a large metal door. Van Statten spoke as he unlocked and opened the large door.
"We've tried everything. The creature has shielded itself but there's a definite sign of life inside."
"Inside? Inside what?" The Doctor asked, curiously.
A man in an orange hazard suit walked over to Van Statten.
"Welcome back, Sir. I've had to take the power down. The Metaltron is resting."
"Metaltron?"
'What kind of dumb name is that?' She thought.
"I thought of it myself," Van Statten stated proudly.
'Of course.'
"Although I'd much to prefer to find out its real name."
"Here, you'd better put these on," the man in the hazard offered her rubber gloves. "The last guy that touched it burst into flames."
"I won't touch it then," she said like it was most obvious.
"Go on, Doctor. Impress me," Van Statten grinned at her.
The Doctor narrowed her eyes at him before strutting past, into the cage. It was very dark as she looked around. She jumped slightly as the door slammed shut behind her.
The Time Lord continued to investigate. She found a small table with drills, and other torture tools. Her heart instantly went out to the creature. She turned to where she assumed the 'Metaltron' was. She couldn't make it out. The room was too dark.
"Look, I'm sorry about this. Mister Van Statten might think he's clever, but never mind him. I've come to help. I'm the Doctor."
A few seconds of silence passed before a blue light was seen. When the Metaltron spoke, two white lights flashed with its words.
"Doc-tor?"
The Doctor's eyes widened, and her hearts stopped. No! This can't happen. It's-
"Impossible," she managed to breathe out.
"The Doc-tor?" The Metaltron spoke with more confidence this time.
The lights came up to reveal a Dalek. The Doctor's worst enemy. And it was chained to the floor. This didn't stop the Doctor from crying out in fear.
"Ex-ter-min-ate! Ex-ter-min-ate!"
The Time Lord flung herself onto the door and started to pound her fists.
"Let me out," she practically screamed.
"Ex-ter-min-ate!"
The door wouldn't open. The Doctor took a step back and just stared at the monstrosity. Her entire body was quivering. Her hearts were pounding hard into her chest.
"You are an en-e-my of the Da-leks! You must be des-troyed!"
The Doctor closed her eyes and awaited death. This was it. This was how she would finally die after nine hundred years. Maybe it was her time. Suddenly she accepted her fate. She never realized until now that she was ready to go.
After a few seconds without pain, she opened her eyes. She was alive! Yet a small part inside of her was disappointed. That part was overshadowed by the sickening joy she suddenly felt over her enemy.
"It's not working." She started to laugh like she's gone mad. "Fantastic! Oh, Fantastic! Powerless! Look at you. The great space dustbin. How does it feel?"
The Dalek tried to roll backwards, but was stopped by the chains.
"Keep back!" It demanded.
"What for?" She launched herself forward and became face to eyestock with the Dalek. "What're you going to do to me?" She challenged.
The Doctor, bottled with rage, began to circle the creature. Like a lion hunting its prey. She wanted to intimidate it.
"If you can't kill, then what are you good for, Dalek? What's the point of you? You're nothing!"
The Gallifreyan finally stopped back in front of the Dalek.
"What the hell are you here for?"
"I am a-wait-ing or-ders!" It responded to her.
"What does that mean?"
"I am a sold-ier. I was bred to rec-ieve or-ders."
"Well you're never going to get any. Your race is dead!" She yelled at it. "You all burnt, all of you. Ten million ships on fire. The entire race wiped out in one second."
"You lie!"
"I watched it happen. I made it happen," she spoke maliciously.
"You des-troyed us?" It asked, almost sounding heartbroken.
The alien stopped and calmed down a bit. She turned away from the Dalek in guilt. Their race wasn't the only one she destroyed that day.
"I had no choice," she responded quietly.
"And what of the Ti-me Lo-rds?"
"Dead." She managed to choke out. "They burned with you. The end of the last great Time War. Everyone lost."
"And the coward survived."
This fueled her rage once more. However, she managed to keep it under control.
"Oh, and I caught your little signal. Help me. Poor little thing. But there's no one else coming 'cause there's no one else left."
"I am a-lone in the un-i-verse," it almost sounded defeated.
"Yep."
"So are you. We are the same."
The Doctor spun around, no longer able to hold her anger.
"We're not the same! I'm not-"she paused as a cruel thought crossed her mind. "No, wait. Maybe we are. You're right. Yeah, okay. You've got a point. 'Cause I know what to do. I know what should happen. I know what you deserve." She grinned sickeningly.
"Exterminate."
With that the Doctor pulled a lever on a nearby console. The Dalek lit up with electricity. It began to scream, and she just watched.
"Have pity!" It cried out.
"Why should I? You never did." She pulled another lever, and increased the electricity.
"Help me!"
Suddenly the door opened and guards flooded in. She launched herself towards the last lever. No! This was her only chance to kill it! She was suddenly yanked away from the panel and was practically carried out of the cage.
"No! You've got to destroy it!" She yelled.
The Doctor ripped herself away from the guards once outside the cage. She frowned deeply as she waited for Van Statten to leave the cage. She was very cross with the American man. Once he left the cage they were guided towards the lift.
"The metal's just an armor. The real Dalek creature's inside," she explained to Van Statten.
"What's it look like?" he asked.
"A nightmare. It's a mutation. The Dalek race was genetically engineered. Every single emotion was removed except hate," she tried to explain to them. These stupid little apes weren't getting the big picture!
"Genetically engineered," he spoke as if it were Christmas. "By whom?"
"By a genius, Van Statten," she was starting to get stressed out. "By a man who was king of his own little world. You'd like him."
Van Statten's assistant Goddard decided to butt herself in.
"It's been on Earth for over fifty years. Sold at private auction, moving from one collection to another. Why would it be a threat now?" she asked.
"Because I'm here." How many times does she have to explain it? "How did it get to Earth? Does anyone know?"
"The records say it came from the sky like a meteorite. It fell on Earth on the Ascension Islands. Burnt in its crater for three days before anyone could get near it and all that time it was screaming. It must have gone insane," Goddard spoke in a superior tone.
The Doctor stood for a moment and thought. "It must of fallen through time. The only survivor."
"You talked about war," the human female asked.
"The Time War. The final battle between my people and the Dalek race."
"But you survived, too," Van Statten said with a devilish smile on his face.
"Not by choice," The Doctor added grimly.
"This means the Dalek isn't the only alien on Earth. Doctor, there's you. The only one of your kind in existence."
Just as the doors opened, the Doctor was once again grabbed. She struggled against their grip as they led her into her own cage.
"Any type of exposed metal is going to affect the laser scanner," Van Statten smiled.
The Doctor ended up having to shed her boots, jacket, and top. She was able to keep her bra on because Van Statten claimed he was a 'gentleman'. So now that the Doctor was stripped, she got chained spread eagle in front of the scanner.
"Now, smile!" Van Statten said, cheerfully.
The Doctor bit her lip as a painful shock ran through her body from the laser.
"Two hearts! Binary Vascular System. Oh, I am so going to patent this," Van Statten said.
The Doctor glared at the man. "So that's your secret. You don't just collect this stuff, you scavenge it."
She shook her head in anger as Van Statten went on to say how he cured the common cold and was going to sell cures for every disease. The Doctor was getting frustrated.
"Do you know what a Dalek is, Van Statten? A Dalek is honest. That creature in your dungeon is better than you."
"In that case, I'll be true to myself and continue," Van Statten frowned.
"Listen to me! That thing downstairs is going to kill every last one of us!" She tried to get through to him.
"Nothing can escape the cage."
Van Statten turned the laser up a Koch and blasted the Doctor. She bit her lip harder as she tried to endure the pain. Once the laser stopped, she attempted to catch her breath and speak.
"But it's woken up! It knows I'm here. It's going to get out. Van Statten, I swear, no one in this base is safe. No one on this planet!"
He turned the laser to its highest setting. It once again blasted the Doctor. This time around wasn't for informational purposes. He just wanted to hear her scream. And he did.

What Is This Feeling: Chapter 11
Fem!9th Doctor x Male!Rose Tyler
WITF Masterlist
"Doctor." A far off voice spoke her name. A very familiar voice that instantly sent shivers through her body.
"Doctor!" This time the voice was closer. She felt her body be shaken.
The Doctor groan and rolled over onto her stomach. Her head was pounding. What had happened? Everything was a blurry and painful. Where was she?
"Did you just come back to get changed and take a nap? I didn't actually think you slept to be honest," Ross prattled on as he set a beach bag they had packed earlier on the ground. "What's that headband you've got on? You trying to accessorize now?" He chuckled.
The Doctor, with her eyes still closed rubbed her head trying to ease the pain. She was on Ross's bed back in their resort's suite. When did she get there? Wasn't she out investigating something? Something wasn't right. What was wrong? There were…. missing persons! Of course! She was out trying to find them. Zamora!
The Doctor's eyes flew open, and she quickly turned in the bed to face the concerned Ross. As soon as her eyes locked onto him there was a warm bolt that went through her body. She felt like a magnet that needed to be connected with him. Her sight hazed over, and all she could think of was Ross. He was still in his swim shorts. His top half bare. She just wanted to run her hands over his perfectly chiseled body, and attach her lips to his…
"Doctor, are you alright," Ross asked, confused by the look she was giving.
"I'm fantastic now that you're here," She gave a lop-sided grin and crawled over the bed to be closer to him. She looked up at him as he stood over her with worried eyes.
"You just seem to be acting different…"
The Time Lord stood up on her knees and reached out her hands to run them through his hair lovingly. "I'm just acting how I've always wanted to act. I'm just not shy anymore."
Her human's eye widened at this. She had rendered him speechless for once. She seemed to be unbalanced, so Ross placed his hands on her waist to steady her. The Doctor ran her hand from his hair, down his cheek, and traced his bottom lip with her thumb. He was completely perfect to her. She just wanted him, so badly. All of him. Her eyes flicked from his brown eyes down to his lips. Slowly she began to lean up towards him. Their lips centimeters apart.
"Doctor," Ross whispered. "What are we doing?" He whispered quietly. He was confused as to why she was starting to act this way now, so suddenly. What had brought it on?
"Everything." She replied as she finally connected their lips.
Her body felt as if it was on fire as she feverishly kissed Ross. Luckily, he had acted just as passionately. The Doctor's hand snaked around her companion's neck as she allowed herself to fall back onto the bed pulling him with her. Her hands roamed over the naked half of his body. She wanted to memorize every inch of him. Every dent, dip, scar, and freckle. The Time Lord wrapped her legs around his waist and used her superior strength to flip them, so she was straddling his waist on top. She smirked at his shocked expression. She lightly pulled his bottom lip between her teeth before nibbling down his jaw, toward his neck. She was going to leave him so many love bites as a blissful reminder of this night.
"You know," she began against his neck which must have hummed in the right way, because it caused Ross to groan. That sent another shock through the Doctor's body encouraging her to continue. "Compared to you, I'm feeling a little overdressed."
The Gallifreyan leaned back and quickly shed her jacket along with her top. Her beautiful pink and yellow stared up at her in amazement. This made her smile.
"Like what you see?" She asked in a low voice.
Her companion replied by flipping them back over on the bed, so he was in the more dominant position. The Doctor shimmied out of her pants as Ross began to caress her shoulders, up her neck towards her head. She was completely exposed below him, only in her undergarments. Ross leaned down for a soft kiss as his hands made it to her temples. He grabbed the golden headband quickly and forcefully removed it from her head. He then tossed it to the side of the room.
The Time Lord gasped against Ross's lips as soon as the article was released from her head. It felt as if a bucket of cold water was thrown at her. Her head instantly cleared, as her stared petrified at Ross. What has she done? She quickly pushed him off her as she sat up. Her face was hot from embarrassment.
"That headband you had on, I think it had some charm over you," Ross deduced as he got up from the bed as well. "Doctor…" he began softly.
The Doctor quickly got dressed as Ross did. "We have no time to discuss what just happened. There is a Junite ship out there with hundreds of kidnaped species on board. I've got to save them."
Ross had changed into a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. He was putting his shoes as he spoke. "Right, who's the baddie this time, and how are we going to stop them?"
"You're not coming with," she informed him as she headed for the door.
"The hell I'm not!"
"You'll only slow me down. You have a bum ankle, remember," she reminded him as she left the room. Ross was hot on her tail like always.
"I'm coming with you. I don't care how hurt my ankle is," he said stubbornly.
"Fine. But I don't want to hear you complaining!" She led them towards the TARDIS.
"Where are they?"
"They are all caged up on a Junite's ship hidden below a water fall. We're going to take the TARDIS and pop in on them. I have a feeling that they won't be very cooperative," she explained as she unlocked the door to her ship and stepped in with her human.
She ran over to the console and set the coordinates for the Junite ship. Her mind kept flashing back to what her and Ross had just done. Dread crept into her at the thought of the conversation the were bound to have soon. Her head shook as she rid those thoughts and tried to concentrate. Ross stood back and watched her normal dance around the TARDIS as she landed them onto the enemy's ship.
Once the TARDIS landed the Doctor ran down the ramp and peaked her head outside of the doors. They had landed in the gallery that held all the cells. The Doctor grinned. It was one of the rare times that her piloting had gotten them to the right place at the right time. Her and Ross both stepped out. She nodded her head seeing that there was no panel for her to override the system. She'd have to find the main system and do it manually.
"Right then. Ross, I need to go and find the main controls to override the system and release these cells. As soon as that happens, I need you to corral all the life forms into the TARDIS. We'll have to take them all back ourselves," she informed her companion.
"What about the Junites? What'll happen to them? Can't they be reasoned with," Ross questioned.
"Usually yes. However, I met Zamora and she seems to be one of the very few Junites who are unreasonable. I'll give them one last chance to leave this planet and return home. That's all they get," She told him.
That being said, the Time Lord turned and swiftly exited the doors that had led her into the gallery the first time she was here. She needed to find the main control room. She quickly went up and down the halls scanned for the room that was giving off the most power. Once she located it, she entered the room ready for a fight. To her surprise there was no one in there.
'Well, that's highly unlikely.'
She shook her head, and went to work. Her fingers quickly graced across the controls overriding the ship's system, removing all security, and releasing the cell doors. Once completing her task, the Doctor glanced over the security cameras looking for the one that overlooked the gallery. She grinned as she watched Ross speak and lead each species into the TARDIS. I looked at the other cameras and watched as guards were running down the halls towards they gallery.
"I don't think so," she muttered to herself as her fingers flew across the controls making sure the doors to the gallery were sealed shut. She smiled at herself as she watched them struggle to open the door.
She looked over the panel and hit a button the looked like it was for an intercom. She hoped he was almost finished, because she didn't know for sure if this was going to be projected to the entire ship.
"Ross, can you hear me? How's it going in there," She asked over the intercom. She smiled as she wanted him jump at the sound of her on the monitor.
"Erm, good! Everyone is almost boarded!" He responded.
"Fantastic! Once all boarded, I'll be right down, then we'll be off!" She said as she began to move towards the door.
"That won't be happening Doctor," Zamora's voice came from the monitor.
The Doctor quickly turned around and stared at the screen. It seemed that just as Ross the last of the prisoners onto the TARDIS he was captured by Junite guards. Although, he was smart enough to close the door of the TARDIS before he was captured. Smart boy. The Time Lord's anger flared.
"Release him," she demanded.
"Not until you release my specimen, first."
"No. That is not happening. I won't allow you to enslave all of those species!" She yelled.
"They aren't slaves. They'll live a very luxurious life in their own habitats," Zamora tried to reason.
"That's just not right," The Doctor shook her head in disgust.
"Oh, but I think it is," the Junite began. "Without another festivity as successful as our flora season, our economy will crash! It was the only way our planet was able to be sustainable!"
"There are other ways than enslaving hundreds of species! I can help you! You don't have to do this!"
"We do, Doctor. This is the only way."
The only Stubborn Junite she has ever met. How could she not see the other possibilities? She realized now that they were too far gone. They were never going to see anything else besides their disgusting plan. She couldn't let these corrupt Junites continue roaming the galaxies kidnapping species. She had to end this. Her fingers ran over the controls one last time, silencing the alarm as she set the destruct countdown button off. She had 10 minutes.
"I'll trade myself for him. I'm a much rarer species anyway, being the last of the Time Lords and all."
Zamora's eyes widened. "But, that's impossible… they were all destroyed."
The Doctor's eyes were cold as she spoke, "Who do you think destroyed them all?"
"The last of the Time Lords. That's one hell of a title. People will come from everywhere just to see you…"
"Doctor, don't do it! I'm not worth it," Ross pleaded.
'You have no idea how worth it you are, Ross,'
The Doctor quickly exited the control room and ran down the corridors towards the gallery. Distract them as she got herself and Ross onto the TARDIS? Yeah, sounds easy enough. She rolled her eyes at herself. She found the doors leading into the gallery. She soniced them open and stepped inside. Her eyes instantly landed on Ross. He was still being restrained by the guards, but was otherwise unharmed.
"We will release your human if you surrender yourself to us," Zamora spoke.
"Release him first, then I will go with you willingly," she promised.
Zamora nodded, and the guards released Ross. He instantly ran over to the Doctor and engulfed her into a hug. "You can't go with them," he told her.
"Just go into the TARDIS, quickly. I've got a plan," She whispered to him.
"Really," He looked at her with doubt.
"Do I ever? Just go," she nudged him towards the TARDIS.
He reluctantly obeyed her and went into the TARDIS, but watched from inside the doors. The Doctor turned towards Zamora as two guards approached her. She knew she was going to have to fight her way out of this. She didn't want to get violent, but if she had to.
One guard grabbed her arms and pulled them behind her as the other approached from her front. She threw her head back, and head butted the guard behind her. Which left him dazed. The Time Lord threw her weight back towards the guard behind her which gave her enough momentum to lift both legs up and kick the guard approaching from the front as hard as she could. As her body and legs heavily returned to the ground, she used her strength to throw the guard that was holding her from behind over her shoulder. He landed on the guard she kicked who was starting to get up.
She began to run towards the TARDIS only to be blocked by Zamora herself. The Junite began the grapple with the Gallifreyan. "You will not ruin this for me!" She yelled frustrated.
As they spared, the Doctor finally had an opening that she took. Zamora flew to the ground in a heap. The Doctor took her chance and ran into the TARDIS's open doors.
"You destroyed us, Doctor!" Zamora yelled from her place on the ground.
"You can come with us! I can help you rebuild your planet! We can regrow your flowers! Please, let me help."
"I hope you remember this, Doctor! You destroyed us! You have destroyed us like you destroyed your own people," Zamora roared.
They didn't have much time before the ship destructed. Knowing that Zamora had made her choice, the Doctor shut the TARDIS door. She run up the ramp, swerving in and out all the different species that now filled the console room. The Time Lord didn't her normal dance around the console and send them into the Time Vortex as the Junite Ship imploded.
