1 - I am not American, I am watching this from Australia so my words are being said as someone who can & will see & experience the global effects of Trumps presidency.
2 - yes, protesting right now is hard everywhere, in Australia we had threats of snipers on October 7 this year if we marched for Palestine.
Project 2025 will make it so much worse and plans to target pro-Palestine people specifically,
3 - you have 2 choices for president right now.
Kamala: who will continue to support the genocide I Gaza while she promises to try to fix things in the USA
Or
Trump: who will ALSO continue to support the genocide, maybe even ramp it up, while also dismantling workers rights, environmental regulations, destroy the economy further, and so on. He's literally bffs with Netanyahu.
This is not a decision about "who lines up with my ideals?" It's "who will be easier to fight against?"
Almost all the problems you are facing right now are cuz of Trump's first presidency: Roe v Wade being overturned (+ everything else the Supreme Court has done), food recalls due to eroding of food & health regulations, & everything the Republicans are blocking in the senate. Do you really want more?
Don't get me wrong, I hate the Democrats, they don't do anything. They're fuckin useless.
I'm not pretending to care, I care about everyone.
The problem is this:
You have to make a choice, if you do not make the choice, the worst outcome will be chosen for you.
Unfortunately you do need to prevent the Orange Cheeto from burning your house to the ground so you can continue to help others.
Here's an article of what will happen if Trump wins
Yes, it feels like blackmail, it probably is.
If you care about the people you talk about, vote for the person who isn't frothing at the mouth to hurt them even more.
I wish Kamala didn't support Israel.
I wish the majority of politicians didn't support Israel.
But saying "you don't care about these people if you care about those" is fuckin stupid.
Saying "you don't care about Palestine/Congo/Sudan if you care about immigrants/women/minorities/global health/workers rights" is unhelpful.
I know people want to vote for 3rd parties & in a lot of other countries that could work.
But there are several hundred 3rd party parties in the USA & they would need like 90% of the adult population of the USA to vote for them to win.
So let's look at it from the POV of the global south:
Who would you rather have in control of the USA, the main supporter of your colonisers & oppressors:
A woman who at most won't really make any changes but also won't make things like climate change worse so things like rising sea levels & famine worse, & won't start a nuclear war over a fuckin twitter dispute.
Or
A man who is frothing at the mouth to start a nuclear war, is BFFs with the leader of your colonisers/oppressors, has explicitly stated that he wants to wipe you off the face off the world, make everything related to climate change worse, cause another global depression, & has said that he wants to be US Hitler.
Neither is a good option
Both are bad options
But saying "protecting yourself so you can continue to help others is bad" is not only harmful to everyone (including the people you're claiming to support) but it also comes off really disingenuous & makes it seem like you're just lifting up the global south to drown out the voices you don't want to hear.
Not saying that's what you're doing but that's what it seems.
Sorry to post politics on main, but some of you pro-palestine people are missing the point when it comes to the US election.
At this point, there is really no alternative to voting for Kamala. RFK is not getting elected. Trump would be infinitely worse for the Israel-Palestine conflict (as well as other conflicts! and our well-being in general).
Stop virtue signaling and actually do something (vote) so that America can have a better leader than Trump. That’s all. We’re not voting for our next Messiah, we’re not voting between two perfect angels, it’s a US presidential election.
And those of you saying that Kamala is “committing genocide” really need to get things into perspective. The Vice President does not have the power to furnish weapons to Israel. Israel’s prime minister is acting in direct defiance of the Biden/Harris administration’s wishes and Harris has been the most vocal in asking for a ceasefire.
The Palestine conflict is not an excuse to not vote. Not voting makes it likely that Trump will win, history will go on whether you play a part or not. I want my reproductive rights back. Please.

I AM. CONFUSED.
#abt to vent in the tags ignore or message if you want idc#throughout the day i had been debating whether or not i had a crush on these two different people in my life#(that was yesterday)#and then. last night. i had dreamt that i wanted to tell one of them i had the crush and it was like The Plot but i never got to bc it ended#and then immediately after i had another dream where i had a boyfriend (first crush is not a boy but other one is)#except the boyfriend was not the boy i thought i had a crush on it was just some random dude#which NONE OF THIS NARROWS ANYTHING DOWN#and to make things worse. neither of these crushes are the person who i have gone on two dates with#so i feel like i may need to do some light ghosting#i think my main issue between the two crushes is this.#with the first one i have the feelings to a degree but i can’t imagine actually doing any relationship things w them#esp because we’re already best friends so like i’m good with just cuddling as friends that’s chill with me i don’t think i’m a kisser anyway#but with the other one. i have only a small amount of feelings but can picture doing the relationship things with him#but i don’t know him as well so it could be totally way off from what i think it would be like#plus there is also the issue of#even if i do have feelings for the first crush i can’t do anything about it because we’re best friends and she doesn’t see me like that#in addition to the fact that there cannot be two relationships within our five person friend group and she is emotionally unavailable#meanwhile i could fully ask out the other dude no hesitation but i might end up feeling guilty if i realize i don’t actually have feelings#and i cannot have thought i liked a person then asked them out then broke it off a week later bc i lost feelings for the third time in a row#idk i’m just really confused and don’t know what to do and am mad at myself for not being able to recognize my own emotions#this is STUPID. anyways#mari is irrelevant

his little finger
spencer reid x fem!hothead!reader
part two here
spencer has you wrapped around his finger; you'd do anything he said without question. your team can't quite understand it. little do they know you and spencer have an unsaid.. thing.
warnings: reader has a hot temper? is that a warning? | words: 1k short but sweet!
You were known to have a confident personality. You never let anyone shake you, that's why the team loved you so much. You were the sole, beating heart of Aaron Hotchner's team; you never let them give up. Not only, but you were kind of a badass. You knew how to profile amazingly, and you could hold your own if an unsub got a little too rough.
Something else you were known for? A hot temper.
Okay, maybe it could go a little bad sometimes, but you truly meant well. Like that time you accidentally made a teenage boy cry. To be fair, he was a potential unsub. He actually was the unsub, so not all was a total failure.
Today was different for you. The coffee shop you frequented before work was closed due to issues with the electrical systems. That put a chip in your day. How was one to thrive without coffee? Next, you forgot your badge at home, making you late for work since you had to retrieve it to even get into the building. That put a dent in your day.
Derek was known to be a funny guy. Not the kind of funny guy you'd actually laugh at, but the kind who kind of pissed you off sometimes. Yeah, that kind. While he meant well at heart, it just royally pissed you off. You couldn't help that!
You leaned your elbows on the table, listening to the coffee pour into your cup. "Hello my little fox," Penelope greeted, her face frowning when she saw the look on yours. "What's wrong?"
"Bad day so far," You muttered. "Everything's just going wrong."
"It's only seven," Derek said as he walked in, smile on his face. "Come on, sugar. Go on and sit down at your desk. I know how you like your coffee." You thanked Derek quickly as you went to your desk. It was right next to Spencer.
Oh, Spencer. The boy who fell hard for you, who made you fall for him. Neither of you knew that, though, your crushes remaining secret still. "Y/n," Spencer frowned, "what's wrong?"
"It's alright, Spence," You forced a small, pathetic smile. "Just a bad morning."
Spencer gave you a half smile, "Positive attitudes actually give you a higher likelihood of having a better day by ten to thirty percent," Spencer rambled, "and that actually is the same for social connections, being a twenty to forty percent. You're on the right track."
You loved Spencer's rambles. They were adorable. "Thanks, Spence." You smiled.
A few minutes later, Morgan came to your desk with your coffee in hand. "For you, sugar." He grinned like the Cheshire Cat. You quickly took a generous sip.
It left your lips quicker than it entered. You spit it out into the trash can next to your dest, face turning sour at the taste. It was so bitter, so salty. "What the hell, Morgan?!" You cried out, "What is this?"
"Salt, sugar." He teased.
Your face turned hot, "How old are you, six?" His face slowly fell as you became angrier, "Genuinely, how old are you? Because last I checked, children don't have jobs."
"Hey," Derek tried to calm you down. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to actually upset you."
"Oh, of course you didn't!" You replied with sarcasm dripping from your lips. "You just don't get when people don't want you to make them feel worse!"
Derek's face fell into a frown. You didn't mean to hurt his feelings, but you couldn't stop your words. "Y/n," Spencer said firmly, "Sit down, now."
Before you could even think, you followed his command. The whole event caught Penelope, Emily, Rossi, and JJ's attention. JJ was quick to rush over, grabbing your coffee. "I'll get you the right one, it's okay." She comforted as Emily quickly lead Derek away. Rossi and Garcia decided to mind their own business, smart.
You groaned, head in your hands. Spencer was quick to kneel by you, taking your hands into his own. "Y/n," He said softly, "Take a deep breath. I know, I know." You followed his instructions, inhaling and holding it like he demonstrated, softly letting it out after. "Good job, sweetheart, do it again for me, okay?"
After a few more times, your face cooled off. You closed your eyes, sighing. "I didn't mean to hurt his feelings."
"I know, he knows, too." Spencer assured. "He knows he was out of line. You reacted the same way anyone would. It's alright."
Spencer raised his hand to your face, softly brushing your cheek with his thumb. JJ walked over, unsure if she was ruining.. something?
"Hey, I got you your coffee," She hesitantly spoke. You looked up, reaching out quickly.
"Thanks," You mumbled, taking a cautious sip. When you realized the taste was right, you took a bigger sip, sighing at the warmth flooding down your throat.
Spencer gave you a small smile, "See? It's okay now."
You nodded with a smile, thanking him softly. He went back to his desk, re-opening his report. You did the same, clicking your pen open.
"Okay, now what the hell was that?" Derek asked, the previous team members crowding around Rossi's desk.
"I felt like I was walking in on them," JJ mumbled awkwardly. "The tension was so strong I thought it was gonna slice me clean in half."
Emily smiled, "I bet they're in love or something, only love can make a person react like that. She would've bitten anyone else's head off." Everyone mumbled in agreement.
"I bet two weeks," Rossi said after a moment.
"Nah, knowing Reid, it's gotta be more like three." Derek shook his head.
Emily laughed, "I bet a week and a half. Y/n's too badass to not admit it first."
"I don't think they ever will until we do for them." Penelope sighed, knowing how stubborn both individuals were.
"I say one week, solid." JJ nodded. "I felt that tension."
Hotch's voice came out of nowhere, "Four days."
Everyone turned around, shocked. "Hotch, you sure about that?" Derek asked, a slight tease in his voice. "You know them."
"I do," He nodded, "Four days. You'll see I'm right."

Don't feed him he'll come back (2)
simon riley x neighbour! reader
summary: The ghost that lives in your apartment is a solitary man, people tend to stay out of his way, giving him a wide berth. You can't help but think he seems a little bit lonely, cue pestering him with bad jokes and food.
word count: 1.3k
A/N: Simon's POV of events. Find part 1 here. Part 3 here 18+ nsfw themes
Simon’s not entirely sure what to make of his pretty neighbour who fattens him up with their cooking and has a penchant for bad jokes that might outshine even him. From the moment he’d caught you staring with wide eyes he’d expected wariness, or outright fear, those were the typical responses. He hadn’t expected you to force a tray of pasta bake into his hands and then promptly disappear before he could get a word in.
It’s a bit ridiculous, but the random act of kindness set his teeth on edge, enough that he’d even suspected foul play briefly. Hunger and logic eventually won out over his paranoia and Simon devoured the tray embarrassingly fast. He’s not quite sure how to face you so he simply leaves the tray outside your door and assumes that will be that.
Except it’s not. For some reason you’ve taken it upon yourself to feed him, leaving an array of dishes from dinners to snacks. Apart from an initial note inquiring into allergies you adapt his diet on experience, taking note of what he does and doesn’t seem to enjoy.
He doesn’t know how to get you to stop, nor does he really want you to. Not when he’s become entirely too reliant on you feeding him, eagerly awaiting each new dish with the excitement of a hyperactive toddler.
Price says he’s got a crush, which is just absurd, the only thing he knows about you is your name. And that your left cheek has a dimple when you smile, and that you love your cat more than anything and that-
He doesn’t have a crush.
Then the elevator breaks. It breaks with only you and him inside and instead of panicking like he expected, you only seemed mildly annoyed for a few seconds before you turned to him with a conspiratorial grin. “A bear walks into a bar and says give me a whiskey and… cola. Why the big pause? Asks the bartender. The bear shrugged. I’m not sure, I was born with them.”
Simon’s a little floored and it’s probably only his shock that prevents him from laughing because dammit, that was better than some of his. What shocks him even more is that you aren’t deterred from his silence. If anything, you seem to take it as a personal challenge and your eyes glint in determination.
It’s both a mixture of the jokes and you’re adorable determination that finally pulls a chuckle from his lips and Simon will forever remember the way your face absolutely lit up at the noise.
It’s not until he provides a joke of his own before ducking into the safety of his apartment that he briefly thinks Price may have been onto something. He staunchly pushes that thought away but then you start leaving jokes with the food and he has to admit he’s in a little bit of trouble.
You wrangle his number from him (not that he resisted very hard) and then you wrangle him into your apartment and you make him watch as you flit around your kitchen in order to feed him.
His next deployment comes at exactly the right time and Simon is prepared to spend the months away getting over you. Except this doesn’t happen because you send him a joke every day without fail, not even deterred when he rarely responds.
You send a selfie of you and your cat and Simon stares far longer than is appropriate. He’s dreamt of you before, both innocently and not so. For some reason, the distance makes this worse and Simon wakes hard and aching for you more often than not.
(Johnny walks in on him with his hand in his pants staring at a picture of you once and neither of them can look at each other for days. He thinks this is preferable to the shit-eating grins Johnny throws his way now.)
For the first time in his life, Simon’s desperate to get back from deployment to the empty apartment he barely considers his home. The empty white walls and space not seeming as depressing when he knows you’re waiting for him just across the hall. Waiting to fill the dark void in his chest that grows when he loses access to your smile.
For the first time in his life, Simon doesn’t want to leave his apartment. Each time Price calls him away from your presence starts to weigh on his soul more and more. It’s getting harder and harder to stop being Simon, to put on the mask and be the Ghost when all he can think about is you.
It all comes to a head nearly nine months after he'd initially met you. As much as he tries to ignore the way his heart sings in your presence and aches in your absence Simon can’t really deny how he feels about you anymore.
You pull him from his dangerous train of thoughts when you plop down next to him on the couch. Not exactly a new move in of itself but even then he can’t help the way he shivers at the feel of your arm against his skin.
If asked Simon wouldn’t be able to tell you a single plot point of the movie you’d put on, not when his mind was running a mile a minute and he was trying not to smell your hair like a creep.
