How I THINK the tbhk characters would feel about imaginary numbers
Hanako- “isn’t this math why are there letters” ass kid
Nene- ????? So confused, they give her a head ache
Kou- thinks that the one 3D graph he was shown was cool looking, does not get it
Aoi- Gets them, does not like them, I think they light a rage in her soul more than they should
Mitsuba- why would I have an opinion on a math concept???? What??
Akane- Enjoys math and imagery numbers more than one probably should (got sad when the teacher said to ignore them because we don’t go into 3D in highschool(and honestly disappointed in himself that he thinks there so cool and fun))
Teru- can use them, understands them, thinks they’re difficulty is overhyped. Does not think about them after they are one the test
Tsukasa- “WHAt????!?!?? Can I eat it!!?!!?”
Natsuhiko- “How are numbers even imaginary… what does that even mean??”
Sakura- could learn them and use them, but does not care to bother herself with that

TBHK CHARACTERS WITH A FRIENDLY S/O
toilet bound hanako kun - headcanons
HANAKO KUN / AMANE YUGI
𐙚 he loves it AND he hates it at the same time
𐙚 you're so nice to everyone and he wants you to be nice to HIM! :(
𐙚 in all seriousness he loves how sweet you are to him and to everyone, he sees it as a contrast to everything else in his world
𐙚 he does hate how kind you are to ANYONE though, especially tsukasa
𐙚 when you first met tsukasa, you didn't even take into account all the violence, you just introduced yourself!
"hi!! you're tsukasa right! i'm (your name) it's so amazing to meet you i love meeting new people... or ghosts!"
𐙚 you're so chipper all the time it's not hard to keep up with you, he can see your positive aura from miles away!
TSUKASA YUGI
𐙚 he loves it... only when it's to him!
𐙚 i mean how can you blame him! you're HIS partner you shouldn't be nice to anyone but him!:(
𐙚 anytime you're being a little too nice (in his eyes) to anyone that's not him, he either wraps his whole body around you or takes you away immediately
𐙚 and of course you don't get upset about it! you love him too much to be mad at him
𐙚 no matter what, if you're talking to someone, whether it be kou or sakura, he WILL make himself known
𐙚 everyone has to know that your kindness doesn't mean affection! you're affection is for him only
KOU MINAMOTO
𐙚 he absolutely adores it!
𐙚 he loves how kind you are to everyone and it adds a perfect balance to your relationship
𐙚 he's always freaking out about something, and you always being so nice to him helps him calm down and think a bit clearer
𐙚 he does get a bit jealous when you're giving others the same friendliness you give him but when you go on to give him a kiss and a praise about how amazing he is!
𐙚 on that note, everytime you give him a compliment, he goes crazy! and it happens a lot since you love doing it :3
𐙚 he doesn't like when you're kind to the apparitions and the wonders because he's worried that it'll cause more harm than good to you, he just loves you so much he would die if anything bad happened to you especially at the expensive of something he exposed you to :(
YASHIRO NENE
𐙚 she absolutely adores it!
𐙚 unlike the others she doesn't see any way your kindness could hurt you
𐙚 your friendliness is the reason she fell in love with you at the start!
𐙚 she loves when you get along with hanako, mitsuba and the other apparitions
𐙚 she is genuinely so attracted to your kindness and it's no secret either! anytime you say anything nice to anyone she just admires you and fangirls to herself :3
𐙚 she gets so flustered anytime you compliment her she's the embodiment of >w<
𐙚 knowing that you care for her more than anyone, she clings onto you a lot, and she adores that you don't even push her away or anything you just hold onto her closely
𐙚 you and her are the cutest and kindest couple out there! you and her are just two balls of sunshine :3
i've never written for tbhk i hope you guys like it 😓

The cat from the past
Can we call him that? I know, I know, you must have seen thousands of theories, thoughts and bets about the identity of our newest character, the black cat.
But, instead of comparisons, let's think about possibilities based on the current reality and a little on the old one.
Everything is based on Kako's main thought, about "getting rid" of the root of the problem, not being Tsukasa, but the entity inside him.
Still, he tells Amane that, if Tsukasa is an impostor, he needs to cease to exist, not in those words, but in the literal sense that his existence has no purpose if that is not the real Tsukasa.
Theoretically speaking, of course.
But, still, Kako was unable to get rid of the entity, without Tsukasa the entity was more "free", that's because the yorishiros no longer exist, as well as the seven mysteries.
And that's strange, don't you think?
If Kako's goal was to pull out the root, then why is the entity still there?
The red house remains in the same place, with Amane possessed, but still conscious. If Amane is still conscious, if he can show feelings, the ones that Tsuchigomori and Nene were able to feel, then that is still Amane - something that Nene recognized, it is the Amane that she knew, but in a different form.

Here we have the main theme of the work, rooted in the phrase "would you love someone even if they became something completely different? If they took another form, would they still be that person?".
This theme is in the relationship of the twins, Aoi and Akane, Kou and Mitsuba, and even mentioned for the first time in the Yako arc, where she became something different, but was still her.

That was Amane, the one he hid when he became Hanako, the one he avoided over the years and knew Nene would fear.
And him having memories of his childhood when he saw Kako, only strengthens this thought even more.

