so when i first said that wangxian are the type of couple to pretend like they don’t know each other, just so that they can flirt and experience the thrill of the chase all over again, i would like it to be known that i hadn’t read the novels at that point i had no idea that that was actually canon but boy am i glad it is

MingXian idea: just when Wei Wuxian gets stabbed, Nie Mingjue is visiting Burial Mounds, man is just about to shove his intestines back in and walk off when he gets swept off his feet, and goes :))?? Huh and Nie MingJue is like panicked (lets say he knows wwx got his core dissipated or smthin) and like qinghe is too far away! (Turns to wen ning) YOUR SISTER GET YOUR SISTER
Wei Wuxian and Wen Ning share eye contact, and he's like tell him im fine Wen Ning you know im fine and Wen Ning ignores his plea and also listens to this very panicked nie zongzhu and plays along
Absolutely zongzhu this way lets go
And WWX pouts all the way

okay so no pressure at all to write this but consider: wwx leaving his cave bc lwj got slightly hurt or smth (not on purpose!) but rly lwj is just taking this opportunity to bully wwx into seeing and taking care of him? sorry haha but your double happiness fics made me continue to watch pillowbook so im dying bc fluff and sass 😂
Extra 13: 桃花蜜 (Peach blossom honey) | previous parts here
Wei Wuxian shuffles guiltily into the room, wringing his hands in front of him and chewing on his bottom lip. He hovers in the archway separating the private quarters from the main chamber, watching as Lan Wangji sits up in bed with a wince, one hand pressed over his right shoulder.
“I’m sorry!” he blurts out. Lan Wangji looks at him with a raised eyebrow and doesn’t respond, which makes him panic even more. “I didn’t mean to stab you for real. I only meant to—”
Still, Lan Wangji doesn’t speak. Guilt gnaws away at his gut, twisting and churning at his insides, and he sidles closer to the bed with his most apologetic expression.
“Lan Zhan…” he says, reaching out to pinch the edge of Lan Wangji’s sleeve between his fingers and giving it a quick tug. “Please don’t be mad at me.”
He pouts for good measure. He really hadn’t meant to stab Lan Wangji with the knife. They had been sparring, and Lan Wangji had knocked Suibian from his hand, so Wei Wuxian had whipped out his knife as a substitute. There was no way he could have predicted that Lan Wangji would lose his footing and not be able to block his attack! He’d dropped the knife as soon as he realised what had happened, but it had already been too late.
But Lan Wangji still doesn’t acknowledge him, and Wei Wuxian is at a loss about what to do. He tugs a little harder at his sleeve.
“Lan Zhan,” he whines. “Tell me what I can do to fix it?”
Lan Wangji glances over at the bowl of medicine sitting on the table.
“The medicine,” he says.
Wei Wuxian leaps to obey, eager to do something as long as it means Lan Wangji doesn’t blame him for what happened. He perches on the edge of the bed and holds the bowl out to him. Lan Wangji looks down at it, then back up at Wei Wuxian.
“My shoulder is injured,” he says.
Wei Wuxian gapes.
“You want me to—” He looks down at the bowl, cheeks flushing indignantly. “I’m not your maid!”
Lan Wangji grunts, pressing his hand more firmly against his shoulder where he had been stabbed, and fixes Wei Wuxian with a pointed look as if to say 'this is your fault, take responsibility'. Which, okay, yes, he has a point. Wei Wuxian sighs and picks up the spoon reluctantly.
“You should consider yourself lucky,” he grumbles. “No one else has ever had the good fortune to be fed medicine by me personally.”
“You stabbed me,” Lan Wangji reminds him, leaning forward and sipping from the spoon in Wei Wuxian’s hand. He pulls back as soon as his lips touch the spoon. “It’s too hot.”
“You—!” Wei Wuxian splutters. “You’re a dragon! You control water!”
Lan Wangji coughs delicately and touches his shoulder again. Wei Wuxian grinds his teeth, takes a deep breath to calm himself down, and glares. And the bastard—the bastard has the audacity to sit there looking expectantly at him, waiting for him to cool down his medicine to an acceptable drinking temperature! He’s the Crown Prince of Qing Qiu, not some common nursemaid for Lan Wangji to boss around!
The fingers holding the spoon shake as he brings to closer to his own mouth and blows gently over the medicine to cool it. He briefly entertains the idea of heating the medicine instead of cooling it—it would only take a tiny spark of power—but decides against it. Who knows what Lan Wangji would make him do in retaliation. It wouldn’t be worth it.
He holds out the spoon to Lan Wangji, who drinks the medicine with a pleased little crinkle at the corner of his eyes.
“Mm, much better,” he says. He waits patiently for Wei Wuxian to bring the next spoonful to his mouth and drinks that too. Then he frowns. “It’s very bitter though.”
“Good medicine always is,” Wei Wuxian tells him shortly.
Lan Wangji turns away from the next spoonful with a put-upon expression and a tiny downturn of his lips.
“Some peach blossom honey would help,” he says, almost wistfully. And then he looks at Wei Wuxian out of the corner of his eye.
How did he—?
“No, it won’t,” Wei Wuxian bites out through his clenched jaws. “Don’t be a baby.”
Lan Wangji sighs and sits back against the bedframe, his hand still clutching his injured shoulder.
“You can take the medicine away,” he says.
“You—!” Wei Wuxian exclaims in dismay. “How old are you, Lan Wangji? Wanting sweets with your medicine!”
But Lan Wangji stubbornly refuses the next spoonful that’s brought to his mouth. Wei Wuxian groans.
“What do you want from me?” he complains. “What will it take to get you to finish this medicine?”
He knows he’s made a mistake when he sees the glint in Lan Wangji’s eyes. He resigns himself to surrendering his personal stash of peach blossom honey, the one Xiao Xingchen had specially developed for him as a kit to take with his own medicine. How Lan Wangji even knew that he carries a vial with him at all times is beyond him—
“Feed it to me,” Lan Wangji tells him.
“I am!”