He tenses a little when you tip against him but doesn’t push you away. Instead, he can’t help but smile softly down at you as he watches you fall deeper and deeper into the clutches of sleep. Awe and adoration in his eyes as one of his hands lightly stroked your cheek, his other arm wrapping around you to pull you closer to his chest.
You’d wormed your way into his heart months ago with all your stupid jokes and your insistence on looking after him. Not once had you ever asked for anything in return, you even seemed offended at the implication.
He wasn’t stupid enough to let you in on his feelings, not when every time he left you could end up being his last. Simon had once accidentally caught you crying over your brother, a soldier like him, though not as lucky. Your brother was dead and buried and Simon saw the toll it took on you years later even when you tried to hide it.
You were the sun. You were light and everything that was good in this world, saw the good in him, and Simon refused to be the potential reason that light was snuffed out.
He wouldn’t do that to you. But Simon wasn’t completely selfless, so he held you in his arms as he slept, letting himself imagine a life where you could be together. A life where he got to come home to you and your stupid fat cat, his apartment no longer in use and he’d hold you just like this as you slept.
This wasn’t that life, but Simon still let himself pretend it was, just for a little bit. Because Simon couldn’t deny it any longer, he loved you, was in love with you. And for that, he had to leave before he ruined you.

I deleted the ask, but someone wrote one basically saying "why do you post reaction videos to Helluva Boss? Don't you know the show exploits its workers and they're overworked and get burned out?"
And, I mean, I love your energy, person who asked, definitely hold on to those values and speak up about this. But also, I am afraid I might have some bad news for you about literally the whole entire animation industry.
As near as I can make out from the sparse journalistic reporting that's been done on SpindleHorse -- and as a sidebar, please for the love of god read actual reporting about these things and not just callout posts and fandom discourse -- as near as I can make out, SpindleHorse as a studio is neither all that much better nor all that much worse than basically anywhere else in the industry on their level. It seems like it is (or was? Hazbin Hotel seems to be run differently) a studio mostly run by contracting people on a project-by-project basis, which leads to a crapton of turnover, and a huge need for organizing and onboarding, which according to the reporting I have read, the producers and freelancers have struggled to balance and manage properly, which has negatively impacted a number of the workers.
Top that with the usual catty, clique-based backbiting, sniping and poorly managed conflict resolution that's just kinda endemic in creative environments mostly staffed by twentysomethings and stressed out freelancers, and you have the recipe for a workplace where a lot of people are going to have a great time and feel creatively fulfilled, and a lot of people are going to come away feeling justifiably burnt the fuck out and exploited.
All of this is... not especially unusual for the animation industry, or indeed for any creative industry. Which is not to say that it is good, or that it should be allowed to be normal, or that it shouldn't be reported on and criticized (and please for the love of god support unionization efforts because that's the only thing that will actually address these kinds of systemic problems). It's just to say that if those kinds of issues are the line in the sand you draw where you refuse to engage with a studio's output...
Then, for starters, say goodbye to basically all of anime, because the Japanese animation industry is actively in a state of crisis trying to recruit new talent because its working conditions and pay are so astonishingly abysmal. And the horror stories that escape from that industry make the issues at SpindleHorse look like summer camp at times.
But you also have to say goodbye to a lot of American and European animation. Please do not imagine that Disney and its subcontractors, or that Nickelodeon or Warner Bros, are benevolent employers. They exploit their staff brutally and are currently trying to crush the labor value of animation with threats of generative AI being used to replace jobs. But those corporations also have extremely well-funded PR departments and the ability to silence employees with NDAs and threats of blackballing, so you don't get to hear as many of the horror stories as you might from a smaller independent studio that's less able to silence criticism by holding people's careers hostage.
All of this is to say that 1) it's valid and important to have criticism of both large and small-scale animation studios, and to keep the well-being and happiness of the workers higher in your priorities than the output of Products™.
And 2) if you're going to have a principle for what kinds of problems make a studio's output morally untouchable for you, and what kinds of problems you think should make a studio's output untouchable to other people, you do need to apply that principle consistently to the entire industry, and not just to the independent animation studio that happens to be surrounded by the internet's most inflammatory fandom discourse.
If you don't apply that principle consistently, maybe don't send reproachful messages to strangers scolding them for not living up to your standards, and even if you do apply that principle consistently, maybe still don't do that, because it's mostly quite annoying, and doesn't really do anything to support animation workers struggling for better working conditions.
The Animation Guild in the US is currently in the middle of a bargaining process with their industry, and they have a social media press kit as well as relevant talking points on their website which you can use to post in solidarity with the workers. If it comes to a full industry strike, consider donating to their strike funds to help them maintain pressure. Outside of the US, try and find out what (if any) local unions exist for animation workers, and maybe sign up to their mailing lists. They will let you know what kind of support they need from you.

There was a knock at Lena’s door, and it startled her awake. She was awake, but also wasn’t, sitting in a side chair beside her sofa with a glass of whisky still in her hand, loosely held by tired, nerveless fingers. It nearly fell from her palm when the sound jolted her from the twilight between fitful wakefulness and falling asleep sitting up. By her side was that goddamn picture, the glass still cracked. She grabbed it and forced it down so she didn’t have to see her grinning face, feel the ghost of a warm soft cheek lightly grazing hers.
The whisky made a fiery stab at her heart as she finished it and went to the door. She already knew who it was, the only person who’d dare disturb her at this hour, and who could get past her security.
Kara stood in the hall, clad in fluffy pajamas and disbelieved, tracks left by hot tears still cut into her soft rosy cheeks. There she was, the pretty little crying princess again.
It was an act. It was bullshit. The real her was hiding behind it, standing tall, appraising Lena’s faults with eyes that could burn mountains, the cold judgment of an extinct empire carved into her godlike, inhuman beauty. Lena made herself see that, refused to let her guard down.
“What, Kara?”
“Can I come in?”
Lena didn’t even answer. She began to close the door, only for her movement to be arrested by a single word.
“Please.”
Part of her made her stop. She seethed against it, hated it. She had carved icy knives of vengeance to carve it out herself. Alcohol had failed to drown it and the sharpest logic was dull against it. It was both too hard to crush and too soft to squeeze, this hateful thing that coiled around her heart and made her feel when she had sworn never to feel again.
Kara took a halting step forward. Lena threw out her palm and pressed it into her chests, stopping her.
She shouldn’t have done that. There was something heady and intoxicating in it. Kara froze in place, and Lena could feel her pulse along her collarbones. The pinnacle of alien might, strength so vast that nothing could stand as her equal, and she stopped from Lena’s lightest touch. That was power.
“What do you want?”
“Just to talk.”
“I’ve heard your apologies. Don’t waste my time unless you have some new material.”
Kara licked her lips. “Maybe.”
They couldn’t stay like this. Resting a hand on her chest had too many possibilities. Touching her had too many implications. It would be so easy to let the soft thing win and bring her hand up and hold her palm to that soft cheek and seek to balm those tears, make it better, care.
She let herself remember that Kara’s pain was a shoeld for Supergirl’s judging wrath and pulled back, but she didn’t close the door. Kara did as she slipped inside.
Thee was a heavy pause of silence, where Kara just breathed, soft and ragged.
“Why are you here?” said Lena.
“I needed to see you. I needed to know you’re safe.”
“Nightmares?”
“Worse,” said Kara. “It was so much worse.”
The agony in her voice shook Lena.
Forcing herself to composure, she poured another three fingers of single malt and flipped into her chair, extending neither drink nor invitation to Kara. The drink was a bad idea. It was dangerous. The smokey, hazy heat of it burned the soft bitter taste of regret from her teeth. Lena didn’t look at her.
“It was the imp.”
“Excuse me?”
“It calls itself Mxy. It says it’s from the fifth dimension but I have no idea if that’s true or not. All I know is that it has vast powers, even godlike. The last time it… it tried to force me to marry it.”
Lena knew what darkness in her birthed the hot rage in her gut, the possessive jealous fury that welled within her at those worse. This thing, how dare he.
She took a drink.
“It… he came to me tonight and said he wanted to make amends. He offered to let me change the past. I could fix whatever I wanted.”
“Hmm. Must have been a trick,” said Lena. “Let me guess, restoring Krypton had some ironic Twilight Zone twist.”
Kara blanched, blinking. “No, I… I didn’t even think of that. I asked him to help me fix us.”
There is no us, Lena began to say, but the words died on her tongue. She washed the taste away.
Something in her twisted, a cold shiver like a water dumped over her head. She knew Kara’s bullshit super senses would pick up on it and steeled herself.
Rubbing her arms, Kara paced.
“I tried telling you at different times, so you’d hear it from me and not Lex or someone else.”
“What happened?” Lena said, trying to look more interested in her whisky than the answer.
It was purely an intellectual curiosity, she told herself.
“You died,” Kara said, blunt. “You died every time.”
“How?”
Every which way. Reign killed you five or six times. Mercy blew your brains out all over my chest. Lex… Lex could be creative. Poison, blades, fire once. He was fond of sadistic choices and clever tortures. Say, use red wavelengths to negate my powers and set up a sadistic challenge I could never pass, that sort of thing. It got so bad I stupidly wished I’d never met you.”
Her voice was ragged, breathing uneven. Fresh tears glittered on her cheeks and Lena felt herself lunge, start to stand. Kara’s pain called out to something in her, something beyond the physical or even the emotional. It was like something in Lena’s soul yearned to stop that terrible pain.
“The worst was when you drowned. Almost.”
Lena looked away, swirled her drink.
“Sounds like you kept trying.”
“I did. The timeline where we never met was one of the worst. I wasn’t there when your chopper crashed. Your mother… you tried to kill me and I couldn’t even fight back.”
“Is this where we segue into the ‘I would never hurt you’ lecture?”
“No. I did hurt you. I deserve your hate. If someone else did to you what I did, I’d snap their neck.”
Lena flinched. There was something cold in that admission, something brutal and beyond even Supergirl. Raw.
None of her rules matter for me.
A tiny voice in that darkness whispered to her: And if some poor bastard locked her in a Kryptonite cage the way you did, they’d be begging you for death. They’d know you’re a Luthor.
Lena shuddered.
“What do you do?”
“I kept trying. I thought… I felt… I had to keep trying.”
“Well, you gave up and came here eventually. You…”
Kara swallowed hard. “It thought it worked, finally. I picked the night I reached you from Corben. Remember that?”
“I remember,” Lena said, hesitant.
Kara Danvers believes in you.
“I told you when you asked me why I saved you. I took you home, made sure you were safe. Life went on. These… these timelines or whatever they were, Lena, they were real. I lived them. That one was, it was…”
“What?”
“A few days later after things calmed down we went to lunch. We were just chatting about something unimportant and you looked at me and our eyes met and it was like…”
Kara looked away from her, wrapping her arms around herself the way she did, not a smug Supergirl pose but a woman shielding her heart from the world that clawed at it.
“When I first arrived on Earth there was a night where my powers had just kicked in and I looked at the sky. I could see more than stars. There was an aurora that was invisible to humans. I could see invisible lines of energy crackling between the stars, the cosmic background radiation shimmering on the dark. Can you imagine that? I can see the remnants of the Big Bang when I stargaze.”
Lena’s had trembled, the dregs of her booze shaking in the bottom of the glass.
“It was like that,” said Kara. “I knew I’d never be the same. I was staring at you like a big goof and you just stopped talking and stared back. I blurted out ‘is this a date?’”
Lena clutched the glass so she wouldn’t drop it and forced the tears back with all her might, but she was weak. Always weak.
“I take it I said yes,” she managed to say, voice quivering.
“We got married three years later. Lori was born a year after that.”
“Kara,” Lena began.
“Then it happened.”
“Kara, shut up.”
“Kalibak killed you. My sister. My little girl. My everything.”
Lena hurled the glass and Kara snatched it from the air in a superhuman blur. Lena was already on her feet, stabbing an accusing finger.
“So what?” Lena demanded. “We’re star-crossed lovers, now? Is this your ploy to fix it? Make me realize how in love we are? It’s a sick joke, Kara.”
“I know I can’t fix it,” said Kara. “I don’t want to.”
Lena blinked, her rage momentarily cooled. “What?”
“I would rather live in a world where you hate me as long as you’re still in it.”
“Kara,” Lena said.
“We are star-crossed. I don’t know want I did to deserve this but I can’t fix it. There was never a right time to tell you. It was doomed from the start. I’m here to tell you to let me go, Lena.”
She blinked. “What?”
“I know about Non Nocere. I know what you’re trying to do. I’m here to ask you to stop. Please. Don’t do this. Don’t ruin you life over me.”
“Why couldn’t you just save me and leave?” Lena demanded. “That’s what everyone else gets. A quick rescue and a wave and a wink and you’re gone. Why did you have to drag yourself through my life and wreck everything?”
“I tried that.”
Lena screamed, bellowed at the top of her lungs.
“So what? So fucking what, Kara?”
Kara just stood there.
“I don’t know. I just… I just had to see… all I want is for you to be safe.”
Lena turned away from her.
“I’m so sorry. I’m so fucking sorry,” Kara choked out, behind her. “I did go back to Krypton one time. I told him I wanted to stay and die with my world, that it was the only way.”
“Let me guess, you did that and…”
“Car accident.”
“Oh for fuck’s sake,” Lena cried. “You have to be kidding me.”
“He made me watch. Not just you, everyone else that died because there was no Supergirl. I… I think I’m in Hell.”
Lena blinked. She turned slowly. A memory came flooding back to her from another time, a closed casket in a small Irish church with Lionel Luthor lurking, waiting for her with an entourage. She’d asked the priest in her precious child voice, am I in Hell, Father?
A sob forced itself out of her. She let herself look at Kara, standing there bedraggled and teary eyed in rumpled Hello Kitty pajamas and felt sick, like she’d swallowed a belly full of rancid oil. All she could see was the hurting, and she wondered if that was it, if this pain was the source of the unbreakable quantum entanglement that had dragged this alien being across a gulf of stars to fuck up her life.
Or save it.
“Kara,” Lena whispered. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry I dragged you into my life.”
“I’m not,” Kara whispered. “It was a gift, every minute of it. I wouldn’t trade a single moment for anything. Even the ones that didn’t happen.”
“What the hell do we do?” said Lena.
“I leave. I keep saving you. You find someone else, live your life, be happy. I do everything I can to keep you in this world and watch you grow old. That’s it. I should go.”
Kara turned and Lena screamed, balling her fists.
“Don’t you fucking dare leave this penthouse, Kara Danvers.”
Kara froze.
“I went back.”
“Went back to what?” said Kara.