But what about Tsukasa?
The little boy who showed no apparent feelings, empty eyes while he became "that thing".
So, here is the root.
What did Kako do so that Tsukasa would not become the yorishiro?
The entity said that he sacrificed everyone, Tsukasa, the twins' parents, and well, Tsukasa died early, four years old, like in the other reality.
In the other reality he sacrificed himself because he had a wish.
In the current reality, Amane said that he sacrificed Tsukasa.
It means that the entity tricked him, or that Amane was never sick.
Which makes everything even more confusing, he died at four years old, and Kako was with Amane at that time, saying that he could change the future.
Why would Amane want to change the past/future if everything was fine?
If he wasn't sick, Tsukasa wouldn't disappear, he wouldn't want to change anything, right?
So, Tsukasa sacrificed himself for Amane's health, but in that short period, Kako came back and made a proposal to Amane, probably so he could have Tsukasa back.
Tsukasa from the old reality had no interest in going back, and he did it to find out why and how Amane was going to kill him.
What would motivate Tsukasa from this reality to come back?
That's where the answer lies.
Kako wasn't interested in making deals (theoretically) I imagine he tried to force Tsukasa to do something he wanted, but the boy didn't do it, just as the entity wouldn't allow it.
Let's look at the "punishment" that Tsukasa would have, being a servant of the clock guardians, so that he could be kept under control?
Tsukasa hadn't been punished for what he did yet, had he?
Rumors say that whoever tampers with the clock, the guardians will steal the time of that person's life, how could they steal Tsukasa's life?
Servitude?
A punishment would be to simply take the boy's spirit and place it in a cat-shaped toy (even though he said he's not a toy), where it would work for Kako and be kept under control.
An interesting idea, isn't it?
Yes, but it's not that useful.
Despite everything, Kako's main objective was not achieved.
The entity is still there.
BUT
This made me wonder… if the entity is still there and Tsukasa, theoretically, has become a servant, then, the entity wasn't the problem?
If absolutely everything, yorishiros, the seven mysteries, have disappeared and the entity is still there, free, both in the school and in the city, then was the problem really Tsukasa?
The entity is there, but Mei, Kou's mother, Mitsuba, are alive, suggesting that the deaths are linked to the boy.
What was different about Tsukasa for the entity?
If the child Tsukasa we saw at school in the current reality was not him, but a representation (perhaps) of him, or a part of him, was not as dangerous as the real one, then what did he do?
Tsukasa from the current reality still grants wishes, but needs to be summoned.
The old Tsukasa is summoned only by the desire from the bottom of the heart, no rituals are needed.
It seems that Kako discovered Tsukasa's objective and intervened.
Or, in another hypothesis, Kako just didn't want to be a guardian anymore, as Teru suggested.
If the current reality comes true, his yorishiro will disappear. The Yugi family will succumb, as will everyone else, except Nene.
Maybe Kako was just being selfish and making Tsukasa become a servant, because the boy is too smart for him to be able to "get rid of the poisoned root".
It's funny, if the cat is in fact Tsukasa, he just seems to be having fun.
Remember, the twelve-year-old Tsukasa will still appear at some point, he seems to be waiting for it.
The cat, if it is Tsukasa, which it seems to be, seems to know everything, or, part of everything. He is a supernatural, if Nene and the others remember, so does he, even though Kako tried to affect his memory (like he did with Amane).
Tsukasa was waiting for this, as if he had planned the whole thing. He's the boy who can travel through time using the house, it wouldn't be the first time.
It's as if he's showing Nene that in most cases, he and Amane wouldn't be able to grow up together.
It still makes me wonder if Kako just didn't want to get involved with that entity and no longer serve any God, to be free in his own way.
As always, just confused and jumbled thoughts, don't take it too seriously.

I really love this little quiz

Because it tells us a LOT about each character:
Straight off the bat, Akane, Natsuhiko, Aoi, Mitsuba, Teru, Hanako, Tsuchigomori and Sakura all have secrets.
This was actually incredible foreshadowing for characters like Natsuhiko and Mitsuba, whose secrets were revealed in later chapters.
Some are more obvious, like Hanako's secret, and some we have yet to discover, such as Tsuchigomori's, Sakura's and Teru's (unless his crush counts as the secret).
Now for the fun stuff :)
Hanako:
- He likes exercising! Unsurprising with how much fun he was having during the picture perfect arc while in pe.
- He would not be the first to confess, yippee more foreshadowing

He's generally an action over words guy, and probably gets shy actually needing to express his feelings verbally.
Teru:
- He'd also wait for a confession! It's a pretty common topic of debate so I'm happy there's an answer, and also the better answer. It adds more depth to his character.
- He's also a good leader.. he is charismatic but "good" as in "people like him as their leader" is debatable.
Akane:
- Ngl, not much is new. He too likes exercising, and is stubborn especially when confessing.
Natsuhiko:
- He's not actually that stubborn! The rest is well known
Tsuchigomori:
- He dislikes exercising, which is perfectly in character I love that for him (。ノω\。).
- He's curious! That must be hell when you're the fifth wonder.
Both him and Sakura are dog people, which surprised me for half a second before I thought about it:

Yeah no damn wonder.
Sakura:
- She's not curious! If I was an immortal being who knew practically everything I don't think I'd be too curious either, so fair
Aoi:
- She's a cat person, which is rather sad actually (as they dislike her)
- She has a good poker face ofc
Mitsuba:
- He hates exercising yay
- He is a cat person. *Air punch*
- He has a terrible poker face, which I think I need to draw now actually
Mokkes:
- They like sciences over liberal arts. huh.
Tsukasa:
- He isn't easily sacred!
- Likes science, he did use it to create an artificial spirit, so that tracks
Nene:
- Susceptible to trends, which we've seen first hand with the mokke hat
- She takes care of others more than they take care of her :(
Yako:
- Taken care of as she should be
Kou:
- Eats strategically
- He doesn't care much for trends, as Mitsuba loves pointing out
Shijima:
- She eats the best part of her meal first, that doesn't say too much but it's a cute detail :D
That's all! I'm the Aoi type btw ( ̄y▽, ̄)╭

(Tbhk chapter 121 spoilers)
Now for my obligatory monthly tbhk rant post:
OH GOD, OH DEAR GOD
IT’S BEEN VERBALLY SAID, KOU AND MITSUBA ARE IN THE WELL 😭

Like you knew that they were by the implication of last chapter, but now that they said they’re in there, the impact really hits.
Kou and the Mitsuba of this world who promised each other that they’d live a full life ignoring whatever happened in their past life. A Kou and mitsuba who never had to deal with mitsuba’s death, immediately fucking died and are in the well.
This means that mitsuba’s spirit is still probably wandering the house, if he hasn’t joined the other house spirits or passed to the far shore.
And I want to curse out AidaIro for literally killing everyone, reading this chapter I verbally said, “oh god they’re all dying.”

And once again the weight of her friends lives is on Nene, even in a world which was supposed to be their escape, where they were supposed to live untangled with the supernatural.
Something must have cursed them with this fate, as why would Kou and mitsuba be led to the red house with an empty form. I wonder is the red house transcends timelines in some way, like despite still having Tsukasa sacrifice himself for Amane, they end up back at the red house.
And poor Akane, he went through changing the timelines to try and make everyone happy. Where they were able to live in a world where none of them needed to die. And yet here they are at the red house, probably about to die.
I wonder how Nene is gonna react to seeing Hanako in their original timeline, after knowing that he could have easily become what he is in this chapter, after seeing him so nonchalantly kill and hurt her friends.
I also wonder is that personality that we see in the red house is influenced by the red house spirit, in the past chapters, he looks confused and acts harmless.
Oh and this image