Lan Wangji shakes his head.
“Not with the spoon,” he says. His eyes fall to Wei Wuxian’s lips.
“W-What?” Wei Wuxian cries, flushing to the roots of his hair, his heart racing at the thought despite his indignation. “No way! That’s—”
Shameless. Indecent. How could Lan Wangji suggest such a thing when they weren’t—!
“We’re engaged,” Lan Wangji reminds him. “It would not be inappropriate.”
"Fake engaged,” Wei Wuxian retorts. He fishes in his sleeve for the vial of peach blossom honey. “Here. Take it. You can have the whole thing with your stupid medicine. I hope you get cavities.”
He shoves it at Lan Wangji’s chest, only for his hand to be batted away.
“I don’t want it anymore,” Lan Wangji says. “I want you to feed me.”
“Lan Wangji! Don’t push your luck,” Wei Wuxian warns. He sets the bowl down on the bedside table with a clang and gets to his feet in a huff. “You have another hand, use it!”
A hand shoots out to grab his wrist as he turns to leave, and he’s yanked back down onto the bed with more force than any injured person should rightfully have, immortal or no. He finds himself on his back, splayed over Lan Wangji’s legs, looking up into his amber eyes, now darkened to the colour of rich honey. His heart is doing an impressive acrobatic routine in his chest and you could probably fry an egg on his face with the heat that rushes to it when he takes in their current position. A hand on his chest prevents him from getting up again.
“Wei Ying.” He shivers at the way Lan Wangji almost purrs his name. “Where are you going?”
“N-Nowhere,” he squeaks. Lan Wangji hums, pleased.
“Good boy.” The hand on his chest lightens enough so he can sit up, moving down to rest on his thigh instead. Wei Wuxian gulps. “The medicine, please.”
Wei Wuxian wishes he’d stabbed him a couple more times when he’d had the chance. Why stop at one, when he could riddle this lecherous bastard with holes? It would be infinitely more satisfying.
He picks up the bowl of medicine and looks at its murky brown contents with revulsion. He can’t believe he’s about to do this for Lan Wangji when he can barely stomach drinking medicine for himself. But when he goes to drink it, Lan Wangji grabs his hand and brings the bowl to his own mouth, downing the contents in one smooth swallow. Wei Wuxian stares at him, dumbstruck.
What the fuck?
The bowl is taken from him and something else is pressed into his hands while he’s still frozen. He looks down to see the vial of peach blossom honey and then back up into Lan Wangji’s expectant gaze, still feeling a little off-kilter. There isn’t a spare spoon. How does he—?
He removes the stopper from the vial and dips a finger inside, scooping out a dollop of rich, golden syrup. He stares at it, lost. What now?
Lan Wangji takes matters into his own hands and takes Wei Wuxian’s finger into his mouth. Heat flares through Wei Wuxian at the sensation of Lan Wangji’s tongue against his skin, running up the length of his arm and straight down into his belly. He gasps, high and breathy in the back of his throat, and whimpers when Lan Wangji chuckles, the vibrations tingling along every nerve in his finger. Then the heat is gone and air is cold against the residual wetness on his finger.
Lan Wangji hums.
“It’s delicious,” he says, pleased as punch. “Thank you, Wei Ying.”
Wei Wuxian jumps to his feet with a gasp and runs out of the room, his hands pressed against his burning cheeks. Lan Wangji lets him leave without protest, stoppering the vial of peach blossom honey and turning it over in his hand with a satisfied smile.

Episode 7: The One where At Last LWJ Sees the Light
We’re still in the cave of wonders, guys, and lan yi is doing plot exposition so we’re gonna skip that
Once Lan Yi is done laying down Plot, we have this cute exchange
Lwj: elder, as your descendent i pinky promise to complete this Super Important Mission
Wwx: oh, same, me too!
Lwj: this is a LAN FAMILY MATTER and none of your business
Wwx: YOU CAN’T STOP ME FROM HELPING
Wwx: and besides, since my grandmaster was besties with your ancestor that means that it’s practically my family matter too, so there
YOU’RE ALSO MARRIED NOW GUYS, REMEMBER, SO IT’S A FAMILY MATTER EITHER WAY
And now, drumroll please…
Our beautiful boys tumble out of the cave of wonders (while still tied together!!) and crash land onto the ground, with wwx oh so conveniently sprawled on top of lwj
THAT’S RIGHT GUYS
IT’S THAT TROPE AND IT’S BEAUTIFUL
Lol lwj’s stunned face here
Wwx: I DIDN’T MEAN TO FALL ON YOU…! Oh hi jiang cheng
yep, jc’s here to ruin the moment (i love you jc, but you have horrible timing)
Wwx is so happy to see his brother, he greets him immediately and completely forgets about the fact that he and lwj are in a…compromising position
It’s adorable, really
Lwj: *glares with every ounce of Repressed Gay Rage in his body* GET UP RIGHT NOW.
Wwx: oh, right sure *totally unruffled bc he is shameless*
At this point we cut to the next scene which is still in the same place and with the same characters but now lwj has his ribbon back on his forehead
Ngl i’m kinda bummed we didn’t see him untie their wrists
It would’ve been hilarious since jc and wen qing wouldve been watching it all happen lol
like, i’m just picturing wq and jc being awkwardly silent as lwj unravels his ribbon from wwx’s wrist. wwx’s eyes would ofc be glued on lwj and he’d be babbling some inane thing or another
but we didn’t get that. oh well.
Oh, and here we find out that lwj and wwx were in that cave for one day and one night
Now that lwj is all put together again, we see wwx, jc, and wq have a conversation that i think counts as a wangxian moment
Jc and wq both start throwing questions at our boys about where they’ve been and what they were doing and all that
Lwj looks very uncomfortable about all the questions.
Lans don’t lie (supposedly; lwj is such a stickler at this point in his life he def doesn’t lie)
So wwx swoops in to ~rescue~ him!!