“I went back to let you out of the Kryptonite cage. I couldn’t stop thinking of you lying on that cold floor in pain so I had to go back, but you weren’t there. I… I… I don’t know what I’m doing. I want to stop this but I just keep going and I don’t know what to fucking do anymore. I’m so lost.”
Kara’s shoulders slumped.
“I would take it back if I could.”
Kara turned back to her.
“You don’t have to.”
Lena backed away, unable to look at her. Kara crossed the gap in seconds and tenderly rested her hands on Lena’s arms.
“I’m sorry. I mean it. I am truly sorry from the depths of my soul. I would fix this if I could.”
“I’m sorry I hurt you,” said Lena. “It makes my soul hurt, and I don’t believe in souls.”
Lena pulled her in, clinging to her as if she might disappear. Kara was tentative, testing with every movement.
God, they had a daughter. A child! Lena could imagine, almost see… what had she done?
“It’s going to be okay,” Kara said. “I think this is what I was supposed to learn.”
“What?”
“To own my mistakes, and if I don’t want you to be a villain, I shouldn’t treat you like one.”
“I’m so tired.”
“I should go home and let you rest. This is a lot, I know, and it’s late. I…”
Kara trailed off, and Lena looked up at her. Their eyes met, and Lena… knew.
“Will you come back?” said Lena.
“Always.”

You guys want to know one of my favorite things about Edwin? He loves how smart his friends are. He gets so excited and outright a w e d whenever they think of something clever, make a keen observation, or offer a solution to their problems. All I ever want to write is Edwin who eloquently gushes and praises his friends' intelligence and skills. Edwin who, when the occasion arises, gases them up when they get self deprecating, because to him it's not an opinion, it's a FACT that they're smart, and good, and kind, and brave. That they're all equals. I would even go so far as to say he, himself, feels he has to continuously work and study so hard to keep up with them, to continue contributing.
Genuinely I feel like it's a pretty big factor in his hostility towards Crystal in the beginning. When Charles and Edwin first talk with her post-exorcism, she's unimpressed with the work they did to save her, and she insults the name of their agency, which Edwin and Charles are both clearly fond of. Charles, who's used to laughing at digs far more hurtful than that considering his life before death, let's it roll off him easily, but Edwin takes it more personally. From there, he grows jealous because of the attention Charles is giving her, made worse when Crystal proves her powers ARE faster than the methods the boys used before meeting her. Edwin feels like he needs to prove he's better, or at least still useful where Crystal isn't ("We all have talents.") to Charles, because if Crystal can do everything Edwin does, and does it better, then why would Charles keep sticking around? And of course, Crystal returns his hostility beat for beat, as she should. I feel like her subtle attempts to smooth things over and get along with Edwin aren't talked about enough, like she lets him get away with so many snide and openly rude comments before she starts biting back again in episode one. But Edwin holds a grudge and she shouldn't have to take his attitude towards her lying down, not forever, and neither of them are willing to, say, try and ask the other why they're so snippy towards each other, or apologize lol. Honestly their dynamic is so layered and fun to pick apart!!
What really seals it for me is the contrast in his reaction to Crystal compared to Niko. He warms to Niko pretty much immediately, calling her charming and quickly getting down to business on saving her, without even a token protest about helping yet another living girl. And I think that comes down to her attitude towards their assistance, what she brings to the table for the group's dynamic, and her willingness to let them do their thing without rocking the boat on methodology. She doesn't come across as a threat to Edwin's friendship (repressed and unacknowledged crush absolutely not helping either) with Charles, since she and Charles don't interact much, especially not one on one the way he and Crystal do, so she doesn't ruffle Edwin's feathers at all compared to how instantly and repeatedly Crystal gets under his skin.
All this to say I love all four of them, I love that they've all got their strengths and skills, I love that there's also that overlap, that they all get to do detective-ing and that Edwin doesn't get that petty protectiveness over that role. Yes he feels threatened by Crystal, but that has everything to do with Charles and nothing to do with her being competent, in and if itself. He doesn't see himself as a Sherlock Holmes with three Watsons following him around. He likes it when the others are clever, when he's not being a petty bitch (affectionate) who hates change/new things lmao

10 A.M- Ghost x plus size reader
-Summary : Every day on leave Ghost watches his neighbor at 10AM during his smoke break. Will it lead to more ? (yes, especially with Johnny involed.)
-(Sorry in advance, English is not my first language, so sorry if it's bad or OOC. And I've posted it on ao3 months ago, so it's normal if you feel like a déjà vu)
-10 am. The ballet was starting.
-A foot missing a step, a groan of pain, clothes thrown on the ground, and an apple bitten into hastily. Breakfast was beginning, and the curtain rose, giving Simon the perfect view of his neighbor's daily spectacle across the landing.
-Eyes so sunken they rivaled his own, hands with nails cut short—Simon wondered why so short, perhaps their job? A habit? And their body, all curves.
-That's what had caught his attention in the hallway the first time.
-Such a ominous building welcoming such a pure ray of sunshine like them, Simon couldn't help but bask in their warmth from the shadows.
-A glint in a corridor had eventually become a routine. When Simon smoked on his balcony, they would open their curtains, and slowly, without knowing it, their routines became intertwined at certain hours of the day, briefly filling Simon's respites with a bit of humanity.
-"What are ye lookin’ at?"
-"Nothing that concerns you, Johnny."
-"L.T, come on." Johnny, curious, stepped onto the balcony, but they were already gone.
-"I’ve put up with you enough, stop pokin’ your nose in."
-"Ye volunteered when Price asked who could help me with my cast during our leave. Because Gaz was with his fiancée and Price with his sister. That's friendship."
-"Pity," Ghost corrected him.
-"It still means I make ye feel things, L.T."
-"Yes, and it's exasperation."
-"Seriously, what were ye starin’ at? I mean, apart from the poor garden, there's nothin’."
-Simon ignored him. One word and he knew what Johnny would say.
-"Talk to them. You have nothing to lose."
-Worse, the Scotsman might set up a situation where he'd end up stuck in an elevator with them. The explosives expert knew much more about physics and math than he let on.
-"By th’ way, have ye ever had someone in yer life, L.T.?"
-“…”
-"I see, we're playin’ neither yes nor no?"
-"We're playin’ 'no personal questions.'"
-"I'll tak’ that as a yes. Ah wonder whit yer type is? Redhead? Blonde? Brunette? Tall? Short? Or maybe brown, green, blue, gray eyes?"
-"People who don't ask questions."
-"Damn, rejected like that."
-"That's enough, Johnny."
-"Okay, I… would ye introduce me if ye ever had someone in yer life, no?"
-"No."
-"What?! Come on, I'm adorable!"
-"And invasive."
-"I left a sock lyin’ around one time." Soap remembered the incident.
-"In a frying pan."
-"It was an accident."
-Ghost sighed. His gaze shifted to the window; damn, he wished he could catch a glimpse of them for a moment, to gain some strength. As if his prayer had been heard, the window opened, their head appeared, watering their plants.
-"I see, so it wasn't just a cigarette," Johnny said with a smug smile.
-Unfortunately, that also meant they'd just watered trouble for Ghost.
-"Johnny."
-"I'm just saying they’re beautiful, that's all."
-"Not a word."
-"So… the curves?"
-"Johnny," Simon repeated, annoyed.
-"Okay, not a word."
-A silence fell, but Simon couldn't stand Soap's trembling leg.
-"One question." He eventually gave in.
-"How long?"
-"None."
-"What?"
-"We're not dating."
-"So a crush, huh?"
-"We're not in high school anymore."
-"But ye have a crush on yer neighbor like a teenager."
-"Johnny," Simon warned him.
-Soap backed off before grinning smugly.
-"I get it, I'd be the same if they were my neighbor, they seem cute," he added
-"Johnny, damn it," Ghost sighed, his cheeks slightly tinged with red.
-Soap laughed.
-"It's cute. I guess ye won't talk tae them?"
-"No. Not with our profession, not with my personality. they deserve better."
-"Even fur one night?"
-"I don't want a one-night stand, not with them."
-"I see, condemned to yearn, a wee bit sad."
-Simon didn't reply; it was his routine. Observe, analyze, and act. His strategy had been clear from the start: do nothing.
-So he finished his cigarette, hoping it would be 10 am again soon to relive this peaceful anticipation. The sun set, and it all began again.
-5 am, wake up. 6 am, jogging. 7 am, back, ready to take a shower and face Johnny.
-"Oh, sorry."
-But sometimes routines break. Simon watched his neighbor, struggling to move a too-heavy piece of furniture up the stairs.
-"Can I help you?"
-"I… I don't want to bother you, especially since you just came back from exercising—"
-"It's nothing."
-He carried what looked like a wardrobe to their landing.
-"Thanks again. I… I don't know if you knew, but we're neighbors. My name's y/n, I moved in there after Matilda. I know they wasn't… well-liked?"
-"We could say that."
-"No need to downplay it; I know they threw tomatoes at all the doors, ripped up their garbage on all the landings, and dismantled a door by mistake."
-"Hm."
-"I mean, at 80, it's impressive," y/n laughed.
-"For sure," he chuckled.
-"So, you're Smith, right?"
-Oh yes, the fake name on his mailbox.
-"Yeah."
-"Well, thank you, Mr. Smith. Honestly, I don't know how I would've managed without you. I told my roommate that having such a big wardrobe was pointless, but they never listens to me."
-"Roommate?"
-"Yeah, she lives with me. their name's Léa, maybe you've met her? Tall, blonde."
-"Hm."
-"She always wakes up late, and I wake up early, so we kind of live in the dark in the apartment, like real vampires. Perhaps you know her ?"
-"Thank you, Léa," Simon thought. Without her, he'd never catch sight of y/n on their balcony.
-"No, I don't think so."
-"I see. Do you have a roommate too?"
-"At the moment, yes, but it's temporary."
-"Oh, I see, a friend crashing. Happens."
-"Actually, he takes care o’ me," a voice said.
-If Simon could slow down his reaction, he'd be sure to see panic. Johnny, smiling, approached and introduced himself.
-"John, nice tae meet ye. This big guy keeps an ee on me, wi’ ma broken arm."
-"Oh, I see, that's not easy. Nice to meet you."
-"Ye ken, I was plannin’ tae make some muffins; I thought if ye like them, we could maybe give ye some since this guy doesnae like sweet stuff."
-"Johnny."
-"What, you don't like them?" y/n asked, surprised.
-"I… it's not my thing, that's all."
-"I see," y/n smiled. "Why not, okay, well, I mean don't poison us, but okay."
-"I'm no’ sure that would convince anyone no’ tae poison ye," John replied.
-"Maybe, but does it work on you?"
-"Aye," Johnny laughed.
-y/n thanked them and closed their door. Soap, with a victorious smile, looked at Simon.
-"Don't start."
-"We're makin’ progress, L.T, recon mission wit’ introduction."
-"This isn't a mission."
-"Of course, it is. Gaz agrees wi’ me."
-"Gaz knows?!"
-"It's the 21st century, L.T, phones are magical."
-"No."
-"By the way, if they ask for yer number, ye'll have to give them one that's not disposable…"
-"There won't be a number."
-"I bet there will be; they seem nice."
-"They thanked me for a favor; it's just politeness."
-"If ye say so."
-"Nothing's going to happen, Johnny."
-"We'll see."
---------------------
-"I was thinking we should exchange numbers! It's always handy, for dog sitting, plant watering, breakdowns, broken showers, or anything else."
-Soap looked at him triumphantly. Certainly, it wasn't y/n asking, but Léa, after accepting their muffins and inviting them inside. But Soap saw the papers with the two different numbers, indicating that y/n's was included.
-"For sure, but isn't a roommate kind o’ a hassle? I mean, I remember wi’ other folk’s boyfriends an’ girlfriends, it can get awkward," Soap asked.
-"For that, there would have to be some," Simon replied.
-"What dae ye mean?" "Well, I'm not interested, and y/n… they…"
-Léa seemed hesitant.
-"New acquaintances aren't really their thing, with social anxiety, you know."
-Simon raised an eyebrow. they had seemed so calm. He was also accustomed to social avoidance, so y/n's reaction to him surprised him, unless they had grown accustomed to his presence before. But that would mean he was a familiar face to them. Which would imply…
-That at 10 am, he wasn't the only one watching.
-A warm feeling filled his heart.
-"Why are ye smiling?" Soap murmured as they returned to his apartment. "It's bad news if they's as bad as you at talking, you'll be together when Price runs out of beanies to wear."
-"Hm, if you say so."
-"L.T, tell me, I ken ye ken something."
-"Soap, it's none of your business."
-"The code name, really?"
- "Johnny."
- "Simon."
-Neither broke eye contact; Johnny eventually sighed and raised his only free hand in surrender. Ghost nodded.
-He looked forward to the next 10 am.
________________________________
-At 10 am, with a cigarette in his mouth, they were there. their eyes on their hands. He smiled. Target acquired. How could he have missed it?
-Using his hands, he executed a slight sign of recognition. they jumped, surprised he had noticed them; he smirked. they responded with a hand waving back. He signaled for them to open the window.
-"Nice view?" he asked.
-"On such a shabby garden, no," they replied, ignoring his implication.
-"I meant the neighborhood.”
-"Well, not everyone can have a balcony."
-"Or a pretty neighbor."
-"I—"
-"Have a good day, y/n." He went back inside.
-Nothing will happen, my ass, Soap muttered as he watched him.
_______________________________
-Slowly, it became his game. Spotting y/n, signaling to them, and lightly flirting.
-It was nothing. Just a game of cat and mouse, that's all. It wouldn't lead to anything, he kept telling himself. But every day he waited for them.
-Praying that Price wouldn't call him. But apparently this time his thoughts weren't heard; Soap was sent to the base under someone else's watch, and Price called him for a mission. 10 a.m. should wait.
____________________
-"Mr. Smith?"
-Tired. Covered in mud, smelling of powder. Simon was back after three months, his eyes empty, his face covered, only his eyes remained. y/n stood in the hall, in pajamas, letters in hand, probably looking for their mail at... 1 a.m.? Who would do that?
-"y/n.”
-“ Everything alright? You're soaked. You know if you have a dryer problem, we have one."
-"Everything's fine."
-"I see. I... I got worried because I didn't see you around, I wondered if something happened to you."
-His cowardly heart quickened at this concern.
-"It was nothing, just work."
-"I see, you travel a lot then."
-"Yeah, you could say that."
-"Must be tiring, never... feeling at home, right?"
-Simon couldn't get a word in. He had never thought about it, in his childhood home, his sanctuary, he had never thought about it as his home, so as he grew up, he had no attachment to a place.
-"Not really."
-"Not a homebody?"
-"Yeah, but just a bit."
-"I... sorry, I'm asking questions while you're exhausted, I'm really sorry."