I don’t think that Kou and Mitsuba are in this image, as it would take away from the whole unseen horror thing. And I can’t see Kou’s traffic safety earring, or their school uniforms. But seeing the corpses really just sets in that the Yugi Amane (possibly possessed) of this world is a serial killer.
And once again AidaIro has bestowed another horribly sad chapter to us. Despite our sorrow and lack of hope for any sort of happy ending, we are not able to escape tbhk’s grip. Thanks a lot AidaIro for being an amazingly good writer, because I don’t often read manga with a lot of death, but I am physically unable to pull myself away from this series.
I think Tbhk has a bad impression on the outside of the fandom, due to the weird name and sort of generic first few chapters. I have friends who dropped it after watching the anime, and every time I hear that I’m like, “noo, read it, the anime left out literally all the plot. The cut the clock keeper arc and watered down everything.”
Once you make it past hell of mirrors in the manga, everything gets just better and better.
I love my emotional discomfort manga ❤️

Mitsukou Analysis: Alteration Arc
(I should really get to organizing all my analyses)
The end times have come. I must analyze the most heart breaking moment of JSHk, and this is also where these analyses come rot an end, at least until an entire new arc finishes up. However, there will be a part two (mostly because I don't have the emotional strength to cover chapter 120)
Without further ado, let’s go…! (Forced enthusiasm)

My overly Korean grandma bows for everything, and I think that rubbed off on me, because that bow Kou just did is something I have to refrain from doing every time I'm sorry/thankful (just picture me doing this at least 5 times whenever I say "I'm so, sincerely sorry!" or "Oh my goodness, thank you so, so much!")
Anywayyyyssss... I'm glad to see how Mitsuba and Kou are still friends, and best at that. Which is kind of an... odd decision to make, on Aidairo's part.
Given that in all Twitter AUs as well as bonus art Mitsuba and Kou are always good friends, and they’re so close in the New Timeline- it’s almost as though Aidairo’s trying to say no matter what, Kou and Mitsuba are always friends.
You know what that reminds me of? The red string of fate (aka the mermaid scale) binding Hanako and Nene across time and space. And we all know Hanako and Nene are infamous for being friends, just friends, nothing more, purely platonic friends

Then again, Kou’s special relationship with Mitsuba might not be so special after all, since he gave Nene that ticket without remembering the old world.

It’s a bit… I don’t know, concerning that we don’t see any tears from Teru or Kou about their mother being alive in this timeline/their mother being dead in the last one.
I get it was a long time ago, and both Minamotos have been shown to have healed since then. Teru is sorta desensitized to death, and to Kou, it’s just a fact of life he has to get over.
But come on, this was Kou’s number one wish! I expected a little stronger reaction!

Something I was wondering was, why did Kou and Sousuke (since Mitsuba in this timeline seems a lot closer to Sousuke than No. 3) forget things, while the people involved with the clockkeeper’s trial kept their memories?
You might be thinking, “well duh Camellia, you just said it, it’s because they were involved in the trial.”
But the thing is, there is no established reason why participants in the trial retained their memories, or at least recovered them faster, over the non participants.
Honestly, it would be counter intuitive for Kako and Mirai (let’s be honest Akane couldn’t do shit to stop them) to allow the participants to keep memories of the old world, considering our most powerful character is in that party: Teru. I’m really hoping it’s not just a plot hole Aidairo forgot to patch, and that it actually means something
Also, why haven’t we gotten a Minamoto dad reveal yet? Is Aidairo saving it for a future plot twist?

I wasn’t going to include this panel until I took a closer look at the background, where Sousuke’s mom is black out drunk.
I’m sorry, what?! Sousuke’s mom, in the old timeline, is a sweet, sincere, still grieving woman who cared deeply for her late son. Never are we shown signs of her being an alcoholic.
I can’t tell if it affects Mitsuba’s quality of living, or if this is a one time thing. Does this mean if Mitsuba were alive she would be a worse person?

This is quite a calculated move on Mitsuba’s part. Just as Kou said, he’s a scaredy-cat who would never willingly come to the school at night, so something had to have changed.
It’s… probably not his underclassmen. Mitsuba has never been shown to be social, other than joining the photography club and even then when Kou visited them to investigate Sousuke's grave they told him he was never really close to other members.
So, it's either one of the following:
He wanted to talk to Kou about the "dream"
He had some weird sense it was related to Tsukasa

Oh so they dream about each other now (see After School Hanako-kun)
This has nothing to do with their relationship I just wanted to say that (Aidairo probably didn't mean it like that but I'm taking the win regardless)

Kou has been actively avoiding discussing Mitsuba's death with him, and that is completely understandable: the dude his 90% of his trauma for heaven's sake!
However, Mitsuba isn't shying away from the topic at all, consistently approaching Kou about it.
And this is weird as hell.
Mitsuba's situation in the new timeline is arguably worse than any other character since both iterations live inside of him which must be such an unpleasant feeling, and on top of that, the guy that would bring up the worst memories is now his best friend (okay I take it back things could be worse *ahem ahem YUGI TWINS*)

God, this is heart breaking to read...
RUN, RUN LITTLE MITSUKOU BEFORE ITS TOO LATEEEEE
Desperate attempts to save my children aside, apparently the Red House can just randomly change paperwork to draw victims in.
I'm quite confused as to how it does this, and doubly confused when it comes to the photo Sousuke took that suddenly developed into a pic of the Red House.
It's most likely due to Amane using the powers he got from the hole god, but we don't know what he really is.
The science prep room Nene stumbled into was so long ago it was since converted into a storage room. But in the photos inside the photo album are of modern-looking astronomy technology. If Amane was born in 1955, and we can estimate adult Amane to be ~20 years old, these pictures were taken in the '70s.
If he isn't born in 1955, then could that be the change Kako and MIrai made? But it doesn't cause that powerful ripple effect required...
Now, I am no expert in telescopes, but these do not look like they were made in 1970.
Also. Teru mentions no rumors surround the Red House, which either means it's reality warping effect has gotten much stronger or the house has gotten weaker. Given that Aidairo likes to make things ten times worse, it's most likely the latter, so does this mean the Red House only draws in people connected to the old timeline/those with spiritual energy?
#dang lotsa questions in this analysis#i apologize for all the unrelated theories :(#see this is where my korean bowing manifests itself#jshk#toilet bound hanako kun#tbhk#mitsukou#tbhk manga#kou minamoto#jibaku shounen hanako kun#mitsuba sousuke#kou minamoto x mitsuba sousuke#tbhk analysis#jshk analysis#my mind is so dead#so any inaccuracies are entirely mine