Once out of danger the Doctor turned towards her many guesses and clapped her hands together with a grin. "Alright. Where to first?"
...
Ross smiled and shut the TARDIS doors after waving goodbye to the human couple, the little boy, and his family. They were safely returned to the resort to Bora Bora. Once the Doctor saw they Ross was safely inside, she sent them into the Time Vortex. She took her time, knowing what was to come next.
Ross would probably demand that he be taken home. This daft old alien had practically jumped his bones. He, of course, went along with it so he could break the spell over her. Ross was a smart one. He knew to just play along. How could she possibly think that he would ever feel the way that she does. He was a human, and she was an ancient alien. The thought probably disgusted him.
"Doctor…" Ross began slowly.
All the blood left her face, and a cold jolt went through her body. This was it. He was going to leave her. Her hearts broke at the thought. She didn't want to be alone again. She couldn't. Madness would finally take hold of her. She couldn't live without traveling with Ross. Her fantastic, brilliant, smart, beautiful, pink and yellow human.
"It was just a spell, Ross. Just let it go," She said through gritted teeth.
"I don't think it was though. I asked her about it while you were running to sacrifice yourself to them. I asked Zamora what that headband was, and why it did what it did…" Ross began.
"It meant nothing, Ross! That headband was just some common love charm…"
"No, it wasn't! I asked her why she would charm you into doing that. She told me that even though it was a powerful charm there still needed to be some affection, or attraction there already for it to even work.
The Doctor refused to look at him, "She was just trying to get to you Ross."
"Why are you lying!" He yelled. The suddenly raise of his voice slightly startled her, making her raise her eyes towards him. He looked completely exasperated.
No… she couldn't lose him. Even if he didn't feel the same way. She couldn't lose him over this. Just then a thought came into her head. Maybe she just didn't have to.
"Oh Ross…" she slowly made her way over towards him. She looked up into his brown eyes as she gently placed a hand on the side of his head.
"Doctor, s'alright. I just want you to know…" he began for the Doctor to tearfully cut him off.
"I'm so sorry," she said quietly, as she placed her other hand onto his other side, and shifted her fingers into the mind connecting positions.
"What are you…" Ross began.
The Doctor forcefully thrust her mind into his. Ross was taken aback.
'What are you doing?' he asked, confused, and slightly fearful.
The Doctor instantly accessed his memories and went to work.
'I can't lose you, Ross. I know you don't feel the same, which is fine. I just can't lose you. So, I'm going to hide that memory from you. I'm not taking it away, just locking it up so you won't have to endure the memory of it.'
"No! Please! Doctor! Please, don't," Ross verbally begged.
'I'm sorry.'
With that, she locked up the memory of them in the resort bedroom and placed it into the deep part of his mind where he'll never have to deal with it again. Just to be sure she also, instantly made him fall unconscious. She carefully placed him on the jumper seat, and went about the console room. She decided to nervously make some repairs on the TARDIS while they drifted in the Time Vortex, and waited for her human to wake up.
It took about 20 minutes for him to finally come to. He groaned slightly as he began to sit up.
"Doctor," he called out.
The Time Lord held her breath for a second, before placing a fake grin on her face as she popped her head out from the other side of the console.
"Hello there, sleeping beauty! Did you enjoy your nap?"
"What happened," he asked groggy.
"You don't remember?" she asked, faking concern. She knew what happened.
"Sorta. S' all kinda fuzzy."
"Well what do you remember," She asked, slightly nervous.
"You left me on the beach," he paused as he thought back. "I returned to the room later on after getting a little sun sick. I found you napping on the bed, so I woke you up…" The Doctor held her breath again at this part. "You jumped up and started to prattle on about Junite's and missing people that we had to save. We went about the ship. You released the kidnapped species, and I corralled them onto the TARDIS. You came back and sacrificed yourself to Zamora, before becoming this badass fighter and took them all out! We then returned all of the species, and then it gets fuzzy again."
The Doctor grinned. "Well after we dropped off the humans at Bora Bora you went over to the jump seat, plopped down, and fell asleep."
"Oh. Well I suppose I am a bit tired. Should probably be off to bed then if we're going to be running around saving galaxies again tomorrow," he grinned at her. "G'night, Doctor," he called as he began to shuffle out of the console room.
"G'night, Ross Tyler!" She called after him with a grin still plastered on her face. Once he knew he was completely gone her face dropped. She laid her head against the console and released a sigh.
She was going to have to watch herself from now on. Things had to go back to normal, or even less so. She didn't want that memory being released. Her hearts broke more at the thought and Ross demanding to be sent home. The TARDIS knew her thief was upset, so she let out a warm hum letting her know that everything will be alright.
"I know, old girl." The Time Lord gave a sad smile, and placed hand on the large column in the middle of the console. "I'll be alright. I always am.

What Is This Feeling: Chapter 9
Fem!9th Doctor x Male!Rose Tyler
WITF Masterlist
The last time we saw our dynamic duo they had picked up a stray from Utah. Adele was only with them for one adventure, before she almost got them killed. She also got an information port embedded into her forehead which is a big taboo. You never try and change the future or past in a dramatic way. So, the Doctor once again had to save the day. Needless to say, Adele was dumped back off at her place once they were out of danger.
Ross and the Doctor were currently relaxing in the control room throwing around ideas on which place they should explore next. The Doctor was sitting on the jumper rolling a ball between her hands.
"How about the planet of Junifer? It's really beautiful this time of year. They have one of the best flower festivals in the universe," she suggested with a smile.
Ross shook his head. He seemed really off this morning. She had asked him earlier if anything was the matter. He had denied that something was wrong. The Doctor left it at that assuming he had wanted his space. However, this was the fifth place that he had rejected.
"Alright. Is there any place that you're wanting to go to," she asked.
"Well… there is one place I've been thinking a lot about. Well it's more of a time rather than a place," He started. "I want to meet my dad. Peter Alan Tyler. The greatest man in the world. Born 15th September 1954. My mum would always take out a photo album and start telling me about him. I wasn't old enough to remember him. He died on 1987, 7th of November. It was the day that Stuart Hoskins and Sarah Clarke got married. That what mum always said. So I was thinking, could we, could we go and see my dad when he was alive," he said somberly.
"Where's this come from, all of a sudden," she furrowed her brows at him.
"All right then, if we can't, if it goes against the laws of time or something, then never mind, just leave it," he mumbled as he began to absentmindedly touch knobs on the TARDIS's console.
The Doctor furrowed her brows as she studied her favorite pink and yellow human. This was a simple adventure. There's nothing wrong with Ross wanted to see his dad alive. She was just a bit worried how Ross would take in the event. Humans seem to be much more emotional than Time Lords.
"No, I can do anything. I'm just worried about you," she gazed at her companion with concerned eyes.
"I want to see him," Ross confirmed.
"Your wish is my command," The Doctor smiled. "But be careful what you wish for."
The Time Lord hopped up onto her feet and began her dance around the console, hitting buttons, twisting knobs, pulling levers. This console is originally meant for at least 8 Time Lords to operate her. It was miracle the Doctor was able to do it by herself. Although she has had many years of practice under her belt now.
The pair arrived just in time for the wedding ceremony. They didn't want to be noticed to much in case people came asking questions, so they sat in the back pew. It wasn't very formal. Jackie didn't even wear a white dress. She was in a baby pink pencil skirt with a matching blouse and blazer. As she walked down the aisle towards Peter she seemed to be a mixture of happiness, nerves, and dare she say doubt. Peter, on the other hand, was all nerves.
"Repeat after me. I, Peter Alan Tyler, take you, Jacqueline Angela Suzette Prentice…" The officiant spoke.
"I, Peter Alan Tyler, take you, Jacqueline Angela Suzanne…" Everyone's eyes grew large with the mix up. Peter tried to correct himself but dug himself an even further hole. "Suzanne Anita…"
"That wasn't even remotely close," The Doctor thought. "I never thought I would say this, but poor Jackie. This bloke must have been sneaking around behind her back. And yet she still wants to marry him."
All eyes were on Jackie now, awaiting her response. "Oh, just carry on. It's good enough for Lady Di."
The Doctor grinned. Of course, it was such a Jackie response.
"I thought he's be taller," Ross whispered.
After the ceremony, they snuck out before the newly bride and groom could make their rounds greeting all of their guests and thanking them. They were back in the TARDIS once again.
"Well that was fun, wasn't it?" the Doctor grinned as she practically skipped around the console. She had hoped this would make her little human feel a little bit better. She hated it when he was feeling down.
Ross moved towards the Doctor slow and hesitantly. He still wore a frown on his face. His eyes were trained on the ground.
"I- I remember mum telling me that no one was there. When he died that is. It was a hit and run driver. Never found out who. He was dead when the ambulance got there," Ross finally looked up and met the Doctor's gaze. "I want to be that someone."
The Time Lord of course gave in. "November the 7th?"
"1987," he finished.
The Doctor flipped some switches and the Time Rotor once again started up. Once they landed the TARDIS parked herself between a telephone junction box and a road sign by Park Railings. They stepped outside to the sound of Never Can Say Goodbye playing off in the distance. The Doctor took a deep breath in and looked around.
"It's so weird. The day my father died. I thought I'd be all grim and stormy. It's just an ordinary day," Ross softly spoke and also gazed around.
"The past is another country. 1987's just the Isle of Wight," she looked at her companion. "Are you sure about this?"
"Yeah," he quickly replied and nodded his head. He also threw the Doctor a reassured smile.
"Alright then. Off we go," she spoke with a smile before walking off.
A few blocks away Ross stopped and stared at a road with minor disbelief.
"This is it. Jordan Road. He was late. He'd been getting a wedding present, a vase." He started to choke up a little bit. "Mum always said, 'that stupid vase'."
Just then a car rounded the corner. It was Peter.
Ross continued narrating the scene unfolding before them.
"He got out of his car…" The car pulled up to the curb. "And crossed the road…" He watched with slight horror. "Oh God, this is it."
The Doctor wrapped Ross's hand with hers and held it as Peter got out of his car. She wanted to comfort Ross that was the only subtle way she could do it.
The two watched in silence. As Peter got out he was instantly hit but the driver. Ross shut his eyes during the impact. The car zoomed away leaving Peter and the vase lying broken in the street. The Doctor turned to Ross.
"Go to him. Quick."
Ross stood there frozen in horror. Tears formed in his eyes as he watched his father slow die in the street.
"I can't…" he softly whispered.
Once the Doctor realized that he was in shock and not going to his father's aid, she slowly steered him away. The went around the corner and sat on the ground with their backs against the brick wall. The Doctor held Ross's hand slowly running her thumb over the back of it comfortingly until Ross snapped out of his daze. The ambulances sirens could be heard arriving.
"It's too late now. By the time the ambulance got there, he was dead." Ross looked at the Doctor sorrowfully, with tears running down his cheeks. It pained the Doctor to see him like this. "He can't die alone. Can I try again?"
She caved once more to please her little human.
The Doctor and Ross hide behind the corner to see themselves waiting by the curbside.
"Right, that's the first you and me. It's a very bad idea, two sets of us being here at the same time. Just be careful they don't see us. Wait till she leads him off, then go to your dad," the Doctor informed him. Peter got out of his car.
"Oh God, this is it," Past Ross said.
"I can't do this," Present Ross spoke, slightly panicked.
"You don't have to do anything you don't want to, but this is the last time that we can be here," the Doctor told him.
Ross suddenly sprinted towards Peter as he was getting out of his car.
"Ross! No!" The Doctor yelled.
Ross wrapped his arms around his father and threw both of them off to the side of the road out of the way of the driver. The previous Doctor and Ross disappeared. Oh, no no no! This was not good!
The doctor didn't notice Peter pointing at her. She was too busy seething. Stupid, Stupid humans! This was all a ploy, wasn't it? Have her take him back just so he could save his father's life! Was he planning this all along? Buddy on up to her and then convince her to take him here. It's no bloody wonder he hoped on in the TARDIS as soon as he said that it could travel back in time.
The Doctor hadn't said a single word the entire way to the Tyler's flat. Even once they were inside and Peter started to yammer on about some invention. The Doctor waited until she was alone with Ross in the living room. Her arms were folded across her chest and she leaned against the door frame. She watched Ross analyzing the place and continue to speak about unimportant things in the apartment like his father's bowling trophy of health drinks. The Doctor could honestly care less and glared at Ross completely cross.
"'Kay, look, I'll tell him you're not my girlfriend," he said thinking that's why she was so annoyed. How could this daft human no understand the entirety of this situation?! How could he? He was just a stupid little human.
"When we met, I said travel with me in space. You said no. Then I said time machine," she spoke trying to cover the hurt in her voice.
"It wasn't some big plan. I just saw it happening and I thought…I can stop it," Ross defended himself.
The Doctor gave herself a sad smile. "I did it again. I picked another stupid ape. I should've known. It's not about showing you the universe. It never is. It's about the universe doing something for you."
"So it's okay when you go to other times, and you save people's lives, but not when it's me saving my dad-"
"I know what I'm doing! You don't!" She cut him off. "Two sets of us being there made that a very vulnerable point," she tried to explain.
"But he's alive!"
"My ENTIRE planet died. My family! Do you think it never occurred to me to go back and save them?"
"But it's not like I've changed history. Not much. I mean he's never going to be a world leader. He's not going to start World War Three or anything," he tried to rationalize.
"Ross, there's a man alive in the world who wasn't alive before. An ordinary man. That's the most important thing in creation. The whole world's different because he's alive," she kept trying to explain to him.
"What, would you rather him dead?"
"I'm not saying that," she shook her head in annoyance.
"No, I get it! For once you're not the most important person in my life," he told her full of bitter.
This struck a pain in her chest. She, at one point, was the most important person in Ross Tyler's life. Above Mickey, her mum, everyone. And now she wasn't. It hurt so much. It angers her that it hurts so much. Why does she feel this way? Why did she have to form feelings for this ape? She should know by now that they all hurt her. They all leave her in the end. Why did she think that this one was any different?
"Let's see how you get on without me, then. Give me the key." She held her hand out. "The TARDIS key. If I'm so insignificant, give it me back," It truly pained her to say these words, but she put up her cool, stony look so he couldn't see what he had done to her.
"Alright then, I will," he said and placed the key into her hand.
"You got what you wanted, so that's goodbye then," she spoke coolly, before turning around and began to leave.
"You don't scare me," he cut her off and stood in front of her. "I know how sad you are. You'll be back in a minute, or you'll hang around outside the Tardis waiting for me. And I'll make you wait a long time," he yelled after her.
She quickly left the flat. She didn't want him to see a truly sad she was. Her pace was quick as she walked down the sidewalk towards the TARDIS. Hot tears were forming in her eyes. She angrily wiped them away. Why was she crying over a stupid ape? She very rarely cried, and she was not going to start crying over Ross!
The TARDIS was in sight. Just as she reached it a cold wind blew past right. She felt as if something was watching her. She looked up towards the sky to find nothing there. She shook her head as she unlocked the door and started to push open the door. That familiar hum and warm was gone. Throwing the doors open she found that the inside of the TARDIS was gone! Now it was just an ordinary telephone booth. She must have been too busy arguing with Ross and feeling sorry for herself that she didn't notice the connection to her old friend had disappeared. This was not good! Everyone was in trouble.
"Ross!" She yelled before sprinting off towards the church the wedding was being held at. The flat would be empty by the time she got there. An old church might actually be the best place to be in a situation like this. She ran as fast as she could. She just hoped that she would make it in time.
As she turned the corner leading to the church she saw Ross standing on the side walk along with the bride, bridesmaids, Peter, and more. They all are in immediate danger.
"Ross!" Ross turned around and smiled knowingly at the Doctor assuming she came back because she missed him. "Get in the church!" She yelled. Ross's smile fell.
Just then they both looked into the sky to see a large creature with bat-like wings appear. It was very devilish looking. The reaper hissed and started to swoop in on Ross. He cried out in fear as it almost latched its talons onto him. The Doctor quickly took action and pushed them both onto the ground and out of the reaper's grab.
"Get in the church," she said once again, to everyone.
The ground quickly headed for the church only to be stopped at the inside of the gates when another reaper appeared. The Doctor put herself in front of the other's ready to distract the beast if need be.
"Oh, my God. What are they? What are they," one woman cried.
"Inside," the Doctor kept yelling trying to coral them in.
"Sarah," the groom yelled for his bride-to-be and stepped outside.
"Stay in there," the Doctor yells at him.
One man, the father of the groom, took in the situation and decided to try and escape. The reapers pounce on him before he could even get a few feet away. Another one appears in the bride's path and she just screams at it, scaring it away. It decided to take that vicar as its next victim. This gave the group some time to make it safely into the church.
Once inside the Doctor began to survey the area making sure they the reapers couldn't get in. Their screeches rang loudly outside of the church.
"They can't get in. Old windows and doors. Okay. The older something is, the stronger it is. What else?" Her mind was racing a million miles a second. She had to make sure they couldn't get in. At least for the time being so she could figure out how to get them out of this mess. "Go and check the other doors! Move!" She cried out orders like the true warrior that she once was.
As the Doctor began to move around Jackie followed. "What's Happening? What are they? What are they," Jackie asked.
"There's been an accident in time. A wound in time. They're like bacteria, taking advantage," she informed her as the Doctor began checking other doors and windows.
"What do you mean, time? What're you jabbering on about, time?" Jackie snarked back, like always.
"Oh, I might've known you'd argue. Jackie, I'm sick of you complaining," the Doctor rolled her eyes.
"How do you know my name," Jackie demanded.
"I haven't got time for this-" the Doctor was cut off by Jackie once more.
"I've never met you in my life," Jackie exclaimed.
"No, and you never will unless I sort this out. Now, if you don't mind, I've waited a long time to say this. Jackie Tyler, do as I say. Go and check the doors," she ordered the woman.
Jackie was shocked to finally be yelled back at. She quickly nodded her head and replied with a 'Yes Ma'am' before running off to check the doors and windows.
"I should have done that ages ago," she laughed.
The groom walked over to the Doctor. "My dad was out there."
"You can mourn him later. Right now, we need to concentrate on keeping ourselves alive,'" the Doctor told him.
"My dad had-"
"There's nothing that I can do for him," she told him firmly.
"No, but he had this phone thing. I can't get it to work. I keep getting this voice." He passed to phone to the Doctor. She put it up to her ear and listened.
"Watson, come here. I need you," it said. The Doctor smiled.
"That's the very first phone call. Alexander Graham Bell. I don't think the telephone's going to be much use," she passed it back to him.
"But someone must have called the police," he said.
"Police can't help you now. No one can. Nothing in this universe can harm those things. Time's been damaged and they've come to sterilize the wound. By consuming everything inside," she explained to everyone. Her eyes locked with Ross who was standing in front of her.
"Is this because… is this my fault?" He asked. The Doctor didn't answer as she stepped around him.
