Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 (here), Part 4, Part 5 (coming soon)
Tumblr media
Leona wasn't going to answer the phone that night. When he got a call a call at 9pm at night he was planning to hit decline, but, by some stroke of fate perhaps, his finger slipped and he hit answer. He cursed under his breath and was about to end the call when his blood ran cold. On the other end of the line he could hear distant shouts and the sound of harsh rain before a voice broke through the noise: "Kingscholar, we need you at Ramshackle immediately! Ramshackle collapsed and The Prefect got caught under the rubble-"
Leona hung up on Professor Crewel before he could finish talking. Well, he didn't really hang up; he crushed his phone.
Leona was out the door in less than a second. He dashed through the Savanaclaw lounge, startling Ruggie into spilling a basket of laundry and causing Jack to drop a weight on his foot. The lounge went quiet as they watched their dorm leader make a mad dash for the mirror. Nobody had ever seen Leona run like that before.
Barreling out of the mirror, Leona didn't once let up on his pace. Even when he got out into the rain that was so heavy he could barely see ten feet ahead of him, even when he was running on slick stones, Leona ran. When he reached the place where Ramshackle should have been he gagged.
He didn't gage because the sight of the dorm was hard to take in; he gagged because of the thick scent of iron that hung heavy in the air. It took every shred of will within the Lion not to throw up.
Crewel quickly filled him in on the plan and Leona got to work. When his magic pen was full of blot, the teachers lent him their respective magic stones. It wasn't until 12pm (On the dot. Everyone was sickeningly aware of how much time was passing with you under there.) that he finally got to you. The scent of iron flooded his lungs, but that wasn't what caused his face to shift to one of utter horror.
Bones weren't supposed to bend like that. They weren't supposed to be visible either. Was that even you? There's no way. . .there's no way. . . .
The STYX crew, who had arrived an hour earlier, rushed past him and quickly began checking you over and preparing to get you onto the stretcher. Professor Crewel had to pull Leona back because he couldn't move. He was like that until the STYX crew began to rush you to the infirmary.
Even then, he only moved to follow you. The staff didn't bother sending him back to his dorm. They knew he wouldn't leave now.
It wasn't until Leona was standing in the hallway outside of the infirmary that he looked down and threw up on the spot. He was covered in blood. Your blood.
Sam got him clothes to change into, and when Leona got back the area had been turned into a makeshift waiting room (and his vomit cleaned).
He stayed there until morning when he was forced to go back to his dorm to rest. He didn't sleep a wink.
Every time Leona closed his eyes, he saw you laying in the rubble covered in sand and dust and soaked in a mixture of rainwater and your own blood. You looked so cold. His hand only brushed yours, but you had felt so cold.
The counselor he was assigned was more of an annoyance than anything. They weren't able to get a single word out of him.
When Leona heard you woke up, he was just frozen. He didn't even put up a fight when the staff said he'd have to wait a week before he could see you. Honestly, he was scared.
His hand felt like lead as he reached it up to knock on the door.
A raspy, muffled "come in" came like a dying breeze through the door and Leona choked.
It took him longer than he'd like to admit for him to finally open the door and force his legs to move.
You could tell when he saw you that he was struggling to keep it together. You were hooked up to machines and covered in bandages. You had undergone quite a few surgeries since that night.
He was heartbreakingly silent as he stood there by the door.
You gently patted the bed next to you in a motion that made it clear you were still in a good deal of pain, but what he could see of your face betrayed no sign of it. The bed dipped as he sat by your side, facing away from you.
"Leona." You croaked his name, but he didn't respond. "Le-"
Before you could call his name again he had already turned around and, without giving you a chance to look at his face, gently ducked his head into your shoulder. He placed his head on a spot with no bandages, but still just barely hovered his head over you, scared he would cause you pain.
Everything was still for a moment before you lifted one of your arms, your bones creaking, to rest on the back of his head and gently, with what little force you could muster, bring it to rest just above your still beating heart.
He eventually caved and let the little weight of his head rest fully on you as he listened to the beating in your chest. When you looked behind him you could see that his tail was softly swaying to match the rhythm.
Before long you could feel the spot where his head laid begin to become damp. You still couldn't see his face as his lead laid so his ear was pressed to your heard and the back of his head facing you, but you had a pretty good idea of what was happening. You gently made circular motions with your fingers still in his hair (your would pet him, but moving more than just your fingers that much wouldn't be in your best interest).
You stayed like that for hours before he eventually had to leave. The entire time he was there he didn't speak a single word, but he didn't need to. You could tell what he had been feeling from the tear stain on your shirt.
As Leona was closing the door to the infirmary, he heard two soft words slip through the crack between the door and the frame "Thank you."

Right?!
- Jim's orphaned nephew Peter
- Jim witnessed genocide on Talus IV
- What was the deal with Ruth, anyway?
- Leila Kalomi?! Like, does Spock have an illegitimate baby, or?
- Well? Did the half black half white alien races really die out or not?
- What is a dog with a horn alien called?
- The TOS crew academy days?
- Is Gary Mitchell actually dead or is he rolling with the Q's now?
- On that topic, IS TRELANE A Q OR NOT? TELL USSS
- What happened to Daystrom after The Ultimate Computer?
- Lenore from Conscience of the King would have made a badass follow up villain, what happened to her?
- YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK THE GUYS YOU DUMPED ON CETI ALPHA FIVE 💩
- Where on earth did Uhura and Scotty come from later in the movies? WHERRRRRRE there's more build up between Kirk and Spock throughout the entire span of TOS and the movies than there ever was with Scotty and Uhura and then BAM
- Do George and Gracie repopulate the humpback whale population? WHERE DID PAST WHALE LADY END UP IN THE FUTURE AFTER? IS SHE WHY WE HAVE CETACEAN OPS?!
- Why does Jim shave his chest and arms in the TOS era but then gives it all up in TMP? Was the breakup THAT BAD?
- Why were we robbed of Spock's slutty Vulcan lingerie look for Kolinar?
- Why didn't they show us Uhura becoming the first human to learn to play Vulcan lute/lyre/harp WHAT ARE WE CALLING IT OFFICIALLY
- Did the Tribbles have a military in the Tribble Klingon war? WHO WAS THEIR LEADER?! Was it a gigantic Tribble that never broke down into smaller ones? General Trichobezoar?
- What is the deal with Tellarites. I need more. WHY DO THEY PAINT THEIR THREE NAILS RED? Or are they just naturally fire engine red?
- Does Spock wear eyeshadow because it's a human thing, or a Vulcan thing? I NEED THE MORNING ROUTINE.
- Did those advanced aliens that pitted Kirk against the Gorn ever touch base with us again after promising they would once we advanced a little more? Are they just more Q pulling one over on us, or some other form of omnipotent being?
- SPACE ABE LINCOLN. 😳 . . . No real question here really outside of "did that shit really happen, or was the weed particularly sticky that night?"
- WHY DOES EVERYONE EAT FRUITY PEBBLES IN SPACE
- When does Kirk first tell Spock he loves him? Because we all know when Spock took his sweet ass time working his way up to it in TMP, but we also all know Jim's ass was in love with him well before then.
WHAT DOES THE R STAND FOR ON THE TOMBSTONE, GARY? DO YOU NOT KNOW YOUR OWN BEST FRIEND'S MIDDLE NAME IS TIBERIUS?!
I love when Star Trek throws an incredibly traumatic back story at one of their characters, and then we just never mention it in any other episodes ever again. Like yeah, Kirk went through a genocide and mass famine crisis when he was a child. Well, anyways, let's talk about something else now.