119 Thoughts
The recent chapter was... good!! Great, even!! We got a lot of answers and the new developments felt straightforward enough to follow. Still not fully comfortable with my interpretation yet, but honestly I'm just happy to be along for the ride.
Anyway, I wanted to write my thoughts down just to make sure I have everything straight going forward. There's a lot going on and some of my older theories have been debunked!
First, I'd like to point out what I think is pretty obvious and say that Kou must be possessed right now. The specifics are unclear but in my head this is still Kou, he's just being manipulated by the Red House or something. One thing I find interesting though is that he's overall really innocent... he doesn't do anything to put Nene in danger that she doesn't do herself. Nene is the one who decides to risk it all and talk to Amane, after all. The only thing I can say Kou did bad is separate her from the group and take her to Amane. Whatever is controlling Kou might be aware that Nene would drop her defenses around Amane and use that to their advantage.
Mitsuba's part in all of this is still a mystery, but I have to wonder if he will try to trick the Akane/Aoi/Teru trio whenever we jump back to them. I'm suspecting that they won't convene with Nene right away, though I have no idea how Nene will fare in the next chapter... (could she join Mitsuba and Kou and become the Red House's puppet!? I could easily see her tricking Aoi!)
Anyway, moving onto Yugi-sensei, I loved the glimpse into his headspace we got in this chapter. It seems like he's under the delusion everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) is happier in this timeline, which is quite interesting. It almost makes me wonder if the Clock Keepers made him like this to ensure the timeline stayed this way. They told Baby Amane that the future changed, after all, which is... honestly quite disturbing. While I think it was foolish for the Clock Keepers' goal to be to get rid of Tsukasa in the first place, I don't think they'd make such a big mistake by telling Amane the future changed and traumatizing him. The possibility that the Clock Keepers made Amane this way for the good of the world would be a thrilling twist, I think!
I also think this could explain his other curious behavior. Many have wondered why Amane spreads rumors about Tsukasa-kun and why he smirks when school kids summon Tsukasa-kun, and it seems the reason is because he thinks Tsukasa is happy this way. The fact that this Tsukasa is the age Tsukasa disappeared, too, probably helps with this because Amane might still be under the assumption that the Tsukasa who came back after their 4th birthday was a fake. Now obviously, this Amane doesn't have all his memories yet, but it's extremely likely they're just buried inside of him and--unbeknownst to him--influencing his current actions. Either way, I think it's clear that Amane is under the delusion that Tsukasa is happy torturing kids at school. (...and who's to say whether he is or isn't!!!)
All of the souls trapped in the Red House might be in a similar situation, where Amane is under the delusion he's making them happy. I wonder if his parents are part of them...? I'm just thinking that Kou's cheerfulness this chapter is really relevant. He's so happy to just be with Nene and seems to have zero worries at all. It's honestly kinda creepy, when you consider how he was in the previous chapter!
Now hear me out. I'm not usually one to wish harm on Nene, but it would be interesting if Nene got captured and got to meet Amane's parents, assuming they got trapped in the Red House too. I proposed the theory that Kou has just been brainwashed but it could very well be a fake Kou, and if she got to team up with Kou and Mitsuba I think that'd make for an amusing trio. Especially since we have another trio in the house right now with Akane, Teru and Aoi. We could have Nene trapped and trying to escape while a fake evil Nene tries to trick them... that could be so fun!!! (Writing fanfiction at this point lol)
If we go along with the theory that Kou is fake, perhaps the souls trapped in the Red House also have fake body doubles? You'll notice that they are very obviously not happy, considering the way they urged Mitsuba to run away and escape. But I really cannot think for another explanation for Kou's behavior in this chapter. Amane's ominous line about everyone being happy plus Kou being so cheerful just feel so connected! Perhaps the happiness once instilled in the poor souls trapped in the Red House eventually wore off, proving how fake their happiness was in the first place. (Or perhaps I've gone off the deep end.)
In any case, I really wonder what the point of oddly cheerful fake/brainwashed Kou is. I can only assume it's to try and trick Nene into thinking this new world is better. The motives don't seem very malicious, despite all the harm it's bringing. Amane genuinely wants people to be happy, and I think the Red House is working with him to make his dreams a disturbing reality.
I just wonder where Tsukasa is... is he trapped in the Red House, too? Or is he trapped inside the school, inside Tsukasa-kun? What if he's trapped as a child, unable to grow up, because the innocent little brother that left Amane on their birthday is the only true Tsukasa in Amane's eyes? How well did the Clock Keepers do at getting rid of Tsukasa, anyway...? He can't really be gone, can he!?
Ahh, but anyway!!! Thanks for reading if you got this far. And if Amane really prefers Baby Tsukasa then I suppose I can't complain. I mean, just look at him!!
He is so freakin' CUTE!!!! Grahhh!!!! ♡♡♡♡

Hello! :) I did some fanart of Mitsuba and Tsukasa (kinda)!
At first I wanted to do one of Kou but this idea with Mitsuba was too good to pass up.
The angle I was going for was trying to show Mitsuba’s helplessness. In his eyes the only person who can help him with his one and only wish is Tsukasa, the person who caused him to exist without experiencing humanity, the person that mistreats him. He’s too desperate, too scared to leave. He’s reaching for salvation that he’s unsure is there, a salvation no one is sure he should really want. Should he trust someone like Tsukasa? Of course not, but he’s desperate.
I like how it turned out, though I struggled a lot with the lighting and text for a while 😅 Though Kou’s my fav Mitsuba is still a close second just because of how I love the concept of him. He’s definitely harder to explain to people who haven’t watched the show before. I was drawing this while hanging out with a friend and she wasn’t getting it. I can’t blame her, I’m bad at explaining things and it’s a bit hard to fully explain TBHK.
Spoilers for TBHK recent chapters: What’s going on rn is wild! Almost everyone is dead it’s so depressing. I’ve seen a lot of theories abt who that cat is. Personally I feel it being Hanako makes the most sense. We saw him fixing the clock, after all. Not to mention how he saved her from getting her arm snapped just like he would do all the time in the previous timeline. His mannerisms overall just give Hanako. I can’t wait for them to get back to the real world, but I’m still wondering how their going to deal with the events of the school festival bc too many people are dying in that timeline, including Mitsuba.
And it seems like next chapter will let us meet the Clock Keepers! Backstory? 👀 And they won’t let this time, one stay after Akane straight up died (probably), right? Right??? 😃
Anyways, have a good week and day or night! If you’re currently having a bad time, I hope things get better for you! Bye!