She was still really made at him, so she decided to go off and work rather than say something she might regret later. The Time Lord strode up to the front of the church and began to use her sonic to bolt the doors down. Just was she was doing so the bride and groom approached her.
"Excuse me, Miss," the groom said.
"Doctor," she corrected him.
"You seem to know what's going on," he stated.
"I give that impression, yeah," she said not removing her eyes from her work. In reality she really had no idea how she was going to get them out of this situation.
"I just wanted to ask-" he was cut off by his fiancée.
"Can you save us," she asked abruptly.
This made the Doctor stop her work and turn towards the couple.
"Who are you two, then," she asked, look at them both up and down.
"Stuart Hoskins," the groom said.
"Sarah Clarke," the bride followed.
The Doctor's eyes strayed onto Sarah's slightly protruding stomach.
"And one extra. Boy or a girl?" She asked.
Sarah looked down at her stomach and smiled while caressing it, "I don't know. I don't want to know, really."
"How did all this get started," the Doctor cocked her head, and asked curiously.
"Outside the beatbox club, two in the morning," Stuart grinned at Sarah.
"Street corner," Sarah added with a laugh. "I lost my purse, didn't have money for a taxi."
"I took her home," he said happily.
"Then what? Ask her for a date," the Doctor laughed.
"Wrote his number on the back of my hand," Sarah confirmed.
"Never got rid of her since," he grinned. " My dad said-" he trailed off with a frown.
"I don't know what this is all about, and I know we're not important-" Sarah began sadly.
"Who said you're not important? I've travelled to all sorts of places, done things you couldn't even imagine, but you two. Street corner, two in the morning, getting a taxi home. I've never had a life like that. Yes. I'll try and save you." The Time Lord smiled at the pair.
Suddenly Jackie began to call her over. As she walked over to the blonde she began to prepare for another lecture of some sort. She was surprised when Jackie asked if she could watch baby Ross while she went and looked for Peter and little Mickey. She of course obliged. Little Ross looked up at her and began to smile. This made the Doctor's heart soar. Even though she was still a little ticked at her Ross, she had no reason to be angry with this little one. He was even as cute as his current Ross.
She sat down beside him and offered him to play with her fingers a she smiled down. She began to talk to him knowing very well that he would not understand her. However, the present Ross approaching them would.
"Now, Ross you're not going to bring about the end of the world, are you? Are you?" She gave a sideways glance to Ross. "Jackie gave her to me to look after. How times change."
Ross gave a small laugh. "I'd better be careful. I think I just imprinted myself on Mickey like a mother chicken."
He began to lean in close to the baby. The Doctor put her hand on his chest to stop him.
"No. Don't touch the baby. You're both the same person. That's a paradox, and we don't want a paradox happening, not with these things outside. Anything new, any disturbance in time makes them stronger. The paradox might let them in," she informed him.
"I can't do anything right, can I," he mumbled dejected.
The Doctor looked at him and frowned. She knew he was hurting, but he needed to learn from his mistake. If he wanted to continue to travel with her then he can't make stupid and dangerous mistakes like this again.
"Since you asked, no! So, Don't. Touch. The baby." She emphasized every word so he would understand.
"I'm not stupid," he glared at her.
"You could have fooled me," she shot back. Ross looked away, sad and a little angry. She knew that she had to be the one to cave first and fix this bitterness between them. She really hated it when they were like this. "Alright, I'm sorry. I wasn't really going to leave you on your own."
"I know," he looked at her with apologetic eyes.
"But between you and me, I haven't got a plan. No idea. No way out," she confessed.
"You'll think of something. You always do."
"The entire Earth's been sterilized. This, and other places like it, are all that's left of the human race. We might hold out for a while, but nothing can stop those creatures. They'll get through in the end. The walls aren't that old. And there's nothing I can do to stop them. There used to be laws stopping this kind of thing from happening. My people would have stopped this. But they're all gone. And now I'm going the same way."
"If I'd just realized…" he began.
"Just… tell me you're sorry," she looked at him.
"I am. I'm sorry," and he meant it.
The Doctor reached out and placed a hand on his cheek. Ross held onto it with his hand and leaned into the touch. The Time Lord grinned at him and the both fell into a hug. Ross leaned back with a small jolt.
"Have you got something hot," he asked. He reached into her jacket pocket and pulled out the TARDIS key. It was scolding hot which made him quickly toss it to the ground.
"It's the TARDIS key," she grinned and quickly took off her leather jacket to pick up the flowing key. "It's telling me it's still connected to the TARDIS. Everyone! I have an announcement!" She ran up to the back of the church and faced the entire crowd. "The inside of my ship was thrown out of the wound but we can use this to bring it back. And once I've got my ship back, then I can mend everything. Now, I just need a bit of power. Has anybody got a battery?"
Stuart quickly grabbed his dad's phone and passed it to the Doctor.
"Fantatic!" She grinned. She took the battery and began to charge it up with her sonic. Once it was ready she placed the key where the door would be and it held in place. The TARDIS slowly began to materialize around it. "Right, no one touches that key. Have you got that? Don't touch it. Anyone touches that key, it'll be, well, zap. Just leave it be and everything will be fine. We'll get out of here. All of us. Stuart, Sarah you're going to get married, just like I said." She grinned at the couple.
Afterwards there was nothing much to do except wait. Ross and the Doctor sat in one of the back pews with Peter in the one directly behind them. Ross leaned towards the Doctor and began to speak softly.
"When time gets sorted out-" he began.
"Everybody here forgets what happened. And don't worry, the thing that you changed will stay changed," she finished his thought.
"You mean I'll still be alive, though I'm meant to be dead. That's why I haven't done anything with my life, why I didn't mean anything," Peter started from behind them.
"It doesn't work like that," the Doctor said.
"Rubbish. I'm so useless I couldn't even die properly. Now it's my fault all of this has happened," Peter said with a frown.
"This is my fault," Ross reassured him.
"No, mate. I'm your dad. It's my job for it to be my fault," Peter stated.
The Doctor got up and shook her head in frustration. Of course, Ross told him.
"Her dad? How are you her dad? How old were you, twelve? Oh, that's disgusting," Jackie said, overhearing the entire conversation.
"Jacks, listen. This is Ross," he tried to explain.
"Ross? How sick is that? You give my son a second-hand name? How many are there? Do you call them all Ross," Jackie yelled defensively.
"Oh, for God's sake, look! It's the same Ross," Peter said taking baby Ross out of Jackie's hands and place him into Ross's hands.
"Ross! No!" The Doctor yelled, but it was too late. She grabbed the baby and placed him back into Jackie's arms.
Just then a reaper formed inside the church causing panic. "Everyone! Behind me!" They all ran behind the Doctor as she held her arms out in a sad attempt to protect them all. She stared up at the creature with fear in her eyes. "I'm the oldest thing in here."
Within a blink of an eye the reaper flew towards her. There was a second of pain. Then darkness.
The Doctor woke up on the ground where she was attacked completely unharmed. She felt her body and did a quick once over. She was fine, and was not regenerate. While getting up on her feet the first thought to cross her mind was to find Ross. As she stepped outside she began to observe the situation. Peter was lying in the middle of the road once again with a broken vase. He must have sacrificed himself to set everything right. She walked up next to Ross.
"Go to him. Quick," she told him.
With that bit of encouragement, he ran off to be with his father during his final moments. The Doctor finally approached the scene once I was over. She held put her hand for Ross to take. He did, and the two walked hand in hand back to the TARDIS for some much needed down time before their next adventure.

What Is This Feeling: Chapter 8
Fem!9th Doctor x Male!Rose Tyler
WITF Masterlist
The Doctor was in and out of consciousness. That laser almost hurt as bad as regenerating. She stayed silent. She didn't want to say anything that would make Van Statten blast her again. Suddenly a voice came over the intercom.
"Condition Red! Condition Red! I repeat, this is not a drill."
The Doctor lifted her head and made eye contact with Van Statten. Her voice was hoarse, but dead serious.
"Release me if you want to live."
He quickly followed her command and released the Time Lord. She had never gotten dressed that quickly in her life. Then again the entire world depended on it. Within minutes they were in Van Statten's office observing the cage from a flat screen on the wall. Ross was on said screen talking with them. The Doctor honestly couldn't be surprised.
"You've got to keep it in that cell," she told them.
"Doctor, it's all my fault," Ross spoke apologetically.
"I've sealed the compartment. It can't get out, that lock's got a billion combinations," the guard said.
"A Dalek's a genius. It can calculate a thousand billion combinations in one second flat."
The Doctor looked on as she was just proven right. The metal door slowly opened, and released the Dalek. The guard's started to do an open fire. Don't they know it won't work?!
"Ross, get out of there!" She commanded her companion.
Ross, the other girl, and the female guard managed to escape. The Dalek, however, was rolling itself towards the camera. Thus getting closer to the screen. It extended its plunger and broke the connection.
"We're losing power," Goddard gathered around the computer screen with Van Statten and the Doctor. "It's draining the base. Oh, my god. It's draining entire power supplies for the whole of Utah."
The trio was analyzing a holographic map of the United States. Utah blackened.
"It's downloading," the Doctor informed them.
"Downloading what?" Van Statten asked.
The whole West Coast blackened on the map.
"Sir, the entire West Coast has gone down," Goddard updated.
"It's not just energy. That Dalek just absorbed the entire internet. It knows everything," the Doctor stated.
Goddard started to pound away on the computer. "The cameras in the vault are down."
"We've only got emergency power. It's eaten everything else. You've got to kill it now!" The Doctor yelled.
Goddard spoke over the intercom. "All guards to converge in the Metaltron cage, immediately."
The three no longer had visual, but they still had audio. This was just as bad. They grimly heard the guards die one by one. They were soon all dead, and Van Statten couldn't care less. All he cared about was the stupid Dalek.
"This museum of yours, have you got any alien weapons," the Doctor asked.
"Lots of them, but the trouble is the Dalek's between us and them," Goddard explained.
"We've got to keep that thing alive. We could just seal the entire vault, trap it down there," Van Statten suggested.
"Leaving everyone trapped with it. Ross is down there. I won't let that happen. Have you got that?" She stared at the man with fire in her eyes. She then turned back to Goddard. "It's got to go through this area. What's that?" She pointed to an area on the screen.
"Weapon's testing."
"Give a gun to the technicians, the lawyers, anyone. Everyone. Only have one chance of killing it," she informed the assistant.
The Doctor sat down at the computer and began to attempt to get one of the screens to show visuals. After a few minutes the screen showed the loading bay. She practically whooped at her accomplishment.
"I thought you were a great expert, Doctor. If you're so impressive, then why not just reason with the Dalek? It must be willing to negotiate. There must be something it needs. Everything needs something," Van Statten question.
"What's the nearest town," the Doctor asked.
"Salt Lake City."
"Population?"
"One million."
"All dead. If the Dalek gets out, it'll murder every living creature. That's all it needs," the Doctor tried to explain to the stupid ape for what seemed like the thousandth time. He's turned out to be quite dense.
"But why would it do that?"
"Because it honestly believes they should die. Human beings are different, and anything different is wrong. It's the ultimate in racial cleansing, and you, Van Statten, you've let it loose! The Dalek's surrounded by a force field. The bullets are melting before they even hit home, but it's not indestructible," she tried to explain.
She turned from Van Statten and spoke to the screen. "If you concentrate your fire, you might get through. Aim for the dome, the head, the eyepiece. That's the weak spot," she told him.
Moments of anticipation passed. Soon Ross and the girl came running in, making most of them jump. They soon fled the battle area once again. It wasn't long after that the Dalek appeared.
The guards held open fire against the Dalek. None of the bullets affected it. The Dalek rose in the air and zapped the fire alarm. Water started to rain down from the sprinklers. Once the ground and metal beams were nice and wet, the Dalek zapped them. This caused the guards to all get electrocuted, and die.
The trio all stared at the screen in fallen silence. It didn't take long for Van Statten to start making an escape plan for himself. However, this needed to end. Now.
"You said we could seal the vault?" The Time Lord asked.
"It was designed to be a bunker in an event of a nuclear war. Steel bulkheads," the American confirmed.
"There's not enough power. Those bulkheads are massive," Goddard added.
"We've got emergency power. We can re-route that to the bulkhead doors," the Doctor told her.
"We'd have to bypass the security codes. That would take a computer genius."
"Good thing you've got me, then," Van Statten spoke as he sat down in front of the computer.
"You want to help," the Doctor was truly surprised at this.
"I don't want to die, Doctor. Simple as that. And nobody knows this software better than me."
Just then the large screen lit up with an image of the Dalek still in the rain.
"I shall speak on-ly to the doc-tor," it demanded.
"You're going to get rusty," the Doctor commented.
"I fed off the D-N-A of Ross Ty-ler. Ex-tra-po-la-ting the bi-o-mass of a time tra-ve-ler re-gen-er-at-ed me," it told the Doctor.
Her face was deadpan as she spoke, "What's your next trick?"
"I have been sear-ching for the Da-leks."
"Yeah, I saw. Downloading the internet. What did you find?"
"I scanned your sa-tell-ites and ra-di-o tel-e-scopes," it told the Doctor.
"And?"
"No-thing. Where should I get my or-ders now," it asked, almost sounding lost.
"All right, then. If you want orders, follow this one. Kill yourself," she told it honestly.
"Daleks must survive!" It shot back.
The Doctor could no longer take it. This foul creature was the reason she was forced to blow up her home planet, causing genocide for both races.
"The Daleks have failed! Why don't you just finish the job and make the Dalek's extinct. Rid the universe of your filth. Why don't you just die?!" She practically screamed at the creature.
There was a short pause before the machine spoke again. "You would make a good Da-lek."
Then the screen went to black. The Doctor's stomach dropped at the words. Her eyes were slightly widened as she stared at the black screen.
"Seal the vaults," she ordered quickly.
"Doctor, he's still down there," Goddard reminded the Doctor.
She quickly put a headset on, and called the number she knew by heart.
"This isn't the best time," Ross answered.
"Where are you," she asked.
"Level forty nine," he responded.
"You've got to keep moving. The vault's being sealed off at level forty six," she informed him.
"Can't you stop them closing?"
"I'm the one closing them. I can't wait, and I can't help you. Now for God's sake, Run!"
"Done it. We've got power to the bulkheads," Van Statten reported. Good news!
"The Dalek's right behind them," Goddard also reported in. Bad news!
"We're nearly there! Give us two seconds," Ross told the Doctor.
"Doctor, I can't sustain the power. The whole system is failing. Doctor, you've got to close the bulkheads," Van Statten said.
The Doctor was then left with an incredibly hard decision. Save her human, or let the entire human race get destroyed. No matter how much she wanted to wait for Ross. One race was already wiped out because of her. She was not going to let it happen a second time.
"I'm sorry," she said quietly as she hit the enter key, lowering the bulkheads.
Moments later, Van Statten spoke up.
"The vault is sealed."
The Doctor leapt up from her chair anxiously.
"Ross, where are you? Ross, did you make it?"
"Sorry, I was a bit slow," he sadly responded.
Her hearts stopped. Ross didn't make it. He was trapped out there because of her. Now the Dalek's going to catch up with him and she can't do anything.
"See you, then, Doctor."
'Oh God, he's saying his goodbyes!'
"It wasn't your fault. Remember that, okay? It wasn't your fault. And you know what? I wouldn't have missed it for the world."
In the background she could hear the Dalek's 'Exterminate', and the zap of its laser.
"I killed him," she said softly.
"I'm sorry," Van Statten apologized.
"I said I'd protect him. He was only here because of me, and you're sorry? I could've killed that Dalek in its cell, but you stopped me," she turned her self-hatred onto Van Statten.
"It was the prize of my collection!"
"YOUR COLLECTION!? But was it worth it? Worth all of those men's deaths? Worth Ross? Let me tell you something, Van Statten. Mankind goes into space to explore, to be part of something greater."
"Exactly! I wanted to touch the stars," he exclaimed.
"You just want to drag the stars down and stick them underground, underneath tons of sand and dirt, and label them. You're about as far from the stars as you can get," she paused in realization.
"And you took him down with you. He was nineteen years old."
Adele suddenly entered the office. The Doctor was quickly in her face, ready to release some more anger.
"You were quick on your feet, leaving Ross behind," she spat out.
"I'm not the one who sealed the vault," she yelled back.
The screen lit up with an image of the Dalek and a very much alive Ross.
"Op-en the bulk-heads or Ross Ty-ler dies," it demanded.
"You're alive!" The Doctor exclaimed excitedly. Oh was she so relieved.
"Can't get rid of me," he gave a small smile.
"I thought you were dead," the Doctor, almost tearfully, said.
"Op-en the bulk-head," the Dalek demanded once more.
"Don't do it," Ross yelled, attempting to be brave.
"What use are e-mo-tions if you will not save the man you love?" It asked.
It felt like time had slowed down.
'Love. Is that was this is? This confusing feeling I have for this pink and yellow human?'
No. It can't be love. How could a Gallifreyan possibly be in love with a human? They were two separate races! No. It just wouldn't work.
'Oh, my god. I'm falling in love with Ross Tyler,' she thought, horrified.
After her sudden epiphany, she looked at Van Statten.
"I killed him once. I can't do it again," she told him as she pressed the enter key once more.
The bulkhead opened. Ross and the Dalek made their way through.
"What do we do now, you bleeding heart! What the hell do we do," Van Statten yelled.
"Kill it when it gets here," Adele suggested.
"All the guns are useless, and the alien weapons are in the vault," Goddard stated, stressing out.
"Only the catalogued ones," Adele blurted.
Van Statten didn't look pleased. The Doctor shoved her towards the exit door.
"Lead me," she demanded.
Adele quickly took the Doctor down to her workshop. Once inside she showed the Time Lord the weapons. The Doctor went through the bin, tossing the useless items.
"Broken. Broken. Hairdryer."
"Mister Van Statten tends to dispose of his staff, and when he does he wipes their memory. I kept this stuff in case I needed to fight my way out one day," Adele explained.
"What, you in a fight," the Doctor scoffed. "I'd like to see that."
"I could do," she protested.
"What're you going to do? Throw your A-levels at 'em?" The Doctor grinned as she picked up a useful, and deadly, giant weapon. "Oh, yes. Lock and load."
Without second thought, the Doctor bolted out of Adele's workshop, and up the stairs. She was going to finally kill this thing and save the Earth. No, forget the Earth. She was going to save Ross.
Once the Doctor made it to level one she sprinted down the corridor. She stopped once she saw Ross with the Dalek. She didn't allow herself time to take in the situation. All she could feel was the adrenaline pumping in her veins, and the fury of her dead people. It was going to end, now! She held up the large gun, and aimed it at the Dalek
"Get out of the way." Ross just turned and stared at her. "Ross, get out of the way!"
"No. I won't let you do this," he protested.