He answers all the questions by lying thru his teeth: oh yeah, we got lost and trapped and swam for hours and hours in an underground, waterlogged maze that definitely exists before we finally found a way out!! I almost froze to death (he says with a whine bc that’s just how he is lol)
Once he finishes answering all those questions he turns to share THE CUTEST LITTLE SECRET SMILE WITH LWJ. SO ADORABLE GUYS, HOW IS HE REAL
Lwj sees it and HAS TO LOOK AWAY
I CAN’T EVEN BLAME HIM BC IF WWX SMILED AT ME LIKE THAT (WITH HIS CUTE LITTLE BEAUTY MARK IN FULL VIEW!!) I WOULD’VE DIED.
JUST DROPPED TO THE GROUND DEAD.
IT’S TOO MUCH, IT’S TOO MUCH
Now we cut to a Plot Heavy Scene, featuring our boys and lxc and lqr, that is not relevant to this post at all EXCEPT I HAVE TO SAY OH GOD, LWJ LOOKS SO BABY-FACED HERE?? HOW?? HIS LITTLE FACE LOOKS ALL ROUNDED AND SOFT AND HIS LIPS ARE ALL POUTY. HE’S BEBY. I JUST WANT TO WRAP HIM UP IN BLANKETS AND GIVE HIM HOT CHOCOLATE
More plot discussion happens and whatever they’re talking about makes wwx bump shoulders with lwj and call him “my confidant” AKA MY SOULMATE AHHHHHHH
OH WAIT, do you know what else is important about this scene?
It shows how much taller wwx is than lwj!!! And I LOVE IT.
Lwj’s shoulders are a good two inches lower than wwx’s
WHY ISN’T THERE MORE FIC/ART SHOWING THIS??
I MEAN, THE STOIC SOLEMN CHARACTER IS SMOL AND THE SUNSHINEY CHARACTER IS GIANT. IT’S SUCH GREAT COMBINATION!!!
I think ppl in the cultivation world probs don’t realize how short lwj is bc he gives off such an intimidating aura i’m so jealous; i need to get myself an intimidating aura
Blah blah more plot, wwx promises not to tell anybody anything about the plot blah blah
Right after that, they bump into nhs who’s like, hey you guys were gone all night did anything weird happen?? (this is the guy who sneaks porn into this place on the regular, i’m pretty sure we all know what he means by “weird”)
Wwx: oooh, yeah, this super weird thing happened, let me tell you all about it
Lwj: *whips around to stare at wwx likE OMG SRSLY YOU JUST SAID YOU’D KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT*
Wwx: *proceeds to tell nhs a spooky lie about meeting a demon snake*
Nhs: *flees in terror bc he thinks snakes are scary for some reason* (they’re not, snakes are def cute critters)
Lwj: *exasperatedly rolls his eyes at wwx’s frankly amazing story-telling skills*
AND HERE WE GET TO SEE THE FIRST TIME LWJ STARES LONGINGLY AT WWX. LWJ, THIS IS GONNA BE YOUR MAIN HOBBY FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE
Wwx runs after his brother and slings a playful arm around his shoulders and walks away without a second glance to lwj
Lwj stares soulfully at him, def noticing that wwx didn’t spare him a second look (poor bb lwj)
After a moment of Soulful Staring, his lips part as he lowers his gaze to the ground and decisively turns and walks off
INTERNALLY HE’S LIKE OFC WWX WOULDN’T WANT TO SPEND TIME WITH ME SINCE I’M ALL STOIC AND REPRESSED BUT THAT’S FINE, IDC, I DIDN’T WANT TO HANG OUT WITH HIM ANYWAY
POOR LWJ!! DOESN’T THIS MAKE YOUR HEART TWINGE???
Even more plot stuff happens
But they make it worth the wait because now we get to…
THE LANTERN SCENE (PART 1)
YES, YOU HEARD RIGHT.
WWX: lwj, we should set off a lantern and make a wish together since we’ve been thru so much together now
LWJ: *pulls a batman* I work alone
WWXX: habits change!! Besides, i made this lantern specially for you~! *shows drawing of magic cave bunny on the lantern*
HERE WE GO GUYS, OMG, IT’S HAPPENING
Lwj looks at the lantern and, just, his face, ahhh, LWJ’S ENTIRE FACE GOES SOFT AND WE SEE HIM SMILE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE SERIES
FIRST!!
TIME!!
EVER!!!
AND IT ONLY TOOK 7 EPISODES!!
I’M DYING I’M D Y I N G
HIS LIPS PART AND THE SMILE JUST GENTLY BLOOMS ON HIS FACE, ILLUMINATING IT SOFTLY LIKE A FUCKING SUNRISE OR SMTH
FUCK IT’S JUST SO BEAUTIFUL IT’S MAKING ME POETIC
GAHHH
NO WONDER HE NEVER SMILES
THAT SMILE COULD KILL PEOPLE IN THE BEST WAY
Ofc wwx has to ruin the moment by giggling at him and saying “hey you’re smiling!!”
Okay, guys, you know and I know that wwx is giggling from joy. Like yay!! I made lan zhan smile!! I did a Good Thing!!!
He is genuinely tickled pink about making his soulmate happy!
But remember, LWJ is the King of Repressed Gays here. So, you know, the laughter in his ears sounds mocking. Because he’s a dumb boy who can’t Emotion well yet.
LWJ reacts to the giggles by immediately grabbing his sword which startles wwx into stumbling back into the group behind him and the mood is effectively ruined
But just for a little bit!!
Then ~THEIR SONG~ starts playing in the background AND THEY SEND OFF THEIR LANTERN TOGETHER, WHICH IS SOMETHING THAT GENERALLY ONLY ROMANTICALLY INVOLVED COUPLES DO
as is shown by how everyone’s trying to get jyl and jzx (aka our token heteros) to send off a lantern together
The pair of them, need i remind you, are currently betrothed (even tho that dumb peacock doesn’t deserve her)
so yeah, that’s totally not gay at all
WWX makes his wish: “I wish to always stand with justice and live without regrets”
THIS IS IT, THIS IS THE MOMENT.