ohhh now that youve said that you feel like tsukasa having a crush on nene is canon, can you show panels/moments that you feel solidify it? i really like that aspect but to me it always felt a bit more like a fascination on tsukasas side,,, 'what girl is amane so enamoured with?' id love to be convinced... also, do you think nene in some way also likes tsukasa? or is does she see him purely as amanes (creepy, adorable) younger brother? either way,,, tsunene my beloved,,, tragically overlooked by almost everyone </3
I can't say Tsukasa is completely self-aware of his crush on Nene-chan, but I think he enjoys & looks forward to interactions with her in a unique way...
he clearly sees her as Amane's Property, this obviously tempers him & I don't think he sees himself 'having a chance' with her or ever being liked back ..... but I think over their years & timelines of intersection, he on-and-off feels something flickering in his chest for her. But I think it's rather obscured to Tsukasa himself, who has only had the priority of Amane, for his entire life.
It's irrelevant what he might like, or want. It couldn't mean less, in the grand fate of the world, that he feels something for Nene-chan. His purpose is to die for Amane's happiness. Not seek his own. He isn't important in that way. He's not meant to have this ending.
I think hints are peppered in their entire dynamic-- the very trusting of Amane's life story & fate to Nene-chan speaks to a very charitable view of her, in my opinion. She's key to everything. Tsukasa surely sees this as a special, sacred, wonderful thing... Amane's heart, Amane's happiness, Amane's future. He's willing to open dozens of doors to give it all to Nene-chan. That in and of itself is an act of love, to me .... I guess in some way, I don't think it could be less? He must see her as lovable. It must be clear this is the person who can deliver Amane a happy future, finally. Something he could never give Amane.
I can name a few small moments that give me pause... when Tsukasa forsakes his own body by impulsively rushing to catch Nene-chan, he's shocked/confused at his own impulse to do that. As he plummets, holding her....
it's small, but sweet.
for the Clockkeepers arc, Tsukasa is seemingly convinced his journey is almost 'over'.
They can peel the Clockkeeper's yorishiro, Mitsuba is being dealt with by Natsuhiko, & he anticipates Nene-chan handling him.
Maybe there's no better time to give her one single kiss, before he'll be vanished for good to bring about Amane's ideal future.

we're so close. He can have one little moment, at the very end.

.... I really think Aida-sensei is a master of quiet, deliberate paneling. Moments that give you pause. this soft, brief panel of Tsukasa parting from kissing Nene-chan, suggests something strongly, to me. This isn't entirely a silly gesture.
In their first meeting on the roof, Tsukasa pulls Nene-chan close, & his expression confuses her, but is obfuscated to us. I think this is a reveal we're waiting for Nene-chan to reflect back on, at the right moment.... but for now, it still doesn't make sense to her.
small still....
I can't think of another reason why kid Tsukasa was DOGGED!!!! even ANGRY!!!!! about forcing Kou to tell him if he'd kissed Nene-chan, & then subsequently pleased when Kou confirms he hasn't.

................ but to be honest, the 'biggest hint' is just, the entire way scenes & panels with them are framed, drawn, handled, written, emphasized, important to the story. How to say this. Images are drawn a certain way for a reason, to make you think about the possibility of something, to suggest it. Nothing is accidental.
I think AidaIro-sensei dance around Nene-chan & Tsukasa in a delicate way, & drop interactions between them very preciously, peppered at core beats of the story, nothing superfluous, always making you feel mystified & drawn into a strange miasma. That's uhmmmm, cinematography or whatever ........ you know ? There's a certain 'feeling'.

to me, I think "it's obvious from the structure of the overarching narrative, that this is a story where both twins fall in love with the same girl"................ also, AidaIro-sensei have literally written a story about exactly that before ......................................... and it shares plenty of similarities in structure to JSHK.
would you believe one even only kisses her before he's planning to kill himself....
So uhm... to me, it goes without saying. It's why there is a set of twins, and a girl, and not, some unrelated bishie or villain mans. It's why images like this exist.
I feel like ...................... just genre savvy????????????????????????? ANYONE ELSE READ MANGA?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? DOUJINSHI??????????? I feel like I'm going crazy. of course both twins will entangle with her.
it's like recognizing a song is folk or jazz. Like YEP, many such images, many such manga! I wonder if anyone else has ever paroozed a lot of girly romance manga or twin-centric media .... like. Yeah .......... the-- there's 2, for .......... the girl . yeah!! Obviously ... and, she'll have teasy scenes with the two of them. Yeah!!! AS YOU KNOW. It's like recognizing the tempo of a song, saying ahh yes, this is Jungle!
I feel so certain about it I feel confused I have to try to defend it, or others don't see it plainly.
Me I see Nene-chan suddenly getting to embrace a baby Tsukasa and I go OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! its THAT kind of manga... I see. & then I play Narisokonai Snow White & I'm like fuck lol oh but seriously for real though... yeah. Obviously. You have your mainline twin & your tragic loves-her-too-but-fated-to-die twin.... I love AidaIro-sensei but they're not inventing the wheel... there are tropes in here. Recognizable patterns....
meanwhile as for Nene-chan. I think she's a slut & obviously cannot control from having horny fantasies about two guys lusting after her, that is canon. She daydreams of harems. Though it's pretty unserious & she's not very earnest about how she feels about that (I think it just makes her feel hot & desirable.......). This is pretty fuckin charitable to Tsukasa if you ask me.
I think if we looked into Tsukasa's mind & Nene-chan was like a hot seductive babe we'd all be like WHOAAAA!!!!!!!
she low key flushes & awaits the thought of Tsukasa, having isolated her, suddenly pursuing her.... nooo~ don't ~~~ ahhh~~ oh no~~~ but I'm, taken~~ already, I....! Love your brother.....! No you, can't/////////////....
I would describe her as "disappointed that is not what is happening" here, lol
I think Nene-chan is just in the early stages of intrigue & interest in Tsukasa's nature, closer to where she was at with early manga Amane... still capable of complete denial. Curious, about the depth, while also flippantly writing off the possibility of anything 'happening' between them. I think there are moments.... Tsukasa has the same melancholy that draws her to Amane, & she's just a tiny bit seduced.
I think there's a moment he's comforting, beautiful...
but, we're only just starting to explore this.
Personally what I'm waiting for, is a prolonged situation of Nene-chan & Tsukasa alone, perhaps in a circumstance similar to what drew Nene-chan & Amane closer.... ? maybe that's what's happening now, in the current arc. I can't say. But I could see it being the next logical step.
If Amane wasn't there, if she only had Tsukasa for comfort ... I wonder what could happen. I think many feelings could develop, but be confusing with the context of her already loving Amane. It could feel misdirected, or as a result of sheer lonesomeness, them being twins ..... that kind of assumption could have her refusing to acknowledge any of it. But she was reluctant & resistant to love Amane, in the first place. So she can be reluctant & resistant towards Tsukasa, too. It's the Nene-chan way.