IVE’s An Yujin x M!Reader
Note: Thank u @mintwithchoco for the prompt! It was fun to write this! (I might have post it a bit early but It's a bit too fluff to rot in the jail-
Hope yall got enough dose of lethal Yujin. Here’s a cutie Yujin for yall
Tumblr media
(Can this woman not make me blush every single time-)
You have heard many opinions about An Yujin through her online exposure. Gorgeous yet strict, a natural professional and one of the most popular idols in the business.
So when you got hired as a personal bodyguard to IVE, you knew you had to be in your best behaviour. You were expecting a professional introduction. Maybe a polite handshake, a simple exchange of names, and a respectful nod—just like how it had been with every other client before.
But no. Instead, the first thing you got was laughter.
Loud, unabashed laughter.
You had barely stepped into the practice room, clad in your sharp black suit with an earpiece securely in place, when Yujin spun around mid-dance routine, caught sight of you, and nearly collapsed from laughing too hard.
"Oh my god, you look so serious!" She practically wheezed, hands on her knees.
You blinked, your professional composure wavering just slightly. That’s not the usual reaction.
"...Excuse me?"
She straightened up, still giggling, and gave you a once-over. "You're my new bodyguard, right? Wow, we’re the same age, but you look like you’re about to arrest me or something."
Yujin wiped at the corner of her eyes and grinned as she strolled up to you, radiating the kind of unbothered energy that made your brow twitch. Well this is…going to be a pain.
"Well at least I do look the part, no?" you asked, straightening your vest as you clear your throat . "I’m literally here to keep you safe."
"Oh, I’m very grateful." Yujin smirked, stepping closer with a mischievous glint in her eye. "But I was kinda hoping for someone... I don’t know, scarier? You look way too nice."
You stared at her, unimpressed. "I can be scary."
"Yeah?" She raised an eyebrow. "Prove it."
You sighed and took a step forward, dropping your voice into a low, stern tone. "If you don't follow security protocol, I will personally make sure you regret it."
For a moment, Yujin's eyes widened, and you thought—just for a second—that she would actually take you seriously.
Then she grinned even wider.
“Ohhh,” she mused, stepping even closer, her face just inches from yours. “I like you already.”
You had a very bad feeling about this.
-
If you had known what was coming, you would’ve quit on the spot.
An Yujin, despite her public image of being a charming, responsible leader, was actually a menace.
If she wasn’t sneaking off to buy snacks at the nearby convenience stores without telling anyone, she was hiding behind doors just to jump-scare you. And the worst part? The other IVE members had joined in on it…but mostly Yujin.
"Come on, just one smile," Yujin teased one afternoon, poking your cheek while you stood guard by the van. "You've been with us for months, and I still haven't seen you laugh."
You exhaled through your nose. "My job is to protect you, not to entertain you."
"That’s so boring. How do you survive without fun?"
"By keeping a certain someone out of trouble." You shot her a pointed look.
Yujin gasped dramatically, clutching her chest. "Wow. Is that how you see me? Just a walking headache?"
You opened your mouth—because yes she was a giant headache to you—but she cut you off, suddenly leaning in way too close.
"What if I am your problem, huh?" she whispered, eyes glinting with playful challenge.
You held your ground, staring her down. "...Then I'll have to handle you accordingly, I suppose."
Instead of backing off, Yujin grinned wider. "I’d like to see you try."
Oh, she was insufferable. And unfortunately, you were stuck with her.
-
"You know," Yujin drawled, stretching across the couch in the waiting room like a cat in the sun. One arm hung off the side lazily, while the other rested behind her head, eyes gleaming with that familiar mischief. "I think you like me more than you let on."
You sighed, already used to her antics. "What makes you think that?"
Her lips curled upward, slow and knowing, like she had already won whatever game she was playing. "Because I'm fun. And charming. And incredibly good-looking." She struck an exaggerated pose, tilting her chin up dramatically like some kind of historical monarch.
Across the room, Wonyoung groaned, rubbing her temples. "Unnie, please. Have some dignity."
"You don’t want me to tell the truth?" Yujin gasped, clutching her chest in mock devastation, her mouth slightly parted as if she had just been personally attacked.
"I don't want you to embarrass us in front of our bodyguard," Wonyoung corrected, glancing at you apologetically.
You just shook your head, lips pressing into a thin line. "I'm used to it."
Yujin’s eyes flickered with amusement, but instead of making another joke, her expression softened just slightly—like she had caught something in your tone that intrigued her. Then, just as quickly, the mischief returned. "See? That's basically an admission that you enjoy my company."
You gave her a deadpan look. "That is not what I said."
"Too late, I'm taking it as fact." She stretched her arms over her head, looking far too pleased with herself.
You exhaled through your nose, choosing to ignore her. If there was one thing you'd learned about An Yujin, it was that engaging with her nonsense only fuelled her further.
But despite all her teasing and the way she constantly pushed your buttons, there were moments when she reminded you why she was the leader of IVE.
Like now.
Liz sat in the corner of the room, staring down at her phone with her lips pressed into a tight line. She was fidgeting, her hands twisting together in her lap—a stark contrast to the usual easygoing energy she carried.
Yujin noticed instantly. Her playful expression melted away, replaced by something steadier. More grounded. She pushed herself off the couch, crossing the room in a few quick strides before crouching beside Liz.
"Jiwonie," she called softly, nudging her knee against Liz’s. "What’s up?"
Liz hesitated before sighing. "I feel like I keep messing up my parts in the choreography."
Yujin tilted her head, studying her with an unreadable expression. Then, instead of immediately reassuring her, she took a moment. Just a beat of silence—enough to let Liz’s words settle before responding.
"You don’t," Yujin said firmly. "We practiced together, remember? You’re doing fine."
"But—"
"No buts." Yujin stood up, walked over, and slung an arm around Liz’s shoulders, giving her a reassuring squeeze. "You know what I told you? The best performers aren’t the ones who get everything perfect all the time. They’re the ones who keep going no matter what."
Liz still looked uncertain, but a small smile tugged at her lips. "You really think so?"
"I know so." Yujin grinned. "Besides, if you mess up, I’ll just mess up too. That way, we’re both in trouble."
"That’s a terrible encouragement," you muttered.
Yujin turned her head slightly, just enough to meet your gaze, and the glint in her eyes was back. The glint. The one that usually meant trouble.
"It’s called leadership," Yujin shot back. "Ever heard of it?"
You exhaled sharply, shaking your head, but you didn’t argue. Liz was smiling now, and that was proof enough that whatever Yujin was doing was working. She had a way of lifting her members’ spirits that was genuinely impressive.
Liz laughed, looking much more relaxed. "Thanks, unnie."
"Anytime," Yujin replied, patting her head before making her way back to her spot on the couch. As she passed you, she glanced up, smirking.
"See? I'm not just a pain in your ass."
"I never said that," you replied, but she only winked before plopping back onto the couch like she hadn’t just effortlessly reassured one of her members.
You sighed. Protecting An Yujin was exhausting… but you didn’t mind as much as you pretended to.
-
Your day off. A rare and precious thing.
You had been looking forward to it—no earpiece, no schedule to follow, no six-foot radius of hyper-vigilance around an overgrown puppy disguised as an idol. Just a quiet, peaceful day to yourself.
Or so you thought.
The realization hit you like a cruel joke when you spotted her.
An Yujin. Hoodie up, mask on, but you’d recognize her anywhere. The way she walked, slightly loose-limbed and confident, like the world was hers to navigate. The way she hummed under her breath as she glanced at store signs, completely unaware of how reckless she was being.
You groaned under your breath. Of course.
But before you could even question why she was out alone, without security, without backup, you saw him. A man. Mid-thirties. Dark hoodie. His posture was too stiff, his steps too calculated. He lingered a few feet behind Yujin, never overtaking her, never slowing down. His gaze flickered to her every few seconds, fingers twitching slightly as if waiting for something.
Your instincts kicked in immediately.
You followed her into a convenience store, keeping to the shelves as she strolled past the snack aisle. She had no idea. Her biggest concern at the moment was probably whether to get banana milk or iced coffee—completely oblivious to the shadow tailing her.
He lingered near the entrance, pretending to look at snacks but never actually picking anything up. His eyes were locked on Yujin, and his fingers twitched like he was waiting for the right moment.
Sasaeng. Your stomach turned cold.
You moved fast.
The moment Yujin left the store, you followed right behind. And just as the man reached out—
You grabbed his wrist. Tight.
A sharp intake of breath. The man's head snapped toward you, eyes widening in shock and irritation.
"The hell—?" he hissed, jerking back, but you didn’t let go.
Yujin spun around, startled. "Huh?—"
"Good afternoon, mister." You pulled her behind you instinctively, keeping your grip on the man. "I don’t know what you think you’re doing," you said, voice low and firm, "but walk away. Now."
The man scowled, trying to yank his arm free. "Who the hell are you?"
"Her bodyguard," you answered coldly. "And if you don’t leave in the next five seconds, you won’t like what happens next."
A flicker of hesitation. His eyes darted between you and Yujin, who was standing rigid behind you now, her usual carefree energy drained into something tense and alert.
Then, finally, the man sneered and yanked his arm free. "Tch. Not worth it," he muttered before disappearing into the crowd.
You stood there for a moment, making sure he was really gone, before exhaling.
And then you remembered the girl behind you.
"So…what the hell?" you snapped, turning to her. "Why are you alone?"
She blinked up at you, wide-eyed, still processing what just happened. "Uh…"
"You know how dangerous this is, right?" Your voice was sharper than usual, the adrenaline still running through you. "No staff, no backup, no security. What were you thinking?"
Yujin finally seemed to snap out of it, rubbing the back of her neck. "...I just wanted to go out for a bit. I didn’t want to bother anyone."
Your fists clenched, the lingering adrenaline making your chest feel too tight. "You call this not bothering anyone? You're lucky I decided to go out right now you dunce."
She hesitated, shifting on her feet. Then, in a small voice, she admitted, "I didn’t even realize he was following me."
You exhaled slowly, pinching the bridge of your nose.
"Yujin," you muttered, softer this time, "this is exactly why you can’t go out alone. It’s not about you wanting freedom, it’s about your safety. There are people out there who—" You stopped, shaking your head. "Just... don’t do this again."
Silence stretched between you for a few seconds before Yujin suddenly smiled.
It wasn’t her usual teasing grin. It was softer. Almost... grateful.
"You really do care about me, huh?"
You groaned. "That’s what you’re taking from this?"
Her lips twitched, and just like that, the mischievous glint in her eyes was back. She nudged your arm playfully. "Admit it. You’d miss me if I got kidnapped."
"Don't make me use profanity you—"
"Fine, fine!" She laughed, hands up in surrender. But then she let out a breath, gaze flickering down for a second before meeting yours again, more earnest this time.
"Seriously, though," she murmured. "Thanks. I mean it."
You watched her for a moment, noting the way her usual carefree mask had cracked just a little. The way her eyes, despite the teasing, held something like genuine gratitude. She nudged you playfully. "Guess I owe you one, huh?"
"More like you owe me about a hundred at this point," you muttered, finally relaxing.
Yujin grinned. "Then I’ll start by buying you lunch. C’mon, bodyguard. Let’s eat."
And despite everything, despite the fact that this was supposed to be your day off, you found yourself walking beside her, watching her laugh like nothing had happened.
-
You should’ve known saving An Yujin would have consequences.
Not in the form of a promotion or a bonus (though you wouldn’t say no to either), but in the absolute menace she had become ever since that day.
At first, you thought you were imagining things—the longer stares, the way her lips curled mischievously whenever she caught your eye, the subtle brushes of her fingers against your arm whenever she passed by.
Then, the touches became more deliberate. The teasing got more frequent. The closeness is more unbearable.
It was like a switch had flipped. Suddenly, your personal space was no longer yours. And the worst part? She did it so naturally, like she had always been this clingy with you.
Just like this one morning at the company building—
"Mr. Bodyguaaard~" Yujin sang as she threw an arm over your shoulders, completely ignoring the amused stares of the staff around you. "Walk me to the practice room!"
You exhaled. "Yujin, You know I’m going there anyway."
"But this way is more fun." She tightened her grip, practically hanging off you.
You gave her a look. "...Do you have to be this close?"
"Yes," she said simply, grinning.
It only got worse after a long schedule. You were expecting Yujin to slump in exhaustion like she usually did. Instead, the moment she climbed into the van, she scooted over without hesitation, settling in way too close before dropping her head onto your shoulder with a satisfied sigh.
Your entire body stiffened.
"What are you doing?" you asked, voice flat, not daring to move.
"Getting comfortable," she mumbled, shifting slightly as if trying to mold herself against you.
Your brow twitched. "You have an entire seat to yourself."
"But I don’t want to sit alone," she said simply, eyes fluttering shut. "You’re warm."
Across from you, Wonyoung and Liz exchanged knowing looks.
"Oh no," Gaeul muttered, covering her mouth to hide a laugh.
"I don’t get it," Wonyoung whispered, glancing between you and Yujin. "Since when were they this close?"
Liz smirked. "Since someone got rescued and suddenly realized how cool their bodyguard is."
You sighed. "I heard that, Jiwon."
"I'm glad you did," Liz cheekily shot back.
Meanwhile, Yujin hummed in contentment, completely ignoring the stares and the muffled giggles of her members. As if your shoulder was the perfect place to rest, she nestled in further, her soft breath fanning against your neck.
You felt heat creep up your collar.
"...Heavy," you muttered, shifting slightly.
"Comfy," she countered with a teasing lilt, her lips curling into a lazy grin.
From the corner of your eye, you saw Gaeul shaking her head. "This is getting dangerous."
Liz, meanwhile, giggled behind her hand. "We should start selling tickets to this slow-burn romance."
You groaned. Yujin? She just smirked.
Her clingy antics doesn't stop in the comfort of their dorm, unfortunately. Before their music show performance, you were standing near the dressing room door, waiting for the members to finish.
And then the door swung open.
Yujin strolled out like she was making a grand entrance, her hair freshly styled, her makeup flawless—looking every bit the idol she was.
And then, in one smooth motion, she reached out, grabbed your hand, and laced her fingers with yours.
Your brain lagged.
"Let’s go, mister!" she announced.
You blinked. "Why are you holding my hand—?"
"You saved me, so now I’m keeping you close!" she said cheerfully. "You're my lucky charm!"
Behind her, Leeseo’s jaw dropped. Liz and Rei had to turn away to hide their laughter.
"Yujin," you hissed under your breath, trying to pull away.
She only tightened her grip.
"Nope," she said. "Mine now."
You could physically feel Wonyoung’s migraine forming. "You cannot just say that out loud," Wonyoung groaned, covering her face.
"I just did." Yujin smirked, swinging your intertwined hands slightly, watching your reaction with delight.
Liz and Rei lost it, muffling their laughter behind their hands.
At that moment, a staff member walked by, did a double-take at your very obvious hand-holding situation, and nearly tripped.
You wanted the ground to swallow you whole.
-
You really should have been more prepared for this.
It happened at the airport, in front of dozens of fans, reporters, and flashing cameras.
You were walking beside Yujin, scanning the crowd for any potential threats, keeping a careful distance—when suddenly—
"Honey~!"
You froze. The world stopped.
Gasps. Shrieks. Camera flashes directly in your face.
Even the security personnel ahead of you paused.
Your entire being short-circuited. "What did you just call me?"
Yujin, completely unbothered, turned to you with an innocent smile. "Honey~" she repeated, her voice sweet as sugar.
Wonyoung, Gaeul, and Rei screamed.
Leeseo was flabbergasted, with Liz quickly covering the youngest's ear from behind.
Even the fans were losing their minds.
"OH MY GOD—"
"WHAT DID SHE JUST SAY—"
"HUH?!?!?"
"YUJIN CALLED HER BODYGUARD HONEY?!?!"
"What. The. Hell. Yujin?!" Your ears burned with embarrassment. "Are you trying to make me headline Dispatch?"
"You take care of me," Yujin said smoothly, not missing a beat. "You protect me, you make sure I eat, you saved my life—so obviously, you're my honey."
"You cannot just say that out loud in public," you hissed, absolutely mortified.
"But I just did," she replied with a grin, eyes twinkling with mischief.
You quickly cover her mouth, frantically trying to damage control. "STOP!!!!"
At this point, Wonyoung had buried her face in her hands, physically unable to process what was happening. Gaeul was bent over, wheezing. Rei looked like she was watching the most dramatic plot twist unfold in real life.
A fan nearby whispered to their friend, "Do you think they’re dating?"
You nearly collapsed.
And Yujin?
She just tugged on your sleeve, eyes filled with amusement, and smiled. "Come on, honey. Let’s go."
And as you caught the knowing grins of her members, the delighted chaos among the fans, and the sheer horror on your own face reflected in the airport glass, you realized something.
You didn’t just save An Yujin.
You unleashed a monster.