THIS IS WHEN LWJ FALLS IN LOVE, I SWEAR
LWJ is watching wwx as he’s making that wish (more of an oath, really), and as soon as he hears those words, his eyes widen the way they do when someone gets hit with a life-altering realization. He’s completely thunderstruck
IT’S NOT SUBTLE GUYS
YOU CAN PRACTICALLY SEE CUPID’S ARROW STICKING OUT OF HIS CHEST (OR WHATEVER ANCIENT FANTASY CHINA EQUIVALENT THERE IS)
THAT’S IT. HE’S A GONER. THERE’S NO ONE ELSE FOR HIM NOW. NO ONE BUT WWX.
For real tho, after this moment, we really don’t see lwj be angry towards wwx like he has been. Annoyed and exasperated at him, sure, but never angry in a petty mean way like before.
It’s beautiful
The next wangxian moment isn’t nearly as intense but it happens shortly after the lantern scene
Wwx goes to beat the shit out of jzx for saying he doesn’t want to marry jyl (because jzx is a moron and definitely deserves a beat down for this insult)
Wwx and jzx are surrounded by a group of loud, flailing people
And lwj just dives right into that throng of people to get to wwx (contrast this to a scene in a later episode where he actively avoids going anywhere near a much calmer, collected group of people bc ew people)
Lwj: *grabs at wwx* stop, wei ying
Wwx: DON’T STOP ME, LAN ZHAN, IM GONNA KILL THIS GUY DEAD IS2G
Next wangxian scene takes place the following morning
Lwj is walking along minding his own business and sees wwx kneeling as punishment for the fight before
He approaches him and calls out to him.
THIS IS IMPORTANT
This is the first time we see him willingly initiate interaction with wwx. Every other time, wwx was the one to approach him first and start to pester him for attention.
BUT LOL JOKE’S ON HIM. THE FIRST TIME HE DARES TO APPROACH WWX FIRST AND HE IMMEDIATELY REGRETS IT
‘Oh hey lan zhan’ wwx responds to LWJ. ‘look at all these little ants i found on the ground!!’
‘OMG WWX YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BE KNEELING TO REFLECT ON YOUR MISDEEDS NOT TO PLAY WITH ANTS. SO UNTEACHABLE’ *walks off in a huff*
Wwx is left pouting and saying ‘but the ants are so cute.’
I’M SORRY WHAT??
WHAT DID YOU SAY WWX?? ANTS ARE CUTE??
ANTS ARE NOT CUTE.
YOU, WWX, YOU ARE CUTE. ANTS ARE NOT.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU.
(i just really hate insects, guys, i would not get near them even if wwx was the one holding them)
(okay, maybe if wwx was holding them, i’d try to get near them, but idk how successful i’d be)
Blah blah more plot stuff happens, blah jin “can’t keep it in my pants* guangshan exists now blah blah
Alright so now we have the jiang clan saying their goodbyes to the lan clan since i guess Ancient Fantasy China summer school is over maybe??? Idk, point is they gotta leave.
As they leave, wwx starts to whisper at lwj “lan zhan, lan zhan, about that Plot Device…”
But gets tugged away by his fam, HOWEVER he manages to hear lxc telling lwj to be careful in that foreboding Important Plot Things Are Afoot sort of way
And wwx makes the effort to go back to talk to lwj but jc grabs him and yanks him out by the arm
Jc: are you crazy?? That guy hates you!! He must be happy you’re leaving
Wwx: LIES AND SLANDER, everyone here LOVES me
Idk about everyone, but lwj definitely loves him and jc knows nothing
now it’s THE RETURN OF WINGMAN LXC
The lan bros are watching the yunmeng sibs leave
Lxc: gosh, it’s gonna be quiet here without him, huh? (HIM, HE SAYS, NOT ‘THEM,’ HIM! BC HE TOTALLY KNOWS WHO LWJ IS ACTUALLY WATCHING)
Lwj: *looks down to the floor and refuses to answer*
Lxc: soooo…r u gonna tell him about your Super Important Mission?
Lwj: no. *walks away*
Jeez, he walks off on his big brother a lot, doesn’t he?? Rude. didn’t your parents teach you any manners? Oh wait that was an awful joke and i’m a terrible person, SORRY LWJ
AHHHHHHHHHHH WWX WITH THE BUNNIES!! THIS IS NOT A DRILL, I REPEAT, THIS IS NOT A DRILL.
Wwx: *holding a bunny* Bunny, are you gonna be happy hiding here??
Wwx: *pretending to be the bunny* Happy!!
GUYS THIS SCENE IS JUST TOO CUTE FOR WORDS.
I REWOUND AND WATCHED IT LIKE, 3 TIMES BECAUSE THE CUTENESS WAS JUST UGH I COULDN’T RESIST.
HIS VOICE GOES ALL HIGH PITCHED THE WAY IT DOES WHEN YOU MAKE VOICES FOR YOUR PETS!! IT’S ADORABLE AHHHHH I DIE, I DIE
Wwx: maybe i should take you back to lotus pier with me…?
Wwx: hmm, no, i can’t do that. What if lan zhan gets lonely and comes here looking for you? He won’t be able to find you!!
This is literally what wwx said. Like, that was the deciding factor for not taking the bunny home.
Lan zhan might get lonely. HOW SWEET IS HE. WWX, THE SWEETEST BOY, WHO’S SO IN LOVE AND DOESN’T EVEN KNOW IT YET
Then as he’s bonding with the bunny he gets the epiphany that OMG LWJ IS GOING ON THAT SUPER IMPORTANT MISSION ALONE, WITHOUT HIM
And that’s the end of that episode.
but we got to see the EXACT MOMENT LWJ falls in love for real. And it’s BEAUTIFUL. Not to mention the we were gifted the accidentally-falling-on-top-of-each-other trope.
and we got bunnies! did i mention the bunnies and wwx being adorable together? because that happened.
Ah, this is the show that just gives and gives *wipes away tears* what did we do to deserve it?