-"No need to apologize, such a pretty face coming home erases all fatigue."
-they frowned their eyebrows..
-"Do you mean that or is it for Léa?"
-Simon was surprised by the sharper tone.
-"Léa?"
-"If you want to get closer to Léa, please don't use me. I... honestly, all this flirting is confusing, if it's her, then don't use me."
-"I don't want Léa."
-"Oh." y/n paused, “then why?"
-"I don't know, why do people flirt, y/n?"
-"You."
-"Me."
-"So all this time..."
-"I'm eagerly waiting for 10 a.m., y/n."
-"I-, I'm sorry, I just thought you really liked Léa, I let my insecurities take over without even thinking about that, and I apologize for that."
-"No worries, now everything is clear. Goodnight y/n and see you tomorrow morning."
-"See you tomorrow morning, Mr. Smith."
-"Simon."
-"Hm?"
-"Call me Simon."
-Maybe Soap was right; he knew from the beginning that this wouldn't just be a flirt.
______________________________
-At 10 a.m., Simon noticed a blanket on his balcony. Hand-knitted with a post-it.
-"I'm not there today, but you seemed cold in the morning, so welcome back and have a good day."
-Slowly, he took the soft fabric. Draping it over his shoulders, he closed his eyes, letting the nicotine escape from his mouth.
-He knew he shouldn't. A part of him screamed not to trust, to flee. But he was so tired. He, too, wanted to go home and have that smile.
-Suddenly, the blanket felt too cold, the nicotine too bitter, and the balcony too narrow.
-What was he doing dreaming of a normal life?
-Simon was officially dead, flesh living for a task force. He shouldn't even think of the hope of surviving long. He had given up on that. Slowly, he placed the blanket back on the balcony. The window was closing. He decided that maybe the 10 a.m. breaks weren't a good idea.
___________________________
-"You ken, it's no’ Pokémon, L.T."
-"Johnny," Ghost calibrated his rifle as the car swerved through the bends.
-"What's he talking about?" Gaz, in uniform beside them, ready for the mission, asked.
-"Our dear L.T. fled like a Pokémon facin’ its neighbor."
-"My life is none of your business."
-"Ye're missin’ something extraordinary, obviously. They just told ye it's mutual, an’ there ye are, runnin’ away. Imagine what ye’re sayin’ tae them."
-"It's better for them."
-"Coward."
-Simon looked away. It was better this way. Proof was, he was off again to risk his life for two months. No one wanted a life like this.
-y/n didn't know about Ghost, didn't know about the PTSD, about Tommy, about Joseph. He was just the slightly mysterious neighbor from the balcony.
-"They know nothing, it's better this way."
-"Maybe he's right, Soap. Some people aren't meant to be with soldiers," Gaz tried to reason.
-"He's just using runnin’ away as a defense mechanism, Gaz."
-Simon ignored the rest. The voices were blurring. He had to stay away from y/n; their warmth could burn him if he got too close.
_______________________
-Dead.
-He held the dead girl's body in his arms.
-Riddled with bullets, their poor little hands weakly holding onto Ghost's uniform in a last hope for life.
-The blood on his hands wouldn't go away. He washed, scrubbed, scraped, over and over.
-The blood remained on his hands.
-He had to save them.
-He had failed.
-The mission was a success.
-But everyone was dead.
-The coldness of the body wouldn't go away.
-The shower didn't help; no matter how hard he scrubbed, increasing the heat, nothing could rid him of the horror.
-His breathing wouldn't calm, his vision darkening, his legs trembling.
-He knew what was happening.
-Slowly he sat on the floor, the sound of water deafening, his ears ringing, the hot and cold alternating in his body, sweat increasing. A panic attack.
-"One, two, three." He repeated. Trying to calm himself, he began counting again. One, two, three.
-But the numbers tangled, and the memories seemed so real. The girl's body seemed to be at his feet. He knew it was impossible; he was in a shower, in a terrible apartment, not on the battlefield. But nothing could be done about it.
-"Mr. Smith?"
-Everything shattered. His bubble burst, and suddenly reality hit him. Getting up, staggering, he grabbed a towel and walked to his front door out of habit.
-"Yes?" he managed to say, his hoarse voice scratching his throat.
-"I'm sorry to interrupt, but our shower exploded, and I was wondering if you knew about it or if you could let me borrow yours because I... I'm a bit covered in ink."
-He opened his door completely, and...
-y/n, hands covered in blue ink, even their nose staring at him wide-eyed. Remembering his attire consisting only of a towel, he closed the door.
-"I'll get dressed and be right there."
-"Yes, I- sorry again, I didn't know you were in the shower."
-He didn't reply. Damn it, he had promised not to let their into his life.
-Putting on a hoodie and sweatpants, he opened his door.
-"On the left at the back." He indicated in a slightly dry tone. His thoughts still roughed up after his panic attack.
-Noticing that y/n wasn't moving, he frowned.
-"I wanted to know if I offended you? I don't know if I'm imagining something, but it looks like you're avoiding me?"
-Not as discreet as he thought.
-"I was busy."
-"I see. If I offended you anyway, I apologize."
-"It's not your fault, y/n."
-"Oh."
-"Just... shitty job."
-"PTSD?"
-Simon stopped.
-"The walls are thin, you can hear the girl from the fifth floor sneezing, so you can imagine that your screams at night..." She added.
-"I see."
-"My father had it too, if you ever need help, well not psychological help, that's more for a therapist, but support, I can." y/n said anxiously.
-He blew air out of his nose.
-"Military father?"
-"Cop," they replied.
-Simon noticed the underlying tension.
-"Not on good terms?"
-"Few people get along with their father, right?"
-"Some do."
-"Do you?"
-"No."
-They smiled.
-"To rotten fathers, then.
-“To rotten fathers. Now I suppose you should hurry if you don't want the ink to dry on your hands."*
- "Oh shit, yeah."
-Y/n rushed into the shower. When they returned a few moments later, Simon watched them.
-"Any reason for this ink explosion?"
-"It's ridiculous,”they said, but Simon motioned for them to sit down.
-"Go ahead."
- "I like... tattooing. I don't have the talent, but I like to try tattooing fake skins in my spare time, but my blue ink exploded so I tried to use the shower but it looks like we have a plumbing problem."
-"Tattooing?"
-"Yeah, but it's nothing crazy, just a hobby."
-He nodded.
-"Well, I'll get going." they murmured.
-Ghost wanted to hold their back. His hand reaching out reflexively, he thought better of it.
_______________________________
-"So?"
-"So what? Didn't you listen to Price during the briefing?" Ghost replied to Soap.
-"Ah’m nae talkin’ about that, but the GIL mission."
-"Gil?"
-"Ghost in love."
-"I'm not in love."
-"Hmm, so nae progress wi’ the neighbor?"
-"Soap."
-The Scot stopped. Feeling the blue-eyed gaze not leaving him for a moment, Ghost sighed.
-"We talked again."
-"Ah!"
-“Shower problem, they needed one."
-"Is that it?"
-"We're neighbors."
-"That's disappointin’."
-"Thanks, Johnny." Ghost replied sarcastically.
-Simon spared the details. It wasn't just a shower, but a shower during the two weeks of leave he had had.
-With the plumber unable to find the problem, y/n and Léa had somewhat cohabited with Simon for that brief moment. Maybe... he had shared more teas with y/n than he admitted.
-Even if he wanted to flee, to shut himself off, to reject y/n, he crawled for a crumb of their attention.
_____________
-Returning from his mission, Simon walked through the hall when he heard it. Cries echoing in the corridor.
-His landing.
-Knowing that Madeline, the other neighbor on the landing, couldn't cry due to death, it was either Léa or y/n.
-Approaching, he noticed a silhouette sitting on the doormat. y/n. they seemed to be trying to pick up debris from the floor, their hands bleeding.
-Worried at the sight of the red liquid, he walked towards them without thinking, examining their wounds. Pieces of metal and glass were in their hand.
-"Simon," they managed to articulate between sobs.
-"What happened?"
-"It's stupid, honestly, I'm ridiculous crying over this, but... a box fell and broke my tattoo machine. I know I could buy a new one, but that... it broke me?"
-Ghost was relieved it wasn't anything serious. He nodded.
-"It's not a big deal, it's your passion."
-"I know, but an artist doesn't cry when they run out of lead with their pencil."
-"Well, then they should invest in tons of tissues," Simon joked.
-They laughed through the tears.
-"It's just... everything, I guess. I'm tired, I have a shitty job, I thought I'd finally make it with my fake skins, and now my machine breaks like a sign."
-"Not a sign," Simon said. "Don't give up. Now let me look at this; we'd want to avoid infection and stitches."
-They nodded and followed Simon into his apartment. Ghost's expert hands treating theirs.
-"The tattoo," Simon began. "It's not just a passion, is it?"
-"I... it was my dream for a while."
-"'Was'?"
-"My parents wanted something safe, I didn't know anatomy, people drew better than me. At 13, I was the artist of the class, the little prodigy, at 18 I was just an artist like everyone else. I had nothing... extraordinary, so I gave up."
-Simon nodded.
-"I don't think so," he finally added, finishing their bandage.
-"What?"
-"That you gave up. You may think so, but practicing so hard, continuing to do it every day, it seems like you've always held on."
-"I... never saw it like that."
-"Plus, who wouldn't dream of being tattooed by an angel?"
-"Simon!"
-He smiled.
-"I missed... our exchanges," they whispered.
-He stopped.
-"Me too."
-"Okay, so are we starting fresh? No more running away?"
-"I can't promise that."
-"Oh."
-"I was talking about constant exchange, I've been... an asshole thinking I was doing the right thing, but it seems obvious that no matter my efforts, our paths intersect."
-"So you'll stop running?" y/n asked, their eyes meeting his.
-"For now," Simon finally said.
-"I see, cool," y/n said.
-"Cool," he repeated, squeezing their hand.
-They got up and left. Simon let his eyes wander over their curves.
-Fuck.
_____________
- "Not a word, Johnny," Ghost said, putting his things down.
-"I didnae say anythin’!" the Scotsman complained, entering the briefing room.
-"I know what you were going to ask, and no."
-"So it's progressin’."
-"Johnny."
-"Okay. Just... ye're allowed tae be happy, L.T."
-"Hm."
-Simon avoided his gaze, his attention on Price. The captain questioned Simon with his eyes, Simon indicated with the same look that he would explain later.
________________
-“Ten o'clock breaks are nicer on a balcony."
-"Really? I thought you preferred waking up in the dark and stumbling around looking for your window," Ghost joked.
-y/n laughed. "Mean. It's cool to see the other side," they said, blowing on the tea Ghost had made.
-Sitting across from him, Simon could get used to it. A morning shared together, a breakfast enjoyed. The sun bathing their face, their hair tousled from waking up...
-"Hm, better than spying?"
-"You're the one who was stalking me."
-"You were doing the same."
-"But I wasn't looking at the other with a murderous look, I thought you hated me at first."
-"Really?"
-"Yes. I mean, I'm not the sexiest view in the world, so I thought you hated seeing me when you smoked. I even tried to shift my hours so you wouldn't see me."
-He laughed. "You're the sexiest view there is, y/n."
-"Wrong, there's Megan thee Stallion."
-"Hm, second view then."
-His phone beeped. Simon sighed.
-"Is it work?"
-"Yes."
-"You're leaving?"
-"In two days."
-"I guess you can't tell me where."
-"No."
-"Or how long."
-"Hm."
-"So, two months."
-"What?"
-"Well, if you can't say anything, I can imagine it, right? Like your mask, I never knew why, so I imagined you had vampire teeth."
-"Vampire teeth?" Simon mocked.
-"You never went out except at night, you came back late, your blinds were always closed, and your pale skin, what else could I think?"
-"Ill?"
-"..."
-"Hypochondriac? Scars?"
-"Okay, my theory was dumb, no need to twist the knife, Simon."
-He snorted.
-"You're beautiful without it," y/n finally added.
-"I know."
-"Fuck you, Simon, I'm trying to flirt."
-"Hm, 'trying' is the right word."
-"Simon."
-"Fine, 'thank you, y/n', is that better?"
-"Yes."
-Simon winked at them, y/n rolled their eyes.
-"By the way, I have a package arriving on Friday," Simon said.
-"And?"
-"It's for you."
-"A gift? But I didn't do anything."
-"That's the point of a gift, y/n. Plus, I know your birthday is coming soon."
-"Léa?"
-"Your ID."
-"How did you get it?"
-"I needed to check who you were," Simon lied.
-"...Léa," he eventually admitted.
-"I thought so."
-"Happy early birthday."
-"Thank you, Simon."
-And there, Simon wanted to engrave this image of their smile.
__________________
-Alone, lost in the forest, waiting for the target, Simon wondered what y/n was doing. Was they sleeping? Had they opened their gift? Did they like it?
-His thoughts stopped, focused on the mission, with a new desire. The desire to go home.
-To go home. To y/n.
_________________
-"Simon!"
-Tired, jet lag leaving his body heavy, but his eyes squinted at the sight of them.
-"y/n."
-"I..."
-They seemed hesitant to hug him, not quite sure what to do. Simon wanted it.
-"Oh damn, hugging y/n, melting into their warmth, leaving his hands on their curves, their thighs so soft, their hair."
-"Hug okay?" they asked.
-"More than okay."
-"Sure? I know it's not your thing, so it's not obligatory."
-"y/n, I'm sure."
-they nodded and hugged him. their scent filling his nostrils, Simon let go of his bag, letting his arms wrap around them. An embrace comforting him, finally stopping this fatigue. Ghost could leave to let Simon come home.
-"Welcome back," y/n murmured into the embrace.
-"I'm back," he whispered back.
-"I missed you. I... thank you for your gift. I... you're crazy to have spent so much, a machine of this quality..."
-"I intend to let my second sleeve be done by you."
-y/n backed away, surprised.
-"Simon, you don't even know my tattoo style."
-"And?"
-"Imagine if I'm into kawaii? Or a cute colorful Hello Kitty watercolor?"
-"Then I'll have a magnificent Hello Kitty," Simon replied.
-they laughed.
-"That would suit you well."
-"Without a doubt."
-"I might do that when I get my certification."
-"Wait, certification?"
-"I passed the hygiene certification. It's time I stop putting myself down. If I'm a failed artist, well, at least I'll be an artist."
-Simon smiled.
-"I'll be your first fan."
-"Léa is already there."
-"I already have to fight for you, damn."
-"I'm popular, you'll have to get used to it."
-He smiled.
-"Well, I'll let you go home. Good night, I suppose." y/n smiled and went home.
-He nodded and went into his apartment. However, he stopped.
-"y/n?"
-"Hm?"