"That thing killed hundreds of people," she said.
"It's not the one pointing the gun at me."
"I've got to do this. I've got to end it. The Daleks destroyed my home, my people. I've got nothing left."
"Look at it," he gestured to the squid-like creature inside the metal armor.
"What's it doing," she asked.
"It's the sunlight, that's all it wants."
"But it can't-"
"It couldn't kill Van Statten, it couldn't kill me. It's changing. What about you, Doctor? What the hell are you changing into," Ross asked.
Finally realizing what was going on, the Doctor lowered her gun.
"I couldn't- I wasn't- Oh, Ross. They're all dead," she said sadly.
"Why do we sur-vive," Dalek asked.
"I don't know," the Doctor frowned.
"I am the last of the Da-leks," it stated.
"You're not even that. Ross did more than regenerate you. You've absorbed his DNA. You're mutating."
"In-to what," it asked.
"Something new. I'm sorry," and she was.
"Isn't new better?" Ross asked.
` "Not for a Dalek," she replied.
"I can feel so ma-ny i-de-as," it spoke. "So much dark-ness. Ross, give me or-ders. Or-der me to die."
"I can't do that," Ross said quietly.
"This is not life. This is sick-ness. I shall not be like you. Or-der my des-tru-ction! O-bey! O-bey! O-bey!"
After a moment, Ross finally spoke up.
"Do it."
"Are you fright-ened, Ross Ty-ler?"
"Yeah," he answered.
"So am I… Ex-ter-min-ate."
Ross began to retreat to the Doctor's side, and out of harm's way. The Dalek closed up its armor, and began to hover. The balls on the Dalek detached themselves and surrounded it. The balls also formed a force field around it. The Dalek then imploded on itself. The Doctor nor Ross was harmed.
Once it was all over the Doctor dropped her gun. The pair instantly embraced one another and wouldn't let go. After a few moments the Doctor found her voice.
"I'm so sorry, Ross. For everything," she apologized.
"It's alright. You were upset," Ross soothed the alien. They pulled apart and Ross looked at the Doctor. "Tell me about it. The Time War."
So on their way back to the TARDIS, she told the tale of the Time War. Ross took all of the details surprisingly well. He seemed to understand.
Once back in the museum, the Doctor ran a hand over the TARDIS door.
"A little piece of home. Better than nothing," she said.
"Is that the end of it, the Time War?"
"I'm the only one left. I win. How about that," she gave a sad smile.
"The Dalek survived. Maybe some of your people did too," Ross suggested.
"I'd know. In here," she pointed to her head. "Feels like there's no one."
"Well then, good thing I'm not going anywhere," he grinned at her.
"Yeah," she smiled back.
The moment was short lived as Adele appeared with her bag in hand.
"We'd better get out. Van Statten's disappeared. They're closing down the base. Goddard says they're going to fill it full of cement, like it never existed."
"About time," Ross commented.
"I'll have to go back home," Adele said sadly.
"Better hurry up. Next flight to Heathrow leaves at fifteen hundred hours," the Doctor informed her.
"Adele was saying that all her life she wanted to see the stars," Ross said while giving the puppy dog eyes to the Doctor.
'Oh no! Not gonna happen.'
"Tell her to go and stand outside, then."
"She's all on her own, Doctor, and she did help."
"She left you down there," the Doctor accused.
"So did you." This shut her up.
"What are you talking about? We've got to leave," Adele asked confused.
"Plus, she's a bit pretty," the Doctor added.
"I hadn't noticed," he replied.
"On your head," she said regretfully as she unlocked the TARDIS and stepped in.
She walked over to the console and prepared for takeoff.
"What are you doing? She said cement. She wasn't joking. We're going to get sealed in. Doctor? What're you doing standing inside a box? Ross?"
"Oh, get in," the Doctor snapped.
This was going to be a long trip.

What Is This Feeling: Chapter 12
Fem!9th Doctor x Male!Rose Tyler
WITF Masterlist
The Doctor walked back into the alleyway after being laughed at by a crowd of drunks. She simply asked them if they had seen something fall from the sky recently. Then an air raid alarm went off. She had better find her human.
"Ross," she called out into the empty alleyway. Realizing she was alone, the Time Lord let out a huff. "You know, one day, just one day, maybe, I'm going to meet someone who gets the whole don't wander off thing. Nine hundred years of phone box travel, it's the only thing left to surprise me."
Suddenly a ringing filled the air near the TARDIS. The Doctor furrowed her eyebrows.
'That's not supposed to be ringing,' the Doctor thought as she approached the phone booth phone.
As she went to pick up the phone a voice from behind startled her causing her to also drop the sonic.
"Don't answer it! It's not for you."
The Doctor turned to see a young girl dressed in ragged clothes. Fear was seen in her brown eyes.
"And how do you know that?" The Time Lord questioned.
"Cos, I do. And I'm telling you, don't answer it," the girl warned.
"Well if you know so much, tell me this: How can it be ringing?" The Doctor picked up the receiver. "It's not even a real phone. It's not connected. It's not-" the Doctor paused when she turned back to the girl who was now gone. Her brows furrowed once more as she spoke into the phone.
"Hello? Hello? This is the Doctor speaking. How can I help you," she asked sarcastically to who she thought was no one?
"Mummy? Mummy," a child's voice answered.
"Who is this? Who's speaking," she asked even more confused. This was impossible!
"Are you my mummy," the child asked.
"Who is this," the Doctor asked more firmly.
"Mummy?"
"How did you ring here? This isn't a real phone. It's not wired up to anything."
"Mummy?"
Before the Doctor can respond once again the dial tone sounded. That was weird, and not the good kind. The Doctor knocked on the door of the time machine in hopes that is where Ross went.
"Ross? Ross, are you in here," she asked into the depths of the dark TARDIS. There was no response. That's when she heard a loud noise at the end of the alley. Instincts kicked in and she bolted towards the sound.
The Doctor followed to sound down the street. She noticed a family exiting the back of them home into the cellar to take shelter from the air raid. As they were leaving, she also noticed Nancy and a group of rugged looking children enter from the front. They must be scavenging for a meal. Perhaps she should join them.
As they started to get settled and still distracted the Time Lord slinked in and found an empty seat at the table. When Nancy finished carving the food slices of meat were being passed around. The kids each thanking Nancy politely for getting them this dinner.
"Thank you, Miss," One boy said.
"Thank you, Miss," Another said.
"Thank you, Miss."
"Thank you, Miss," the Doctor joined in with a grin.
The children gasped while panicking. Nancy tried to calm them.
"It's alright. Everyone stay where you are!" She instructed them.
"Good here, innit?" She smiled as she continued to fix herself a plate. "Who's got the salt?"
"Back in your seats, " Nancy informed them. "She shouldn't be here either."
"So," the Doctor started, "You lot, what's the story?"
"What do you mean," one of the boys asked, confused.
"You're homeless, right? Living Rough?" She asked nonchalant.
"Why do you want to know? Are you a copper?" Another boy questioned.
"Of course I'm not a copper! What's a copper going to do with you lot anyways? Arrest you for starving? I make it to 1941. You lot shouldn't even be in London! You should've been evacuated to the country by now."
"It's better on the streets! Nancy always finds us the best food," the children agreed.
"So that's what you do, Nancy," the Doctor said to the young woman.
"What is," she asked confused.
"As soon as the siren goes, you find a big fat family meal still warm on the table with everyone down in the air raid shelter and Bingo!" The Doc exclaimed. "Feeding frenzy for the homeless kids of London town. Puddings for all, as long as the bombs don't get you."
"Something wrong with that," Nancy bit back, ready for a fight.
"Wrong with it? It's brilliant," She laughed. "I'm not sure if it's Marxism in action or a West End Musical."
"Why'd you follow me," Nancy asked exasperated.
"I want to know what that phone rang when it wasn't hooked up," the Doctor jumped to the point.
"I did you a favor," she stated.
"Great, thanks," the alien said sarcastically. "And I want to find a blonde in a union jack. I mean a specific one. I didn't just wake up this morning with a craving." 'Liar,' her inner voice said. "Anyone see a man like that?"
Nancy grabbed the Doctor's place much to her protest.
"You took 2 slices. No blondes, no flags. Anything else before you leave," She bite off quickly.
"Actually yes." The Doc said as she got up from the table. "Anything fall from the sky? Probably about a month ago, but not a bomb! Wouldn't have exploded, and just buried itself into the ground. It would look something like this," The doctor pulled out a picture of what the ship looks like.
Suddenly a child voice sounded out. "Mummy?"
Chaos began, as scared kids quickly got up from the table and found an exit to escape to. The Doctor was trying to speak to the child, but Nancy stopped her. She claimed that if you're touched you become just like him. Nancy quickly made her exit as the Doctor opened the front door to find nothing.
After a short period of searching the Doctor found the kids at Nancy's hideout. She needed more information from Nancy if she was going to figure out what was going on. Thankfully, Nancy agreed to lead her to someone who could help. The Doctor. She internally groaned at the idea of having to meet another version of herself again. Reluctantly she venture on alone since Nancy refuse to enter. She told the Doctor that she lost her little brother during an air raid, and just couldn't handle what was waiting inside.
As she entered the ward she started to look around. She was shocked to find every bed occupied with a very still patient. After a quick scan of her sonic she realized that these things were human, but how was the gas mask fused to their face? It looked like her answer would come soon after discovering Doctor Constantine who was very sick and claimed to be dying. Much like the patients he seemed to somehow have head trauma, a collapsed chest, and a scar on the back of his hand. It was a domino affected. Only one victim was injured at first, then suddenly everyone he touched fell to the same injuries. The final phase is growing a gas mask which fuses to the face.
"You must find Nancy, again," Doctor Constantine choked. "It was her brother. She knows more than she's saying. She won't tell me, but she mi..migh…might…mummy? Are you my m-m-mummyyy," he cried as a gas mask grew from his mouth and fused to his face.
"Hello?" a voice came from the corridor.
The Doctor quickly stumbled into the corridor. She needed to warn these people to get out. Quickly turning around she bumped into a tall, handsome man. However, next to him was her beautiful human. She was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief knowing he was okay.
"Good evening," the unknown man said. "Hope we're not interrupting. Jack Harkness," he extended his hand while sending the alien a charming, flirtatious grin. Hesitantly the Doctor shook his hand. "I've been hearing all about you on the way over."
"He knows," Ross said to her. "I had to tell him about us being Time Agents."
"And it's a real pleasure to meet you, Miss Spock," Jack spoke again.
"Miss Spock," she asked amused as she looked at Ross.
"What was I supposed to say? You don't have a name! Don't you ever get tired of Doctor? Doctor Who?" Ross rambled on.
"9 centuries in, I'm coping," she said sarcastically. "Where have you been? We're in the middle of a London Blitz! It's not a good time for a stroll!"
"Who's strolling? I went by Barrage Balloon! Only way to see an air raid," he said smugly.
"What!?" She exclaimed.
Ross brushed her off, "So what's a Chula Warship?"
"Chula?" The Doctor was so confused. What the hell is going on? "What kind of Chula ship landed here?"
"What," Jack questioned, distracted.
"He said it was a warship," Ross injected. "He stole it, parked it somewhere out there, somewhere a bomb's going to fall on it unless we make him an offer."
The Doctor crossed her arms and stared hard at the new man. She did not get a good feeling from him or this situation. What kind of game was he playing at?
"What kind of warship," she questioned.
"What does it matter? It's got nothing to do with this," he said wildly as he gestured to the gas masked patients.
"This," the doctor pointed at the patients," started at the bomb site. It's got everything to do with it! What kind of warship?"
"An ambulance," Jack exclaimed. "Look!"
The man proceeded to project a holograph image from his wristband of the machine they had previously been following.
"It's what chased you through the time vortex. It's space junk! I wanted to kid you it was valuable. It's empty. I made sure of it! Nothing but a shell. I threw it at you. I saw your time travel vehicle, love the retro look, by the way, nice panels." The Doctor couldn't help but slightly smile proudly at that compliment. "I threw it to you as bait."
"Bait," Ross asked.
"I wanted to sell it to you, and then destroy it before you found out it was junk," Jack explained.
"You said it was a warship," Ross accused.
"They have ambulances in the war," Jack defended. "It was a con. I was conning you! That's what I am, a con man. I thought you two were Time Agents. You're not, are you?"
"Just a couple more freelancers," Ross told him smugly.
"Oh. I should have known," Jack shook his head in disbelief. "The way you guys were blending in with the local colour. I mean, Flag Boy was bad enough, but you, Biker Bitch?" He laughed. "Anyway, whatever's happening here has got nothing to do with that ship."
The Doctor started to pace while thinking. What could be happening here? How is it possible for this sickness to simply pass through touch and not be air born? How do the other victims also receive the same injuries as the first victim?
"Human DNA is being rewritten," She said offhandedly.
"What do you mean," Ross questioned.
"I don't know," the Doctor stopped pacing to look at him. "Some kind of virus converting human beings into these things. But why? What's the point?"
Suddenly all of the patients sat up in their beds and turned to look at them.
"What's going on," Ross asked creeped out.
"I don't know," the Doctor said slowly as she started to steer Ross behind her.
"Mummy," they said.
"Don't let them touch you!" The Doctor instructed as she led the men back.
"Mummy. Mummy. Mummy. Mummy."
This isn't good.

What Is This Feeling: Chapter 10
Fem!9th Doctor x Male!Rose Tyler
WITF Masterlist
"I still can't believe you brought us to a couple's retreat," Ross smirked staring out at the blue sea ahead of them.
It shimmered and shined in the afternoon's sunlight. The pair decided to take shore leave to Bora Bora in the thirty first century. It was a nice vacationing spot for both humans and aliens alike. They were currently relaxing on the beach, enjoying the breathtaking sight underneath their sun umbrella.
"S' not a couple retreat! There are families here as well," she took a sip of her banana daiquiri. "Besides, you're the one who said we needed a 'vacation'. Isn't everyday a vacation for us?"
"I meant a vacation from all the running and heroics. Don't get me wrong, I love it. I do! 'S just that my ankle still isn't fully healed from when I injured it during the witch hunt that was chasing us. S' still sore to run on," Ross explained.
"I told you that I have technology that could heal it instantly..."
"I know, but it should heal properly on its own. S' not like its life threatening. It'll be right as rain after a few days. 'Sides, I'm sure all this sun could be good for us. We're as pale as ghosts!" Ross laughed.
The Doctor smiled. She didn't mind this all too much. They've only been here for a day. A few more couldn't hurt, especially if it made her little human happy. And if she got to see that much of Ross's skin. He was currently leaning back in the lawn chair, one hand behind his head while the other rested against his bare stomach. He was beautiful.
"I'm just surprised you're not wearing your usual leather. That bathing suit is a nice change though," Ross smiled at her.
The Doctor turned her head away, hoping to hide her blush under her sunglasses. She didn't want Ross to see how much he affects her with any of his words. Her bathing suit was a black one piece with a pair of shorts on top. It was fairly modest compared to most of the other bathing suits they've seen on the beach that day.
"S' not like I had much of a choice between you and the TARDIS conspiring together against me! Sometimes I wonder if she likes you more than me some days," The Doctor shook her head. Ross just laughed.
After that they sat in comfortable silence. Until Ross slurped his drink indicating that it was empty. He began to sit up, and go to the bar to get another. The Time Lord gestured for him to stay.
"Allow me," She said as she got up. The Doctor grabbed his empty glass. "You need to stay off that ankle as much as possible if we want to be running around saving the world in a few days. Just relax. Doctor's orders," She gave him a wink before turning away and heading towards the bar.
Once she approached the bar she noticed the creature working behind it. They were a Junite from the planet Junifer. She was tall with purple skin that had Navy freckle- like spots peppering her body. Her eyes were intense. They were black with a bright yellow iris. They're species were so beautiful! They also knew how to throw one hell of a flower festival. Ross and her still needed to attend sometime.
The Junite was too busy addressing a worried human woman to pay any attention to her. This peaked the Doctor's interest due to the hysteria in the woman's voice.
"What should I do? Where should I go?! This resort isn't that big! Something must have happened to him," the woman explained.
"Ma'am, this would be a job for the security. If you go to the front desk and explain what happened then they will be able to help you," the bartender replied.
The human was on the verge of hyperventilating. The Doctor decided to step in.
"Sorry to intrude, but I'm the Doctor. I might be able to help. You just need to take a few deep breaths first," the Time Lord spoke.
The human followed her lead, took a few deep breaths, and began to calm down. "Very good. Right, now can you explain to me what has you so distraught," the Doctor asked.
"My son. He's disappeared. My husband, myself, our eldest daughter, and our son were all watching one of the beach performances that was going on. My eyes were off him for two minutes, tops! I looked back over to him and he was gone! He's old enough to know he's not supposed to take off alone. Someone must have taken him! We've search all over to no avail!" Tears began to run down her cheeks as she handed a photo of a boy maybe eight years old to the Doctor.
"Was there anything strange that happened before you realized his disappearance," she asked.
"Everything was normal. We were all having so much fun. I just want my little boy back," the human cried.
"What's your name," the Doctor asked.
"Suzette. Suzette Rinsky."
"Suzette Rinsky, I will do whatever I can to help you find your boy. However, you should still go and report this to the manager so we can have more than one person on the lookout," she gave the woman a reassuring smile. The Doctor was always a softie when it came to children. Maybe it was because of how many were on Gallifrey that day…
Suzette thanked her and began to retreat towards the main building.
"That was very kind of you," the Junite commented.
"I do try my best," the Doctor smiled.
"It's such a heartbreaking situation. He's the third one to go missing in the past two weeks," she said as she grabbed Ross's empty glass. "Would you like another?"
"Yes, thank you." The Doctor leaned forward against the bar. "What do you mean, the third one in the past two weeks?"
"I mean exactly as I say, miss. A couple went missing last week, and have yet to be found. They thought to have perhaps checked out early, however all of their items were still left in their room. No one has seen them since."
The Doctor nodded her head, trying to figure this weird coincidence out. "When was their disappearance noticed?"
"The morning after the bonfire celebration we held. I was working cocktail at that party, and specifically remember serving them at one point. They were thought to have left in the middle of the festivities."
"Where was this celebration held," she asked curiously.
"Right here on Pier beach," the Junite answered and passed the fresh drink to the Time Lord.
"If you notice anything else, let me know… what's your name?" the Doctor asked.
"Zamora," the Junite answered.
"Right then, Zamora. Let me know if you can remember anything else," the Doctor said quickly before grabbing the drink, and turning back to return to her companion.
This was no coincidence that both disappearance happened on this beach during some sort of busy festivity. Now the next question was where they went, and what could have taken them. The Doctor handed Ross his drink once she returned. She needed to make an excuse for her to sneak away and have a look around. She wanted Ross to relax and not stress out. Three missing people didn't seem too hard for her to solve on her own. Besides, Bora Bora couldn't be that large for them to hide.