under her wing
giulia gwinn x spanish!reader , mentor!alexia putellas x spanish!reader
summary: your mentor is concerned about your relationship with your club teammate
warnings: three year age gap, reader is 22, a suggestive mention if you squint
Tumblr media
you never thought you would leave barcelona. it had been your home, your dream, the place where you trained at la masia for many years before debuting on the senior team.
in 2023, when you won the champions league.. you ran into a bit of challenges. something that would not be fixed without a club change.
so… when the opportunity at bayern munich came, you took it.
it was the right step for your career, but that did not make leaving any easier since alexia had been the hardest part of it.
she was more than just a teammate…she was the older sister you never had, the one who guided you when you first arrived at barcelona.
when you told her about the transfer that summer, she had nodded, understanding yet saddened.
“if it’s what you want,” she had said, her voice soft.
“but i’m going to miss you.”
you had adjusted to life at bayern faster than you expected. the girls welcomed you, the club supported you, and before long, you found yourself settling in.
you still talked to alexia, everyday even, you guys kept eachother updated about your lifes in germany and spain.
well, not too much, of course, since she was a rival now. it's just enough for her to know you were okay.
then there was giulia.
she had been your teammate first, someone you clicked with on the pitch almost immediately. you admired her leadership, her composure, the way she carried herself with quiet confidence.
she was 25, a captain-like figure at bayern, the leader of her national team after popp.
she was also the best thing to happen to you in a long time.
you and giulia had only been official for a month. it was new, fresh, but something about it felt so different from your past relationships. healthier and safer like you were with someone who truly saw you.
you had not told alexia yet…there had not been a right time, and honestly, you were not sure how she would take it.
now, in march, you were on national break, back in spain, while giulia remained in germany. it was the first time since getting together that you would be apart for this long, but you both promised to keep in touch.
and you did.
you were always smiling at your phone. always taking pictures of your food before eating. always stepping away to take facetime calls in the bathroom.
that last one had really set alexia off.
she was not going to ask what you were doing in there on the phone with giulia, but she had her suspicions.
now, the night before your match against portugal, she was going to get her answers.
misa and aitana had just left the hotel room when she turned to you.
“hey, y/n, don’t go to sleep yet. can we talk?”
you blinked, confused but nodding.
“of course.”
she sat on the edge of the bed, watching you carefully.
“are you dating someone?”
your heart nearly stopped.
“wh-wha-what? how do you know?”
she let out a small laugh, shaking her head.
“so i was right.”
you sighed, rubbing your face.
“was it that obvious?”
“very,” alexia said.
“you smile at your phone too much. you always take pictures of your food and the facetime calls in the bathroom? come on, y/n! you could at least wait until you got home to munich.”
you groaned.
“fine. yeah, i am dating someone.”
she tilted her head.
“who?”
you hesitated.
“giulia.”
her brows lifted slightly.
“giulia?”
“yeah, giulia gwinn. my teammate at bayern. defender for alemania..”
you nodded, bracing yourself for her reaction.
alexia knew giulia. she had played against her plenty of times, had seen her lead bayern with the same strength she had seen in other great captains like herself.
however, her expression shifted into something more thoughtful, almost concerned.
“hmm.”
“what?” you frowned.
she hesitated for a second before speaking.
“it’s not a bad thing,” she said slowly.
“i just… well she’s older. not by much, but still… i just want to make sure you’re okay.”
you crossed your arms.
“do you think she’s too good for me?”
her eyes widened, shaking her head immediately.
“no! not at all. that’s not what i meant.”
“then what did you mean?”
she sighed.
“i mean that you’re 22. you’re mature for your age, but i want to make sure you’re making smart decisions and that you’re with someone who treats you well, who understands you.”
you relaxed slightly.
“giulia treats me really well, ale. better than anyone ever has.”
ale’s expression softened.
“that’s all i needed to hear.”
you felt the weight of her concern, the way she was looking out for you in the way she always had.
it was not about doubting you or giulia…it was about making sure you were happy. and you were.
before the conversation could settle, she smirked slightly.
“so… tell me more about this relationship.”
you groaned.
“oh god.”
“no, no, i want to know,” she teased.
“how did this happen? who made the first move? if i had to guess, it was her. there is no way your shy ass made any first move!”
you rolled your eyes, but a smile was tugging at your lips.
“oh shut up! i’ll tell you but only because you’re going to keep asking if i don’t tell you.”
and with that, you began to tell alexia the story of how you and giulia became girlfriends.
three months later.. the evening in valencia is warm, the sun just starting to set as you and alexia make your way toward the restaurant.
you’re not nervous about seeing giulia…you never are. she is your club teammate and girlfriend who you see everyday back at home. however, you are a little anxious about how this dinner will go.
alexia has been a mentor to you for years, almost like an older sister, and now she’s here to finally meet the woman you’ve fallen for.
“you look tense,” alexia says, nudging your shoulder.
“should i be worried?”
“no,” you sigh.
“i just want you to like her.”
alexia smirks.
“well, if she makes you happy, i’m already halfway there.”
you step inside the restaurant, immediately spotting giulia at a table near the window.
she stands when she sees you, her expression lighting up as you approach.
when you reach her, she greets you with a soft kiss to your cheek before turning to alexia and extending her hand.
“hallo, it’s nice to finally meet you properly, alexia,” giulia says, her voice warm.
alexia shakes her hand firmly.
“buenos dias, and same here. i’ve heard a lot about you.”
giulia chuckles, glancing at you.
“all good things, i hope?”
“mostly,” alexia teases, sitting down while looking at you beside her.
“i guess i’ll find out for myself tonight.”
the conversation starts light and familiar.. football.
soon enough, alexia shifts gears, watching giulia closely.
“so,” she says, swirling her water.
“what made you fall for her?”
you groan, burying your face in your hands.
“ale, come on!”
giulia laughs softly, completely unbothered. she looks at you for a moment, then back at alexia.
“it was easy,” she says simply.
“she’s loving and y/n is funny in a way that catches you off guard, and she’s so passionate about what she loves. she gives her whole heart to the people she cares about and i was able to learn that when she first came to munich.”
you blink, caught off guard by the sincerity in her voice.
alexia raises an eyebrow, clearly impressed.
“not a bad answer.”
“what about you?” giulia asks, tilting her head.
“you’ve seen her grow up. how has she changed?”
alexia hums.
“she’s always been talented, but when she first came to barça, she had this uncertainty about her. now, she knows who she is. she’s stronger, more confident… and she looks happy.”
giulia smiles.
“she makes me happy too.”
there’s a brief pause, something unspoken passing between them before alexia leans back.
“i like you,” she says finally.
“you’re different from the people she’s dated before.”
giulia lifts an eyebrow with a smirk, looking at you while she asks alexia,
“how so?”
alexia glances at you before answering.
“you’re stable. you know what you want. you’re not playing games and have goals.”
giulia squeezes your hand under the table.
“yeah i promise there are no games,” she says softly.
“just her.”
alexia watches the exchange, then nods in approval.
“good. because if you ever hurt her…”
“i won’t,” giulia cuts in firmly.
“i’d never do that.”
there’s another pause, then alexia smirks.
“then i have nothing to worry about.” she glances at you.
“you got a good one.”
relief floods through you, and you smile.
“i know.”