-The words didn't come. Ask them to stay for what? Tea? Talk? He felt so pathetic.
-But y/n seemed to read him and took his hand, leading him into his apartment. Guiding him to his bed, they lay down beside him. Their bodies still clothed under the sheets drew closer.
-"I didn't imagine the first time in your bed like this."
-"Really?"
-"Hm, yes. I imagined a bit more warmth."
-"The heating is there."
-"Oh, shut up, Simon, you know that's not what I meant," y/n said, laughing.
-He nodded. His hands finding their place on y/n's body, embracing them.
-"My thighs aren't stress balls, Simon."
-"No, they're perfection incarnate. So soft, trembling, they're perfect."
-"It's fat."
-"Exactly."
-y/n chuckled and relaxed into his arms.
-"Does this mean something, us?" they murmured.
-"Yes."
-Not another question, and Simon fell into a deep sleep.
-Waking up, y/n in his arms, Simon decided he didn't want to wake up without their anymore. Enjoying the brief moments of peace, he let his thumbs trace circles on their back.
-"Hey," they murmured.
-"Hey."
-"Did you sleep well?"
-"Yes."
-"Simon, you have to let me go if we're going to get up."
-"Why get up?"
-"To eat?"
-His stomach answered for him. Simon sighed and got up.
______________________________
-"L.T., how dare ye?"
-"Soap."
-"Why?!"
-"Why what?" Simon asked, irritated, looking up from his reports.
-"Ye slept wi’ them!"
-"How do you know that?"
-"Ye smell good."
-Simon frowned.
-"So, I don't smell good usually?"
-"Na, ye smell like aftershave, but now it's soft."
-"Yes, I slept with them. Need details?"
-"AYE!"
-"Well, you won't get any. It was platonic, nothing sexual."
-"...so a nap."
-"Yes, McTavish, a nap."
-"...damn it, L.T., that's disappointin’."
-"I don't care."
-"Invite me tae the weddin’ in a century then."
-"You won't be invited."
-"You love me too much for that, L.T.!"
-"In your dreams, McTavish."
______________________
-"So, a lovebird in your life?"
-"Not you too, Cap."
-"I'm just curious, Simon. I know how closed off you are."
-"They're the one, sir."
-"Nice?"
-"They understand PTSD and all that shit."
-"Hm, so one to keep."
-"To marry."
-"Good luck, Simon."
-"Thanks, Cap."
----
-"Simon?"
-Blood. y/n, dead. Simon standing over their body.
-Gasping, he stood at his door, needing to know, to touch them, to prove they were alive.
-He hugged their, checking their pulse. It wasn't an illusion; they were there.
-"Simon, five things you see," y/n murmured, understanding he was there without being there.
-"You, my hands, your doormat, your coat, and your slippers," Simon eventually articulated.
-"Four things you touch."
-"y/n."
-"Simon, focus."
-"Your hair, your neck, your hips, your shoulders, your cheek."
-"Three things you hear."
-"Your pulse, my pulse, your voice."
-"Two things you smell."
-"My sweat, your perfume."
-"One thing you taste."
-"My blood."
-y/n nodded, and Simon opened his mouth, his teeth so tight he had bitten his tongue. His breath, still shaky, was calming.
-"I'm there," y/n murmured, not moving from his embrace.
-"Do you want to talk about it?" they asked.
-"No."
-"Let's sit on my couch, better than standing at the entrance of the apartment, okay?"
-Simon didn't let go of them for a moment.
-Hours passed, nothing could calm his paranoia.
-"You haven't shaved," y/n murmured.
-Simon couldn't articulate, he just nodded.
-"Can I do it for you? I know under your mask, it must feel better when you're clean-shaven."
-He nodded again. Slowly they guided him into their tiny bathroom, shaving him precisely, calmly, in a soothing silence. His eyes never leaving their face, Simon wanted to scream, cry, shake them, show them he was broken, reject them, make them run away but...
--they were there. Not forcing him to talk, letting him slowly come back down, anchoring him to reality.
-"You know, sunscreen and moisturizer would help your skin a lot," they murmured as they applied the lotions to his face slowly.
-"Especially with your chalky complexion," they added, chuckling.
-That sound, so soft, calmed his heart.
-"Okay," he managed to say.
-"I'll buy you some."
-"...Thank you."
-"Thank you for everything, for the crisis, for the beard, for the lotions, for not asking questions, for welcoming me into your life."
-"You're welcome," they replied, understanding the implication.
__________________________
-"I got rejected," y/n murmured.
-It was 10 a.m., they were on their balcony, the rain falling, they were sheltered.
-"None?"
-"No tattoo parlor accepted me for apprenticeship. Maybe I'm not good enough."
-"Or they're just blind."
-"Simon."
-"You'll make it, y/n," Simon murmured, taking their hand.
-"Maybe, but I... don't feel legitimate to continue."
-"Van Gogh was considered worthless all his life."
-"I hope to have recognition before death, Si'," y/n said, laughing.
-"And there it is, the smile suits you better."
-"Thank you, Si'."
-"Always there."
-they nodded.
___________________________
-"Si'."
-Late at night, in front of a cheap show, they were on their couch.
-"Hm?"
-"Are you... attracted to me?"
-"y/n."
-"I don't want big words, it's just... I don't want to be with someone who loves my personality and accepts my body out of pity. Not feeling desired, I know what that's like, feeling like a second option too, and I've never... addressed the subject with you. Being with a fat person is something different, the looks of others... it's something. And I don't want to be a secret or a shame."
-Simon observed them.
-"So I've been shitty."
-"What?"
-"Because every step, every breath, every part of you ignites a burning desire in me, y/n. I've been shitty at showing it if you think for a moment that every inch of you, every roll, every stretch mark isn't something I love about you."
-their breath caught for a moment.
-"I want to touch you, taste you, let your plump thighs around my head as I kiss you, I want to feel that belly with every bounce when we make love, I want to kiss this body."
-"I- I just wanted a yes, Simon," y/n replied, their voice rising in pitch, their gaze shifting away from the sudden warmth in the room.
-"Well, you have it," Simon added, a predatory look in his eyes.
-"Yes."
-The silence stretched.
-"Aren't you going to do anything, y/n?"
-y/n leaned in.
-"Yes."
-they kissed him.
_____________________
-"L.T., thanks again for coming."
-"No one wanted to miss this, McTavish," Price added.
-"A Scottish Hello Kitty tattoo, that's not to be missed, that's for sure," Gaz said as he entered the small salon.
-The place was peaceful, comfortable. A young woman greeted them and guided them to the artist's station.
-The men settled. Soap in the chair, the others on the chairs to support him.
-"Hello everyone."
-Price and Gaz greeted the tattoo artist, but Soap spoke up.
-"YOU BASTARD! YE DIDN'T TELL ME!"
-"Soap, what's-" Price began.
-"I don't need help, Johnny, I told you."
-"Ye didnae tell me, it's horrible, I was waitin’ and ye two, ye... how long?" he asked y/n.
-"Six months."
-"SIX MONTHS?!"
-"Wait, you're..."
-"y/n, meet Gaz Kyle Garrick and John Price. This is y/n, my lover."
-"Pleased to meet you," Price said, shaking their hand. "I'm surprised this big guy managed to find someone as lovely as you."
-"Thank you."
-"Six months," Soap repeated.
-"I wanted to tell you, but we wanted to take our time and with all my paperwork to find an apprenticeship and a place, I didn't realize how time passed," y/n admitted.
-"Wait, ye’re an apprentice?" Soap asked, terrified.
-"Yes, but don't worry, I'm not doing your tattoo today. I'm just preparing the equipment," y/n joked.
-"Oh, nae that I dinnae trust ye but-"
-"Don't worry."
-At 10 a.m., lost in a tattoo parlor watching Johnny get a Scottish Hello Kitty, y/n by his side, and Gaz and Price smiling.
-Ghost had finally found a new meaning to home, and he wouldn't leave it for anything in the world.

Hii!! I hope you're having a good day! I saw your request were open so I hope you still write for the hp boy
I wanted to ask for a one shot with Theodore Nott (or Mattheo riddle whichever you prefer) where they're enemies or rivals but they can't help but notice the reader is eating less (and developing an ed) for the reason you prefer and they help her
If you're not comfortable writing about it it's totally ok and you can use another reason for them to get closer
Or if you're not inspired you can just ignore the request:)
take care <3
newfound connection | m.r.
my masterlist
Mattheo had always kept his distance from people, ever since he was a young boy.
He didn't fuck with anybody over anything, didn't allow people to get close to him, kept his distance and protected himself. He didn't see the point of having many friends or having a girlfriend or anything even remotely close to that.
Besides, who would want to deal with Voldemort's son? Nobody.
Growing up with his father messed him up in more ways than he could count or admit. He was taught how to be cunning, how to hurt people, how to use them, everything that Voldemort had learned over the years had been passed down to his son.
But Matteo, despite the extensive time spent with his father, knew better than that. He might have grown up in a toxic environment, but he would never lash out on innocent people because of it. It wasn't fair.
During his school years, he had never noticed someone of the opposite sex. He had never felt anything for any girl that he had met at Hogwarts. He never had a crush, never hated anyone, he just felt... nothing.
Until you.
There was an undeniable tension between the two of you ever since you came to the school, one that neither of you could explain.
The only words you had spoken to each other were insults thrown in the halls, not ever having given each other a chance to actually exchange some words.
But that didn’t mean that Mattheo didn’t notice you. You didn’t know it, but he did.
He noticed the little things about you, the way you fidgeted with your fingers whenever you were around a large group of people. The way you chewed your bottom lip whenever you were nervous to talk to someone. The way you would avoid eye contact.
The way you weren’t eating.
He hadn’t thought much of it when he would see you with an empty plate in front of you, staring off into space and not even touching your meals. He figured it was just a one time thing.
But then, you wouldn’t even show up at breakfast or dinner. He wouldn’t even see you anywhere near food for days, then for weeks.
You were weak, pale, hidden behind your hair and large robe. You were a ghost of the person you had been when you first came to the school.
He didn’t know what to do at first. Should he approach you and say something? Maybe help you in some way?
Ignore you and your eating problem?
No, he couldn’t do that. The thought of letting you starve yourself was gnawing too harshly to his mind to let it go as simply as that. He had to say something.
And when he entered the grounds and saw you reading a book near the lake, he figured that was the best opportunity he was going to get.
He slowly approached you, wanting to scoff when he saw you look up at him and roll your eyes.
Typical of your relationship.
“If you’re here to make fun of me or something, I’m really not in the mood, Riddle” you said, burying your nose back in your book.
He was silent for a moment, taking in your appearance. You looked even worse from up close, the bags under your eyes even more prominent, your cheekbones prominently protruding through the skin.
You were so pale, so weak and slim and he couldn’t believe that he hadn’t thought to say something sooner.
“You need help” was all he said, which you took like a punch to the gut.
Your eyes stopped skimming over the words of your book, freezing up. It seemed like your ears had betrayed you, or did Mattheo Riddle just sound worried about you?
"Excuse me?" you put your book down and slowly got up, having to steady yourself after you became a little lightheaded.
The lack of food in your system was becoming more and more prominent on you, the loss of balance whenever you stood up and the lack of strength interfering with your daily tasks more than you would like to admit to yourself.
"You need to get some help" he repeated, his expression remaining the same. You actually couldn't believe the nerve he had, telling you this with so much lack of care.
"I don't think you're in a position to tell me what I do or don't need, Mattheo" you said and crossed your arms.
"Look, I know we hate each other for whatever reason. I don't care about any of that right now. You haven't been eating, you're pale and weak and barely hanging on to health by a thread. Just because we snap at each other in the halls doesn't mean I don't notice the little things you think you hide so well" he explained, mirroring your stance.
You sucked in a deep breath, feeling tears starting to build up in the corner of your eyes. If you were to be honest with yourself, you had forgotten why you and Mattheo hated each other in the first place. The moment you two had met and immediately clashed already wiped from your memory.
Because now, as he stood there in front of you saying he had noticed you, noticed you when nobody else bothered, made you feel seen.
You bit your lip, your gaze stuck to your shoes and the ground. You didn't know what came over you, but you needed to talk to someone, and in that moment, you didn't care if it was your archnemesis or someone else.
"I can't help it" you whispered so quietly, but Mattheo had heard you loud and clear.
His heart broke when he heard how quiet and small you seemed, how much you were actually suffering beneath the surface.
He stepped closer to you, putting his hands on your shoulders and almost grimacing when he felt the bones so prominent under his touch.
"Talk to me, let me help you" the moment you looked into his eyes, you were gone for.
The tears started pouring out of your eyes at a rapid pace, and you collapsed into Mattheo's hold, wrapping your arms around his waist.
Mattheo held you tightly against his body, careful not to squeeze you too tightly. This hadn't been the outcome he expected when he came over to you, but in that moment with you wrapped up in his arms, he knew it was the right one.
You didn't know how long you stood there with your face buried in the fabric of his shirt, his hands rubbing smoothing motions on your back. Mattheo didn't complain once, holding you so comfortably as thought he had been doing it all his life.
At one point, you finally slowly pulled away from his hold, cringing when you saw the wet patch you had left on his shirt.
"I'm sorry for that" you said while sniffling, pointing to his chest.
He looked down and didn't sketch a reaction, shrugging his shoulders and waving it off.
"It's nothing, don't worry about it. Are you okay? Do you want to talk about it?" he cupped your cheek in his hand, wiping away a stray tear with the pad of his thumb.
You thought about it, deciding against it when you remembered you were outside where people could see you easily.
"Maybe later?" you whispered, and he nodded, giving you a sad smile before pecking your forehead.
He took your hand in his, intertwining your fingers as he slowly pulled you towards the castle with him, holding your book in his other hand.
And so, from the hatred that nestled between you two from the moment you met, a new feeling was born.
A feeling of love.

true blue. (one)
pairing: modern!ellie williams x reader
summary: ellie has a new philosophy: don't fall in love and you won't get your heart broken. ellie also has a really cute new friend. ellie admires some birds in this chapter idk if thats significant
warnings: 18+ (as a general rule for this series and my blog as a whole) suggestive themes, eventual smut, drug/alcohol usage, cursing, descriptions of abusive behavior (neither ellie or reader engages in these behaviors)
a/n: i am hoping to make this a series if enough people like it and want me too... i really appreciate support and feedback through asks and replies/reblogs, it all means so much to me. also i have this whole thing planned out and i plan for it to be very messy hehe... i love drama idk
This year was going to be different.
At least that’s what Ellie told herself as she gripped the straps of her worn out backpack. All of the classes her and Cat had planned to take together this semester she had quickly transferred out of by the end of the summer, causing her to rack up an impressive list of classes on her schedule nobody wanted to take.