"Did you get lost," he joked.
"Of course not. I was just informed that there was a problem with our room reservation, so I need to go to the main building and get things straightened out." Ross began to get up once more, but the Time Lord laid a hand on his naked shoulder. "No need to get up. I can handle this. You just stay here, soak up that vitamin D and drink your fruity drink I got you." The Doctor began to walk off, but turned around quickly. "Oh, and don't forget to keep reapplying your lotion. I don't want you burnt to a crisp by the time I get back." She tossed him a bottle of suntan lotion from her bigger on the inside pockets.
"I want you home by midnight, young lady! Do you hear me?" Ross teased her.
The Doctor smirked as she walked away. She decided to head back to their room to change into something more comfortable, and less revealing. She had a feeling that there was going to be some running involved on this adventure, so she needed her combat boots. Once she was changed, the Gallifreyan went off to scout the resort scanning everyone and everything with her sonic on the way.
She received a weird energy reading near an inclined forested area. She began her hike up while following the energy source that was on her sonic. The signal led her all the way up towards a cliff that over looked what seemed to be a secret waterfall draining into a large body of water. There was nothing out of the ordinary to her. Unless…
'Oh, I hope I'm right,' she thought as she back up a few feet before sprinting forward and jumping off the cliff. She free fell for a few seconds before plunging into the waters below. It took a few moments for the bubbles to clear, so she could get a good look at what was below the water.
'Maybe I should have kept that daft suit on if I was going to get this wet.'
Once the bubbles cleared she was able to see what was hiding under the water. Just as she had suspected, there was a rather large ship that reminded her of something you'd see on Star Trek. She swam down deeper to get a better look at the ship, and search for a way in. Under the belly of the ship was a hatch that must be how these creatures were able to get in and out with those missing people. The Doctor realized that she would need air soon, so she quickly took out her sonic and unlocked the hatch. She quickly climbed through and shut it after her. The water was quickly drained from the chamber.
The Doctor walked over to the door and soniced it open. She quickly started to sneak through the corridors looking for any clues as to who might own this ship, and where those missing people were. Just as she was rounding a corner the doors at the end of the corridor slid open and two Junite guards exited the room. The Time Lord quickly hid in a doorway around the corner that she had previously rounded. She waited until the two guards were out of sight to return to way she was going. She was definitely going to check out the room they had just exited. The Doctor slinked up towards the door and instantly unlocked it with her sonic.
'Clearly this is a Junite ship. Now the question is why is it hiding under water in Bora Bora and not on Junifer.' She thought to herself as she entered the room.
The lights instantly flicked on as her stepped inside. She was completely shocked at what she saw. There were rows and rows of holding cells that held all different kinds of species behind glass walls. As she walked along the corridor she saw that each cell was labeled with what species and planet they were from. Except these weren't holding cells. These were exhibits. This was a zoo! The Doctor walked on in disgust. How could the Junite's do this! They were usually a peaceful and reasonable people. They worshiped flowers for Rassilon sake!
The Doctor stopped as soon as she came across the human exhibit. "A normal human family from Earth" it read. Inside was the missing little boy, and what she assumed were to be the missing couple. She placed a hand on the glass encasement.
"I'm going to get you out. All of you," She said determined.
"I'm afraid that won't be happening, Doctor."
The Time Lord turned to see Zamora stand there with guards at her sides.
"What have you done? This is sick and inhumane! I thought your people were all about peace and flower power," The Doctor held up the peace sign to emphasize her point.
"Humans used to do this with animals on their own planet. They preserved them, and kept them in top shape to be viewed by the world. Now they can be viewed by the universe," Zamora explained.
"But why," The Doctor questioned.
"As of recent, our flowers have not been blooming. The ones that do bloom aren't as vibrant and lively as they used to be. Our festival has diminished, and no one comes to visit or celebrate anymore. We must find a new way to bring the people back. What better way than an exotic zoo? However, Doctor, we are no longer taking applications for female humans of your age. So, we won't be needing your services." She grabbed a golden headband tiara from a nearby solider. "We don't need you getting in our way."
Two guards grabbed her arms and held her as she struggled against them.
"We're just going to distract you until we've gotten our final specimen. Think of it like this… now you'll finally get to enjoy this 'couple's retreat' your companion often spoke of."
"What is that?" The Doctor raised her voice as Zamora approached her with the gold band. "No! Stop!"
The Doctor was knocked unconscious as soon as the band was placed tightly on her head. It wouldn't be coming off anytime soon.

What Is This Feeling: Chapter 6
Fem!9th Doctor x Male!Rose Tyler
WITF Masterlist
WARNING: The end of this chapter does contain some blood. It's not gruesomely detailed, but it is mentioned.
When the Doctor opened her eyes she was in a horrifyingly familiar place. The sky was a mixture of reds, oranges, and yellows. The clouds overcastting were a deep purple.
She quickly sat up. She was sitting in a meadow full of grasses and flowers. She looked to her left and saw the two suns setting in the distance behind the mountains. But that's not what made her breath catch, oh no. It was the sight of the Capital.
The Time Lord closed her eyes, and rubbed the palms of her hands into her eyes. Her head pounded. Something wasn't right. Didn't something horrible happen to Gallifrey? She couldn't quite remember. Every time she tried to recall her head would explode with pain. It was like her brain was fighting back against something.
"Theta?" she heard a voice ask.
She opened her eyes to see Ross crouching in front of her. Her eyes widened.
"Ross! What the hell are you doing here?" the Doctor quickly got to her feet, and began to take in the situation.
"Don't be so dim. You asked me to meet you here. We were going to have a picnic."
So many things were running through her head. She was getting light headed.
"What?"
"Theta, are you alright," Ross grabbed her waist as if to steady her. "Let me help you."
Once her mind began to clear, she pushed the boy away.
"What did you just call me?"
"Theta. That's your name," Ross spoke, confused.
Her hearts stopped. "How did you know that," she asked, quietly.
Ross wrapped his arms around her waist, and pulled her close.
"You told me," he informed her while brushing a piece of hair out of her face.
The Doctor was almost mesmerized by the action. He's never acted like this with her before. It was nice. If only this could happen more often.
Suddenly another wave of intense pain washed over her head. The jabs of pain increased. Something started to happen. Gallifrey and Ross disappeared. She was left in darkness. Then, as if she swam to the surface of a pool, she took a deep breath and opened her eyes.
Instantly, everything came back to her. She was lying on an examination table with a metal device strapped to her head. She was still in the lab.
"The female has awoken," a voice was heard off to her left.
Two creatures came into view. They were both yellow with green and white scaled patterns all over their bodies. The patterns seemed to be ones similar to a Monarch butterfly. The front of their face looked human, but slowly morphed back into fish fins. If they didn't seem a bit intimidating before, then their long sharp claws did it for you.
"Fairfreights," the Doctor grinned. "Fantastic! But aren't you-"
"Endangered. Yes," the female Fairfreight finished.
"What are you doing here? And why are you doing this?"
"Humans have a faster reproductive system then our species," She informed the Doctor.
"That doesn't mean you can go stealing humans and erasing their memories," the Doctor frowned. "Now release me."
"You of all people should know what it's like to be the last of your kind. We can make that pain go away. Did you not enjoy the dream we gave you?"
"Is that what you do? Violate someone's mind and create a dreamlike state to soothe and distract the brain while you drain their body of memories? Then you download yourself in their place?" Disgust dripped from her voice.
The Doctor slowly attempted to reach for her sonic in her pocket.
"A few humans are worth restoring our race."
She had to keep them talking while she attempted to grab her sonic.
"The children would be half human. You'll never have a pure bred race again after this," she pointed out.
"Soon after birth the children would be injected with a Fairfreight vaccination that'll rewrite their human genes to make them pure," the yellow alien informed her.
'Gotcha,' She thought as she grabbed her sonic.
The Doctor took out her sonic and released her restraints and head gear. She rolled off the table and pointed her screwdriver at the pair. They slowly started to back up.
"I don't think you'll be doing any of that. As of now, this project is cancelled."
"You can't do this! Our race will go extinct," they cried.
"Oh don't be so dramatic! You'll just have to take the slower route of reproducing. It's not the end of the world."
She continued to step forward, causing the yellow creatures to step back until they were in one of the few holding pods. The Time Lord soniced the door shut and locked it. Now they couldn't get in her way.
"Ross," she yelled as she ran over to his holding pod.
'Good. His memory is still intact then,' she internally gave a sigh of relief.
She opened the pod, and quickly eased Ross's limp body to the ground. She gently patted his cheeks.
"Wakey, wakey," she called to him.
He gave a soft groan as his eyes fluttered open.
"Doctor? What happened," he asked groggy.
The Doctor quickly got up from her crouched position and headed over to one of the computers.
"The human race getting manipulated by another species, and I had to once again save them," she told him.
In the computer, she began to set the ship's autopilot system for its return trip. Once it was set, she turned back to her companion.
"Right then, now we have to figure out how to return all of these memories."
"What about this button that says 'reverse'," Ross suggested with a grin.
She grinned back, "Fantastic!"
Once the button was pressed the blue liquid was released into the air. It gave off a beautiful light that illuminated the room. It quickly shot out of the ship, and returned it their original bodies.
The Doctor frowned when she noticed Jay's memories were still in its crystal container.
"Lift off in ninety second," the computer warned.
"I'll have to manually return his memories," she noted.
She quickly detached the ball and headed into the transmatt with Ross. They beamed back into the mansion with no problems. The hidden door silently slid open, and they stepped out. Everything was quiet, which was odd.
"Doctor, how long have we been gone," Ross asked when he looked out the window.
"Probably all night."
"The leaves wouldn't start to change colors over night," he commented.
"What," she looked out the window to see that Ross was right. "But how?"
Suddenly a gunshot could be heard in the distance, causing both of them to jump. Moments later a second gunshot was heard. They both looked at one another before running towards the pool area. The Doctor's hearts were racing fast.
She ran ahead of Ross. She burst through the back door and ran ahead. She must have been going too fast because she slipped on something and fell forward. The ball fell from her hand, cracked, and rolled into the pool. The pool that was slowly being tainted red.
She heard Ross give a gasp behind her. She looked down to see what she slipped on.
'Oh, god'
Blood. Some man shot himself in the head, and she slipped-
Ross was covered his mouth and turned away. The Doctor carefully got up, and took in the situation. This man must have shot whoever was in the pool, and then shot himself. She slowly walked over to the pool to see who the victim was.
'No.'
Even with the water turning red from the blood, she knew who it was.
"Jay," she said quietly.
She stepped away from the pool when she heard the sirens in the distance. The Doctor stepped over to Ross, took his hand, and led him back to the TARDIS. Once inside, they both remained quiet as they went off to get cleaned up. The Doctor's stomach churned when she had to wipe the blood off her legs.
She was greeted with a sad human sitting in his usual spot on the jump seat in the console room. He looked at the Doctor as she walked in.
"Gatsby got his memories back, even if he was dying," Ross said grimly.
The Doctor walked over and gave her pink and yellow human a hug. Ross thought the Doctor was trying to comfort him, when in reality; she was seeking comfort from him.
"I'm sorry you had to see that," she apologized quietly.
Death was truly her constant companion.

What Is This Feeling: Chapter 4
Fem!9th Doctor x Male! Rose Tyler
WITF Masterlist
The Doctor and Ross made their way back to the observation gallery. The Doctor went over to the panel on the wall and started to do scans.
"That wasn't a gravity pocket. I know gravity pockets and they don't feel like that." The Doctor turned to meet a tree. "What do you think, Jabe? Listen to the engines. They've pitched up about thirty Hertz. That dodgy or what?"
"It's the sound of metal. It doesn't make any sense to me," Jabe replied.
"Where's the engine room?"
"I don't know," he paused, "But the maintenance duct is just behind our guest suite. I could show you and your…husband."
"He's not my husband," she corrected quickly.
"Partner?"
"No."
"Concubinus?"
"Nope."
"Prostitute?"
Ross finally butt in, annoyed. "Whatever I am, it must be invisible. Do you mind?" He frowned. "Tell you what, you two go and pollinate. I'm going to catch up with family. Quick word with Michael Jackson," he referred to Cassandra.
"Don't start a fight," she warned. She turned and took Jabe's offered arm. "I'm all yours," she smiled.
"I want you home by midnight," Ross called after them.
The two aliens made their way into the maintenance duct. They conversed a little as they continued down the hall of wires. It seemed like it went on forever.
"So tell me, Jabe, what's a tree like you doing in a place like this," she asked.
"Respect for the Earth."Jabe gave a small smile. "Well, perhaps it's a case of having to be seen at the right occasion."
"In case your share prices drop?" She smiled back. "I know you lot. You've got massive forests everywhere, roots everywhere, and there's always money in land."
"All the same, we respect the Earth as family. So many species evolved from that planet. Mankind is only one. I'm another. My ancestors were transplanted from the planet down below, and I'm a direct descendent of the Tropical Rainforest."
"Excuse me," she pardoned herself as she took out her Sonic Screwdriver. The Doctor began to scan the door panel.
"And what about your ancestry, Doctor? Perhaps you could tell a story or two. Perhaps a woman only enjoys trouble when there's nothing else left. I scanned you earlier. The metal machine had trouble identifying your species. It refused to admit your existence."
The Doctor froze. Jabe knew who she was. He knew what happened. The pained Time Lord stared off, flashing back to that fateful day.
"Even when it named you, I wouldn't believe it. But it was right. I know where you're from. Forgive me for intruding, but it's remarkable that you even exist. I just wanted to say how sorry I am."
Jabe gently placed a hand on the Doctor's arm. She instinctively placed hers on top of his. A single tear dripped down her face. She quickly wiped the tear and opened the door to the engine room. The Doctor shook her head, ridding herself of the painful memories. They both stepped inside the engine room.
"Is it me, or is it a bit nippy?" The Doctor questioned while staring at the giant fans running at full blast. "Fair do's, though, that's a great bit of air conditioning. Sort of nice and old fashioned. Bet they call it retro," she laughed and turned from the giant fans. She then began to scan another panel on the wall.
"Gotcha," she said as she pulled off the panel cover. A metal spider-like creature scuttled out and up the nearest wall. "What the hell's that?"
"Is that part of the retro," Jabe questioned, innocently.
The leather clad alien aimed her screwdriver at the spider as Jabe lassoes it.
"Hey, nice liana," she complimented with a smile.
"Thank you. We're not supposed to show them in public."
"Don't worry, I won't tell anybody," the Doctor reassured. "Now then, who's been bringing their pets on board?"
"What does it do?"
"Sabotage."
"Earth death in ten minutes," the computer reminded.
"And the temperature's about to rocket. Come on," she led Jabe back out of the wire pathway, and back to the hallways. They both quickly made their way to the steward's office.
Once they were outside the office the Doctor noticed the smoke, and smell coming from within. The steward was dead.
"Hold on. Get back."
She soniced the door's panel, causing the sun filter to rise.
"Is the steward in there," asked Jabe.
"You can smell him. Hold on, there's another sun filter programmed to descend."
She quickly ran off, following the signal. She hoped no one was in the room. She soon found the room with the descending filter. The Doctor started to work on raising it as fast as she could.
"Anyone in there," she called out.
"Open the door," she heard Ross yell from within. She rolled her eyes, not even surprised.
"Oh, well, it would be you. Hold on. Give us two ticks." She spoke as she continued to work.
"Sun filter rising," the computer announced.
Ross and the Doctor both began to relax.
"Sun filter descending," the computer announced once more.
"Just what we need," the Doctor said, annoyed. "The computer's getting clever."
"Stop mucking about," Ross yelled.
The Doctor began to stress out. "I'm not mucking about. It's fighting back."
After a few nail-biting seconds the Doctor finally got the filter to rise, and stay up.
"The whole door's jammed. I can't open it. Stay there!" She told him before heading off towards the observation gallery.
The Doctor walked inside the gallery as Jabe was giving everyone a briefing. She took the spider from Jabe, and inspected it once more.
"I'm afraid the steward is dead," Jabe informed them.
"Who killed him," The Moxx of Balhoon asked.
"The whole event was sponsored by the Face of Boe. He invited us. Talk to the Face. Talk to the Face," Cassandra said.
"Easy way of finding out. Someone brought their little pet on board. Let's send him back to master."
She set the spider on the ground. It scuffled off towards Cassandra, scanned her, and then moved on. It then moved onto the black gowned group.
"The Adherents of the Repeated Meme. J'accuse," Cassandra accused.
"That's all very well, and really kind of obvious, but if you think about it…" The Doctor moved towards the group. The leader swung its arm at her. She caught it, and ripped it out. "A Repeated Meme is just an idea. And that's all they are, an idea."
She pulled the main control wire from the arm. All of the Adherents fell to the floor.
"Remote controlled Droids. Nice little cover for the real troublemaker. Go on, Jimbo," she nudged the spider. "Go home."
The spider quickly scuffled off to Cassandra.
"I bet you were the school swot and never got kissed. At arms," Cassandra commanded. Her attendants raised their spray guns.
"What are you gonna do, moisturize me," she asked sarcastically.
"With acid. Oh, you're too late. My spiders have control of the mainframe. Oh, you all carried them as gifts; tax free, past every code wall. I'm not just a pretty face," Cassandra smiled.
"Sabotaging the ship when you're still on it? How stupid's that?" The Doctor crossed her arms.
"I'd hoped to manufacture a hostage situation with myself as one of the victims. The compensation would have been enormous."
"Five billion years and it still comes down to money," the Doctor was astonished at the selfishness of humans.
"You're just as useful dead, all of you. I have shares in your rival companies and they'll tripe in price as soon as you're dead. My spiders are primed and ready to destroy the safety systems. How did that old Earth song go? Burn, baby, burn."
The space station shook as the spiders were activated. The force fields suddenly disappeared. They were vulnerable.
"Bye, bye, darlings," Cassandra smirked before she and her attendants beamed out.
The heat levels began to rise.
"We have to reset the computer by hand. There must be a system restore switch. Jabe, come on. You lot, just chill," she told them as she exited the gallery.
The Doctor and Jabe sped to the engine room. They only had two minutes to restore the system. No pressure. Once inside, the Doctor quickly searched for the switch. She spotted it behind the three giant fans.
"Oh, and guess where the switch is."
The Doctor pulled a breaker lever and the fans began to slow a bit. As soon as she let go and stepped away the fans reset their speed. Jabe grabbed the lever and held it down.
"You can't. The heat's going to vent through this place," the Time Lord protested.
"I know," the tree told her.
"Jabe, you're made of wood."
"Then stop wasting time, Time Lady," Jabe used the correct gender term of her race. The Doctor grinned, and nodded.
She made it passed the first fan easily. Once at the second fan she looked back at Jabe. He was still okay. They could do this! She turned back to the fan. Timing it perfectly, the Doctor ran through. When she reached the third fan a cry of pain was heard behind her. She turned to look. Jabe had combusted, and was burning alive.