Hello 👋 could I please request headcanons for leona's fem s/o defending him everytime one of the other characters start making backhanded comments to his face (if you've seen some of the vignettes you'll know what I mean) she doesn't reveal things like he's depressed or anything (tho he is) she just tells them it's shitty of them calling him lazy/selfish constantly without even knowing him personally
[Everyone treats leona like crap and I take personal offense to it >:( ]
You know i make fun of him on a regular basis. but theres a line thats gotta be drawn when it comes to leona bullying. cause damn this guy needs a real Break he cant even have issues in peace
Tumblr media
𐙚 Leona Kingscholar
Before you got closer to him, there’s a fair chance the comments didn’t even stand out to you at all. It always felt a little unfair, yes, but not in a way that was particularly shocking, they were all just rude comments like any other. Back when you weren’t quite friends yet, and maybe even at the start of your friendship, you might have interjected with a simple ”hey, he’s not that bad” or "you don’t need to be rude about it”. It was just a gesture of basic politeness then, something the people around you seemed to lack.
But obviously, your perception of those interactions, and the way you see Leona’s situation itself, soon went through a rather radical change. Possibly even before you two started dating, or even before he “told you too much” — His own words, mumbled dismissively but bitterly, the day he came back after spending a weekend with his family and then proceeded to complain for a little longer than usual — As he warmed up to you, you started to notice things about him more. You started to see the spark of actual passion he has in his eyes during his club activities, the level of detail he gets into when analyzing things, the precise way he moved his chess pieces when you two played...
Above all, though, you started to notice how he often looked actually tired when he took part in any of the “slacking” he’s so infamous for. Learning the littlest bit more about his family life just worked as the final piece of the puzzle you’d been putting together without even noticing — And then, other people’s “rudeness” started to sound like something much more cruel. It didn’t help that he never seemed to react to it whenever he overheard others gossiping, or whenever you told him about the things you heard. “Why doesn’t he care?” The thought would echo in your mind for ages, trying to understand him through the tiny slivers of vulnerability he didn’t mean to show.
Now, as his girlfriend, you feel you just can’t let people say whatever they want, and you feel it more strongly than you ever have. ”Why don’t you mind your own business instead of talking about someone you don’t really know?” You snap back on instinct when one of your classmates, who was in Savanaclaw, comments on how lazy their dorm leader is. Their mouth closes instantly, regardless if you’ve made your relationship public or not — You realize that, on top of all the negative treatment Leona got, it was also extremely rare for others to defend him in any way at all. Enough that even a response that simple elicits shock from others.
”You know, it’s crazy to see you hanging out with Leona like that. I never thought I'd see anyone get so excited to spend time with him.” You hear some other day, while spending time in Savanaclaw’s common area, sat right next to Leona, and it just makes your blood boil. He’s just half-glaring at your particularly cocky acquaintance, sighing like he’s heard it a million times before, which you know he probably has. ”Hey, make sure you don’t get too influenced, we don’t need another person who just sleeps all day—”
”Yeah, you’re right. This type of person can be such a pain. I’m so glad I don’t know anyone who’s, you know, actually like that.” You say through grit teeth, just barely holding back aggression, and in the corner of your vision, the subtle flash of surprise in Leona’s face only encourages you to continue. ”Imagine if like, the Magift team had this sort of player in it… the club would be done for.”
They stare at you with wide eyes, having very much picked up on the aggression. The entire room is silent, you refuse to break eye contact, arms firmly crossed. ”Well, I mean…” The student stammers, but then, Leona himself speaks up for once. ”Did you not get her message? You need me to tell you to shut up instead?” He snaps, and they frantically shake their head, eyes fixed on the ground. You feel pride swelling in your chest, almost unable to hold back your smile.
”You know, Herbivore, if I needed a bodyguard I’d already have one.” He tells you later, in that same day. His tone has that snarky edge that feels like his default, but it’s much less pronounced than usual. You can even see a sort of softness in his eyes while he tries to play it cool. But needing and deserving are two different things, you think. As interactions like these repeat, with you defending him every time, you hope your message fully gets through to him, one day.

The 4J school district in Eugene, Oregon published a letter of support for all their students in the Eugene Weekly newspaper. They didn't just make a statement to the school mailing list or a blurb for the mainstream news, they made a promise to their whole community directly. (Explicitly including trans students and students of any immigration status.)
This was the Guest Viewpoint article filling the top half of the first splash page when you open the cover. In the beloved local paper that will hold their feet to the fire the most if they fail those students. In an issue called "Know Your Rights" about how to protect yourself and your community in the coming times of trouble, and what organizations we already have locally to turn to. (Other articles included how how deal with ICE/La Migra with scripts in English and Spanish, and a messages of hope + encourager to fight from queer community leaders.)
Not everyone is caving. Plenty of places are linking arms to shield vulnerable people.

his girl
an alpha that hadn't yet claimed you. your first time in the hard deck. his flirty superior. what could go wrong?
technically a part two to military issued, but it can be read as a standalone
Tumblr media
Bradley Bradshaw was in love.
he held you close, nuzzled against your neck as you sat in his home. your home now, too, you supposed.
you didn't have a choice in the matter. when your first met, you were adamant you'd made the wrong choice in becoming a military omega. but Bradley's alpha scent was in your nose. his big, strong hands were on you, your brain melted.
you couldn't help it. your omega brain switched on, and you nuzzled against him, trying to get as much of his scent on you.
you wanted to drown in it, get drunk off of it. your alpha. your big, strong Alpha that you couldn't get enough of.
his lips nipped at your neck and you released a giggle. he hadn’t claimed you, yet, waiting for your heat. that was the proper way to do it, how the military wanted it done.
he now had a reason to come home.
***
it was weird, walking around with an Alpha that hadn't claimed you. you held his hand as he led you from the Bronco and into the bar.
the hard deck. a cute name, considering the little bit Bradley had told you about naval aviation. "ready?" he asked you, lifting your hand to his lips to kiss the back of it.
you swallowed the lump in your throat, but the way your moustache tickled your skin had you giggling. "ready," you answered.
meeting your alpha's friends was a big deal. even when you tried to pretend it wasn't, it was a big deal. his friends. the people he worked with. the people that would make sure he came back to you. his squad were important to him.
they were important to you, too, now.
this was something this should have waited until you were mated, until you had his claim on your neck and yours on his. but you were completely covered in his scent, and that was the next best thing.
the hard deck was a cacophony of shouts and jeers and music from the juke box. shouts of those trying to be louder than the jeers, jeers from the group playing darts. noises from the pool table too, cues hitting balls and balls hitting each other.
he led you through the hard deck, past the bar and over to a group of people in khakis. "hey, rooster!" one of them called as the two of you approached.
mostly alphas, you noted as you looked at them. two betas, no other mares in sight.
"guys, there's someone I want you to meet."
Bradley pulled you in front of him. his hands rested on your shoulders as he introduced you, gave his friends your name.
"hi," you said abd swallowed the uncomfortable feeling in your throat. too tight, lump in your throat too big.
shoving the pool cue into the hands of the spectacled man, the broad, brown haired an strode over. he looked tall, until he got close to Bradley.
beta, you realised once you breathed in.
"hangman," bradley mumbled, his moustache twitching as he pulled you closer. like he had anything to be worried about. you were well and truly his.
"who's this pretty little thing?" he asked, looking you up and down. a beta raised by alphas, you decided.
you patted your alphas chest. "this is Bradley," you said and smiled up at him. "he really is a pretty little thing, isn't he?"
red cheeked, hangman laughed at you. no, not at you. with you. "I'm jake," he said and held his hand out to you.
"nice to meet you, jake."
one by one, you met all of Bradley's friends. they were all lovely, but your favourite was natasha. she was maybe the second sexiest Alpha you had ever seen (behind Bradley, of course). not only that, but she was lovely. friendly, but she could easily hold her own. if they were a Pack, more than friends, she would have been their leader.
sat in Bradley’s lap, you listened as his friends told you stories. what they could of their time in the Navy. none of the horrible stuff, none of the traumatic things they had been through. instead, the moments they found themselves... enjoying.
no, enjoying wasn't the right word. but it allowed them to feel like they belonged.
as you listened, your glass became empty. you shook it, the ice cubes clinking together, before you drank them, too.
"I'm gonna get another," you said to Bradley and kissed his cheek.
he tightened his grip on you, not letting you off of his lap. "hey," he said quickly, his eyebrows raising.
rolling your eyes, you pressed a kiss to his lips. you pulled away, giggling as you made your way to the bar.
"same again?" the woman behind the bar asked.
"please," you said and she began making it for you.
you pulled your card from your purse, but someone placed their hand on top of yours, stopping you.
not Bradley, you would have recognised his scent immediately.
you looked up at the man, also in khakis. his dark hair was greying at the sides and there was something about his smile that put you off, like he wasn't used to the action. "I got it, darlin'," he said and opened his wallet.
you shook your head. "I'm good," you said and grabbed your card again. "thank you, though."
"c'mon, put it away," he said, trying to sound light. "a pretty 'mega like you shouldn't have to pay for your drinks."
a smile split across your face. "you're right," you said and tucked your card back into your purse. "lemme go and get my Alpha real quick."
you made your way back over to Bradley, grabbed his hand and pulled him to his feet. "what're you doing, angel?" he asked, hands on your waist, pulling you into him.
he looked at the man beside you. "cyclone."
he fucking knew him!
oh, this was too good.
cyclone cleared his throat. "Rooster," he said as Bradley pulled out his wallet.
"have you met my Omega yet?" he asked, paying for your drink. you sipped it, practically glowing as your alpha protectively stood up for you.
he leaned down and kissed your exposed shoulder. "go sit down, Angel," he whispered and sent you on your way. you went willingly, sitting beside Nat and watching as Bradley spoke with cyclone.
"I didn't know he knew him," you muttered and sipped some more of your fruity cocktail drink.
natasha released a laugh. "knew him? that's our superior."
your mouth dropped open. your alpha. sticking up for you. in front of his superior.
you were so in love.
I'd loooove some more abo/hybrid!au top gun requests!