((spoilers for toilet-bound hanako-kun chapters 120-122))
Inside the Well
Word Count: 796
Pairing: MitsuKou
Summary: what happened with kou and mitsuba at the bottom of that well
It doesn’t feel real. As Kou stares up at the circle of dim light above him, he can’t help but wonder if this is just another dream.
His body feels cold. The pain from the initial injury has faded, and he knows it’s just the shock, but it’s a respite at least.
He hopes Sousuke got away. He’ll be able to tell Teru-nii about the mysterious teacher and the monster living beneath this house. Teru-nii will definitely defeat it. His big brother can do anything. Well, except cook.
Oh. Who’s going to cook for Tiara now?
Wait, their mother can. That’s right. She’s alive in this world.
This world . . .
A sharp cry interrupts Kou’s rambling thoughts. His eyes widen as he watches a second body fall into the well, landing with a sickening thud beside him.
“S-Sousuke?” Please don’t let it be him.
An achingly familiar sob replies. Kou’s limbs feel heavy, too heavy, but he uses the last of his remaining strength to reach for the boy next to him. His fingers touch still-warm skin, and he struggles to wrap his hand around Sousuke’s arm.
“Y-You were supposed to run,” Kou manages to whisper.
Sousuke continues crying beside him. “I-I couldn’t just let you get snatched up, st-stupid!”
Kou’s eyes widen. “Sousuke . . .”
“Y-You’re always protecting me an-and saving me, so what if I wanted to save you this time?! Stupid! Stupid, Minamoto-kun!”
Kou tightens his grip around Sousuke’s arm as best he can, listening to Sousuke cry with heaviness in his chest. He wants to hold the other’s hand, but he can’t move anymore. There’s no more strength left in him.
“Shh, stop crying,” he says as soothingly as he can. “It’s okay.” He bites his lip. “Thank you for trying to save me.”
“Not that it worked,” Sousuke says sullenly. His voice tremors between his sniffles. “M-Minamoto-kun? I-I don’t want to die again . . .”
Kou closes his eyes, feeling tears leak from his own eyes. “I’ll be with you this time,” he promises. “You won’t be alone. I-I . . . won’t . . . leave you.”
He can’t feel anything anymore. Sousuke’s sniffles fade, though Kou isn’t sure if it’s because he’s stopped crying or because he can’t hear anymore. There’s a weightless feeling in his chest, and suddenly he’s hovering over his body, looking down at it, as his hand goes limp around Sousuke’s arm.
He watches, chest aching, as Sousuke struggles to breathe, gasping and shaking. His head is turned toward Kou’s body, lower lip trembling before he bites it.
“K-Kou . . .” he murmurs, before his eyes slowly close and his body grows still.
Then Mitsuba’s beside him, and they both stare down at their bodies, wordlessly. Kou can remember everything now. The old world memories clashing with his new ones. He looks over at Mitsuba beside him. He reaches out toward his shoulder but freezes, as he senses something.
Someone’s entered the house. Multiple someones. It’s probably Senpai and Teru-nii, maybe Akane-senpai and Aoi-senpai too. He has to warn them. He has to get them out. He has to–
“Bring them to me.”
The command hits his chest like a battering ram, and Kou staggers back under the weight of it. Mitsuba stiffens beside him, and he gets the feeling the other heard the voice too.
“I’ll do it,” he says quickly, and Mitsuba turns his head to look at him, his one visible eye wide and terrified. Kou presses his lips together in a firm line, laying his hand on Mitsuba’s shoulder. “Stay here.”
He’s not going to let Mitsuba hurt anyone. He remembers now—the self-hatred the other feels, the horror at the monster he became thanks to Tsukasa. Kou won’t let this house corrupt Mitsuba further.
“M-Minamoto-kun . . .”
Tears fill Mitsuba’s eye, and Kou lifts his hand to wipe them away with the edge of his thumb. Mitsuba startles at the contact, mouth falling open slightly.
“No more tears,” Kou says. “I promised I’d stay with you forever, remember?”
He musters up a grin. Their situation is dire and he doesn’t like any of it, but he has to remain strong for Mitsuba. Besides, he has faith that Senpai and Teru-nii will fix things. They’ll go back in time and reset the clock, and things will return to normal. Well, as normal as they were before.
“Be right back!” he says brightly, and the next thing he knows he’s beside the stairs in the house, and he can hear the voices of Senpai and Teru-nii in the next room.
“Bring them to me.”
He feels sick, but the compulsion to obey is too strong to ignore. His feet move before he can stop them, his hand reaching for his precious Senpai.
I’m sorry but . . . you’ll fix things. I know you will.
You’ll save us all, Senpai!

Thoughts on TBHK Chapter 119
"Babe wake up a New chapter of TBHK just dropped and on SPOOKY MONTH no less", The Board is Set, our main characters are here, let's see what aidairo has in store for us today. Judging from the Cover card, it looks like yashiro will FINALLY be going back to the Red house, OH boy, I wonder how shes going to react Now that hanako is ya know....EVIL!? Also I hope kou and mitsuba are ok 😥
Yo I effing HATE this Dude, also Look at yashiro and Aoi"s relationship blooming, ya know i gotta say, the more I keep seeing these 2, the more more im reminded of Madoka magica and how sayaka pretty much played this role in the beginning, and We All know how that turned out 😅
Y'ALL HAD ☝️ JOB!
Ok 2 thing: 1, I Didn't even REALIZE we didn't get the chapter cover Until NOW, and 2, this panel looks Absolutely SICK OMG aidairo How do you keep cooking, also is it me or does the art style for nene kinda remind you of the art style form the VERY 1ST Chapter? Hmmmmm 🤔
So she basically got Yetted out of existence Lol, WAIT I RECOGNIZE THAT OUTFIT, KOU!, KOU!!, KOU!!! Its gotta be Kou Please be Kou
KOU!!! Oh how I've missed you and your traffic earing 😭
AHHHHHH MY HEART 😭😭😭 I love her friendship with kou, yes while Akane and Teru ARE Reliable, kou has something they Dont, EMPATHY, COMPASSION, and HEART, he's such a comfort for yashiro, and he's not always against hanako like the other 2. he's the homie for a reason, and in my opinion, the BEST character aidairo has wrote ^^
Ummmm I don't trust this, how come he's not freaking out and explaining what happened with him and mitsuba and That hanako has gone crazy, it almost feels like he's leading her somewhere PURPOSELY 😧😨
Time is melding in on itself, TIME IS MELDING IN ON ITSELF!! Omg she's in the PAST Again 😰😰😰
HANAKO!!!!😱😱😱
I love their relationship, it reminds so much of nobara's and Yuji from JKK. look at her, she ABSOLUTELY yipping with Joy, and he's going right along with her ^_^
AGHHH MY HEART!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!😭😭😭😭
My heart...I really can't say anything more except, MY HEART, this Is LITERALLY the best scene in my opinion, aside from the absolute Masterpiece of the Picture perfect arc, this is DEFINITELY a Big runner up. F$%k Aidairo, What do you DO to my EMOTIONS
What?... What happened on his Birthday? What did the Clock keepers DO, Oh No NOT AGAIN!! OMG aidairo WHY, ok for real can someone please remind what exactly happened on his birthday? I know that on ONE of his birthdays That was day that Tsukasa decided to sacrifice himself to the Red house, and that THAT was the reason why hanako stayed alive, but I don't remember if that was on his 4TH birthday or entirely different day, if it was on his 4th Birthday then Holy shit, it looks like my theory about Tsukasa and yashiro MAY be right, and might in fact, COME TRUE 😨😰😰😰
HOLY SHIT, ya know at this point I think aidairo just wants to BREAK us, Because why do you keep doing this like OH MY GOD please Stop, please Stop aidairo I can't take it anymore, just don't hurt them PLEEAASE, Omg Yashiro NOOOO!!!