'No!'
She couldn't help him. It killed her. The Doctor had to keep going. Jabe's death wouldn't be meaningless. It'll be harder to get through the last fan since they were back on full blast.
The fans were going faster than expected. The only way she could get through is if she slowed down time. It was something they were taught to do in the Academy. It wasn't easy. It took lots of concentration.
She closed her eyes and steadied her hearts. Her entire body needed to be calm. She breathed slowly and focused. In her mind everything started to slow down. The fans were at a crawling pace. Holding her breath, she stepped through.
Once she realized that it worked, her eyes flew open. She bolted forward and pulled down the breaker.
"Raise shields"
The Shields raised just in time as the Earth exploded. Once her adrenaline slowed down, she decided to return to everyone. The Doctor walked back under the fans. She stopped and stared sadly at the ashes of Jabe. No matter how many companions she had, there will always be one constant one: Death. She turned away, and strode back to the main gallery.
When she stepped inside, she saw some members mourning their loss. Seeing Ross also lifted a weight off her shoulders. However, first thing she needed to do was inform Lute and Coffa. She stepped over to them and placed a hand on both of their shoulders.
"Jabe is dead," she spoke softly. "He died a hero. Make sure he has an honoured ceremony once you return home. I'm so sorry." She turned and stepped away to let them mourn in private.
"You alright," Ross asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm full of ideas, I'm bristling with them. "She spoke angrily. "Idea number one, teleportation through five thousand degrees needs some kind of feed. Idea number two, this feed must be hidden nearby."
The Doctor walked over to the displayed Ostrich egg. She smashed it to reveal a small device.
"Idea number three, if you're as clever as me, then a teleportation feed can be reversed." The Doctor reversed the device. Cassandra beamed back in.
"Oh," she said, shocked.
"The last human," The Doctor growled, very cross.
"So, you passed my little test. Bravo. This makes you eligible to join, er, the human club," Cassandra lied.
"People have died, Cassandra. You murdered them."
"It depends on your definition of people, and that's enough of a technicality to keep your lawyers dizzy for centuries. Take me to court, the Doctor, and watch me smile and cry and flutter," Cassandra began to creak.
"And creak," asked the Doctor.
"And what?" Cassandra spoke, confused.
"Creak. You're creaking."
"What? Ah! I'm drying out! Oh, sweet heavens. Moisturize me, moisturize me! Where are my surgeons? My lovely boys! It's too hot," Cassandra cried out.
"You raised the temperature," the Doctor spoke coldly.
"Have pity! Moisturize me! Oh, oh, Doctor. I'm sorry. I'll do anything," she begged.
"Help her," Ross said, sympathetically.
"Everything has its time and everything dies," She said stone cold.
"I'm too young," Cassandra cried before exploding.
Without a second glance, the Doctor left the room. She needed pace to calm down. She didn't return until everyone was gone. When she walked back into the gallery she saw Ross staring out where the Earth once was.
"The end of the Earth. It's gone. We were too busy saving ourselves. No one saw it go. All those years, all that history, and no one was even looking. It's just-" he stopped himself.
The Doctor knew just what to do. She gently took his hand. "Come with me."
The both silently held hands as they walked back to the TARDIS. When they were inside, Ross sat on the jumper seat, defeated. The Doctor moved around the console returning them to London. When they landed, the two stepped out into a crowd of people.
"You think it'll last forever, people and cars and concrete, but it won't. One day it's all gone. Even the sky." The Doctor took a deep breath. She was going to tell him. "My planet's gone. It's dead. It burned like the Earth. It's just rocks and dust before it's time."
"What happened?"
She looked at him with sad eyes. "There was a war, and we lost."
"A war with who?" The Doctor stayed silent. "What about your people," Ross went on.
"I'm a Time Lord… well, Time Lady. I'm the last of the Time Lords. They're all gone. I'm the only survivor. I'm left travelling on my own 'cos there's no one else."
"There's me," Ross told her.
"You've seen how dangerous it is. Do you want to go home," she asked, waiting for him to confirm her fear.
"I don't know. I want…" he paused, and sniffed the air. "Oh, can you smell chips?"
The Doctor laughed, "Yeah."
"I want chips," he smiled.
"Me, too," she grinned.
"Right then, before you get me back in that box, chips it is! My treat. We've only got five billion years till the shops close."
They grinned at each other before Ross grabbed the Doctor's hand, and led her towards the glorious smell of chips.

What Is This Feeling: Chapter 5
Fem!9th Doctor x Male!Rose Tyler
WITF Masterlist
In the TARDIS there is no sense of time. Ross, however, was still accustomed to Earth Time. He needed to go bed at Earth's night, and got up at Earth's morning. It's been quite some time these two have been traveling together. One year, according to the last time they went to Earth. That was quite an adventure. Jackie nailed the Doctor in the face after she found out that some alien stole her son away for an entire twelve months.
On top of that, Earth was invaded be the Slitheen family from the planet Raxacoricofallapatorius. The Doctor, Ross, and the help of Harriet Jones, blew up Downing Street. The Slitheen were destroyed and the world was saved, again.
Being through so much together you'd figure the Doctor would be used to Ross's human schedule by now. Yet, she was not. It annoyed her that this human needed so much sleep.
She was tinkering away below the grating in the console room to pass the time. Her eyes would keep wandering down to her wrist watch. Time Lords don't need as much sleep as humans do. She spent most of her time bored while Ross was in dreamland.
Finally losing her concentration, the Doctor decided to go make some tea. This seemed to be their routine. The Doctor would waste time during the night to fill her boredom. When she got frustrated she'd leave to make some tea, and a little breakfast. Ross usually awakens are this time.
By the time Ross woke up the Doctor had a fresh batch of Banana-Nut muffins and a warm cup of tea waiting at his usual spot. The Doctor glanced up from her book as the human entered the kitchen. A smile grew on her face. His blonde hair was a class 'A' bed head. His eyes were half lidded and still matted with sleep sand. He looked adorable.
"Good morning," she greeted as she went back to her book.
"Morning," he replied before sitting down and beginning his muffin graze.
Comfortable silence fell between them. Ross ate and drank while the Doctor continued to read The Hobbit. Once he was fully awake, Ross spoke up.
"You know, for someone who hates being 'domestic' you sure like to make breakfast every morning."
"It's not being domestic," she protested. "It's called being bored while you sleep your life away."
"Mhmm," he smiled as he continued to eat.
More silence ensued. That was, until the ringing of a phone echoed out. It wasn't Ross's mobile. It was an old fashioned one. That was either one of two people. Winston Churchill or… She quickly made her way to the console room. Ross followed behind her. She quickly approached the old fashioned phone attached to the console along with many other things. She picked the phone up and answered.
"'Ello?"
"Is this the Doctor," a clear, proper, American accent came through.
"This is she. Might I ask who's speaking," she knew who it was. She just enjoyed getting a rouse out of the man.
"It's Gatsby."
"Gatsby," she smiled. "What Gatsby?"
"It's Jay Gatsby, from New-"
"I'm just mucking about," the Doctor smiled
A soft laugh was heard from the other side.
"Right."
"It's been a while," she commented.
"To long in my opinion. In fact, that's why I called. I wanted to personally invite you to my party," Jay spoke confidentially.
"Tonight?" she asked.
"If you could make it," he said.
"I always make it whenever you invite me," her eyes wandered over to Ross who was patiently sitting on the jumper. "Do you mind if I bring a plus one?"
"Of course. Although the last time you were here you I don't remember you being committed," the Doctor was about to interrupt, but Jay quickly went on. "None of the less, I'd be happy to meet the old sport."
Jay went silent.
"Is there something you're not telling me," she questioned.
"Yes. There is something I need to speak with you about. However, I'd much rather do it in person rather than over the telephone."
"Okay," She said slowly.
"I'll see you tonight, then."
"Tra."
They hung up. She turned toward her companion, and grinned.
"So, Ross Tyler, how's about a trip to the 1920's sound?"
"Sounds amazing, but who was on the phone?"
"We were just invited to one of the biggest parties New York has seen. It just so happens to be in the wonderful roaring '20's."
"Tonight?" he asked excited.
"Yup! So you best get dressed. You remember where the wardrobe room is, yeah?"
"Yeah," he began to leave the room when he noticed the Doctor wasn't going to follow. "Aren't you going to change?"
"I wasn't planning on it," She informed him.
"Well you can't go like that. You look like a… biker girl."
"Oi!"
The TARDIS hummed, agreeing with Ross.
"Whose side are you on?!"
The ship hummed once more, encouraging her to change.
"Fine," she sighed, giving in.
The Doctor walked with Ross in the direction of the wardrobe. She kept moving forward once Ross entered the public costume room. She, however, had her own personal room for this. It's where she decides her signature outfit for each regeneration.
She stepped inside the Time Lord sized closet. It was massive. Most females would kill for a closet this size. The Doctor walked forward onto the platform in the center of the wardrobe. Spiral racks of many different clothes reached from the ground to ceiling.
A dress was already selected and placed on the lounge couch. The TARDIS must have picked it out for her. Trusting in her old friend's decision, she put the dress on. It was a spaghetti strapped, mid-thigh dress. The tassels on the dress hung down to her knees. The top of the dress was silver. It faded to gold at her mid-section. That then faded down to a brown shade. The best part of the dress was that it had hidden pockets for her to hold her sonic screwdriver and other various items.
She put on a pair of short heeled silver shoes. They were perfect for dancing, even though she would refuse to. Nothing could really be done with her hair, so she just put a diamond headband across her forehead. And much to her dismay, she ended up putting some make-up on.
Once the TARDIS was satisfied with her friend, she released the Time Lord back into the halls. The Doctor made her way back to the console room. She was met by an incredibly handsome Ross wearing a tuxedo. His eyes widened at the sight of her.
"Wow, you look… stunning," Ross said breathless.
The Doctor flushed red. "You look very handsome. Well, considering…" She trailed off.
"Considering what?"
"That you're human."
She stepped down and started to command the controls. They were in the '20's in no time. She parked the TARDIS in the gardens, and turned to Ross.
"Ready to go," she asked.
"As I'll ever be," he smiled and offered her his arm.
She gladly took it. They stepped out together. The music was surprisingly very loud. They walked together out of the garden, past the pool and bar and entered the mansion. People were everywhere. It was the height of the party. Glitter and confetti rained down on top of them. The Doctor grabbed two glasses of champagne from a waiter. She past a glass to Ross, who was staring at everything in awe.
"This is incredible," he spoke.
She smiled and sipped on her drink.
"Care for a dance," he asked.
"Oh no. I don't dance," she informed him.
"Who doesn't know how to dance," he accused.
"I never said I didn't know how to. I said that I 'DON'T' dance."
She then noticed a brunette girl smiling at Ross. A pang of jealousy hit her. She hid it though.
"Besides, it seems that you might have a volunteer," she gestured to the girl.
"But-"
"Go have fun," she encouraged. "I have something's that need to be taken care of."
"If you're sure..."
"I am. Go on," she smiled.
Ross gave her a sad look before turning towards the girl. The Doctor stepped away and began up a staircase. She tried to weave through the people, but ended up bumping into a man.
"I'm sorry," he began. "This may seem like an odd question, but have you seen the host, Mr. Gatsby?"
"I have not, but I'll be sure to send him your way…?" she trailed off.
"Nick Carraway," he smiled and shook her hand.
"I'm the Doctor."
"A female doctor. You don't see too many of those," he commented.
"Well it was a pleasure, Mr. Carraway."
She continued up the stairs. She walked over to the railing and searched the crowd below. Ross was instantly spotted. He looked like he was having a blast with the girl. She had the urge to do down and butt in.
Why was she feeling this way? He was just her companion. Nothing more. But what is this feeling? She wasn't starting to develop feelings for him, was she? No, they were simply friends.
The Doctor felt hot breath against her ear. "A lady should never be at a party alone."
"I brought my plus one, Mr. Gatsby," She smirked.
"Where is the old sport?"
"He's down enjoying your party," She took another sip of her champagne. "So, what was it you wanted to talk with me about?"
"Let's speak about this in private," he said and guided her away from the party.
He led her to his study. It was a cluttered mess. Books and papers were everywhere. She took a seat in the vinyl chair and set her drink down on the desk.
"Tell me your troubles," she leaned back, and got comfortable.
Gatsby began to pace.
"This may sound a bit mad," he began.
'Believe me, I've probably heard worse,' she thought.
"Over the last few months I have been slowly losing my memories. The oldest things I can remember were about a few weeks before the war. Right around the time I met Daisy Fay. I can't seem to recall my childhood at all."
She let this fact roll around in her head for a moment.
"I thought it would be appropriate to contact you. The last time we met you said that you were a doctor who specialized in odd situations."
"I am," she said absentmindedly.
What could this be? Possibly Alzheimer's? No, this had to be something else.
"Has anything else seemed not quite right?" she asked.
"Well," he started. "I've been feeling drained both physically and mentally."
"Hmm," the Doctor continued to think.
These symptoms seemed like any normal human disease. However, something still seemed off. It was like she could feel a burst of energy coming from somewhere in the mansion. Ross and she will have to check it out.
"Do you mind if I have a look around," she asked while standing up.
"Be my guest. If you'll excuse me, I have to meeting to get to," he took her hand and placed a kiss on it before exiting the room.
The Doctor noticed a dial phone on the desk. She picked up the receiver of the phone and dialed Ross's number. It rang for a long time before he finally picked up. The music was blaring in the background, which caused Ross to yell into the phone.
"'Ello," he said loudly.
"Ross, I need you to meet me at the balcony overlooking the dance floor," she informed him.
"Okay. Did you find something," he asked.
"Not yet," she said while taking out her screwdriver from her secret pocket. "We're going to have a look around though."
Once they hung up the phone the two met by the balcony. The Doctor began to change the setting on her sonic. It was now set to scan.
"What did you find out?" Ross asked.
"Mr. Gatsby is beginning to have some memory loss. He didn't mention having any head trauma."
She began to scan the area. She paused. That's strange. She was getting a reading of high energy from deep within the mansion. The Doctor followed the signal with Ross following beside her. They were led into a very large bedroom.
"The signal is coming from over here," she scanned a wall behind the bed.
She placed the sonic back into her pocket. How does this thing open? She ran her hands over the wall, only to find nothing. She then spied a painting on the wall and got an idea. The Time Lord grinned.
'Fantastic!'
"Ross, how good is your American history," she asked.
"Okay, I guess," he said awkwardly.
"If you lived in America in 1922, where would you hide the switch to open the door to your speakeasy?" she grinned, waiting for him to figure it out.
He was quiet for a second while he thought. His eyes searched the wall. He began to smile when his eyes fell upon the painting.
"Behind a painting," he exclaimed.
The Doctor grabbed the painting and placed it on the floor. On the wall was a switch. The Doctor flipped it up, and the wall slid to the side. Her eyes widened when she saw what was behind it.
"This must be what was giving off the energy reading."
"What is it," Ross asked curiously.
"It's a transmatt beam," she stepped inside along with Ross. "But where does it go?"
She pressed the red button. She could never resist. The pair was suddenly beamed up into a ship. The Doctor stepped out. They were in, what seemed to be, a lab. She began to look around. It was like a classic mad scientist's laboratory.
"Doctor, you might want to see this," Ross called her over.
She walked over to find an entire wall full of what looked like crystal balls. Something light blue was swirling in each one. Below every crystal was a name.
Furrowing her brows, she took out her sonic and scanned one. When the readings were finished she was shocked with what she found. She placed the sonic back in her pocket.
"These are memories. Whoever these people are, they're stealing memories," she paused.
What if they were caught while they were here? She could easily block an intruder even if she was in a regenerative sleep. But Ross couldn't, and the Doctor doesn't want to have the hassle of restoring his memories.
"Ross, if they are stealing memories, then we are both at risk. I know how to keep people out of my mind. So I'm going to give you a quick lesson on how to do the same. It's easy."
"How do you do that," Ross frowned.
"It's a part of your mind that most humans can't get to. I'll have to guide you to it, if you'll let me," she spoke that last part softly.
"Of course I'll let you," Ross said quickly.
"This is a very intimate action. I'll be inside your mind," she warned him.
"Let's do it. I don't want to lose my memories," Ross spoke, determined.
The Doctor nodded, and placed her finger tips on the connecting points on his face.
"It's like a mind-meld that Mr. Spock does in Star Trek," she tried to explain.
She concentrated as she expanded her mind into her companion's. She was suddenly hit with confusion and… comfort? Those weren't her emotions. Those were Ross's.
'Ross, can you hear me?'
'Yes. What's going on?'
'I'm in your mind. Just follow my consciousness. I'll lead you towards the hippocampus.'
She began to guide him through his mind. She tried not to look at things that were personal. She moved slowly so her pink and yellow human could keep up. They finally made their way to the heart of the memory storage.
'Okay. I'm going to choose a memory at random. I want you to try and push me out. Completely out of your mind. Just imagine a door slamming shut and locking.'
As she informed him she stepped into one of his memories. The scene was set outside of Ross's apartment building. It was snowing out. Ross was returning home. She noticed a short woman with long brown hair. She was wearing a dress that was brown and pinstriped. She had a tan overcoat on as well. Her shoes were cream colored converse. She looked as if she was in pain. The Doctor instantly spotted the TARDIS in the distance.
"Are you alright, love?" she heard younger Ross ask the woman.
"Yeah."
"To much to drink?" he smiled.
"Something like that."
"Maybe it's time you went home," he suggested.
"Yeah."
"Anyway, Happy New Year," he told her with a grin.
"And you. What year is this," she asked.
"Blimey, how much have you had? 2005, January the first."
"2005. Tell you what. I bet you're going to have a really great year," she told him.
"Yeah? See-"
She was suddenly pushed out of Ross's mind. She was so engrossed in the memory that this took her by surprise. She dropped her hands from his face, and opened her eyes. She grinned at him.
"Brilliant! A little slow, but that's to be expected of a first timer."
"It wasn't as hard as I thought," Ross grinned.
The Doctor noticed something off to the side of the lab. She walked over to investigate. One of the crystals was placed on a pedestal-like machine. The computer next to the machine had a bunch of data and information on it.
Name: James (Jay) Gatz (Gatsby)
Age: 32
Species: Human
Breeding Notes: Body is healthy. Fully capable. Good gene pool.
Drainage: 26%
The Doctor stared at the screen reading through the information. The 'drainage' must be the memory. But what does 'breeding notes' have to do with anything?
"Oh," the Doctor grinned. "I get it now."
"Get what?" Ross asked.
"These, whoever they are, are erasing people's memories leaving the body mindless. An empty hard drive. The body will then be used for some type of breeding. But why?"
"Doctor!" Ross cried out.