lamb who kills the one who waits when the time comes to decide, furious and betrayed at being asked to lay down their life after everything they'd done, after-
they kill him, and don't stop to see what happens to the body, carried away by their celebrating followers. They rejoice the whole day, of a final victory against evil, riling each other up to the heights of joy and mania until late in the night.
And then Lamb goes to bed and blows out the lamp and the their decision finally sinks in.
what have they done.
they wake the next day trembling from forgotten nightmares, overheating as they make their way through the day's chores, blank-faced and numb. the call to sermon is waved off in face of a headache, as they try not to think about how much of what they preach no longer is relevant.
the week passes in a haze- they unthinkingly leave offerings in the wooden chest until they rot in the summer noon; call out the rituals in Narinder's language and pretend the power isn't fainter than usual, go on a crusade to get their mind off things- except the last is the worst of it all, because the crown's eye is pale pink, pupil fat with power, instead of the crimson cat-eye that Lamb is used to, and there's no getting away from the fact on how silent it is when no one is watching behind it.
how silent it is because no one is there.
yet somehow worse still is-
"hope you feel better soon, leader!" a younger follower says, tucking a camelia into their wool. they know they've been distant lately, avoiding worries left right and centre. "praise the one! he'll make everything alright."
it's like a hammer to the chest, leaving them breathless and stunned, to realise- they never commissioned a statue of Narinder, after all these years. so stubborn in only leaving the crimson eye scratched around the cult grounds as his symbol until he found an artist worthy of Lamb sharing the image of the god of death, that-
no one else except the lamb knew what narinder looked like. they had no idea whose defeat they'd celebrated.
no one but Lamb remembers their god.
..
it gets harder after that.
Lamb isn't sure how many people have left the cult by the time the Mystic Seller's demand comes through, to save what's left of the Bishops from endless purgatory, before their violent shadows disrupted the fabric of the four realms.
They stare, speechless and disbelieving, at the outrageous ask, before it suddenly sinks in that-
The bishops.
The bishops.
They run through the lands once more with eagerness, sword slashing harder each time, ruthless and relentless in their kills. They reconquer Leshy and Heket brutally, curtly setting out the terms when they are diminished back to mortal and forced to stay in the cult. They agree, and agree to keeping their peace as well when Kallamar and Shamura join them, surrounded by a cult that's flourishing once more, waiting eagerly for a familiar stranger. Lamb tells stories around the fire about The One Who Waits, watches the smiles on their followers' faces reappear, the ones who had fled their anger and depression slowly making their way back to the flock, and the cult grows back to its full potential once more.
And then Lamb runs up the stairs when it's all ready and beautiful and welcoming, beams at the Seller as they wait for their instructions.
The Seller frowns. "Yes?"
Lamb tilts their head, rusted bell on their neck tinkling. It had broken the day after Narinder's defeat, the collar finally fluttering to the ground in tatters like a cloth of eighty years should; but Lamb had repaired and maintained and polished it until it wrapped proud around their neck once again. Their heart is beating in their chest, excitement running through their veins. They'd forgotten how it felt to be on the cusp of going to meet the One Who Waits.
"The last bishop still remains," They laugh, joy spreading through them. "I have to go get him too, yes? For the good of the universe and all."
The Mystic Seller... is silent.
"Narinder was not a Bishop," It says finally. Lamb's smile drops. "The Three-Eyed Cat had completed his ascension when he mastered the resurrection ritual. He was a God."
Lamb's heart drops to their stomach, stumbling like they've taken a hit. "What? So what? Can't I bring him back?"
The Mystic Seller tilts their head. "No."
"What do you mean no?" Lamb's nostrils flare, red crown sparking as they take a step closer. "I brought all those others back, why can't I-"
"They were the pillars of the very order of the world-"
"They were fucking MONSTERS!" Lamb shouts. "And what, death isn't?"
"It is," The Seller says, unaffected by the screaming. "But you are the Bishop of Death now. The cycle has begun again."
Lamb feels like they've taken an arrow to the chest. They stumble forward, and then to their knees. "No," they whimper. "There has- has to be some way to bring him back."
The Mystic Seller stares at them. "You were the one to kill him," They point out, and Lamb feels bile rise in their mouth as their breathing gets faster. "Why would you want him back? A thriving cult, an usurped crown, his spells in your hand-"
"Shut up," Lamb hisses.
"-you have all the power you could ever want, little sheep. Your revenge against the murder of your people."
"He wasn't the one to do it!" They shout up at the Seller, despite the hypocrisy- it had been part of their thoughts when they'd raised the axe again and again and again; the resentment of if it wasn't for you-
"No, no, no, no, no," They whimper, holding onto their biceps and shaking. "Narinder."
It is the first time they have said his name in five years. That realization is what makes the tears finally fall.
Their throat is hoarse when they finish, eyes swollen and blood pooled around them, skin already healing back to perfection where they had clawed through. The Mystic Seller stares at them and sways, silent.
"No," The Lamb finally says, and gets up, determined. Walks past the Seller, to the door behind, leading to the Gateway.
They wonder how they never realized. Or maybe they did, and were just lying to themselves that they didn't.
Lamb reaches the crater, with the rusted chains and wooden crucifixes rising out from the fog around it and comes to a halt.
Narinder is exactly where they left him.
Bones only now. Blackened by all the rituals he performed, he'd told them once; perfectly placed, like he had just fallen.
Lamb still has the ointment they made with their first cult sitting in the back of their cupboard, back when they were naive enough to think it would only take months. Ointment spelled to help grow back the fur on his rotting arms, worn to nothing by a thousand years of pulling at the chains and them tightening on him every time he moved in response.
The skull could be anyone's, now.
Two ribs are broken, where Lamb's axe went through. Straight to the heart.
Lamb exhales and shakily kneels to the ground, lowering himself to Narinder's side, careful to not dislodge a single bone out of place, and molds their body around the skeleton in a perverse mockery of a lover's embrace. Violently, abruptly, they want that, so much it burns- Narinder's arms holding the close one last time. It feels unbearable, to have- to have him lowered to meet Lamb at his level, to have him attainable instead of a towering, unreachable, terrible eldritch horror, and for him to be dead.
Oh, Lamb thinks, shaking as tears form in their eyes. Oh, I loved you. I love you.
"Darling," They choke out, tracing one cheekbone. "My baby. My one. My death. Come back, will you?"
Narinder opens his eyes and shoots them an unimpressed look. Lamb sobs, shoulders heaving, gasping as claws embed themselves in their throat- whole, complete, strong, paw soft as a cloud, faint markings on the fur Lamb never knew he had now drenched with blood.
They laugh, smiling through the tears as they push forward into the claws, flesh ripping and tearing as they push their mouth closer to Narinder's.
"I am sorry," They whisper. Narinder growls. "i love you."
"Traitor-"
"Fuck the crown," Lamb breathes back, moving to straddle Narinder to interrupt him, keeping the weight on their own knees to not damage his healing ribs. His claws are still in their throat, tangled in their stitches. "Fuck the power. Fuck the cult. Fuck religion. I only ever wanted you."
Narinder stills, looking up at them with sharp eyes. Lamb laughs around his beloved's fingers. "I only ever want you. What is life without you, Antim?"
Narinder studies them. Lamb waits, bloodied and grinning, patiently waiting, smitten to have those beautiful trifecta eyes upon them once more.
"I promised you," They whisper. "I promised to break you out of here. Let me, my one. My only one, who has waited so long."
Narinder takes a breath, tilting his chin down and then up. His claws twitch in Lamb's vocal chords, drawing them down closer to him.
Lamb whoops in joy and reaches up to toss the crown to the side, fitting their hooves to the last chain wrapped around Narinder's neck, binding him still to the Gateway, and splinters it into a thousand pieces, never to hold anyone ever again.
"Come," The Lamb whispers finally, moving back and gathering their lover up in their arms, still pressing their mouths together. "Let me take you home, Narinder. Mere jaan. Meri mrityu. My one."
Narinder sighs and buries his face in the crook of Lamb's neck as they start to walk away. "Turn back around, idiot. We cannot leave without the damned crown. And I am picking out the wedding decorations."
"Of course, my love," Lamb coos, and leans in again to kiss their greatest mistake.

oh other minuscule moment from the finale that actually gutted me was the moment after the accord were figuring out what cities would welcome the refuges, and matt voiced some random diplomat saying byroden would offer the refugees and laura’s choice to have vex speak up and offer whitestone in response to that but THEN after opal speaking up and being like ! who is from byroden? and idrk if it was intentional on laura’s part but her body language was kind of taken aback like she found the question jarring but then vex still, despite the fact that she hadn’t been the one to speak up for byroden and is acting in her capacity as one of whitestone’s leaders during that moment, does choose to affirm that she’s from byroden. head in hands. twins from byroden save me. save me twins from byroden.
like god it makes me especially insane because vex married the I Live As Long as Whitestone Lives man who cares so deeply about the roots that tie people to the places they come from and the fact that part of percy’s speech to keyleth in that moment points out that the notion of being form nowhere because your home was destroyed is a terrible notion and that vex, who at that point in canon, was from a place that was destroyed always makes me emotional. and then fucking aabria decided to casually mention in exu when they visited byrodin that not only is there a statue to vax and vex but that in their festival there’s a whitestone colourgaurd. and just . listen man. ill start losing it if i think about vex’s growth and the way her role as a diplomatic figure in exandria is sooooo compelling as her like. End Role. bc like. it’s her, this character who struggled with forgiveness consistently, taking on a role that requires her committment to the notion that things can always be repaired if not replaced, and it echoes her personal relationships too; her hometown as a place that holds pieces of whitestone on their celebratory days, syngorn as a place that has seemingly improved its diplomatic role in exandria as vex has also improved her relationship with her father. it just makes me insane man.

The smaller one flinched violently when emile held onto him, but once he realized that he wasn't in any pain, he sniffled as he leaned into the pets and the kiss. His big eyes looked up to emile...and he sniffled again as tears came into his eyes. He gave a small nod to emiles words, then he leaned forward to bury his face into emiles side...and he started to cry.
The larger one, obviously, couldn't believe what the smaller one was doing. His eyes were wide and he was staring at the other one with bewilderment. But then he blinked at the compliment...and once again his tail wagged. He opened and closed his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but nothing would come out, so then he shook his head and snorted slightly, as if he would never dream of hurting them who is Emile kidding-
The middle one, the one that seemed the most skittish out of the three, let out a tiny whimper as he hesitantly scooted around the larger one. He stared at Emile and how he was holding the smaller one...as if he wanted that. He wanted to be held like that. But he's...scared. his tail was between his legs and his head was down, every step he made he would flinch at seemingly nothing and dive right back to the leader. Poor guy.
"Virgil, you sick son of a freak!" Remus snarled, "A human being isn't a fucking pet for you to have around the damn fucking house! That's a human being, with rights! Really?! What if he feels alone while you're at work? What if he wants to talk to someone else besides Janus and you? What if he wants to go outside and smell the damn fucking roses?! Oh, right, you won't let him. Virgil, he's a human being. He's not some pet to keep locked away for the rest of his life! If you want that, get a damn hybrid that looks like him! That's neglect and abuse, Virgil! I won't do that to him if I send him somewhere else! I'll let him do whatever he fucking wants to do! I won't keep him locked away!"
Patton knocked desperately at the strangers door, praying someone, anyone was home. His heart beat as fast and loud as the rain thundering against the sidewalk. He was sure he was being followed, they were going to catch him. They were going to drag him back. He wasn't sure if whoever lived here might be worse, but he was willing to risk it at this point. Anything to escape.
{@moralpuppylover2}
Janus didn't know who would be at the door. It was late, but his master won't surely be home at this time. He normally doesn't get home until the sun starts to come up.
So, as the dog hybrid walked up to the door and opened it, he wondered who it could be. And if he should open it at all... Who knows, he may get in trouble with his master for opening the door. But, his curiosity was getting the better of him-
He stopped when he saw the soaking wet cat standing at the doorway. He could tell that this cat needed help almost immediately. Well, if his poor state of clothes were anything to go by. His eyes flickered up and down the sidewalk before he grabbed pattons arm and pulled him inside.
"are you alright?" Janus nervously asked as he grabbed a towel from the mud room. "Well, that's a stupid question, of course you're not alright! Are you...running away from your owners?" As Janus walked, the collar around his neck would jingle loudly. And even though it was cold outside and even in the house, he only had a pair of boxers on. Because of that, Patton would be able to see the numerous large scars that covered his body...and the countless amounts of fresh bruises.