“Fuck,” Ellie cursed under her breath as she rushed towards the building her literature seminar was in. “I’m going to be so late.” She was practically cursing herself for waking up so late that morning, her bed seeming much more welcoming than the professor who had 1 star on ‘rate my professors.’ She knew she had fucked up, but at this moment she didn’t really care.
As she made her way down the chestnut lined hallway, she frantically checked the door numbers on each door, cursing each time the door number didn’t align with the one she was supposed to be in. When she did find her classroom at the end of the hallway, she had to steady herself with a few deep breaths before entering. Throughout all of this, however, one thought rang clear through her mind: Fuck Cat.
Ellie never really liked to refer to herself as heartbroken, but that was the nicest way she could put the state that Cat had left her in. Ellie always knew she liked girls and while she had many crushes, and a few kisses, Cat was her first real girlfriend. She was the first person to hold Ellie’s hand in public, post lame birthday posts on Instagram, and the first person to give her an orgasm. But if she was being really honest with herself, her first orgasm belonged to her own hand.
Cat had served as a turning point in Ellie’s life and up until this point she was almost certain that she had been in love with her. Almost. There was always this sinking feeling that whatever feelings she had for the girl was most likely orchestrated by pure hormones. She couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was that made her feel that way, but there always seemed to be something missing from their relationship.
Little to Ellie’s knowledge, however, was that was just who Cat was. She made you feel like you were on top of the world, the only person in the universe who could cure her ills, and the only person who got her. She made you feel special, and at the time, that was exactly what Ellie was craving. She needed a person who looked at her like she aligned the stars, and that person was Cat.
Until it wasn’t. Quickly towards the end of the summer Cat got bored and all of the love notes Ellie had written her were quickly discarded within an hour of reading them. She continued to pull away until there was no trace of her left in Ellie’s life. To make matters worse, she broke up with Ellie over text, leaving her dazed and confused. There was nothing left for her to do except to run to Dina’s house and cry in her lap. She hated how pathetic she looked as Dina stroked her hair and shooed Jeese off with the flick of her hand. It was safe to say Ellie was completely over relationships.
Fuck Cat, she thought again, but decided that it being a thought wasn’t enough.
E: Fuck Cat.
D: yea fuck that bitch
Deciding that the text had done enough to calm her nerves, she pushed through the threshold into the classroom. She must’ve not realized how intimate of a class this was when she signed up for it because as she entered all ten of the people in the room now locked eyes with her, and the old man sitting at the front of the table threw her a disappointed look.
“Ellie Williams, I presume?” he questioned, looking at his roster in front of him.
“You do presume.” She awkwardly answered, only receiving a chuckle from a girl sitting at the far end of the table. Ellie looked up to see who it was that laughed at her poorly timed joke but just saw you trying to hide the smile on your face by pretending to write notes.
“You can sit at any open seat, I was just discussing the syllabus.” He told her, his tone sharp.
“Okay, thanks.” Ellie mumbled under her breath, moving to sit at the open seat next to you considering you seemed like you might be the friendliest person in this room. She quickly moved to get her notebook out but internally cursed herself out for the fifth time that day because she completely forgot her pencil case in her dorm. She decided to save herself the embarrassment of asking if anyone had a pen, so she just continued to ruffle through her bag even though she knew it wasn’t there.
“You looking for something?” you leaned over to whisper to her, still causing her to jump back slightly.
“Yea, a pen?” She whispered back, laughing under her breath to pretend like she wasn’t completely embarrassed right now.
“Here.” A black pen balanced in between your fingers as you offered it to her. She sheepishly thanked you before taking it, making sure your fingers didn’t touch.
“There will be one main assignment in this class as you can see on the syllabus.” Ellie, obviously not in her element, looked around at all the packets each person was holding. As if you could sense the nerves on her, you shoved your packet in between the both of you, pointing to the assignment the professor was discussing.
“It is a partner based project and since there are only ten of you I hope this won’t be an issue.” He continued on. “And as you can see it is worth 60% of your grade.” Fuck this, Ellie thought to herself yet again, and fuck Cat too, she added for good measure.
The rest of the 90 minute class went as well as you could imagine, Ellie only having to stop herself from falling asleep three times. When the class was over and she began to collect her things Ellie looked over to where you were stuffing your laptop into your backpack.
“Hey,” she managed to get out, her fingers fidgeting with her rings. “Would you want to be partners for the project?”
You let out a breath of relief smiling both to her and yourself. “I would love that actually.”
“Ok, good.” Ellie chuckled to herself about how nervous she was over something so small “I thought you might’ve thought I was like super unprepared or something since I was late and the pen.” Her eyes widened the pen. “Oh shit, your pen.” Ellie moved to take her backpack off and give back your pen but you abruptly stopped her by placing your hand on her forearm. Your hand right over the very spot Cat had tattooed.
“Keep it,” you offered her a genuine smile before handing your phone over to her “and put your number in here.”
Ellie may not have noticed it but she blushed. A part of her knew you were just being kind and you needed her number to work on the project but if this was any other setting this would be considered flirting. Ellie nervously took your phone in her hand and inserted her number and name with a little planet emoji next to it. When she handed the phone back to you she scanned your face for a reaction, smiling to herself when she saw your very own smile.
“Ellie,” you looked back up at her “nice name.” All Ellie could do was let the tips of her ears turn red as she thanked you. When you offered her your own name and she repeated it back to you, she liked the way it felt on her tongue. She wondered what you wou- No, she wasn’t doing this again.
“I’ll text you tonight about getting started.” You informed her, now slinging your own bag over your shoulder.
“Looking forward to it.” She stated simply, her own feet planted to the floor.
“I presume you are.” You replied with a giggle before turning around and leaving Ellie feeling fuzzy.
Fuck.
The rest of Ellie’s day was uneventful to say the least. She saw a few birds eating a sandwich and thought it was cute, but besides that (and you), her day was boring. She was hoping that this year would be different, that she would be miles ahead of where she was when she met Cat, but she knew she was just worse. She wanted anything, a rebound, a distraction to pull her mind off Cat but all she could do was stare at her ceiling and try not to cry. Or that’s what she was doing until her phone buzzed from it’s place on her stomach.
Y: hey, it’s me
E: Who's me?
Y: pen dealer, duh
E: I thought dealers were supposed to be more discreet.
Y: you know a lot about dealers?
E: I’ve seen a few movies.
Y: nothing is like the movies, be fr
Y: anyways, do you want to meet up to discuss the project tomorrow? we could meet at beans?
E: Yeah, sure. 10?
Y: sounds good, bring cash
E: For? I use apple pay.
Y: for the pens… it was a joke nvm
E: Dumb joke.
The next morning Ellie had to drag herself out of bed so she wouldn’t be late to meet you. She groaned as she watched her roommate sleeping peacefully in her bed while she so desperately wished it could be her. For some reason that she couldn’t place, Ellie found herself smoothing down her hair and checking her teeth in the mirror. She even sprayed some perfume before she left, coughing as she accidentally inhaled some of the liquid. Why was she doing this again?
She saw you through the window of the coffee shop, leaned over your computer screen lost in thought. You tucked your pen between your lips and Ellie couldn’t help but feel like a freak staring at you from the other side. You looked so at peace with your hair tied up and your eyes carefully scanning the screen. Ellie wondered what it would feel like to not have a million things going through your mind at once.
When she approached you she made a mental note of how your eyes lit up when you saw her. You had known her for a second and you had already looked at her with more adoration that Cat did towards the end of their relationship.
“Hey, customer.” You joked, as you watched Ellie sit down across from you.
“You don’t know how to let a joke die, do you?” She questioned jokingly, a warm feeling in both her face and her chest.
“I do not.” You said matter of factly.
The two of you discussed the project, throwing in occasional conversation and jokes when the material got too daunting. After about an hour had passed and the two of you were already feeling burnt out, Ellie suggested you take a walk around campus to “get some fresh air” and “clear your heads.” In reality, she was already growing tired of this project and just wanted to hear your voice ramble on about something other than American Literature.
It was a cool day, and the slight breeze caused both you and Ellie to squint the entire time. There was something so calm about the energy between the two of you. It wasn’t passionate or overwhelming like it was with Cat, but comforting. It was lulling Ellie into a sense of security, but she knew it couldn’t last long.
“Where are you from?” Ellie spoke up. “Did you grow up around here?”
“Close-ish, I guess.” You answered. “I’m from a town north called Star Valley.”
“Oh shit, you’re right by Jackson.” Ellie exclaimed.
“Yea, you’re from Jackson?” The idea that you too lived this close and this was your first time meeting almost seemed criminal to Ellie.
“Yeah, me and my friends grew up there. I’m originally from Boston, though, I moved there with my..” You gave her time to speak, it being painfully obvious she was going to have trouble explaining the situation. “Like my dad? He’s not really my dad, he’s just Joel.” She decided to dumb down her complicated relationship with him for the sake of time. You, however, did not try to get any information out of her, or immediately try to get her to be vulnerable with her like Cat did at the beginning of the relationship. You just smiled at her and continued on with the conversation.
Ellie liked this. She liked being able to have a conversation with a pretty girl that didn’t make her feel like she was tearing herself open just to bond with you. You two were just bonding in the simplest way people could. The sick and sinister part of her, however, was telling her to leave immediately. To avoid the trouble that another heartbreak would bring her.
That part of her was starting to win over slowly as she remembered the promise she made to herself. She quickly excused herself and told you she would text you about meeting up again to work on the project. Her brain was telling her run, run, run, but she could tell you were still standing there staring as she walked away towards the direction of her building.
Later that night, after a cool shower and a few hits of her pen, Ellie found herself ranting to Dina over text again.
E: I’m so fucked.
D: what???
E: I’m working with this really hot girl on a project for one of my classes and today we were walking together and it all seemed normal, like toooo normal, so I left. Like I no joke was like “Bye” mid conversation and LEFT HER THERE. What is wrong with me?
D: what happened to ‘i’m never talking to another girl again’?
E: I’m not.
D: …
E: I’M NOT.
E: IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER SHE PROBABLY THINKS I’M A FREAK FOR RUNNING AWAY TODAY
D: true
E: ?????
D: idk why you would do that so i’m not going to lie to you
D: i would think you are a freak
E: Ok, fuck you.
D: what does she look like?
E: Hot.
D: oh yes thank you for painting such a vivid picture
D: SEND A PICTURE YOU FREAK
E: You are so mean to me.
Ellie felt the need for validation so she did what any normal person would in that situation: she went to instagram and typed in your full name. To her surprise, there you were, smiling as bright as the sun in your profile picture. Ellie suddenly felt like a kid again scanning through your photos, blushing and smiling to herself as she looked at you, losing focus of her original motive. She didn’t realize how far she had scrolled down until she was stopped by the sight of a familiar face. In a post dated over a year ago it was you kissing another girl.
And that girl was Cat.

To those who've been burnt - Shinsou x Reader
Request by @bookishgalaxies - I wrote by vibes only, so I hope you'll like it
“What do boys like?” You ask, staring at the foam on top of your hot chocolate.
Lately, your Instagram feed has been full of cute latte art pics, of hearts and cats and love confession drawn into the milky froth. But this is real life and your hot chocolate doesn’t even get a dusting of chocolate powder.
“Huh?” Hitoshi asks, almost drowning in his drink. You don’t have to ask to know what he got, bribed the barista to make it despite all common sense. He always gets too many extra shots of espresso.
“Girls like to get flowers. Or cute little trinkets. What do boys like? You know, as random presents?”
“Boys like flowers too,” He says and pushes his plate toward you. “Can you peel my orange?”
“Sure.” You dig your nails into it, feel warmth rising up your spine as you notice how he’s watching you, the movement of your fingers, doesn’t miss the little gasp you take when you manage to squirt orange juice into your face.
When you drop the first slice into his waiting palm you know you’re already a little more than just friends.
-
“Hey,” Hitoshi knocks against the frame of your door, leans against it as if it’s the only thing keeping him up at the late hour of nine in the morning. “Did you put those flowers on my desk?”
“What?” You look up from this week's report, your cheeks no doubt creased from how heavy your head has rested on your hands. “Oh, yeah, that was me.”
There’s the softest hint of a blush on his cheeks as he opens his mouth again.
“Why, though?”
“They reminded me of you.”
-
“Come on,” Hitoshi pulls you a little closer, “Don’t fall asleep.”
“ButI’msotired,” you mumble groggily. If only coffee tasted better and Energy Drinks didn’t come carbonated. You’d take the world by storm.
“Here.” His hands are warm against your ears. Seconds later the sounds of late-night travel are muffled, from the chewing of the person to your left to the chatter of the school girls opposite to you. You raise your hands to find that he’s put his headphones over your ears.
Before you can ask about it, Hitoshi presses play on his phone.
You recognize the song immediately, the upbeat tempo making you move your shoulders on instinct until you’re bobbing up and down in your seat, dancing along without ever getting up.
Hitoshi’s grinning into his scarf by the time the song’s ending and you knock your head into his.
“You did that on purpose!” You hiss, probably louder than you’ve wanted to. He just shrugs and presses play on the next one.
-
“Are you free this weekend?”
You look up from the water cooler, fully expecting to witness the newest scoop of office gossip. Instead, you’re now directly facing Hiro, the agency's newest Sidekick.
And he’s looking at you like he’s waiting for an answer.
“I’m busy,” you say, but you’ve never been good at lying. Your quirk makes it even worse.
“Is it because I’m a colleague?” Hiro’s leaning on the water cooler now, showing off the impressive biceps you’ve heard the other accountants swoon about.
No, you want to say. It’s because I have a crush on the guy who’s more than your best friend but never outright made clear if you were dating. And you went along with it, knowing it would happen eventually. But can you say that you have a boyfriend or would that be too forward?
“Hello?” Hiro taps your temple with his pointer finger. “Are you still in there?”
“Uh, yeah. I- I’m not interested.” There. The truth, plain and simple.
“Oh, okay.” Hiro pushes himself away from the water cooler. “But if you change your mind-”
“I know where to find you,” you joke, noticing only now that Hitoshi’s leaning in the door to his office, arms crossed over his chest. Oh.
-
“Hey,” Hitoshi stops in front of your apartment building.
Neither of you have addressed the topic at hand. And you don’t think it will happen soon.
You’re fine with that, you really are. You don’t need him to confirm something you already know. Not when he’s holding your hand right now, not when there’s a bouquet from him on your kitchen table right now. So maybe he needs a little more time to put into words what already exists. You’ve always known him to take a little longer to trust reality. That’s just a thing that happens to people who got burned before.
“Hey,” you say back, lean your head against his shoulder. “Do you wanna come up?”