Note
1/ >mpreg< wrh won the sunshot campaign, but both his sons still die, so he wants to be repaid. he demands a chosen bride from each sect for his harem and so nhs, jgy, lxc, and even jyl (who is married and left jl as an orphan bc jzx died during the war) and wwx.. he especially wants wwx and so he keeps him separate from the rest, seals his power and brainwashed him, turning him into a pliant bedwarmer whose only job is to provide wrh with more children.
2/ >mpreg< wrh made sure to control his new harem with a tight leash, going so far as to damage their golden cores to weaken them. lwj is going mad bc not only his brother but also his beloved wei ying were taken away to serve wrh. he tried to reach out to other sects, asking them to cooperate to take their hostages back but none of the sects were brave or strong enough to go against wrh, especially after the devastating war.
3/ >mpreg< after thirteen years of gathering intel and strength as well as countless failed infiltration missions, lwj has had enough of it and decided to sneak into nightless city himself. he managed to find his brother and nhs but there were no signs of the others. it broke his heart to see the swollen stomach of his brother as he told him that none of them had seen wwx since he was first taken in. wwx is wrh's favorite, birthing the most children for him out of all of them.
4/ >mpreg< nightless city was crawling with children who look like wrh. lwj told lxc that he's making a plan to help all of them escape. lxc was scared for his children, but didn't object. wrh found out abt lwj sneaking into his castle, but kept hush abt it bc he wants lwj to suffer more. he threatened lxc to act like he was going along with the plan and telling wrh everything or he's going to kill their youngest toddler. he could just put a new one in him, anyway.
5/ >mpreg< lxc just prayed lwj would have enough time to escape when their escape plan fail later. after about a week of hiding in nightless city, lwj stumbled upon a restricted area. he managed to sneak in and he was horrified to find wwx inside, heavily pregnant, but without an ounce of discontent on his face, in fact he looked overjoyed. the man was calmly combing his hair while humming to himself. lwj was so shocked he accidentally made a noise that alerted wei ying of his presence.
6/ >mpreg< "who's there?" wwx immediately grabbed a hairpin for self defense but relaxed when his eyes found it was just lwj. "oh hi lan zhan" he was smiling but it was so unsettling. "why do you hv to sneak in like a mouse? my a-yuan can do better than that when he was five" lwj couldnt move, couldnt say anything. "lan zhan? what's wrong? we haven't met for many years and the first thing you do is sneak into my room and frown at me?"
7/ >mpreg< "wei ying. have to get you out of here" lwj finally uttered. "what? why?" lwj couldnt believe his ears. "why would i want to leave master ruohan and our children?" lwj wished he could just die on the spot. "but- he forced you and the others-" "forced? what are you talking about?" lwj saw wwx was getting agitated and it unnerved him to no end. "if youre coming here just to disturb me then just go!" wwx's voice was getting louder and lwj has no choice but to leave before he was found
8/ >mpreg< a couple weeks later, lwj finally managed to get the last of his plans taken care of. he made a huge distraction that allowed wrh's harem to flee to their designated meeting spot (they came right back in after but lwj never knew that). they could bring the smaller children with their mothers but they would have to leave the older children behind since wrh had had his influence on them already. the only one left was wei ying. he had to get wei ying back no matter what.
9/ >mpreg< lwj didnt care if he would only be able to take wei ying or if wei ying was going to hate him. he couldnt let wei ying go again. he inched closer to wwx's living quarters and he barely got a greeting in before the maidservants announced wrh's arrival. wwx immediately told lwj to hide in his room. wrh came in and wwx all but jumped into his arms. lwj could see everything. he could see wrh kissing he face he dreamt of kissing for so many years, touching the body he dreamt of touching for so many years.
10/ >mpreg< lwj ended up hiding for a good portion of the whole day, trying to close his ears as he heard sounds he once dreamt wei ying would let out only for him. swallowing his own tears as wwx begs wrh to ravish him. wrh didnt leave until wwx woke up from his nap. when he deemed it safe enough, lwj sneaks back out, still wrecking his brain trying to think of ways to convince wwx to leave with him. "wei ying, come back to gusu with me, please" wwx pouts, shaking his head. "im not going anywhere, get lost!" "wei ying please" lwj tried approaching wwx, but he just kept backing away. "get lost!"
11/ >mpreg< lwj kept pushing, maybe if he could just touch wei ying, he could identify and undo whatever spell wrh did on wei ying. wwx kept backing away, replying to all of lwj's pleas with 'get lost'. he wasnt going to let this man who he hadnt seen for so long take everything away from him. soon, there was no more space for wwx to retreat to, trapped between lwj's approaching form and his vanity table. he grabbed a hairpin and swung, slashing lwj's perfect face. blood dripped on the floor, but lwj couldnt care less, not when wei ying is inches away from him. he had to have wei ying back.
12/ >mpreg< lwj was prepared to just hit wwx's pressure points to render him unconscious and carry him outside, his pregnancy be damned, but before he could, wei ying was already screaming. "a-yuan!" it took mere seconds before the door slammed open, revealing a teenager with a sword in his hand. he had wei ying's eyes. he could recognize that shade of silver anywhere, but the glint of malice there was unmistakably wen ruohan's. the teenager charged at lwj, who was caught off guard and it took no time before lwj was subdued and bleeding, kneeling by wwx's bed with the teenager's foot keeping him still. "scum! you dare try to harm my mother?!"
13/ >mpreg< "would never try to harm wei ying.. only want wei ying back" lwj croaks. "preposterous!" wei ying's son (a-yuan, lwj's mind provided) barked. "who do you think you are, to boldly lay claim on my mother? you deserve death for this!" lwj didnt respond. he was focused on wwx sitting in front of him, caressing his baby bump lovingly, creating an image of heavenly bliss, but everything in lwj screamed that it was wrong- wrong, wrong, wei ying is "lan zhan" lwj's world stopped.