scott summers x male reader where Scott gets hit with someones love mutation ( basically like a love potion type of situation ) and Scott " falls in love" with male reader, but scoot acts the same as he always does, because he is already in love with male reader.
Scott Summers x mutant male reader
Headcanons
Tumblr media
Readers mildly based on Atom Smasher, at least power-wise. Still tired from working all week, but it is what it is. I eat up Scott being awkward, I hc him as autistic if anyone cares. Cuz I love Scott, and Scott is me.
You were on X-men, with a mutation that let you change your size. Like ant-man, but cooler, if anyone asked you. You didn’t need a suit to change your size, so in your mind you were the original.
How long you had been an x-men doesn’t matter much, just enough time for Scott to fall in love with you, but not long enough that you could read between all his actions.
Which isn’t very obvious to anyone but the teams telepaths, who can hear his thoughts because of different mind bonds they share. Or the ones who have been on the team long enough to notice he’s giving you favorable treatment.
To you it isn’t obvious, as Scott doesn’t let it show too much. favorable treatment from Scott is things like him pulling you into the danger room to spar more, or him secretly stocking up on your favorite snacks.
Scott would stick closer to you than most, but again, to you it just comes across as the leader sticking closer to the new guy. At least, in the beginning when you are the new guy. After that, you two have kind of a strategy when it comes to fighting from all the training, which makes you believe its that.
Scott was always a bit tense or flighty, in your opinion. But everything moved so slow or fast when you changed size, so maybe it was just that. being the leader of the x-men also meant he had to have a lot of weight on his shoulders, right?
It definitely wasn’t because your suit would rip and tear a lot back when you first joined the team, before Hank and you found the right formula for a suit that would shrink and grow with you.
At least you never flashed anybody, as much as Scott would silently in his mind wish you did. Which just ended up with him getting a lot of ribbing from Jean and whoever else could hear his thoughts.
When Scott was hit with the enemy mutants’ powers, no one really realized for a while.
You had been as big as a skyscraper at that point, fighting against a sentinel of all things. Why mutants would side with them, you never understood. But that’s life. This also just meant you didn’t see Scott get hit.
It was only after you guys got back to the mansion, or krakoa, depending on where and when this takes place, and other members of the team were getting treated. Hank was mostly shocked you hadn’t gotten hit, since you were so damn big and easy to hit.
The only difference in Scott was that he was hovering more than usual, hell, he even let his fingers brush against the back of your hand for like a split second but that was it.
Other than that, he’s the exact same, giving out orders and helping where he’s needed. Though, he does keep an eye on you more than usual, which isn’t that obvious with his visor and everything anyways.
Maybe Jean is out of commission for a while, so it’s Charles that realizes Scott was hit, so it takes a while.
And its only realized when Scotts thoughts spiral more than usual when it comes to you, sounding borderline obsessed and possessive. It’s when flickers of thoughts about using his optic blast on Remy when he’s doing his usual flirting that it starts setting off alarm bells.
Scott would deny anything being wrong with him, since he doesn’t feel different. Which, in the end, just outs him and his feelings to you which leaves you stunned for a while.
You end up having to sit with him and hold his hand to make him stop resisting treatment, since he’s way too focused and flustered about holding your hand.
Maybe your powers act up a bit from having these feelings put on display, because yeah, your team leader is such a damn smokeshow and he’s charming in his own way. But you never thought hed actually like you of all people.
It’s pretty awkward in the medical wing for a couple of moments, with Scott wanting to jump into the ocean at how embarrassed he feels. It doesn’t help when you grow a couple of sizes when you realize all the times you two have been grinding on each other during spars, and the table breaks right under you.
Being thrown to the floor at least makes Scott laugh. Enough for him to roll over and pull your mask off, because it’s not fair only you get to see how flustered he is, right? (it’s also because he wants to see if you are disgusted by him, but sssshhh, don’t tell anybody)
When he sees how flustered you are about it, how you keep worrying your lip and looking away it makes his heart flutter.
Scott has always been good at reading people, it comes with the job. But realizing other people like him has never been his strong suit, so he’s never really thought about it.
In the end you two kiss, even if it’s pretty clumsy and a bit weird with you being at least 8 feet tall, but you make it work. Good thing Scott doesn’t mind the size difference.
It takes a moment for you to shrink back to normal size, and you two just spend some time sitting on the floor feeling flustered and talking about it. Scott likes order in his things, so of course hed want to get this right too.
You two are not surviving leaving the medical wing for long though, especially when the rest of the team sees the smashed table. Everyone knows the real reason, but there’s so much teasing about “what were yall doing in there, huh?”
But you guys survive, even if Scott does get huffy and blushy about it. you get back at the teasing by putting the items of the teammates in places they cant reach.