Between the Lines
In the last episode, Tsukasa gets an extra line, not present in the manga, where he mentions that:
"I hope she does well, like Amane did".
Not with the exact same words, but the mention here is quite clear. During Tsukasa's speech, we see Hanako's knife highlighted.
If we consider the hypothetical situation, at first Shijima says that in order for them to leave that reality, it was necessary for Amane and Mitsuba to be killed.
Something similar to
"the nightmare/fairy tale ends when the protagonist dies, there is no story without him"
Seeing Tsukasa mention that Amane did a good job, as he wished Nene would do, we can imagine that the older brother may have felt obligated to kill Tsukasa.
As a real agreement about "the nightmare ending" for it to end, he needs to kill Tsukasa, the thing inside him, without fail.
It's interesting that Tsukasa mentioned this at that exact moment, as well as the knife being displayed as a clue lost between the words.
It doesn't mean that this is directly related to Mei or her ability (although her death is also conditional on the death or life of the Yugi twins, she was alive in the current reality), but it could be linked to some real situation between the twins.
What if this was like a preview?
Amane and Tsukasa would be trapped in that house and the only way for him and his family to escape would be to kill the boy, specifically the thing inside him. There would be no other condition besides that.
Just like Kou and Nene's dilemma, in order to return to reality, they would have to kill Amane and Mitsuba.
And as we saw, the rules could be broken, there was another option. Something similar to the context of the twins. Although Tsukasa did in fact die, he didn't disappear, he stuck to Hanako until Amane found another way to save his younger brother.
Leaving Tsukasa trapped (as well as Nene) in the boundary until he finds a solution.
Perhaps Tsukasa could be mentioning this, as Amane did his "job" well, killing him.

Or, it could just be a dramatization of a scene from the anime.
It's interesting to think about this, because it makes you wonder about the real situation of Tsukasa's death, if it was something Amane did because he wanted to save his brother from the entity, or if it was something Tsukasa expected Amane to do, to the point of perhaps causing his own death.
The twin paradox.
If Tsukasa hadn't found out that Amane would kill him, he wouldn't have insisted on going back to see how he would be killed, and upon returning, perhaps he purposefully did relevant actions that made Amane make the decision to kill him.
Don't take any of this seriously, it's just a brief analysis.