The Doctor turned around only to get a needle driven into her neck. Her eyelids began to droop as she was hit with drowsiness. Everything went to black.

What Is This Feeling: Chapter 2
Fem!9th Doctor x Male!Rose Tyler

Back in the TARDIS, the Doctor was frowning at the screen. This was not good. The signal was getting stronger, meaning the plastics were as well. Good thing the Doctor made a portable device to track down the signal. The Gallifreyan stepped out of the blue box and was on her way.
She was lead towards a housing complex. The signal was very strong here. The Doctor was about to approach the plastic bin when a girl popped out of it. The girl walked over to the yellow buggie and got inside. She was definitely plastic. The Doctor was about to approach the plastic when Ross stepped out of the house. He started to walk towards the yellow buggie. The Doctor quickly hid out of sight. This boy is extremely danger prone. This handsome pink and yellow human seemed to need her help constantly.
"Handsome?" She quietly questioned herself. When did she start to think of him as attractive?
The buggie drove by her. A growl rumbled in her throat. Her distraction let the plastic get away, and with Ross! The plastic tracker was out in a matter of seconds. She quickly followed the signal again.
The Time Lord soon found the buggie once more. It was parked outside the little café she left the TARDIS behind earlier. She put the tracker away, and stepped inside. Casually looking around she finally spotted Ross sitting at a table with the plastic girl across from him. The Doctor quickly grabbed an unopened bottle of champagne off a table, unnoticed. She headed towards their table.
"Your champagne," she offered the bottle, waiting to be noticed.
"We didn't order any champagne. Where's the Doctor," the plastic demanded.
The Doctor frowned and turned towards Ross.
"Sir, your champagne," she offered again.
"It's not ours. Mickey, what is it? What's wrong," Ross asked this girl.
He cared for her, or at least this image of the girl and not the plastic. They must be in a relationship. The Doctor felt a little pang of jealousy.
'Stop.' She internally yelled at herself.
"Doesn't anybody want this champagne?"
"Look, we didn't order it," The plastic finally looked up to see the Doctor. "Ah, gotcha," the plastic smiled.
The Doctor started to shake the bottle vigorously. "Don't mind me. I'm just toasting the happy couple. On the house!" She yelled as the cork was released. It flew and stuck in the plastic's forehead.
Slowly the cork was absorbed into her forehead. She soon spit it out of her mouth. Ross looked horrified.
"Anyway," the plastic began to get up, and turned its hand into a chopper.
Ross let out a surprised yell, and fled as plastic Mickey busted the table. The Doctor grabbed the Auton's head, and pulled it off. The other customers saw this, and began to panic. All hell broke loose.
"Don't think that's going to stop me," the head spoke to the Doctor.
The plastic's body got up, and started to flail around. Ross, being the genius that he was, set off the fire alarm. This would allow the customers to escape.
"Everyone out! Out now! Get out! Get out! Get out!" Ross yelled.
The Doctor then led Ross through the kitchen. The head tried to bite the Doctor.
"Oi! Stop that!"
The body of the head wrecked the restaurant before following them to the back exit. The Doctor quickly sealed the exit shut while Ross ran down the alley, past the TARDIS. The Doctor found it ironic that she parked it there earlier in the day. Ross was panicked when he found a padlock on the exit gates.
"Open the gate! Use that tube thing. Come on!"
"Sonic screwdriver," she corrected him.
"Use it," he frantically yelled.
The Doctor casually walked over toward the TARDIS.
"Nah. Tell you what, let's go in here."
The Doctor unlocked the police box, and went inside. The Auton hammered on the metal door, making large dents.
"You can't hide inside a wooden box. It's going to get us! Doctor," Ross yelled.
He tried the gate again. The blonde finally gave up on the gate. He ran into the TARDIS. Ross paused, and stared wide eyed around the console room. He quickly ran out. The human was probably trying to figure out the 'bigger on the inside' concept. The boy finally ran back inside.
"It's going to follow us," he panicked.
The Doctor rushed around the console, pressing buttons and pulling knobs. "The assembled hoards of Genghis Khan couldn't get through that door, and believe me, they've tried. Now shut up a minute."
The Doctor set the head on the console panel, and started to attach wires to it. If she could set up a connection, then she could get to the main signal!
"You see, the arm was too simple, but the head is perfect! I can use it to trace the signal back to the original source." The Doctor turned to the confused human. "Right. Where do you want to start?"
"Um… The inside's bigger than the outside…?" Ross spoke hesitantly.
"Yes."
"'s alien."
"Yeah."
"Are you alien?"
"Yes… Is that alright?" The Doctor prepared herself for a scream and rejection from the boy.
"Yeah."
'Thank Rassilon! I'm no good with emotional situations.' She thought to herself.
"It's called the TARDIS, this thing. T. A. R. D. I. S. That's Time And Relative Dimension In Space."
Ross looked ready to burst into tears.
'Please don't cry! Please don't cry!'
"That's okay. Cultural Shock. Happens to the best of us," she spoke awkwardly. She really wasn't good with the whole 'emotions' thing.
"Did they kill her? Mickey? Did they kill Mickey? Is she dead," Ross asked concerned.
The Doctor furrowed her eyebrows. "Oh, didn't think of that."
"She's my girlfriend. You pulled off her head. They copied her and you didn't even think?" He then wildly gestured to the console panel. "And now you're just going to let her melt?"
"Melt?" The Doctor turned to look and gasped.
"Oh no! No, no, no, no!"
She ran over to the console fast, and set the TARDIS in motion. She needed to follow that signal!
"What are you doing?"
"Following the signal. It's fading! Wait a minute," she quickly latched onto the fading signal. "I've got it!" The signal started to fade quicker and was almost gone. "No, no, no, no, no, no, no! Almost there. Almost there. Here we go!"
The TARDIS landed, and the Doctor bolted out the door.
"You can't go out there! It's not safe," Ross yelled behind the Doctor.
The night time breeze blew through the Doctor's hair. She frowned deeply.
"I lost the signal. I got so close!"
"We've moved. Does it fly?"
"Disappears there and reappears here. You wouldn't understand." She was frustrated with the situation.
"If we're somewhere else, what about the headless thing? It's still on the loose."
The Doctor began to stress out.
"It melted with the head. Are you going to witter on all night," she questioned bitterly.
There was a short pause before Ross quietly spoke up, almost heartbroken.
"I'll have to tell her mother. Mickey. I'll have to tell her mother she's dead, and you just went and forgot her, again! You were right, you are alien."
The Doctor faced Ross now. She was getting very cross.
"Look, if I did forget some kid called Mickey-"
"She's not a kid!"
"It's because I'm trying to save the life of every stupid ape blundering on top of this planet, all right!"
Selfish. That's what these humans are. Ungrateful for the acts of heroicness she does. She risks her life countless times, and all they care about are themselves.
"If you're an alien, how comes you sound like you're from the North?"
"Lots of planets have a North." She was starting to calm down.
"What's a 'police public call box'?"
"It's a telephone box from the 1950's. It's a disguise."
"Okay. And this, this living plastic. What's it got against us?"
"Nothing. It loves you. You've got such a good planet. Lots of smoke and oil, plenty of toxins and dioxins in the air, perfect. Just what the Nestene Consciousness needs. Its food stock was destroyed in the war, all its protein plants rotted, so Earth, dinner!" She made an eating motion.
"Any way of stopping it?"
The Doctor grinned, before taking out a tube filled with blue liquid.
"Anti-plastic."
"Anti-plastic?"
"Anti-plastic! But first I've got to find it. How can you hide something that big in a city this small?"
"Hold on. Hide what?" Ross asked.
"The transmitter. The consciousness is controlling every single piece of plastic, so it needs a transmitter to boost the signal."
"What's it look like?"
"Like a transmitter. Round and massive, slap bang in the middle of London."
Ross stared behind the Doctor, but she didn't notice.
"A huge circular metal structure like a dish, like a wheel. Radial. Close to where we're standing. Must be completely invisible!"
Ross kept gesturing towards the Eye.
"What?" The Doctor looked around confused. She finally saw the Eye and caught on.
"Oh. Fantastic!"
The Doctor then began to bolt across the Westminster Bridge. Ross was running right next to her. She grinned and held out her hand to him. He took it. They both ran together hand-in-hand down to the Eye.
"Think of it, plastic all over the world, every artificial thing waiting to come alive. The shop window dummies, the phones, the wires, the cables-"
"The breast implants," Ross added in.
"Still, we've found the transmitter. The consciousness must be somewhere underneath."
Ross took off out of the Doctor's sight.
"What about down there," Ross calls.
The Doctor went over to investigate. She ended up finding a manhole. She grinned.
"Looks good to me!"
They ran down the parapet's steps. The Doctor opened up the hatch to find a red glow from below. She began down the latter. Once down, she cautiously opened the door. Inside was, to no surprise, the consciousness.
'Ross is fantastic! I might have to keep him around.'
"The Nestene Consciousness," She pointed to the vat. "That's it, inside the vat. A living plastic creature."
"Well then, tip in your anti-plastic and let's go," Ross said, a bit unnerved.
The Doctor frowned, before heading down the stairs.
"I'm not here to kill it. I've got to give it a chance."
She walked down to a catwalk overlooking the vat.
"I seek audience with the Nestene Consciousness under peaceful contract according to convention fifteen of the Shadow Proclamation."
The vat of plastic started to flex. It approved of her request.
"Thank you. If I might have permission to approach?"
The Doctor noticed Ross run straight to Mickey with worry. She just rolled her eyes at them.
"Oh god! Mickey, it's me! It's okay, it's all right."
"That thing down there, the liquid. Ross, it can talk!" Mickey was practically shaking from fright.
"Doctor, they kept her alive!"
"Yeah, that was always a possibility. Keep her alive to maintain the copy," she informed him.
"You knew that and you never said," he asked slightly cross.
"Can we keep the domestics outside? Thank you." The Doctor shot as she walked down to get closer to the consciousness.
"Am I addressing the consciousness?" It replied with a yes.
"Thank you. If I might observe, you infiltrated this civilization by means of warp shunt technology. So, may I suggest, with the greatest respect, that you shunt off?"
The vat of plastic started to reply angrily.
"Oh don't give me that. It's an invasion, plain and simple. Don't talk constitutional right."
The consciousness started to angrily splash back and forth.
"I am talking!" The Time Lord yells. "This planet is just starting. These stupid little people have only just learnt how to walk, but they're capable of so much more. I'm asking you on their behalf. Please, just go."
"Doctor!" Ross yelled out.
She turned around just in time to see the plastics grab her. She struggled against them. One dummy took the anti-plastic from her pocket.
"That was just insurance! I wasn't going to use it!"
The consciousness was extremely angry now.
"I was not attacking you! I'm here to help. I'm not your enemy. I swear, I'm not!"
The consciousness screeched at the Doctor.
"What do you mean," she asked confused.
Just then, a door slid back to reveal the TARDIS.
"No. Oh, no. Honestly, no!" She knew where this was going. It was horrified of her, because of the war.
"Yes, that's my ship." It screeched at her more. "That's not true! I should know, I was there! I fought in the war. It wasn't my fault. I couldn't save your world! I couldn't save any of them!"
"What's it doing," Ross called down.
"It's the TARDIS! The Nestene's identified its superior technology. It's terrified. It's going to the final phase. It's starting the invasion!" Her stomach dropped. "Get out, Ross! Just leg it now!"
The consciousness started to throw energy bolts around.
"It's the activation signal. It's transmitting!"
The Eye started to light up with energy.
"It's the end of the world." Ross stated.
The plastic in the vat was getting extremely agitated.
"Get out, Ross! Just get out! Run!" The Doctor was starting to get anxious. She just wanted Ross to get out safely.
"The stairs are gone," he yelled.
'Oh great.'
The Autons tried to push the Doctor into the vat. Ross and Mickey ran to the TARDIS hoping for safety.
"I haven't got the key," he yelled.
"We're going to die," Mickey cried.
"No!" The Doctor yelled.
"Time Lord." The Nestene spoke.
The Doctor continued to struggle against the Autons. She ended up tossing one over her shoulder into the vat just as Ross swung by on a chain. He kicked the other Auton into the vat along with the anti-plastic.
"Ross!" She grabbed a hold of him as he shakily landed back on the platform. They both looked down at the consciousness.
"Now we're in trouble," she tells him as she starts to run for the TARDIS.
Explosions start to go off everywhere. She quickly unlocked the TARDIS and hastily brushed past Mickey. As soon as she saw they were both inside, she started running around the console flipping switches and hitting buttons. She internally gave a sigh of relief once they rematerialized at a safer place. Mickey quickly stumbled out followed by Ross. The Doctor just smiled and leaned against the door frame.
"Nestene Consciousness? Easy." The Doctor grinned.
"You were useless in there. You'd be dead if it wasn't for me," Ross pointed out.
The Gallifreyan nodded. "Yes, I would. Thank you." There was a long pause before the Doctor spoke again. "Right then. I'll be off, unless, er… I don't know, you could come with me." She smiled at Ross, hopeful. "This box isn't just a London hopper, you know. It goes anywhere in the universe free of charge."
"Don't! She's an alien. She's a thing!" Mickey warned Ross.
'Rude!'
"She's not invited," the Doctor pointed at Mickey. She looked at Ross, "What do you think? You could stay here, fill your life with work and food and sleep, or you could go anywhere."
"Is it always this dangerous?" Ross asked.
The Doctor smiled and nodded. "Yeah."
The Doctor inwardly glared at Mickey for hugging Ross's waist. "Yeah, I can't. I've, er, I've got to go and find my mum and someone's got to look after this dim lump, so…"
She nodded awkwardly. "Okay, see you around." She quickly retreated into the TARDIS, and took off for the time vortex.
Once in the vortex, she sat down on the jumper seat. She couldn't help but feel disappointed. Ross and she could have gone on so many amazing adventures together. He could have been great to have around even if he did aggravate her at times. He was brilliant! It's also been quite some time since she had a companion with her. She couldn't just give up so easily! Something had to make him want to join her. Just then, an idea hit her.
She re-materialized the TARDIS back in the same spot it was in just seconds before. She sprinted to the door, and poked her head out.
"By the way, did I mention it also travels in time?"
She watched as Ross gave Mickey a peck on the cheek, before quickly running into the TARDIS. And off they went.

What Is This Feeling: Chapter 1
Fem!9th doctor x Male!Rose
The sound of combat boots echoed off the walls.
'The Autons have to be here somewhere,' the Doctor thought. She paused as she heard a male's panicked voice ahead.
She picked up her pace, and saw a tall blonde haired boy backing away from the Autons. The shop dummies backed him helplessly against a wall.
"Right, I've got the joke. Whose idea was this? Is it Derek's? Is it? Derek, is this you," the boy accused frantically.
The Doctor rolled her eyes.
'These dumb apes are so helpless.' She suddenly grabbed his hand, catching his attention.
"Run," She quickly tells him, and takes off running through the basement.
The Autons were hot on their tails. As they reached the lift an Auton's arm shot though the doors, causing a surprised yelp from the boy. The Doctor grabbed the arm and started to pull. After a few good yanks the arm popped off. The doors completely shut, and they were on their way. The boy turned toward the Doctor with wide eyes.
"You pulled his arm off." The Doctor quickly tossed him the arm.
"Yup. Plastic," The Doctor told him like it was the most obvious thing ever.
"Very clever. Nice trick! Who were they then, students? Is this a student thing or what?" The boy narrowed his eyes at her. She just scoffed.
"Why would they be students?"
'This one is really dense,' she thought to herself.
"'Cos to get that many people dressed up and being silly, they got to be students," the boy deduced.
"That makes sense. Well done," she said sarcastically.
"Thanks."
"They're not students," she told him seriously.
"Whoever they are, when Wilson finds them he's going to call the police."
The Doctor furrowed her brows. "Who's Wilson?"
"Chief electrician."
Oh, she met Wilson on her way in. He looked pretty mangled. "Wilson's dead."
The Doctor swiftly walked out of the lift with the boy right behind her.
"That's not funny! That's sick!"
The Doctor completely ignored him. Her thoughts were only on the task at hand.
"Hold on. Mind your eyes," she told him as she took out her sonic, and disabled the lift.
"Who are you? Who's that lot down there?" The blonde demanded.
"They're made of plastic. Living plastic creatures. They're being controlled by a relay device on the roof, which would be a great big problem if I didn't have this!" The Doctor grinned while holding up a bomb detonator. "So I'm going to go up there and blow 'em up."
The Doctor opened the exit door, and escorted the boy out.
"I might die in the process, but don't worry about me. No, you go home. Go on. Go and have your lovely beans on toast." She gave him a pointed look. "Don't tell anyone about this, because if you do, you'll get them killed."
She shut the door intending to carry on with her business. However, something in her compelled to ask the boy who he was. She didn't understand why, but she felt like she knew him from somewhere, or some when. The Doctor quickly opened the door back open.
"I'm the Doctor, by the way. What's your name?"
"Ross," the boy replied.
Ross… it doesn't ring a bell. Why doesn't it ring a bell? The Doctor hated not knowing. She needed to get back on track now. This boy needs to stop distracting her!
"Nice to meet you, Ross. Run for your life!"
With that final warning the Doctor opened the door to the stairwell. She quickly ran to the railing and looked down. The Autons were a floor below her, and working their way up fast.
"You're a bunch of fast little buggers, aint yah?" The Doctor spoke out loud before climbing up the flights of steps.
She needed them on the top two floors where the bombs were located. As soon as she was on the roof the Autons have caught up with her. All she needed was to press the button to set off the bomb's timer. She hoped to Rassilon that one minute was enough to escape on.
"You think you can just come and harvest this planet for your own? Well guess what? I'm the Doctor, and as long as I'm here, this planet is safe." She smirked to herself.
"I'd tell you to warn your friends, but I don't think you'll be seeing them again." The Doctor hit the button and quickly sprinted towards the edge of the roof.
'Get off the roof. Get off the roof. Get off the roof.' She kept chanting in her head.
She leapt over the edge and landed roughly in the scaffolding. The Sonic was in her hands in a matter of seconds. The Doctor raised it above her head. The Scaffolding turned on, and started to plummet towards the ground. The Doctor's stomach flew into her throat at the sudden drop.
The scaffolding stopped inches from the ground. The Time Lord barreled out of the scaffolding. She sprinted as fast as she could. A few feet from the building she was knocked off her feet by the force of the explosion.
She carefully picked herself up. Her hearts were pounding in her chest. That was way to close. The Doctor popped her neck, releasing some tension. She mentally checked her body for any injuries to find none. With slight satisfaction the Doctor headed back towards the TARDIS.
Once in the TARDIS, the Doctor was about to take off when the TARDIS gave a hum of concern.
"What?" The Doctor asked confused. "What do you mean there's still a signal? I blew the lot up."
The Doctor checked the database on the screen. Low and behold, there was still a signal. She took out her sonic screwdriver.