14/ >mpreg< wwx looked at lwj in the eyes. his eyes look sad. disappointed. at wangji "why do you keep antagonizing me? back then you kept telling me that i was wrong, kept telling me how i was supposed to be. i know you didnt like me before and i left you alone. now youre here pestering me, as if i have no mind of my own to think and feel. and you ask me to leave with you?never," wwx's eyes hardened with grievance. "i suggest you leave immediately and maybe you'll get to keep your life" lwj's eyes widen. wei ying misunderstood, must tell him- "no, wei ying, youre under a spell. wei ying would never-" lwj wheezed as a sharp kick hit his back. "shut up!" wen yuan growled, "if i hear you speak rubbish one more time i would-" "a-yuan" wwx interrupted. "wen yuan, my beloved firstborn, it's okay. mother's got this," he gave his son an assuring look. then he shifted his gaze back to lwj. "lan zhan, im not under any spell. i really do belong here. you can check" wwx held out one hand for lwj to touch. lwj desperately took the hand. he wanted to relish in the softness of skin at first, the warmth he longed for, but quickly decided something was more important. he checked wwx's meridians, his qi pathways. lwj paled. he could feel nothing.
15/ >mpreg< "why" all the breath left lwj. "wei ying, he- he made you birth so many children, kept you locked here-" wwx's brows arched. "i love my children. i have always wanted a house full of children. master ruohan gave me what i wanted. i bear children for him because i love him" if this was heaven then lwj would rather go to hell.angstymdzsthoughtsOofWas that the last part?reblog-monsterno hold oni have like 1 or 2 moreangstymdzsthoughtsOk
16/ >mpreg< wei ying, his wei ying, his heart, his soulmate, loves-? "i love master ruohan, the father of my children. if he wants me to stay, i will stay. if he wants me to go, i will go. but you, you dont get a say" lwj heaved as wwx pulled his hand back, his heart too heavy and his head too painful. "ah, my bad" wwx gave lwj a side eye. "you know to much now" lwj swore he could saw wwx smirk at wen yuan but nothing mattered anymore. lwj gasped when a sword pierced his chest but it was a welcome pain to numb his aching soul. "just so you know," wwx's eyes glinted with glee as he bends down in a mock attempt to whisper into lwj's ear. "i love being pregnant. i beg master ruohan to breed me again even a few weeks after giving birth. im never going to stop, i cant stop," he giggled and lwj was somehow relieved that wwx's laughter was the last thing he heard before everything dissolved into nothing.
[ending notes] back in gusu, just as everyone was busy with the absence of their sect leader, only a letter came a few days later with a familiar red seal and a bloody headband. someone tried to violate a member of wen ruohan's harem and the perpetrator has been dealt with accordingly. their sect leader never returned.

Sweet Suprise
[ sweet surprise ]
「in which the juniors decide to surprise wei wuxian, and he was definitely surprised」
+ note: this was supposed to be up for wwx’s bday and now it’s time for jc’s bday im cryin !!! anyways, happy belated bday to our favorite necromancer. pls ignore this shitty ass summary,,,
“You— I can’t believe this! You literally ruined everything!”
“Me?! You were the one in my way!”
“Everyone, calm down...”
Why was there so much noise? Wei Wuxian took a curious peak at the door. The shouting behind it did not cease. So much commotion in the Cloud Recesses, in front of their precious Hanguang-Jun’s Jingshi of all places? These Lan Sect disciples were truly becoming more and more shameless with each passing day. Wei Wuxian couldn’t help but laugh to himself. Good! The GusuLan Sect was too stuffy anyways. A little rowdiness was necessary to keep things lively. Yet, he couldn’t help but feel curious. Fixing his robes, he quickly trotted over to open the door. He crossed his arms and wore a stern expression, pretending to scold the juniors.
“Noise is not permitted on the Cloud Recesses, you are all lucky that Hanguang-Jun isn’t here!”
The juniors all froze, and for a moment, Wei Wuxian had to pause as well. The scene in front of him was definitely...out of the ordinary.
There was Jin Ling, his face red with anger. In front of him laid a broken bowl with noodles splattered all around. Then there was Lan Jingyi, his pristine robes were tainted with bright red and orange splatters. Lastly, stood Lan Sizhui who could only wear a bitter smile, looking as though his soul left through his eyes. To say Wei Wuxian was amused would be an understatement. He smirked briefly before letting out a dramatic gasp.
“Sneaking food around? And Jingyi, what happened to your clothes? Just how many rules have you all broken today? Surely you’re not out here trying to break my record! You really are lucky that Hanguang-Jun isn’t here right now! Had he been here, you would be doing handstands and be copying all the Sect Rules by this point!” He teased. The Juniors on the other hand looked as though they had seen a ghost. Lan Jingyi was the first to speak up.
“It’s not my fault! This Young Mistress crashed into me and ruined my clothes!”
“Who are your calling ‘Young Mistress’, I’m the LanlingJin Sect’s leader now! Treat me with more respect! And I wouldn’t have bumped into you if had shut up like I told you to!” Jin Ling fumed.
“You were the one picking fights! If you’re such a sect leader, then take responsibility for dropping the bowl!”!!!!“You!—“
The two boys glared at each other, almost as if they would pull out their swords and start a duel at any moment. Wei Wuxian was about to open his mouth to say something until Lan Sizhui (luckily) beat him to it.
“Please excuse us, Senior Wei. We did not mean to disturb you.” He spoke softly with a polite bow. Wei Wuxian couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride. What a good boy! So polite! Lan Sizhui continued, “The noodles...they were actually for...”
As Sizhui spoke, he noticed a single noodle hanging off of Jingyi’s robe. Curiously, he picked off the single noodle and decided to take an experimental taste.
“What are you doing?! That’s so gross!” Jin Ling gasped with disgust. The taste was actually quite good, spicy in fact, much to his own surprise.
“Wow, this is actually pretty tasty! Just the right amount of heat! I thought you kids didn’t like spicy food? Did you finally get tired of the bland food here? Or had my spicy congee inspired you to expand your tastes! Did you make this yourselves?” Wei Wuxian, grinned.