Little Mitsuba and Tsukasa + Caregiver Sakura
I had way to much fun writing this one- Content warnings! Vague mentions of throwing up. And cannibalism- Tsukasa is being a bit of a little menace it’s ok I love him
Mitsuba had never really liked change. He just wanted to get a nice life and stay that way. Get some friends and settle down. Why did that never happen? He could never be fully happy… He was happy with his appearance and as a result got bullied. He dressed how people wanted but he still didn’t get friends. He… Died. And no one even saw him anymore. Then he met Kou. Kou who tried to help him. Kou who… Seemed to actually like him for who he was. But then that got ruined too. Everything changed when things started being nice…
Now he was the third wonder of the school. He had… Friends? If that was the right word for it. There was Tsukasa, who he tried to avoid at all costs. Such a weird little boy, he seemed confused whenever Mitsuba acted scared of him. Did he not realize the things he did were wrong? There was Natsuhiko. The… Guy. He didn’t really do much other than stand around and try to look cool (And fail, as Mitsuba happily informed him on multiple occasions). Then there was Sakura! Sakura seemed just as fed up with the other two as Mitsuba felt, she was calm and nice… Sakura was the best one of the three
But it still felt overwhelming… And overwhelming led to him feeling small. More specifically the world just felt so big… So yeah he might end up regressed. A lot. At this point something as simple as looking in a mirror could cause him to spiral. Sakura was kind enough to cover the mirrors in the broadcasting room, but Tsukasa, as oblivious as ever, uncovered them. Mitsuba had been looking out the window, he liked watching the birds… But then Sakura called for him, so of course he went to meet her…Just to be faced with one of the uncovered mirrors. He knew that he could see himself in it. It was right there!
But he could still remember before he’d became a wonder and the mirrors had been empty. Which led to him thinking about eating the wonder… He sank to the ground as bile rose in his throat. No no no he needed to stop doing this… He was so tired of throwing up just from the memory of- A fresh wave of nausea washed over him and he whimpered, pressing his forehead against his knees. Anything to keep his stomach. Anything anything… He tucked himself against the wall and started humming a lullaby, trying not to think but it was hard
After a minute or so Sakura wandered into the hallway and saw him curled up on the ground “Mitsuba? What are… Oh” She spotted the mirror and tugged a cloth over it with a sigh “One of these days I’m going to…” Her voice trailed off as she muttered near silently under her breath. Mitsuba stopped humming but he did not look up. Sakura crouched down next to him and spoke quietly “How old are you feeling at the moment?” Asking if Mitsuba was ok sounded like a waste of time, she already knew the answer
Mitsuba picked his head up, big tears rolling down his face “You don’ have to talk to me like tha’! ‘M… Fine” He was not fine, that was pretty obvious. But it was pretty normal for Mitsuba to deny his regression. He knew these people didn’t mind. Tsukasa regressed a bunch, even Natsuhiko did sometimes. But there was still a part of Mitsuba afraid that he’d be seen as weird. What if his regression was wrong? What if… He cried to much? Or he did it to frequently? Or-
Sakura gently spoke up “Alright if you say so. I believe you. Would you like to come have some tea with me at least? Tsukasa isn’t here right now I promise” Mitsuba took slow breaths to try and calm himself down and he aimed a glare at Sakura “I don’ care if he’s here or not! He’s…” Mitsuba whined and pressed his forehead against his knees again. Sakura gently reached out to pat the boy on his head “Right of course” Sakura’s tone stayed level, not even a hint of disbelief
Mitsuba took a deep breath and slowly uncurled his body, reaching out to Sakura with grabby hands expectantly. Sakura scooped him up without complaint, she was strong from Tsukasa constantly clinging to her. She walked into a room where she had a table set up, she grabbed a sippy cup, one with birds on it, and poured the tea into it, Mitsuba decided not to object. Sakura set the boy down in a chair around the table and handed him the sippy cup, pulling a plate of pastries closer to them as she sat next to him “There, just a teatime snack see?”
Teatime with Sakura was always nice. It was calm and soothing… Until the opposite of calm and soothing wandered in. Suddenly Tsukasa’s voice was right next to Mitsuba’s face “Ooo snacks! Yummy!” Mitsuba whimpered and immediately stood up to hide behind Sakura, Tsukasa looked over at him with a perplexed expression, he frowned “Did I say something wrong? Do you not like snacks?” Sakura sighed, patting Mitsuba gently on the head as she turned to address Tsukasa “Stop uncovering the mirrors please. We would both appreciate it. Mitsuba’s small right now, we’ve discussed that means he needs some space”
Tsukasa pouted as he sat down in Mitsuba’s old chair and crossed his arms “Why cover a mirror? What’s the point then? And hey I’m great with kids! I don’t get why it’s a big deal! He seems fine getting awfully close to you” Tsukasa moved quickly, not giving anyone time to react. Within a second he was behind Mitsuba, hugging both him and Sakura tightly together with a giggle “See? Happy hugs!” Mitsuba whimpered quietly, burying his face into Sakura’s neck since he couldn’t get away
Sakura sighed and stood up to pull Mitsuba safely away “Sir. Please” The two held eye contact for a few moments before Sakura broke away to check Mitsuba for any form of harm “Tsukasa can join us for tea time as long as he sits across the table” Neither of the boys seemed pleased with this compromise, but neither of them argued either. Tea time was no longer felt fun. Or calm. Or relaxing. It felt tense as everyone looked at each other. Mitsuba was no longer drinking his tea and Sakura was trying to tempt him into eating a pastry
Eventually Mitsuba accepted the treat, it was filled with a filling sorta like fudge… He watched as Tsukasa rapidly grabbed one and bit into it, starting to talk before he even finished chewing “I love these! They’re so goey it’s just like eating a human hear-“ Mitsuba didn’t stick around to see what happened next, he dropped the pastry and covered his mouth before running to the bathroom where retching could be heard. Tsukasa frowned a bit and took a bite of his own pastry
Sakura glared at Tsukasa “Can’t you just… No. I suppose you can’t” She looked him up and down with distaste before walking to the bathroom to soothe Mitsuba. Mitsuba was curled up into a ball sitting on the floor next to the toilet, Sakura quietly sat next to him “He’s still learning how to interact with you… Give him some time, try and remember that you’re likely overwhelmed from everything not just him” They sat there in silence for a few minutes until Mitsuba felt better, Sakura picked him up and carried him back to the room with the table. Tsukasa was sitting at the table silently dissecting a pastry
Sakura kept Mitsuba in her arms but went over to Tsukasa “You’re being awfully quiet… How old are you feeling master?” Tsukasa looked up and grinned at her proudly holding up 6 fingers, 4 on his left hand and two on his right. He pointed to Mitsuba who was hiding in Sakura’s neck. Sakura sighed and rubbed Mitsuba’s back “You need to work on playing nice with others if you want a playmate master” This did not seem to please Tsukasa since he reached out with his hand and squashed the pastry he’d been dissecting
Tsukasa stared at his hand now covered in chocolate, then started sobbing as he clung to Sakura “Sakura I’m tryin’! I was showin’ him the mirrors for his power! ‘N’ talked ‘bout snacks! ‘N’ hugs!” Sakura pulled Tsukasa to lean against her, she took the boys hat off to gently card through his hair. Mitsuba had curiously peaked out from his hiding spot, trying to understand what Tsukasa was saying. It was pretty confusing…
Sakura gently shushed the crying boy “I know you are. I know. Mitsuba needs to get to know you first. You overwhelmed him when he first met you master” Tsukasa pouted, but it did seem like the tears were stopping “How about we go read some bedtime stories? Mitsuba appears to be tired, and you can stay up playing for a bit longer if you can’t sleep. How does that sound?” Tsukasa seemed hesitant, but he did nod in agreement
Before Tsukasa could ask to be picked up which would surely lead to a jealous war between the two littles Sakura proclaimed a challenge “I wonder which of us can make it to bed first…” Tsukasa only stopped to grab his hat before running off to bed. Sakura took her time, warming up some milk in the sippy cup for Mitsuba and grabbing some baby puffs for Tsukasa before wiping the chocolate from her dress and then she went to meet Tsukasa. Tsukasa was already settled and taking the opportunity to pick out a stack of books
When Sakura walked in holding Mitsuba and the snacks Tsukasa lit up, bouncing up and down slightly “I WON I WON I WON!” Sakura gently shushed him and Tsukasa gasped, covering his mouth then trying again “I won I won I won!” Sakura nodded with a smile, sitting on the bed. She handed Tsukasa the baby puffs as she settled Mitsuba, holding him to feed the little one his bottle. Then she turned her attention to the stack of books
Sakura grabbed a few from the top to look over “These are the books you want me to read tonight?” Tsukasa nodded in excitement and a few puffs fell to the ground. Sakura glanced at the pile of at least 10 more books “We’ll read three tonight” Tsukasa scrambled to pick his books and Sakura started reading. Tsukasa acted out the scenes from the books using his plushies, somehow he managed to turn every single book into a fight scene though. Sakura was grateful that Mitsuba wasn’t paying much attention
Halfway through the second book Mitsuba was completely asleep and Sakura set the bottle off to the side, it was mostly empty which was good. Sakura finished reading the books. When she finished Tsukasa looked up at her with the saddest puppy dog eyes… Sakura busied herself with readjusting herself and Mitsuba to avoid looking. But when she eventually did look not only were the puppy eyes still there but Tsukasa was already hopefully holding a book
Sakura sighed “If I read you one more story you need to sleep ok?” Tsukasa nodded eagerly which sealed the deal. Sakura moved her free arm to make room for Tsukasa who promptly curled up against her side. Sakura read the last book of the night, by the end Tsukasa was still awake, but he squeezed his eyes shut to try and sleep like he’d agreed to. Sakura removed his hat and started running her fingers through the boys hair until he fell asleep, she checked in on Mitsuba who was still sleeping soundly before finally allowing herself to drift off to sleep as well