He does not answer, instead he stretches out his hand and draws something onto the dirty rear window of a parked car with his finger.
When you lean over to see, he pushes you away with a tsk.
“Let me finish first,” he mumbles softly and you giggle, wait until he stops resisting.
There, painted into the dirt, is a little heart, filled with your Initials.
“Are you sure about that?” You ask, “That’s mighty official. This will probably stay on here for the rest of time.”
“I’m fine with that,” he says and taps your nose with the dirty finger, chuckles as you pull away in disgust.
-
In the morning, you’ll draw a heart onto the fogged up mirror.
You’ll hold his hand on the morning commute. Hitoshi will pretend not to notice when you slip your Ipod into his bag, prepped with a playlist just for him.
He’ll pick you up for lunch, hand on the small of your back as you find the most secluded part of the cafeteria.
When the lunch lady asks if you’re dating, you’ll both smile instead of answering and she’ll coo and put a little more meat on both of your plates.
And when Hitoshi and Hiro get paired up for afternoon patrol, Hitoshi will pull him to the side real quick and tell him, calmly but not without warning, that you are his girlfriend.
My Kofi if you want to tip me

Can I get some childhood friends to lovers hcs for Finn? Like the reader grew up with him and now they're dating as adults? Gender neutral or male reader also please :3
Of course!! I love this idea so much. Hope you enjoy!
TW: Light angst, lots of pining, hurt and comfort
Adult Finn x Reader Childhood Friends to Lovers
• Being the only two humans in Ooo, it was only a matter of time before you met each other at the ages of 12.
• Similarly to Finn, you had been found as a baby by a couple from the Candy Kingdom, and they raised you as their own with the help of Princess Bubblegum, her and Marceline becoming sort of older sister figures to you.
• One day, while visiting the castle, Ice King burst in from the wall in an another attempt to kidnap Princess Bubblegum, snow blowing everywhere as you looked up in fear.
• But then, out of nowhere, a boy with a bear hat and a magic dog burst in, beating the crap out of Ice King who fled back to his castle.
• When he turned to look at you, you both became shocked. Neither of you had any weird mutations or odd features, and he certainly wasn’t made of candy. He was human. You were the same.
• And from that day forward, you and Finn became inseparable friends, with you sometimes joining him and Jake on their many adventures.
• You watched as he grew up, fell in and out of love, found an entire island of other humans, met both his biological Mom and (deadbeat) Dad, lost his arm, and eventually prevented a war/world ending event. You sat with him as Fern lay dying, and went with him to plant the seed that would eventually sprout a new willow tree.
• Sometime after the end of Adventure Time, Finn and Huntress Wizard amicably broke up, deciding their relationship worked best as good friends/occasional work partners.
• Having developed a longtime crush on him, you had hoped that now was your chance, but your nervousness and not wanting to ruin your friendship got the better of you so you continued to admire him in secret.
• That was until Jake passed away, and Finn’s personality reverted back to when you were kids and the only thing that mattered was fighting monsters and adventuring.
• You grew concerned as he started to go on more and more dangerous missions, often times for no reason other than the thrill of it, and time after time he’d come back with even worse wounds. But you were always there to patch him up, no matter how bad it got.
• But today was different. After Simon had opened up to him and expressed his depression and how he felt out of place in this world now that he lost his magic, Finn had the bright idea that a life-threatening adventure was what he needed to cure his sadness.
• This of course went terrible for Simon, but Finn thought it was great, and when he came back afterwards with a giant slash on his back and told you about it, that was it.
• You went off on him, telling him that while you know he’s still grieving, almost getting himself killed all the time isn’t the answer. You were tired of seeing him get hurt, and in your righteous anger, you finally admitted that you were in love with him. Tears flowed down your cheeks as you softly admitted that you’d loved him since you were kids, and seeing him act like this after all of his past growth was hurting you.
• Finn’s eyes grew wide, he had no idea that you had felt that way about him. And even more, that you reciprocated the feelings he’d had since you were 18. But with everything going on, adventuring and eventually Jake’s death, he felt like he never had time to pursue a relationship you.
• So he pulls you into a hug, stroking your hair as you continue to cry into his shoulder. He apologizes for making you worry, saying that he didn’t know why he acted the way he did, he just needed a distraction from the pain of losing his brother. But in doing that, he had forgotten he still had you.
• He puts his hand on your chin, directing you to look at him. He smiles down at you, wiping away your tears with his thumb as he confesses that he felt the exact same way.
• Your tears change from ones of sadness to joy, and you feel the urge to kiss him. Luckily he has the same idea, and gently pulls you towards his lips and kisses you sweetly.
• Eventually you both pull away, and in that moment, everything feels like it’s exactly how it’s supposed to be.
• After you officially start dating, he stops going out on adventures as much, instead opting to spend more time with you and Jake’s kids.
• Of course, adventuring is still a part of him, but he focuses more on helping people than fighting and killing things, and of course he brings you along for the ride. Finally, after so many years waiting, the two of you are together.

Shit.
You’ve always known your luck was shit, but running into your crush at a party was the last thing you thought would happen. Especially the day after you finally talked to him only to discover he has a girlfriend. You found out also that he’s an asshole who likes to lead people on until he feels like crushing their feelings.
You can’t see him right now. Not like this.
Peach Cîroc staining your top, now soaked into your flesh… It’d be too embarrassing.
So, you hide. But the room you’ve chosen is already occupied.
“The fuck are you doing here?”
“Oh, shi–”
Someone’s in here, and their voice startles you. Your right palm lays flat on your chest, trying to settle your racing heart. You turn around expecting to give an apology and be on your way, but once again, shitty luck.
“Jungkook? Seriously?”
How can things go from bad to worse?
Let’s just say you’ve been… Well, you’ve been avoiding one guy so you can chase another. A couple of months ago, you went on a blind date with a guy, and he just so happens to be the person standing in front of you. Only one person enjoyed that date, and it damn sure wasn’t you.
You knew by the way your friends described him that he was too good to be true. On paper, Jungkook sounds amazing—brown eyes, healthy hair, smart, talented… hot. But no one talks about his competitiveness. The 8-year-olds at the trampoline park will never be the same.
Instead of attraction, you can only feel annoyance when it comes to his arrogance. You would rather take the walk of shame than be stuck in here… with him.
“I’m leaving.”
“No,” he interjects. “You’re hiding.”
Jungkook takes the remaining steps to close the space separating you two, and like a deer caught in headlights, you’re frozen.
“Is someone bothering you?”
“What?! No, I’m not.”
The beginning of a chuckle travels past his lips, openly mocking you.
“You squeaked. You’re lying.” Jungkook tilts his head. “He’s out there, huh?”
Great. Everyone knows.
“Fuck off, Jungkook.”
This time he doesn’t even try to hide his amusement. His smirk just continues to grow as he stands toe to toe with you.
“Or I can do you one better,” he suggests.
Your eyebrows lift involuntarily as curiosity invades your thoughts. The thing about people who are full of themselves, they sure do talk a good game.
Tension appears to grow after his finger beckons you to come closer, his minty breath hitting your skin when he leans closer. The vibration from his words sends a tingle through your body. You suppose lack of sex will make the smallest things feel electrifying.
“...I can fuck you senseless right here against this door.”
“Oh, you’d like that, huh?”
Jungkook pulls away, taking the soothing scent of his Versace with him.
“I would,” he agrees. “And so would you if you ever gave me a chance.”
“You wouldn’t even know what to do with me.”
“You wanna bet on that?”
Silence dominates the dark bedroom as the stare-down begins. Neither of you wants to look away because that would mean defeat. That’s not an option when it comes to Jungkook.
“Scared you’ll want more, huh?”
“The lies you tell.”
Jungkook’s crooked smile never fades as he shakes his head. “I bet you’re a runner.”
“Shut up.”
In the morning, you’ll think back on this and be mad at yourself for allowing him to get you worked up.
But that’s tomorrow's problem.
“Why? Don’t want to hear the truth–”
“You get on my nerves.” You grab Jungkook’s shirt and even he’s surprised. You could care less about his taunting because this is how he behaves when he wants your attention, but that smirk has got to go.
“I don’t care. Do something about that.”
Those glossy dark orbs hidden beneath his thick lashes focus directly on your lips. Your eyes explore his features, lingering on the tip of his tongue peeking out to bring moisture. He sucks his bottom lip between his teeth and slowly releases.
“Give me an excuse to pin you against this wall,” he whispers.
“Shut the fuck up.”
Kissing Jungkook was not in your plans tonight, but something comes over you, and you do just that. Your teeth click, and you grab at each other’s clothes as he guides you backward. When your back hits the door is when he finally comes to a stop, and his mint-tainted lips begin to venture lower.
Jungkook grips your ass while he nips the skin of your neck, leaving traces of him along your feverish skin. Your hair entangled in his hair pulls him closer as if there is any more space left between you.
“Hold on,” he breathes. “I smell alcohol. You good?”
Thinking about earlier, you roll your eyes as you recall some frat guy bumping into you.
“Yeah, I’m okay. I just got here. Some guy made me spill my drink all over myself.”
“Oh, yeah?”
“Yeah.”
He grips your hair and tilts your head, granting him more access to your collarbone and cleavage, two areas he can’t seem to abandon. “Remind me to kick his ass before we leave.”
A shuddered gasp escapes your lips when Jungkook’s teeth attack your flesh. He scoops you off your feet in the same motion, pinning you against the door with his hips while he leaves your skin wet and bruised. You can feel his bulge when he pushes up your skirt.
“Jungkook,” you mewl, raking your nails down his biceps.
He removes his jacket so you can feel more of his warmth beneath your palms. You feel Jungkook’s hand slip between you so he can pull down his pants. In this position, it’s impossible to see what he’s working with, but you can tell by the pressure probing at your panties that you’re going to feel every inch of him.
“One sec,” he murmurs.
Jungkook reaches for his wallet and finds a condom instantly. He opens the package and rolls it effortlessly. He’s probably done it more times than you can count, but that’s none of your business. It’s your turn now.
You pull your panties out of the way, and the blunt tip of his dick begins teasing your entrance, testing the waters until he’s sure it’s okay for him to sink into your pussy.
He makes you look at him while his cock slips inside of you, wanting the image of your initial reaction in his memory. You try to give him something decent to remember, but the stretch is so overwhelming your eyes roll back.
Jungkook eventually buries his face in the crook of your neck, trying to muffle his own moans, but you hear how desperate he is to fuck you. With your permission, he makes small strokes until you both can overcome the sensitivity.
“Pussy’s too good for you to be stressed over a piece of shit,” he murmurs into your bosom. He licks the sticky substance coating your breasts and moans. “...And you taste too good.”
He starts thrusting harder, and your bodies cause the door to rattle and shake. Your cries begin to fill the room, and Jungkook encourages them by filling your head with praises.
“You’re so hot and beautiful. You think that guy deserves to fuck you like this?”
He grabs your hands and pins them above you, supporting you with nothing but his slender but toned waist. You’re left in awe as he bounces you on his dick.
“Even if he deserved it. He couldn’t,” Jungkook adds. “He could never fuck you like this.”
“Jungkook!”
You sob his name as your muscles tighten, pressure building within you as you near your peak. His forehead presses against yours, and he looks into your eyes while he fucks you.
“But I can do it. I can fuck you like this.”
“Please,” you rasp.
“Why should I?”
You knew he’d be a little asshole. Your pride does not compare to your pleasure, however.
“I need to come,” you mutter.
“What was that?”
After gritting your teeth, you just allow the words to flow from your mouth.
“Please let me come!”
“Fuck. Okay, love.” His pace quickens, and your moans get louder, startling everyone outside the door. Sweat forms on Jungkook’s forehead as he puts in the work to make you reach your high. “Your moans are so fucking beautiful.”
His praise drives you over the edge, and your orgasm ripples through you without warning. Your body shudders as Jungkook guides you through an intense wave of pleasure before his thrust becomes wild and he spills his load into the condom.
“You owe me a second date,” he sighs as his dick slips out of you. Both of you groan. You from the emptiness, and he from the loss of warmth. “You’re paying this time.”
“I swear you get on my nerves.”
“I still don’t care,” he laughs.
Jungkook keeps you in this position while he caresses your thighs. You’re enjoying the gentleness of his touch. So, you don’t even complain. It’s a peaceful moment, and all the concerns you had recently have been buried underneath your dickmatized state.
After some minutes go by, Jungkook finally speaks.
“I’m going to put you down now, okay?”
“Okay.”
When your feet touch the ground is when everything sets in. You bask in it all as you both rearrange your clothing. You try to avoid Jungkook’s gaze, but it wouldn’t be him if he didn’t demand your attention.
“So, two options.”
“I’m listening.”
“We can pretend it never happened, or…”
“Or what?”
Jungkook smirks.
“We can pretend it never happened and go back to my place for round two,” he suggests.
The thought has you smiling before you even realize it.
You respond a bit shyly. “I like option two.”
“Oh, yeah?... Well, let’s go then.”
He grabs your hand, but you both pause before opening the door. There’s no way to explain this situation to anyone, and the second that door opens people will begin talking. You aren’t entirely sure how you feel about that.
As if he can read your mind, Jungkook speaks up.
“Come on. We’ll deal with it tomorrow.”
And you know… Maybe Jungkook does deserve a second date.
No trampoline parks, though.

Roytim is such a fun crack rarepair for me! Dick’s best friend sleeping with/dating Dick’s baby brother Timmy is 10/10 drama on a more personal note than I’d picture it with Jason. Absolutely no shade I just have always read Dick as being more protective of Tim and Damian.