“I still have nightmares about the congee...” Lan Jingyi grimaced quietly.
“We had help!” Lan Sizhui added with a smile. “And Senior Wei, these noodles were actually for you!”
It was now Wei Wuxian’s turn to be stunned. For him? Why for him all of a sudden? The juniors all looked at him expectantly, he could only blink in confusion.“Me?- Why? What is the occasion?...” he asked curiously. This time, the boys stood in confusion. Lan Sizhui parted his lips, but Jin Ling was faster.
“I knew that you were an idiot but even you can’t possibility be this big of one.” The younger boy in yellow huffed. How rude! Wei Wuxian pouted lightly, crossing his arms once again. Lan Sizhui nudged Jin Ling as Lan Jingyi began to speak.
“Senior Wei, you couldn’t have actually forgotten, could you?” The younger Lan questioned almost sadly. Seeing the boy’s grim expression, Wei Wuxian felt his heart strings tug. What did he forget? With a slight frown, he looked at the noodles once, his eyes widened slightly. These were longevity noodles— which means that— wait, what was today’s date again?
It finally clicked. It must’ve been clear in his expression because Lan Sizhui was the first to brighten up.
“Happy Birthday, Senior Wei!”
That was it. It was his birthday wasn’t it? There was a sudden warmth creeping up in his chest, a warmth that would surely make his heart burst. Without another thought, a genuinely happy smile graced his features.
These boys— these little brats, how did they find out? Somehow, he had an inkling that a certain Hanguang-Jun had something to do with it.
“So that’s what this is about!” Wei Wuxian exclaimed with a soft laugh. Lan Jingyi seemed to cheer up too, even Jin Ling looked a little relieved. He didn’t remember the last time he really celebrated his birthday, then again, there was a lot of things he didn’t remember. “These are longevity noodles, right?” Wei Wuxian inquired as he pointed down at the noodles in the grass. Lan Jingyi nodded eagerly.
“Yes! We wanted to wish you a long and happy life but...” the younger Lan turned to sent a small scowl at Jin Ling. “Someone had to go and drop it!” Jin Ling only scowled back. “I-“ the boy started defensively before letting out a defeated sigh. “I’m...sorry...” Wei Wuxian blinked before smiling fondly. Wishing the nefarious Yiling Patriarch a long and happy life, he found it somehow ironic. He reached out to gently ruffle Jin Ling’s hair.
“Hahaha! Jin Ling, you are becoming so mature! Taking responsibly like that! I’m so proud! Though it would’ve been nice to eat those noodles...” he teased. Jin Ling was quick to swat his hand away. “You!- Don’t touch me you idiot!-“ he huffed. Lan Sizhui simply smiled.
“We can make another bowl.”
“Yeah! Jin Ling, this time you better not just stand there!”
“I wasn’t just standing there, I was just making sure that you weren’t going to mess up!”
Wei Wuxian watched as the Juniors argued before lightly waving his hand.“It’s fine, it’s fine! There’s no need to go through the trouble of making another bowl. I’m touched that you all even made one to begin with it.” It was true. Of all things, he hadn’t really expected the children to come surprise him on his birthday, especially when it slipped his own mind. It made his heart do all sorts of flips, but Lan Sizhui was adamant.
“Senior Wei, it’s no trouble at all. This is something we want to do.” The boy wore a sunny smile. “Senior Wei has done a lot for us. Protected us, took care of us— we want to do something for you too.”
Lan Jingyi chimed in right after.
“You’re not as scary as the stories make you out to be. You’re a little weird, but you’re still pretty cool too!” Wei Wuxian stood quietly, his heart filled a plethora of new emotions. He was quite used to being cursed and reviled. The Yiling Patriarch had committed all sorts of atrocities after all. He got used to it, maybe at some point he started expecting it.
Sometimes, he forgets that despite being so reviled, not everybody felt that way. Sometimes, he didn’t quite understand why.
Jin Ling stood quietly, his fist clenching and unclenching as if he wanted to say something. “You!...” he started off, his face slightly scrunched up as if it pained him to speak. “You are not particularly bad.” Wei Wuxian felt his heart clench. Jin Ling should’ve been the one to hate him the most.
“Young Man, you are not particularly bad yourself.” He teased with a shaky voice. Dammit. Was he really getting so emotional in front of the kids? Because of the kids? Since when had be become so soft?
It happened so quickly. Maybe it was the shakiness in his voice. Maybe it was the way his eyes were glistening. Lan Sizhui did something quite impulsive. Much to Wei Wuxian’s surprise, the elder Lan threw his arms around him, hugging him tightly.
“Happy Birthday, Senior Wei.”
For a moment he was shocked, and perhaps, he shouldn’t have been. This was his A-Yuan after all, right? The same A-Yuan who used to cling to his Xian Xian Gege’s leg. Lan Jingyi was next, shouting happily as he crashed into Wei Wuxian, hugging him as well.
“Happy Birthday, Senior Wei!”
His lower lip trembled. He cautiously brought his gaze to meet Jin Ling’s. The petulant boy wore a conflicted expression, one that screamed “Don’t you dare think I’m joining in”. And yet, not even a moment later, another pair of arms clung to him hesitantly. He almost missed the soft mumble coming from the boy.
“Happy Birthday.”
If Wei Wuxian wasn’t feeling emotional before, he was surely being stabbed by all sorts of emotions now. So warm, he thought to himself. He felt so warm. He wrapped his own arms around the children, hugging them close to him. He closed his eyes, memories of Shijie’s pork rib and lotus root soup filled his mind. He could practically hear Jiang Cheng whine grumpily about how unfair it was that they were celebrating their birthday’s together because the dates were so close. Madame Yu would be scolding him. “You’re getting older now! Don’t even thinking about fooling around!” was what she would say. Then there was Uncle Jiang, always looking at him with the kindest smile.
When he opened his eyes, he hadn’t even realized the few stray tears that fell down his cheeks.
“Thank you.” He whispered quietly.