[written chapter]
[warning: smut 🧍]
serim and jimin got into the car, the latter slamming the door and with an expression that denoted annoyance everywhere you looked. she was quiet, but grumbled with intentions of letting the other woman notice her discomfort. she grabbed the seat belt and tugged at it with annoyance as she put it on.
"jimin, can you stop trying to wreck my car?" finally spoke serim with a kind tone. "i know you're mad about yeeun-"
"i'm not mad about yeeun." she interrupted, her attitude cold. "in fact, i couldn't care less about yeeun."
"baby." the older one leaned down to put her hand on her thigh, stroking her skin with her thumb trying to soothe her.
"don't 'baby' me." she interrupted her before she could say anything else, mimicking the way she called her.
"okay." she watched her tenderly and patiently. "jimin." she called her again.
"what, namu? what?" she asked frustrated.
"i don't feel anything for yeeun." she clarified.
"i'm not interested." she pushed the girl's hand away from her leg, her eyebrows furrowed in anger.
"clearly you're interested because otherwise, you wouldn't be like this." she reasoned, moving the hand she had pushed up to the back of her neck, squeezing her fingers gently as if she were massaging her.
"i'm not like this because of you." she didn't even look at her and her sentences came out forcefully, the way you speak when every word is laced with anger.
"then what's bothering you?" she raised her tone to a sharper one speaking ironically because she didn't believe her. "tell me so we can work it out." she looked at her amused knowing that no excuse would be good enough.
"can you leave me alone and drive?" she pointed to the steering wheel and then brought her hands to her face to rub it wearily.
"fine." she put on her seat belt. "i'll take you home." she wanted to play with her until she admitted the reason for her discomfort.
"to my place?" that wasn't what they had agreed on.
"you're mad at me." she explained simply, a calmness that was beginning to eat away at karina's insides. "i don't think you want to stay with me in this state."
"the plan was to sleep together." she watched her in bewilderment.
"jimin." she started the car. "not like this." she shook her head.
"turn off the car." she ordered, but the older girl ignored her because she thought she was being dramatic. "namu, turn off the car." she reiterated in an exclamation.
"are you going to calm down?" she obeyed and turned the key to the opposite side. "or are you going to continue with that attitude?" she glared at her, her eyes already beginning to expose the exhaustion this situation was generating in her.
"how can i not be angry?" she said reluctantly. "you bring me to a place where your ex-girlfriend is and i have to watch her rub up against you all night." she brought her gaze forward, staring at the parking lot wall as she let out a deep sigh. "it was our first event as a couple." she mentioned, disappointment in her voice. "or as whatever we are."
"baby." she gave her cheek a caress. "i didn't know yeeun would be here." she justified. "but the moment i saw her i told her i was with you." she assured. "yes, she was drunk and too fond of me-"
"don't remind me." she rubbed her temple pressing a little hard against the jadedness.
"but i kept pushing her away and reminding her that i was with you." she added softly trying to show her that there was nothing to worry about. "i haven't felt anything for her for years." she made it clear again. "no approach from her made me feel anything, i love you." she took her hand gently and lifted it to leave a kiss on the back of it.
"i know." she sighed. "you don't need to tell me, i already know." she redirected the hand serim was holding to rest her palm on her leg. "but i just hate seeing you around other girls." she confessed laden with row. "and yeeun is your ex-girlfriend." she squeezed the older girl's thigh as a result of her annoyance. "she's already hugged you, kissed you, seen you naked." she bit her lip, her eyebrows still a sign of her emotions.
"but it hasn't been that way for a long time now." she let her touch fall on the hand the contrarian held over her. "and now i want you to do those things." she leaned in to leave a kiss on her cheek.
"it drove me crazy all night." she commented, now speaking as she had a pout on her lips. "but the worst moment was when she sat on your lap." she reminded overwhelmed. "i'm going to sound crazy, but i fantasized about pulling her off you by the hair." she laughed wickedly.
"you are crazy, my love." she confirmed, laughing with her, a little terrified. "and delusional." she added. "with those little hands of yours do you think you could hurt anyone?" she pointed to said parts of her body, laughing even more at the idea.
"they're the hands i touch myself with when i think of you." she let out with complete seriousness, her eyes locked on serim's as if she was expectant of her reaction. "i have no problem with them for that."
"jimin, what?" her breathing had stopped in her throat due to the unsettled she had been at what the opposite had said, she turned a little back to her seat so she could see her face well waiting in case she started to laugh and prove it's a joke, but she was serene. "do you touch yourself thinking about me?" she resumed, she didn't know what to say.
"namu." her touch on her thigh began to rise leisurely. "you are mine, you know that, don't you?" her gaze was penetrating, the kind where you feel that the other is really seeing you, that they want to tell you something with their eyes.
"of course i know." in her orbs you could see the anticipation of what was about to happen.
"only mine." she stated, causing the oldest to slowly nod her head. "let's get it straight."
karina ran down what was left of untouched leg until she reached as high up as she could, to the point where serim's leg ended, her crotch covered by her clothing. she gave her a blank stare, as if asking for permission, and while their eyes were silently connected, she lifted her fingers a little being able to brush her fingertips over the area she really wanted to get to.
"jimin." she cocked her head as if warning her of possible danger, but the younger girl didn't care.
"namu." she replied defiantly.
the blackhaired girl turned back to her seat to quickly detach her seatbelt which had had no use as the car had not moved, turned to her partner and leaning on the steering wheel of the idle car propelled herself, rising from her seat and swinging her leg over the girl so as to sit on her lap. she moved back a little until her back was pressed against the wheel and she was over the girl's knees, leaving a small space between them where her hand conveniently fit perfectly. wordlessly, under the watchful eye of a serim who was still trying to process what was happening, she darted to one of the sides looking for the lever that tilted the driver's seat back, pulling it slightly once she found it, causing the chair to recline and thus finally pouncing on jang to capture her lips.
the kiss was desperate, frantic, charged with need and anger. jimin was angry, as her lips intertwined with her girl's, the image of her ex touching her, climbing on top of her, seeking her kisses ate her, burned her. she wanted serim to get things clear, to determine what kind of person she was and how she would react if something like this happened again, that she didn't like it, that she was hers.
serim was out of place, she hadn't had that kind of contact with jimin in a while and at that moment she wasn't expecting it at all, leaning back against the backrest she clasped her hands around the younger girl's waist, holding her tightly to keep her in the position she was in. she gave in to the kiss with pleasure, she would never object to kissing the woman she loved, not even in a public parking lot.
they both ate each other's mouths fiercely, quickly, the kind of desperation that desire brings. jimin's tongue gave a small lick to serim's lower lip asking her permission to enter, to which the contrary granted her the act thus initiating a battle for dominance between the two. the younger woman's hands began to wander from her partner's jaw heading down, past her shoulders and down her arms, taking her hands as she reached them and positioning them on her thighs, because she knew she liked them. after taking her woman's touch to her legs, she brought her palms to her chest to begin to feel her torso patiently moving slowly down to her abdomen where she paused for a second to touch. she continued her way down to the edge of her pants, holding them between her fingertips, moving them tantalizingly as a smile tugged against serim's mouth.
"what are you planning, baby?" serim broke off slightly to ask in a whisper.
jimin just bit her lower lip as she smiled.
she connected her lips with the girl's again, but this time slowly, calmly, a caress between their mouths, but the kind of caresses you give to skin when you have nothing covering it, the intimate kind that no one is allowed to see. she held the edge of serim's pants securely so she could grab the button and pull it loose, causing serim to gasp for air through her nose. the blackhaired grabbed the zipper and started to slowly pull it down giving her room so she could slip in.
she pulled serim's pants down as far as she could and gradually slipped her hand into her underwear, deep down, until she reached her lower lips. she gave a gentle caress as they kissed each other slowly. as she felt the touch on her core serim couldn't resist the urge to dig her nails into the skin of jimin's bare legs who was wearing a dress.
she subtly moved up and down her fingers without putting them in yet, drawing low sighs from serim's lips, who struggled to concentrate on the kiss when in reality she wanted to fully feel the hand exploring her intimacy.
jimin cut the kiss short to stare into serim's eyes as she parted her lower lips with her fingertips to enter a finger that would then wander along the expanse of serim's pussy, doing it once, a second and a third time. serim wasn't the type to moan, so heavy sighs escaped her lips each time the girl played with her as she did.
although she couldn't hold back a soft whimper when karina started to make circles on her clit. at a slow pace, as if she wanted to torture her, she seemed not to remember that it was all happening in a public space and that if she didn't hurry they could get caught. but serim wouldn't stop her even being aware of that. she couldn't. it felt good, how could it not feel good. the girl she loved had her fingers in her pants.
jimin added one more finger and rubbed the girl's center with them, making little circles that had the oldest moving her waists against her hand slyly.
even for lovemaking she didn't like to give jimin the upper hand, but she was enjoying it.
the younger one probed the area again covering it with her fingers so she could reach the hole that begged for her, with the tip of her index finger teasing and playing with it, barely dipping it, barely leaving the surface. it was so wet and wanting that jimin couldn't help the feeling of fulfillment. she loved remembering the power she had over serim, how much she loved and needed her.
"jimin." muttered jang, as if she was nagging at her.
"don't call me jimin." she teased, a pout on her lips.
"my love." she corrected.
"what do you need, my namu?" her hand kept circling her entrance without giving in yet. she loved playing with her.
"put them in." she demanded, her gaze serious, her eyes slightly squinted.
"what do you need, my namu?" she cocked her head to the side feigning confusion.
serim sat up, her legs as wide as they could be with jimin on her knees, giving her room to do whatever she wanted, she raised her hand quickly and grabbed the girl by the hair to pull it, causing her head to throw back a bit, the act was a bit brutish, but serim knew yu wouldn't mind and confirmed it with the moan that escaped the girl's lips. "stop fucking around and finger me, my love." she reiterated in a sarcastic tone.
jimin could try all she wanted to have control over serim, but deep down she knew she was a sucker for her, that as much as she enjoyed fighting her and taking things out on her, she lived to do whatever she asked of her. because she loved her, loved her in ways she didn't understand, and wanted to give her all of herself.
but she was still angry, she still saw yeeun every time she closed her eyes and jealousy was the only feeling almost as strong as all the love she felt for serim, forcing her to remember whose woman she was and why no one else could touch her. she regained her composure and made enough strength to straighten her head again, causing serim to let go of her hair and before her palm could begin to slide down her back, karina had already pushed her back against the backrest and succumbed to her desires.
she inserted a finger into her clenching hole, everything else she had done calmly, but now she had no patience, taking advantage of the dripping fluids to insert it cleanly all the way in.
serim closed her eyes and arched her back a little at the intruder in her body, opening her mouth without a sound, but all her body language was enough to know that she had given her a wave of pleasure that crashed against her whole body. at a not so fast pace, jimin began to move it outward and inward.
"i told you my fingers work wonders." she said as she moved into the girl's pussy, gentle thrusts at a steady pace. they weren't serim's fine, veiny, long-fingered hands, which just thinking about them already felt like her own pussy was dripping, but they were giving her the pleasure she wanted.
"you're so full of yourself." replied the oldest laughing, but interrupting herself with the gasping breath she couldn't hold as she was being fucked by jimin.
karina added a second finger, feeling serim's walls contract around these, wanting to trap them so she wouldn't come out of her until she came in them. serim bit her lip as her hips pushed against the opposite hand in search of more contact in a way she could no longer disguise.
"baby." she let out with the air that escaped her at the thrusts from the youngest, her pussy throbbed at the situation, the touches that were now firm and more continuous, the way jimin was playing with her entrance with her fingers that were making her see lights while her eyes were kept closed to enjoy the world of sensations she was feeling.
still lost in the touch of the younger one, serim had the strength to detach her claws from her girl's legs and moved her caresses up them until she reached the edge of her dress, she wanted to lift it, but with her free hand jimin stopped her, pushing them away.
"let me please you." jang pleaded with her gaze locked on her thighs.
"this is about you." she threw her body forward coming within inches of her lips. "do you want to please me?" she left a chaste kiss on her mouth. "choke me." she ordered.
and serim didn't need to be told twice, she took advantage of the closeness between their bodies to raise her arm and capture karina's neck between her fingers, squeezing hard, biting with intensity as she watched her eyes roll back as she felt the contact. for a moment she even felt her thrusts stop as she succumbed to the lust she felt at being deprived of air by those hands she fantasized about when she was alone, but quickly and under her girl's oxygen restriction, she resumed the movement, now not only moving frantically inside the older woman but also rubbing her palm against her clit, exerting pressure on it with each lunge.
serim had two fingers stretching her hole as they fastly pushed in, apart from feeling the stimulation in her center, her head was on either side, blinded by passion and pleasure, as she tried to remember to keep the strength on the younger's neck. jimin's fingers slid as far in as they would go and slid out and back in as fast as they could.
serim let go of karina's neck making the girl whine, but quickly shut her up by slipping the same amount of fingers that were fucking her pussy, but inside her mouth, to which the blackhaired had no more complaints as she started licking and sucking them without thinking about it much.
but nothing could distract her from her work inside her girl's underwear, her fingers went back and forth inside her while serim no longer controlled her hips that begged for release, pushing against her hand, fucking herself against it, her breathing agitated and some low, almost inaudible whimpers were coming from her lips.
jimin could feel her fingers being squeezed inside the girl whose pussy pulsed uncontrollably and she knew she wouldn't last much longer so she increased the speed of her thrusts as much as she could helping her reach orgasm.
serim's ears suddenly heard nothing anymore and her hand that was still in jimin's mouth suddenly fell out of it. her back that had arched fully during her climax became discontracted, her eyes remained closed and her mouth went from biting tensely due to the desperation she had felt to cum to being slightly open to catch her breath.
she had to stop smoking.
jimin was also agitated and took that moment to relax and breathe, while looking tenderly at her partner. she carefully pulled her hand out, causing a startle in serim as she removed her fingers from inside her and immediately brought them to her mouth to clean them with her tongue. act that serim opened her eyes to watch attentively.
"if you keep doing that i'll be the one who will have to fuck you." spoke the oldest lost in the way both digits went in and out of karina's lips.
"then let's go home so you can fuck me." she replied simply.

I'm plagued by the idea of this Nightwing fic, guys.
Like. Like. Imagine.
The premise of having a crush on the golden boy, of all heroes. The one who dated gorgeous, clever, strong Batgirl. And gorgeous, clever, alien princess with superpowers Starfire. And gorgeous, clever, perfect, dozens of other girls across all comics and shows.
Everyone loves him. Superman loves him. He even has a great relationship with his exes.
He's kind, intelligent, emotionally mature, strong, and a good leader. He's Batman's greatest success.
Hell. When he became a billionaire, he immediately gave it up to fund the Pennyworth foundation and help those in need.
He's the guy who chooses to be good. Not because it's easy, but because it's the right thing to do. Who doesn't expect anything but perfection out of himself.
He's the textbook definition of the perfect hero and perfect person.
Now—and that's where the fun part comes in—, imagine again being the woman who crushes on him.
You're not perfect. As a matter of fact, you're deeply flawed. You consistently make bad decisions, react impulsively, are prone to violence, and spiral into negative thoughts.
(Because it's even more visceral this way: you, thinking you need to become this perfect person to be seen by him, but failing to even be good at every turn and hating yourself for it.)
(Because he's not perfect. He pushes himself to be, and most of the time, it's fine. He chooses to be happy, kind, and strong. And it's not that hard to do, once you've tried it enough. But he's human. He makes mistakes. Sometimes, he's not even the one making the mistakes. No one is. But he still blames himself for it. And too much of that, and he crumbles.)
(But you don't see it. Not at first. You see the perfect facade, the perfect friends, and you think this is what you have to be to be worthy of love.)
Imagine that moment. That realization—he struggles too.
You don't have to be perfect to be seen.
He doesn't have to be perfect to be loved.
... I need to write the fic, don't I?

okay so i haven't watched the episode and honestly i don't think i'm going to, there's a lot i've heard about what's happened with vm that i really don't know how i feel about yet
but it's been a long time since the cast were playing c1, huh
like i don't blame them if they've forgotten or moved on from the themes of it, it was a decade ago and sometimes this stuff changes
but as far as the characters go, like. yeah, loving people and losing them was keyleth's worst fear, and they all knew that from the start
vax let the choice to be in a relationship be hers because he didn't want to push her into something that would inevitably be traumatic for her
(and he even apologised when he died because "i've confirmed your worst fears and then some")
but loving vax was the start of her overcoming that! he's always had a huge heart despite the losses he's been through and he wears it on his sleeve. his entire philosophy is best summed up by his quote to vex in 72, when she's beating around the bush about admitting she likes percy, "what the fuck do we have in this world except moments with each other? that's all we've got. [...] you know what's awkward? a life not lived."
when the rest of vm tries to turn inwards and isolate themselves as protection vax drags them back together again because he knows the best remedy for a broken heart isn't to shut yourself off but to love even stronger in spite of it. and keyleth agreeing to be with him was proof some of that got through to her
and then there was kerrek, who saw that she was afraid of every step she took, because she knew she would live to see the consequences, she plotted out everything she did under the assumption she might come to regret it centuries from now. and he told her she had the soul of a gardener, and that was a good thing for a leader to have. but sometimes as a fighter, you need the soul of a blacksmith, who knows that when a project goes wrong you melt it down and try again. and he gave her a ring, as a reminder that even for a gardener, some seeds only flourish after they've been burned
and to the most important episode in keyleth's entire arc, her twisted mirror sprigg. sprigg terrified her because where everyone else looked at him and saw a kooky old man, she saw, in crystal clarity, her future. a retired adventurer who'd shirked his duty out of spite, who lived in utter isolation, all his friends dead so long ago he didn't even remember their names.
but (ignoring for now all the other potential consequences of that particular choice by bells hells) they helped him find himself again. they helped him find meaning in service to ioun, and in ioun's library, where nothing is ever forgotten. and once he was given a reason to remember, he realised none of their names had ever left him. a friendship that meaningful cannot be erased by time, and if you lose it, you can always find it again
she had all the coping mechanisms and support a narrative could provide. and while "how am i supposed to get over you if you keep sending ravens to me?" "i am imperfect, as are the gods" lives forever in my mind, i wonder how the vax of c1 would feel, seeing this
The thing that kills me about Keyleth getting Vax back is how anti character development it is for her.
Her horror at how her increased lifespan will inevitably result in her outliving people she loves is something introduced in campaign one, and losing Vax is the very first taste of that inevitability. Campaign three shows us Keyleth as a woman who has spent thirty years refusing to move on and develop a healthy relationship with grief, still terrified by the prospect of outliving those she loves. And then she gets her dead boyfriend back, and he's immortal now, so she'll never lose him again.
It's pathetic! It's sad! It's kicking the can down the road! What's she gonna do when Percy dies? Grog? Every friend she has besides her immortal dead bf? Is her social circle just gonna close up further and further till it's just her and Vax for a thousand years, because Keyleth never learned how to mourn people she loves while also forming new meaningful relationships, and was in fact rewarded by the narrative for refusing to do so?