Do you have any Roytim headcanons to share? <3
oh i LOVE RoyTim on it's own! likely bc i'm just a Tim multishipper and if it fits i ship, but Roy is especially fun via the Dick connection. and i 1000% agree, *especially* pre-Flashpoint, would even argue it's outright canon that Dick is far more protective of Tim and Damian than he ever was with Jason (not out of dislike, but simply bc Dick and Jason were never all that close and the tragedy of losing Jason was losing what could've been, not what he already had) and especially with Jason as Red Hood, Dick holds no particular protective brotherly feelings toward him. it's all Tim and Damian. so you're so right, the drama of RoyTim is just a smidge more upped than of JayRoy and i'd love to share headcanons-
i think it makes for a fun "crush on your older brother's friend" situation. where like. Tim knows it's unrealistic and he has no *actual* intentions to chase it when he's just 15/16 and Roy and Dick are in their twenties, often hanging out around Tim. and Roy is handsome, he's funny, he's similar in personality to ppl Tim has dated (Steph, Kon) so, it's a crush. one that he hides *well* and never makes it Dick or Roy's problem, and one Tim never expects to pan out. he just fantasizes about Roy a little bit and mostly grows out of it by the time he's an adult.
i think more fics need Lian, so i like the idea of them co-parenting Lian. especially if they're both. sort of bad at it. like Roy loves her and he's trying, but he's doing this basically alone and it's not like he has experience. Tim also has no experience. neither of them know what on earth to do. it's a very cute idea that just relies on the two of them being terrible at parenting and Roy getting so mad that the first time Lian says "dada" she says it to Tim that he considers breaking up for a good five minutes.
how they get together can happen in a lot of ways, but i'm interested in the idea of Dick asking Roy to talk to Tim during Tim's Red Robin arc. Roy has experience helping kids through his work helping young addicts and nothing else has worked, so he offers to at least try with Tim. and Roy, who also doesn't handle grief well, understands at least some of what Tim is going through. especially since Roy dealt with Oliver dying and then suddenly coming back, he's at least open to the idea Bruce could be alive. he's just around to try and help Tim keep some emotional stability, but it ends up with Roy helping with the search and somehow, falling for Tim along the way
they go to sitcom levels of chaos trying to keep the relationship hidden from Dick. they *both* know Dick is far too protective of Tim to react well to it. but also, i think Roy would get *just* a bit of an ego about sleeping with Tim under Dick's nose. he makes a point of strutting around when Dick invites him over, finding reasons to be shirtless just to make Tim squirm a little bit. it's that sort of kink where you're excited about the risk of being caught. that fits these two so well and i can't explain it.
because Roy is used to mentoring younger heroes, i think he would have a bigger than normal moral panic about dating Tim. he fights his feelings for a *while*, to the point Tim can tell Roy is fighting his feelings and he's trying to convince Roy he's fine with this. Tim telling Roy about his childhood crush does not help. it makes Roy feel *worse*. it makes them take things very slowly, and i could see Roy being the type to never fully touch Tim until Tim is 18, no matter how much Tim insists it's okay.
i do think they have unhinged sex when they actually get into it though. no matter how sure Roy is that he'll be gentle the first time, the minute he gets his hands on Tim, it is feral. there is blood and foul dirty talk and Tim cannot walk the next day. i think Roy makes for a very mean dom, the type who will make fun of you for being a mess in bed. he just has those vibes, and it works great for getting Tim to just. turn his brain off.
i think Roy, who's struggled with picking hero names before, would be someone to try to force Tim to let go of Red Robin once the whole Bruce thing is over. it's not Tim's name and Tim doesn't need to keep punishing himself with it. Roy is nice about it at first, but then i do think he threatens to set that damn suit on fire if Tim keeps wearing it and doesn't come up with a new hero name. and the worst part is, Tim does know he's serious.
when Dick does find out, chaos. an absolute shitshow. when Roy tells him, Dick punches Roy in the face before he even finishes explaining himself. it's a pure gut reaction. even Bruce isn't as protective over Tim as Dick is. it takes a *lot* of convincing from Tim that it's okay and he wanted this before Dick calms down, and he still doesn't talk to Roy for like a month until the rest of the Titans are forced to hold an intervention reminding Dick of his own dating history with age gaps, like Babs. Dick does cool down, but he is not afraid to stoop to "you're fucking my brother" in an argument bc he wins everytime when he brings it up.
i think Tim is the protective partner. everyone *expects* it to be Roy, he's older and more experienced, but it's Tim who will absolutely lose it if someone threatens Roy's or Lian's life. like not fanonish "committing murder" Tim, but more so canonish "i have a contingency plan for everything" Tim. Roy has had to hold him back a couple times. honestly i think the moral conversations Roy and Tim have are so interesting. because Roy will cross the line for those he loves, so bc of that, Tim is careful to make sure Roy is never in a position where he has to protect Tim bc he knows it would turn lethal quickly. it's a very "i know what you're capable of and you don't scare me but i won't let you become a worse version of yourself bc of me" sort of self preservation vibe. i think it'd be very neat. Tim fights like hell when he's close to death bc his thought is always "i refuse to let Roy feel like he has to avenge me" which i find very crunchy.
#necrotic answerings#tim drake x roy harper#roytim#i adore roytim anon tysm for this#I love crack ships for Tim that shouldn't work but do#I will fandom bicycle that man to death.#I hope these thoughts feed you well#you could dead dove the fuck out of these two#but they're more fun as a chaotic cute couple#bc that's the joy. they shouldn't work. it baffles *everyone* who finds out.#the titan's are like oh. dick's brother??#and young justice is like. wait arsenal? how did you even know arsenal well enough to be dating him???#so many questions. Roy will try to answer them if he's asked. Tim will just shrug bc it's his business.#I just love these two. roy my beloved.

In this world, it's easy to know who is your soulmate, but how you find it, it's a complete surprise. One day you'll speak to someone and the very first words they direct at you will appear on your right wrist. Well... meeting your own soulmate was not only in a very premature moment in your life, but it came with a very awkward price. 'Poor Akaashi Keiji' is a thought you would spend your entire life repeating in your head.
Genre: Fluff. Soulmate!AU High School.
Warnings: None.
Words: 2.1K
Notes: No link to the 'original post' here because I took the premise of the original one and literally changed everything about it.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
You were having one of those days where it seemed the universe was on a personal mission to make things worse and worse for you. You had been the chosen joke of whatever superior force ruled the world.
You had stayed up very late into the night since it was a Friday. You had zero plans scheduled for the rest of the weekend and you had found a new television series that had ended two years ago and its six seasons were all available. You would have the entirety of your Saturday for yourself anyway. Or well… you had thought.
What had happened instead was your best friend calling you continuously at nine in the morning, to the point the sole buzzing of the phone successfully woke you up. You were quick to point out the day and the hour, cursing her for running your plans of waking up until after noon and staying in your pajamas for half the day. However, she didn’t apologize.
“Did you seriously forget about the Fukurodani Open Day?” your friend questioned, almost offended.
“That is till next week,” you reminded her, dropping your head back on your pillow hoping you could end the call and try to sleep a couple more hours.
“Uhh, no. It’s today.”
“What? It was till the sixteenth,” you insisted.
“Today is the sixteenth.”
You had blinked twice and removed the phone from your ear to look at the date and time. It turned out your friend was completely right. You gasped and jumped out of bed, showering your friend with apologies. The plan you had made was to get breakfast together and then head to Fukurodani together. Your friend had a crush with a guy from the basketball team. She had seen him a couple months back during a tournament game. She had been there to support his younger cousin and left the place furiously investigating everything about the school and team. As she had landed her eyes on the Open Day event, she had made you promise you would go there with her. And still, you had completely forgotten.
The plan was to go there, find the guy and have your friend talk to him and try to find out if the ‘hello there’ she planned on saying appeared on his right wrist. Neither of you had an indication if he could be ‘the one’, but your friend was so infatuated, she had sworn it was an important lead.
You took a quick shower and rushed to your closet with your hair wrapped in a towel. You didn’t have time to meticulously choose your outfit for the day, so you went for a safe option. Comfortable denim shorts and a flowy t-shirt tucked inside together with your favorite pair of sneakers. You didn’t have time to even put a bit more effort in your appearance, so you relied on your sunscreen and mascara. You always had a lip balm with you and that would have to do. You left your house and rushed through the streets. At that point, you didn’t have time to wait for the bus. You only had your legs and your will to make it up to your friend. But it seemed you couldn’t trust your body either because the tip of your sneaker got stuck on the edge of the sidewalk as you finished crossing the street and fell forward. Thankfully, your left leg managed to keep you steady but your right leg wasn’t so lucky, and so, your right knee met with the harsh concrete and got scraped. You hissed in pain as two older guys tried to check on you. You lifted a hand at them, silently letting them know you were okay. Truth was… you hated being late. You hated being in a hurry. Nothing went well when one was in a hurry and that day was proving it. Your wet hair had managed to wet the back of your t-shirt and you had forgotten your sweater, so now you were kind of cold and with nothing to help. Also, your sneaker had a dirt mark on the front and your knee hurt and was bleeding.
You couldn’t run anymore, but you could hop very fast… and you did that for the next five minutes as the initial recoil on your knee went away and you could properly step on your foot. You still couldn’t pick up the pace, but striding was possible and you kept the rhythm. Instead of meeting your friend at the little diner where you were supposed to have breakfast together, you met her at the entrance of Fukurodani. She had sustained a stony expression on you, trying to emphasize she was still not over you forgetting your plans together, but as soon as her eyes drifted down to your knee, she gasped.
“What happened?”
“My feet betrayed me,” you sighed. “It doesn’t hurt that much anymore.”
“We need to clean it, though. It looks bad.” Your friend suddenly stretched her hand to you, handing you a small paper bag. “Also, got you an egg sandwich.”
You simply raised your arms and dropped them around her in a thankful hug. You could really sit down, go silent for five minutes, and have some food. Tired of waiting, your friend grabbed your arm and you two went inside. You allowed your friend to scan the board where all the activities were written down so you two could finally try to make the fateful encounter happen. Your stomach grumbled, then. The smell of the egg sandwich was alluring and you decided to not wait anymore. While your friend searched for the basketball demonstration, you could start munching down on some breakfast. But life was not done with you yet. As you opened the paper bag, a sturdy body crashed lightly against yours, but with your knee in a weak state, it was all it took for you to lose your balance. With two clumsy steps forward, the paper bag slipped your hands and crashed on the floor. You watched as a stranger who had been mindlessly walking through the hallway kicked it.
That was it. You couldn’t take it anymore. Throwing any patience or manners out the window, you turned to see the guy who had crashed onto you. He was tall with short, messy black hair. He looked worried and was about to speak, but you didn’t let him.
“My egg sandwich, dude,” you snarled, and stomping your feet you went to get your food. You picked up the paper bag and looked inside, afraid of finding it in a complete mess. However, the sandwich had been perfectly wrapped up in aluminum paper. Maybe it would be a little mangled, but everything would be in place and ready for you to eat.
You stood up and found the same guy still staring at you with both eyes wide opened, his right hand lifted. You frowned at him, unfairly taking your anger in what was an obvious accident. As you stepped closer, meditating about apologizing for your attitude or not, you finally saw it. On his wrist, the words ‘my egg sandwich, dude’ were marked like a tattoo.
Your brain registered what that meant in a heartbeat. All the air in you slipped through your lips. The guy in front of you... the one with the same startled expression as yours was your soulmate… and you had forever marked his wrist with the stupidest phrase you had ever uttered in your entire life till that point.
Your soulmate. Right there. In front of you.
In a hurricane of uncomfortable emotions, you covered your face with both hands as a strong, overwhelming wave of heat struck your neck and it painfully crawled up to your ears and cheeks. Your whole face was beyond warm with embarrassment. You heard the steps of someone approaching you and you just knew it wasn’t your friend by the sensation of a tall presence looming over you. Your friend wasn't that tall. By then your friend had most probably taken notice of what was unfolding.
“Pleasure to meet you,” he said, using what you could only describe as the gentlest voice you had heard. And he also smelled nice. It was a mix between mint and soap. Clean and soft.
You couldn’t cover your eyes till he got tired and left. You assume he wouldn’t. Well, if he did, it would be disappointing. Your soulmate couldn’t give up on you… and neither could you. It would be equally horrifying if you decided to ignore him to the point he decided to leave you alone. One couldn’t choose how they were going to meet their soulmate, and yours happened to be a tad unfortunate. Nothing to do about it anymore.
You slowly moved your hands away from your face and lifted your eyes as you felt a tingling on your own right wrist. You finally got a good look at him—he had thin features and was fondly smiling at you. Why wasn’t he annoyed even in the slightest? He would live with a horrible sentence on his skin forever.
You turned your eyes to your wrist, seeing the words ‘Pleasure to meet you’ on it. It was so nice and so polite. It was obvious he had picked his words carefully once realizing the situation, making sure the words meant to be on your skin forever were something good.
He had been cautions enough to say the perfect thing.
“Uhm, I’m going to go ahead,” your friend said, a cheeky edge on her words. “Don’t leave without me, okay?”
“No, of course not!” you hurriedly assured her. “I’ll text you.”
She gave you a thumbs up and did as she said, leaving you alone with your soulmate—a soulmate you still didn’t know their name.
“Your knee is bleeding,” he said before you could ask for his name. “Let’s get that fixed. Follow me.”
You nodded, holding your stupid egg sandwich against your chest. Your hunger had dimmed but that paper bag was the only thing helping you find stability for the time being. Your legs wobbled with every step you took. You had never been one to feel confident about love—you had even stopped thinking when or how you would find your soulmate, afraid it would take your entire life to do so—and now everything was happening in the snap of a finger, in the quickness of a breath.
He signaled you to wait for him as he approached a table with two older ladies. He pointed at you and continued talking. You were right. He was incredibly polite. His stance didn’t shy away, but just by the way he stood and the tone he used, he was respectful. That was nice. Your mother would like him a lot. Your cheeks burned again at your thoughts. That had to be the next, right? You had to start dating. Or well, maybe you could know each other first. Was it possible to not like your soulmate? You had never thought about it. You felt the urge to take out your phone and quickly search for all those answers but by then, he was already coming back at you with a first-aid kit hanging from one of his hands.
“You can sit there,” he said, pointing at the benches lined up against the walls. Again, you could only nod and obey.
You thought you would sit down and he would maybe sit beside you and hand you what you needed for your knee. Instead, he placed the first-aid kit next to you and he knelt. You panicked, quickly muttering ‘no’ over and over again, motioning with your hands for him to stand up. He completely ignored you and got a gauze and rubbing alcohol, and proceeded to clean your scrape. You slightly hissed at the first touch and he apologized, which you found endearing. The wound was no way his fault and he was being beyond nice for getting on the ground and taking care of it. You could already see yourself gloating to others about the gentleman the universe had chosen for you.
In no time there was no more blood on your skin and you could see the scrape wasn’t as bad as the bleeding had made it seem. It would form a scab for sure, but nothing more.
“Thank you so much…” you said, lingering there for a minute. “I still don’t know your name.”
He smiled as he put the bottle of rubbing alcohol back into the box. “Akaashi Keiji. What’s yours?”
You told him yours and repeated his name a couple times in your head. Your eyes went back to his right wrist and a chuckle escaped you, still in disbelief. “I will have these nice words on me, but, I… I just ruined your wrist forever.”
He took a look himself at his own skin and brushed a thumb over it, pale skin stretching but the words not going anywhere. He smiled again. Or had the smile ever left his face? You couldn't tell.
“No, it will be a funny story to tell,” he calmly stated. You smiled back at him, allowing yourself for the first time to relax around him.
Needless to say, that egg sandwich was left untouched and forgotten to the side.