"How is that possible? It's tellin' me that there is a surviving Auton from the Hendrick's shop! I just blew that bloody place up not even twenty minutes ago!"
She left the TARDIS and spent all night trying to find where that signal was coming from.
By the next morning she found herself on her hands and knees looking through a cat door of some flat. The cat door opened from within, and the boy from last night stared confused at her.
She quickly got to her feet as he opened the door. Ross. Why is this ape showing up in her life all of a sudden? This is no coincidence.
"What are you doing here?" She asked confused.
"I live here," Ross shot back.
"Well, what do you do that for?" Smooth.
"'Cos I do. I'm only home because someone blew up my job," he glared at the Doctor.
The Doctor quickly checked her sonic, confused. "I must have got the wrong signal. You're not plastic." She knocked on his head. "No. Bonehead." She turned to leave. "Bye, then."
"You. Inside. Right now, "Ross demanded as he yanked her inside the flat.
"Who is it?" A woman is heard from a room off to the side.
"It's about last night. She's part of the inquiry. Give us ten minutes." Ross lied fluently to his mother.
"He deserves compensation," A blonde woman in her dressing gown appeared from her room. Ross headed toward the kitchen.
"Don't mind the mess. Do you want a coffee?"
"Might as well, thanks. Just milk," The Doctor replied while picking up a magazine. She frowned. "That won't last. He's gay and she's an alien."
The Doctor completely ignored Ross, and kept looking though his things. She picked up a book and flipped through the pages quickly.
"Hmm, sad ending."
She then picked up a piece of his mail.
"Ross Tyler."
Nothing rang a bell. This boy still seemed extremely familiar to her. Not remembering was going to kill her.
She then turned toward the mirror to admire herself. She had jaw length dark brown hair. However, the right side of her head was buzzed. She wore a tight purple shirt, with a form fitting leather jacket to go over. Her pants were also leather, and her combat boots add a nice 'bad ass' touch.
"Oh, could have been worse," She scrunched up her face.
"Don't like the ears."
She continued on, and started to shuffle some cards. The cards flew out of her hands after a couple of shuffles. She made an upset face.
"Maybe not."
Scuffling from behind the couch caught her attention. She walked over to the couch to further investigate.
"Do you have a cat?" She asked peering behind the piece of furniture.
"No," Ross quickly replied.
Before she saw it coming, a plastic arm shot out and latched onto her neck. She choked as it cut off her air circulation. She tried to rip it off, but it wouldn't budge. She squeaked and stared at Ross hoping to get his attention. He was too oblivious to notice anything, even when he was staring straight at her.
She finally yanked the arm from her neck. The arm stopped before throwing itself onto Ross's face. He stumbled back against the wall. The Doctor swiftly went to his aid. She tried to yank it off. Ross lost his balance and fell into the Doctor. She fell backwards under his weight. They both crashed into the glass coffee table.
They rolled over each other, both attempting to pull the arm off. At long last the Time Lord removed the arm. She took her Sonic and disabled the arm.
"There. Completely harmless." The Doctor tossed Ross the arm.
"Oh yeah." Ross then hit the Doctor in the arm with the plastic.
"Ow!" The Doctor rubbed her arm before heading out of the flat.
She was heading down the stairs with the plastic arm in hand. Ross was trailing behind her.
"Hold on a minute. You can't just go swanning off!"
"Yes I can. This is me, swanning off. See yah!" The Doctor quickly replied.
"But that arm was moving. It tried to kill me!"
"Ten out of ten for observation." She rolled her eyes.
"You can't just walk away. You've got to tell me what's goin' on!" Ross persisted.
"No I don't," the Doctor stated while walking out of the building.
She kept on walking, and much to her annoyance, so did Ross. This boy would follow her to the ends of the Earth is seemed.
"All right, then. I'll go to the police. I'll tell everyone. You said, if I did that, I'd get people killed. Tell me, or I'll start talking," Ross threatened.
'Damn, this ape is persistent,' She thought.
"Is that supposed to sound tough," The Doc challenged.
"Sort of."
The Gallifreyan smiled. "Doesn't work."
"Who are you," the blonde asked frustrated.
"I told you. The Doctor."
"Yeah, but Doctor what?"
"Just the Doctor."
"The Doctor."
She was getting an absolute kick out of this. She just grinned and waved.
"Hello!"
"Is that supposed to sound impressive?"
"Sort of," she grinned.
"Come on, then. You can tell me. Are you the police?"
"No, I was just passing through. I'm a long way from home."
A very long way. A pang of guilt hit her chest just thinking about her home planet. The home she could never return to. All because she hit that big red button.
A shot of pain surged through her head. It was almost like she was forgetting something big. She shook her head, and pushed the thought to the side.
"But what have I done wrong? How comes those plastic things keep coming after me?" Ross asked.
"Oh, suddenly the world revolves around you. You were just an accident. You got in the way, that's all,' she spoke harshly.
"It tried to kill me," he exclaimed.
"It was after me, not you. Last night in the shop, I was there, you blundered in, almost ruined the whole thing. This morning, I was tracking it down, it was tracking me down. The only reason it fixed on you is 'cos you've met me."
Ross rolled his eyes. "So what you're saying is, the entire world revolved around you?"
"Sort of, yeah." She gave a laugh.
"You're full of it!" He laughed.
"Sort of, yeah," She beamed at him.
"But, all this plastic stuff. Who else knows about it?"
"No one." She informed him.
"What, you're on your own?"
'Not always,' she thought back to her many past companions.
"Who else is there? I mean, you lot, all you do is eat chips, go to bed, and watch telly, while all the time, underneath you, there's a war going on."
They both continued to walk through the park, side by side. They might have looked like old friends catching up.
"Okay. Start from the beginning. I mean, if we're going with living plastic, and I don't even believe that, but if we do, how did you kill it?"
"The thing controlling it projects life into the arm. I cut off the signal, dead," She spoke like it was the simplest answer ever.
"So that's radio control?"
"Thought control," she corrected. "Are you alright then?"
"Yeah. So who's controlling it, then?"
"Long story."
They continued to walk and talk until they were across the street from the TARDIS. Of course, Ross didn't know this fact.
"Really though, Doctor. Tell me, who are you?"
"Do you know like we were saying about the Earth revolving? It's like when you were a kid. The first time they tell you the world's turning and you just can't quite believe it, because everything looks like it's standing still." She grabbed Ross's hand, and looked at him. "I can feel it. The turn of the Earth. The ground beneath our feet is spinning at a thousand miles an hour, and the entire planet is hurtling round the sun at sixty seven thousand miles an hour, and I can feel it. We're falling through space, you and me, clinging to the skin of this tiny world, and if we let go…" She released his hand. "That's who I am."
She started to walk away.
"Now forget me, Ross Tyler. Go home."
With that she walked back to the TARDIS.

What Is This Feeling: Chapter 6
Fem!9th Doctor x Male!Rose Tyler
WITF Masterlist
WARNING: The end of this chapter does contain some blood. It's not gruesomely detailed, but it is mentioned. You have been warned.

What Is This Feeling: Chapter 3
Fem!9th Doctor x Male!Rose Tyler
WITF Masterlist
The room was lit green from the time rotor.
"Right then, Ross Tyler, you tell me. Where do you want to go? Backwards or forwards in time? It's your choice. What's it going to be?" The Doctor smirked.
"Uh…forwards."
The Doctor hit a button, and flipped a switch before turning back to Ross.
"How far?"
"One hundred years."
She turned to the console and rolled the time rotor one hundred years. She flipped a lever, and twister a knob, setting the TARDIS into motion. Once they've landed, she smiled and pointed to the door.
"There you go. Step outside those doors, it's the twenty second century."
Ross looked at her in amazement. "You're kidding."
"That's a bit boring though." She grinned at him. "Do you want to go further?"
"Fine by me."
The Doctor rolled the rotor once more, and they traveled through the time vortex. Seconds later the TARDIS stopped.
"Ten thousand years in the future. Step outside, it's the year 12005, the new roman empire."
"You think you're so impressive," he grinned at her.
"I am so impressive," she feigned being offended.
"You wish," he laughed.
"Right then, you asked for it. I know exactly where to go. Hold on!"
The TARDIS once again travelled through the vortex. Once they arrived, the Doctor dinged the bell for effect. She stood back smiling.
"Where are we? What's out there," he asked excitedly.
She just gestured to the door. Ross slowly walked over to the door, and stepped out. The Doctor followed him out and walked over to the wall. She soniced a panel causing the observation shield to lower. She stepped down to where Ross stood.
"You lot, you spend all your time thinking about dying, like you're going to get killed by eggs or beef or global warming or asteroids. But you never take time to imagine the impossible, that maybe you survive. This is the year five point five slash apple slash twenty six. Five billion years in your future and this is the day-" she looked at her wrist watch. "Hold on…" The sun suddenly flared and turned red.
"This is the day that the sun expands." She turned and looked at Ross. "Welcome to the end of the world." She bumped his shoulder with hers. "C'mon, let's go join the party."
The Doctor led him out of the door of the gallery, and into the hallway. They both began to walk towards the main area.
"Shuttles five and six are now docking. Guests are reminded that Platform One forbids the use of weapons, teleportation and religion. Earth death is scheduled for fifteen thirty nine, followed by drinks in the Manchester Suite," the computer announced.
They continued walking down the hallways.
"So, when it says guests, does that mean people," Ross asked.
"Depends on what you mean by people." The Doctor continued to walk without a care in the world.
"I mean people. What do you mean?"
"Aliens," She said, as if it was the most obvious thing.
They turned a corner. The Doctor stopped in front of a door, and took out her sonic.
"What are they doing on board this spaceship? What's it all for?" Ross continued to ask.
"It's not really a spaceship, more like an observation deck," she explained. "The great and the good are gathering to watch the planet burn."
She began to sonic the panel on the wall. She smiled to herself as the door opened.
"What for?"
"Fun."
They entered the observation gallery. A massive window stood at the other end of the room, displaying the Sun and Earth.
"Mind you, when I said the great and the good, what I mean is, the rich," the Time Lord informed her new companion.
"But, hold on. They did this once on Newsround Extra. The Sun expanding, that takes hundreds of years."
"Millions," she corrected. "But the planet's now property of the National Trust." She pointed to the satellites around the Earth. "See down there? Gravity satellites holding back the Sun."
Ross shook his head, confused. "The planet looks the same as ever. Thought the continents shifted and things."
"They did, and the Trust shifted them back. That's a classic Earth. But now the money's run out, nature takes over."
"How long's it got," Ross asked, sounding almost heartbroken.
The Doctor checked her wrist watch.
"About half an hour and the planet gets roasted."
Ross looked at the Doctor almost admiringly.
"Is that why we're here? I mean, is that what you do? Jump in at the last minute and save the Earth?"
"I'm not saving it. Time's up," she stated, and popped the 'p'.
"But what about the people," Ross asked concerned.
"Oh, it's empty." She reassured him. "They're all gone. No one left."
"Just me, then," he spoke quietly.
The Doctor was about to comfort him when a blue-skinned person with golden slit eyes strode towards them.
"Who the hell are you," he asked rudely.
"Oh, that's nice, thanks," the Doctor shot.
"How did you get in? This is a maximum hospitality zone. The guests have disembarked. They're on their way any second now."
The Doctor took out her psychic paper, and showed the blue man.
"No, that's me. I'm a guest. Look, I've got an invitation. Look. There, you see? It's fine, you see? The Doctor plus one. I'm the Doctor, this is Ross Tyler. He's my plus one. Is that alright?" She placed the psychic paper back into her pocket.
"Well, obviously. Apologies et cetera. If you're on board, we'd better start. Enjoy."
The steward walked away and over to the lectern. The Doctor quietly spoke to Ross.
"The paper's slightly psychic. It shows them whatever I want them to see. Saves a lot of time."
"He's blue," Ross stated.
"Yeah."
"'Kay," Ross answered, accepting the fact.
"We have in attendance the Doctor and Ross Tyler. Thank you. All staff to their positions," the steward announced.
A bunch of tiny blue staff members hurried to their positions. The steward continued to announce names.
"And now, might I introduce the next honoured guest? Representing the Forest of Cheam, we have… trees. Namely Jabe, Lute, and Coffa."
A shorter bark skinned man entered the room with his two larger escorts. He was beautiful… in a manly tree way. They started to walk over toward the Doctor and Ross.
"The gift of Peace. I bring you a cutting of my grandfather." Jabe gently handed a potted twig to the Doctor. She grinned and handed it off to Ross.
"Thank you. Yes, gifts!" She patted herself down, quickly thinking.
'They're trees. They should like air, yeah?'
"Er, I give you in return air from my lungs."
She gently blew on Jabe's face.
"How intimate," Jabe spoke, slightly surprised.
"There's more where that came from," the Doctor grinned, internally laughing that that actually worked.
"I bet there is," Jabe smiled before continuing on.
This continued on for a bit. The Doctor couldn't help but laugh when Ross got spit in the face by the Moxx of Balhoon.
"And last but not least, our very special guest. Ladies and gentlemen, and trees and multiforms, consider the Earth below. In memory of this dying world, we call forth the last Human. The Lady Cassandra O'Brien Dot Delta Seventeen."
A face in piece of thin skin stretched in a rectangular frame was wheeled in. Her escorts were two men hidden in top-to-toe hospital whites. The Doctor grinned, silently laughing.
"Oh, now, don't stare. I know, I know it's shocking, isn't it? I've had my chin completely taken away and look at the difference. Look how thin I am! Thin and dainty. I don't look a day over two thousand. Moisturize me. Moisturize me." She spoke that last part quietly to her escorts. One of her them used a pump spray on her skin.
"Truly, I am the last Human. My father was a Texan; my mother was from the Arctic Desert. They were born on Earth and were the last to be buried in its soil. I have come to honour them and say goodbye. Oh, no tears, no tears. I'm sorry."
Ross slowly walked toward the 'last Human' to investigate more. The Doctor watched, slightly concerned. She hoped he wouldn't react badly.
"But behold, I bring gifts. From Earth itself, the last remaining Ostrich egg." One of the blue workers brought it out and presented it. "Legend says it had a wingspan of fifty feet and blew fire from its nostrils. Or was that my third husband?" The Doctor stifled a laugh.
"And here, another rarity." A 1950's juke box was wheeled in. "According to the archived, this was called an iPod. It stores classical music from humanity's greatest composers. Play on!"
One of the little attendants pressed a button, and a 45 was selected. The strains of Tainted Love by Soft Cell started to ring out. The Gallifreyan laughed and bobbed her head to the music.
"Refreshments will now be served. Earth death in thirty minutes," the steward announced.
The Doctor watched as Ross ran out of the gallery. She started to go after him, but was stopped.
"Doctor?"
She turned around to be flashed by a camera that Jabe was holding.
"Thank you."
The Doctor continued on. 'That was weird,' she thought to herself.
She was halfway down a hallway when an announcement was made.
"Would the owner of the blue box in private gallery fifteen please report to the steward's office, immediately. Guests are reminded that use of teleportation devices is strictly forbidden under Peace Treaty five point four slash cup slash sixteen. Thank you."
"Opps! That would be me. Better go make sure they don't break my TARDIS," she spoke to herself.
The Doctor went off towards private gallery fifteen to see the tiny attendants starting to lift the TARDIS onto a cart.
"Don't break it now! She's older than your entire race!"
One of the tiny attendants approached the Doctor with a clipboard.
"Name?" It asked in a high pitched voice.
"The Doctor."
"Your ship will be taken to Dock three."
The Doctor saw the attendants roughly wheel the TARDIS away.
"Oi, now, be careful with that. Park it properly. No scratches." The Doctor told them.
The attendant with the clipboard handed the Doctor a ticket that said 'Have a nice day'. She shoved it into her pocket, and continued back on her search for her pink and yellow human. She didn't have to go far. Ross was in the room they took the TARDIS out of.
"What'd you think, then?" She asked as she took a seat on the stairs.
"Good. Yeah, fine. Once you get passed the slightly psychic paper." There was a small awkward pause before Ross spoke again. "They're just so alien. The aliens are so alien. You look at 'em and they're alien."
'That's not racist at all,' she thought sarcastically.
"Good thing I didn't take you to the Deep South," she commented.
Ross leaned back and started to take in the Doctor.
"Where are you from," he asked.
"All over the place," She said quickly.
"They all speak English," Ross went on.
The Doctor relaxed a bit, knowing Ross didn't pry on where she was from. She wasn't ready for that.
"No, you just hear English. It's a gift of the TARDIS. The telepathic field gets inside your brain and translates."
"It's inside my brain," Ross asked, annoyed.
"Well, in a good way," she reassured.
"Your machine gets inside my head. It gets inside and it changes my mind and you didn't even ask," Ross fumed.
"I didn't think about it like that…"
"No, you were too busy thinking up cheap shots about the Deep South. Who are you, Doctor? What are you called? What sort of alien are you?"
'Not this again,' she internally groaned.
"I'm just the Doctor."
"From what planet?"
She scoffed, "Well, it's not as if you'll know where it is!"
"Where are you from," Ross demanded.
"Why does it matter," her voice started to rise.
"Tell me who you are," yelled the Human.
The Doctor was beyond livid at this point. "This is who I am, right here, right now, all right? All that counts is here and now, and this is me."
"Yeah, and I'm here too because you brought me here, so just tell me!"
The Time Lord quickly got up and descended down the steps to stand in front of the observation window. She needed a minute to breathe and control her emotions. The Time War was still fresh in her mind. Just thinking about it physically brings her pain. She wasn't ready to talk about it. Let alone to Ross who can hardly handle these prissy rich aliens.
Ross slowly stepped down beside the Doctor. He approached her like he would a frightened animal.
"All right. As my mate Shane says, don't argue with the designated driver." Ross then took out his phone.
"Can't exactly call a taxi. There's no signal. We're out of range. Just a bit."
The Doctor took a breath before turning towards him.
"Tell you what," she grabbed his phone, and began to take it apart. "With a bit of jiggery pokery…"
"Is that a technical term, jiggery pokery," Ross grinned.
"Yeah, I came first in jiggery pokery. What about you?" She gave him a small smile.
"No, I failed hullabaloo."
The Doctor placed a universal signal device into the back of the phone. She knew buying an extra one in the year 5023 would come in handy. She passed it back to the boy.
"There you go."
She watched as Ross stepped away to call his mum. She spoke again once their conversation was over.
"Think that's amazing, you want to see the bill."
"That was five billion years ago. So, she's dead now. Five billion years later, my mum's dead."
"Bundle of laughs, you are," she commented.
Just then the space station began to shake. Once it was over, the Doctor paused for a brief second before smiling.
"That's not supposed to happen."
She knew this wasn't going to be a vacation. Something dangerous and exciting seemed to happen everywhere she went. The Doctor absolutely loved it.