He was used to being cursed. He was used to being hated. He was used to being reviled. He was alright with it. He never asked for forgiveness, because how could he? But this warm feeling— this feeling of being so loved, was precious. These children were precious. He hadn’t realized how much he missed this sort of feeling.
The Juniors let got moments later, each wearing a fond smile. He couldn’t help but smile back fondly. Shameless children, he wanted to say. Instead, Wei Wuxian crouched to the ground, looking at the mess of noodles.
“Ah! Hopefully all these noodles are still intact. You all do know what happens if a longevity noodle is cut, right?” He smiled slyly, his voice full of mischief. The boys stood quietly, unsure of what he meant until Lan Jingyi shouted in panic.
“If they get cut, your life span will shorten!” Wei Wuxian whistled before grinning. “Congratulations! You are correct!” Jin Ling suddenly paled.
“T-That’s just a superstition right? It c-can’t actually happen, right?” The flustered boy stuttered. Wei Wuxian simply shrugged, finding it way too fun to tease the boys. Of course, Lan Sizhui had a solution.
“Then we will surely make another bowl, this one won’t count!”
“Let’s make another bowl then! Jin Ling, you better help out!”
“I was helping out before! And you- change your clothes first!”
“Let’s go, let’s go!”
Wei Wuxian watched as the boys ran off, Lan Sizhui turned to look back at him once more with a gentle smile.
“Please wait for us, Senior Wei, we’ll be back soon.”Wei Wuxian smiled back.“I’ll be right here.”
“Lan Zhan, were you the one you told the children it was my birthday?” Wei Wuxian inquired his husband later that afternoon. Lan Wangji had arrived back into their Jingshi not too long ago and Wei Wuxian was buzzing with curiosity. The taller man looked at him, his beautiful face was seemingly expressionless.
“En.”
Wei Wuxian jutted out his lower lip. He lazily approached his husband, his arms languidly draping around Lan Wangji’s neck.
“Why bother? It’s not that important of a thing.” He felt a pair of strong arms circle around his waist. Someone else might think that Lan Wangji was wearing a cold and uncaring expression, but Wei Wuxian could see the softness and the sincerity in his light colored eyes. Even now, it still made his heart skip a couple beats.
“It is important.” Lan Wangji stated as if it were a fact. Wei Wuxian tilted his head, waiting for Lan Wangji to explain. “It is important because you were born,” Lan Wangji assured with a small smile. Lan Wangji didn’t smile often, but when he did, Wei Wuxian swore the world stopped just for one moment. His heart melted each time.
“Lan Zhan! How can you say something so cheesy? You’re making my heart beat so fast! You must take responsibility for this!” Wei Wuxian whined playfully. Lan Wangji nodded.
“Will do, tonight.”
“Huh?-“ Wei Wuxian almost choked. “Lan Zhan, how can you be so shameless?!”
Without a response, Lan Wangji hugged him close. Wei Wuxian buried his face into his shoulder. The world cursed the day the Yiling Patriarch was born but this beautiful person in front of him was thankful for it. His heart was really going to burst.
“The Juniors made me a bowl of noodles to surprise me, you know? I was so shocked. Did you perhaps tell them to?” Wei Wuxian asked, his fingers playing with Lan Wangji’s inky, long hair. There was a moment of silence.
“I only told them the date of your birth. Whatever they did after was out of their own will.”
He smiled softly into Lan Wangji’s shoulders, feel the warmness wash over him once again. In the end, the Juniors came back with another bowl of noodles, Wei Wuxian happily gobbled it up with the three boys as company. It was nothing out of the ordinary, but knowing that the kids had made it with such sweet intentions somehow made it taste like the best bowl of noodles he ever had.
“They are good kids.”
“They like you very much.”
Wei Wuxian pulled away to look at Lan Wangji, the man seemed to be wearing a somewhat satisfied expression.
“Say, Lan Zhan...” Wei Wuxian began, “Where have you been all morning? You didn’t tell me earlier!” Lan Wangji let go of his wrist and began to fish out something from his sleeves. He pulled out a few pouches. Inside, they were full with all sorts of sweets and candies. Wei Wuxian’s eyes widened.
“You snuck in sweets into the Cloud Recesses? How bold of you, Second Master Lan! Aren’t they prohibited unless it’s a special occasion?” Lan Wangji nodded.
“Today is a special occasion.” Once again, Wei Wuxian felt is heart melt completely. He really, really loved Lan Wangji. Really loved him. Loved him so, so much.
Lan Wangji handed him a pouch, but Wei Wuxian grabbed his wrist instead, pulling him for a gentle kiss. His expression was bright. “You and the kids— breaking the rules for me! I’ve become such a bad influence on you all!” Wei Wuxian laughed.
“If it’s for you, it’s okay.” Lan Wangji smiled softly, gently placing a hand against his cheek. Wei Wuxian’s breath hitched. So sincere. This time, he couldn’t hold himself back. Wei Wuxian hugged Lan Wangji’s neck and peppered sweet little kisses all over his face.
“You make me so happy.” He whispered quietly against Lan Wangji’s skin. The other’s arms were back around his waist. They stood together like this for a few moments, enjoying each other’s warmth and embrace. Wei Wuxian was first to break the silence.
“Lan Zhan, can we go to Caiyi Town today?”
“En.”
“Just the two of us?”
“En.”
“Will you drink with me?”
“...”
Lan Wangji’s expression seemed a little conflicted. Wei Wuxian bursted out laughing.
“Lan Zhan! You’re too cute! You don’t have to drink with me if you don’t want to!”
“I will.”
“Eh?”Their eyes locked and Lan Wangji spoke again.
“I will drink with you.”
Wei Wuxian blinked before grinning. He brought up his hand to lightly pinch Lan Wangji’s cheek. “Lan Zhan, I love you so much.” He felt a pair of lips against his forehead.
“Love you too.” Again, the two of them were enveloped into a comfortable silence.
“Wei Ying.”
Wei Wuxian looked up at Lan Wangji. “Yeah?”
“Happy Birthday.”
It really was.