The training rooms smelled of sweat, determination, and dreams that didn’t come easy. Chris always lingered a little longer than the others, his eyes fixed on the mirrors, wondering if his reflection would ever transform into someone worthy of debut. For years, it was the same – watching friends reach their dreams while he stayed behind, burdened by doubt.
There was also you. You weren’t just another trainee to Chris. Sure, you were a hard worker, someone who matched his relentless pace, but you were also his anchor. Late-night conversations about dreams, shared snacks in the practice room, and bursts of laughter after a particularly tough day made the grueling years bearable. He never told you about the way his heart would race when you smiled at him or how your encouragement after his failures felt like sunlight breaking through storm clouds. He kept that silly little teenage crush away, afraid to ruin what you two had.
But around the time Han joined the company, you decided to leave. The dream of becoming a K-pop idol didn’t burn as brightly for you anymore, and while Chris understood, he hated losing yet another close ally. One day, you were practicing next to him and the next day, you were just… gone.
The years passed. Stray Kids debuted, and Chris threw himself into his work, becoming the leader his members needed him to be. Life moved on, but every now and then, in quiet moments, he’d wonder what you were doing.
It wasn’t until one day, years later, when he was catching up with Sana that your name came up.
“You remember Y/N?” Sana asked casually over coffee, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
“Of course, I remember her,” Chris said with a small smile. “It’s been years, though. I haven’t talked to her since…” His voice trailed off, the memory bittersweet. “I wonder how she’s doing.”
Sana grinned. “Funny you should say that. I got her number recently. Want it?”
Chris blinked, startled. “Her number?”
“Yep,” Sana said, sliding her phone toward him. “Go on. Text her. She’d probably love to hear from you.”
That night, Chris sat on his bed, your number staring back at him from his phone screen. He hesitated, typing and deleting messages, his nerves getting the better of him. Days passed before he finally worked up the courage to text you.
“Hey, this is Chris. Sana gave me your number. It’s been a while. How have you been?”
Chan hit send and immediately regretted it. What if you didn’t reply? What if you didn’t want to talk to him at all? He set his phone down, trying to distract himself, but every buzz made his stomach flip.
A few hours later, his phone lit up.
“Chris as in Christopher Bang Chan?”
He smiled, relief washing over him as he quickly typed back. “Yeah, it’s me. This is Y/N, right?”
Your reply came almost instantly: “Yeah. It’s been ages! I can’t believe you’re texting me!”
Chris hesitated for a moment, his thumbs hovering over the keyboard, before replying, “I’ve missed you. I hope you’re doing well.”
There was a brief pause before your next message arrived: “I am, thanks. You too. I’m proud of you. I’ve watched your MVs – You’ve come so far.”
The thought of you keeping up with his career sent a rush of warmth through him. He stared at your message for a moment, rereading it before typing back. “I wouldn’t be here without you. You know that, right?”
Your reply came with a teasing tone that made him laugh out loud. “Once you’re famous and living the idol life, you forget to text old friends, huh? 😜”
“Hey, I’m here now!” he shot back.
And just like that, the ice was broken. Over the next few days, your texts became constant – snippets of your lives, fond memories of the trainee days, and playful banter. It felt like no time had passed, and yet, in some ways, everything had changed.
One day, Han caught Chris grinning at his phone in the corner of the dorm. It was rare to see their leader so visibly relaxed, much less smiling to himself. Intrigued, Han leaned in, nearly giving Chris a heart attack.
“Hyung, who’s got you giggling like that? Is it someone I know?”
Chris scrambled to lock his phone. “It’s nothing, it’s just...an old friend. Do you remember Y/N from when we were trainees?”
Hearing him say your name, Han’s curiosity only grew. “Not really, but you were pretty close right? Hyung, why are you just texting? You should meet her. It’s been years, right? I bet she’d love to catch up.”
Chris hesitated. Meeting you in person? That thought felt heavier than he expected. He wasn’t sure why.
“Hyung.” Han’s tone softened, sensing his hesitation. “You’ve told me stories about her. She meant a lot to you back then, right? What’s stopping you?”
It was a question Chris couldn’t easily answer, but it nudged him to act. A few days later, after much internal debate, he texted you.
“How about coffee this weekend? There’s this café I like. We could catch up properly.”
Your response was quick and enthusiastic: “I’d love that! Let me know the place and time.”
-----
The café was warm and inviting, its earthy tones and gentle lighting creating a cozy ambiance. Chris arrived first, nervously fiddling with his phone as he waited. He hadn’t seen you in years, and the thought of reconnecting stirred a mix of excitement and anxiety. Would he recognize you? Would it feel the same as it did back then?
When the bell above the door chimed, Chan looked up, and there you were. You hadn’t changed much, and yet, you looked so different. The teenage girl he remembered had matured into someone who carried themselves with quiet confidence. Your smile was the same, though, lighting up your face as you spotted him.
“Chris,” you greeted, and the sound of his name in your voice felt like a time machine.
He stood, unsure whether to hug you or shake your hand, but you made the decision for him, pulling him into a warm embrace. “It’s been forever,” you said, pulling back to look at him. “You haven’t changed.”
Chris chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his neck. “You have – in a good way. You look… happy.”
The two of you ordered drinks and found a quiet corner. The conversation started easy – catching up on the basics, sharing stories from your lives since those trainee days. But as the initial excitement settled, the mood grew more reflective.
“Do you regret it?” Chris asked suddenly, breaking the silence. His voice was soft, but his gaze was intense, searching your expression for any flicker of doubt. “Leaving the company, I mean. Giving up on… that dream.”
You took a sip of your coffee, considering his question. “No,” you said finally, your voice steady. “I don’t regret it, Chris. After I quit I realized that I was chasing something that wasn’t really mine to chase. I think I was trying to prove something to myself, or maybe to others.”
You paused, hesitating before continuing. “I realized after I left that the dream I really wanted… it was never an option for me. Producing music, having creative control—it was never going to happen as a girl in a girl group, not in that company, not at that time. They had a mold, and I didn’t fit into it. Once I understood that, it was like a weight lifted off my shoulders. I stopped trying to be someone I wasn’t.”
Chris’ eyes softened, a flicker of something unspoken passing through them. “That… must’ve been tough to come to terms with.”
“It was,” you admitted. “I was angry for a while, at myself, at the system. But after I left, I started to see that it wasn’t the end. There’s more than one way to make a dream come true, and the path I’m on now—it feels right for me. I’m happy where I am.”
Chris nodded, processing your words. “You always seemed so sure of yourself back then. I guess I just… I admired that.”
You laughed lightly, shaking your head. “I wasn’t as sure as you think. But thank you. That means a lot, coming from you.”
There was a moment of quiet, the café’s gentle hum filling the space between you. Then Chris tilted his head slightly, his curiosity getting the better of him. “Do you still do music? Like creating or singing?”
You smiled, the question sparking something warm in you. “Yeah, I do. It’s just a hobby now, though. I write and sing at home when I feel like it. It’s… different from before, but it brings me a lot of joy.”
“That’s great,” Chris said sincerely. “I’m glad you haven’t let it go completely. Music was always such a big part of who you are.”
You nodded, your fingers tracing the rim of your coffee cup. “It still is. But right now, I haven’t really been doing much with it. I just moved back to Seoul recently, so I’m still settling in. Once things are a bit more stable, I’d love to dive back into it.”
“You moved back?” Chris asked, his eyes lighting up. “How long ago?”
“Just a couple of months,” you said. “I wanted a change, and Seoul felt like the right place to be.” Then, after a brief pause, you added, “You know, once everything’s in order, you should come by sometime. I’ve been meaning to show someone my music setup—well, when I finally unpack it all.”
Chris’ eyes widened slightly in surprise, then softened with a warm smile. “Yeah? I’d like that. It’d be nice to hear what you’ve been working on since.”
“It’s nothing fancy – no chart-topping masterpieces” you said quickly, brushing off the compliment with a wave of your hand. “But it’s always fun to share it with someone who gets it.”
“I’d love to,” he said, his sincerity unmistakable. “Just let me know when you’re ready. No rush.”
As the sun dipped lower in the sky, casting golden light through the café windows, the two of you lingered, caught in a space that felt timeless. There was something comforting about reconnecting, about seeing the ways you had both changed and grown, yet still finding the same thread of understanding that had tied you together all those years ago.

❀Cregan doesn't see it coming. He's always so busy trying to be the best leader he can be. He doesn't see himself having time for any romantic pursuits.
❀It starts with Cregan discovering he finds peace in your company. He's always thinking, always trying to do what's best for Winterfell. You are the first person Cregan feels his mind quiet down around.
❀Cregan beings to seek you out. Even when he's busy, he likes to sit with you. Your company enough helps rid himself of the pressure he faces. The occasional meetings become daily as he seeks you out.
❀Cregan begins to get to know you through these meetings. His curiosity for you begins to grow. He soon can't imagine not spending time without you.
❀It's not until Cregan needs to find a significant other, does someone suggests you. Cregan is taken aback by the statement. Eyeing them suspiciously before the individual reinforcing the statement.
❀Even then, it doesn't hit Cregan straight away why they're suggesting you. He's clueless until Cregan's observing you from afar. He's noticed the minor details about you. The way you smile, and the kindness in your eyes as you interact with others. Cregan finds himself smiling with you.
❀It strikes him then like a punch to the gut. He could imagine ruling Winterfell with you by his side. He wouldn't mind being married to you and managing whatever troubles come into play with you at his side.
❀Now, people's words make sense to him. His apparent feelings have been clear to everyone for ages. Who could he be so clueless?
❀When Cregan's realised his feelings towards you, he's going to make his intentions clear. He's going to approach you with the intent to court you within a matter of sunrises. He's done wasting time. How would could he have been such a naive fool?
